- 2:47maybe a little bit later in the show, our intern.
- 2:50So a lot to get into today, a lot with the college football.
- 2:54I will be going to the Heisman Trophy induction.
- 2:58So I I don't know what's going to happen, but it seems like
- 3:02Mendoza is the the favorite, the the full favorite now to winning
- 3:07the whole thing and as as well as he should after knocking off
- 3:11Ohio State. And we'll get into that just a
- 3:13few moments, which was it wasn't upset, but I don't know how much
- 3:16of an upset was it, But I it's been a crazy weekend.
- 3:21The weather's been back and forth and honestly, I actually
- 3:25like the weather because it's state it's been staying cold.
- 3:28But what I don't like about the weather is it it, it's it gets
- 3:32moisty in the air when it gets moisty in the air as yeah, I
- 3:35know, I knew Jabba was going to look at me and shake his head.
- 3:38But when it gets when it gets like that, obviously I I don't
- 3:44like, I don't like how cold it gets and foggy it gets at night.
- 3:48And I did an event over the weekend.
- 3:51I was in Queens and this hotel called the DoubleTree.
- 3:56I was DJ ING a runway show and I've never seen anything like
- 4:01it. Fans.
- 4:01Hey, does DoubleTree still have the cookies?
- 4:04I guess I didn't eat any of the cookies.
- 4:05I actually had their chicken fingers.
- 4:08So they they were giving away, they had food out for all the
- 4:12the people that were coming to the event.
- 4:14I actually had chicken fingers there.
- 4:16It was actually pretty good. Yes, I had honey mustard.
- 4:18How was their honey mustard? The honey mustard was really
- 4:20good actually. I actually enjoyed it.
- 4:23They had these cucumber sandwiches.
- 4:25I don't I'm not a big cucumber fan, so but everybody kept, you
- 4:29know, raving about the cucumber sandwiches.
- 4:31So I don't know, I guess it looked good, but it wasn't
- 4:35something that I would probably eat.
- 4:36But what was crazy about the event is they have this this
- 4:41room that they use so many like runway shows.
- 4:44They do all these different events in this one particular
- 4:47room, but there is no outlets. There was no outlets to plug in
- 4:53any of my equipment. So I had to run like a bunch of
- 4:59different, you know, outlet wires to different sections of
- 5:03the hotel because I had nowhere to plug my stuff.
- 5:07So it was horrible. And then when I was packing up
- 5:10at the end of the night, I parked my car on the side right
- 5:14by the room and somebody backed into my car.
- 5:18Somebody backed into my car left like a But you could tell that
- 5:22was like a couple of lines in my door.
- 5:25Thank God it didn't put any dents into it, but you could
- 5:28tell I had to get it buffed out on Sunday.
- 5:30It was horrible. And, and again, all you have to
- 5:33do is come right inside and say, I apologize, I bumped into your
- 5:37car. I probably by looking at it
- 5:39would have said, oh, nothing, a buff couldn't get out of it.
- 5:42Throw me a couple of bucks, I bring it to a professional and I
- 5:45would have been fine. But everybody here in New York,
- 5:48and I would say this, I wouldn't even just say New York
- 5:51everywhere you go, but it seems like every time somebody hits
- 5:55your car in New York, it's like, oh, it's OK, let's play bumper
- 5:58cars. That doesn't matter.
- 5:59It's it's just a car, you know. So unfortunately, my car, this
- 6:04was the second time in a week and a half my car's been hit.
- 6:08I was in a Barber shop. What was it a week and a half
- 6:11ago? And I come out and my bumper, my
- 6:15bumper, there was nothing wrong with my bumper, but my, my trunk
- 6:18was open. So I thought somebody robbed
- 6:20something. But it wasn't robbed.
- 6:23Nothing was robbed. I realized that my trunk
- 6:26couldn't close. So I, I'm looking at it, I'm,
- 6:29I'm trying to slam my trunk down.
- 6:31And then I realized that it was like pushed in at least two
- 6:35inches. So I had to go to my friend.
- 6:37He had to hammer it out. It was just, I mean, I thank God
- 6:40nothing happened to my bumper. So all these accidents that I
- 6:43was in or happened to me, I was not in the car and it's like a
- 6:49hit and run it it happens to me, only happens to me.
- 6:52I got bad luck job. I don't know what it is, but it
- 6:55just seems like when it rains, it pours when it comes to my
- 6:58car. And yeah.
- 6:59So that was a. That was a sign to get a new
- 7:01one. Well, the the fact is if you
- 7:05look at my car, my car and Speedy will tell you my car
- 7:07looks brand new. I take really good care of my
- 7:10car so it looks inside, the leather looks like honestly if
- 7:14you go into my car, it looks like a brand new car.
- 7:17It looks like right out of the showroom.
- 7:19I am OCD when it comes to taking care of my car and all that all
- 7:23that other stuff. But eventually I will get a new
- 7:26car. But even now, even with, with it
- 7:29getting bumped into twice, you wouldn't know the difference
- 7:31because again, I'm anal. So I had my friend bumper, you
- 7:35know, like buff it out on Sunday and he buffed everything out on
- 7:39the car so it looks brand new, shiny and all ready to go.
- 7:42But I just don't understand people.
- 7:45I just think people just don't. It's other people's property.
- 7:49Take care of it or at least come in.
- 7:50Then my friend who was doing the runway show, he, it was his, it
- 7:55was his clothing, clothing design.
- 7:57He comes out and he tells me, well, didn't somebody put their
- 8:01number right by your windshield wipers or something like that?
- 8:05Leave their information. I'm like, who does that have?
- 8:08Has anybody actually done that when they've hit your car,
- 8:12actually leave their? Information.
- 8:13I thought it happened. Before, really, it's never
- 8:15happened to me before, never seen that before.
- 8:18So I especially here in New York, if that happens in New
- 8:21York, it's like a miracle. I mean, Moses split the sea.
- 8:26I mean that kind of miracle that doesn't happen.
- 8:29So unfortunately I just have no luck whatsoever.
- 8:32So for any fans that park their car and put their hazards on,
- 8:37don't park it in front of a hotel if you want or you want
- 8:41you may. You're trying to make sure that
- 8:43your car doesn't get totaled or something happens to it.
- 8:45So I, I, I made that mistake. And boy, oh, boy, do I regret
- 8:49it. On Saturday night #2 Indiana
- 8:52upset #1 Ohio State 13 to 10 in the Big 10 Championship game to
- 8:58finish the regular season undefeated and as the undisputed
- 9:04number one overall seed in college football in the College
- 9:07Football Playoff. It was Indiana's first share of
- 9:11the Big 10 title since 1967 and the first time they won it on
- 9:16its own since 1945. They also ended a 32 game losing
- 9:23streak versus Ohio State, winning for the first time since
- 9:271988. The Buckeyes star receiver
- 9:31Jeremiah Smith had a big game for Ohio State with eight
- 9:35catches for 144 yards. But Indiana contained the but
- 9:40the Buckeyes running game, holding them to only a total of
- 9:4469 yards in what was a defensive battle throughout the night.
- 9:48It was the special teams that hurt the Buckeyes in the end as
- 9:54their field goal kicker missed a chip shot 27 yard field goal to
- 9:59tie the game with under 3 minutes in the game after
- 10:04driving the field for the most for most of the 4th after
- 10:10outlasting Sayen and the Buckeyes, Fernando Mendoza is in
- 10:15the driver's seat for the Heisman Trophy at a -, 2500
- 10:20while Julie and Sayings odds tanked to plus 50,000 after the
- 10:26lost after the loss. Vanderbilt Diego Pavia is second
- 10:32in the odds at plus 1400 with Notre Dames running back Love,
- 10:38which is 3rd at 4:00. What is it, 40,000 + 40,000?
- 10:44Despite the loss, Ohio State still remains the number two in
- 10:48the College Football Playoff ranking and their only loss to
- 10:53#1 Indiana. Well, I pretty much made that
- 10:58prediction for the first two weeks of the season and I got to
- 11:02give a shout out to Josh Silverberg because he's been
- 11:04saying it all season long. That and those who's going to
- 11:06win the Heisman Trophy, what's interesting about the Heisman
- 11:11Trophy and, and, and these candidates and these guys
- 11:14fighting for the, the number one player of the nation for the
- 11:19season and for the year is really what they do through
- 11:24quarters. And every season has a quarter.
- 11:28There's the first half, a quarter, there's a second-half,
- 11:30a quarter, third, and then there's 4th at the end of the
- 11:32season. And Mendoza has been the most
- 11:35efficient out of all the players that we just made.
- 11:38We named the Buckeyes. Jeremiah Smith to me is one of
- 11:42the best players in the nation. But again, this is really the
- 11:46MVP usually goes to a quarterback.
- 11:48Last year it went to a quarterback.
- 11:50It doesn't usually happen like that.
- 11:53And and, and again, there were quarterbacks involved last year.
- 11:55Gabriel was a part of of the Heisman Trophy and then
- 11:59obviously Ward, Cam Ward who was the number one pick by the
- 12:02Titans. So it usually is a quarterback
- 12:06that wins the Heisman Trophy. But last year just there weren't
- 12:10as a fishing quarterbacks as there were this year and saying
- 12:14was sensational. It's not like saying is not
- 12:17going to get a chance to win another Heisman.
- 12:19Next year. He's a freshman.
- 12:21Next year he's going to be a sophomore and he has a chance to
- 12:23really erupt with Jeremiah Smith his final year over there with
- 12:27the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes have a great
- 12:29recruiting class once again and they're going to be up to
- 12:32winning another national championship and they still they
- 12:34could still win the national championship this year as
- 12:38they're probably heavy favorites still to win the national
- 12:41championship. And if I was Indiana, I probably
- 12:44wouldn't have wanted to wanted to win the Big 10 title and I
- 12:49would have just waited for, you know, the national championship.
- 12:53If I would have had to meet the Buckeyes again, that was where I
- 12:56would want to beat them because the Buckeyes are they don't
- 13:00usually first of all, they haven't lost the game all season
- 13:02long and now you got to play them a second time in a national
- 13:06championship game and beat them. I think the odds are against
- 13:10them and, and again, Mendoza's been sensational.
- 13:13When did Mendoza have one of those unbelievable games for for
- 13:18the Big 10 championship? No, again, his numbers weren't
- 13:22just like like 350 yards. He threw 3 touchdowns.
- 13:26The game was 13 to 10. It was won by a field goal.
- 13:30So it wasn't like Mendoza pulled off, pulled off all the stops
- 13:34and he was sensational and he did what you expected a Heisman
- 13:38Trophy winner to do. Because if you if you looked at
- 13:42the last five, four or five games of the tail end of the
- 13:45season and with Texas and what Arch Manning is doing, I that's
- 13:49a Heisman Trophy winner. Now, Arch is not up for a
- 13:52Heisman this year because he started very, very slow.
- 13:54Texas is not making the final twelve.
- 13:57He's not making the tournament. So it Arch is going to going to
- 14:01have a chance next year to to make another run for a Heisman
- 14:03Trophy. And so we'll say in who has is
- 14:06going to be back with the Buckeyes, back with day and and
- 14:10and back with one of the best defenses in in all of the
- 14:13country. But again, you look at this
- 14:16particular game and, and what really stood out is it was the
- 14:19battle of the two best teams in the nation.
- 14:22Both of them are Big 10 teams. And again, both teams are
- 14:26expected to make that run. You, you talk about and we're
- 14:30going to get in to the College Playoff and we're going to talk
- 14:33about Alabama sneaking in and all these other teams in order
- 14:36to ain't getting screwed. But you look at these Heisman
- 14:40Trophy candidates, Diego Pavia is going to he was one of the
- 14:44best quarterbacks in the nation this year.
- 14:46He was he was one of Vanderbilt. He was sensational all season
- 14:50long. The problem is he's not an NFL
- 14:52quarterback. He is probably not going to be
- 14:55drafted. And if he is, he's going to be a
- 14:57walk on for a team that's going to have him walk on.
- 15:00And maybe he makes team, maybe he doesn't.
- 15:02We've seen a lot of people, a lot of players not be drafted
- 15:05and their walk ONS and become either they make the team or
- 15:09they're they play on the practice team and then maybe
- 15:11they get called up. But the kid, the offensive
- 15:13tackle that played for the Chiefs last night, who came in,
- 15:16I think for Simpson, I don't know, Apulo, whatever.
- 15:19I I don't sue Yamada. What?
- 15:21Sue Yamada, it's going to be hard work for your friends.
- 15:24No, it wasn't Mata. Was it Mata?
- 15:26He was the right tackle they drafted last.
- 15:28Year. No, no, it was somebody else.
- 15:30He was undrafted. I came in with the Chiefs last
- 15:33night. Go look it up.
- 15:34He played very well against the Texans and he actually played
- 15:38for The Jets a little bit this year and then The Jets dropped
- 15:41him and the Chiefs brought him back.
- 15:42He was an undrafted player. I think his name's Puyo or
- 15:45something. I I don't know you could find
- 15:47that SAS. A.
- 15:48Polye, Polye, he came in. He actually played very well
- 15:51last night and he was an undrafted player and maybe the
- 15:57Chiefs found something with him. He was dropped, brought back,
- 15:59dropped again and then brought back again.
- 16:03I'm not saying Pavi is not going to be a competent quarterback in
- 16:06the NFLI. Don't know if he's his body
- 16:08structure and and the way he plays is going to fit in the
- 16:11NFL. He reminds me of Tim Tebow.
- 16:14That's what he reminds me of. Obviously a lot smaller than Tim
- 16:17Tebow. I think Pavia, if I'm not
- 16:19mistaken, he's 58. He's really, really small, thin
- 16:22too. And and he's got a good arm, but
- 16:25he he doesn't have one of those arms like Arch Manning does or
- 16:29even Mendoza. So I don't think he's got the
- 16:31ability to or the the athletic gifts that some of these guys
- 16:35have. And he definitely doesn't have
- 16:37the size to be an NFL quarterback, but he's been one
- 16:40of the best quarterbacks in the country all season long as as he
- 16:44should be on the top five for the Heisman.
- 16:47And then there's Notre Dame's running back Love, who has been
- 16:50one of the more explosive running backs in all of the
- 16:53nation. He will be in this year's draft
- 16:56could be a first round talent. Some people think he could be a
- 16:59late first round pick. I don't know if they have a
- 17:02running back like a Gibbs in this class where I'm going to,
- 17:06you know, obviously reach and and make that kind of move.
- 17:09But Love is going to be a guy that's going to be drafted very
- 17:13early in in this draft and he's an explosive player.
- 17:16He's probably one of the better running backs that we've seen
- 17:20come out of Notre Dame in the last 20 years.
- 17:22And I, I think what makes this, what makes this class very
- 17:26interesting is that there is not a guy that really stands out
- 17:31that you can really choose. And everybody says it's Mendoza
- 17:35because of this game and, and winning and knocking off the
- 17:38Ohio State Buckeyes the way he did.
- 17:40He didn't really show up in the game because he didn't put up
- 17:43those crazy numbers. But to me, there, there's no
- 17:47short thing in this class this year.
- 17:50I look at Sayon, he's a rookie, he's a freshman, the last
- 17:53freshman to win a Heisman. What was it?
- 17:55It was if I'm not Johnny Mandel, right?
- 17:58Johnny Manzel and then Tim Tebow was the last one before that.
- 18:00So Johnny Manzel was the last one to win a Heisman as a
- 18:04freshman. Sayon would have had to do like
- 18:07a significant amount to win. And I know a lot of people when
- 18:11they look at the Vegas and the voting, I I didn't think Sayon
- 18:14had any chance of winning the Heisman Trophy this year.
- 18:18I really didn't. I thought it was either going to
- 18:21be. I definitely thought Mendoza,
- 18:23even if Mendoza did not show up in this game, I thought Mendoza
- 18:27was a heavy favorite of winning the Heisman Trophy just because
- 18:30of what Indiana has done all season long.
- 18:33Indiana should not be the number two in the country.
- 18:35Now they're #1 because they knocked off the number one Ohio
- 18:38State Buckeyes. But I did not think that Indiana
- 18:42would have been a top five team this year and would have been
- 18:45really a favorite to winning, winning a national championship.
- 18:49And one of the main reasons why is their coach and Fernando
- 18:52Mendoza, who came honestly, Mendoza was good last year, but
- 18:56he came out of nowhere this year and really became a heavy
- 19:00favorite to be a Heisman Trophy winner with his arm strength,
- 19:03his his ability after at the end of games, making plays big play
- 19:07after big play. And he's he's really shown
- 19:09himself as as an elite quarterback in this class.
- 19:14Now, why are is he worth if the Giants are sitting there at 1?
- 19:19Is he worth a team jumping up if the Giants are willing to trade
- 19:23that first pick for for somebody to jump up to get Mendoza?
- 19:27Is is he worth 2 first round draft picks or three first round
- 19:31draft picks? I don't know.
- 19:33I don't know if he's worth that kind of that, that kind of chump
- 19:36change. So I, I just, I, I look at the
- 19:39situation at Mendoza and I think Mendoza, I know a lot of Jeff
- 19:42fans want Mendoza. I've been, I've been reading all
- 19:45these different stories like we'd give up.
- 19:48I give up all the draft picks that they that Jets traded for
- 19:51when it came to source Gardner to land Mendoza.
- 19:54I would not do that as good as Mendoza looks and as good as
- 19:58he's been all season long. Mendoza, the NFL look, Shidor
- 20:02Sanders, say whatever you want. Shidor Sanders was a competent
- 20:05quarterback in college football. He was he was competent.
- 20:08He was a good quarterback. And and look how long it took
- 20:10Caleb Williams to figure things out.
- 20:13Are you willing to do those kind of things to to move up like
- 20:17look Justin Fields? I if I'm not mistaken, Chicago
- 20:21made a trade with the Giants and moved up and and traded I think
- 20:252:00 first rounds. Two first round picks that
- 20:26became Canarias Tony and Evan Neal.
- 20:28I'm just saying it doesn't matter who was I know was he
- 20:31worked two first round draft picks.
- 20:33He wasn't. You got to be very careful on
- 20:36trading away your future for a quarterback you're still kind of
- 20:40iffy with. Now he's got the ability.
- 20:43He reminds me of, and I'm going to say this reminds me of Joe
- 20:46Burrow. He's a pocket present
- 20:48quarterback. He has some kind of footwork
- 20:51outside of the pocket, but he's not a mobile quarterback.
- 20:54And the game has changed. Now the game is completely
- 20:57different. You have to be a dual threat
- 21:00quarterback to succeed in the league.
- 21:02Now. You really do.
- 21:04I mean, when you look at the guys that aren't in the league
- 21:07that are, are in the league now that aren't dual threats, how
- 21:10many have been successful? How many are successful right
- 21:13now? I I mean, right now, Matthew
- 21:15Stafford, Jared Goff, there aren't really a lot of
- 21:21quarterbacks that are in the NFL today that are not dual threats.
- 21:27And that's Mendoza. Mendoza, I don't, I, I know
- 21:30everybody says, well, he's got footwork, but he's not
- 21:33considered a mobile quarterback. So that you're, if you're a team
- 21:37like Vegas or The Jets or the Saints and you're, you're going
- 21:43to make a, you know, make a choice on who your future
- 21:47quarterback's going to be for the next 5 to 10 years.
- 21:50You got to be very sure and very careful on making a move and,
- 21:54and putting all your eggs in the Mendoza basket.
- 21:58And I don't care what any Jet fan says.
- 22:00The Jets have made enough mistakes over the years with
- 22:02Zach Wilson. I wouldn't say the guy over
- 22:05there in Seattle's a mistake, but it took him Sam Donald.
- 22:07It took Sam a little bit longer than usual for a quarterback to
- 22:11develop. Gino 5th took him a while to
- 22:13develop and Gino's like been up and down in his career.
- 22:16We could go on it. Christian Hackenberg, you have
- 22:19to be damn sure if you're going to jump and I don't know where
- 22:22The Jets are going to end up picking.
- 22:24They could be 5th. It depends on how how the rest
- 22:28of the season lands for them. They have four games left.
- 22:31There's a good chance they don't win any of those games because
- 22:33they're going to be starting Cook.
- 22:35So where will The Jets be drafting at 547?
- 22:40Wherever they, wherever they start to, you know, simmer to to
- 22:44fall into. Are The Jets willing at #5 to
- 22:49move up to one with the Giants or move up to two to jump Vegas
- 22:53or the Saints to land Mendoza and give up a significant type
- 22:57of, you know, amount of picks to get that type of quarterback?
- 23:01I I don't know if I would do that.
- 23:02So that's that to me is what I look at it at this Heisman class
- 23:07and, and where I look at with the national championship.
- 23:10Mendoza has a lot of pressure on him because now a lot of people
- 23:15believe after what he did and what Indiana did to the Buckeyes
- 23:19on national television, knocking the number one scene where
- 23:22everybody thought the Buckeyes were going into this tournament
- 23:24undefeated. A lot of people thought the
- 23:26Buckeyes were going to be undefeated all season all the
- 23:30way into the national championship because of the
- 23:32talent that they have right now, the Buckeyes are considered,
- 23:36they are considered to have the most talent going into this
- 23:40class of the NFL draft. As a matter of fact, there is a
- 23:43prediction that 7 of their defensive and offensive players
- 23:48will be drafted in the first round 7.
- 23:52So just think about that. And the Buckeyes, their class
- 23:56next year, I mean, their recruiting class is one of the
- 23:58top three in the nation. So and Sagan is a freshman.
- 24:02He's going to be up there again for a Heisman Trophy next year
- 24:05if he stays healthy. So I, I, I mean, I, I watch bits
- 24:09and pieces of the game. I, I watched the kicks and, and
- 24:12I, and again, this was really, it was a battle of defenses in
- 24:17Indiana, who's been very good defensively all season long.
- 24:20I, I was impressed with the way they defended the Buckeyes.
- 24:25They couldn't stop Jeremiah Smith and nobody can stop
- 24:28Jeremiah Smith. He's the best wide receiver
- 24:30we've seen come out over the last 10 years.
- 24:32And everybody was talking about, obviously there was a former son
- 24:36of a former great player that came from the Buckeyes who went
- 24:40to Arizona recently. What was it 2 years ago?
- 24:43And really hasn't really amounted to anything.
- 24:46And maybe he's with the wrong team, maybe gets traded in the
- 24:48future. But Jeremiah Smith is a better
- 24:51prospect than he is. So think about it.
- 24:54Think about this. If you look at the prospects and
- 24:57the wide receiving talent that have come out of the Ohio State
- 25:00Buckeyes over the years, Garrett Wilson with the New York Jets, I
- 25:03mean, you could go on and on and on.
- 25:04They're saying that this guy is the best one out of all of them.
- 25:08So I don't think anybody in the country can stop this guy.
- 25:11And you saw it on national television.
- 25:14And you're going to need Jeremiah Smith in this
- 25:16tournament because if Jeremiah Smith cannot put up significant
- 25:21numbers against these elite defenses, it's going to be a
- 25:24very short tournament for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
- 25:27It's interesting because I think Indiana definitely has that vibe
- 25:30that you saw with the Florida basketball team last year or
- 25:33they're new, like do they really belong or there's questions
- 25:36about that kind of thing. And the way Indiana was kind of
- 25:38struggling down the stretch with Wisconsin was covering on them.
- 25:42W was right about that. Penn State played them very
- 25:44close, almost beat them with an interim coach and like they
- 25:47didn't look great in a lot of instances.
- 25:48It took them a while to get going and in like the
- 25:50second-half of a lot of these games, whereas Ohio State, it
- 25:53seemed like they weren't losing a beat.
- 25:54They they were not only winning, they felt like they were never
- 25:57tested at all. And now they actually got tested
- 25:59and it felt like Indiana was just more ballot tested for that
- 26:01kind of thing. And Mendoza was more experienced
- 26:04as a starting quarterback. Like you said, this is probably
- 26:05his first year as you kind of think of as an elite college
- 26:08quarterback, but he was always good before that in compared to
- 26:10saying who maybe wasn't ready for that kind of adversity type
- 26:13moment yet because the black eyes have been blowing everybody
- 26:16out. Jeremiah Smith is going to be
- 26:18like the generational talent, a wide receiver.
- 26:20And then you got Carnell Tate who Fish was mentioning last
- 26:23week. Probably will be a mid first
- 26:24round. Pick they're saying next year's
- 26:26class of talent is so much better than it is this year.
- 26:29That's what they're saying, but they say that all the time.
- 26:32I remember with the, the Sauce Gardner draft, everybody says,
- 26:36oh, the class is up and it's down and there's not enough
- 26:39talent in this class. And, and if you look at the
- 26:41talent that was drafted in the first and second round, it's
- 26:44pretty damn good. I, I don't know if I'm going to
- 26:46judge by what all the experts are saying, we Mel Kiper has
- 26:49been wrong since 1962. I mean, the guy's always wrong,
- 26:53so. You're supposed to retire
- 26:54because Jimmy Clausen wasn't a good NFL quarterback.
- 26:56Yeah. So I'm not going to trust these,
- 26:58quote UN quote, college experts. What I will say about what I've
- 27:03seen this year when it comes to the open fight for this Heisman
- 27:07is that it's been so very close. Last year I thought Gente should
- 27:12have been the runaway champion, the Heisman Trophy winner.
- 27:15He was by far the best player in the country all season long.
- 27:18But they gave it to the gremlin because he's a dual thread.
- 27:21He's a Deon Sanders guy and he was the spicy pick.
- 27:25And that's what that's what it felt like when I went to the
- 27:27Heisman Trophy last year. It just felt like everybody was
- 27:30talking about him when he came in, everybody was flocking to
- 27:34him. Meanwhile, Ashton Gente was
- 27:36putting up numbers. We haven't seen a Boise State
- 27:38running back do ever. I mean, he we've never seen a
- 27:41Boise State running back do what he did last year.
- 27:44So I, I just, and, and we seen it.
- 27:46When Gente is healthy, we see how explosive he could be with
- 27:49Vegas and now Vegas sitting pretty at 2:00.
- 27:53If this ends up the way it is, guess where Mendoza is going?
- 27:57He's going. So you have a guy that was
- 28:00runner up for the Heisman last year and then you have the guy
- 28:02that could win the Heisman this year go playing for the same
- 28:05team. Yeah, and then you have Brock
- 28:06Bowers who won whatever award that the tight ends getting in
- 28:09college too. I think he won it twice because
- 28:11he was that good. And you look at you were talking
- 28:13about the Heisman too. You look at some of the Heisman
- 28:15races in the past too, and how much adversity that carries into
- 28:18the College Football Playoff or carries into bigger games too.
- 28:20You saw Genti, after he didn't win the Heisman, struggle in
- 28:23that playoff game against Penn State.
- 28:25And Penn State is a very good defense.
- 28:26But you look at some of those races that just definitely
- 28:29affect them. And Mendoza was not fazed by
- 28:31that kind of thing at all. Whereas numbers eye popping in
- 28:33this game. No, it was a defensive duel that
- 28:35Indiana won with their defense. They won with their running game
- 28:37more. But besides that one,
- 28:38Interception didn't make a lot of mistakes.
- 28:40He just think Indiana's defense outplayed Ohio State's defense,
- 28:43right? And that's the crazy thing
- 28:45because Ohio State has been the best defense, you can argue one
- 28:49of the top three defenses in the country all season long.
- 28:52And when you look at their schedule, Ohio State had a very,
- 28:55very difficult schedule. I'm not saying Indiana didn't,
- 28:57but Indiana's schedule was much easier than the Ohio State
- 29:00Buckeyes. And, and that's the thing about
- 29:02the Buckeyes and, and, and to me, the Buckeyes are always
- 29:05matched up against the great teams, the SEC and you want to
- 29:09see that's what that's what day wants to do.
- 29:11Day one day is a cocky coach. Anybody that knows the way the
- 29:16Ohio State Buckeyes play and, and the way they like to, you
- 29:19know, depress and, and, and the way they play the, the game,
- 29:22their style of game that Ryan Day is, is one of those guys
- 29:26that you can't stand because he loves playing against the best.
- 29:29He loves flossing, flossing and tossing and doing all the stuff
- 29:34on the football field that you just can't stand watching a
- 29:37coach do. He's that kind of guy.
- 29:39He's an unlikable guy, but a lot of his players are elite
- 29:43players. They're they're some of the best
- 29:45in the in the world, in the country.
- 29:47And, and you want to see the Buckeyes play in those big
- 29:49games, but you don't want to see Ryan Day because because every
- 29:52time you look at Ryan Day, you want to pop him in the damn face
- 29:55with his stupid smirking and he's dancing and prancing around
- 29:58at the end of the game. And, and another thing about
- 30:00Ryan Day that I just, I can't stand after Indiana won and they
- 30:04won the game and they, you know how they meet in the middle of
- 30:06the field, you would think that you're to be a little bit more
- 30:10gracious to the coaching staff with Indiana.
- 30:13It looked like he didn't even want to be there.
- 30:14He didn't even want to meet him in the middle of the field.
- 30:17And, and to me, it's just a sore loser.
- 30:19Ryan Day is a sore loser and he knows there's a very good chance
- 30:23they could meet in the national championship game.
- 30:26Are you saying that Ryan Day is the Nick Siriani of college?
- 30:29Football, I think he's he to me. I can't stand.
- 30:32I can't say. Everybody keeps talking about
- 30:34Lane Kiffin. How big of a Dick Lane Kiffin
- 30:37is. I would say that more about Ryan
- 30:38Day. I've heard enough stories about
- 30:40Ryan Day on and off the field that would probably scratch your
- 30:44head as a head coach. This is this is a coach.
- 30:47You never heard Ryan or Lane Kiffin try to stop any protests,
- 30:50yet they even encourage them when they, well, missed.
- 30:52Students were throwing those eggs on the field against
- 30:54Tennessee. You know, Ryan Day has this
- 30:57powerhouse of a recruiting job at the receiver position.
- 31:01You said it dating back to even before Garrett Wilson.
- 31:05They've just been getting everybody.
- 31:07Smith is better than all of them.
- 31:08Smith reminds me of Julio Jones. We're talking like that, like
- 31:12that level talent coming out. He's unguardable.
- 31:16So you got to put two, sometimes three guys, often three guys, at
- 31:21least an extra linebacker playing underneath coverage in
- 31:23his way on every single play. And then you have Carnell Tate
- 31:27on the opposite side, who's in the middle of.
- 31:29The It's not fair. It really isn't.
- 31:31It's not particularly fair. It makes it pretty easy for
- 31:33saying so. You got to give a lot of credit
- 31:35to Indiana defense for hanging with those guys and confusing
- 31:39the freshman with some of their coverages.
- 31:41There was an interception early in the game where the safety
- 31:44rolled back like he was playing deep third cup, deep middle
- 31:47coverage and then jumped it on like a like a robber situation
- 31:51that you just don't really see very often.
- 31:53That type of disguise level and it completely fooled him and he
- 31:57got an interception. It was like a big, big play in
- 31:59the early in the game. It's really impressive how
- 32:02they've coached and I think that's the big thing about
- 32:05Indiana. Signetti's unbelievable.
- 32:07The guy's never lost anywhere he's been.
- 32:10He's the guy that took James Madison into.
- 32:12Now they're in the College Football Playoff.
- 32:14We'll talk about them in a little bit.
- 32:15It's only they're only FBS for the second year right now.
- 32:18Yeah, he was there, FCS to FBS. I think he had 9 losses, like 50
- 32:23something wins while he was there.
- 32:24Indiana gets him immediately in the playoff first year and now
- 32:27they're #1 undefeated and he and he's holding this trophy up over
- 32:31Ohio State in our graphic. It's unbelievable he did that.
- 32:35That being said, they didn't miss that Bunny of a kick.
- 32:39It should have been tied and I think it's going to be a little
- 32:42different. They see each other again.
- 32:43I wish we, I really hope we get that.
- 32:45I don't. I don't know if we are.
- 32:47And that, that's the thing. A lot of things would have to go
- 32:49right, you know. You don't expect Ohio State's,
- 32:52if they meet Indiana in the national championship, to lose
- 32:56back-to-back times against the an Indiana team that's great.
- 33:01They're a great team. They've been sensational all
- 33:03season long. The Buckeyes haven't lost the
- 33:06Game all season long, and their schedule was one of the hardest
- 33:08schedules in the nation all season long.
- 33:11Indiana. So why'd they lose to Mendoza?
- 33:14I think they didn't. Lose to anybody else and again I
- 33:16have a theory on it. I look at Mendoza's numbers.
- 33:19They didn't really pop out at you.
- 33:20I mean, he didn't throw off the numbers.
- 33:21No, it's not going to. Be the numbers, they're too
- 33:24good. Have anyone put up numbers on
- 33:26them? I don't watch the tape though.
- 33:28Every single throw is on the money in a place where only his
- 33:32guy can catch it every single time.
- 33:36It's unbelievable. The back shoulder throws, the
- 33:39Aaron Rodgers type of throws. Now you talk about Caleb
- 33:43Williams being able to throw on the move.
- 33:45That's that's one part of Aaron Rodgers game.
- 33:46But the best part of Aaron Rodgers game when he was going
- 33:50good with Devante Adams was they were just running streaks and
- 33:53Devante Adams would come back on it on a on a back shoulder
- 33:56throw. The defender can't stop it like
- 34:00they can't. It's not possible because he's
- 34:02not even turned looking for the ball.
- 34:04They just have that timing. And Mendoza can do that with
- 34:08receivers who are not as good as the corners and secondary
- 34:11players for the most part, at least on Ohio State and that
- 34:16type, it's like, you know, like a good shooter is going to be.
- 34:18I also in basketball. I also believe the Buckeyes,
- 34:21especially in the fourth quarter, made some mistakes
- 34:23defensively. They zoned a little bit too much
- 34:27against Mendoza and Mendoza when when you zone against Mendoza,
- 34:30he is going to attack you and, and the good ones know how to
- 34:33attack man and they know how to attack zone.
- 34:36And Mendoza is great. He's a good quarterback.
- 34:38I just don't know if I'm The Jets and I'm sitting there at
- 34:425:00, AM I willing to trade up all the way from 5:00 to 1:00 to
- 34:47land Mendoza and give up three first round draft picks for
- 34:50Mendoza and and then strike out like they've struck out all the
- 34:54time over the last 50 years? I would say no, I'm not doing
- 34:58that. I'm not putting my future on the
- 35:00line unless I'm damn sure. Mendoza is absolutely a slam
- 35:04dunk of a player and I don't know if he is as good as he's
- 35:08been this year, as accurate as he's been.
- 35:10I don't know if I'm betting on that.
- 35:11Maybe if you're a team, you look at back who could be a third
- 35:15round talent and that's where they saying he could land
- 35:17second, third round, late second, early, third round draft
- 35:21pick. Maybe there'll be teams more
- 35:23interested in Beck because you're not going to have to give
- 35:25up much to get back. And Beck could actually be one
- 35:30of those guys that could be an elite, an elite player in the
- 35:33NFL if he goes to the right place and he gets developed the
- 35:36right way. So I don't know if, and again,
- 35:39Mendoza has all the qualities you want of a star quarterback.
- 35:43Again, I'll go back to what he reminds me of.
- 35:45He reminds me of Joe Burrow. He he really does.
- 35:48And guess, guess what, Joe Burrow went first of all, who
- 35:52recruited Joe Burrow? Ohio State, right.
- 35:55And anyone to LSU and anyone in national championship.
- 35:57He went from a nobody to a somebody and then breaking
- 36:00records. And then he was the number one
- 36:02pick of the first round. And you see what he type of
- 36:04player he is. And then you look at Mendoza,
- 36:07Indiana, who did Indiana just knock off to to, to be the
- 36:10number one seed and and go into the final 12 as the number one
- 36:14seed, the Ohio State Buckeyes. So I again, I don't know if it's
- 36:19a quinky dink, but it reminds me a lot.
- 36:21Not he reminds me Mendoza, Fernando Mendoza reminds me of a
- 36:26younger version of Joe Burrow. Now I, I, I don't know if he's
- 36:30Joe Burrow because a lot of people were questioning when Joe
- 36:33Burrow came into the NFL. They were, they were wondering
- 36:36if his skill would fit in the NFL.
- 36:38That style of skill would fit in the NFL because he wasn't quote
- 36:41UN quote, a mobile quarterback and we're just talking about it.
- 36:44And everyone was pushing his hand size too.
- 36:47That's true too. But I was talking about mobile
- 36:49quarterbacks that have been successful.
- 36:51One, mobile quarterbacks that have been successful in the NFL
- 36:55over the last couple of years. And even though Joe Burrow would
- 36:57tell you, wait a second, I'm a dual threat, I could still run.
- 37:01He is not considered a mobile quarterback.
- 37:03He's considered a pocket pressing quarterback.
- 37:06And that's where when you look at all these scouts and you
- 37:09you're going to when the combine comes around and he does his
- 37:13interview, where everybody's going to consider what type of
- 37:16player Mendoza is going to be in the NFL.
- 37:19They're going to say, well, he is a pocket quarterback back.
- 37:22He has mobile ability, but he's not considered a dual threat.
- 37:26And that would scare A-Team, especially some of these young
- 37:29coaches, AKA the New York Giants, says Fish wants a young
- 37:32coach to be brought in to be coaching the team.
- 37:36Are you willing? I mean, look, Jackson Dart, he's
- 37:38a mobile quarterback. He's considered mobile first
- 37:41before throw. So and, and now he's he's
- 37:44figuring things out as a throwing quarterback.
- 37:47You you're always looking for that dual threat type of player
- 37:50if you want these guys to succeed in the NF.
- 37:52I don't think Mendoza is that type of player.
- 37:55Now, that doesn't mean it won't work.
- 37:56He's got to go to the right team, the right organization.
- 37:59Is Vegas the right organization for Mendoza?
- 38:02Is The Jets the right organization or the Browns or
- 38:05any of those guys? No.
- 38:07You want Mendoza to sit for one season on the bench, learn
- 38:12behind a quarterback so the next year he'll be ready to take over
- 38:15as the star quarterback of that franchise.
- 38:18I don't know if Vegas is going to do that.
- 38:20I know damn well that The Jets better do that.
- 38:23Whoever they bring in, whoever they decide they bring in, even
- 38:27in the first round or the fourth round or even next year, you
- 38:30have to be very careful. And you got to you got to coddle
- 38:33these guys. And I don't know if Mendoza in
- 38:35the position that he's in right now, if he's going to be
- 38:38coddled. And and that's the thing, there
- 38:40is a guy that stands out to me where he he looks like he's
- 38:44falling in this class. And you know where I'm going,
- 38:47Sellers, he is falling in this class just like Lamar Jackson
- 38:52fell in that Josh Allen draft and Lamar went he was the final
- 38:57pick of the first round that that that year.
- 39:00And he's, you can argue the best quarterback in that class.
- 39:03And when you go back and you look at that class of
- 39:06quarterbacks, he wasn't even considered.
- 39:08So now you're looking at guys like that where I'm I'm, I'm
- 39:12trying to compare in the comparison to that.
- 39:14That's where I'm comparing this. And, and to me, sellers is
- 39:18falling and he's dropping. Sellers could be the best
- 39:21quarterback in this class It's crazy.
- 39:23It's very, very easily could cause a lot of the questions
- 39:26that we had with Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts as well at the
- 39:28time. He was looked at as a Heisman
- 39:30candidate this year right before the season started.
- 39:32Sure. He's not even spoken about it
- 39:34because he can't say healthy. Yeah.
- 39:35And also like you're you're questioning like the throwing
- 39:37abilities with him the same way with a lot of these like dual
- 39:40threat running type quarterbacks.
- 39:41So you're looking for more of those like teams today are
- 39:44looking for more of those Josh Allen types.
- 39:45But since Lamar Jackson got really elite the way they have
- 39:49more of those other types are are coming out now or they're
- 39:51going to rise. And you were talking about like
- 39:53whether the team should trade up for this this quarterback class
- 39:55too. Like also remember, like you'll
- 39:57have Arch next year. You'll probably have some other
- 39:59guys that didn't play well this year that could come back.
- 40:01Maybe Nussmeyer comes back with Layton Kiffin at LSU.
- 40:04Maybe you could look at Club Nick at Clemson.
- 40:07You're going to have a lot of others and then you have other
- 40:08ones that. Bring us Meyer is going in the
- 40:10draft. Yeah, but again, you're not
- 40:12going to have to trade up for him for that kind of thing.
- 40:14I'm the jet. You probably just wait.
- 40:15On that, I think Nuss Meyer is smacking himself in the head
- 40:18right now that he should have went into last year's draft
- 40:20because he was a top ten pick and now all of a sudden Nuss
- 40:24Meyer might even fall out of the first round.
- 40:26He might be a second round Allen.
- 40:27He's made some really bad decisions this year in the
- 40:30football. It's like hard to get past how
- 40:32boneheaded he's been. It gives you like those like
- 40:37stuff that they didn't like about Sam Darnold when he came
- 40:39out. You know that he would just
- 40:40throw it up in the middle of the field and do this dumb stuff.
- 40:44Sellers, I would be surprised if he comes out this year.
- 40:46I think he's going to transfer that.
- 40:48Look, you, you don't want to say it's bad to be loyal to a
- 40:55school, but in the NIL world, Sellers went back and they were
- 41:00bad and it ruined his draft stock this year.
- 41:03And he should have transferred or he should have came, you
- 41:06know, like he really shouldn't have stayed there.
- 41:08It was a mistake. It was a huge mistake by him.
- 41:12So now he has to make a choice. Does he come out and get taken
- 41:15in the second round as a project?
- 41:17Like Jalen Hertz was taken in the second round because they
- 41:20didn't think he was a complete player.
- 41:22But Hertz had no more eligibility.
- 41:24This kid does. Or do you go back, get the
- 41:26transfer money, which is probably better than you're
- 41:29going to see as a second round pick, and see if you can't get
- 41:33back into that top five conversation that next year's
- 41:36draft? The final College Football
- 41:38Playoff rankings were released on Sunday and the committees
- 41:42decision was a shocker from some teams on the bubble.
- 41:46The top of the ranking stayed pretty much as expected with the
- 41:51four teams receiving byes which were #1 Indiana #2 Ohio State,
- 41:58SEC champions #3 Georgia and Big 12 champion Texas Tech, which is
- 42:05number 4. The home teams for the first
- 42:09round of the playoffs will be #5 Oregon #6 Old miss #7, Texas A&M
- 42:16and #8 Oklahoma. These also were pretty much
- 42:21decided once Alabama lost to Georgia.
- 42:24What happened with the last four teams shocked the entire college
- 42:28football world. Taking on organ at #12 James
- 42:33James Madison University. Who makes it makes it because
- 42:38unranked Duke beat Virginia for the ACC champion title, putting
- 42:44the Sunbelt champ into the 20 old miss without Lane Kiffin.
- 42:50And half the coaching staff will take on, I'm sorry, American
- 42:54Athletic Conference AAC champion #11 Tulane with coach John
- 43:01Sumrall, who is leaving to coach Florida next year but will coach
- 43:06in the playoffs #7 Texas A&M takes on my #10 Miami and #8
- 43:13Oklahoma takes on #9 Alabama. Right before the College Play
- 43:19Playoff announcement, Notre Dame was listed as a -. 2000 favorite
- 43:25to make the tournament. They did not make it.
- 43:28The committee surprised every everyone and didn't hold
- 43:32Alabama's early season loss to five and seven, five and seven,
- 43:37Florida State or Georgia, blasting them 28 to 7 in the SEC
- 43:41Championship game for the third for their third loss against
- 43:46them. Miami lost to unranked
- 43:48Louisville and SMU, which Miami was expected to make.
- 43:52I believe that. I don't think Miami doesn't make
- 43:56it unless some catastrophical thing happens.
- 43:59I I was very surprised Alabama got it.
- 44:02Very surprised. The only way I thought Alabama
- 44:05was getting in is if they knocked off Georgia or made the
- 44:07game so very close that it really went down to the wire and
- 44:11challenged Georgia all the way to the end.
- 44:14They got their butts whipped 28 to 7 by Georgia.
- 44:18It it they shouldn't have been on the same field as the Georgia
- 44:21Bulldogs. They really shouldn't have.
- 44:24And that's that was the surprising thing that happened
- 44:27on Saturday when I was DJ ING at that runway show is watching
- 44:32Alabama get their butts whipped on national television.
- 44:36But the fact that Notre Dame love is one of the best, more
- 44:40prolific, top talented offensive players we've seen all season
- 44:44long. The running back who everybody
- 44:46expects to be a top end player, one of the better offensive
- 44:49players coming out of this class and, and to not see him play for
- 44:55maybe a national championship this year or even fight for a
- 44:57national championship. And we're we're talking about
- 45:00him up for a Heisman Trophy. To not see this guy, this kid,
- 45:05it to me, it's just absolutely appalling.
- 45:07You know, if you remember Boise State last year and they had
- 45:11Gente and and Boise State, I think they made it to the final
- 45:1412. Yeah, they were the number three
- 45:15seed. Yeah, they and they, they got
- 45:17knocked out pretty quick in the tournament.
- 45:19I don't know if Notre Dame would have wherever they would have
- 45:22matched against if they whoever they put them against, and I
- 45:26don't know how they would have been seeded, but whoever they
- 45:28matched against, I don't know. Unless they were matching
- 45:31against James Madison or one of these guys, which they probably
- 45:33wouldn't have. They would have been one against
- 45:35one of these more ranked teams like Texas A&M or whoever.
- 45:39They probably lose. They probably lose, but I would
- 45:42probably rather watched Love and Notre Dame play, especially how
- 45:47well they played all season long.
- 45:48What did they they lose 1 game this year?
- 45:51They lost twice until I combined 4 points.
- 45:53OK. So they lost twice this year and
- 45:56I would have rather seen them than James Madison or Tulane.
- 46:00And I'm not I'm not taking shots at Tulane.
- 46:02Tulane's had a sensational year. They won their their
- 46:04championship. So I'm not going to I'm not
- 46:07going to say that Tulane doesn't deserve to be there.
- 46:09That coach is going to coach Florida next year.
- 46:12What are the better SEC teams in the country.
- 46:14So, and he's going to get itself a nice recruiting class, but my,
- 46:19my problem here and, and the way they judge us and I, I was
- 46:22looking at how they, they judge who gets who gets into this
- 46:26tournament. So I'm going to read this to you
- 46:28guys. You tell me if Notre Dame
- 46:31doesn't fit all these things. So they say beyond they look at
- 46:36beyond strength of the schedule. The committee's 12 core metrics
- 46:39for comparing teams remain remaining the same.
- 46:43CFP officials say that these measures are the most impactful
- 46:49when separating teams. Relative scoring offenses The
- 46:54percentage of offensive points scored compared to the
- 46:58opponent's averaging scoring defenses.
- 47:01Relative scoring defenses. Percentages of defensive points
- 47:06allowed compared to the opponent's average scoring
- 47:10offense, Relative total offense percentages of offensive yards
- 47:16gained compared to opponents average and relative total
- 47:21defense Percentage of defensive yards allowed compared to
- 47:26opponents averages. So there you look at these, I
- 47:31guess statistics and metrics on how they compare these teams and
- 47:36how they believe the committee believes they should make the
- 47:40final 12th. Now I don't know what all this
- 47:43means. I'm I'm not going to tell you
- 47:45that I do know what it means. I think fish, as far as I'm
- 47:48concerned, being that he's the economics major or even speedy
- 47:51with his his analytics would probably understand how to
- 47:54explain that. What I do know is I look at the
- 47:57eye test and the eye test tells me that Notre Dame to me in
- 48:04their conference or one of the top two teams in their in their
- 48:08conference and one of the top 12 teams in the country all season
- 48:11long. Alabama was not.
- 48:15Alabama shouldn't have made it. And I understand the committee.
- 48:18They look at Alabama, this is not Nick Saban's Alabama Crimson
- 48:22Tide. Now they have a great recruiting
- 48:24class. They're going to have guys that
- 48:26are going to be drafted in the first and second and third
- 48:28round. They're they have, they've
- 48:30always had that background. They've won how many national
- 48:32championships, 5-6 national championships with Nick Saban?
- 48:36That's great. This isn't Nick Saban's team and
- 48:38this is not the same Alabama team we've seen over the years
- 48:42with Nick Saban. But again, the committee looks
- 48:45at Alabama is the same team every single year for some
- 48:48reason. They look past what they've done
- 48:51all season long and they did not deserve to make the final 12th.
- 48:55They did not. I don't care what anybody says.
- 48:57They did not even really challenge Georgia in that SEC
- 49:02championship game. And to me, when you look at that
- 49:06and you look at when, and I know everybody looks like these
- 49:08points in the system of the metrics and everything like
- 49:10that, you're going in your conference championship game and
- 49:13you're measured against the team that's making it.
- 49:16You got to put on a fight. And if you're not going to put
- 49:18on a fight and you don't show up in that game, how could you let
- 49:21them squeak in with three losses?
- 49:24They're the only team in this tournament that has three
- 49:29losses, the only team. It doesn't make any sense.
- 49:33I understand it's Alabama, but it doesn't make any sense.
- 49:37And I I know Speedy before we we started the show, I think
- 49:40yesterday we were talking about it.
- 49:41And you think the sleepers in this this final 12 is Oklahoma
- 49:45and Alabama and they're facing off against one another.
- 49:48Why? Yeah, because Alabama I think
- 49:51still. Offensively has enough prowess
- 49:53for that kind of thing and defensively they weren't.
- 49:55They're not as good as they were two years ago, but I think they
- 49:58were still enough of a defense even without Saban there to be
- 50:02strong enough. That being said, they are
- 50:04definitely not the Saban level defense.
- 50:06Oklahoma is interesting because they have their quarterback
- 50:08healthy and Matir who was a lot of people's Heisman radars at
- 50:11the beginning of the season. Then he got hurt and then he
- 50:13kind of struggled on his way back.
- 50:15Oklahoma beat Alabama head to head though.
- 50:16That's why they're the higher seed, obviously, in addition to
- 50:19them only being a two loss team and they have a really dangerous
- 50:22defense with a coach and Brett Venables that won some titles
- 50:24with Clemson as a defensive coordinator with a huge part.
- 50:27Look at all those great Clemson defenses they had.
- 50:30I I'm again going back to what? We were talking about off off
- 50:34air and and trying to compare and look at all these teams that
- 50:36have made it to the final twelve.
- 50:38I question a lot now. Texas A&M deserves to be here.
- 50:41Now. Before they lost against Texas,
- 50:44they were one of the higher seeds and it was expected to be
- 50:47one of the top, if I'm not mistaken, top three higher
- 50:50seeds. They were three at the time.
- 50:51Yeah. And they fall undefeated.
- 50:52Yep. And then they fall.
- 50:54In all the way to number 7 and that that's crazy after losing
- 50:57against Texas, they fell from from #3 to #7 that quick and and
- 51:02that's the crazy thing on the metrics in comparison to how how
- 51:06they declare these guys and where they're seated.
- 51:09And, and to me, I still don't understand it when I'm looking
- 51:12at these these metrics and they're trying to post them up
- 51:15to explain it because it's all BSR.
- 51:17Yeah, I got it. That's why I'm.
- 51:18Making. That's why I'm bringing it up.
- 51:20Figure it out. There's no way.
- 51:22Ask me. As an economics.
- 51:23Teacher here's. My economics follow the money.
- 51:27You get $4 million as a conference for your team, making
- 51:32the College Football Playoff 4 million.
- 51:35The ACC could not put their champion in because Duke upset
- 51:41#17 at the time, Virginia, that put James Madison, who was
- 51:46ranked like 25th or something before they won their
- 51:49conference. So probably 2425.
- 51:52They get in by default. So now one less spot is
- 51:57available for a team like Notre Dame.
- 51:59So now you're kind of stuck between those three teams for
- 52:03two spots. And there's the ACC saying, hey,
- 52:08Notre Dame doesn't have a conference, right?
- 52:10We need that money. Here's our marketing power
- 52:14behind getting that money. Put Miami in.
- 52:17Miami was not expected to make it, Errol.
- 52:20They a million things had to go right in the last two weeks of
- 52:23the season. I know you're right.
- 52:25I honestly, I felt the same way. I thought I, I thought there was
- 52:28I and. I agree with you and I, I know a
- 52:30lot of things had to go right and I know where you're going to
- 52:32go with this because a lot of people said that.
- 52:34But I thought unless some catastrophical thing happened in
- 52:39the the in, in the last week, I thought Miami was going to sneak
- 52:44in. They were going to get Miami
- 52:45because of Beck. Beck is like this.
- 52:49Everybody loves this kid and they want to see Beck go and try
- 52:52to win a national championship. This is his final year.
- 52:55He's jumped from how many colleges?
- 52:57I mean, he's he's been in the portal like 3-4 times.
- 53:00I mean, how long has he been in college football?
- 53:02It feels like he's been there for ages.
- 53:04So everybody wants to see this guy try to win a national
- 53:07championship. So I, I just didn't believe that
- 53:10Miami wasn't going to sneak in, but I was shocked that Alabama
- 53:14snuck in the way they did with three losses.
- 53:16I couldn't believe it. I was talking to my friend.
- 53:19My friend came to me and he said, who do you got?
- 53:21Georgia, Alabama. I said I'm going to go with
- 53:22Alabama because if Alabama loses, there's no way they make
- 53:25this tournament. No way.
- 53:27So I'm going to go with the Crimson Tide.
- 53:28I just don't get it. Like Notre Dame's losses.
- 53:31With by 4 points total, three points to Miami at the very
- 53:36beginning of the season in August.
- 53:37That game was August 30th. They almost came back to 1 to
- 53:39win too. They were down big in.
- 53:41That game, right, they rattled off 10 straight wins.
- 53:44After losing by three points, one point to A&M, who we just
- 53:49said is ranked 7th. So that was their entire of
- 53:52their losses. Look at the losses from Alabama.
- 53:55They lost to Florida State, a losing team this year.
- 53:58They got smacked just a second ago by Georgia not and look,
- 54:02their best win of the season was against Georgia.
- 54:05So you know they got smacked in that rematch.
- 54:08I thought that was enough for everyone to say, you know what,
- 54:11they're clearly not up to that caliber.
- 54:13Let's keep them out of the playoff this year with that
- 54:15three third loss. But they kept them over Notre
- 54:17Dame. It's wild.
- 54:18And Notre Dame's AD is real pissed about it.
- 54:22I mean, as as you can imagine, but think about this for a
- 54:24second. Every single other one of their
- 54:27sports, their varsity sports, basketball included, are in the
- 54:31ACC. So now we may see Notre Dame try
- 54:37to pull out of the ACC in all their other sports.
- 54:40This. There's a lot of people upset,
- 54:42well trying to make a statement and I don't know if.
- 54:45It's one that they can necessarily win because I
- 54:47they're trying to do it for their own values.
- 54:48I know Texas used to do that in the past with the Longhorn
- 54:51Network and stuff like that and stuck to their own guns.
- 54:54Even though they were in the Big 12.
- 54:55They were not trying to schedule anything extra because of that.
- 54:58And again, I, I guess in this in that tight of a tiebreaker
- 55:01scenario that could, they couldn't reward it.
- 55:03You know what really bothers me about first of all?
- 55:05Marcus Freeman, who was possibly going to be an NFL coach a
- 55:08couple of years ago ago, he went to a national championship.
- 55:11He fell short in the national championship.
- 55:13He was what, one play away from possibly winning the national
- 55:16championship and then two years later has a chance to go into a
- 55:20tournament again and make another run and and fall short.
- 55:23They're not playing in their ball game.
- 55:25As a matter of fact, today they announced that they declined
- 55:28playing their in their bid for their ball game, which tells me
- 55:32they're so upset. They don't even care about the
- 55:34money they're going to get on that ball game.
- 55:36They'd rather not play. They'd rather not even show up
- 55:38to the game. You have a chance, Errol, to to.
- 55:42Win a national championship or you have a chance to win the Pop
- 55:46Tarts Bowl, which is what they would have been put in against
- 55:51BYU, who lost their match up as well.
- 55:55They said we're not interested. We'll have our own Pop Tarts
- 55:58from the store for a couple of bucks.
- 56:00It's really about money when you when you think about.
- 56:02These ball games, it's all about money and it's all about money
- 56:06for the NCAA to make. And they want to stick it to the
- 56:09NCAA and they want to say, you know what, we're not going to
- 56:12play in the game. We don't care about the money
- 56:13you're going to give us, the extra money you're going to give
- 56:15us. We're we're a rich school.
- 56:17Notre Dame is one of the more prestige schools in in the
- 56:20country. We don't need it.
- 56:21And that's they're making a statement.
- 56:23They're telling you we don't need to play in that ball game.
- 56:26You want to stick it to us, we're going to stick it to you
- 56:28and it's going to cost you money.
- 56:29And that's the way they're doing it.
- 56:31And again, the committee is not going to advocate for that.
- 56:33Kind of thing against Notre Dame specifically, just going to have
- 56:36different thing now. Each school has their own
- 56:37boosters, each school has their own, each school has their own
- 56:40advocacy for their own things, especially with NIL.
- 56:42But at the same time, it's not the logic that has to be used in
- 56:46this kind of instance for the ranking.
- 56:47And you know, it's funny because I I'm reading what Fish is
- 56:50saying. To Tommy and he says, well,
- 56:52who's going to fill in? There's somebody.
- 56:53Georgia Tech is already in. Yeah, somebody will fill in, but
- 56:56it's. It's not Notre.
- 56:57Dame OK. So when when you're talking
- 57:00about trying to sell advertisements and sponsors and
- 57:02you have advertisers and sponsors going to do commercial
- 57:06and and commercial settings, those advertisers are not going
- 57:09to want to work with that that particular game because it's not
- 57:12a road to Dame. It's who cares about Georgia
- 57:15Tech? I mean one of the nasty secrets
- 57:17arrow of like college. Football forever.
- 57:19Was that the bowl games, those, like lesser bowl games, cost the
- 57:23schools money. Yeah, they don't make any money
- 57:26whatsoever on these bowl games. So the schools don't want to
- 57:30participate in them if they're like a six and six team.
- 57:33But apparently if you're six and six, you qualify for a bowl.
- 57:36So sometimes you go because you want it to be good, you think
- 57:39it's good for your program, and now they're adding other five
- 57:41and seven teams. Because of these other teams
- 57:43dropping out, Notre Dame's I wasn't the only one.
- 57:45There's like 10 other teams. Yeah.
- 57:46No, this is this is really for the NCAA.
- 57:49They're making the money off of it, and they're making
- 57:51something. The school, Yeah, the school is
- 57:53making something, but they're not making anywhere.
- 57:56Yes, the Big 12 finds you. $500,000 if you don't play in
- 58:01the bowl game and there's two teams that decided that, well,
- 58:04actually, that's going to save us money because that's how big
- 58:07of a loss these bowl games are. It's such an outdated way to do
- 58:12it. It's an exhibition game after
- 58:13the season's over. Why are we doing that?
- 58:16Anyone who's got an NFL stock, I did not even for this year, for
- 58:19next year. They're not risking themselves
- 58:22in something like this. It ends up becoming like, you
- 58:25might as well just have like a junior varsity game become the
- 58:28backups in, you know, whatever. It becomes a profit loss.
- 58:31I think mainly with the 5:00 and 7:00.
- 58:32And even the six and six teams you're referring to are the
- 58:34schools that like haven't got that, have been there to other
- 58:37like minor bowl games for a while.
- 58:38Maybe not the schools that are getting there for the first time
- 58:40or anything like that, but any of those schools that are in the
- 58:44Power 4 conferences that are lower end are going to not
- 58:47benefit. I wrote a story about the
- 58:49college football. Tournament and it's up on our
- 58:52website and you go to our website.
- 58:54It's very, very funny and I gave you my take, my thought behind
- 58:57the whole debacle of the committee.
- 59:00And I think the committee is just they've for years have
- 59:03reached and reached it. It's a bunch of old guys sitting
- 59:06in a round circle and making a decision in 5 minutes.
- 59:08Oh, OK, we're going to go with this team just because it's this
- 59:12team and this coach. I I was sleeping with this guy
- 59:15two years ago and I'm going to go with this guy.
- 59:17You know, I, I don't know. I, I don't know how they're,
- 59:19they're making the decisions because these metrics.
- 59:22And that's why I kept bringing it up.
- 59:23And I wanted to read off the college football on how they're
- 59:26choosing who makes it and who not, who doesn't by looking at
- 59:30these metrics. And I'm, and I pretty much gave
- 59:32you my date to it. I don't understand it.
- 59:34How do you how do you post something like this up?
- 59:37I know that's what I'm saying. Yeah.
- 59:39They're changing their logic every.
- 59:40That's what I'm saying. When I'm posting this stuff up.
- 59:43And I'm trying, I, I, I wanted to see how they're judging and
- 59:47they're using the metrics on who makes and who not, who's not.
- 59:50The reason why I did that is because the truth is it doesn't
- 59:55make sense. So it is BS.
- 59:57That's what I'm saying. The whole thing is bullshit.
- 1:00:01That's what it is. Yeah.
- 1:00:02And to explain a little further, Fish.
- 1:00:04What you were describing at the at the end of the season looks
- 1:00:06like Miami blew out pit at the end of the year.
- 1:00:08Pitt was ACCC contender for a while.
- 1:00:09They might have made the ACC championship game if they won
- 1:00:12that game instead of obviously Duke who got it instead, it
- 1:00:14might have been Virginia and Pitt.
- 1:00:15And then you got Notre Dame who played well but kind of
- 1:00:18struggled down the stretch. That was kind of the argument I
- 1:00:20guess to make with Miami over Notre Dame because their
- 1:00:22strength, the schedule was pretty similar and they won head
- 1:00:24to head, which head to head. It's interesting they factor
- 1:00:26that in now because usually it's not as applicable because a lot
- 1:00:29of the teams fighting for spots don't play with each other.
- 1:00:31Now, again, it's interesting with the standards that they're
- 1:00:33holding with the ACC trying to put somebody else in when
- 1:00:36obviously there's a different conference championship instead.
- 1:00:38That being said, JMUI think in Tulane based on the rule and of
- 1:00:42deserving it. That leaves as we've got into
- 1:00:45it, Alabama. Alabama has been a midst of I
- 1:00:48think the College Football Playoff in the times they've
- 1:00:50existed and mostly got in the Top 14.
- 1:00:51They make it every year, but the most of the controversy of Slim
- 1:00:56Pickens outside of the Notre Dame in Texas A&M from 2020 are
- 1:00:59mostly based on Alabama now. I thought Alabama should have
- 1:01:01gotten in over Ohio State when they did in 2017.
- 1:01:04That being said, Errol and I mentioned it two years ago,
- 1:01:06Florida State and Georgia both not getting in over Alabama that
- 1:01:09year. To me, that's like a smack in
- 1:01:11the face. Because everybody knows I'm a
- 1:01:12Seminoles fan and that was the year when we we speak about the
- 1:01:16defense. They were the best defenses in
- 1:01:18the country, Florida State. And everybody says, well, they
- 1:01:20got their butts whipped by Georgia.
- 1:01:22And the reason why they got their butts whipped by Georgia,
- 1:01:24because after they got knocked out and they were the only
- 1:01:27undefeated team that didn't make that tournament, what did they
- 1:01:30do? They all their start, defensive
- 1:01:32players sat out because they were they were they were going
- 1:01:35to the combo. Suffered an injury, never played
- 1:01:37football again, No. I know The Jets drafted them.
- 1:01:40Never played again. I know.
- 1:01:41The Jets drafted them, couldn't come back.
- 1:01:42From that injury and they never and that was it.
- 1:01:46And they didn't even let him in. Unbelievable.
- 1:01:49Well, which is why I was mentioning last week, you can't
- 1:01:51hold Ole Miss. To that same kind of thing just
- 1:01:52because they lost their entire country and you know what's
- 1:01:54what's so weird about that and. And, and going back and forth
- 1:01:57on, you know, how they're judging and how they're using
- 1:02:00these metrics to get these guys or these teams in to this
- 1:02:03tournament. What throws me off about it is
- 1:02:06you look at the coach and and again, Nick Saban or even Dabo
- 1:02:09Sweeney. I remember before the season
- 1:02:11started, Dabo Sweeney and and Clemson was like the heavy
- 1:02:14favorite to winning the national champion.
- 1:02:16I was wrong about them and they didn't even.
- 1:02:18Make the tournaments. As a matter of fact, they look
- 1:02:21so bad at some points this year that Dabo Sweeney should have
- 1:02:24lost his job. But because it's Dabo Sweeney,
- 1:02:27if Dabo Sweeney in the Clemson was, they only had three losses.
- 1:02:31Clemson makes the tournament too.
- 1:02:33And that's the problem right now with the committee.
- 1:02:35They're looking at the star power of the coaches, the star
- 1:02:38power of the players. That's why I say with Beck, I I
- 1:02:42absolutely believe the Hurricanes were going to make
- 1:02:44this tournament. Everybody said all things had to
- 1:02:46fall into place. Alabama.
- 1:02:49OK, things had to fall into place for Alabama to make this
- 1:02:53one a man. One of the main things is them
- 1:02:55beating Georgia. They didn't even come close.
- 1:02:57They got their butts whipped. The game was over in 5 minutes
- 1:03:00of the game. They were it was over.
- 1:03:03Yeah, at least at least compete like if they lost by 7 even.
- 1:03:05OK. Maybe you could have a case to
- 1:03:07get in and over. The game was over in 5 minutes.
- 1:03:105 minutes Now again you look at a.
- 1:03:12Case of they're changing the conference championship rules
- 1:03:15next year because OK, Alabama's going to play this extra game.
- 1:03:17There's a chance to get this extra loss.
- 1:03:18So we've seen teams either get screwed by that or even boosted
- 1:03:21by the fact that they play in the conference championships or
- 1:03:23not because it's not like basketball where the conference
- 1:03:25champion automatically gets in no matter what and it just
- 1:03:27affects the seating in football. You could still end up winning
- 1:03:30your conference and and get and lose like State in 2016, I
- 1:03:33thought got screwed because they were a Big 10 championship team
- 1:03:35that beat Ohio State, who was the number one team that year
- 1:03:37and they didn't get in over Washington.
- 1:03:40And that's why I think they're changing these conference
- 1:03:42championship rules. So I don't think Alabama like
- 1:03:44losing by 7, maybe would have missed, but getting blown out.
- 1:03:47How about how about when TCU went to the national
- 1:03:49championship? Well, yeah, TCU was undefeated
- 1:03:51up until that's. That's not my point if you look
- 1:03:53at their schedule. And their strength of schedule,
- 1:03:56if you look at who TCU had to really beat the whole season,
- 1:03:59there was like only two teams in the top 15 mean that they beat
- 1:04:03and they went all the way to the national championship and they
- 1:04:06got their butts whipped by Georgia.
- 1:04:07When you want to watch, when you watch it, the whole point of
- 1:04:10bringing this tournament together and 12 teams, 12 of the
- 1:04:13top teams of the country. The reason why you're doing this
- 1:04:16is you want to see the best teams play against one another
- 1:04:18to fight for a national championship.
- 1:04:20You do not want to see a team that shouldn't be there go out
- 1:04:24against a team that's so much so much more of a superior team
- 1:04:29than you are and then beat you by 50.
- 1:04:32That's that's embarrassing. So there's also a bad look when
- 1:04:35you look at judges, the committee too, like.
- 1:04:37I think Alabama's a really good team, but I can also say they're
- 1:04:39also undeserving at the same time because of they have 3
- 1:04:41losses and they're like Fish was saying a blowout loss in that
- 1:04:44championship game and they lost A5 and seven Florida State team
- 1:04:46by double digits. There's one match up here, the
- 1:04:49Ole Miss. Tulane.
- 1:04:50Match. That's unbelievable because Lane
- 1:04:53Kiffin leaves the coaching staff, John Sumrall doesn't.
- 1:04:57Yeah. So they're both gone next year,
- 1:05:00but one stayed and one left. Those are the two teams that are
- 1:05:04facing in the first round of the play and my Attack and My
- 1:05:07Attack. Is to Josh Silverberg because
- 1:05:10Josh Silverberg on his show came out and he was sticking up for
- 1:05:14old miss saying that it was selfish for Lane Kiffin to leave
- 1:05:19the way he did. And and my attack here is if if
- 1:05:23Lane did it and Summerall did the same thing, why is Seminole
- 1:05:28look still look like a God right now for for Tulane.
- 1:05:31He's still going he still has a chance to win a national
- 1:05:34championship. He still has a chance to move on
- 1:05:37and right now Lane Kiffin. That was my when when I when I
- 1:05:41put my story out this weekend. My attack to old miss is Lane
- 1:05:45Kiffin's going to be sitting on the opposite side of the field
- 1:05:49behind Tulane watching the game and giving them all the
- 1:05:52information probably giving them all their takes or all their
- 1:05:55play calling. Why not stick get up their ass?
- 1:05:58I mean, honestly, it's it's embarrassing.
- 1:06:00It's absolutely embarrassing. When you look at Ole Miss now,
- 1:06:03they look like the biggest joke of this tournament because some
- 1:06:07are all right now is going and he's heading to Florida enjoying
- 1:06:10enjoying his reign with Tulane hat Rod's reign with Tulane and
- 1:06:15now and and and Lane Kiffin is not going to be able to be
- 1:06:19coaching for Ole Miss where he has a chance to move on in this
- 1:06:22tournament and maybe face off against whoever Oregon or
- 1:06:25Alabama. If they not get not they knock
- 1:06:27out Oklahoma or even Oklahoma or whatever.
- 1:06:30However way he was going to match because if if Lane Kiffin
- 1:06:33was there with Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin moves on after they knock
- 1:06:37off Tulane and maybe Lane Kiffin wins his first national
- 1:06:40championship. Maybe old miss wins their first
- 1:06:43national championship since 1960.
- 1:06:46It would have been Georgia and I think they would have beaten
- 1:06:47Georgia. So.
- 1:06:49It's a joke. It's an absolute joke.
- 1:06:51And by the way, Josh, I give you a lot of compliments.
- 1:06:54That was a horrible take, Horrible take to say that Lane
- 1:06:58Kiffin owed it to the school to go back to them.
- 1:07:01Give me a break. Nobody owes anybody anything.
- 1:07:04It's all about mucho narrow. That's all I'm saying.
- 1:07:08I see it $90,000,000 and and old miss would not offer him $10
- 1:07:13million more to stay there. That that's a joke.
- 1:07:16I'm going to LSUI got a chance to go into the portal.
- 1:07:20They're giving me poor portal money, more opportunities to win
- 1:07:24a championship and get get back to the NFL, which I've been
- 1:07:27wanting to go since Oakland decided to part ways with me.
- 1:07:31I'm telling you, Lane Kiffin is not going to be at LSU longer
- 1:07:34than two years. He wins the national champion
- 1:07:36championship, he's going to flee and he's going to go to the NFL.
- 1:07:39Does that make him a bad person? I already know that he's a big
- 1:07:41ass. Everybody knows that Lane Kiffin
- 1:07:44is an ass. But guess what?
- 1:07:46He's a rich ass and I'd rather be a rich ass than anything
- 1:07:49else. So I'm taking the rich.
- 1:07:52So I I'm not, I'm not hating on Lane Kiffin.
- 1:07:55I think Lane Kiffin made the right decision.
- 1:07:57He made the right decision for him and his family.
- 1:07:59And I think Old Miss is going to be smacked in the face against
- 1:08:02Tulane because of it. All right, our golf clap of the
- 1:08:06day. This deserves a golf clap, no
- 1:08:10doubt. Golf clap, golf clap.
- 1:08:15All right, my golf clap of the day goes to the Cleveland
- 1:08:18Browns. And I don't know if this is a
- 1:08:21golf clap. I don't know if this is a a turd
- 1:08:24of the day. It's something as after the game
- 1:08:27and and I've heard many different players attack
- 1:08:32Stefanski on what he did with Shudor throughout the game.
- 1:08:35And one of them is up for defensive player of the year and
- 1:08:39and Garrett, who he he's Miles Garrett has been one of the more
- 1:08:43prolific dominant defensive forces we've seen in 20 years in
- 1:08:47a regular season. He's been unbelievable.
- 1:08:49But the fact after the game when Stefanski goes up there and he
- 1:08:55speaks to the press and he announces that his quarterback
- 1:08:59one for the rest of the season is Shidor Sanders is an absolute
- 1:09:02joke. An absolute joke.
- 1:09:04And I'm going to tell you why. Deshaun Watson.
- 1:09:07There is news coming out that Deshaun Watson will be on the
- 1:09:12Cleveland Browns next year. And he is considered to be the
- 1:09:15starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns next year.
- 1:09:17And he's considered to make almost $70 million next year,
- 1:09:22$70 million next year. So they're not waving his
- 1:09:26contract. He's going to be playing with
- 1:09:28his hands and playing with his Tootsie Rolls in the backroom.
- 1:09:32Whatever he's going to be doing, he is still going to be the
- 1:09:34starting quarterback. And guess what?
- 1:09:36Shidor is going to be fighting for that QB one next year before
- 1:09:40the season starts. And what is that smell that
- 1:09:42smells bad news for Shador Sanders?
- 1:09:45Because Shador, even though he looked half decent yesterday, he
- 1:09:49hasn't looked good in his first three starts and and to me, he
- 1:09:54to me is a bonafide second string quarterback.
- 1:09:56That's what he is and the only reason why he's going to get a
- 1:09:59chance to be QB. When I feel bad for Dylan
- 1:10:01Gabriel because as soon as he went down, he knew he was going
- 1:10:04to lose his job. He was never going to get that
- 1:10:06job back. Because one Shador Sanders is
- 1:10:08the #4 selling jersey right now in the NFL.
- 1:10:11And 2:00. Every single fan has his love
- 1:10:13fest for this guy, even though the guy hasn't done anything in
- 1:10:16the NFL yet and he was a fifth round draft pick and for some
- 1:10:20reason after the first round of the draft last year, he was
- 1:10:23singing and rapping in a DJ booth.
- 1:10:26So my thought here is Shidor Sanders is an absolute bust and
- 1:10:31Deshaun Watson and having him come back is even more of a
- 1:10:34bigger bust. So next year the Browns will not
- 1:10:38be drafting a quarterback in this class because it wouldn't
- 1:10:40make any sense. So they're not going QB 1.
- 1:10:43So my Golf Club goes to the, the, the quarterback situation
- 1:10:48with the Cleveland Browns and the despicable thought that this
- 1:10:52Browns team is is going to waste another year with no
- 1:10:55quarterback. So there it is.
- 1:10:58My Golf Club goes to the Cleveland Browns in their
- 1:11:00debacle of quarterback play. And I feel bad again for Dylan
- 1:11:04Gabriel doesn't make any sense. And I feel bad for the kid and
- 1:11:07he's never going to I don't even think he'll get another chance
- 1:11:09as a starter in the NFL again, unfortunately.
- 1:11:12So I, I, I love the kid. I met him at the Heisman Trophy
- 1:11:15dinner last year. He was very, very nice kid.
- 1:11:18I, I thought very highly of him and after him being drafted, I
- 1:11:23think it was in the fourth round, I thought he was going to
- 1:11:25get his chance. What did he play three games?
- 1:11:27And after three games and I've seen, I don't care what anybody
- 1:11:30says, to say that Shdaw looks, even looks even a little bit
- 1:11:34better than Dylan Gabriel is a joke because he hasn't looked
- 1:11:38better than Dylan Gabriel. They're both looked, they've
- 1:11:40both looked really, really bad, but to say that Shadora Sanders
- 1:11:44has got a chance to to win that QB one position next year and go
- 1:11:48go against that tells me Dylan Gabriel is not even going to
- 1:11:50make the team in the off season. It's it's a sad situation for
- 1:11:54Dylan Gabriel. Thank you to all the fans out
