- 0:03Apparently,
- 0:04I wasn't the only one freaked out by
- 0:06the ring doorbell thing.
- 0:08Let's talk about it next.
- 0:21I love the chase and the hunt,
- 0:23and I set the pace when I'm running.
- 0:24I always take what I want,
- 0:26and I always give it one hundred.
- 0:27Don't need a bank, no one funded.
- 0:29Play the game like it's nothing.
- 0:30I'm always thankful for something.
- 0:32Don't take for granted, stay humble.
- 0:33Now wake up!
- 0:35It's time to look at the enemy.
- 0:37Look in the mirror if he is no
- 0:39friend to me.
- 0:40It's not working out,
- 0:41maybe it's the chemistry.
- 0:43It's time to...
- 0:52what is going on everybody welcome to
- 0:54lunch with the clydesdale a little
- 0:57premature there and didn't let my intro
- 1:00finish we've already got jody and meredith
- 1:03and corey in the chat what's going on
- 1:06everybody jody is here in sunny florida
- 1:11wow
- 1:12What's crazy is it's fifty degrees here
- 1:15today.
- 1:17I've got fifteen inches of snow.
- 1:20It's fifty degrees.
- 1:21I took the dog out in short sleeves
- 1:24and it was actually kind of nice.
- 1:26I am so conditioned to single digits now
- 1:30that fifty degrees feels like sunny
- 1:32Florida to me.
- 1:34So there you go.
- 1:39Um,
- 1:40I'd probably be sweating my ass off in
- 1:42Florida right now and not knowing what to
- 1:44do with myself or, uh,
- 1:46drinking my air down in Louisiana Lake
- 1:49Corey.
- 1:50Um, yeah.
- 1:52So what's going on everybody.
- 1:54Mark Phillips is here through his back out
- 1:56Saturday, but he's here.
- 1:58He throws his back out carrying the show
- 2:00in the comments.
- 2:00That's, but we, we love him for that.
- 2:06So.
- 2:09So there you go.
- 2:14Jody's back to frigid Connecticut on
- 2:16Friday.
- 2:17It's crazy.
- 2:17We get one day of fifties tomorrow.
- 2:19It's back down in the thirties for like
- 2:21two days.
- 2:22And then we go back up to like
- 2:23mid forties.
- 2:28so yeah it's going to be a little
- 2:30up and down roller coaster thing for us
- 2:32for the next few days but every day
- 2:35in the next like ten day forecast we
- 2:37get above freezing which is key because we
- 2:40need to get rid of all of this
- 2:41snow we just like my mom's coming to
- 2:45visit thursday and i don't even have a
- 2:48place in my driveway because my extra car
- 2:52is buried
- 2:54I need it to be unburied so I
- 2:56can move it at least a little bit
- 2:59and give my mom some space to get
- 3:01in my driveway.
- 3:05Probably tomorrow I'll be shoveling a
- 3:06little bit to make some extra room,
- 3:08but man, it's crazy.
- 3:11Crazy.
- 3:14Mark Phillips wants a new back.
- 3:15His old one sucks.
- 3:17Hey, I'm with you, man.
- 3:19From twenty sixteen to twenty twenty,
- 3:23I had twelve back procedures.
- 3:26I found the right doctor.
- 3:28I got everything fixed and I haven't had
- 3:32much.
- 3:34I haven't had any bad back problems in
- 3:37five years, six years, whatever it's been.
- 3:39Yeah.
- 3:43And knock on wood,
- 3:45that's not anything that holds me back
- 3:46going forward.
- 3:48Now that we've had the sinus surgery,
- 3:49we're getting the biopsy done in a week
- 3:51and a half.
- 3:52And hopefully get back at it.
- 3:56Get all ripped like Corey.
- 3:58Compete in the sixty plus division.
- 4:01There's it is.
- 4:02Goals everywhere.
- 4:03Goals everywhere.
- 4:03Let's go.
- 4:04Let's go.
- 4:08um lito it's rained every single day since
- 4:11the beginning of the year in the uk
- 4:13and we've seen the sun for about three
- 4:14point five seconds since december that
- 4:17sucks uh hell yeah make me rip like
- 4:25corey too yeah we all have goals man
- 4:28we all have goals
- 4:39Uh, Meredith says, yep.
- 4:40If I think had one thing fixed on
- 4:46me, it would be my back.
- 4:48Yeah.
- 4:48It took forever, man.
- 4:50It was like, I,
- 4:52I slept in a recliner for like two
- 4:54years cause I could not lay down.
- 4:57It hurts so bad with my back.
- 4:59Um, it was, it was pathetic.
- 5:03Um,
- 5:06And I was doing all this CrossFit.
- 5:07I lost like two hundred plus pounds.
- 5:09I was doing all this stuff and I
- 5:11go to lift a damn laundry basket and
- 5:13it like that's what set it all off.
- 5:17And and then it was just doctoring and
- 5:20nursing it and trying to get through the
- 5:23next day.
- 5:23And man.
- 5:28Corey says he's not that ripped.
- 5:29I've seen pictures, dude.
- 5:31I've seen you in person.
- 5:33You're way ripped to me.
- 5:34Then way more ripped than me.
- 5:44So, yeah.
- 5:49I understand.
- 5:50I've hurt my back standing up from the
- 5:51toilet.
- 5:52Yeah.
- 5:55The last time my back hurt,
- 5:56Stan was judging WF, no judging MFC.
- 6:03And I literally had to go to the
- 6:06break room and lay on the cement floor
- 6:09with my feet elevated.
- 6:11on sunday and that's the year we had
- 6:13like no breaks um and my back just
- 6:17said i'm done on sunday completely done
- 6:21and that was like the last time it's
- 6:23hurt and that was what like twenty one
- 6:25twenty two somewhere in there um
- 6:34Ortega says he'll see Corey this weekend
- 6:37at Fresh Coast.
- 6:38No, Fresh Coast.
- 6:40Fittest of the Coast.
- 6:41Fittest of the Coast.
- 6:42And he'll check out how ripped he is.
- 6:44Take a picture, Ortega.
- 6:45We need proof.
- 6:50Sten says he remembers that.
- 6:51Oh, it was so bad.
- 6:55Worst judging experience of my life.
- 6:59That was my last judging experience, too.
- 7:04I tell you,
- 7:05I get these spasms like twice a year
- 7:06when I wake up and it locks up
- 7:08and I can't move for like two hours.
- 7:10It's the worst.
- 7:11Yeah, I...
- 7:13When it was bad, Ortega,
- 7:15I used to have a stem machine on
- 7:18me just to go to work.
- 7:20Like I carried the remote in my pocket
- 7:24and I would crank it up while I'm
- 7:27sitting at my desk at work just to
- 7:29get through the day back before I got
- 7:32sent home and got to work from home.
- 7:35It was horrible.
- 7:39David Reed,
- 7:39I ruptured a disc while out on a
- 7:41run five miles from home.
- 7:43And we are all old.
- 7:45We are all old.
- 7:49Mark Phillips,
- 7:50all these backstories make me feel better
- 7:52and worse at the same time.
- 7:54Yeah,
- 7:54never was I five miles from home with
- 7:57a ruptured disc.
- 7:58That just seems like pure hell.
- 8:01Like just lay in a ditch at that
- 8:05point.
- 8:09So anyway,
- 8:10what do I want to talk about today?
- 8:14Let's talk about the WFP.
- 8:14So yesterday,
- 8:15Will was on with the Rich Froning podcast,
- 8:16and they asked him how many people have
- 8:19signed, how many people have not signed.
- 8:20And he said like, you know, like,
- 8:20you know, like, you know, like, you know,
- 8:21like, you know, like, you know, like,
- 8:23you know, like, you know, like, you know,
- 8:26like, you know, like, you know, like,
- 8:27you know, like, you know, like, you know,
- 8:27like, you know, like, you know, like,
- 8:28you know, like, you know, like, you know,
- 8:29like, you know, like, you know, like,
- 8:30you know, like, you know, like, you know,
- 8:31like, you know, like, you know, like,
- 8:32you know, like, you know, like, you know,
- 8:33like, you know, like, you know, like,
- 8:34you know, like, you know, like, you know,
- 8:35like
- 8:36And I thought I remembered like the
- 8:38barbell spin saying only two of the top
- 8:40ten have signed.
- 8:42And then I read,
- 8:43I remembered more carefully that spin said
- 8:47two of the top ten games athletes had
- 8:50signed.
- 8:51So actually,
- 8:52like it may be closer to seventy than
- 8:55I gave it credit for.
- 8:57But in the moment, I was like, man,
- 8:58Will is not telling the truth.
- 9:00Because if only two of the top ten
- 9:02have signed,
- 9:03you're already down to seventy five
- 9:05percent.
- 9:05We're not even talking about the women
- 9:06yet.
- 9:08But when I look at the leaderboard.
- 9:10Actually,
- 9:11like a lot of them have signed in
- 9:13their top ten.
- 9:17So if we look,
- 9:18like we know Sprague is signed.
- 9:20We know Pepper hasn't.
- 9:21Gerrard hasn't.
- 9:22Medeiros hasn't.
- 9:23Roman did sign.
- 9:24Gee signed.
- 9:26Tudor signed.
- 9:27Chandler, Yona, and Enola Kai signed.
- 9:31So really only three in the top ten
- 9:34didn't sign of their leaderboard,
- 9:36and it's Dallin, Ricky, and Justin.
- 9:39And then Jeff Adler said he did not
- 9:44sign.
- 9:46So that's four of the top twenty.
- 9:47They've invited three of the next ten.
- 9:52So they're one shy at this point if
- 9:55everybody else signed.
- 9:59But they have announced anything on the
- 10:01women's side.
- 10:03On the women's side of the top ten,
- 10:04the only one we know has signed is
- 10:07Emma Tall.
- 10:08And the only one we know hasn't signed
- 10:10is Lucy Campbell.
- 10:15We know Lucy Campbell said no,
- 10:17and we know Emma Tall said yes.
- 10:19The other eight,
- 10:20we have no idea on the women's side
- 10:22if they have signed or not.
- 10:24And why are they waiting?
- 10:29Why are they waiting?
- 10:33It makes no sense.
- 10:34Like,
- 10:37Are they trying to hide something?
- 10:38Because once you get to Andrea Solberg,
- 10:41we know she signed.
- 10:42Lydia Fish did.
- 10:43Sydney did.
- 10:44Emily did.
- 10:48And then we know Oda did.
- 10:51And that's all we know.
- 10:52So there's a lot of gaps here.
- 10:55We don't know Ella.
- 10:56We don't know Jennifer.
- 10:57We don't know Mano.
- 10:58We don't know Hannah.
- 11:00And we don't know Danny Spiegel.
- 11:01And then we only know one has in
- 11:04the top ten.
- 11:07So it is,
- 11:11it's crazy that they haven't released more
- 11:13information about that.
- 11:19Grace is fifteen forty says maybe people
- 11:20are trying to negotiate.
- 11:22The new rule is that you don't get
- 11:23to negotiate anymore.
- 11:25That where you finish.
- 11:27is what um salary you make now so
- 11:31first place got a hundred thousand dollar
- 11:33contract so james sprague won the tour
- 11:36last year means he gets a hundred thousand
- 11:39dollar contract going into this year it's
- 11:42not negotiated anymore you have to you get
- 11:46what you earned from the previous season
- 11:49now with all the people withdrawing you
- 11:51can move up
- 11:53And maybe your number is different than
- 11:55you thought it would be.
- 11:56Maybe you finished fourth,
- 11:59but you moved up to second.
- 12:01So now you're making an eighty thousand
- 12:03dollar contract instead of a sixty.
- 12:06But you cannot negotiate.
- 12:07It's where you finished.
- 12:17Corey says Mano Anganese is my favorite
- 12:19element on the periodic table.
- 12:20Isn't that wild?
- 12:21She has a crazy name.
- 12:23She's a fun person to talk to.
- 12:26Really fun.
- 12:41Okay.
- 12:45John George, I finished tenth,
- 12:48but are now the number two.
- 12:49Do I get number two money or ten
- 12:51money?
- 12:51You get the two money, John.
- 12:59And it happens because we know like Nick
- 13:05Matthew, Colin Bossard,
- 13:07and one other person that was outside the
- 13:10top twenty have been invited.
- 13:12So they're not going to come without
- 13:14money.
- 13:16Oh, Luka Djokic.
- 13:20So those three were invited.
- 13:22There was no money for twenty-first,
- 13:24twenty-second, or twenty-third.
- 13:26There now is.
- 13:34So, Grace,
- 13:35the other thing is it was said publicly
- 13:38that their window has closed.
- 13:40So they know who is signed and who
- 13:42hasn't.
- 13:43They had a window to sign their contract
- 13:45or not.
- 13:46And that has ended for the initial forty
- 13:49athletes who earned a pro card.
- 13:52Now we're just waiting to see who it
- 13:54is because they haven't announced it.
- 13:55Now they've made two announcements with a
- 14:01media release,
- 14:03and it listed all the people that we
- 14:06know for sure,
- 14:08but there's a good chunk we have no
- 14:09idea whether they are or not.
- 14:14Seamus says,
- 14:15is WFP like the minor leagues?
- 14:17I think it's become the developmental
- 14:19league for sure.
- 14:21And I think that's the right size for
- 14:22it.
- 14:23And I was thinking about this last night
- 14:25and this morning.
- 14:26You know,
- 14:27when the USFL first came into football in
- 14:30the early eighties,
- 14:31they tried to compete directly with the
- 14:33NFL and they got thumped.
- 14:36Then they moved to a different part of
- 14:37the year, a different season.
- 14:40And they actually started to make money
- 14:43and move in a direction that was
- 14:45successful.
- 14:47And with that,
- 14:48they actually started gaining talent.
- 14:50They were able to sign people away from
- 14:52the NFL to their league.
- 14:56Then they tried to sue the NFL and
- 14:58they put so much money in that basket
- 15:00and they actually won.
- 15:02But the money awarded to them was so
- 15:05nominal.
- 15:05It was like three dollars or it was
- 15:08ridiculous.
- 15:10Even though they won the verdict,
- 15:11it bankrupted them.
- 15:16So I think that it's very similar to
- 15:18what's happening.
- 15:20With W.F.P.
- 15:23WFP tried to go head-to-head with the
- 15:27CrossFit Games season.
- 15:30After one year,
- 15:31I think the athletes decided they can't do
- 15:33both,
- 15:33and many of them decided that it was
- 15:36more conducive to do the CrossFit Games
- 15:38season than to do the WFP season.
- 15:45So now the people that are doing WFP
- 15:47are those people that
- 15:50don't realistically have a shot at winning
- 15:53the CrossFit Games.
- 15:54Because winning the CrossFit Games is more
- 15:56money than you can make at either one
- 15:58of the leagues, seasons, whatever.
- 16:04If you don't have a legit shot at
- 16:06winning,
- 16:07this is a great place to develop your
- 16:08skills.
- 16:10And where the WFP needs to capitalize on
- 16:13this is to create a brand loyalty,
- 16:17treat these athletes so well,
- 16:20and give them this guaranteed money to
- 16:24work on their skills, to get better,
- 16:27to move up the ranks as a top-end
- 16:29athlete,
- 16:31and then treat them so well that they
- 16:33don't want to leave you,
- 16:34that they want to keep playing in your
- 16:37sport.
- 16:40That's the way they have to move going
- 16:44forward.
- 16:45Instead of coming in and owning everything
- 16:48and thinking you can take over everything,
- 16:50now you have to develop this league.
- 16:53Now you're going to take...
- 16:55And we're not talking bad athletes.
- 16:57We're just talking about not top ten
- 17:00athletes.
- 17:01And again,
- 17:01we don't know what's happening on the
- 17:02women's side.
- 17:03We still have to wait for that.
- 17:05But on the men's side,
- 17:07you have a couple top ten athletes,
- 17:09and then you have a lot of those
- 17:10people that finished eleven through thirty
- 17:14at the CrossFit Games.
- 17:16Can you develop them?
- 17:18Can you develop brand loyalty?
- 17:20Can you make it worth their while to
- 17:23stick around with you?
- 17:28That's their only shot now.
- 17:32And maybe,
- 17:34maybe through the development of what
- 17:37they've done,
- 17:38it's right-sized them to a place where
- 17:41they can succeed more.
- 17:50And I think that that is what's happening.
- 17:52And I hope that they look in the
- 17:54mirror and they look at this and say,
- 17:58This is our strategy going forward.
- 18:00We're not going to try to take over
- 18:01the world.
- 18:02We're going to build our brand and try
- 18:05to advance forward with what we have.
- 18:14David Reed says,
- 18:15WFP is D-II to the CrossFit Games D-I.
- 18:19I don't think it's that far of a
- 18:21jump though, David.
- 18:22I think it is...
- 18:25The CrossFit Games are the Big Ten.
- 18:29And WFP is the ACC.
- 18:36ACC.
- 18:40Because WP is still playing with James
- 18:42Bragg, Roman Krennikoff.
- 18:44You've got Nick Matthew and Nate Ackerman
- 18:48and BKG, Ty Jenkins, Pat Vellner,
- 18:53Yellow Hosta, Colton Mertens, Jack Farlow,
- 18:56Chandler Smith, Yona Koski.
- 18:59Those are...
- 19:01still high-end athletes.
- 19:04They just are none of the people you're
- 19:05going to roll off the tip of your
- 19:07tongue and say they have a shot at
- 19:09winning the CrossFit Games.
- 19:14But they're going to be competitive and on
- 19:16any given event or any given Sunday or
- 19:18any given whatever you want to call it
- 19:21could win an event.
- 19:32And Roman and James gives it some
- 19:33legitimacy.
- 19:37Now again,
- 19:37we have no idea what it's going to
- 19:39be like on the women's side because they
- 19:40have not announced all of those moves yet.
- 19:48I think you're making my point when D-I
- 19:50athletes compete against D-II, they win.
- 19:52Yeah, but here's what...
- 19:54I just think you made the leap between
- 19:56the two.
- 19:57D-I to D-II is too big of a
- 20:00gap.
- 20:00It's not that big of a gap.
- 20:03It is like a powerhouse Big Ten conference
- 20:06or SEC versus the ACC.
- 20:10It's not that Pitt can't beat Penn State
- 20:14or can't beat Ohio State.
- 20:16It's just Ohio State's going to be
- 20:17favored.
- 20:19Like Colton Mertens could win any weekend
- 20:25if the programming is right.
- 20:28But James Sprague is going to be favored
- 20:30over Colton Mertens in almost all
- 20:33situations.
- 20:35It doesn't mean Colton can't win,
- 20:38and Colton will win aspects of that.
- 20:42He just may not win that entire weekend.
- 20:53So the gap is not like Corey and
- 20:55I.
- 20:55Corey being Big Ten and me being JMU.
- 21:00Exactly.
- 21:05And someone like Colton signing is
- 21:08actually like a big coup for the WFP.
- 21:12The man has a ton of followers.
- 21:14He is...
- 21:16great on screen,
- 21:18he is going to win events,
- 21:20and he is so popular,
- 21:22and he's going to do it with a
- 21:23big crowd,
- 21:25and it's people like that that can take
- 21:27advantage of this money,
- 21:29this opportunity to advance their career.
- 21:37I think it's just the WFP being kind
- 21:41of smacked in the face to say...
- 21:45This is where you should have been all
- 21:46along.
- 21:49Trying to take on the games was a
- 21:50big mistake.
- 21:51No matter how much money you have,
- 21:54the games has prestige.
- 21:56It has time.
- 21:58It has time-honored tradition.
- 22:00It has all of those things that you
- 22:02can't buy.
- 22:05And they tried to buy their way in.
- 22:11And, Corey,
- 22:11you are not the Little Sisters of the
- 22:13Blind.
- 22:13You are not.
- 22:18So I know I bash on the WFP
- 22:22a lot.
- 22:24I criticize.
- 22:25I don't hate them.
- 22:27I want them to succeed.
- 22:29I want these athletes to have some
- 22:31opportunity they never had before.
- 22:34I've always been a champion for that next
- 22:36tier of athletes that don't get all the
- 22:39sponsorship dollars that the top end
- 22:41athletes do.
- 22:43And to actually make some money,
- 22:46develop themselves, develop their career,
- 22:49and then maybe,
- 22:50maybe WFP can actually create some brand
- 22:52loyalty to them over CrossFit.
- 22:57But they're going to have to work to
- 22:58do that.
- 23:07NAI,
- 23:07but telling WFP investors you're going to
- 23:09be second will cut off the bank funds
- 23:11quickly.
- 23:13I think the dynamic of the WFP funds
- 23:17and who's supplying them is different than
- 23:19a typical business.
- 23:21It's not generally your parents funding
- 23:26your business venture.
- 23:28It is usually like investors who are
- 23:30trying to make their money back.
- 23:32Here,
- 23:33it's a parents trying to help their kids
- 23:36be successful.
- 23:38And maybe, just maybe,
- 23:40being successful is taking a step back
- 23:42before you take two steps forward.
- 23:46They still got James Sprague to sign.
- 23:49They still got Roman Krennikoff to sign.
- 23:51They got Colton Mertens.
- 23:54They got Chandler Smith.
- 23:56They've got people that are popular in the
- 23:58sport to sign.
- 24:00That's why I'm saying the gap isn't as
- 24:02big as D-I to D-II.
- 24:08The gap is much smaller than that.
- 24:11But they're going to have to work if
- 24:12they want to compete.
- 24:14They're just going to have to work.
- 24:20And in the water is wet category,
- 24:25Kenneth DeLapp says Colton is good enough
- 24:26for me to watch.
- 24:30Yeah, we know Kenneth.
- 24:33Nobody has a bigger supporter than
- 24:35Nobody is a bigger supporter of an athlete
- 24:37than you are of Colton.
- 24:43Everybody in the world should find someone
- 24:45who loves them as much as Kenneth loves
- 24:47Colton.
- 24:52It would make us all a big, happy,
- 24:56loving family.
- 25:01So the other thing I have to,
- 25:03I have to a one o'clock meeting today.
- 25:05So I'm going to keep this a little
- 25:06bit shorter today.
- 25:09Corey sent me.
- 25:15Water actually isn't wet.
- 25:17It just makes other things wet.
- 25:20There's always that one person,
- 25:22always that one person.
- 25:24Yeah.
- 25:30the ring doorbell camera we talked about
- 25:31yesterday corey sent me a post apparently
- 25:34i am not the only one freaking out
- 25:35about this there are several people
- 25:39freaking out about this technology and the
- 25:42ai cluster of ring doorbell cameras able
- 25:46to find your lost dog um ring came
- 25:50out and said
- 25:54just like Vicki did yesterday,
- 25:56that it is an exclusively you have to
- 26:00opt in to get this thing.
- 26:03In addition,
- 26:04it is only to be used on animals.
- 26:08Now,
- 26:09if it can find an animal using AI,
- 26:15how far of a stretch are we until
- 26:17that becomes a human?
- 26:23I am very,
- 26:24very reluctant to think this is a good
- 26:27thing.
- 26:29Again, yesterday I said,
- 26:31this is very person of interest.
- 26:33The TV show person of interest for me.
- 26:36I it's,
- 26:38it's like the beginning of that big
- 26:40brother, somebody watching and, um,
- 26:44collecting that data to know everybody's,
- 26:47uh, every single move.
- 26:50Um,
- 26:54I am just not a fan of this
- 26:56at all.
- 27:02At AI,
- 27:02I got rid of ring and blink a
- 27:04long time ago.
- 27:04IT nerd here.
- 27:06Local storage only.
- 27:08Yeah.
- 27:10Yeah,
- 27:11I have a blink and I'm really seriously
- 27:14considering disconnecting it.
- 27:18But it's not my doorbell camera that's
- 27:20going to see me.
- 27:21It's going to be my neighbor's ring or
- 27:25blank doorbell camera that sees me.
- 27:27And that's what sucks.
- 27:31That's what sucks.
- 27:37They can already find people,
- 27:38cars using traffic cams and facial ID.
- 27:42This is just using people's home systems
- 27:44to do the same.
- 27:47It just goes,
- 27:48like when you're on a public highway,
- 27:50I get it.
- 27:50You're out there and you're exposed.
- 27:53When I'm mowing my lawn,
- 27:54I don't want people seeing me.
- 27:57I don't know.
- 27:58It just is,
- 27:59it feels way more voyeuristic than driving
- 28:02down a public highway to being filmed in
- 28:07your front yard.
- 28:14It's such a, such a mess.
- 28:22Uh, clock says,
- 28:22I heard the British also don't think the
- 28:24sky is blue.
- 28:25They swear it's gray.
- 28:27Yeah.
- 28:27If you missed the beginning of the show,
- 28:28Lito already told us that the sky is
- 28:30gray.
- 28:34Um, they have not,
- 28:35they've only seen the sun for three point
- 28:37five seconds this calendar year.
- 28:41Um,
- 28:44Before I forget,

- 29:45in yeah i'm taking i'll take my fifty
- 29:49degrees man it it's been a long time
- 29:51so
- 29:54Did you guys see that the CrossFit L
- 29:55four, the relaunch,
- 29:58the new video version of the L four
- 30:02sold out in like fifteen minutes,
- 30:05fifteen or twenty minutes.
- 30:07I saw comments that like nobody needs
- 30:10this.
- 30:10It's such a select group.
- 30:12CrossFit isn't growing,
- 30:14so they shouldn't be worried about these
- 30:15niche things.
- 30:17If you put out something and it sells
- 30:19out in fifteen or twenty minutes,
- 30:21probably should do it.
- 30:24Probably should do it.
- 30:26Probably means there was a demand for that
- 30:28thing.
- 30:30If you're selling it out in fifteen or
- 30:31twenty minutes, people really wanted it.
- 30:36Um...
- 30:37They already have a wait list available.
- 30:39So if people cancel,
- 30:41you can grab a spot if you had
- 30:44didn't get in on the initial sale.
- 30:47But they they only have the capacity to
- 30:49do so many at a time.
- 30:52And then I'm sure they'll reopen for some
- 30:54other things.
- 30:56Craig Pastley says that is great news.
- 30:58It is.
- 30:59Anytime you have a product that you can
- 31:02put out to the public and sell in.
- 31:06And not have any more to sell.
- 31:10That's a good thing.
- 31:11I don't care what business you're in.
- 31:13That's a good thing.
- 31:14Demand is greater than the inventory that
- 31:18you have.
- 31:19And that's awesome.
- 31:25Um,
- 31:27Last thing I'm going to share with you
- 31:31This is from Mike Halpin's Instagram
- 31:35account.
- 31:35This was as of yesterday.
- 31:38We are currently sitting at ninety seven
- 31:40thousand five hundred and forty six people
- 31:43signed up for the open.
- 31:45We're almost to that hundred thousand
- 31:49registrations.
- 31:50Then this was as of yesterday.
- 31:52I don't know where we are today,
- 31:54but that is an increase of thirty eight
- 31:56point four percent over last year.
- 31:59Going into this year's Open,
- 32:00so many people predicted that it would
- 32:03actually be lower than last year.
- 32:09I am happy to say it is not
- 32:10lower than last year.
- 32:11It is actually growing and doing well.
- 32:16Now,
- 32:16Halpin also points out on his next slide
- 32:21that twenty-two, twenty-three,
- 32:25and twenty-four had more than a hundred
- 32:27thousand by this point.
- 32:30Now that's great that that happened,
- 32:34but something happened in twenty four that
- 32:38created a backslide on that.
- 32:41And we all know it.
- 32:43So I don't think it needs to be
- 32:45pointed out.
- 32:47We all know we're fighting against twenty
- 32:49twenty five and growing off of that.
- 32:52Twenty four happened.
- 32:53We had a death in the family and
- 32:55now we're trying to move forward.
- 32:57Yesterday we saw a huge dip because or
- 33:02last year we saw a huge dip because
- 33:04people were affected by that death.
- 33:07Now it's trying to rebuild,
- 33:09get through the grieving process,
- 33:11and keep going forward.
- 33:13So that's what we should be judging on,
- 33:16not pre the death in the family.
- 33:23So I'm super proud of what CrossFit has
- 33:26put out from a media marketing sense to
- 33:30get the interest out there.
- 33:32I think a lot of the third-party media
- 33:34have chipped in
- 33:36To give more people the the news that
- 33:39it's out there sharing their stories doing
- 33:42their thing,
- 33:43and I think that that has been a
- 33:46tremendous effort throughout the space um.
- 33:52So.
- 33:54Super pumped.
- 33:55Great numbers.
- 33:56Hopefully we're already over a hundred
- 33:58thousand signups,
- 34:00but hopefully we'll find out.
- 34:02I wish I knew a way where I
- 34:04could pull those numbers and have them up
- 34:05to date,
- 34:06but I'll keep watching for more updates to
- 34:09see where we are and keep you guys
- 34:12updated along the way.
- 34:16Well, today's been fun.
- 34:17Sorry it's a little bit shorter show,
- 34:19but I have to get off.
- 34:20I have a meeting at one o'clock,
- 34:23ten minutes from now.
- 34:25So I have to go up and get
- 34:26signed into that.
- 34:27Hope you guys have a great rest of
- 34:29your day.
- 34:29I got to get back to work.
- 34:30You knuckleheads get back to work too.
- 34:32And we'll see everybody next time.
- 34:34Don't forget to like and subscribe to the
- 34:35channel.
- 34:36With that, have a great day.
- 34:38We'll see everybody tomorrow on lunch.
- 34:40Oh, tonight.
- 34:41Sunday night CrossFit on a Tuesday night.
- 34:43Tonight.
- 34:44Tonight.
- 34:46We'll be live tonight,
- 34:47Sunday Night CrossFit Talk.
- 34:48Bye, guys.
