Speaker 2: the Book of Revelation is the only book in the

Speaker 2: Bible that promises a blessing to those who read it

Speaker 2: and keep it. Now that's in Revelation chapter one, verse three. Now,

Speaker 2: of course we are blessed if we read God's word

Speaker 2: in general, but this promises a specific blessing if we

Speaker 2: read it and if we keep it. So get ready

Speaker 2: to be blessed. We're gonna bless your socks of today. Man,

Speaker 2: So Revelation chapter one through three. And I'm coming at

Speaker 2: you from the new King James. The Revelation of Jesus Christ,

Speaker 2: which God gave him to show his servants things which

Speaker 2: must shortly take place, and he sent is signified it

Speaker 2: by his Angel to his servant John. Now we're talking

Speaker 2: about John. They call him John the Revelator. He is

Speaker 2: one of the original disciples out of the twelve that

Speaker 2: walked with Jesus. At this point, he's probably in his nineties.

Speaker 2: John was approximately the same age of Jesus Christ. He

Speaker 2: was the only one left alive from the original crew. Now,

Speaker 2: history tells us that all the other apostles were killed,

Speaker 2: they were martyred for their faith, except for John. Now,

Speaker 2: they attempted to kill John. And we don't have this

Speaker 2: in the Bible, but if you look up, you know

Speaker 2: the history and some historical historical text about what happened

Speaker 2: to the apostles. And I believe there's a great book.

Speaker 2: I haven't read it myself, but I heard of the

Speaker 2: book called the Fox's Book of Martyrs. Might be a

Speaker 2: great book to look up and read. Well, we're told

Speaker 2: that the Roman government killed all the other apostles, and

Speaker 2: they tried to kill John by boiling him in oil.

Speaker 2: They tried to boil him in oil, but it didn't work.

Speaker 2: It was uneffective because God wasn't finished with him yet.

Speaker 2: God wanted the apostle John to write the Book of Revelations,

Speaker 2: so they ended up exiling him to the island of Patmos.

Speaker 2: They exiled him, and this is where he received this revelation.

Speaker 2: This is where he received the assignment to write this book.

Speaker 2: He also John and his gospels. He would always refer

Speaker 2: himself to the one whom Jesus loves. Right, so we're

Speaker 2: gonna get some great insight that John had received from

Speaker 2: our Lord. And also in the gospels he mentions that

Speaker 2: he outran Peter to the tomb, so he was a

Speaker 2: fast runner, at least he was faster than Peter. So

Speaker 2: that's some of the background about our beloved John as

Speaker 2: he gives us this book, this revelation that was received. Now,

Speaker 2: the word revelation comes from the Greek word apocalypse, which

Speaker 2: means the unveiling. Now, over the years, there has been

Speaker 2: a mis understanding about the Book of Revelation. A lot

Speaker 2: of Christians would not read it because they would say

Speaker 2: that this book was veiled, that this book was like

Speaker 2: a or hidden or or something like that. But no,

Speaker 2: apocalypse is opposite. It means the unveiling of something. I

Speaker 2: don't know if you've been to an event where they

Speaker 2: unveiled a statue or unveiled something. You have something behind

Speaker 2: a curtain and the anticipated moment comes and they open

Speaker 2: up the curtain and you get to see the statue

Speaker 2: or the new car or whatever it may be. And

Speaker 2: I guess modern day we would call that the unboxing videos.

Speaker 2: You know, have you ever watched somebody get a new

Speaker 2: package and they film themselves opening the box, and it

Speaker 2: amazes me how they get hundreds and millions of views

Speaker 2: just by opening a box of something. So a lot

Speaker 2: of people got paid just by unboxing certain items. So

Speaker 2: I don't know, I guess you know, that's something we

Speaker 2: need to start doing. We need to start opening some

Speaker 2: packages online so we can get some go viral or something.

Speaker 2: But anyway, so that's the unveiling. So the word means

Speaker 2: the unveiling. God wants to show us something. God wants

Speaker 2: to give us a revelation, and it is the revelation

Speaker 2: of Jesus Christ. This book is not about hidden codes

Speaker 2: or fear, but about revealing Jesus Christ in glory and

Speaker 2: in his majesty. We're gonna see Jesus in a different

Speaker 2: way that we saw him in the Four Gospels. In

Speaker 2: the four Gospels, we saw him coming in peace, we

Speaker 2: saw him writing on a donkey, we saw him meek

Speaker 2: and lowly. But this revelation is the exact opposite. We're

Speaker 2: going to see Jesus Christ as the glorious king and

Speaker 2: see him in his majesty, and this is going to

Speaker 2: be amazing, So fasten you see, belts. Now, the key

Speaker 2: to understanding revelation is to see Jesus Christ at the

Speaker 2: center of everything. We have to see him as the

Speaker 2: center of it all. Now let's look at verse three.

Speaker 2: Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the

Speaker 2: words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are

Speaker 2: written in it. Or the time is near, Amen. I

Speaker 2: want to emphasize the time is near. Just imagine how

Speaker 2: near the time is reference to when this book was
13:55
Speaker 2: first written almost two thousand years ago. We can tell

Speaker 2: we can fill it in the air. We know that

Speaker 2: the time is near. Now, there's a triple blessing in

Speaker 2: this book. The first blessing is those who read it.

Speaker 2: The second is for those who hear it. So I'm

Speaker 2: reading it, amen, you are hearing it, amen. And the

Speaker 2: third is those who keep it. We're all going to

Speaker 2: keep it together. Amen. So there's a triple blessing if

Speaker 2: who is and who was, and who is to come. Now,

Speaker 2: that's the eternal nature of God, who is, who was,

Speaker 2: who is to come. Time is only relative to us

Speaker 2: on planet Earth. We rotate around the Sun. The Earth

Speaker 2: rotates on its access and so we get time, we

Speaker 2: get years, days and months. As soon as we believe

Speaker 2: this earth, it's gonna go straight into eternity and we

Speaker 2: can understand better who is, who was, and who is

Speaker 2: to come. Now, John's greeting comes from the Trinity. The

Speaker 2: Trinity is all up in this right. So if you

Speaker 2: look at y the Father, who is and who was,

Speaker 2: and who is to come. When we look at the

Speaker 2: Holy Spirit, the seven spirits who are before his throne,

Speaker 2: now a reference to the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

Speaker 2: Seven is a number of completeness. We had seven days

Speaker 2: of the week. We haven't We have seven notes on

Speaker 2: the scale seven always represents completeness, and we see that

Speaker 2: in the seven spirits that are before the throne. Now,

Speaker 2: Jesus Christ also is the faithful witness, the first born

Speaker 2: that gives us hope even in death, that we will

Speaker 2: be born again. And that's where we get the turn.

Speaker 2: Now Jesus is introduced with three powerful titles. Here. One

Speaker 2: is faithful witness. He speaks truth even unto death. So

Speaker 2: Jesus is a faithful witness. He spoke truth even when

Speaker 2: he was facing opposition, even when he faced controversy. He

Speaker 2: always spoke truth. And we need to follow suit. Amen.

Speaker 2: let's go to verse six. Verse six reminds us he

Speaker 2: has made us kings and priests to his God and Father.

Speaker 2: priests to his God and Father. See, that is your

Speaker 2: true identity. You're not just a Christian. You're royal and

Speaker 2: you're in royal training. It's like a royal family. Have

Speaker 2: ancient England or something like that, and you watch a

Speaker 2: royal family and they're teaching and training their children or

Speaker 2: prince or princess or whatever it may be, and they're

Speaker 2: training them how to one day become a king and

Speaker 2: become a priest, and how to behave as royalty. Well,

Speaker 2: this is our training. This is what the Bible is

Speaker 2: all about. The instruction that we receive. Should I say

Speaker 2: the Bible is about Jesus, But the instruction we receive

Speaker 2: is how to live in our true calling, how to

Speaker 2: live as royalty. But I do want to give a

Speaker 2: personal note. If you have people in your life that

Speaker 2: treat you less than this, there's a temptation to forget

Speaker 2: our value. There's a temptation to forget that we are royalty.

Speaker 2: And maybe you have a spouse that likes to talk

Speaker 2: to you in a disrespectful way, treat you in a

Speaker 2: disrespectful way. Maybe you have a sibling that speaks to

Speaker 2: you and treats you in that disrespectful way. Maybe you're

Speaker 2: on a job. Your coworkers, your bosses, your supervisors, they

Speaker 2: don't see your value. They don't see that you are royalty.

Speaker 2: They don't see that you have been born into a

Speaker 2: royal family. They don't know that your father is the

Speaker 2: king of kings and lord of lords. Do not believe

Speaker 2: you lie. Do not believe that you are who they

Speaker 2: treat you. That's not your identity. How they treat you

Speaker 2: is not who you are. That's not your identity. How

Speaker 2: they speak to you as now who you are, that

Speaker 2: is not your true identity. You have to get your

Speaker 2: true identity from what God says about you and from

Speaker 2: side note Amen. So let's go to verse seven. Behold,

Speaker 2: Now let's break this down. This verse points to the

Speaker 2: second coming of Christ, and this is not the rapture

Speaker 2: right now. The rapture will be done in secret. The

Speaker 2: rapture says that in the twinking of an eye we

Speaker 2: will be caught up together to meet the Lord in

Speaker 2: the air. The rapture the Bible says, as I believe

Speaker 2: He is coming to take his bride off the earth.

Speaker 2: He's coming to take the church. I believe in a

Speaker 2: about the Jehovah's witnesses real quick. They teach the second

Speaker 2: Coming of Christ with secret. They're saying that he came

Speaker 2: back in the I believe the eighteen hundreds or nineteen

Speaker 2: eighteen nineteen or something, or I can't remember the dignit

Speaker 2: they reference. But they believe that he came back already,

Speaker 2: and he's somewhere in secret. He's got a secret headquarter

Speaker 2: somewhere here on earth, and I'm not sure what he's doing.

Speaker 2: I don't know if he's ruling the world or if

Speaker 2: he's I don't know. But the second coming to Christ

Speaker 2: will be public to everyone. Now, a little bit about

Speaker 2: the Joba's witnesses. They believe that, well over the years

Speaker 2: they prophesied the return of Christ, that every prophecy was wrong.

Speaker 2: They prophesied different dates, they would go to certain arenas

Speaker 2: to welcome the Lord. They thought they knew when he

Speaker 2: was coming. They were waiting for him to come, and

Speaker 2: he didn't come, he didn't appear, And it's happened multiple times,

Speaker 2: so I believe finally the last time, they just said

Speaker 2: he came in secret. I mean that was pretty easy, right.

Speaker 2: I think that's kind of like an escape though, say

Speaker 2: that anybody I could say, Hey, Tupac is still alive somewhere,

Speaker 2: living in secret, and so ever since then, I believe

Speaker 2: they stopped prophesying his return. So so anyway, don't let

Speaker 2: anyone deceive you. Read your Bible, read your word. It

Speaker 2: says that every eye will see when he returns. And

Speaker 2: like I said, this is different from the rapture. Every

Speaker 2: eye is not gonna see him when he comes to

Speaker 2: get his church. That's one of the reasons why I
