- 0:47Speaker 1: Mum, you know.
- 0:49Speaker 4: He says, Well, we know.

- 0:54Speaker 4: What was Washington Street?
- 0:55Speaker 1: I think that's the name for you live in Sharon.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I don't even know.
- 0:59Speaker 6: It's rue Verden's Highway to something like that.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You're really going to confuse everything played, you know, in
- 1:05Speaker 1: the eye or whatever. And as a traditional running back,
- 1:08Speaker 1: but they're almost like different positions than Corey Dillon.
- 1:12Speaker 6: Oh yeah, that's why. That's why they call him, that's
- 1:15Speaker 6: why we're doing it's this way, don't That's why we
- 1:20Speaker 6: called him third.
- 1:21Speaker 1: That's the whole problem.
- 1:23Speaker 4: But this is from Evan directly. I'm picking the Niners
- 1:26Speaker 4: bt dub.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I don't even know what that means.
- 1:29Speaker 6: Kyle Kyle shanantra offense by the way, Oh Jesus, it's
- 1:35Speaker 6: just the man.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I don't know if it was like.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Buffalo wow, I was speaking slang, you know.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And he's Patrick Mahomes. We know that the Chiefs have
- 1:43Speaker 1: also had trouble.
- 1:44Speaker 6: But he's only two against Brady.
- 1:45Speaker 1: We know that.
- 1:46Speaker 4: What does that have to do with anything?
- 1:47Speaker 6: We know he's winner, but how do you call him?
- 1:49Speaker 6: Winter Fred is Patriots Unfiltered presented by Toyota's official website.

- 2:50Speaker 1: we'll talk about halftime, uh, and whatever else is on
- 2:54Speaker 1: your mind today. Eight five five PATS five hundred is
- 2:57Speaker 1: the as taken Hotline. But before I forget, I want
- 3:00Speaker 1: to let people know that this Friday, Apple TV plus
- 3:06Speaker 1: is is dropping Patriots Dynasty the Dynasty and yes, so
- 3:16Speaker 1: they're going to drop the first two episodes, but even
- 3:20Speaker 1: more importantly, we have decided we're going to drop a
- 3:24Speaker 1: wrap up show, a recap. I think we're calling it,
- 3:27Speaker 1: uh Patriots Dynasty doc recap. Okay, so search for that
- 3:34Speaker 1: wherever you get your podcast on Friday, but wait until
- 3:38Speaker 1: after you've watched the documentary, yeah, because you don't want
- 3:43Speaker 1: to get spoiled. And we will have a wrap up
- 3:45Speaker 1: show talking about what we watched. And so we're very
- 3:49Speaker 1: excited about that and every Friday for the next five weeks.
- 3:53Speaker 1: We're going to be doing that because Apple is going
- 3:55Speaker 1: to be dropping two episodes at a time, and we
- 3:58Speaker 1: will wrap up those that episodes and have a new
- 4:02Speaker 1: wrap up show every Friday until the end the conclusion
- 4:06Speaker 1: of the documentary. So we're very excited. We did get
- 4:10Speaker 1: a sneak peek, and I'm telling you you're gonna like it.
- 4:15Speaker 1: It's gonna be uh Patriots porn. And I think even
- 4:20Speaker 1: people who aren't Patriots fans all over the world really
- 4:24Speaker 1: uh will find it interesting. So I can't wait. I
- 4:29Speaker 1: can't wait to talk about it and share our our
- 4:32Speaker 1: thoughts with you know everyone. You know, Paul and I
- 4:36Speaker 1: we lived through this, so I mean we were there
- 4:38Speaker 1: for the beginning, you know, at least for these first
- 4:40Speaker 1: two episodes.
- 4:41Speaker 7: Uh.
- 4:42Speaker 5: You know that's my favorite part of Washington's just when
- 4:44Speaker 5: Paul would point out, there's my.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Head's right, right, I pointed out every time.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I So this Friday, big day, big day for Patriots fans.
- 4:55Speaker 1: First two, right, the first two yep. So but let's
- 4:59Speaker 1: get let's get into it. Obviously, we want to talk
- 5:01Speaker 1: about the super Bowl. This is the first chance we've
- 5:03Speaker 1: had together to talk about it. My team didn't win,
- 5:09Speaker 1: you know, and you know all those people said, how
- 5:12Speaker 1: can you bet against Patrick Mahomes? Boy, were they right?
- 5:15Speaker 1: How can you bet against Patrick Mahomes'.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Sorry, I felt the whole game.
- 5:18Speaker 5: It was just like, you guys better start scoring some
- 5:20Speaker 5: touchdowns because like, if this game stays like this, it's
- 5:23Speaker 5: just a matter of time before he kicks into gear
- 5:25Speaker 5: and engineers a couple drives and that's exactly what he did.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Like I was just you know, it's almost like just
- 5:30Speaker 5: felt inevitable, inevitable to me at a certain point in
- 5:33Speaker 5: the third quarter, I think where it's just like, man,
- 5:36Speaker 5: San Francisco just can't do enough offensively, and they're not
- 5:38Speaker 5: putting up enough points.
- 5:39Speaker 4: They can't get away from them, and well I.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Just got, you know, once they muffed that punt, I
- 5:45Speaker 1: was like, this is the Patriots, the chiefs of the Patriots.
- 5:48Speaker 1: They're doing exactly what the Patriots did when they were winning.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Take advantage of every idiot play pooping the pants by
- 5:56Speaker 1: the other team down the stretch in the big game.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And that's what it was. And they've got Tom Brady,
- 6:02Speaker 1: which is now called Patrick Mahomes.
- 6:05Speaker 4: It is now referred to yeah, just so much.
- 6:08Speaker 5: So like I mean, not to stop start off on
- 6:10Speaker 5: something completely meaningless, but like Drake greenlawch like tearing his.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Achilles, like I felt so bad, like and especially I
- 6:16Speaker 6: don't think I've ever seen anything like big.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Plays too would start the game and you just like
- 6:20Speaker 5: you almost felt like he was the one bringing the
- 6:22Speaker 5: energy and then you just kind of a little random
- 6:24Speaker 5: skip going into the game and he just blew, you know,
- 6:27Speaker 5: And it's never good when they come back and they
- 6:29Speaker 5: show you like some footage that you know, while we
- 6:31Speaker 5: were away and they show him like pop. You know,
- 6:34Speaker 5: you almost could see it with like Aaron Rodgers when
- 6:36Speaker 5: he popped his achilles. You could just see that right there.
- 6:39Speaker 5: But yeah, that was that was just one moment that
- 6:42Speaker 5: I'm like, man, it's it's it's a tough fight right now.
- 6:43Speaker 4: For for for the forty nine ers.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Well, I mean he got her, Deebo Samy. It wasn't
- 6:46Speaker 1: one hundred percent. Kittle was in and out, you know,
- 6:49Speaker 1: so not injuries had nothing to do with it. Bad
- 6:53Speaker 1: calls had nothing to do with it, but.
- 6:55Speaker 6: No chiefs overcame the ball.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Patrick Mahomes had everything to do with it.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I mean it's uh, I mean, you know,
- 7:03Speaker 5: you know what I hate though, It's just like the
- 7:05Speaker 5: thing that pisses me off is like, so now we
- 7:07Speaker 5: just go right into comparison mode. Well and it's like,
- 7:10Speaker 5: you know, and I just want to say one my
- 7:12Speaker 5: Theodore Roosevelt comparison.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Comparison is comparison is the thief of joy.
- 7:18Speaker 5: That's good because you know, it's like it doesn't even
- 7:20Speaker 5: appreciate Patrick Mahomes just like, all right, well that's what
- 7:22Speaker 5: he did.
- 7:22Speaker 4: How does he compare to Tom Breaking?
- 7:23Speaker 5: Now, like, well, you just like give the guy a day,
- 7:26Speaker 5: let him but without having to stack him against everything
- 7:29Speaker 5: in the universe that's ever happened.
- 7:30Speaker 1: He's coming at defending Patrick Mahomes.
- 7:33Speaker 6: I'm busting I'm busting your balls, but I agree with you.
- 7:35Speaker 6: I just don't understand why everything has to be a
- 7:37Speaker 6: referendum on forever.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Right, That's what that's not.
- 7:39Speaker 6: Everything today in sports is a referendum on what will
- 7:42Speaker 6: be for all time? I know, but why does it
- 7:45Speaker 6: have to be like that? Immediately it was I'm not
- 7:47Speaker 6: saying Mahomes doesn't deserve it, but believe me, I'm saying
- 7:50Speaker 6: the opposite. I actually just wrote the opposite.
- 7:52Speaker 1: No, I mean, listen, I made I'm completely open. I
- 7:56Speaker 1: was rooting from the forty nine ers just so that
- 7:58Speaker 1: the Kansas City chief didn't get to this point. But
- 8:02Speaker 1: it was at this point for the Patriots where we
- 8:04Speaker 1: were talking dynasty, where were comparing Brady to Montana. So
- 8:08Speaker 1: it's only fair that they do that as well with
- 8:11Speaker 1: the chiefs and mahomes.
- 8:12Speaker 8: I don't know if we were comparing Brady to Montana
- 8:14Speaker 8: after three.
- 8:15Speaker 6: Oh, I can give you a clip in the absolute and.
- 8:20Speaker 1: That was the only defense of Montana is that he
- 8:22Speaker 1: had never lost in a super Bowl.
- 8:24Speaker 6: And after three, like I remember, when he won his
- 8:27Speaker 6: third day, he was called the greatest of all time,
- 8:30Speaker 6: right by somebody on the documentary who I'm I don't remember.
- 8:36Speaker 8: I don't remember people the general masses putting Brady above
- 8:41Speaker 8: Montana until they beat the Seahawks.
- 8:44Speaker 1: No, that's not well made. Until they got I'm not
- 8:46Speaker 1: saying you don't remember, and he was, but they were
- 8:50Speaker 1: saying that, they were saying it.
- 8:52Speaker 6: I just we were among those that certainly.
- 8:54Speaker 1: In seven, certainly by seven they were saying that was it.
- 8:58Speaker 6: He was the greatest when he because I I think
- 9:00Speaker 6: the seventh season was the one that sort of showed Okay,
- 9:04Speaker 6: like the first three, you can make an argument that
- 9:06Speaker 6: was defense and running game, but then when he showed you, oh,
- 9:10Speaker 6: I can play that way and win. But I can
- 9:12Speaker 6: also set all your passing records too, if you want
- 9:15Speaker 6: to win that way. And I think any and I
- 9:17Speaker 6: agree with you, Fred, it wasn't that long. It didn't
- 9:20Speaker 6: take that long for most people to say this guy
- 9:22Speaker 6: is among the greats. That was it for even though
- 9:26Speaker 6: the last naysayers, you know, the game manager stuff kind
- 9:30Speaker 6: of went away. You know, there's always trolls like that
- 9:33Speaker 6: Nick Wright guy. I think that Nick Wright guy still
- 9:36Speaker 6: says that, but most people said he's a little better
- 9:40Speaker 6: than we gave him credit for. Yeah.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Absolutely, So I have no problem with all the comparisons
- 9:47Speaker 1: and calling them a dynasty, because we certainly called them
- 9:50Speaker 1: anasty and.
- 9:52Speaker 6: I don't have a problem. I don't think Mike is
- 9:53Speaker 6: saying has a problem with the Chiefs being called a dynasty.
- 9:56Speaker 4: But why do we have to just think, right, where
- 9:59Speaker 4: does it stack up a against Brady? Now?
- 10:01Speaker 5: And it's like, well, I mean, I mean this is
- 10:03Speaker 5: a compliment to Patrick Mahomes, like he's doing it his
- 10:05Speaker 5: own way Brady did his own way. That was special
- 10:07Speaker 5: and it was great and amazing. And you know, now
- 10:09Speaker 5: Patrick Mahomes is doing it's just the instant rush to like,
- 10:11Speaker 5: okay one now that well, they were ready for it,
- 10:16Speaker 5: like yeah, you know, I mean, and you want to
- 10:18Speaker 5: make the comparisons, go for it.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I don't care. I mean, it doesn't you know, it doesn't.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Mean it's ire with Evan, it's clearly. I mean, you
- 10:23Speaker 6: win three in that short of a period of time,
- 10:25Speaker 6: that's a yeah. It's like the Patriots Gil Santon.
- 10:28Speaker 1: And as long as Mahomes is playing well and is healthy,
- 10:31Speaker 1: they're gonna keep winning.
- 10:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I'm not saying they're gonna keep winning super Bowls, but
- 10:34Speaker 1: they're gonna be in the hunt every year.
- 10:37Speaker 5: And I said to Evan upstairs, I was like, it's
- 10:39Speaker 5: almost a good time to stink, because like, how do
- 10:41Speaker 5: how would you feel if you had a quarterback like
- 10:43Speaker 5: Josh Allen right now where you're like, man, we got
- 10:45Speaker 5: a guy like we gotta win a super Bowl. And
- 10:46Speaker 5: it's like Mahomes just keeps slapping you back, slapping you back,
- 10:49Speaker 5: and it's like.
- 10:49Speaker 6: It's we're guys gonna run the clock on Patrick mahomes here.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Well, we'll draft a quarterback in ten years and then
- 10:54Speaker 4: we'll try to make our move.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:56Speaker 6: So what did you guys think of the game itself?
- 10:58Speaker 6: I mean, I'm gonna get I'm gonna let that open
- 11:00Speaker 6: a vein later on Shanahan. But like the game itself, well,
- 11:05Speaker 6: it started kind of blair, yeah, but then it's it
- 11:09Speaker 6: was the Brady thing. Yeah, Like you get to the
- 11:11Speaker 6: second half of these games and the defenses are out
- 11:13Speaker 6: of tricks. They can't stop anybody, right, And it started
- 11:16Speaker 6: a little slow in the second half, but by the
- 11:18Speaker 6: time the fourth quarter rolled around, that was it.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yep.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I just was surprised that, you know, I mean,
- 11:23Speaker 5: Deebo was, like you said, was hurt that they just
- 11:26Speaker 5: really had nothing to go to, Like, you got all
- 11:27Speaker 5: these weapons you've been talking about. You kint a couple catches,
- 11:29Speaker 5: but you know, it just felt like, my god, it
- 11:32Speaker 5: all feels all on brock Purdy right now, and he's
- 11:34Speaker 5: got McCaffrey and either he's finding and having a big
- 11:38Speaker 5: you know, one or two big runs. But it was
- 11:40Speaker 5: a grind for him too. And you know, as soon
- 11:41Speaker 5: as it just seemed like Deebo's not really doing much damage.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Kid can't really go to Kittle. You know, it's like,
- 11:46Speaker 5: all right, well it's all on Evan's guy Purdy, and
- 11:49Speaker 5: I don't.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Think he's gonna be able to pull this out.
- 11:51Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I think Perdy had a good game. He just doesn't
- 11:54Speaker 1: have that extra thing when the pressure is happening to
- 11:58Speaker 1: make that decision under pressure.
- 12:01Speaker 6: Like that was the difference in the halves. Yeah, the Chiefs.
- 12:04Speaker 6: You know, I've been telling you all, I think the
- 12:06Speaker 6: Niners line stinks. They could not stop them. They just
- 12:10Speaker 6: completely attacked Party in the second half, and you know,
- 12:14Speaker 6: for the most part they kept moving the ball, but
- 12:16Speaker 6: then when they got down there, they came up with
- 12:19Speaker 6: a big play right down to the last one in overtime.
- 12:21Speaker 6: You know, they had three guys wide open on that play.
- 12:24Speaker 6: The guy he threw to was open, and plus he
- 12:27Speaker 6: had two other guys that were open in the middle
- 12:29Speaker 6: of the end zone. I think Ayuk was one of them.
- 12:32Speaker 6: Was wide. Like, no one the guy fell down that
- 12:34Speaker 6: was covering a Yuk, but no one blocked Chris Jones.
- 12:37Speaker 6: How do you not block Chris Jones.
- 12:38Speaker 4: It's kind of important.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Now a lot of people want Kyle Shanahan's head.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I mean, we don't.
- 12:45Speaker 6: Want his head, but I like to make fun of them,
- 12:47Speaker 6: especially because Evan.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I know a lot of forty nine ers, you know,
- 12:49Speaker 1: they're down on Kyle Shanahan. I don't know. I mean
- 12:54Speaker 1: I know that he's been involved in three Super Bowls
- 12:57Speaker 1: with double digit leads that were given up. But I
- 13:01Speaker 1: mean he gets you there. So that's more than a
- 13:05Speaker 1: lot of coaches can say in this league. I don't know,
- 13:09Speaker 1: And that.
- 13:09Speaker 6: They gets silly to think about moving on from him. Yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 6: I'll say that. That's another mic ism. Like right after
- 13:15Speaker 6: the game, it's like, is it time? I mean should
- 13:16Speaker 6: they should the Niners look to move on from him?
- 13:19Speaker 6: Like what are we doing?
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 13:22Speaker 8: He literally took what many people think is the greatest
- 13:25Speaker 8: quarterback of all time to overtime with Brock Party as
- 13:29Speaker 8: his quarterback, and we want to get rid of the guy,
- 13:31Speaker 8: Like I just I think what you saw in that game.
- 13:34Speaker 8: Spagnola was awesome and the Chiefs defense was great, but
- 13:37Speaker 8: they played cover one man to man or cover zero
- 13:41Speaker 8: for like the entire game and just dared Rock Party
- 13:44Speaker 8: to beat them down the field, just just dared him,
- 13:46Speaker 8: and he whether the pressure whatever, you want to chalk
- 13:50Speaker 8: that up to they couldn't do it. They didn't make
- 13:53Speaker 8: the plays down the field that they needed to make.
- 13:55Speaker 8: He missed a couple throws. There was definitely pressure in
- 13:58Speaker 8: his face other times. But I I think when you
- 14:00Speaker 8: look at these Niners, and I watch a lot of
- 14:02Speaker 8: Niners games because I do love Kyle and I watch
- 14:05Speaker 8: a lot of their games, and it feels like they
- 14:08Speaker 8: are swimming upstream the entire game because they have to
- 14:12Speaker 8: Everything around the quarterback needs to be perfect for them
- 14:15Speaker 8: to put up points.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I know a lot of people criticize Shanahan,
- 14:19Speaker 1: Oh they should have run more in the third quarter.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I find my I found myself saying, open it up,
- 14:24Speaker 1: go like, not just these short passes, Oh, go downfield.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And maybe they just couldn't do that.
- 14:29Speaker 6: Well. I thought Trent McDuffie was really good in that game.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Yeah, they did play, you know, and I.
- 14:33Speaker 6: Thought they made some really good plays in one on
- 14:35Speaker 6: one situations downfield.
- 14:36Speaker 9: Ye.
- 14:37Speaker 6: I do think that they got away from the run
- 14:39Speaker 6: a little bit in the third quarter. They had three
- 14:42Speaker 6: three and outs to start the second half. Eight passes
- 14:46Speaker 6: And I'm not saying that there was because of Purdy
- 14:49Speaker 6: that they didn't move the ball, but McCaffrey is your
- 14:51Speaker 6: best player. Yeah, and they got away from him a
- 14:54Speaker 6: little bit there. Now, people like they didn't run the
- 14:56Speaker 6: ball in the second half. They ran the ball plenty
- 14:57Speaker 6: in the second half. I mean he had like thirteen
- 15:00Speaker 6: in the second half. That's a lot. You know that.
- 15:03Speaker 6: You know, if you have twenty six carries in the game,
- 15:05Speaker 6: that's a lot of carries for a running back. He
- 15:08Speaker 6: was the focal point of the offense. I thought, what
- 15:10Speaker 6: I would push back a little with Evan is I
- 15:13Speaker 6: thought there was For the most part, I thought Shanahan
- 15:15Speaker 6: was fine, his normal he was regular. But I thought
- 15:18Speaker 6: in individual plays at key moments, I don't think he
- 15:22Speaker 6: did some of the right things. I think he got
- 15:23Speaker 6: away with one of them. Going for a fourth down
- 15:26Speaker 6: there instead of tying the game, I thought was insane.
- 15:29Speaker 6: It worked by half a yard, but they get down
- 15:34Speaker 6: and field goal range. It's like third and two, Like,
- 15:37Speaker 6: did they did they run McCaffrey in any of those
- 15:40Speaker 6: third and shorts? I don't remember, like, and it was
- 15:44Speaker 6: clear Kansas City was just gonna say we're coming after Purty,
- 15:47Speaker 6: like like Evan said, We're gonna expose ourselves. We're gonna
- 15:50Speaker 6: have some cover zeros here because we're just gonna go
- 15:52Speaker 6: after party and we're gonna hope that we get the
- 15:54Speaker 6: ball out of his hands quick enough that he can't right,
- 15:57Speaker 6: you know, because that even like that last play, like
- 15:59Speaker 6: I don't put that on party. Like maybe Brady makes
- 16:02Speaker 6: that play, maybe Mahomes makes that play, but most guys aren't. Yeah,
- 16:07Speaker 6: and just hand the ball off once. And then if
- 16:11Speaker 6: you're going to go for fourth and three in the
- 16:13Speaker 6: fourth quarter when you're down three or whatever they were
- 16:16Speaker 6: at the time. I think they were down three, right,
- 16:18Speaker 6: thirteen ten, why wouldn't you go for the fourth and goal?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:22Speaker 6: I haf fourth Was it fourth and three from the
- 16:24Speaker 6: nine or something like that? Yeah? That second guess why
- 16:26Speaker 6: wouldn't you go for that one?
- 16:27Speaker 8: The most fair because you kick the field goal, you know,
- 16:30Speaker 8: Mahomes scoring a touchdown, and we.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Don't even started about the decisions to on the coin toss.
- 16:37Speaker 6: I am not convinced he knew the rule. I am
- 16:39Speaker 6: not think that he knew what the rules. I mean,
- 16:41Speaker 6: their defense had just been on the field and you
- 16:44Speaker 6: have twenty minutes in between, and they were time and
- 16:46Speaker 6: by the time they got back from all the commercials.
- 16:48Speaker 6: The third possess.
- 16:50Speaker 1: The only way you take it well is if you
- 16:52Speaker 1: know you're going to score a touchdown? How do you
- 16:54Speaker 1: How can you know that?
- 16:55Speaker 6: Well?
- 16:55Speaker 8: They were playing for the third possession, right, He's saying,
- 16:59Speaker 8: we take it first, we score, they're gonna score, and
- 17:01Speaker 8: we have a chance to win it on the third possession.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but but you have to know you're gonna score
- 17:06Speaker 1: in order to do that.
- 17:07Speaker 6: No, I don't mind that that that thinking you're gonna score,
- 17:09Speaker 6: But like you're playing for a third possession that might
- 17:12Speaker 6: not exist. There are two possessions exist.
- 17:15Speaker 1: That's what I say. If you don't score on your
- 17:17Speaker 1: first possession, all they have to do is kick a
- 17:20Speaker 1: field goal.
- 17:20Speaker 6: Right, But they but they might not score either. You're
- 17:23Speaker 6: playing for a third. There are two possessions that absolutely
- 17:26Speaker 6: have to happen. I want the second one, so I
- 17:29Speaker 6: know what I need to do right right, I want
- 17:31Speaker 6: to have four downs.
- 17:32Speaker 1: That's the thing.
- 17:33Speaker 6: Like, let's just flip it. If Kansas City got the
- 17:35Speaker 6: ball first and they get stuffed in that third and
- 17:38Speaker 6: one before they even got a first down, are they
- 17:41Speaker 6: going for third, fourth and one from inside their own
- 17:44Speaker 6: thirty five.
- 17:45Speaker 4: No, it makes it easy. You know what you gotta do.
- 17:46Speaker 6: Right. Are they going for that? I mean they might have,
- 17:48Speaker 6: but I don't think.
- 17:49Speaker 8: The essentially four downs. They gave them four downs, right, Yeah,
- 17:54Speaker 8: I agree with that. I mean there's logic to both sides,
- 17:57Speaker 8: though there really is, Like, there's logic.
- 17:59Speaker 6: I don't think there's a lot of logic.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Going to score. If you know you're going to score
- 18:04Speaker 1: on your first possession, there's logic to it.
- 18:06Speaker 6: Why because the other team now controls it. If they scored,
- 18:11Speaker 6: they have the ability to win the game.
- 18:12Speaker 1: No, I'm talking about a touchdown if you score, right.
- 18:14Speaker 6: Right, that's what. Did you hear what Andy Reid said?
- 18:16Speaker 1: Did you hear what they were going to go for two?
- 18:18Speaker 6: They had the whole thing. If we win the toss,
- 18:21Speaker 6: we're going to defer and even if they give up
- 18:24Speaker 6: a touchdown, yea, if we can match it, here's our
- 18:27Speaker 6: two point play. This is what we're doing. Right.
- 18:30Speaker 1: So you think they would have done that in.
- 18:32Speaker 6: The moment, yes, and you do not. You do not
- 18:34Speaker 6: have control. Was my point. I want to be the
- 18:36Speaker 6: second team because I'm in control.
- 18:38Speaker 8: I think there are two point players. The one that
- 18:39Speaker 8: they want to win the game.
- 18:41Speaker 6: It might be, but it's the same one that they
- 18:42Speaker 6: used twice last year against the Eagles, So who's gonnay
- 18:44Speaker 6: they wouldn't have used it again.
- 18:45Speaker 8: Yeah, I think that that might have been their two
- 18:47Speaker 8: point play and they say, well, we don't need the
- 18:49Speaker 8: two points now, Well, doesn't agree with you?
- 18:51Speaker 6: Yeah? I do.
- 18:52Speaker 8: I just I think with Purdy, And I know that
- 18:55Speaker 8: people think that I hate him because I do. No,
- 18:57Speaker 8: I'm just kidding. He played okay, like he didn't. Fine,
- 19:00Speaker 8: But you know, Brady, Tom Brady was on with Steve
- 19:03Speaker 8: Young last week and there's a clip that.
- 19:05Speaker 6: Made the rounds and.
- 19:09Speaker 8: And he's saying that clip, how many times he sees
- 19:12Speaker 8: quarterbacks snap the ball when they're running a play that
- 19:16Speaker 8: they know isn't going to work. And that is what
- 19:19Speaker 8: drives me nuts about Party is that he comes to
- 19:21Speaker 8: the line of scrimmage and they're they're popping the center
- 19:25Speaker 8: on the third down play in overtime with a one
- 19:29Speaker 8: technique over the center, Like where do you where do
- 19:32Speaker 8: you think he's gonna go? So like they don't have
- 19:34Speaker 8: the blockers in the middle right to pick up everybody,
- 19:38Speaker 8: and he just gets the line of scrimmage and just
- 19:40Speaker 8: snaps the ball and it's like, yeah, he's a second
- 19:43Speaker 8: year quarterback. Maybe he improves on those things. But when
- 19:46Speaker 8: you get into these games against Patrick Mahomes and the
- 19:49Speaker 8: Super Bowl and all this, all the stakes are you
- 19:52Speaker 8: know out there, these are the little margins that you
- 19:55Speaker 8: just can't win with. Like it's these little things that
- 19:58Speaker 8: add up. You know, Trent McDuffie comes through on a
- 20:01Speaker 8: third down completely unblocked. When they had the numbers, they
- 20:04Speaker 8: just didn't have it pointed in the right direction. And
- 20:07Speaker 8: in five years maybe he starts to make those checks
- 20:10Speaker 8: the line of scrimmage. But they're in a win now
- 20:12Speaker 8: mode now, like this is there. They're in a window now. Yeah,
- 20:16Speaker 8: And if they don't maximize the roster or that they
- 20:19Speaker 8: have around him right this minute, you know, Brandon Nyuka
- 20:22Speaker 8: is gonna be gone. It sounds like Deebo Samuel who knows,
- 20:27Speaker 8: you know, like Nick Bosa, like all these guys that
- 20:29Speaker 8: are at the peak of their powers right now, it's
- 20:32Speaker 8: all gonna flame out and these quarterbacks like that's the difference,
- 20:35Speaker 8: Matt Patrick Mahomes is a great equalizer. You can have
- 20:38Speaker 8: flaws other places in your roster. You can make mistakes
- 20:41Speaker 8: in the course of a game, the Niners have to
- 20:43Speaker 8: play one way, They have to have the script go
- 20:45Speaker 8: exactly as planned, and the second that they start to
- 20:47Speaker 8: have mistakes, they are too far behind.
- 20:50Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah. The reason I didn't like it, Fred is
- 20:52Speaker 6: it just to me it reeked of Ted Williams, like
- 20:57Speaker 6: you can't hit that right? Like, yeah, Tom, I don't
- 21:01Speaker 6: know if anybody ever told you, but you're the greatest
- 21:03Speaker 6: quarterback who's ever played, and the reason for that largely
- 21:07Speaker 6: is your mind. But so to just suggest that anybody
- 21:11Speaker 6: who runs around to make a play that means he
- 21:13Speaker 6: failed on the play because he didn't know, Like, yeah, Tom, Yeah,
- 21:17Speaker 6: what Evan just said is a thousand percent right. There
- 21:19Speaker 6: were probably times in the game that Brock Purdy didn't
- 21:22Speaker 6: recognize what you recognized in your sleep because he hat you.
- 21:27Speaker 6: But I neither was anybody else.
- 21:29Speaker 8: But he's not physically The problem with Purdy is that
- 21:32Speaker 8: like a guy like Mahomes can run around and make
- 21:34Speaker 8: the play.
- 21:35Speaker 6: Right what Tom says, that means he stinks well mistake part.
- 21:39Speaker 8: But with guys like Purdy, they're not good enough to
- 21:41Speaker 8: do that. So if you're not if you're not dominating
- 21:44Speaker 8: pre snap and you're not physically That's.
- 21:47Speaker 6: What made him so great, right, he dominated pre snap.
- 21:51Speaker 6: Like I just think and I understand that Tom's not
- 21:54Speaker 6: going to say, like when I was the greatest, but
- 21:57Speaker 6: he's overlooking how hard that is. No, but I think
- 21:59Speaker 6: he down playing it because it was easy for him.
- 22:02Speaker 1: But I don't want to give anyway any spoilers, but like,
- 22:05Speaker 1: if you watch the documentary, you understand what Brady put
- 22:11Speaker 1: into getting to that point. Like I'm sure he's just
- 22:16Speaker 1: has a natural mental ability, but he worked hard at that.
- 22:20Speaker 1: He worked hard at understanding defenses, and you know, put
- 22:24Speaker 1: the hours in.
- 22:26Speaker 6: So what I'm telling you is you could take one
- 22:28Speaker 6: hundred quarterbacks to put the same amount of violence, and
- 22:32Speaker 6: you might get ten of them to understand it the
- 22:34Speaker 6: way I didn't.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I found the clip, you know, we're talking about the
- 22:38Speaker 1: Steve Young and Brady clip. I found it great because
- 22:41Speaker 1: that is Tom Brady. He's saying, you know, this is
- 22:44Speaker 1: what I would see in front of you know, before
- 22:47Speaker 1: a play, and even you know.
- 22:50Speaker 6: Oh, I'm not doubting that for a second. That's absolutely
- 22:52Speaker 6: what Brady would see.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I saw it a million and I think if I'm
- 22:55Speaker 1: a quarterback, I'm aspiring to be like.
- 22:57Speaker 6: I remember the clip of against the Ravens when Ed
- 23:00Speaker 6: Reid was Trent McDuffie in the play that that Evan's
- 23:04Speaker 6: talking about, and here he comes, and we don't have it.
- 23:06Speaker 6: We can't block this, we can't block it. We can't
- 23:10Speaker 6: I can't slide the product. He's unblocked. I'm just gonna
- 23:14Speaker 6: throw it over his head. I know where he's coming from.
- 23:17Speaker 6: I'm gonna wait for the right time and I'm gonna
- 23:19Speaker 6: throw it over his head for an easy touchdown. Yeahs
- 23:22Speaker 6: against one of the greatest defenses of this era.
- 23:24Speaker 8: When you spin it forward to to the you know,
- 23:27Speaker 8: looking at the Patriots and looking at quarterback play in
- 23:29Speaker 8: the league. My takeaway from that clip, I I understand
- 23:33Speaker 8: where Paul's coming from. That it was a little like,
- 23:35Speaker 8: you know, I.
- 23:35Speaker 6: Could do it. It's so easy, but you have to have
- 23:38Speaker 6: one or the other.
- 23:39Speaker 8: Like you either have to be able to dominate in
- 23:42Speaker 8: that respect of the game, or you need to be
- 23:44Speaker 8: Patrick Mahomes and you need to be able to physically dominate.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Or he probably does it both ways.
- 23:49Speaker 6: And we'll see if Pardy developed, because Party will not
- 23:51Speaker 6: be able to do it the way the Runners do,
- 23:54Speaker 6: but we'll see. I mean, really his first full year.
- 23:57Speaker 8: And and but I'm just saying in general, if you're
- 23:59Speaker 8: looking at quarterbacks in the draft, if you're looking at
- 24:02Speaker 8: quarterbacks as a general statement, like that's the league now.
- 24:06Speaker 8: The league is either filled with guys that dominate after
- 24:10Speaker 8: the snap mostly like that. It's Patrick Mahomes, It's Josh Allen.
- 24:14Speaker 6: Those are that.
- 24:15Speaker 8: Those are the guys that are winning, like, those are
- 24:17Speaker 8: the guys that are are doing it at a high level.
- 24:19Speaker 8: And these other guys that do need to be perfect
- 24:22Speaker 8: on the margins, they're coming up short. Like it's the
- 24:25Speaker 8: Jared Goffs, it's the Brock Purties like those, those guys
- 24:28Speaker 8: just don't have it enough of that ability that Brady did,
- 24:31Speaker 8: because nobody will. And I think you know it was Brady,
- 24:34Speaker 8: it was Peyton. You know, maybe Drew Brees had a
- 24:36Speaker 8: little bit of that in him, and everybody else is
- 24:38Speaker 8: just you know, trying to just survive post snap of
- 24:42Speaker 8: Trent McDuffie's coming through unblocked and I'm just gonna have
- 24:44Speaker 8: to get rid of the ball and make something happen.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah, well I thought it was a great game.
- 24:49Speaker 6: Yeah me too.
- 24:49Speaker 1: You know, I thoroughly enjoyed. It was funny because Sean McManus,
- 24:54Speaker 1: who heads up CBS, predicted, you know, in jest, it's
- 24:57Speaker 1: gonna be double overtime, and then I'm thinking, oh my god,
- 25:01Speaker 1: we're getting close to that.
- 25:02Speaker 6: So that would have been the second quarter, that would
- 25:06Speaker 6: have been double overtime, right, So I forgive me, Chiefs
- 25:10Speaker 6: would have kept the ball.
- 25:11Speaker 1: It doesn't Youah, no, it's just a continuation.
- 25:13Speaker 6: But did the clock start at ten minutes fifteen? I don't.
- 25:18Speaker 6: I mean forgive me for not knowing that. I don't
- 25:19Speaker 6: think it matters. Someone asked me a question that I
- 25:21Speaker 6: had absolutely no clue of an answer. Why why do
- 25:27Speaker 6: they have a clock right in overtime at all?
- 25:31Speaker 4: Maybe just for the place like having to, oh, no,
- 25:33Speaker 4: you need a play clock. Well no, but I mean
- 25:35Speaker 4: just to like say when the play let's.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Way. Let's just say that you're on that third possession,
- 25:41Speaker 1: right and you're behind, and you're coming up to the
- 25:46Speaker 1: end of that first quarter, you have to score before
- 25:49Speaker 1: the quarters out of the game's over, even if you're
- 25:52Speaker 1: still possessing the ball.
- 25:54Speaker 6: No, no, which quarter of the second if this, if
- 25:58Speaker 6: there's a team that's winning or lose. You're telling me
- 26:01Speaker 6: that if that quarter ended and the Chiefs.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Would have lost, why else do you have a clock?
- 26:06Speaker 6: The Chiefs wouldn't have lost if they didn't score on
- 26:08Speaker 6: that play.
- 26:08Speaker 8: Yeah, they would have kept the ball at the beginning
- 26:10Speaker 8: they went to the second quarter.
- 26:12Speaker 5: Yeah, it would be the second quarter. It was was
- 26:14Speaker 5: they because I was thinking the same thing. It would
- 26:15Speaker 5: counting down.
- 26:16Speaker 6: It's true about that absolutely positive quarters.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Yeah, they said this would they would just you know,
- 26:21Speaker 4: go into the second quarter.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Why I have a clock?
- 26:24Speaker 6: And with that we brought it home.
- 26:26Speaker 1: But I thought the answer was because you have to
- 26:29Speaker 1: you have to do it within that quarter.
- 26:31Speaker 8: No, it's not like it would end to end like
- 26:34Speaker 8: in the regular season, right.
- 26:35Speaker 4: I mean, there really isn't.
- 26:36Speaker 9: No.
- 26:36Speaker 5: I mean, the only thing I could possibly think of
- 26:38Speaker 5: is just to categorize the plays of.
- 26:41Speaker 6: The regular season. If that ten minutes runs out, it's
- 26:44Speaker 6: a tie. So I understand why there's a clock there.
- 26:46Speaker 6: But there's no ties in the play the third.
- 26:50Speaker 4: But if it went to a third overtime, would that
- 26:51Speaker 4: be halftime?
- 26:52Speaker 6: Then with that, you said that fifteen, they started the fifteen,
- 26:56Speaker 6: So there was two possessions in.
- 26:57Speaker 8: The The Niners had a seven minute possession right running
- 27:03Speaker 8: the ball as everybody say that they abandoned the rules.
- 27:08Speaker 6: But that's why I mean McCaffrey. I looked it up
- 27:10Speaker 6: because everybody was saying it. As I was driving on Monday,
- 27:13Speaker 6: I was like, I don't remember, Like my mind's like
- 27:15Speaker 6: I didn't remember that, And then I looked up the
- 27:17Speaker 6: game book and it was like McCaffrey had nine carries
- 27:20Speaker 6: in the first half. We ended up with like twenty
- 27:22Speaker 6: something twenty two I think, Yeah, I think thirteen carries
- 27:25Speaker 6: in the second half. That's a lot of carries.
- 27:27Speaker 8: The only defending of Kyle Shanahan that I will do
- 27:29Speaker 8: because he did he did not have a good end
- 27:31Speaker 8: to this game, So I'm not gonna sit here and
- 27:32Speaker 8: tell you that he was great. But we don't even
- 27:35Speaker 8: talk about it correctly, like we just make stuff up,
- 27:38Speaker 8: Like we just say, oh, they abandoned the run in
- 27:39Speaker 8: the second half.
- 27:40Speaker 6: They didn't. They didn't. They ran the ball.
- 27:42Speaker 8: Seven times in overtime on their drive, like they didn't
- 27:45Speaker 8: abandon the run, like, and they would just make this
- 27:48Speaker 8: stuff up instead of actually pointing out real things that
- 27:51Speaker 8: actually happened in the game, like the third down play
- 27:53Speaker 8: call and overtime stunk. It was a terrible play call.
- 27:56Speaker 8: It was not going to work, and they run a
- 27:59Speaker 8: zero blitch in your play actioning against the zero blitz, Like,
- 28:03Speaker 8: good luck with that. It was not a good play call.
- 28:06Speaker 8: But that's not what we're talking about.
- 28:08Speaker 1: You know how they scored that touchdown with the throwback.
- 28:11Speaker 1: I was like, man, if the Patriots tried to do that,
- 28:13Speaker 1: they'd have lost twenty yards.
- 28:15Speaker 4: You know, oh these Patriots.
- 28:17Speaker 6: You mean, I didn't love that call either.
- 28:18Speaker 4: I know that was that was Harry.
- 28:20Speaker 6: I mean, that was really There were a lot of
- 28:22Speaker 6: people like that, especially at that time of the game.
- 28:24Speaker 6: I thought the Niners were doing what they wanted to
- 28:26Speaker 6: do offensively. They came out the first couple of drives
- 28:29Speaker 6: and I thought they looked really, really crisp offensively, and
- 28:32Speaker 6: then you throw that play in. Yeah weird.
- 28:35Speaker 1: There was just a lot of traffic around there, and
- 28:37Speaker 1: I'm like, oh boy.
- 28:38Speaker 6: I know, how about Juan Jennings though, like they probably
- 28:41Speaker 6: would have want MVP. Yeah, if they had wanted in regulation,
- 28:45Speaker 6: Like let's say that the Chiefs didn't go down and
- 28:48Speaker 6: get a field goal at the end and they won
- 28:49Speaker 6: whatever it would have been nineteen sixteen. I guess I
- 28:53Speaker 6: think he would have, like I think McCaffrey probably as
- 28:56Speaker 6: he continued to pile up the big plays, would have it.
- 29:00Speaker 6: But I thought it was the fourth quarter in overtime.
- 29:03Speaker 6: I thought we're riveting, you know, when both teams kept
- 29:05Speaker 6: getting the ball and having to score, and they both did.
- 29:08Speaker 5: I think I was just too angry because I'm like,
- 29:09Speaker 5: you idiots, you're gonna let Patrick Mahomes win.
- 29:12Speaker 6: Like that was the whole time. I was just sitting there.
- 29:13Speaker 4: That's what I was thinking of, Like, man, you guys
- 29:15Speaker 4: don't get it.
- 29:16Speaker 6: I just appreciate greatness.
- 29:19Speaker 5: I do too, but I but you know, they have
- 29:21Speaker 5: to see the game unfolding a certain way, and you're
- 29:23Speaker 5: likes especially.
- 29:24Speaker 1: The second half, they come out.
- 29:27Speaker 7: Here.
- 29:27Speaker 6: We got teams made really huge mistakes. All teams fumbled
- 29:31Speaker 6: in the red zone. You know, Mahomes comes out and
- 29:34Speaker 6: you know in the second was it the second no,
- 29:36Speaker 6: the first drive of the second half and throws a
- 29:38Speaker 6: pick even though that would have been punting anyway, but
- 29:42Speaker 6: you know that the punt was huge. But it's not
- 29:44Speaker 6: like the Chiefs didn't do anything wrong and wasn't there
- 29:47Speaker 6: like seven fumbles. You can't explain about the calls on
- 29:50Speaker 6: this one. And I know the Chiefs get every call
- 29:52Speaker 6: according to everybody on Twitter, but there were about four
- 29:55Speaker 6: calls that were like huh in that game, down one
- 30:00Speaker 6: lthough to start overtime that they're down holding call, which
- 30:03Speaker 6: I thought was probably a good call, but didn't really
- 30:05Speaker 6: get called the rest of the game.
- 30:07Speaker 10: You know.
- 30:07Speaker 6: It's kind of like the Philadelphia one the year before, Right.
- 30:10Speaker 6: It's funny how it didn't end up costing the team
- 30:11Speaker 6: a game though. I don't know how these things work.
- 30:13Speaker 6: It's much like the Patriots, Like Patriots used to have
- 30:16Speaker 6: calls like that every once in a while, and they
- 30:18Speaker 6: overcame them. You know, it didn't become a huge thing.
- 30:21Speaker 1: What did you think of halftime?
- 30:24Speaker 6: I loved it good. I thought it was good.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I think from the roller skates on, I liked it
- 30:30Speaker 1: a lot of energy before the roller skates. I didn't
- 30:32Speaker 1: think there was enough energy at.
- 30:34Speaker 6: Licia Keys was before the up States.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I know, yeah, but I got a little mellow like
- 30:38Speaker 1: yeah exactly, and like they're always trotting her out like
- 30:44Speaker 1: either pregame or everybody likes her.
- 30:46Speaker 8: I just really like how now like millennials are like
- 30:50Speaker 8: the target demographic for the super Bowl halftime. So it's
- 30:53Speaker 8: like it's it takes me back, you know, like it's
- 30:55Speaker 8: all of our people, it's Usher, it's Rihanna, And I
- 30:59Speaker 8: remember as a kid, I like me, it was like
- 31:00Speaker 8: my father, you know, maybe a little bit younger, and
- 31:03Speaker 8: I was like, who are these people?
- 31:05Speaker 6: Right?
- 31:05Speaker 8: But now it's like all for us, which I feel
- 31:08Speaker 8: maybe makes me feel a little bit old, but also
- 31:10Speaker 8: makes me feel happy because.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Fall and I miss up with people.
- 31:13Speaker 6: Well, so it's funny you say that I did my
- 31:16Speaker 6: my new tradition. I was telling you guys about I
- 31:19Speaker 6: try to toward the end of the performance go to
- 31:22Speaker 6: Twitter to see if I can find someone who loved
- 31:25Speaker 6: it and someone who hated it. And bang, first one,
- 31:29Speaker 6: I see, this is setting super Bowl halftime shows back
- 31:34Speaker 6: decades up with people. Yeah, I've done the next one.
- 31:40Speaker 6: I don't know, just rand randos on Twitter. I don't
- 31:43Speaker 6: know who they are, Mike, Mike, Bop Straw. So the
- 31:47Speaker 6: next one, no, no, no, no, don't say this Straw. I mean,
- 31:50Speaker 6: then the next one is legendary performance by Usher up
- 31:56Speaker 6: there with Prince and Michael. Okay, I'm not saying that.
- 31:59Speaker 6: And I'm like there it is. I wrote about it
- 32:01Speaker 6: notes it's like an exercise that I've tried, Like you
- 32:05Speaker 6: can find someone immediately who loved it and hated it,
- 32:09Speaker 6: and I just find that so funny. I like, I
- 32:11Speaker 6: like Usher, so it was kind of for me. I like,
- 32:14Speaker 6: I like that music.
- 32:15Speaker 8: But it's just if if you're the target demographic, then
- 32:17Speaker 8: you're gonna like it. If you're not, then then you're not.
- 32:20Speaker 8: It's like and it's a very target. It's like you too, everybody.
- 32:23Speaker 8: I mean, the symbolism of one was to me still tops.
- 32:27Speaker 8: But I don't like you too. I don't like their music,
- 32:29Speaker 8: but I don't enjoy like the performance. But it was
- 32:32Speaker 8: an incredible halftime.
- 32:34Speaker 1: But like, I'm not the target performance. But when uh,
- 32:37Speaker 1: you know, demographic, but when j Loo and Shakira out there,
- 32:40Speaker 1: that was like high energy from beginning to end.
- 32:43Speaker 8: You are the target demographic.
- 32:44Speaker 6: Okay, that was that was different.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I mean that was like and I'm not like you
- 32:49Speaker 1: was taking either of their music, but it was just
- 32:51Speaker 1: a great performance by both of them from beginning to end.
- 32:54Speaker 1: This one, yeah, well, I think this one started off
- 32:58Speaker 1: kind of slow, but then the roller skates can aiming
- 33:00Speaker 1: and then he got into his big hit, you know,
- 33:02Speaker 1: the one that.
- 33:03Speaker 6: I can't believe he didn't do. DJ got his Falling
- 33:05Speaker 6: in Love.
- 33:05Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's good.
- 33:06Speaker 5: But did you see some girl fall off the roller
- 33:09Speaker 5: skate thing? Though I saw, really, I missed a funny
- 33:11Speaker 5: thing this morning, like that happened.
- 33:13Speaker 6: This girl was like mishaps fred Friend's there for it.
- 33:16Speaker 4: She's got like a black eye, she's got like some
- 33:18Speaker 4: bloody you know.
- 33:19Speaker 6: She really So this is like I saw that. It
- 33:22Speaker 6: was an after It was.
- 33:24Speaker 5: In like after interview and she and she's an actress,
- 33:27Speaker 5: and she said, you know, this is kind of a
- 33:28Speaker 5: cautionary tale because like when we used to cast people
- 33:31Speaker 5: and you get actors resumes, it always has like other
- 33:34Speaker 5: talents and it'll be.
- 33:35Speaker 11: Like saper fighting, you know, like they'll have all this
- 33:39Speaker 11: random stuff in there. So she's roller skating on her thing
- 33:42Speaker 11: and then she was like, yeah, I didn't roller skate,
- 33:45Speaker 11: and I guess she.
- 33:45Speaker 4: I didn't see it.
- 33:46Speaker 5: I wouldn't want I didn't see her taket, but I
- 33:47Speaker 5: guess she took it aheader and was all bloodied and
- 33:50Speaker 5: bruised because she said that she could roller skate, and uh,
- 33:53Speaker 5: I missed that.
- 33:53Speaker 6: You see now. But the let It Burn Confessions mash
- 33:57Speaker 6: up that he did in the middle was just chef's kiss.
- 34:00Speaker 6: I mean us we're talking about, Yeah, I would.
- 34:04Speaker 4: I think I went to clean up the kitchen like Rihanna.
- 34:07Speaker 6: You know is Rihanna.
- 34:08Speaker 8: She's she's a goddess, she's perfect, but she was pregnant
- 34:11Speaker 8: and you know there it was definitely wasn't her her.
- 34:14Speaker 8: I would say that Doctor dre One was probably my
- 34:17Speaker 8: recent favorite, just because I'm a big rap guy, but
- 34:20Speaker 8: this was pretty good.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, And then commercials.
- 34:24Speaker 5: The Dunkin one, I mean ben Affleck, I I just like,
- 34:27Speaker 5: you know, they're those guys hilarious, and I just love
- 34:30Speaker 5: how they used Brady like they didn't make a big
- 34:31Speaker 5: deal out of Brady. It was just like my guy
- 34:33Speaker 5: Tom and it's just Brady with these little glasses.
- 34:37Speaker 4: And then how you like them donuts.
- 34:39Speaker 5: I'm sorry, that line from Matt Dame was hilarious. I mean,
- 34:41Speaker 5: then all the other you know, little stuff they put
- 34:43Speaker 5: out on social media.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean they sold those times.
- 34:45Speaker 4: Those things sold out in like seventeen minutes.
- 34:48Speaker 6: And I'm not gonna lie. That would be good.
- 34:50Speaker 1: You should come out.
- 34:51Speaker 6: You should catch two great Halloween costume.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Oh that's exactly what I thought, probably exactly.
- 34:56Speaker 5: I mean, you and your buddy go out with those things.
- 34:58Speaker 5: I mean, but they're hilarious. I mean, that's the only
- 35:01Speaker 5: one that really tom stood out to me, you can say.
- 35:04Speaker 1: And I thought, you know, there was a lot of
- 35:07Speaker 1: you know, uh brands that just let's just get as
- 35:10Speaker 1: many stars as we can that you wouldn't expect to
- 35:12Speaker 1: the same thing.
- 35:13Speaker 6: I wrote that, Yeah, that there was the star par
- 35:16Speaker 6: was there, but I didn't really see much that was
- 35:18Speaker 6: overly memorable other than.
- 35:19Speaker 5: The donks that Tamu company that had like fifty different ads.
- 35:22Speaker 5: Did you see that one that does like it's like
- 35:24Speaker 5: a cheap used not used cheap place, like a cheap
- 35:27Speaker 5: Amazon that they had a bunch of it, But I
- 35:29Speaker 5: don't know that was.
- 35:29Speaker 1: What I just want everyone to know. Jesus gets us okay.
- 35:34Speaker 6: Oh that was linking to We're watching that.
- 35:35Speaker 4: She's like, what is this ad? And I'm like, just wait,
- 35:37Speaker 4: she hasn't.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Ever seen that before. They were always.
- 35:41Speaker 8: I like the Miickeelo with Messi and Jason Sadekas. That
- 35:44Speaker 8: was good, little ted Lasso shut out.
- 35:46Speaker 1: It was good. But like when you see that. It's like, man,
- 35:49Speaker 1: they could be better, you know, like, if you gotta
- 35:51Speaker 1: get messy, it should be like so good. And it
- 35:54Speaker 1: was okay, you know like that. I thought the couch
- 35:57Speaker 1: potato thing was clever, but a little too long.
- 36:01Speaker 6: You know, I got too many people in my house
- 36:03Speaker 6: to like me really get the.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Remember the couch potato. The farmers they're growing couch potatoes,
- 36:09Speaker 1: and it's all these people that are potatoes watching TV.
- 36:12Speaker 6: Have gone to the bathroom durnal Oh wow, David and
- 36:15Speaker 6: Jennifer ans One was that Uber eats.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I think, yeah, yeah, that was good.
- 36:21Speaker 6: Star Power thought of stars.
- 36:23Speaker 8: Dunk Kings took it. Dunk Dunkings love not even close.
- 36:28Speaker 8: I agree with you to the Jlo line at the end,
- 36:31Speaker 8: you can stay perfect.
- 36:32Speaker 6: That was good perfect. That was good.
- 36:36Speaker 1: All right.
- 36:36Speaker 6: It was a little jealous because usually you, Paul, you
- 36:39Speaker 6: can stay.
- 36:40Speaker 8: I just like how Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are like,
- 36:43Speaker 8: don't take themselves too seriously.
- 36:45Speaker 6: Anymore, exactly.
- 36:45Speaker 8: They really really like they've they bought into that fact
- 36:49Speaker 8: of like we're we're not that cool.
- 36:51Speaker 6: I mean, how do you like them doughnuts?
- 36:53Speaker 4: Like that's gold?
- 36:54Speaker 5: I mean, you know, like having to be like really,
- 36:56Speaker 5: you know, like most guys probably be against that, but
- 36:58Speaker 5: they're they're down for fire.
- 37:00Speaker 6: I'm sorry questioning our friendship.
- 37:03Speaker 4: No, that's good for them. That's uh. They're bringing some
- 37:05Speaker 4: silliness to Boston and Duncan and our partners, so it's great.
- 37:08Speaker 8: Yeah, a lot of Boston there was. You know, Brady
- 37:10Speaker 8: was in a couple of commercials and I was a
- 37:13Speaker 8: little bit surprised by that because I feel like the
- 37:15Speaker 8: Patriots were still in the super Bowl in a way,
- 37:18Speaker 8: so I was like, that's that's how I'm looking.
- 37:20Speaker 6: I don't know, Jim, Oh god, it was awful. Was
- 37:25Speaker 6: one of the things. Again, with so many people in
- 37:27Speaker 6: the house, I didn't hear a lot of that. I
- 37:30Speaker 6: kept doing it and people are like, what are you
- 37:32Speaker 6: doing the things that like, you can't hear it right now,
- 37:33Speaker 6: But that's what that's what he's doing.
- 37:35Speaker 8: The things that irk me that people say when I
- 37:37Speaker 8: say that we don't actually have a real conversation about
- 37:40Speaker 8: how the game unfolded are because he says these things
- 37:43Speaker 8: on the broadcast and he's full of it, like he
- 37:45Speaker 8: has no idea what he's talking about, and it's just
- 37:48Speaker 8: like then then people regurgitate, Oh, you know. Well, Romo
- 37:52Speaker 8: said they abandoned the run game as they're running the
- 37:54Speaker 8: ball like five straight plays and it's like, what are
- 37:57Speaker 8: you doing?
- 37:58Speaker 1: Right? All right? Five to five pasts five hundred is
- 38:01Speaker 1: the ace taken outline?
- 38:03Speaker 6: Should be real cool?
- 38:04Speaker 1: Final final standings.
- 38:06Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, to do those?
- 38:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I might as well get that over all right.
- 38:10Speaker 6: And well, not good, Bob, Alex and Paul correctly predicted
- 38:18Speaker 6: the super Bowl one and oh, you guys all lost
- 38:21Speaker 6: in one. With the spread, Alex and Paul correctly picked
- 38:25Speaker 6: the super Bowl. You guys all lost, So Fred, you
- 38:29Speaker 6: take the Yeah, the overall, I'm not accepting it.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I think that if you lose the super Bowl game,
- 38:37Speaker 1: you can't you can't.
- 38:39Speaker 6: Well you win ten and three. I was nine and four,
- 38:41Speaker 6: Evan was eight and five, Mike and Alex were seven
- 38:43Speaker 6: and six.
- 38:44Speaker 8: I would have been nine and four if I didn't
- 38:45Speaker 8: pick the super Bowl with my heart. So with the spread,
- 38:48Speaker 8: I pulled a Fred on that one. Paul and Fred
- 38:51Speaker 8: tied for the lead at eight and five. I told you,
- 38:53Speaker 8: you gave me an opportunity to tell you.
- 38:55Speaker 6: I took it. Okay, I took it and broke a
- 38:58Speaker 6: major rule of engagement. And Evan was seven and six,
- 39:03Speaker 6: Alex was five and eight, and somehow Mike was four
- 39:05Speaker 6: and nine.
- 39:07Speaker 1: I don't know how.
- 39:08Speaker 6: I just don't even know how.
- 39:09Speaker 4: I just got to do the opposite and then I
- 39:10Speaker 4: would have come in second.
- 39:11Speaker 6: How do you wake up in the morning. The one thing,
- 39:14Speaker 6: the one last thing about the Super Bowl, Like I was,
- 39:17Speaker 6: I was talking about this with my father and my brother,
- 39:19Speaker 6: like when I was like in high school. Every year
- 39:24Speaker 6: you get jacked up for the Super Bowl, and every
- 39:26Speaker 6: year it was over in the second quarter. Like there
- 39:29Speaker 6: was a string of NFC dominance. Oh yeah, in my
- 39:32Speaker 6: like high school years through you know, early early adults.
- 39:36Speaker 6: You know, Dallas just crushing Buffalo and they were just
- 39:40Speaker 6: no clothes. Now it seems like every game goes down
- 39:43Speaker 6: to the last possession. Yeah, it's great, it is. It's
- 39:46Speaker 6: great even if your team doesn't win. At least it
- 39:48Speaker 6: was riveting down the.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Street and we're due for a blowout. But I don't
- 39:52Speaker 1: know when it's coming, you know.
- 39:54Speaker 6: I mean, like even the Patriots rams won. That's thirteen
- 39:58Speaker 6: to three, Like it wasn't a great game, but even that,
- 40:01Speaker 6: it's three three in the fourth quarter.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Intense, you know, yep, all right, let's get to the
- 40:06Speaker 1: stacked phone lines here, and boy are they stacked. We'll
- 40:10Speaker 1: start with Eric in Nashville. Hey, Eric, Hey, how's it
- 40:14Speaker 1: going Goody?
- 40:17Speaker 12: So, I wanted to ask kind of a question about
- 40:20Speaker 12: the direction of this season a little bit. I'm not
- 40:23Speaker 12: going to put the quarterback question by you because I'm
- 40:26Speaker 12: tired of hearing about it. But in that kind of regard,
- 40:30Speaker 12: what would you guys feel, or how would you guys
- 40:33Speaker 12: feel if we ended up drafting May and sitting him
- 40:37Speaker 12: similar to what you know many teams have done in
- 40:39Speaker 12: the past. When you look at the track record of
- 40:42Speaker 12: that decision, there's a lot of guys like Montana, Steve Young,
- 40:45Speaker 12: Brady Mahomes, Herbert Rogers, et cetera, who all like sat
- 40:50Speaker 12: behind some quarterback and in that next year they kind
- 40:53Speaker 12: of started their reign. And I would kind of like
- 40:56Speaker 12: to see that with this year because we have so
- 40:58Speaker 12: many holes.
- 41:00Speaker 6: I I don't have any problem with that.
- 41:01Speaker 5: If he's not ready to play, I just wonder who
- 41:03Speaker 5: is playing, And.
- 41:05Speaker 6: Justin Herbert started the second game of his career. By
- 41:07Speaker 6: the way, Taylor.
- 41:09Speaker 1: And all those yea and all those it's all circumstantial.
- 41:13Speaker 1: I mean, Brett Farv was.
- 41:15Speaker 6: Peyton Manning started this first game too, and that worked.
- 41:17Speaker 1: On Brett Farv was on the team, and you know
- 41:19Speaker 1: they were uh Joe Montana with Steve Young, and there's
- 41:23Speaker 1: all reasons why. You know, had they not had a
- 41:27Speaker 1: quarterback who was seasoned, they might have started.
- 41:30Speaker 6: But I don't want to play him if he's not ready. God,
- 41:32Speaker 6: I agree with.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Eric, but he's only not ready as compared to the
- 41:36Speaker 1: other quarters on the team.
- 41:37Speaker 6: But I'm what I'm saying is if he's better, not
- 41:40Speaker 6: necessarily yeah, because he could have.
- 41:42Speaker 8: It's it's relative to him, Like, it doesn't make a
- 41:44Speaker 8: difference if he's better right now than like if.
- 41:47Speaker 6: They if they signed, if they signed Jakobe Brissett and
- 41:50Speaker 6: Jayden Daniels is better than Brissette, but he's not ready
- 41:53Speaker 6: to play, then I'd rather have, yeah, because because he's better,
- 41:57Speaker 6: but he's not ready to play. At least is ready.
- 41:59Speaker 6: He can protect himsel. He doesn't have the skills that
- 42:01Speaker 6: Jaden Daniels has. Yeah, but he knows how to play.
- 42:03Speaker 1: But to me, being ready to play is you're the
- 42:06Speaker 1: best quarterback on the team. Yeah, I mean at that time,
- 42:11Speaker 1: I disagree.
- 42:12Speaker 8: Is a bigger picture that you have to look at
- 42:14Speaker 8: and you're not looking to win the twenty twenty four season,
- 42:17Speaker 8: necessarily looking for the next decade to have your quarterback.
- 42:20Speaker 8: And if you throw him out there before he's ready,
- 42:23Speaker 8: just because he's better than Joe Flacco.
- 42:25Speaker 6: He gets bad habits, you know, relying on his app.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I remember because I was kind of covering the team
- 42:32Speaker 1: back when Bledsoe, you know, got drafted in ninety three.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I was doing another magazine, but there was talk, oh,
- 42:38Speaker 1: do you let him play right away? And he came
- 42:41Speaker 1: on the team, you had to.
- 42:43Speaker 6: That's different.
- 42:43Speaker 8: If he comes out on the field and Jaden Daniels
- 42:46Speaker 8: is just a completely unreal in training camp and is
- 42:50Speaker 8: playing out of his mind, then yeah, you play him
- 42:52Speaker 8: if he's ready.
- 42:53Speaker 6: But if he's ready, that's why I said, I don't.
- 42:55Speaker 6: I don't want to send him for the sake of sitting.
- 42:56Speaker 1: But how do you know what guy's ready to train?
- 42:59Speaker 6: You know what you're and what he's recognizing. It goes
- 43:01Speaker 6: back to Brady's comment to Steve Young.
- 43:03Speaker 1: Oh, okay, no, but That's what I'm saying. But to me,
- 43:06Speaker 1: that's all part of being the best quarterback of the team.
- 43:08Speaker 6: We're talking about skills.
- 43:09Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no, no, wait no, see now you're
- 43:12Speaker 1: thinking too much.
- 43:13Speaker 6: I know we would use semantics.
- 43:14Speaker 1: No, you're overthinking it. What I When I say a
- 43:17Speaker 1: guy is the best quarterback on the team, I mean
- 43:19Speaker 1: in practice. Like it's clear this guy's the best. And
- 43:23Speaker 1: you can't be the best quarterback in practice if you
- 43:26Speaker 1: don't know how to run the plays.
- 43:27Speaker 6: But but you can, What do you mean? I think
- 43:31Speaker 6: Evan's right. I think you have skills that are better
- 43:33Speaker 6: than the other guys. But the other guy's mind is But.
- 43:37Speaker 1: If you're not throwing it to the right place, I
- 43:38Speaker 1: can't play you.
- 43:39Speaker 6: But it's not even about the other guy.
- 43:41Speaker 8: It's about is it what's best for this player's development?
- 43:45Speaker 13: Like?
- 43:45Speaker 6: Who cares if he's better than Joe Flacco? That's not
- 43:47Speaker 6: the goal.
- 43:48Speaker 8: The goal isn't for him to be better than a
- 43:50Speaker 8: backup quarterback that's thirty nine years old. The goal is
- 43:52Speaker 8: for him to be a star.
- 43:53Speaker 4: So do you think they should have sat Mac?
- 43:56Speaker 6: No? I don't. I think he was ready to play.
- 43:59Speaker 6: I think mentally he's better than you know coming into
- 44:02Speaker 6: the league. Mentally he's much better than physically.
- 44:04Speaker 1: I still think you guys are overthinking.
- 44:07Speaker 5: I'm kind of more with you, fred I just I mean,
- 44:09Speaker 5: I wanted to play. If he can't beat out Jacoby
- 44:11Speaker 5: Brissett and he's a third overall pick, I'm gonna be
- 44:13Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Like, if Jacoby Brissette is like head and shoulders, like
- 44:17Speaker 1: running the team better, that means right now, at this moment,
- 44:21Speaker 1: the other guy might have better skills, But right now,
- 44:23Speaker 1: this guy's I know, Jacobett, it's a better quarterback. So
- 44:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna play Jacoby Pressette. But that's not always the case.
- 44:30Speaker 8: But what if Jayden Daniels is a better quarterback. But
- 44:33Speaker 8: for Jaden Daniels' career, it's better for him to sit
- 44:37Speaker 8: and hold the clipboard behind Jacoby Brissett for the next month.
- 44:39Speaker 6: Why because it's just better. But you don't want him
- 44:43Speaker 6: to get bad habits lie on his athleticism and not
- 44:46Speaker 6: seeing and maybe like get hit too much.
- 44:49Speaker 8: Like this year, the schedule out of the gate is
- 44:52Speaker 8: really difficult, and you don't want to throw him into
- 44:54Speaker 8: a week one game against Buffalo or Miami or something
- 44:58Speaker 8: like that and have him get his butt kit.
- 45:00Speaker 6: And this is not I'm not saying this because it's
- 45:02Speaker 6: my guy. But if it's Drew Bledsoe and Scott Sequels. Okay,
- 45:06Speaker 6: now that's a mild difference, like there's no decision to
- 45:09Speaker 6: be made. Even though Drew's maybe not like mentally one
- 45:13Speaker 6: hundred percent ready, he's so much better than the alternative
- 45:17Speaker 6: we're talking about. Jayden Daniels or Drake May physically is
- 45:22Speaker 6: superior to Kobe Brissett, but Brissette is more prepared to
- 45:27Speaker 6: play the game. Now, well, it quack exactly, that's what
- 45:33Speaker 6: Eric is saying. That's all Eric is saying.
- 45:37Speaker 1: So then you're saying that no quarterback who rookie should
- 45:42Speaker 1: ever play before a season veteran.
- 45:44Speaker 6: No, some season veterans aren't any good. Fred, Oh, then
- 45:48Speaker 6: I don't want him as my backup. Okay, Well, if
- 45:53Speaker 6: it's Bailey Zappy, he's not very good. You had him
- 45:56Speaker 6: as your backup last year.
- 45:57Speaker 1: He's gonna be more prepared to play than any rookie,
- 46:00Speaker 1: any rookie.
- 46:00Speaker 8: I don't need the rookie to sit the entire seaies.
- 46:04Speaker 8: I'm not but's the guy I would sit him for this.
- 46:07Speaker 1: I'm not against the guy sitting. I'm not against that,
- 46:10Speaker 1: but I'm just saying there's some circumstances where the guy
- 46:13Speaker 1: comes in and you just gotta play him.
- 46:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I think there's a lot of I am not
- 46:18Speaker 6: anti playing the guy. I just gave you a handful
- 46:20Speaker 6: of examples of guys that were pretty good. I know
- 46:23Speaker 6: this is another one, like you can't take a quarterback
- 46:25Speaker 6: in the top three because they all sock, because they
- 46:27Speaker 6: all ignore the ones that are good. And this is
- 46:30Speaker 6: another one. Well, you know Patrick Mahomes didn't play his
- 46:33Speaker 6: first year. Well you know what, they might have another
- 46:35Speaker 6: title if they played him his first year. How's that sound?
- 46:38Speaker 6: You wasted a year playing Alex Smith. The one game
- 46:41Speaker 6: that Mahomes played that year, he lit it up. So
- 46:44Speaker 6: maybe you would have won that Super Bowl too. Like,
- 46:47Speaker 6: I just don't like this blanket where you have to
- 46:49Speaker 6: have everything in a box. Quarterbacks don't play, Quarterbacks do play?
- 46:53Speaker 6: Like why can't you just assess the two guys and
- 46:56Speaker 6: make a determination from there, right?
- 46:58Speaker 5: I mean, I think my whole point of view and
- 47:00Speaker 5: this is just that I would be disappointed if a
- 47:02Speaker 5: third overall pick can't beat out somebody.
- 47:04Speaker 4: And you know, and I understand, I absolutely agree with that.
- 47:07Speaker 8: I just wouldn't say it's not beating out like that's
- 47:10Speaker 8: and this is maybeing that ready.
- 47:11Speaker 4: And but I think it's the line too.
- 47:12Speaker 8: Of I would just like, look at the bigger picture
- 47:15Speaker 8: of is September of his rookie season really what you're after,
- 47:19Speaker 8: Like it is him starting and them winning games in
- 47:23Speaker 8: September of his rookie season, really the bigger picture of
- 47:27Speaker 8: his career development.
- 47:28Speaker 1: And I don't know, I think you want to. I
- 47:32Speaker 1: think you're micromanaging a little bit, like, yes, if it's
- 47:35Speaker 1: the top three quarterback, you're the guy that you have
- 47:40Speaker 1: better be really you know, your backup better be really good.
- 47:42Speaker 6: Because I agree with you, guys, And now I think
- 47:44Speaker 6: I agree with both. I see Mike's face agreeing with you.
- 47:47Speaker 6: I agree with what you're saying.
- 47:48Speaker 5: I just think it's it's it's it's a line, and
- 47:50Speaker 5: you want you want to acquire experience and some of
- 47:53Speaker 5: the things that maybe he doesn't have yet. Well he's
- 47:55Speaker 5: probably the quickest way for him to get it is
- 47:57Speaker 5: just to see it in a game and get over it.
- 47:58Speaker 5: But but I get your point too.
- 48:00Speaker 6: It's always causing effect, right, Like Patrick Mahomes didn't play
- 48:03Speaker 6: us first year, so that's the way to do it.
- 48:05Speaker 6: Because he's great, he's the best in the game. Okay, well,
- 48:08Speaker 6: I agree with something that Fred started to say a
- 48:10Speaker 6: little while ago. When you're at Green Bay and you
- 48:13Speaker 6: have Brett Farve, you can afford to slowly integrate Aaron
- 48:17Speaker 6: Rodgers because you're one of the best teams in football
- 48:19Speaker 6: and you're competing already. When you're Kansas City and you
- 48:22Speaker 6: have Alex Smith, you're already a twelve win team that's
- 48:25Speaker 6: going to the playoffs. No, you couldn't win a Super
- 48:28Speaker 6: Bowl with Alex Smith, but you were a really good team.
- 48:30Speaker 6: You don't have that urgency when you're a bad team.
- 48:35Speaker 6: What's wrong with letting? Now, if the guy's not ready,
- 48:37Speaker 6: he's not ready. Again, you got to treat a case
- 48:39Speaker 6: by case. You don't want to break him. But if
- 48:42Speaker 6: he's ready, And I do think mac Jones was ready
- 48:45Speaker 6: his rookie year. I don't think that playing his rookie
- 48:48Speaker 6: year broke him. It was everything that happened after that
- 48:50Speaker 6: that broke.
- 48:51Speaker 1: But now, now on the other side, if you know
- 48:53Speaker 1: your offensive line stinks, that.
- 48:57Speaker 5: Was just the point I was going to bring up.
- 48:58Speaker 5: If you know, if we're taking the quarterback three and
- 49:00Speaker 5: then you get down in the second round, there's not
- 49:02Speaker 5: really a tackle.
- 49:02Speaker 9: And.
- 49:06Speaker 1: It's circumstantial. What are the circumstances at the moment, you know.
- 49:10Speaker 6: Like when you have a good team, that, don't you
- 49:13Speaker 6: think that also helped that quarterback, Like because now he's
- 49:16Speaker 6: inheriting a good team. This isn't that.
- 49:20Speaker 8: I just think a lot of teams rush quarterbacks that
- 49:23Speaker 8: in Paul's scenario where you're a bad team and you
- 49:26Speaker 8: just picked the guy high and you want it, that
- 49:29Speaker 8: instant gratification of we made the right pick and this
- 49:31Speaker 8: guy's gonna flip our our, you know, fortunes around, and
- 49:35Speaker 8: I would just play the long game, like I would
- 49:37Speaker 8: be more patient than that. And it does mean getting
- 49:40Speaker 8: a decent backup quarterback. And I think that's one thing
- 49:42Speaker 8: about this free agency class. I don't love a lot
- 49:45Speaker 8: of the Baker Mayfield, you know, path quarterbacks in this
- 49:49Speaker 8: free agency class. But I think like a Gardner Minshew
- 49:52Speaker 8: or a Jacobe Brussett or one of those guys, they
- 49:55Speaker 8: could carry you to Halloween and you and you and
- 49:59Speaker 8: you might be an ex eptible team until then.
- 50:01Speaker 6: And if you're not doing great, well, okay, so you
- 50:04Speaker 6: know the seasons, you know, with two and five, you know,
- 50:06Speaker 6: let's see if the kid can you know, give me something,
- 50:10Speaker 6: you know, and again it's all case by case. C J. Stroud.
- 50:14Speaker 6: He played day one, you know, set all kinds of
- 50:16Speaker 6: rookie records, and Anthony Richardson showed some promise playing day one,
- 50:20Speaker 6: you know, before he got hurt. Bryce Young looked like
- 50:23Speaker 6: he wasn't quite ready, you know, he struggled playing day one.
- 50:26Speaker 6: So I just I don't think it's you can just
- 50:30Speaker 6: say this is how you do it if you want
- 50:33Speaker 6: to be good, like it's a felgerism. If you want
- 50:35Speaker 6: to be good, you gotta do it like the Packers
- 50:36Speaker 6: do it. And I'm saying, yeah, have Brett Farv, you know,
- 50:40Speaker 6: and then Aaron Rodgers and now Jordan Love and Jordan
- 50:42Speaker 6: Love had some success right away. So that's the way
- 50:45Speaker 6: to do it. You gotta you gotta let the quarterback
- 50:46Speaker 6: sit for two years, two years.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Most most teams don't have that luxury. That's why they're
- 50:50Speaker 1: in the quarterback business in market.
- 50:53Speaker 5: And even specific to the you know, the quarterbacks that
- 50:55Speaker 5: you guys were talking about in May and Daniels even
- 50:57Speaker 5: there's disparity between those two guys and and you know,
- 51:00Speaker 5: and they think everybody kind of agrees that Daniels probably
- 51:02Speaker 5: has except for that one guy that calls in every week,
- 51:04Speaker 5: that Daniels has a little bit more of a ways
- 51:06Speaker 5: to go and a little bit more of development to do.
- 51:08Speaker 5: But I mean that's probably a factor too of you know.
- 51:11Speaker 5: I just there's also just the clock is ticking though,
- 51:13Speaker 5: you know, and it's you want to get experience, you
- 51:15Speaker 5: want to get you want to just get them to
- 51:17Speaker 5: where they're going to be so they can start acquiring
- 51:19Speaker 5: that experience as soon as possible.
- 51:21Speaker 1: So it's you know that that's what's hard.
- 51:22Speaker 5: But I mean I go back to Bryce hung last
- 51:24Speaker 5: year and wonder, you know, was that a situation where
- 51:27Speaker 5: there's not.
- 51:27Speaker 4: Much around him, it's kind of all on him.
- 51:29Speaker 6: Well, that's why I brought There were all three bad teams,
- 51:34Speaker 6: and all three of them would take it in the
- 51:35Speaker 6: top four picks, and they all started right away. One
- 51:40Speaker 6: of them had immense success, one of them showed some promise,
- 51:43Speaker 6: and one of them looked overwhelmed. Like so it's three
- 51:46Speaker 6: kind of really varied results.
- 51:49Speaker 1: What was Joe Burrow when he first can't he was
- 51:51Speaker 1: played right away.
- 51:52Speaker 6: He played right away and he was really good and
- 51:54Speaker 6: got and that team wasn't very good. But he was
- 51:56Speaker 6: pretty good right from day one.
- 51:58Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, then he got Jamar Chase and then he
- 52:01Speaker 8: became he became a star.
- 52:04Speaker 1: All right, uh A five five pats. Eric has been
- 52:08Speaker 1: holding on it. Thanks for holding on, Eric. Let's see. Uh,
- 52:13Speaker 1: Anthony's in Seattle. What's up, Anthony?
- 52:16Speaker 14: Hey, what's up?
- 52:16Speaker 15: What's my people's Hello? Hey you guys? Yes, yes, okay,
- 52:24Speaker 15: forgive my voice. I was stick over the weekend and
- 52:26Speaker 15: my voice is still trying to recover. But as uh
- 52:29Speaker 15: as as Eric would say, according to Fred blended game,
- 52:35Speaker 15: I guess that you guys that you guys didn't get
- 52:37Speaker 15: that one.
- 52:37Speaker 6: Okay, but what I don't think. I don't think I
- 52:40Speaker 6: who won the game?
- 52:41Speaker 1: Is that what you said?
- 52:42Speaker 15: No, I said, as Eric would say, according to Fred
- 52:45Speaker 15: splendid game.
- 52:46Speaker 6: You remember splendid, splendid, splendid. I didn't hear your words.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Hurrah, hurrah.
- 52:53Speaker 6: That was wonderful competition. Yes, yes, hey, listen, well done.
- 52:59Speaker 15: I'm in the uh the minority of Patriots fans with this,
- 53:04Speaker 15: or at least I feel I am. But you know,
- 53:06Speaker 15: I don't mind.
- 53:07Speaker 6: Uh.
- 53:08Speaker 15: You know what Kansas City is doing right now? You know,
- 53:10Speaker 15: I appreciate greatness. And you know all the those years
- 53:13Speaker 15: and those moments and uh, those things that that that
- 53:16Speaker 15: I got to experience and we got to experience as
- 53:19Speaker 15: Patriots fans for all those years. Like those things can
- 53:23Speaker 15: like can never be taken away, and those those things
- 53:26Speaker 15: are forever. So like another team getting getting uh you know,
- 53:30Speaker 15: another dynasty being born, or another team getting to experience
- 53:35Speaker 15: that stuff that doesn't that doesn't bother me. And you know,
- 53:37Speaker 15: watching my homes play the guys, the guys of Beast
- 53:40Speaker 15: and you know, I, you know, I enjoy it. I'm
- 53:42Speaker 15: a football fan. I'm a football purist. I really really,
- 53:47Speaker 15: like I said, I'm in the minority. I like what.
- 53:49Speaker 6: I know. That's good.
- 53:49Speaker 1: I mean, listen, I I I hear what you're saying, Anthony,
- 53:52Speaker 1: and like, but I mind it.
- 53:56Speaker 6: I mind it like a wonderful honesty.
- 53:58Speaker 1: I appreciate what they're doing. They serve it. It's not
- 54:01Speaker 1: a fluke, it's not you know, but I mind it.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I don't want it to happen because I want it
- 54:06Speaker 1: all for myself. I'm sorry.
- 54:08Speaker 6: I know I get it, and I understand. I just
- 54:13Speaker 6: the defensiveness at least you are saying, like they deserve.
- 54:16Speaker 6: Of course they did the defensive like I had any
- 54:18Speaker 6: more people like you know, just a reminder, the Chiefs
- 54:21Speaker 6: haven't been called for a single holding call in a
- 54:23Speaker 6: Super bowls okay, like no, but in overtime they had
- 54:26Speaker 6: a guy catch a pass like three yards short of
- 54:28Speaker 6: the first down, get knocked back twenty yards, and all
- 54:30Speaker 6: of a sudden, it's second and fourteen, Like I have no,
- 54:32Speaker 6: I've never seen that in the game. Yeah, I've never
- 54:35Speaker 6: seen that spot like that in the game. Like he
- 54:37Speaker 6: literally got hit and didn't get knocked off his feet.
- 54:40Speaker 6: So instead of giving him forward progress, they gave it
- 54:43Speaker 6: to him when they actually took him down.
- 54:44Speaker 1: No, but he really he really aged he yes, he
- 54:47Speaker 1: was trying to run. You can't give him forward progress
- 54:50Speaker 1: if he's not being tackled. No, you can't.
- 54:54Speaker 6: If he got let me ask you something, if that
- 54:56Speaker 6: was the plane of the goal line, would it have
- 54:57Speaker 6: been a touchdown.
- 54:58Speaker 1: If he crossed no further? He crosses the plan for
- 55:01Speaker 1: the question, that's different. It's not even it's not.
- 55:03Speaker 6: Even it's the line you achieved. No, when that I've
- 55:08Speaker 6: never seen stop correct, and that was forward progress getting stop.
- 55:11Speaker 6: But there's a different rule at the goal line. It's
- 55:13Speaker 6: not the I understand that better than that. You know
- 55:19Speaker 6: that sends me into warm it don't. Yes, I gave
- 55:23Speaker 6: you an intentional Andy Hart hyperbole, but do not tell
- 55:27Speaker 6: me to be better. I'm not better.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Let's go to Ricky and Dorchester. What's up, Ricky, Ricky,
- 55:36Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 55:37Speaker 7: Hey? Hey, all right, I just want to shout you
- 55:41Speaker 7: guys out real fast. First time caller, a long time listener.
- 55:44Speaker 6: Hey, thanks Ricky given the heater.
- 55:49Speaker 7: And Ali isn't there, but shouting them out to love
- 55:51Speaker 7: him Evan, good job, great job, love your analysis, and
- 55:57Speaker 7: all right, comment and like the last question, but uh
- 56:03Speaker 7: so I'm going to say that Patrick Mahomes is probably
- 56:06Speaker 7: like the NFL's version of Michael Jordan's. So that's my
- 56:12Speaker 7: comment there. I mean, I just think he's unstoppable. I mean,
- 56:14Speaker 7: we're just watching greatness right now. I'm not saying he's.
- 56:17Speaker 1: A goat, but you know he's on the track. He's
- 56:20Speaker 1: on the track.
- 56:20Speaker 7: That's kind a great track. Yeah. My next question is,
- 56:24Speaker 7: I know you guys have mentioned like Joe Flacco and
- 56:27Speaker 7: uh Jacoby Brissett, but like if we were to have
- 56:31Speaker 7: a bridge quarterback going into next year, like what are
- 56:33Speaker 7: like two or three options free agent quarterbacks that you
- 56:36Speaker 7: guys would like.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Okay, good question, Thank thank you, Ricky. Like mentioned Jacoby,
- 56:44Speaker 1: I'd rather have Gardner Minshew, I think he makes more plays.
- 56:50Speaker 8: I guess it depends on your definition of bridge court.
- 56:52Speaker 1: Yeah, like like Russell Wilson's going to be available, yeah,
- 56:55Speaker 1: but he's I'm not paying him.
- 56:57Speaker 6: Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins will be availed.
- 57:00Speaker 1: He's going to be available now. Yeah.
- 57:01Speaker 8: But I think the real question if you want to
- 57:05Speaker 8: go different direction and veteran quarterback is if do you
- 57:08Speaker 8: want Justin Fields? Like Justin Fields is the one guy.
- 57:11Speaker 1: But see if I get Justin Fields, I'm hoping he
- 57:13Speaker 1: becomes the guy, right if I get Gardner Minshew, No,
- 57:17Speaker 1: he's just a He's just a you know, a seat filler.
- 57:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:21Speaker 8: I mean I think that's the the real that unless
- 57:25Speaker 8: Arizona makes Kyler Murray available, which I don't think they will,
- 57:29Speaker 8: that's really this the sticking point is do you believe
- 57:32Speaker 8: that Justin Fields was Baker Mayfield? He was you know,
- 57:35Speaker 8: misused or on teams that weren't you know, good for him,
- 57:39Speaker 8: and Chicago wasn't good for him, And then he goes
- 57:42Speaker 8: someplace else and he can all of a sudden turn
- 57:44Speaker 8: it around and be a playoff caliber quarterback.
- 57:46Speaker 6: I don't but like that you might.
- 57:49Speaker 5: That sounds like Pittsburgh's interested in him, at least that's
- 57:52Speaker 5: going around right now. Tom likes him, and yeah, it's
- 57:56Speaker 5: I'm more on the Gardner Minshew, get a temp guy.
- 57:59Speaker 5: You know, you want to tempt a temp, not a bridge.
- 58:02Speaker 5: And you know, if you're gonna get Justin Fields, you're saying,
- 58:05Speaker 5: we're gonna build around this guy, and we think that
- 58:07Speaker 5: this guy can take us back to the top of
- 58:09Speaker 5: the afcast.
- 58:09Speaker 6: And it's hard to sell we're going to acquire Justin
- 58:12Speaker 6: Fields and draft Jaden Daniels or Drake May. Yeah, it's hard,
- 58:16Speaker 6: you know. So now, yeah, that's two draft picks to
- 58:21Speaker 6: get two quarterbacks.
- 58:22Speaker 1: And you're trying to develop two guys because I think
- 58:25Speaker 1: Justin Field still needs to be developed. Like, how much
- 58:27Speaker 1: time do you spend with each of these guys?
- 58:29Speaker 8: If you the Justin Fields trade would be like thirty
- 58:32Speaker 8: four and then maybe some something else for Justin Fields,
- 58:37Speaker 8: and then.
- 58:37Speaker 6: You're only because you're so high in the draft. You know.
- 58:42Speaker 6: Schefter went on TV the other day and said it
- 58:44Speaker 6: thinks that they can get thinks that Belichick is coaching
- 58:46Speaker 6: the Chiefs. Well, if you get it first, they could
- 58:49Speaker 6: get it first.
- 58:49Speaker 4: Just keep them, Like.
- 58:50Speaker 8: What I just I think you're gonna have to give
- 58:53Speaker 8: up something. I think there are gonna be suitors and
- 58:55Speaker 8: then you're gonna have to give up something. So you're
- 58:57Speaker 8: hoping that you're gonna take Justin Fields with your second
- 59:00Speaker 8: pick or third round pick, and then it's Marvin Harrison
- 59:03Speaker 8: Junior and Justin Fields or it's Joe Walton Justin Fields
- 59:06Speaker 8: and and is that better than Jaden Daniels and whichever
- 59:09Speaker 8: tackle you get in the second round, Like I don't know,
- 59:12Speaker 8: just a.
- 59:12Speaker 5: Quick aside, like and this kind of just came to me,
- 59:15Speaker 5: but like if Pittsburgh really does consider something like, credit
- 59:17Speaker 5: to them, because that's what the Patriots should have done
- 59:19Speaker 5: last year instead of like, hey, we got a first
- 59:21Speaker 5: round pick and you know, cut bait Kenny. You know
- 59:24Speaker 5: he was more and more down than up. But you
- 59:25Speaker 5: know there was a little bit of a positivity there.
- 59:27Speaker 6: But you know, if you pick it was better than
- 59:29Speaker 6: Mac Jones the last two years. Yeah, but now I agree,
- 59:33Speaker 6: but they're still but I'm trying to bash Mike's point. Yeah, no, I.
- 59:38Speaker 5: Know, Like that's I mean, of all the failings that
- 59:40Speaker 5: you know, we talked about, like why did we roll
- 59:42Speaker 5: into this year if you didn't believe in any of
- 59:44Speaker 5: these quarterbacks?
- 59:45Speaker 6: You know? And I think that's what Tom was saying, like,
- 59:47Speaker 6: I don't, in my heart of hearts believe in this guy.
- 59:49Speaker 5: So we have you don't believe in the team's not
- 59:51Speaker 5: going to believe Jaen Bentley's not going to believe in
- 59:53Speaker 5: him if you know the people on the outside watching
- 59:55Speaker 5: don't believe in him.
- 59:56Speaker 1: Let's go to Eldred in North Carolina. Hey, Eldred, Hey
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: fellas aw y'all doing it all right?
- 1:00:03Speaker 16: Evan, I feel your pain because I'm feeling the same way.
- 1:00:05Speaker 17: I hope Kyle.
- 1:00:06Speaker 16: Would do it.
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: But a couple of days, I.
- 1:00:10Speaker 16: Like, yeah, yeah, but my thing is.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: To put his flat brim hat on and tries to
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: make the best of him.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:18Speaker 16: But that time when I saw when Brady my Homes
- 1:00:24Speaker 16: in the AFT Championship and when they were doing uh
- 1:00:27Speaker 16: you know, that trophy stuff on their field, and he
- 1:00:31Speaker 16: was up there looking, he looked, and he studied, and
- 1:00:34Speaker 16: I'm like, darn, we're gonna have trouble out him. But
- 1:00:36Speaker 16: I didn't think it'd be just great, this bad. You know,
- 1:00:40Speaker 16: I never thought that.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Well, listen, if the Patriots hadn't gotten the ball first
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: and overtime, Kansas City would have won that game probably
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: oh yeah, no, no way. But neither.
- 1:00:53Speaker 10: Thinking like that.
- 1:00:54Speaker 16: But my best commercial was the Verison one. When they
- 1:01:00Speaker 16: shut it down and.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Couldn't she looked good?
- 1:01:04Speaker 16: I have to say, well, y'all have a good all.
- 1:01:05Speaker 8: I had to say, all right, Also your target demographic, let's.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Go to John and Louisiana. Hey, John, nothing gets by you.
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: Nice fred Ah.
- 1:01:19Speaker 17: Okay, by a question, people saying about the Patrick Mahomes
- 1:01:24Speaker 17: and the gold thing, So whenever Tom Brady was kind
- 1:01:27Speaker 17: of getting to that point, they was saying he needs
- 1:01:29Speaker 17: to pass Joe Montana first. I wonder, from your perspective,
- 1:01:33Speaker 17: why are people trying to put him up there with
- 1:01:35Speaker 17: the Tom Brady stuff when they were trying to tell
- 1:01:37Speaker 17: Tom Brady needs to patch Joe Montanda before then.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: So, in other words, has Mahomes passed Joe Montana? Is
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: that what you're saying?
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: He's saying that, he's saying that. People didn't say Brady
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: was better than Montana until he passed him, which we
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: already proved that didn't have Yeah, No.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: I think I mean I I distinctly remember people starting
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: to talk talk about him as the goat after once
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: the dynasty was established.
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: I think if you're asking, and this is something I
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: think that is very worthy of debate, Like the most
- 1:02:10Speaker 6: accomplished quarterback of all time is going to be Brady.
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: That doesn't mean he's the best. Now. I happen to
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: think he's the best, but that doesn't mean I'm right.
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: I don't have to be right all the time, even
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: though I play that on TV. I think you can
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: watch guys and how many times have I told you
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: Fred my favorite quarterback to watching, The guy I thought
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: was the best was John Elway. He only had two
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: and you got him very late in his career, but
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: I saw him carry moribund teams to the super Bowl
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: throughout the eighties by himself with an incredible set of skills.
- 1:02:44Speaker 6: Like I think you can have a logical argument. You
- 1:02:47Speaker 6: don't know if it's just about who won the most,
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: why do you need to analyze it. There's a record
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: book that tells you who has the most. Why are
- 1:02:56Speaker 6: we arguing? No, there's no argument. One guy has seven titles.
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: You don't think there's anybody you know that why no
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: one else has seven? The next closest is four.
- 1:03:07Speaker 17: I feel like this, do you think it's because of
- 1:03:10Speaker 17: him winning?
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: I think.
- 1:03:15Speaker 6: How about how he's played?
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Like what he's doing hadn't you know, what Brady
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: did had never been done like the you know, doing
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: it so fast, you know, and and now Mahomes is
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: doing it too, So I find it only natural that
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: you start drawing these comparisons.
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: And Mahomes is winning titles his first three the way
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: Brady's last three were. Yeah, like you strap on the
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: team on his back and let him go. Like, that's
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: not how Brady won his first three, right, Yeah, I
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: think that that.
- 1:03:45Speaker 8: It's to Paul's point, and I think with Brady, even
- 1:03:47Speaker 8: in his peak, like had this a little bit with
- 1:03:49Speaker 8: Aaron Rodgers when Aaron Rodgers was winning m vps, it's
- 1:03:51Speaker 8: that when you watch it, it's more aesthetically impressive.
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: Well, watching an argument that Aaron Rodgers is a better
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: quarterback than the the other guys. Now, to me, the
- 1:04:01Speaker 6: difference is I can stretch it and say, well, this
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: guy won five, that guy won seven, But I think
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: the guy who won five is better. I have a
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: hard time with the guy who only won one. Same Marina.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: But also remember when Mahomes came in the league, he
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: was doing things in a way that we kind of
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: hadn't seen yet, like you know, the different arm angles
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: and the slots that he was throwing it on the
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: run and just making things happen. He was a magician,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: no look past.
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: With all the intangibles that Brady had, right, you know,
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: winner clutch, right.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: So he was he was doing everything Brady did, but
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: also with this wild athleticism and so and he's continuing
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: to do it. So I have no problem people saying
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: if he keeps on this track, he will be the greatest.
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: And Brady separated with his longevity, right.
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: I mean, it just sounds crazy right now to think, like,
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: imagine Patrick Mohan's twenty.
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: Thirty eight than a un title, like just that time frame.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: Let me just say, it's insane, like it could happen
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: but just fifteen years from now, it's right.
- 1:04:58Speaker 6: I was talking about this a little bit on Sunday, like,
- 1:05:01Speaker 6: so he just won his third yes or no, Well,
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: Patrick Mahomes win a super Bowl in the next ten years.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Yes, Yeah, I.
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: Mean don't you have to think odds are that he will.
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: Brady then went ten years without winning one. Yeah, through
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: no fault of his that's true. I mean so like
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: to say that, like they don't deserve to have a
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: conversation about this. Yeah, And that's the thing.
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: That like, you know, not to be the snody Patriots fan,
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: but it's like you realize how hard it is, like
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: and how you know, first what first quarter of two
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: thousand and eight gone for the season.
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: Every year between four and fourteen, with the exception of
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: oh eight when he got hurt, they had a chance
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: to win ball. And Patrick Mahomes will if he is healthy,
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: as Fred said at the start of the show, they
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: will have a chance every year as long as he
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: is healthy.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: The question doesn't mean he'll win him.
- 1:05:52Speaker 8: The question is, though, is and we were talking about
- 1:05:55Speaker 8: this a little bit upstairs, his Patrick Mahomes' window is
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: twenty years right, like it will be? Is that Andy
- 1:06:01Speaker 8: Reid's window, Like how much longer is that gonna go?
- 1:06:03Speaker 8: With Travis Kelsey's window, So that at some.
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: Point I'm just saying Kelsey might not come back next year.
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: Their star power outside of Patrick Mahomes, they'll have to
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: turn it over like and Chris John worry.
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: About Andy Reid. I don't worry about Kelsey kell figure
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: it out.
- 1:06:17Speaker 8: Kelsey, you know, I don't know. But but Chris Jones,
- 1:06:20Speaker 8: like he's gonna potentially in some place the people.
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, and he'll have a year like six where
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: which I kind of think they just had, where they'll
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: have to go on the road and upset a couple
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: of teams and yeah, you know, and then they'll have
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: other years with those guys that replace Chris Jones and
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: Kelsey are now when they're prime, and they'll be like seven.
- 1:06:44Speaker 8: I think that was what separated the Patriots from anything
- 1:06:47Speaker 8: else we had ever seen, though, is that Brady won
- 1:06:49Speaker 8: with like different nucleuses everything.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: Yea, and I Mahome still hasn't.
- 1:06:53Speaker 8: Yes, he didn't have Tyreek Hill anymore, but he still
- 1:06:56Speaker 8: hasn't quite had to win it with a different nucleus.
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: I'm not saying he won't.
- 1:07:00Speaker 8: I'm just saying, you know, that's the longevity that Brady has.
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: Let's say, let's see and the other thing I would
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: say about Mahomes, you know, against the longevity is will
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: he be the same if he can no longer do
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: what he does with his legs. Yeah right, because at
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: some point that's gonna go.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: All right. Paul's foods here. But Bridgestone is the official

- 1:14:58Speaker 19: As I think back over the past few seasons, I
- 1:15:02Speaker 19: wanted to thank my most trusted game day teammate, Toastitos.
- 1:15:07Speaker 19: As I recall the last minute grocery runs in late
- 1:15:10Speaker 19: night dishwashing, the salty defeats and spicy victories, I realize
- 1:15:16Speaker 19: it was all thanks to my teammate, Tostitos.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: It was always you, Toastitos.
- 1:15:24Speaker 19: Team up with Toastitos, the official chip and dip of
- 1:15:27Speaker 19: the New England Patriots.
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: And now great moments in.
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: History.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: Back in the day, when Eric was still a mediator,
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: we went to Arthur's and he wanted to get a
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: steak while done, and I objected.
- 1:15:43Speaker 6: He did, I objected, He voiced an opposition that's ridiculous.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: Yes, told the servers that don't you dare, don't you
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: dare bring him a coked steak.
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: About five minutes later.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: He doesn't need a good cut, is what I'm saying.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: You don't need to waste the money someone who's gonna
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: have you all done.
- 1:16:02Speaker 6: It was because you don't like to it'll taste the same,
- 1:16:06Speaker 6: is what I'm saying.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: He won't even know the difference.
- 1:16:08Speaker 6: Of course, you know the different street cuts of meat.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: Not when you do it well done, not when you
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: cook it well done.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: Just give him a hook.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: It loses, it loses.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: All its flavorin that's another great moment from.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: All right back here and Patriots on filters give eight
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: five five Passive is the ace ticket hotline. I just
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: want to remind people we talked about at the top
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: of the show. This Friday, Patriots Dynasty, the Dynasty Apple
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: TV plus dropping the first two episodes and we will
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: be dropping our first episode of the wrap up show.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: And what's the name. It's Patriots Dynasty dot recap show.
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: Yeah, starring members of So we'll be listen, don't mark
- 1:16:59Speaker 6: what you do.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: So we'll be wrapping up every episode for the next
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: five weeks because Apple's dropping two episodes a week, and
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: so we'll be doing the same only one episode.
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: Can I do a little tease, just a little teas.
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: I'm not going to give anything away, but I just
- 1:17:15Speaker 5: I found it interesting. This isn't just like and here
- 1:17:17Speaker 5: was two thousand and one championship season and here was
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: two It's it's much more back and.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Forth, and there's more storytelling.
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: There's not it's not divided up just like and then
- 1:17:27Speaker 5: they won that championship. You know, it's right, a lot
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: more back and forth and some things are combined.
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: So it's just it's a unique look.
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: And I mean the way I said it was as
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: a Patriots fan and somebody who lived through it, I
- 1:17:37Speaker 5: would frame it a certain way. But Apple and these
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: producers in the book, and they're going to frame it
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: a different way. And that's you know, it's an external
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: kind of perspective on the dynasty, which I know, and
- 1:17:46Speaker 5: we were.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Talking about it during the break, you know, whether it's
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: the interviews that were done you know for this or
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: some of the footage. There's a lot of stuff you've
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: never seen before or heard. So that's cool, yeah, you know,
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: because you know, think about it, we produced a lot
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: of content, the Three Games to Glories, the America's teams,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: you know, all the stuff that we do on a
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: daily basis. But believe it or not, there's a lot
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: of stuff that you've never seen that you're going to
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: see in this thing.
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: Like some of my general just favorite parts of it.
- 1:18:17Speaker 5: It's just kind of the wide b roll of you know,
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: here they are in the locker room, and you know,
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: you just you see everybody you know, and you know
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: that they're in the middle of this crazy run whatever
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: you know, episode or scene it was. But you know,
- 1:18:28Speaker 5: it's just like kind of those little moments where you're
- 1:18:30Speaker 5: looking in at history and you don't they don't really
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: realize at that time that there's any history going on.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: You don't realize that, oh, these are three Hall of
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: Famers right here. You know, those kind of things we
- 1:18:38Speaker 5: were cool. You know that, like all that extra footage
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: that all.
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: Of a sudden is dug up.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: It's it's, yeah, the best good stuff. So I can't
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: wait for that on Friday. All right, eight five five
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: pats five hundred is the ace ticket hutline phones continue
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: to ring. We'll go to Ethan and Western. Oh I
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: just knocked Ethan. I was like, call back, Ethan callback
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: Western Connecticut. We'll get you right back on Sean and
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: can supply Western Kentucky, not Connecticut. Sean's in Connecticut. What's up? Sean?
- 1:19:11Speaker 6: Hi?
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Hi, Sean, Hey Sean.
- 1:19:13Speaker 9: So the way I see it is that the Bears
- 1:19:15Speaker 9: are going to get Cale Williams because there's no upside
- 1:19:18Speaker 9: to keeping fields and then the Commanders probably get Drake Meg.
- 1:19:22Speaker 9: Now the Pats have four options, doing Jane Daniels, Marvin
- 1:19:26Speaker 9: Harrison Junior Joe All, or trading down. I think that
- 1:19:30Speaker 9: getting like a possible generational talent in Harrison All is
- 1:19:34Speaker 9: better than the third quarterback who isn't really a scheme fit.
- 1:19:38Speaker 9: But this is a deep class from wide receiver and tackle.
- 1:19:41Speaker 9: The trading down to eightish and picking maybe like the
- 1:19:43Speaker 9: second or third wider receiver and tackle hopefully second. Yeah,
- 1:19:48Speaker 9: like pulling a Bears and getting in a lot of picks,
- 1:19:51Speaker 9: Like getting a lot of picks from a downward trend
- 1:19:54Speaker 9: to gain is probably my best FINI right now.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, you got it well thought off.
- 1:19:58Speaker 6: That's awesome though, no school today, Sean. He thought it
- 1:20:02Speaker 6: was like it was like I was like, I don't
- 1:20:04Speaker 6: even lie, tell me you did have a tear in
- 1:20:06Speaker 6: your eye.
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: I'm like, is this Evan from the ninetees?
- 1:20:08Speaker 6: Wait a second, that was twelve year old? That is?
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: That was he?
- 1:20:14Speaker 8: You know, you're at the bar and you're telling these
- 1:20:16Speaker 8: adults that they're wrong, and then.
- 1:20:19Speaker 6: This kid I gotta go call into a show wrong. Yeah,
- 1:20:22Speaker 6: nice job though, that was I think he's I think
- 1:20:25Speaker 6: he mapped out four options right now.
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: It's a little intriguing just if they could try trade
- 1:20:30Speaker 5: down to like six, you know, or just a couple
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: of spots, like still get altered for Sean, you know,
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: get one of these guys still in there.
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: Yeah, Nabors, I heard he's really good. Yeah, we were
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: kind of we were kind of fanning out of the guys.
- 1:20:43Speaker 4: God good, neighbors. Don't worry, don't call it. Don't at me.
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: We know it's neighbors.
- 1:20:48Speaker 6: It's an inside joke. Everybody built. Still.
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: But even like Daniels, do you think Daniels, Is there
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: any world that that Daniels You can get Daniels at
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: like sixn.
- 1:20:55Speaker 8: It's interesting because you know, reading a lot of these
- 1:20:58Speaker 8: like big boards that are coming out, Daniel, Jeremy Maya,
- 1:21:00Speaker 8: David Brugler, they all have Daniels eight, you know, in
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: that like five to ten range. But he's a quarterback, right,
- 1:21:07Speaker 8: so that's gonna prop him up. But you know, justin
- 1:21:09Speaker 8: Fields went ten, and I don't think anybody really thought
- 1:21:13Speaker 8: he would follow that.
- 1:21:14Speaker 6: If there's no trades, he could go eight. But if
- 1:21:17Speaker 6: someone's going to trade with you, they're going for that
- 1:21:19Speaker 6: they're trading for that.
- 1:21:21Speaker 8: I think it just kind of shows that there's so
- 1:21:22Speaker 8: much process in a lot of ways still to go,
- 1:21:25Speaker 8: where like a lot of those guys you know that
- 1:21:28Speaker 8: do end up slipping a little bit slip because of
- 1:21:30Speaker 8: what happens now where you know, the interviews and the
- 1:21:33Speaker 8: combine and like pro days and like all.
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: That kind of stuff.
- 1:21:37Speaker 8: It's the film is a film like that's that's already
- 1:21:40Speaker 8: established and out.
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: There answering questions right right now.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: It's exactly the only thing you know, And Sean had
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: that was an excellent call, Sean. But you know he says,
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: you're not gonna take Daniels because he's not a scheme fit. Well,
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: that's if Alex van Pelt is going to do the
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: same offense that he's done in the past. But if
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: you love Jayden Daniels, you're gonna change your scheme.
- 1:22:03Speaker 6: You know, I just would.
- 1:22:04Speaker 8: I'm so nervous to become a different guy, like I
- 1:22:08Speaker 8: went back to Matt Patricia.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: No, but if you think this guy is going to
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: be great, then adjust your scheme.
- 1:22:15Speaker 8: If he's going to be great, then he's probably gonna
- 1:22:18Speaker 8: be good no matter what scheme. Really, at the end,
- 1:22:20Speaker 8: of the day.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: Well, you want to play to his strike.
- 1:22:22Speaker 8: But I think the problem with Daniels, and this is
- 1:22:24Speaker 8: what I would say what the Bears did wrong, is
- 1:22:27Speaker 8: that he needs I think Daniels needs to be in
- 1:22:30Speaker 8: a water down offense to start and then slowly build
- 1:22:33Speaker 8: up to something more complex and sophisticated down the road.
- 1:22:37Speaker 8: Whereas the Bears just took justin fields and they didn't
- 1:22:41Speaker 8: highlight his mobility, they didn't put him in an option spread.
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: It is after the game here.
- 1:22:45Speaker 8: Yeah, they didn't do any of those types of things,
- 1:22:47Speaker 8: and they just try to turn him into like a
- 1:22:49Speaker 8: traditional who's.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Better coming out Lamar Jackson or Jaden Daniels.
- 1:22:53Speaker 8: Jaden Daniels but better in the respect that he's further
- 1:22:58Speaker 8: along as a passer than Lamar Jackson was. But because
- 1:23:00Speaker 8: we're half a decade removed from Lamar Jackson, like they've evolved,
- 1:23:05Speaker 8: you know, how they developed these guys and how you
- 1:23:08Speaker 8: use these guys. Lamar was definitely a better runner, Like
- 1:23:11Speaker 8: Lamar is the best runner I've ever seen in college.
- 1:23:14Speaker 6: So he was dotter than Michael Vick.
- 1:23:16Speaker 8: Yes, he was definitely better as a runner, But Jaden
- 1:23:20Speaker 8: Daniel is definitely better as a passer.
- 1:23:23Speaker 6: I just don't like the idea of making Alex man
- 1:23:27Speaker 6: Pelt implement a system that he doesn't know. I don't
- 1:23:30Speaker 6: want it that.
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: I don't want that.
- 1:23:32Speaker 6: That's what I think that Jaden Daniels. I mean it.
- 1:23:39Speaker 6: If he can't play in a facsimile of the West
- 1:23:42Speaker 6: Coast offense, then I don't want them because that's kind
- 1:23:44Speaker 6: of like what the principles of virtually every system has now.
- 1:23:48Speaker 6: So if you just look at him and say, well,
- 1:23:50Speaker 6: he can't do that, no, I don't think he can't.
- 1:23:52Speaker 6: Before the guy from New York right tool because Arthur, Yeah,
- 1:23:57Speaker 6: I think he can do some of these things. I
- 1:24:00Speaker 6: don't think you'll have to do this. I'm saying, if
- 1:24:02Speaker 6: you decide Jayden Daniels isn't a fit for way Alex
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: van Pelt, I don't want Alex van Pelt implementing a
- 1:24:09Speaker 6: system he doesn't know. Yeah, well, isn't comfortable with at
- 1:24:12Speaker 6: the very least maybe he knows it.
- 1:24:14Speaker 8: But yeah, I mean, I think there's a point where
- 1:24:16Speaker 8: Jayden Daniels could be able to execute like what has
- 1:24:19Speaker 8: been the core concepts of the Alex van Pelt offense.
- 1:24:23Speaker 8: I just think right out of the gate. If you're
- 1:24:24Speaker 8: going to play him right away, going back to that
- 1:24:26Speaker 8: whole thing, then it's better to put him in a
- 1:24:30Speaker 8: Lamar Jackson ish you know, maybe the Philadelphia Eagles ish
- 1:24:34Speaker 8: type of offense that is a little bit more quarterback
- 1:24:38Speaker 8: run heavy and a little bit more simplified in the
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: passing game, and that's gonna be what's best for his development.
- 1:24:44Speaker 6: And that's where you're catering some stuff to his skills. Fred, Yeah,
- 1:24:47Speaker 6: to get you your world you have best of both worlds. Now.
- 1:24:51Speaker 5: One more draft thing too, is like the existence of
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: neighbors and the dunes that kind of makes it hard
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: to think that any team is really gonna want to
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: come up to three for Harrison. You know, there's probably
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: teams that, you know what I mean, like they're gonna
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: be like, what's gonna happen? We're fine, you know, like
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: it's it's it's it's.
- 1:25:06Speaker 6: Tough if you make a move up from like eight
- 1:25:08Speaker 6: to three. I gotta think you're one of those teams
- 1:25:11Speaker 6: like the Falcons or the you know, the Vikings that
- 1:25:14Speaker 6: looks for a quarterback. Yeah, I don't know. I'm just
- 1:25:17Speaker 6: using the same thing with the tackles too.
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: Nobody's you know, nobody's probably gonna trade up to get all.
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: They're gonna sit and wait.
- 1:25:22Speaker 8: You know, yeah, you look at the Neighbors is definitely
- 1:25:28Speaker 8: starting to get some traction of how big is that
- 1:25:32Speaker 8: gap really between him and Marvin Harrison Junior. And there's
- 1:25:35Speaker 8: no doubt that Marvin Harrison Junior is the best, most
- 1:25:38Speaker 8: well rounded, complete pass I told you I.
- 1:25:40Speaker 6: Read that thing on the Senable Recap kind of thing
- 1:25:44Speaker 6: where there were a couple of guys that said personnel people,
- 1:25:49Speaker 6: some of them have Neighbors ahead of Harrison. I'm not
- 1:25:51Speaker 6: telling you they're right. Yeah, I'm just saying, if Harrison
- 1:25:55Speaker 6: is this once a generational player, then there's nobody in
- 1:25:59Speaker 6: the NFL who who thinks that another guy is the
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: better receiver.
- 1:26:02Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: Will Dane Brugler put out his uh, his top guys,
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: and he has Harrison and Neighbors two three in the
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: draft two three above them.
- 1:26:10Speaker 8: May I just think it depends on what you want.
- 1:26:11Speaker 8: You know, we were also talking about this before. Neighbors
- 1:26:14Speaker 8: has a superpower like his speed and his acceleration is
- 1:26:17Speaker 8: a superpower. I don't know if Marvin Harrison Junior necessarily
- 1:26:21Speaker 8: has an elite trade that's on that level. But he's
- 1:26:24Speaker 8: just a more complete, well rounded receiver. He does more
- 1:26:27Speaker 8: things well.
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: Just general athleticism.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: Yeah, Ethan and Western Kentucky called back. I'm sorry about that, Ethan.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: What's up, Kentucky.
- 1:26:35Speaker 20: It's all right, Paul, just bod me tickets to the season.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: Call it even okay? Well, sorry, but you still ow me.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: I still ow you.
- 1:26:43Speaker 20: Rookie quarterback on Balu, I think this might be agay,
- 1:26:48Speaker 20: but it's the most situational position in the league. If
- 1:26:52Speaker 20: you put a kid on this roster that we have
- 1:26:54Speaker 20: right now, you're thrown into the wolves. And you guys
- 1:26:56Speaker 20: know that. Everybody knows that unless you can find a
- 1:26:59Speaker 20: great one. And in my opinion, there's my gray line
- 1:27:02Speaker 20: talking Brady Mahmes. Y'all touched on Lway earlier, but New
- 1:27:06Speaker 20: Splash like, you're not gonna be able to find that
- 1:27:07Speaker 20: in the draft unless you just sit a diamond in
- 1:27:09Speaker 20: the rug.
- 1:27:11Speaker 6: If you drafted CJ. Stroud last year at too.
- 1:27:15Speaker 20: Could might be a great one. I mean, it's tooughly
- 1:27:17Speaker 20: to tell. But on top of that, though they get
- 1:27:18Speaker 20: a way better.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: Roster than we do.
- 1:27:21Speaker 20: There's more weapons there, they got a better defense, and
- 1:27:24Speaker 20: they weren't in my opinion, as bad coming into that
- 1:27:26Speaker 20: draft as we are. But regardless of the point is,
- 1:27:30Speaker 20: regardless of whatever, I'm all over the place. But if
- 1:27:33Speaker 20: you don't have somebody like my Homes or someone like Brady,
- 1:27:36Speaker 20: you're not gonna go to go toe to hoe with
- 1:27:37Speaker 20: my Homes. So as far as finding a quarterback and
- 1:27:41Speaker 20: free agency or waiting around for the second or third round, not.
- 1:27:44Speaker 21: To say that Drake may Kle Williams are those guys, but.
- 1:27:47Speaker 20: In my opinion, you just can't let it go the
- 1:27:49Speaker 20: boat going down the river, like you have to get
- 1:27:51Speaker 20: somebody that in your head can carry a bad roster,
- 1:27:55Speaker 20: go to toe to toe with my Homes or toe
- 1:27:56Speaker 20: totoe with whoever it is, and win football games for
- 1:27:59Speaker 20: the matter.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: Well that's the thing though, I mean then it's hopeless
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: because I mean, you're not going to find somebody that
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: you know in the foreseeablet you can't say no, I know,
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: but like, but what I'm saying is, if that's the criteria,
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: I know, I know, it's it's we're in a tough
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: spot because you're not going to find a quarterback that
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: you go to you're gonna have. Yeah, I mean san
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: Francisco was it. Yeah, San Francisco was an eyelash away
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: from winning that game.
- 1:28:28Speaker 6: So it's you.
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: Don't have to have a bit no, I understand, I understand,
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: but it's not.
- 1:28:34Speaker 6: But let's not overreact the other way now. And it's
- 1:28:37Speaker 6: like it's it's whole than it's unwinnable. The game was
- 1:28:41Speaker 6: winnable for San Francisco. Like I'll like, nobody's snarkier than me.
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: As we all know, I love to take shots at
- 1:28:47Speaker 6: your boy, Shanahan. Shanahan built a team that was every
- 1:28:50Speaker 6: bit is capable of winning those two Super Bowls that
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: he lost to Mahomes. They easily could have won both games.
- 1:28:56Speaker 6: They didn't just lose because Mahomes is that great like that.
- 1:29:00Speaker 6: I'm not dismissing that part. But don't tell me that
- 1:29:04Speaker 6: you don't have a chance to win.
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: Right because if that's the case.
- 1:29:09Speaker 6: Year right, you know, just like Brady would have won
- 1:29:11Speaker 6: twenty three instead of only six, right, I think he
- 1:29:14Speaker 6: was the Patriots.
- 1:29:15Speaker 8: The part that I think you know dies with Kyle
- 1:29:18Speaker 8: Shanahan a little bit is this idea that you can
- 1:29:21Speaker 8: build the roster up around the mediocre quarterback and still
- 1:29:25Speaker 8: be good enough, Like I I think the Niners are
- 1:29:28Speaker 8: as close as you could possibly be to that, Like
- 1:29:30Speaker 8: they are basically one hundred percent there of a loaded
- 1:29:35Speaker 8: roster with a good enough quarterback that he's not was.
- 1:29:38Speaker 6: It QB neutral or yeah, I don't like using.
- 1:29:41Speaker 8: That, but that they're the closest thing to it, and
- 1:29:47Speaker 8: it's still wasn't enough. So like, if that's your approach,
- 1:29:52Speaker 8: if that's your idea, is that we're going to be
- 1:29:54Speaker 8: the Niners and we're gonna have this stacked ross. Now
- 1:29:57Speaker 8: maybe you get the clutch moments and maybe you'd get
- 1:29:59Speaker 8: the back and it puts you over the top.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: What if you have a quarterback who's a little bit
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: better than perty.
- 1:30:05Speaker 6: Well, I would just I would argue that category. And
- 1:30:08Speaker 6: you know that I am not a big fan of Oh,
- 1:30:10Speaker 6: just do what San Francisco did, Like you can just
- 1:30:12Speaker 6: snap your fingers and draft you know, seven all pros
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: over a span of four years. But let's let's just
- 1:30:18Speaker 6: say that I'm not a big fan of that theory. Okay,
- 1:30:22Speaker 6: but if I were, if I'm if I'm Alex and
- 1:30:25Speaker 6: I and I know, like the last thing he said
- 1:30:27Speaker 6: on your catch twenty two last week was I'm rooting
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: for my take. I'm rooting for the I want to
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: show that you can win with a QB neutrals. That
- 1:30:34Speaker 6: what he called it, like that something like that, that
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: neutral quarterback new take. If I were if I were Alex,
- 1:30:42Speaker 6: not because I'm trying to be stubborn, but I would say, well,
- 1:30:44Speaker 6: I haven't been proven wrong like that game. Seriously, like
- 1:30:50Speaker 6: they could have won that game. I disagree with Alex.
- 1:30:52Speaker 6: You guys all know how I stand on this, But
- 1:30:53Speaker 6: I'm just saying, if I was on the other side,
- 1:30:56Speaker 6: nothing that happened Sunday would tell me I was wrong. Right.
- 1:30:59Speaker 6: They the games in overtime like anybody can win it.
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: I understand what happened. I understand mahomes Is greatness won out,
- 1:31:07Speaker 6: But don't tell me that they didn't have a chance
- 1:31:09Speaker 6: to win that game if they didn't play better.
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: You had the dad over the vampire's chest and you
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: just didn't put it.
- 1:31:16Speaker 8: But that's the point to pay a devil's advocate, is
- 1:31:19Speaker 8: just that you're not going to get a better roster
- 1:31:22Speaker 8: than the Niners.
- 1:31:23Speaker 6: Like it's it's pretty again in this theory, like there
- 1:31:26Speaker 6: is a couple of teams that did it that way.
- 1:31:28Speaker 6: I think the Eagles largely did it that way. They
- 1:31:30Speaker 6: pluck the quarterback into a really good roster.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: I think you can do it.
- 1:31:34Speaker 6: I think it's way harder to do that than it
- 1:31:37Speaker 6: is to do what Kansas City did.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: I I'm just saying, if if in order to win,
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: you have to have a quarterback who's as good as
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes, then that's it.
- 1:31:48Speaker 6: That's it. There's like three teams that could possibly compete
- 1:31:50Speaker 6: with them, and we'll see what happens.
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: Right, But from like a Patriot's perspective, does it make you,
- 1:31:55Speaker 5: you know, kind of focus on a philosophy of just
- 1:31:57Speaker 5: take the quarterback. You got to just keep taking the
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: quarterback in the first round until you hit on it
- 1:32:01Speaker 5: because everything else doesn't really matter.
- 1:32:03Speaker 4: I mean, as much as we want to say they got.
- 1:32:05Speaker 6: It and you can't just chase it like that. But
- 1:32:09Speaker 6: you think, like taking Kenny Pickett, Like, if the Patriots
- 1:32:13Speaker 6: are taking three that year, would you take Kenny Pickett
- 1:32:16Speaker 6: at three.
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: Because of his gloves?
- 1:32:19Speaker 6: Well done right there?
- 1:32:21Speaker 11: I mean, I mean, but you know, I totally a
- 1:32:24Speaker 11: lot of people think next year is shaping up to
- 1:32:26Speaker 11: a Kenny Pickett year.
- 1:32:28Speaker 6: You know, maybe Shude or Sanders, maybe Quinn yours, but
- 1:32:30Speaker 6: I don't look at those guys as being anywhere near
- 1:32:33Speaker 6: Caleb Williams, Drake May and Jayden Daniels. Well you just
- 1:32:36Speaker 6: have the scuttle. But is that that next year someone
- 1:32:39Speaker 6: will come out and.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: Right, but you guys will have great seasons and it'll
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: just turn.
- 1:32:44Speaker 8: It'll just you know, the league doesn't top of the
- 1:32:46Speaker 8: league does not like the twenty twenty five quarterback class.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: That's that's the But they will after this season. Maybe
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: they have good year.
- 1:32:53Speaker 8: I mean a guy like Jayden Daniels was not considered
- 1:32:55Speaker 8: a top five pick.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: Joe Burrow wasn't either.
- 1:32:58Speaker 6: Then they had Joe Burrow was not anywhere near the
- 1:33:00Speaker 6: number one overall pick with you, but people thought he
- 1:33:03Speaker 6: was pretty good.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but he really proved it that last year.
- 1:33:06Speaker 8: And oh yeah, but Jaden Daniels is the poster child
- 1:33:09Speaker 8: for you know, he's probably like a mid day two
- 1:33:12Speaker 8: pick if he you know, came out last year and
- 1:33:15Speaker 8: this year now he could be the second overall pick.
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: Someone will do that, someone will come out of nowhere. Yeah,
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: happens every year.
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: I mean, isn't Anti Richardson the same way?
- 1:33:24Speaker 6: I mean he no, because he actually didn't play very well.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: That's right. It's the other way.
- 1:33:28Speaker 6: Lots of tools that he's too drafted on his tools
- 1:33:30Speaker 6: as toolsy tools. I like tools.
- 1:33:35Speaker 5: I just would you look at the three positions they
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: need and it's like there's always a bunch of wide receivers,
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: like I mean, there's you know, there's wide receivers into
- 1:33:40Speaker 5: round three that you're like, oh, I like this guy.
- 1:33:42Speaker 8: I mean I was Watchackles are Tackles today and they
- 1:33:45Speaker 8: Adie Mitchell and Xavier Worthy, the two Texas receivers are
- 1:33:49Speaker 8: next up on my list. Those guys can both play
- 1:33:51Speaker 8: and they're gonna be like they're going to be like
- 1:33:53Speaker 8: early day two picks.
- 1:33:54Speaker 5: So it's I guess it's not so much, you know, Paul,
- 1:33:56Speaker 5: you kind of expanded it out to you know, generally
- 1:33:59Speaker 5: like if you're a nineteen and then you got to
- 1:34:00Speaker 5: take Kenny Picket, but just specifically for the Patriots, where
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: it's you know, if you took him from just this
- 1:34:05Speaker 5: Super Bowl, it's kind of like just draft Daniels, like,
- 1:34:07Speaker 5: I mean, he's got the skills, maybe maybe he's got
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: some holes and maybe he got some.
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: I've gotten there. If any of those three are he's
- 1:34:14Speaker 6: the kind of guy you could take one of those.
- 1:34:17Speaker 6: I've kind of gotten there, you know, maybe I'll get
- 1:34:20Speaker 6: in brow beaten by is it Arthur?
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:34:23Speaker 6: Yeah, Yeah. About Daniels, I'm sort of coming more around.
- 1:34:27Speaker 6: I still think May would be the better choice, but
- 1:34:30Speaker 6: it's just.
- 1:34:30Speaker 5: Like, I mean, I think the thing with me is like,
- 1:34:33Speaker 5: at the end of the day, Daniels is still going
- 1:34:34Speaker 5: to be lightning fast and a super athlete and decent size.
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: I mean, he's, you know, skinny, but he's tall.
- 1:34:39Speaker 5: But then but he's got enough height that you're not
- 1:34:41Speaker 5: going to look at him out there and be like,
- 1:34:43Speaker 5: why is there a munchkin in the pocket?
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: You know. That's kind of like how I feel with
- 1:34:46Speaker 4: with Kyler.
- 1:34:46Speaker 8: Murray sometimes, you know, but I'm with you though you're
- 1:34:52Speaker 8: I'm highest in this draft when it comes to these quarterbacks,
- 1:34:54Speaker 8: Like I look at a guy that, you know, like
- 1:34:57Speaker 8: Bo Nicks or like Spencer Rattler who had a really
- 1:34:59Speaker 8: good wee he's six feet six to one, I'm out well.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: Purdy on Sunday, I mean, had two or three balls
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: batted down. If he's three inches taller, he gets that
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: ball over that hand. You know, it does make it
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: difference because Jeff in Canada, I'm want to get a
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: couple of emails in here. Don't lay blame on Shanahan
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: for the decision to start ot. It was the first
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: time in league history some of us had to make
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: that decision. Of course, when you know the outcome, it's
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: easy to say he's wrong.
- 1:35:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I didn't know the outcome, However, I said he
- 1:35:29Speaker 6: was wrong.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: Up to that point, the Chiefs had only scored one touchdown,
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: and that was on the punt mishap. If there was
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: one play that I think the forty nine ers would
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: really like a redo on, it would be the third
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: and four at the two minute warning. You run it
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: there and worst case is fourth down, but at least
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: the Chiefs have to burn a time out. Best case,
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: you get the first down and get to burn the
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: clock below thirty seconds and the Chiefs would have no timeout.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: Mike Listen, Shanahan struggles in big games, yet everyone wants
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: the Shanahan tree coach. Why is there never talk about
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: the Andy Reid tree. He only seems to shine in
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: big games. Maybe it's the same tree. Evan Purty gave
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: his team the lead four times in that game.
- 1:36:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I would agree by the way of his second
- 1:36:09Speaker 6: guess of the play call at the end there, Like,
- 1:36:12Speaker 6: I think that's a good call. I disagree with him
- 1:36:14Speaker 6: just blowing off. I don't think it took like in
- 1:36:18Speaker 6: depth research to say I think I would rather know
- 1:36:20Speaker 6: what I need. There's a reason in the college overtime
- 1:36:23Speaker 6: that the team that always chooses to go second. There's
- 1:36:27Speaker 6: a reason for it, and it's obvious. You get an
- 1:36:29Speaker 6: extra down, you know what you need, and you therefore
- 1:36:33Speaker 6: have four downs to work with.
- 1:36:35Speaker 8: I also just love I love how Andy Reid now
- 1:36:38Speaker 8: all of a sudden it's a big game coach, like
- 1:36:41Speaker 8: we just completely forgot.
- 1:36:42Speaker 6: I'm not this is gonna be funny to you, guys, coach.
- 1:36:48Speaker 6: He was one of the worst clock management guys ever
- 1:36:50Speaker 6: in Philadelphia. Okay, now everybody says, well, he's got my
- 1:36:54Speaker 6: homes now, so that's how Might he have always been
- 1:36:58Speaker 6: pretty good at it? Or maybe the guy was terrible
- 1:37:02Speaker 6: at it who was throwing up in the huddle and
- 1:37:04Speaker 6: in the Super Bowl, Like, I think the fact that
- 1:37:07Speaker 6: he dragged that guy to five conference championship games, including
- 1:37:11Speaker 6: four in a row, is an amazing accomplishment. Amazing. It's
- 1:37:15Speaker 6: like Rex Ryan did it with Mark Sanchez twice and
- 1:37:18Speaker 6: people were like, he did it five times with Donovan
- 1:37:23Speaker 6: McNabb is a pretty good coach. This is why I
- 1:37:27Speaker 6: like the clock management stuff. I know this is your
- 1:37:29Speaker 6: side of the street. Pause.
- 1:37:30Speaker 8: I'm not trying to come at you, because at the
- 1:37:34Speaker 8: end of the day, if the players on the field
- 1:37:36Speaker 8: decide the game, okay, So I couldn't agree with if
- 1:37:40Speaker 8: they ran the play at two two instead of had
- 1:37:44Speaker 8: to and this like and that's why I just can't.
- 1:37:47Speaker 8: It drives me nuts, Like it's like, okay, your clock
- 1:37:50Speaker 8: management school, I'm sorry. At the end of the day,
- 1:37:53Speaker 8: this guy made a play and that guy did it,
- 1:37:54Speaker 8: and that's why they want.
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: To be all saying that coaches can only lose you games.
- 1:37:58Speaker 8: There are certain situations like Dan Campbell the NFC Championship
- 1:38:01Speaker 8: game abhor it right, just horrible, But this Super Bowl
- 1:38:04Speaker 8: wasn't like that.
- 1:38:05Speaker 6: I don't think it was like that. I do agree
- 1:38:07Speaker 6: with his synopsis there though, because I think that the
- 1:38:11Speaker 6: best path for San Francisco winning the game I think
- 1:38:14Speaker 6: was in regulation melting the clock and kicking a game
- 1:38:17Speaker 6: winning field goal, and I don't think they were thinking
- 1:38:20Speaker 6: of it that way.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Ben in the truck rights. In amidst all
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: this scuttle but about Mahomes and the goat conversation, I'd
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: like to take a moment to remind everyone that Andy
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: called Mahomes a soccer player multiple times during that year's
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: draft show.
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: Yeah, soccer player, well done.
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: Where did he come up with that?
- 1:38:41Speaker 6: He saw?
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: Did he fallen?
- 1:38:44Speaker 6: Fake entry way? Do we do this the combine? Yeah? Yeah.
- 1:38:49Speaker 6: We watched guys at the podium and Andy used to
- 1:38:50Speaker 6: just make these blanket assumptions.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: Because he had the hair.
- 1:38:54Speaker 6: I think, no, he was. He was kind of small.
- 1:38:56Speaker 6: He was like, he looks like a soccer player, which
- 1:39:00Speaker 6: who knew at the time meant he's an immense athlete.
- 1:39:03Speaker 6: He could probably play anything. He's not even in great shape. Honestly,
- 1:39:07Speaker 6: you've got a dad boy running around there.
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: Ken's in New Jersey, Ken, Hey, Ken, Kenny kennon Jersey.
- 1:39:19Speaker 6: See the clip on It's like a TikTok clip or
- 1:39:22Speaker 6: something on. Some guy that does a great Homes impersonation
- 1:39:26Speaker 6: goes through the whole thing is like yeah, yeah, every
- 1:39:29Speaker 6: day you go, you know, and really it was everyone.
- 1:39:31Speaker 6: We could have done it without any of these guys.
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: Well maybe except for Canarius.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: Logan's in New York. What's up, Logan?
- 1:39:38Speaker 6: I thought it was in Boston, so my.
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 1:39:44Speaker 21: I think that Phoenix is worthy of being around the
- 1:39:49Speaker 21: top ten picks.
- 1:39:50Speaker 6: Because what's his name, Pennis Panis. I don't want to.
- 1:39:57Speaker 21: Yeah, I think he's worthy of being really pick. And
- 1:39:59Speaker 21: if you FLI down to the late first round, the
- 1:40:02Speaker 21: second round, we got to get them. And I would
- 1:40:05Speaker 21: consider taking Marvin four in Phoenix later, just because they
- 1:40:09Speaker 21: compliment each other so well, okay, with a deep receiver
- 1:40:13Speaker 21: and a great can be one on one.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: So Marvin at three because the Patriots have the third pick,
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: So you take Marvin at three. Starting school for children
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: to take Penix later.
- 1:40:22Speaker 8: When I was sick, I actually started this.
- 1:40:24Speaker 6: No school in New York today, Logan, Logan, I think
- 1:40:27Speaker 6: they're all in school. It is the kids.
- 1:40:30Speaker 8: They know the game these days they're calling, Look, I
- 1:40:33Speaker 8: agree with Penix can play. We all we all know
- 1:40:35Speaker 8: Pendix can play. And I don't think the championship game
- 1:40:38Speaker 8: like Michigan's defense just dominated and I don't really hold
- 1:40:42Speaker 8: that much against him, and I love it. I love
- 1:40:45Speaker 8: his moxie, like I think he's got a great makeup
- 1:40:47Speaker 8: and mental toughness, a winner, and I think that's important.
- 1:40:50Speaker 8: But it's going to come down to what we see
- 1:40:52Speaker 8: in a couple of weeks, like what does his shoulders
- 1:40:54Speaker 8: and knees look like?
- 1:40:55Speaker 6: Man? If there's if it's bone on bone, then it's
- 1:40:58Speaker 6: it's going to be a Day two pick, like all
- 1:41:00Speaker 6: day Well.
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: Take what we're seeing though, is Evan's army is coming.
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: This is the junior, the junior Lazar. They just got
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: their iPhones and so they're.
- 1:41:09Speaker 8: All school today. Usually we're on when they're in school. Yeah,
- 1:41:14Speaker 8: I appreciate the school job.
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: Uh, let's go to William and Phillim. What's up William?
- 1:41:19Speaker 22: Hey, how are you doing all right? Okay? Questions for
- 1:41:23Speaker 22: ut not even a question? Hey have you seen Alex
- 1:41:28Speaker 22: bark his mock draft and whatnot?
- 1:41:30Speaker 8: Oh God, how could you not see it? He's reposted
- 1:41:33Speaker 8: it seventeen times.
- 1:41:34Speaker 6: I mean, just choose to ignore it. I haven't seen it.
- 1:41:37Speaker 6: I haven't that quos.
- 1:41:39Speaker 22: I love it, man. I wouldn't change a thing on there.
- 1:41:42Speaker 22: I mean he moved around, he made some moves, but
- 1:41:45Speaker 22: he got the tight end. He addressed the quarterback, the
- 1:41:48Speaker 22: wide receiver. I was fine, with it.
- 1:41:50Speaker 6: Oh it was a seven round mark. Oh, Patriots seven
- 1:41:53Speaker 6: round mocks. Those are my favorite.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:41:55Speaker 6: I think he had three trades my favorites of the
- 1:41:57Speaker 6: seven round marks. Where I've heard of all son guys
- 1:42:00Speaker 6: that they have.
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: Seven round equals. I have a lot of time in
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: my hands.
- 1:42:05Speaker 6: No, but I love the guys. It's like I'm gonna
- 1:42:07Speaker 6: take I'm gonna take Harrison Junior at three and then
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: jayde and Daniels will probably slip to thirty four. I'll
- 1:42:12Speaker 6: take him at in the second round. Like all seven
- 1:42:15Speaker 6: guys they take are guys that are household names, and
- 1:42:17Speaker 6: I'm like, it's amazing. No one else thought any of
- 1:42:19Speaker 6: those players were good.
- 1:42:21Speaker 13: I will.
- 1:42:21Speaker 8: I will give him this. I did like his mock draft.
- 1:42:24Speaker 8: I thought it was good.
- 1:42:26Speaker 6: I do love. I love the idea.
- 1:42:28Speaker 8: Jatavian Sanders and and somebody like Roman Wilson together on
- 1:42:31Speaker 8: day two. It's tough to do, though. You gotta get
- 1:42:34Speaker 8: that trade that Alex pulled off on day two.
- 1:42:36Speaker 6: To make you gotta hope all the other teams don't
- 1:42:37Speaker 6: know all the good players pulling off fake trades.
- 1:42:42Speaker 8: He's He's the Bill Simmons of trades and mock drafts, Like,
- 1:42:45Speaker 8: that's just that's all he's doing.
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: And can you give your who's the first couple of picks?
- 1:42:50Speaker 6: It was.
- 1:42:52Speaker 8: Drake May, uh, Jatavian Sanders, Roman Wilson, and uh he
- 1:42:59Speaker 8: really likes that Pat Paul to tackle from Houston, So
- 1:43:02Speaker 8: those are so he traded down in the second round
- 1:43:04Speaker 8: to add a pick.
- 1:43:04Speaker 6: Well, actual apologize Patrick Paul, so that that that's how
- 1:43:09Speaker 6: he did it.
- 1:43:09Speaker 8: We were talking about familiar with this earlier and Duce
- 1:43:12Speaker 8: and I are going to have mock drafts. First of all,
- 1:43:14Speaker 8: it's a little it's a little early for me for
- 1:43:16Speaker 8: the mock drafts. I've decided that because like, without free agency,
- 1:43:19Speaker 8: there's just so many holes and it's like how do
- 1:43:21Speaker 8: you plug you know, you only have seven picks, so
- 1:43:24Speaker 8: like how do you kind of go about this? There's
- 1:43:26Speaker 8: too many holes. But the tight end class this year,
- 1:43:29Speaker 8: which is a need for the Patriots, especially if they're
- 1:43:32Speaker 8: going to run this Van Pelt offense, it's not a
- 1:43:36Speaker 8: great tight end class and it's it's a difficult spot
- 1:43:39Speaker 8: to find a guy in the draft to make and
- 1:43:42Speaker 8: Jatavian Sanders is probably the best because he is going
- 1:43:45Speaker 8: to go early Day two.
- 1:43:47Speaker 6: Last year was a great class, right class, So this
- 1:43:50Speaker 6: is another one of those No, no, no, we're not
- 1:43:52Speaker 6: going to take it in the year that there's a
- 1:43:54Speaker 6: lot of We're going to wait a year like they
- 1:43:57Speaker 6: did it. They did that at Wide Receiver a few
- 1:43:59Speaker 6: years back. Yeah.
- 1:44:00Speaker 8: I mean I was we were doing the free agency previews.
- 1:44:03Speaker 8: I I do offense, does defense, and I was writing
- 1:44:06Speaker 8: the tight ends on last night, and I'm just thinking
- 1:44:08Speaker 8: to myself, like them passing on that class last year.
- 1:44:11Speaker 6: Just could really killed them, Like because.
- 1:44:17Speaker 22: Go ahead and then am I out of the way.
- 1:44:22Speaker 22: Just No, there's so much pushback on Drake May. Is
- 1:44:25Speaker 22: he that bad?
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: Well, I mean, we've got there's a person Christian and
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: from North Carolina and he says, uh again he's from
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: North Carolina. How a lot of us have been watching
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: May since high school and even went to my local
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: high school, so we have seen a lot more of
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: him than most people. He thinks he's no good, no good,
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: no good.
- 1:44:47Speaker 22: Okay, yeah, okay.
- 1:44:49Speaker 8: Nobody else thanks William of watching Drake May, except people
- 1:44:52Speaker 8: from North Carolina. If you didn't go to that, if
- 1:44:55Speaker 8: you're not from that state, then why bother even having it?
- 1:44:58Speaker 6: I just would ask listen. I'm not an expert, I
- 1:45:01Speaker 6: fully admit, but I just don't know how you can
- 1:45:04Speaker 6: watch a game and think a guy is good that
- 1:45:06Speaker 6: everybody else not everybody else, that someone else watches the
- 1:45:08Speaker 6: game and say he stinks.
- 1:45:09Speaker 5: No, Like like I don't going back to our conversations,
- 1:45:13Speaker 5: tall and has a good well, I mean, no matter
- 1:45:15Speaker 5: how good or bad you think he is, Like he's
- 1:45:17Speaker 5: going to go in the top five picks, no question.
- 1:45:19Speaker 5: And he's the kind of guy that's worth taking a
- 1:45:21Speaker 5: miss on, you know, like he's somebody if you drafted
- 1:45:23Speaker 5: him at three and it didn't work out.
- 1:45:25Speaker 6: Then why does that happen? With Caleb Williams. Some people
- 1:45:28Speaker 6: watch him play and they think he's great, And some
- 1:45:29Speaker 6: people watch him play they're like.
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: I don't know, he can't play, but he's not tall.
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: I know he's not tall, So like WHI he's a
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: great athlete.
- 1:45:37Speaker 8: I don't know who's watching Caleb Williams and things he.
- 1:45:39Speaker 6: Can't play well. I don't know if you know, but
- 1:45:41Speaker 6: he cried.
- 1:45:42Speaker 8: I mean that's different. I'm just saying, like what he's
- 1:45:44Speaker 8: actually putting on film?
- 1:45:45Speaker 6: You know, I don't know, how did you see how
- 1:45:46Speaker 6: much better they were in the bowl game when he
- 1:45:48Speaker 6: didn't play.
- 1:45:49Speaker 11: Have you got because he brings that up like not joking, like.
- 1:45:54Speaker 6: Oh, I think they will not take him because he
- 1:45:57Speaker 6: cried after the Utah.
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: No, but I think felger on A he doesn't want
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: to take.
- 1:46:01Speaker 6: Him because of that, not just Mike.
- 1:46:04Speaker 4: That's what it's.
- 1:46:05Speaker 6: That's his reasoning.
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: There's other things.
- 1:46:07Speaker 6: He's soft, that's his reasoning.
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: Well, he talks about all the other things you know
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: that nothing to do with football, right, that's true.
- 1:46:15Speaker 8: Well, that's because he doesn't know how.
- 1:46:16Speaker 6: To watch it correct, because I can't spell us if
- 1:46:21Speaker 6: you're spotted ball.
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: During the game.
- 1:46:23Speaker 8: So you can't like Drake May or Drake May if
- 1:46:26Speaker 8: you're not from North Carolina, you just don't know what
- 1:46:28Speaker 8: you're talking about.
- 1:46:29Speaker 6: And and you have to be from North Carolina.
- 1:46:33Speaker 8: I do not like him, and you can only have
- 1:46:35Speaker 8: it if you're If you like Caleb Williams, then you
- 1:46:38Speaker 8: have to hate him because he cried like that.
- 1:46:40Speaker 6: Those are the That's that's what.
- 1:46:42Speaker 9: It is.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: Let's go to Matt and Virginia Beach. What's up, Matt?
- 1:46:50Speaker 23: Hey, Happy Tuesday, everybody.
- 1:46:51Speaker 4: Hey, thanks Matt.
- 1:46:54Speaker 23: It's the lingering thought that I had from the Super
- 1:46:57Speaker 23: Bowl is that if you don't have the quarter back,
- 1:47:00Speaker 23: you don't have a chance. The forty nine Ers defense
- 1:47:04Speaker 23: dictated all game how the Chiefs were going to play offense,
- 1:47:08Speaker 23: and the forty nine Ers offense couldn't deliver the kill shot.
- 1:47:12Speaker 23: Rock Party had opportunity after opportunity to put the game
- 1:47:17Speaker 23: away and couldn't do it. Mac Jones wouldn't be able
- 1:47:20Speaker 23: to do it, Bailey Zappi wouldn't be able to do it.
- 1:47:23Speaker 23: I used to be of the opinion that maybe trading
- 1:47:25Speaker 23: down in the draft would be the best way to go,
- 1:47:27Speaker 23: but hot dang, I am all in on a quarterback now,
- 1:47:31Speaker 23: and I'm all for Drake May. I think Drake May
- 1:47:34Speaker 23: has the body to withstand New England weather, He's got
- 1:47:37Speaker 23: the arm strength to withstand New England weather and how
- 1:47:40Speaker 23: the games are played out. And I'm all for doing
- 1:47:44Speaker 23: whatever we need to do to get Drake May on
- 1:47:46Speaker 23: our team.
- 1:47:46Speaker 6: All right, Drake mayra may well, but he's North Carolina.
- 1:47:52Speaker 6: Correct from there, you know that he can't play. I
- 1:47:56Speaker 6: just would push back really slightly, like you don't have
- 1:47:59Speaker 6: a chance. So the nine didn't have a chance to
- 1:48:00Speaker 6: win on Sunday, and the Niners defense was so dominant
- 1:48:04Speaker 6: that they allowed four hundred and sixty yards of offense. Like,
- 1:48:07Speaker 6: come on, Like it was a good game. It went
- 1:48:10Speaker 6: back and forth. I mean, there's a difference between blowing
- 1:48:13Speaker 6: a ten point lead like with five minutes left in
- 1:48:16Speaker 6: the game, or with eight minutes left in the game
- 1:48:18Speaker 6: like they did against the Chiefs the first time they
- 1:48:20Speaker 6: were up ten to nothing in the second quarter. Like,
- 1:48:23Speaker 6: they didn't blow a lead, Like you don't even like this,
- 1:48:26Speaker 6: I understand it. It goes down. Yes, it was a
- 1:48:28Speaker 6: good back and forth game. And you know, for all
- 1:48:31Speaker 6: the ineptitude that Shanahan had on offense, the call of
- 1:48:35Speaker 6: that or the email or that rode in a little
- 1:48:38Speaker 6: while ago was right. The last three or four times
- 1:48:40Speaker 6: that the Chiefs got the ball, they scored so of
- 1:48:43Speaker 6: the Niners. They were losing late in the game, they
- 1:48:47Speaker 6: had to go out and score. Then it was tied.
- 1:48:48Speaker 6: They had to go out and score. Then it was
- 1:48:50Speaker 6: tied again, they had to go out and score. They
- 1:48:52Speaker 6: kept scoring.
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and I remember saying early in the second half,
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: if the forty nine Ers defense can't pitch a shut
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: off from here, that's it's over. And that wasn't the case,
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: but they kept in the game. So Paul's like forty
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: nine ers kept up.
- 1:49:08Speaker 6: And I think, listen, do I think that brock Perty
- 1:49:11Speaker 6: played a great game. No. I think he played better
- 1:49:13Speaker 6: than he did in the previous two playoff games. But
- 1:49:16Speaker 6: that was his best game of the playoffs. Yeah, and
- 1:49:18Speaker 6: I don't.
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: Think he was great, but he was under siege.
- 1:49:22Speaker 6: He really was under a ton of pressure in the
- 1:49:24Speaker 6: second half. I think that one of your one of
- 1:49:25Speaker 6: your stats, Evan, I'm gonna use that as you know,
- 1:49:28Speaker 6: Paul shows Evans Evan stats indicated that he was under
- 1:49:33Speaker 6: He was under the most pressure that he's ever been
- 1:49:34Speaker 6: under in a game, like technically percentage wise of zero
- 1:49:38Speaker 6: fifty in the second half. So I thought, considering the stakes,
- 1:49:44Speaker 6: in the circumstances, I thought he played pretty well. Uh.
- 1:49:47Speaker 6: He almost threw a pick on the first play of
- 1:49:49Speaker 6: overtime that hit Deebo Samuel. I know he was injured
- 1:49:52Speaker 6: right in the hands, and he dropped it.
- 1:49:54Speaker 8: I gotta say, I love Deebo Samuel, and in some
- 1:49:57Speaker 8: of the not very good for him, he had a
- 1:50:01Speaker 8: bad drop earlier in the game.
- 1:50:02Speaker 6: He was invisible in that game. He didn't have anything.
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: I know, Max writes in from Santa Barbara, please stop
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: with the ass kicking of Mahomes ask kissing. I should
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: say of Mahomes, We're please. I know I'd like to
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: ask you experts this. Instead of kicking the field goal
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: in overtime, wouldn't have been better to give it to McCaffrey.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: The chances of him stopping him for no gain again,
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: I think was slim.
- 1:50:26Speaker 6: If he doesn't get he needed four yards, so no
- 1:50:28Speaker 6: gain wouldn't have done anything.
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: If he doesn't get in, he may gain two or
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: three yards. So now the Quiffy's is that what he's calling.
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: I don't know what Quiffy's means. Have to go sixty
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: yards or so to field goal range, starting at say
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: the two or three, rather than the starting of the
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: twenty five and needing to only go forty five yards
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: to the field goal.
- 1:50:46Speaker 8: Right, there's the argument of the go for it on
- 1:50:49Speaker 8: four it down because they have to drive.
- 1:50:52Speaker 6: I would make the argument only because that's what he
- 1:50:54Speaker 6: did earlier in the game. Why the inconsistency?
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: Get Mayfield as a free agent draft a big, fast
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: receiver can catch, get a tackle, and draft a quarterback
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: in the second or third round. We'll most likely have
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: a top five pick again anyway in twenty twenty five.
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: Love the show listening, since.
- 1:51:09Speaker 8: What's the point of the Baker Mayfield If you're gonna
- 1:51:12Speaker 8: have a top five pick, if he's not gonna make
- 1:51:14Speaker 8: you a relevant team, then why are we signing Baker Mayfield?
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: I think because you're not drafting a quarterback to the
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: second or third.
- 1:51:20Speaker 6: Round, right, So sign a guy like Jacobe Brissett for
- 1:51:23Speaker 6: a quarter of the price and let him do what
- 1:51:25Speaker 6: Baker Mayfield makes faster.
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: Boom prosper You know.
- 1:51:30Speaker 5: I think the one thing we should probably just remind
- 1:51:32Speaker 5: the NFL right now, probably make him feel a little better,
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: is that Brady lost.
- 1:51:34Speaker 4: To Eli Manning twice in the Super Bowl, So.
- 1:51:37Speaker 6: It's not impossible that might not feel better.
- 1:51:39Speaker 5: Well for the NFL, like we we're gonna just listen
- 1:51:41Speaker 5: to Patrick Mahomes every now, you know.
- 1:51:43Speaker 6: And by the way, he starts off by saying, can
- 1:51:45Speaker 6: we stop with the ass kicking kissing? I mean kissing, yeah,
- 1:51:49Speaker 6: kiss because if they had just gone for it on
- 1:51:52Speaker 6: the fourth down, so that means Mahomes witness scored probably
- 1:51:56Speaker 6: would have right Like you said nothing about Mahomes not
- 1:51:59Speaker 6: doing what.
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: We kind of kissing mahomes ass. But I think he
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: deserves it.
- 1:52:02Speaker 6: What am I supposed to say? Actually he stands like
- 1:52:06Speaker 6: I was fine. I just happened to think he just
- 1:52:08Speaker 6: dragged a very average team to a super Bowl.
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: Chatty Cathy writes in did you know like that Taylor
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: Swift had Kanye Way West removed from the super Bowl?
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: I didn't see that? Is that true? I don't think
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: that power flex. Also, what was up with her and Goodell?
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: Looked like they were having a heated conversation. I didn't
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: see that either.
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: They were talking.
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't see it as being heated. I just
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: I think he should be thanking her for bringing in
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: new revenue to the league. Right.
- 1:52:34Speaker 8: How you know how many articles I saw over the
- 1:52:36Speaker 8: weekend of son and you know his father and daughter.
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: That was ridiculous.
- 1:52:42Speaker 8: I don't care ith God, it's just according.
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: To what's that her having Kanye.
- 1:52:51Speaker 6: West apparently into upstage Taylor Swift the super Bowl, but
- 1:52:54Speaker 6: the the pop star ideas of her own.
- 1:52:59Speaker 8: I would assume that Kanye got himself kicked ot.
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but that those stories about how Taylor is bringing
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: fathers and daughters together, I mean, that's.
- 1:53:07Speaker 6: That is enough, so wrong enough.
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: It's nice.
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not sure about that.
- 1:53:13Speaker 6: I'll tell you the best part of this one, at
- 1:53:14Speaker 6: least all the shots, all the shots of the suite
- 1:53:17Speaker 6: for the Super Bowl involved Blakelyewly.
- 1:53:20Speaker 8: So I was in As soon as I saw her,
- 1:53:22Speaker 8: I was like Paul's gonna be.
- 1:53:23Speaker 6: She was dressed like she was straight out of She
- 1:53:25Speaker 6: was right out of the town.
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: She like she wore like the town outfits. She had on,
- 1:53:28Speaker 4: like a win wind suit and the whole thing.
- 1:53:30Speaker 6: That's your point.
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: I think I thought she was terrible actress in that movie.
- 1:53:33Speaker 6: I don't care she acted.
- 1:53:35Speaker 5: Look at you coming in here to my Bob right now,
- 1:53:41Speaker 5: Matt framing him.
- 1:53:43Speaker 6: We didn't spend nearly enough time on Matt.
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: I have a developing opinion on the game last Sunday.
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: We can debate the overtime and what Shanahan deciding or
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: the nerds and all that stuff. The forty nine ers
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: had a chance to extend the lead early in the
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: second half after Mahomes through the interception setting up a
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: short field for the forty nine ers up by seven,
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: and when they went backwards and forced to punt, that
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: was the moment where the forty nine ers became tighter
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: than the rope you used to climb in gym class.
- 1:54:09Speaker 8: Except they went down the field multiple times in the
- 1:54:11Speaker 8: fourth quarter in overtime, but tight while while losing.
- 1:54:15Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, I mean, like you can't just score every
- 1:54:20Speaker 6: time you get the ball, like Mahomes still a pick
- 1:54:22Speaker 6: on that drive, right to set that up, Like they
- 1:54:25Speaker 6: didn't score on that drive.
- 1:54:29Speaker 8: I got two calls from North Carolina, though I'm tempted
- 1:54:31Speaker 8: to all right.
- 1:54:33Speaker 6: They are well, they way in Well.
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: I don't think Todd's into this, but we'll see Todds
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: in North Carolina's opinion.
- 1:54:40Speaker 6: North Carolina, what's my opinion on what Drake may yes
- 1:54:45Speaker 6: or no.
- 1:54:47Speaker 11: Play?
- 1:54:47Speaker 10: I got taken by my brother in laws the game,
- 1:54:49Speaker 10: and not that I only saw one game. I'm not
- 1:54:53Speaker 10: don't have much of opinion.
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: But at least you saw a game.
- 1:54:56Speaker 10: Yeah, the Super Bowl was kind of boring for me. Yeah,
- 1:55:01Speaker 10: I want points, I like better than defense and on
- 1:55:06Speaker 10: that the old under.
- 1:55:08Speaker 6: Was forty seven and a half and it landed on
- 1:55:09Speaker 6: forty seven.
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: So wow, amazing how they do it?
- 1:55:13Speaker 10: Really is Ben Roethlisberger Tom Brady type quarterback done? Like,
- 1:55:17Speaker 10: are we not going to have like a an arm
- 1:55:19Speaker 10: sling in.
- 1:55:20Speaker 6: Ben roethlis anymore. That's Josh Allen. Wow, Josh.
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:55:26Speaker 6: But when Ben Roethlisberger was Josh Allen's age, that's how
- 1:55:28Speaker 6: we played. Not quite, I would.
- 1:55:32Speaker 8: It's not as good Allenes like you know, there are
- 1:55:35Speaker 8: I understand what he's saying.
- 1:55:37Speaker 6: I just maybe he was.
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so so is the Will you ever see a
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: great pocket passer?
- 1:55:43Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: Sure, Yeah, I think so.
- 1:55:45Speaker 5: I mean, I think Mahomes is a great pocket passer.
- 1:55:47Speaker 5: He just has an athleticism to scoot when he has to.
- 1:55:49Speaker 5: But it's not like his game is all on his
- 1:55:52Speaker 5: legs like I did. I mean, that's what makes him
- 1:55:53Speaker 5: so good.
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: But I think in today's NFL, the defenses. Everyone talked
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: about offenses and Shanahan and that, you know, uh McVeigh,
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: but the defenses have also become more complex, and I
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: think if you can't extend plays with your feet or
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: at least get yourself out of trouble and pick up
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: those yards when everything else is broken down, it's hard
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: to succeed now in today's NFL because of the defenses.
- 1:56:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I would just say too, I think everybody has
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: to be athletic, like the days of you know, guys,
- 1:56:20Speaker 5: I mean, you know, Tom was what he was, but Drew,
- 1:56:22Speaker 5: I mean just guys who are statues back there.
- 1:56:23Speaker 4: I don't think that's gonna fly anymore.
- 1:56:25Speaker 5: You need somebody who at least has some you know,
- 1:56:27Speaker 5: even Mac like Mac is probably the modern version of that.
- 1:56:29Speaker 5: Like and he's not a terrible athlete, but you need
- 1:56:31Speaker 5: to have a little bit of his capability to be
- 1:56:34Speaker 5: a quarterback.
- 1:56:34Speaker 8: I think until until offensive line plays starts to catch
- 1:56:38Speaker 8: up to pass rushers, right then you have to have some.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: But even then, I mean, that's a hat on a hat.
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: But you know, like even go back to the days
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: like Pittsburgh started doing it with the red Dog and
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: dropping guys out and bringing guys in from different areas.
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: You you know.
- 1:56:54Speaker 8: It's not that dog he had.
- 1:56:59Speaker 4: What green dogs.
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: Yeah, they called it red dog.
- 1:57:04Speaker 6: Blitz red dogs. Absolutely, yeah, thank you, thank you. Every
- 1:57:09Speaker 6: once in a while the stays you go.
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: So it's not just a matter of having a five
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: good offensive linemen. You have to be smart. You have
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: to have a quarterback who can read what's going on,
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: you know, and get out of trouble if he has to.
- 1:57:24Speaker 6: It's can you just go stand over there.
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: Sorry, Red Dog. Hector's in Providence. What's up? Hector?
- 1:57:33Speaker 7: Hey, guys, thanks taking my call.
- 1:57:36Speaker 24: I just have a quick thought.
- 1:57:38Speaker 17: So one thing that this fan.
- 1:57:40Speaker 24: Base needs to get in their heads is that the
- 1:57:43Speaker 24: days of the old Super Bowl runs is over with.
- 1:57:46Speaker 16: Right, Yeah, we're not going to.
- 1:57:48Speaker 24: Sniff the playoffs, but at least the next two seasons
- 1:57:51Speaker 24: we have plenty of times to develop a quarterback. Jaydon Daniels,
- 1:57:56Speaker 24: Drake may whoever you want. But these people saying we
- 1:57:59Speaker 24: got to uh get a league quarterback off the list
- 1:58:04Speaker 24: is kind of crazy to me. Most teams don't even
- 1:58:09Speaker 24: have anything close to my homes and Josh Allen and
- 1:58:12Speaker 24: Joe Burrow. So I just think this fan base needs
- 1:58:15Speaker 24: to pipe down a little bit, realize situation, and know
- 1:58:19Speaker 24: that hey, we're gonna be rebuilding for a while. Right wait,
- 1:58:25Speaker 24: John Mayo, I think you know, we stand a little
- 1:58:28Speaker 24: bit of a chance. We might make a little bit
- 1:58:30Speaker 24: of noise if we take a quarterback and it works out.
- 1:58:33Speaker 24: But I just want to send it them. I just
- 1:58:36Speaker 24: wanted to send the mestics to pastination that you guys
- 1:58:39Speaker 24: need to be patient.
- 1:58:40Speaker 6: Yeah all right, I'm good.
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: I mean, what would we be saying right now, if
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: a couple of little things went the other way for
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: the forty nine ers and they pulled that game out,
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: I mean they were that close. Let's face it, what
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: would we be saying, like, you can win the way
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: the forty nine ers.
- 1:58:58Speaker 6: Take five years?
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I have to build that.
- 1:59:00Speaker 6: I would push back on the like, you can't expect
- 1:59:03Speaker 6: to make the playoffs in the next two like next year,
- 1:59:06Speaker 6: I'm pretty realistic. That's a lot of overhaul to hit,
- 1:59:10Speaker 6: not the least of which is the quarterback. Right, but
- 1:59:13Speaker 6: in two years you can't. You can't put together a
- 1:59:15Speaker 6: couple of good back to back off season because a competitive.
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: Because we don't have the quarterback. It's more likely than
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: not it's gonna.
- 1:59:24Speaker 6: If you don't have a quarterback. I agree, but it's
- 1:59:26Speaker 6: also a difference between making the playoffs and making a
- 1:59:29Speaker 6: run in the playoffs. And I think in two years
- 1:59:31Speaker 6: you can realistically be expecting to do what they did
- 1:59:34Speaker 6: last year and have the last game of the season
- 1:59:36Speaker 6: to be contingent of making the playoffs. I don't think
- 1:59:39Speaker 6: that's outrageous.
- 1:59:39Speaker 8: The Houston Texans Indianapolis Colts, why not if.
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: We get CJ. Stroud, we could be right in it,
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: all right, No.
- 1:59:46Speaker 6: But you're right.
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:59:48Speaker 6: Like that's how like if Jayden Daniels is any good
- 1:59:51Speaker 6: or Drake May is any good? I mean, obviously Drake
- 1:59:53Speaker 6: May stinks according to North Carolina at Large.
- 1:59:57Speaker 10: Ye.
