- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, Adam here. If you play golf, or for that
- 0:43matter any competitive sport, you probably know what it feels
- 0:47like to feel anxious in certain situations.
- 0:51And maybe it's playing with someone that you've never played
- 0:53with before, or maybe it's. People watching you or?
- 0:58Joining a group where there is certain expectations.
- 1:01On how well. You're going to do.
- 1:03Well. In this particular session that
- 1:06you're about to listen to, I was working with a client that we're
- 1:09fine when they were playing with their.
- 1:10Friends but. If they were playing some kind
- 1:12of competition, or if in particular they were.
- 1:15Playing with men. They felt that they had to
- 1:19either play at a higher level or if they were better than someone
- 1:25else, almost reduce how good they were to not make the other
- 1:28person feel bad. So whatever was happening, they
- 1:31either felt an expectation they had to play really well or lower
- 1:35their. Performance either.
- 1:36Way they're not really playing their own game, this hypnosis
- 1:40session enables them to. Break.
- 1:42Free of all of the limiting beliefs and mainly expectations
- 1:47that they had. That was.
- 1:49Really interfering because these beliefs put more pressure on
- 1:53themselves and when there was pressure they paid worse.
- 1:57And then it became a a cycle, a self fulfilling prophecy.
- 2:00So if you can relate to the idea of feeling anxious.
- 2:04Or pressured. When you're playing golf or any
- 2:07other sport, you might get some value from this.
- 2:09You'll get more value if you're a golfer.
- 2:12But I think at its core, it's about releasing unuseful beliefs
- 2:16and unuseful expectations of how well you have to play.
- 2:21It was created for an individual.
- 2:23Some of the suggestions are going to be entirely calibrated
- 2:26to them. So therefore, if you like the
- 2:29idea of having a bespoke session, check out the link in
- 2:32the description and you'll see that you can book a free
- 2:34consultation call to explore Working with me.
- 2:37You might get some value from this session though, even though
- 2:39it was created for someone else to find a quiet, comfortable
- 2:43place. The kind of place where you
- 2:44won't be distracted or interrupted.
- 2:47Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 3:11you breathe in, breathe. In that long.
- 3:15Slow relaxing breath and as you. Exhale just.
- 3:21Allow your eyelids to close and as they close, position your
- 3:26body. In such a.
- 3:27Way that makes it easier to relax deeply.
- 3:34That's it. Breathing in, relaxation,
- 3:41exhaling tension. Each breath takes you deeper and
- 3:50deeper. Relaxed.
- 3:51That's it. And I don't know how soon you
- 3:57notice that the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed.
- 4:03You become and the more relaxed you become.
- 4:07The deeper you breathe and the more relaxed you become.
- 4:14The more you can feel your body slowing down.
- 4:19Thoughts, a breath, a heartbeat. That's it.
- 4:28Notice the weight. Of your body.
- 4:31And the rhythm of that breathing slowing it down.
- 4:35Longer and deeper. And maybe.
- 4:39You notice that subtle shift? The one that happens when your
- 4:43mind begins to relax and settle. Because right now you're
- 4:51entering a space where that in a chatter and noise, quietens.
- 5:00And certain truths become easier to see.
- 5:08And I wonder if you. Could imagine stepping out.
- 5:10Onto a long. Beautifully maintained path.
- 5:15A path. That leads.
- 5:16Towards a golf course at sunrise.
- 5:21Those sunrise colours are. Softer.
- 5:23Here, the air crisp, gentle, and the light stretching across the
- 5:31grass like a colorful invitation.
- 5:38With each step, each stride forward, give permission to let
- 5:43go of tension. Take that step and release
- 5:52another step and release each step, perhaps synchronizing with
- 6:02each outward breath, taking you deeper and deeper, relaxed until
- 6:09your body feels lighter and your mind clearer and that part
- 6:17within you that performs at your.
- 6:19Best. The calm, confident, elegant
- 6:24part starts to rise to the surface.
- 6:32Maybe you could imagine standing in front of a tee and feel a
- 6:38subtle shift in your perspective.
- 6:44You've been thinking the pressure has come from other
- 6:46people, situations, audiences. But now.
- 6:52You know the truth, the pressure you.
- 6:56Feel has never been coming from other people.
- 7:02You're the source. Of that pressure, it was always
- 7:06manufactured inside your mind as a habit and not a fact, and
- 7:14habits can dissolve. Because there's habits.
- 7:19Used to have as a child that you don't have any more.
- 7:22So you know that's true. And as you breathe gently, just
- 7:28imagine exhaling that. Old pressure.
- 7:36That's it. Each.
- 7:38Breath. Makes the mind even more relaxed
- 7:43and each breath separates. What's?
- 7:46Truly important. From what never was.
- 7:57There's a phrase that pops into your mind.
- 7:59Your brain process over outcome. I don't want you to imagine one
- 8:10of those large scales like the. Scales of Justice.
- 8:17A mechanical scale with two sides.
- 8:23On one. Side of the scales is outcome
- 8:27scores, numbers, judgements, trophies, imagined opinions.
- 8:36And on the other side is. Process your stance, your
- 8:41rhythm, your breath. Your.
- 8:44Swing your own evaluations and how you feel and I wonder if you
- 8:52can. Watch as the weight.
- 8:54Shifts. Imagine outcome becoming light,
- 9:01feather light, almost irrelevant.
- 9:07Consider the outcome, the icing or the.
- 9:11Cherry on the. Cake, but not the cake itself.
- 9:16And process, well, that side of the scales is solid, grounded,
- 9:23heavy in the best possible way. And from now on, every time you
- 9:32approach the ball, your mind automatically.
- 9:37Shifts to process. Almost like a refuge.
- 9:42Your anchor your default starting position, giving you
- 9:50clarity. And what if outcome loses its
- 9:55power because it no longer defines you and your?
- 10:02Performance. Becomes a sequence of elegant
- 10:07processes. 1 after the next. So imagine yourself on that
- 10:16morning golf course, but imagine hundreds of people watching you.
- 10:24Men, women, strangers, friends. And imagine that you can read
- 10:30their mind and you quickly discover they're not thinking
- 10:36about you, they're thinking about themselves.
- 10:42If there are other players, they're thinking about their
- 10:45swing, their. Shot their problems.
- 10:51And if they're an audience, they don't need you to perform well.
- 10:58They're there to watch whatever happens, good, bad or
- 11:02indifferent. That many of them are still in
- 11:06their heads with their insecurities, their life's
- 11:12problems, their plans and intentions.
- 11:19Most people are wrapped. Up in their own worlds and you
- 11:25are never the centre of their thoughts.
- 11:31Just a moment every now and then.
- 11:37And I want you to feel that that realization brings a wave of
- 11:42relief, because there were never any.
- 11:46Expectations on you? A stranger can't know how good
- 11:52you normally are, how can they have any expectations?
- 12:00And a friend they'll be accepting of whatever happens.
- 12:07And anyone that truly knows golf knows just how many variables
- 12:13there are. And even great golfers have bad
- 12:17days. Just feel.
- 12:21All of the pressure drain away and I want you to think of the
- 12:28difference between truly showing off, arrogance, cockiness,
- 12:37desperate to impress, and simply playing nice Golf with elegance,
- 12:44confidence, good posture, nice clothes, good energy, moving
- 12:52with class and competency. They are.
- 12:56Not the same and feel how different they are.
- 13:04Showing off is often loud, insecure, or.
- 13:06Attention seeking. But elegance that's humble,
- 13:15graceful, quiet and grounded. Not trying to impress, but not
- 13:21trying to shrink. Just a natural expression of
- 13:25self respect as you accept that you don't need to dim your light
- 13:31to protect others. Your only obligation is to play
- 13:40your own game in your own way, to do the best you can with what
- 13:45you have, not for attention, but because that's simply who you
- 13:51are. When you're relaxed and centred,
- 13:57you could want to play. Well.
- 14:00But you can influence that by what you do, what you think and
- 14:03how you feel. Pressure.
- 14:10Pressure has been a hindrance, not a help.
- 14:16So let's detach. Play from.
- 14:18Score and just imagine a scorecard.
- 14:23Drifting away into. The distance.
- 14:26Like a leaf. On water, an important
- 14:31background noise. Secondary, I want you to feel
- 14:36that the game itself is its own reward.
- 14:42The rhythm is the pleasure, the stroke is the joy.
- 14:46The score is the side effect of how you play, Not the purpose,
- 14:55just evidence of a journey. And certainly not a definition
- 15:00of your worth. And I wonder if your imagination
- 15:06can imagine you floating upward as if you're.
- 15:10Levitating. Rising above the course, above
- 15:15the clubhouse, perhaps even. Above a nearby.
- 15:19Town looking down with a calm, expanded perspective, and with
- 15:28this wider view you recognise something undeniable.
- 15:34It's. Just golf, just a game, a hobby,
- 15:43perhaps even a privilege. And then just imagine somewhere
- 15:50else in the world, someone is fighting for their life, someone
- 15:55is making life saving decisions, someone is facing true risk,
- 16:02true stakes, true consequences. And compared to that, golf is
- 16:11beautiful, meaningful, challenging.
- 16:16But when it comes to pressure, it's light.
- 16:22Light enough that you can breathe again.
- 16:25Light enough that you can enjoy to a whole new level, and light
- 16:31enough that the pressure melts away completely.
- 16:40I want you to feel all of these changes taking place, like your
- 16:45whole neural pathways that used to lead to pressure suddenly
- 16:51can't get to that pressure anymore.
- 16:59I want you to feel that. Even if someone's watching, it's
- 17:02just a game. Even if someone's behind you
- 17:07impatiently muttering, it's just a game.
- 17:13Allow this to be a superpower to protect you.
- 17:18You want to. Do well, but you don't need to
- 17:21do well. You want to get better, but
- 17:26you'll get better by focusing on what you do, not by focusing on
- 17:33the outcome and when all of these changes have.
- 17:37Clicked into place. You know, by nodding your head
- 17:45and then just imagine floating all the way down to that 18th
- 17:51hole and just imagine the most talented golfers in the world
- 18:01playing that hole with you with a big audience, TV cameras and
- 18:08say to. Yourself.
- 18:11It's just the game. I'm going to play my game.
- 18:17Imagine playing that hole confidently, relaxed almost.
- 18:25Like all the. Pressure has just melted away.
- 18:32No expectations, no requirements, just play.
- 18:41I feel like if you can do this even in your imagination,
- 18:46nothing else will ever reach that level on a golf course.
- 18:51Which means you get to dial down all of the pressure all of the
- 18:57time. And the lower the pressure, the
- 19:00better you play and the more you can enjoy it again to a whole
- 19:05new level. So allow yourself to float all
- 19:10the way back to the here and the now.
- 19:14Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 19:18nose. Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your
- 19:22toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 19:26here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you
- 19:34starting to count. 123. Waking up. 4. 5-6 More alert.
- 19:417-8 Open your eyes. Open your eyes. 910 Wide awake,
