- 0:19Speaker 2: What up, Doughty?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Detroit Style Pisa and is.
- 0:24Speaker 2: So you're from Detroit.
- 0:25Speaker 3: I don't need this, no, not till you're Oh, okay.
- 0:27Speaker 2: You're from Detroit Originals.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm from the D three one three yep, east side,
- 0:32Speaker 1: west side, west side, west side of Detroit.
- 0:34Speaker 2: There's more player on the race.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I mean they definitely are more something on the west side.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I was like, when you go to Detroit. I've been
- 0:43Speaker 2: to Detroit hung out on both sides often, but they
- 0:46Speaker 2: always say like the west side is kind of like
- 0:48Speaker 2: Harlem in New York, like more fly, more like about
- 0:52Speaker 2: their fashion. The east side is more.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Like more like you want to there to die. That's
- 0:58Speaker 1: how I categorize.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah, but I fuck with Detroit, man. That was actually
- 1:02Speaker 2: one of the coolest places that we got to travel
- 1:05Speaker 2: to and record content.
- 1:06Speaker 3: What was you doing in Detroit?
- 1:08Speaker 2: Just shot a bunch of interviews. We went out there
- 1:10Speaker 2: were hanging out with like ice Work, Vezzo and Peasy
- 1:12Speaker 2: and where did they have perro Giovanni everywhere? I mean, dude,
- 1:16Speaker 2: we were in sid of babies, like fucking trap house
- 1:19Speaker 2: on the East Side, Like it was crazy motherfuckers outside
- 1:22Speaker 2: with bazookas.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Yep. I wouldn't have been there.
- 1:25Speaker 2: But it was cool. Like the food was I mean,
- 1:27Speaker 2: the Coney Islands or whatever. Let's be honest.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I mean that's all we eat.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I know, I know, but it's like it's like I
- 1:33Speaker 2: get why. It's like people are like, you gotta go
- 1:35Speaker 2: and get a good like hit a good Coney when
- 1:37Speaker 2: you're in Detroit, And we went to like four of
- 1:38Speaker 2: them and it was all just like yeah, I mean,
- 1:40Speaker 2: this is.
- 1:41Speaker 3: What did you get there? You get the chili fries
- 1:43Speaker 3: with cheese.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I think we got a lot. You like, got a
- 1:45Speaker 2: bunch of shit, Yeah, sandwiches. I mean I think one
- 1:49Speaker 2: place we got cheesecake, chicken wings, hot dogs, chili cheese fries.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Come on, man, I'm trying to diet and you over
- 1:55Speaker 1: here bringing up all of this damn food shit. Look
- 1:58Speaker 1: I'm an addict, bro, I'm four days in and and
- 2:02Speaker 1: I got water.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I got water, I got water.
- 2:06Speaker 2: And diet so that which is terrible for you?
- 2:10Speaker 3: What what? What is that? Diet?
- 2:11Speaker 1: PEPSI diet coked? Okay, which isn't good for you? Is
- 2:16Speaker 1: not is almost as bad as you're drinking the sugar.
- 2:18Speaker 3: That's what I heard.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, there's uh some ship that called is it called asparteene. Yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 2: it's it's like causes cancer.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Right, So so you was like, fuck life, let me.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Just drink you know, hey no calories though.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Right, hey, shout out that it's worth it.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Hell yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 2: But yeah, no, I with Detroit, Detroit, it's a good
- 2:38Speaker 2: place man hip hop history there.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Hell yeah.
- 2:41Speaker 1: And you know, in my opinion, we we we got
- 2:44Speaker 1: the best mcs.
- 2:45Speaker 3: But it's it's interesting.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Some of them. Yeah see it's by see you're saying
- 2:52Speaker 2: my top rappers.
- 2:53Speaker 1: But but it's it's different because you got the lyricists
- 2:58Speaker 1: like Seant Simpson, Royce l you know what I mean,
- 3:03Speaker 1: black milk, Black Milk Pays Kennedy.
- 3:06Speaker 3: And then you got the other side of it, which
- 3:09Speaker 3: is the people.
- 3:09Speaker 2: That you fuck with the new ship though, because honestly
- 3:12Speaker 2: like the New Detroit shit, and then't even like the
- 3:14Speaker 2: new new because like Icewear Vessel has been around for
- 3:16Speaker 2: a minute, and like dough Boys cash Out and those
- 3:18Speaker 2: guys like Peril Giovanni's fuck been around forever. But it's
- 3:22Speaker 2: definitely like the new wave of Detroit and uh, Flint
- 3:28Speaker 2: has influenced so much of hip hop now it's kind
- 3:31Speaker 2: of crazy. Like people in Flint, like Rio the Young
- 3:34Speaker 2: O G and rmc mike, like John Connor shout out
- 3:38Speaker 2: to John Connor, Connor amazing. But those two guys specifically though,
- 3:42Speaker 2: have like really influenced a lot of the new guys
- 3:45Speaker 2: in a way that is kind of crazy. Like a
- 3:47Speaker 2: lot of guys rap that if you close your eyes
- 3:50Speaker 2: you would think it was like Rio the Young O
- 3:52Speaker 2: G was writing for them. Shout out to Flint though, man,
- 3:54Speaker 2: but John Connor's fire for sure. But like you said,
- 3:56Speaker 2: that's like different. That's like more lyrical, super lyrical, backpack
- 4:01Speaker 2: Crazy Bars or or I Die or the East Side.
- 4:07Speaker 2: But the new is different. It's like, you know, there's
- 4:09Speaker 2: like a kid named Baby Tron who's fucking what he
- 4:14Speaker 2: is in nineteen twenty and he's just he's just got
- 4:17Speaker 2: dope zany ass, like punch punchlines and cash Kid is fied.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Cash Kid, Cash Kids Kid is hard.
- 4:25Speaker 2: It's just different, so funny.
- 4:27Speaker 1: How come look, my favorite out of so I love PZ,
- 4:30Speaker 1: but like my favorite out of all those type of
- 4:33Speaker 1: Detroit rappers is T Grizzly, Like he's my favorite.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean T Grizzly is the guy who everybody
- 4:40Speaker 2: says kicked the door down nationally for that sound.
- 4:44Speaker 3: He did because he was the worst guy.
- 4:46Speaker 1: He wasn't, but he was the guy who made anybody
- 4:49Speaker 1: know what that sound is correct?
- 4:51Speaker 2: Yes, nationally for sure.
- 4:53Speaker 1: And he kept going, you know, like like I love
- 4:57Speaker 1: every T. Grizzly album that he put out, like every.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Time, yeah hard, And like he put out a whole
- 5:04Speaker 2: visual album.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah yeah with the stories. Yeah he was
- 5:07Speaker 3: like on this King Vaughn shit with.
- 5:08Speaker 2: The story sitting in every video. Yep, yep, that's gonna false. Irrus,
- 5:14Speaker 2: don't want that to hit you in the fucking head, buddy,
- 5:17Speaker 2: But shout out to Detroit man. So when did you
- 5:19Speaker 2: start acting.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Shit? I started like, did you move to.
- 5:25Speaker 2: LA and like chase it or were you like doing
- 5:27Speaker 2: some shit like back home or like you know cause.
- 5:29Speaker 1: No, well well you know I knew I was going
- 5:32Speaker 1: to be an actor since like I was little, Like
- 5:34Speaker 1: Michael Jackson has been my everything my whole life, you know,
- 5:39Speaker 1: straight up like of why I wanted to be an
- 5:41Speaker 1: entertainer and started from him when I was little.
- 5:43Speaker 3: So I actually started rapping first, like I was a rapper.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Through elementary school, middle school, high school, vesting in the schools,
- 5:51Speaker 1: and so I started acting in community college because I
- 5:57Speaker 1: went to play football and I didn't make the team.
- 6:00Speaker 3: So I was like, you know what, No, I want
- 6:02Speaker 3: to be an actor.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I know, I want to move to la let me
- 6:05Speaker 1: just start in theater, right, So I started in theater
- 6:07Speaker 1: in Granndrabs Community College. Then I went to theater at
- 6:09Speaker 1: West Michigan University. Then I went to Shakespeare. I went
- 6:13Speaker 1: for classical theater, you know, for my master's and at
- 6:17Speaker 1: the University of Delaware. So when I got to California,
- 6:20Speaker 1: I was ready. I was already kind of like yeah, yeah,
- 6:23Speaker 1: and you know, and I thought I thought I was
- 6:25Speaker 1: coming here to do both, like you know, but the
- 6:28Speaker 1: acting is what kicked off before the music, even though
- 6:32Speaker 1: I had been doing the music way longer than that.
- 6:35Speaker 3: That's what was feeding me, you know what I'm saying.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Because my story of how I even got started is
- 6:40Speaker 1: crazy here like it called it my Jay Leno story.
- 6:43Speaker 2: So what happened? Like you moved to La What was
- 6:46Speaker 2: the first acting break you got.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I moved here February two thousand and one, and I
- 6:52Speaker 1: was here for one month and I heard about this
- 6:55Speaker 1: audition called the Kennedys, ironically enough, and I snuck into
- 6:59Speaker 1: the audition that on these studios, Like I didn't even
- 7:01Speaker 1: have my own car, I was sleeping on somebody couch,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I have a job. I didn't have an agent. I
- 7:05Speaker 1: had shit, like I heard about it. My boy drove
- 7:09Speaker 1: me there and we were like, oh, we're making a delivery,
- 7:11Speaker 1: but I was really delivering myself, you know. And I
- 7:15Speaker 1: gave him my headside and resume and they saw I
- 7:17Speaker 1: didn't have an agent, but they just saw like twenty
- 7:20Speaker 1: theater credits and they was like credit, yeah, yeah, they
- 7:23Speaker 1: So they let me audition and that was my big
- 7:25Speaker 1: break because they tapped heart in me. I got the
- 7:28Speaker 1: part in the CBS pilot starting with Randy Quaid.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And Randy Quaid. Man, Randy Quaid, I know that's Vegas
- 7:34Speaker 2: vacation man.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Man, what happened to Randy fucking Quaid. Bro, I see
- 7:38Speaker 3: his brother.
- 7:38Speaker 2: But dang, I feel like Randy Quaid is. I'm ninety
- 7:44Speaker 2: nine point nine nine nine percent sure he's like a
- 7:46Speaker 2: wild like right wing conspiracy theorist now on Twitter.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Oh, Randy Quay's on Twitter.
- 7:53Speaker 2: He's a wild boy for sure.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I mean he was a wild boy. Then I went
- 7:57Speaker 1: to his wife's birthday party. I remember he took me
- 7:59Speaker 1: to his house. Oh my god, bro, this was the
- 8:02Speaker 1: biggest door I ever seen. It looked like a giant
- 8:04Speaker 1: lived in that house, like you know what I mean.
- 8:06Speaker 2: It looks like a tall guy, not.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Twelve feet tall, but this his hot His door looked
- 8:13Speaker 1: like jolly green giant lay there.
- 8:16Speaker 3: And then they took me to the Strip club. This
- 8:19Speaker 3: was White's birthday. Yeah, that ship was yeah here nice
- 8:23Speaker 3: yeah club.
- 8:24Speaker 1: So that's how that's how, that's how I got I
- 8:26Speaker 1: got started.
- 8:27Speaker 2: So what was the name of that show? Then?
- 8:28Speaker 3: Was called The Kennedy's Pilot that never got picked up?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Never got picked up?
- 8:31Speaker 3: Yep?
- 8:32Speaker 2: How much how much of that happens where there's just
- 8:34Speaker 2: pilots getting produced for nothing all the time?
- 8:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, no, no more, because you know, our
- 8:39Speaker 1: whole system is fucked up.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Now.
- 8:41Speaker 2: It used to be like you get a sitcom and
- 8:43Speaker 2: you make it. Like now it's like you get a
- 8:48Speaker 2: fucking podcast that pops off, and you're like.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Right, exactly, because that's where the.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Main shit is special comedians.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Yeah, because look right now, it's so oversaturated that you
- 8:58Speaker 1: can be on the show and don't nobody know who
- 9:01Speaker 1: to fook a. Like I'm like, look at the people
- 9:03Speaker 1: on CBS with the quiet money. They've been on I
- 9:06Speaker 1: don't know, FBI, Transylvania or some shit, and they richest hell,
- 9:11Speaker 1: but if you walk to them in route, you would
- 9:13Speaker 1: have never even read.
- 9:14Speaker 2: There's so many like it's it's between all the streaming
- 9:16Speaker 2: services and then still CBS and NBC. It's like I
- 9:19Speaker 2: can't keep up with you too much, Like I watch
- 9:22Speaker 2: what I watch, and if you ain't on them shows.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Right then you don't know.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I mean, you gotta really your show has to really pop,
- 9:30Speaker 1: like you gotta be on Netflix.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Or yeah, Like there's a few guys like if I
- 9:35Speaker 2: like I've watched like you know, I'm not a big
- 9:37Speaker 2: fan of like the the SVU type shows, but like
- 9:42Speaker 2: I've watched like Chicago PD enough times. If I saw
- 9:46Speaker 2: a guy but Oh that's the guy from that show.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Like the Black the older Black dude.
- 9:51Speaker 2: You just throw it on in the background because you
- 9:53Speaker 2: don't need to like no, like Sam Moore, Right, I
- 9:57Speaker 2: was just in a wedding with Shamar He's one of
- 9:58Speaker 2: my best friend's best friends, and I was just picking
- 10:01Speaker 2: his brain about it, and I was like, about what
- 10:03Speaker 2: about SWAT because they they brought it back after it
- 10:07Speaker 2: was canceled.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Oh shit for real?
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was just saying, he was like, yo,
- 10:12Speaker 2: like we're I think they're going into season eight of SWAT, yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 2: seven or eight?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Damn.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I did not know what he was saying. He was like,
- 10:21Speaker 2: you know, this is about the time like shows stop.
- 10:24Speaker 2: So he's like, I don't know, you know, we've had
- 10:27Speaker 2: a great run. I don't know if the run's gonna
- 10:28Speaker 2: keep going or not. But he's like, now's about the
- 10:30Speaker 2: time where you kind of got to look and be
- 10:33Speaker 2: like how long is this gonna go?
- 10:35Speaker 3: Right? And what I'm gonna do now?
- 10:36Speaker 2: I mean, but I mean he has minds he had, yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 2: I mean, Shama and Moore's he's so stupid rich He's
- 10:42Speaker 2: doing fine. See that's that quiet money. Think about the
- 10:44Speaker 2: people that are on that show that you don't know,
- 10:46Speaker 2: but they Yeah, I only know him well, and I've
- 10:48Speaker 2: met I met one dude, the Asian guy off that show,
- 10:51Speaker 2: but I don't know his name. I met him and
- 10:53Speaker 2: my friend's house a bunch. But yeah, but like you said,
- 10:55Speaker 2: there's so many shows, Like there's shows on CBS and Peacock.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know these fucking people. Like if
- 11:01Speaker 2: it's not Larry David Curve, it's my favorite show. Yeah,
- 11:06Speaker 2: it's my favorite comedy.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Oh yeah, me too.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the best.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Oh so you like Seinfail too, then of course.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Yes, I was a Seinfeld guy first again had all
- 11:15Speaker 2: them DVD box sets, man.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Me too, the first one. That was the first show
- 11:19Speaker 1: I got all the DV box I feel.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Like it might have been the first DVD box setted show.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Low key, it was like the colorful sleeves each season
- 11:26Speaker 2: I have its own color.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I got that, and then I got Family Guy box set.
- 11:30Speaker 2: You're right, Family Guy box se Honestly, Family Guy on
- 11:34Speaker 2: DVD is what really re invigorated that show, because if
- 11:40Speaker 2: you think about it, Family Guy was like kind of
- 11:42Speaker 2: like it was kind of like a cult classic until
- 11:46Speaker 2: it got put on DVD and then everybody fucked with
- 11:49Speaker 2: it and then it's like the biggest shit.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Ever and it got canceled three times.
- 11:53Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. The DVD demand is what brought
- 11:56Speaker 2: people back to it, and then they had to bring
- 11:58Speaker 2: it back because yeah, that's crazy. Shots a family Guy
- 12:03Speaker 2: that was a fucking era and the Sopranos on DVD.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Hey are you are you enjoying the new curve? I
- 12:09Speaker 3: mean a final curve? I am.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I already know what's gonna happen. It's gonna be like friends,
- 12:12Speaker 2: or it's gonna be like Seinfel. He's gonna end up
- 12:14Speaker 2: in jail.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Larry's gonna end up in jail.
- 12:16Speaker 2: I think it is all because he fucked his lawyer
- 12:18Speaker 2: ship up with his boyfriend, with his boyfriend's husband.
- 12:22Speaker 1: You think Larry's gonna end up in as old as
- 12:25Speaker 1: he is, He's gonna end up in jail.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Because his lawyer fucked up his his fucking plea deal.
- 12:31Speaker 2: And why did his lawyer fuck up his PLEADEO because
- 12:34Speaker 2: he was up all night arguing with his husband because
- 12:37Speaker 2: Larry gave him shit about the name of the kid.
- 12:41Speaker 2: And at the end, it's I feel like the end
- 12:44Speaker 2: is gonna be just like I feel like he's gonna
- 12:46Speaker 2: purposely do what he did with Seinfeld. Everyone's gonna get
- 12:50Speaker 2: tied together at the end that don't fuck with him,
- 12:55Speaker 2: and he's gonna end up in jail. He's gonna having
- 12:57Speaker 2: to go sit down.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I mean, isn't he going through the ship now anyway?
- 13:00Speaker 1: Like because he gave that Lady's on water.
- 13:02Speaker 2: In line, That's what I'm saying. He's gonna have to
- 13:04Speaker 2: go to jail for that. That's crazy because he was
- 13:07Speaker 2: gonna plete and then yeah it's and then he fucking yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 2: I didn't see the one that just ran Sunday.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I ain't see that yet.
- 13:14Speaker 2: The last one I saw was where he had the
- 13:16Speaker 2: spray paint in the back of his car and comp
- 13:18Speaker 2: was like and they were painting dicks on on all
- 13:21Speaker 2: the billboards.
- 13:22Speaker 1: For all of you who don't know what we're talking about,
- 13:25Speaker 1: we're talking about white people.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I'm very sad that it's over. But he's he's old
- 13:30Speaker 2: and you know, fucking I know, you know which his face.
- 13:34Speaker 3: He couldn't even get out of the damn golf cart.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I told my son because my eleven year old likes
- 13:39Speaker 1: like curb your enthusiasm a lot, which would a eleven
- 13:42Speaker 1: year old. I don't know, but in his acting class
- 13:45Speaker 1: they were talking about yeah, and he was like, I
- 13:49Speaker 1: know him, I watch him on and and and I'm sorry,
- 13:54Speaker 1: but I did like prognosticate this to him, I said,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I said, listen, bro, you see the fact that he
- 14:00Speaker 1: in his garf cart and he don't get out of it, right.
- 14:03Speaker 1: They just bringing him along because he can't He probably
- 14:05Speaker 1: can't stand or walk, but they want him in.
- 14:06Speaker 2: The whole season where they're arguing about who's in each
- 14:09Speaker 2: other's will.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean he's been presentiment that he was wont
- 14:14Speaker 1: when will you die?
- 14:15Speaker 3: Exactly? And he started that the first seaton.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Look, we went back and started the first season when
- 14:20Speaker 1: they looked crazy for sure.
- 14:21Speaker 3: I don't know how many what twenty years ago or something.
- 14:23Speaker 3: He was talking about dying.
- 14:25Speaker 2: In not for sure? Rest in peace, Richard Lewis Man,
- 14:28Speaker 2: Rest in peace, Richard lewis So you are you were
- 14:32Speaker 2: a part of what would you say Weeds was your
- 14:35Speaker 2: first big big break? Uh?
- 14:40Speaker 1: Maybe swat Weed's probably Listen, it must be because to
- 14:46Speaker 1: this day my main fan base comes from Weeds in
- 14:49Speaker 1: Blue Mountain State, so like, if you know Paie Kennedy
- 14:51Speaker 1: is because it's usually because of one of those two.
- 14:55Speaker 3: That's where the cold following comes from.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Right, And for people who don't know, Weeds is like
- 14:59Speaker 2: probably the first like super successful showtime show. I would say,
- 15:05Speaker 2: I don't know what else there was before Weeds that
- 15:07Speaker 2: was like popping because we was before and we well,
- 15:11Speaker 2: we I think Weeds was before Californication a little bit.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I think he was running at the same time.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Californication was fire shot David D.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Keveney. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that she was.
- 15:19Speaker 2: She was dope, and Homeland was fired too.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Hell yeah, Homeland was fire until it was goddamn eight seasons.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Though, what I'm saying, once once they got rid of
- 15:27Speaker 2: the one dude, once the brody guy died, I'm like.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah, they were struggling after that. But same with me
- 15:35Speaker 3: and Weeds.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Well, because no, no, you were like you like this
- 15:39Speaker 2: lady's husband dies in the show. She's a suburban house mom,
- 15:44Speaker 2: and then she turns into a weed dealer to kind
- 15:49Speaker 2: of just help pay the bills essentially, and then it
- 15:53Speaker 2: ends up she ends up kind of being like a
- 15:56Speaker 2: weed fucking you know, uh, just a giant weed dealer,
- 16:02Speaker 2: like a fucking what am I trying to say, Like
- 16:04Speaker 2: a big dope dealer, you know. But you were like
- 16:05Speaker 2: her plug, her first plug.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Well yeah, because Rominy like the other black high on there,
- 16:13Speaker 1: they went into it together.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And they were fucking right. Yeah, yeah, that's right.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 2: See, I haven't watched the show in so long, and
- 16:19Speaker 2: then you you knew that guy?
- 16:22Speaker 3: Yeah? And then was it your mom, his mom, his auntie.
- 16:26Speaker 2: His auntie Okay, yeah, so it was. It was It
- 16:30Speaker 2: was definitely like old. That was like kind of like
- 16:32Speaker 2: to me, the era of like TV changing a little bit,
- 16:39Speaker 2: because before that, I feel like there wasn't a lot
- 16:42Speaker 2: of like outside of the Sopranos and the few were
- 16:44Speaker 2: like an HBO head and you watched Oz and The
- 16:46Speaker 2: Wire and Ship, which I feel like the Wire got
- 16:48Speaker 2: more popular after it got finished, yeah for sure. But
- 16:51Speaker 2: I feel like like that Weeds era TV was like
- 16:54Speaker 2: kind of the real first like binge popular like time
- 17:00Speaker 2: where people were like yeah, and that was when the
- 17:02Speaker 2: DVDs were popping. I remember my dad would buy all
- 17:04Speaker 2: the like he'd be like Son Wins the new season
- 17:07Speaker 2: Weeds come in and hell, long do you have to
- 17:08Speaker 2: wait for it to come on DVD, but just get
- 17:11Speaker 2: fucking showtime. I no, I got I can. I don't
- 17:14Speaker 2: want to get shows. What was it like being a
- 17:17Speaker 2: part of that show?
- 17:19Speaker 3: Listen?
- 17:19Speaker 1: As an actor, that probably was the show that I
- 17:24Speaker 1: grew the most, you know, because like the first the
- 17:27Speaker 1: first season, I came on season two, so I was
- 17:30Speaker 1: there from season two and season three. And when I
- 17:33Speaker 1: came on there, you know, I was like, I was good.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I was doing my thing. But it wasn't until season
- 17:40Speaker 1: three where like after the Mexican standoff happened at the finale,
- 17:45Speaker 1: that's one of the coldest finales for sure that I
- 17:47Speaker 1: can think of. At the season two that that that
- 17:50Speaker 1: season finale, but where we are, nobody knows what was
- 17:54Speaker 1: about to happen, you know, and we got to wait
- 17:56Speaker 1: through the whole summer.
- 17:57Speaker 2: To find out how.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Yeah, well, the.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Hoopla for the U Turn character was so big that
- 18:06Speaker 1: they made the decision to let the story go towards me, right,
- 18:10Speaker 1: And so at this point I didn't really get to
- 18:14Speaker 1: talk to Mary Luise Parker, like you don't even like
- 18:16Speaker 1: look at her like like you do your scenes. But
- 18:19Speaker 1: that's it, Like I didn't have a relationship with her.
- 18:21Speaker 1: But then when season three came and it's just me
- 18:25Speaker 1: and her, and she really got to see like I'm
- 18:28Speaker 1: not just like I'm like for real, for real, like
- 18:30Speaker 1: we are two titans going at each other. Her respect
- 18:33Speaker 1: for me changed and we became like really close friends,
- 18:37Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, And so doing scenes with
- 18:39Speaker 1: her specifically and also rominy because we had that fucking
- 18:43Speaker 1: the little gun on the table thing, like oh here,
- 18:48Speaker 1: this is what happened when we first came back. The
- 18:51Speaker 1: first episode in season three, I got sick. So I
- 18:54Speaker 1: was sick, so my energy was really low because I
- 18:58Speaker 1: didn't feel good, and then my voice was kind of
- 19:01Speaker 1: weird because you know that happens when you get see
- 19:03Speaker 1: So when I'm doing my scenes, I learned the new
- 19:06Speaker 1: color to.
- 19:07Speaker 3: My acting that I didn't have before. I used to
- 19:09Speaker 3: call it.
- 19:09Speaker 1: The uh the the white TV voice is what I
- 19:14Speaker 1: called it.
- 19:15Speaker 2: It's like when they talking a whispering.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Yeah, like but like that's how they do on TV,
- 19:20Speaker 1: like when they were bad guys.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I never knew how to do that. I'd be on
- 19:23Speaker 3: my couch.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I'm like, that sounds stupid when I try to, but
- 19:26Speaker 1: because my body forced me to slow down. That's why
- 19:32Speaker 1: I was able to talk to her in a way
- 19:35Speaker 1: where I was gonna rip her.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Throat out and bury it.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Well, my weed was buried, like I was able to
- 19:42Speaker 1: do that and had a confidence to it, because normally
- 19:45Speaker 1: I wouldn't have had a confidence. I'm trying to say
- 19:47Speaker 1: my lines again, so I want to get in trouble
- 19:49Speaker 1: or whatever, but my energy was so low that that's
- 19:52Speaker 1: what was coming out, and she like.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and we got tight.
- 19:58Speaker 1: And then you know, I found this new color to
- 20:00Speaker 1: my acting that I didn't have before. You know what
- 20:03Speaker 1: I'm saying, because there was no reason or calls for
- 20:05Speaker 1: me to have it, And so I always would attribute
- 20:08Speaker 1: weeds to that.
- 20:10Speaker 2: You said that they were gonna bring it back.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah, they you know, they brought Dexter back.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Right, And so it just didn't end up happening.
- 20:17Speaker 1: No, I don't know why it went away, but you
- 20:20Speaker 1: know that was the scuttle but that they were talking
- 20:22Speaker 1: about bringing it back.
- 20:23Speaker 3: And I was like, damn, how do they bring me back?
- 20:26Speaker 3: You're dad Like I'm dead. Like maybe maybe I just
- 20:28Speaker 3: show up in like dreams to like help her through.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I mean, she still got me tattooed on her ass,
- 20:33Speaker 1: and you know it's funny that white women would send
- 20:35Speaker 1: me tattoos.
- 20:36Speaker 3: You turned on the ass. That's how insane it was.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I was like, damn, that shits Wow, crazy strange white women.
- 20:44Speaker 1: And my DM was like, look what I got. I'm like,
- 20:47Speaker 1: oh shit, this is crazy.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Another show you you did. I never was a Blue
- 20:53Speaker 2: Mountain State watcher, but I'm obviously very aware of the show.
- 20:57Speaker 3: I bet you a lot of your fucking people is watching.
- 21:00Speaker 3: They were advt No.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I know it's a huge show. I know he loves
- 21:03Speaker 2: the show.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Hell yeah, right An Randell, you know what it is.
- 21:08Speaker 2: But I never got into it.
- 21:10Speaker 1: But you played the running back, right, No, that was
- 21:12Speaker 1: the other black dude, This motherfucker here, I played the quarterback,
- 21:17Speaker 1: right Don Randell, who came after the running back, so
- 21:21Speaker 1: they had to running back in the season one and then.
- 21:23Speaker 3: He had to go away, so then they replaced them
- 21:25Speaker 3: with a quarterback.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I heard it it might get brought back. I've been hearing.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I have been hearing that that. I think they're working
- 21:32Speaker 1: on trying to make that happen.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Netflix or because I feel like shows get canceled and
- 21:37Speaker 2: then someone will buy it, buy it, Like what was
- 21:41Speaker 2: the Lucifer Show, right.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and it went it was on Fox and
- 21:44Speaker 3: then it went away blue or some ship no.
- 21:46Speaker 2: With to Netflix and then they made new season.
- 21:49Speaker 3: They made new seasons yep.
- 21:50Speaker 2: So I'm like, but I've heard that that, like, because
- 21:53Speaker 2: because when was the last season of that.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Lucifer no Blue monster ship? I don't know. Fuck, long
- 22:00Speaker 3: long time ago.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Six Spike Spike, Yeah, we only had three seasons.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Spike TV was an era where the fuck is Spike TV?
- 22:10Speaker 2: I don't think it exists anymore?
- 22:12Speaker 3: Damn. Yeah.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Can you imagine having a whole network and yo, shit
- 22:16Speaker 1: just becomes defunct.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Well, also imagine in twenty twenty four being like, we
- 22:20Speaker 2: got a network and it's only for men. Oh, they'd
- 22:24Speaker 2: be like cancel. They had like awards too, right, the
- 22:28Speaker 2: Spike Awards.
- 22:29Speaker 3: No.
- 22:29Speaker 2: I thought Spike was fly.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:31Speaker 2: I wish somebody bring back the fucking Man Show. The
- 22:33Speaker 2: Man Show that's Jimmy Kimmel, right and Corolla. Yeah, but
- 22:37Speaker 2: that show could never exist these days. It literally ended
- 22:39Speaker 2: with the chicks and bikinis jumping on a back trampoline,
- 22:42Speaker 2: which was fucking amazing. The credits would roll and it
- 22:45Speaker 2: would just be naked women on trampolines jumping up and
- 22:47Speaker 2: down and their tits would be.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Yeah, too many missing art to ever have a show
- 22:52Speaker 3: like that.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Would you say that you're more passionate about being an
- 22:57Speaker 2: MC or passionate about acting.
- 23:00Speaker 3: That's a good question, man, And you're in here with
- 23:02Speaker 3: a wigg on right now. Oh.
- 23:04Speaker 1: So the reason I have that on is because, like
- 23:08Speaker 1: I'm an advt Shakespearean advocate, like that's what I went
- 23:12Speaker 1: to school for us my favorite play, right, And so
- 23:15Speaker 1: I'm working on this thing to get Shakespeare over to
- 23:20Speaker 1: the culture and to younger people so that they actually
- 23:23Speaker 1: care about it.
- 23:24Speaker 3: And Lendon, well, hear me out and see what you
- 23:27Speaker 3: think exactly. And that's why I'm trying to fix it.
- 23:31Speaker 1: So so I'm I'm blending hip hop culture with Shakespeare,
- 23:36Speaker 1: and I'm creating this thing called Shakespeare for you, right.
- 23:39Speaker 1: And so the first season that we hope to have
- 23:43Speaker 1: is called Macbeth and Compton. And so imagine Macbeth, which
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm sure you don't even know.
- 23:49Speaker 3: What that is.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I know about I know it's one of his famous players.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Ill played on like just recently and got nominated for
- 23:56Speaker 1: Oscar So Macbeth.
- 23:59Speaker 3: He was a movie called yes, and the character's name
- 24:02Speaker 3: is Macbeth.
- 24:02Speaker 2: I think the last one I watched he was in
- 24:04Speaker 2: got nominated Fences.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Oh ship, Yeah, he was doping at But so it's
- 24:09Speaker 1: so imagine Macbeth meets Snowfall, like you know what I'm saying.
- 24:13Speaker 3: And and so what.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Happens is minus the tiger in the basement.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Minus the Jesus please.
- 24:19Speaker 2: They lost me as soon as that scene happened.
- 24:22Speaker 1: So they just said no, snowfalls and ship great and
- 24:26Speaker 1: wonderful until I said.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Nope, Yeah that lost me. That was that was that
- 24:30Speaker 3: was a big wild but no.
- 24:31Speaker 1: So so we're gonna conjunicate those two together and just
- 24:36Speaker 1: so that people that can understand the subtitles won't be
- 24:40Speaker 1: like what we're saying.
- 24:41Speaker 3: It will be like the regular words for you to
- 24:44Speaker 3: understand what.
- 24:45Speaker 2: It actually will be like. So you're gonna still do the.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I'm still going to do the words. It's still going
- 24:50Speaker 1: to be the exact Shakespearean words, but now subtitled for subtitle,
- 24:55Speaker 1: like so they the City of God. Yeah, so instead
- 24:58Speaker 1: of instead of now is the winter of our discontent,
- 25:02Speaker 1: it will say now is the end of our bad times?
- 25:07Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 25:07Speaker 2: Romeo and Juliet with Leo.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good because it made you understood it.
- 25:12Speaker 2: That was a fire movie.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Yeah you got it though, right.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but Romeo and Juliet, you wouldn't hunt no, no
- 25:18Speaker 2: regular Roman.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Yeah you wouldn't.
- 25:19Speaker 1: You wouldn't fuck with that, but you fuck with Leon, right.
- 25:21Speaker 1: So that's what we're doing. We're putting it into a
- 25:24Speaker 1: zeitgeist that you get and you understand, which is the
- 25:27Speaker 1: mid nineties and the hip hop era, like like the
- 25:31Speaker 1: death Row type of era. So imagine two pop and
- 25:35Speaker 1: Snoop Dogg like as these characters that are in Macbeth.
- 25:39Speaker 1: It's gonna be crazy, you know. And I want to
- 25:42Speaker 1: bring that to the world. And every season will do
- 25:44Speaker 1: a different play. So it's like twenty twenty two minute
- 25:47Speaker 1: episodes that go out like per season. And and what is.
- 25:51Speaker 2: The most popular Shakespeare is it Romeo and Juliet probably.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Or Hamlet? No Hamlet?
- 25:58Speaker 2: True?
- 25:59Speaker 1: Maybe you know, neither one of those are my favorites.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Like Richard, I never even heard of it. But but
- 26:08Speaker 1: listen when I tell you, oh, so back to this.
- 26:12Speaker 1: So this is what Macbeth looks like, like MC eight
- 26:17Speaker 1: and Minister Society, you know, what I'm saying. During that
- 26:21Speaker 1: during that time pace, that's my favorite. My favorite time
- 26:25Speaker 1: is the nineties in LA.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Like hip hop or just time.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Yeah, like movies hip hop.
- 26:33Speaker 1: That is like because I'm in Detroit watching that and
- 26:36Speaker 1: seeing ice Cube in wa like like Boys in the Hood,
- 26:40Speaker 1: like all of that time period.
- 26:42Speaker 3: It's so fascinating to me.
- 26:44Speaker 2: And very like, you know, it's kind of like a
- 26:47Speaker 2: snapshot of like a time that you know, for whatever reason,
- 26:54Speaker 2: I don't if I ever get that back.
- 26:55Speaker 3: You know, like you can't.
- 26:57Speaker 2: It's you know, like obviously LA culture still heavily influential,
- 27:01Speaker 2: and people still wear Chucks, and they still wear look.
- 27:04Speaker 1: You got a socks hat on, and they used to
- 27:05Speaker 1: wear the socks hat for sure.
- 27:07Speaker 2: But it's like it's just like that time it was
- 27:09Speaker 2: like it was so new to the rest of the
- 27:10Speaker 2: world and like all these guys got fucking increased dickies
- 27:13Speaker 2: and and the cars. It's just it was just new.
- 27:16Speaker 2: And now with the Internet, everybody kind of has an
- 27:18Speaker 2: idea about what everybody else is doing, so it's not
- 27:20Speaker 2: as like the lawsy this whole theory just dropping of
- 27:24Speaker 2: this new culture nobody knows about outside of California. Just
- 27:27Speaker 2: dropped in the world's lap and you're like, oh shit, lowriders.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Yeah, hydraulic, Yeah, we didn't know about none of that.
- 27:33Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. It's hair, right, Jerry Curls.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yeah, we know, we didn't know about like any of that,
- 27:39Speaker 1: and so so, so, okay, you're not a person who
- 27:44Speaker 1: likes Shakespeare, but based off of what I just told you,
- 27:47Speaker 1: is that something that.
- 27:47Speaker 3: You would be interested in least seeing how that's done?
- 27:50Speaker 2: I check it out.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Yeah, see, and I hope that a lot of other
- 27:55Speaker 3: like young.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Sure, are you trying to get it funded or are
- 27:57Speaker 2: you trying to find a production company to.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Do it with?
- 27:59Speaker 1: So I'm doing it with Terry Crews's production company. We
- 28:02Speaker 1: are in this together, Terry Man.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Legend. Yes, yes, indeed, that's.
- 28:07Speaker 2: About a lot of deodoring.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Old spice, old spice.
- 28:12Speaker 1: You know, Terry and I we went to the same college.
- 28:16Speaker 1: We played for the same college, Western Michigan Universe. Really yeah,
- 28:19Speaker 1: I mean he obviously was before me, but legend, Yeah,
- 28:23Speaker 1: Terry's a legend. And so yeah, we we're trying to
- 28:27Speaker 1: make this happen, like hopefully you.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Typecast to Terry Crews Man, I feel like he's always
- 28:31Speaker 2: just like the real like lovable like Goofy Giant or
- 28:35Speaker 2: the other thing, the scary one, scary one.
- 28:38Speaker 1: I mean, he's going to be in this and this
- 28:40Speaker 1: is gonna be interesting to see Terry you know, well hopefully.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Yeah, now that's dope. Shout out to Terry Crews. And
- 28:46Speaker 2: so that's so that's why, that's why. Yeah, yeah, it
- 28:48Speaker 2: makes sense. So would you say, if you could pick
- 28:51Speaker 2: one or the other, acting or hip hop, what would
- 28:53Speaker 2: it be?
- 28:54Speaker 3: Oh, So that's what I was explaining.
- 28:55Speaker 1: It's very difficult for me because hip hop is my
- 28:58Speaker 1: first love and even now when people like give me laudations,
- 29:02Speaker 1: I prefer it to come from the music because now
- 29:06Speaker 1: when I hear somebody tell me, oh they love me
- 29:08Speaker 1: in this movie, they love me.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Used to that too, Like.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I'm used to that, And I didn't fucking write that
- 29:13Speaker 1: shit like me my music. I rodated that shit from
- 29:17Speaker 1: the inception of it all the way through.
- 29:19Speaker 2: For sure.
- 29:19Speaker 1: It's about my life, it's my passion, and I got
- 29:22Speaker 1: something to say that's important then, you know what I mean?
- 29:24Speaker 2: Yeah, Like the Meg is like a movie, but it's
- 29:26Speaker 2: like you just played a role in someone else exactly.
- 29:29Speaker 2: So yeah, there's not a lot of substance there. It's
- 29:30Speaker 2: got a fucking giant shark. It's like, yeah, thank you,
- 29:33Speaker 2: thanks for watching.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I mean, look, I love it, don't get me wrong.
- 29:36Speaker 1: And I can act for the rest of my life.
- 29:38Speaker 1: I don't know if I can rap for the rest
- 29:39Speaker 1: of my life. So so that's why that's such a
- 29:41Speaker 1: tough question for me, because like I'm gonna act forever,
- 29:44Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm want to be able to
- 29:45Speaker 1: rap forever, you know what I mean. But my true
- 29:51Speaker 1: passion is the music, because that's my therapy, that's my everything,
- 29:55Speaker 1: Like the type of music that I make, Like I'm
- 29:57Speaker 1: like the most diverse actor slash rapp in the world
- 30:01Speaker 1: because I don't.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I don't.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I'm not just like in one box. I do comedy
- 30:04Speaker 1: as well as I do drama. I do Shakespeare like
- 30:06Speaker 1: my music. No, that's I'm too pussy for that.
- 30:10Speaker 3: But I serious in the world.
- 30:15Speaker 2: I'm too you're gonna, You're gonna everybody goes up there
- 30:20Speaker 2: and bomb they you have to bomb your way through it.
- 30:22Speaker 1: I'm too sensitive. I'm too sensitive that so I can't
- 30:27Speaker 1: do stand up. But far as the music, I do
- 30:29Speaker 1: straight bars like battle raps, like socially conscious music, bops vibes,
- 30:33Speaker 1: like storytelling, which is obviously my biggest thing, you.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Know what I mean.
- 30:38Speaker 1: So it's it's just the amalgamation of things that I
- 30:42Speaker 1: have to offer in both places are at the same level. Usually,
- 30:45Speaker 1: if you got an actor slash rapper, they do one better
- 30:48Speaker 1: than the other. But me, like you know what I'm saying,
- 30:51Speaker 1: I do both equally as good.
- 30:54Speaker 3: I'm just ruminating right now.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Ice c Ice Cubes pretty good at both. But Ice
- 30:59Speaker 2: Cubes like all time great rapper. I don't think he's
- 31:03Speaker 2: an all time great actor, but he's made some all
- 31:05Speaker 2: time great movies.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Right uh.
- 31:09Speaker 1: And then you also got to think way better. You
- 31:11Speaker 1: gotta think about way better. Who's doing it now both?
- 31:14Speaker 1: Who's doing both things right now?
- 31:16Speaker 3: Prevailing? You know there's t I there's Donald.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Oh, Donald Glover. Listen. You gotta give it to Donald. Really,
- 31:25Speaker 2: he rapped you think Donald Glo listen. I think if
- 31:29Speaker 2: you go back and you listen to like because the Internet,
- 31:34Speaker 2: and I just think I think Donald Glover is a
- 31:37Speaker 2: very high level artist, creative, YEP, actor because even his
- 31:45Speaker 2: last album, well that's one of my favorite albums to do.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Sch Rooms too. That's such a fucking great album, the
- 31:53Speaker 2: trip Ball, Like, dude, fucking yeah, I think.
- 31:55Speaker 1: He's an incredible creative, you know when I watch his
- 31:59Speaker 1: act then and and I think he definitely does his job.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Did you like, Yeah, I thought it was really good. Yeah,
- 32:08Speaker 2: And it was short, it was quick, and it was
- 32:09Speaker 2: random as fuck.
- 32:10Speaker 3: But it was like random, it was good.
- 32:12Speaker 2: It was different, like the last episode at the theme
- 32:14Speaker 2: park was just Trippi at fuck, but I fucked with it.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Auditioned for that show, I think, auditioned for one of
- 32:20Speaker 1: the cops in the first episode.
- 32:22Speaker 3: And then they didn't even have the cops be black.
- 32:25Speaker 3: The cops were white. Yeah, and they weren't even like,
- 32:28Speaker 3: like what I did is not even like what right?
- 32:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a good show since's but he wasn't acting.
- 32:35Speaker 2: He literally played himself, right, So it's different, But I
- 32:39Speaker 2: mean it's not different. You gotta also kind of be
- 32:41Speaker 2: like you could play yourself, but you also got to
- 32:44Speaker 2: kind of know how to get lines off and like
- 32:46Speaker 2: make it believable and not be awkward on camera exactly.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Oh you know what, you know, somebody I want to
- 32:51Speaker 1: mention that I personally really fuck with actor Slash rapper wise,
- 32:55Speaker 1: that's like doing both.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Now is is Joy Badass?
- 32:58Speaker 2: For sure?
- 32:59Speaker 1: I think Joey Badass is a dope MC. And then
- 33:02Speaker 1: he's such a dope actor, like and he has range facts.
- 33:06Speaker 1: See I care about like range.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Because he was on he did the Wu Tang Ship,
- 33:10Speaker 2: he did the is Any on one of the Power spinoffs.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Yeah, he's on the Raisin Kane and he killed listen.
- 33:16Speaker 3: He's so good. I study him.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I would be honest with you. I'm such chump, you're
- 33:22Speaker 2: what fan of the Wire that when I try to
- 33:25Speaker 2: get into Power, this ship was just a little too like, uh,
- 33:29Speaker 2: it was just a little too unbelievable for me. I
- 33:31Speaker 2: got like three episodes in and I was like, you
- 33:33Speaker 2: know what, I'm gonna sit it out.
- 33:36Speaker 3: And you exited from all of the Power universes.
- 33:40Speaker 2: I haven't watched one of my best you know, one
- 33:43Speaker 2: of my best friends in the world is Freddy Gibbs.
- 33:45Speaker 2: He was in one of those spinoffs and I never.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Freddy Gibbs was in Hest Crazy. Yeah, he
- 33:50Speaker 1: was in Power Force. I nevert he did a good job. No,
- 33:53Speaker 1: he's a good actor.
- 33:54Speaker 2: He was in another show that was on Peacock that
- 33:57Speaker 2: he played a casino manager. It was a that was
- 34:00Speaker 2: two years ago. He did, he did agree. He's a
- 34:02Speaker 2: good actor. He just he just had a movie on Netflix,
- 34:06Speaker 2: Down with the King, which is really good. But yeah,
- 34:09Speaker 2: I think, like, you know, I feel like acting and
- 34:12Speaker 2: rapping is you know, there's there's there's got to be
- 34:16Speaker 2: some even if it's like five percent common ground, Like
- 34:19Speaker 2: you've got to be vulnerable in front of strangers. Right
- 34:23Speaker 2: to me, that's the hardest part is like and when
- 34:24Speaker 2: I think about acting or even stand up, like we
- 34:26Speaker 2: were talking about, it's like the ability to not be
- 34:29Speaker 2: awkward in front of people while doing art.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Well. You know.
- 34:33Speaker 1: The crazy thing about that is I think that I
- 34:36Speaker 1: could be awkward in front of like a lot of people, like,
- 34:40Speaker 1: which is one of the reasons like I you know,
- 34:43Speaker 1: I don't think I do well and like just random
- 34:46Speaker 1: public speaking, Like if you put me in a room,
- 34:48Speaker 1: I can be like fun, silly, wait, but like if
- 34:51Speaker 1: you put me on the stage and I just got
- 34:52Speaker 1: to talk to people, like that's not something that's written,
- 34:55Speaker 1: I would be matt uncomfortable with that. But like as
- 34:58Speaker 1: an actor, you know, you got mad takes. Like if
- 35:01Speaker 1: I mess up, then I could do it again, you know.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Uh.
- 35:05Speaker 3: I mean it's kind of tough to do as a rapper, but.
- 35:07Speaker 2: But even like fucking up and takes like you got
- 35:10Speaker 2: hell of fools around you, the director, you got your
- 35:12Speaker 2: co stars.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Oh they in the brain like and then in.
- 35:15Speaker 2: My head, I'm thinking like, damn, I'm annoying the co
- 35:17Speaker 2: star because they got their uns right now.
- 35:19Speaker 3: They got I barely got some lines. This mother got
- 35:21Speaker 3: a whole monologue.
- 35:22Speaker 2: So I'm saying, it's like.
- 35:25Speaker 3: You can't do it. You know, would you do skits?
- 35:28Speaker 3: Would you? Like?
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yes? So that is something I thought about doing. Not skits,
- 35:32Speaker 2: but I fuck with the like Shane Gillis and his partner,
- 35:37Speaker 2: they do these like SNL style skits on YouTube, and
- 35:42Speaker 2: I was just thinking, like me and my co host
- 35:44Speaker 2: James Andre Jefferson JUNR on the radio show.
- 35:46Speaker 1: He shot out the James, yeah funny, super funny guy,
- 35:50Speaker 1: and so we were thinking, like, yo, we should start
- 35:52Speaker 1: kind of like writing like real small like three to
- 35:55Speaker 1: five minutes skits.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Getting pure spaces is just filming them, but having them
- 35:59Speaker 2: be like fucking super fucked, like just like some dark
- 36:03Speaker 2: comedy shit. Just see what happens. Just for fun.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I think y'all should because listen, like I said, like
- 36:07Speaker 1: James is fucking that dude.
- 36:09Speaker 2: We always we got great ideas, but a lot of
- 36:11Speaker 2: the ideas that we have are like, you know, they're
- 36:16Speaker 2: pretty sad.
- 36:17Speaker 3: You can't even say it.
- 36:18Speaker 2: No, not just like playing there was a squirrel, right nah,
- 36:21Speaker 2: like just playing with a lot of the like shit
- 36:23Speaker 2: that's like super sensitive right now, like and just like
- 36:26Speaker 2: making fun of it, you know, right right right right, like, yeah,
- 36:29Speaker 2: we got some ideas. Sorry, guys, we had an audio
- 36:32Speaker 2: function malfunction. Let's just jump ahead. We're talking about his mixtape.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Logic's on it. Logic shout out to Logic.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Logic got an adupe movie that he wrote that he's
- 36:45Speaker 2: a movie fanatic. He's always had all of obviously he's
- 36:48Speaker 2: a big Tarantino guy. And I feel like all his
- 36:50Speaker 2: albums have some sort of theme to them.
- 36:53Speaker 3: So and he's smart and he's funny, and.
- 36:55Speaker 2: He's written a book. Was a supermarket yep. Yeah, so
- 36:59Speaker 2: he's got He showed you it is like did you
- 37:01Speaker 2: see a movie?
- 37:02Speaker 3: No, I read it.
- 37:02Speaker 2: You read it? You read the script?
- 37:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I read this, And I don't even like
- 37:06Speaker 3: reading scripts.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Honestly, I know that's sound crazy like for an actor,
- 37:08Speaker 1: not like reading scripts, and someone would like a stellar vocabulary.
- 37:13Speaker 1: It is myself not like reading, but I don't, but
- 37:16Speaker 1: I read. I read his script. Well, I kind of
- 37:19Speaker 1: read the script. I use this thing where Snoop Dogg
- 37:22Speaker 1: read it to me. There's a there's a there's a
- 37:27Speaker 1: there's this app that you can get where it'll read
- 37:31Speaker 1: to you and other people's voices. So Snoop Dogg is
- 37:34Speaker 1: one of the voices that you can choose. I gotta
- 37:37Speaker 1: I gotta look at it on my phone. But it's
- 37:39Speaker 1: it's so far. I hear Snoop, he Snoop. You know,
- 37:41Speaker 1: I'm reading logic script in your voice.
- 37:45Speaker 3: It's like, yo, cuz, let me tell you something real quick.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Like like it was dope, but the script is fire man. Yeah,
- 37:53Speaker 1: So Logic is on my project. So I have ten.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I have ten projects. I have I have five, you know,
- 38:00Speaker 1: like regular albums, and then I got like five mixtapes
- 38:05Speaker 1: straight bars mixtapes, and at the end the last song
- 38:08Speaker 1: on each mixtape has a posse track with only Incredible
- 38:12Speaker 1: MC's and you know, I got Crooked Eye l ZI Mix,
- 38:17Speaker 1: Mickey Facts Rays, the five nine three D nine t
- 38:21Speaker 1: Uh Cassidy King los Uh and on this most recent
- 38:26Speaker 1: one is Chris Rivers Mickey Facts.
- 38:29Speaker 3: So Rock who's super dope and logic is on on
- 38:33Speaker 3: that one.
- 38:34Speaker 1: So you know, I just want to showcase Spinners because
- 38:37Speaker 1: I don't I don't want like listen. We got the
- 38:41Speaker 1: fun music, we got the lip music, the ship that
- 38:44Speaker 1: like my son's like that. It's all important, Yeah, but
- 38:48Speaker 1: we also need to hear somebody that actually took their
- 38:52Speaker 1: time to fucking write a bar as opposed to.
- 38:55Speaker 2: This freestyle or an Instagram caption exactly when someone disses
- 38:58Speaker 2: you directly and you right two Instagram captions in a
- 39:01Speaker 2: week instead of replying.
- 39:03Speaker 1: I think he's referring to some light skinned guy who's the.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Most disappointed or whatever. It's been seven days and we
- 39:11Speaker 2: got two ig captions and a rant on stage.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Because he thinks he's like, bro, I'm I'm I'm busy
- 39:16Speaker 1: like on tour.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Oh he gave Drake that or he gave Meek Mill
- 39:19Speaker 2: that action though like he did right away.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Damn he had time today back.
- 39:23Speaker 2: To back too, literally back to back.
- 39:26Speaker 1: I know that's funny. Hey, he took too long for that.
- 39:29Speaker 1: I remember when that beef was going on. I actually
- 39:35Speaker 1: made Charged up. Remember he put Charged Up out and
- 39:38Speaker 1: then it went away and I redid charge charged up
- 39:41Speaker 1: in Drake's.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Voice because charged that was very very uh, it was
- 39:46Speaker 2: like kind of this. But then back to Back was
- 39:48Speaker 2: the back to back ship. So then I did that
- 39:50Speaker 2: and then I was like, I was like, yo, Meek's done.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I really thought Mik was over with. I mean, and
- 39:57Speaker 2: he's kind of might be, but you know, he's a
- 39:58Speaker 2: good guy, nice guy. He's Meek Mill. He's a legend,
- 40:01Speaker 2: you know. But I think it helped when him and
- 40:05Speaker 2: Drake because Dream Chasers four came out and it was
- 40:08Speaker 2: really good. Yeah, but people acted like it wasn't really good,
- 40:11Speaker 2: and I was like, yo, this dream Chase is forced.
- 40:13Speaker 2: It's hard, but everybody still had that beef stench and
- 40:17Speaker 2: then they squashed their beef. And I feel like it
- 40:19Speaker 2: kind of helped everything.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Don't he has something now or something?
- 40:24Speaker 2: He just dropped the eph a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, yeah,
- 40:28Speaker 2: shot to Meek shout out to meet. But I would
- 40:30Speaker 2: like to see Drake or I think Cole.
- 40:34Speaker 3: I think people really want to hear from Cole.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I at least can appreciate that Cole hasn't put up passive,
- 40:39Speaker 2: aggressive Instagram captions instead of replying because Cole, I think
- 40:44Speaker 2: is gonna I think. I don't think Drake's gonna reply.
- 40:47Speaker 2: I think he'll reply in like six months on a
- 40:49Speaker 2: guest verse.
- 40:50Speaker 3: It's gonna be subtle.
- 40:51Speaker 2: It's gonna be super subtle. I think Cole is gonna reply.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I don't think Cole's going I think I think Cole.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Wants that smoke?
- 40:59Speaker 3: Does he?
- 40:59Speaker 1: Cole should want the smoke because he's been rapping better
- 41:02Speaker 1: than everybody else going on. Everybody needs to show why
- 41:09Speaker 1: he didn't. Didn't Kendrick say that. He was like, let's see,
- 41:13Speaker 1: let's see if he really want these problems because because Coben.
- 41:17Speaker 2: The thing about Colon Kendrick is they're they're so you know,
- 41:22Speaker 2: they were they recorded and they were supposed to a
- 41:24Speaker 2: joint album together, and I look at both of them
- 41:27Speaker 2: in the same light in terms of, like, they don't
- 41:29Speaker 2: do goofy ship. They're both top tier artists, they don't like,
- 41:33Speaker 2: they don't do any like cloudy weirdo ship. So I
- 41:37Speaker 2: was just like a little intrigued by Kendrick. I think
- 41:42Speaker 2: Kendrick took first person shooter as like a direct shot
- 41:46Speaker 2: towards him, towards him.
- 41:47Speaker 3: So I think so that's why he did that.
- 41:50Speaker 2: I mean it has to be I liked. I mean, listen,
- 41:53Speaker 2: I hope Cole if we could get some sort of
- 41:55Speaker 2: random like Cole Kendrick. I don't think Drakes were playing,
- 42:00Speaker 2: but if it was like a Cole Kendrick like Cold
- 42:02Speaker 2: War for like a year, it would be fire.
- 42:04Speaker 1: You you really think Cole is gonna because what what
- 42:07Speaker 1: he What is he going to do? I think outlasting
- 42:10Speaker 1: the whole song?
- 42:12Speaker 2: Think. I think cal is a killer for sure. I
- 42:14Speaker 2: think he will. I think he's working on it right now.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I think he can. He does, think he has the ability.
- 42:20Speaker 1: I just don't know if I think Drake shaking in
- 42:23Speaker 1: his boots, I don't think. I don't think Drake wants
- 42:25Speaker 1: to smoke because I think Drake knows when he's out matched,
- 42:28Speaker 1: which is why he didn't reply to push your Tea.
- 42:30Speaker 1: I think he knows when he's outmatched. I think he's
- 42:32Speaker 1: really good at the cute little like light jabs.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Or if they stopped.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Him from replying to push your t they said, J course,
- 42:39Speaker 1: that's what they say. They said that this is going
- 42:42Speaker 1: to be go too far? Isn't that what JA Prince
- 42:44Speaker 1: said that he had did it?
- 42:45Speaker 2: That's a that's a very cute excuse, because who's gonna say,
- 42:50Speaker 2: J Prince, you're it's a cute excuse. Push a t
- 42:56Speaker 2: came at you so crazy, fucked up your sneaker, rollout
- 43:00Speaker 2: exposed your son, talked about your man forty and didn't
- 43:04Speaker 2: get nothing back.
- 43:06Speaker 3: Drake, he's formenting you.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Shout out to Drake. I think Drake's an all time great.
- 43:10Speaker 2: I love his music, but I want him to like you.
- 43:15Speaker 2: He wants to be like dog if you're supposed to
- 43:17Speaker 2: be the greatest of all time like people. Some people say,
- 43:20Speaker 2: I don't say that, but some people say it, bro,
- 43:22Speaker 2: now's your time have your jay z Nas moment.
- 43:27Speaker 3: But it's against Kendrick.
- 43:30Speaker 2: And I'm sure people said to Hove, it's Nas. You
- 43:33Speaker 2: don't want that. And you know what he did? He
- 43:35Speaker 2: signed up.
- 43:38Speaker 1: I feel like Jay and Nis were more commensurate than
- 43:42Speaker 1: then Drake.
- 43:43Speaker 2: No, I think Drake is a Kendrick. I think Drake
- 43:45Speaker 2: is a top tier lyricist, so do.
- 43:47Speaker 3: I, but not like Kendrick is Kendrick and Cole ik.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Kendrick is a god level rapper, right, I feel like
- 43:54Speaker 1: I know if Drake is a god level rapper. I
- 43:56Speaker 1: think he's a super dope rapper and he's clever, and
- 44:00Speaker 1: he keep that same fucking uh pocket that he wraps in.
- 44:05Speaker 2: But Kendrick is different.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Man. Yeah, Kendrick, you don't know where he coming from.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Kendrick fucking with the White Walkers and fucking Game of Thrones, bro, Like,
- 44:13Speaker 2: you just don't know how to kill him or exactly
- 44:14Speaker 2: how do we kill this dish is crazy?
- 44:16Speaker 3: Exactly?
- 44:17Speaker 2: He turned the dragon and do a fucking white Walker?
- 44:19Speaker 2: What are we supposed to do here?
- 44:20Speaker 3: Exactly?
- 44:21Speaker 2: And then you know, Drake's like, fucking uh you know, uh.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Who's a nice comparison that gave his throats to Drake
- 44:29Speaker 2: is he's He's like the kid who got poisoned, the
- 44:36Speaker 2: young kid no Ei, the one who jumps out the window.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Remember, Yeah, oh for sure.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Yeah that was interesting. Speaking of shows that we're talking about,
- 44:49Speaker 2: the shitty endings, shitty endings.
- 44:52Speaker 1: You thought Game of Thrones at a shitty ending the
- 44:54Speaker 1: whole season or just that one episode.
- 44:57Speaker 2: I hated the fact that they killed the white Walker
- 44:59Speaker 2: so fast. It was like that to me, that war
- 45:02Speaker 2: should have went on like a half a season. The
- 45:04Speaker 2: whole fucking show led up to that.
- 45:06Speaker 1: And I mean it was one episode of just fighting
- 45:09Speaker 1: that was pretty intense.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but they just and then Kalisi's turning, He'll turn
- 45:15Speaker 2: was too quick all of a sudden, this bitch was
- 45:18Speaker 2: just terrible. I'm like, we loved her all, like, you
- 45:21Speaker 2: gotta slowly build up to like her becoming like a villain,
- 45:25Speaker 2: and they just it was like a one episode He'll Turn.
- 45:28Speaker 2: It was like such a slow, methodical show up until
- 45:32Speaker 2: the end, and then they just hit fast forward on
- 45:34Speaker 2: a bunch of bullshit and then it was weak. Shout
- 45:37Speaker 2: out to the Game of Thrones.
- 45:38Speaker 3: Shurst out the Game of Thrones.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Great show though, oh, he said, shout out the Game
- 45:42Speaker 1: of Thrones like the first ones until the finale came. Look,
- 45:45Speaker 1: I enjoyed finale because I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan.
- 45:48Speaker 1: I watched it four times, so it's a great show.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I'm biased. Oh, it's a great show. I didn't I
- 45:53Speaker 1: haven't watched.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Wait, are you a breaking bad fan?
- 45:55Speaker 2: Of course?
- 45:56Speaker 3: Better?
- 45:56Speaker 2: Cass all you know what's so crazy because my wife
- 46:01Speaker 2: hasn't decided to actually sit down and watch Better Call
- 46:05Speaker 2: Saw with me. I have listen. I watched the first
- 46:07Speaker 2: four episodes.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Man, that's not enough.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Just as good and Breaking Bad is the greatest show ever.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Not the Wire. Maybe it's not the Wire, but it's
- 46:19Speaker 2: number two.
- 46:20Speaker 3: You think the Wire is better than Breaking Bad?

- 50:38Speaker 1: No, the first Meg was killed and then there was
- 50:41Speaker 1: like a boat and then another one came and.
