- 0:00Speaker 1: Woo!
- 0:01Speaker 2: Still gots.
- 0:01Speaker 1: Woo!
- 0:02Speaker 3: I gotta be honest with you, Bruce, there's a good
- 0:03Speaker 3: chance I'd be high anyway.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Woo! And I'm wondering how the football weekend was. Were
- 0:07Speaker 2: you able to watch it? Wow, what happened? Oh, I'm
- 0:11Speaker 2: tired of him. I'm serious. How about that?
- 0:14Speaker 4: In company. We are mother shuckers, baby.
- 0:17Speaker 5: Woo!
- 0:17Speaker 1: Bruce, does Faison Brandon's name sound like it's on backwards?
- 0:20Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It's time to get your.
- 0:23Speaker 2: It's time to get.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Your racket to get the all boat, the all boat.
- 0:27Speaker 2: You got nothing right there. This is not going well.
- 0:31Speaker 2: This is Stu Gotts and company. Stu, back to you.
- 0:35Speaker 2: We love having Jessica Smetana on.
- 0:37Speaker 3: She's the host of the College Football Happy Hour with
- 0:39Speaker 3: Lucy Rodin.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Also, our Jets correspondent. She was at the game. Why?
- 0:45Speaker 2: It's such a great question.
- 0:50Speaker 6: I was invited to go to the game and sit
- 0:52Speaker 6: in a suite with a group of women in sports
- 0:57Speaker 6: together and sportish. I'm sure you've heard of neither as
- 1:00Speaker 6: as someone who's not a sports women's sports connoisseur.
- 1:03Speaker 7: And that's OK.
- 1:04Speaker 6: But I was excited because I've never been to MetLife
- 1:07Speaker 6: Stadium before, even though I've lived in New York for
- 1:10Speaker 6: a very long, long part of my adult life, but
- 1:13Speaker 6: it's so far away from where I live and it's
- 1:15Speaker 6: such a pain in the ass to get to.
- 1:17Speaker 7: But you know what? I said, let's do it.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:19Speaker 6: Let's see this Jets-Dolphins game, Stu Gatz. Let's see what
- 1:22Speaker 6: we got cooking in the NFL right now.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:24Speaker 7: So. It was not good.
- 1:26Speaker 3: It was not good. It never is, Jess. You can
- 1:30Speaker 3: keep going back. It's never going to be good.
- 1:34Speaker 6: It wasn't until, so I left early because like I said,
- 1:37Speaker 6: I had a long ways home to go and I
- 1:40Speaker 6: had so much work I had to do Sunday night.
- 1:42Speaker 6: And it wasn't until I got home and the game
- 1:45Speaker 6: ended that I saw that for some reason, this Jets
- 1:49Speaker 6: game in particular was, was one of the worst ones
- 1:53Speaker 6: of all time. I saw Jets fans posting the way,
- 1:57Speaker 6: not just the LOL, the Jets. Like, people were despondent
- 2:00Speaker 6: after this loss to the 0-5, now, you know, 1-5
- 2:04Speaker 6: Miami Dolphins.
- 2:06Speaker 7: And I went back and I watched the end of
- 2:08Speaker 7: the game.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Tough.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I mean, the Dolphins wanted to lose that game. The
- 2:14Speaker 3: Jets just wanted it more.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I mean.
- 2:16Speaker 7: Yeah, it's so true. It's so true. I saw a
- 2:19Speaker 7: funny one.
- 2:21Speaker 6: That said, this guy Paul Killagallon, I don't know who
- 2:25Speaker 6: he is, but he said, there is no rock bottom
- 2:27Speaker 6: as a fan. Only trap doors, sub-basements, deep tavern systems,
- 2:31Speaker 6: and vast unexplored subterranean misery.
- 2:34Speaker 7: There is always more.
- 2:38Speaker 3: So wait, how long was the drive from your wherever
- 2:41Speaker 3: you are in New York city to get to MetLife,
- 2:43Speaker 3: it had to take at least an hour, right?
- 2:45Speaker 2: An hour and a half.
- 2:45Speaker 6: Well, well, well over an hour and 95% of it
- 2:49Speaker 6: was spent in a tunnel or multiple tunnels. I lost
- 2:53Speaker 6: track of time and space and also on the way
- 2:56Speaker 6: to the game. I, so I actually, I took the
- 2:58Speaker 6: train home, which also took over an hour, but at
- 3:00Speaker 6: least it was a train. So I didn't get car sick,
- 3:02Speaker 6: but on the way there, the Steelers saints game was on,
- 3:05Speaker 6: but we were in a tunnel the entire drive.
- 3:07Speaker 7: So I couldn't even watch, couldn't even watch the game.
- 3:10Speaker 6: When I finally put the game on, I saw Aaron
- 3:12Speaker 6: Rodgers scramble for a first down in the fourth quarter.
- 3:15Speaker 7: And I was like, I... What... what the hell was that?
- 3:19Speaker 7: I didn't know he could do that.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yes. Well, he couldn't do it for us. He does
- 3:22Speaker 2: it for you. I mean, right.
- 3:24Speaker 6: Right.
- 3:24Speaker 7: I said, maybe it's an omen for the jets game.
- 3:26Speaker 7: Maybe the jets are going to win today.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:28Speaker 4: What decade did I emerge from when I came out
- 3:31Speaker 4: of this tunnel? Aaron Rogers is running for first down.
- 3:33Speaker 2: It's a tunnel. What decade did I emerge? It transports
- 3:36Speaker 2: her back in time. Yes.
- 3:39Speaker 5: Literally.
- 3:40Speaker 6: I came out of this tunnel in 1999 and the,
- 3:43Speaker 6: Tony Soprano was driving next to me.
- 3:45Speaker 7: It was crazy.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Jess, there are some moments where my Jets fandom that
- 3:49Speaker 1: I have suppressed somewhere back in.
- 3:51Speaker 2: The deep of my mind still comes out.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Aaron Glenn, me and Mikey have been sending the bat
- 3:58Speaker 1: signal that it's over for Aaron Glenn. Like Aaron Glenn
- 4:00Speaker 1: could do whatever he wants the rest of the season.
- 4:03Speaker 1: There's no coming back from him every week. He kind
- 4:05Speaker 1: of just shows more and more incompetence. They were asking
- 4:09Speaker 1: him about not calling timeouts before the half. And his
- 4:12Speaker 1: explanation for why he didn't call timeouts was, we just
- 4:15Speaker 1: felt like we were going to stop them and be
- 4:18Speaker 1: able to get the ball back. That doesn't even make sense.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Well, it's the exact reason you use your timeouts.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Right.
- 4:25Speaker 7: You know what, Taylor?
- 4:27Speaker 6: The only defense I can give of Aaron Glenn or
- 4:29Speaker 6: any other football coach is that if you look at
- 4:33Speaker 6: any level of the sport, I don't think anyone knows
- 4:36Speaker 6: how to use their timeouts. I mean, I'm watching Kurt
- 4:39Speaker 6: Cignetti who's supposed to be this like football wizard. I'm
- 4:41Speaker 6: pretty sure they ended regulation with a timeout against Michigan.
- 4:45Speaker 7: Luckily they won in overtime.
- 4:46Speaker 6: But I'm like, man, what is going on with these
- 4:49Speaker 6: coaches and their timeouts and in college football too. Now
- 4:51Speaker 6: with the two minute timeout, which I don't, I guess
- 4:54Speaker 6: we're not allowed to call the two minute.
- 4:55Speaker 7: Warning or whatever.
- 4:56Speaker 6: It just seems like coaches are just letting the clock
- 4:58Speaker 6: wind down to two minutes and take, instead of stopping
- 5:01Speaker 6: the clock before the two minute warning, like every single weekend,
- 5:04Speaker 6: like it's happening constantly. So, I guess maybe no one
- 5:07Speaker 6: knows how to use timeouts and Aaron Glenn is just,
- 5:10Speaker 6: you know, he's not special.
- 5:11Speaker 7: He's just one of, one of the other coaches that
- 5:13Speaker 7: doesn't know how to use them.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Are you excited before we get to college football? We'll
- 5:16Speaker 3: have the weekend observations as well here with Jess. Are
- 5:19Speaker 3: you excited for your Steelers? I, I guess, I don't
- 5:24Speaker 3: know how I'm supposed to feel.
- 5:25Speaker 6: They lost to the Browns, but then it's like the
- 5:27Speaker 6: Browns are now tied to.
- 5:30Speaker 7: Lead the division right now. They're, or I guess they're
- 5:32Speaker 7: in the lead. They're five and two.
- 5:33Speaker 6: So, Maybe the Browns are good or maybe everyone's just bad.
- 5:37Speaker 7: I don't know. Should I be happy?
- 5:39Speaker 6: I don't know what to think because they want this
- 5:42Speaker 6: is five and two is a start that I don't
- 5:45Speaker 6: think the Steelers have had in a while. It's a
- 5:47Speaker 6: pretty good start, but I don't feel comfortable or confident
- 5:52Speaker 6: in them.
- 5:53Speaker 7: Generally speaking.
- 5:54Speaker 3: So are you asking me, should you be happy? I mean,
- 5:57Speaker 3: you're talking to a Jets fan. You're asking me if
- 5:59Speaker 3: you should be happy to be five and two and
- 6:01Speaker 3: tied for first place in your division, a division that
- 6:03Speaker 3: has Cincinnati and Baltimore in it.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Yes, you should be happy.
- 6:07Speaker 7: They're still winning games by like a field goal though.
- 6:10Speaker 7: And like, I don't know.
- 6:12Speaker 6: The moment of the year is still when Aaron Rodgers
- 6:16Speaker 6: yelled at Mike McCarthy, like, get the effing play in
- 6:19Speaker 6: or whatever.
- 6:20Speaker 7: And then Mike McCarthy was like, effing asshole. It was
- 6:23Speaker 7: so good. That was probably my favorite moment of the season.
- 6:26Speaker 7: So if nothing else, at least we have that. But
- 6:28Speaker 7: it's been a weird season.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Jess, it feels like Jets fans are looking for their
- 6:32Speaker 1: version of John Harbaugh. And the one that Jets fans
- 6:36Speaker 1: always go back to is, is Mike Tomlin. They're hoping
- 6:38Speaker 1: that Mike Tomlin is the one that comes to one
- 6:41Speaker 1: Jets drive and saves the franchise. As somebody who has
- 6:45Speaker 1: lived through the Tomlin experience, what would you tell Jets
- 6:48Speaker 1: fans that are hoping for that?
- 6:51Speaker 6: I mean, I would say he's obviously incredibly competent and
- 6:56Speaker 6: maybe the Jets have lacked that over the years. But
- 7:00Speaker 6: he seems pretty happy doing Football Night in America and
- 7:02Speaker 6: building his Minecraft city.
- 7:03Speaker 7: So I don't know if that's something that he would even...
- 7:06Speaker 7: Why would you... Why would you want those problems? Why
- 7:08Speaker 7: would you go back to coaching to coach the Jets?
- 7:10Speaker 2: Right. You're right.
- 7:12Speaker 3: And he's getting better at TV, at the doing of television.
- 7:16Speaker 3: And now that you've been to MetLife, you're right. That
- 7:17Speaker 3: would be good advice for Tomlin.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Why? Don't do this, man.
- 7:21Speaker 7: Like, it's crazy.
- 7:23Speaker 1: There's so much to live for.
- 7:27Speaker 6: It was like a very weird scene though, because the
- 7:30Speaker 6: upper deck was pretty sparsely full, you know, not very full.
- 7:35Speaker 7: On Sunday and, You know, division game.
- 7:38Speaker 6: I saw a stat, Stugatz, actually I wanted to read you,
- 7:40Speaker 6: which is that Tua and Malik Willis are a combined
- 7:43Speaker 6: 9-0 against the Jets now, which is fascinating.
- 7:48Speaker 7: But it was so beautiful out.
- 7:51Speaker 6: Like, it was a gorgeous day, gorgeous October day in
- 7:54Speaker 6: the Meadowlands. And then I'm watching the play on the field,
- 7:57Speaker 6: and I'm like, this is gross.
- 7:59Speaker 7: I don't like this. I really, like, just the.
- 8:04Speaker 6: The contrast between what a wonderful day it was and
- 8:07Speaker 6: the type of football I was watching.
- 8:09Speaker 7: I didn't enjoy it.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Taylor, put it on the poll.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Does anything ruin a beautiful fall day like the Jets?
- 8:17Speaker 2: Just the Jets. I mean, Jesus.
- 8:19Speaker 1: We have this sound of how the Jets fans are
- 8:22Speaker 1: feeling today. It's from former WFAN host Brandon Tierney on
- 8:27Speaker 1: his podcast BT Unleashed. And if you want to... encapsulate
- 8:33Speaker 1: how jets fans are feeling today, waking up BT knocked
- 8:37Speaker 1: it out of the park here.
- 8:39Speaker 5: So this season's obviously over. And so was the Aaron
- 8:41Speaker 5: Glenn era. It is officially over. I don't give a
- 8:44Speaker 5: rat shit. What happens the rest of this year? And
- 8:47Speaker 5: it's not going to be good. Like the Raiders are
- 8:50Speaker 5: going to probably score 30 on them next week. And again,
- 8:52Speaker 5: you don't get the ball to Garrett Wilson. It's it's,
- 8:54Speaker 5: it's ridiculous.
- 8:55Speaker 2: It's mine. It's mind numbingly.
- 8:58Speaker 5: Dumb that you have a fucking coordinator that who has
- 9:02Speaker 5: a wide receiver like Garrett Wilson, and you don't get
- 9:05Speaker 5: him the football.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Yo, what's up, loser?
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah, man, thanks for letting us get our first win, chump.
- 9:12Speaker 2: See ya, sucker.
- 9:14Speaker 5: That's what he probably just said to Aaron Glenn. All right, man,
- 9:17Speaker 5: I ain't the worst coach in the NFL. What's happening, AG?
- 9:20Speaker 2: See you later, buddy. Here, swallow this. Take the L.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It's over.
- 9:25Speaker 5: So obviously any hope, any hope that this losing just
- 9:32Speaker 5: soulless franchise would give us one fucking year past Halloween
- 9:40Speaker 5: is over.
- 9:42Speaker 2: That's a man.
- 9:43Speaker 3: He's been waiting to podcast his entire life. I mean,
- 9:46Speaker 3: he is dropping F bumps.
- 9:48Speaker 7: Halloween is like a line of demarcation.
- 9:50Speaker 6: Like, please just let him care about football on November 1st.
- 9:53Speaker 2: One time.
- 9:54Speaker 6: Does it make it worse that Jeff Halfley's from New Jersey?
- 9:57Speaker 6: Apparently like his whole family was at the game. Big
- 10:00Speaker 6: first win as a head coach of the Dolphins.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, it just, it all sucks.
- 10:06Speaker 2: It really does. All of it. Halfley, everything. All of it.
- 10:10Speaker 2: A rat's shit, huh? It's a rat's ass, right? I mean... Yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 2: You just got caught up in the moment.
- 10:15Speaker 3: He just wants to curse. He's liberated from WNBA. What
- 10:19Speaker 3: comes out of a rat's ass? Well, shit does, obviously, naturally.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Pellets, yes. Jets football.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Put it on the poll. Does Jets football come out
- 10:29Speaker 3: of a rat's ass? What were your college football takeaways?
- 10:36Speaker 3: You were happy to see BYU lose, right? Because you
- 10:38Speaker 3: lost to them.
- 10:40Speaker 6: I mean, this is the thing that I hate about the,
- 10:43Speaker 6: the 12 team college football playoff soon to be the
- 10:45Speaker 6: 24 team college football playoffs.
- 10:46Speaker 7: You guys is that every week people try to.
- 10:49Speaker 6: Convince you, you have to root for all the teams
- 10:51Speaker 6: you don't like, or the teams in your conference or
- 10:53Speaker 6: the teams that beat you so that your resume is better.
- 10:56Speaker 6: And I I'm not having it. First of all, it
- 10:58Speaker 6: doesn't matter who I root for. It does not have
- 11:01Speaker 6: an impact on the game.
- 11:02Speaker 7: Okay.
- 11:02Speaker 6: If it did, Notre Dame would win the national championship
- 11:05Speaker 6: every single year. Who I root for has no bearing
- 11:08Speaker 6: on what will happen on a given Saturday.
- 11:10Speaker 7: So if I want to be a hater and say, well,
- 11:12Speaker 7: wouldn't it be funny if.
- 11:13Speaker 6: BYU lost because of some Big 12 officiating shenanigans the
- 11:16Speaker 6: week after Notre Dame lost, in small part due to
- 11:20Speaker 6: some Big 12 officiating shenanigans, then let me just do that.
- 11:25Speaker 6: Whatever happens will sort itself out, and if Notre Dame
- 11:27Speaker 6: loses and they don't make it in the playoff, it's
- 11:29Speaker 6: because they lost.
- 11:30Speaker 7: It's not because I was sitting there.
- 11:31Speaker 6: Being like, gee, if only I had rooted for BYU
- 11:33Speaker 6: on Saturday, October 24th, maybe Notre Dame would be in
- 11:37Speaker 6: the playoff right now.
- 11:38Speaker 7: So, first of all, that's my take on that.
- 11:41Speaker 6: Second of all, being a hater is what feels good
- 11:44Speaker 6: about being a sports fan, right? Like, being just a
- 11:48Speaker 6: sicko and a hater and sitting there and watching USC
- 11:51Speaker 6: lose to Wisconsin... That feels really good. And that one
- 11:55Speaker 6: did actually help Notre Dame, so that was great. But
- 11:57Speaker 6: sometimes that's all you need to do is just sit
- 11:58Speaker 6: back and say, let me watch Lincoln Riley score seven
- 12:01Speaker 6: points against Wisconsin.
- 12:02Speaker 7: And does it have any real material impact on the
- 12:05Speaker 7: rest of my life? I mean, no. But it made
- 12:08Speaker 7: me feel really good on Saturday night. But I don't
- 12:11Speaker 7: know if that answers your question, but that's how I
- 12:13Speaker 7: felt this weekend. Notre Dame was on a bye.
- 12:14Speaker 6: Week, and I sat there smugly for 12 hours just
- 12:18Speaker 6: watching all this. Watching Indiana play. score six points in
- 12:22Speaker 6: regulation to Michigan. And then Iowa and Minnesota have the
- 12:27Speaker 6: audacity to have an even worse game right after where
- 12:31Speaker 6: ever there's like four interceptions.
- 12:33Speaker 7: There's like six fumbles. The final score is 13 to 10.
- 12:37Speaker 7: It's disgusting.
- 12:38Speaker 6: And then Oregon and Illinois do the same thing. The
- 12:40Speaker 6: big 10 is just a foul, foul property. And honestly,
- 12:45Speaker 6: the big 10 is, And the ACC right now, fold
- 12:48Speaker 6: the conference. You got NC State losing to Stanford at
- 12:52Speaker 6: 2 a.m. on Friday night, and then they fire their coach.
- 12:55Speaker 6: Why is NC State playing a Friday night game against Stanford?
- 12:59Speaker 6: Why is Cal traveling to Dallas to play SMU?
- 13:04Speaker 7: What are we doing?
- 13:05Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:06Speaker 7: Yes.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Hold it.
- 13:08Speaker 7: The Big 12 and the SEC, that's all I want
- 13:09Speaker 7: to watch for the rest of the season.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Taylor. Yeah, go ahead.
- 13:13Speaker 7: And the Pac-12. I love the Pac-12.
- 13:14Speaker 2: The Pac-12, you can stay.
- 13:15Speaker 7: The Mountain West, you're okay, too.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Wait, so just to be clear, which conferences can we keep?
- 13:19Speaker 3: Just so we're on the same page.
- 13:22Speaker 7: The SEC.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:23Speaker 7: We can keep them.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:24Speaker 7: That's been very entertaining this year. South Carolina, Tennessee, very entertaining.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:28Speaker 7: Um, we'll keep the big 12. The big 12 has
- 13:30Speaker 7: been pretty great.
- 13:31Speaker 6: I mean, that, that BYU UCF game was a spectacular
- 13:35Speaker 6: entertainment product, even though it took like three hours for
- 13:38Speaker 6: the end of the game to finish out.
- 13:41Speaker 7: Um, and I think it also delayed the start of
- 13:43Speaker 7: the world series on Fox.
- 13:44Speaker 6: I don't know, because I barely, I have, I don't
- 13:46Speaker 6: have the bandwidth for baseball right now.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:51Speaker 7: Someone told me the Brewers. Manager went to Notre Dame.
- 13:53Speaker 2: I'm like, great.
- 13:54Speaker 7: I hope they win. I don't know.
- 13:55Speaker 2: I can't.
- 13:56Speaker 7: I don't have time right now. Okay, I'm busy. WBA
- 13:58Speaker 7: finals are going on. It's too much.
- 14:00Speaker 6: We can keep the Pac-12. Oregon State has been great.
- 14:05Speaker 6: They had a bye this weekend, and their star wide
- 14:08Speaker 6: receiver was like, I'm going to do a signing day.
- 14:11Speaker 6: And then he announced that a signing day, he's coming
- 14:12Speaker 6: back to Oregon state next year, which I don't, I
- 14:14Speaker 6: think that's unprecedented. I don't think anyone's ever done that
- 14:17Speaker 6: before in history, but it was awesome. And New Mexico
- 14:20Speaker 6: is pretty great in the mountain West. So we'll give them,
- 14:23Speaker 6: give them credit. I feel like you would like Jason
- 14:26Speaker 6: Eck just as a vibe Stugatz. I think, I think
- 14:28Speaker 6: Taylor and Mikey A would too. So we'll, we'll keep
- 14:31Speaker 6: those four around for now. I don't, I don't care
- 14:35Speaker 6: much for the American this year.
- 14:36Speaker 7: I really don't. It's not been a good year for
- 14:39Speaker 7: the American. UTSA is in first place right now. They're fine.
- 14:42Speaker 6: But it's okay. We'll cast them aside, cast aside the
- 14:46Speaker 6: Sun Belt. Stugatz, did you know, speaking of the Mountain West,
- 14:51Speaker 6: Hawaii played a conference game against Northern Illinois this past weekend?
- 14:56Speaker 2: I saw that, yes. Yes. What are we doing?
- 15:00Speaker 7: But I will say.
- 15:01Speaker 6: Northern Illinois' old conference, the MAC, we can keep them
- 15:04Speaker 6: because they had a game between Ball State and Sac
- 15:06Speaker 6: State this weekend, and I think the Ball Sac game
- 15:08Speaker 6: needs to become.
- 15:09Speaker 7: An annual rivalry.
- 15:10Speaker 2: All right. I like you as a commissioner of college football.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I mean, I do. Yes.
- 15:15Speaker 7: Fold all the conferences. I'm sick of them.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Jess, Jason Eck always looks like he's on the precipice
- 15:21Speaker 1: of beating the crap of one of his players. He
- 15:25Speaker 1: looks like he's about to beat somebody from an inch
- 15:27Speaker 1: of their life.
- 15:29Speaker 6: He had a really, like, I think it was a
- 15:32Speaker 6: personal foul penalty. He had, like, he got in the
- 15:34Speaker 6: player's face. I didn't like that very much. That was
- 15:36Speaker 6: a bad visual. It kind of reminded me of, like,
- 15:39Speaker 6: I think Kirby Smart did that with Mississippi State's quarterback
- 15:43Speaker 6: a couple years ago.
- 15:43Speaker 7: It was, like, a different team, so, like, don't do that.
- 15:47Speaker 7: It was very, very, I don't know. But we'll hopefully,
- 15:51Speaker 7: hopefully they have a good relationship.
- 15:52Speaker 6: And it's one of those things where, like, if you've
- 15:54Speaker 6: ever been on a team and gotten chewed out by someone, like,
- 15:57Speaker 6: some players respond to that. Some players are like, this
- 16:00Speaker 6: is crossing the line. And so I don't know their relationship.
- 16:02Speaker 6: So I can't really say, but as a third party.
- 16:04Speaker 7: Observer, I'm like, Oh, that was terrifying.
- 16:08Speaker 3: You think Jason Eck is someone we'd enjoy talking about
- 16:10Speaker 3: or talking to?
- 16:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 7: I mean, he's got O-line energy.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:14Speaker 7: He's like a.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Honorary Golic type. Very Bobby Knights. I don't know if
- 16:20Speaker 2: I want to talk to Bobby Knights. I don't know.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Get him on the show. Is Arch Manning back, Jess?
- 16:30Speaker 6: Arch Manning has been this same guy for like two
- 16:33Speaker 6: years now. He'll make the NFL QB one throw and
- 16:36Speaker 6: then he will do the stupid interception. And I don't
- 16:40Speaker 6: know what else there is to say at this point.
- 16:42Speaker 6: Like there's a lot of college quarterbacks where if you
- 16:44Speaker 6: put together their best highlights, they don't look as good
- 16:47Speaker 6: as Arch Manning's. But then if you put together Arch
- 16:49Speaker 6: Manning's low lights, it's like, wow, that's pretty bad.
- 16:51Speaker 7: So I don't know.
- 16:53Speaker 6: I mean, part of the issue with Texas is obviously
- 16:55Speaker 6: like the whole offense, like holistically has not been very
- 16:59Speaker 6: good this year. They did find something in the second
- 17:01Speaker 6: half with really Brown running the ball. He had a
- 17:04Speaker 6: really good second half and, Now their O-line has another injury,
- 17:07Speaker 6: so I don't think that bodes well for them. But, yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 6: it's just a mixed bag with him. And that's the
- 17:12Speaker 6: thing about, like, you know, NFL front offices. It's like
- 17:15Speaker 6: you have the traits and you do make the good throws. Like,
- 17:18Speaker 6: they'll take a chance because if you pass on it
- 17:20Speaker 6: and then someone else gets them later, like Lamar Jackson,
- 17:23Speaker 6: you look like an idiot for the rest of your life.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Jess, that's what I was just going to ask. What
- 17:27Speaker 1: would be your level of confidence in drafting any of
- 17:30Speaker 1: these quarterbacks in the first round right now if you
- 17:32Speaker 1: were an NFL team picking in the top ten?
- 17:34Speaker 6: If I had a good answer to that, I would
- 17:36Speaker 6: have a way better paying job than I have right now, Taylor.
- 17:39Speaker 7: I wish I could tell you. I have no idea.
- 17:43Speaker 7: I mean, I think it changes by the minute. That's
- 17:48Speaker 7: all I'll say on that. I also think one thing
- 17:51Speaker 7: that Golik Jr.
- 17:52Speaker 6: And I have talked about a lot is that there's
- 17:53Speaker 6: so much transfer portal movement now that it is really
- 17:57Speaker 6: hard to evaluate O-line play, which obviously has a lot
- 18:00Speaker 6: to do with quarterback play. Um, so maybe that is
- 18:03Speaker 6: something to do with the last three years being like, oh,
- 18:05Speaker 6: we're going to have all these great quarterbacks. And then
- 18:07Speaker 6: we only have like a couple pretty good quarterbacks in
- 18:10Speaker 6: the NFL draft. But, um, when all of a sudden
- 18:12Speaker 6: done at the end of the year, the one that
- 18:14Speaker 6: I do really like, and I know he's a little small,
- 18:16Speaker 6: so maybe he won't go as high as he could,
- 18:18Speaker 6: but Trinidad Chambliss.
- 18:20Speaker 7: Is pretty impressive.
- 18:22Speaker 6: Even though they lost the game to Texas, obviously most
- 18:25Speaker 6: teams aren't getting back into that one.
- 18:27Speaker 7: The way that Ole Miss was able to get back
- 18:29Speaker 7: into that one with him being the quarterback on the
- 18:32Speaker 7: other side of it.
- 18:32Speaker 1: So the more I watch these quarterbacks, the more I
- 18:35Speaker 1: like Jeremiah Smith going number one, I think.
- 18:38Speaker 2: It's not going to happen though. I mean, I'm with you,
- 18:40Speaker 2: but it's not going to happen. Right.
- 18:43Speaker 7: I don't know. I mean, Someone will talk themselves into
- 18:45Speaker 7: a quarterback for sure.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Before we get to the weekend observations here, bigger surprise
- 18:50Speaker 3: for you this season. Number nine, Kentucky, number seven, UCLA.
- 18:56Speaker 7: That's a great question.
- 18:57Speaker 6: So not to bring it back to Notre Dame again,
- 18:59Speaker 6: but Kentucky's quarterback, Kenny Minchie was in a quarterback battle
- 19:03Speaker 6: with CJ Carr up until the bitter end of last
- 19:06Speaker 6: year's preseason. So I had a hunch that he would
- 19:09Speaker 6: be pretty good because CJ has been pretty good. So
- 19:10Speaker 6: if it was that hard for them, To distinguish between
- 19:13Speaker 6: the two, I thought he's probably pretty good. Now, Kentucky
- 19:16Speaker 6: has won some really close games. The margins have been
- 19:20Speaker 6: razor thin in conference for them. Winning multiple games by
- 19:24Speaker 6: one point in overtime is obviously very difficult to pull
- 19:27Speaker 6: off once, let alone twice in the SEC or.
- 19:29Speaker 7: Any conference, really.
- 19:30Speaker 6: But I thought both coaching hires were going to be good.
- 19:35Speaker 6: I just didn't really expect them to be... as good,
- 19:38Speaker 6: like both teams have won seven games already. I didn't
- 19:40Speaker 6: expect them to be that good this year. And also
- 19:43Speaker 6: UCLA continues to win despite Nico being hurt, which is
- 19:46Speaker 6: pretty impressive. And I think it also just speaks to, um,
- 19:50Speaker 6: perhaps just a level of parody in both conferences that,
- 19:54Speaker 6: you know, has leveled out the playing field a little bit.
- 19:58Speaker 6: But I definitely thought of all the coaches that were
- 20:01Speaker 6: hired over the past year. Chesney at UCLA was amazing.
- 20:06Speaker 6: seemed like a no-brainer and will stein seemed like a
- 20:09Speaker 6: no-brainer and i think that is even more evident by
- 20:11Speaker 6: the fact that oregon has been a freaking mess this
- 20:14Speaker 6: year so i'm i'm not that surprised but i think you.
- 20:17Speaker 7: Know getting the roi this quickly is is pretty impressive.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Uh quickly here just dawned on me if the bears
- 20:22Speaker 3: ever met the steelers in the super bowl who would
- 20:24Speaker 3: you root for Points.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I would.
- 20:28Speaker 7: It depends who's winning.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I would, you know.
- 20:31Speaker 7: No, I mean, you know I'm a Steelers fan, right?
- 20:34Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 20:35Speaker 7: I mean, when a push comes to shove.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Right.
- 20:37Speaker 6: But if the Bears won a Super Bowl, you better
- 20:39Speaker 6: believe I'm going to the parade.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Okay. All right?
- 20:42Speaker 7: I'm putting on the fake mustache and the sweater.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Yes, good. All right. And you've earned it, yes, for
- 20:47Speaker 2: being such a big fan.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Yes, no problem.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Notre Dame, Miami, we asked Golik if we could attend
- 20:53Speaker 3: the game with him.
- 20:53Speaker 2: He said no. We asked. We asked Joe Theismann. He
- 20:57Speaker 2: said no.
- 20:58Speaker 3: I have reached out to Brady Quinn. He said he'd
- 21:00Speaker 3: get back to me, which is a no, flat no.
- 21:03Speaker 3: And I'm wondering, Jessica Smetana, as someone who graduated from
- 21:06Speaker 3: Notre Dame, if we head up for the Notre Dame-Miami game,
- 21:09Speaker 3: you got us?
- 21:10Speaker 2: Can we sit with you? What are we doing here?
- 21:12Speaker 7: Are you buying your own tickets?
- 21:15Speaker 2: Well, I mean.
- 21:16Speaker 7: Because I don't have.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Extra, and they're pretty expensive. Do you have access to extra?
- 21:23Speaker 7: No, I did in like June.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 21:27Speaker 3: I mean.
- 21:27Speaker 7: Next time give me a heads up, Stugatz.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Two weeks. This is a heads up for me. I mean.
- 21:32Speaker 2: All right, so we're not going.
- 21:35Speaker 7: You don't want to be near me during that game.
- 21:36Speaker 7: Trust me.
- 21:37Speaker 2: No, I do. I desperately want to be near you.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Who are you going with? Your family?
- 21:41Speaker 7: Lehman, my fiance.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Get rid of him and take me. I mean, come on. Okay.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Don't think about it. The weekend observations coming up next.

- 22:05Speaker 2: I mean, come on.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Everyone loves when the big man lets it fly. And
- 22:09Speaker 3: this NBA season, that feeling doesn't stop on the court.

- 23:22Speaker 2: Jess, nice enough to stick around for the weekend observations.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I don't know why we put you through this, but
- 23:27Speaker 3: we do. And I apologize in advance because these are lengthy.
- 23:33Speaker 2: I mean, pages. Always are.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I have a manifesto in my hand. Let's get to
- 23:37Speaker 3: the weekend observation. Smetana!
- 23:50Speaker 2: Nailed it.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:52Speaker 3: He was written off. He was doubted. He was discarded.
- 23:56Speaker 3: A top ten pick. A national champion. The future of
- 24:01Speaker 3: a franchise. Then came the injuries.
- 24:04Speaker 2: The criticism.
- 24:05Speaker 3: The benching. The trade. They called him a bust. Said
- 24:09Speaker 3: he couldn't play. Said he'd never be a franchise quarterback.
- 24:14Speaker 3: But New York took a chance. They saw what everyone
- 24:19Speaker 3: else had given up on. And maybe, just maybe, all
- 24:24Speaker 3: he needed was a fresh start. In a new city.
- 24:29Speaker 3: With a coach who believes in him. Because just like that, Jess,
- 24:34Speaker 3: make no mistake.
- 24:35Speaker 2: About it, J.J. McCarthy is back. That looked good. J.J.
- 24:46Speaker 3: McCarthy doesn't need a quarterback whisperer. He just needs a harba.
- 24:55Speaker 7: Sometimes it's all you need.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Put it on the poll. Did J.J. McCarthy just need
- 24:59Speaker 2: a Horbaugh? It's true. Jess, you're the New York Giants.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Jackson Dark comes back healthy. What do you do? Huh?
- 25:13Speaker 2: We don't need to discuss. Winning with Jameis Winston and J.J.
- 25:18Speaker 3: McCarthy, this is the best coaching job of John Horbaugh's career.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Are we done pretending the Texans' defense is good?
- 25:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Strange.
- 25:31Speaker 7: Not good.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Not good.
- 25:32Speaker 7: Disaster.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Went from great to not good. Chargers.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Last winless team in the NFL. Don't worry, Chargers fans.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Aaron Glenn is coming to town in a month.
- 25:45Speaker 2: If he's still there. Chargers might have the wrong Harbaugh.
- 25:48Speaker 2: If Aaron Glenn is still the Jets coach by then.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Might not be.
- 25:52Speaker 6: True.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Aaron Glenn.
- 25:55Speaker 7: 0-8.
- 25:56Speaker 3: 0-8 against AFC East teams.
- 26:02Speaker 2: You know what the other AFC East teams have, Jess?
- 26:06Speaker 7: His number.
- 26:07Speaker 2: They do.
- 26:07Speaker 5: 0-8.
- 26:12Speaker 2: He's tough to defend. It's not good.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Dolphins fans, just remember, as bad as it gets, you're
- 26:21Speaker 3: not the Jets.
- 26:23Speaker 2: I hate them.
- 26:25Speaker 3: The Dolphins hadn't led for a single second all season.
- 26:30Speaker 3: They never trailed against the Jets.
- 26:33Speaker 2: I hate them.
- 26:33Speaker 7: It's true.
- 26:34Speaker 2: It's true.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Aaron Glenn's key card to the facility.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Should it work today? I hate them. What do you mean?
- 26:44Speaker 2: Someone just deactivated it, Taylor?
- 26:45Speaker 7: Yes.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 2: That's how you kind of inform them.
- 26:48Speaker 3: It's a very passive-aggressive way of informing a guy he's
- 26:50Speaker 3: no longer the coach and not wanted.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I'm not sure he deserves anything better.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Garrett Wilson. I'm sorry. I skipped one here because I
- 27:00Speaker 2: have a manifesto in front of me. Jets fans.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Just when you think the next coach can't be any worse,
- 27:07Speaker 3: they are somehow.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Always worse. I hate them. Unless it's Tomlin. But why?
- 27:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Garrett Wilson. I won't blame you when you ask out.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I wish I could ask out.
- 27:25Speaker 2: I hate them. I could just leave if I wanted.
- 27:31Speaker 6: My dad decided, like, three years ago he was done
- 27:34Speaker 6: with the Bears, and now he's a 49ers fan.
- 27:36Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 27:36Speaker 6: And he has been sticking with that bit.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Like, he's really, like, he sends pictures of himself wearing, like,
- 27:45Speaker 6: the ugliest 49ers hat.
- 27:46Speaker 7: You've ever seen.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Right, but a bad time to jump off the Bears bus, right?
- 27:49Speaker 2: I mean.
- 27:49Speaker 7: Well, it just goes to show what an idiot.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:53Speaker 7: He was their bad luck charm all along.
- 27:54Speaker 2: He's going to jump back on, though, right, when it's convenient? Soon. Yeah. Yes.
- 27:58Speaker 2: But he won't admit it.
- 28:01Speaker 3: The Jets' season being over before Halloween, a tradition unlike
- 28:06Speaker 3: any other. The Jets have now been outscored 107-6 in
- 28:10Speaker 3: the last two minutes of the first half under Aaron Glenn.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I hate them.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Let that sink in. 107-6 in the last two minutes
- 28:20Speaker 3: of the first half. To be fair to Aaron.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Glenn, though, he's terrible outside of that time as well. Oh, no. Jesus.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Dan Campbell. Going for it on fourth down. Backed up.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Knowing the Packers kicker can't make chip shot field goals.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Chess. Not checkers.
- 28:47Speaker 3: New Orleans Saints. should leave Kellen Moore in France. Why
- 28:51Speaker 3: do you always leave a coach? The losing coach always
- 28:54Speaker 3: has to stay across the pond.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Why are you doing that? Saints are bad. I know
- 28:59Speaker 2: they are.
- 28:59Speaker 7: How do you say tarmac in French?
- 29:01Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 29:02Speaker 7: They should do that to him.
- 29:04Speaker 3: It's a fun word to say, tarmac.
- 29:09Speaker 2: It is. I don't know why. Macadam. Ah, the macadam.
- 29:13Speaker 7: I'm sure that's right.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Aaron Rodgers, still got it.
- 29:23Speaker 3: You can take the Steelers out of America, but you
- 29:26Speaker 3: can't take the ugly out of the Steelers.
- 29:31Speaker 6: Yeah, but you know what, I was really happy when
- 29:34Speaker 6: they drafted Darnell Washington and people made fun of me.
- 29:37Speaker 7: They said, okay, yeah, you're excited about a tight end.
- 29:40Speaker 7: who blocks. Guess what? Best player on the team.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Love that guy. Darnell Washington, man amongst boys. Love me
- 29:48Speaker 2: right there. Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens. It's a tale of
- 29:54Speaker 2: two halves. Really was. I don't know what Jamar Chase
- 29:58Speaker 2: said at halftime, but, man, it worked. Woof.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Going to bonus coverage. That's just a team kneeling the ball.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Feels like a waste of bonus coverage. The red zone
- 30:11Speaker 3: did that?
- 30:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it was Rams-Raiders. Jesus. It's a long
- 30:15Speaker 2: day for Scotty Hanson.
- 30:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I don't know why I called him Scotty.
- 30:19Speaker 7: Had to pee so bad.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Tom Brady. Complaining. Complaining. About roughing the passer penalties he
- 30:27Speaker 2: helped create. Hey, Tommy. Congratulations. The Stugatz is strong in you.
- 30:37Speaker 7: That's rich.
- 30:38Speaker 2: He's complaining after he plays. It's real rich.
- 30:41Speaker 3: A tip of the cap to one Larry Fitzgerald. Getting
- 30:45Speaker 3: his number retired in Arizona.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Larry Legend. On tight ends day. Fake holiday. Yeah, but
- 30:56Speaker 2: no one has a tighter end.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Put that on the poll. Are you sick of Nationals
- 31:02Speaker 1: tight ends day? Because, Jess, I'm right there with you.
- 31:04Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 31:04Speaker 3: I'm sick of it as well. Also, put this on
- 31:06Speaker 3: the poll. Does anyone have a tighter end than Larry Fitzgerald?
- 31:10Speaker 7: Oh, God.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I'm just telling you. He still laughs when I make
- 31:16Speaker 2: that joke. I see him and he laughs at me.
- 31:19Speaker 7: His son plays for the Irish.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I see people making faces on the Zoom. Mikey in particular.
- 31:23Speaker 2: He's got a good ass. What do you want from me? Anyway, so.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carolina Panthers was played at Bank of America.
- 31:35Speaker 3: But really, it was played behind the woodshed. What happened there? Jesus, Carolina,
- 31:40Speaker 3: our favorite team.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yeah. I know. Humble pie.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Every game Baker Mayfield plays... is a revenge game. Nobody
- 31:50Speaker 3: was more disappointed to not score on National Tight End
- 31:55Speaker 3: Day than George Kittle.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Ruined his year.
- 31:59Speaker 3: If you ask George Kittle if he could win a
- 32:01Speaker 3: Super Bowl or score a touchdown on National Tight End Day,
- 32:06Speaker 3: he'd choose score a touchdown on National Tight End Day
- 32:10Speaker 3: every time. I don't think that's the case. I know
- 32:13Speaker 3: he started tight end camp. I know him and Olsen
- 32:15Speaker 3: did that. I think he would take a Super Bowl.
- 32:17Speaker 1: No, yesterday he woke up like a kid on Christmas.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Los Angeles Rams. Get right game. Minnesota Vikings. A win
- 32:27Speaker 2: is a win.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Minnesota Vikings. Worst 6-0 team in NFL history. Barcelona.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Real Madrid. El Clasico. LAFC.
- 32:42Speaker 7: L.A.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Galaxy, El Trafico. Same with MetLife, just in general.
- 32:50Speaker 7: Seriously. Yep.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Bo Nix can scoot more like Bo Vicks.
- 32:59Speaker 7: 62 yards.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Kansas City Chiefs ran into a buzzsaw.
- 33:05Speaker 3: If you didn't watch that game and just listened to
- 33:08Speaker 3: Chris Collinsworth, you'd assume the Chiefs, One in a blowout.
- 33:17Speaker 2: He loves the Chiefs.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Seattle Seahawks do it against Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
- 33:23Speaker 3: Giannis single-handedly carrying the Heat to 20-point losses.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I am so happy that Heat fans are miserable.
- 33:35Speaker 3: It's pretty great.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Congratulations to Giannis.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Getting traded to a team somehow worse than the Milwaukee Bucks.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Wonderworld Giannis will request a trade to next. Saying Bam
- 33:51Speaker 3: Adebayo is the best player to ever play next to
- 33:55Speaker 3: Giannis is disrespectful to Chris Middleton, Drew Holiday.
- 34:01Speaker 2: And even Brooke Lopez. It is. I'm with you.
- 34:06Speaker 1: It's your observation.
- 34:07Speaker 2: It is my observation. I'm with myself. I agree with me.
- 34:13Speaker 1: I'm taking Brooke Lopez over Bam Adebayo 10 out of
- 34:15Speaker 1: 10 times.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Thank you, Taylor. I'm not saying Mike Brown should be
- 34:22Speaker 3: on the hot seat. I'm just saying if I was
- 34:25Speaker 3: Mike Brown, I wouldn't get too comfortable in that chair.
- 34:30Speaker 3: I mean, they're 0-3 after winning a title.
- 34:34Speaker 1: What have you done for me lately?
- 34:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Only four pages to go. Mikael Bridges.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Mikael Bridges is playing like somebody who didn't pick up
- 34:48Speaker 3: a basketball the entire offseason.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Picked up something. Bottles. Bottles of liquor.
- 35:00Speaker 3: If Bournemouth only played Manchester United, they'd win the Premier
- 35:05Speaker 3: League every year.
- 35:08Speaker 2: The Cherries.
- 35:11Speaker 7: What an observation.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Jim Favola's team. Yes. Jimmy Free. Michigan. Indiana. The rare
- 35:20Speaker 2: free football that nobody wants.
- 35:22Speaker 7: I've been doing it my whole weekend.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Not the drive to MetLife, that.
- 35:28Speaker 7: No. I would rather drive to MetLife every day than
- 35:31Speaker 7: watch that game again.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Michigan. Indiana.
- 35:36Speaker 3: The rare free football you'd have to pay me to watch. Michigan,
- 35:43Speaker 3: Andrew Marsh, Indiana, Nick Marsh. You, of course, know what
- 35:47Speaker 3: that means, right, Jess? A couple of Marshes cutting it up.
- 35:54Speaker 7: I don't know how I couldn't think of it.
- 35:56Speaker 2: It's right there for you.
- 35:57Speaker 7: I really blanked.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Marsh, Marsh.
- 36:00Speaker 6: I was like, tale of two Marshes, that's not right.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Tale of two Marshes.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Would have been funny, though. Michigan leads the country. In
- 36:11Speaker 3: games that come down to the final snap, they do. Indiana,
- 36:16Speaker 3: with their first win in Ann Arbor since 1967. You
- 36:20Speaker 3: know what that means, right, Jess?
- 36:22Speaker 7: They were due.
- 36:23Speaker 2: They were due.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Syracuse, throwing it to where there was no cameras to
- 36:28Speaker 3: overturn the call on the field.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Heady play. The orange. Seriously? How do they have no
- 36:35Speaker 2: camera coverage?
- 36:36Speaker 7: That was crazy.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Me and Jess have this relationship where we both try
- 36:41Speaker 1: to console each other when the other team's losing. Like,
- 36:43Speaker 1: if Notre Dame's losing, I know I'm not even going
- 36:45Speaker 1: to text Jess because I don't want to get in
- 36:48Speaker 1: her path. But then she texts me after that game
- 36:52Speaker 1: and is like, I think North Carolina got robbed in overtime.
- 36:54Speaker 2: And I'm like, Jess... Who cares?
- 36:56Speaker 1: Like, North Carolina, we're as dead a program could be
- 36:59Speaker 1: with Bill Belichick right now.
- 37:01Speaker 2: I mean, you lose the cues.
- 37:02Speaker 7: I care. Okay? I care about fairness.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:07Speaker 7: There was no good angle.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Right. You got robbed against BYU. You care about fairness. Yes.
- 37:13Speaker 2: You did.
- 37:13Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 37:14Speaker 7: Exactly. Thanks to God.
- 37:16Speaker 2: You're welcome. Hey, YouTube TV.
- 37:19Speaker 3: If I want the Skycast in my multi-view, I'll add
- 37:23Speaker 3: it in there myself.
- 37:25Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 37:26Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 37:28Speaker 7: Put this on social media.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Okay. How?
- 37:38Speaker 3: Dave Doran? Am I saying it right? I'm tired of
- 37:40Speaker 3: this guy. Fired at NC State. Dave, don't let the
- 37:44Speaker 3: Doran hit.
- 37:46Speaker 2: You on the way out.
- 37:48Speaker 7: Winning his coach in NC State history, Stu Gatz.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Really? Low bar.
- 37:52Speaker 6: He won like 90-something games.
- 37:55Speaker 7: I think.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Wow. Any of them meaningful?
- 37:59Speaker 1: The ones against Carolina. The only reason why he still
- 38:02Speaker 1: had this job.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Philip Rivers. NC State head coach. Collision course. Philip Rivers.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Already used to managing. 100 plus kids at home.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Funny. We're not seeing as many Dan Lanning pregame speeches anymore.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Wonder why. Yeah. I'd kill for that footage. People would
- 38:27Speaker 2: kill for that job. He's going to get fired.
- 38:31Speaker 7: Not looking good. I don't think we'll get fired, though.
- 38:33Speaker 2: He got rid of the OC, right? That's the first step.
- 38:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Blame everyone else. World Series. Not now. There's football on.
- 38:45Speaker 3: DJ Lagway is the Michael Jordan of getting coaches fired.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Despite Texas's best efforts, they won. Is it just me,
- 38:58Speaker 3: or does the Texas turf look like they're playing on asphalt?
- 39:02Speaker 7: It's terrible. It's just so unsaturated.
- 39:07Speaker 1: That's a TV thing, though, right? Like, if I went
- 39:09Speaker 1: to Texas, it looks green?
- 39:11Speaker 6: If you look at any pictures or any other angles
- 39:14Speaker 6: of people who are there, it's normal.
- 39:17Speaker 7: On ABC, it is gray. It looks like the Brooklyn
- 39:21Speaker 7: Nets court.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 39:24Speaker 7: They have a great court, right? I think so.
- 39:26Speaker 2: I think so. If you had a.
- 39:31Speaker 2: It's okay. Say it again so they can hear it.
- 39:33Speaker 7: I haven't watched a Nets game in years.
- 39:34Speaker 2: I'm just spitballing. You're not the only one.
- 39:41Speaker 3: If you had a looks the part draft, South Carolina
- 39:46Speaker 3: would go 1.1.
- 39:49Speaker 2: 1-1.
- 39:49Speaker 1: I don't know how you can never see that and
- 39:52Speaker 1: realize it's 1-1.
- 39:54Speaker 2: You said it in my headset right before I did it.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Why would it be 1.1? Why would you do that?
- 39:58Speaker 2: I don't know. 1 of 1.
- 40:00Speaker 1: It's like a very common draft thing.
- 40:02Speaker 3: 1-1.
- 40:02Speaker 2: 1-1.
- 40:03Speaker 3: How about just 1? What happens to just a singular 1?
- 40:07Speaker 3: They'd go 1.
- 40:07Speaker 2: 1-1. That's fair. 1.1. That's a more fair criticism. Leave
- 40:13Speaker 2: the point out next time. He spelled it out. 1.1. Sorry, Taylor.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Lenora Sellers. I was reading well, Taylor. Right up until. Oh, yes,
- 40:25Speaker 2: you were. You're having a good reading day.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Lenora Sellers. Legacy Drive. You know what the L in
- 40:33Speaker 3: Lenora stands for?
- 40:35Speaker 1: Legacy.
- 40:36Speaker 2: You nailed it. South Carolina. Upsetting Tennessee.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Cocktober. Joe Tessitore. Was born to call pick sixes. Taylor
- 40:47Speaker 3: put it on the poll. Was Joe Test born to
- 40:49Speaker 3: call pick sixes? College football, the rare witching hour. You
- 40:57Speaker 3: don't appreciate how much you need Scott Hanson until you
- 41:01Speaker 3: try to navigate the endings of BYU, UCF, Tennessee, South Carolina,
- 41:09Speaker 3: and Iowa, Minnesota on your own.
- 41:12Speaker 7: Why even bother with the last one?
- 41:15Speaker 5: Yes.
- 41:15Speaker 1: You didn't think the Michigan-Indiana game could get any worse?
- 41:19Speaker 2: In general. Well, guess what? We've got Iowa-Minnesota for you. BYU-UCF.
- 41:26Speaker 3: The rare BYU game where nobody's drinking, but everybody's playing drunk.
- 41:35Speaker 3: I'm still not sure what the hell happened at the
- 41:39Speaker 3: end of regulation in At BYU UCF.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Speaking of hell.
- 41:43Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Arp Riles. Jess, those are the weekend observations.
