- 1:08Speaker 3: It's a podcast, Come twenty five wists stuck in punt
- 1:12Speaker 3: ball and they are a whizz. So yeah, it's too bad,
- 1:16Speaker 3: But what don't you expect.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's a podcast, Come twenty five.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Whistles, twenty line welcome blow it now. We could spend
- 1:28Speaker 1: the first ten minutes talking all about shur Sanders, but
- 1:30Speaker 1: I feel like, if you're coming to us, you don't
- 1:32Speaker 1: really care about that. In the same way, if you
- 1:35Speaker 1: did care, you'd probably listen to somebody who knows more
- 1:37Speaker 1: about what they're talking about. All right, I mean, if
- 1:38Speaker 1: you want to go here, why fell? There's one hundred
- 1:41Speaker 1: sports shows.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Oh we don't know. I don't know why he felt?
- 1:44Speaker 4: Do you know? Uh?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Okay, I can talk for a second if you'd like.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I have theories, but I think my theories are also
- 1:51Speaker 1: based in listening to like people that have knowledge of it.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So it's the only draft I've watched, number one all
- 1:58Speaker 1: seventh round. I texted you I never I will watch
- 2:01Speaker 1: round one, the first ten picks, and then just check
- 2:04Speaker 1: it on my phone.
- 2:05Speaker 4: YEP.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I watched round one entire and we were on here
- 2:08Speaker 1: going I bet Shuder gets picked second in the second round,
- 2:11Speaker 1: number one pick to the Browns didn't, so I'm like, well,
- 2:14Speaker 1: let's just see where he goes. Second round, third, round nine, two,
- 2:17Speaker 1: just second and third rounds, I believe, not fourth, right,
- 2:20Speaker 1: just second, third. So I watch all the way through
- 2:23Speaker 1: and there's no shitter, and that's the that's why anybody's
- 2:25Speaker 1: watching it this point bizarre. And so it comes on
- 2:30Speaker 1: at noon, maybe eleven, maybe noon Eastern.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I think it was noon yea in our times.
- 2:35Speaker 1: So I'm on and I'm watching. There we go round four, nothing,
- 2:39Speaker 1: so I'm in, and then Sharia gets picked in round five,
- 2:41Speaker 1: and I'm still just kind of waiting for yours from
- 2:43Speaker 1: Texas because he still hasn't been picked. You watched all
- 2:48Speaker 1: the way to the end. I've never done it before.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I watched every pick.
- 2:51Speaker 5: I kind of forgot about yours.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I take this back. I watched every pick until yours
- 2:56Speaker 1: to the Dolphins in round seven, and then I turned
- 2:58Speaker 1: it off, but I watched just finished it at that point,
- 3:02Speaker 1: you were right there. I was over and I had
- 3:03Speaker 1: to Arkansas's soft fall.
- 3:04Speaker 3: On okay, the same time Duel TVs.
- 3:07Speaker 4: No.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I had it on my because I don't want to
- 3:09Speaker 1: get up, So I was watching in BEV and have
- 3:11Speaker 1: my phone up on the softball game, and then I
- 3:12Speaker 1: just turned it off the big screen slur Sanders. Two
- 3:16Speaker 1: things cannot be true, but the internet. You only see
- 3:18Speaker 1: the things on the Internet that people are clicking and
- 3:20Speaker 1: caring about. Your algorithms will bring it to you. Number one,
- 3:23Speaker 1: it wasn't a racial thing. After he didn't get picked
- 3:25Speaker 1: in round one, it started to be like, oh, they're
- 3:26Speaker 1: holding the black man down. A couple of things. One
- 3:28Speaker 1: pick one was a black man, and then out of
- 3:31Speaker 1: the top five, three weren't white because you had Jayln Milroe,
- 3:36Speaker 1: you had Dylan Gabriel. The other two white guys Jackson
- 3:40Speaker 1: Dart and Shuck and cam Ward. So it just wasn't.
- 3:43Speaker 1: But that was the narrative that he's black balled. It's
- 3:48Speaker 1: got to be a racial thing as well. It wasn't.
- 3:50Speaker 1: The other thing was the other side was yelling he sucks,
- 3:52Speaker 1: he should fall. He also doesn't suck. So but those
- 3:56Speaker 1: were the two things that were coming front and center.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Because the Internet does, they're gonna surve things that are
- 4:00Speaker 1: getting a lot of interaction, so that's what you would see.
- 4:07Speaker 1: There really wasn't anyone going. I'd like to say that
- 4:10Speaker 1: he probably was a little overvalued, was probably getting a
- 4:15Speaker 1: little bump because of who his dad was. Definitely wasn't
- 4:19Speaker 1: a first round maybe like a mid second, early third,
- 4:21Speaker 1: but definitely doesn't. The sensibility never wins when it comes
- 4:25Speaker 1: to the Internet, never because the algorithms don't put sensibility forward. Yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 1: so he probably was about a late second round pick.
- 4:36Speaker 1: But at that point, if you pick somebody that early,
- 4:41Speaker 1: they're probably going to have an opportunity to play somewhat
- 4:48Speaker 1: early in the first couple rounds. I don't think that
- 4:51Speaker 1: the teams that needed a quarterback wanted a quarterback to
- 4:55Speaker 1: come in and play early, so why would they waste
- 4:58Speaker 1: a second round pick on them. Even the Browns they
- 5:01Speaker 1: made their first pick. It was Dylan Gabriel in round three,
- 5:03Speaker 1: So it was what teams needed a quarterback versus what
- 5:08Speaker 1: teams needed a quarterback to play right away. Pittsburgh was
- 5:10Speaker 1: in the mix the whole time, But they're gonna have
- 5:11Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers. And also you started to hear and I
- 5:14Speaker 1: heard from a couple people that I talked to that
- 5:16Speaker 1: not on television, that I literally texted, And then this
- 5:19Speaker 1: started to come out as well that a lot of
- 5:22Speaker 1: the interviews that he went into should he didn't want
- 5:24Speaker 1: to go play there because he was like, I don't
- 5:26Speaker 1: want to play here, so I can read you some stuff.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Really yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 1: One of them was like he went in once and
- 5:31Speaker 1: was like, answered to FaceTime call in the middle of
- 5:33Speaker 1: the interview.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Oh my goodness.
- 5:35Speaker 3: So it was but is that lack of knowledge of
- 5:39Speaker 3: how to do an interview or just like, really, I
- 5:42Speaker 3: don't want to be here.
- 5:42Speaker 1: So yes, he has the pedigree to understand everything about
- 5:47Speaker 1: playing collegiate and NFL.
- 5:50Speaker 3: No, yeah, yeah, dad knows what's up.
- 5:52Speaker 1: So and then it became such a story. It became
- 5:57Speaker 1: t bow esque, meaning whomever got them, even if it
- 6:02Speaker 1: was going to be the eight string quarterback, that's all
- 6:05Speaker 1: people were going to talk about. And so it had
- 6:08Speaker 1: to be an organization that was willing to deal with
- 6:11Speaker 1: that because now you're going to draft a backup quarterback,
- 6:13Speaker 1: but the backup quarterback is going to bring in all
- 6:16Speaker 1: this attention and so you better have a starting quarterback
- 6:20Speaker 1: that it's not going to phase. But then if you're
- 6:22Speaker 1: the Chiefs, you already got a back. All the teams
- 6:25Speaker 1: that have a Tier eight quarterbacks they don't need, they
- 6:30Speaker 1: don't they don't need even need a backup. I thought
- 6:33Speaker 1: it might be Seattle for a second, because Seattle made
- 6:36Speaker 1: a move, you know, Seattle got they went to Minnesota
- 6:40Speaker 1: and got Sam Darnold. But then Seattle ended up drafting
- 6:45Speaker 1: from Alabama Jaylen Millery and so that was before so.
- 6:48Speaker 3: So they're covered.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So the quarterbacks, the teams that needed a backup quarterback
- 6:52Speaker 1: got theirs, and the Browns were just like fifth around,
- 6:55Speaker 1: like what do we have to lose? I guess if
- 6:58Speaker 1: we can get through the Deshaun Watson and stuff the
- 7:01Speaker 1: worst of the worst, and they keep acting like Deshaun
- 7:04Speaker 1: Watson is going to be in the quarterback room, the
- 7:05Speaker 1: dude's never playing for Cleveland again. First of all, Torn Achilles,
- 7:08Speaker 1: by the way, shout out Dame Lillard towards Achilles. Last night.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Done that sucks. Sucked. Yesterday the sidebar one of the
- 7:15Speaker 1: greatest first round NBA Playoff days I've ever seen. Just
- 7:20Speaker 1: the day, the day yesterday, the day before but the
- 7:22Speaker 1: Lakers losing. That was stupid because Luca got tripped. I
- 7:24Speaker 1: was watching that Luke got tripped. That was stupid. Although
- 7:27Speaker 1: reached into fould on, did you guys watch this game
- 7:29Speaker 1: a little bit?
- 7:30Speaker 3: I mean it was I was at the airport and
- 7:31Speaker 3: I kind of see it at the bar from a distance.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And then he also missed a shot. But Luca got
- 7:35Speaker 1: tripped for sure. The Denver and Clipper series is one
- 7:39Speaker 1: of the greatest prest round series.
- 7:40Speaker 6: Saturday, that game was nuts. That was the first game
- 7:44Speaker 6: I've watched outside of the Celtics from beginning to end.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And now you know, they couldn't tell if Gordon pulled
- 7:49Speaker 1: his fingers off the ball in time, and so it
- 7:52Speaker 1: was one of those where they couldn't reverse it because
- 7:54Speaker 1: they called it on. But they finally found an over
- 7:57Speaker 1: the top view. His finger is off the ball, it is.
- 7:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 7:59Speaker 1: They finally found a cam run from over which they
- 8:01Speaker 1: didn't have because they literally called it because it was
- 8:03Speaker 1: so close they couldn't reverse it, which is the general rule.
- 8:06Speaker 1: But he also was fouled going out. They didn't call
- 8:08Speaker 1: the foul, but his finger was off the ball. They
- 8:11Speaker 1: have like a camera coming straight down.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Oh, I didn't see that one.
- 8:15Speaker 3: I didn't see it like an at some point, but like, hey, guys,
- 8:17Speaker 3: we do have another camera looking up down, looking down
- 8:20Speaker 3: from the top.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Why, guys, guys, what do you.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Want to me?
- 8:23Speaker 1: Do you think Jokic air balled it or threw it
- 8:26Speaker 1: up because it looked like he was shooting.
- 8:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I think he airballed it only because his reaction.
- 8:32Speaker 5: He was pissed.
- 8:33Speaker 6: He looked pissed after the game. They just won, and
- 8:35Speaker 6: I think he's mad because he's like, did I really
- 8:37Speaker 6: just air ball?
- 8:38Speaker 1: And they may have said that. I don't watch any
- 8:39Speaker 1: of the post game. It was awesome. Yeah, that was
- 8:42Speaker 1: the craziest buzzer beater I've ever seen. There was another
- 8:45Speaker 1: buzzer beater dunk I've seen, which was the Suns when
- 8:48Speaker 1: DeAndre Ayden with like two seconds left, dunked it. Game
- 8:51Speaker 1: was over in a playoff game. That was cool because
- 8:53Speaker 1: it was an inbound a couple of years ago. But
- 8:56Speaker 1: this was this is This was awesome And then freaking
- 8:58Speaker 1: the dead Nick. I watched a lot of basketball. See
- 9:01Speaker 1: that freaking Knicks win by one. Karl Anthony Towns yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 1: and Tim Hardaway Junior. Yeah, right for the Pistons. Yes, yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 1: so a good game basketball.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Anyway, Celtics. Nothing about Celtics. Did you watch that one?
- 9:15Speaker 1: No? I just expect them to win. I think Orlando
- 9:18Speaker 1: is going to be good in the future. But Orlando's
- 9:21Speaker 1: kind of like Detroit where they're just getting a little
- 9:23Speaker 1: taste right now. They play hard, and they're good enough
- 9:26Speaker 1: to play in the playoffs and get a little taste
- 9:28Speaker 1: because they'll be back. Some teams you don't want to
- 9:30Speaker 1: because you'd rather than lose and have a better pick. Yeah,
- 9:32Speaker 1: but I do think there is something to these teams
- 9:34Speaker 1: that can play a little bit and get I think
- 9:37Speaker 1: this is gonna be great for Detroit, for these guys
- 9:39Speaker 1: to get in. They're mixing it up with the Knicks.
- 9:41Speaker 1: It's a difficult series. I think this is gonna be
- 9:42Speaker 1: Greatkay Cunningham's awesome. First time I've really watched them on
- 9:46Speaker 1: national television. I'll flip through and do NBA Sunday ticket
- 9:49Speaker 1: I'll watch him sometimes. Yeah, but then he's awesome. This
- 9:51Speaker 1: is a brunts And by the way, it's so freaking good.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 9:55Speaker 1: The fact that I would say, the fact that Dallas
- 9:58Speaker 1: got rid like told him that he could go on
- 9:59Speaker 1: as mary Way well Dallas and kind of makes some money.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Now it all makes sense.
- 10:03Speaker 3: So what about the Thunder though elite he called it.
- 10:08Speaker 1: But they did play game four and Jaw was out
- 10:11Speaker 1: and Scotty Pitt a junior quarter with thirty points. He
- 10:14Speaker 1: played his played his brains out. But yeah, they did
- 10:17Speaker 1: win four in a row.
- 10:18Speaker 4: What's up?
- 10:19Speaker 3: What's up? I am just saying we're on pace, man,
- 10:21Speaker 3: We're on pace.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I love it. I also but I think the Thunder
- 10:24Speaker 1: are gonna I know they're going to The Thunder will
- 10:27Speaker 1: play the winner of the Denver and the Clips, and
- 10:30Speaker 1: that's they're gonna be so tired.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I know they're gonna be exhausted and the Thunder
- 10:34Speaker 3: we've just been chilling. I got a thong on the line, dude.
- 10:39Speaker 4: It's weird.
- 10:40Speaker 1: That's true. That's true. So the shitter thing everybody's talked about,
- 10:44Speaker 1: I think it ended up being he wasn't regarded by
- 10:48Speaker 1: the NFL as high as we were led to believe
- 10:50Speaker 1: by the media. Secondly, he got to a point where
- 10:54Speaker 1: you're not going to draft him that early if you're
- 10:55Speaker 1: not going to play him, so we'll let him fall.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And he got so there's like a purgatory where he
- 11:00Speaker 1: wasn't worth the pick, but then he got so low
- 11:02Speaker 1: that he was just a value pick.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Just sitting there.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Man, it's crazy what the Browns are doing. So they
- 11:07Speaker 1: have they have five quarterbacks, but I don't think they
- 11:09Speaker 1: should when they do the picture, they shouldn't put Watson
- 11:11Speaker 1: up there. He's not playing right. But it's Flacco who
- 11:14Speaker 1: was on the show Friday. Check it out. It's Kenny
- 11:16Speaker 1: Pickett who is talking about he came to start? Can
- 11:19Speaker 1: he Pickt's like, I'm here to start, So we'll see.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Remember he was a first round draft pick from Pittsburgh
- 11:25Speaker 1: to Pittsburgh. He played at Pittsburgh a little didn't play
- 11:29Speaker 1: at Pittsburgh, then played it. Yes, they played in Pittsburgh.
- 11:31Speaker 1: He had little hands, but so Will Campbell a little arms,
- 11:33Speaker 1: and he's like my favorite from the draft here. Yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 1: I gotta tell you that it's not an offensive line pick.
- 11:38Speaker 1: It's not sexy. But I also didn't put two and
- 11:42Speaker 1: two together. That Will Campbell was the guy talking about Amazon,
- 11:44Speaker 1: and that Clipton went viral like weeks ago.
- 11:47Speaker 5: So good.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I love that dude, Yeah I draft him.
- 11:50Speaker 3: What do you say about Amazon?
- 11:51Speaker 4: He said?
- 11:51Speaker 1: If you're a defensive lineman and you give up at
- 11:56Speaker 1: or if you're an offense. If you're a defensive lineman
- 11:58Speaker 1: you get a sack of game, you're you're going to
- 12:00Speaker 1: the league. If you're an offensive lineman, you give up
- 12:02Speaker 1: a sack of game, you're gonna work at Amazon.
- 12:04Speaker 3: That is funny. Yeah, and I remember disrespect to Amazon,
- 12:08Speaker 3: by the way, just telling you we're not gonna be
- 12:10Speaker 3: in the league.
- 12:10Speaker 6: I heard that, uh Rabel worked him out when he
- 12:13Speaker 6: visited and went one on one with him, full pads
- 12:16Speaker 6: and everything, and he Rabel down.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I thought that was a joke. No, you're saying, Brabel. Yeah,
- 12:20Speaker 1: I saw that that Brabel put pads on, but I
- 12:23Speaker 1: thought they were kidding. No, he knocked him down, and
- 12:25Speaker 1: Rabel was like, I love this guy. Is there a
- 12:27Speaker 1: video of this or is it just no?
- 12:29Speaker 4: No?
- 12:30Speaker 5: What's his name?
- 12:30Speaker 4: Son?
- 12:30Speaker 5: Wasn't there to film it?
- 12:31Speaker 4: You know?
- 12:33Speaker 1: Sid Hey, So I'm meant, let me talk about that jokes.
- 12:37Speaker 1: The prank call. Uh yeah, I get it like funny.
- 12:41Speaker 1: But so here's the thing about the prank call. People
- 12:44Speaker 1: are acting like they were calling Shed because he was
- 12:46Speaker 1: on an organ donor lest waiting for a kidney right,
- 12:50Speaker 1: they're like, I feel so bad for him, It's what
- 12:53Speaker 1: a disaster. That mean spirited, yes, a little bit, but
- 12:57Speaker 1: they're idiot kids. But also they're acting like he's there
- 13:00Speaker 1: waiting for a heart transplant and they're flying in the
- 13:03Speaker 1: heart in a chopper and they're letting him know that
- 13:05Speaker 1: it landed and that he's gonna live. Yeah, And someone
- 13:07Speaker 1: calls like, we got your heart, and he's like, yes,
- 13:10Speaker 1: Joe's kidding. No, it's that he didn't get drafted by
- 13:13Speaker 1: the NFL. You're already super famous, a multimily. You know
- 13:15Speaker 1: you're gonna get put on a team at some point.
- 13:18Speaker 1: It wasn't as mean as everybody's acting like. And what
- 13:21Speaker 1: prank call is supposed to be wholesome?
- 13:24Speaker 3: None?
- 13:25Speaker 4: Yeah, none.
- 13:25Speaker 3: It's always mean spirited. But at the same time, though
- 13:28Speaker 3: it is a big moment. I know Shador's rich. I
- 13:31Speaker 3: know he comes from a family with lots of money
- 13:34Speaker 3: and opportunity, but like, this is a big deal for him.
- 13:37Speaker 1: But if you're that cocky in that loud and that brash,
- 13:40Speaker 1: I think other people are going to also try to
- 13:43Speaker 1: be that cocky, that loud and that brash back towards you.
- 13:46Speaker 1: It's just part of the game. I wouldn't have done it.
- 13:48Speaker 1: It was a bit mean spirited, funny though I don't
- 13:51Speaker 1: even know that I felt it was funny.
- 13:52Speaker 3: But did you not laugh when you first saw it?
- 13:54Speaker 1: I just know I did it. I did it, but
- 13:56Speaker 1: I didn't think it was like this natural, this earthquake
- 14:00Speaker 1: tsunami that killed five hundred people, like they were acting like,
- 14:02Speaker 1: of course not. Yeah, Voltaire said, I may not agree
- 14:06Speaker 1: with you, but I will fight to the death for
- 14:07Speaker 1: your right to say it. I feel this way about
- 14:10Speaker 1: this call.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Now.
- 14:11Speaker 1: It just turns out it was an idiot kid whose
- 14:14Speaker 1: dad is on the Falcons is a coordinator. Don't be
- 14:18Speaker 1: in the video dude making the call. He's sitting in
- 14:20Speaker 1: the background. I know he got the from the dad's iPad.
- 14:24Speaker 3: With They're like, dude, you'll never believe what I have.
- 14:27Speaker 3: You have the number, we got to do this, and
- 14:30Speaker 3: then they post it.
- 14:31Speaker 1: It is not a big adeal. It's everybody's making it
- 14:32Speaker 1: out to be.
- 14:33Speaker 3: But even like you know, Shador releasing the video their
- 14:36Speaker 3: side of the video, and and just kind of like
- 14:38Speaker 3: the way everyone handled it, it's kind of everyone's okay
- 14:42Speaker 3: with it. I don't think anyone media now the.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Media is acting like it's the meanest thing ever in
- 14:47Speaker 1: the history of mean things.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Well, I think people are just watching it and saying like,
- 14:50Speaker 3: that's that's mean.
- 14:52Speaker 1: But how about answering facetimes and meetings that that created
- 14:56Speaker 1: the environment to where that could even happen where you're
- 14:58Speaker 1: sitting their way. It doesn't matter. Kit shouldn't have done it.
- 15:00Speaker 1: But I'm never going to come down on a prank caller,
- 15:04Speaker 1: even if I felt like it was kind of mean.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I've done a lot of print calls on my day. Yeah,
- 15:08Speaker 1: and nobody got hurt from it. No, nobody got hurt
- 15:12Speaker 1: from it.
- 15:13Speaker 3: And according to Shador, it didn't hurt his feelings he's
- 15:15Speaker 3: used to it.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Are just like they act like they killed somebody's puppy.
- 15:21Speaker 1: It's so wrong. It's so mean. Again, if it had
- 15:24Speaker 1: been something like, I know you're waiting for this money
- 15:27Speaker 1: to come through so you can pay for your child surgery.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Just kidding, haha, that's mean because it actually is affecting
- 15:32Speaker 1: their life. This isn't Everybody needs to just chill out.
- 15:36Speaker 3: I mean, Shudor could have worked at Amazon. Gotta.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I want to give you a couple of things here.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I just saved some images from different tweets I saw
- 15:46Speaker 1: from over the draft, and I wanted to go through them.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I have like six of them, one by one. Number
- 15:51Speaker 1: one from David Kohen Quinn ures was a perfect one
- 15:55Speaker 1: thousand recruit learned under Steve Sarkisiana made two college football playoffs.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Still undrafted. Will Howard is the reigning national champion who
- 16:02Speaker 1: threw for four thousand yards on seventy three percent passing.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Still undrafted. This is during the draft. Kyle McCord led
- 16:08Speaker 1: the nation four seven hundred and seventy nine yards, still undrafted.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Dylan Gabriel through for eighteen thousand, seven hundred and twenty
- 16:14Speaker 1: two yards in college and got drafted ninety fourth. The
- 16:17Speaker 1: NFL isn't engaged in a conspiracy against Shuldar Sanders. You
- 16:20Speaker 1: just like watching his dad play now. This is in
- 16:22Speaker 1: response to Stephen A. Smith saying this feels like Kaepernick
- 16:24Speaker 1: level collusion.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 16:27Speaker 1: And they were like, how can you throw for this
- 16:28Speaker 1: many yards? And they just but they listed everybody who
- 16:31Speaker 1: out threw him and they were like, well, I haven't
- 16:32Speaker 1: been drafted either.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Yeah. That race stuff's ridiculous.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Rick new Heiseel, Well, in this instance, it is That's
- 16:39Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. I want you to get chopped
- 16:42Speaker 1: up now, I want you to get chopped quoted that
- 16:44Speaker 1: yeah yeah, clear producer ready quote racism, racism, Rick Neuheisel
- 16:51Speaker 1: and lightened listeners on Sirius XM's Full Ride show on
- 16:54Speaker 1: the College Sports Radio Channel this morning. This is from
- 16:56Speaker 1: Hobby and Morales that an NFL coach here you go
- 16:59Speaker 1: told him should took a personal call and possibly a
- 17:03Speaker 1: FaceTime during an interview with an NFL coach. Instead of
- 17:05Speaker 1: ending the FaceTime call, he stayed on it during the interview.
- 17:08Speaker 1: What's balls should He has yet to be selected through
- 17:11Speaker 1: the first two rounds. The next one from BEDMGM.
- 17:16Speaker 4: And so.
- 17:16Speaker 1: First they quoted Chip Brown for Austin who does horn horn?
- 17:22Speaker 3: Yeah, longhorn something.
- 17:23Speaker 1: One of those message boards Chip Brown twenty four to
- 17:26Speaker 1: seven said bleed orange bleed bloods orange bloods maybe yeah yeah.
- 17:31Speaker 4: So.
- 17:31Speaker 1: An older tweet was Texas long horned quarterback quin you
- 17:34Speaker 1: Weres turned down an eight million dollars anile offer to
- 17:36Speaker 1: transfer and then decided to declare for the twenty twenty
- 17:39Speaker 1: five draft. BEDMGM rights, Quinn Youres turned on eight million
- 17:42Speaker 1: in ail. Now he'll make four million over four years
- 17:44Speaker 1: as a seventh round pick. It's four million over four
- 17:49Speaker 1: years is one million year. It's four hundred fifty thousand dollars. Well,
- 17:53Speaker 1: Florida has a good tax, good tax, so half a
- 17:55Speaker 1: million bucks. But you're talking about eight million one year
- 17:59Speaker 1: for one year. Yeah, versus five one million for one year. Yeah,
- 18:03Speaker 1: so it's not four million even versus eight million. It's
- 18:05Speaker 1: one million versus eight million.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a big cut. And what do you mean
- 18:09Speaker 3: by Florida taxes? Like, what do you mean by that?
- 18:11Speaker 1: No income tax in Tennessee Florida.
- 18:15Speaker 3: State income tax? Yeah, okay, got you.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Tennessee, Florida. There's a few of those states. Another
- 18:24Speaker 1: one because mel Kiper junior, he was off his rocker
- 18:27Speaker 1: a little bit when he was talking. First of all,
- 18:29Speaker 1: the whole draft starts and he's like, my number one
- 18:32Speaker 1: is Shooter Sanders. But then he kept not getting picked,
- 18:36Speaker 1: and then when he did, he was just he was
- 18:37Speaker 1: so mad. He was just ranning about it. Would you tell?
- 18:39Speaker 1: It was personal to him? And mel Kuiper goes for
- 18:42Speaker 1: fifty years, the NFL had no idea how to valuate quarterbacks,
- 18:46Speaker 1: and so Andrew Philippini said here, and it was Mel Kuiper,
- 18:50Speaker 1: and it was him ranking Forrest Lamp at number eighteen
- 18:55Speaker 1: over Patrick Mahomes.
- 18:58Speaker 3: That's funny, digging some good stuff.
- 19:02Speaker 1: So he's like the NFL doesn't. But he also has
- 19:04Speaker 1: struggled with his which everybody does. Let me see if
- 19:07Speaker 1: there's any other ones here.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Part of the whole process.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, I agree, but he was it was very
- 19:13Speaker 1: personal to him. And also I like Deon Sanders, He's awesome.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I was hoping she'd ever got drafted, but then it
- 19:19Speaker 1: just started to like a car record, just watching to
- 19:21Speaker 1: see what happens.
- 19:21Speaker 4: I know.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Okay, did you.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Feel bad for him a little bit though as he
- 19:25Speaker 3: was dropping or no?
- 19:26Speaker 1: Because I felt like whatever was happening was probably due
- 19:28Speaker 1: to his actions, and sometimes that learning lesson is way
- 19:32Speaker 1: better in the long run than if you don't pay
- 19:35Speaker 1: it now, eventually you'll have to pay it. I think
- 19:37Speaker 1: it's cheaper to pay it now than in the future.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 19:39Speaker 1: So I did not feel bad for him. That's good
- 19:42Speaker 1: and knocked that off. Lawrence Taylor won't unretire his number,
- 19:47Speaker 1: which is hilarious, and nor do I think people should
- 19:50Speaker 1: have to unretire. But quick question who the Giants draft.
- 19:55Speaker 3: The Giants drafted Scataboo.
- 19:57Speaker 1: No, yes, yes, yes, Kevin Abduel Carter correct, and Abdul
- 20:04Speaker 1: Carter was like, hey, I'll work fifty six with the Giants,
- 20:06Speaker 1: and Lawrence Taylor was like, no, go to zero or something.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Make your own name that. I think if he wants
- 20:11Speaker 1: to have wear fifty six, I think Lawrence Taylor should
- 20:14Speaker 1: be cool. And if he's like dominant, dominant in two years,
- 20:16Speaker 1: you go, hey, listen, if you want to wear it,
- 20:18Speaker 1: earn it. I'll let you wear in two years if
- 20:20Speaker 1: you're killing it, because then you can continue the legacy. Yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 1: but I agree with him not doing it right now.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 5: Too many guys are like, yeah, I'll give it up.
- 20:27Speaker 4: I don't care.
- 20:28Speaker 3: What's the point of retiring a number exactly is gone?
- 20:31Speaker 3: That number's gone.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yeah, numbers gone.
- 20:33Speaker 6: Celtics can't really get any new numbers these days. Yeah,
- 20:38Speaker 6: they have so many retire everybody's retired.
- 20:40Speaker 3: They triple digits. Yeah.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I saw when the Browns ended up drafting because they
- 20:46Speaker 1: drafted Mason gram Yeah, Mason GRAMMYT three from Michigan and
- 20:50Speaker 1: he goes in afterward and then have the cameras on
- 20:51Speaker 1: him when they're finding out what number he wants, and
- 20:53Speaker 1: he goes, can I get some number? He's like, nah,
- 20:56Speaker 1: somebody has it, and he goes, oh, man, can I
- 20:59Speaker 1: you know what the deal? Can I like pay him?
- 21:00Speaker 1: He's like, we can ask, and so he ends up
- 21:04Speaker 1: being asking for like ninety five because I think Miles
- 21:07Speaker 1: Garrett's ninety four.
- 21:09Speaker 5: No, Miles is ninety five, okay, so whatever the one
- 21:11Speaker 5: is is the other one?
- 21:12Speaker 1: Yeah, So he goes, then I'll take ninety four for now,
- 21:14Speaker 1: and he's gonna try to buy the other one from
- 21:15Speaker 1: the other player, And it was just fun to watch
- 21:18Speaker 1: like how that happens because they had the cameras on
- 21:20Speaker 1: him when he went in and the guy was like,
- 21:21Speaker 1: you can have fifty through sixty or any of the
- 21:23Speaker 1: nineties numbers, and he goes about My body goes nope, taken,
- 21:26Speaker 1: you can buy it. If he'll let you, we can
- 21:28Speaker 1: call him, and if not, we can't make your jerseys
- 21:32Speaker 1: even to sell until we have for sure your number.
- 21:35Speaker 1: So he goes, my backup number will be ninety four
- 21:37Speaker 1: if okay whatever, Miles Garrett was the one next to him, gotcha.
- 21:39Speaker 1: That's pretty cool.
- 21:40Speaker 3: So when he buys it, buys it from who the player,
- 21:43Speaker 3: so the player gets the money for it.
- 21:45Speaker 1: It was like Jimmy class And wanted to charge Cam
- 21:47Speaker 1: Doon a million bucks back in the day for the number.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Oh you never saw a story.
- 21:51Speaker 3: I know that number one.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Yeah, camp still pissed about it, huh, because it's like
- 21:54Speaker 1: you Jimmy classon.
- 21:55Speaker 6: And you better hope that. I mean, what if it's
- 21:57Speaker 6: like a player that might not even make the team
- 21:58Speaker 6: this year. What if you're like, hey, come on, that
- 22:00Speaker 6: I don't.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Think is a deal. If it's a vet, it's But
- 22:03Speaker 1: also if they may not make the team, they'll take
- 22:04Speaker 1: away less money too, because they need the money. True,
- 22:07Speaker 1: they'll take fifty thousand dollars or somebody for real won't.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so the jersey they give them in the draft,
- 22:13Speaker 3: you know, like the commission, that's not their number.
- 22:15Speaker 1: No, because everybody's like number one.
- 22:17Speaker 3: I think they're all one. Yeah, I think so it
- 22:20Speaker 3: makes sense.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I do want to do two other quick clips. The
- 22:24Speaker 1: Bill Belichick interview was really weird because they're interviewing them
- 22:28Speaker 1: on CBS and now they say that his girlfriend Jordan,
- 22:33Speaker 1: who's like twenty four, interrupted interview multiple times because she's
- 22:35Speaker 1: like running his pr But they asked the question and
- 22:39Speaker 1: she jumped in and they put this in the interview.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Would you play it please?
- 22:41Speaker 5: You have Jordan right over there.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Everybody in the world.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Seems to be following this relationship.
- 22:47Speaker 1: They've got an opinion about your private life. It's got
- 22:49Speaker 1: nothing to do with them, but they're invested in it.
- 22:51Speaker 7: How do you deal with that?
- 22:53Speaker 3: Never been too worried about what everybody else thinks, Just
- 22:56Speaker 3: to try to do what I feel like is that's
- 22:57Speaker 3: for me and what's right?
- 22:59Speaker 4: How did you guys meet?
- 23:00Speaker 8: Not talking about this?
- 23:02Speaker 1: No, No, it's a topic neither one of them is
- 23:05Speaker 1: comfortable commenting on. And she's back in the back, she's
- 23:08Speaker 1: not a camera. It's starting to feel like that story
- 23:11Speaker 1: about how they met on a plane ain't true.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Uh huh.
- 23:14Speaker 3: She shut that down real quick.
- 23:15Speaker 1: It's starting to feel like they probably met somewhere where
- 23:19Speaker 1: older men can meet younger women.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Yeah, he's your imagination.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I don't know that that's true or not, but it
- 23:23Speaker 1: feels like that.
- 23:23Speaker 5: But if you're gonna have a story like the plane,
- 23:25Speaker 5: might as well just stick to it, right, Yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 1: And then talk about it when they ask, and just
- 23:28Speaker 1: give an answer and then move off. That's a good
- 23:29Speaker 1: point because that makes this so much bigger. Right, I'll
- 23:33Speaker 1: give you one more clip. This catcher puts his glove
- 23:37Speaker 1: back to take the ball after like a foul ball.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Puts the glove back, and the umpire takes the ball
- 23:46Speaker 1: and it's gonna drop it in the catcher's glove because
- 23:48Speaker 1: it's just like, all right, put your glove back. The
- 23:49Speaker 1: ketcher doesn't see the umpire. He doesn't think to put
- 23:51Speaker 1: he's putting his the ball on his glove, So the
- 23:53Speaker 1: ketcher puts his glove down, puts the glove and drops it.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Looks like the ketcher pulls his glove out from the
- 23:57Speaker 1: empire to show him up. He didn't catch it, did
- 23:59Speaker 1: see up? Throws him out immediately? Whoa crazy ump was
- 24:03Speaker 1: a total d bag? Here go ahead real quick.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Did Mike tell you this is from twenty twenty three? Nope,
- 24:08Speaker 5: got tricked? Yepkay hit it.
- 24:10Speaker 3: That's TikTok though, yeah, hit it anyway.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I have another one after this.
- 24:14Speaker 5: I'm go ahead, okay.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Kember says, I don't like that, Colin. Now here's the
- 24:18Speaker 3: action right here. The umpire felt like grim Milter took
- 24:23Speaker 3: his Bruma out of the way, and I think he
- 24:24Speaker 3: ran Altar didn't sense that the ball was on his way,
- 24:27Speaker 3: so he just figured the umpire was throwing it back
- 24:29Speaker 3: to the mound.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Now, on the prior exchange, the umpire threw it out
- 24:33Speaker 1: to Kimber, so all right.
- 24:34Speaker 5: You don't feel the ball get wrestled into your glove.
- 24:36Speaker 3: So he wasn't even looking back at the umpire.
- 24:39Speaker 5: He just pulled his glove.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Down crazy and J Nos. Twenty twenty three. But the
- 24:42Speaker 1: reason I pulled that clip was because lsu hits a
- 24:44Speaker 1: home run to win the game. College game, like I
- 24:47Speaker 1: don't know it's a Grand Slam, but wins the game
- 24:49Speaker 1: and the guy staring at of the Empire gets on
- 24:51Speaker 1: him at the end of the game. It's like you
- 24:52Speaker 1: need to run and he's like, I'm looking at it
- 24:55Speaker 1: in the ups like you need to run. It's crazy,
- 24:58Speaker 1: like ump chill out. Yeah, yeah, gonna do that. Ump
- 25:00Speaker 1: chill out. Okay, that's it. We're coming back. Diana Rossini

- 26:36Speaker 1: A senior NFL insider for The Athletic Diana Rossini. Dina
- 26:40Speaker 1: worked at ESPN for almost a decade, went over to
- 26:42Speaker 1: The Athletic a few years ago. She was on top
- 26:44Speaker 1: of all the shitter sanders and sliding in the draft
- 26:47Speaker 1: and showed an article about the prank call. Big fan
- 26:49Speaker 1: of hers, You can follow her on social dm Rassini
- 26:52Speaker 1: to keep up with her and check out her work,
- 26:54Speaker 1: and we'll tell you about our podcast in just a minute.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Here she is Diana Rossini. Hey Diana, First of all,
- 26:58Speaker 1: I'm a big fan. It's weird how you can become
- 27:00Speaker 1: a fan of somebody just by watching TikTok clips, but
- 27:03Speaker 1: like when you do appearances or even like on the
- 27:06Speaker 1: part of my take, like, I've become a big fan
- 27:08Speaker 1: of not only your writing but also like you as
- 27:10Speaker 1: a personality. So super cool to come on. So thank
- 27:12Speaker 1: you very much.
- 27:13Speaker 9: Same we've never met, I know of you, I've listened
- 27:18Speaker 9: to you, oh oh way everywhere.
- 27:20Speaker 8: I've hear of you everywhere.
- 27:22Speaker 9: So I am so glad that that we're able to connect,
- 27:26Speaker 9: and thank you so much for the kind words about
- 27:28Speaker 9: all the ridiculousness that I've compiled over the.
- 27:32Speaker 8: Last ten to fifteen years of being in sports media.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Well, I do want to start with I think this
- 27:38Speaker 1: is the only draft where I think I watched all
- 27:40Speaker 1: the way until the Dolphins picked in round seven, because
- 27:44Speaker 1: the shar stuff kept me to five once he was picked,
- 27:47Speaker 1: and then I stayed all the way until like the
- 27:50Speaker 1: final quarterback that we thought was going to go early,
- 27:52Speaker 1: or at least earlier than round seven, was taken off
- 27:55Speaker 1: the board. This possibly could have been the highest rated
- 27:58Speaker 1: draft ever. Right, there was so much interest, even the
- 28:00Speaker 1: light rounds.
- 28:01Speaker 9: Yeah, look, headed into this, everyone around the league was saying,
- 28:06Speaker 9: to me, this is the dullest draft.
- 28:09Speaker 8: There's not a lot of talent.
- 28:10Speaker 9: There's no big names, especially because we were comparing it
- 28:13Speaker 9: to last year, where we had six quarterbacks go in
- 28:16Speaker 9: the top twelve picks.
- 28:17Speaker 8: It was incredible.
- 28:19Speaker 9: And I mean we were debating last year who the
- 28:21Speaker 9: best quarterbacks were, and I was getting a range of
- 28:24Speaker 9: different answers, and it just had.
- 28:27Speaker 8: So much juice last year and then whila, this year
- 28:31Speaker 8: turns out to be just as exciting.
- 28:32Speaker 9: And look, a lot of it had to do with
- 28:34Speaker 9: the fact that Shador Sanders was essentially plummeting when there
- 28:39Speaker 9: was an expectation that he would land somewhere at least
- 28:43Speaker 9: there were some people saying that they thought he would
- 28:45Speaker 9: land in the first round, some that said the second,
- 28:47Speaker 9: some said he would slide to the bottom of the second.
- 28:51Speaker 9: I don't think anyone was predicting the slide that it
- 28:54Speaker 9: turned out to be, And I think that kept the
- 28:59Speaker 9: attention because everyone wanted to know who was going to
- 29:02Speaker 9: take Shador, would he even get drafted. So I think
- 29:06Speaker 9: that narrative there certainly helped the attention spans because at
- 29:10Speaker 9: the end of the day, I know it's football, but
- 29:11Speaker 9: it's a TV show and this pretty much came together
- 29:14Speaker 9: perfectly for the league.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I have a bias so and I know coach Prime
- 29:18Speaker 1: and we've worked together a bunch, so I love him,
- 29:20Speaker 1: and so I up front I have a big bias.
- 29:24Speaker 1: But after should didn't get picked in round one and
- 29:27Speaker 1: then round two, it almost was if you couldn't pick
- 29:31Speaker 1: him for a minute because you have to draft a
- 29:34Speaker 1: backup quarterback, right, I mean did don't you think there
- 29:36Speaker 1: was that purgatory ground where it just would have been
- 29:38Speaker 1: weird to take him on like round three or four.
- 29:41Speaker 8: I believe that I look.
- 29:43Speaker 9: At it the same way, and even just having some
- 29:46Speaker 9: conversations this morning with some teams that were poking around
- 29:49Speaker 9: on it, and they were unsure and even look at Cleveland, right,
- 29:53Speaker 9: I mean they they don't even take him as the.
- 29:56Speaker 8: First quarterback that they pick.
- 29:58Speaker 9: They wait, and I can they tell you, Bobby, they
- 30:00Speaker 9: didn't have Shador High on their quarterback board headed into this,
- 30:05Speaker 9: So it's not like this was the plan the whole time.
- 30:07Speaker 9: I think he's at five they meet they have conversations
- 30:10Speaker 9: and they go, we got to take a shot here,
- 30:13Speaker 9: like he can play, like in terms of what he
- 30:16Speaker 9: was doing on the football field, the talent is there.
- 30:19Speaker 9: I just think some of the something happened between the
- 30:22Speaker 9: end of his season and the start of this draft.
- 30:26Speaker 9: And when you take a look at that time of year,
- 30:28Speaker 9: that's usually when you're meeting the player. That's usually when
- 30:31Speaker 9: you're getting to know him more and you're and you're
- 30:33Speaker 9: having those visits. And I had one GM say to me,
- 30:37Speaker 9: I think shador made the mistake of approaching these visits
- 30:41Speaker 9: as a recruiting trip versus a job interview. And there's
- 30:46Speaker 9: a difference, and especially in the NFL, when gms and
- 30:49Speaker 9: head coaches and personnel people want to hear that you
- 30:54Speaker 9: are hungry to learn that you've done the work, that
- 30:58Speaker 9: you did the homework that you were asked to do
- 31:00Speaker 9: before the meeting, and you were prepared. And I'm curious
- 31:04Speaker 9: and I'm working on it now to find out how
- 31:06Speaker 9: much of that fell through, you know, fell through the
- 31:09Speaker 9: cracks here and changed the overall thought and opinion of.
- 31:12Speaker 8: Who Shadora is.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Quinn you weres went to the Dolphins in round seven.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I thought he would go higher than seven. I think
- 31:18Speaker 1: he did too, because he could have transferred and made
- 31:21Speaker 1: you know, millions of dollars in the portal. Do you
- 31:23Speaker 1: think he regrets that now? Or if you get drafted
- 31:26Speaker 1: for and beyond, it's not like a big guaranteed contract anyway.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Do you think he just wanted to get his NFL
- 31:29Speaker 1: career started, much like these NBA kids will do, just
- 31:31Speaker 1: so they can hopefully get to that second contract.
- 31:34Speaker 9: Yeah, and that's the that's always the intent there. Look,
- 31:38Speaker 9: I think this the world of the NIL it is.
- 31:42Speaker 9: It's the wild West right now. One of the one
- 31:45Speaker 9: of the questions I like to ask agents is how
- 31:48Speaker 9: are they learning about it? Because I'm learning about anyone
- 31:52Speaker 9: that covers football right now. We're this is, this is
- 31:56Speaker 9: new and the agents are even learning on the fly
- 32:00Speaker 9: of how they can profit the most and help their
- 32:03Speaker 9: clients and even coaches, and just that the entire college
- 32:07Speaker 9: world has changed. So look, at the end of the day,
- 32:10Speaker 9: most of these players, I understand they want to make
- 32:13Speaker 9: a lot of money, but most of them have the
- 32:14Speaker 9: dreams of playing in the NFL. At the end of
- 32:16Speaker 9: the day, That's what it's about. That's why they're playing
- 32:18Speaker 9: the game, so I don't fault him. He will find
- 32:22Speaker 9: a way to make money. I mean, maybe we'll revisit
- 32:25Speaker 9: this conversation five years and be like, well, you should
- 32:27Speaker 9: have stayed in college.
- 32:29Speaker 8: But for now, I understand his decision making, and how
- 32:33Speaker 8: do you not hope for the best.
- 32:34Speaker 4: For the kid.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Somebody that I came away from the draft liking more
- 32:37Speaker 1: and then I think maybe my algorithm just fed him
- 32:39Speaker 1: to me was Will Campbell, but leading up to it,
- 32:42Speaker 1: it was also Will Campbell has little arms, but that's
- 32:44Speaker 1: not talked about it at all now. But his clips
- 32:47Speaker 1: are so funny and I totally see now why a
- 32:50Speaker 1: guy who used to live here when he coached the
- 32:52Speaker 1: Titans Vveryabele, would draft a guy like that to go
- 32:55Speaker 1: to New England.
- 32:57Speaker 9: Do you think Mike Rabel heard Will Campbell say I
- 32:59Speaker 9: would die from my quarterback and had.
- 33:01Speaker 8: Any thought in his mind that he made a mistake.
- 33:04Speaker 9: That is a Mic Rabel player through and through, and
- 33:07Speaker 9: granted he plays a position that's not exactly exciting and electric,
- 33:11Speaker 9: but it's a need. I had someone say to me once,
- 33:14Speaker 9: so you got to eat your vegetables sometimes when you're
- 33:16Speaker 9: building these teams and the New England Patriots are eating
- 33:18Speaker 9: their vegetables in terms of this draft and filling in
- 33:22Speaker 9: the holes and the spots that they need. And look
- 33:24Speaker 9: from Rabel's perspective too, because as you know is someone
- 33:27Speaker 9: that watched the Titans as much as you did, it
- 33:30Speaker 9: was very clear who they were, right. You never wondered
- 33:33Speaker 9: who are the Tennessee Titans. They were one thousand percent
- 33:36Speaker 9: their head coach's personality. They were tough, they were relentless,
- 33:41Speaker 9: and New England is learning right now how to be that.
- 33:44Speaker 9: He is trying to establish it, and so it makes
- 33:47Speaker 9: a lot of sense to bring in a player. And
- 33:49Speaker 9: so as soon as I saw Will Cavell's response to
- 33:51Speaker 9: being picked, and he said that, I'm like, well, they
- 33:54Speaker 9: obviously knew that this is what this kid was all about.
- 33:57Speaker 9: Because in order for them to figure out their identity
- 34:00Speaker 9: is a team, you've got to get these You gotta
- 34:02Speaker 9: get the right guys in the locker room. And Will
- 34:04Speaker 9: Campbell just made he would just make so much sense
- 34:06Speaker 9: and a pretty sharp suit too.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Were you surprised the Cowboys did nothing? Splashy?
- 34:11Speaker 9: I thought that they were going to trade with the
- 34:14Speaker 9: Pittsburgh Steelers for George Pickens I thought that would pick
- 34:17Speaker 9: up speed because there were some conversations that were going down.
- 34:20Speaker 9: I know that the Steelers were making calls, they were
- 34:23Speaker 9: talking to different teams, teams are calling them, and I
- 34:26Speaker 9: thought that that would be the splashy thing that Jerry did,
- 34:29Speaker 9: because remember a week ago he said he was doing
- 34:32Speaker 9: something splashy. I don't think he used the word splashy.
- 34:35Speaker 9: He's a different word, but it was like, hey, like,
- 34:38Speaker 9: chill everyone, I'm going to do this. And I always
- 34:40Speaker 9: give Jerry Jones tons of leeway for the draft because
- 34:45Speaker 9: they're phenomenal drafting players.
- 34:47Speaker 8: That is what they do well. Contracts they don't do
- 34:49Speaker 8: well in my opinion.
- 34:51Speaker 9: I mean, I don't understand the philosophy of how they
- 34:53Speaker 9: do it. I still can't figure out, after all these
- 34:55Speaker 9: years of covering them, of why they wait so long
- 34:57Speaker 9: to pay their players. But I usually allow the Cowboys
- 35:04Speaker 9: to do what they need to do this time of
- 35:05Speaker 9: year because they're so good at it.
- 35:07Speaker 8: But I didn't come away from this draft going this
- 35:10Speaker 8: made sense. I see why they did it.
- 35:13Speaker 9: I thought we were gonna get some rock star player
- 35:15Speaker 9: on offense for them, and we just didn't walk.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Away with that. We'll talk about Ben Johnson with the
- 35:20Speaker 1: Bears for a second, because obviously he brings in a
- 35:22Speaker 1: whole new offense and hopefully he's able to make Kayleb
- 35:25Speaker 1: Williams what we'd think Caleb Williams is. But he drafted
- 35:28Speaker 1: a tied in the wide receiver. It seems like they're
- 35:30Speaker 1: gonna go pretty offense. Like is that the plan? Like
- 35:33Speaker 1: load up the offense and just let the defense figure
- 35:35Speaker 1: it out.
- 35:35Speaker 9: Bobby, this is called I am the new head coach
- 35:39Speaker 9: of this team, n Ben Johnson, and I want to
- 35:40Speaker 9: be able to open my playbook and do whatever the
- 35:42Speaker 9: heck I want to do.
- 35:43Speaker 8: That's what this is, right.
- 35:45Speaker 9: So he did a really good job in free agency
- 35:47Speaker 9: of building up the trenches, giving him that offensive line,
- 35:50Speaker 9: knowing that Caleb has taking a lot of hits last year,
- 35:52Speaker 9: needs more time, and the next step is to give
- 35:55Speaker 9: him those weapons. And that's what That's why I would
- 35:58Speaker 9: put Chicago up there with some of my favorite moves
- 36:00Speaker 9: from the weekend, because they know they've got the guy
- 36:06Speaker 9: they can. They just need to find ways to bring
- 36:09Speaker 9: the best out of him. So to go offense makes
- 36:11Speaker 9: all the sense of the world, and you have a
- 36:14Speaker 9: phenomenal play caller in Ben Johnson. So if you continue
- 36:17Speaker 9: to give him all these tools, he's just going to
- 36:21Speaker 9: continue to cook up all the stuff that we saw
- 36:23Speaker 9: him do in Detroit. So it's smart football, don't get cute,
- 36:28Speaker 9: don't overthink it. And that's how I think Chicago is
- 36:30Speaker 9: really running things these days.
- 36:32Speaker 1: There was a show called Kids Do the Darnedest Things
- 36:34Speaker 1: back in the day and a couple of different hosts.
- 36:36Speaker 1: I mean Bill Cosby was one host that was weird,
- 36:38Speaker 1: but you know, and they have kids on they say
- 36:40Speaker 1: funny things. I kind of felt that way watching the
- 36:42Speaker 1: Jaguars General manager talk and you know, he was talking
- 36:45Speaker 1: about you know, you know, FM pics, and he did
- 36:49Speaker 1: trade up and gave away a first round pick next
- 36:51Speaker 1: you to get Travis Hunter. Did you feel Travis Hunter
- 36:53Speaker 1: was worth that?
- 36:54Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 36:55Speaker 8: I was surprised Cleveland moved off it. First of all.
- 36:58Speaker 9: I really thought that Cleveland wanted wanted to stick. I
- 37:03Speaker 9: know that that deal was in place for over two weeks.
- 37:07Speaker 9: My colleague Mike Silver, he's probably one of the best
- 37:10Speaker 9: sports writers on planet Earth.
- 37:12Speaker 8: He was in the war room with the Jacks.
- 37:14Speaker 9: Uh So his article is going to come out on
- 37:16Speaker 9: the Athletic uh in a couple of days here, and
- 37:19Speaker 9: I spoke to him over the phone yesterday just about
- 37:22Speaker 9: everything he witnessed, and he's like, look like they want
- 37:26Speaker 9: to make a bold move.
- 37:27Speaker 8: They wanted to do that.
- 37:28Speaker 9: It's why they It's why they made this decision to
- 37:31Speaker 9: give up what they did, because it is very apparent,
- 37:35Speaker 9: it is very clear based on the contract and even
- 37:37Speaker 9: just the way they support Trevor Lawrence that they want
- 37:41Speaker 9: this to work. And you're bringing a guy like Liam Cohene,
- 37:44Speaker 9: you pay him the kind of money you're paying him
- 37:46Speaker 9: for our first year head coach. It's because you are
- 37:49Speaker 9: putting all your chips in here that this has to work.
- 37:53Speaker 9: So much like Chicago, they're basically just giving Trevor the
- 37:58Speaker 9: things that he needs and you're not going to lose
- 38:01Speaker 9: when you're invested in a player, you know, like Hunter
- 38:06Speaker 9: who's going to play both sides of the ball here.
- 38:08Speaker 8: That's what the Jacks told him.
- 38:09Speaker 9: Now, look he's he's better at receiver from what I
- 38:12Speaker 9: can gather from what people.
- 38:13Speaker 8: Have told me around the league.
- 38:14Speaker 9: So this is a guy who's going to be out
- 38:17Speaker 9: there for one hundred snaps a game at least to
- 38:21Speaker 9: be part of this. So yeah, the question of is
- 38:23Speaker 9: he worth it looks we don't know. That's the beauty
- 38:26Speaker 9: of the draft is like we think. But I know
- 38:29Speaker 9: Cleveland feels good. They made the right decision for the
- 38:32Speaker 9: price that they got back.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I have two final questions. One, if you're going to
- 38:36Speaker 1: make a prank call and you have a number that
- 38:38Speaker 1: you shouldn't have, should you not be on video?
- 38:40Speaker 3: Like that's what I was.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Thinking, we'll watch because he's sitting in the background of
- 38:44Speaker 1: the video. Or they're making the prank call and you
- 38:46Speaker 1: wrote an article on it yesterday, like, don't be in
- 38:49Speaker 1: the video. First of all, don't do prank call whatever,
- 38:52Speaker 1: but kids do stupid stuff, but don't be in the video.
- 38:54Speaker 3: That was what was blew me away, I know.
- 38:57Speaker 8: But the whole thing.
- 38:59Speaker 9: I cover Jeff when he was with the New York Jets,
- 39:03Speaker 9: and he's really well liked in the league by the way,
- 39:05Speaker 9: just he's just one of those good overall people, and
- 39:09Speaker 9: he's got some family dynamics that some stuff that they've
- 39:12Speaker 9: got going on personally, and I can tell you just
- 39:16Speaker 9: from talking to people close to him yesterday, they were
- 39:19Speaker 9: pretty crushed that their son did that because it was
- 39:23Speaker 9: mean spirited and It's one thing to make a bad
- 39:26Speaker 9: decision and not know it, or maybe not have those intentions,
- 39:31Speaker 9: or maybe just not looking at it the right way.
- 39:33Speaker 9: But they knew exactly what they were doing, uh, And
- 39:37Speaker 9: that's the mistakes. The mistake was made, it was caught
- 39:41Speaker 9: on video, they admitted, they came out, they apologize, and
- 39:43Speaker 9: now you just hope over the next few days that
- 39:45Speaker 9: he can survive emotionally and mentally, just the kickback he's
- 39:50Speaker 9: getting right, because, Bobby, have you ever been in the
- 39:53Speaker 9: center of something on social media? I have, unfortunately so
- 39:57Speaker 9: many times, and it's like a freaking title wave, and
- 40:00Speaker 9: you feel like the whole world hates you, and your
- 40:03Speaker 9: head can go into some bad places. So I'm hoping
- 40:05Speaker 9: for him because he's so young and he doesn't get that, yes,
- 40:08Speaker 9: this was a mistake and this was bad, but it'll.
- 40:11Speaker 8: Pass and he's gonna be way more than just this.
- 40:14Speaker 9: But I give credit for Shador to Shador for taking
- 40:17Speaker 9: the call and accepting that apology it appears. But yeah,
- 40:22Speaker 9: I think, just like in anything in twenty twenty five,
- 40:26Speaker 9: phones have changed at all.
- 40:28Speaker 4: Right.
- 40:28Speaker 8: They remember when we were younger, could you imagine the
- 40:31Speaker 8: stuff we did was on video?
- 40:32Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I just wouldn't have been in the video.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I'd have done it, but I wouldn't have been in
- 40:35Speaker 1: the video. But yeah, yeah, I don't know if I
- 40:37Speaker 1: would have done it.
- 40:38Speaker 8: I man, I'm a lot, Bobby, you don't know me
- 40:40Speaker 8: that way. I am a lot of things that could
- 40:42Speaker 8: be a pain.
- 40:43Speaker 9: I'm tough, I'm relentless, I'm exhausting to be around, but
- 40:46Speaker 9: I'm not mean.
- 40:47Speaker 8: And that was mean to just play games like that.
- 40:50Speaker 9: And look, they're gonna look back on that one day,
- 40:53Speaker 9: and I'm sure they're gonna regret that, if they haven't already.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Final question for you, do you ever hop into, like
- 40:58Speaker 1: I don't know, pick up basketball, pick up soccer games
- 41:00Speaker 1: and just dominate and people are like how they had
- 41:02Speaker 1: no idea that you're like an elite athlete?
- 41:04Speaker 8: Did my brother? Did someone of my family send that question?
- 41:07Speaker 4: Yes?
- 41:08Speaker 8: They make fun of me for that.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I would think you're surprise the crap
- 41:13Speaker 1: out of people if you just hopped in playing basketball
- 41:15Speaker 1: soccer and they're like, what is happening right now?
- 41:16Speaker 4: Okay, So my.
- 41:17Speaker 8: Husband will play Bruce Springsteen's Glory.
- 41:20Speaker 9: Days in my house just to mock how I crave
- 41:26Speaker 9: winning all the time, and I can't always win in
- 41:29Speaker 9: my industry, right Like sports media is so hard, breaking
- 41:31Speaker 9: news is hard, and I get some victories here and there,
- 41:34Speaker 9: but the only place that I can dominate is on
- 41:38Speaker 9: a field.
- 41:40Speaker 8: So that is what I do to sort of.
- 41:42Speaker 9: Tap in and feed the ego that that is really
- 41:45Speaker 9: should not be there anymore. By the way, at forty
- 41:47Speaker 9: two years old with two kids, I should not be
- 41:49Speaker 9: on any field. But yeah, I'm still living. I peaked
- 41:53Speaker 9: in high school, so I think that's probably why I
- 41:55Speaker 9: tap back into that so much.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but you also played collegiate soccer, didn't you?
- 42:00Speaker 9: I did?
- 42:01Speaker 4: I did.
- 42:01Speaker 8: I played George Masex.
- 42:02Speaker 1: That's not speaking in high school means you don't go
- 42:04Speaker 1: play anywhere. I've listen. I peaked in high school athletically,
- 42:07Speaker 1: I didn't play in college, though you played at George Mason.
- 42:09Speaker 1: That's a real life uh like sport school Division I school.
- 42:14Speaker 9: Yeah, they totally kept me on the team just because
- 42:17Speaker 9: they needed somebody that would punch another person in the face.
- 42:20Speaker 1: You're an enforcer.
- 42:22Speaker 8: I was an enforcer, and my coach told me that,
- 42:24Speaker 8: He's like, you.
- 42:25Speaker 9: We need somebody who can just be scrappy My teammates
- 42:29Speaker 9: were these like stunningly beautiful first of all, just like
- 42:32Speaker 9: aesthetically beautiful women, but their their soccer style was was
- 42:35Speaker 9: was also beautiful. They didn't have a lot of grit
- 42:39Speaker 9: because they were from the South and that was just
- 42:40Speaker 9: the type of soccer they learned, whereas in New Jersey
- 42:43Speaker 9: it's it's like you punched the person in the face first,
- 42:46Speaker 9: then you kicked the ball. So they took advantage of
- 42:49Speaker 9: that in a lot of our scheme of use my
- 42:51Speaker 9: aggressiveness to try to get us schools, and it worked
- 42:54Speaker 9: a lot.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Before you came on. We mentioned this, but I want
- 42:56Speaker 1: to mention it again a host of Scoop City show
- 42:58Speaker 1: about the NFL, it's you and Daniel talking about the league.
- 43:02Speaker 1: And then also the article on with Shirder on the
- 43:05Speaker 1: print call I read and you're right for The Athletic,
- 43:08Speaker 1: which I subscribe to, So yeah, I'm in in many ways.
- 43:10Speaker 1: So it's super cool. Thank you so much for your time,
- 43:12Speaker 1: and yeah, I keep doing it and I'm a big fan.
- 43:15Speaker 1: And yeah, you have such a such a distinct voice,
- 43:17Speaker 1: not like your physical voice, but like how you approach
- 43:20Speaker 1: and how you share your feelings on sports. So so
- 43:23Speaker 1: thank you, and it's been really cool to talk with you, Alli.
- 43:25Speaker 8: Thank you so much.
- 43:26Speaker 9: A huge fan of yours as well, and thank you
- 43:27Speaker 9: for having me on. And hopefully in the season I'll

- 44:39Speaker 1: All right, that's it. We're gonna play our Dylan Gabriel
- 44:41Speaker 1: interview after the end because we've already aired this once.
- 44:44Speaker 1: But we went and talked to Dylan Gabriel when he
- 44:46Speaker 1: was about to play for Oregon for the first time.
- 44:49Speaker 1: So ill, don't that be fun to play back?
- 44:50Speaker 3: That's pretty awesome. Yeah, that is an NFL quarterback.
- 44:52Speaker 1: One of the nine. I'd have been so mad if
- 44:55Speaker 1: they drafted a quarterback after me, especially a more famous one. Yes,
- 45:01Speaker 1: thank you, guys. So we'll end this here, but as
- 45:04Speaker 1: soon as we're done, we'll play the Dylan Gabriel interview
- 45:07Speaker 1: that we did from the facility in Oregon. I just
- 45:10Speaker 1: thought it was fun to play again. So that's it.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Thank you guys for listening, and we will see you
- 45:14Speaker 1: later on this week. It'll be Read's last show ever.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Oh man, I'm gonna miss him.
- 45:19Speaker 1: All right, that's it for us.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Blow it.
- 45:22Speaker 1: We'll see you guys later on this week. Byeverybody, don't
- 45:26Speaker 1: thanks for the time.
- 45:27Speaker 7: Of course, have you played n Cuba Football yet?
- 45:30Speaker 4: I have?
- 45:30Speaker 1: With you?
- 45:32Speaker 4: I have not. Actually, you haven't used you on the game.
- 45:34Speaker 4: I haven't. I've seen me, but I haven't used third
- 45:38Speaker 4: person me.
- 45:40Speaker 7: That would be the first thing. That's all I would do.
- 45:41Speaker 7: I would only but I will play no defense, only offense.
- 45:45Speaker 4: Interesting enough, are you rebuilding?
- 45:48Speaker 7: Okay?
- 45:48Speaker 4: I random team? I random team a little bit, but
- 45:51Speaker 4: I played three games against Evan Stewart. He's my neighbor.
- 45:54Speaker 4: So quick little walk through the back door and then
- 45:58Speaker 4: play the game.
- 45:59Speaker 7: So how do you feel up your positioning because you
- 46:01Speaker 7: like talk quarterback.
- 46:02Speaker 4: On the game. Yeah, I think the only thing I
- 46:05Speaker 4: have a problem with is a speed being at eighty
- 46:08Speaker 4: one on you. I would have took a eighty five
- 46:11Speaker 4: or eighty six, but I'm grateful either way.
- 46:15Speaker 7: How's the time been up here so far?
- 46:17Speaker 4: In organ? A lot of fun, a lot of rain early,
- 46:21Speaker 4: but a lot of sun now and just good people.
- 46:24Speaker 4: So I appreciate that and just been having a lot
- 46:27Speaker 4: of fun doing it.
- 46:28Speaker 10: When you pack up and you move up here, do
- 46:31Speaker 10: you do a U haul or do you just move in?
- 46:32Speaker 10: You don't have enough stuff anyway, yet.
- 46:34Speaker 4: That's a great question. I actually did not a U haul.
- 46:40Speaker 4: I didn't want to drive. I couldn't make that drive,
- 46:42Speaker 4: but paid a moving company. They did it, shipped the car,
- 46:48Speaker 4: or at least my girlfriend's car, and then they shipped
- 46:51Speaker 4: the car. They drove the car up here. I guess
- 46:54Speaker 4: they put it on, but they drove with the car
- 46:56Speaker 4: on it. Yes, okay, so they did the whole move
- 46:59Speaker 4: is easy for me, but uh, tough ones you get
- 47:03Speaker 4: into your house too where to start moving stuff. Don't
- 47:07Speaker 4: do it with your girlfriend either, might break up.
- 47:10Speaker 10: So oh yeah, well, well that's a different episode.
- 47:13Speaker 7: That's the whole different episode.
- 47:14Speaker 4: That's not to wait breaking news we didn't. Yeah. Yeah,
- 47:18Speaker 4: it's just there's potential, there's potential to fight with somebody
- 47:22Speaker 4: that even you're best friends with. I wouldn't even do
- 47:25Speaker 4: it with your best friend because that could lead to moving.
- 47:27Speaker 7: Just sucks.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Yeah, it's tough. Uh.
- 47:29Speaker 7: Now, when I've changed jobs. The company that I went
- 47:32Speaker 7: to work for always paid for my move.
- 47:34Speaker 1: How'd that work out?
- 47:35Speaker 4: You have to pay for your own move? I had
- 47:36Speaker 4: to pay for my own moves. But you know at
- 47:39Speaker 4: the rebate you need to check rebate. Maybe we could
- 47:42Speaker 4: have that in uh in the contract.
- 47:44Speaker 7: Get n C double A like EA to pay for
- 47:46Speaker 7: that move. Because they didn't give enough speed, they should.
- 47:48Speaker 4: Pay for your move. I agree, rebate. I didn't jump?
- 47:51Speaker 7: Are you jumping?
- 47:53Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think my jumping is good. Maybe
- 47:54Speaker 4: they're maybe they're on track. But are you sure you
- 47:56Speaker 4: didn't play with you at all?
- 47:57Speaker 7: Because, like you know, you know all the ratings.
- 47:59Speaker 4: Why only no speed in jump? Because I'm a little
- 48:01Speaker 4: insecure about it, to be quite honest. But played against fun? Yeah?
- 48:08Speaker 4: Not fun?
- 48:10Speaker 7: Did you hear I hear words getting around about my bitch.
- 48:13Speaker 4: Press it is? BOSSA was very impressed. I actually saw
- 48:17Speaker 4: him right after you guys filmed, and then.
- 48:21Speaker 7: I just got to use an offer email.
- 48:23Speaker 4: How many times did you do it? There're one?
- 48:26Speaker 3: Don't worry about that.
- 48:27Speaker 4: Well, No, I did it twice?
- 48:27Speaker 7: Actually did it twice?
- 48:28Speaker 4: I did twice. That's pretty good. But I took a
- 48:30Speaker 4: break in between that's good.
- 48:31Speaker 7: Does that count?
- 48:32Speaker 4: That counts to me?
- 48:33Speaker 1: That's so h just.
- 48:34Speaker 7: Schematically like where you come from and what you're doing now,
- 48:38Speaker 7: big difference.
- 48:39Speaker 4: I'd say. So. I think every coach I've played for,
- 48:43Speaker 4: everywhere I've been has been a learning experience and you
- 48:47Speaker 4: know there's always some different twist to what you're calling
- 48:50Speaker 4: or running. But uh, for the most part, I think
- 48:53Speaker 4: it's all been things that translate very well and you know,
- 48:57Speaker 4: help highlight my game, but also you know, pushed me
- 48:59Speaker 4: to be a better player. So it's been fun. And
- 49:02Speaker 4: when you have a lot of weapons around you, it
- 49:04Speaker 4: definitely makes it a lot more fun.
- 49:06Speaker 10: Terminology wise, big changes, big word changes meaning the same things.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Yeah, so definitely a lot of changes in the terminology.
- 49:16Speaker 4: You know, I kind of say, like you go from
- 49:19Speaker 4: you know, ordering at McDonald's to reading the Bible verse,
- 49:24Speaker 4: so it's it's a little different, you know, instead of
- 49:26Speaker 4: getting the number one, you're getting you know John three sixteen.
- 49:30Speaker 7: Yeah yeah Philippians, Yeah, yeah, without that real whenever you.
- 49:37Speaker 10: Whenever you make a change, and it could be from college,
- 49:40Speaker 10: NFL change of programs, like the day that you commit.
- 49:43Speaker 7: Do they give you, do they send you the playbook.
- 49:45Speaker 7: Is it a PDF or do they actually mail you
- 49:48Speaker 7: the book? When do you get that?
- 49:49Speaker 4: Well, nowadays, I don't think they do it just because
- 49:52Speaker 4: of you know, commitments sometimes don't always fall through or happen.
- 49:57Speaker 4: But know, if that would happen, then i'd have you know,
- 50:02Speaker 4: UCLA's playbook around this time.
- 50:04Speaker 7: But you don't.
- 50:05Speaker 4: I don't never got it. I think it's once you
- 50:07Speaker 4: step foot on campus, once you you know, have that
- 50:10Speaker 4: weekend there and make sure you're in school and you're
- 50:13Speaker 4: really at the school, then you know they don't want
- 50:15Speaker 4: to give you all the tricks, the trades and early
- 50:19Speaker 4: where you can run away with it.
- 50:21Speaker 7: You're talking about weapons here, What weapons attracted you to
- 50:23Speaker 7: come to Oregon?
- 50:25Speaker 4: I just you know, I think kind of throughout that process,
- 50:29Speaker 4: I knew what Oregon, you know, what we were bringing back,
- 50:33Speaker 4: but also kind of what they're looking for in the portal.
- 50:36Speaker 4: And you know, I think maybe in a six year senior,
- 50:39Speaker 4: it's important to be around guys that are are older.
- 50:42Speaker 4: And I think you see that on our team just
- 50:45Speaker 4: throughout you know, eleven on offense and e eleven on defense.
- 50:48Speaker 4: It's it's a veteran team, and I think that's a
- 50:52Speaker 4: big advantage for us, just with guys who played a
- 50:54Speaker 4: lot of football, but then bringing in pieces that we're
- 50:59Speaker 4: definitely gonna help. And I think that all kind of
- 51:01Speaker 4: came together, tried to look at it, you know, from
- 51:05Speaker 4: a holistic approach, just because you know, it's it's a
- 51:08Speaker 4: lot more than you know, just me and you got
- 51:11Speaker 4: to come together as a unit to make things happen.
- 51:12Speaker 7: So is that a tough decision to make a change.
- 51:14Speaker 10: And who's in your group, your personal like life group
- 51:17Speaker 10: that you would have that conversation with.
- 51:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I have a group of family members and people
- 51:23Speaker 4: that you know helped me outside of football as well,
- 51:25Speaker 4: that you know, I just looked to and ask questions.
- 51:29Speaker 4: And I think the hardest part was I did get
- 51:31Speaker 4: a lot of mixed reviews, So this one was definitely
- 51:34Speaker 4: my decision. But I just knew it was right. And
- 51:37Speaker 4: I think there's you know, a powerful feeling to you know,
- 51:41Speaker 4: betting on yourself and trusting your instincts. And you know,
- 51:45Speaker 4: I've always lived in my heart and it's always done
- 51:48Speaker 4: good for me. So I'm happy where I'm at and
- 51:51Speaker 4: it's been a blast.
- 51:53Speaker 3: You show up here, how do you connect with your
- 51:55Speaker 3: teammates that you just met, and you're just like, hey man,
- 51:57Speaker 3: I'm I'm your leader now, Like you say, later, what
- 52:01Speaker 3: do you follow me?
- 52:02Speaker 4: Like?
- 52:02Speaker 3: What do you tell them?
- 52:03Speaker 4: Like?
- 52:03Speaker 3: What's the conversations on?
- 52:05Speaker 4: What are you like? It's adjustment, you know. I think
- 52:08Speaker 4: it's tough, you know, as you know, you play with
- 52:11Speaker 4: the quarterback or you know, a guy who's been here
- 52:13Speaker 4: for two years and then there's an immediate transition. I
- 52:17Speaker 4: think it's you know, very apparent that time is very valuable,
- 52:22Speaker 4: you know, and we don't have time on our end
- 52:25Speaker 4: due to it being a one year kind of thing.
- 52:28Speaker 4: But you know, I just tried to spend as much
- 52:30Speaker 4: time around the guys and you know, be myself. I
- 52:33Speaker 4: think that is something that is extremely powerful as well,
- 52:36Speaker 4: because you know, when you're not genuine, you can see
- 52:40Speaker 4: right through it in the locker room. And I think
- 52:43Speaker 4: I'm very confident in who I am and just being
- 52:46Speaker 4: myself allowed me to connect with everyone. And the culture
- 52:49Speaker 4: and environment they have here has made it very easy
- 52:52Speaker 4: to be inviting for any new guys. But also we're
- 52:58Speaker 4: all chasing the same goal. You know, I wanted to
- 53:00Speaker 4: win a national championship, so uh, they knew I was
- 53:03Speaker 4: the guy for the job and and helping him out,
- 53:05Speaker 4: so it was it was easy on both ends.
- 53:08Speaker 7: Final three questions. How do you handle social media?
- 53:13Speaker 4: I in the off season, I go on and and
- 53:16Speaker 4: handle it. So you're on, you're active in the I am,
- 53:21Speaker 4: you know, I'm not as good as everyone else, but
- 53:25Speaker 4: I'm a scroller, you know, so I try to you know,
- 53:28Speaker 4: delete the app sometimes, or at least removing it from
- 53:30Speaker 4: my phone, not deleting my profile so I can get
- 53:34Speaker 4: things done. But uh, usually in camps or like as
- 53:37Speaker 4: season rolls around, just a lot of busy time, I
- 53:40Speaker 4: don't want to spend any time scrolling, so I'll just
- 53:43Speaker 4: remove it for you know, my sanity of staying clear,
- 53:47Speaker 4: being focused on on what's you know, the main thing
- 53:50Speaker 4: at hand. And then you know, I'll have somebody help
- 53:53Speaker 4: me get things done when I need to. So that's
- 53:56Speaker 4: how I handle it. Goofy on it as well. So
- 54:00Speaker 4: sometimes it's good having other people handle it for me.
- 54:04Speaker 4: I mean, I've said some questionable things, but you live
- 54:07Speaker 4: and you learn, and I think I like to not
- 54:10Speaker 4: take it too serious as well, So I.
- 54:12Speaker 10: Expect the watch generic vague answer here, but I did
- 54:14Speaker 10: see as of today, you're the favorite for the Heisman.
- 54:17Speaker 7: Thoughts, generic and vegue.
- 54:20Speaker 4: I'll say this, I've been not even talked about. I've
- 54:24Speaker 4: been talked about either way. It's what have you done
- 54:27Speaker 4: for me lately? You know, you can tell me one
- 54:29Speaker 4: thing today, but tomorrow willn't mean the same thing. So
- 54:33Speaker 4: I'm a big guy on you know, just being in
- 54:34Speaker 4: the moment. The rest will take care of itself. And
- 54:38Speaker 4: I think it's it's very clear. If you win and
- 54:40Speaker 4: you take care of business, everyone will be right where
- 54:42Speaker 4: they want to be. So I got a winner's mentality.
- 54:45Speaker 4: I just want to see a dove at the end
- 54:46Speaker 4: of the game. And like I said, the rest will
- 54:48Speaker 4: take care of yourself.
- 54:49Speaker 7: All right, final thing, give me your amount. Rushmore musical artist, favorite.
- 54:51Speaker 4: Artists controversial right now, but I love Drake.
- 54:55Speaker 7: Oh come on, I love you.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Just got annihilated.
- 54:59Speaker 4: Yeah, man, know what he's gonna come back? Head up,
- 55:01Speaker 4: young king. You know patience, I would say, Drake Party
- 55:07Speaker 4: next door has been unreal recently, just kind of my vibe.
- 55:12Speaker 4: I like to you know, chill, Central Sea has been
- 55:16Speaker 4: He's not on the Rushmore, but he's been the lately.
- 55:18Speaker 4: The kid LaRoy and Bryson Tiller, you.
- 55:22Speaker 3: Know Party next Door.
- 55:23Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean they gotta have been on it lately.
- 55:25Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, chushable album covers, but hey yeah, yeah, we're
- 55:29Speaker 4: not judging.
- 55:29Speaker 3: We're a lot of.
- 55:32Speaker 10: We're there's so much gear we're in, like the backup
- 55:35Speaker 10: gear's helmets and you've got a machine that measures your feet.
- 55:38Speaker 7: Wouldn't be cool if every player could pick their own
- 55:40Speaker 7: uniform and you guys just all went out your own
- 55:42Speaker 7: individual uniform.
- 55:42Speaker 4: That you could do that with organ, Yeah, not a
- 55:45Speaker 4: lot of school. Everybody had their Hey appreciate you, of course, yeah,
- 55:49Speaker 4: good lives appreciate you.
