- 0:17everything you need to fix your hot rod up.
- 0:19They're telling me that they got G parts and they got truck
- 0:22parts. So go check out jags.com right
- 0:26now. Well, as I point to this super
- 0:29late model, this is a dirt super late model.
- 0:31Let's look at it real quick. This emergency press conference
- 0:36is about the great Scott Bloomquist.
- 0:40So as we all know, Bloomer was driving his dirt super late
- 0:45model in one of the heat races, the qualifying heat races up
- 0:49there at El Dora and had a violent wreck.
- 0:53Had a lot of people called my phone.
- 0:55Herman, what do you think of that?
- 0:57So had about six people want my thoughts and I thought, well,
- 1:02let's have an emergency press conference right now.
- 1:05First of all, the wreck and the interview were equally as big.
- 1:12I felt bad as you can tell in my face.
- 1:16You know, the the wreck was an accident.
- 1:19Let let's talk about the wreck first and then I want to get to
- 1:22the great Scott Bloomquist. Really, it shook me up his
- 1:29interview on flow. But let's get to the the rec.
- 1:34First of all, Scott goes into one.
- 1:37He diamonds the corner, the great Shanna Babs in front of
- 1:41him. Babs making the circle looks
- 1:44like Bloomer kind of goes in, gets up, gets it turn and he's
- 1:48coming down the hill and it looks like he's going to blow
- 1:51just right by Shannon Babb and he was Babb was kind of going
- 1:57across the track and and it is my belief.
- 2:02Listen, I ran outdoor a lot. I'm I'm nowhere near as good as
- 2:06these guys, but I've got I've got a handful of wins there in
- 2:10my modified in in, you know, the 2005 prelude of the dreams.
- 2:16So I've run outdoor a lot. That's my disclaimer.
- 2:20So here's what I saw. I saw two great drivers at two
- 2:25different angles. You know, you saw Bloomquist
- 2:29coming down the hill. His peripheral vision says I
- 2:34have passed Shannon Bab, I passed him and now I'm going to
- 2:38start coming up. Bab is coming down at the same
- 2:42time and Bab's kind of coming off like, like Babs, Babs, you
- 2:47know, out there and he's kind of OK.
- 2:48Now I'm coming down. I see both of them doing this.
- 2:54Bloomer in his interview was a little upset with Babs saying,
- 2:57hey, look, man, he didn't even pop the gas.
- 2:59He just finished me off. But listen, we're not we're not
- 3:02going to, we're not going to pick sides here.
- 3:05We're not going to pick sides here because these are two great
- 3:07race car drivers. You're never going to convince
- 3:10me that Shannon Babs said, hell, I'm just going to fucking kill
- 3:13Bloomquist. Excuse me, excuse me for that
- 3:17language, but kind of worked up on this deal emotionally.
- 3:22I just don't think Shanna Babb says I'm going to go ahead and
- 3:26kill Scott Bloomquist and Bloomer's thinking I'm clear. 2
- 3:30great drivers had a hell of a wreck.
- 3:32And you know, listen, wreck's a wreck.
- 3:37But you know, it's kind of like Earnhardt.
- 3:39It's kind of like when you see Dale's senior wreck, you're
- 3:41like, you know, the greats. I want to be clear about this.
- 3:46The greats, they have wrecks, but they and they come out just
- 3:50like Bloomer did. But, but when the greats wreck,
- 3:54it's a reminder that even the greats wreck there.
- 3:57There's always this thought that oh, the greats never wreck, only
- 4:01the Bobo's wreck. Well, this is a reminder that
- 4:04that what can happen. 2 greats. We all know that Bloomer's the
- 4:08greatest of all time. There's no argument there, and
- 4:11we know that Shanna Babb is one of the greats.
- 4:14He's a hero to many, including me.
- 4:17So 2 great drivers get into it. I'm telling you, I feel like it
- 4:22was an accident. 11 thinks he's, you know, Bloomer thinks he's
- 4:26clear. He's not.
- 4:28And I think at the same time, Babb's coming down the hill and
- 4:31he didn't expect Bloomer to be passing in that fast.
- 4:35All right, so that is my thought process on the wreck.
- 4:40But the bigger, the reason I'm even doing this emergency press
- 4:43conference on the Kenny Walsh show is the interview with Scott
- 4:47Bloomquist was very emotionally draining.
- 4:50Scott says, you know, I've overcome a lot #1 He says he's
- 4:55overcome cancer. Excuse me, OK, I know y'all are
- 5:00better than me, but I'm a dirt racer too, OK?
- 5:04I didn't know he had cancer. I just thought he got roughed up
- 5:08with the bad wrecks on the motorcycle.
- 5:10I thought all this stemmed from five to six years ago down the
- 5:13Daytona bike week. We all know the Mcdowell's all
- 5:17of them were together and and Scott Bloomquist wrecked and I
- 5:21still in my mind thought he was just overcoming this and just
- 5:25could not get healthy. Well, this was an eye opening
- 5:29interview and I know a lot of you are in shock right now.
- 5:31So Bloomer says, look, I've had to overcome cancer.
- 5:34I've had to overcome my arm being numb.
- 5:37I've had to overcome my hip, my leg.
- 5:40And if that isn't enough to go, he says, I'm selling.
- 5:45I'm liquidating because I need money.
- 5:49That crushed me. This is why I always talk to
- 5:55Gordy Gundaker. Gordy, you're watching right
- 5:57now. If Gordy's not watching, make
- 6:01sure y'all tell Gordy. I tell Gordy Gundanker I'm proud
- 6:05of Nick Hoffman. He's doing it.
- 6:07I love these guys, but you know, I'm a teacher.
- 6:12You just heard the greatest skirt racer of all time saying
- 6:16that was not his car, although it looked like his car.
- 6:21The interview was ground breaking.
- 6:24He flat said I'm liquidating. You know, he wanted to thank
- 6:30everybody. He was thanking everybody.
- 6:33That's got him to where he's at right now.
- 6:37And I can tell that he's a tough guy.
- 6:40I get it. Bloomer's a tough guy, but I
- 6:42think he's heartbroke. There I said it.
- 6:45I think Scott Bloomquist is heartbroke.
- 6:47I think Bloom. Bloomer's my age.
- 6:49He's 60. Listen, you know, I understand.
- 6:53Don't let the old man in. But when you've had a bout of
- 6:56cancer and you can't feel your arm, you can't feel your leg,
- 7:00and you're beat up like him, the turning point in this interview
- 7:04for me was the cancer. And I'm, I'm liquidating.
- 7:08I'm selling things basically to stay alive, stay digging in the
- 7:13racing world. And once again, he's thanking
- 7:15everybody that's helped him. But listen, these damn motors
- 7:19are $60,000. If you're Scott Bloomquist,
- 7:22you're not going to run a $50,000 motor.
- 7:25Listen, I know what the hell I'm talking about.
- 7:26I don't want to get in a pissing match with any of you.
- 7:29I know what the hell I'm talking about.
- 7:30If you're a Bloomer, you're going to have a $60,000 motor,
- 7:34not 54,000. OK, so he's going to have the
- 7:38best because he knows what it takes to win.
- 7:40And then super lay miles, they'll take it out of you.
- 7:44When Bloomer got hurt, you know, the, the money quit rolling.
- 7:50You know, you got to keep operating a business if if you
- 7:54pause for a minute, now this is key.
- 7:56If you pause, if you stop your business for a minute and the
- 7:59money quits coming in, that's it.
- 8:03You need big financial help. So Bloomer says, basically, I
- 8:09want to thank everybody that's helping me.
- 8:11And, and, and he and he felt strong in his heart that he
- 8:13could win the dream tonight is what he said.
- 8:17All right, I've laid it all out there for you.
- 8:20I told you why the emergency press conference?
- 8:22Because the cancer caught me off guard.
- 8:24Him liquidating caught me off guard.
- 8:26I didn't know he's liquidating. I look at his dad, who's got all
- 8:31those beautiful airplanes. You know, you, you just you just
- 8:36hope that your heroes save money.
- 8:39You know, my brother Rusty taught me when the great Bobby
- 8:42Allison got wrecked, you know, in the triable there at Pocono.
- 8:46That's the moment my brother Rusty sat me down on a set of
- 8:49steps at our shop down there behind their Charlotte Motor
- 8:52Speedway, said Herman. And I want all you young kids
- 8:56who remember this hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
- 9:02It pains me that Bloomers saying I'm liquidating, I don't own
- 9:07this race car. I want to thank Eddie Petroff
- 9:10and listen, Bloomer. Bloomer is not done.
- 9:14I I, I think he's going to come out and he's going to try to
- 9:16finish this deal off and go out the way he wants to go out.
- 9:20I never doubt this man. He'll make you look like a fool.
- 9:24I don't doubt him. This emergency press conference
- 9:28is about my heartbreak for the great Scott Bloomquist.
- 9:31Hey, listen, I've said hi to him a couple times.
- 9:34He acknowledges me. He's a badass.
- 9:37We all know Bloom bloomers in his own world.
- 9:41This whole alien deal. Sometimes I think, you know, he,
- 9:46he OK, let's say he really believes in aliens.
- 9:50Let's say he doesn't. He's a hell of an actor.
- 9:53He's a hell of an actor. I just take Bloomer for every
- 9:56everything I see. He's a hell of a showman.
- 9:59The crotch chop. You know, I tell you, the
- 10:01longest conversation I had with Bloomer was down at the Dome.
- 10:05I said we were. He was getting his money.
- 10:07He won the first Dome race here in Saint Louis.
- 10:10And it was just me and him one-on-one.
- 10:11I want to share this with you. This is a look inside Scott
- 10:15Bloomquist. He's very nice to me, very
- 10:17serious. I said Bloomer, I said I really
- 10:20like that when you do that crotch chop.
- 10:22He looked me right in the face and he says when I do that
- 10:25crotch chop, I better win because I know I'm taking a
- 10:28chance. He knows he's putting on a show
- 10:31in front of all of you. We know he's different.
- 10:34But now I'm going to give you my opinion on the clothes like
- 10:38this. My heart hurts for Bloomer right
- 10:41now. I don't believe now this is my
- 10:45opinion. I will sponsor some of these
- 10:49race car drivers and then they'll come back once more and
- 10:52I'm like, no, I'm done with you because a dirt super late model
- 10:57racer is like a crack addict. I said it, I said it.
- 11:02A dirt super late model racer is like a damn crack addict.
- 11:06They'll they'll always come back for more.
- 11:07There's never enough. You can win $1,000,000 in one
- 11:11year and by the time you pay taxes and get your part, you got
- 11:14300,000 left and you buy yourself a ranch and now you
- 11:17need more because you spent it all.
- 11:20We all watched and we listened to Mark Richards.
- 11:23He, he, you know, listen, the driver don't get it all.
- 11:27The car owner didn't get it all and there's bills to pay,
- 11:30motors, tires, all of that. So deep breath for blooming.
- 11:37But here's my opinion. He's going to do what he's want,
- 11:41he's going to do. He's going to do what he wants
- 11:43to do. However, I do not, I do not want
- 11:48to see a great go out like this. I'm not half the man he is.
- 11:54But I want to say this, I had a couple great NASCAR drivers said
- 12:00to me, and even though I'm nobody, I'm nobody.
- 12:03But when I quit NASCAR, I said that's it.
- 12:07And I made a big deal out about it.
- 12:09And I had a big sponsor, US Cellular, and I drove a Joe
- 12:13Gibbs car and they gave me a standing ovation in the drivers
- 12:18meeting. And that was it then.
- 12:22And you know, my career ended the way I wanted it to end.
- 12:28That's what I want to see happen to Bloomer.
- 12:30I want to see everybody in the drivers meeting give him a
- 12:33standing ovation. And I wanted to see him ended on
- 12:37his terms, OK, just because I, I, I look up to the man.
- 12:43I don't want to see bloomer going out like this.
- 12:47So maybe, maybe he'll see this bloomer.
- 12:51I love you. You're a hero.
- 12:53You're so damn smart. We're not even in your
- 12:55wavelength. You're you're like, you're like
- 12:59an Alexander Graham Bell. You, you are an innovator.
- 13:03You're like you're like Elon Musk.
- 13:07I just want to see you go out with all of us driver.
- 13:10All of us drivers give you a standing ovation.
- 13:13So we cannot let you go out like this.
- 13:15I had no idea, buddy, that you were liquidating.
- 13:18You had cancer. I knew I knew your hip.
- 13:20I knew everything else was next messed up.
- 13:23But all right, everybody, that's it.
- 13:25I gave you my opinion. I gave you an innuendo right
- 13:28there. I'm just saying for all your
- 13:30racers out there, what you heard Scott Bloomquist say is what I
- 13:34already know. And that's why I tell.
- 13:37That's why I tell my dear friends Gordy Gundaker and and
- 13:42I, I tell Nick Hoffman, don't be a dirt dobber because at the end
- 13:46of your career, you have nothing Come out unscathed.
- 13:51All right, Bloomer, I love you, buddy.
- 13:53I'm looking forward to that standing ovation at the World
- 13:56100. Bloomer's coming back to the
- 13:59World 100. He's going to win that sum
- 14:01bitch, and maybe he's going to go out his way because I don't
- 14:04want to see him go out that way. Lots of love, everybody.
