Latest / Cultural Wars | America Out Loud News / Is ICE’s latest raid really taking down the worst of the worst?

- 0:09You're listening to the Hidden Lightness on America Out Loud Talk Radio.
- 0:13I'm your host, Jimmy Hinton.
- 0:15Well, a lot has happened in the news in the past week.
- 0:18And we're going to get into one of the big ones here.
- 0:22And this is an article that says it's Fox News article.
- 0:26It says that ICE sweeps up convicted pedophiles, traffickers in massive holiday weekend sting.
- 0:34Quote, worst of the worst.
- 0:38Now the claim is by DHS that nearly 70% of ICE arrests are criminals, either charged or convicted of a crime.
- 0:48And I don't know how anybody can argue against locking up pedophiles and traffickers.
- 0:53I just I just want to throw that out there right now.
- 0:56Um there are very few people in reality who actually defend pedophiles and traffickers, though they do exist.
- 1:06I've trust me, I've experienced this.
- 1:09In my advocacy work over the years, I've experienced many, many, many churches, uh church leaders particularly, who defend support and hide pedophiles within their churches.
- 1:25It absolutely 100% does happen.
- 1:29Now, is that the norm?
- 1:31Is that the social norm?
- 1:33I don't think so.
- 1:36I don't think that the norm for America is to cover up and hide pedophiles.
- 1:43And I think that's part of why you see the public outrage with the Epstein files.
- 1:48And it's, you know, that's been a very politicized thing, and I've talked about that plenty on both sides of the aisle.
- 1:56Um, I just I don't want to delve deeply into the Epstein files because there is so much misinformation coming from both sides of the aisle, both the Republicans and Democrats.
- 2:09Uh, there are a lot of liars.
- 2:12And it's just a shame to see.
- 2:15Uh, I feel like that's something that we should all as Americans come together and just agree that child rape is wrong, that child human child sex trafficking is always wrong.
- 2:36That the production of child abuse materials used to be called child pornography, and that term has been detested by a lot of people, and and I think with good cause, because pornography by definition kind of implies, even though it's even though it doesn't mean that in the definition, it kind of implies that there's some sort of consent.
- 3:03And any time that anything happens with a child sexually, by definition, it is abuse, and a child cannot consent.
- 3:17So that's why when you hear things like um, I've always had a problem with the definitions that um the titles that uh that media personnel uh they'll they'll write things like, well, uh, this 12-year-old child had an inappropriate relationship with their teacher.
- 3:38That it's not a relationship.
- 3:40It's by definition, that child could not consent, therefore, it was not a relationship.
- 3:48It was, however, abuse.
- 3:52So what the what the articles should say is that the 37-year-old teacher abused a 12-year-old minor.
- 4:03All right, so uh this is not just semantics, this is um uh proper terminology, I think is is really important because what happens is we we tend to desensitize people to how bad this stuff really is, and it's really bad.
- 4:22Now I I want to go off on a little bit of a uh uh side trail here for a minute, talking about the Epstein files.
- 4:31Part of the problem with the Epstein files is we hear things like, well, they're they're eating babies, and there's human sacrifice, and uh, you know, I've read some of these files, and people are really filling in the gaps, and it's you know, it's the whole pizzagate thing uh coming back to the surface, where somebody mentions going out for pizza and all of a sudden they're like, oh, see, they're sacrificing babies on an altar.
- 4:58And I think we need to be really careful not to um take an emotional stance and start filling in gaps where we just clearly don't have information.
- 5:12Now, with that said, I agree wholeheartedly.
- 5:15I don't care who was involved with uh with abusing these children in the Epstein files, if if anybody, I don't care how powerful, I don't care how much money they have, I don't care what what political affiliation they have, I don't care.
- 5:31I don't care about any of that.
- 5:34If anybody was involved in the abuse and corruption of minor children, they ought to be at a bare minimum locked up and the key thrown away, period.
- 5:49They should never see the light of day, ever.
- 5:54So I I want to say that emphatically, and unfortunately, what a lot of people have done is they've taken bits and pieces of of things that have been released by the DOJ.
- 6:07And they're just rushing to all kinds of conclusions, and they're saying, oh, well, see, you know, so and so was involved in baby sacrifices.
- 6:16You're like, well, not necessarily.
- 6:22I saw another one that uh somebody made the claim that uh Michael Jackson, he even though he's in the files and he saw uh some of the things that were going on on Epstein Island, he was appalled by it, and he actually created Never Never Land or whatever it was called to protect children.
- 6:46He created that because he knew that kids were being abused, and he wanted to give them a hideaway, a safe space.
- 6:55You know, and so there are just all these bizarre theories out there, and uh so many different conspiracies.
- 7:05And so I'm kind of letting the, you know, I really want to give this time, and I've spoken a little bit on the Epstein files, uh, but I've really held back, and it's been tempting.
- 7:17I mean, believe me, it's been tempting to uh to dig deep into this, but I just don't think we have the information yet.
- 7:25I think very clearly, I don't think I know very clearly, both sides have politicized this, and they're uh sadly they're making a mockery of the abuse of children.
- 7:41And I don't like it.
- 7:42I don't like it one bit.
- 7:44Uh I wish it wasn't so, but it is, and I would love for the investigative journalists to dig deep into this and to actually find out like what's up with the redactions, because that's another thing.
- 7:59And and no matter which side you listen to, both of them conflate what's actually going on with people's names being redacted.
- 8:09What happened uh on Capitol Hill with Pam Bondy?
- 8:14I'm I mean, it was so cringe worthy.
- 8:17The things that she was saying, and not just her.
- 8:21I it was it was representatives.
- 8:25Uh the things that were being said on Capitol Hill were absolutely cringe worthy.
- 8:31Like it made me crawl out of my skin.
- 8:33I couldn't believe some of the things that were being said.
- 8:37Some of the personal jabs and and you know, I I think very, very indicative of just the general mood for that day was Pam Bondy screaming.
- 8:48Have you seen the stock market?
- 8:50Have you seen the Dowell Jones?
- 8:55And I I think that politically burned her pretty badly, and it should have.
- 9:08It was like this this unhinged yelling and screaming and personal attacks.
- 9:14And again, I go back to this.
- 9:16It's always about the children.
- 9:18It's always about the victims.
- 9:21What's happening with the Epstein files shouldn't be about what the DOJ is doing or not doing, and it like it should always go back to this is about the victims.
- 9:33This is about getting justice for the victims.
- 9:38But you'll hear both Democrats and Republicans equally, in my opinion, equally guilty of spreading lies and misinformation and personal attacks against their opponents, and it's just it's very, very disheartening.
- 9:56So at any rate, uh, I want to go back to
- 10:00What this claim is that ICE sweeps up these convicted pedophiles, traffickers in a massive president's day, the holiday weekend sting.
- 10:11All right, I'm gonna I'm gonna just read a little bit from this article because I don't want to misrepresent anything here.
- 10:19As federal immigration operations continued across the country, the Department of Homeland Security, DHS continues to nab child sex predators residing in the country as illegal immigrants.
- 10:32All right, I think no matter where you stand on the political spectrum or religious spectrum, all of us should applaud this.
- 10:45Locking up child rapists, child predators.
- 10:49Every single living, breathing, normal human being ought to applaud that and say, Bravo, bravo.
- 11:01Lock them up, throw away the key.
- 11:05All right.
- 11:06Uh going on.
- 11:08Child grooming, sex and ludacs with minors, including some under 14, possession of child pornography.
- 11:17Again, that's uh the proper term for that now is child sex abuse material, CSAM, possession of child pornography, domestic assault, assault with deadly weapon, stalking, and drug trafficking were among some of DHS's worst of the worst arrests from President's Day weekend.
- 11:42Trisha McLaughlin, uh DHS assistant secretary, she said this.
- 11:51Over President's Day weekend, brave men and women of ICE arrested heinous criminal illegal aliens across the country convicted for sex crimes against children, rape, and drug trafficking.
- 12:04These violent criminals will never be allowed to harm children and innocent Americans again.
- 12:11Meanwhile, according to McLaughlin, nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal immigrants either charged or convicted of a crime in the United States.
- 12:23Quote, nothing will stop ICE law enforcement from removing them from American communities.
- 12:30The DHS assistant secretary concluded.
- 12:33All right, so I want to dig into these claims for a second, because you know, it's it's it's pretty easy to take a mainstream news article.
- 12:44And to just take that as gospel fact.
- 12:48And what I wanted to do was kind of compare these numbers against ICE's own numbers and DHS's own numbers.
- 12:58And find out, is that really true?
- 13:00Because if that's true, that 70% of ICE arrests are of illegals, either charged or convicted of a crime in the United States.
- 13:11I would I would applaud that.
- 13:14I'd say, that's good.
- 13:17Yeah, 70% of these people are hardened criminals.
- 13:22Though it doesn't say hardened criminals, let me read it exactly word for word.
- 13:28Nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal immigrants, either charged or convicted of a crime in the United States.
- 13:40Now, right away, my mind goes to okay, what were the crimes?
- 13:46What are the crimes they were charged with?
- 13:50Because that really matters.
- 13:53Now, some people would argue, well, it doesn't matter because, as President Trump said, they're breaking the law.
- 13:59And Marco Rubio, right?
- 14:01If they're here in the United States, if they cross the border illegally, they're breaking the law.
- 14:09They are by definition lawbreakers.
- 14:14And it's uh on the surface, it's pretty hard to argue with that.
- 14:18We have very clear, very strict immigration laws.
- 14:24But this claim that 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal immigrants either charged or convicted of a crime in the United States.
- 14:33What I found in digging deep into this is that that's a really conflated number.
- 14:41And that's a number in order to politicize this and to make it sound like we fill in the gaps, right?
- 14:51And people know this.
- 14:52They're not stupid.
- 14:53These are not stupid people.
- 14:54Christy Noam is not stupid.
- 14:57Pam Bondi is not stupid.
- 15:00Donald Trump is not stupid.
- 15:04Right?
- 15:04They're not dumb people.
- 15:06And so they know that when they throw these numbers out there, and these are official numbers, and they have Tom Homan going on record saying the same thing.
- 15:17Nearly 70%, I've heard all of them say it.
- 15:20Nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal immigrants, either charged or convicted of a crime in the United States.
- 15:27So our mind fills in the gaps, and we're like, oh, these are hardened criminals.
- 15:33These are people who are violent.
- 15:38They're the child rapists.
- 15:40They are the worst of the worst.
- 15:43Now, why do we use that language?
- 15:46Worst of the worst.
- 15:47Well, because we've been given that language.
- 15:50That's exactly the precise terminology that they're using.
- 15:55They are the worst of the worst.
- 15:57In fact, let me reread the title of the article that I'm reading from.
- 16:05ICE sweeps up convicted pedophiles, traffickers, and massive holiday weekend sting.
- 16:10Quote, worst of the worst.
- 16:14We've been given that language.
- 16:16That's not my terminology.
- 16:18That's not my phrase.
- 16:20This is exactly the exact phraseology that's being used by ICE by DHS and by the President of the United States and others.
- 16:33So when we hear that language, that's meant to do something inside of us.
- 16:38The question is, are these really the worst of the worst who are being arrested?
- 16:45We'll find that out after the break.

- 20:01ICE did a big raid over the President's Day long weekend.
- 20:05They did a really big raid nationwide.
- 20:08And they arrested, according to them, they arrested pedophiles, traffickers in a massive holiday weekend sting, and these are the worst of the worst.
- 20:18Now I would agree that pedophiles, human traffickers, they are the worst of the worst.
- 20:24It's legitimately hard to find anything worse than scumbags who abuse innocent children.
- 20:35Children, by definition, are innocent.
- 20:39And we tend to get very emotionally charged on this.
- 20:43And I know, like, trust me, I know about this.
- 20:45I have my own father is a pedophile.
- 20:48I am the one who reported him.
- 20:50I wrote a book about it.
- 20:53I wrote a memoir about how my father abused children in our home and in the church for decades, and how I finally stopped them.
- 21:02I know how emotionally invested people can get.
- 21:06How it's absolutely disgusting.
- 21:09And with that, um it becomes very interesting.
- 21:15And if you want to talk about something that will divide people really quickly, it's anything that has to do with child abuse or the perception of child abuse.
- 21:24Let me give you an example.
- 21:26Did you all see what Michael Jordan did during the Daytona 500 celebration?
- 21:35It was bizarre.
- 21:36I saw the video, and given with no context, I gotta tell you, I was outraged.
- 21:45He walks up behind a little boy, Tyler Reddick's son.
- 21:50Tyler Reddick won, and uh Jordan, of course, this is like team Jordan.
- 21:57And at the celebration, Jordan walks up behind Tyler Reddick's young son, and it appears as though he's grabbing, like massaging his buttocks, like in a very weird strange way.
- 22:13I mean, it's creepy.
- 22:14It is really creepy footage.
- 22:17If you don't believe me, go look it up yourself.
- 22:21And then after doing that, he uh he then starts to tickle, it looks like he's tickling the back of the kid's leg.
- 22:30Very bizarre.
- 22:31Here's an article.
- 22:32This is Yahoo Sports.
- 22:34Uh, there are tons of these articles, trust me.
- 22:36Just look up Michael Jordan Daytona 500.
- 22:39Uh, you'll find a plethora.
- 22:42I mean, the internet absolutely is on fire right now.
- 22:45Michael Jordan goes viral in wrong way for Daytona 500 celebration video with Tyler Reddick's son.
- 22:52This is the Yahoo Sports article.
- 22:56Michael Jordan goes viral in wrong way for Daytona 500 celebration video with Tyler Reddick's son appeared first on Clutch Points.
- 23:05Unfortunately, while there was a lot to celebrate at the 2026 Daytona 500 for Michael Jordan, the NBA legend went viral for a celebration video with the son of this year's winner, Tyler Reddick.
- 23:19A video has surfaced of Jordan with Reddick's son Bo during the Daytona 500 celebration.
- 23:26He repeatedly pinches the lower back.
- 23:29It looks to me in the video like it's not his back, but his back side.
- 23:40It's unclear what exactly was going on.
- 23:44Fans in the comments section say uh of Sachi's TV's post on Instagram were confused with one asking, why would he even need to do that to begin with?
- 23:57Granted, this isn't the first time Jordan has celebrated with Bo.
- 24:01There's an old video of Jordan holding Reddick's son after a race.
- 24:08All right, so skipping down a little bit.
- 24:13Um Jordan is the co-owner of 23 XI racing alongside Denny Hamlin and Curtis Polk.
- 24:26Jordan joined the team in 2020, and the team consists of Bubba Wallace, Riley Herbst, Courtley Heim, and Raddock.
- 24:36The 2026 Daytona 500 was February 15th in Daytona Beach, Florida.
- 24:45And uh anyway, that's kind of it for this article.
- 24:50There were other articles that say the internet's divided.
- 24:54Some say that uh it was taken out of context, and that there was ice that was poured down the shirt of this kid whenever they poured the ice over the oh, you know, over Redick.
- 25:08Some of that ice got down the shirt of Redick's son, and Jordan was trying to work the ice out of uh out of his shirt.
- 25:19I don't know.
- 25:20I mean, again, this is one of those things where it's a grainy video to begin with.
- 25:25It's not the best video.
- 25:27Uh Jordan has never been accused of anything before, to my knowledge of sexual assault.
- 25:35And people are gonna take that, I mean, people have already taken that.
- 25:38They've taken that one video clip and have went absolutely insane.
- 25:45What really happened?
- 25:46I don't know.
- 25:47Was it weird?
- 25:48Yep.
- 25:49Was it strange?
- 25:50Yep.
- 25:51Uh, did it give me weird vibes?
- 25:53Absolutely.
- 25:55But does that mean that he did anything sexual?
- 26:01I can't come to that determination.
- 26:06I don't know based on that one video clip, but it just shows you, and that's as an expert on child sexual abuse.
- 26:13I can't look at that video and say, all right, I would report this to police because this guy's an absolute creep.
- 26:19I I can't do that.
- 26:20So it shows you how emotionally charged people get when it comes to the abuse of children.
- 26:28So ICE knows this.
- 26:32They're not stupid, they know this, and so when they make the claim that there's this big raid, and it sounds like it's mostly child predators, child sexual predators.
- 26:45That kind of um, it lets our guard down a little bit because we're like, well, good, lock them up.
- 26:52I think most of us would agree with that.
- 26:56All right, so I think there are a couple different things going on at the same time.
- 26:59There are two different truths going on at the same time.
- 27:03The first truth is that yes, they did in fact arrest child sexual predators who are illegal immigrants.
- 27:15To which I say, good, lock them up, throw away the key, send them back to whatever country they came from, if and only if we can be guaranteed that that country is gonna absolutely throw the book at these people and they will never see the light of day again.
- 27:35Lock them up and throw away the key.
- 27:37Anyone who preys on a young child sexually, lock them up and throw away the key.
- 27:44I I have always stood by that.
- 27:46I also take a very strong stance.
- 27:48This is not an emotional stance.
- 27:52This is based on years and years of research.
- 27:57I take a very strong stance that if anybody has ever been um criminally charged with sex offenses against a child, or if they have credible allegations of sexual misconduct against a child, they should never be allowed to step foot inside of a church.
- 28:21And the reason I say church is because that's my area.
- 28:25That's my area of expertise.
- 28:29That's where I trained people.
- 28:30I trained mostly trained churches.
- 28:33They should never be allowed to step foot inside of a church when minor children are present ever again.
- 28:41Ever.
- 28:43That means they don't go there to worship.
- 28:46That means they certainly don't go to any children's events, or they just plain and simple, don't go to that church ever when any minor children is ever on the campus, period.
- 28:59And I I not only still stand by that after years and years, over a decade, almost a decade and a half of doing this.
- 29:09Not only do I still stand by that stance, but I have actually hardened that stance even more.
- 29:18100%, they do not belong around children ever again, ever.
- 29:26All right, so uh and and that's because the research shows that child predators do not stop.
- 29:38They never stop thinking about children sexually.
- 29:41There's something wrong with the hardwiring inside of their brain.
- 29:45They never stop thinking about children in a sexual way.
- 29:48So even if they're not physically sexually assaulting the children, they are producing those images and and um thoughts inside of their brain.
- 30:00They are thinking about your children that way, which means they can't help themselves.
- 30:05They're looking your children up on social media.
- 30:09They're finding ways to find images of your children.
- 30:12And now with the advancement of artificial intelligence, I 100% would say absolutely no.
- 30:19That's a hard no.
- 30:20You will never be able to look at my child.
- 30:24Period.
- 30:25You won't be in the same room as my child.
- 30:27Uh it's just not going to happen.
- 30:30Alright, so knowing that most people have a very hard stance against child sexual predators.
- 30:38ICE points to the fact that they did, in fact, arrest people, but they kind of make it sound inflated.
- 30:44Like all of these people are child sexual predators.
- 30:47They're not.
- 30:48Let me read a little bit further.
- 30:51Over the weekend, several of those illegal alien criminals arrested by ICE had previous charges related to child sex abuse.
- 30:59Efren Guzman Lopez, who is originally from Guatemala, was picked up in Texas following a conviction for indecency with child sexual contact and child grooming.
- 31:13Another criminal illegal alien convicted of sex offenses with a child, specifically lewd or less vicious acts with a child under 14 was picked up this weekend in California.
- 31:26The individual originally from Mexico, Javier Milan Salgado, was also listed on the sex offender registry according to DHS.
- 31:38Multiple individuals in California were picked up this weekend for having sex with a minor as well, according to DHS.
- 31:46While a criminal illegal alien in Missouri, Pedro Hucab was arrested for sexual misconduct with a child under the age of 15.
- 31:58These criminal illegal aliens were from Guatemala and Mexico.
- 32:03Others were arrested for acts of sexual abuse and sexual assault, including in New York and Salt Lake City.
- 32:11Drug trafficking, assault, and domestic violence were the remaining trends among DHS's worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens picked up over President's Day weekend.
- 32:24First of all, I want to start with this.
- 32:27Bravo.
- 32:28That's good.
- 32:30We should celebrate that these people are off the streets.
- 32:35And I've said this in Minneapolis.
- 32:38We saw the video footage of people blowing their dumb whistles and trying to impede ICE's arrest of individuals, and one guy was like, one um iCE agent was like, you people are insane.
- 32:54He's like, you know, you're we're on our way to a to arrest a child rapist, a violent child rapist.
- 33:03And you guys, you guys are stopping that.
- 33:07What is wrong with you?
- 33:09And I saw that video, and I was like, man, that's that's telling.
- 33:13And you could tell.
- 33:14He was emotionally upset that they were stopping, they were trying to stop him from getting this child rapist locked up and put into handcuffs.
- 33:25And that's the problem with these kind of protests is, you know, and both sides are wrong because the one side, the protesters, they just don't care.
- 33:35They just lump everybody together and they're like, oh my goodness, we where's the humanity, and we need to be kind and gracious and welcoming.
- 33:44Well, yes, but also no.
- 33:48It's a complex issue.
- 33:51And on the other side, they make it sound like virtually every single person who's put into handcuffs is a child rapist.
- 33:57And that's just not true.
- 33:59And we'll look again at the statistics.
- 34:02Uh, here are more people.
- 34:04Alfredo Vargas and Wilfrito Vareles Rubio, both from Mexico, were each convicted of trafficking methamphetamine in Iowa and in Montana, respectively, before being picked up by ICE this weekend.
- 34:19A man from Honduras.
- 34:22Eva Rivera Molina was convicted of conspiracy to distribute crystal methamphetamine in Texas prior to his arrest by ICE.
- 34:31On the East Coast, in Raleigh, North Carolina, criminal alien from Mexico arrested by ICE.
- 34:38Hermilio Salgado Castro was previously convicted of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
- 34:45And on and on it goes.
- 34:47It gives a few more names of people.
- 34:48Felony assault, domestic violence, stalking and assault with a W weapon were also among the crimes committed by those on ICE lists.
- 34:58Great.
- 34:59Lock them up.
- 35:03100% lock them up.
- 35:06I will stand there and applaud these people.
- 35:10The ICE, that is, for locking them up.
- 35:12DHS has set up a website at wow.dhs.gov where Americans can learn about the public safety threats being arrested in their communities.
- 35:23Now it sounds like they're being very transparent.
- 35:27The U.S.
- 35:28Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of worst criminal aliens arrested by the U.S.
- 35:33Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE, the website's homepage reads.
- 35:40Under security, I'll link to this website, by the way, in the show notes.
- 35:43Under security gnomes leadership, the hardworking men and women of DHS and ICE are fulfilling Trump's promise and carrying out mass deportations, starting with a worst of the worst.
- 35:56There it is again.
- 35:57You can't get away from this phrase.
- 35:58They keep using it over and over and over.
- 36:01And usually when people keep using the same phrase over and over, my hackles get up a little bit.
- 36:06And I'm like, okay, are they really the worst of the world?
- 36:10Like, why do they keep highlighting that they're the worst of the worst?
- 36:15So we are going to take another deep dive into this.
- 36:19And what I found might be startling for people.
- 36:23Let me start here.
- 36:24I did kind of a report here.
- 36:28The 70% criminal statistic, uh, the claim the worst of the worst.
- 36:36Throughout the duration of Operation Metro Surge, that's in Minneapolis, DHS officials utilized a specific statistics statistic to defend against accusations of indiscriminate raiding.
- 36:5070% of those arrested have a criminal history.
- 36:54This figure was repeated across multiple platforms.
- 36:57Christy Gnome said it on Face the Nation.
- 37:04The WOW campaign.
- 37:06That's what I just mentioned.
- 37:07WOW.dHS.gov.
- 37:11Worst of the worst searchable database.
- 37:14So what's the reality?
- 37:16Well, a forensic audit of DHS's own internal data, alongside independent analysis from the Cato Institute track and major media outlets reveals that the 70% figure is a construct achieved through three specific inflation techniques.
- 37:37They include the inclusion of pending charges, the categories of status offenses as crimes, and the rhetorical conflation of criminal with the word violent.
- 37:55All right, so this is really interesting, but we are up on a break here, a hard break.
- 38:01Uh, although our shows go to podcast the next day, make sure that you check it out on your favorite podcast app and visit America Outloud.news.

- 39:46America outlawed.news is that place to awaken your heart, soul, and mind to the outlook.
- 40:01ICE's claim that they are arresting the worst of the worst, that 70% are violent criminals.
- 40:10Uh might not be that true.
- 40:13Now, with that said, over the weekend, over the President's Day weekend, ICE did raids across the country, and they did arrest multiple convicted pedophiles, traffickers, and uh drug traffickers and people like that.
- 40:31So we applaud those efforts, and I just I can't look at that and be like, oh, boo, you know, go home ICE.
- 40:40That's terrible.
- 40:42You know, I any time that violent criminals or sexual predators or drug traffickers, any time that they're taken off the street, uh, we ought to celebrate.
- 40:51We ought to celebrate that the streets are safer.
- 40:54Now, with that said, I will say that uh evidence is there that the streets are definitely safer.
- 41:01I've done a couple stories on this now, that the criminal statistics have plummeted, absolutely plummeted across the nation.
- 41:10That's good news.
- 41:11That's good for all of us.
- 41:13If you recall, I did a story about Memphis, Tennessee, where people were coming out into the streets sometimes for the first time in years, and residents were saying, we can't believe that we walk outside and we don't hear any gunfire ringing out.
- 41:31Our kids can go out and play in the streets without fear of being shot.
- 41:36And I just can't in my wildest dreams imagine what it's like to live that way.
- 41:40I uh I went to seminary in Memphis for nine years.
- 41:47Um including my undergraduate work here.
- 41:53Uh, I commuted.
- 41:55So for four and a half years, I did my graduate work in Memphis, Tennessee.
- 42:02I have family who live in Memphis, Tennessee, and I've driven through some of the worst parts of Memphis, Tennessee.
- 42:09And I gotta tell you, it's heartbreaking.
- 42:11It's sad.
- 42:12Very violent.
- 42:13There are parts of Memphis that I was told don't even drive through because chances are pretty good that you'll be shot at.
- 42:22Uh, I didn't play around, I didn't play games.
- 42:25Uh, quite frankly, I like my life, and I'm not going to do things to speed up my exit from planet Earth.
- 42:37But Memphis is uh, you know, or was uh there were just some parts that were really, really, really sketchy and violent.
- 42:47And last year, 2025, as crime rates were plummeting, uh, there were interviews of residents in Memphis saying we can't believe that was after President Trump sent the National Guard.
- 42:59If you remember that, he sent the National Guard temporarily to some of the cities across America, and residents were saying it's actually safe for our kids to go out and play.
- 43:10And they were thanking President Trump.
- 43:14They thanked him directly and said it's a direct result of his policies that it's now safe for our kids to play in the street.
- 43:22Now, we can't make that up.
- 43:24We uh we have to look at the facts, whether we like those facts or not, we have to deal in the business of facts.
- 43:34All right, so the streets are safer in America.
- 43:39That's a fact.
- 43:42Now, what else is going on here is that ICE is claiming that 70%, 70% of the people arrested, of the illegals who were arrested have a criminal history, and these are the worst of the worst.
- 43:57They keep repeating that statement over and over.
- 43:59The reality is that they're kind of distorting the numbers a little bit to come up with that statistic.
- 44:08And that's also a fact.
- 44:12They're being a little bit dishonest when it comes to that.
- 44:17So they're using three specific inflation techniques.
- 44:20One is the inclusion of pending charges, and that includes misdemeanors and you know, uh some very petty traffic charges like traffic stops, things like that.
- 44:34Number two, the categoration of status offenses as crimes.
- 44:39Again, that's taking misdemeanors and saying that these people are criminals.
- 44:44That'd be like me getting a ticket for getting to pay my speeding ticket, and I now have a warrant out for my arrest.
- 44:52Believe it or not, this happens a lot in America.
- 44:56And no, that has never happened to me.
- 44:59And yes, I've gotten plenty of speeding tickets.
- 45:02Full transparency.
- 45:05I have a lead foot.
- 45:06I like to go.
- 45:10And I've had plenty of speeding tickets uh throughout my life.
- 45:15None recently, I don't think any within the past decade.
- 45:20But I've had speeding tickets before, and I've always paid them in a timely manner.
- 45:25But if if you don't pay it in a timely manner, say you forget about it, which it happens, it happens to the best of us.
- 45:36They then put a warrant out for your arrest, and what DHS is doing is they're classifying those as criminal charges.
- 45:48Okay.
- 45:49So the third thing that they're doing is they're creating, they're producing a rhetoric of conflation by uh identifying criminal with violent, the word violent.
- 46:06So let's look at the the term charged or convicted.
- 46:12Again, they're including individuals with pending charges.
- 46:17Under U.S.
- 46:18law, they're uh a charge is merely an accusation by lumping charged and individuals with convicted individuals, ICE is treating the accused as guilty or statistical uh for statistical purposes.
- 46:38How about the volume of charges?
- 46:40In many cases, the pending charge may be the very reason the individual came to ICE's attention.
- 46:46For example, um, an arrest for a minor minor altercation or traffic stop that has not gone to trial.
- 46:54That puts them on ICE's radar.
- 46:56So there's a pending charge, which makes it pretty easy to find these people.
- 47:03They arrest them and they just lumped it all together, calling them the worst of the worst.
- 47:08You see how this works.
- 47:12And then the impact on the data, when independent researchers strip away pending charges and look only at convictions, the percentage of criminal arrestees drops a lot.
- 47:25In fact, in January 2026, only 29% of ICE detainees had actual criminal convictions, which is a historical low.
- 47:38All right, let's talk about the second technique.
- 47:42The violent crime lie.
- 47:45Secretary Gnome's specific um assertion that 70% of arrestees had committed violent crimes is demonstrably false.
- 47:55And it's contradicted by her agency's internal records.
- 48:01The internal DHS data, which was leaked, that's kind of interesting.
- 48:09They did not want this data out.
- 48:12There's a review of internal dashboards.
- 48:14It revealed that only 14% of the nearly 400,000 arrests made in the first year of Trump's administration involved violent criminal record.
- 48:25The Cato Institute audit.
- 48:29There's an analysis of book ins from October to November 2025 that found that only 5% of individuals detained had violent criminal convictions.
- 48:41Less than 1% of arrests involved homicide.
- 48:47And fewer than 2% involved sexual assault.
- 48:52Now that's interesting.
- 48:54Given the Fox News article that I just read, they made, I mean, they named names.
- 48:59And they made it sound like out of these 3,000 or some people who got arrested, it was several thousand, they made it sound like the vast majority of these were sexual predators.
- 49:11They were not less than 1% of all arrests involved homicide, and fewer than 2%, not even 2% involves sexual assault.
- 49:29So there's a gap between Gnome's rhetoric where 70% are violent and the data, 5 to 14% are actually violent.
- 49:38That's not a margin of error.
- 49:40It's a flat out fabrication.
- 49:45So we need to be honest about that.
- 49:46Okay, so then there's the final technique, and that is um criminalized the criminalizing status.
- 49:55To bolster the criminal numbers, the administration has increasingly.
- 50:00Utilized federal statuses that criminalize the act of migration itself.
- 50:04So illegal entry, that's uh eight USC 1325.
- 50:11That's a misdemeanor.
- 50:12Illegal re-entry is eight USC 1326.
- 50:18That's a felony.
- 50:21By charging unauthorized individuals with these federal crimes at the point of apprehension or citing prior illegal entry convictions, ICE can categorize arrestees as criminal, even if they've never committed a traditional public safety offense, such as theft or assault or drug distribution.
- 50:43So it's kind of a circular logic, right?
- 50:46An individual is arrested because they're undocumented, then they're charged with illegal re-entry, a felony, then they're counted in the statistics as a criminal arrest.
- 51:00And there's also statistical padding.
- 51:05That creates self-fulfilling prophecy where increased enforcement against nonviolent border crossers automatically increases the criminal arrest statistics.
- 51:17And then that's used to justify further enforcement.
- 51:22So we need to be very careful and just be honest and realize that uh we're being played by both sides.
- 51:30And I think that's the point that I want to make.
- 51:32Number one, uh, I'm all for violent criminals being taken off the street.
- 51:38And I'm so grateful, so so grateful to ICE for pulling violent criminals off the street.
- 51:47Uh I have absolutely nothing for anybody violent, whether they're uh in the country illegally or whether they're an American citizen.
- 51:56I have absolutely zero nothing for anybody who's violent, a violent criminal offender, a sexual predator, a human trafficker, uh drug trafficker.
- 52:09I have absolutely zero sympathy for them.
- 52:13None.
- 52:16Zero.
- 52:20But what happens is that they've lumped everybody together to create a narrative that ICE is only going after the worst of the worst.
- 52:36If you fill in the blanks, if you read between the lines, what our minds think is, oh my goodness, that they're going after all violent predators, sexual predators.
- 52:49They're going after the child rapists, they're going after the uh the drug lords, the gang members.
- 52:58While they are, they only make up a very small percentage of the people who are actually being arrested.
- 53:08So I wish they would just be honest and say, look, we're lumping everybody together.
- 53:15If if you're entering this country illegally, you're gonna be arrested.
- 53:22That includes uh people who've been here illegally, who are here illegally, and that also includes drug traffickers, child predators, human traffickers, and the like.
- 53:45Okay, they're they're being pretty transparent.
- 53:50But when they have to inflate the numbers and flat out lie about the numbers.
- 53:56I just I just can't support that.
- 54:00And I think it does more harm than good for ICE.
- 54:04Now, what they should do, what they should do is just be honest, be transparent, and say, look, um, we're going out there, we have a job to do.
- 54:16Um President Trump campaigned on arresting illegals, and that's what he's gonna do.
- 54:22That's what he is doing, that's what ICE is doing.
- 54:27And yes, there are going to be a lot of people arrested who have no criminal background.
- 54:34There are going to be other people who are arrested who have very criminal backgrounds.
- 54:41They have felonies, they're they're violent people, they're awful people, they're scums of society.
- 54:47And um, we're gonna focus on on all of this, but we're gonna straighten this up, and we are gonna make the streets safer.
- 54:55Now, if they did that, uh, I really think that the public would probably be a little bit more accepting, but I think part of the reason why people are getting so upset is because they know they're being lied to.
- 55:07They know that ICE is being disingenuous, they know that DHS is being disingenuous.
- 55:16And that makes people angry.
- 55:21And I'm not justifying it.
- 55:22You know my stance on all these protests.
- 55:26I'm very against them.
- 55:28The way that people are protesting, the violence, always against it.
- 55:32The destruction of people's property, I am always against that.
- 55:36But I think there's a better way, and uh, I just think it's a very complicated issue, and we have a lot in this nation that we need to sort out.
- 55:46There's just a lot of uh a lot of misspeak, a lot of emotions, and it's one of those things we all need to take a step back, take a breather.
- 56:01And if you want to stand on the side of people who you believe are being arrested unjustly, by all means stand up for them.
- 56:14By all means protest on behalf of them.
- 56:20But do it in a way that is peaceful, that you know, this um uh the what was the guy's name, Alex uh prettier or whatever his name was in Minnesota.
- 56:38The media painted him and they lied.
- 56:40They painted him as this kind, wonderful man, and then a couple days before he's like spitting on ice and kicking their uh like kicking their tail lights out.
- 56:51And it's just um I'm tired of all the lies on both sides.
- 56:55And America needs healing.
- 56:57We need to come together and we need to just work together and be a nation that's honest and truthful.
- 57:07And I think when we do that, we can accomplish great, great things.
- 57:12That, my friends, is the is the hidden lightness.
