- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, welcome to another episode of Eating While Broke.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I'm your host, Colleen Witt, and today we have a
- 0:06Speaker 1: very special guest, and Naya love Note is in the building.
- 0:09Speaker 2: You guys may know her from her.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Music because she is a recording artist hailing all the
- 0:15Speaker 1: way from Texas. Yes, which is different because when you
- 0:18Speaker 1: think Texas, you think Beyonce.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, but she ain't the only one coming
- 0:23Speaker 2: out of Texas, not at all, not at all.
- 0:46Speaker 1: But before we get into all the behind the scenes
- 0:50Speaker 1: of what made a Naya love Note, let's talk about
- 0:55Speaker 1: what you're gonna have me eating today.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Oh honey, Okay, So I call it Mama's cooking. Okay,
- 1:01Speaker 3: because that's that's what I got it from my mama,
- 1:04Speaker 3: and you're not taking credit. So we gonna make Mama's
- 1:07Speaker 3: nachos today. We got the preference meat that you chose,
- 1:12Speaker 3: brown turkey. I love it. I've been working really hard
- 1:15Speaker 3: to be more healthy anyways, Okay, I love that you
- 1:19Speaker 3: really chose that.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Really? Yes, I'm allergic to red meat really yeah? What yeah?
- 1:25Speaker 3: So I guess you've never had anything with red meat.
- 1:29Speaker 2: No, I did.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I abused it for years and then I finally said,
- 1:33Speaker 1: I got to listen to the doctors. So I went
- 1:35Speaker 1: like ten years allergically eating red meat and getting sick,
- 1:38Speaker 1: and then I finally said, co grow up.
- 1:41Speaker 3: See, well give it up because red meat is already
- 1:43Speaker 3: unhealthy as it is, and you're allergic to it, so
- 1:46Speaker 3: that's like ten.
- 1:47Speaker 1: It's actually harder for the body to digest. Seriously, yes,
- 1:51Speaker 1: so because you're allergic, Well it could be that or
- 1:54Speaker 1: but it's funny because I was I switched to pork
- 1:57Speaker 1: and chicken.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I was like pork's white meat.
- 1:59Speaker 1: But recently I realized I'm now allergic to pork, so
- 2:02Speaker 1: I'm heartbroken.
- 2:03Speaker 2: So there's no more ribs my future.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And you know, the older, you know more, you respect
- 2:09Speaker 1: like your body, your body's needs and commands.
- 2:12Speaker 2: So now no, no more red meat.
- 2:14Speaker 3: It definitely does start speaking up as you get older.
- 2:16Speaker 3: And we got the meat right here, we got the
- 2:19Speaker 3: about Vita cheese block. This is my favorite mild. I
- 2:24Speaker 3: chose mild because it definitely gaves like a little spice
- 2:26Speaker 3: to it instead of it just being like a regular flavor.
- 2:28Speaker 2: That's like a chili sauce.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Ok.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yeah, And then of course the Texas chips, and then
- 2:33Speaker 3: we'll get to the seasons when we.
- 2:35Speaker 2: And then I see almond milk too.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Yes, I drink nothing about almond milk one because I
- 2:39Speaker 3: am lactose intolerant.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Okay, so wait, is velvet the cheese not?
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm like you, I just.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Okay, okay, okay, you ain't supposed to okay, okay, whoever's
- 2:52Speaker 1: riding back in the clover.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yeah, look I did good by doing the almond meal.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but you know what this Can it be
- 3:00Speaker 1: real cheese because it was sitting on a shelf.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah that's what I thought, because you know, real cheese
- 3:06Speaker 3: with rest has to be refrigerating it is.
- 3:08Speaker 1: So this can't be you know, I might, I might
- 3:10Speaker 1: get on the hook with Okay, okay, okay, I will say.
- 3:14Speaker 1: The price egg on this dish came out to like
- 3:17Speaker 1: thirty bucks or twenty bucks or something like that, which
- 3:20Speaker 1: would be considered pricier, but technically it's not because of
- 3:24Speaker 1: the serving size.
- 3:25Speaker 2: So well budgeted. Kudos to your mama.
- 3:29Speaker 1: So before you, well, I guess while you're getting cooking,
- 3:32Speaker 1: I want to know what was going on during the
- 3:36Speaker 1: time of the mama's nachos.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, So you know, should I start cooking.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Now, yeah, you can start getting a kitchen.
- 3:43Speaker 3: So honestly, my foster mom, she's actually my foster mother.
- 3:47Speaker 3: And when I was in middle school, because she got
- 3:51Speaker 3: me when I was fourteen years old. By the time
- 3:54Speaker 3: I got to her home, I just could eat through anything.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I just would eat, eat, eat, eat, eat your seat
- 4:01Speaker 3: tiny big, that's what she would say. And I'd be like, mom, like,
- 4:05Speaker 3: I'm not gaining any weight. And she started making these
- 4:10Speaker 3: nachos and I just would It's so crazy. They would
- 4:13Speaker 3: call me like the human disposal in the house. So
- 4:16Speaker 3: I would eat like my nachos. If my sister didn't
- 4:20Speaker 3: finish her nachos, I eat her nachos. I'd eat the
- 4:22Speaker 3: pot nachos. And I just love these nachos so much,
- 4:26Speaker 3: to the point where by time I had to have
- 4:28Speaker 3: like a actual cooking schedule in the house because everybody
- 4:33Speaker 3: had to learn how to cook. I had this downpack.
- 4:35Speaker 3: My mom won't even let me cook it no more.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Oh wow, I would just eat it all the time.
- 4:39Speaker 1: What's interesting, a lot of our listeners don't know this.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Not trying to chime into your story, but trying to
- 4:45Speaker 1: chime in your mom. I think was the first person
- 4:49Speaker 1: to hit me on the DM.
- 4:50Speaker 3: So that was actually my biological So my foster mother
- 4:56Speaker 3: is the one who lives in Texas, and then my
- 4:58Speaker 3: biological mother she lives in Saint Louis. So my biological
- 5:01Speaker 3: mother she helps me out with my career sometimes because
- 5:04Speaker 3: she is also a female artist herself. Okay, kind of
- 5:08Speaker 3: where I got her from.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Wow, so you do have a good relationship with your biological.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I have a good relationship with both of them.
- 5:16Speaker 2: And there's no beef between the two moms.
- 5:19Speaker 3: At first, when I was younger, it kind of was
- 5:22Speaker 3: because my mom. When I first found my mom, I
- 5:25Speaker 3: found my mom on my Space. That's actually how I
- 5:29Speaker 3: found my mother. You're biological m I found my mama
- 5:32Speaker 3: my Space. And I remember, like in high school, I
- 5:36Speaker 3: was a freshman and I got on my Space and
- 5:39Speaker 3: I just DMed all of her friends because she took
- 5:42Speaker 3: too long to see my message. So I went on
- 5:45Speaker 3: there and I was like, Hey, I'm her daughter. I've
- 5:47Speaker 3: been looking for her, can you please call me.
- 5:50Speaker 2: You know that she was your mom because I've.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Had her when I was I mean i've had her.
- 5:55Speaker 3: She had me before I got taken, So I knew
- 5:58Speaker 3: my family before I was placed in care, so I
- 6:01Speaker 3: found her on my Space. And when I did find
- 6:05Speaker 3: my mom and I finally got in contact with her,
- 6:08Speaker 3: technically it was illegal because the state didn't know about
- 6:12Speaker 3: it and I was still in care of this at
- 6:14Speaker 3: the time, so I had to have a judge actually
- 6:17Speaker 3: okay to me to talk to my mother at the time.
- 6:21Speaker 3: And when she finally found out, she didn't really like
- 6:25Speaker 3: my foster mother that much.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Were you reaching out to your mom because you missed her,
- 6:29Speaker 1: or were you reaching out to were you beefing with
- 6:32Speaker 1: the foster mom.
- 6:33Speaker 3: I reached out to her because I missed her. I
- 6:35Speaker 3: always wanted to know my family. I actually got taken
- 6:37Speaker 3: at five years old, so I didn't have my mom,
- 6:41Speaker 3: my dad, no cousin's, no aunties, just like foster home shelters,
- 6:44Speaker 3: group homes, foster home shelters, group homes all the way
- 6:47Speaker 3: till I was like eighteen.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Do you know why you were taken?
- 6:51Speaker 3: Yes?
- 6:51Speaker 1: I do. Are you are you able to say without
- 6:54Speaker 1: making family members?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Oh?
- 6:57Speaker 3: Yeah, So when I was younger, I don't know. I
- 7:01Speaker 3: don't drink alcohol for a reason. I come from a
- 7:06Speaker 3: background of alcoholics in a way. My grandmother, she was
- 7:11Speaker 3: an alcoholic, and my great grandmother was an alcoholic, and
- 7:17Speaker 3: so I would see what that would do to people
- 7:19Speaker 3: when they would drink alcohol. And for me, as a
- 7:23Speaker 3: young kid, I would get whoopings a lot. And I
- 7:26Speaker 3: went to school one day and I the teacher saw
- 7:30Speaker 3: a bruise on my back and she asked me. She
- 7:33Speaker 3: was like, are you getting whoopings? Are you getting beatens
- 7:36Speaker 3: at home? And she put it in the same sentence.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And at the time, I had to be like four
- 7:42Speaker 3: going on five at this time. I was like, yes,
- 7:46Speaker 3: but you know, please don't pull anyone. But when I
- 7:49Speaker 3: hear the word whoopins as a kid and then you
- 7:52Speaker 3: put beaten with it, it just sounds the same in
- 7:55Speaker 3: a way. So that same day, CPS actually came to
- 7:59Speaker 3: my house and took us away. Wow.
- 8:02Speaker 2: So they took all of you guys.
- 8:04Speaker 3: You have siblings, wow, all of us, Me and my
- 8:07Speaker 3: two sisters. Wow. And it kind of was like, like
- 8:13Speaker 3: my grandmother kind of blamed me, but I was being
- 8:16Speaker 3: placed in cares. But I've definitely coming so young. Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 3: I've definitely come to a conclusion now that I'm older,
- 8:23Speaker 3: like that, you know, it was it wasn't me, But
- 8:27Speaker 3: back then it was just like, dang, Like what did
- 8:31Speaker 3: I do?
- 8:32Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 8:32Speaker 1: I I grew up in upstate New York, and I
- 8:35Speaker 1: grew up in child of definitely child abuse for sure, beatings, whoopings,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and all of the above. But that the teachers and
- 8:43Speaker 1: everybody they would call CPS and CPS started getting a
- 8:47Speaker 1: bad rep of me and my siblings because it was
- 8:48Speaker 1: like y'all ain't saving us at all, And it's it's
- 8:52Speaker 1: crazy to hear that in your story.
- 8:54Speaker 2: They like snatched you all up so fast.
- 8:56Speaker 3: They take kids very quickly, like they instantly go when
- 9:02Speaker 3: it's teenagers. They don't come to a quick hurry. So
- 9:06Speaker 3: like I was four going on five, my little sister Brianna,
- 9:10Speaker 3: she was like two going on three, and my oldest sister, Latrice,
- 9:15Speaker 3: she was about six years old, and so all of
- 9:18Speaker 3: us was just wase and we all been away from
- 9:23Speaker 3: our family since then. So when I did find my mom,
- 9:26Speaker 3: it was just felt it just felt like I found
- 9:29Speaker 3: a part of me that I had not had for
- 9:32Speaker 3: my whole life.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Wow, so you were gone for what over almost ten
- 9:36Speaker 1: years away from her before you found her.
- 9:39Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 9:40Speaker 3: And then I found my little brother on Facebook. I
- 9:42Speaker 3: found my little sister on Facebook. I've always had my
- 9:46Speaker 3: oldest sister and then the other two. I actually got
- 9:50Speaker 3: to get in contact them once I talked to my mom.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Wow, what was your mom's initial reaction when she heard
- 9:55Speaker 2: from you?
- 9:56Speaker 3: She was so excited She's actually cried. She's like, I've
- 10:01Speaker 3: been looking for you my whole life. Like, I'm so excited.
- 10:04Speaker 3: How old you? How old are you now? Like just
- 10:07Speaker 3: like typical questions that a mom would ask. I think
- 10:10Speaker 3: when I was younger, I was more closer to my mom,
- 10:13Speaker 3: and then my sister she was closer to my grandparents.
- 10:16Speaker 3: So when I found my mom, it was more like
- 10:19Speaker 3: I was excited because I found my mom. My older
- 10:21Speaker 3: sister she wasn't really like around for it, so.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Was she does do all your siblings have a good
- 10:27Speaker 1: relationship with your mom now?
- 10:30Speaker 3: It's do you know?
- 10:31Speaker 4: We all are still too. We all have a great
- 10:39Speaker 4: relationship with my our mom now.
- 10:41Speaker 3: But because now that we're adults, we're going into that
- 10:45Speaker 3: phase where it's like we're adults now getting advice and stuff.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Sometimes is like, no, not thinking because I kind of
- 10:52Speaker 3: know myself now at this point. But for me, again,
- 10:55Speaker 3: I've always been closest to my mom. So I'm still
- 10:58Speaker 3: like Mama's baby still to this day. But I think
- 11:02Speaker 3: that's just because I share more in common with my
- 11:04Speaker 3: mom than the rest of my siblings.
- 11:06Speaker 2: In the music. Now does your mom rap?
- 11:09Speaker 3: Yes, she's a female rapper. She says, she be singing,
- 11:14Speaker 3: but Mama, you can't sing. Oh, she like Drake.
- 11:17Speaker 2: It's like I can't stand when Drake sings.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I love Drake's rap book, Please God, Please, I ain't
- 11:24Speaker 1: singing Drake.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Sometimes, Drake, sometimes you hit it with the note, and
- 11:28Speaker 3: then sometimes I'm like, you could have just wrapped that
- 11:30Speaker 3: dude anytime.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You know, when he does his records like split, I
- 11:34Speaker 1: don't even I won't even entertain the singing version.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I actually used to love his when he redid Jojo
- 11:41Speaker 3: Marvin's Room and he was trying to sing that one.
- 11:44Speaker 3: It actually came out really great compared to what I
- 11:48Speaker 3: thought it would at his singing days. When he left
- 11:51Speaker 3: the Grassy.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Okay, I never watched him on the Grassy me.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Either, Sorry, Drake, I didn't know you to have to digress.
- 12:00Speaker 3: I actually got to meet Drake, so too Short introduced
- 12:04Speaker 3: me to Drake, and we were at Poppies and Drake goes,
- 12:08Speaker 3: this is my idol right here. If he say clear
- 12:10Speaker 3: everybody out, everybody got to get out. I don't care.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I'm clearing out this whole club. Whatever this man say
- 12:16Speaker 3: is whatever goes too short, too short. It's his idol,
- 12:21Speaker 3: the man he looks up to his whole life. That's
- 12:24Speaker 3: what Drake says. Yes, and the way.
- 12:27Speaker 5: That I do.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Yes, I'm not knocking on too short, but Drake really, But.
- 12:31Speaker 3: You know, the way that I met him, for me
- 12:34Speaker 3: to be an artist was amazing because I could have
- 12:36Speaker 3: met him any other way, but to be introduced to
- 12:39Speaker 3: him by his idol as an artist, it was like, Wow,
- 12:43Speaker 3: that's a lot of respect. Instead of meeting him like
- 12:46Speaker 3: in the club. Hey, yeah, so I thought I was
- 12:48Speaker 3: like pretty dope.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds pretty dope, y'all. I love Drake.
- 12:55Speaker 3: The only way I'm gonna see him again is if
- 12:57Speaker 3: I go to one of his concerts. While the brawls
- 12:59Speaker 3: can toss thumbs hilarious, you know, I'm gonna have to
- 13:02Speaker 3: catch one of them because I heard he give me
- 13:04Speaker 3: out burning bags.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Too, really at his show.
- 13:06Speaker 3: He just posted it. He gave me out pink burning
- 13:08Speaker 3: bags at his show. Drake, I look save one of
- 13:12Speaker 3: them burning bags, just put it on the shelf, don't
- 13:14Speaker 3: worry about it.
- 13:16Speaker 1: So from the okay, so you start making this dish
- 13:20Speaker 1: with your foster my foster mom.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Your foster mom, okay.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And she had other foster children, but she just she
- 13:29Speaker 1: didn't house any of your siblings.
- 13:30Speaker 3: She ended up taking my oldest sister in My older
- 13:35Speaker 3: sister ended up being in foster care with one of
- 13:37Speaker 3: her family members at the time, and I was like, mom, please,
- 13:44Speaker 3: like please, please, please take my sister. I don't want
- 13:47Speaker 3: to be by myself. Yeah, And I was fourteen by
- 13:50Speaker 3: the time she got us. And then my sister was
- 13:52Speaker 3: like seventeen years old, and foster homes don't take teenagers,
- 13:56Speaker 3: and it wasn't a lot of foster homes that my
- 13:58Speaker 3: sister could go to the more she got older, So
- 14:01Speaker 3: she ended up taking my older sister and so she
- 14:03Speaker 3: could be with me. And then when I found my
- 14:05Speaker 3: little sister, she ended up allowing my little sister to
- 14:09Speaker 3: come and stay as well. So I actually got to
- 14:12Speaker 3: have my siblings after high school.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:16Speaker 1: And it's interesting because you call her mom. Yes, was
- 14:21Speaker 1: that a hard hurdle for you because you said you
- 14:23Speaker 1: didn't get to her till what fourteen?
- 14:25Speaker 3: Right? Yeah? So when I got there, I used to
- 14:29Speaker 3: we would call her by her name, which would be
- 14:31Speaker 3: Mama Ray, and then eventually it just became mom. I
- 14:36Speaker 3: was with her all the way, so I was grown
- 14:39Speaker 3: and still to this day like that's Mom. I would
- 14:42Speaker 3: call her and my I need advice with this, or Mom,
- 14:45Speaker 3: I need help with this, and that's that's my go to.
- 14:49Speaker 3: It's my mom.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Wow, Okay, Okay, that's that's that's cool. That's cool.
- 14:55Speaker 3: But I do the same thing to my biological mom too.
- 14:57Speaker 2: So do you let them know that you get a
- 14:59Speaker 2: pai from each other?
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, yeah, they know each other. They're like now
- 15:04Speaker 3: they're cool with each other, you know. They my mom
- 15:08Speaker 3: will ask about Mama Ray a lot, and Mama Ray
- 15:10Speaker 3: will ask about my mom. So it's more like our girls.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, like that now. I like that. And then
- 15:18Speaker 2: as far as.
- 15:19Speaker 1: The addiction on this in your family, has it like
- 15:22Speaker 1: subsided or yeah?
- 15:24Speaker 3: Honestly, I just found my biological family. I got to
- 15:28Speaker 3: meet my aunts, my cousins, and they gave me so
- 15:32Speaker 3: much insight on my background and where I come from
- 15:35Speaker 3: and a lot of things that our family struggled, which
- 15:38Speaker 3: was like alcohol abuse at the time. So a lot
- 15:41Speaker 3: of my family member isn't alive, to be honest with you,
- 15:45Speaker 3: But me, I've never had to drop an alcoholic day
- 15:47Speaker 3: in my life.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Good and you're gonna keep it that way?
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yes, I am.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I just got my husband is a alcohol alcoholic
- 15:57Speaker 1: and recovery or what have you. And I'm just now
- 16:00Speaker 1: like it took me, Like it's so hard for me
- 16:04Speaker 1: to understand the concept of it because for me, it's
- 16:07Speaker 1: not the most logical concept. I'm like, wait, you're gonna
- 16:11Speaker 1: just drink all day? Yeah, you're you know, like logically
- 16:16Speaker 1: it doesn't make sense. But now I'm starting to understand
- 16:18Speaker 1: like addiction is because it feels real to them. It's
- 16:21Speaker 1: like I love this or I like this and I
- 16:23Speaker 1: know I get sick without it or what have you.
- 16:26Speaker 3: It's a dangerous situation because if they can't identify that
- 16:30Speaker 3: they have an issue, it definitely can turn into a
- 16:33Speaker 3: generational situation. And I think I was the one who
- 16:39Speaker 3: identified the issue in my family. We decided to change
- 16:42Speaker 3: the generational.
- 16:44Speaker 2: So they weren't like living in denial.
- 16:46Speaker 3: So like my sister, my older sister, she doesn't drink.
- 16:49Speaker 3: I don't drink. My little sister she doesn't drink. A mom,
- 16:53Speaker 3: she doesn't drink. Wow, we all decided we was just
- 16:56Speaker 3: not gonna.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Oh, your mom didn't drink. She never drank.
- 17:00Speaker 3: She did when she was like younger, but she doesn't
- 17:02Speaker 3: drink at all like now, so.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Awesome, awesome, I like that. I like that.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So let's get past this little bump and get onto
- 17:10Speaker 1: the next chapter. What was the next milestone from Nachos
- 17:15Speaker 1: heading towards your career?
- 17:18Speaker 3: Honestly, I just always knew I was gonna be something
- 17:22Speaker 3: or someone, and I would tell my foster mom all
- 17:27Speaker 3: the time, I just need to leave home, like I
- 17:30Speaker 3: just would like to leave home. I know if I
- 17:33Speaker 3: leave then I'm gonna make it. And at the time,
- 17:38Speaker 3: I could not keep a job. Every job that I
- 17:41Speaker 3: had I just kept losing, Like I just could not
- 17:44Speaker 3: hold down a nine to five job at all. School.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I wasn't doing that great in school either, and I
- 17:52Speaker 3: just felt like this is not for me, Like I
- 17:55Speaker 3: have to leave Austin. There's nothing any here for me.
- 17:59Speaker 3: And after I lost my job at foot like at
- 18:02Speaker 3: City Trends, my mom picked me up and I had
- 18:05Speaker 3: got the opportunity to actually go to Atlanta, and I
- 18:09Speaker 3: told her. I said, I looked her in the car.
- 18:11Speaker 3: We were sitting in the car and I looked her
- 18:12Speaker 3: in the face and I said, Mom, I'm leaving, And
- 18:15Speaker 3: she said, where are you going? I said, to Atlanta?
- 18:17Speaker 3: And I said, I just need you to trust that
- 18:20Speaker 3: this decision is going to be great. And when I
- 18:22Speaker 3: just know, like, if I leave, Mama, I'm gonna make it.
- 18:25Speaker 3: And she's like, I just want you to be happy
- 18:27Speaker 3: and stabled, and whatever you choose to do, you know
- 18:31Speaker 3: I'm going to support you. And I never looked back
- 18:33Speaker 3: since I haven't been back home in ten years.
- 18:35Speaker 2: And what age were you?
- 18:37Speaker 3: I left when I was twenty one.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Twenty one, and but knowing you were twenty one, you
- 18:42Speaker 2: knew exactly you were going to go into music.
- 18:44Speaker 3: But my mom, my biologic mom was big on me
- 18:47Speaker 3: finishing school, so I wanted to get an education before
- 18:51Speaker 3: I decided that this is going to be whatever I do.
- 18:55Speaker 3: And it worked out for me.
- 18:58Speaker 2: So you went to college or.
- 19:00Speaker 3: So I started off in college and after I did
- 19:03Speaker 3: my first year, I got the opportunity to up and
- 19:05Speaker 3: move to Atlanta. Okay, okay, wait, so this is this.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Is my mess up? Guys, here we go, Here we go,
- 19:12Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I'm like, is this on your powdery?
- 19:15Speaker 5: No?
- 19:15Speaker 2: No, that's all purpose seasoning. I think this is all purpose.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Look I just shopping for the show, but I was.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I don't I love how you called it out, Like
- 19:26Speaker 2: what is this? Wait a minute before my.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Disch start tasting a little funny?
- 19:30Speaker 2: Okay, okay, sorry, my bad.
- 19:32Speaker 3: We're gonna we're gonna hilarious this right here. Yeah, we're gonna.
- 19:37Speaker 1: We're gonna have to MANI The situation at Walmart was like, look,
- 19:40Speaker 1: this is technically all purpose.
- 19:41Speaker 3: I said. All purpose comes in like the little red bottle.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I know, but they didn't have any more of that bottle.
- 19:49Speaker 2: So she was like, this will do. And I said okay.
- 19:51Speaker 1: And then here you are Anaya calling me out like
- 19:54Speaker 1: what is this?
- 19:55Speaker 3: What is this? Those she I you know? I should
- 20:01Speaker 3: have to try it?
- 20:03Speaker 2: Just try it, try it.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Try My mom edited the secret ingredients.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Okay, we'll put all purpose in the cookbook with.
- 20:13Speaker 3: The red lid, with the red lid. Gotta get that.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Okay, So you put onion, powdered garlic powder, all purpose seasoning.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Tony's creole and.
- 20:24Speaker 3: And then I just mix it.
- 20:25Speaker 2: And then you are mixing it.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Okay, okay, So my mom she always say the best
- 20:31Speaker 3: way to get all the seasonal off the plate is
- 20:34Speaker 3: to use your hands and the meat. So as you
- 20:37Speaker 3: can see, there is no seasoning on this plate, which.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Is there is what I'm not going for. But now
- 20:45Speaker 2: I I already know we're gonna end up going to
- 20:48Speaker 2: commercial because you're gonna have to wash your hands after
- 20:50Speaker 2: this exactly.
- 20:51Speaker 3: But your hands clean by the way I washed them before.
- 20:59Speaker 2: So I'm sorry we got so off track. Where did
- 21:02Speaker 2: we leave from? Where did we leave?
- 21:05Speaker 1: Oh?
- 21:05Speaker 5: You? Oh?
- 21:06Speaker 1: I wanted to know when you said you had an
- 21:08Speaker 1: opportunity in Atlanta? What opportunity were you referring to.
- 21:13Speaker 3: So I met this artist and he needed a PR
- 21:16Speaker 3: at the time. Now, funny thing is, I didn't know
- 21:18Speaker 3: anything about PR. I just knew it was the opportunity
- 21:21Speaker 3: for me to leave home.
- 21:22Speaker 2: How did he find you?
- 21:23Speaker 3: So we have south By Southwest in Austin, and then
- 21:27Speaker 3: he came down as an artist to perform for south
- 21:30Speaker 3: By And when we met, I was telling him like, oh, yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 3: I do this, I do that. He's like, well, you know,
- 21:37Speaker 3: I'm looking for a PR. I figure, I was just
- 21:40Speaker 3: going to.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Everything, get a limits here, here we go.
- 21:47Speaker 3: He was like, you know I need a PR, so
- 21:50Speaker 3: you know you should come work for me. You can
- 21:52Speaker 3: stay with me, blah blah blah. Let me just say this,
- 21:55Speaker 3: that was the worst decision I ever met. I a
- 21:59Speaker 3: day in my life due to the circumstances of it.
- 22:03Speaker 3: But I still don't change the fact that I used
- 22:06Speaker 3: that as a way to get where I was going.
- 22:07Speaker 2: So why did he assume that you did PR?
- 22:10Speaker 3: Because I was working at the time for south By Southwest,
- 22:14Speaker 3: so I had like the little like badgets and stuff
- 22:17Speaker 3: on there. And I was working in the studio for
- 22:19Speaker 3: other artists at the time as well. So he was like, oh,
- 22:22Speaker 3: just be my PR. And I was like, oh, okay.
- 22:26Speaker 5: It.
- 22:28Speaker 2: And so did he like give you money up front
- 22:31Speaker 2: or actually no?
- 22:32Speaker 3: So I ended up moving to Atlanta only for him
- 22:36Speaker 3: to try to prostitute me. Yeah, so I moved to Atlanta.
- 22:40Speaker 3: He ended up taking a deal in Miami and moving
- 22:44Speaker 3: to Miami, but he tricked me and had his friend there,
- 22:47Speaker 3: which was like his brother, and he was like, well,
- 22:50Speaker 3: you guys are going to take over my apartment. And
- 22:53Speaker 3: I was like what like, what do you mean I'm
- 22:56Speaker 3: going to take over your apartment? You just told me
- 22:58Speaker 3: you what's going on? And so he's like, well, you
- 23:01Speaker 3: guys are gonna split. It happened half. You need to
- 23:03Speaker 3: get a job, you know. He was like, you need
- 23:06Speaker 3: to go apply at the strip clubs and all this
- 23:08Speaker 3: other stuff. And he had this one girl strip club. Yeah,
- 23:11Speaker 3: he wanted me to work at the strip club. He
- 23:13Speaker 3: had this one shorty that lived with him named Barbie
- 23:16Speaker 3: and she was already a stripper at the time. So
- 23:20Speaker 3: I was like, oh, no, she lived there.
- 23:22Speaker 2: That was and there's a brother, oh and that was
- 23:27Speaker 2: her dude. Yeah, and then but I.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Didn't know, so he was like a d I found
- 23:32Speaker 3: out that he was pimping. And when I got there
- 23:35Speaker 3: before that, I didn't know.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Did you mama?
- 23:51Speaker 3: So I did. I let my mom know, but I
- 23:53Speaker 3: didn't let her know, yeah, because I did not want
- 23:57Speaker 3: her freaking out and there exactly and she's gonna be like, well,
- 24:01Speaker 3: I don't think you know. I didn't want none of that.
- 24:04Speaker 3: So what I ended up doing is I end up
- 24:06Speaker 3: getting a job at what Willie's, which was a it
- 24:11Speaker 3: was a waitressing restaurant whatever, and he put me on
- 24:18Speaker 3: this site called Backpage.
- 24:21Speaker 2: And I I think I know what that is. It's
- 24:25Speaker 2: know what it is. It's like.
- 24:29Speaker 3: I didn't even know what that was at the time.
- 24:32Speaker 3: My phone is ringing of me on there, and my
- 24:37Speaker 3: phone is going off and all these men are like, hey,
- 24:40Speaker 3: how much do you offer? I saw your ad and
- 24:42Speaker 3: I'm like, what ad are you talking about? Like, I
- 24:44Speaker 3: don't even know what you're talking about. I'm in the
- 24:46Speaker 3: uber on my way to work and the uber driver
- 24:48Speaker 3: tells me you're on back Page and I'm.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Like what, How did he?
- 24:53Speaker 3: Because I'm on the phone, they say it to my
- 24:55Speaker 3: friend and I'm like, I don't understand what this is.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Like it says something that backpage. And I asked one
- 25:00Speaker 3: of the guys who DMed me and was like, oh,
- 25:03Speaker 3: where did you find this ad? He was like, You're
- 25:06Speaker 3: on Backpage and I was like, what is that? And
- 25:08Speaker 3: so he commonly enough before he blocked my number, he
- 25:11Speaker 3: kindly enough told me what it was. I looked it up.
- 25:13Speaker 3: There was several pictures of me on there, with my
- 25:17Speaker 3: address where I was staying, with my phone number on there,
- 25:20Speaker 3: where I worked at. Everything on there was like in
- 25:23Speaker 3: detail of it was like a real dangerous situation. But
- 25:27Speaker 3: when I read it, you could tell that Barbie is
- 25:30Speaker 3: the one who wrote it out for him. So I
- 25:33Speaker 3: was like, you know what, when I see her, it's
- 25:34Speaker 3: on sight because I really tried to be your friend.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Yeah, you tried to It sounds well, it sounds like
- 25:40Speaker 1: she also tried to get you hurt, because I don't
- 25:43Speaker 1: I can't imagine it being I don't know backpage list
- 25:47Speaker 1: addresses and I don't know how it works.
- 25:49Speaker 3: But when yeah problem, I as soon as I saw it,
- 25:55Speaker 3: I broke down because I was just could I just
- 25:57Speaker 3: couldn't stop thinking, I'm new here, I'm freshly new. It's
- 26:01Speaker 3: only my first week in Atlanta. What is something happens
- 26:05Speaker 3: to me?
- 26:05Speaker 5: Like?
- 26:06Speaker 3: There's so many pictures of me on here. He has
- 26:08Speaker 3: the address, my phone number. So long story short, things
- 26:13Speaker 3: didn't work out for him.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Did you end up fighting her?
- 26:15Speaker 3: Oh?
- 26:16Speaker 2: No, she left good, and I'm glad you didn't fight her.
- 26:18Speaker 3: She left and went to Miami.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Oh she went to him.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Yeah, they moved to Miami.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Crazy girl at the time.
- 26:26Speaker 3: So still to this day, I sometimes tell myself, girl,
- 26:30Speaker 3: you know you looky. I'm a change woman. But the
- 26:33Speaker 3: way that God worked in my favor. I ended up
- 26:37Speaker 3: meeting this girl named Kashina and she trained me at work,
- 26:41Speaker 3: and then I went to Target the same day and
- 26:45Speaker 3: I met this guy named Corey. And I'm in Target
- 26:48Speaker 3: and I just got this man laughing, cracking up about
- 26:51Speaker 3: hot sauce, the fact that Target don't sell Louisian hot sauce.
- 26:55Speaker 3: And when he gets home, I guess he told his
- 26:58Speaker 3: wife about me. And I get to work cause Sheina's like,
- 27:02Speaker 3: you know you should come over one day. I'm like, yeah, sure.
- 27:05Speaker 3: When the guy put me out and I had nowhere
- 27:07Speaker 3: to go, I called Kashina and she told me to
- 27:10Speaker 3: come over. Come to find out the man that I
- 27:12Speaker 3: met in Target was her husband.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Oh my god, you met them both like at different times.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Yeah, at the times, I just didn't know that they
- 27:20Speaker 3: were together. So when I got there, Corey comes in
- 27:23Speaker 3: the room and he's like, he's like, Kashina, remember the
- 27:25Speaker 3: girl that I told you you just had to meet,
- 27:27Speaker 3: Like you just would love her, You just need to
- 27:29Speaker 3: meet her, like y'all be such great friends. That's her.
- 27:32Speaker 3: And then he's like it's so crazy because Kashina came
- 27:34Speaker 3: home and was telling Corey, I just met this girl.
- 27:37Speaker 3: She's new at work.
- 27:39Speaker 2: That's what I'm trying to Sorry me, man, this is bad.
- 27:44Speaker 3: You ain't really cooking if you don't get me.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Any lik, It's never badened in the history. Are going see?
- 27:52Speaker 3: She goes Corey, this is the girl that I was
- 27:55Speaker 3: telling you about at work. And I was like, wait,
- 28:01Speaker 3: you told him about me, and he told you about me.
- 28:03Speaker 3: He was like yes, wow, and I was like wow.
- 28:05Speaker 3: And they were very big in church at the time,
- 28:08Speaker 3: so they both was like this is God's doing yea yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 3: because there's just no way.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Every since then, they allowed me to stay there with
- 28:14Speaker 3: them and I had someone to stay. I got a job,
- 28:18Speaker 3: got into my own place, and it had not been
- 28:20Speaker 3: for them, I probably would have had to go back home.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Shout outs to them. It's like wow wow.
- 28:26Speaker 1: So after they took you in and you found your
- 28:31Speaker 1: own place, what was the next step to the naya.
- 28:34Speaker 3: The next step was I had joined a promo team
- 28:37Speaker 3: in Atlanta, and that's kind of how I got myself
- 28:39Speaker 3: out there, going to all the right parties. I always
- 28:42Speaker 3: pulled up by myself, so I guess it kind of
- 28:44Speaker 3: made people wonder who I was because the way I
- 28:48Speaker 3: would pull up and I'd just be soul to myself
- 28:50Speaker 3: always in VIP, I had a strict plan, like I
- 28:53Speaker 3: was going to be wherever I needed to be. At
- 28:55Speaker 3: the time, I literally mapped down, Okay, I'm gonna join
- 28:58Speaker 3: a promo team. Okay, cool, I'm far of promot team.
- 29:00Speaker 2: When you say promo team, what does that mean?
- 29:02Speaker 3: So back then, like in twenty fifteen, Atlanta was really
- 29:05Speaker 3: big with promo teams. So like one promoter would have
- 29:09Speaker 3: like ten people in one group meet and they would
- 29:12Speaker 3: all promote one party. And then within that promo group,
- 29:17Speaker 3: there'd be like another promoter who had another ten people
- 29:21Speaker 3: to his group, and then it'd be like thirty people
- 29:24Speaker 3: promoting one party. So now this party is gone viral.
- 29:28Speaker 2: So I don't know if you heard of Country Wayne.
- 29:31Speaker 2: He had he has.
- 29:31Speaker 1: A book and I read, well, of course, I don't
- 29:34Speaker 1: even know why I said that, butok, Country Wayne, Yeah,
- 29:37Speaker 1: he has a book, and I read in his book
- 29:39Speaker 1: that one of his starts was promoting clubs.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and then he would have like.
- 29:45Speaker 1: A girl squad or something something is that how what
- 29:49Speaker 1: you're talking about?
- 29:51Speaker 3: They would literally have all girls. So each group had
- 29:55Speaker 3: their own name, and one promoter would probably have like
- 29:58Speaker 3: ten girls to his group, and then and about maybe
- 30:01Speaker 3: three other guy other promoters, and then that's one group. Yeah,
- 30:04Speaker 3: and then this other group same thing, and then they'll
- 30:07Speaker 3: come together and all promote these one big parties. And
- 30:09Speaker 3: that's how promoters was making them money. Yeah.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I think the first time I ever heard about it
- 30:13Speaker 1: was in the book. I was like, Oh, that's an
- 30:15Speaker 1: interesting approach. It's genius.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Actually have a bunch of beautiful women promote. And if
- 30:20Speaker 2: they did that too, they do it. I don't think
- 30:23Speaker 2: they do it, No, they.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Don't, but if they did, I just feel like things
- 30:27Speaker 3: probably would be a lot more lit.
- 30:29Speaker 1: It definitely would, because I remember reading it in the book,
- 30:32Speaker 1: like it's pretty and genius to think, you know, you.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Really can make money off of it if you learn
- 30:38Speaker 3: how to do it.
- 30:39Speaker 2: So you're promoting and you're a promoter, what are you
- 30:45Speaker 2: doing music wise?
- 30:47Speaker 5: I did.
- 30:48Speaker 3: I was just one of the models for the promote team,
- 30:50Speaker 3: but I still was recording music. So I recorded my
- 30:54Speaker 3: first EP, mixed Villains with Super J who actually.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Was the brother of the guy who was trying to
- 31:01Speaker 1: pross to me. Oh shoot yeah, because he was the
- 31:03Speaker 1: one that was in the house with you.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Yeah. So he was an artist as well, and he
- 31:08Speaker 3: knew how to record produced, right. I didn't know how
- 31:11Speaker 3: to do any of those things at the time, so
- 31:13Speaker 3: he actually taught me. How did it not been for
- 31:14Speaker 3: Super J, I would not have had my first EP?
- 31:17Speaker 1: Okay, Now, when I was a kid, I loved hip hop,
- 31:20Speaker 1: but like I can honestly tell all y'all, everything I
- 31:23Speaker 1: recorded was straight trash.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I mean, it's just I couldn't.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I don't know, my vocals don't sound good on a
- 31:29Speaker 1: beat or something, but it was terrible.
- 31:31Speaker 3: So it sound like you will give me like a
- 31:33Speaker 3: good angie stuff.
- 31:34Speaker 1: No, no, I'm pray to God that any recording that
- 31:38Speaker 1: lines back to me never gets found because all it
- 31:42Speaker 1: is is like something you can literally make fun of
- 31:44Speaker 1: me for the rest of my life.
- 31:46Speaker 2: So but no, you can't. Thank God. It was like
- 31:51Speaker 2: during the time of CDs. But how did you know?
- 31:56Speaker 1: You were like, Okay, you definitely had something because, like
- 32:00Speaker 1: I said, I was like, girl, you this ain't your career.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I put out my first project and that was actually
- 32:09Speaker 3: my test to see if this was something I needed
- 32:12Speaker 3: to do for the rest of my life. Based off
- 32:14Speaker 3: of the reactions that I got from that, so I
- 32:16Speaker 3: would I made it, then I would perform him and
- 32:19Speaker 3: then just people would just cheer. Like every crowd that
- 32:23Speaker 3: I performed my EP in front of I always had
- 32:26Speaker 3: great feedback. People will come up, Oh my God, like
- 32:29Speaker 3: can I can you perform here? Can you perform here?
- 32:31Speaker 3: I really like music. At that point, I was like, Wow,
- 32:34Speaker 3: this is for me. I did good. But I think
- 32:36Speaker 3: I did really great my first go around because I
- 32:39Speaker 3: had Super J and he was already like a pro
- 32:41Speaker 3: with us, and he was a real singer. So it
- 32:43Speaker 3: just made things happen even faster. Okay, so what's the
- 32:47Speaker 3: next milestone from there? It was like I really wanted
- 32:52Speaker 3: to just like fast forward years in advance because it
- 32:56Speaker 3: really wasn't much besides me performing in Atlanta and getting
- 32:59Speaker 3: my name out there. I ended up moving to LA
- 33:02Speaker 3: and twenty eighteen and I never looked back after that.
- 33:05Speaker 2: In LA I've been to Atlanta.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie, like, if I had to move
- 33:09Speaker 1: to another entertainment market, I would definitely go Atlanta.
- 33:13Speaker 3: Atlanta.
- 33:14Speaker 1: But Atlanta to me is like the suburbs. It's kind
- 33:19Speaker 1: of like upstate New York. To me, it's very like
- 33:23Speaker 1: suburbous to me. I don't know if that's how it
- 33:25Speaker 1: is for everybody. Maybe I'm not hitting the right spots
- 33:27Speaker 1: in Atlanta, but it definitely feels like suburbs. When now
- 33:30Speaker 1: you go to LA, where you're talking to higher price tag,
- 33:33Speaker 1: more competitive market. How was that initial adjudgment adjustment to
- 33:38Speaker 1: LA for you?
- 33:40Speaker 3: I felt like when I moved to La, my price
- 33:43Speaker 3: and then the value of me just went up alone
- 33:46Speaker 3: just by being in LA.
- 33:48Speaker 2: What made you say I'm moving.
- 33:51Speaker 3: I've always put a suther person that wants to conquer everything,
- 33:54Speaker 3: like I would be set a certain amount of time
- 33:56Speaker 3: that I'm going to be here. I always knew Atlanta
- 33:58Speaker 3: was not my final destination, so I just gave myself
- 34:01Speaker 3: a certain period of time that I was gonna be there.
- 34:03Speaker 2: And your moms were like just sitting there watching.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody just watching. I'm quick to be like, you
- 34:09Speaker 3: know what, I feel like I've made my mark in
- 34:11Speaker 3: this city. A lot of people know me, like I've
- 34:15Speaker 3: met who I need to meet. Let me go to
- 34:16Speaker 3: the next city now.
- 34:17Speaker 1: And nobody from LA was calling, so you you came
- 34:21Speaker 1: no contacts?
- 34:23Speaker 2: Okay, so let's hear about that journey.
- 34:25Speaker 3: I started actually like a nobody in La. Nobody knew
- 34:30Speaker 3: a NIHI love no at all, didn't know her music,
- 34:34Speaker 3: nothing about me. So I moved out here with a
- 34:37Speaker 3: boyfriend and I was doing him for like six years
- 34:40Speaker 3: and then got out here and I was like, I'm
- 34:43Speaker 3: just gonna do the same thing I did in Atlanta, Okay.
- 34:46Speaker 3: And even though they didn't have a promo team, I
- 34:47Speaker 3: made friends with the promoters.
- 34:49Speaker 1: So that way, I was always everybody okay, okay, I see,
- 34:53Speaker 1: I see okay.
- 34:54Speaker 3: What the people people failed to realize this. It's always
- 34:57Speaker 3: the background. People like. If you make friends with the promoters,
- 35:00Speaker 3: you're always where you need to be, at the right parties,
- 35:04Speaker 3: at the right events.
- 35:05Speaker 5: You know.
- 35:06Speaker 1: That's how you network r the promoters in LA though,
- 35:09Speaker 1: So I ended up.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Going to this one club playhouse at the time, and
- 35:14Speaker 3: you can always know who the top promoters are because
- 35:19Speaker 3: they move a different way than others. So I just
- 35:23Speaker 3: identified who was the top promoter, the promoter, and when
- 35:26Speaker 3: I got there, I just introduced myself.
- 35:28Speaker 1: But how did you identify? What's the difference between a
- 35:30Speaker 1: top promoter and a regular promoter.
- 35:32Speaker 3: So a top promoter, they normally stand in the front
- 35:35Speaker 3: of the club because they have customers coming in, so
- 35:39Speaker 3: they're always right there by the vip entrance and you'll
- 35:42Speaker 3: see them like, hey, I got this girl, and they're good.
- 35:44Speaker 3: They're good, they're good.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Oh that guy, that guy, that guy.
- 35:48Speaker 3: They're good, they're good. There were me, that's top promoter.
- 35:51Speaker 3: But if you you're with a promoter and they standing
- 35:53Speaker 3: in line with you, or they standing outside still trying
- 35:58Speaker 3: to get their people in, and securities like you gotta
- 36:00Speaker 3: hold on, you gotta you not that man, You're not
- 36:03Speaker 3: the man to talk to because the man that's talk
- 36:05Speaker 3: to is the one of like, oh you're good. Securities
- 36:07Speaker 3: like okay, but let the men. Everybody else is just
- 36:09Speaker 3: like the promoters, like you're not that man, all right.
- 36:16Speaker 3: So that's how I identified. I pulled up to playhouse
- 36:19Speaker 3: my first time. Instantly v I P. I make friends
- 36:22Speaker 3: with DJs. I'm always making friends with DJs. And that's
- 36:26Speaker 3: how i made myself out here.
- 36:27Speaker 1: So you you you you make your connect with the promoter,
- 36:33Speaker 1: then you go for the DJ.
- 36:35Speaker 2: You're a silent killer.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Now I see, I see how you you're you're working
- 36:39Speaker 1: the music business.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Went for the background and not I just stopped there.
- 36:44Speaker 3: I made friends with security. Why because I never had
- 36:47Speaker 3: to stand in line. Know where I went smart? You
- 36:50Speaker 3: make friends with security, you pull up, the rope is
- 36:53Speaker 3: automatically handled.
- 36:54Speaker 2: How do you make friends with security though?
- 36:56Speaker 3: You just stand there and talk to them. Honestly, a
- 36:59Speaker 3: lot of these securities be door Every time I come
- 37:01Speaker 3: to a club the first time, I'm like, is hey,
- 37:03Speaker 3: how you doing? You're doing all right?
- 37:05Speaker 5: Baby?
- 37:05Speaker 3: How you doing? If it's hot, I see them dabbing it,
- 37:08Speaker 3: I'll go get some napkins. Here you go. I see
- 37:10Speaker 3: you was hot, Like I just brought you some. And
- 37:14Speaker 3: the thing about is being kind, just being kind, being
- 37:19Speaker 3: kind to others and patiently not rushing them like, oh
- 37:22Speaker 3: I gotta get it. I got again. Half the time,
- 37:25Speaker 3: people like they'll be like, don't worry about you standing
- 37:27Speaker 3: right here on the side. I got you, and they
- 37:29Speaker 3: let you right in. After that point, it's really like
- 37:32Speaker 3: you up from there because you can pull up to
- 37:34Speaker 3: an event and everybody else is standing in line. But
- 37:37Speaker 3: as soon as security open a rope for you and
- 37:39Speaker 3: them to them, it's like, who is that? I gotta
- 37:42Speaker 3: know who she is? She got to be a somebody
- 37:44Speaker 3: because they just opened the rope for her.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Damn, you need to teach music marketing class. Your sales
- 37:54Speaker 1: skills are pretty impressive.
- 37:56Speaker 3: I think people be worried about the wrong thing half
- 37:59Speaker 3: the when they get out here. It's about, oh, I
- 38:02Speaker 3: gotta link with the top people. Yeah, like the big,
- 38:05Speaker 3: the big, the big dogs. But what they failed to
- 38:08Speaker 3: realize is is the producers, the engineers, the security. Who
- 38:15Speaker 3: knows all of these big people? Those are the ones
- 38:18Speaker 3: pressing the buttons. Yeah, everybody else is just being told
- 38:22Speaker 3: what to do.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Okay, now I see how you're handling it in person.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I was also impressed by your following online. Now everything
- 38:32Speaker 1: I'm learning about following is that ship is tough.
- 38:36Speaker 2: How are you able to mask your following?
- 38:41Speaker 3: Honestly, I'm struggling. I'm not even gonna cap with you.
- 38:45Speaker 3: I'm struggling because times are just changing, and the more
- 38:49Speaker 3: they come out with platforms, new apps, the more apps
- 38:53Speaker 3: start getting boring to people. You have to start finding
- 38:56Speaker 3: new ways to entertain your audience because it just starts
- 38:59Speaker 3: getting part of like Instagram is starting to slowly like
- 39:05Speaker 3: Instagram is slowly starting to die down, and I feel
- 39:08Speaker 3: like a lot of people are starting to notice it.
- 39:11Speaker 3: TikTok became that thing. Yeah, and now you have like
- 39:15Speaker 3: Thread and then you have like I refuse. You know
- 39:21Speaker 3: what's so crazy? I joined Thread only to find out
- 39:24Speaker 3: afterwards like if you get Thread and you delete it,
- 39:27Speaker 3: it deletes your whole Instagram. So what That's how they
- 39:31Speaker 3: got already.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Lunkberg got them.
- 39:33Speaker 3: That's why everybody has those like little badges in their thing.
- 39:36Speaker 3: It's connected to your Instagram. You cannot sign up for
- 39:39Speaker 3: Thread without hooking it to your Instagram.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Dang.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Now I'm friends with a couple influencers, and I will
- 39:45Speaker 1: say this. One of them, day Storm, is a good
- 39:49Speaker 1: friend of mine. I noticed that anytime a platform drops,
- 39:52Speaker 1: before it even drops, he's already on it. And they're
- 39:55Speaker 1: they're quick with the transitions. And if you're not an influencer,
- 39:58Speaker 1: you can you get fresh cause you're like, man, I'm
- 40:01Speaker 1: just trying to do business, you know, I don't need
- 40:03Speaker 1: to be you know, you know, for I guess for
- 40:06Speaker 1: people trying to do business, it's like it's a way
- 40:08Speaker 1: to promote your product, Like you know how you're focused
- 40:11Speaker 1: on promotions. But the way they're coming up with these platforms,
- 40:14Speaker 1: it's like, come on, man, how many devices do you
- 40:16Speaker 1: need to see me? In ten different ways? On the
- 40:18Speaker 1: same on your phone anyways.
- 40:20Speaker 3: And on top of that, it's the same thing when
- 40:23Speaker 3: you really think about it, all you're doing is going live.
- 40:27Speaker 3: You're posting what you're doing. How many of these platforms
- 40:31Speaker 3: are really different when you really think about it. TikTok
- 40:34Speaker 3: you go live, Facebook, you go live, you know, you
- 40:37Speaker 3: post your feeds, you post your fees on Instagram, you
- 40:39Speaker 3: post your fees on TikTok, you post your feed on thread.
- 40:43Speaker 3: What difference are you getting from me?
- 40:45Speaker 1: I use a scheduling app for ours now, But I
- 40:49Speaker 1: will say, like, it's the same content like fourteen different ways.
- 40:53Speaker 3: You know.
- 40:54Speaker 1: And then most people that have Instagram, have Facebook that
- 40:57Speaker 1: have linked and to have Twitter that have the It's like,
- 40:59Speaker 1: all right, I can't do another app on my phone
- 41:02Speaker 1: at this point.
- 41:03Speaker 3: I can't. And that's that's why you just make your
- 41:05Speaker 3: content and then post it on every single one of them.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Now, when it comes to Instagram, do you fall victim
- 41:12Speaker 1: to like the negatives of it?
- 41:14Speaker 5: Do you?
- 41:15Speaker 3: That's why I don't allow comments. Oh you don't, really, yeah,
- 41:20Speaker 3: to a certain extent, because I feel like social media
- 41:24Speaker 3: has come to a point where people are just too comfortable.
- 41:27Speaker 2: With their opinions. Yes, everyone has an opinion.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Now it's like, why does it matter? When did it
- 41:32Speaker 3: become a pressure thing for artists or just anybody in
- 41:36Speaker 3: an entertainment business to have to have opinions. It's like
- 41:41Speaker 3: they promote you to be yourself, not to care what
- 41:43Speaker 3: people think. But then it's like, oh, but you got
- 41:46Speaker 3: to have a comment section for people to tell you
- 41:48Speaker 3: what they think. And I just be like, well, I
- 41:51Speaker 3: don't really see how it benefits me. Honestly, I don't
- 41:56Speaker 3: see how letting people comment benefits me, because either you're
- 42:01Speaker 3: praising me or you're tearing me down mentally and emotionally.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I'm the person who has to deal with that, nobody else.
- 42:07Speaker 3: So I don't allow comments because you're not gonna ruin
- 42:10Speaker 3: my day, and because I know mentally and emotionally, I'm
- 42:13Speaker 3: one of those people who are still working on not
- 42:16Speaker 3: caring what people think. Yeah, it is just a lot
- 42:19Speaker 3: easier if I eliminate what causes me like stress, what
- 42:23Speaker 3: causes me anxiety, what makes me overthink and overthink about myself?
- 42:27Speaker 3: I second guess myself. I second guess things that I'm
- 42:30Speaker 3: about to post. Should I post this because of other
- 42:34Speaker 3: people's opinion and that's tiring. It's so tiring, it's draining,
- 42:39Speaker 3: and I just don't care for it.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I never thought about eliminating the comments. I think
- 42:45Speaker 1: that's kind of genius. I may steal that down the road.
- 42:48Speaker 1: You may see me do that. I've had people recently
- 42:52Speaker 1: going on. I've been having a nice lucky streak with women.
- 42:56Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie like I usually interview a lot
- 42:58Speaker 1: of men, so I've been and very fortunate this past
- 43:02Speaker 1: season to have more a lot more women. But the
- 43:05Speaker 1: comments that come from men for the women on my show,
- 43:09Speaker 1: I'm very much like, probably I will consider myself the
- 43:13Speaker 1: unapproachable type girl, you know, the girl, the girl where
- 43:16Speaker 1: guys think she may pull a gun on you if
- 43:18Speaker 1: you approach your type. You know I'm that I'm that girl.
- 43:23Speaker 1: But if if you come for a girl on my
- 43:25Speaker 1: show and you say some disrespectful stuff, I don't give
- 43:30Speaker 1: a rats.
- 43:31Speaker 3: You gotta get it.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna you gotta get it.
- 43:34Speaker 1: And I and I'm to the point where if someone
- 43:37Speaker 1: doesn't and I all guys need to know this about me,
- 43:40Speaker 1: Like I'm about to post your d M to the world,
- 43:43Speaker 1: and like like you want to you you have the
- 43:45Speaker 1: balls to say it in private, go ahead say yeah, so,
- 43:50Speaker 1: but I blocked, But I will starting like the next
- 43:53Speaker 1: time someone really gets under my skin, I'm just gonna
- 43:56Speaker 1: screenshot example of inappropriate and then let people have that that.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Person exactly, because we really need to start sticking up
- 44:06Speaker 3: for women way more than we do. And social media
- 44:10Speaker 3: has just become one of those things where damn if
- 44:13Speaker 3: you do, damn if you don't.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:15Speaker 1: So when it comes to hip hop, who was like
- 44:18Speaker 1: your initial like in love, like who was that first
- 44:23Speaker 1: or that person and rap that was your rock?
- 44:26Speaker 3: So I actually started as a singer before I was rapping,
- 44:29Speaker 3: and so Winnie Houston and Monica actually inspired me to
- 44:34Speaker 3: even do music rapping wild because I was also a
- 44:37Speaker 3: big fan of hip hop. I was a big fan
- 44:39Speaker 3: of Queen Latifa mc lie, I love Little Kim just
- 44:46Speaker 3: back then, and yes, yes, because they have bars and
- 44:55Speaker 3: if they were unapologetic with who they were and the
- 44:58Speaker 3: way that they delivered in the metaphor, and then they
- 45:01Speaker 3: would change their cadence and it'd go from this to that,
- 45:03Speaker 3: and I was just like, man, yeah, like I would
- 45:07Speaker 3: hear you, I can hear you describe this is a nigga. Yeah,
- 45:13Speaker 3: but it's the way that they describe it. Even when
- 45:16Speaker 3: little Queen Latifa, who you calling up? It y, like
- 45:21Speaker 3: come on, now, that's a message within that like we
- 45:25Speaker 3: need more respect, and I just don't. I don't really
- 45:28Speaker 3: get inspired by newer audience. So when I do, like
- 45:32Speaker 3: do my research on music, I still to this day,
- 45:35Speaker 3: I go back and I listen to old school.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Right, Okay, yeah, I'm like that.
- 45:39Speaker 1: I will say. It's so funny because I'm a huge
- 45:42Speaker 1: jay Z fan. If you walk into the studio, there's.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Only one in the world.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Everyone who has come has seen it. It's a huge
- 45:50Speaker 1: jay Z painting right in the in the the living
- 45:53Speaker 1: room area of this studio. But it's the only one
- 45:56Speaker 1: in the world. People can take pictures of it, but
- 45:58Speaker 1: they can't take it. But but I remember, uh, you know,
- 46:05Speaker 1: I'm a fan of like Lauren Hill and Foxy him
- 46:08Speaker 1: and all those guys. But I remember a Million. I
- 46:12Speaker 1: don't know if you remember her. I mean, I really
- 46:14Speaker 1: wish we could find her and bring her back. But
- 46:16Speaker 1: a Milion was like the first woman where I was like, yo,
- 46:18Speaker 1: her voice sounds kind of nice on a beat.
- 46:21Speaker 3: She had a flow.
- 46:22Speaker 2: M hm.
- 46:22Speaker 3: She had a flow that when you heard it, you
- 46:25Speaker 3: knew it was her.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's what we don't have today.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but I will say this, knowing what I know
- 46:30Speaker 1: about the industry, it's kind of sucks the business side
- 46:34Speaker 1: because for whatever reason, you see an artist that talented
- 46:37Speaker 1: and then they disappear. You're like, what happened? You know,
- 46:39Speaker 1: the industry some some red tape blocked her.
- 46:43Speaker 3: Or some every time. I think a lot of artists
- 46:48Speaker 3: I feel should have been bigger in the industry, they
- 46:51Speaker 3: weren't because they weren't down to do what the industry
- 46:54Speaker 3: wanted them to do.
- 46:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:56Speaker 1: And then for women, I personally have some friends that,
- 47:01Speaker 1: I mean, they could give Mariah a run for their money. Okay,
- 47:04Speaker 1: I got this girl to shout out to Denise if
- 47:05Speaker 1: you ever need a really amazing singer. But she just
- 47:09Speaker 1: couldn't deal with like just the pressure from men and
- 47:12Speaker 1: producers trying to have sex all the time.
- 47:14Speaker 2: It just got tiring.
- 47:15Speaker 1: And it was like, beautiful young girl sing her ass off,
- 47:18Speaker 1: But it's like, Yo, how many years do you want
- 47:20Speaker 1: to go through being treated like that?
- 47:23Speaker 3: Very discouraging, Yes, it's so discouraging. It really just makes
- 47:28Speaker 3: you look at yourself, like am I good enough? Am
- 47:31Speaker 3: I talented enough?
- 47:32Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 47:33Speaker 3: It's like can I really sing? Because if I could?
- 47:38Speaker 3: Why do you only see me that way? Why don't
- 47:41Speaker 3: you see the music? Why don't you see the talent?
- 47:43Speaker 3: Why can't you hear me? Versus damn you fine, let
- 47:46Speaker 3: me take you out to the It's like hear my voice?
- 47:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I think for It's funny because I did do
- 47:52Speaker 1: the shopping on the show and I was in Walmart.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Weird ass story, not trying to sidetrack this guy.
- 47:57Speaker 1: He comes up, He's all super nice, looks like guy
- 48:00Speaker 1: that would either duct tape you and throw you in
- 48:02Speaker 1: the trunk of the car or or like a super nerd.
- 48:06Speaker 1: But you were like in the direction like you but
- 48:11Speaker 1: you look like you're also coming. He's like, hey, uh,
- 48:13Speaker 1: saw you shopping? And I'm so earheaded, like I did
- 48:17Speaker 1: not notice or whatever. He was like, yeah, so you shopping,
- 48:19Speaker 1: following you around and I just want to say you're beautiful,
- 48:22Speaker 1: and you know, I gave him the whole merry line
- 48:24Speaker 1: or whatever. But so I go to check out and
- 48:28Speaker 1: then security comes up on this dude to swear to God,
- 48:31Speaker 1: true story, and.
- 48:31Speaker 2: They're like check him out. And then this dude has
- 48:34Speaker 2: a huge box of columns and I was like, oh.
- 48:38Speaker 2: I was like, yo, you can't.
- 48:40Speaker 1: I'm not hating on men, but you definitely got to
- 48:43Speaker 1: know that men think with two brains and one of
- 48:46Speaker 1: them superseds out.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Can you imagine that?
- 48:50Speaker 1: And I turned around, I saw that I kept a
- 48:52Speaker 1: sober face, and let me tell you something. I sped
- 48:56Speaker 1: walk to my car and was like looking at Rustle.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Like please, God, don't let me, but this gout follow it.
- 49:02Speaker 1: I was like, yo, he was definitely the the in
- 49:05Speaker 1: the trunk of his car type.
- 49:06Speaker 2: Don't you think he got a van? He got a
- 49:08Speaker 2: van or something.
- 49:09Speaker 3: This is one of them dark bands, them Scooby doo vands.
- 49:11Speaker 2: You gotta watch out for him. Now, you're beautiful, okay.
- 49:15Speaker 1: So I define women as there's you know, cute, beautiful,
- 49:18Speaker 1: and they're sexy, right, I.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Would say, you're you're more a sexy Okay.
- 49:24Speaker 1: So when I think sexy, I think I can't imagine because,
- 49:29Speaker 1: like I said, I've seen some of the guests on
- 49:31Speaker 1: my show the way some men comment. I'm like, yo,
- 49:33Speaker 1: if you actually listen to the full episode, you not
- 49:35Speaker 1: be talking like this in my dms.
- 49:38Speaker 2: But I get it.
- 49:39Speaker 1: You know, for sound bites, we we you know, we
- 49:42Speaker 1: position things in a in a playful way, even on
- 49:44Speaker 1: our snippets to obviously get people to tune into the episode.
- 49:48Speaker 1: But with you, you know, your wrap is amazing. It
- 49:51Speaker 1: is impressive. I used to be the type that would
- 49:55Speaker 1: be like anti anything too sexy or judge girls, but
- 49:59Speaker 1: a they're doing eating while broke, I'm like, I can't
- 50:02Speaker 1: do that because I can honestly say the girls that
- 50:06Speaker 1: have even the risky topics that I wouldn't all the
- 50:09Speaker 1: way be in support of, I'm like, ah, I'm sorry,
- 50:12Speaker 1: that chick is so dope, Like you know, like even
- 50:14Speaker 1: getting to know you and hearing your story, you're like, ah,
- 50:16Speaker 1: that chick is dope. And that's why I'm like, Yo,
- 50:18Speaker 1: if you guys could just get past the look and
- 50:21Speaker 1: that's in the sound bites, you can actually see the person.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Right, but it would just do a lot for hip hop.
- 50:28Speaker 1: But in your case, it's like, you have the sexy,
- 50:32Speaker 1: the brains, the drive. Do you ever feel like you
- 50:35Speaker 1: have to do you feel like you have to put
- 50:38Speaker 1: on the sexy to be heard or do you feel
- 50:41Speaker 1: like is there ever gonna be a place where you
- 50:43Speaker 1: can tone it down.
- 50:44Speaker 3: Actually, it is so funny that you say that, because
- 50:46Speaker 3: I just talked to my manager about this. I think
- 50:48Speaker 3: was like, yesterday, I go to the studio no makeup.
- 50:52Speaker 3: I won't wear any makeup. I don't be dulled up,
- 50:55Speaker 3: dressed up. I'm in sweats. And I told him the
- 50:58Speaker 3: other day because when I'm in this studio, I've learned
- 51:01Speaker 3: when I'm dulled up and I look good, they're distracted.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Not my team, but men they come to studio, artists, producers,
- 51:09Speaker 3: they be distracted. They not take me serious, and I
- 51:13Speaker 3: find myself not getting no work done. And when I
- 51:17Speaker 3: started no makeup, just coming in raw, it was like
- 51:21Speaker 3: you had no choice but to hear me and to work.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:24Speaker 3: So I say, those places like that are the only
- 51:28Speaker 3: places that I can go.
- 51:31Speaker 1: But so are you saying that you do feel pressure
- 51:34Speaker 1: to be at least since in the public.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Yes, I did, Yeah, because it's I remember I did
- 51:42Speaker 3: this one interview and he asked me. He was like,
- 51:45Speaker 3: I'm kind of offended that you didn't wear makeup to
- 51:49Speaker 3: my interview and I was like why and he was like,
- 51:53Speaker 3: because it feels like to him, I don't take him serious,
- 51:57Speaker 3: or I didn't take his work serious is because I
- 52:00Speaker 3: didn't show up like dulled up and you know, straight
- 52:04Speaker 3: like artist. But I was like, I'm my fit was fly,
- 52:07Speaker 3: everything was cute, hair done whatever. I just thought, I
- 52:10Speaker 3: have no makeup on.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and by the way, your skin is flawless, just
- 52:14Speaker 1: so all the listeners know.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Because I wear makeup. My twins and makeup artists.
- 52:18Speaker 1: And sometimes when she seems the clips online, she gets
- 52:20Speaker 1: frustrated because some days I don't wear makeup.
- 52:23Speaker 2: Some days I look like I'm I'm a new mom,
- 52:26Speaker 2: you know whatever.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Make she does not need make But I will say
- 52:29Speaker 1: this though, Like I I was talking to my sister
- 52:31Speaker 1: and she was like, I get so frustrated seeing clips
- 52:34Speaker 1: of you online and then sometimes you look like shit
- 52:36Speaker 1: and you have a makeup artist of the sister. I'm like, yeah, back, bully, whatever,
- 52:40Speaker 1: but I'm looking at you. You don't need makeup for sure.
- 52:43Speaker 1: But I think that's interesting that that, like I said it,
- 52:46Speaker 1: because it more revealed more about him than you.
- 52:50Speaker 3: It kind of offended me, Like hold on, y'all preach
- 52:54Speaker 3: about us being natural and being in our own skin,
- 52:57Speaker 3: and then when we not wear makeup, it's like, oh,
- 53:00Speaker 3: you must not take yourself serious because look at you game.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I feel like I'm almost say that guy isn't a
- 53:06Speaker 1: real man, because real men, y'all like cell You y'all.
- 53:12Speaker 3: Down for him. Of course I had to let him know,
- 53:14Speaker 3: Oh babe, I take myself serious, which is why I
- 53:16Speaker 3: have no makeup on. I'm comfortable in my skin. I'm
- 53:20Speaker 3: comfortable with the way that I look. I love the
- 53:22Speaker 3: way that I look with or without makeup. So you know,
- 53:25Speaker 3: if you don't want to do this interview, that's fine.
- 53:27Speaker 2: A how to feel me.
- 53:29Speaker 1: And usually not trying to throw shade on most of
- 53:32Speaker 1: our guests, but I would say fifty percent of our
- 53:34Speaker 1: guest show up late. You were on time in advance,
- 53:38Speaker 1: Your team was the most efficient with the follow ups,
- 53:42Speaker 1: with the Mega shure. Everything was done, and I respect it.
- 53:46Speaker 1: And that's why I was telling y'all wanted to touch
- 53:48Speaker 1: on that. I like seeing a team that's like everyone's
- 53:53Speaker 1: dying eyes, including yourself, crossing the t's let's get this,
- 53:56Speaker 1: let's lock it in, let's close the deal, and that
- 54:00Speaker 1: alone deserves a seat at the table, you know. But
- 54:04Speaker 1: I just I was like, okay, and then listening to
- 54:06Speaker 1: the music, of course, but overall, like I listened to
- 54:09Speaker 1: the music, thought it.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Was great shout outs.
- 54:12Speaker 1: If you guys haven't heard heard a Naya Love Notes music,
- 54:17Speaker 1: you should definitely check it out. You can find snippets
- 54:19Speaker 1: online or you can actually go on wherever you stream
- 54:22Speaker 1: your music.
- 54:22Speaker 3: You get it right. Well, all my music is under
- 54:24Speaker 3: a Naya Love Note. I just dropped a new visual
- 54:27Speaker 3: for my new single Sidity.
- 54:29Speaker 2: And I like that way.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Thank you. Shout out to Will Smith. Okay, and now
- 54:35Speaker 3: we're about to drop a new single called serial feature
- 54:37Speaker 3: in a D and casey Veggie. So I'm pretty excited.
- 54:40Speaker 3: I get to give La la vibe because we don't
- 54:44Speaker 3: really have, you know, artists really pop it right now
- 54:47Speaker 3: out of La. In my opinion, I feel like the
- 54:50Speaker 3: last person I was like really it was blue face,
- 54:53Speaker 3: Oh God, and then after that it was like, by.
- 54:57Speaker 1: The way, I'm sorry.
- 55:00Speaker 2: I really want Christian on my shouto. I really love her.
- 55:04Speaker 3: I love her growth. Yeah, I love her growth.
- 55:07Speaker 1: I just like, uh, well, I think all women we
- 55:10Speaker 1: struggle with self love a little bit. And I so
- 55:14Speaker 1: I feel like in that like you could see little
- 55:17Speaker 1: bitsy yourself kind of in her journey.
- 55:20Speaker 3: I think what I saw on myself. Was the love
- 55:23Speaker 3: that she had, Like I've never like, of course, no tea,
- 55:27Speaker 3: no shade, but I've never written anything in blood to
- 55:31Speaker 3: be honest, or got a man's anything tatted on me,
- 55:36Speaker 3: to be honest.
- 55:37Speaker 2: But I didn't know she I know she got it
- 55:39Speaker 2: tatt I don't know about the random blood babe.
- 55:41Speaker 3: Yeah, she wrote in her blood on his wall in
- 55:44Speaker 3: his house after she broke into it and then stole
- 55:46Speaker 3: the car. But you know, hey, when you love somebody,
- 55:50Speaker 3: you love them, and who is anybody else to tell
- 55:53Speaker 3: you otherwise? And I just felt like her love was
- 55:56Speaker 3: so real, it was so genuine, and maybe his one.
- 56:00Speaker 3: And then it became a let's get to this money
- 56:04Speaker 3: and that she found herself just the love that everyone
- 56:08Speaker 3: else was giving her, letting her know like, you're beautiful
- 56:11Speaker 3: and you're talented, you're smart, you don't need him. Yeah,
- 56:15Speaker 3: you do this on your own.
- 56:16Speaker 1: I think there was definitely a lot of probably gas
- 56:19Speaker 1: lighting and manipulation on his part. Yes, usually when you
- 56:22Speaker 1: see a toxic relationship, men are gonna hate me for this,
- 56:25Speaker 1: But I feel like the men lead the toxicity in
- 56:28Speaker 1: the relationship because they are the leaders.
- 56:30Speaker 2: So if a man starts doing crazy stuff.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Then usually I hate to say it, guys, but the
- 56:35Speaker 1: woman will follow suit. If you're a healthy man, you're white,
- 56:38Speaker 1: you're a girl, your wife will more than likely be
- 56:41Speaker 1: healthy because at the end of the day, you guys,
- 56:44Speaker 1: unnatural or naturally, are the leader of the relationship. So like,
- 56:48Speaker 1: even if you're dating a toxic girl, I've seen toxic
- 56:51Speaker 1: girls turn untoxic dating the right guy.
- 56:53Speaker 3: The right man and I have been through that situation.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Yeah, so there was we were talking a little bit
- 57:00Speaker 1: behind the scenes about some of your relationships. There was
- 57:02Speaker 1: one relationship that you said that helped you transition or
- 57:05Speaker 1: helped you in some sort of way.
- 57:09Speaker 3: Sodia Soldier boy. When me and him was dating, to
- 57:15Speaker 3: be honest, I felt like I was so focused on him,
- 57:19Speaker 3: Like anytime he'd be like, hey, what you doing, pull up?
- 57:22Speaker 3: I drop what I was doing and pull up. And
- 57:26Speaker 3: the reason why I said it helped me is because
- 57:28Speaker 3: it taught me in this industry one it don't matter
- 57:32Speaker 3: if a man has money or no money, men or
- 57:36Speaker 3: men at the end of the day. So what I
- 57:40Speaker 3: learned was when I was focused on him, I should
- 57:43Speaker 3: have been focused on myself. Anytime I would pull up
- 57:46Speaker 3: and he's recording, just knocking out songs back to back
- 57:49Speaker 3: to back, and I'm sitting here, sitting here watching him
- 57:52Speaker 3: do it. I should have been working.
- 58:07Speaker 1: And he knew you were a recording artist. Yeah, did
- 58:09Speaker 1: he support your music?
- 58:11Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 58:11Speaker 3: Actually he allowed me to direct and choreograph make a Clap,
- 58:16Speaker 3: the first one and the second one with French Montana.
- 58:19Speaker 3: So but the way that I am, I don't never
- 58:23Speaker 3: try to do business and personal. I don't really care
- 58:26Speaker 3: who you are, because I want to say I came
- 58:30Speaker 3: up and I earned it myself. I don't never want
- 58:33Speaker 3: nobody to say the only reason why she made is
- 58:35Speaker 3: because so and so. That would just be a slap
- 58:37Speaker 3: in the face for everything that I went through. But
- 58:40Speaker 3: with Sojia, it was like I'd come, he'd plays music,
- 58:45Speaker 3: we'd be dancing in the living room, and I could
- 58:48Speaker 3: tell how much he loved what he did. And the
- 58:51Speaker 3: only thing I could also think up on the side
- 58:54Speaker 3: was damn girl, you need to be in a studio
- 58:56Speaker 3: like you need to be working.
- 58:59Speaker 2: You need to be there for you.
- 59:00Speaker 3: And I kept finding it as a distraction. Eventually, like man,
- 59:07Speaker 3: it broke me. Me and him had our situation which
- 59:11Speaker 3: led us to no longer dating. But it really did
- 59:14Speaker 3: break me, like Soldier broke me, and he built me
- 59:17Speaker 3: at the same time, like he built me to be
- 59:19Speaker 3: a better me. And you know what I mean, trying
- 59:21Speaker 3: to broke me as an I he was like one
- 59:26Speaker 3: of the first celebs I guess that I dated and
- 59:33Speaker 3: broke me asn't. I started losing myself, just losing myself
- 59:37Speaker 3: within him. Every time he would call, I'd answered. Anytime
- 59:41Speaker 3: he wanted me to pull up, I drop what I
- 59:42Speaker 3: was doing. Anytime he wasn't answering the phone. Why you're
- 59:45Speaker 3: not answering the phone?
- 59:46Speaker 2: And what are you doing?
- 59:46Speaker 3: Who you with? Like? And that's not me, Like, that's
- 59:49Speaker 3: not who I am naturally as a woman. So I
- 59:52Speaker 3: just found myself becoming somebody that I was not trying
- 59:55Speaker 3: to please him, knowing like I'm looking on the shade room,
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: you posted up with this shorty next thing. You know
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: you posted up with this girl?
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: Stuff about it? Or did you?
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: Just one time we got into it and I was
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: yelling and he got mad at me because I yelled
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: at him in his house and I was just like
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: you over here posted with this girl in the shade
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: room and da da da da, and he's like, that
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: girl wanted to take a picture, so I posted. You
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: could have you know, if you want to take a picture,
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: we could have took a picture. I respect your privacy,
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: so I'm not about to be out here. Okay, let's
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: take a picture. It's like I'm posted it and go
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: in the shade room. I don't care enough to do that.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: So by me seeing the type of women you were,
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: and I'm looking at me like you know, and I'm
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: gonna keep it transparent because I don't care. When before
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Make It, Clod came out, I was sleeping on the
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: floor with you in your big eyes mansion when you
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: had a small couch and my foot was one way
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: and his feet was the other way. Before he yeah,
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: got a bed in his crib. I'm sleeping in this
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: big ass mansion with you on this small ass couch.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: And all I could think of was, this is me
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: testing myself if I ride it. I you get what
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: I'm saying, like you got some women, Oh you ain't
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: gonna I'm out me. I'm like, I don't care.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Now this is during Soldiers, because this is before Make It.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: This is when he was just making Make It. Clap
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: so how because social came out when he was like seventeen. Yes,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: so that was after make it.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: This was like right before I met Soldier, like in
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: twenty and twenty twenty one.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: Okay, so yeah, this is way after because Soldier's career, Soldier,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I feel like Soldier's career is so long.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Like most people that.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Have a long career, it's like you ride the waves
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: of success and family, yes.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: And you up and down up now and around that time,
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: he was at just about to get back up, yes, okay,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: but it was still where he was, where he was at,
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: And so for me, I just didn't care. I'm gonna
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: sleep on this blood with you if I got to. Yeah,
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: you ain't got no bed. I don't give a damn
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: baby's hop on this couch.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: Yeah. So you were like old school with the Rider Die.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and it kind of I do blame hip hop
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: for the Rider Die Eric for a lot of us
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: women that grew up in that, like, oh you want
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: to be the rider die for your guy, because looking
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: back now like that is definitely toxic.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Oh my god, I.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Just realized we didn't even try your nachos.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Hold up, We're gonna try some of these nachos.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm gonna grab some of the chips, right, and
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: then you're gonna put some on top. Do you want
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: to use that wooden spoon? I'm like sitting here all
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: in your start. We didn't even try these. We have
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: to try these, these beautiful mama nachos. So you guys
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: know one of our previous guests did have nachos on
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: the show, So I will be comparing nachos.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: And you gotta be like, very honest.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you. Norm Steels had to read on
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: nacho chips.
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: See he had.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: I saw that, like, oh do that he had the
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: real dacha. He had the one, the actual doritos.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he took it there. Yeah, so I feel like
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: you're gonna.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Be cheating because that's like giving real flavor. Though, like
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: you that's real flavor.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: You feel.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: I will say this though he had a lot more ingredients,
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: so it may be comparing apples to tomatoes or whatever,
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: because definitely this had very limited But let's go ahead
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: and try this.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: Mamnacho's ain't fl mama nachos.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Anaya mama nachos. Hmmm, pretty good.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: I'm not gonna liem it. Definitely tastes different and new
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: with the turkey meat.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Really you don't like it? I like him.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: I like it with the turkey meat. I was gonna say,
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: I normally use the red meat, but this tastes really
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: good with the turkey. And then that this right here
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: is not too bad. It's not the season that I
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: normally use, but this actually came out really good. So
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: if I see anybody with this in their cabinet, now
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: I know what it is. Because I really thought it
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: was just more like onions and stuff.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: I will say, I want to try it with the
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: CHILIESE on it. The chip with the chilies, M not
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: that beast right, well done. I think belvida cheese. I
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: think it's salty, right, is that what's given?
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: A little salty?
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Actually?
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: How you gonna compliment and take it away?
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: I ain't gonna this one. Gave it a little bit
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: of salt.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: It's definitely saltier.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no no. I didn't know how much
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: to honestly use this because I never used it before,
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: so I feel like I used a little bit too much.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: So stick to the original. All part it is.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: That's what I grew up on. This is a today's
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: learning situation.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: So I may have messed up your dish a little bit,
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: but we're still good.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Still good. Okay, wait, I'm.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: Gonna try not to eat.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: Who's this better? I know what she's gonna say. She's
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: gonna say her the dorito nachos.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: This girl, I'm sorry he cheated.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: This is what I will say. Norms nachos shout out
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: to Norms. Steel was better, but technically he had way
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: more ingredients, and he had luxury ingredients because this is.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Regular tortilla chips.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Doritos are like way more so if you're on a budget,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: this works fine, but between y'all, you better get Norms
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: of recipe.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Because his nachos by far work.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: Now my ones. Look, honey, you know chronicles.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: We should have you on his podcast.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: There so I can bring my nachos and be like.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Look, yeah, yeah, he does gangster chronicles. You fit right
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: in there.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I think.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Damn.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I didn't mean to cut off in the middle of soul,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: just just in your relationship, but but no, these notchos
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: are really good. I was like, so caught up in
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: the story that I heard a random sound. I was
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: so caught up in the story that I forgot about
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: the meal. Surprisingly, I don't know how that happened.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: It'd be like that the T be good, the T
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: be good, the T be good.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Is there any other milestones that you hit that were
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: like kind of a little harder to overcome where you
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: kind of stalled out a little bit?
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: Honestly, I think being out here in La, it was
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: a one point where as a black woman, I just
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: didn't know how to maneuver because certain doors were more
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: so for like women of lighter color. Yea, men flock
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: to more lighter colored women. So when I came out here,
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: I felt like the most thing that I struggled with
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: was just self love at one point, because I see
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: how people can say La can eat you alive if
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: you don't know who you are, and just losing myself
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: dealing with that, and then I'm trying to get in
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: certain doors, but it's like, dang, I'm tired of everyone
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: and try to sleep with me, but I'm the black
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: girl of the group, and I just feel like I
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: really had to find myself.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: How do you curb?
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: I still struggle with this, But when I was younger,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: when I first moved to LA, I definitely used my
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: looks to get into doors, and then I would swear
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: on my brains to keep me there.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: And it was a hard battle. And that's why I
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: said I.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Became the unapproachable, like the fu Tim Waring girl. I
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: have a fat booty for everybody that doesn't know you
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: feel me. But but uh, but as long as I'm
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: in the one three club, like one thirties club, it's
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: not two outrageous.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: But usually I'm about one fifties, so I'm like thick.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: So I would always wear like whatever I can to cover,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: you know, but still you can't.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: You can only hide that so much.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: You from New York, they all.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: But but I did use looks for a long time
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: to get in the door. And that's how the industry is.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: But even in that, I still every once in a
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: while will come across like someone that I do want
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: to work with. And then like, obviously for my history
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: of being in the entertainment, like you could tell when
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: a guy's trying to fuck, like even if they're trying
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: to flee cool you like you can tell little things.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: How are you able to still curve those? Because I
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: still struggle to the point where I'm like, fuck man,
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: I just want to just keep it real.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: Well. Those is hard because it really just depends. Like
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: if it's somebody I really really want to work with
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: and they just see you as right the time, I'll
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: just like laugh it off, like.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: You get past it because I can't see No, I'll
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: tell you right now, I can't, and I'm gonna I'm
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: gonna tell you I can't.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: People, But I am so upfront and I do not
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: apologize for it instantly. I'm be like, look, I came
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: to work, so you on anything else past what I'm
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: trying to do. I'm just letting you know right now
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: like I came to work.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: And then once they cut the bridge right.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: Now, at that point, it's like, yeah, no, let's work,
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: let's get it in like that.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: But what if they say that then you never and
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: I just be like.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: Okay, that's cool, I understand, and I just let it go.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: I just let it go because I think I had
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: one person tell me one time. He was like, never
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: say what you wouldn't do, and I was like, what
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: you mean? And he was like, if Drake wanted to
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: fuck and you know for a feature, would you I say,
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: you're not, Drake. Just get that out the way. And
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: second of all it really, I'm gonna be honest.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: You know what, Let's go back to the first one.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: You ain't Drake, Okay, you something.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: I don't know. I haven't seen Drake in person. I don't.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: I don't do light skin.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: By the way, I don't love I don't like white
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: skin because I'm mixed.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: And I'll tell you right now. Anybody that looks like
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: my brother, I.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Am like, if you got the curly hair, like you know,
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: the mulatto, the curls, if you don't have like the
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: fro or like can have a fade like nah, But
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: I don't really mess with There's like literally one.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: Light skin dude. I like my whole life, but that's it.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: Like dark skins get me in trouble. I love dark skins.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: I could deal with you because I know there's no future.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: But saying that, if you were Drake for a feature,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: I'm like, come on, man, you got like Drake talent,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: n you have. Maybe Drake ain't the worst looking dude.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: I maybe give Drake a pass.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: Because in my mind, I'm like, to be honest with you, Yeah,
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: me getting that feature would do way more for me
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: than anything else. But at the same time, It's like, dang,
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: the way that you think that though, Like it was
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: just the conversation alone and his mind frame of the
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: way he was thinking alone just made me be like, man,
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: this is a real industry mess. Yeah, this real industry mess,
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: and I don't care. Oh my god. Oh it burns
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: me up when a man is very arrogant and it
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: goes down the list of things and people that he
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: know and that is your reasoning for fucking with him.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Oh oh, that happens all the time in the industry.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: It's so annoying. They'll be like, you don't know how
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: great I am.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Let me show you some shit you're missing out, Like.
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: You just passed up on a good thing. And I
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: know this person, I could really do something for your dream.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: And I'd be like, by if you got to tell
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: me all of that, then you really probably.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Not that Yeah, yeah, exactly. Now you've been in LA
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: for how long.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Now going on five years?
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: Five years, and you're ready, you're ready to keep going. Honestly,
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: I dropped out for ten years. I'm not even gonna lie.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: I took a ten year hiatus.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: I think I'm ready to explore somewhere new, honestly, But
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: I honestly think me moving around comes from just being
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: in foster care. I just stand somewhere for a certain
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: long time. I can honestly say I don't know where
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: I would make home.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Okay, I agree with that, Like I sometimes think about that.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: I own a house here, about it a long time ago.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: So I'm keeping it because equity in LA is amazing
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: and it's almost paid off. So it's gonna be my
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: I feel like it's gonna be my Kelli home. But
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: I think my real home is going to be in
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: another that you know, just gives us more bank for
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: our buck. They do, oh they Why do I keep
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: spacing on this?
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: But I wanted to ask you? Are you in a relationship?
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: Are you do you? Guys?
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: Girls have the asses now I know, right, but no,
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: I do not date girls. I'm strictly for the penis
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: and when.
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: And I just had this conversation the other day.
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: But every now and then against that, I'm not against it,
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: I am.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: Okay. So my twin and I had this conversation.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: True story, we had this conversation and I was like, yeah,
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: my husband he's a hoe, like I'm legit married a
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: whore like.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: These It's terrible at this.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I already married him, so I mean it's either
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: divorce or you're married to a whore.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: So anyways, my sister was like, well, would you ever
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: consider a threesome?
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: And I was like, Rebecca, like, I'm so not gay,
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Like I could tell a beautiful girl. But that's where
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: it stopped, exactly like, I'm not trying to do nothing
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: with you.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: And that's where my threesome is kind of kind of
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: like they kind of yeah, because I honestly just went
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: through a situation not too long ago. Oh my gosh,
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: it was the worst situation ever in life history. So
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: I get flown out. And then it was the guy's birthday.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: And I had been talking to him for like a
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: good mini right, So we're like eight months and I'm like, okay,
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: it's your birthday. He's like, you won't have a three something.
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, man, I'm down. He brings the shorty
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: down me and this girl argued the entire There was
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: no threesome. It was simply just fussing and fighting and arguing.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: What were y'all arguing about.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: It's like when he would like be with me, she'd
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: get pissed and then when I run, yeah, like we all,
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: we all, we all in this one place.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: She walks in the room and.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: She's like, I'm just gonna go sit outside. I'm just
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: gonna wait outside, and I'm just like gonna sleep out.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: I don't want to sleep in the back and and
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: my mom, I'm like, I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: We came out here for a weekend. It's a weekend.
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: It's one of those weekends that you know what it is,
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: and then when you leave.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: You go about today.
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: I didn'tn't get anything that I wanted because I was
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: too busy, and he was too busy, and everybody else
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: was too busy babysitting feelings. And that's one of those
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: things that pissed me off because I'm not gay, So
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: for her, her she is she likes girls and I
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: don't like girls. So her argument was, well, what would
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: I do with you and a threesome? Like, and I'm like,
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: I'm gonna be honest. I don't like head. I don't
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: like head.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: I don't like giving it or receive it.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: I don't like receiving it. So I don't want it
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: from a man, and I don't want it from a woman,
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: I don't want it, so her mind was we do it.
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: You haven't had it.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: Everybody that, because I'm telling you what you haven't done right.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: One whoever did it right probably owns you for the
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: rest of a life. I hate to say it, I
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: promise you like ninety percent of the reason why I
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: buried my husband was probably the head. I ain't even
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: gonna lie it was. I'm not gonna say it was
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: the best decision, but I'm gonna say that ship tips
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: to scale for me.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: See, you know the thing about it, I had a
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: total point where I'm was like, Okay, now I know
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: what women are talking about, but I'm just it's just
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: not a thing for me.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: You're not hearing me.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: It has to be like that.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: It has to be like there's there's okay, there's that
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: the C plus to B plus head, but then.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: There's the head that's like unresistible can yes?
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: And then you think to yourself, well, this person can't
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: possibly do it again. And then once they do it
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: again and do it again, you're like, wait a minute, and.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: See I've cut off a lot of that.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: It's like men be like let me get yeah, I
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: won't let dudes try it, because I'm like, if you fail,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: I mean, I'm forever going to be.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Fucked in my head. I don't want you to trying
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: to get it right. I mean, that's how it wasn't.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: My husband was like, he was like, you don't want
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: I was like, nah, man, because if you fuck it up,
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: then I'm scarred and I don't ever want to try again.
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: That's exactly why I think I am the way I am.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: When I lost my virginity and I first got head,
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: it was so horrible. It was just so bad. I
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: wasn't even sure if that was exactly how it was
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: supposed to go. I just knew this is not for me.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: That's how I will.
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: Never try this again. This is not it. Did this
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: just bite me?
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: No?
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: You know, I just said, what is it?
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: Am I supposed to kil teeth?
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: No? No?
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: It was bad. Yeah, And once you.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Had those experiences, like I promise you, it wasn't until
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: like a couple of years ago that I did it.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: Not that every listener, I promise everyone's never gonna see
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: me the same after this. But the truth of the
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: batter is once it's done right, and when I say
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: right now, you know, because even with me. I was skeptical, Okay,
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: this nigga, maybe maybe it was a random unicorn. But
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: then there was consistency, and.
- 1:17:23Speaker 6: I said, oh, well ship okay again, you.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: Want me to round? Where do I sign exactly?
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: I do?
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: I do? You know, don'tn't worry.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: But needed I got you, I got you, got me
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: did yeah. But you know my downside is I married
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: a whore, so you know he had experience.
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: See, and I yet to even let I think I
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: meet a guy and I'd be like, nope, I don't
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: want it. You very well could be You very well
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: could be amazing. You very well could be the one
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: I needed to change my whole life. But because I'm
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: so scarred off of it, I won't even let you
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: attempt it. That's off of the fear of what you said,
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: like it being so bad.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: That's how it was by the time I got to
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: my husband. But then my homegirl was like.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Oh, I think what it really is, said, you're scared
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: he gonna do it so good you're gonna hand them
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: your debit cards, and I said.
- 1:18:25Speaker 5: Shut up.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: But then I was like, well, maybe she got a point,
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: like what if it's good.
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: Know, worry about the baby I'll buy lunch today and
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: a card.
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: I was like, take the card.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: You said you was going on food.
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: My treat, my tree, my tree, it's on the house.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: Maybe that's what it is. I'm just too scared.
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta star that, and I guarantee you.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: I spent like I mean, I lost my Virginia late,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: but I definitely will say that up until my husband,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: everybody was trashed.
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: So and that was her argument. She was like, what
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: would I do in a threesome? And you want to
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: you don't even like it.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: And I was like, I'll tell you though, would admitted
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: to going down to the girl. She said she was
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: hard for life. She just liked she can't.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: Do whatever again, certain things I just will not do.
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: After story, I said, I'm good.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: I heard plenty of those stories.
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: And I'm just like, if you straight, stay straight.
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: And I think that my straightness stops there. Like we
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: could do just threesome, but what.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: Are you gonna do in the three someome?
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: So see this, That's what I was trying to tell her.
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: You know, there's a lot of things that you could do.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: Besides you give me you don't got to.
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: Give me had what are you gonna do kisser this.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot of things other things, but there's
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: like toys.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: And you're hilarious. We don't touch you, know, as long.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: As you don't you don't put your mouth down there,
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: and I'm not putting my mouth on you down there.
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: That's fine. But we both can give him head like
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: we can give him head at the same time.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: It's hilarious. Just just say you're not doing three something.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: It's because it's okay. I'll tell you right now. I
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: don't do three. I don't do nothing better if.
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: I let him get me out of it.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: When a guy offers me a threesome, I say, okay,
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: you want to offer a straight person a threesome, how
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: about I offer you a man and know you're not
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: gay and tell me how you feel about it.
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: Maybe I am at fault. Maybe maybe it is my fault.
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: You know, it's just that you're not into women.
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: I just felt like if you was a freak, you
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: could come up with multiple things to do besides just
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: that one little thing. Does that one little thing really
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: separated from being a threesome or not?
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: If you're not into women, just own it own and
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: naya love note not into women, sexually.
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: Okay, I will, I will kiss a girl. I kiss
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: the girl.
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: Well, I.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: Just want to say, I'm so happy we got together.
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: You are.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: I was doing that just so you know.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: Our waters aren't water, they're alavera juice and it has pulping.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: That's what I did, the same thing. I was like,
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: just look it up.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it looks funny when you because I saw yours.
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: But no, you're still trying to talk to me.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it's ala vera juice, but there's pulping it. So
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: if you see us like choking, it's so good. But
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: shout outs to you for coming down here. You're breath
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: of fresh air. I hope you can be called a
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: home girl now because you are definitely funny. Yes, and
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: now we have one thing for sure in common, which
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: is we can we agree that we straight.
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: We're straight.
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: I think society puts a lot of pressure on women
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: right now with this whole you know lgbt Q. You know,
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: everyone's being open and accepting and the freak is the
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: new thing. But I think it's perfectly okay. And I
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: learned this with my husband. Like my husband's a whore,
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: I'm not a whore. And sometimes I'll be like, this sucks.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: I feel like a nerd, you know. But it's like, yo,
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: I can't change who I am, and I just got
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: to own like who I am and who he is
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: or two different people.
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: Especially just being in this industry, because in this industry
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: you were gonna have to deal with men who deals
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: with a lot of other women. And so it's kind
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: of like I think that's where that comes from, because
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: I don't want him out here with everybody else. So
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: maybe I should, you know, like some females and then
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: bring her in the bedroom so he'd feel like he
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: ain't gotta go looking for nowhere else my girl, like girls,
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: what else. But it's just like it's a it's a
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: it's a point that if you start from that point forward,
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: you really got to find an exit plan because then
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: it becomes without you, then it's the same, the same
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: shit you would have dealt with, regardless if you did
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: it or you didn't do it.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: I think it all boils down to like just owning
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: who you are. Like like I said, like I'll tell
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: my husband knows you can't pay me to be with
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: a woman. It ain't gonna happen. But I could tell
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: a beautiful girl from a mile away. I just you know,
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: I think women are just naturally beautiful. It's hard for
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: me to see an ugly woman, to be honest, because
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: every woman I'll be like, I could see the beauty
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: in her.
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: I have seen a few of them in my mind.
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: I'd be like, are you sure you're human? There's no way,
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: no way, there's no way. All right, I don't care
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: what you say.
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: So what are the next milestones for you?
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: Just putting out new music? Honestly, I want next year
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: to be me living fully out my dreams. I want
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: to be where I said I was going to be
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: this year. Shout out to my new management Kyle and Nato.
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: They are so awesome. And just being in a room
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: where I'm tooken serious and where it's like we laugh,
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: we joke. I've never really had management to where it
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: was like that and where I felt like, Okay, I'm here,
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: like I'm making the right steps. I'm with the real deal. Now,
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: this is the real deal, so I can't mess up.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and you don't have any day jobs. You're a
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: hundred percent right now just artists. So you're making your
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: money off music and music and social media and social
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: media because you have brand deals or.
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, so I do sponsor deals. I'm sponsored by bel Air,
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: shout out to them, and then just being on like
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: a camp influencers campaign, so I'll get paid from like posting,
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: branding sponsorships. I just got on this new app called Bigo,
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: and you make money just from going live, just being
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: on live all day, change change like you cash up.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: So a lot of everything that my money comes from
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: is music and social media.
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: Wow, okay, so entrepreneur, So okay, that's amazing. I think
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: that's a huge milestone and of itself because living in
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: LA you'll see a lot of artists are still.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: Struggling to be one hundred percent all in.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and that is still a thing. I don't want
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: nobody to confuse it. You know, I don't have it
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: all together. I never ever want anyone to assume, which
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: they do, because that's all that we give is positivity
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: on social media. But I'm still figuring it out and
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: I'm still getting there, and my dreams are still being
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: worked on. So it's just just keep going.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: Yeah, And then just so you guys know, I don't know,
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I can't fully pinpoint. I'm not inside your life to
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: know where you are in your career. But the thing
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: that stands out the most for me when it comes
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: to you is the tenacity, the openness, but more importantly
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: the drive. Okay, like this, like I said, your team
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: was so thorough. I probably had the crazy schedule the
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: last couple of weeks, but the thoroughness just shows how
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: how hard you're working to like, we're going to conquer
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: this stone. That's it. Okay, we got that stone out
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: of the way. Let's go after this stone. And I
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: think that's why you're at this table. And it's a pleasure.
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: To have you. Everyone.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Go Anaya love note. You can follow her on Instagram.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Is there anything else like I'm missing? Like I know
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: there's all these platforms follow that name, but honestly, the name.
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: You just type that in and everything will come up.
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, listen to her music Siditi.
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: Yes, okay, because Sadditi is going crazy. And you know what,
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: I shout out to everyone that was a part of Sadditi,
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: all the writers, everyone, just video shoot girls. I just
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: am so in love with that song. Thank you, Thank
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: you guys.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: Peace out.
