- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome to The Favorites, the podcast presented by BET three
- 0:12Speaker 1: sixty five. We are part of the Volume Podcast Network.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I'm Chad Millman of the Action Network. I'm alive from
- 0:18Speaker 1: my Tell Me John Holmes Studio, and I'm joined as
- 0:21Speaker 1: always by my co host, my companion, my compadre, my BFF,
- 0:24Speaker 1: professional Better Signmon Hunter and U.
- 0:28Speaker 2: So I'm in Chad. Is it a new year, new Chad?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Or is it same old Chad?
- 0:34Speaker 1: I love myself. Why would I want to change? I
- 0:37Speaker 1: feel great, I feel optimistic. I feel like my New
- 0:42Speaker 1: Year's resolution. Every year I have won New Year's resolution.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Live up to my potential. That's all I'm going to
- 0:49Speaker 1: try to do every day, try to do something to
- 0:54Speaker 1: make sure I'm living to the fullest of my potential.
- 0:58Speaker 1: And if you do that every day day, then at
- 1:01Speaker 1: the end of the year, you can look back and
- 1:04Speaker 1: say you've achieved great things. Could be as a parent,
- 1:08Speaker 1: as a spouse, as a career journey, as a health journey,
- 1:17Speaker 1: whatever it is. So I don't want to change a thing.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I'm fucking doing great. How about you?
- 1:24Speaker 2: It's good man, I'm literally the total opposite of you.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I've learned in life. If you don't try it all.
- 1:29Speaker 2: That's the only way to succeed. So yeah, God bless you, Chad.
- 1:33Speaker 1: It's so funny how different we are. If you listed
- 1:39Speaker 1: sort of your traits, how you approach life, how you
- 1:44Speaker 1: see people, how you view the world, and the same
- 1:49Speaker 1: things for me, people would think you're the old guy
- 1:53Speaker 1: and I'm the young guy, and that you've seen it all,
- 1:57Speaker 1: your world weary, that you have a perspective that comes
- 2:04Speaker 1: from years and years and decades of hard fought experiences,
- 2:10Speaker 1: and I'm just like the irrational optimist who hasn't been
- 2:15Speaker 1: beaten down by the world yet.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So hour perfect for one another. Brother.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Today is our NFL Week eighteen Best Bets, episode's last
- 2:24Speaker 1: best bets during the regular season final time, Simon and
- 2:28Speaker 1: I will narrow down our five picks for the favorites

- 2:45Speaker 1: are boosted moneyline, Underdog Harlay, the Underdog Round Robin, and
- 2:50Speaker 1: so much more. Bets are rolling in lines are moving
- 2:53Speaker 1: decisions that need to be made. As a volume podcast,
- 2:56Speaker 1: Boss Colin Coward likes to say there's a sea of
- 2:59Speaker 1: money out there. As a reminder, the favorite podcast is
- 3:02Speaker 1: presented by Bet three sixty five and now new Bet

- 3:23Speaker 1: A bet three six y five must be twenty one
- 3:24Speaker 1: or older presenton Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, North Carolina,
- 3:30Speaker 1: New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia or eighteen year older in Kentucky.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Gambling problem called one eight hundred gambler or one eight
- 3:36Speaker 1: hundred bets off in Iowa terms. Conditions restrictions apply. Okay,
- 3:41Speaker 1: it's my favorite segment. I saw someone the other day
- 3:45Speaker 1: last week. Someone said to me, you know what. My
- 3:47Speaker 1: favorite segment on the show is sharp Calls. So as
- 3:51Speaker 1: always on Thursday during the season, we like to hear
- 3:54Speaker 1: how the wise guys are responding to our Tuesday conversation.
- 3:58Speaker 1: We are influential lines move off of these conversations, pros
- 4:02Speaker 1: feel compelled to weigh in on our opinions. Simon, let's
- 4:07Speaker 1: do sharp calls.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Hello, who's there? I'm talking Rain.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Rain telephone range.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Somebody said, baby, want you do man?
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely a fun week with all the I feel
- 4:23Speaker 2: like it's a week of just opinions, right, people making
- 4:25Speaker 2: opinions and then kind of making moves based off of
- 4:29Speaker 2: the coach's opinions. Right. That's that's the other thing too.
- 4:31Speaker 2: It's like this week you're really locked in on all
- 4:34Speaker 2: the stupid coaches press conferences and you're trying to read
- 4:36Speaker 2: through the lines of what they're saying here, and let's
- 4:40Speaker 2: start on what sides the pros on the opposite side
- 4:42Speaker 2: of us. So Chad likes the Chargers. I like the Chargers.
- 4:46Speaker 2: They love the Raiders, Like every Prod've talked to you
- 4:48Speaker 2: loves the Raiders on the spot, and I'm not. I
- 4:51Speaker 2: don't get it chat. So that's the game. We have
- 4:53Speaker 2: to break down because I really don't understand what they're
- 4:55Speaker 2: getting from this Raiders side and that they see the
- 4:58Speaker 2: Chargers having a letdown here, not trying or maybe resting starters.
- 5:02Speaker 2: This harball strike you as that guy at all. I
- 5:04Speaker 2: just do not get what they're reading here in this one.
- 5:06Speaker 1: We've got intel on this and this sounds like it's
- 5:09Speaker 1: going to be a foxil.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Yeah, just one that really popped out to me. Just
- 5:13Speaker 2: how many guys I talked to that were on the
- 5:16Speaker 2: other side of that one for another game that I
- 5:19Speaker 2: think that I talked about it on Tuesday, that I
- 5:22Speaker 2: really liked Minnesota and that I was gonna probably most
- 5:25Speaker 2: likely bet heavily on Minnesota plus three. I talked to
- 5:28Speaker 2: a lot of pros that love Detroit. So that's a
- 5:30Speaker 2: really fun split game. There's some really smart money on
- 5:34Speaker 2: Detroit and for good reason. Right it's a proven team
- 5:37Speaker 2: that's been there before, and what's going to feel like
- 5:39Speaker 2: a playoff game against Sam Darnold. Like I get their
- 5:42Speaker 2: perspective that they think he's gonna choke and they trust
- 5:45Speaker 2: Golf and they want to put their money behind a
- 5:47Speaker 2: guy like Golf like can't argue against it right. So
- 5:49Speaker 2: that was another one that really jumped out for two
- 5:52Speaker 2: games that I'm on the other side of for games
- 5:54Speaker 2: they like that, we like Chad Bengals. I know a
- 5:56Speaker 2: game we're gonna break down. You know, most guys I
- 6:00Speaker 2: talked here on the same side of us with the Bengals,
- 6:02Speaker 2: Sam goes for this Jaguars game, we love it. Got
- 6:05Speaker 2: up to plus five and a couple of books. Now it's
- 6:07Speaker 2: down to plus four and a half plus four a
- 6:08Speaker 2: couple of books. So it makes sense the smart money's
- 6:11Speaker 2: come in. And obviously Darling, I should have taken I
- 6:14Speaker 2: should have listened to chat, should have made Simon says
- 6:16Speaker 2: the Giants. I don't know a single pro right now
- 6:19Speaker 2: that's on this Eagles team. It just feels like the
- 6:21Speaker 2: exact type of game where Eagles not that they want
- 6:25Speaker 2: to lose, but the coach has already come out and
- 6:28Speaker 2: basically said that they're sitting in a bunch of key
- 6:30Speaker 2: starters and it's most likely going to be the third
- 6:32Speaker 2: string quarterback playing in this game. So yeah, very very
- 6:36Speaker 2: interesting how much money's coming to the Giants. They were
- 6:39Speaker 2: plus three and a half before Syriana came out and
- 6:43Speaker 2: said he's sitting Saquan and a bunch of starters. So
- 6:46Speaker 2: that number now Chad is down to two two and
- 6:48Speaker 2: a half. Like I said, I wish I had made it.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Simon says for the last one again, me and you love.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I don't know how much. Actually I don't know how
- 6:57Speaker 2: much Tad love is. I just love it. I love Tennessee.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Every probably talk you loves Tennessee in this exact spot.
- 7:02Speaker 2: So that's going to be Joe Public on Houston. Only
- 7:06Speaker 2: professionals are going to bet Tennessee, who are two and
- 7:08Speaker 2: fourteen against the spread. So makes sense when I'm talking
- 7:11Speaker 2: to these guys why no one loves this Tennessee side.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I freaking love it. A couple of games you pinpointed
- 7:19Speaker 1: here that I'm very excited to talk about. Definitely the Chargers.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Definitely Tennessee. And there's a couple others too that I
- 7:27Speaker 1: want to get to. But it feels like there is
- 7:31Speaker 1: a Foxhtle bet there that sometimes it's harder to figure
- 7:34Speaker 1: these out, but I think we know which one it's
- 7:35Speaker 1: going to be. We'll also do our Big Balls Buffalo
- 7:38Speaker 1: at New England. So this one has moved from three
- 7:41Speaker 1: to two and a half. The drama, and you talked
- 7:46Speaker 1: about it the other day about the Patriots and fans
- 7:50Speaker 1: hating the Patriots. It's so interesting because there is a
- 7:54Speaker 1: lot of speculation here in the Northeast and in New
- 7:57Speaker 1: England about Drodmeo. Will the Patriots walk away from Gerard
- 8:02Speaker 1: Mayo after one year? The Crafts personally anointed him as
- 8:07Speaker 1: the Bill Belichick successor while Bill Belichick was still the coach.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Mike Vrabel is now available. Rabel has beloved. Rabel is
- 8:16Speaker 1: a proven head coach who has had great results. We
- 8:19Speaker 1: love Rabel as a coach, especially when he's an underdog.
- 8:24Speaker 1: That to me is always the sign of a good coach,
- 8:26Speaker 1: as you can cover and you can win. So as
- 8:31Speaker 1: an underdog, would they bounce Mayo for Rabel? Rael Mayo
- 8:37Speaker 1: this week has said Drake may is starting, They're going
- 8:40Speaker 1: to play to win. They have the number one pick
- 8:43Speaker 1: if they lose. Line has moved to two and a half.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I could get why Patrisons be so pissed off.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It's like, don't you see what we're trying to do here.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I get why they're so mad about it, But that
- 8:57Speaker 2: conversation about them not picking up Rabel just because relationships
- 9:02Speaker 2: and what they believe in. You know, Mayo might be
- 9:05Speaker 2: a good guy all that. You know, you know when
- 9:07Speaker 2: you know, right, like you know when a guy is
- 9:09Speaker 2: a legit coach and when they're not, and you know,
- 9:11Speaker 2: you can just tell why the plage react him. And
- 9:13Speaker 2: I remember earlier in the year he was just talking
- 9:15Speaker 2: about them being soft and not playing hard and different
- 9:18Speaker 2: things like that, which again wouldn't be a big deal,
- 9:20Speaker 2: but he's saying it to the media like that was
- 9:22Speaker 2: one of the more bizarre interviews. And you know, anyone
- 9:25Speaker 2: that loves football like we do, they know Vrabel's a
- 9:27Speaker 2: better coach. Come on, now, the guy took a Ryan
- 9:30Speaker 2: Tannehill corpse to be the one seat. Like that really
- 9:33Speaker 2: happened in the AFC, which is just mind blowing you
- 9:36Speaker 2: look back on it. I was able to get that
- 9:37Speaker 2: team to be a one seat. So yeah, the question is, Chad,
- 9:42Speaker 2: do we want to bet on Mitchrubisky here in our
- 9:44Speaker 2: final five? That's that's gonna end up end questioning because
- 9:46Speaker 2: we know even with their backups and non starters in there.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I just trust the Bills coaching staff, their scheme, what
- 9:54Speaker 2: they can do, more so than I trust New England
- 9:57Speaker 2: and this line warrants that, right, that makes sense that
- 9:59Speaker 2: they're still a minus two and a half minus two
- 10:01Speaker 2: and a half minus three favorite of most books. But yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 2: like this is another game where me and you obviously
- 10:07Speaker 2: don't like betting favorites. This is not the line. Like
- 10:11Speaker 2: there's a lot of dogs. I just like this week,
- 10:12Speaker 2: so I'll be on Buffalo, But it's not a game
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'm forcunate in there. I just think they're the better team,
- 10:17Speaker 2: and I really wish someone would just explain it. You know,
- 10:21Speaker 2: Mayo that if you win this game, you could get fired,
- 10:26Speaker 2: Like I do think the noise would be turned up
- 10:28Speaker 2: by the fan base. I don't know if Kraft could
- 10:30Speaker 2: avoid that, because it's it's inexcusable to start may here
- 10:34Speaker 2: in my opinion, especially the ship, the hits he's been taking,
- 10:36Speaker 2: Like he got his bell rung last week and he
- 10:39Speaker 2: came right back in. I think the first play he
- 10:40Speaker 2: was in he ran down the field, which is awesome,
- 10:43Speaker 2: like shows he's got art and he's a tough kid.
- 10:45Speaker 2: But at the same time, what's what are we doing here?
- 10:48Speaker 2: Like are we really gonna waste this kid in this
- 10:50Speaker 2: type of game where I just I'm just so against it.
- 10:53Speaker 2: So yeah, from from the betting side Chat two and
- 10:56Speaker 2: a half, I'll bet the Bills, but with very small confidence.
- 10:59Speaker 2: We're betting in misrubisky.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah, the Crafts have just lost a lot of credibility
- 11:05Speaker 1: with fans over the last twenty four months between the
- 11:08Speaker 1: documentary in which it seemed like Bob Kraft was throwing
- 11:12Speaker 1: Belichick under the boss. Sticking with Mayo in this spot
- 11:17Speaker 1: just could be another blow to the confidence of fans
- 11:20Speaker 1: and the ownership group. Nothing's going to change, It's not
- 11:23Speaker 1: like they're going to get rid of the team, but
- 11:26Speaker 1: this is a real chance for them to make a
- 11:28Speaker 1: substantial move to improve their organization, especially if the Patriots
- 11:33Speaker 1: win this game and lose the first pick. Oh my gosh,
- 11:36Speaker 1: Houston and Tennessee. For seventeen weeks, Simon, we have avoided
- 11:42Speaker 1: the Titans. It might be our greatest success. They have
- 11:46Speaker 1: shown value against power ranking power rankings in nearly every
- 11:51Speaker 1: game they've played. In fourteen of those games you alluded
- 11:55Speaker 1: to this, they did not cover this spread. No matter
- 11:59Speaker 1: what happens in this game, they will go down as
- 12:03Speaker 1: the worst against the spread team since we've been tracking this.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Maybe in NFL history. Evan can confirm that later in
- 12:11Speaker 1: the show, they're currently two and fourteen in week eighteen. Simon,
- 12:18Speaker 1: they are our Simon says, and now we got word
- 12:23Speaker 1: that the wise guys are all over the Titans. Give
- 12:27Speaker 1: it to me, weigh it on me.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, And it is interesting when you're reading about what
- 12:32Speaker 2: the Texans are going to do in this spot and
- 12:34Speaker 2: who they are arresting. Obviously CJ is not playing this
- 12:38Speaker 2: a couple of key starters, Nico Collins isn't playing a
- 12:40Speaker 2: bunch of guys winners, says, not playing on the defense.
- 12:43Speaker 2: When you go on the flip side for Tennessee Titans,
- 12:45Speaker 2: everybody's playing like the coach. Not that he scoffed at
- 12:48Speaker 2: any but he kind of laughed. It's like, no, they're
- 12:50Speaker 2: about to get whatever you said, six month vacation after this,
- 12:54Speaker 2: not direct quote from him, but basically gave us a slanted,
- 12:58Speaker 2: like a little look to the reporter being like what
- 13:01Speaker 2: we yeah, exactly what kind of stupid question is that?
- 13:04Speaker 2: So we know the stats, right, Will Levis two and
- 13:07Speaker 2: nine against the spread, Mason Rudolph zero to five against
- 13:11Speaker 2: the spread this season, So it doesn't matter what quarterback
- 13:14Speaker 2: is playing This team is just all around bad. But
- 13:17Speaker 2: like we talked about, they're in this unique position of
- 13:21Speaker 2: people don't understand how desperate teams get for a win,
- 13:23Speaker 2: Like it's it's it's a different type of high, but
- 13:26Speaker 2: it's a high that they crave, right, It's it's something
- 13:28Speaker 2: that you just need it. Every week you lose, the
- 13:32Speaker 2: world looks a little darker, everything feels a little shittier.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Everything sucks, and you just know, especially they talk to
- 13:38Speaker 2: guys in the locker room, why they've been trying so
- 13:40Speaker 2: hard these last couple of weeks, because again they have
- 13:42Speaker 2: not been playing for anything Tennessee. But every week, even
- 13:45Speaker 2: though they've been losing, they still play really hard. I
- 13:48Speaker 2: really think that is something that like you turn on
- 13:49Speaker 2: the tape you can see it. I mean their defense,
- 13:51Speaker 2: like you've been talking all season. I know I laughed
- 13:54Speaker 2: at it, but their defense is like second or third
- 13:56Speaker 2: and giving up yards this season at least amount of yards,
- 13:58Speaker 2: like they've been really good at not teams not moving
- 14:01Speaker 2: the ball against them. The USUS have been right just
- 14:03Speaker 2: giving up touchdowns, like they can't stop teams, it seems
- 14:05Speaker 2: like in the red zone. So yeah, this is to
- 14:08Speaker 2: me is all about the number. There is one really
- 14:10Speaker 2: public book out that there still had Tennessee at plus
- 14:12Speaker 2: one and a half last night. Now even them have
- 14:15Speaker 2: moved to minus one. So even even at this point,
- 14:17Speaker 2: they've followed the professional money because I'm looking the action
- 14:20Speaker 2: app right now. All the tickets, all the tickets are
- 14:23Speaker 2: on Houston. But the money is basically split right, It's
- 14:27Speaker 2: it's it's slanted towards this Tennessee team. So yeah, would
- 14:31Speaker 2: have we would have liked it if they were a dog. Yes,
- 14:34Speaker 2: we definitely mean Chad hate lines that flip. It just
- 14:36Speaker 2: has never worked out for us for the most part.
- 14:38Speaker 2: But and this one, I feel confident that the smart
- 14:41Speaker 2: money is coming on the right side. The money is
- 14:43Speaker 2: moving the way it should. And there's another team Tennessee
- 14:46Speaker 2: that you know, if the Patriots win, they lose, they
- 14:49Speaker 2: could get the one seed. These guys don't care, like
- 14:51Speaker 2: they're like, like we just talked about the same thing
- 14:53Speaker 2: in New England, Like they're they're kind of going the
- 14:55Speaker 2: idea of we just want to win, and I get it.
- 14:58Speaker 2: That's that's part of football, right. No one cares about
- 15:00Speaker 2: the draft picks. They don't know if we be on
- 15:01Speaker 2: the team next year. So this Tennessee team, I just
- 15:04Speaker 2: I could see them trying really hard. On the flip
- 15:06Speaker 2: side with Houston, I just I'm happy to bet against
- 15:09Speaker 2: their second team. There's just a team that to me
- 15:12Speaker 2: was already back going to this game. The whole vibe
- 15:14Speaker 2: of Houston was bad. Now we're getting in their scrubs
- 15:17Speaker 2: for the second team. So I like Tennessee in this matchup.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Simon goes back to what I said at the beginning
- 15:23Speaker 1: of the show. People just want to live up to
- 15:25Speaker 1: their potential. They just want to try if they want
- 15:29Speaker 1: to feel satisfied with the effort. They want to go
- 15:32Speaker 1: to bed at night know that they gave it their
- 15:34Speaker 1: all and feel good that what they exercised during a
- 15:42Speaker 1: week paid off in some capacity. And the Titans have
- 15:46Speaker 1: just not felt that. And the Titans, from everything I've read,
- 15:49Speaker 1: I've been digging in, you know, reading all that I
- 15:51Speaker 1: can about coaching moves, GM moves, trying to get anything
- 15:55Speaker 1: about some incentive for this week, seems very likely that
- 15:59Speaker 1: the title they're going to bring back their GM, they're
- 16:02Speaker 1: going to bring back their coach, and they're going to
- 16:05Speaker 1: try to find the quarterback that the three of them
- 16:07Speaker 1: together can build this franchise as they they're really thinking about.
- 16:11Speaker 1: They got a new stadium opening in two years, how
- 16:13Speaker 1: can they get better. They're going to give that team
- 16:16Speaker 1: the opportunity and that executive team the opportunity to turn
- 16:20Speaker 1: this thing around and get the right player. They don't
- 16:25Speaker 1: have to worry about sort of tanking or not playing
- 16:30Speaker 1: up to the best of their ability. Agree, I'm with you.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I'm with you. Another one, Jacksonville at Indy. Still the
- 16:38Speaker 1: word on Anthony Richardson. So when you see the reports
- 16:42Speaker 1: about him that he couldn't walk last week, yeah you
- 16:45Speaker 1: couldn't Yeah a week and well yeah, like so. But
- 16:49Speaker 1: they're still saying if he is healthy, he'll playing. But
- 16:54Speaker 1: like we we lean Jags, I think we feel strongly
- 16:58Speaker 1: about it, more strongly about it this week or now
- 17:02Speaker 1: than we did on Tuesday. To me, it's more of
- 17:06Speaker 1: a vibe than anything on the field, right. Jags have
- 17:10Speaker 1: been trying hard, they've been keeping games close. Mac Jones
- 17:15Speaker 1: has been outperforming bad quarterbacks. They won, and the Colts
- 17:21Speaker 1: culturally just feel like they're a little bit lost. And
- 17:24Speaker 1: I think that game took the wind out of them
- 17:27Speaker 1: and is raising a lot of questions about will Shane
- 17:30Speaker 1: Steiken still be there. What is their future at quarterback?
- 17:34Speaker 1: What is happening with their GM who you mentioned the
- 17:36Speaker 1: other day, Chris Ballard has a reputation as a great
- 17:40Speaker 1: GM has not won the division in eight years, a
- 17:44Speaker 1: division that has terrible teams year in and year out.
- 17:48Speaker 1: This is not the NFC north of twenty twenty four.
- 17:51Speaker 1: So they are locked into Trevor Lawrence as their quarterback.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Draft position is not going to mean as much for them.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Normal based on last week's performance, we'd fade the Jags
- 18:03Speaker 1: and want to bit the Colts. But I don't feel
- 18:05Speaker 1: that way this week.
- 18:08Speaker 2: No, And honestly it's because it is the Colts that
- 18:10Speaker 2: the Jags they historically have matched up really well them.
- 18:13Speaker 2: It was just like we talked about last week with
- 18:14Speaker 2: the Egos and Cowboys. There's just certain teams that teams
- 18:17Speaker 2: can match up really well against. And that same goes
- 18:19Speaker 2: here for this Jacks team that they've always even when
- 18:22Speaker 2: there's you know, ups and downs with the quarterbacks of
- 18:25Speaker 2: their quarterbacks hurt, they've always played really well against this
- 18:27Speaker 2: Colts team and kept games close and usually their games
- 18:31Speaker 2: end up being shootouts, like especially when it's in Indianapolis.
- 18:34Speaker 2: So this to me is all about the number, Like
- 18:37Speaker 2: its number is way too big, way too much. Respective
- 18:40Speaker 2: even if it is Anthony Richardson, I could see it
- 18:42Speaker 2: dropping because I just think the books give more respect
- 18:45Speaker 2: to Joe Flacco. But you know, four and a half
- 18:48Speaker 2: for way too many points for us to pass them.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Like I love this number. I love this Jacks team
- 18:54Speaker 2: and what we just talked about, Like I just the
- 18:56Speaker 2: vibes for this Jacks team just feels so much better.
- 18:59Speaker 2: We're like that I'm going in and winning this game.
- 19:01Speaker 2: That makes more sense to me, so much more than
- 19:03Speaker 2: the Colts winning this game. Colts to me, like they're
- 19:06Speaker 2: they're done. Like half their team feels like they're already
- 19:09Speaker 2: half foot out the door and they're ready to go
- 19:10Speaker 2: on vacation. They're just disgusted with the front office, they're
- 19:13Speaker 2: disgusted with the coaching. And you know, that was one
- 19:16Speaker 2: of the least prepared teams I've seen all season last
- 19:18Speaker 2: week against that Giants team, Like even going back watching
- 19:21Speaker 2: the tape, just defensively, Gus Bradley was just awful. Like, again,
- 19:25Speaker 2: that's a man that's guaranteed to be let go and
- 19:28Speaker 2: on a different team. Next year. So yeah, we're just
- 19:31Speaker 2: simply playing the number year Chad like the match for
- 19:33Speaker 2: this Jags team and just the way they've been down
- 19:35Speaker 2: the stretcher, it's just a team that has not quit.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Surprisingly they've improved in some ways. And I know the
- 19:40Speaker 2: dirty secrets kind of is out right now that Doug
- 19:42Speaker 2: Peterson's basically gone and they're gonna have the guy I
- 19:45Speaker 2: know you want, Ben Johnston from Lions and they're apparently
- 19:48Speaker 2: gonna give him just whatever he wants, which is really
- 19:51Speaker 2: interesting to know. Will he leave the division NFC North
- 19:55Speaker 2: and go down there where it's like I don't know. Again,
- 19:57Speaker 2: he's all line up perfectly for the Bears, where it's like,
- 20:00Speaker 2: you guys are getting the guy who knows the Detroit
- 20:02Speaker 2: offense and how to take down the big bad wolf
- 20:04Speaker 2: for your division. Him going to him and going to
- 20:06Speaker 2: the Jags would be buried the Bears. The Bears just
- 20:08Speaker 2: don't spend enough money or give him enough to do
- 20:11Speaker 2: whatever he wants. And he leaves to go to Jacksonville
- 20:13Speaker 2: just because if they're gonna let him make decisions on
- 20:16Speaker 2: the draft, that's a big deal. Like first time at coach.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Now he gets to make decision on the draft as well.
- 20:20Speaker 2: So yeah, for Jacksonville. We all know that these players,
- 20:24Speaker 2: they seem like they like Doug Pearson. One more, one
- 20:26Speaker 2: more game for Dougie give them. Give me plus four
- 20:28Speaker 2: and a half on this Jaguars team.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Simon, I one hund believe that Ben Johnson is going
- 20:38Speaker 1: to the Jags. I don't think. I don't think the
- 20:41Speaker 1: Bears have a shot right now. You know, I don't
- 20:45Speaker 1: have any insight, but just knowing the Bears history, knowing
- 20:49Speaker 1: how the Bears manage the coaching interview process, knowing that
- 20:54Speaker 1: they have not been able to overcome, knowing the coaches
- 20:58Speaker 1: have not been able to come overcome over ownership issues
- 21:02Speaker 1: in multiple generations. Other than Mike Dicka.
- 21:06Speaker 2: John Fox, he's the last one.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Now. Lovey Smith took him to the Super Bowl.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yes, you're right, love was great now and he got
- 21:14Speaker 2: fired in the worst way. Right. They have bad Karmer
- 21:17Speaker 2: from that fire, and of Lovey.
- 21:18Speaker 1: The Bears fired a coach. You took him to the
- 21:21Speaker 1: Super Bowl and was ten and six the year he
- 21:23Speaker 1: was fired. Yeah, so they've got they've I think they've
- 21:27Speaker 1: got executive staff dysfunction, right, because we don't really know
- 21:34Speaker 1: how involved. Kevin Warren is going to be the new president.
- 21:36Speaker 1: The president in any of these decisions, they've always been cheap.
- 21:41Speaker 1: You can go to the AFC South if you like
- 21:45Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence. That's the one critical factor. Ben Johnson has
- 21:50Speaker 1: to like what he has in Trevor Lawrence. Right, the
- 21:51Speaker 1: Jags are invested in him. We don't think he's been
- 21:53Speaker 1: that great. He has underperformed. But if you like him
- 21:56Speaker 1: and think he can run your offense, you got a
- 21:58Speaker 1: better chance in winning than you do in the NFC
- 22:01Speaker 1: North over the next three to four years. And that's
- 22:03Speaker 1: your horizon as a coach. So would not be surprised
- 22:06Speaker 1: at all if he blew off the Bears and went
- 22:08Speaker 1: to Florida where it's warm and you don't pay taxes,
- 22:11Speaker 1: and you know you got a better shot.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Though, what's that I keep going, I don't hear you.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Said before we get to Washington at Dallas. These are
- 22:24Speaker 1: the final days of our favorite pick'em contest. Saturday games
- 22:29Speaker 1: are not in the contest this week, but we've got
- 22:32Speaker 1: d Winsenburg in first place with sixty one points and
- 22:36Speaker 1: nine entries at fifty six points or more. A dog
- 22:40Speaker 1: fight to the finish First place is forty grand, second
- 22:43Speaker 1: is ten grand, Third place is five grand. Cash prizes
- 22:48Speaker 1: for the whole top ten. Excited to crown a winner.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It's not going to be us. Hopefully we get the
- 22:54Speaker 1: winner on the podcast, whoever it is. The invite is
- 22:58Speaker 1: open Washington at Dallas. We lean Dallas on Tuesday. The
- 23:01Speaker 1: line has moved in that direction. It's four and a half.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Did you see the clip of Eagles fans cheering Jerry
- 23:09Speaker 1: Jones in Philly last week?
- 23:12Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, ultimate troll job, so.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Good and Jerry's just smiling, laughing, you know, just so funny.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Just great to see Jerry owning it all. I think
- 23:28Speaker 1: it's better than fifty to fifty. Mike McCarthy stays. If
- 23:31Speaker 1: it's Jerry Jones's choice, he might leave because his contract
- 23:35Speaker 1: is up and he can go look anywhere he wants
- 23:37Speaker 1: to look. But fascinating subplot here. I do think there's
- 23:41Speaker 1: been a sea change and sort of people believing McCarthy
- 23:44Speaker 1: will stay if he has the option and Jerry Jones
- 23:50Speaker 1: wants him to and he decides that's the best option
- 23:52Speaker 1: for him. If he leaves, it might be because he
- 23:55Speaker 1: wants to leave. I don't think that has an impact
- 23:57Speaker 1: on this game. I just thought it was interesting.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw a chef. He talked about how basically
- 24:04Speaker 2: all of his assistants US assistance as well or deals
- 24:07Speaker 2: are done, so he'd basically need to re sign all
- 24:10Speaker 2: the guys on his coaching staff. So yeah, it's as
- 24:14Speaker 2: an Eagles fan, I kind of want them to bring
- 24:17Speaker 2: McCarthy back, just because I fear the unknown that if
- 24:19Speaker 2: they do get a guy like Vrabel, that would be
- 24:21Speaker 2: disastrous for us. But yeah, it's Jerry's in a weird
- 24:26Speaker 2: spot and this Cowboys team is in a weird spot
- 24:28Speaker 2: where it's like me and you both love it because
- 24:30Speaker 2: of the number and the letdown we expect from Washington
- 24:33Speaker 2: in this exact game. But this is another game I'm
- 24:36Speaker 2: betting with very little confidence just because my fear is this,
- 24:40Speaker 2: this Cowboys team is basically just on their last leg.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Like they have guys who've had big injuries, they've come back,
- 24:46Speaker 2: they've played through it at this point, but you can
- 24:48Speaker 2: just tell that, like even that Eagles game, they just
- 24:50Speaker 2: were not They were not into that game at all.
- 24:52Speaker 2: So this is gonna be another game where the public
- 24:55Speaker 2: is going through hammer the Commanders. We'll see if they
- 24:57Speaker 2: get lucky again, Chad, because this is again another good
- 24:59Speaker 2: number against a team that's overvalued in the Commanders. And
- 25:04Speaker 2: you know, we've seen it all season, like the fourth
- 25:06Speaker 2: down variants for the Commanders has just been absolutely insane.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I think in that game we bet, I don't know
- 25:12Speaker 2: if they went three for three or two for two,
- 25:14Speaker 2: but it felt like every time they needed a big
- 25:16Speaker 2: play on fourth down, it happened for him. And you
- 25:20Speaker 2: know it's historical, the the sex sex rate they've had
- 25:24Speaker 2: on fourth downs. It's just insane this season. So we
- 25:28Speaker 2: know what this BET's gonna come down to. It's gonna
- 25:30Speaker 2: come down to fourth downs again. It's just it's just
- 25:32Speaker 2: how it's been betting against this Washington team. If they capitalize,
- 25:35Speaker 2: me and Chatter most likely gonna burn. But this is
- 25:38Speaker 2: just a number that's way too big, Like I think
- 25:41Speaker 2: i'd probably if this was a fully healthy with Ceedee Lamb.
- 25:44Speaker 2: You know again, obviously this is different if Dak's playing,
- 25:47Speaker 2: but if it's ce d Lamb with Cooper Rush, Okay,
- 25:49Speaker 2: we make this what three three and a half? Yeah,
- 25:52Speaker 2: the point the point bump makes sense, right, there should
- 25:55Speaker 2: be four four and a half at this point, but
- 25:57Speaker 2: it's just a spot where it's you know, we've seen
- 26:00Speaker 2: the storical data, the teams that are playing for playoff
- 26:03Speaker 2: positions going against a team that you know, way below
- 26:06Speaker 2: five hundred, that have not been good this year, they
- 26:08Speaker 2: tend to cover in this week. That's why we love
- 26:10Speaker 2: betting these type of dogs in the final week of
- 26:12Speaker 2: the season. Just historically we've seen it, right, teams kind
- 26:15Speaker 2: of play up to the moment, try to be the spoiler. Obviously,
- 26:18Speaker 2: they're not going to knock Washington out of the playoffs here,
- 26:20Speaker 2: but if they do beat them, you know, Washington now
- 26:22Speaker 2: is go face Philly. That's that's a big deal. So
- 26:25Speaker 2: pretty pretty interesting what the Cowboys might do. Hear everything
- 26:28Speaker 2: I've read, it seems like, you know, Michael Parson is playing,
- 26:30Speaker 2: all their starters are playing. The only guy really missing
- 26:32Speaker 2: is going to be CD. Obviously.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Yeah, and this Commander's defense is terrible. And I'm not
- 26:38Speaker 1: afraid of betting Cooper Rush as a four and a
- 26:41Speaker 1: half point dog in this spot. Even without CD. He's
- 26:45Speaker 1: just been an effective backup quarterback and the Eagles have
- 26:49Speaker 1: been the one team that he really can't right unlock right,
- 26:53Speaker 1: And you look at the other games and I think
- 26:55Speaker 1: that the problem for this year is that his first
- 26:58Speaker 1: game was against the Eagles and it was so bad
- 27:00Speaker 1: that it depressed the market and the Cowboys, and I
- 27:02Speaker 1: think a lot of people have missed the value because
- 27:05Speaker 1: they're only thinking about that first Eagles game. And then
- 27:07Speaker 1: he started to play a little bit better and they
- 27:09Speaker 1: had to run, and then this past week he hit
- 27:11Speaker 1: the Eagles again, And now I think the Commanders are
- 27:15Speaker 1: overvalued because of what they did against the Falcons, but
- 27:19Speaker 1: also what the Cowboys did against the Eagles. I still
- 27:23Speaker 1: think you're getting pretty nice price. And the Cowboys here,
- 27:27Speaker 1: I don't know if it's going to be in our
- 27:28Speaker 1: final five, but I'm not as afraid of the Cowboys
- 27:31Speaker 1: in this spot as you are, or the Commanders for
- 27:35Speaker 1: that matter. I think their defense is pretty bad.
- 27:37Speaker 2: And I just went not to cut you off. On Tennessee,
- 27:39Speaker 2: that line's running now, so basically everywhere that had them
- 27:41Speaker 2: as a dog basically has them up to minus one
- 27:44Speaker 2: and a half now. So oh wow, Yeah, the money,
- 27:46Speaker 2: the money started to come in now here on Tennessee.
- 27:49Speaker 1: All right, Carolina at Atlanta.
- 27:52Speaker 2: One more time.
- 27:55Speaker 1: It's time to celebrate. Look, Carolina plus eight, we both
- 28:00Speaker 1: love the Panthers. On Tuesday, I would imagine we still
- 28:04Speaker 1: love the Panthers. The lines move from eight and a
- 28:05Speaker 1: half to eight. We cannot quit the Panthers right now, Simon.
- 28:11Speaker 1: To remind people of the stakes. If the Bucks win,
- 28:15Speaker 1: they're in. The Bucks lose then and the Falcons win,
- 28:20Speaker 1: they're in. The games are at one o'clock, there will
- 28:24Speaker 1: be some scoreboard watching if it's at any point. Bucks
- 28:28Speaker 1: are blowing out the Saints and there's no chance the
- 28:30Speaker 1: Falcons are going to get in. The tide in this
- 28:32Speaker 1: game could change, we could find the back door, but
- 28:35Speaker 1: generally we just like Bryce Young, We're going to continue
- 28:38Speaker 1: to back Bryce Young. Give us the Falcon, give us
- 28:41Speaker 1: the Panthers.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Yeah, we can't quit them. And honestly, and my confidence
- 28:47Speaker 2: in this one has been coming from the breakdown of Pennix.
- 28:49Speaker 2: And I know, again it's only two games, it's a
- 28:51Speaker 2: very small sample. I get that, but it's actually pretty
- 28:55Speaker 2: interesting statistically, how you know, I might have overrated them
- 28:59Speaker 2: a little bit through his first game, and that he
- 29:01Speaker 2: actually isn't that great of a passer right now, and
- 29:04Speaker 2: he's still kind of working three things which we expect,
- 29:06Speaker 2: right It's it's his second now this will be his
- 29:09Speaker 2: third start. So that's that's a lot of the confidence
- 29:11Speaker 2: to me is that you know, this is a huge
- 29:14Speaker 2: spread for a guy like him. And we saw in
- 29:16Speaker 2: that Giants game, right that they were kind of losing
- 29:19Speaker 2: that fighting, they couldn't find themselves and all of a sudden,
- 29:22Speaker 2: you know, drew through a pick six and that kind
- 29:24Speaker 2: of reset that whole game where Okay, once they got
- 29:27Speaker 2: the lead again, they can lean back onto the running.
- 29:29Speaker 2: So that would be the key for me. It's like,
- 29:31Speaker 2: can they stop Robinson, which no one has done in
- 29:33Speaker 2: the last ten weeks, right, Like, Robinson has barbably been
- 29:37Speaker 2: a top three running back now this season and he's
- 29:40Speaker 2: been dominant and we know me and Chad no, because
- 29:42Speaker 2: we've been betting them all season. Panthers cannot stop the run,
- 29:45Speaker 2: like their best.
- 29:46Speaker 1: One hundred yards rushing aloud in five straight weeks.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Right. So again, it's because when their best d lineman
- 29:54Speaker 2: got knocked out either week one or Week two, and
- 29:56Speaker 2: it was like okay for the season. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 29:59Speaker 2: the end of their defense right there, Like that's that's
- 30:01Speaker 2: the guy for them, and that's the fear here. That's
- 30:05Speaker 2: the reason mean and Chad are getting eight points here
- 30:07Speaker 2: just because of that. It's uh we hope bryceh Ian
- 30:10Speaker 2: canna keep this in this but this is really gonna
- 30:12Speaker 2: come down to stop in the run and putting this
- 30:14Speaker 2: on in panics, like you need to stack the box.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Make this kid beach with his arm, just because, like
- 30:18Speaker 2: I said, he's high variance in his throats, like he
- 30:21Speaker 2: throws uncatchable balls and you know it. I don't know
- 30:25Speaker 2: if it looks weird to you, but seeing him throw
- 30:27Speaker 2: left it is different. Like we talked all the time,
- 30:29Speaker 2: that is a difference for these receivers catching a left
- 30:32Speaker 2: your throat then already thrown, it just looks different coming
- 30:34Speaker 2: out of his hand to the receivers. So this to
- 30:37Speaker 2: me just feels like an inflated line, especially because Carolina
- 30:40Speaker 2: just got rolled absolutely blown out the week before and
- 30:43Speaker 2: they've been good to us. Bouncing back then Bernie me
- 30:46Speaker 2: and Chad one last time would not be shocking to
- 30:48Speaker 2: the least. But I just can't help myself. I believe
- 30:51Speaker 2: in Bryce shawng believe in their offense, and I really
- 30:53Speaker 2: do think will be ey there have a chance to
- 30:55Speaker 2: when this game out right or easily have a chance
- 30:58Speaker 2: to back throw the summer. It just feels way too big,
- 31:00Speaker 2: way too much respect to this Atlanta team.
- 31:02Speaker 1: I also don't worry about effort in this game. This
- 31:05Speaker 1: is a team where they know the coach is going
- 31:07Speaker 1: to be back. They're starting to get a pretty good
- 31:09Speaker 1: sensuve of who their quarterback is. They've built momentum in
- 31:12Speaker 1: the latter half of the year. They don't want to
- 31:15Speaker 1: end the year on a shitty game with a bad
- 31:18Speaker 1: taste in their mouth. They want I think it matters
- 31:21Speaker 1: to win the last game of the year if you're
- 31:22Speaker 1: a bad team and be able to see positivity and
- 31:26Speaker 1: have confidence and feel like you have some kind of momentum.
- 31:30Speaker 1: So I don't have a problem back in the Panthers
- 31:32Speaker 1: here at all. It's gonna suck, We're gonna do it.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Chicago plus tennant Green Bay. This line has moved up.
- 31:41Speaker 1: You like the Bears on Tuesday at nine, it's gone
- 31:44Speaker 1: up to ten. The Packers need to win and they
- 31:48Speaker 1: need the Commanders to lose to move up from the
- 31:51Speaker 1: seventh seed to the sixth seeds. So there will be
- 31:53Speaker 1: some scoreboard watching and there are some trends that back
- 31:58Speaker 1: the Bears here. This was one of the saddest things
- 32:02Speaker 1: of all the things about the Bears that make me sad.
- 32:05Speaker 1: ESPN this week did a survey of one hundred and
- 32:07Speaker 1: eleven NFL players of the hardest places to play in
- 32:13Speaker 1: the NFL. One two and three were Kansas City, Seattle,
- 32:18Speaker 1: and Minnesota. Actually four was Philly, by the way, and
- 32:24Speaker 1: Matt Mitchell. Five was Buffalo. But the Bears Soldier Field
- 32:34Speaker 1: tied for thirty first after the Oakland Colosseum. I know
- 32:38Speaker 1: the games in Green Bay this week, but I'm thinking
- 32:40Speaker 1: about the Bears. How pathetic is that tie for thirty
- 32:43Speaker 1: first after Oakland Colisseum. I'll remind you they don't play
- 32:47Speaker 1: NFL games in Oakland anymore.
- 32:50Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, it's pretty shocking, just because I always
- 32:53Speaker 2: thought Chicago is just the toughest place to play, because
- 32:56Speaker 2: not only the weather's brutal, but you guys, even when
- 32:59Speaker 2: you're terrible, you sell out and the fans are loud.
- 33:01Speaker 2: So that's that's interesting. Maybe they're not as loud as
- 33:03Speaker 2: we perceive on TV.
- 33:04Speaker 1: They ruined the stadium when they built the new Alien
- 33:07Speaker 1: spaceship inside a silver field. It ruined the acoustics. It's
- 33:12Speaker 1: not as loud as it used to be. And also
- 33:14Speaker 1: like the team's just bad. It's been bad for so long.
- 33:17Speaker 1: People leave games early, and if it's really really cold,
- 33:22Speaker 1: then people who have season tickets are selling their tickets
- 33:25Speaker 1: at the end of the year. So you're getting you know,
- 33:28Speaker 1: randoms who sometimes are super fans. Sometimes it's a holiday gift.
- 33:34Speaker 1: They're just taking their kids. Like I know it because
- 33:36Speaker 1: like I have so many friends who have season tickets
- 33:39Speaker 1: or have had season tickets over the past of forty years.
- 33:43Speaker 1: So it's not as loud as you would think.
- 33:46Speaker 2: It is.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Not like eighty five when I was sitting in the
- 33:50Speaker 1: twenty yard line against the Giants and the Rams during
- 33:53Speaker 1: the playoffs.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Those are the days. Take me back to eighty five, baby,
- 33:57Speaker 2: damn it.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Eighty five, duge on Gail, Oh my god, it was
- 34:02Speaker 1: just amazing.
- 34:04Speaker 2: People were smoking cigarettes in the stadium still damn. Those
- 34:07Speaker 2: were the days.
- 34:08Speaker 1: They were like they were passing me drinks and I was,
- 34:10Speaker 1: you know, fifteen years old.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Put a little hair in your chest. You're right, I
- 34:15Speaker 2: don't want to bet this one. I don't know what
- 34:17Speaker 2: was wrong with you. On Tuesday. I did bet this
- 34:19Speaker 2: Chicago team. But no pros are on this game. I
- 34:23Speaker 2: feel like most guys are avoiding this game for different games.
- 34:25Speaker 2: And after reading the Emage article gave me littlegit zero
- 34:29Speaker 2: confidence in this Bears team. I think they're one and
- 34:31Speaker 2: ten straight up in their last eleven against this Green
- 34:34Speaker 2: Bay team. And it's just, you know, like you said
- 34:37Speaker 2: on Tuesday, that just it's not even a rival anymore, right,
- 34:40Speaker 2: It's just so one sided. It's it's brutal. So I
- 34:44Speaker 2: might be eating these words come Sunday and the Bear
- 34:47Speaker 2: shock the world and do finally pulling up set off
- 34:48Speaker 2: And I'm an idiot because I didn't hammer this and
- 34:50Speaker 2: stick my chest out in this one. But there's just
- 34:53Speaker 2: other dogs I like better. And you're right, like the
- 34:56Speaker 2: fear for me is that locker room for Chicago. It's
- 34:59Speaker 2: just totally out, like they're just totally gone, totally giving
- 35:02Speaker 2: up on this team in this front office, and they
- 35:05Speaker 2: do know that this is not the coaching staff for
- 35:07Speaker 2: next year, So you're right, there's really no incentive other
- 35:10Speaker 2: than personal incentives to play for this one. So yeah,
- 35:13Speaker 2: hate it all.
- 35:13Speaker 3: All.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Everything coming out of Chicago right now was just so negative.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I don't want to be putting money on this one.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Reminder, Bears have not won a road game on a
- 35:20Speaker 1: Sunday since our friend Nick Foles did it for them
- 35:24Speaker 1: in December of twenty one. All Right, the game that
- 35:27Speaker 1: we talked about earlier, Sharp Calls New York Giants plus
- 35:30Speaker 1: two at Philly Philly was fourth toughest to play a
- 35:34Speaker 1: Buffalo fifth Saquon will not be playing. How do you
- 35:37Speaker 1: feel about that?
- 35:38Speaker 2: A wise man? One set of best chad records can
- 35:41Speaker 2: be broken. Banners hang forever. So yeah, what do I
- 35:46Speaker 2: want him to break the record so I can shove
- 35:48Speaker 2: it down Giants' faces?
- 35:50Speaker 3: Like?
- 35:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's been a great day if you're
- 35:53Speaker 2: just an ultimate hater of your division and talking shit
- 35:56Speaker 2: to one another. It's been a fun week, especially on Reddit,
- 35:58Speaker 2: where you know, Giants fan's trying to make its like, well,
- 36:03Speaker 2: Eric Dickerson did it in sixteen games, so it's not
- 36:05Speaker 2: real record. Well I guess OJ did it in fourteen games.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Is that the real record? Or Jim Brown who did
- 36:10Speaker 2: it in ten games? Is that the real record? I mean,
- 36:12Speaker 2: what are we doing here? So it's been a fun
- 36:14Speaker 2: week of just trying to act like they're not pissed
- 36:17Speaker 2: off for you. I don't know, Giants fans they got
- 36:19Speaker 2: to be down the worst out of any fan base
- 36:21Speaker 2: right now in football, especially after losing the number one
- 36:24Speaker 2: pick last week. It was just it's just been too good.
- 36:26Speaker 2: So yeah, Saquon, I could see it in his eyes
- 36:29Speaker 2: and the way he talked about it. He's bummed, right.
- 36:31Speaker 2: He wants that legacy, like he said, that's that's something
- 36:34Speaker 2: amazing to have attached to his last name. But as
- 36:37Speaker 2: someone that knows that Saquan has never had any playoff success,
- 36:40Speaker 2: I think once he gets his first playoff win, that
- 36:42Speaker 2: feeling will go away. He'll realize, like, dude, the ultimate
- 36:45Speaker 2: goal here is to hang that banner. And yeah, Eagles
- 36:49Speaker 2: right now, I mean, so we'll talk about next week,
- 36:51Speaker 2: Like hurts is still not either a concussion protocol like
- 36:54Speaker 2: it's it's it's it's bad if he's if he's got
- 36:57Speaker 2: a really back concussion like that, because that's just those
- 37:00Speaker 2: are the symptoms that just don't go away. Now he's
- 37:02Speaker 2: two weeks in, so yeah, between that, Sequan, you know,
- 37:07Speaker 2: this Eagles team using this as a bye a week.
- 37:09Speaker 2: That's great. Giants just popped back up to plus three
- 37:12Speaker 2: at a couple of really public books, So some smart
- 37:15Speaker 2: money now has coming in on the Eagles here this morning,
- 37:18Speaker 2: which is pretty surprising, but nothing changing my position. I
- 37:21Speaker 2: think the Giants they're going to play hard, and the Eagles,
- 37:25Speaker 2: you know, they're gonna play the rookies, I guess and
- 37:27Speaker 2: a couple other guys. But for the most part, they're
- 37:29Speaker 2: gonna be sitting almost all their starters, especially across the
- 37:31Speaker 2: offensive line. And we expect to be Tamer McKee at
- 37:34Speaker 2: quarterback again, guy making his first start his career. I
- 37:38Speaker 2: know he came in and did well against the Cowboys.
- 37:40Speaker 2: I feel like at that point the Cowboys kind of
- 37:42Speaker 2: had to quit on that game. So yeah, we expect
- 37:46Speaker 2: the Giants to keep shooting themselves in the foot, win
- 37:48Speaker 2: this game, give themselves worst draft capo. But and again,
- 37:51Speaker 2: Evan had an amazing thing in his article about Brian Dable,
- 37:54Speaker 2: Like the guy has been money in these final weeks
- 37:56Speaker 2: of the season. I believe he's five to zero against
- 37:58Speaker 2: the spread in the final two weeks of the season, right, Evan,
- 38:00Speaker 2: So his teams play hard for him. He doesn't really
- 38:03Speaker 2: care about draft position. He's he's got one thing on
- 38:06Speaker 2: mind that's to win. So yeah, this this matchup for
- 38:10Speaker 2: the Eagles, I was really worried about they were going
- 38:12Speaker 2: to play Saequon. But after Ceri in his conversation yesterday,
- 38:16Speaker 2: you know for a fact he's not playing guys like
- 38:18Speaker 2: Lane Johnson's not playing. That's gonna be a big deal, right,
- 38:22Speaker 2: They're gonna be wrestling so many key starters. So yeah,
- 38:24Speaker 2: just take the points here. I just think I get
- 38:27Speaker 2: where the publics come from. They're like, there's no way
- 38:29Speaker 2: Giants went back to back weeks. I get it, but
- 38:32Speaker 2: we always see these final weeks are just weird, right,
- 38:34Speaker 2: These these teams like the Eagles, the best SISCO team
- 38:36Speaker 2: of football, that is not gonna be the same team
- 38:38Speaker 2: on Sunday, right, They're they're not gonna show They're not
- 38:41Speaker 2: gonna show anything defensively, and they're not gonna show anything offensively. Right,
- 38:44Speaker 2: They're just gonna start preparing for the following week. So
- 38:47Speaker 2: I love this spot for this Giants team.
- 38:49Speaker 1: I saw a clip of.
- 38:51Speaker 3: A J.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Brown of Tanner McKee realizing A J. Brown had thrown yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 1: the first touchdown pass end of the stands and he
- 39:01Speaker 1: was handling a great He's like, oh, that's too bad.
- 39:04Speaker 1: And then AJ Brown, who felt so bad about it,
- 39:07Speaker 1: ran over told him that he got it back said
- 39:11Speaker 1: he was so sorry, Like it was just it was
- 39:13Speaker 1: so genuine and authentic, like how badly aj Brown felt
- 39:18Speaker 1: about it. I thought it was a great scene because
- 39:20Speaker 1: like you get to see real connection and like how
- 39:26Speaker 1: these players recognize what a big deal it is to
- 39:29Speaker 1: throw a touchdown pass in the NFL, and it doesn't
- 39:33Speaker 1: matter if you're the first string, second string, third string,
- 39:36Speaker 1: or the high profile, one hundred million dollar temperamental receiver.
- 39:42Speaker 1: He recognized he screwed up and felt terrible for a
- 39:45Speaker 1: guy who has a special moment and fixed it and
- 39:48Speaker 1: then went over and apologize. I thought it was just adorable.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it was hilarious. The guy who called the ball
- 39:53Speaker 2: was like a very classic South Philly looking guy.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Like yes, like I got you, I got you.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Flex into him being like you guys are the heart
- 40:01Speaker 2: and sold this team. And then of course Big Don
- 40:04Speaker 2: was the one that came over and got the ball.
- 40:05Speaker 2: It just had all so yeah, very funny.
- 40:08Speaker 1: That dom thing is is like so easy to explain
- 40:13Speaker 1: as a Philly phenomenon and hard to explain for anyone
- 40:18Speaker 1: who doesn't follow sports or understand Philly sports culture, Like yeah,
- 40:24Speaker 1: there's nobody in the stands. Who if Big Don came
- 40:26Speaker 1: over and said, give me the ball, wasn't going to
- 40:29Speaker 1: give Big Dom the ball, you know what I mean.
- 40:32Speaker 2: I just always think it's funny where you think about
- 40:34Speaker 2: all the stuff we don't know about what Big Dom does.
- 40:36Speaker 2: You know, he's the guy showing up at three am
- 40:38Speaker 2: at the police station to get the guy and drive
- 40:40Speaker 2: him home. Like he just he's a do it all guy,
- 40:43Speaker 2: And I just love that he's become such a personality
- 40:45Speaker 2: in Philly.
- 40:45Speaker 1: I think he's the first guy the cops call. I
- 40:47Speaker 1: think he's the first guy the agents call. I think
- 40:49Speaker 1: he's the first guy anyone calls if there's anything going
- 40:51Speaker 1: down and they need to fix something right away. La
- 40:54Speaker 1: Chargers at the Las Vegas Raiders. So this line's come
- 40:56Speaker 1: down a little bit. You said, the wise guys are
- 40:59Speaker 1: liking the Raiders. I get it. I get it, dude,
- 41:02Speaker 1: Jim Well, I get like, you know, thinking, what are
- 41:07Speaker 1: the Chargers playing for here? They do have some seeding
- 41:09Speaker 1: to play for. They get the five seed if they
- 41:12Speaker 1: win and the Steelers lose, so they will know like
- 41:14Speaker 1: what they're playing for by the time this game kicks off.
- 41:17Speaker 1: It's one of the few games where seating will be,
- 41:21Speaker 1: where the stakes will be determined, and they won't have
- 41:23Speaker 1: to scoreboard watch. But Harbaugh went on the Let's Go
- 41:26Speaker 1: Show with with you know Jim Gray, and Belichick said
- 41:29Speaker 1: he was playing to win the game. That's what I
- 41:31Speaker 1: would fully expect from Jim Harbaugh. I would take that
- 41:34Speaker 1: to me. And he's not resting his starters, and if
- 41:37Speaker 1: there are still stakes to be had, I don't mind
- 41:39Speaker 1: betting the Chargers here. It's like the reason why road
- 41:42Speaker 1: favorites have been winning this year is usually because of
- 41:46Speaker 1: good coaching and limited mistakes from their quarterback. That's what
- 41:50Speaker 1: the Chargers have. It's why we liked him against the
- 41:53Speaker 1: Patriots last week. I think you're getting a lot of
- 41:55Speaker 1: love for the Raiders right now because they're on a
- 41:57Speaker 1: two game win streak. That doesn't fade if the Chargers
- 42:01Speaker 1: have something to play for, and we'll know by the
- 42:03Speaker 1: time we put our picks in.
- 42:05Speaker 2: I like the Chargers the Raiders, not that they just
- 42:08Speaker 2: beat Jacksonville, but they feel like they kind of got
- 42:10Speaker 2: away with one there right there was like a last
- 42:12Speaker 2: fourth quarter drive and they stole that game and then
- 42:14Speaker 2: they beat the Saints. Other than that, we've seen when
- 42:17Speaker 2: they've played any team that's semi well coached or outside
- 42:21Speaker 2: the Chiefs, right, the Chiefs. Their games are always weird
- 42:23Speaker 2: against the Chiefs. We knew that we took them against
- 42:25Speaker 2: the Chiefs in that exact matchup, but anyone else you
- 42:28Speaker 2: go through their schedule, they just get dominated. Like well
- 42:31Speaker 2: coached teams that are smart, they have a good quarterback
- 42:34Speaker 2: just dominate this Raiders team. That's exactly what we have here.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Like we talk coming to the season, I had doubts
- 42:39Speaker 2: about Herbert being consistent for good reason. Even if he's
- 42:42Speaker 2: been a little inconsistent the second half, he's been great.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Like since he's come back kind of healed from that injury,
- 42:47Speaker 2: that ankle injury, especially the last couple of weeks, you've
- 42:50Speaker 2: really seen him be so confident, pushing the wall downfield,
- 42:52Speaker 2: be totally in tune with this offense at this point,
- 42:54Speaker 2: Like he looked so comfortable in this game. And I'm
- 42:57Speaker 2: happy to know the Chargers hopefully will not be sitting
- 42:59Speaker 2: there because to me, they should just keep their rhythm going. Like, yeah,
- 43:03Speaker 2: they're a team that basically no one's gonna believe for
- 43:05Speaker 2: them in the playoffs. Right, they're a year early at
- 43:07Speaker 2: this point, that makes sense why people don't believe in them,
- 43:11Speaker 2: especially when we're talking about Lamar, Josh Allen and the Chiefs.
- 43:14Speaker 2: It's like, Okay, if it's Mahomes versus him in this
- 43:18Speaker 2: exact scenario, we just think Mahome is gonna get the
- 43:19Speaker 2: best of them at the end of that game. But
- 43:21Speaker 2: in these type of scenarios when he's playing bad teams,
- 43:23Speaker 2: I just feel like Herbert shines, and same with Harball.
- 43:26Speaker 2: So maybe this line movements because what you just said,
- 43:28Speaker 2: maybe the the pros where have been in Pittsburgh being
- 43:32Speaker 2: in Cincy, maybe that's the thought here where it's just
- 43:34Speaker 2: like they're combining these two because they're like, well, the
- 43:36Speaker 2: Chargers will sit their starters because they have nothing to
- 43:38Speaker 2: play for. But you know that's that's a decision, meaning
- 43:42Speaker 2: like you just said, we can make Sunday morning if
- 43:43Speaker 2: we need to. But I'm happy to lock this line
- 43:46Speaker 2: in now because say they do get blown out Pittsburgh,
- 43:50Speaker 2: couldn't this line go up to six? I don't know.
- 43:54Speaker 2: I just I find it very interesting that it has
- 43:57Speaker 2: moved so much. And yeah, I just I love this
- 44:01Speaker 2: charge of team, especially they're playing a bad a bad team.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Their coach is horrible. He's a psychopath. He's not going
- 44:06Speaker 2: to take his foot off the gas. I just feel
- 44:07Speaker 2: like they're gonna go out there and try to whoopball
- 44:09Speaker 2: in this division. Foe.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Jim Harbaugh is my New Year's resolution spirit animal. I
- 44:15Speaker 1: want to live up to the full, to my full potential.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Jim Harbaugh says they're attacking Week eighteen with an enthusiasm
- 44:22Speaker 1: unknown to mankind.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Don't gamble, don't associate with gamblers. Avoid it like the plague.
- 44:33Speaker 1: That's how I'm attacking this show. We didn't come into
- 44:36Speaker 1: the show thinking, all right, it's Week eighteen, can't really
- 44:39Speaker 1: make any predictions. We digested it.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Yeah, we did the work.
- 44:45Speaker 1: We watched the press conferences, looked at the trends. We're
- 44:50Speaker 1: coming in here. We're playing to win the week. We
- 44:54Speaker 1: want to go five and out. We want to live
- 44:56Speaker 1: up to our fullest potential. Every single we are the
- 45:01Speaker 1: Jim Harball led Los Angeles Charters of the Favorites Pickham Contest,
- 45:06Speaker 1: Podcasting World.
- 45:08Speaker 2: You know me, regardless of what's going on, I'm a
- 45:10Speaker 2: foxhole guy. I commit to a team, I commit to
- 45:12Speaker 2: a city. I'm a foxhole guy.
- 45:14Speaker 1: I want to talk about the rams in the Seattle.
- 45:16Speaker 1: I did like him. I liked Seattle at three on Tuesday,
- 45:20Speaker 1: I did make it my executive decision. It's not been
- 45:23Speaker 1: a great category for me this year, but I would
- 45:26Speaker 1: like the full credit at three. It moved to foward
- 45:30Speaker 1: during the show because I'm sharp and people hear what
- 45:33Speaker 1: I'm saying and then they immediately start following me. It's
- 45:37Speaker 1: now six and a half, Like, I'm not sure why
- 45:41Speaker 1: the move happened so late. McVeigh had telegraphed he was
- 45:44Speaker 1: going to rest his starters. He had said it in
- 45:46Speaker 1: his podcast earlier in the week. I talked about it
- 45:49Speaker 1: on Tuesday. He said he was looking forward to seeing
- 45:51Speaker 1: Jimmy Garoppolo and Blake Korum play, so like now he's
- 45:55Speaker 1: confirmed it. I also mentioned Gino has four million in
- 45:59Speaker 1: incentives that he's going for that are relatively easy to get,
- 46:03Speaker 1: so we know he'll be playing. We like the Seahawks
- 46:07Speaker 1: and playing for a new coach. They want to put
- 46:11Speaker 1: good stuff on tape, they want to build momentum. It's
- 46:14Speaker 1: up to six and a half now. We're not going
- 46:16Speaker 1: to bet it put in the contest, but it's amazing
- 46:20Speaker 1: to me that it took so long for it to
- 46:21Speaker 1: get that far, but I.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Think you just know why it did because he basically
- 46:26Speaker 2: confirmed it, and that's when you really saw the line
- 46:29Speaker 2: shoot up to six six and a half, Like when
- 46:31Speaker 2: he came out and basically said, everyone's sitting and I'm
- 46:34Speaker 2: excited to see Jimmy be playing in this game. It's
- 46:36Speaker 2: like that was to me, that was when the line
- 46:38Speaker 2: really moved, like literally right when he had that press conference.
- 46:40Speaker 1: So yeah, but it isn't this about finding the edge, right,
- 46:43Speaker 1: Like we had intel and we had information and McVeigh
- 46:48Speaker 1: had sort of telegraphed this when it was at three.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Why are people waiting so long? That's when you want
- 46:54Speaker 1: to bet, when you feel like you can get a
- 46:56Speaker 1: sort of get a jump on competition.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I mean, though maybe they were just
- 47:02Speaker 2: waiting for him to really confirm it before they wanted
- 47:04Speaker 2: to pay powers. I say powers, Yeah, I mean it
- 47:08Speaker 2: depends on when you're been a certain amount of money, though,
- 47:10Speaker 2: you want to be sure what you're betting on. So yeah,
- 47:13Speaker 2: this is a game where I'm happy we can avoid
- 47:14Speaker 2: it now because it's moved too much. I honestly didn't
- 47:16Speaker 2: want to have too much invested in this one just
- 47:18Speaker 2: because you know, Gino has not looked right since that
- 47:21Speaker 2: knee injury, and that's the god honest truth, Like he
- 47:23Speaker 2: didn't look right the week before. And you know at three,
- 47:28Speaker 2: like you said that to me was an amazing value
- 47:31Speaker 2: and that was like a good number because it is
- 47:33Speaker 2: him with starters going up against a backup of the
- 47:36Speaker 2: Rams team. And we know how top heavy the Rams
- 47:38Speaker 2: are as well, like they're just like Houston, there are
- 47:40Speaker 2: stars in the scrub team. They're just a team of
- 47:43Speaker 2: really good players and the bottom of it's really bad, right,
- 47:46Speaker 2: they're really thin once you start going through the layers.
- 47:48Speaker 2: So the the Rams here though there are they are
- 47:52Speaker 2: a young team, so I wouldn't be shocked if they
- 47:53Speaker 2: do play a lot of the young starters on defense.
- 47:56Speaker 2: But offensively, what I read that it's basically going to
- 47:59Speaker 2: be the rookie running back and then you know backup
- 48:03Speaker 2: quarterback and no Cooper Cup, no Puoka the coup, and
- 48:06Speaker 2: it's like you go down the line, it's like, Okay,
- 48:09Speaker 2: can Jimmy keep them in this game competitively? Sure, he
- 48:12Speaker 2: can maybe keep this close, but do I see him
- 48:13Speaker 2: winnning this out right now? So yeah, I agree with
- 48:16Speaker 2: your play at three at six and a half, that
- 48:17Speaker 2: just feels way too rich to back the Seahawks team.
- 48:20Speaker 1: By the way, I forgot to mention that the Los
- 48:22Speaker 1: Angeles Chargers will be our foxhole bet we are clearly
- 48:27Speaker 1: on the opposite side. Otherwise, guys more in that one
- 48:30Speaker 1: than any other game this week. Los Angeles Chargers are
- 48:34Speaker 1: the foxhult. Meanwhile, our Big Balls better the week presented
- 48:45Speaker 1: by Tommy John. If you've got the balls, Tommy John
- 48:48Speaker 1: has the support, great game, start, great underwear, and Tommy
- 48:51Speaker 1: John makes the greatest. That was me giving my Big
- 48:55Speaker 1: Balls announcement to the fullest of my potential. Kansas City
- 49:02Speaker 1: plus ten and a half at Denver it got up
- 49:05Speaker 1: to eleven on Wednesday, there was a little bit of buyback.
- 49:09Speaker 1: We're on the Chiefs here. I don't understand the Chiefs
- 49:15Speaker 1: at sixteen and one. I know who's playing and who's not,
- 49:21Speaker 1: but they still have the best strategic offensive mind in football.
- 49:27Speaker 1: A quarterback who is not a fourteen point difference from
- 49:33Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes in Carson Wentz. This is just too big
- 49:37Speaker 1: of a number. It makes It makes no sense to
- 49:39Speaker 1: me whatsoever.
- 49:42Speaker 2: No, and it's gonna be the most public dog of
- 49:45Speaker 2: the week, right because I think everyone's in agreement with
- 49:47Speaker 2: us of this line's way too big. And I think
- 49:50Speaker 2: they originally moved it this high because there were whispers
- 49:53Speaker 2: that Carson Wentz was gonna sit in this game too,
- 49:55Speaker 2: that they didn't want to risk injuring him either, and
- 49:56Speaker 2: they were gonna play their third string, and the ady
- 49:58Speaker 2: k my Es change said no, it's it's it's Carson.
- 50:02Speaker 2: The weirdest thing is that it hasn't moved, like it
- 50:04Speaker 2: went down from a couple of books out at eleven. Yeah,
- 50:05Speaker 2: I went to ten and a half, but I thought
- 50:08Speaker 2: this would be eight and a half. Eight after the
- 50:10Speaker 2: announcement it was Carson, You're right. It's like, is he
- 50:13Speaker 2: really fourteen to fifteen points worse than Mahomes. It's it
- 50:18Speaker 2: feels like it's a bit dramatic, especially when you know
- 50:21Speaker 2: we've come to realize, especially as Mahomes is, you know,
- 50:24Speaker 2: especially you can't duplicate how he's so confident, great in
- 50:27Speaker 2: the pocket, everything like that. But we talk it's injurying.
- 50:31Speaker 2: The scheme is something that's very very very very important
- 50:33Speaker 2: to this team, and you know, obviously Mahomes now have
- 50:37Speaker 2: the numbers this year because they basically just run the
- 50:39Speaker 2: ball the whole second half and just ball control team.
- 50:41Speaker 2: So I don't think he made I don't have to look,
- 50:43Speaker 2: but I'm pretty sure he missed the Pro Bowl, right,
- 50:45Speaker 2: makes the problem right, And it's like, you know, guy
- 50:48Speaker 2: comes off two Super Bowls, goes fifteen to one, but
- 50:51Speaker 2: he doesn't have the stats because their team is just
- 50:53Speaker 2: so smart. He knows they don't need to force balls downfield.
- 50:56Speaker 2: They can just run the second half. You'll never have
- 50:57Speaker 2: the stats to make the pro bowning know, that's just
- 51:01Speaker 2: part of it. It's a team sport. That's why we
- 51:03Speaker 2: love football, right, It's the ultimate team sport. So yeah,
- 51:06Speaker 2: this is a line that me and Chad love, gonna
- 51:09Speaker 2: have the money line around Robin. This is just the
- 51:12Speaker 2: best part of the final week of the season. Like
- 51:14Speaker 2: a team like this that no one's gonna believe it
- 51:15Speaker 2: can kind of shock the world here. But unfortunately people
- 51:18Speaker 2: do believe this one. Like I said, this is gonna
- 51:20Speaker 2: be the most public dog most likely the week because
- 51:22Speaker 2: I think everyone's just like me and Chad, they're all
- 51:24Speaker 2: just like best team in football over ten points. Take
- 51:27Speaker 2: that best team, Like I'm with them, like it's very caveman,
- 51:30Speaker 2: very simple. Don't overthink this one. Just take the points
- 51:33Speaker 2: with this and I be shocked, shocked if this doesn't
- 51:36Speaker 2: go below ten before kickoff. I just can't see what
- 51:39Speaker 2: professional is putting in real money on the standard team
- 51:41Speaker 2: at this big of a favorite with a rookie quarterback,
- 51:44Speaker 2: which essentially is another playoff game. Like this is a
- 51:47Speaker 2: legit playoff game. It might not be to the Chiefs.
- 51:48Speaker 2: And yeah, they're playing backups here, but you know, andy joke,
- 51:52Speaker 2: it's fun playing spoiler. If they can play spoiler here,
- 51:55Speaker 2: he's gonna try to do it. So I love this
- 51:57Speaker 2: number for this Chiefs team.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Shocked shocked, tell you that is our Tommy John Big
- 52:02Speaker 1: Balls Better of the Week, Simon. It's a whole new year,
- 52:05Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. I don't know if you know this,
- 52:08Speaker 1: but one year ago my life was total kass, and
- 52:12Speaker 1: it was only after months of searching that I came
- 52:16Speaker 1: to realize the source of this chaos inferior low quality underwear.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Flippant resolutions come and go, but the choice to permanently
- 52:29Speaker 1: transform your life for the better can start right this second.
- 52:35Speaker 1: And with a special sale for our listeners, Tommy John
- 52:39Speaker 1: is standing by to make that transformation happen. With thousands
- 52:44Speaker 1: of transformative five star reviews everyone can see, Tommy John
- 52:49Speaker 1: will help put you on a path to becoming a
- 52:52Speaker 1: whole new person for the long year ahead. Simon, why
- 52:56Speaker 1: will you be giving the gift of Tommy John in
- 52:59Speaker 1: the year twenty twenty five. It's the gift that lasts
- 53:03Speaker 1: Right now. You can shop Tommy john dot com slash
- 53:06Speaker 1: favorites for the holidays and get twenty five percent off
- 53:09Speaker 1: your first order. Save twenty five percent at Tommy john
- 53:12Speaker 1: dot com slash Favorites. That's Tommy john dot com slash Favorites. Okay,
- 53:20Speaker 1: Last one on the board Minnesota plus three now at
- 53:24Speaker 1: bet three six five at Detroit. You liked Minnesota on Tuesday,
- 53:28Speaker 1: you had good reasons for doing it. I don't want
- 53:32Speaker 1: to bet this game just because I want Detroit to
- 53:34Speaker 1: win so badly. I'd rather just pass miss the edge
- 53:38Speaker 1: on Minnesota than bet against the Lions. You mentioned sharp
- 53:41Speaker 1: calls wise guys like Detroit.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:44Speaker 1: My feeling here is just this is a team that
- 53:49Speaker 1: is impossible not to love. You get so few windows
- 53:54Speaker 1: in the NFL to live up to your potential and
- 53:58Speaker 1: I think the Lions have that shot right now. Very
- 54:01Speaker 1: good chance. Aaron Glenn has gone next year, He's done
- 54:04Speaker 1: it as well as he can with third and four
- 54:07Speaker 1: stringers and guys off the street. Likely Ben Jhonson is gone.
- 54:12Speaker 1: Not that they're not replaceable, but this transformation. The entire
- 54:17Speaker 1: country has been behind this team turning it around, and
- 54:23Speaker 1: I just look, I'm a sentimental guy. I'm rooting for
- 54:29Speaker 1: these three coaches and this team to win the Super
- 54:33Speaker 1: Bowl together, reach the height. Everyone can go off to
- 54:37Speaker 1: their own separate ways, graduate into something else, but I
- 54:41Speaker 1: want them to achieve it together. I want them to
- 54:43Speaker 1: win the number one seed. I want them to rest,
- 54:46Speaker 1: I want them to get their defensive players back. I
- 54:50Speaker 1: don't want to bet this game because if the right
- 54:52Speaker 1: side is Minnesota, I don't want to be right.
- 54:57Speaker 2: And you're very nice to say that. Them losing their
- 55:00Speaker 2: assistant you know coaches won't matter, but it will. Like
- 55:03Speaker 2: it's we've seen it time and time again. I mean
- 55:06Speaker 2: I lived it as an Egles fan, Like we went
- 55:08Speaker 2: and won the Super Bowl, Yeah right, We lost our
- 55:10Speaker 2: OC in our DC and we basically just went into hell.
- 55:14Speaker 1: And well, I don't know what you're you're talking about
- 55:17Speaker 1: you won the Super Bowl with Nick Foles and Doug Peterson.
- 55:21Speaker 1: You lost the Super Bowl and then lost your coordinators.
- 55:24Speaker 1: I can't remember who the coordinators were when Doug Peterson
- 55:27Speaker 1: was the coach.
- 55:28Speaker 2: No, your your favorite guy is uh coaching the Colts well.
- 55:33Speaker 1: But that's when that's when they lost with Sirianni you
- 55:38Speaker 1: lost and Steichen.
- 55:40Speaker 2: And you know this The silver line and hope is
- 55:43Speaker 2: the Eagles were the first team in NFL history to
- 55:46Speaker 2: have a different whole, different coaching staff and make a
- 55:48Speaker 2: Super Bowl between five years. So like it can happen.
- 55:50Speaker 2: You can lose your coaching staff and get back there
- 55:52Speaker 2: within five years. I mean it's happened before, but our
- 55:55Speaker 2: circle data shows us. It's like it's it's a big
- 55:58Speaker 2: deal losing these key pieces as coaches. And you know,
- 56:02Speaker 2: not that the lines are gonna be desperate, but they
- 56:06Speaker 2: have to know this, Like it's now that I'm thinking
- 56:09Speaker 2: about though they've drafted so well that maybe they can't
- 56:11Speaker 2: combat it, but it's like this is the year it's
- 56:13Speaker 2: all lined up. You have a really great defensive mind
- 56:16Speaker 2: that you know you have no you should have no defense,
- 56:19Speaker 2: Like it's it's incredible what they have done even winning
- 56:22Speaker 2: all these games down the stretch here because you know
- 56:25Speaker 2: they they have lost so many pieces here and you
- 56:29Speaker 2: know this is you're right, Chad, It's like I get
- 56:32Speaker 2: your emotion in this bet. You know, who doesn't want
- 56:35Speaker 2: to see Detroit win? This be the one seed that's
- 56:37Speaker 2: their best pass. But I just think at this point,
- 56:40Speaker 2: to me, Minnesota is the better team. You can get
- 56:44Speaker 2: three right now at bet three sixty five. And we
- 56:46Speaker 2: already talked about like if you have, like, guy, do
- 56:48Speaker 2: I have a bunch of futures tied to this Detroit
- 56:50Speaker 2: team winning this division? You have to hedge, Like this
- 56:54Speaker 2: is such a unique, great opportunity to hedge on a
- 56:57Speaker 2: Vikings team that to me is the better team right now,
- 57:00Speaker 2: and they're the dog. And you know, as much as
- 57:04Speaker 2: you want to respect home field advantage we talked about
- 57:08Speaker 2: this year, there is no real home field advantage right,
- 57:10Speaker 2: Like that's kind of gone out the door, especially when
- 57:12Speaker 2: there's two teams like this that can move the ball,
- 57:14Speaker 2: Like the offense here is gonna be the difference and
- 57:17Speaker 2: we've seen that. Right The total is the biggest total,
- 57:19Speaker 2: like EVM saying since was a twenty twenty one it's
- 57:22Speaker 2: it's insane how high this total is. So you not
- 57:26Speaker 2: want it take it? It makes I get it, like if
- 57:28Speaker 2: you want to take a step back. Anyone out there
- 57:30Speaker 2: doesn't want to take this. But to me, you fine,
- 57:32Speaker 2: a game that's going to be a shootout, you almost
- 57:34Speaker 2: always take the points, Like unless you know you're really
- 57:37Speaker 2: committed to this Detroit team, go money line then, like,
- 57:41Speaker 2: don't don't mess around the two and a half because
- 57:42Speaker 2: I talk all the time how I found important. I
- 57:44Speaker 2: think two and a half is. And you even go
- 57:46Speaker 2: back and look at the first time they played. Me
- 57:47Speaker 2: and Chad survived that Detroit bet right, we did handicap
- 57:51Speaker 2: it right, but it was madness. There was like a
- 57:54Speaker 2: strip sacked touchdown at the end of the game. All
- 57:56Speaker 2: of a sudden Detroy had to drive the field again
- 57:57Speaker 2: and get another touchdown. Then it was just pure madness.
- 58:00Speaker 2: And that's why I think this game is gonna be
- 58:02Speaker 2: like you're never gonna feel comfortable. I don't. I can't see
- 58:04Speaker 2: this being a blow out on either side. I would
- 58:05Speaker 2: be shocked Detroit blow out the Vikings or the Vikings
- 58:08Speaker 2: blow out Detroit. It would honestly be shocking. But I
- 58:11Speaker 2: just think the fact that you have a team on
- 58:13Speaker 2: short rest already banged up. I mean, they've just had
- 58:17Speaker 2: a grueling long season here, but against a Minnesota team
- 58:20Speaker 2: that you know, not that they're going to be fresh
- 58:22Speaker 2: in this game, but like you know, they dominated their
- 58:26Speaker 2: last game against Green Bay. They basically took the foot
- 58:28Speaker 2: off the guests in the fourth quarter and a little
- 58:30Speaker 2: sweat there. But I just I just think it. The
- 58:32Speaker 2: line is up perfectly this Minnesota team. So yeah, I'm
- 58:35Speaker 2: clearly unpoc committed. I love them at plus three Minnesota,
- 58:38Speaker 2: and you know at two and a half, if Chattas
- 58:40Speaker 2: won't put him in a contest, I get it. Like
- 58:41Speaker 2: I'm more confident at three three and a half with
- 58:43Speaker 2: this Minnesota team i am at two and a half.
- 58:45Speaker 2: But yeah, this is the dream scenario for the NFL
- 58:49Speaker 2: two fourteen and two teams fight for the one seed.
- 58:51Speaker 2: It doesn't get much better than this.
- 58:53Speaker 1: I'm so excited to watch this game. It's like I
- 58:57Speaker 1: love football. I can't. It's gonna be a great It's
- 59:01Speaker 1: gonna be a great game. All right, we'll we'll review,
- 59:04Speaker 1: we'll put in our picks. After the show. We're gonna
- 59:07Speaker 1: want to get some numbers before they move. Even more
- 59:11Speaker 1: people will be able to track that. We'll finalize them
- 59:13Speaker 1: on Sunday morning. Each week we give out a two
- 59:16Speaker 1: team money line underdog Parla. Bet three sis five boosts
- 59:19Speaker 1: the odds and highlights it on their site all week
- 59:22Speaker 1: and long under both game pages. Both games are eligible
- 59:26Speaker 1: for bet three six five's early payout promo, where your
- 59:28Speaker 1: moneyline pick gets Marcus win if that team takes a
- 59:32Speaker 1: seventeen point lead, even if they lose. So if you
- 59:35Speaker 1: want to bet this, better to bet three six five.
- 59:37Speaker 1: This week's boost did parlay Jags and Giants. That's right,
- 59:42Speaker 1: that's what we're asking. Can't imagine? Can't imagine what the
- 59:45Speaker 1: trading analyst at boot three six five will boost that one?
- 59:49Speaker 1: To find the boost under the Jags or Giants game
- 59:52Speaker 1: pages on bet three six five, simon our money line
- 59:56Speaker 1: underdog round Robin, come up hey.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Day, hallau yo waa pay day. There will come up
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: pay day some day.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Some day there will come up pay day, hallau yoa payday.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: I will come up pay.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Day some day.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: I would say, we want to do the Chiefs, Panthers, Giants, Jags.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: I remember you liked Cowboys, right and if you want
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: to take the Cowboys out and go with Minnesota, I support.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: It, all right. I can do that because I know
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: how much you love Minnesota. I hate like when you're
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: so locked in and I'm clearly being emotional about it.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: I'm locked in, but I'm scared. I think anyone's scared
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: betting against this Detroit team. I mean, man Campbell just
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: dominates in this exact scenario. What is he having? Is
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: he seven to zero in night games with golf against
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: the spread?
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: I think it's something like that where it's against the
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Vikings too. GoF hasn't lost against the spread against in Viking.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: It's not good chatter. It's every trend I read from Evan.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: I was like, God, damn it, but I can't help myself.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: All right, forget it. Then let's go with the underlaw.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: The underdog round robin is going to be Kansas City, Jags, Giants, Cowboys, Oh, Carolina,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Carolina Jags, Cowboys, Giants, Carolina Jags, Cowboys, Giants, Kansas City.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: All right, Jesus, that was Scoot for Let Scoot, Well,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: we gotta do your biggest bets. Then I want to
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: do scooter.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: Lt biggest bets. So far. I mean, I hit the
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Cincinnati in one early. I've not bet in much since.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: That definitely one of my bigger bets. Jaguars Giants, probably
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: gonna end up with Minnesota's one of my bigger bets
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: if especially if it stays at three. So yeah, I
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: would say those three really jump out for Sunday.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Wow, that's truly disgusting. That's gonna be it. You're gonna
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: be terrible.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: I even mentioned Tennessee because I just know no one's
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: gonna follow that one. But yeah, I'm heavy on Tennessee
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: as well.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Oh my god, you're gonna have such an excruciating Sunday.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: If you were drinking last Sunday, I forget about this Sunday.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: When all whole is lost, all this left is relief.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Let's play scoots Roulette.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Scoot Roulette. Last week you were on Minnesota. I was
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: on Green Bay, our first head to head of the year.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Very upsetting for me. Who would you like to pick
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: in scoot Roulette?
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I mean, if you want to double down and take
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Detroy and I take in Minnesota, or you just scare
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: it off.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Now, No, I'll do it.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: You will?
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Yeah? Why not?
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: You're sick dog? Yeah, give me Minnesota. Then whatever you
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: get it, you get two and a half, I get
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: plus three.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Sure, all right, I like that. I like that one.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Now it gives me like a reason to be invested
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: without actually having to be invested as a contest pick.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Before we get to Evan Abrams, if you are participating,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: uh no, this is not accurate. This should have come out.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: We're all good, everything's good. Let's get to Evan Abrams
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: before we get out of here, our director of research.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: You can get the final word, Nigas feel good about something.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: The last word with Evan A.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Brams. We're finished talking.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I mean, if we're betting the Giants, Titans
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: and Jaguars, I'm not sure how much I can help there,
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: but I will give you a few pieces of fun
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: information here. The one thing you guys did say about
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Carson Wentz which I looked up, so ten and a
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: half would actually be his largest spread in any game
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: played ninety three starts. He did it against Lamar in
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: twenty two, So yeah, even a big number for him
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: in his heyday and his post days. And the interesting
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: thing on Sunday Night football, so Vikings fourteen wins win total.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Was six and a half.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: If they get one more win at fifteen, this would
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: be the most over expectations any team has ever finished
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: in the since re alignment in two thousand and two.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: So Vikings had a six and a half win total
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: in the WOW, which is insane. But I'll give you
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: two trends. Since it is Week eighteen, we kind of
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: have a lot of this information on teams to bet
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: and fade at the end of the year. So historically
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: it's been profitable to fade teams who need to win
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: at the end of the regular season. It's a great
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: note from Stuckey that we've been updating the year, So
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: since nineteen ninety eliminated teams playing teams that need to
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: win over the final two weeks of the regular season
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: sixty percent against the spread. Now for Week eighteen, that
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: is the Saints getting about fourteen in the Bucks, the
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Panthers getting eight or nine in Atlanta, and the Jets
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: at about one one and a half or two against
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: the Dolphins. All three of those other teams.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: Need to win.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: And then here's an even broader one which I found
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: in bet Labs, which I found was interesting. So in addition,
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: teams with a win percentage between forty percent and sixty
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: percent Week sixteen or later twenty seven and seventy two
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: against the spread twenty seven percent when they are against
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: opponents with an eight to twenty five percent worst win percentage.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: So basically, in those last two to three weeks of
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: the regular season, you want to be betting these bad
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: teams against good teams. They're failing to cover the spread
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: by three point eight points per game this week. That
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: is the Colts against the Jaguars, the Dolphins against those Jets,
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: the Falcons against those Panthers, and the Bucks against the
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: same type of games, same type of system. But this
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: is just year in and year out, these teams, like
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: who are the Colts last week against the Giants, kind
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: of find themselves not coming through when people expect them to.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: And then I'll end here. We talked a lot about
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: the Titans, So yes, Chad, to answer your question from
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: earlier two and fourteen ats, they're just the only team
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: ever to lose fourteen games against the spreading the season,
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: so that will continue no matter what. But the funny
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: thing is this, so they were favorite. Actually last week
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: they closed it minus one with some late action, so
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: they're about to close its favorites in back to back weeks,
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: and I found this one so ending the year bad.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Only a few teams have had a four plus game
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: ATS losing streak and an ATS one percentage of twenty
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: five percent or worse in Week seventeen or later, which
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: is exactly what you're getting with the Titans. The only
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: two teams before that were the Bucks in twenty two,
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: who actually beat the Panthers, and famously in twenty twenty one,
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: the Jaguars, who upset the Colts and kept them out
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: of the playoffs. The other funny thing is it's actually
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: also the Browns this week. The Browns are I don't
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: know if I didn't even realize this until I look
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: it up. The Browns are four and twelve against the
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: spread this year. They failed to spread in four or
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: five straight games entering this one, so they're pretty much
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: on in the same course as Tennessee. They've been really bad,
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: kind of unexpectedly starting dt are these last few weeks.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: And then I'll leave you with this. So Simon mentioned
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: it with Dable, but I found this interesting. Best Coaches
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: against the Spread Week seventeen and eighteen in our bet
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: Labs database. In two thousand and three, Tomlin fourteen and
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: seven again, ats Dan Campbell seven and one, and again
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Brian Dable at five and oero. The other good ones
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: were McDermott and Peterson. Who I know you guys are
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: on a few of those coaches and teams this week,
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: so maybe that'll turn out on the positive side.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: Feel great, you know what I feel like, Simon, Feel
