- 0:09Speaker 2: Now back to the Mark Simon show on woor.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 0:17Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Jay
- 0:20Speaker 1: in Hudson County. J How you doing, hey, Mark?
- 0:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 0:24Speaker 3: What do you think about John Kats and Matiti's meeting
- 0:27Speaker 3: sol On? You You think that's you know, they're doing
- 0:30Speaker 3: some deal down there with WABC.
- 0:32Speaker 1: No, Actually they're working on a top secret deal which
- 0:36Speaker 1: I can reveal here. We John and I do the
- 0:39Speaker 1: Police Athletic League. He's the chairman. I'm on the board
- 0:42Speaker 1: and we do these big luncheons every month, and every
- 0:44Speaker 1: mayor always speaks, and we've been trying to get the
- 0:47Speaker 1: mayor to speak and keep getting It's difficult working through
- 0:52Speaker 1: the staff. So he actually went to ask him to
- 0:54Speaker 1: do that luncheon, which I think he's agreed to. I'm
- 0:56Speaker 1: sure other things came up. It was a forty minute meeting,
- 0:59Speaker 1: but the main purpose of that is to get them
- 1:02Speaker 1: to the luncheon, and I think we got them silence
- 1:07Speaker 1: all right, Well, uh, it's all for a good cause.
- 1:11Speaker 1: A lot of it was about the Police Athletic League,
- 1:12Speaker 1: which is the best children's charity in New York, helps
- 1:16Speaker 1: minority kids, does a lot of good and he was
- 1:19Speaker 1: very interested to hear about it. So, see, the one
- 1:22Speaker 1: thing you want to do with these luncheons. It's all
- 1:23Speaker 1: top business people CEOs and they want to meet and
- 1:26Speaker 1: we did one two days ago, fire commissioner, new fire commissioner.
- 1:29Speaker 1: They want to meet all the new leaders all and
- 1:31Speaker 1: it's good for the politicians that meet all the business
- 1:34Speaker 1: leaders because they need to know most of these guys
- 1:37Speaker 1: are their single biggest taxpayers. And in any business, you
- 1:40Speaker 1: want to go talk to your biggest customers, and if
- 1:43Speaker 1: you're the biggest taxpayers, you're the biggest customers. Let's go
- 1:46Speaker 1: to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing, Good morning, Mark, Yes, Mike, this.
- 1:53Speaker 3: A couple of things. But anyway, this Facebook thing is
- 1:55Speaker 3: kind of a dangerous president. But you know, they said
- 1:57Speaker 3: the same thing about rock and roll, and he said
- 2:00Speaker 3: the same thing about FM radio, and they said the
- 2:01Speaker 3: same thing about television that it was warping the brains
- 2:05Speaker 3: of kids and it was addicting them to these various
- 2:08Speaker 3: media sources and it's a it's a big lie, you know.
- 2:13Speaker 3: So this jury in LA has said a bad precedent,
- 2:16Speaker 3: and you're right. They have to fight this tooth and
- 2:18Speaker 3: nail because it's going to cost everybody millions, if not
- 2:22Speaker 3: billions in the long run.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah. The idea that Facebook
- 2:27Speaker 1: is addictive because of the way they use the algorithm.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It makes perfect sense if you see what somebody likes
- 2:35Speaker 1: when uh. And one of the arguments was when the
- 2:37Speaker 1: YouTube thing, when it when the video ends, it goes
- 2:41Speaker 1: right into the next videos. They figured out something else
- 2:43Speaker 1: you would like, and then that starts playing next. But
- 2:45Speaker 1: you can shut that off whatever they call that automatic whatever,
- 2:50Speaker 1: continuous play, you can shut it off. But everybody does that.
- 2:54Speaker 1: We do that in the radio. We've always done that
- 2:55Speaker 1: in the radio. You know, when they're Gorono commercial and
- 2:58Speaker 1: they say coming up next, what the most expensive hotel
- 3:01Speaker 1: room in the world. That's called the tease. That's to
- 3:04Speaker 1: get you to stay through the break and listen. It's
- 3:06Speaker 1: done all the time in all kinds of businesses. Let's
- 3:09Speaker 1: go to Rich in fair Lawn. Rich how you doing.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I'm doing fine, sir, Yes, I was twenty years old
- 3:16Speaker 3: going into Fort Dicks. For my basic.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Training was that for World War One, played Joonie Jean's
- 3:22Speaker 2: record all over there.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You used to play James record.
- 3:26Speaker 4: What happened to her?
- 3:27Speaker 1: Well, she'd be about one hundred and fifty eight now
- 3:30Speaker 1: I think she's probably dead. That would be the nineteen fifties, right.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Right, yes, fifty three, fifty four.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Okay, that's uh, hang on, my math is not that good.
- 3:39Speaker 1: That'd be like seventy two, seventy three years ago. Let's
- 3:43Speaker 1: say she was thirty then. That put her in the hundreds.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I would assume she's no longer with us. Oh okay,
- 3:50Speaker 1: all right, thanks for calling. Yeah, you know it was
- 3:54Speaker 1: before my time, but we used to hear about this
- 3:56Speaker 1: Jony James. Apparently back then in the fifties, she was
- 4:00Speaker 1: right hot stuff there because a lot of these guys
- 4:02Speaker 1: had quite a thing for Joni James. Let's go to
- 4:05Speaker 1: Mara and Nevada. Mara, how you doing so good?
- 4:08Speaker 5: I'm talking to you, Chap Vinton. I gotta talk Fisk
- 4:11Speaker 5: because Vincent's coming up behind me. All right, Mark, if
- 4:14Speaker 5: the Dems could screw up, I have two things. If
- 4:17Speaker 5: the Dems could screw up Trump's two hundred and fiftieth anniversary.
- 4:21Speaker 5: They would love it, love it, love it. And number two,
- 4:24Speaker 5: how come Trump can't put a freeze on mortgage payments,
- 4:28Speaker 5: rent payment, loan payment for these TSA workers. They're gonna
- 4:32Speaker 5: get all their back pay and then they'll bring everything
- 4:34Speaker 5: up to date.
- 4:35Speaker 1: They excellent idea. Thanks for calling. Let's go to Vincent
- 4:41Speaker 1: and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Mary. This is what I'm
- 4:45Speaker 2: about to say. This is one of the reasons why
- 4:48Speaker 2: we need Bruce Blakeman and why Bruce Blakeman is gonna win.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yesterday I heard a story, and in keeping with wanting
- 4:57Speaker 2: to protect the illegal aliens, that Joe Biden let it.
- 5:00Speaker 2: And there was a story that an illegal alien raped
- 5:04Speaker 2: the five year old girl out in Long Island, and
- 5:08Speaker 2: only one local channel in Long Handel Channel twelve gave
- 5:13Speaker 2: it about thirty seconds of airtime. None of the big
- 5:17Speaker 2: three stations in New York wanted to give it any airtime.
- 5:22Speaker 2: And I heard this story. This bum, what he did?
- 5:26Speaker 2: This poor little girl needed reconstructive surgery. He was babysitting
- 5:32Speaker 2: this girl, this bum, And what does it speak about
- 5:34Speaker 2: the parents? They were probably illegals too. What did it
- 5:40Speaker 2: speak about the parents and the fake news? They didn't
- 5:43Speaker 2: They didn't say a thing about this.
- 5:46Speaker 4: I couldn't believe it. I heard, I heard the broadcast
- 5:49Speaker 4: last night of the TV person out of the TV
- 5:53Speaker 4: announcer talking and telling the story. And this person was released.
- 5:58Speaker 4: They caught him in the country, and the Biden administration
- 6:02Speaker 4: released this guy. That's why Bruce Blakelin is gonna be
- 6:09Speaker 4: the next governor of the Vincent.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Great call, thanks for calling you. Coming up the next hour,
- 6:14Speaker 1: we'll get to this. We'll get back to that because
- 6:16Speaker 1: and there's also the story of Loyola in Chicago. This
- 6:20Speaker 1: student from Yorktown Heights, from Westchester shot executed by an
- 6:24Speaker 1: illegal an the illegal immigrant and all the things that
- 6:28Speaker 1: surrounded this story are unbelievable. We'll get to that coming
- 6:32Speaker 1: up in the next hour. And coming up next the
- 6:35Speaker 1: hunt for Steve Moore. I think you'll be here. We'll
- 6:37Speaker 1: talk to Steve Moore, the great economist. Lots to talk
- 6:40Speaker 1: to him about oil, energy, stock market prices, economy, all
- 6:45Speaker 1: that stuff. We'll get to that coming up in a moment.
- 6:47Speaker 1: On seven to ten, WR
