- 0:06Hello, what's your least favorite scary movie?
- 0:11It's amazing how quickly things can go from bad to total
- 0:14shitstorm. Welcome to What's Your Least
- 0:18Favorite Scary Movie? The podcast where we talk about
- 0:20the good, the bad, the ugly and the absurd, and all of our
- 0:23favorite. And least favorite?
- 0:24Scary movies. Because we believe every horror
- 0:26movie rightfully has his fan base.
- 0:28Even if we don't always. Let's get it.
- 0:29My name is Travis. My name is Jesse.
- 0:31And welcome everybody to November's Patreon pick episode.
- 0:37Yeah, we put it up to the people today to decide between
- 0:40Zombieland and Wrong Turn 5, and they chose Zombieland.
- 0:45We were eating flesh regardless. Yeah, yeah, we tried to pick
- 0:49something in the theme of November, Thanksgiving eating.
- 0:52Flesh Family. Yeah, it was just as long as
- 0:55they eat people. That's really all we needed.
- 0:57And then, you know, you know how we are are about wrong turn.
- 1:00So don't you worry, even if you didn't vote for it, you're
- 1:03getting it. Eventually you're gonna get that
- 1:05Doug Bradley. I'm sorry to tell you, but yeah,
- 1:09no, we're talking about Zombieland instead for today.
- 1:13So you get Jesse Eisenberg, you get Woody Harrelson, you get
- 1:18Emma Stone and Abigail something.
- 1:21Breslin. Breslin, man, I'm not looking.
- 1:25I'm, I'm look. I'm not in that mode yet.
- 1:28I'm in the opening mode where I'm just chit chatting right
- 1:32here. Yeah, this is just bullshitting
- 1:35really. What I'm doing is I'm padding
- 1:37the time because I didn't do polls again this week.
- 1:41You're waiting to have to break the news to everybody.
- 1:43Yeah, I'm sorry guys. I lied last week.
- 1:45I I forgot that's really I'm not gonna didn't.
- 1:50You used to have a reminder for yourself.
- 1:52Yeah. But then on my iPhone, the
- 1:56reminders was taking up all of my space because somebody
- 2:01decided to attach pictures to all of my reminders.
- 2:05And I just warning to anybody out there with an Apple device,
- 2:09if you do a reminder and you put an attachment like a picture on
- 2:14that reminder, every day you get that reminder with that picture.
- 2:18It's downloading and putting a new picture on there each day.
- 2:23So you're just stacking all of these pictures on your hardware
- 2:27that you cannot get rid of unless you actually delete the
- 2:31Reminders app. I don't have the Apple official
- 2:35Reminders app on my phone anymore because I can't.
- 2:39It took away all of my storage. I had 60 gigabytes of storage of
- 2:43just pictures of Talia and Chris Shrager talking about pooping.
- 2:48That was the entirety. That was 60 gigabytes on my
- 2:52iPhone right there. That's how much I love you. 60
- 2:55gigabytes worth. Stop pooping.
- 2:57I appreciate it. I love the idea whenever it
- 3:00first happened. But then one day my phone was
- 3:02like, you've got too much storage going on.
- 3:04I'm like, what the fuck are you talking about?
- 3:06And yeah, that's where it is. So just heed my warning, people.
- 3:10Don't make the mistake that I did.
- 3:13I am now reminderless. Actually, I'm using the calendar
- 3:17now, but that's neither here nor there.
- 3:19We're we're we're gonna push forward.
- 3:21OK? We're gonna talk about
- 3:23Zombieland. So I've got the information
- 3:26right here. Here.
- 3:27You're ready to kick it off. Announcements.
- 3:30Oh yeah, we do do announcements also, yeah.
- 3:32Do do, I don't have a traditional show announcement,
- 3:36but I just want to say that if you are LGBTQ, if you are a
- 3:42person of color, if you are an immigrant, if you are
- 3:45neurodivergent, if you are disabled, if you have chronic
- 3:48illness, if you are somebody with reproductive concerns, if
- 3:54you are somebody that's fucking terrified of what's coming up,
- 3:59we get it and we love you and we're fucking terrified too.
- 4:04And we want this to continue to be a safe space where we can
- 4:11talk about things that make us happy and take us away from the
- 4:15horrors of the world for a little bit, while also
- 4:19acknowledging that those horrors are very real and looking for
- 4:23opportunities to fight against it.
- 4:25So just know that we're here and we love you.
- 4:31Yeah, this is a place everybody's welcome to.
- 4:34So yeah, we're going to try and keep this as like a positive
- 4:38place for people to escape to during bad times.
- 4:42You know, everybody's going to need a lot of that in the next
- 4:46little bit, so let's continue to just add on a bunch of bright
- 4:51spots in our world and just be good people throughout all of us
- 4:55because it sucks so. Enjoy the little things.
- 4:59Enjoy the little things. Yeah, roll number, whatever. 32.
- 5:03Roll #32 enjoy the little things.
- 5:06Yeah, that's very important right now, so.
- 5:09It's important to speak out and to fight for what you believe
- 5:12in, but it's also important to take those moments when you can.
- 5:16When? You can get them.
- 5:18All of this stuff consume your entire life.
- 5:20You're just not going to be a happy person.
- 5:22You're going to be miserable and it's understandable energy.
- 5:25To fight it. Yeah, it's understandable to be
- 5:28consumed in it, but you also can't let it entirely take you
- 5:32over. So yeah, let's, let's make this,
- 5:35let's have fun, let's have fun, let's enjoy our time, and yeah,
- 5:41we'll push forward. So OK, I am ready to talk about
- 5:47Zombieland. Let's let's have some fun.
- 5:50So OK, Zombieland premiered September 25th, 2009 at the
- 5:56Austin Fantastic Fest with its wide release like a week later
- 6:02in October 2nd, 2009. So yeah, we watched it on our
- 6:06DVD because. Fuck Netflix.
- 6:08It's available to stream on Netflix if you have the correct
- 6:12tier. If you do, if you are not a poor
- 6:15and do the ad tiers like most of us, we we can't watch it on
- 6:20Netflix, so we have it on our DVD.
- 6:22That's why physical media is important, people.
- 6:25Yeah, that's why you do it. And if you local.
- 6:28Half Price books. I'm pretty sure that's where we
- 6:30got this from. Yeah, probably.
- 6:32Yeah, it was definitely second hand HPB.
- 6:35Yeah, HPB. If you would rather not do
- 6:39either of those, though, you can rent it on Apple YouTube,
- 6:42Fandango at home or Amazon. OK.
- 6:45Written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, directed by Reuben
- 6:50Fleischer, music by David Sardi and special effects by Tony
- 6:55Gardner. Who?
- 6:57We have been talking about recently on the Truckee series.
- 7:01Yeah, What up, Mr. Truckee? Yeah, he had a team of a bunch
- 7:05of people, but some people that I have, there's.
- 7:07A lot of zombies. Yeah, well, I I have a couple
- 7:10people here to drop along with the two because they seem like
- 7:13they were of importance. Tammy Ashmore and Barney Berman,
- 7:18so they also assisted with BB and TATNA.
- 7:22Exactly. Exactly.
- 7:25All right, starring Jesse Eisenberg as Mark, I mean
- 7:31Columbus. Mark.
- 7:34Zuckerberg, Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee, Emma Stone as
- 7:42Wichita and Abigail Breslin as Little Rock.
- 7:46You don't have to go so hard on the S.
- 7:47Breslin. Breslin.
- 7:51Breslin. Breslin.
- 7:53Breslin, Bobby. Newport.
- 7:58OK, we're just messing around here, Jesse.
- 8:00Let's be serious, OK, Time for our favorite game on the show
- 8:06budget or but Ted. Just budget.
- 8:13Just budget. No.
- 8:15So this budget. Oh yeah, we have definitely
- 8:17budget. I had to stop myself because I
- 8:20was mortally offended that you left off Bill Murray.
- 8:25Look, man, look, there are a lot of people that I could have just
- 8:30thrown on. They're all Willy nilly.
- 8:32I didn't want to do that. I'm sorry, are you implying that
- 8:35Bill Murray is either or is either Willy or Milly?
- 8:42He has the ability to be either, but in this movie he's neither.
- 8:48He's neither Willy nor Nilly. OK, so then what stopped you
- 8:51from throwing him on there? He's a cameo.
- 8:53He's an important cameo. Not really.
- 8:56It's a character shift for Columbus.
- 8:58It's. An extended gag.
- 9:01It's really not a character shift.
- 9:03It doesn't really have any impact at all.
- 9:08We'll go into some of that a little bit.
- 9:09Our fun facts, too. OK.
- 9:12But you are correct. The budget for this movie is $23
- 9:15million. Opening box office, 24,000,000.
- 9:19OK Worldwide gross, 102. Fuck, yeah.
- 9:22Yeah, I was part of that. I saw this in theaters.
- 9:24It's a good time. I don't feel like I don't
- 9:27remember when I first saw this actually.
- 9:30Was it with me? I truly I really don't know.
- 9:34OK, well the IMDb 7.5. Alright, that's a fucking good
- 9:40IMDb score. That's a very good IMDb score.
- 9:42OK so IMDb Raiders are a bunch of chodes at times.
- 9:45They they can be, yeah. You might be offended at some of
- 9:49these reviews coming up. Maybe not, though.
- 9:52I don't know. So I've got a theme for some
- 9:55movies that also released in 2009 and they are who don't know
- 10:02who you are or who I am. OK cuz they all did like their
- 10:06fake. Names, yes.
- 10:07OK, yeah, got. It I see where you came up with
- 10:09that. Thank you for getting it
- 10:10immediately cuz I could I felt like I might need to explain
- 10:13that one but thank you for also explaining it to people that
- 10:15didn't get it. OK, so the first movie is
- 10:19Orphan. Did you hear that there's going
- 10:22to be 1/3? One I did, yeah.
- 10:24I'm super excited because I like the second one a lot too.
- 10:27I'm in love with the second one. I thought.
- 10:29I can't wait to watch it again. Honestly, I can't believe we've
- 10:31only watched it once since we've seen it.
- 10:33Yeah, I kind of seen this, seen that news made me actually just
- 10:36want to watch the first one again.
- 10:38So we should do both maybe sometime soon.
- 10:42But that released July 24th, 2009 with a $20 million budget,
- 10:47$78 million gross and a 7 out of 10 on IMDb.
- 10:51So that also did really well. Yeah.
- 10:53OK, well earned. Next up, sorority row.
- 11:00I love that movie, too. This is the Josh Stolberg.
- 11:02Yeah, obviously. Yeah, don't know who's getting
- 11:04the revenge this time around. Yeah, somebody.
- 11:07Don't know if he's English or American.
- 11:10Either perhaps even our main villain doesn't know who he is,
- 11:15if he's American or British. Yeah, that's been a thing that
- 11:18we've been encountering a lot lately with movies.
- 11:20We saw it on the Bye Bye Man earlier this.
- 11:22Week As much as I love trying to pick out wigs and movies, I also
- 11:27love trying to pick when somebody is doing an American
- 11:30accent, which for the record I am not judging them for.
- 11:34You all have heard my British accent on here.
- 11:36I have no space to judge, but it is just fun to pick out.
- 11:41It is, yeah. So Sorority Row came out
- 11:459/11/2009 $12 million Budget $27 million Gross 5.1 IMDb.
- 11:55Rude. OK, I figured you might be
- 11:57offended by that 1 I think. My my feelings are hurt actually
- 12:00at that. It's a it's a fun slasher movie,
- 12:04but I can understand people being like it's mid.
- 12:08I you feel like Stolberg is a very divisive writer in the
- 12:13horror community. Sometimes he knocks him out of
- 12:16the park like Piranha 3D if he's doing remakes, but this one
- 12:20right here, I don't think he captured it quite as well.
- 12:23I love it though. Yeah, I loved it too.
- 12:25Yeah. All right.
- 12:26Final movie, Halloween 2. She don't you, you don't even
- 12:32know who she is. She didn't know she was Lori
- 12:34Strode. No, tell no.
- 12:37She's she thought she was Laurie Shredd.
- 12:40She didn't know she was baby. Also I think.
- 12:43Angel, Angel. Angel yeah.
- 12:45Also in this movie, I think Brad Duriff doesn't know if he's
- 12:49talking to Andy or Annie. In this movie, He's like he's
- 12:53getting his wires. Crossed with trucky and there
- 12:55were several times last time. We watched this and he.
- 12:57Would go Annie. Yeah.
- 12:59Wait, what? Yeah, Come on, Brad.
- 13:00Are you murdering what's happening?
- 13:04So there's a lot of layers to it on this one, but that really he.
- 13:06Was a mad, said dad. So.
- 13:07He was a mad said dad. Yeah, he didn't know that part.
- 13:10At least he knew that much about him.
- 13:11Yeah. Which I guess maybe Chucky can
- 13:15be too. Yeah, because he's a dad now.
- 13:17Yeah. Yeah.
- 13:19PP All right, so that released August 28th, 2915 million
- 13:24budgets worldwide gross 39 million.
- 13:27All right, 39 for a Halloween movie.
- 13:30For that one, again, it's big. I'm prepared.
- 13:36I'm prepared to have my feelings hurt by this IMDb score, so I'm
- 13:41just happy that it grossed that much.
- 13:43I walked to the fucking theater to watch that movie.
- 13:46You know that I didn't drive there.
- 13:48I fucking walked from my friend's house.
- 13:50You. Almost did your Donald Pleasant,
- 13:52he said. You know that.
- 13:55Yeah, and you're right. I mean the IMDb is a 4.8.
- 14:02It could be worse. I feel like it's gone up since
- 14:04we covered these. Maybe, I don't know so.
- 14:06I feel like I remember being more offended.
- 14:08The funny thing is, like I until I saw the IMDb score, I was
- 14:12like, Oh yeah, people hate this one because Halloween.
- 14:15And it's just kind of took all the hatred away from two.
- 14:19Yeah. It's all just been like diverted
- 14:21over there, that energy. I was like, you know what?
- 14:23In hindsight. I mean, I'm kind of that's where
- 14:26I landed with it, so I defend. Both of these movies.
- 14:31I know you do. Yeah.
- 14:33OK, so let's do some tag lines. So the one on the poster not up
- 14:39or shut up. OK.
- 14:41OK. Yeah, All right.
- 14:44And for the rest, I'm pulling out the phone because I couldn't
- 14:47write down. The phone.
- 14:49All right, our land is their land.
- 14:54OK. Welcome to Zombieland.
- 14:59OK, a ton of fun. That's.
- 15:01Just a review. You might be a pulseless zombie
- 15:05if you don't get a kick out of this film.
- 15:07Is that Jeff Foxworthy right there?
- 15:10You might be a pulseless zombie. Was that was that his stand up
- 15:13when like Zombieland happens? The you might be redneck thing.
- 15:17So the Blue Collar Comedy Tour got really popular in the arts
- 15:21and I know for sure I watched that several times with my
- 15:24family. I remember seeing it too.
- 15:26Yeah. So yeah.
- 15:29Where the cable guy was the biggest shit back in the day.
- 15:32I remember that much. OK, this one I can't.
- 15:35Tell if you mean that like affectionately or derogatorily.
- 15:39I didn't care one way or another, but everybody I knew
- 15:43cared. OK.
- 15:45Every way or another. Alright, this one.
- 15:48This is kind of funny. Yeah.
- 15:49Super Bad meets Shaun of the Dead.
- 15:53Are you saying that? You saying that because you
- 15:55think he looks like Michael Cera?
- 15:57Is that really it? Where's the Super bad come from?
- 16:01Just like this guy kind of looks like Michael Cera.
- 16:03And there's zombies. So funny movie and Michael Cera
- 16:05movie. Go.
- 16:07Desperate for sex? Not to the same extent.
- 16:13Chaotic best friend takes your own wacky adventures.
- 16:18Emma Stone. Emma Stone.
- 16:21I forgot Emma Stone was in that movie.
- 16:24OK, Emma Stone's a good connection.
- 16:29This one is in language that I'm not familiar with, I think.
- 16:33So don't read it. Let's not go there right now.
- 16:36OK, I let's not. I really wanted to try it.
- 16:39Looks like it's German, so OK, you know, never mind.
- 16:43We won't do it. OK.
- 16:44I'm Comedy D Ushkent. OK, Did I do OK?
- 16:51Yeah, I think you did OK. I don't speak German so I can't
- 16:53tell you like for sure. But it wasn't disrespectful.
- 16:56No, I don't think so. It didn't feel disrespectful.
- 16:58It didn't come from a disrespectful place.
- 17:00OK, this place is so dead. That's good.
- 17:06I like that one. That's the only one we would
- 17:07come up. With yeah, that's the only one
- 17:09that got like a legitimate chuckle out of me so far.
- 17:11All right, survival role in #21 avoid strip clubs.
- 17:17Survival role in #28 get a kick ass partner.
- 17:22Oh, I wonder if there were like different iterations of the
- 17:24posters with like. I wonder if they put them in
- 17:29these places like like put that poster in a strip club.
- 17:32Because I'm thinking like, I'm, I know you're sick of hearing me
- 17:37talk about it, but I know Wicked has a shit ton of posters right
- 17:39now like highlighting all of the main characters.
- 17:42So they've got like. That would make sense.
- 17:44Like 12 different posters or something right now.
- 17:46Well. I got two more, two more from
- 17:48the survival ones. Survival rule #4 don't be a hero
- 17:51and survival rule #1 cardio, and then finally a comedy that
- 17:56kills. That one's kind of I get it.
- 18:01I get it but. They're not really the best tag
- 18:05lines. I like this place is so dead.
- 18:07Yeah, that one was a good one. That was a good one.
- 18:10OK, so let's do some fun facts. Facts.
- 18:14So this was originally written back in 2005 as ATV pilots.
- 18:21Oh. Yeah.
- 18:22So it was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick back then.
- 18:26And then Fleischer decided to assist in developing it into a
- 18:30screenplay. And when he was doing that, he
- 18:34was the one that came up with the idea for making it a road
- 18:39story and also making an end destination, which they made it
- 18:44the amusement park. OK.
- 18:47I I have a lot of thoughts about that that I'll share when we get
- 18:50into our breakdown. OK.
- 18:52He always envisioned the director, Ruben, that is always
- 18:57envisioned Harrelson as the lead.
- 18:59He wanted the character to be bigger and better than a typical
- 19:02zombie movie. So he arranged a meeting with
- 19:06them in New York. They met at a vegan restaurant.
- 19:10So he sat there for a while, super nervous, and then a little
- 19:15bit later than normal, Woody Harrelson came in on
- 19:18rollerblades with torn up jeans he had.
- 19:22Wasn't this part of one of our prompts in our game last night?
- 19:25A vegan on rocket powered rollerblade.
- 19:27It kind of was. Yeah.
- 19:29Well, maybe this is what happened to him.
- 19:31It's like I got to get to that meeting.
- 19:32So what happened was he was rollerblading from his hotel to
- 19:37the meeting in Central Park, tripped and fell, then proceeded
- 19:41to have to ask for directions on how to get there because he got
- 19:44lost. Am I Woody Harrelson?
- 19:46You might be Woody Harrelson, yeah.
- 19:49If you told me I did this, I'd be like, I don't remember it,
- 19:51but that sounds like me. Yeah, so after all things
- 19:55settled, they sat down, they had their dinner.
- 19:58He liked Ruben, he liked the script also, but he presented 4
- 20:02conditions that needed to be met before he signed on to do it.
- 20:05First two are cast and crew related which they didn't reveal
- 20:09what it was but he said that they were very fair so he didn't
- 20:12have any problems with that. I hope that means it was like.
- 20:15Probably people he works with like.
- 20:16People he works with, But I also wonder if it's like provisions
- 20:18and whatnot to be provided. Well, that kind of goes into
- 20:22third. The third condition is it has to
- 20:26be environmentally conscious. So and then the 4th one, Ruben
- 20:32had to agree to eat dairy free for an entire week.
- 20:38Wow, yeah, I did not know that Woody Harrelson was vegan.
- 20:42Vegan. Yeah, big time vegan.
- 20:43Apparently so. And what happened was Reuben
- 20:47actually agreed to do that, but he continued for a vegetarian
- 20:53diet for the following eleven months afterwards.
- 20:56Oh, wow. Yeah.
- 20:57So I think from when they started that all the way to,
- 21:00like, finishing everything, which I thought was kind of cool
- 21:03that they did that. So the original characters that
- 21:07they had were called Flagstaff, Albuquerque, Wichita and
- 21:12Stillwater. Don't they use Flagstaff and
- 21:15Albuquerque in the sequel? Flagstaff ends up being Thomas
- 21:18Middleditch and Albuquerque ends up becoming Luke Wilson.
- 21:23Perfect. I tried to check the other names
- 21:25for the sequels to see if any of them were Stillwater, but no,
- 21:28none of them were. But yeah, I thought that that
- 21:30was really cool too, that they use the alternate names for
- 21:33that. Also, I forgot to mention back
- 21:38when we were talking about the TV show, but they didn't end up
- 21:40actually doing a pilot for that. It's on Amazon.
- 21:44Yeah. And it did not get picked up.
- 21:49And it is because apparently the fans had such a bad reaction to
- 21:57the idea of it becoming ATV show.
- 21:59Everybody hated it and it essentially got it like
- 22:03cancelled before it even got started.
- 22:04And Reuben Fleischer actually, like, blames the fans.
- 22:08He's like, I don't understand why the fans hated it, but like,
- 22:11you guys have literally hated it out of existence.
- 22:13That was his quote right there. So yeah, it didn't happen.
- 22:19There was an original, like originally a different person
- 22:23that was going to be the cameo other than Bill Murray.
- 22:26When it was originally written, it was going to be Patrick
- 22:28Swayze. He was going to be a zombified
- 22:31person of himself and he was also just going to be dancing.
- 22:35And there's also going to be references to like his ghost
- 22:39scene with the the Quay, whatever and.
- 22:44Everybody knows what scene you're referring.
- 22:46To good. OK, good.
- 22:48He wasn't able to do it though because he was ill at the time
- 22:52and he actually ended up passing away that September of 2009.
- 22:55So Oh my. God, I can't believe it's been
- 22:57that long since Patrick Swayze died.
- 22:58Yeah. Souls of the damned living in my
- 23:04water bottle. It's fine.
- 23:06Yeah. So you're good.
- 23:12I'll take it down the car. Opening it so I could get water.
- 23:16I don't know why that like long drawn.
- 23:18I thought that that was like the end of it.
- 23:20It's never the end. That's why Tanya hates this
- 23:22water bottle. I'm gonna keep all that in just
- 23:25that way. You all know what Travis deals
- 23:27with on a weekly. Basis I'm sorry you guys were
- 23:30punished. OK so the original cameo that
- 23:35was gonna OK other people considered for the cameo after
- 23:39Patrick Swayze couldn't do it still alone.
- 23:42OK, Joe Pesci. Oh man, Joe Pesci would have
- 23:47been fun. Mark Hamill the Rock.
- 23:53I listen. The rock is.
- 23:55Fun. This is back before he got too
- 23:57too serious about his persona. I think this was fun Rocks.
- 24:00So 2009. This is Tooth Fairy rock.
- 24:03Yeah. OK.
- 24:04Yeah, OK. Kevin Bacon.
- 24:07Could have also been very fun. Jean Quad Van Damme.
- 24:11I heard he's not super fun on set.
- 24:13That's what I've heard too. Yeah, I've also heard Bill
- 24:15Murray's a Dick. So you.
- 24:16Know I can believe that actually, but he's really funny
- 24:19so that's I don't know anything. I hate how he's the worst person
- 24:24but he's fucking funny. Like that's all that makes up
- 24:26for almost everything, always. Make up for almost everything.
- 24:30It's that seemingly just separating the art from the art
- 24:33it's. Kind of moment.
- 24:34That's fair. And Van Damme stuff I don't care
- 24:37about so. He makes some cool action
- 24:38movies. He was in Predator.
- 24:43Yeah, he was. Yeah, he was.
- 24:45Yeah. I think about for a second, but
- 24:48yeah. OK.
- 24:50And finally, the one that I wanted personally, Matthew
- 24:54McConaughey. Oh my God, I think he would have
- 24:57been amazing as a cameo in this. I My top three from that list
- 25:03would be Joe Pesci, Mark Hamill and Matthew McConaughey, in no
- 25:06particular order, but obviously Hamill would be the top pick for
- 25:10me. Hamill would be pretty sweet,
- 25:11too. Yeah, I like his.
- 25:13They could have just made him there too, you know, Whatever.
- 25:16Yeah. OK, so the original actor
- 25:20though, whoever they picked from that lot, they had to drop out a
- 25:24week before filming. So Woody Harrelson made a couple
- 25:29of calls himself and then he managed to get Bill Murray
- 25:33involved in do to do the cameo. And apparently most of those
- 25:37scenes that they did were improvised, which I kind of get.
- 25:42And it makes sense how it plays out on screen because that's
- 25:46actually Woody Harrelson probably fanboying over Bill and
- 25:49Murray instead of him. Because like, I was thinking
- 25:51about that and I'm like, is he really a big fan of Bill Murray
- 25:54like this or is he just playing a character that is?
- 25:57But I think now I know that that was actually just him nerding
- 26:00out to Bill Murray on film. I could truly believe Emma Stone
- 26:05just being really excited to, like, act out some Ghostbusters.
- 26:09Yeah, she's probably done that a million times.
- 26:12So, like, I could see all of that being and Abigail Breslin.
- 26:16I feel like Abigail Breslin probably knew who he was, but
- 26:19she was actually just a little taught at the time, too.
- 26:21Yeah. She'd grown up in, you know, the
- 26:23show business. She and Jesse Eisenberg didn't
- 26:26get a lot of screen time with him.
- 26:28Yeah. So, yeah, that's.
- 26:31That's not fun Facts. Cool.
- 26:33Yeah. So now let's go into our good,
- 26:36bad, ugly and absurd Jesse and kick it off.
- 26:38What did you like? Yeah, and I just think the whole
- 26:41thing is it's stylized in a way that I really like, you know,
- 26:45having like random flashes to the rules.
- 26:48I think the narration is done in just the right kind of way.
- 26:52It it's not intrusive, but it does just enough to like fill in
- 26:56the gaps for us in like, 'cause this is a more light hearted
- 27:02kind of movie. Like instead of us having to
- 27:04like pick up context clues on every little thing, you know,
- 27:08we're just getting the gaps filled in here and there.
- 27:10And I think that's fine. The humor is really there on
- 27:15point for me. Let's see.
- 27:19Love the cast. This is a stellar cast.
- 27:23I think they all have really fantastic chemistry.
- 27:27And I love the final set piece being at the amusement park
- 27:31'cause I think it's just such it.
- 27:36And you know, I'm, I'm such an amusement park fan, right?
- 27:40So having this place that represents like joy and
- 27:43happiness and thrills, but like you're defeating your fears in
- 27:47like a safe space. But like, it actually becomes
- 27:51the center of like violence and chaos.
- 27:54And it the set pieces are used in such a fun way, like when
- 27:58they're on the one little like roller coaster.
- 28:00And the zombies. Are chasing after them or the
- 28:02whole thing with the drop tower. Every time they drop down, it's
- 28:05like a different storm they have to fight.
- 28:07It's funny. I think it's just I I love that
- 28:10as a final ending piece. I when I was looking for bad
- 28:14reviews because I knew that we both liked it.
- 28:17Now seemed to be the number one complaint from people was the
- 28:20amusement park at the end. The thing that drove people the
- 28:25most crazy was the fact that they were operating the riots
- 28:28without anybody there. Oh no, I'm not saying
- 28:32logistically that it makes any fucking sense.
- 28:34But this is not a movie where you have to think about the
- 28:37logistics. Because I can tear that stuff
- 28:39apart and I will talk about that in a minute.
- 28:41Yeah, I, I agree with you. But we let, we're able to let
- 28:44that go because we allow that. Yeah, a lot of people weren't.
- 28:48They like, saw that and they're like, wait a minute.
- 28:52I'm starting to think this movie might not be historically
- 28:54accurate. I'm starting to think they
- 28:55didn't actually kill Bill Murray.
- 28:59So yeah, I just, I have a lot of fun with this movie.
- 29:03OK, cool. My goods, a lot of them are kind
- 29:06of similar to yours there. The first one I had was I love
- 29:10the rule system. It's such a smart thing to
- 29:13implement in this movie because it's constantly giving you like
- 29:17a little gags. Like I love how they like
- 29:19display the rules anytime just like like a little thing happens
- 29:22and like it's hardly acknowledged.
- 29:23It's like kind of in the background sometimes.
- 29:24Yes. And that's, that's what I mean
- 29:26with like the stylization, it's like one of those just sort of
- 29:29like look for it and it it'll pop up there.
- 29:31And it's always done in different ways too.
- 29:32Yeah, and they're also smart with how they use them as like a
- 29:36joke every now and then to it. It's really smartly written like
- 29:41that. I also think the physical comedy
- 29:43is really good in this, too. Jesse Eisenberg gets, like, real
- 29:48points for me in this movie. He is so fucking funny.
- 29:51He knows the awkward, like, person so well.
- 29:57Yeah. But like, I've seen him do other
- 29:59things too. Like, he's like, actually a
- 30:00really good actor. But like, I would never, if I
- 30:05had not seen this movie, if I had seen him say that man can be
- 30:08a funny. He can be a funny I, but he
- 30:14proved me wrong here. And then Woody Harrelson did the
- 30:16same thing, too. I don't really see him as, like,
- 30:18much of A comedic actor too much.
- 30:20And I know he's got, like, a lot of legendary comedy movies, like
- 30:22Kingpins and like other things like that.
- 30:24But yeah, I don't know. I'm more familiar with him and,
- 30:28like, the serious stuff. And I'm actually kind of
- 30:31surprised at how well this cast has chemistry because, again, on
- 30:35paper, I wouldn't think these people would gel as well as they
- 30:38do. But everybody there, like,
- 30:39actually clicks pretty well. Yeah.
- 30:42And one thing that I really like about this movie is that they
- 30:45didn't kill any of them off for, like, an emotional beat in the
- 30:50movie, which I feel like a lot of movies like this would do.
- 30:52Yeah. They would kill off Tallahassee
- 30:55or Wichita. Yeah.
- 30:58Something like that. You know what I mean?
- 31:00And just to try and like, you know, put some emotional levity
- 31:04into the movie. But no, this movie was like,
- 31:07let's just have fun. Yes.
- 31:09And that's exactly what it is. OK, So what are the bads?
- 31:15So, yeah, it it really is like when you start doing a
- 31:18logistical breakdown, you know, if they're trying to present
- 31:21this as being this universe, you know what I mean?
- 31:26It it doesn't really hold up, you know it doesn't yes, it and
- 31:32I think the main thing, as much as I love that final set piece
- 31:34being at the amusement park, it doesn't really make sense that
- 31:37these two people who have been very crafty and very keen on
- 31:42their own survival and have taken so many precautionary
- 31:45steps would just flip on the lights and music for an entire
- 31:51amusement park in the middle of the night like.
- 31:54Yeah, that. And I get it 'cause I think for
- 31:57her, like for Wichita, she was really trying to give her little
- 32:00sister that moment of just getting to be a kid again.
- 32:03And I think maybe it was a little bit overshadowed by that.
- 32:06So I'll give it a sense of human error.
- 32:07But also, they've been living in this world for two years now.
- 32:11Has it been two years? I thought it was six months.
- 32:13Is it 6 months? For some reason I thought it was
- 32:15two years. OK, so.
- 32:17Actually, hold on, I got it written down here at the
- 32:20beginning, two months since outbreak.
- 32:23I wrote two years ago. It's two months.
- 32:27Well, that explains how we hadn't made it to Columbus yet.
- 32:30It shouldn't have taken that long.
- 32:31OK, yeah. So that helps a little bit then.
- 32:35Yeah, I think the thing with the amusement park is that it was
- 32:38also built up as like, this magical land.
- 32:43Yeah. What was the movie we watched
- 32:45recently where they go to, they all have to give away their
- 32:50weapons and they go into, like, this four of, like, hippies.
- 32:56That's the sequel. Yeah.
- 32:58My God that's so weird. If you're joking or not, well.
- 33:04The same thing kind of happens in that movie where, hey, this
- 33:08is a magical place where zombies can't get you.
- 33:10You know what? I.
- 33:11Mean actually had a wall around the whole commune.
- 33:14And it still got breached. Yeah, but I'm just saying it's a
- 33:17little bit different than like a music park.
- 33:19It's a little bit different, but it's still the same thing.
- 33:21It's this like magical thing that everybody's been like word
- 33:23is spread across the land. Like this is like the safe
- 33:26haven. And in reality it's not OK.
- 33:31OK, yeah, that's so funny. I was like what the fuck was?
- 33:35So my other stuff kind of goes out the window realizing that I
- 33:38wrote down years instead of months.
- 33:40Let me hear them just for the sake of it.
- 33:43Like I one of the things that I always do whenever I'm watching
- 33:47any like zombie media is I think of The Stand when things started
- 33:51going like haywire and I read Stephen King's version.
- 33:58I'm not familiar with either. So I mean, they're both by
- 34:01Stephen King, but there's one that's like significantly cut
- 34:03down, I think like theatrical cut versus director's cut,
- 34:07right. OK.
- 34:08So this would be like the director's cut kind of, and it's
- 34:13much longer. But there's like this, like
- 34:15several series of chapters of like the different ways that
- 34:18like society broke down, like when gas started to go bad and
- 34:21then they couldn't figure out a way to pump up the gas from the
- 34:23ground because that requires electricity.
- 34:25And of course, electricity is out.
- 34:27And people using weapons that are old and haven't been fired
- 34:30and maintained recently. And so those are backfiring out.
- 34:33Like, there's so many like little things that you don't
- 34:35really think about when you're watching and consuming a lot of
- 34:37zombie media. And so that is like always there
- 34:41in the back of my mind when I watch stuff like this.
- 34:43So I'm watching them get into these cars and I'm like, are
- 34:45those cars even still driveable after sitting there for two
- 34:48years? So now that I know it's only
- 34:50been two months. Yeah, it does make a difference.
- 34:53But also at the same time, I just kind of think that these
- 34:55movies kind of also go by video game rules where, like, that's
- 34:59fair. If I'm playing a video game and
- 35:00I go to a car, I'm driving that car.
- 35:03Yeah, because it's just fun. That's kind of the rules.
- 35:06I think they went with this movie.
- 35:07It's definitely the rules Tallahassee went with.
- 35:09That's true. Yeah.
- 35:11My bad for this is I don't really have a whole lot, but I
- 35:15think I could have used a little bit more zombie action going on
- 35:21here for Zombieland. I know that that's this movie
- 35:25isn't. I think this movie is more
- 35:27primarily a comedy than it is a horror movie, but I would have
- 35:32liked for it to be like, make the scales even a little bit.
- 35:37Give me, give me a little bit more horror.
- 35:39Because you got a fucking Tony Gardner.
- 35:42Yeah, They're doing the special effects.
- 35:43You got like a guy that's like top class in the business.
- 35:47And there were several times when we get close up on a
- 35:49zombie's face and I would be like, man, they did a really
- 35:51good job on this makeup. They did a great job, and I
- 35:54would have liked to have seen more interactions with them.
- 35:57I mean, they have some, but they're also just kind of played
- 35:59up as, like, comedic bits, too. Yeah.
- 36:02I think it would have been cool to lean into some, like, scary
- 36:04moments here or there, too, just to kind of like, shake it up a
- 36:06little bit, you know what I mean?
- 36:08Yeah. So yeah, that's really the only
- 36:10bad thing I have to say, though. OK, Ugly.
- 36:16So I feel kind of weird about that scene when they're
- 36:21somewhere in the like Southwest and they're in a store that is
- 36:28like primarily like. Native American, Yes.
- 36:31Yeah, it feels weird that that's the store that they chose to do
- 36:36like their little rage room on I.
- 36:38Don't think it was anything targeted I think.
- 36:40It was targeted or intentional, and I get it, 'cause they're
- 36:42like in the Southwest. So I was just like, there's like
- 36:44one point where Abigail Breslin is like wearing like a full
- 36:46headdress, like running through the store.
- 36:49Yeah. And I don't think there was
- 36:52anything intentional about it, but I also, I'm just kind of
- 36:56like, it's kind of a weird choice to make.
- 36:59I guess, yeah. I don't know.
- 37:01It didn't bother me any. At what point does it become
- 37:04like being interested in another culture?
- 37:08You know what I mean? Like, I don't think we should be
- 37:10like, I hate it when people like gate keep cultures, you know,
- 37:13like I think it's OK for people to be interested in other
- 37:17people's cultures and, and. I completely get that, and I
- 37:21understand what you're saying, but I don't think what they were
- 37:23doing was being interested in a different culture.
- 37:26I think like wearing The thing is, but like destroying the
- 37:29store, Yeah. I mean, I don't think that
- 37:31they're like, I hate these people and it's like destroying
- 37:35everything. It's happening.
- 37:36Either I think, you know, like I said, I think it's because,
- 37:39like, oh, we're in the Southwest and this is, you know, a common
- 37:43type of store you might see because Indigenous folks were
- 37:47pushed off their land, and this is how they're forced to be able
- 37:50to, you know, eek by in poverty. Yeah.
- 37:54But, you know, I don't know. I was just, like, watching that
- 37:57scene. I was just like, it's a little
- 37:58bit off to me. OK, so my ugly is the way that
- 38:10Wichita and Little Rock are constantly taking advantage of
- 38:14people and conning them. OK, yeah, honest people.
- 38:19Nobody that they con were actually bad people.
- 38:22One of them was a guy that was recently divorced and one of
- 38:26the, you know, was a little bit sweet on Emma Stone.
- 38:32And then the other two multiple times.
- 38:35Little Little Rock and fuck I keep Wichita to.
- 38:40Be fair, saying that the gas station guy was a little bit
- 38:43sweet on her is I think over romanticizing it.
- 38:47He liked her ass as she was looking around for lost jewelry.
- 38:51That's part of being sweet on somebody, being physically
- 38:53attractive. Just like you make it sound like
- 38:57they've flirted and gotten to know each other like no saw her
- 39:01at the pump. She flirted with him, but she
- 39:03was leading him on. You know what I mean?
- 39:05Like, I mean, in his mind, that is what happened.
- 39:09Yeah. So and then also Columbus and
- 39:13Tallahassee, they, like, stopped to help them multiple times, and
- 39:16they just kept fucking them over.
- 39:17Yeah. Like, no trust.
- 39:19You got to have some trust and people.
- 39:22You have some faith in humanity. That's really the only ugly I
- 39:26could see from this. OK, absurd.
- 39:31Absurd. I think truthfully, there are
- 39:42plenty of absurd moments with this.
- 39:44You know, I think the little vignettes, they have to like
- 39:48potential, like kills of the week.
- 39:51Like, I like how we just accept that they know that those happen
- 39:55and what to do. And the fact that it goes to a
- 39:56nun who had a piano rig to drop onto a zombie.
- 40:00I like that we got the cartoon logic in the movie, but I just
- 40:04think it was kind of funny, a little bit over the top, but in
- 40:06a good way, a way that works. As we've said before, we love
- 40:09absurd for sure. Yeah.
- 40:11But yeah. Mine is when they are at Bill
- 40:16Murray's mansion and they are smoking weed with Bill Murray
- 40:21smoking the hookah. Hookah.
- 40:23That's going to fuck your hookah up.
- 40:25Yeah. That's not good for your hookah.
- 40:27Don't do that. I wonder if that's like a
- 40:29dedicated weed hookah. I don't even know if those
- 40:31exists. I'm just saying like, I wonder
- 40:34if that's like what he specifically uses that one for.
- 40:36I mean, he could, but I've never seen one before in my life.
- 40:40I've never heard of one so, but I'm not saying, though I'm not
- 40:45saying it's impossible. It's possible.
- 40:47The other thing is I love how Columbus, when he's trying to
- 40:55figure out what Wichita's type is with Little Rock, he's like
- 41:02oh is he like, oh she goes for the bad guys?
- 41:04Like oh OK, I just love this stuff right there.
- 41:10Honestly, his character is just absurd.
- 41:12He's like this just this fucking nerdy, uptight guy and the fact
- 41:16that he is able to thrive in this world just because he has a
- 41:19list of rules. I.
- 41:20Love that because it's so, like, against expectations.
- 41:25And I think that's part of what makes this movie work, as part
- 41:28of what makes the dynamic between him and Woody Harrelson
- 41:30work. Yeah.
- 41:32And it gives us so much of the structure for this movie, like
- 41:35the following the rules and then seeing how different people
- 41:37interpret those rules. I also love how everybody is
- 41:39like, anti seat belt except for him.
- 41:42And he proves time and time again why it's important.
- 41:44That's true. Yeah.
- 41:45It comes up many times in this movie.
- 41:48OK, so let's rate it. 9. I think I'm right there with
- 41:52you. I think it's a nine.
- 41:54OK, that's really easy math and I appreciate that 999.
- 41:58OK all. Right, let's get into it.
- 42:04So we start off learning that there is no more America.
- 42:08This is the United States of zombie land.
- 42:11And I like that the first zombie we get is, in fact, the
- 42:14president. Oh, is that what it?
- 42:16Is yeah, that was the implication because that was his
- 42:18vehicle flipped over and there was like a little flag pin on
- 42:22his. I just saw somebody at the White
- 42:24House. I didn't realize, OK.
- 42:26Now he's attacking his Secret Service.
- 42:28Interesting. Wow, I never gathered that in my
- 42:31entire time of watching this movie.
- 42:33And I will point out he is in fact somebody at the White
- 42:36House. Yeah, but I'm meaning rando, OK?
- 42:43OK, so this is where he talks about how he has survived
- 42:46because he's got a set of rules. He lives by rule #1 cardio, he
- 42:53said. You know, the people that are a
- 42:55little bit more physically fit were the ones that were
- 42:58surviving longer in Zombieland. Yeah.
- 43:02So you know, it's important to stay in shape.
- 43:05Rule #2 double tap, double tap, which that's important.
- 43:08I preach that in all kinds of movies.
- 43:11I think mostly because of this movie is where they brought it
- 43:13up. But yeah, that's definitely
- 43:15where like the phrase has become so like popularized.
- 43:20But I I know we we have shouted double tap and headshot multiple
- 43:25times on this. Podcast if you think he got him,
- 43:28go in for the final kill. That's what Dewey should have
- 43:30done in Screen 5. Yeah, it it he, like he said,
- 43:33he's like, don't get precious about your ammunition at the
- 43:35moment where you're not sure if a zombie's alive or dead.
- 43:38Exactly. Rule #3 Beware of bathrooms.
- 43:42We should always be aware of bathrooms anyway.
- 43:44I've said multiple times bathrooms are one of the
- 43:46scariest rooms in the house. Travis scared the shit out of me
- 43:49in the bathroom earlier. I did.
- 43:51Not literally, but yeah, So Scout likes to get into the
- 43:55bathtub after we shower because she's a fucking weirdo.
- 44:00And sometimes she's just so desperate to get in there.
- 44:03She'll like, like, bat at the bathroom door.
- 44:06And she gets really desperate at times.
- 44:07And today I was like, dude, you need to chill out.
- 44:11And Travis was out getting food, and it's getting really
- 44:13aggressive. And so I opened the door and
- 44:15there's a man there who's Travis I got also.
- 44:19Scout I got, she got worked up because you were in there and
- 44:23she wanted in there. So she was meowing while I was,
- 44:24I'm like, oh, this is my time. So I just like right, I got down
- 44:28on Scout's level down at the bottom of the door.
- 44:30I just started knocking on the door I.
- 44:33Really thought it was scout it. Was so funny, like I just
- 44:37hearing you actually talk to this guy like scow, scow this
- 44:41is. My conversation with her every
- 44:44morning before work. It's so funny.
- 44:47So yeah, beware of bathrooms. Yeah, because you can get
- 44:50attacked under the saw. It's when you're most
- 44:51vulnerable. It's a vulnerability aspect.
- 44:53I don't know if you noticed, but the guy that dies here is the
- 44:57guy from the gas station that Wichita was sitting on.
- 45:02I didn't catch that I. Rule #4 seatbelts, as we already
- 45:07discussed, very very important. We see a woman driving away from
- 45:13her children that are zombies now.
- 45:16I love this scene because it's like it's a themed birthday
- 45:20party. It's like, I don't know, I'd say
- 45:22that the girls are all like 7 or 8 years old and they're all
- 45:25dressed up as Disney princesses and they're all zombies
- 45:29attacking this one. She's running over in the
- 45:31neighborhood children. It reminds me so much of the
- 45:34intro to Donna. The yes, that's exactly what I
- 45:36was thinking about, but much more played for laughs.
- 45:39Yeah, So what the fuck does this?
- 45:44Oh no, we get like the opening credits and it's like a bunch of
- 45:49slow motion shots of just like chaos.
- 45:51Yeah, with For Whom the Bell Tolls.
- 45:54Yeah. Playing overtime, I only wrote
- 45:55one thing there and I was really confused for a second, but it
- 45:58just said three legged father son race.
- 46:01It's because one of like the one that like really made me laugh
- 46:04is like one of the zombies is like chasing the father and son
- 46:07and like one of those like 3 legs are tied together and
- 46:10they're doing the three goal 3 legged race, which is funny.
- 46:13I thought it was really funny. I love the opening shot here.
- 46:16Like everything's in super slow mode a lot.
- 46:18Of those opening shots was coming out of a strip club so I.
- 46:20Yeah, I noticed. That where the weird tag line
- 46:24about avoid strip clubs came from.
- 46:26That makes sense. Yeah, so that's what I'm
- 46:28picturing is like that shot. I wonder if canonically, that's
- 46:31actually one of the rules. I wish.
- 46:33I wonder if they ever published the rules.
- 46:35I'm sure they have to somewhere, but I did write down every
- 46:38single rule as it was introduced.
- 46:40I did too. So that's one of my favorite
- 46:42things about this sequel is like when they're like just like
- 46:45comparing rules back and forth. Yeah, cuz Thomas noodled it.
- 46:48He doesn't have rules he's got. Amendment or commandments?
- 46:52Commandments, yeah, I almost said amendments too.
- 46:54And I was like, no, that's the Constitution.
- 46:56Yeah, the Bible version of amendments.
- 46:59Yeah. Oh God, I love that so much.
- 47:02OK, so now we get Columbus out of gas station two months after
- 47:06the outbreak. I look, I wrote.
- 47:09Two years ago, someone ate a contaminated gas station
- 47:13sandwich. Two years.
- 47:16Almost, yeah. Yeah.
- 47:18So it was basically, wow, that's later where he explains it.
- 47:24But yeah, the gas, the gas station sandwich.
- 47:27He's explaining that he suffers from IBS, which if you are
- 47:31unaware of what that is, that's irritable bowel syndrome.
- 47:34So you got to go poopy a lot. Yeah, especially when you're
- 47:37like experiencing emotional distress.
- 47:40Yeah, which is his world now. So he's doing the bathroom
- 47:45checks, which is rule #3 and he ends up being chased by a zombie
- 47:51there. Cardio.
- 47:53He's able to run. He gets to his car, drops the
- 47:55keys, so he does another lap around the parking lot.
- 47:58When he comes back, man, his car has been unlocked the whole
- 48:00time, so whatever. He starts to drive away.
- 48:02Uh, Zombie in the back seat. Guess what he does though.
- 48:04Slams on his brakes. He's buckled in.
- 48:07Zombie wasn't. Zombie flies through.
- 48:08Buckle your seat belt and he poops his pants.
- 48:13Double tapping OK no I think what he was saying here is like
- 48:17he had to go poop but he wasn't able to and he ended up double
- 48:20tapping rule #2 and he says but at least I found a place to go
- 48:25to, which I think is him saying I double tapped I.
- 48:29Think he's? He's wearing the same clothes
- 48:30later. Are you telling me he's wearing
- 48:32poopy clothes? Jesse Eisenberg, This guy right
- 48:35here. This character would not be
- 48:37caught dead in poopy clothes. I think he just went and got
- 48:39some different jeans. I don't know man, maybe.
- 48:42Jeans look the same. I think he was just making a
- 48:44joke but whatever. I think he pooped his pants, I
- 48:49think. I think we found our pole.
- 48:52I think when you're being chased by zombies like poop in your
- 48:55pants, this is the least of your concerns.
- 48:57You deal with that once you know like that hierarchy of needs you
- 49:01need to survive before you can worry about your poopy pants.
- 49:03That were the case and why even go to the bathroom?
- 49:06Just continue shitting in your pants the rest of your life.
- 49:09Like I just said, math hierarchy of needs.
- 49:11If you're not in immediately like threat of bodily harm, then
- 49:15you can worry about pooping in the proper hygienic place.
- 49:19But you know, if you're being chased and poop happens to come
- 49:21out of your butt, that's just what happens.
- 49:24Like you got to get yourself safe first.
- 49:26You're speaking this like somebody who has regularly done
- 49:29this. OK, so he's now walking the
- 49:34highway because his car is ruined.
- 49:36Yeah. And he's just kind of.
- 49:39He talks about travel, light. That's rule #7.
- 49:41Oh, yes, yes. And he said that he was a loner
- 49:44before, but now he's just lonely.
- 49:48Yeah, Tallahassee rolls up, though we don't know what's
- 49:51Tallahassee yet, but this black SUV is rolling around.
- 49:55He gets out, he notices Columbus and they get into a standoff.
- 49:58They have a standoff and I like how like they just keep holding
- 50:01the guns up higher and then he like puts.
- 50:04His yeah, like. He's a shiking, so he's trying
- 50:07to go to Columbus. He was in the dorms in Austin
- 50:10when the zombie outbreak happened.
- 50:13So he's trying to go to Columbus to check on his parents and
- 50:16Tallahassee says, well, he's going east to Tallahassee.
- 50:20And so he's like, I'll take you some of the way.
- 50:24And he was like, perfect, that's great.
- 50:25And he goes, I give it till Texarkana before we can't stand
- 50:29each. Other.
- 50:29And that's what as far as he'll go.
- 50:31Yeah. So also, I think, I think I know
- 50:34what it is about Jesse Eisenberg's physical acting that
- 50:36works is he does everything so stiffly.
- 50:38Yeah, he's a very. Uptight.
- 50:40Twitchy little. Guy.
- 50:41Yeah, yeah, almost kind of like Eric Foreman.
- 50:45Rule 31 Check the back seat. So he does check the back seat
- 50:49before getting in. They he Tallahassee is drinking
- 50:53and driving. He's just got like an open
- 50:55bottle of liquor there. They do a shot together, except
- 50:59Columbus tosses shot out the window, so they then stumble
- 51:05upon a Hostess truck that has wrecked on the side of the road.
- 51:09Yeah, he his, one of his main things is he's been trying to
- 51:12find a Twinkie because Twinkies remind him of simpler times.
- 51:15So if he's the Hostess truck, they get down there.
- 51:18Roll, roll #18 number up. Yeah, that because like Columbus
- 51:24is over there doing the stretches and looking like a
- 51:27silly. Honestly like I think limbering
- 51:30up is just a good idea for people in general.
- 51:32Stretch 5 to 10 minutes of stretching per day is honestly
- 51:35life changing and there are studies on that.
- 51:38If you want links, I'll send you links, just let me.
- 51:39Know Yeah. So they get down there, they
- 51:43open up the truck, and it's full of snowballs instead.
- 51:46I love this cuz he was like I hate coconut.
- 51:48Not the taste, it's a texture thing.
- 51:50Yeah, which is honestly the argument I've heard from like
- 51:5390% of the people in my life that don't like coconut.
- 51:56They're like, it's not the flavour, it's just I don't like
- 51:58the texture. I'm kind of surprised that he
- 52:00was OK with Twinkies being a thing since they're not vegan.
- 52:02I know I. Figured that would have been one
- 52:04of his conditions like. I wonder like he must have had a
- 52:07spit bucket or something for that.
- 52:09Did he even eat it? I don't think we ever seen him
- 52:11take a bite because he never gets one until the very.
- 52:13End. Yeah.
- 52:14And then he's just, it's packaged so they don't even eat
- 52:17it yet. So yeah, they end up.
- 52:22They got it. Stop for another poo break.
- 52:24Yeah, whereas he says he's gotta take the Browns to the Super
- 52:28Bowl. It's one of the oldest ones in
- 52:30the book right there. Used to hear that shit all the
- 52:32time. We always just said drop the
- 52:34kids off at the pool. I heard that one a lot too.
- 52:37So they he stops at the bathroom and this is where he's doing
- 52:40some more narrations. Like, I may be a scared little
- 52:44guy, but zombies aren't the thing that scared me the most,
- 52:46the thing that scares me the absolute most.
- 52:48He's got a couple of other things he mentions first, and I
- 52:51think it's a great list. Department store Santas being
- 52:55alone with babies. That's that's a fair one if.
- 52:59It's not your own baby. It's terrifying to be alone.
- 53:01With that it is, it's so fragile.
- 53:03I don't want to be responsible for getting hurt in my watch.
- 53:07Yeah. Like it doesn't know how to be a
- 53:09human yet. I barely know how to be a human.
- 53:11Please don't put me in charge of this thing.
- 53:13It's so soft and like it's. Was she?
- 53:15Yeah, I I don't know what to do. It's crying, it smells weird,
- 53:19and it might throw up on. Me.
- 53:20It definitely throws up on me. Yeah.
- 53:24So on top of all those things, yeah, it's clowns.
- 53:28I like this clown that he shows right there.
- 53:30That's actually, like, a little creepy thing.
- 53:32Like he, like, cuts to a clown just peeking at him underneath
- 53:34the bathroom stall. Yeah.
- 53:36Although it's just a figment of his nest imagination.
- 53:38He goes poof, it's gone. He talks about how he used to
- 53:43just stay inside all the time because he was just afraid of
- 53:45everything. And he talks about, you know, he
- 53:49was in apartment four O 8 when he was in college and his
- 53:53neighbor, four O 6, like, was pounding on the door begging for
- 53:59him to let her in. And he let her in because, you
- 54:02know, he just thinks she's really hot.
- 54:04He that means a lot. He was in the middle of a sick
- 54:06World of Warcraft sesh. Like, you interrupt that right
- 54:10there. Yeah, that means a lot.
- 54:12So she said that she was coming home from the bar and this
- 54:16unhoused person started chasing after her.
- 54:18And she didn't realize that he was chasing after her at 1st.
- 54:20And when she did, she tried to run and he, like, got close to
- 54:24her. And she said he tried to bite
- 54:26her. But later we found out he
- 54:28probably actually did successfully.
- 54:30Yeah. Yeah.
- 54:30Because she was like, you know, just like, freaked out.
- 54:34And he was like, that's a reasonable thing to be afraid
- 54:36of. Like he's like, you're the right
- 54:38level of stressed right now. He's like, I'm, I'm me myself.
- 54:42I'm afraid of the clothes that they used to clean up the tables
- 54:46at restaurants. Also legit because those buckets
- 54:49do not get changed often enough. No, Brian, I.
- 54:52Probably shouldn't. I wouldn't use the word afraid,
- 54:54but I would just be like, it's not really doing shit.
- 54:57Yeah, I think here he also mentions the Santas.
- 55:00Yeah, something like that. No, he mentions clowns again.
- 55:03Clowns. OK, Yeah.
- 55:05But she's like, can I just, you know, rest here for a minute?
- 55:07And she falls asleep on him and he, it's kind of sweet, he says.
- 55:12Like one of the things he's always wanted is just a girl to
- 55:15like, brush the hair back from her face.
- 55:17It's nice. It's like the version that like
- 55:21you always kiss me on my forehead and that's always so
- 55:24sweet. That's a nice thing.
- 55:26Yeah, I know exactly what he's talking about.
- 55:27Yeah, that's. This little sweet thing.
- 55:29Yeah, yeah. So they both fall asleep on the
- 55:31couch together and she wakes him up.
- 55:35I was on the FIDE. Although he doesn't really
- 55:37realize that. He just thinks that she's being
- 55:38weird for whatever reason, so she starts chasing him through
- 55:42the apartment, leads all the way to the bathroom.
- 55:45I love this bit because he's like on the floor and he opens
- 55:48up his cabinet to find weapons and he's just throwing toilet
- 55:51papers. Yeah, Pine.
- 55:53Balls, yeah, but eventually he found like some spray like that
- 55:57stops her for a second. So I saw, yeah.
- 55:59Yeah, and then he gets the toilet lid and hits her with it.
- 56:02Yeah, which he thinks gets her. She also, like when he was being
- 56:06chased, he like closed the door and it ended up getting her
- 56:09foot, which like broke her foot and bone was sticking out of the
- 56:12side there. So she's now, after all of that,
- 56:15limping out of the bathroom going towards him, and then he
- 56:18hits her again with the lid. And this is the conception of
- 56:23double tap as a rule. Yep.
- 56:25And this is how he said, you've heard of mad cow.
- 56:26Well, mad cow became mad person became mad zombie disease.
- 56:30And that's what was in the contaminated gas station
- 56:32sandwich. And I just think that generally
- 56:34people shouldn't eat anything that's not in like sterilized
- 56:38packaging from the gas station. Apparently the disease it causes
- 56:42a swollen brain, an intense fever and then violent and
- 56:45hungry at the same time. Oh, if you have never read up
- 56:49about mad cow disease, it's fucking terrifying.
- 56:54I'm not really, no. Is it similar to that?
- 56:58Yeah. OK, it's in the way it just
- 57:00completely just Yeah, it's a brain disease.
- 57:04So it's, yeah, it's intense. I remember when it was a big
- 57:07outbreak back around this time, yeah.
- 57:10Yeah, well, it wasn't around this time.
- 57:12It was in like the 90s in Europe.
- 57:13Oh, was it? Yeah.
- 57:14Oh, OK. Well, all right.
- 57:16That's why they have like the thing whenever you donate blood,
- 57:18like, did you live in Europe for more than three months during
- 57:21this time frame? Yeah, well, I was and donating
- 57:24blood back then. I was a child.
- 57:26Well, they still have that question.
- 57:27Oh, do they? Yeah.
- 57:28Oh, OK, that's. What I'm referencing now I got
- 57:32you. OK, so now they're certain they
- 57:34just have a conversation, like when's the last time you had
- 57:37sex? You know, just casual chit chat
- 57:40to have along the ride there. Yeah.
- 57:42Columbus says it's three weeks ago in the back of an abandoned
- 57:45FedEx truck. Because they just pass an
- 57:47abandoned FedEx truck. A lot.
- 57:49Kaiser Soze. Yeah, just guy coming up with
- 57:51shit on the spot. I love this.
- 57:54And then like there's a zombie in the road and they just drive
- 57:56past in Tallahassee, opens the door and just.
- 58:00This is another thing I checked. He said the person that he had
- 58:03sex with was Beverly Hills, which I was like, oh, is that
- 58:07the name that they used for the girl in the sequel?
- 58:09It's not. Yeah, I can't remember.
- 58:11One name, I don't remember her name either.
- 58:14So they get to a store and they're in the middle of, like,
- 58:18our neck of the woods, basically.
- 58:20Yeah. And they use a banjo to lure out
- 58:23the zombies and. By playing the Deliverance Ding,
- 58:27Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding Ding.
- 58:30Yeah, so they end up killing 33 big old boys and some flannel,
- 58:37and then Emma Stone pops out. She's like, hurry.
- 58:42And so they go back there. But first Columbus has to prop
- 58:47open a door because rule #22 when in doubt, know your way
- 58:51out. Again, very good rule for just
- 58:54like life in general, always it it.
- 58:57This is why you know there are egress laws in in housing
- 59:03regulations because you need to have multiple ways out in case
- 59:06of an emergency. So they, Wichita takes them back
- 59:10to Little Rock, her little sister, who she says has been
- 59:14bitten, and they're trying to figure out how to help.
- 59:17Yeah, Wichita, basically. Yeah, we need to shoot her,
- 59:20basically. And they're trying to find any
- 59:22other reason to do this other than that.
- 59:24And I, this was such a bold move to like, so Columbus, you know,
- 59:30he's like, I, I'm not going to shoot a little girl.
- 59:32And she's like, well, give it to him.
- 59:35And like Abigail Breslin's really giving it to him.
- 59:37She's like, you just can't, you didn't, why do you even have
- 59:41that gun? And so Tallahassee takes the
- 59:45gun. And this was a bold move.
- 59:47How do they know that he wouldn't have been the type to
- 59:49be like Zombie boom? That's exactly what I was
- 59:51thinking during the scene. There's so many people,
- 59:53especially three or two months into the mess here, like people
- 59:56are on edge, they're not going to take risks.
- 59:59Although I guess if they are like practiced, like con people,
- 1:00:03like they would maybe know how to read people a little bit.
- 1:00:08It's still it's still a bold move.
- 1:00:10If I were to read Tallahassee, I would peg him as the shoot and
- 1:00:13ask questions after a later person.
- 1:00:15But Wichita does stop him and says like no, I need to be the
- 1:00:20one to do this and instead what they actually do is they take.
- 1:00:24Their guns, Yeah. And Jack's their car.
- 1:00:27So now they are without car. Yep.
- 1:00:31So the sisters are driving to Pacific Playland, which is
- 1:00:34supposed to be zombie free. And then the guys debate about
- 1:00:41zombie kill of the week, and they're also looking for a car.
- 1:00:46And there's a minivan there that Tallahassee will not abide by
- 1:00:49that, but he does use it to blow off some steam.
- 1:00:53Which leads to, well, no, never mind, That's not the Rule 32.
- 1:00:59Yeah. Instead they pass by a house and
- 1:01:03the setting for this like town. I've been to this town.
- 1:01:08Yeah, I've. Seen this town?
- 1:01:09I know this town. I've seen that house.
- 1:01:11Yeah, that this Hummer is driven into the side.
- 1:01:14Yes, this house that costs more than this Hummer that costs more
- 1:01:18than this house, Yeah. And so they get in there, they
- 1:01:21check the back seat, it has a bag full of guns and it's
- 1:01:26Tallahassee said. Thank God for rednecks.
- 1:01:29So he just starts wildly shooting into the sky, which I
- 1:01:33think is not wise. You might want to preserve your
- 1:01:37ammo here, but this is rule 32. Enjoy the little things.
- 1:01:42Hold, hold on. Oh no, it's still not there yet.
- 1:01:45Got it. I keep there, yet I keep trying
- 1:01:47to get to there. You want to just skip over the
- 1:01:49sadness, which is so they're in the car and they're driving and
- 1:01:53they start talking about like home, what does home look like?
- 1:01:55And he said, well, home for me was a little puppy named Buck.
- 1:02:01And then we got this cute little like montage of them like eating
- 1:02:04pancakes and taking a bath and playing games.
- 1:02:08It's so. Sweet.
- 1:02:09And he said the zombies got them.
- 1:02:10And he's like, now I'm just trying to find a new home
- 1:02:14wherever I can. And then this is where he says
- 1:02:17rule #32 go to enjoy the little things.
- 1:02:19Which this is one that like a new one he just added because
- 1:02:23he. Just and he writes it down in
- 1:02:24his notebook. I like he keeps them written
- 1:02:26down. So they find their Cadillac in
- 1:02:29the middle of the road with an SOS message.
- 1:02:33And so Columbus is supposed to stay in the Hummer and wait for
- 1:02:39the all clear while Tallahassee goes and checks it out.
- 1:02:41And he doesn't see anybody out there, doesn't see any sign of
- 1:02:46anybody. And so he tries to do the
- 1:02:48signal. When he gets back to the Hummer,
- 1:02:50he's like all clear. And Columbus is like, he goes,
- 1:02:53she's in the back seat, isn't she?
- 1:02:55That's when Little Rock pops up and she's got a gun and she's
- 1:02:58like. Tap your horn and she beeps or
- 1:03:02he beeps the horn and then Wichita comes out.
- 1:03:05So they are just, you know, actually just going to ride with
- 1:03:08them this time. Yeah.
- 1:03:10Just hold them hostage so they're holding them at gunpoint
- 1:03:13as they're driving. Yeah, this is where we get a
- 1:03:16little bit back story on them. They used to do like, con
- 1:03:19schemes together. And So what we were referencing
- 1:03:22before the beginning of this episode was Wichita would be at
- 1:03:26a gas station looking around for her engagement ring.
- 1:03:29Some rube comes up and it's like, can I help you?
- 1:03:32And she's like, I lost my engagement ring.
- 1:03:34It's worth more than my house. I'm going to miss my flight.
- 1:03:37And he's like, well, I'll look for it, and I can mail it to
- 1:03:40you. She's like, Are you sure?
- 1:03:41I would give you a reward, $3000?
- 1:03:43And he's like, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 1:03:45So she's like, OK, cool. Gets the information, drives
- 1:03:49off, and then Little Rock comes up, finds the ring.
- 1:03:53And then the guy was like, oh, hey, that's my friend's ring.
- 1:03:57I'm holding it for her. And she's like well do I get
- 1:03:59reward money? And so then she takes whatever
- 1:04:01money she can get cuz he thinks. Cash from the registers.
- 1:04:04Yeah, cuz he thinks he's going to get $3000.
- 1:04:06And a date probably. And a date.
- 1:04:08Yeah. But as it turns out, these are
- 1:04:10all just like costume jewelry. Yeah, like she picks up Little
- 1:04:15Rock after the fact and it's like, man, I want one of these
- 1:04:18things one of these days, she said.
- 1:04:20Well, $30 you can get one cuz they have like a whole bag of
- 1:04:23them. So.
- 1:04:25Yeah, So they're all pointing guns at each other, like,
- 1:04:30because Tallahassee at one point gets the gun from Little Rock,
- 1:04:33which of course makes Wichita turn around, pointing her gut at
- 1:04:36him. And then Columbus of all
- 1:04:38people's snaps. Like, he yells at them.
- 1:04:41And I think it was like him yelling that made them all go
- 1:04:43oh. Yeah, maybe we should all re
- 1:04:46evaluate the situation. So yeah, they all put their guns
- 1:04:48down. Yeah, So he, they, they have
- 1:04:54like, kind of an, an easy truce. And then, you know, they start
- 1:04:56talking about where they're going.
- 1:04:57And he asks if there's any or, well, they're going, they're all
- 1:05:02going to Pacific Playland now. Like, they've kind of taken him
- 1:05:04hostage. But he asks if there's been any
- 1:05:06news about Columbus. And she goes, well, the whole
- 1:05:08town's burned to the ground, so nothing left.
- 1:05:11And, like, she's pretty harsh about it.
- 1:05:13And his face just kind of drops. And she goes, oh, you're
- 1:05:16Columbus. Yeah.
- 1:05:18Like she makes the connection just a little bit too late.
- 1:05:21So she's like, well, if you want, we can find you another
- 1:05:25vehicle and then we'll let you have that and you can go see it
- 1:05:28for yourself to see if there's anything actually there for you.
- 1:05:32And then? It's like later at night we got
- 1:05:35like a little like a montage of them just kind of bonding while
- 1:05:38they're driving, kind of like a road trip type thing.
- 1:05:40I love the the bits with Tallahassee and Little Rock are
- 1:05:44my favorite because like Tallahassee like shocks, she
- 1:05:47doesn't know who Willie Nelson is and then later she's trying
- 1:05:49to explain Natalie Cyrus and Hannah Montana to him.
- 1:05:53And in the background popular from Wickedest playing.
- 1:05:57Oh, really? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:58Also, whenever she's like, they let her drive for a bit and then
- 1:06:02they're like, you should go 20 miles an hour and then like
- 1:06:04Columbus and the guy's like actually 20 mph is too fast.
- 1:06:08Yeah, so that like we have all these moments and then it's
- 1:06:10night time. Tallahassee and Little Rocker
- 1:06:13sleep in the back seat and Wichita's driving.
- 1:06:16They pull up, they see a truck, and she let's Columbus out.
- 1:06:20And then he realizes that, you know, he doesn't really have a
- 1:06:23home to go to anymore. So.
- 1:06:25Why wouldn't he just? Stay with her, yeah.
- 1:06:28What's the thing to the family he's got right now?
- 1:06:30Yeah, Tallahassee is starting to feel cooped up, so he asks if
- 1:06:33they can stop, and this is where they're at.
- 1:06:35That like Southwest Native American themed store and he
- 1:06:42says he wants to go in and check 1st and Columbus is like feel
- 1:06:46free to go ahead because rule #17.
- 1:06:48Don't be a hero. Yeah, so now we get an actual
- 1:06:52visual of what Zombie Kill of the Week was.
- 1:06:55Sister Cynthia Knickerbocker, Yes, who dropped a piano on a
- 1:06:59zombie? Yeah, yeah, it's a it's like a
- 1:07:03very Looney Tunes set up. For sure, I like it.
- 1:07:06Yeah, I do too. So while they're in there,
- 1:07:09they're just kind of like checking out this shit around
- 1:07:12there. So Clemis is sniffing some,
- 1:07:14like, Cologne and perfume, and Tallahassee comes over.
- 1:07:17He realizes what's going on. He's like, oh, my God, you have
- 1:07:20a crush on her, don't you? And he was like, say it a little
- 1:07:22bit louder, Like, yeah. Everybody can hear.
- 1:07:25And then like to try, like, you know, he's teasing him a little
- 1:07:28bit. And when he turns his back,
- 1:07:29Columbus sprays him into perfume, and he can see the
- 1:07:33immediate. Like regret like he like gets so
- 1:07:35stiff and like stuck up, he's like.
- 1:07:37They seem like brothers in this moment, like that's where like
- 1:07:40the brotherliness comes into it with them.
- 1:07:43I like that they bonded. Yeah.
- 1:07:45Yeah, you could tell that they have like, their time together.
- 1:07:47They have like an actual companionship.
- 1:07:49I like how he's like, I've done a lot worse for a lot less.
- 1:07:52I will go half power on you. And so he hits him, climbs his
- 1:07:57backs up and knocks something off the table and breaks and he
- 1:08:00goes. That felt good, didn't it?
- 1:08:01My favorite part about that though, is like whenever he's
- 1:08:03just staring him down after doing that, he's like, you know
- 1:08:06what? You're right.
- 1:08:06Let me begin with my three-part apology.
- 1:08:09First of all, I think you're a terrific person.
- 1:08:14I love that anytime something he's wrong, somebody's like, let
- 1:08:17me begin with my three-part. It's so funny.
- 1:08:23So yeah, chaos starts to come from that right there.
- 1:08:26They kind of do their own little rage room, and I will say, if
- 1:08:30you have the means to go to a rage room, and I'm saying this
- 1:08:36like in a professional sense because they give you protective
- 1:08:39equipment and everything, Yeah, it's actually really
- 1:08:41therapeutic. It's nice.
- 1:08:43It feels really nice. You will be very fucking sore.
- 1:08:46So, you know, follow rule 18 and limber up but.
- 1:08:49Yeah, also, things are a lot more difficult to break than
- 1:08:52they seem. Yeah, it's not as easy to break
- 1:08:55something as you might think it is.
- 1:08:56The. Amount of times I threw a bottle
- 1:08:58at the floor and I just bounced. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:01Wild. It boils your mind.
- 1:09:02It gives you a new appreciation on life.
- 1:09:05Yeah. So, OK, they've done that.
- 1:09:07They've borne off steam. They now arrive in California.
- 1:09:11They are agreeing that they're going to stick together till at
- 1:09:15least they make it to Pacific Fun Land.
- 1:09:18And they, but they need to nap and clean up a little bit.
- 1:09:22So they decide, you know, they're in LA.
- 1:09:24Why don't we? Why don't we stay in style?
- 1:09:27And don't worry, Tallahassee's got just the house in mind.
- 1:09:31Is it first of all, I want to correct myself my three-part
- 1:09:35apology. It's Pacific playland and I said
- 1:09:38fun land. But also, do these maps actually
- 1:09:41have where celebrities live and they do tours outside their
- 1:09:45house? Yes, that would be so fucking
- 1:09:48annoying. Yes that people go and they can
- 1:09:51get a map to your house. Yes, that sounds like such an
- 1:09:55invasion of privacy. Yes, man, that's that's part of
- 1:10:00the thing, I guess when you become that famous, like, yeah,
- 1:10:04you get a lot of shit, but also say bye to everything else.
- 1:10:07Why some of them like like Steve Zahn lives here in.
- 1:10:10Lexington. Yeah, I get it too.
- 1:10:13So yeah, they, they go stop at the the Hollywood Walk of Fame
- 1:10:19and they shoot a tourist and they end up getting a map from
- 1:10:23them, which I that's smart. I like that.
- 1:10:25They get like, oh here's a tourist, I'll get a map from
- 1:10:27them. I like that they they wind up at
- 1:10:29Bill Murray's house and they're looking around for food and
- 1:10:32whatnot and there are no Twinkies and Emma Stone says I
- 1:10:35knew we should have gone to Russell Crowe's, which is such a
- 1:10:38mean joke. That was so funny.
- 1:10:39I can't believe they did that. That felt like a like a deleted
- 1:10:43scene. It was mean.
- 1:10:44Yeah. Oh man.
- 1:10:45I also laughed. So I did too, a little bit.
- 1:10:48You know what Russell Crowe is living is good life right now.
- 1:10:51He's making, he's making good Movies Now he's making the shit
- 1:10:54that. I like now exactly.
- 1:10:56Russell Crowe is on our watch list constantly right now.
- 1:10:59So so. Little Rock is not aware of who
- 1:11:02Bill Murray is. So Columbus is like, we're going
- 1:11:05to teach a little something. Takes her into the theater, and
- 1:11:09they watch Ghostbusters. Yeah.
- 1:11:11Meanwhile, Tallahassee and Wichita are looking around, and
- 1:11:16they start playing around with some of the stuff when Bill
- 1:11:18Murray pops up. As a zombie.
- 1:11:20As a zombie and they're ready. Like, what is it?
- 1:11:23Somebody hits him. Yeah, Wichita hits him with the
- 1:11:27Golf Club because she's over there golfing inside the place.
- 1:11:31And they realized that he's not a zombie.
- 1:11:34And he says no, no, I knew how to do this makeup and I've been
- 1:11:37doing it some way I can go out in public cuz it really suits my
- 1:11:40lifestyle to be able to leave the house.
- 1:11:42It's like, I forget what golf range it was that he said.
- 1:11:45He was like, I just walked right on the course and Van Halen.
- 1:11:47He's like, wow, how old is he? He's a zombie.
- 1:11:52So they smoke some weed out of the hookah.
- 1:11:54They reenact some Ghostbusters. This is a thing that happens.
- 1:11:58And if you have a Hollywood movie where you get like, the
- 1:12:01actor themselves playing themselves, you reenact the
- 1:12:04movie, Yeah, it's like this is the end all over again.
- 1:12:06Yeah. So yeah, they do that and then
- 1:12:10they're like, OK, they like come up with a point.
- 1:12:12Like you like Columbus, He's really easy to spook.
- 1:12:15So he's like a little Bunny rabbit.
- 1:12:16Yeah, so he's like, OK, I'm gonna go give him a good spook.
- 1:12:20So he puts on his makeup again and goes into the movie theater
- 1:12:26while they're watching that, doing his zombie bit.
- 1:12:27And then Kwamas just jumps up immediately grabs a shotgun and
- 1:12:31shoots him in the gut. Yep.
- 1:12:33And and that's I think partially was because, you know, he's
- 1:12:36always on edge, and partially because they just had that whole
- 1:12:38talk about how Wichita, like, bad boys.
- 1:12:41Yeah, You know, he already knocked over the popcorn.
- 1:12:43He's already like, primed. True.
- 1:12:45Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:12:46But this right here. I mean, I get it.
- 1:12:47Like, if that happened to me with, like, no warning, I would
- 1:12:50fucking shoot, too, right away. That was a terrible idea to do
- 1:12:53it. And then Bill Murray's like, you
- 1:12:55know what? This is my fault.
- 1:12:56That was never a good, practical joker.
- 1:12:58Yeah, and then Little Rock says. Do you have any regrets to his
- 1:13:02Garfield ME? Yeah, and then he has like the
- 1:13:07most long drawn out death of everybody here.
- 1:13:10He's just like and. Then they go outside, they give
- 1:13:21him a 21 and salute and then toss him into the pool.
- 1:13:25I love when they're carrying him out, they just keep dropping his
- 1:13:28body and it's just so bad. They just like, dump him off his
- 1:13:33balcony. So they play some monopoly and
- 1:13:38argue about the best or worst parts of zombie land.
- 1:13:41And then Tallahassee says the worst part was losing Buck.
- 1:13:45And then he starts crying. And then this is when Columbus
- 1:13:48realizes that Buck wasn't a puppy, it was his son.
- 1:13:51And I want to cry just saying that out loud.
- 1:13:54It's so it was bad enough when I was a puppy.
- 1:13:57Yeah, it's also like Tallahassee has dropped the illusion.
- 1:14:01And it's the dog, too. He just shows the picture of his
- 1:14:04son to everybody. And the little duct tape wallet
- 1:14:07that they made together. Yeah, and it's really sad.
- 1:14:11So we get more like little moments, like snippets of them
- 1:14:17just living in Bill Murray's mansion.
- 1:14:19Tallahassee's down at the bottom, just shooting things,
- 1:14:23doing target practice, and Little Rock decides that she's
- 1:14:25going to go down there and, you know, get some practice herself.
- 1:14:28So he's teaching her how to shoot and like, breathe out
- 1:14:30before you squeeze the the trigger.
- 1:14:33And then we see Wichita and Columbus drinking some wine and
- 1:14:36they're flirting. Some good flirting.
- 1:14:39Yeah, they're talking about 1997, all the good and bad
- 1:14:42things that happened back, which I was trying to think, I'm like,
- 1:14:46I can't tell you events that happen in any specific year.
- 1:14:50My brain does not work that way that.
- 1:14:52Was when my little sister was born 97?
- 1:14:54Yeah. OK, so I remember that.
- 1:14:57It was also when I started kindergarten.
- 1:15:00I'm OK. We got Lyco.
- 1:15:03Wow, you remember a lot of things.
- 1:15:04I can't tell you it. Those are the big things because
- 1:15:07I was 5. Did Super Smash Bros come out?
- 1:15:11Maybe Mario came out the year before, maybe Zelda came out.
- 1:15:15I don't know. I was playing some Nintendo.
- 1:15:18That was probably what I was doing back then.
- 1:15:20But I think that's kind of what you would do if you were trying
- 1:15:23to think of the year. You would be like, OK, what's a
- 1:15:25major event? And then you kind of like go
- 1:15:26from there. Yeah, that's true.
- 1:15:28And you're. Like, OK, this is what that year
- 1:15:29looked like for me. Yoshi's Story, Yeah, I played
- 1:15:31some Yoshi Story. Yoshi Story this fuck shit.
- 1:15:34And I like how his was like talking about the Sadie Hawkins
- 1:15:37dance and he didn't get asked and she goes those bitches.
- 1:15:40Yeah, a bunch of 8th graders, Yeah.
- 1:15:42Which like, that's very much the energy that I've had when I've
- 1:15:45been a little like wine drunk with you.
- 1:15:46And you'll be like, tell a story from someone, be like that bitch
- 1:15:50and I'll be like, let's show her.
- 1:15:53We're happily married now. Yeah, I loved a very, I loved a
- 1:15:57very Columbus lifestyle pre I was also the World of War,
- 1:16:01except my World of Warcraft was Runescape.
- 1:16:04Did you have Mountain Dew Code Red?
- 1:16:06Yeah, I did. I fucking loved that.
- 1:16:08I didn't like code red. Oh man, I loved.
- 1:16:10It I like pitch black. Pitchmark was pretty good too.
- 1:16:13It was a great one. Yeah, it's called red, though
- 1:16:16that's just the gamer juice, Jesse.
- 1:16:19I'm not gamer enough to drink gamer juice.
- 1:16:22Sorry so. They're about to kiss when
- 1:16:26Tallahassee pops in and he said, hey, we're trying to build a
- 1:16:29Fort. Can you help us with this?
- 1:16:31What? I like that because he's.
- 1:16:35I like that they've become like their little family.
- 1:16:37And OK, that is sweet. Yeah, like, you know, he lost
- 1:16:42his son and there's this little 12 year old who's lost her
- 1:16:44parents and. Yeah, he cock blocked.
- 1:16:48He didn't know he was cock blocked.
- 1:16:49I don't think he ever thought that Columbus would have gotten
- 1:16:52even close to a kiss. And to be fair, they could have
- 1:16:54already been kissing. I was screaming at the screen.
- 1:16:56Kiss her, kiss her, kiss her. She is giving you all the signs
- 1:16:59and he's just going. Yeah, I mean, he he was not
- 1:17:05capitalizing fast enough. But you know what man, Sometimes
- 1:17:08it takes a minute. So the next morning, they wake
- 1:17:12up to the sound of the car starting and the sisters are
- 1:17:16leaving and Wichita saying like, I can't believe I almost kissed
- 1:17:19him. What's our rule?
- 1:17:20It's just you and me. Trust no one.
- 1:17:24So Tallahassee is like, you know what I've been thinking We
- 1:17:26should go to Mexico, but there's Twinkies in Mexico.
- 1:17:30Probably. So, but then, you know, Columbus
- 1:17:34is like, I want to go after them and he's like, I'm going to
- 1:17:37Mexico. Yeah.
- 1:17:41So they're down there at Pacific Playland now, and there's no
- 1:17:44zombies there, to their credit of, you know, thinking it's a
- 1:17:48safe haven. So they go there, they find the
- 1:17:51switch to turn on the power, and they turn the power on.
- 1:17:54And this attracts all the zombies in the area because it's
- 1:17:57bright lights, all kinds of music and sounds playing.
- 1:18:01So yeah. So they go running for their car
- 1:18:05and they get into it and they're just like surrounded by the
- 1:18:09zombies. They're able to start driving
- 1:18:11it, but it's kind of a hopeless prospect.
- 1:18:13So they plan a duck and roll and as they do it, it sends all the
- 1:18:18zombies that are like clinging onto the car into the water with
- 1:18:20the Hummer. I thought that that was a bad
- 1:18:22place. You should have driven away and
- 1:18:24just trying to take on the few zombies you had there instead of
- 1:18:27like the hundreds of zombies that are swarming you now.
- 1:18:29Yeah, well yeah cuz like you said there are more coming.
- 1:18:32So they run for the drop tower, which.
- 1:18:34Is another terrible idea. We're being transparent in this
- 1:18:39episode. Jessie dropped her clipboard
- 1:18:41just now and had to go pick it up, which is becoming a
- 1:18:44recurring thing on every episode.
- 1:18:45We just, I don't. Know how that happened?
- 1:18:47We edit. I wasn't even doing this like I
- 1:18:49normally do. I was holding it.
- 1:18:51It just fell to the ground. So yeah, they go to the worst
- 1:18:55possible riot to escape. They go to what I call it the
- 1:18:58elevator. Always going to be the elevator.
- 1:19:00But what it's actually called in this movie is the blast off
- 1:19:04where you know it's just the sky when they go all the way up to
- 1:19:07the top and then they go back down.
- 1:19:08Yep. This is one of the ones that
- 1:19:09goes like a little bit up and down.
- 1:19:11It's like the Liberty launch a holiday world.
- 1:19:14OK, yeah, yeah, yeah. So they are on there.
- 1:19:19While they have been doing that, Qamas is gonna go save them on
- 1:19:24his motorcycle. Yeah, and Tallahassee has packed
- 1:19:28up his car and he's like, I'm not good at goodbyes, so let me
- 1:19:34just say that'll do, pig. He's like, that's the worst
- 1:19:39goodbye I've ever had my entire life.
- 1:19:41It's not even original. It's from a movie.
- 1:19:44When I die, I hope that's my entire eulogy.
- 1:19:46That'll do, Pig. Yeah, that'll do, Pig.
- 1:19:48If I do, I swear to God I'm going to catch so much Flack
- 1:19:51from everybody else. I will ride it out in my like
- 1:19:55living Will is that way they know.
- 1:19:57Yeah. OK.
- 1:19:57Also it's like here, it's recorded.
- 1:19:59That's true. I'm going to play this there
- 1:20:01too. That's if I make it that far.
- 1:20:03So. Assuming I don't take you down
- 1:20:05with me. Exactly, so Tallahassee feels
- 1:20:09sorry for him cuz he like he drives off and immediately
- 1:20:13wrecks. He drops a line.
- 1:20:14He was like, you know, those girls were somebody's daughters,
- 1:20:19too. That's true, yeah.
- 1:20:21So then he like tries to leave on that badass note.
- 1:20:26Doesn't. I don't even think he makes it
- 1:20:28to the point where he like releases the clutch, he just
- 1:20:31immediately falls into the. Edge.
- 1:20:33I love it too, because the musical cue there is so perfect.
- 1:20:36It's like epic music. And the Sprint just like falls
- 1:20:40over. So Tallahassee pulls over with
- 1:20:42his car. There's again in.
- 1:20:43We'll go. Yeah.
- 1:20:45So they're on the drop tower, and they're realizing that every
- 1:20:48time they drop down, the zombies are grabbing at them.
- 1:20:50So they get when they're up at the high point, they shoot at
- 1:20:53the control box to stop it, which works for a few minutes
- 1:20:57before the zombies are like, we can climb.
- 1:21:00Yeah. We can climb, so we're good at
- 1:21:02that shit. They get Columbus and
- 1:21:05Tallahassee get to Pacific Playland, and they see the
- 1:21:08Hummer in the water. And for a minute Columbus thinks
- 1:21:09that like the crash car, like they were in it, and that
- 1:21:13they've drowned until they hear the shouting from the drop
- 1:21:16tower. Yeah.
- 1:21:17And then they're like, OK, cool, we got to figure out what we're
- 1:21:20going to do in Tallahassee. Decides he's going to create a
- 1:21:22Divergent so that way Columbus can get over there.
- 1:21:25So he sets up shop in one of those game booths.
- 1:21:30Yes. He closes all the gates, yes.
- 1:21:32And then he lays a bunch of clips on one of the rows there,
- 1:21:36and then he's got a 2 angles. Pretty bad ass watching him.
- 1:21:39Yeah, dude, I love how this plays out.
- 1:21:42It's so cool. He's just going like this
- 1:21:45reminds me of Call of Duty zombies right here.
- 1:21:47Like World at War One location, you got zombies trying to get
- 1:21:51into your location, you're just shooting them.
- 1:21:54He fucking goes crazy on him. Columbus has a couple of zombies
- 1:21:59follow him into a haunted house, which I think is fun.
- 1:22:02Yeah, I like that he gets in there and when he's there, one
- 1:22:05of the props ends up actually just grabbing the zombie
- 1:22:07accidentally and just like dragging it inside the wall,
- 1:22:09that's what. I'm saying they made such good
- 1:22:11use of of this set piece. Yeah, lesser movies would have
- 1:22:15just like stopped at the drop tower and would not have taken
- 1:22:18advantage of all of the different kinds of things you
- 1:22:20see in an amusement park. Yeah, I agree.
- 1:22:22I like what they did here. They they actually maximize all
- 1:22:25that they could get from this right here.
- 1:22:27Cuz also after this, Tallahassee has now gone over to a roller
- 1:22:31coaster and he's just riding on the roller coaster kind of like
- 1:22:34an on the rail shooter. He's just shooting everything
- 1:22:36that's coming around. We get Columbus making it
- 1:22:41through the haunt and running up to the tower and then his final
- 1:22:45boss it's a clown zombie. Clown zombie's so cool.
- 1:22:50And he said, and it took this and it took Wichita for me to
- 1:22:53realize some rules are meant to be broken.
- 1:22:55And rule 17 pops up and it drops the don't.
- 1:22:59And it just says. Be a hero.
- 1:23:02So he, oh, he hits he. There's a there's an emergency
- 1:23:10switch over there at the control.
- 1:23:12So he hits that, which caught Little Rock in Wichita, ran out
- 1:23:17of ammo. And there's one zombie that's
- 1:23:18climbing up at the moon about to get them.
- 1:23:20So doing that causes that zombie to fall.
- 1:23:22They make it down. They're free now.
- 1:23:24Yeah. Tallahassee has successfully
- 1:23:27eliminated every zombie. Yeah.
- 1:23:30So they go over there to check on Tallahassee.
- 1:23:32Wait, first Wichita whispers in Columbus's ear that her name's
- 1:23:38Krista. Yeah, yeah, we actually do get a
- 1:23:40name for her. It's so funny.
- 1:23:42She's the only one that gives a name.
- 1:23:43And then he like, brushes her hair behind her.
- 1:23:45Ear, yeah. Then they go and find
- 1:23:47Tallahassee. He's in the fried Twinkie stand.
- 1:23:49Yeah, Yep. And.
- 1:23:51They're in there, they hear a sound from the storage room and
- 1:23:54so they shoot through the door. It's just rats.
- 1:23:56Columbus shoots a shred cuz he's like a hair trigger guy, yeah.
- 1:24:00And when they open up the door the rest of the way, they
- 1:24:03realize he shot the box. He's like.
- 1:24:08Maybe you can eat around it. He's.
- 1:24:11Like it's too soon. So they get out.
- 1:24:13They walk over to the Hummer. Well, the with the car is
- 1:24:17driving away, Yeah. And they're like, no.
- 1:24:20And then they realize that, like they weren't.
- 1:24:22They're just fucking with them. Yeah, and then Little Rock has
- 1:24:26something that she tosses to Tallahassee, and it's a Twinkie.
- 1:24:30Just a Twinkie. So they go over to try and get
- 1:24:32in the car again and they start driving off again and then they
- 1:24:35stop again. At this time, they actually want
- 1:24:37a minute. Yeah, they're family.
- 1:24:39They're family and we do get a post credits scene.
- 1:24:43Yep. We get a scene of Bill Murray
- 1:24:46doing he's no, yeah, yeah. It's whenever he's still dying.
- 1:24:52And Woody Harrelson Tallahassee's asking or trying
- 1:24:56to do quotes at him and like, asking him how he did the line
- 1:24:59or whatever. Yeah.
- 1:25:00So it's like giving him notes on how to act it out and then he
- 1:25:03dies. So yeah, that's how the movie
- 1:25:06ends. I think it's still a nine.
- 1:25:09I do too, it's a solid. Movie, I don't really.
- 1:25:11I don't really have much that I would want to correct.
- 1:25:15I mean, I would just, you know, give me some more zombie stuff,
- 1:25:17give me like a little bit of horror moments.
- 1:25:19The zombie clown thing has such good potential there.
- 1:25:21That's his final boss right there.
- 1:25:23Yeah, he kind of deals with it pretty easily.
- 1:25:26He goes over there, gets a hammer and smashes its head real
- 1:25:28fast. Yeah, it's not.
- 1:25:30It's not much of an epic battle. I think it could, like most
- 1:25:33potential, like amp up that moment in the haunted house.
- 1:25:36It's a haunted house already. Yeah, like make he's already a
- 1:25:40scared character. Put him in there and then
- 1:25:42introduce the clown zombie in there.
- 1:25:44And then we could have, like, our true horror moments right
- 1:25:48there. That right there would satisfy
- 1:25:50me because everything else with this movie I love, you know?
- 1:25:52OK. Fair enough.
- 1:25:54All right. What did Talia think of this
- 1:25:56one? Well Talia was thrown a tantrum
- 1:25:59especially during the rage room scene.
- 1:26:01She had her own little rage room moment and then she was sleepy.
- 1:26:05So I think generally she enjoyed the fun of this movie.
- 1:26:07However, even though we find out that the puppy was a tiny human
- 1:26:12is still counts as a dog death for her.
- 1:26:14So I think she's going to give it an 8.
- 1:26:16That's fair. Yeah.
- 1:26:17She's like, it misled me but it made me think a dog died.
- 1:26:19Yeah, she's like, I'm also not happy about the tiny human
- 1:26:22dying. But, you know, yeah, she had a
- 1:26:25lot of emotions to process. She's also she's like Columbus,
- 1:26:29she's nervous around tiny babies.
- 1:26:32Yeah. She's she loves them, but like
- 1:26:34she doesn't know how to react for the baby because everybody's
- 1:26:36so like don't get close to the baby.
- 1:26:37She's like, what are you talking about?
- 1:26:38And saving it. Yeah, she's like, this is baby's
- 1:26:40in danger. Yeah.
- 1:26:43Who is Zoe's ultimate warrior? This is a tough one.
- 1:26:47She's not Columbus because no rules.
- 1:26:49Fuck the rules. She's not manipulative enough to
- 1:26:53be either Wichita or Little Rock.
- 1:26:57I think she's a Tallahassee. I agree, I think she's
- 1:27:00Tallahassee. I think she would go into a
- 1:27:02grocery store and like meow the Deliverance Jingle because she
- 1:27:07likes songs. Yeah, she really does.
- 1:27:09Yeah. She would wear out her zombie
- 1:27:14and take them out that way. She would have fun taking them
- 1:27:18out. She would, But that's
- 1:27:19Tallahassee's whole thing. He loves.
- 1:27:20He has fun actually doing this. Yes, absolutely.
- 1:27:25OK, Dream sequel. They did so many things right
- 1:27:29with the real 1, so let's think of something else I guess.
- 1:27:35I OK I wish I can't not reference the sequel cuz we just
- 1:27:41watched it not that long ago. Yeah I like a lot of what they
- 1:27:45did. I wish that we had gotten more
- 1:27:48Luke Wilson and Thomas middle edition me.
- 1:27:50Too. Yeah, I want more of that analog
- 1:27:53storyline going on. Cuz I feel like I get it as a
- 1:27:58gag, but I feel like there was potential for that to be like a
- 1:28:01full story thing, like with them bonding with each other.
- 1:28:04And yes, seeing the contrast of these two characters that are so
- 1:28:08different but also so similar at the same time.
- 1:28:12Yeah, it would have been a lot of fun.
- 1:28:13Really. Give me double tap.
- 1:28:15But give me those two and give us some.
- 1:28:20I wanna see the counter characters to Wichita and Little
- 1:28:23Rock. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:28:25I think that they cuz like Tallahassee gets one with Nevada
- 1:28:30Rosario. Rosario.
- 1:28:34Dawson. Dawson.
- 1:28:35Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, yeah, they neither of them
- 1:28:38got one. Yeah.
- 1:28:40I would have like to have seen that.
- 1:28:41OK, OK. Who did you relate to?
- 1:28:45I relate to Columbus. Yeah, like I said, pre
- 1:28:49Zombieland, that was me back in my early college young, young
- 1:28:55wife days. I think I also relate to
- 1:28:59Columbus because actually I'm afraid of everything.
- 1:29:01Yeah, so, OK, All right, tagline.
- 1:29:10Sort of home is where the heart is.
- 1:29:12Home is where the heart beats. I don't get it.
- 1:29:17It's like a zombie. A zombie's heart doesn't beat.
- 1:29:22OK, I get that now. Yeah, that's, that's pretty
- 1:29:25good. Let's keep thinking OK, so if I
- 1:29:28had to explain it, it's not good.
- 1:29:35Pacific Playland of the Dead. Pacific Playland of the Dead.
- 1:29:41It could be like an alternate title.
- 1:29:43Yeah, Yeah, I keep trying to think of something with rules.
- 1:30:04Zombies rules, Survival rules. Zombies troll survival rules.
- 1:30:13How about survivors? Survivors, don't be a fool.
- 1:30:18Abide by the rule. No, it would have to at a
- 1:30:25minimum be rules. Rules.
- 1:30:28Yeah, cuz he's got 32. OK, well then that's I'm OK with
- 1:30:32making that change. Does it have to rhyme?
- 1:30:34Do we need to do that? Doesn't have to.
- 1:30:36Follow your heart and the rules. Crawl roll world.
- 1:30:42Oh have like crawl but like mark it out and make it spell roll
- 1:30:48rolls roll world. That's a stretch.
- 1:30:51I get it. Double tap these nuts.
- 1:30:54No. My nephews would love that.
- 1:30:58Our nephews would love that. Yeah, and I don't like that
- 1:31:02those are the only jokes that they find funny these days.
- 1:31:04I'm not doing it. I'm not.
- 1:31:06I refuse gonna need a code red for this one or code red
- 1:31:13something like code red. Yeah I was gonna say this is a
- 1:31:17code red. This is a code red.
- 1:31:20Yeah, like tiny sex Mountain Dew.
- 1:31:25This is a code red. Mountain Dew.
- 1:31:28OK, fine. Can we?
- 1:31:30Let's settle. Let's just settle on that, OK?
- 1:31:32I'm we've been talking about this for.
- 1:31:34Too long, Yeah. So, OK, well, all right then.
- 1:31:38I guess that means it's time for reviews.
- 1:31:40OK, let's see if I got any. Yeah, you didn't post it very
- 1:31:44quickly. You need to do it Internet
- 1:31:47review first. Though Yeah, you're right.
- 1:31:49Well, I do have that ready. So I pulled a review on IMDb.
- 1:31:53It is a four out of 10. Just an average zombie movie, so
- 1:31:59they say. Wanted to wanted so much to
- 1:32:02really like it but the movie just came up short.
- 1:32:06Zombieland is about a kid who's trying to survive in an
- 1:32:09apocalyptic world destroyed by zombies.
- 1:32:12He even creates a list of zombie rules to follow in order to
- 1:32:16better survive. The acting was fine and the
- 1:32:18direction was above average. The special effects weren't
- 1:32:21excessive and there was very little ADD crap which I really
- 1:32:25liked, but I couldn't get over where.
- 1:32:27The plot holes and logic problems.
- 1:32:29The first list I can chalk I can just chalk up to character
- 1:32:33stupidity, which is hard to do considering the movie is about a
- 1:32:37logical list of zombie roles one should follow.
- 1:32:40One, the girls abandoning the two main characters in the
- 1:32:43zombie destroyed neighborhood. 2.
- 1:32:46Unintentionally setting up Bill Murray to be shot. 3.
- 1:32:51Going to an amusement park and attracting zombies for miles
- 1:32:53around. The main thing I couldn't get
- 1:32:55over was how the two girls managed to ride the amusement
- 1:32:58park rides without an operator on the ground.
- 1:33:00If it's possible to do that, please somebody chime in and
- 1:33:04I'll give Zombieland a couple more stars.
- 1:33:07All in all, Zombieland is worth watching if you got nothing
- 1:33:09better to do, but don't expect much.
- 1:33:13So, yeah, I mean, some people can't drop.
- 1:33:17Like, even though we're in a fictitious world where zombies
- 1:33:20rule, this is a zombie land, not an actual world.
- 1:33:23Yeah, so. But you know, if it isn't
- 1:33:27grounded in certain aspects, some people can't let that go.
- 1:33:31I don't know. I don't have a Finn issue with
- 1:33:33that so much. It's one of those that like,
- 1:33:36this wasn't meant to be a super grounded zombie movie.
- 1:33:39You know, there are plenty of those out there.
- 1:33:42This is meant to be a more fun zombie movie.
- 1:33:43And sometimes to do that you have to just like.
- 1:33:47It's gonna like, go spend. Reality.
- 1:33:49Yeah, like it. Just accept it for what it is.
- 1:33:52That's most movies, yeah, for me, honestly, a lot of movies do
- 1:33:55that, so. If you start picking apart
- 1:33:57movies like this, you're just never gonna have fun watching
- 1:33:59movies. You're sad.
- 1:34:02Yeah. I just don't, I don't know, like
- 1:34:07a movie that's just like 100% grounded.
- 1:34:09It can be fun. But if it's a zombie movie where
- 1:34:12like shit's already wacky to begin with, you know, you don't
- 1:34:16have to keep it super grounded. Like, I'm willing to go on that
- 1:34:19ride. I'm already there.
- 1:34:20I've already suspended enough disbelief because we're in like
- 1:34:24a fictitious world already. So it doesn't bother me.
- 1:34:28But you know, some people have their own things and I respect
- 1:34:32that. So I did these reviews a little
- 1:34:36late, and I don't have any. I have one thing that was on
- 1:34:42Instagram and it was from your sister Morgan.
- 1:34:47It says yes. Gonna eat all the Twinkies.
- 1:34:49Yay. I'm glad you get to because
- 1:34:54Woody Harrelson does not get to because he's vegan.
- 1:34:57Yeah. Tom.
- 1:34:58Has he gets a Twinkie? Yeah.
- 1:35:00So, yeah, that's about it though.
- 1:35:03So yeah, going forward, by the way, it's no longer Twitter
- 1:35:07reviews. We're not really doing Twitter
- 1:35:09anymore. It's going to be moving over to
- 1:35:11Blue Sky. Yeah.
- 1:35:12So I put out a call reviews there, just didn't have enough
- 1:35:16time to get anybody really to get a review dropped but.
- 1:35:19Blue Sky no longer requires a code to join if that's been
- 1:35:23putting you off from doing it. The functionality is very, very
- 1:35:26similar to Twitter. We don't have the polls option,
- 1:35:29so polls are primarily just going to be on Instagram and.
- 1:35:33Spotify, I'll start throwing them on my spot.
- 1:35:36Yeah, so that's where you're gonna see those more often now.
- 1:35:43But yeah, like Blue Sky is pretty great.
- 1:35:46It's a. It's not too steep a learning
- 1:35:47curve. It's the guy that originally
- 1:35:49created Twitter that made that. OK, I didn't know that.
- 1:35:52Well, that makes. Sense why it's so similar yeah.
- 1:35:54So yeah, I mean for obvious reasons we've hopped over from
- 1:35:58yeah Twitter over to Blue sky. So I'm sorry for those of you
- 1:36:01that are over on Twitter. We like you guys.
- 1:36:05Yeah. We really have enjoyed the
- 1:36:07community that we built over there.
- 1:36:08It really does mean a lot to us. And this isn't anything against
- 1:36:11the people that we specifically regularly interact with.
- 1:36:15It's just the platform as a whole we no longer really want
- 1:36:18to engage in. So we're gonna leave it up for
- 1:36:20now. And just so that way, there are
- 1:36:23still things that people can see, like from our past stuff.
- 1:36:27They can still DM us on there. We'll still see those, but we're
- 1:36:30probably not really going to be posting there very often.
- 1:36:32So if you want some of the same kind of content that we're doing
- 1:36:34it there, hop on over to Blue Sky, which is still a least fav
- 1:36:38pod. Also, we're on Instagram and
- 1:36:40Threads at least. Favorite scamming podcast?
- 1:36:42Threads, I feel like we need to have a better presence there too
- 1:36:45because we can do polls on there.
- 1:36:47OK, so maybe that's where I'll start taking that poll.
- 1:36:50Yeah. So that's, yeah, that's the
- 1:36:54state of that for right now. Yeah, I'm, I'm actually happy
- 1:36:59about it. I'm looking forward to it.
- 1:37:01I mean, it sucks that we're losing some people from Twitter,
