- 3:03Speaker 2: past the words of I love you? Y'all know them
- 3:08Speaker 2: three hard to say words, especially when they getting on
- 3:12Speaker 2: your last nerve and you want to chalk them in
- 3:14Speaker 2: their right eyes, sing them in the left okay. And
- 3:18Speaker 2: author of contemporary romances, she writes heartwarming story that a
- 3:23Speaker 2: blossoming relationship fills with heart and humor. When Olivia's not writing,
- 3:29Speaker 2: she's joined quotingly playing scrabble. Now I'm miss Olivia. I'm
- 3:36Speaker 2: a spell check type girl. I'm sorry you will win
- 3:40Speaker 2: against me every day. She is an avid world traveler,
- 3:45Speaker 2: so may might have to ask her where she's been.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Who writes many mice, writes many of her locations and
- 3:52Speaker 2: their stories. So let's bring up missus Olivia Jaines. Come
- 3:56Speaker 2: on up, Gary, come on up.
- 3:59Speaker 4: I am on stage. Kenny.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You got a little thing going on here. We're gonna
- 4:06Speaker 2: get that things for you were gonna get that. She
- 4:11Speaker 2: got a little lean going on.
- 4:13Speaker 4: It's all good, y'all.
- 4:14Speaker 2: We got a little lean. Okay, tell us a little
- 4:18Speaker 2: bit more about yourself other than what I've already read
- 4:21Speaker 2: about your wonderful bio. And you're a beautiful personality.
- 4:26Speaker 4: We go, we're straighten Okay, Okay, the glasses are given
- 4:30Speaker 4: a glass. I'm gonna just put those up top, so
- 4:32Speaker 4: don't think I'm just trying to be cool or anything. Glare. Okay,
- 4:36Speaker 4: there we are. Okay. I am a journalist by trade,
- 4:40Speaker 4: so I am a I am. I am a writer.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I have been a writer all of my life. I
- 4:48Speaker 4: started writing romances after I had stopped teaching. And my
- 4:55Speaker 4: husband's like, you've been teaching people to write for so long,
- 4:58Speaker 4: won't you write yourself? And I sat down one day
- 5:01Speaker 4: and I found this image of this half dressed woman
- 5:04Speaker 4: and she was being nibbled on and I said, this
- 5:06Speaker 4: look like something that happens in Vegas. And I had
- 5:09Speaker 4: my son do me a cover, and I put it
- 5:13Speaker 4: out there, just a little novella. Put it out there,
- 5:17Speaker 4: and I had typos in it, just to see she
- 5:21Speaker 4: had at allergy allergic reaction to peanuts and I had
- 5:26Speaker 4: her eagle snickers and yeah, I put it out there.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Came back two days later and had sold five hundred copies,
- 5:34Speaker 4: and I was what, And then I was scrambling. I
- 5:38Speaker 4: did a one page, one page website and people start
- 5:43Speaker 4: writing me, well, what happens next? What happens next? And
- 5:46Speaker 4: then I started getting the reviews, those bad reviews, Well
- 5:50Speaker 4: she's no sea in a minx, she's no pepper paste.
- 5:53Speaker 4: And I'm like, they, who is who is seeing a mix?
- 5:59Speaker 4: And I had to go look them up. And then
- 6:02Speaker 4: somebody make this comment that they're okay, they've got too
- 6:06Speaker 4: much sex?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Was it fine?
- 6:09Speaker 4: So I began to write a different series with a
- 6:12Speaker 4: man and a woman. They ended up with a ten
- 6:14Speaker 4: book series, and I'll never forget. I was at a
- 6:17Speaker 4: conference and I was six books into the series and
- 6:21Speaker 4: I'm standing there and I said, the series has no
- 6:24Speaker 4: sex and the room got quiet. I said, see, you
- 6:28Speaker 4: can't tell me I can't write. You didn't even realize it.
- 6:32Speaker 4: So that's how I got started a book with no sex,
- 6:40Speaker 4: absolutely engaging. It was making the charts in Australia, you know, girl, ma'am.
- 6:48Speaker 2: So how about you go ahead and tell us the
- 6:50Speaker 2: title of that one? So thou the Blakemorephiles. That is
- 6:54Speaker 2: the Blakemorephiles.
- 6:55Speaker 4: You've got Saxton and Odessa Blakemore And the series is
- 7:01Speaker 4: available still is available unlimited, so I think the first
- 7:06Speaker 4: book is free in the series. It's an action adventure series.
- 7:10Speaker 4: They are uh interracial couple. They are dealing with human
- 7:14Speaker 4: trafficking and the story starts off with her on a
- 7:18Speaker 4: cruise to Mexico and she's nearly kidnapped and she sees
- 7:22Speaker 4: him sitting at one of these little cantenas and she
- 7:26Speaker 4: walks over to him and she says, okay, puck her up,
- 7:30Speaker 4: big guy, because they're after me, and he's like, okay,
- 7:33Speaker 4: here we go, you know, And it just picks up
- 7:35Speaker 4: from there and I'm like, well, what do you do
- 7:37Speaker 4: if you wake up handcuffed to a big white guy
- 7:40Speaker 4: wearing a wedding ring and covered in some sticky yes.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Yes, okay, yeah, she got you on that one.
- 7:52Speaker 4: I'm telling you, the series is so much fun to read.
- 7:57Speaker 4: It deals with some serious issues, but the characters are
- 8:00Speaker 4: so beloved that I've done spin offs and people are
- 8:04Speaker 4: after me now to do a spin off on one
- 8:07Speaker 4: of the brothers of the bad Guy because the bad
- 8:09Speaker 4: Guy ended up being so likable and so loveable.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Ooh, Now you know you got a good book. When
- 8:16Speaker 2: the bad guy becomes a likable character. That's when you
- 8:19Speaker 2: know you sitting on a gold mine right there. So
- 8:24Speaker 2: you said you were a teacher. I like to guess
- 8:28Speaker 2: what age, what group I'm thinking. I was going to
- 8:33Speaker 2: see college freshman.
- 8:38Speaker 4: I was teaching at a two year college, okay, And
- 8:42Speaker 4: what we found was that we had to actually resocialize
- 8:47Speaker 4: them in order to prepare them for the career changes
- 8:53Speaker 4: that they were doing. So yeah, so my public speaking
- 8:58Speaker 4: and English classes were simple things. They walk in the door,
- 9:04Speaker 4: how are you, I'm good. No, I'm doing well, and
- 9:08Speaker 4: one of the students I ran into her. Years later,
- 9:11Speaker 4: she says she was at the hospital and one of
- 9:15Speaker 4: the doctors asked me. She asked, one of the doctors,
- 9:17Speaker 4: how are you doing? He said, I'm doing well, and
- 9:19Speaker 4: she said I'm glad to hear it. And she just
- 9:21Speaker 4: starts out still grinning all day long. She said, because
- 9:24Speaker 4: I never thought that I would actually use that.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yeah, now that is something that can be used today. Yes,
- 9:34Speaker 2: every day. I've got a ten year old you could
- 9:36Speaker 2: speak to. How was your day? Fine?
- 9:41Speaker 4: No?
- 9:42Speaker 2: No, no, it's just fine. It's fine.
- 9:44Speaker 4: I'm doing well, just fine.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Okay, you know what, You're not allowed to stay fine
- 9:51Speaker 2: for the rest of the year.
- 9:53Speaker 4: And she said, okay, I would make them finer than
- 9:57Speaker 4: what are you finer than Meek? Are you finer than
- 10:01Speaker 4: cat Hare? How fine are you? Darling? Oh god, yes, yes,
- 10:06Speaker 4: give me some adjectives to go with that, you know,
- 10:09Speaker 4: come on, expand that.
- 10:11Speaker 2: So you hit the ground running with this novella and
- 10:17Speaker 2: you have such a welcoming or crazy or however you
- 10:22Speaker 2: want to say, reaction. What's going through your mind? Like,
- 10:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna be I'm gonna do this off the thing.
- 10:33Speaker 4: I'm gonna do this full time. Ah, I'm gonna actually
- 10:38Speaker 4: do this full time.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I'm gonna sit down and I'm gonna go past the
- 10:42Speaker 2: novella and I'm gonna write a novel and I wrote
- 10:45Speaker 2: a novel and then I got a notice from somebody
- 10:48Speaker 2: that I have won the twenty fifteen Swirl Author of
- 10:52Speaker 2: the Year or Book of the Year or some award,
- 10:55Speaker 2: and I even know what that was. And I'm like, oh, okay,
- 11:02Speaker 2: I'm good at this time, I can do this.
- 11:06Speaker 4: And then I wrote the next one and everybody hated it,
- 11:08Speaker 4: and I was like, they hate me, but you know what,
- 11:16Speaker 4: you kept going, because how many books do you have
- 11:18Speaker 4: published now? I really I don't know. I think on
- 11:25Speaker 4: my fifty fifth birthday, I was at fifty five and
- 11:28Speaker 4: I just did fifty nine last week, So I don't know.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Because I will do two to three novels a year,
- 11:38Speaker 4: but then in the summer I'll do like a novella series,
- 11:43Speaker 4: and sometimes it is just like this year, I did
- 11:46Speaker 4: like a three book novella. It was all Scooby Dewish
- 11:50Speaker 4: and stuff. They had a mystery to solve and the
- 11:53Speaker 4: readers had clue pas to see if they could solve
- 11:56Speaker 4: the mystery. And it was just three books. It was
- 11:59Speaker 4: June July August and that was it, just three and
- 12:02Speaker 4: they were just back to back, and you know that
- 12:05Speaker 4: way the readers were engaged and they was trying to
- 12:07Speaker 4: figure out the clues, and it.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Was just it was just fun, you know. And I
- 12:12Speaker 2: love those novellas because I work at a library. I
- 12:16Speaker 2: really don't have time to sit down here and engage
- 12:19Speaker 2: in a whole book. I love when I could sit
- 12:22Speaker 2: on that desk. You don't hear me say this, but
- 12:25Speaker 2: I sit on that desk. I go help my patron
- 12:31Speaker 2: whatever they need to do. But then I can come
- 12:33Speaker 2: back and be like, oh, yeah, I was here, and
- 12:35Speaker 2: I keep going and maybe by the end of the
- 12:38Speaker 2: day I've already read a novella and feel like I've
- 12:41Speaker 2: gotten breakfast, lunch, and dinner of the literary broken. You know,
- 12:46Speaker 2: So I, as a reader who really need them drop
- 12:50Speaker 2: it to me real quick. I appreciate it. I really
- 12:53Speaker 2: do appreciate it. Some authors are totally against it, but
- 12:57Speaker 2: I love that. And the fact that you three books
- 13:01Speaker 2: a year and then you turn around and you still
- 13:04Speaker 2: do novellas. I love it. I love it. I love it.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Well. Not everyone wants the long term relationship with a novel,
- 13:13Speaker 4: because sometimes you get I was reading one and I
- 13:18Speaker 4: end up writing the author because I knew her, and
- 13:20Speaker 4: I'm like, I am sick of these people in the
- 13:22Speaker 4: sex scene. The sex scene is twelve pages. Why I'm
- 13:25Speaker 4: tired of them? She needs to go to bed. They
- 13:29Speaker 4: were just carrying on way too long.
- 13:31Speaker 2: She said, they need to go to bed.
- 13:33Speaker 4: No bad, I'm tired for her.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Hey, hold up, man, that's my type of book. Sixty
- 13:42Speaker 2: five she just gotta flipped twice.
- 13:44Speaker 4: That's my type of book.
- 13:46Speaker 5: And I'm like, okay, can we go to the next chapter.
- 13:55Speaker 5: I end up writing her.
- 13:57Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm mad at these people. I'm mad at him.
- 14:00Speaker 4: I'm tired of his penis.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Jesus, Hey, y'all, I came back, and I came back
- 14:08Speaker 2: with a fire crack you know what, saying. We haven't
- 14:12Speaker 2: even talked about the book.
- 14:14Speaker 4: We haven't even got to the technicians. How we doing.
- 14:17Speaker 4: We're okay on time, We're okay on time.
- 14:21Speaker 2: We haven't even got to you yet. So Lord Jesus
- 14:26Speaker 2: is sometimes who what is your genre? If you can
- 14:31Speaker 2: choose one genre, say this is mine, this is my baby,
- 14:36Speaker 2: this is what I love to write. Can you do
- 14:39Speaker 2: that or is.
- 14:40Speaker 4: There a secretary? I am only in one genre. I
- 14:44Speaker 4: am a I am a contemporary romance writer. Now I
- 14:49Speaker 4: can do contemporary romance with romantic intrigue elements, or romantic
- 14:55Speaker 4: suspense elements, or action adventure. But I I am contemporary.
- 15:01Speaker 4: It is set right now. I'm not trying to go
- 15:03Speaker 4: back to the past where somebody was a slave, or
- 15:06Speaker 4: having to put on a bustle or try to figure
- 15:08Speaker 4: out how to peel you while sitting in this chair.
- 15:10Speaker 4: I don't want to do none of that. But what
- 15:14Speaker 4: I can do, I can give you a history lesson,
- 15:18Speaker 4: all right, because you get a history lesson a moral
- 15:20Speaker 4: dilemma in every book. And I'm going to take you
- 15:24Speaker 4: to the best place in this town to get whatever
- 15:28Speaker 4: this is. Because usually my modern mail order brides, they
- 15:33Speaker 4: are each in a different state and some little podunk town,
- 15:38Speaker 4: and I'm usually there. I actually go to the state.
- 15:42Speaker 4: I listen to the vernacular, I try the food. When
- 15:47Speaker 4: I did lobsters, bisk and berries Maine, I was in Maine.
- 15:52Speaker 4: I went to the lighthouse. I had a lobster roll
- 15:54Speaker 4: that tasted like chewy. I don't know what that was,
- 15:58Speaker 4: but I had one.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I don't know what it was, but I had one.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Was it good? Was it good?
- 16:08Speaker 4: I've never been a big lobster fan, you know, it
- 16:13Speaker 4: just it just it doesn't have a lot of flavor.
- 16:17Speaker 2: It's like flavored chewing gum to me.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:22Speaker 4: But there are people who can't eat cilantro because cilantro
- 16:25Speaker 4: tastes like soap to them. And I made to be
- 16:28Speaker 4: one of those people. My co worker is like that, Yeah,
- 16:33Speaker 4: that just don't resonate. Yes, So so.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Blind you guys stone blind. This Helen Lady, this Helen Lady.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Okay, I got, I gotta, I got to back.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Up a little bit, Okay, Okay.
- 16:50Speaker 4: So I was up the night before and I had
- 16:57Speaker 4: watched John Wick. The next day I was watching Wrecked
- 17:02Speaker 4: Ralph with my grandson, Okay, and the whole thing was
- 17:07Speaker 4: Zan Grief and the and the and the truth circle,
- 17:12Speaker 4: and Zan Grief saying, you know, bad guy, maybe bad guy,
- 17:16Speaker 4: not so bad. So that's how the technicians came about.
- 17:20Speaker 4: What if the guys that live in the in the
- 17:22Speaker 4: Continental with John Wick actually had a chance to get
- 17:26Speaker 4: a family. And so each of these technicians, not all
- 17:31Speaker 4: of them are assassins, but most of them are for
- 17:35Speaker 4: a covert arm of the government. All right, what if
- 17:42Speaker 4: they go out to work but they come home to
- 17:44Speaker 4: Wednesday night meat loaf and a little girl that's got
- 17:47Speaker 4: him wrapped around his finger, the one in the center,
- 17:55Speaker 4: one of the blinds, actually won the Emerald Award because
- 17:58Speaker 4: that little girl wrapped him around her finger and he
- 18:02Speaker 4: was the scariest technician in the group of ten. So
- 18:06Speaker 4: with that in mind, technicians are usually military or they
- 18:12Speaker 4: have one of those bad people that have hit the
- 18:15Speaker 4: government's radar that they're on the watch list, and so
- 18:19Speaker 4: they give them these jobs that they oversee a state.
- 18:23Speaker 4: And mister Exit actually lives in Hilton Head, so he
- 18:27Speaker 4: covers South Carolina and North Carolina. Okay, Miss Helen is
- 18:33Speaker 4: going to be the first technician that's actually in training.
- 18:38Speaker 4: She is going to be trained, and I can't do
- 18:42Speaker 4: it in one book, so I'm going to do it
- 18:44Speaker 4: in four. Catch that breath, okay, Because each technician has
- 18:52Speaker 4: a specialty, and these are the fruits of the Great Lakes.
- 18:57Speaker 4: So we've got bad Apple in Wisconsin. He is an assassin,
- 19:02Speaker 4: so she spends the first book Stone Blind with him,
- 19:06Speaker 4: and then she goes to Night Blind with Lemon, who
- 19:10Speaker 4: is a poison specialist. And Lemon is a chemist.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Passion Fruit is an Illinois and she is an accident specialist,
- 19:22Speaker 4: and the last one sour grapes. She is cyber, and
- 19:27Speaker 4: so Helen gets to spend three months with each one
- 19:30Speaker 4: of them learning how to do all of that good stuff.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Okay, mm hmmm, I'm scared of here.
- 19:41Speaker 4: You better be, because in between all of that, she's
- 19:44Speaker 4: got this sexy, sexy man named Mustang, and they trying
- 19:49Speaker 4: to figure it all out. Now, the funny thing about
- 19:53Speaker 4: Helen is that she still has this naivete. So she
- 19:59Speaker 4: learns how to do tracking. Okay, how do to track somebody?
- 20:03Speaker 4: The first thing she did was track Mustang. Uh huh.
- 20:08Speaker 4: When she learns how to do accidents, she's gonna stage
- 20:12Speaker 4: this accident in the home for him to fall and
- 20:15Speaker 4: land face first in a lap. And of course, with
- 20:25Speaker 4: her learning chemistry, the first thing she thinks to make
- 20:28Speaker 4: is a love potion. Writing that scene because I've already
- 20:32Speaker 4: written the next book, So stone Blind is written night Blind,
- 20:37Speaker 4: not night Blind. The next Blind book is with the editor,
- 20:42Speaker 4: and so January I'll start writing the third one, so
- 20:48Speaker 4: they're all fresh in my mind. But yeah, and Helen,
- 20:52Speaker 4: Helen's a bad chick. She's a bad chick. So you
- 20:59Speaker 4: wasn't for me.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I surely wasn't, said beguil. I've been ready for this,
- 21:07Speaker 2: so you're telling me she gets to hang out with
- 21:10Speaker 2: all these different technicians. I like the fact that you
- 21:14Speaker 2: call them technicians.
- 21:16Speaker 4: They're all technicians, they all have a specialty.
- 21:18Speaker 2: And she's this, okay, she's learning how I'm gonna love you,
- 21:27Speaker 2: but I'm a stage of accidents, so you can give
- 21:30Speaker 2: me the love I want. Then I'm gonna poison you
- 21:33Speaker 2: to meet you still loving me, and I'm gonna trust
- 21:36Speaker 2: she's not.
- 21:36Speaker 4: She's not poisoning him. She's just figuring out how to
- 21:39Speaker 4: make a love potion love a love potion, and his
- 21:45Speaker 4: reaction to it is absolutely hysterical. And Helen is is
- 21:51Speaker 4: is really she's had a rough go of it. Have
- 21:58Speaker 4: you ever met a person that they're is just something
- 22:01Speaker 4: about them and that people are automatically drawn to them. Yes, okay,
- 22:07Speaker 4: she's one of those people. And unfortunately some of the
- 22:11Speaker 4: people that were drawn to her weren't very good people,
- 22:15Speaker 4: and she's had some bad things happen to her. But
- 22:18Speaker 4: she's stepping into this power and understanding I'm okay, and
- 22:26Speaker 4: her cousin, who has always been the silent guard, she
- 22:31Speaker 4: begins to understand that maybe what she was doing and
- 22:37Speaker 4: protecting me. She was actually damaging my self esteem.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Oh m hm, m hm. How did you come up
- 22:54Speaker 2: with all this when I'm a little bit of the
- 22:58Speaker 2: couple on the screen. You guys can get it, but
- 23:02Speaker 2: we'll talk and all that at the end.
- 23:07Speaker 4: With this I wanted. Helen started in a night blind
- 23:14Speaker 4: she actually started in blind Spot. In blind Spot, she
- 23:18Speaker 4: was actually kidnapped by a guy who's called the Collector
- 23:22Speaker 4: who collected dolls, and he had a Mexican doll, an
- 23:26Speaker 4: Italian doll, an Asian doll, and he wanted a chocolate
- 23:31Speaker 4: doll because he wanted soul food on Thursday nights. Yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 4: and her cousin, the Cherry on Top, had to go
- 23:42Speaker 4: and rescue her. So you see Helen in two books,
- 23:50Speaker 4: but now she's getting her own. And I thought to
- 23:54Speaker 4: keep the series fresh, as there's already ten books, Helen
- 23:58Speaker 4: is number They think this is no.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Eleven.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Hell it is number twelve. And to keep the series fresh,
- 24:05Speaker 4: I'm reversing it because the first ten are all about
- 24:09Speaker 4: these men rescuing these women. I'm reversing it. This four
- 24:15Speaker 4: books is all about the women who are rescuing these men.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Okay, so now how do your readers feel about that
- 24:25Speaker 2: because you know, they like to keep us in that
- 24:31Speaker 2: role whereas we're the anthems. You're taking us out of
- 24:36Speaker 2: distress and you're making us like the equalizer. Stuff going
- 24:40Speaker 2: on here, So, I mean, is what we are right now?
- 24:45Speaker 2: What made you wanted to reverse the rules like that?
- 24:51Speaker 4: I did get some complaints that why did these black
- 24:55Speaker 4: women all have to be downtrodden? Why did they all
- 24:59Speaker 4: have to be rescued?
- 25:02Speaker 2: Okay okay?
- 25:05Speaker 4: And I'm like, did they have to be rescued or
- 25:10Speaker 4: were they the ones that was rescuing the men? Because
- 25:14Speaker 4: the men have worked for the government, you know, they
- 25:17Speaker 4: are you know, hired to do certain jobs. And just
- 25:22Speaker 4: because they work for the government still don't stop them
- 25:25Speaker 4: from being basically assassins and killers. And the men don't
- 25:29Speaker 4: consider themselves to be worthy of love. And here are
- 25:34Speaker 4: these women and these kids. And the kids are just
- 25:37Speaker 4: as dynamic as the assassins are, because some of the
- 25:41Speaker 4: kids would just steal your absolute heart at each at
- 25:50Speaker 4: each kid in each book, they stay with you, They
- 25:54Speaker 4: stay with you. Her daughter with mister Slow, Naomi, Naomi
- 26:01Speaker 4: was just she the readers absolutely loved her. I had
- 26:06Speaker 4: to bring her back into another book because they wanted
- 26:08Speaker 4: to know what was happening with her, you know.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Okay, so you know I got to put this on
- 26:17Speaker 2: my twenty twenty five read.
- 26:19Speaker 4: I just.
- 26:21Speaker 2: But now we get to have some fun questions at
- 26:25Speaker 2: the the last five ten minutes of sie book outs
- 26:30Speaker 2: and friends, we have fun questions, okay. And it always
- 26:33Speaker 2: brings social media or entertainment, which is one thing I
- 26:37Speaker 2: love entertainment, movies and TV shows and bring your book in.
- 26:43Speaker 2: So Helen is a female rapper? Who would she be?
- 26:55Speaker 4: And why?
- 26:56Speaker 1: Now?
- 27:00Speaker 2: Okay, okay, why.
- 27:02Speaker 4: I'm not afraid of a sweat. I can't.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I can't with you. I can't you not think the
- 27:11Speaker 2: light going up? Look ah, I can't with you?
- 27:16Speaker 4: So you would be an EMCE light. She is in
- 27:19Speaker 4: the room. You know she's in the room. She ain't
- 27:21Speaker 4: even gotta say anything, but you know she's there, and
- 27:25Speaker 4: she is that power behind because you don't see mc
- 27:30Speaker 4: light in a lot of places, but you'll see her name.
- 27:33Speaker 2: But you know that voice and you know that need
- 27:37Speaker 2: and when those.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Board shows come on, you hear her.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Know is I was thinking Queenlatifa mm hmm, But you
- 27:46Speaker 2: said mc light and that makes a lot of sense
- 27:50Speaker 2: with this character. Yes, must say he's an R and
- 27:55Speaker 2: B artist? Who would he be?
- 27:59Speaker 4: Mustang? As body? Oh?
- 28:04Speaker 2: Who has a body in R and B?
- 28:08Speaker 4: He would be somebody like?
- 28:09Speaker 2: Uh?
- 28:10Speaker 4: Would he be? Would be a tank? What do you
- 28:15Speaker 4: I'm thinking?
- 28:16Speaker 2: Tank? Yeah, thats a nice body. I'm sorry. I apologize, y'all.
- 28:22Speaker 2: I have some thoughts. Okay, okay, he's a specimen.
- 28:33Speaker 4: And so.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Where do you see your journey with Helen going? I
- 28:40Speaker 2: know you you have some her and some several other books.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Yes, I wanted to give her four books because I
- 28:51Speaker 4: wanted to give Helen four books because she's not only
- 28:56Speaker 4: learning to be a technician, she's also learning to love herself.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I was just about to see that.
- 29:05Speaker 4: She's learning to love herself, but she's also learning through
- 29:09Speaker 4: Mustang that she's capable of loving and caring deeply. And
- 29:16Speaker 4: her first book, Stone Blind, she's with bad Apple, and
- 29:20Speaker 4: bad Apple is really testing her. He's really testing her
- 29:24Speaker 4: because he comes in and he has a plan for
- 29:27Speaker 4: I need you to do this, this, this, this, this,
- 29:29Speaker 4: and she's looking at him with that sister girl look
- 29:31Speaker 4: like and he never laughs and the look.
- 29:38Speaker 2: That she gives him and she's just and he can't
- 29:41Speaker 2: do anything but kind of chuckle because that expression is universal,
- 29:46Speaker 2: so he knows exactly what it is that she's saying
- 29:49Speaker 2: that she's not saying aloud.
- 29:51Speaker 4: And he really likes her. The kids that he has,
- 29:56Speaker 4: the three boys that he has, he really they really
- 30:00Speaker 4: like her. And he gives her a task just to
- 30:03Speaker 4: see how her brain operates, you know, and she comes
- 30:07Speaker 4: back with flying colors and the contractor that he has
- 30:10Speaker 4: there as well. It's like, I think I love her
- 30:13Speaker 4: At every chapter, I think I'm falling for her. I
- 30:17Speaker 4: think where is she going? Why she leaves?
- 30:23Speaker 2: I love the fact that you have all these elements
- 30:26Speaker 2: in the book and it seems like this something going
- 30:29Speaker 2: on is never a dull moment. I hate those books
- 30:32Speaker 2: that give me that two three chapters of you could
- 30:36Speaker 2: have left this out because it seems like yours just like,
- 30:42Speaker 2: all right, cool, well we're up to next, all right, cool?
- 30:44Speaker 2: But hold up she did that? Oh all right cool.
- 30:46Speaker 2: I'm loving that.
- 30:47Speaker 4: But she actually has to go to work, okay, because
- 30:52Speaker 4: in Night Blinde, she actually had to go to work
- 30:56Speaker 4: and she had to fill in for her cousin okay,
- 31:03Speaker 4: and she ended up taking out two targets versus the one,
- 31:08Speaker 4: and they wanted to know, well, why did you take
- 31:10Speaker 4: out the second target? We've been after him for nearly
- 31:14Speaker 4: a decade. How did you know to drop him? She said,
- 31:17Speaker 4: he had on those white leather shoes with that white belt.
- 31:21Speaker 4: And they're like what she said, are you frozen?
- 31:25Speaker 2: No, she just got me like, the white leather shoes
- 31:30Speaker 2: and the white belt white because he can't be blood
- 31:32Speaker 2: on it.
- 31:34Speaker 4: Oh no, no, she said, I have never met a
- 31:36Speaker 4: guy that wasn't a pervert that didn't have on those
- 31:39Speaker 4: white leather shoes and the white belt, and bad Apple
- 31:45Speaker 4: says I would have dropped him too.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Okay, so you know what, just just just yeah, please
- 31:53Speaker 2: tell us how we can get this book please available.
- 31:58Speaker 4: I'm putting together the paperback if you want the paperback copy.
- 32:01Speaker 4: But it is available across all platforms Eyebooks. I don't
- 32:06Speaker 4: do Google Books, okay, I don't trust Google books neither.

- 32:45Speaker 4: enjoy their Thanksgiving.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Okay, so you guys, remember it's dropping Thanksgiving night and
- 32:52Speaker 2: what she.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Told me about midnight?
- 32:54Speaker 2: By midnight? Midnight?
- 32:59Speaker 4: When when is Thanksgiving? And Thursday morning? Thanksgiving? Thursday? Yeah,
- 33:05Speaker 4: twelve oh one on Thursday. It is available twelve on
- 33:08Speaker 4: one Thursday.
- 33:08Speaker 2: You guys, she said, let them look at the game.
- 33:13Speaker 2: You go in the corner. What you want to dream
- 33:18Speaker 2: for me, it will be a bottle.
- 33:20Speaker 4: And let me tell you something else, guys. One of
- 33:23Speaker 4: the things that the readers wanted in the last book
- 33:26Speaker 4: that they didn't get is that she and Mustang had
- 33:30Speaker 4: an interaction. They wanted it on the page. Okay, Chapter
- 33:34Speaker 4: one is on the page. All right, y'all remember that
- 33:42Speaker 4: at the door with his trademark, this trade mark whinny.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Y'all know, it takes a lot to make me blush. Right,
- 33:57Speaker 2: y'all know, if you having fun following my podcast and
- 34:02Speaker 2: you have known some of the books that I've read,
- 34:06Speaker 2: you know it takes a lot to make me blush.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Well, then you don't need to read the Zelda Diaries
- 34:12Speaker 4: or listen to it audio book. Because I was listening
- 34:15Speaker 4: to it on audio book, and I was blushing. I'm
- 34:17Speaker 4: like I wrote that.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Hold on, what's it called again?
- 34:22Speaker 4: The Zelda Diaries. It is available on audiobook and it
- 34:28Speaker 4: is read by Chauvene Spencer.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I'm just gonna make a little note on note of that.
- 34:37Speaker 4: And even if you just listen to the sample first chapter,
- 34:41Speaker 4: you already hooked. And Zelda has seven books.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Get Zelda Diaries.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Zelda has seven books.
- 34:51Speaker 2: You can't see it, but it's in the message. Hey,
- 34:56Speaker 2: I have no problem sitting at my desk with the
- 34:59Speaker 2: book and my mind. Boss, I know she'd been like
- 35:03Speaker 2: for tries. One time I was at work, type and
- 35:07Speaker 2: type and type and doing the work and they called
- 35:10Speaker 2: me to go do a notary. Forgot that I had
- 35:13Speaker 2: my headphones on. Came out and this was one of
- 35:18Speaker 2: those books that had the sounds to it. I'm still
- 35:22Speaker 2: walking around. My boss said, Trees, I'm gonna need you
- 35:25Speaker 2: to Yeah, you can't. I said, look, it's in the library,
- 35:29Speaker 2: and you shall not censor.
- 35:31Speaker 4: What I read. Well, that one I would suggest you
- 35:35Speaker 4: listen to at home, because, like I said, chapter one,
- 35:39Speaker 4: and he's right, he's a puppeteer. Oh oh yeah, he
- 35:44Speaker 4: runs a puppet museum.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Okay, So if you have had as much fun as
- 35:52Speaker 2: I have had tonight, we're gonna ask her to give
- 35:55Speaker 2: us the rundown. So we follow her on social media
- 35:59Speaker 2: and get those reminders about this book coming out all
- 36:03Speaker 2: the light growing up. I ain't no light.
- 36:05Speaker 4: I'm embarrassed too. I'm w wait wait, wait, he's ugly.
- 36:13Speaker 2: He ain't not wrong ugly man.
- 36:15Speaker 4: No no no, no, no, no, no no no no.
- 36:16Speaker 4: He popmark skin, and he's harry front and back, and
- 36:24Speaker 4: he's got buck teeth and he wears thick glasses. Oh
- 36:30Speaker 4: but Zelda loves that may.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Hmmm. And I think I threw some.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Things in there that you're not expecting. With Scott, I'm
- 36:42Speaker 4: telling you, over the course of the books, he does
- 36:46Speaker 4: take care of the skin. He does get contacts, and
- 36:50Speaker 4: he does shave some of it off his back. But
- 36:54Speaker 4: it's not about his looks. It's he's just that guys.
- 37:01Speaker 2: It's just just tell us how we could follow. You
- 37:04Speaker 2: could see you already start to stop. Just just give
- 37:07Speaker 2: us the rundown, please, ma'am.
- 37:09Speaker 4: If you're bored and you want to come over to
- 37:11Speaker 4: Instagram and have a good laugh, I am at Olivia Wrights.

- 38:01Speaker 4: on the archangels, all of that stuff. But I am
- 38:04Speaker 4: unfolding all of that cloak around the organization.
- 38:10Speaker 2: As we go along. Y'all are just go ahead, get
- 38:17Speaker 2: your copies, Get your copies. Baby ready to get it,
- 38:21Speaker 2: go ahead and make it, do it to do. And
- 38:23Speaker 2: she sees she down set up here, and she down
- 38:26Speaker 2: got me intrigued, and I'm trying to figure out like, okay,
- 38:30Speaker 2: so am I gonna get the turkey and read or
- 38:33Speaker 2: get the ham and read, or you're putting in the
- 38:36Speaker 2: corner with my Auntie Million Dollar Pie.
- 38:41Speaker 4: I'm really I'm really really proud of Helen. Okay, when
- 38:49Speaker 4: you consider her journey and where she's heading, and you
- 38:53Speaker 4: can feel her growing into this power, growing into this confidence.
- 38:59Speaker 4: She's growing into this confidence with Mustang, but she's also
- 39:04Speaker 4: seeing Mustange as this this man that you know, some
- 39:11Speaker 4: women all see a guy, I want that guy, and
- 39:14Speaker 4: they want this guy because he's going to give me
- 39:16Speaker 4: this lifestyle. He's going to give me this house. I'm
- 39:18Speaker 4: going to live in this neighborhood, and I'm going to
- 39:20Speaker 4: drive this car, and he's going to give him X
- 39:22Speaker 4: number of kids. But they really don't think about what
- 39:25Speaker 4: the guy wants.
- 39:27Speaker 2: And she is thinking about what.
- 39:31Speaker 4: He wants, oh you know, and he's so taken aback.
- 39:38Speaker 2: With it, he's like what.
- 39:41Speaker 4: What?
- 39:43Speaker 2: And so when a woman asks a man what they want,
- 39:47Speaker 2: men are so shak and really really black men are
- 39:52Speaker 2: when you ask them what they want. Half of the
- 39:55Speaker 2: times they can't even answer you because they've never had
- 39:57Speaker 2: a person asking them what they want.
- 40:00Speaker 4: Because he makes the comment, you know my woman, and
- 40:04Speaker 4: she's like, oh, you're a woman. Does my woman want
- 40:08Speaker 4: to be my wife? Are you asking? Eventually she's like okay,
- 40:14Speaker 4: and she says nothing else, and he doesn't know what
- 40:16Speaker 4: to do. He's just sitting there waiting on her to
- 40:18Speaker 4: say something else, and she doesn't and he don't know
- 40:22Speaker 4: what to make of it, and he just and she
- 40:27Speaker 4: don't say anything.
- 40:30Speaker 2: You guys, just listen here, come fall in love with me.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Thanksgiving night. Just go ahead and get the book, you guys,
- 40:40Speaker 2: stone blind, thanks none even more Thanksgiving night. Why are

- 40:55Speaker 2: get up early in the morning. Go ahead and have

- 41:17Speaker 4: I could put my feet up and I could have
- 41:19Speaker 4: my kindle read it to me. But yeah, it is
- 41:22Speaker 4: it is a It is a good read. There is
- 41:25Speaker 4: a lot of things happening in the book that you're
