- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to another episode of The Dog's Podcast.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_02]: Josh, all your hosts, it's Thursday.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's pre-hue day.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: And the Browns come back home.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: Two Cleveland is Sunday to face.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: Old Cleveland, that's right.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_02]: The Baltimore Ravens come into town.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: AFC North Divisional Matchup Number Two.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: for the Brown so far this season we are wanting to know in divisional play with that withers and night when we go over the stealer so can the Browns keep the AFC north of the visual success rolling or are the ravens going to come out with the wind so we will break it down here for you guys I got Kenny Mac a segment typically like we do from him coming up
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: he'll give you guys his breakdown his scoop on the game.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go through the preview.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about all of it.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns have made some roster moves this week.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: We've signed some players.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_02]: Added some players.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_02]: We got players injured.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: A freaking laundry list of injuries from the Wednesday practice report, which again, it's just Wednesday practice report.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: Those things are always lengthy and
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: with there's some notable names on there and practice designation.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll just go through that and we'll talk about it.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: So let me know as we go along here, you guys, what you thought some opinions are about this game, can the Browns get back on the right side of the win-loss column after losing a nasty one to the jets?
- 1:56[SPEAKER_02]: last week or are we going to go on a little losing slide here so let me know what you guys think as we go again, appreciate everybody tuning in.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns do have a chance here to continue or to get back on top of the AFC normally.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's wild if you were to told me
- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: Before the season that going into week six, the Browns would be playing a game that could determine why guess will determine whether or not they are in first place in the AFC North or not.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I would have said, yeah, right.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: How bad are the other frickin' teams in the AFC North that we're competing to be at the top?
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: But we are, I think the only division of football we're all four teams have a record above 500 right now.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure that's accurate.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't fact check that, but I thought that's what I heard the other day.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: And we're right there, we're right there.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: So there's, I know there's a lot of, and then you're gonna get it from me too.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: I can't help it guys, I am a Browns fan.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: I just tried and true, die hard, my whole life.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: And when the Browns go lay an egg in a stinker against a teen that I clearly view as being worse than us.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: And we go lose to that teen.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_02]: We lose to the jets again.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh, see, there we go.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: It kills me.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: But I got to like bring myself back to reality and hopefully you guys are already there.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: Browns are still in a fantastic position here.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: We can go in Sunday.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: We get that win at home.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: We are foreign to sitting on top of the AFC North once again with the Freepkin Titans coming up next week.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, if I'm gonna look ahead and write a team off though the roster, the schedule, it is going to be the Titans.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: You do not ever lose to that team.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_02]: If you lose of the Titans, cancel the season, you're done, you suck, you should not be playing football anymore.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm Mark, I don't care what anybody say.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Mark and Titans up next week as a free square.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: So that's the Bingo card spot that I love and we got to get the win this Sunday because then we can be five and two.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: That is a completely different start to the season than I would have ever predicted.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: Very good stuff for the Browns here.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna dive into it again.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: Baltimore, probably the most, I mean, the third thing I gave me as a Steelers was huge, this might be now the most important game of our season to this point because again, went from three and one on top of the AFC North and then we lost that stupid game to the Jets, 17 to 12 in which we couldn't, I don't think we could have found one more thing to screw up or do wrong in the final six minutes of that game.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: final four minutes of that game.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: Tell me, is there anything we could have done worse?
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: Baltimore just had a 30 to 23 road victory over Atlanta late on, what was that Monday night I believe?
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: And now Cleveland gets, like I said, the second divisional game of the season, and we got to win this one.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 5:04[SPEAKER_02]: is our offense.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_02]: This is the biggest question for me today as we go through this preview, but is the Cleveland Brown's offense capable of beating a legitimate AFC contender or has the defense been carrying an offense to simply isn't good enough.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: Because Baltimore against Baltimore,
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: you cannot expect to win another game if you're only gonna score 12 points or 17 points.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I don't buy it.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna have to put some semblance of a competent offense together for more than just like a quarter.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see what we can do here this week.

- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's see, where do I want to start here?
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go over roster moves real quick from this week.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_02]: So, the Browns the other day officially signed running back Audrick Estime, we talked about him on Tuesday, but he is now officially signed to the active roster off of the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: He was at practice yesterday for the first time with the Browns.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: That dude is freaking jacked.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I knew he was jacked.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: I knew he was like a little big beefy dude and just a monster, but man, seeing the pictures and videos of him from practice, I'm like, good Lord.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: I know he hasn't had a, you know, any bit of a successful NFL career to this point until it meant two seasons.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: a man.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: If this guy can find some success running the ball, he's just so freaking big.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: He's so big and he was a monster at Notre Dame in college.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully we'll get something out of him.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to end up seeing him.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: The question is how much work does he get on Sunday.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about the prior to the injury report in a minute.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: Raheem Sanders officially placed on IR with the hip injury.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: So he's out for the next four games.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: Minimum, Dylan Samson has been designated to return to practice.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: He was back at practice yesterday.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: Now, they have not officially moved to Moth of IR to the active roster.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: So we will see as the weak unfold, whether or not Dylan Samson will be available for Sunday's game or if he stays on IR for another week or so.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: We'll keep you guys updated on that.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure you guys follow us on all the social medias at the dog's podcast.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: You get all the news updates and everything like that.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: We signed Titan Devon Colp and guard a version lead to the practice squad.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: Couple interesting names.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: So Devon Colp played with the buck and years for the last couple of years.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: Was a seventh round pick for them in 2024.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: I believe.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: And then.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: And he was on their active roster, but he's only had like six catches for 90 some yards and they touched down over his two years hasn't really done a whole lot so far in the NFL, just kind of a a death signing at Titan, where we're desperate deaths per ret.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: If you followed our roster moves all the way back through the summer, through training camp and stuff, we have been trying to find tight end help.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: in the worst way and we just can't seem to get it done.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Verscha on Lee, this guard, again, probably just another depth thing.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if this has any indication about the health of some of our O-O-Line men, Titus Howard, anything like that, but man, Verscha on Lee, I found it interesting that he went as a U-D-F-A in 2020.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_02]: F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so last year, I believe he was a UDFA signed by the Vikings, but before he signed with the Vikings, he worked out with several NFL teams over the summer and one of the teams he worked out with was the Cleveland Brown.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: So they know him.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: They've had him in for a workout before opting not to sign him.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: He ends up going to Minnesota and then the only game unless I miss something whenever I do my quick research on him.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: The only game that Vershawn Lee has ever been elevated from the practice squad to play and he started for the Minnesota Vikings was week five and London last year against the Cleveland Brown.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: So the Browns do have some familiarity here with Vershawn Lee.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's an interesting signing.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: And then in order to make room for Devon Culp and Versionally on the Practice Squad, we release Cornerback Mild Bryant and Widersever James Pro-Shay from the Practice Squad.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_02]: So those are the roster moves so far this week, the big ones to talk about.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: Now let's go over here.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys saw this injury report, I posted this on social media, said, that's the laundry list of injuries that we are used to seeing.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: for the Cleveland Browns, but to be fair, the Raven side of this is even longer, which is crazy, but most of the Ravens injuries
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: either practiced in a limited fashion or in full.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: They only had what here, one, two, three, DNPs, the Browns on the other hand, almost all of our guys on the injury report from Wednesday were DNPs.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: So while the Ravens injury list is technically longer, ours is more significant.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: Um, we'll just go through it.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_02]: So did not practice on Wednesday, Derek Barnett defensive end.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: Did not practice on Wednesday, Malik Collins defensive tackle.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: He's got a foot injury.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: Khalia Davis still not practicing.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: No, he was designated to return to practice last week off.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: The IR, he's still not practicing.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's only been out there one day with that quad injury.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: Now, he's still sideline.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if we ever see Clea Davis this year.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I don't know.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't feel like it.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we will.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm just being a grumpy old Browns fan here, but like dude, we really need you.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I just hate signing these guys,
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: We never see them, then we never see them.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see next, Mason Graham did not practice with the knee angle.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: Michael Jr. did not practice with the ankle.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: So, if you guys are paying attention so far, I just listed off a defensive end and then one, two, three, four defensive tackles.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if we're going to be able to field a defensive line this week.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's the worry right now, because we'll go through the preview, but where the Ravens really, really, really excel on offenses.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_02]: They're run game, but Derek Henry, and if we don't have any of our defenses starter, our top defensive interior guys, man, Derek Henry is just going to absolutely annihilate us.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: Moving forward, you got Titus Howard DNPS today with a knee injury.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: You've got Tevin Jenkins, of course, with the back injury, did not practice does not ever practice.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why they have not put Tevin Jenkins on the IR.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: He is wasting an active roster spot.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: I've been wondering this for weeks like at what point do you continue to let a guy eat up a roster spot and not like he is he's eating up an active spot and doing literally nothing.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's not practicing in any fashion.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_02]: So why is he there?
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: Put him on I argue.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's somebody else on the active roster.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's a joke.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: Tevin Jenkins, I just be angry.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: Get him off the active roster.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: Put him on IR, he's worthless to us right now.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: Quinn-Shonjud, Ken Zanko injury, did not practice Carson Ryan with the calf, did not practice Dylan Samson with the knee, doesn't need to return to practice like I just told you guys, but I forgot he was a DNP yesterday, so he didn't practice either.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: Carson's sweatshins are with the ankle, did not practice returning to practice yesterday.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: Till and wall, a tylin wall, as however you say it, with the knee injury, so we might be able to get
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: a little extra boost at the wide receiver spot, especially because Casey could subsea almost limited yesterday at practice luckily he did return to practice.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: The first day after being knocked out cold by the dirty ass, mink of fits Patrick and that unconscious hit, oh my gosh, it was so nasty and I'm so tired of people, those just,
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: idiotic, nasty, vile stealers and jets fans out there trying to tell me it was a clean hit.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: It was, someone's like, well, that was a beautiful hit.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: I wish you would.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's like too.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: Some of you guys are absolutely disgusting out there.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: But Casey consumption is a dog and he was back practicing yesterday.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: So that was great.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: And then Elton Jenkins, knee injury, was limited yesterday as well.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know, guys, the injury reports a little bit worrisome.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to go through the preview here in a minute.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: But before I do,
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: Let's got some news yesterday that was interesting and I wish I had somebody else on the podcast here to talk to about it, but what will maybe discuss at a different time here, but should or Sanders for the first time in his NFL career.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: Never had an agent to represent him or help him through anything during the pre-draft process, the draft process, at any point so far, negotiating his rookie deal, anything.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: He has not had an agent to help him navigate the waters of the NFL.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: Now, it's not unheard of.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: Some guys not to have agents, Marvin Harrison Jr., never had an agent.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: Until recently, when he hired one in order to help facilitate a trade,
- 14:55[SPEAKER_02]: a couple weeks later, he's now in Houston.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_02]: So the other day was announced by Adam Shepter, I think, was first to report it that Shidorah Sanders for the first time ever has now hired an agent.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: And it happens to be, I don't have the name pulled up.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's the same agent, same agency that represents his former Colorado team, May Travis Hunter.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: So...
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: Interesting.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, it's interesting timing.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: I've had people, you know, reach out and ask we might thoughts on it and I've been talking to some other people like, what do you that?
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think this means and all this?
- 15:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's curious.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the timing is very curious.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: Does it 100% mean that a trade is coming?
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying that.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think anybody should be saying like 100% this means a trade is happening.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: But I will say it does definitely seem like the most likely explanation.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: So why, I guess, here's the thing, like let's, let's connect some dots here.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: Now, because I was talking to somebody the other day, another reporter, your reporter guy, and he's asking me about it.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: And, uh,
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: He said, well, you know, either way, either way, it's the door is going to need an agent at some point here, because he's either going to need an agent to help him, you know, through the trade process, and then once he gets to his new market, you know, you need connections and contacts within that new market, you know, then the new team, the new city, all that kind of stuff.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: Or, you know, even if he doesn't get traded, you need an agent to help, you know, walk you through and be the in-between you and the team for a contract extension down the road.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm saying, that doesn't make any sense to me.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_02]: Because you're talking about six weeks into your second season.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_02]: You still have two and a half years under contract right now and you're currently dealing with this current team.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: You're well over a year away from even thinking about possible contract extension with your current team.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: You don't need an agent for that right now.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: Why get one right now?
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: So the dots that I'm connecting here, and you guys tell me what you think in the comments, I'll try not to spend too much time on this, I wanna get into the preview.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: But let me know what you think here.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: So the day before the game, so Saturday, right?
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: We get an article for Mary K. Cabot, the Queen Cleveland, saying that the Browns would absolutely be interested in extending to Sean Watson if he continues to play well for the Browns this year.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: And if he leads them to the playoffs, then they'll definitely extend him next season.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and by the way, Deshawn Watson would absolutely be open to a contract extension because he has such a great relationship with the ownership, with the front office and the coaching staff and the players like pretty much, it's crazy how gosh, well, three weeks ago.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_02]: four weeks ago.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: Three weeks ago, right before the Tampa Bay game, she's writing an article and publishing it's saying, this is probably to Sean Watson's last game and after this, they should probably just send him home.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: Three weeks later, it's, they absolutely want to extend him.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: Try to ride the roller coaster here with the Cleveland media.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_02]: Holy moly, you're going to get a pretty sick.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: Almost made a six likes joke.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: I got bad taste.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_02]: All right, that was a really sad
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: Boy, I feel like a dick.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, moving on.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_02]: I probably shouldn't have said that out loud.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: What is wrong with me?
- 18:30[SPEAKER_02]: This is what happens when I sit here and talk to myself in front of a camera.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: Gosh, darn it, Josh.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, anyway, I love you guys.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: So, she publishes an article Saturday about how the Browns want to extend to Sean Watson.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: And you're telling me a few days later, now the backup quarterback signs an ageer, hires an agent for the first time and is NFL-stint.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like the two are connected.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think, now I have seen people say, well, Shador is doing this because he's trying to, you know, he's seen all this stuff about the extension or, you know, the Sean Watson's being the starter.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: They don't have any interest in moving on from him.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to force their hand.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to play horrible.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think this is any sort of, the Sean Watson, or I'm sorry, the Shador Sanders posturing for leverage type situation.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: To me, this is Shador Sanders seeing the writing on the wall and saying,
- 19:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm going to get an agent because either I know I'm about to get traded, or I can see that there is no future here for me, so I do want to demand a trade.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: Or request a trade, however you want to look at it.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: That might become a next.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: That sort of thing could be coming.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: So I just, to me, it just makes all the sense in the world, and I feel like the Browns are
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: They're also the ones that put 230 million eggs in his basket four or five years ago, and whatever that worked out real well.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know what you guys think about, should our Sanders and hiring an agent?
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see, you know, trade deadline is what November 10th I think, something like that coming up a little over a month, so, you know, Dylan Gabriel still on IR, but he is practicing in a full fashion on the practice report, so like he's not limited with his back injury.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's good to go.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: They just have not officially activated him to the 53 man roster off of IR, but
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: That decision is coming.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to have to do that and they cannot, I mean, just look at the injury report.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: They cannot afford to keep four quarterbacks on the active roster.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: You can't do it.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: You have way too many injuries at too many positions.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: You need to have flexibility with your roster to be able to move guys up from the practice squad.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_02]: Sign guys to fill in for these injuries.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: You can't allocate four, I mean, you only get 53 active roster spots.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot allocate four of those to the quarterback position when you only play one.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: in the game.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: It just teams don't do it and there's a reason why you just can't.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's poor roster management.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody's going to have to go and maybe maybe should door knows it's him or maybe he just is preparing for what if it is.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know what you guys think about that whole situation.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: And now quick break and we'll dive into this Ravens preview.

- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: The four and one Ravens.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: Come to their original home in Cleveland to face the three and two Browns.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: Ravens are five and a half point favorites.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: The overrunners, 42 and a half end, Cleveland is plus two ten to win the ball game on offense.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns are putting up the fourth fewest yards.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: In the NFL, it just 273.6 per game.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: So yay, we're about in five offense once again.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_02]: The Ravens on the opposite end, complete opposite end.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: They put up the fifth most yards per game at 394.2.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: Damn, they're 400 yards per game for the Ravens often.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_02]: So far, the season passing offense.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: Now, they're about middle of the pack.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_02]: While we are...
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: We're bottom 7 and passing in the NFL Browns throwing for just 179.4 on average, but extended.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, rushing is where the Ravens are absolutely killing people.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: They got the third most average per game at 164.4.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks to Deshawn Watson's rushing yards, the heat chips in every week, the Browns overall are just below league average at 94.2 per game, but if you look at the running back rushing yards, strictly for the Browns.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: Running back rushing yard just 59 per game which would put them at about boom dead last.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: In the NFL for rushing so not good, not good and now we're down or could potentially be down our top two running back.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_02]: Either way, even if Quintion Judkins does play, he will be severely limited with that ankle injury.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: So just
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: bad gets worse for the Browns in the running game.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: So the summary for offense, basically the Browns can't run the ball.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: We also don't throw for many yards.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_02]: Not a great recipe.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_02]: The Ravens are one of the highest overall yardage teams.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_02]: Decent in the past game, dominant in the run game on defense now.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_02]: Both teams are round league average Ravens give up about 325 yards per game, Browns give up about 334, not a big difference there.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: Neither defense is really elite at any one thing, both are somewhere in the middle of the league against both the run and the pass, both give up about the same amount of points per game.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: So, really, the question is, which offense can outplay the other?
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, great question, Josh.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: You guys tell me what you think.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: The Ravens have only turned the ball over three times this year.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns have seven, but guys are aware by listening to me.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: We could have way more turnovers with how often to Sean Watson puts the damn ball in the ground.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: He already has six fumbles.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: Fortunately, only one has been lost.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: But there have been several more fumbles that were ruled down before the ball came out.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: Todd Monkin last week came out and pressed conference said, Watson needs to work on his ball security and Watson turned around and fumbled three times on Sunday.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_02]: So obviously, it is still a major area of concern.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: I get it was raining.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: I get it.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: I get it.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: I get it.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: but it's just a continuation of the same thing we've seen even in nice weather.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: So the rain to me doesn't change the fact that he can't hold onto the ball.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: Now, why does this game matter so much?
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: And again, we're weak six into this thing.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think a lot of people were to said by this point in the season, the Browns
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: Probably don't have a very meaningful game coming up, but we have a very meaningful game on Sunday because a Browns win would put us at 4 and 2.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_02]: I already talked about this, but it would give us a 2 and 0 record against AFC North opponents and it would bring the Ravens back here within reach.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_02]: A loss would drop Cleveland to 3 and 3 and it would give Baltimore's substantial early advantage in the divisional race, including the head-to-head tiebreaker.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_02]: So we need to win this game for multiple reasons, multiple advantages, jockey and position to all that kind of stuff
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: And there's an additional concern here, Cleveland lost to the jets wasn't simply an unfortunate one.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: It resulted or it exposed problems that have existed throughout the season.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: We've got such an inconsistent, piss poor rushing attack.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: We take way too many sacks, allow too many pressures, whether it's on our own line, or it's on the quarterback.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about that on the show earlier this week.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: The Sean Watson just as much to blame for all this crap as the line.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody did good in that game, uh, an offense that struggles to sustain drives way too may throw in doubts, and I'm pretty sure I saw that our average third down to go distance is nine yards for the season.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how you win many games with that stat.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: And then you've got a quarterback who has produced late game heroics, but has not consistently played well for an entire game.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: So Baltimore,
- 27:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's a little bit different opponent than New York, much more dangerous opponent than the jets.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_02]: The biggest question, obviously, for the game for both sides is will Lamar Jackson play in the game.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's got an ankle injury.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: It kept him out of the week five win over Atlanta.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I just said, week five win over Atlanta.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't need him.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: They won with Tyler Huntley and I thought for sure Kevin Stephanski down there in Atlanta would be able to get the win over Baltimore considering they didn't have Lamar Jackson.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: The Falcons had been hot for the last couple of weeks and Kevin Stephanski is so familiar with Tyler Huntley.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like he was on your roster, but I think it really does speak to just the Ravens.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: I know they got new coaching staff.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: They fired John Harbour, they brought in mentor like all this stuff, everything's different and it's changed.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: They're good team.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: They're always a good team, and they still are a good team.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: So as of yesterday on Wednesday, Lamar Jackson was still considered day to day, he did not practice on Wednesday, but that's not, you know, that was to be expected.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm seeing reports, Baltimore is hopeful, and there is a, what did it, what did the tweet say?
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Good chance or something like that, that Lamar does return against Cleveland.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: But,
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: And that is one we got to watch as the week goes on because it changes a lot of things about this match.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: If Lamar plays, the Browns have to prepare for the most difficult quarterback running back combination in all the football.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_02]: If Lamar doesn't play, the Browns have to face Tyler Huntley, who he's nowhere near as explosive.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: But he's demonstrated time and time again here in this league, even against us, like he can hold down the fort and win you again if you're in Baltimore anyway.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: So Tyler Huntley was really good when it mattered against his land at 24 32 201 and two passing touchdowns.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: He let a 71 yard touchdown drive late in the regulation connecting with Devonta's walker for the touchdown and then he ran for the winning touchdown in over time.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, the Browns they simply cannot assume that the
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: And the Ravens offense is going to just collapse without Lamar Jackson.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to be okay either way, but I guess the big question then next is, would you rather face an injured Lamar Jackson or a healthy taller hunting because even if Lamar Jackson plays in this game, he will not be 100%.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: You will not see the 100% effectiveness of Lamar Jackson the explosion, the escape ability, the stuff that makes him so elite, that stuff will not be at 100% if he plays in this game.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: So is it better for the Brown's defensive line to face a hobbled Lamar or would you rather him not play it all and go up against the healthy taller hunt?
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's a good, a good debate question and I do want you guys to chime in the comments and let me know what you think about that.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: Derek Henry, that is the one dude that Cleveland has got to stop on defense and the way, the way that Braille and Allen just diced us up, carved us up, ran right through us, does not make me optimistic about what Derek Henry is going to do.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: The Ravens offensive identity still revolves around Derek Henry and his physical running style.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: Even though he's like 37,000 years old, it doesn't seem to matter.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: He rushed for more than 100 yards against Atlanta, had it receiving touchdown a big time receiving touchdown in that game on screen pass.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: Really helped give the Ravens that win with the Marjax and on the sideline.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: And this is the matchup that really, like I said, concerns me for the Browns because
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: Jets, Raylan Allen, 116 yards on 24 carriers, had that game winning 22 yard touchdown where he went untouched into the end zone.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_02]: If we were having trouble getting Raylan Allen down on the ground, guys, I know he's a big back.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: Derek Henry, it doesn't get any bigger than him.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: What happens when he gets to the second level?
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I mean, their running game is considerably more dangerous than the jets, obviously, and when Lamar is healthy, it's even worse because defenders got to count for both these dudes.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: So how the Browns need to try to defend him?
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: one.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, set the edge.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: So what happened against the Braille and Allen touched on the ground?
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: Set the edge.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: Don't allow him to bounce runs outside and build that momentum because that's when he is just a freaking freight train to try to stop.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: You got to win on first down, make them face second, third and sevens, you know, third and longs instead of third and once, third and two, because then they're just going to turn around hand to him and pound it away.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: You got to win on first down.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: you got to tackle collectively.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_02]: He's too physical.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_02]: You can't rely on just one guy to bring him down all the time.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: Game tackle, collective, get to the ball, bring him down.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise, he will just plant you into the ground.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: Let's hear a great delpit who, uh, he'll truck stick you and give you the two little, right?
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: I love that play.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of history between the Browns and the Ravens, obviously, and we might go through some that if I have time.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: The last time to Sean Watson played against the Ravens, obviously, was that second half miracle, where he was so great, and I think that's what kept Browns fans, at least optimistic about his potential with the team.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_02]: After that 20, 23 season, of course, that is all shown not to be the case anymore, but well, you never know what you're going to get in a Ravens Browns matchup.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_02]: So we got to have, you know, strong performance is from Carson's Swesinger, if he plays.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_02]: If Carson's Swesinger doesn't play, I'm very concerned about this defense.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_02]: Quincy Williams has been a man on fire, just playing absolutely possessed, and I love it.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_02]: Grant Delpit, like I just said, those guys are gonna be huge in this one, and then obviously the defensive line, whoever's available, I don't even know, but significant injuries on that D-line,
- 33:24[SPEAKER_02]: it's it's crazy because again going back to the injury report.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_02]: Defensive to masonry and Malik Collins, Mike Hall, Clea Davis, all not practicing.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: Derek Barnett, not practicing at the edge position Carson, Swesinger, not practicing at the linebacker.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: These concerns are are huge for the Browns and their status for Sunday is going to be major.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: Right tackle again, Titus Howard, not practicing quenchon, Judkins, Dylan Samson, nobody's practicing.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: yet.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: Now that was only Wednesday.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I'm recording this Thursday morning.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe some of these guys get on the field and limit a fashion today and buy Friday's practice report they're good to go.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's the hope.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: But say even 80% of those guys don't suit up on Sunday, it's going to be a big deal.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_02]: We need our interior defensive linemen to control the line of skirmish against Derek Henry of Graham Collins Hall.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: I
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: Clea Davis will not be there, so it doesn't matter.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: But if Graham Collins and Hall are not available or they're limited, that is a huge advantage for the Baltimore Ravens.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_02]: The Edge Rush got a deliver on this.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: Isaiah McGuire, Derek Barnett, if he's available, they've been generating huge pressure, but this week the Browns need more than just pressures.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: We need tackles for loss.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: We need sacks.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: We need huge disruptive plays.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: Against Lamar Jackson, if he's out there maintaining Rush Lane Discipline, that is essential.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: It always is.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: Defensive N can beat his blocker and still give up a 20-yard scramble if you lose the contain.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_02]: Against Tyler Huntley, if that's the quarterback on Sunday, we got to be more aggressive about forcing him into obvious passing situations.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_02]: Because again, he can get the job done, but he is not the passer.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: He's not the quarterback.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: He's nowhere near the level of Lamar Jackson.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_02]: Now as far as Baltimore's passing weapons on offense, Zay Flowers.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: We struggled against Garrett Wilson last week, Zay Flowers is going to hurt us.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: Baltimore's most dynamic receiver, speed, quickness, yards after the catchability, make him a threat on screens, crossing routes, deep shots.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_02]: He is what Casey can set up on, we're hoping will be for the Browns.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be an issue.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_02]: I would expect to use Denzel Ward against him as frequently as possible, making sure that the underneath the fenders can tackle him like immediately when he gets the ball, but this guy is so good.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's a big worry.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_02]: Rashad Bateman.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm never really too worried about him.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: But he is a vertical receiver who can stretch the coverage and, you know, what?
- 35:48[SPEAKER_02]: Rashad Bateman's a guy that can catch one pass in a game, but it's a 63-year touchdown.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not like, you know, if you play fancy football, nobody cares about Rashad Bateman.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_02]: But in a real NFL situation, he does pose a threat to the defense.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: Mark Andrews their tight end.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_02]: We all know about him.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: He's still a very dangerous red zone third-down target week five He had a couple big mistakes and that one.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_02]: He had a fumble that was returned for a touchdown He dropped a touchdown opportunity But then you know like last year and Cleveland we saw him take the fourth and one QB sneak
- 36:25[SPEAKER_02]: around the end and take it for a really long touchdown, which ended up putting them ahead and we lost that game.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: So they've got players.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: We really need to be worrying about the matchup to watch just set it ward for his flowers.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: You got to eliminate as many explosive opportunities for this guy as possible.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_02]: If we can contain Zay Flowers and force the Ravens to win through the secondary receiving options, okay.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_02]: becomes a little easier to vote additional resources to stopping Derrick Henry because you're not as concerned about and I'm not trying to like downplay the Ravens other receivers is just their overall receiving corps is not what the brones for instance have right now I'm you know as long as KC's out there.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: But then you consider two of Lamar Jackson plays.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: Our secondary has got to face the additional problem of their receivers getting open when the coverage breaks down during the quarterback scrambles.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's just something that always have to be paying attention to when you're facing Lamar Jackson.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the Ravens defense, okay?
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: New identity here, under head, new head coach, Jesse Mentor, one of the biggest offseason changes.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_02]: got the new head coach replaced John Harble, mentor came in after being the Chargers defensive coordinator and Baltimore has continued emphasizing their discipline to aggressive defensive football.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_02]: Offensively they hired Declan Doyle as a coordinator and that seems to be going pretty well for them.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_02]: This isn't the same Ravens team that we have become accustomed to in years past because obviously they had Todd Munkin as they're offensive coordinator who is now our head coach.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: One guy that I am always concerned about when we play the Ravens is Kyle Hamilton.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: One of the most versatile defensive backs in football, they can align him.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_02]: Deep, near the line of scrimmage, in coverage against tight ends, doesn't really matter, and the way that I forget his name, Brownlee, whatever the safety for New York last week, the way they used him.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: in the blitz and bringing pressure on the quarterback.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: I could see Kyle Hamilton being used very similarly, considering we can't handle a past rush, very well at all on offense.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I've been telling people all week, like if I, if I wasn't opposing defensive coordinator, and I knew I was facing the Browns, well, they can't run the ball.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: So I would just load the box, stop the run, put them in second and third and long,
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: Game over, as long as you can score your self on offense and put points on the board, don't worry about them beating you with the past, or I was like,
- 38:54[SPEAKER_02]: Let's decrap out of him.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_02]: They can't handle it.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_02]: So that's what I expect to see a lot of, moving forward, not just from the Ravens, but from any team that's got even a remotely intelligent defensive coordinator.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: Rokuan Smith, that's the quarterback of the Ravens defense.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: He reads the run extremely well.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: He can close passing windows over the middle, Marlon Humphrey.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's an experienced physical quarterback.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_02]: He can challenge our receivers, Tray Hendrickson, major past rush thread who returned to full practice after missing time with a finger surgery,
- 39:24[SPEAKER_02]: So, his availability will be especially concerning given Cleveland's past protection problems like I just mentioned.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_02]: He was a full participant of practice on Wednesday, so he should be out there.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: Now, on defense for the Ravens, where are they weak?
- 39:39[SPEAKER_02]: The Falcons did find opportunities against them on third and long, particularly targeting Drake London.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: sounds pretty good for Denzel Boston.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_02]: Baltimore's defense also has some difficulty getting off the field during extended Atlanta drives.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: So if we can, I don't know, sustain some long drives, which just has not been our foretail on offense, we will see how it goes.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: But it does give Cleveland's offense a little bit of hope.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_02]: There's a major difference between finding holes in their coverage and actually having enough time to throw into them, which brings us to the Brown's biggest problem.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's our offensive line is becoming a bit of a concern against the jets.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: There were eight sacks allowed, again, only three of those got attributed to the offensive line and or running back tight ends, so that means five of those were on to Sean Watson.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if...
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: The line is necessarily the biggest issue.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think the line combined, or I should just say the past protection, let's just put it that way.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_02]: Past protection across the board, combined with Deshawn Watson's inability to recognize where a rusher is coming from and all this kind of stuff, it's a big weakness for us.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: Coming off an eight-sat game, you know, like I just said, you gotta go against Trey Hendricks and now.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_02]: The protection is going to have to hold up better.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_02]: The Sean Watson's going to have to do a better job back there, evading the pressure or at least recognizing where the free rushers are coming from, so we can get some quick passes out fast to the guys who are open.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_02]: If you don't recognize where the open man in the offense is going to be, then there's not a whole hell of a lot we can do.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: Our offensive line again, struggling with communication where we're now dealing with injuries, individual blocking assignments aren't that great.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: I was talking to Mac Blank again, and go check him out.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_02]: Give him a follow at the obuffalo on X.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_02]: He does great work on his threads in this film breakdown.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_02]: He said, listen, for everybody that wants to continue saying that Quinshawn Judd can sucks and Quinshawn Judd can't run and he's has no vision.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_02]: And he's this and that, he said, watch the film.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: The film shows you that the Brown's offensive line in the run game is missing a miscommunicating and we're missing the correct assignments.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: We are doubling the wrong guys at times like we're having confusion on who we're supposed to be blocking.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: If you've got two offensive linemen who both think they're supposed to block the same guy incorrectly, that leaves at least one other guy completely free.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: And that blows up the entire run play right there from the jump.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm with Mac, and I trust his film expertise and everything that he sees.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he is an exes and owes subant.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: And he says, look, this is not a Quintian judge can's problem.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_02]: It is offensive line.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: back to the passing game, though, if you're quarterback's constantly getting pressured, you know, you gotta do more quick game concepts, screens to the running backs and the receivers, additional tight end help and protection if they can provide it.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: You gotta move the pocket a little bit to help, you know, give to Sean Watson a little more time and breathing room, more play action from credible rushing formations, like running 70, what are we at now, 78%?
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think now after week five, the browns are the clear cut.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: leader in the NFL in most plays run out of shot gun and I believe it's 78% it's ridiculous and they got a knock it off.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot simply continue to ask to Sean Watson to drop back hold the football and hope someone gets open because that is not a recipe for success especially against Baltimore where that approach could be a disaster.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: And for me on offense, I'm scream and scream and scream at the TV.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: Denzel Boston has got to be more of a focal point.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_02]: He has emerged as one of the most encouraging parts of our offense.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's leading all rookie receivers in receiving yards.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he is putting up elite level numbers early on in his rookie career here.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_02]: 55 yard touchdown against Tampa Bay.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: Motin' the important plays against Carolina.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: Scored are only touchdown against the Jess.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_02]: He's no longer just like a rookie with upside.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: He's becoming our number one wide receiver, and probably our most important offensive players since we're not going to use Harold Fanon, so it's got to go through Denzel Boston, okay?
- 43:56[SPEAKER_02]: Raven's second area is good, but Boston's size and ability went down field should create some opportunities like we saw with Drake London.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'd like to see the manufacturing targets for him as to just waiting for a play where Deshawn actually sees him or there's enough time to get the ball off like actually start drawing up plays to get the ball.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_02]: Two Denzel Boston.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_02]: And if I don't expect it to happen, but if Casey could see on his cleared after that head injury against the jets, his speed and his ability with the motion could help create space for Boston and Harold Fannon Jr.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully Casey's available again, I wouldn't count on it.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_02]: Those injuries or those concussions usually hold guys out for at least a week, if not more.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_02]: Now, one of the last things I want to talk about, the Todd Munk and revenge game, that whole angle here.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: He was their O.C.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_02]: again for last three years before becoming our head coach.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_02]: He knows Lamar Jackson.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: He knows Derek Henry.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: He knows many of Baltimore's offensive personnel.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: He knows a flower.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_02]: He understands what makes them so good.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_02]: What makes that rushing attack so difficult to defend because he worked with it.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_02]: He designed it.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_02]: He helped these guys play at a high level for the last three years.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: But the advantage also works both ways.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: They have familiar Rarity and Baltimore with Todd Munkin, his offensive philosophies.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: Even though Cleveland's personnel system, they're not identical to the Ravens.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: And we don't have the same.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be a little different.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: But which is the bigger advantage?
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: Todd Munkin's familiar Rarity with Baltimore, or Baltimore, and they're familiar Rarity with Todd Munkin.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's an interesting, back and forth coaching chess match here.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know what you guys think is maybe the bigger advantage.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_02]: You know, five quick keys here to victory for the Browns.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: Stock, Derek Henry.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: Just do not let him go Braille on Allen on you.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: And that's pretty weird to say, because usually he would say, don't let Braille on Allen go Derek Henry on you.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_02]: Derek Henry is pretty freaking good.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_02]: If they can consistently run for five yards of carry, like we're gonna have a difficult time getting off the field, it could be a really long game.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: Protect the Sean Watson to Sean Watson, protect yourself, what rushing and running into pressures, offensive line,
- 45:59[SPEAKER_02]: Give him time to read the field, because again, like I said the other day, Sean Watson is a one-read quarterback in the pocket.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_02]: If the first read isn't there, he's trying to find the escape or out before he can get to his second read.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_02]: He is not a quarterback who can stand in the pocket and progress through one read to two reads to hell.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: The third read forget it.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: He's got to get out of the pocket because he can't do it from the pocket.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: You gotta give him as much time as possible to read the field.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_02]: You gotta force the Ravens into third and long, whether it's Lamar, Huntley doesn't matter.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_02]: You gotta make the Ravens win through obvious passing situations cause again, Derek Henry will beat you if you let him.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: When the turnover battle, they've only got three on the year, we've got seven, Baltimore.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_02]: They're too talented to give extra possessions or short fields.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: So we cannot be turning the ball over.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: You gotta hold onto the ball.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: You can't be throwing picks.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_02]: You can't be fumbling.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_02]: and score touchdowns.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: We say this every week quit, relying on shipping away at the scoreboard with threes.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: You got to score more touchdowns in a more consistent manner.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying every drive has to be a touchdown drive.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's obviously impossible.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: But anytime we get any sort of extended drive put together, we seem to stall out and we always settle for the field goal, we score maybe one or two touchdowns at most a game for the most part.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's, you gotta do a little better than that
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: Finish the drives, 12 points isn't gonna cut it.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: So what's the prediction?
- 47:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean this one, this one's tough for me.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: It really is, I wanna pick the bronze.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: We're at home, we got Todd Monk and going against his old team.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_02]: The last time to show him Watson played them was that brilliant second half where he would lead the comeback and we beat the Ravens in Baltimore on the road.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_02]: The problem for me is it's so many things.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_02]: We still have a ton of operational issues on our offense.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't have nearly the number of penalties.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_02]: The penalties were way down, which was great.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: Against the jets, didn't matter.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: We still lost.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still not convinced that that's going to be the case.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_02]: If they come out and they have eight penalties in the first half on Sunday, would you be surprised?
- 48:04[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: We get too close to delay of game way too often.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_02]: It'll legal formation too many mental people.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: There's just so much crap that this team does in that realm of things.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_02]: And then you've got the fact that our offense sucks, we can't, the passing game, forget about it.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, third quarter, you must've just forget about offense altogether.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_02]: We're lucky to net 10 yards in the third quarter of games.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_02]: First half is always slow for us except for against the Steelers,
- 48:35[SPEAKER_02]: And then we're relying too much.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_02]: We tried to do it again against the jet.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_02]: We've heard we tried to rely on a fourth quarter come back and all that stuff to try to pull that one out.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_02]: There are too many things working against this team.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's not just a Sean Watson's inability to do anything for the majority of the game.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's not just the fact that we can't run the ball at all.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's not just the fact that we are unorganized and undisciplined a lot on offense and get a lot of penalties and operational miscues and all that kind of stuff.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's all of this stuff together.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I would still probably try to give the Browns the lean here if it weren't for this injury report.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_02]: To me, that's going to really dictate the way I feel about this game as Sunday gets closer.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_02]: Again, doing these preview episodes on the Thursday morning.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_02]: I like doing it this way because it gives you guys more time to digest the content, listen to the podcast, watch it, whatever, before Sunday's game, I don't want to put it out like Sunday afternoon, then you wouldn't have any hardly any time to consume it.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_02]: But it does, it is a disadvantage, especially as we get these lengthier practice reports, and we don't know exactly who's going to be playing in the game.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_02]: If the Browns don't have gram, hull, or Malete Collins,
- 49:52[SPEAKER_02]: on the interior.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very worried, especially if they have Derek Barnett can't suit up.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_02]: If Carson doesn't play, like, if we get my call back, because I doubt we get Mason Graham at this point already, and Millie Collins is okay, and Carson plays.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: I feel a little bit better.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: I feel a bit better that we might be able to pull one out here at home against a team that's favored by five and a half.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_02]: I love our defense, but we do give up a lot of yards.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_02]: We don't, we are a bend, don't break defense for sure.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes we are bend a lot.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: A lot to the point where the middle of that is just white and ready to snap, but we don't break.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I, this could be a different game.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: It just depends on the health a lot of these guys.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not even going to, like, the scores, I think it's going to be close.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think it'd be like 23, 20, you know, 23, 18, 24 to, you know, 21.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's something in that nature and,
- 51:01[SPEAKER_02]: Just to me, it just depends a lot on who we have available on the interior and of Carson place because if you don't have Carson, if you don't have Collins, if you don't have somebody else that you need on that interior, I do think Derek Henry is going to be a big problem for this defects.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_02]: But let me know what you guys think.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to kick it over here real quick.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get you Kenny Max predictions and his game breakdown next.

- 53:10[SPEAKER_01]: It is week six, we've got three wins and here come the four and one, Baltimore Ravens and we're playing for first place.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you guys should be pumped.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: I am super pumped right now, division, game, rivalry week against the hated Ravens.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: You guys stole our team, but I got a question for you guys.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: Who's playing the most sustainable football right now?
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the Browns are three and two.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: They're in a good last week.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_01]: So it's got to be the Ravens, right?
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: They're four and one.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know if the records are telling you the entire story.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Baltimore has been finishing a little bit better.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: But Clea does got an opportunity to slow some weaknesses because
- 53:49[SPEAKER_01]: the ravens have kind of pulled the rabbit out of the hat in the last couple weeks.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, obviously we got weaknesses of our own offensive lines so on and so forth, but we'll get into it.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_01]: But the first thing that I want to do is I want to make a case for a victory because after reading the comments and obviously the way that the game unfolded last week, if you took all the comments together, you couldn't
- 54:11[SPEAKER_01]: pick out between Jacksonville, the first game where we got smoked, and other than maybe some defensive comments.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, this game, it was kind of like the same thing.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_01]: The offense was just awful and couldn't get anywhere to do really much of anything.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_01]: But...
- 54:28[SPEAKER_01]: The main thing that I'm getting at is we turn it around against Tampa Bay and what did we do?
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: We scored 13 more points and one, even though we got fewer yards and we did that through passing efficiency, fewer sacks, timely off as of touchdowns and obviously the defense showed up that week and I'm sure they'll show up this week, but there's no fricking monsoon this week, that's even better, so
- 54:50[SPEAKER_01]: Even though we cleaned all that up and beat Tampa Bay the following week, we did win without fixing the game.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we fixed it much since, and that's something that's a concern that we'll get into this week.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_01]: So, Baltimore Ravens, the record, it's strong, but I mentioned earlier.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: just now that the last three wins have kind of come at the last minute.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, look at the they lost in New Orleans and then they beat Dallas on a walk off fuel goal, then Tennessee, obviously the mortgage injured.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: So a new punk Lee's got to come feel things out, but they surrendered a 17 point half time lead only to win by six, then Atlanta, they needed overtime to get that win.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_01]: So there's some definitely some things that were demonstrated that we could take advantage of.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: But we know that Baltimore's gritty the offense has been inconsistent though the last three games It's why they needed exceptional late game execution to win So is it sustainable?
- 55:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it wasn't for us.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see if it is for them But between penalties protection breakdowns and turnovers that all happens again.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: They're on the road.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_01]: So it parallels us
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll see what happens in the upcoming weeks, but what have you guys noticed that happen to them or why they've been in these situations?
- 56:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you watched the LAN game, but one thing is is third down and long.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_01]: They are not good at it.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_01]: So the Baltimore defense, they seem to always be averaging, or sorry, not averaging.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_01]: They're allowing 9.9 yards on third down plays.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Pentech Jr. himself completed 8 passes getting at least 10 years on 3rd down, including 3 plays of 20 plus yards.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, between Denzel Boston and Harold Fan and Jr. these guys got to be salivating.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_01]: Bonnie's a redemption week guys, get him the ball.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure he's going to catch it.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think he only had 3 drops the entire year last year, so let him redeem himself this week.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_01]: They also are having offensive line protection against Atlanta, Hutley was sacked four times.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_01]: If Lamar plays, he's going to have a bum ankle.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_01]: Baltimore was pressured on 39.5% of their drawbacks.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's a pressure weight that is very attainable for us, we are a pressure machine, and we're turning those pressures into sex.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_01]: But again, on the defensive line, I don't know who's going to play this week, and we'll get into that as well.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing is, I feel like I'm starting to get broken record with every team that we play.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_01]: Pendle these executions and mistakes.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_01]: This happened for the Steelers.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_01]: This happened for the Chets.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_01]: This happens for us.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's the Baltimore Ravens.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: They've repeatedly done Raven on Ravencrime, especially in that against the Tentancy Titans.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: They got 13 penalties for 131 yards.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_01]: So the Browns got to use formation variation, challenge defensive communication,
- 57:59[SPEAKER_01]: of late.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 58:02[SPEAKER_01]: Offensive inconsistency.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'll just go into this.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's been inconsistent because they've had to rely on fourth quarter comebacks and win a lot of games like we have.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_01]: So one thing that I do want to make one more qualification on though, we should test their run defense.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's
- 58:18[SPEAKER_01]: adequate run defense or complementary football.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's all part of it and we'll get that into that in a little bit.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: So what do you guys think the biggest obstacle is for the Browns to win the game?
- 58:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, obviously it's got to be the is the offensive line.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_01]: First thing we'll get in the past protection.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_01]: Past protection.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_01]: Man, Watson's been sack 19 times.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_01]: And some, one of the most, that's the most in the NFL Baltimore blitzes on 42.8% of its drawbacks.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_01]: While Watson can only complete 52% of his passes when blitz compared to 70.4 when he's not blitz.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_01]: This is extremely favorable for them.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_01]: Also, we got to do a better job with our tackle protection.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: We got to do better job chipping, tight ends.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_01]: running back chipping.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like we got to pick up a safety blitz guy, something's got to happen in the past protection game this week, or it could spell doom for the Cleveland Browns.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_01]: Running back, I mean, we all know that situation.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to get into it.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_01]: Josh did an episode about this.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_01]: Cleveland's 30 second in rushing EPA, per carry, and 30th and third down conversion rate.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_01]: It just, it's got to get better than that.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_01]: I only get into how they can do that.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing is, Browns aren't using their weapons.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_01]: We got to use Boston take advantage of some of the things that we can exploit this week, like I said, the third and long, but Harold fans got to get more.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to get more than one catch a game for one yard, you know, on one target.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's got to stop.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_01]: the other thing is guys here's the big thing who's gonna play if you take a look at the entry port for both at teams i mean we have a ton of did not practice this on wednesday and that's what i'm shooting this right now so this may change as of tomorrow but
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not too confident the hot of pranks are gonna play.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_01]: Next up is the run game, what do we do?
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I propose guys, you tell me, pistol shotgun, we need down hill inside zone and power and play action, obviously in the shotgun counter quick passing and missed direction.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_01]: But the four plays that I really want to emphasize for both those, because I don't think we're going to get out of those formations based on to Sean Watson, is inside Zone and dive, give Judkins an estimate, a down, sorry, direct downhill read, just go, punish line backers, wear them out, off tackle, create the fine point of attack, use Burton selectively as a lead blocker, because when he comes in the game, he gives you a way what you're going to do.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_01]: counters punish Baltimore linebackers for over pursuing and then hit your play action, hit fan and down the field, give him some targets.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, that's the way that you want to go.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: Next up, defensive game plan.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_01]: We got to stop a Derek Henry.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we've done a good job of that.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, two times in the last five times we've played them, we've held them under 23 yards, we hold them under 70 yards one time and then the last two, the other two we got over 100.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_01]: What we did is we set the edge so we can't bounce outside.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_01]: We occupy A and B gaps so we get in and we prevent him from getting started before he gets that inertia up to just bang people down.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_01]: Next stop is when we hit him in the back field, occupy those A-gaps, we gang tackle, and we attack downhill.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_01]: That is the biggest way to stop him, and that's what we've done in the past, and we need to do it this week.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, we play them competitive.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you take out the blowout losses that we had from them,
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, because DTR played them twice, and he just, he wasn't prepared for that.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_01]: But if you take the games that we've won, we've had a explosive passing attack, Watson played well, and you know, we had complimentary football.
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we need to win this game.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_01]: The biggest thing is for the game.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_01]: I got keys to the victory and this is what I think we need to do.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think these are pretty basic things.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_01]: Number one, Protect Watson.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: When he was protected, he's got three, fourth quarter drives and three wins.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: And next up is a credible running game.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I say, we have to be awesome, it has to be credible.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's got to be something that sells a play action, but we should at least average four yards of carry.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_01]: We just got into the next one contained air cannery by the things that I just said, but if we can just keep them under 100 yards, I think that would be a go a long way in winning this game.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_01]: Sustained offensive drives, I think this is going to be the toughest one we want to convert on at least 40% of our third downs, and we just haven't done that.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_01]: Other, I think maybe against the sailors we did, I don't have that in front of me.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_01]: Next of all, get Harold Finn and Junior involved.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_01]: Get him a touchdown.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_01]: I need six to eight targets his way and at least one touchdown.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_01]: And next up, one of those things with Harold Finn, Junior, Finn is drives, get Harold Finn and Junior a touchdown.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_01]: But we need at least three touchdowns this game.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_01]: Offensive touchdowns, but defensive don't hurt.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_01]: So my prediction, somebody's in a win this game, 23, 20.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like that's what they do at Cleveland.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_01]: Um, biggest thing is the Ravens, they're four and one, they're not playing dominant football.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_01]: They've had the pull out, uh, some wins at the end by one possession in the last three games.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_01]: And they've had protection issues and they've been on discipline.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_01]: And that's something that can bite you in the ass on the road.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_01]: The Cleveland Brown showed that they are a gritty that they can win close games, especially at home.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_01]: So Todd Monkin does not need to reinvent the football.
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_01]: He just needs to simplify some blocking assignments, get, judgekins, get, estimate, downhill and use Burton when it helps.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_01]: Use and build the play action game around the pistol and the shotgun, so we can take advantage of our playmakers.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_01]: Defensively, just be the same.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_01]: But the Browns can beat Baltimore.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_01]: They've got to really pick up the game from the last week, and they've got to use the explosive passing game, and that will come with complimentary football.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_01]: Because if we run it, set up the play action, get Denzel Boston down the field.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think we got a good shot to win this game.
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_01]: So let's go Brownies.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_01]: I got one more thing to talk about.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_01]: If you are coming in to Cleveland for the game, the Avon Browns Bakters.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, Avon Lake Browns Bakters are having a car show Saturday, 11am to 4pm.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's this Saturday, October 17th.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_01]: There will be a Browns alumni there.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_01]: Giveaways, it's kid friendly, and there's gonna be awards for the best car.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_01]: So this is at Tailgator's Bar and Grill, 3349.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_01]: Nine Lakewood, Avon Lake, Ohio.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that's by the Avon Lake Browns Bakkers.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's a car show.
- 1:05:26[SPEAKER_01]: So it'll be like the Bakker Bash.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit early.
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_01]: Go out, have a good time.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_01]: Get ready, talk about the Browns.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_01]: And let's go Brownies.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_01]: Beat those ravens.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_01]: Woo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo
- 1:05:40[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_02]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_02]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_02]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_02]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_02]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_02]: So if you think the public is wrong and the Browns can make the playoffs in Todd Munkins first year, or Casey Concepcion, Denzel Boston, one of those guys can win offensive rookie of the year.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_02]: You can take the other side of the market and then if you're right, that's a big payout for you.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not just sports either.
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_02]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_02]: It works like this.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_02]: Simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_02]: So if you trust your takes and instincts and I know you guys do, go check out how she

- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_02]: Getting together for some games and all that stuff, the Nashville trip's going to be a lot of fun for everybody that's going down there.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_02]: And man, like football season, there is nothing like football season.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_02]: I do have a quick voicemail, just got one today from earlier this week, and this one is from one of our jersey dog, it was jersey Justin.
- 1:07:56[SPEAKER_03]: What's up dog's podcast?
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_03]: Jersey Justin, chime in in here.
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of midweek here, you know, kind of low gloomy, coming off the loss and everything.
- 1:08:05[SPEAKER_03]: I just want to put a little note in here regarding the Isaiah bond situation because he's been catching a lot of heat.
- 1:08:14[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like from a lot, from a lot of people, a lot of fans with the drops.
- 1:08:19[SPEAKER_03]: I just want to say, I'm not really throwing in the flag by any means with Isaiah Bond.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_03]: If you look back at the film last year, he connected with Shador Sanders on some really big catches, man.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, his hands are not bad at all.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_03]: And that game was very, very, very wet, very rainy.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_03]: The ball was very slippery.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, and on top of that, this is the first real game that, you know, he got thrown in and got multiple targets, you know, and he could
- 1:08:47[SPEAKER_03]: I can't put too much heat on a guy that's throwing it to a very wet and rainy game.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_03]: You know, and at first time getting multiple targets and give him that much heat.
- 1:08:56[SPEAKER_03]: I got to see more out of Isaiah Bond to really say, you know, he's not good.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's still very good.
- 1:09:02[SPEAKER_03]: And I think he still can be a huge asset for us.
- 1:09:06[SPEAKER_03]: I got to see him in a clearer game with the same amount of targets.
- 1:09:10[SPEAKER_03]: You know, when it's not pouring, fricking rain.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_03]: Put anyway.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_03]: Just a random thought.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks Justin.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, man, you know, I say a bond has taken a lot of heat obviously because the drops.
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_02]: They were just bad.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_02]: They were untimely.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_02]: They were at crucial moments of the game where, you know, the drop on third down where it was.
- 1:09:30[SPEAKER_02]: What third and 19 or whatever, and could have been a first down.
- 1:09:35[SPEAKER_02]: to continue that drive leading the game.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_02]: We were trying to get back into it.
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that would have been a huge catch.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_02]: Huge play and it was right there.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I did go back and watch the the all 22 and the past was a little bit and I'm talking.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_02]: If you're going to try to make any sort of excuse for him, it was just a little bit behind him.
- 1:09:54[SPEAKER_02]: He did have to turn a little bit to come back and try to catch it.
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_02]: It was not out in front of him off his hands there.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_02]: It was kind of he had to turn back, turn back just a little bit.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_02]: But he does that weird thing where he jumps through the air to try to catch a ball that he doesn't need to jump for.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what the hell that's all about.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's got to get that cut out of his game.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_02]: He's a very young player.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_02]: He's very inexperienced.
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I agree with you, Justin.
- 1:10:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's taking on more heat than he needs to.
- 1:10:18[SPEAKER_02]: The drop in the end zone looked awful when it happened.
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Off, like this dude just dropped a wide open touchdown pass.
- 1:10:26[SPEAKER_02]: the reality of that play.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_02]: Again, go watch the all 22 to Sean Watson missed a wide open receiver for an easy touchdown pass on that one.
- 1:10:34[SPEAKER_02]: I said that ball was so far out on front of him, he dove extended got his hands out as far as he possibly could and it went off his finger tips.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_02]: That was a full 100% effort played by him just a terrible pass by the quarterback.
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_02]: That is what it is.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_02]: That was a bad pass.
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I say a bond, we want to see more what I want to say, you know, better play in critical situations, but the elements were really bad.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he'll be okay.
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_02]: I like him.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's going to be a good player for us for a while.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, the couple bad drops in the rain and the game that honestly we should have been winning
- 1:11:18[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, like we shouldn't even even been in position where we needed that first down catch so It's a whole team loss on Sunday, but hopefully we get a full team win coming up here in week six.
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_02]: So you guys let me know what you think about the game?
- 1:11:33[SPEAKER_02]: We will be live Sunday night, eight o'clock on YouTube, Facebook, and X, breaking it all down, reacting to the game.
- 1:11:40[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully it'll be a Browns victory when we can move forward and two in the AFC North with two wins over divisional puns would give us a huge edge in the AFC North race throughout the remainder of the season.
- 1:11:54[SPEAKER_02]: If we lose, we'll still be, we're not gonna be in a bad position.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let's put it that way.
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_02]: Even if we lose,
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_02]: We're still in a decent position in the division, but it does put us behind the eight ball, and it'd be harder for a team like the Browns to overcome some of those things down the stretch, I think, than a team that's,
- 1:12:14[SPEAKER_02]: a little more ironed out.
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_02]: I guess we'll say.
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, thank you guys for tuning in today, appreciate it.
- 1:12:19[SPEAKER_02]: Thoughts opinions, anything like that you guys throw it in the comments.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to get your voicemails on the show again, we won't be doing voicemails until I've heard the game on Sunday.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_02]: So if you want to talk about this game, kind of missed a shot for that.
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_02]: But we won't be back Sunday night.
- 1:12:33[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, if you want to get your voicemails later on on the show, thedogspodcast.com, tably voicemail on the drop time menu.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_02]: But thank you guys for tuning in.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go guardians, we got three games at home and Cleveland.
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_02]: Let's come out, let's take control of the ALCS.
- 1:12:49[SPEAKER_02]: I want to get to the world series, baby.
- 1:12:50[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, we're right there.
- 1:12:51[SPEAKER_02]: We are three wins away from the world series.
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go, let's do it.
- 1:12:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so, I told my wife when the playoff starts, I said, yeah, we were ready to watch the Indians and she's like, we're gonna watch baseball, cause we don't watch a ton of baseball.
- 1:13:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, no, babe, you don't understand.
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_02]: Play off baseball.
- 1:13:09[SPEAKER_02]: is unlike any other sport.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like playoff baseball is intense.
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_02]: That's a ton of fun.
- 1:13:16[SPEAKER_02]: So let's go guardians, Indians, whatever you guys want to call them.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care.
- 1:13:19[SPEAKER_02]: They were the Indians from me all growing up.
- 1:13:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'll never get rid of my chief wall who's stuff.
- 1:13:22[SPEAKER_02]: Never stop calling them the Indians.
- 1:13:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's what they are in my heart.
- 1:13:26[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what they will always be to me, guardians, whatever, doesn't matter.
- 1:13:30[SPEAKER_02]: They are my Cleveland baseball team, and I want to freaking win.
- 1:13:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I want my Cleveland football team to be the old Cleveland football team on Sunday.
- 1:13:38[SPEAKER_02]: So let's go Browns, let's go guards, let's go you guys.
- 1:13:41[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for tuning in.
