- 0:52Speaker 1: Guy who is putting an ad out uh to cheat
- 0:57Speaker 1: on his wife, and then the the person that he
- 1:00Speaker 1: meets to cheat on his wife with is his wife
- 1:04Speaker 1: who was also looking to cheat on him.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, yeah, that's about Yeah, it's definitely an his
- 1:11Speaker 2: old song.

- 1:24Speaker 4: Is a song that ain't. It's about to be exactly.
- 1:28Speaker 4: It's about the song. It's about this weak song.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Trust me, it's gonna be. It's hilarious.
- 1:37Speaker 4: I the song is. I let my daughter almost pick
- 1:40Speaker 4: a song one week and Emo Boy and I listened
- 1:47Speaker 4: to it and I was like, I can't, I can't
- 1:50Speaker 4: subject other.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Fact that particular song, the dirtiest song that ain't your
- 1:55Speaker 2: daughter can listen to it because they won't get it.
- 2:01Speaker 2: All the stuff is censored, like your mind fills it in.
- 2:07Speaker 4: The dirtiest song that ain't well.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah from Voltaire. Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 4: I keep looking at your picture and I can't lose
- 2:20Speaker 4: your voice comes out of that body.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I mean, you have the picture of me in the
- 2:27Speaker 2: altered corner.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Thing, I know, and that's where I'd stemmed from, And
- 2:33Speaker 4: I was like, that's his voice. I was like, it's
- 2:37Speaker 4: got to be a microphone thing like it's it's got
- 2:40Speaker 4: to be shaped up somewhere.
- 2:43Speaker 2: It could be. This is not a good microphone.
- 2:45Speaker 4: What's funny? I was digging through my ship and I
- 2:49Speaker 4: found I found a microphone, which story? Why did it
- 2:56Speaker 4: crop like that? Oh my god, I'm gonna lose my shit.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Fucking YouTube? Why do you suck so bad that I
- 3:13Speaker 4: don't know? I kind of corner dot com?
- 3:16Speaker 5: Did YouTube fail?
- 3:17Speaker 2: Again? Like? No?
- 3:20Speaker 4: Sometimes it fucking crops shit weird, and it's just like,
- 3:23Speaker 4: why do you know? But then it looks like I
- 3:26Speaker 4: go and I look at it on the page and
- 3:27Speaker 4: it looks just fine, And I don't understand, nor do
- 3:32Speaker 4: I care, but what's going on? Everybody? I am the one,
- 3:36Speaker 4: the only w o okay, I e I joined here
- 3:40Speaker 4: by my normal cast of misfits. We have the guy
- 3:44Speaker 4: who knows more than you, mister Cole Robbie, Hello, hello.
- 3:50Speaker 4: We have the proverbial dexter or I'm sorry, he's the
- 3:53Speaker 4: proverbial red shirt dexter.
- 3:58Speaker 5: Hello everyone.
- 4:00Speaker 4: And then we got the guy whose voice doesn't match
- 4:03Speaker 4: his body Felix.
- 4:05Speaker 2: That's cool, nice, It definitely doesn't fit.
- 4:10Speaker 4: It doesn't It's like sssame street. One of these things
- 4:13Speaker 4: is not like the other. One of these things just
- 4:16Speaker 4: doesn't belong, and it's like the hell these don't match. Also,
- 4:22Speaker 4: Felix should be on a cover of some sort of magazine.
- 4:27Speaker 4: I haven't decided what one, but he's definitely probably the
- 4:31Speaker 4: prettiest member of Arcan's Corner.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Also the prettiest member of Altered Corner too.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Yep, that's the one that's the show we're on right now,
- 4:42Speaker 4: Altered Corner. Both ironically, I always with our powers combined. Somehow,
- 4:51Speaker 4: Felix is still the prettiest member out of all of them.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I don't know. Drascore is not bad. He's like six
- 4:56Speaker 4: to two, so he's got that going for him.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I always thought I looked hidious.
- 5:03Speaker 4: From who Who's told you this?
- 5:05Speaker 2: That's just me?
- 5:07Speaker 4: You took that picture and I'm like, it's just a
- 5:09Speaker 4: glamor shot or what the fuck is this? This is bullshit.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I was thearing a demo a US and somebody took
- 5:14Speaker 2: a picture that was demo ing.
- 5:16Speaker 4: I'm not my own goddamn podcast. Is that table flip?
- 5:22Speaker 1: If you want to see the picture that we are
- 5:24Speaker 1: talking about, you can just go to Altered Corner dot
- 5:27Speaker 1: com now and see Felix's pretty face on the front page.
- 5:33Speaker 4: But that's not what we're here to talk about today. No, Well,
- 5:37Speaker 4: we're really here to talk about is something way more,
- 5:40Speaker 4: well kind of important. I've been notified that by the
- 5:45Speaker 4: time that most of you are listening to this, stuff
- 5:49Speaker 4: and things will have already transpired. And by stuff and things,
- 5:53Speaker 4: I mean worlds. Worlds will be happening next week Friday,
- 5:58Speaker 4: Saturday and Sunday, the else the Q starting on the seventeenth,
- 6:02Speaker 4: as we move into the normal matchup rounds. Are you excited? Cole?
- 6:10Speaker 4: When do you fly out?
- 6:13Speaker 1: You fly out on Wednesday the fifteenth, at like five
- 6:22Speaker 1: pm or something like.
- 6:23Speaker 4: That cool, So we'll see if there's an altered corner
- 6:29Speaker 4: next week. We don't really know. We don't know what
- 6:31Speaker 4: to do in Cole's not here. We're not really supposed
- 6:34Speaker 4: to wake.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I'll talk about later about something maybe.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Actually we're also not supposed to be left unsupervised. I
- 6:42Speaker 4: don't know. It's a rule somebody put in here. I
- 6:45Speaker 4: didn't make the rules. They just they appear and we
- 6:48Speaker 4: follow them sometimes.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I'm actually gonna be absent next week too.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Ironically, sounds like a good time to take a break,
- 6:58Speaker 4: and you guys don't have to come around here and
- 7:00Speaker 4: you can just go to all Right, now that we're
- 7:04Speaker 4: in this topic, Cole, where can I find a stream
- 7:06Speaker 4: of worlds.
- 7:09Speaker 5: LL?
- 7:10Speaker 1: I guess this will be uh the first time I'm
- 7:13Speaker 1: saying it explicitly out loud, but the English broadcast will
- 7:19Speaker 1: be on the A wall YouTube, which if you've watched
- 7:26Speaker 1: basically any major altered content in English, you already know
- 7:31Speaker 1: where it is. But if you just type in AWOL
- 7:36Speaker 1: altered TCG, I'm sure you'll find it. It stands for
- 7:40Speaker 1: Altered Weekly Online League and Blue and I will be
- 7:45Speaker 1: running the stream and we'll have some of the.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Some damn pants?
- 7:52Speaker 1: You want blue to wear pants?
- 7:53Speaker 4: Yes, it bothers me for grown ass men who wear
- 7:58Speaker 4: suit coats with shorts.
- 8:00Speaker 5: That's just the es.
- 8:05Speaker 2: That's the style.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Though, fucking grow up. He wouldn't be blue otherwise it
- 8:10Speaker 4: just so fucking grow up put on some pants. Ah,
- 8:18Speaker 4: but those are those are my crazy stupid uh pet peeves?
- 8:23Speaker 4: I guess is that is that the But it's time
- 8:28Speaker 4: for the altered corner unnecessary question of the week? Boys,
- 8:33Speaker 4: who of all the fast foods has the best French fries?
- 8:40Speaker 2: Oh?
- 8:41Speaker 1: And you're asking a fry expert this question?
- 8:44Speaker 4: Oh feelix you're a fry expert because I know I
- 8:48Speaker 4: got two people here that don't even eat fast They're like,
- 8:50Speaker 4: what's fast food?
- 8:52Speaker 2: Now?
- 8:52Speaker 1: I am me, I am the french fries.
- 8:56Speaker 4: You're the french fry expert. Okay, but you don't.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I I don't eat McDonald's. That doesn't mean I don't
- 9:02Speaker 1: eat fast food.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Okay, that's that's the same here. That's legit. Okay, So
- 9:08Speaker 4: who's got the best French fries around?
- 9:12Speaker 1: Okay? And you said fast food, it's.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Got to be fast food. It's got to be. You
- 9:18Speaker 4: can't be like there's a small diner next to this
- 9:20Speaker 4: hole in the wall place that I've gone to that
- 9:23Speaker 4: I go to every week, and it's owned by this
- 9:25Speaker 4: little old lady and she's got the that that don't
- 9:27Speaker 4: count because the average listener can't go to that place, right, Well,
- 9:31Speaker 4: I guess they could, but they would be highly exclusive.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you didn't say the best chain restaurant the best restaurant,
- 9:41Speaker 1: because that's difficult, all right, Well if you so, pries
- 9:46Speaker 1: have tears, right, So I there's what I lump all
- 9:52Speaker 1: fast food in and the winner of fast food is
- 9:56Speaker 1: most likely Wendy's. Yes, when they're good, exactly, I will
- 10:06Speaker 1: say for most consistent, like almost never are bad. Jack
- 10:11Speaker 1: in the.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Box, which is really just Arby's.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Right, Uh, No, Arby's is actually not very good.
- 10:20Speaker 4: Really makes some bomb ass curly fries. Maybe that's just
- 10:26Speaker 4: my Arby's, right, I've never had a bad fry from
- 10:30Speaker 4: the Arby's by my house, never, not what the curly
- 10:35Speaker 4: they're always crispy. Oh they're fantastic, They're just I could
- 10:41Speaker 4: go back.
- 10:42Speaker 1: In the Box has more than just curly fries, though.
- 10:44Speaker 4: I know they go well, so does Arby's. Arby's has
- 10:47Speaker 4: regular fries too, I don't know I've ever eaten a
- 10:50Speaker 4: regular sometime. Now. No, that's a lie. Twenty years you
- 10:56Speaker 4: could get you always could get regular fries at Arby's.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Just nobody does.
- 11:01Speaker 1: You're lying.
- 11:02Speaker 4: I don't think Soole's google this. How long has there
- 11:09Speaker 4: had two types of fries?
- 11:16Speaker 1: It's not even real.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Oh no, they didn't have crinkle cup before. They just
- 11:20Speaker 4: had like regular ass fries.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah, crinkle cut is what do you mean?
- 11:26Speaker 4: Crinkle cut fries aren't real.
- 11:28Speaker 1: They're right there, They're not real fries.
- 11:31Speaker 5: They're fine.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Anyways, above fast food, above fast food are places like
- 11:43Speaker 1: mu Yah or Twisted Real or five guys, those kind
- 11:47Speaker 1: of places.
- 11:48Speaker 5: Five guys fast food.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Five guys fries are always so damn bland.
- 11:54Speaker 1: You gotta get the Cajun fries.
- 11:56Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, five guys. Cajun fries are good.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I'm not a spy. Their regular price should be salted.
- 12:05Speaker 1: So maybe you're five guys.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Just yeah, because I don't know, I'm not a huge
- 12:12Speaker 4: five guys expert. I don't go there a ton.
- 12:16Speaker 3: I'm now realizing how little I go to fast food
- 12:19Speaker 3: places because I haven't been to like any of these places.
- 12:22Speaker 3: The Windy's are a jack in the box or any
- 12:24Speaker 3: of these in probably like years.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I went like the only in the box once and
- 12:30Speaker 4: that was when I was at gen Con last year.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Last year. I was so hungry I was. I was.
- 12:42Speaker 4: I was like, I'll fucking I will eat anything like it,
- 12:44Speaker 4: because I had place tie in Alliance and they had
- 12:49Speaker 4: all eaten without me because I placed tie an Alliance,
- 12:53Speaker 4: and I was like, I will literally eat anything right
- 12:55Speaker 4: now like it. It doesn't even matter as long as
- 12:57Speaker 4: it's like somewhat okay. And little did we know from
- 13:02Speaker 4: where we were staying there was literally a five guy
- 13:04Speaker 4: our five guys. There was literally a jacket a box
- 13:08Speaker 4: three and a half minutes from where we were staying.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Just instead of turning right to go to the Indianapolis
- 13:14Speaker 4: Convention Center, you turned left and it was right there
- 13:20Speaker 4: the whole time. And I don't even know what I ate,
- 13:24Speaker 4: but I was so hungry. I ate it. I had
- 13:27Speaker 4: a burger and surprise and it was really good. But
- 13:30Speaker 4: also I was really hungry because I had not eaten
- 13:33Speaker 4: at like all.
- 13:34Speaker 5: So yep, because being hungry does taste.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Better, tastes way better. Yeah, that's true. Because I was
- 13:43Speaker 4: going to say, because like old school burger King fries
- 13:47Speaker 4: used to be the best. I don't know what they changed.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Like peak burger King fries is like two thousand and five.
- 13:54Speaker 4: I remember because I used to get a lot of
- 13:56Speaker 4: Burger King because it was right now.
- 13:58Speaker 2: I always got the tater thought a Burger King.
- 14:02Speaker 4: They didn't, they didn't always have tater tots. Now you
- 14:05Speaker 4: can get half in half. I didn't know that half
- 14:08Speaker 4: half and half. I found that out the other day
- 14:10Speaker 4: when I was going to Burger King. There's a burger
- 14:12Speaker 4: King by my work that I refused to go to
- 14:14Speaker 4: because they that place could screw up water. But I
- 14:18Speaker 4: had to because that was all that was available and
- 14:21Speaker 4: I had gotten I'd gotten half in half. It was good. Felix,
- 14:27Speaker 4: what what are you saying? What's the top? What's the
- 14:28Speaker 4: top French fries?
- 14:30Speaker 2: I was actually gonna say Wendy's as well. So yeah,
- 14:34Speaker 2: they feel they're they're thicker, they have stilled the skin
- 14:38Speaker 2: on them, so it's yeah.
- 14:41Speaker 4: When they're good, when they're bad, they are badly. Well
- 14:48Speaker 4: that's going to do it. Tell us what your favorite
- 14:50Speaker 4: French fry is in the comments section down below. Glad
- 14:56Speaker 4: to always hear from you, but the main topic today
- 14:59Speaker 4: that we are going into I like how, I like
- 15:03Speaker 4: how you put this in here. I said tilt, And
- 15:07Speaker 4: the first question I got is what is tilt? Do
- 15:11Speaker 4: I need to give the technical response that I gave Cole?
- 15:15Speaker 5: Is that what I give us an intro of what
- 15:19Speaker 5: tilt is?
- 15:19Speaker 4: So how how tilt is defined? Right is a state
- 15:23Speaker 4: of mental or emotional confusion or frustration in which a
- 15:27Speaker 4: player adopts a suboptimal strategy, usually resulting in a player
- 15:32Speaker 4: becoming overly aggressive. Now, I don't know about you. I've
- 15:40Speaker 4: been there, right, played a lot of card tournaments. I've
- 15:44Speaker 4: I've been in tilt before anybody else.
- 15:48Speaker 6: Yeah, times, quite a few times, I would say, without
- 15:53Speaker 6: the aggressiveness tilt For me, I normally don't get aggressive,
- 15:57Speaker 6: but yeah, I spiral and then I make a whole
- 16:00Speaker 6: bunch of other mistakes and then get super stressed out
- 16:03Speaker 6: and annoyed it myself and then don't have a.
- 16:06Speaker 5: Great time at the event.
- 16:08Speaker 2: That's a big one.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Spiral is a good way to put it. Like a
- 16:11Speaker 1: curly fry.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Just like, just like curly fries. See how this all
- 16:16Speaker 4: gets together? God, we're good. Oh man, we should get
- 16:19Speaker 4: a better sponsor. This whole thing, totally plan this whole thing,
- 16:25Speaker 4: so biggest thing. And I've i have experienced tilt. And
- 16:30Speaker 4: I've also experienced people who are tilted and not knowing
- 16:34Speaker 4: they're tilted. Maybe they do know it, but they have
- 16:39Speaker 4: a trouble. I guess getting out of it is the
- 16:42Speaker 4: best way I can put it, because it is a struggle, right, Like,
- 16:46Speaker 4: once you're tilted and you know you're tilted, there's usually
- 16:52Speaker 4: what is it the seven stages of coping or whatever
- 16:55Speaker 4: it is, what are the stages of coping? You get
- 16:57Speaker 4: that anger, grief, whatever, denial, denial, because usually it's like,
- 17:02Speaker 4: I'm not tilted, I'm not tilted, I'm not tilted. If
- 17:05Speaker 4: you are telling everyone you're not tilted, you're probably tilted. Okay,
- 17:13Speaker 4: I'm glad we all agree. Speak, feel free to speak
- 17:17Speaker 4: at any time. Guys, got it, and.
- 17:21Speaker 1: You guys are the experts. I'm I'm taking it.
- 17:23Speaker 4: In all your you're taking well, you're judging. I don't
- 17:25Speaker 4: even know. Can you get tilted as a judge.
- 17:29Speaker 1: I am, I'm not judging.
- 17:30Speaker 4: You can now you're you're just streaming.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Yeah no, yeah, he's streaming.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, I prefer casting.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I'll be judging at Packs unplugged.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Though, nice, I will not be up packs it.
- 17:44Speaker 1: What are you gonna judge not altered Marvel Champions.
- 17:49Speaker 4: It has a that has a it has a o
- 17:52Speaker 4: P system.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I will be honest and say I have no
- 17:59Speaker 1: idea how you be a floor judge for Marvel Champions.
- 18:06Speaker 4: But the Marvel Champions a co op game.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a it's a living card game. So I
- 18:15Speaker 1: think it's mainly just being there for like hard interaction
- 18:20Speaker 1: answers and stuff. But the game is yeah, the game
- 18:25Speaker 1: is very like TCG centric, like there's.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Totally yeah, I thought this was a miniature game.
- 18:35Speaker 1: No, that's oh what is what what is that one
- 18:39Speaker 1: called Crisis?
- 18:41Speaker 4: I mean the Crisis Protocol? Yeah, it was all right,
- 18:46Speaker 4: So what are some of the signs? You're tilted? Feelix?
- 18:50Speaker 4: What do you what do you got? What do you think?
- 18:51Speaker 4: What are some of the science you're tilted?
- 18:54Speaker 2: So the ones that comes to mind a lot is
- 18:58Speaker 2: I did I played a lot of Final Fantasy for
- 19:00Speaker 2: a little while, and I remember forgetting triggers. I remember
- 19:07Speaker 2: forgetting to play a certain card, playing things in the
- 19:09Speaker 2: wrong order, and you start getting depressed. It's like, what
- 19:14Speaker 2: did I do? Or can I go back? But then
- 19:17Speaker 2: at the same time you started thinking to yourself, I
- 19:20Speaker 2: can't ask my opponent to go back. This is a
- 19:22Speaker 2: competitive game that's for championship points on the line. So
- 19:26Speaker 2: depression and desperation is a big one, because now you're
- 19:30Speaker 2: trying to fix the problem that you started, and you
- 19:34Speaker 2: don't want to look weak in front of an opponent
- 19:37Speaker 2: pretty much, but sometimes it still gets to you. You
- 19:43Speaker 2: get educated.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Yes, it's a it's an irritability or anger, right. Usually
- 19:49Speaker 4: when a revenge mindset, you're playing to h like, yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 4: to get that mistake back or to prove you know,
- 19:59Speaker 4: you're trying to for something. Yeah, oh I made this mistake.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Now I'm tilted, and now I'm trying to I'm trying
- 20:07Speaker 4: to overcompensate.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Yeah, So there's two, and there's two levels of it.
- 20:12Speaker 2: The one that I've suffered the most is more internal depression,
- 20:16Speaker 2: just being angry with myself and getting to a point
- 20:21Speaker 2: that the game starts being fun and I just want
- 20:23Speaker 2: to quit and just pretty much just just walk away.
- 20:28Speaker 2: So that's the one that happens to me, but it
- 20:30Speaker 2: doesn't as well to me. It happens as well that
- 20:33Speaker 2: and I've seen it where players get frustrated and like
- 20:39Speaker 2: you said, revenge do you want to make it very
- 20:42Speaker 2: very difficult for your opponent, even if you're not going
- 20:46Speaker 2: to win, you want to make them angry. And I've
- 20:48Speaker 2: seen that happen before as well.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Yep, being on tilt can definitely make you become a
- 20:54Speaker 3: rage baiter and try your hardest to make your opponent.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Matt, Yes, but you start getting me, you start making
- 21:00Speaker 2: more more shark calls for judges. He started, they started
- 21:05Speaker 2: making They start playing slower in a way to overcompensate
- 21:10Speaker 2: for that anger that they.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Have, or faster. Yeah, sometimes you're you're playing just speed
- 21:16Speaker 4: because you're like, well it's over and you just want
- 21:18Speaker 4: to get it done.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah, right, that happened to me. Ironically, that same thing
- 21:23Speaker 2: happened to me with Universes. I was playing out a
- 21:25Speaker 2: regional one time, and I was playing against an opponent
- 21:28Speaker 2: who's a streamer, so like people know him and then
- 21:31Speaker 2: he's super popular in the streaming community for Universes and
- 21:36Speaker 2: I beat him one game with a really under like
- 21:41Speaker 2: a really rogue character, and he got pissed. You can
- 21:45Speaker 2: tell that he started playing faster. He started misplaying and
- 21:48Speaker 2: stuff like that and he started doing things that he was.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Not allowed to do.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and that was all on stream. And then he
- 21:56Speaker 2: didn't say goodbye when the event. When when the games ended,
- 21:59Speaker 2: he didn't say goodbye. He just left, just picked up
- 22:02Speaker 2: his stuff and left, no handshakes, no sportsmanship, because he
- 22:07Speaker 2: wants to keep that image of him, because what it
- 22:10Speaker 2: looks like to me is that his image got destroyed.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it is tough. I will tell you, as
- 22:17Speaker 4: being someone who's been in the light, I guess of
- 22:23Speaker 4: you know, especially for key Forge, not so much altered,
- 22:25Speaker 4: but for key Forge, you want to put up a
- 22:28Speaker 4: good showing, right, especially in the early days, right as
- 22:33Speaker 4: when you're getting started, you want to you want to
- 22:36Speaker 4: keep that well, you know, I I am the end
- 22:39Speaker 4: all be all, but the in reality focuses number one.
- 22:44Speaker 4: We're all subject to the same mistakes, loss of focus,
- 22:52Speaker 4: you know. I mean, shoot, my last tournament I went
- 22:54Speaker 4: to I I I was, I got two bounced, right.
- 23:00Speaker 4: You get I think as you get more used to
- 23:02Speaker 4: just being in a light and realizing it's not the
- 23:04Speaker 4: end of the world, it's still just a game. And
- 23:07Speaker 4: the more you've been in the game, you realize, well,
- 23:11Speaker 4: this happens to everyone right, like literally, but you're playing
- 23:18Speaker 4: a card game, right, And I think the biggest thing
- 23:22Speaker 4: you have to kind of come to the realization of
- 23:25Speaker 4: is no matter what you do, you are still somewhat
- 23:30Speaker 4: at the mercy of RNG. No matter no matter what
- 23:37Speaker 4: it is, right, you can still get a bad draw.
- 23:40Speaker 4: Bad things can still happen to you, no matter how
- 23:43Speaker 4: much you've spent on a deck, no matter how many
- 23:45Speaker 4: times you've played a deck, No no matter what it is,
- 23:50Speaker 4: RANG sometimes just kicks you in the pants and and
- 23:55Speaker 4: you know, gets you down. Does suck people.
- 24:01Speaker 2: A lot of people have some communication problems too that
- 24:05Speaker 2: if they see their opponents getting tilted, they try to
- 24:10Speaker 2: calm the situation that they use wrong words. It has
- 24:14Speaker 2: happened before when I'm judging and stuff like that. For
- 24:17Speaker 2: other events where you have a player get ready tilted
- 24:21Speaker 2: and they lost against the control deck, and the control
- 24:24Speaker 2: player says, that was a good game, but it was
- 24:27Speaker 2: insanely one sided. You on the side lines use you
- 24:29Speaker 2: can tell that the game was insanely one sided. You
- 24:32Speaker 2: can tell that they were not having fun. And the
- 24:34Speaker 2: controller set player says that was a good game. So
- 24:39Speaker 2: I don't know either you're insanely like Gullible or you're
- 24:45Speaker 2: doing this on purpose. So and at a high level
- 24:48Speaker 2: competitive event, that is a strategy to some people use.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I mean it removes some of the competition. So luckily,
- 24:57Speaker 2: from my experience, Altered does not like that so far,
- 25:01Speaker 2: at least not in the States. I can't say about
- 25:04Speaker 2: how it is in Europe, but it is something that
- 25:07Speaker 2: people need to learn how to cope.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Right, and it's not easy.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Yeah, there's there's a couple communities that seem to get
- 25:20Speaker 1: a little more heated in competition. Overall, Altered is is
- 25:27Speaker 1: pretty pretty nice and friendly. It was great at the
- 25:32Speaker 1: Dallas event to see everyone like at a World's qualifying
- 25:37Speaker 1: event for a trip to Paris, laughing and you know,
- 25:44Speaker 1: playing together and stuff.
- 25:46Speaker 2: So what helps is the fact that the game does
- 25:51Speaker 2: not end the one turn. You cannot end the game
- 25:53Speaker 2: in a one turn, so your opponent will always have
- 25:57Speaker 2: a chance to backswing or have more multiple turns to
- 26:00Speaker 2: play things out. But if you play something like Magic,
- 26:03Speaker 2: or you play something like Pokemon or you gi oh,
- 26:07Speaker 2: the games can end in a turn, and that really
- 26:10Speaker 2: triggers people because they don't get a chance to respond
- 26:14Speaker 2: or actually play. The game so often has that going
- 26:18Speaker 2: for it that it does allow for more playing than
- 26:22Speaker 2: other games you can generally do.
- 26:25Speaker 4: But a lot of mistakes and alterns still still even
- 26:30Speaker 4: right like, they have game lasting effects. I guess that's
- 26:35Speaker 4: the way I want to put it, because you, yes,
- 26:39Speaker 4: if you make a wrong turn, or if you make
- 26:42Speaker 4: a wrong decision on turn two or whatever, you know,
- 26:45Speaker 4: the case may be, it can't affect further down the line, right.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Yeah, If you lose one turn and you have nothing
- 26:54Speaker 3: to go in for you you're just lost the whole game.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Sometimes, right, so exactly.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Sometimes I mean it feels like it's the end of
- 27:03Speaker 2: the world, but right is read not until you make
- 27:06Speaker 2: it the end of the world, and that's.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Different, right, So typically on a lot of situations, How
- 27:14Speaker 4: do you guys, I mean, I guess, especially Felix Dexter,
- 27:18Speaker 4: how do you guys you've come to the realization I'm
- 27:21Speaker 4: tilted right, what are your next steps to going into
- 27:27Speaker 4: that to kind of get yourself out of that mindset?
- 27:34Speaker 4: I guess we'll go in round, right, because there's there's
- 27:37Speaker 4: stuff that I definitely do in round, and then there's
- 27:42Speaker 4: stuff I'll do out around because I mean, sometimes you
- 27:48Speaker 4: are so tilted in a game, right, and yep, I
- 27:51Speaker 4: made that mistake and that mistake did cost me the game, right, Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 3: I mean, if the mistake is bad enough and I'm
- 27:58Speaker 3: in a mindset that's terrible, just forfeit at that point.
- 28:01Speaker 3: And I've done that once or twice where I just
- 28:04Speaker 3: made a really bad mistake and I didn't feel like
- 28:06Speaker 3: playing out the rest of the game, so I forfeited
- 28:08Speaker 3: that game.
- 28:09Speaker 5: But most of the time, when I get tilted and.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Like the game is still recoverable, I'll just like make
- 28:14Speaker 3: a mental note, slow down, make sure you don't make
- 28:18Speaker 3: any more mistakes, and I like think, try to make
- 28:21Speaker 3: sure I think about my plays a lot more so
- 28:23Speaker 3: that I won't mess up again and get even more tilted.
- 28:26Speaker 4: That's true. I'm so disappointed. Inn't you so so disappointed?
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:32Speaker 4: I mean, I what did I stay wrong? I really
- 28:34Speaker 4: can't say I've ever conceded a game, right, Number one.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Never conceded If you're losing the game. What's the point
- 28:41Speaker 3: of continuing in.
- 28:42Speaker 4: A tournament setting.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of prizing involved in rewards. Generally
- 28:49Speaker 2: you don't want to concede.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Yeah, what are those times that I conceded. We're in
- 28:53Speaker 3: a much smaller tournament where the prizes didn't really matter,
- 28:56Speaker 3: so I didn't really care at that point. In a
- 28:58Speaker 3: bigger tournament, I won't do.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't say that in a tournament setting. I
- 29:04Speaker 4: have ever conceded if it's me and you and it's
- 29:07Speaker 4: like yep, that's the end of that. Yeah, I'll concede,
- 29:09Speaker 4: right if it's just for funzies. But we're talking more
- 29:13Speaker 4: tournament setting, because I'm not going to concede in a
- 29:15Speaker 4: tournament setting, right.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Is very different than one hundred person tournament, is what
- 29:23Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 29:23Speaker 1: That's I think in the alternate wouldn't matter though, if
- 29:26Speaker 1: you're in the game and you can see it's still
- 29:29Speaker 1: just a loss. Are are you saying, don't concede because
- 29:32Speaker 1: you might have a chance to.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Win, I'm saying, don't concede, right, I mean a ten
- 29:39Speaker 4: person tournament. My assumption is, you know, if you've made
- 29:43Speaker 4: a mistake that badly, right, and you've realized that, I'm
- 29:48Speaker 4: assuming you're realizing on the spot, you're going to be
- 29:50Speaker 4: able to be like, hey, I made a mistake, and
- 29:52Speaker 4: we roll it back, and nine times out of ten
- 29:55Speaker 4: nobody's gonna say boo about it, right.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yeah, unless you're depending at a local local Yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 4: Right, at a local yeah, I guess. But you know,
- 30:07Speaker 4: we're talking a larger tournament setting than a ten person setting. Right,
- 30:12Speaker 4: I've done what it needs for me to get here, Right,
- 30:15Speaker 4: I'm not just gonna concede. I'm gonna play it out right,
- 30:18Speaker 4: because you number one, got to keep that mindset. You
- 30:22Speaker 4: never know what's going to happen. You don't. You can't
- 30:30Speaker 4: tell me, you know, Well, yeah, I screwed up. I
- 30:32Speaker 4: can see. That's the end of the game.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I mean, well, if you're against your opponent and they
- 30:38Speaker 3: have like twenty amber and you have no amber control,
- 30:42Speaker 3: you're gonna lose the game. Is there really a point
- 30:44Speaker 3: in playing three more turns?
- 30:46Speaker 5: Maybe until they win?
- 30:48Speaker 4: Maybe? I mean, look, look, I've got a deck that's
- 30:50Speaker 4: just like that, but it can otk right, So I'm
- 30:55Speaker 4: gonna try. I'm gonna do my best, right, Number one,
- 30:58Speaker 4: You owe it to you. Don't ever play yourself down. Right,
- 31:03Speaker 4: You're you're here, you're having fun. Number one. You you
- 31:06Speaker 4: paid money to be here, more than likely, so you're
- 31:10Speaker 4: you're here to play the game. Get your money, My
- 31:13Speaker 4: biggest thing to get your money's worth. That's how I
- 31:16Speaker 4: view it, get your money's worth, because I mean, how
- 31:22Speaker 4: much did like the the Dallas Qualifier costs to be there?
- 31:31Speaker 5: Entry was like thirty dollars or something?
- 31:33Speaker 4: And then did you have to buy.
- 31:34Speaker 2: A pack get to pay advias as well on top
- 31:37Speaker 2: of that?
- 31:38Speaker 4: Yeah, so I don't know.
- 31:39Speaker 1: I think the total was. I think the total for
- 31:42Speaker 1: everything was like forty five bucks or something like that.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 4: I mean, so you spent fifty dollars in this economy,
- 31:50Speaker 4: you spent your thirty.
- 31:51Speaker 5: More for parking.
- 31:52Speaker 4: Oh geez, yeah, the parking.
- 31:54Speaker 1: The parking was what was awful.
- 31:56Speaker 4: We're getting crazy. So never give up on yourself. But
- 32:01Speaker 4: some of the things I will do. In round number one,
- 32:07Speaker 4: you recognize you're on tilt, slow down, right, yep, unless
- 32:12Speaker 4: you're under some major time crunch. You recognize you made them.
- 32:18Speaker 4: You made a mistake. It is maybe a game, maybe
- 32:21Speaker 4: a game altering mistake. Take a breath, slow down, review
- 32:28Speaker 4: your plays before you make them. I again, I will
- 32:32Speaker 4: never in a large tournament setting, I will never just concede.
- 32:36Speaker 4: That's just giving up and it's not something I in
- 32:40Speaker 4: my life believe in. I've been in a lot of
- 32:43Speaker 4: bad scenarios, but I've never given up.
- 32:46Speaker 1: There's there's kind of two camps. There's people that would
- 32:50Speaker 1: if they see no way out of a game, they
- 32:53Speaker 1: would rather you know, concede and refresh and move on
- 32:58Speaker 1: to the next one.
- 33:00Speaker 5: I know.
- 33:01Speaker 1: I think there are some TCGs where like technically, if
- 33:07Speaker 1: you do things a certain way, like your tournament points
- 33:11Speaker 1: will be different. The closest example I could think of
- 33:17Speaker 1: is like an intentional draw, which is actually not allowed
- 33:22Speaker 1: and altered. But there there are some other things. But
- 33:28Speaker 1: there are times in altered where you probably should concede.
- 33:35Speaker 1: But I yeah, yeah, the only way out of a
- 33:40Speaker 1: hostage setup is just to concede or you're just going
- 33:44Speaker 1: to be wasting your time and an hour, yeah, the
- 33:48Speaker 1: opponent's time.
- 33:51Speaker 4: But yeah, I remember they chose to play that.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but you have no you can't what I was
- 33:57Speaker 1: gonna talk about, You can't, You literally can't do anything.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Well but I but Dexter's like, well, you're wasting The
- 34:05Speaker 4: only person's time you're wasting is yours. At that point, Yeah,
- 34:08Speaker 4: saying like wasting your opponent time is kind of a weird,
- 34:12Speaker 4: weird setup because it's like, well, they chose to play this,
- 34:14Speaker 4: so they they knew what they were getting into.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I would just rather not play a painful
- 34:21Speaker 3: losing game if I can concede and go play a
- 34:24Speaker 3: different game, or just like spend my time doing something
- 34:27Speaker 3: else that's more fun instead of just painfully losing a match.
- 34:31Speaker 4: But but all that, you don't consider any of this
- 34:35Speaker 4: like some sort of lose it or like learning experience.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Lookie, if I got wristring gun tis locked out, do
- 34:43Speaker 3: I want to just sit there for thirty minutes and
- 34:47Speaker 3: watching my own in solo play.
- 34:48Speaker 4: I guess that's on you. But for me, yeah, I'm gonna.
- 34:52Speaker 4: I'm gonna. I am going to make you play it.
- 34:57Speaker 4: I'm not just gonna give it to you. I just
- 34:59Speaker 4: don't believe even giving people the win.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Ever, it does happen that you think they your opponent
- 35:06Speaker 2: has the win and they misplay.
- 35:09Speaker 4: It can happen.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Yeah, that is possible.
- 35:11Speaker 2: It did happen to me. Well, I'm just saying like, oh,
- 35:15Speaker 2: I got this and I played a card to the
- 35:17Speaker 2: wrong order and boo, that was it.
- 35:19Speaker 4: I lost the game and the completely Maybe again this
- 35:23Speaker 4: is just me, right, but even on you know, yes
- 35:27Speaker 4: it can happen, they misplay and you win, right, Does
- 35:30Speaker 4: it happen a ton? Probably not? But you know, maybe
- 35:34Speaker 4: there's an old life lesson in here that my old
- 35:36Speaker 4: man taught me, and that's nothing in life is free, right,
- 35:41Speaker 4: So you're going to earn your win against me, not
- 35:45Speaker 4: just going to give it to you. You and I
- 35:48Speaker 4: have both learned nothing from this experience if I just
- 35:51Speaker 4: give you the win. I don't know. Maybe this is
- 35:52Speaker 4: old man barking at clouds at this point, and we're
- 35:56Speaker 4: getting a little bit away from from tilt and coping mechanics,
- 35:59Speaker 4: but I just for for me. Yes, I'm tilted, I'm angry,
- 36:04Speaker 4: I'm gonna take a breath. I'm going to reset kind
- 36:08Speaker 4: of myself mentally. You'll probably see me sit back in
- 36:12Speaker 4: my chair, maybe take a sip of my noss because
- 36:15Speaker 4: that's definitely there. And uh, I'm I'm going to do
- 36:22Speaker 4: my best to recover what I can. Right. If that
- 36:26Speaker 4: results in a loss, it results in a loss, and
- 36:29Speaker 4: that's that's on me. Take take my little mental note
- 36:34Speaker 4: right that, like, hey, don't do that again, and move
- 36:39Speaker 4: forward and move to your next next thing. And alters
- 36:42Speaker 4: a little different than than key Forge because KeyForge is
- 36:45Speaker 4: a little more strict on how many losses you're allowed
- 36:48Speaker 4: to have because once you have once you have two
- 36:51Speaker 4: losses in key Forge, you're done for the day. Like
- 36:54Speaker 4: there's no like, well, at least I got like four
- 36:57Speaker 4: more rounds to just kind of have fun. Like you're done.
- 37:00Speaker 4: It's over for you, like you're not playing anymore. Key
- 37:03Speaker 4: Forge you can go into some side events, but your
- 37:05Speaker 4: your day is done. So it's a little more rough
- 37:09Speaker 4: than most card games where you just go to the
- 37:11Speaker 4: bottom bracket. All right, game is done, Well, go ahead.
- 37:18Speaker 2: I was gonna say as well that on knowing that
- 37:21Speaker 2: tilt is a thing people have to understand as well
- 37:24Speaker 2: the type of event that they're playing in, and that
- 37:28Speaker 2: the higher the more competitive an event is going to be,
- 37:32Speaker 2: the higher is a chance that you're going to get tilted.
- 37:35Speaker 4: So for like.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Altered World, that is going to happen. So it's a
- 37:41Speaker 2: matter of knowing how to cope and knowing how to
- 37:44Speaker 2: manage it to.
- 37:46Speaker 4: So I think the biggest thing for me and this
- 37:48Speaker 4: is what I do, And you can tell me whether
- 37:50Speaker 4: you guys like it or not. I do. I do
- 37:53Speaker 4: take that that moment of I guess self reflection is
- 37:58Speaker 4: the best way I can I can say it. Take
- 38:01Speaker 4: that moment. Breathe, right, don't forget to breathe. It's essential
- 38:05Speaker 4: to everything you do. Realize yep, and admit it to yourself.
- 38:11Speaker 4: You made the mistake. It happened, right, there's no going
- 38:14Speaker 4: back now, and kind of do your best to move
- 38:20Speaker 4: forward and play at a reasonable pace, but maybe take
- 38:26Speaker 4: your time a little bit more right, pay attention, focus,
- 38:31Speaker 4: run it through your head. And then because you know
- 38:35Speaker 4: that you have the tendency that if you are tilted,
- 38:37Speaker 4: you are going to play faster, you're going to play looser,
- 38:40Speaker 4: and you're going to play dumber, and try not to
- 38:45Speaker 4: you can at least salvage that out of everything, I
- 38:47Speaker 4: think you did well. And then after games typically what
- 38:54Speaker 4: for me you can I'll tell me how you guys
- 38:56Speaker 4: deal with it. I normally take my well for me,
- 39:00Speaker 4: I take my little smoke break right, I run outside
- 39:03Speaker 4: and I have my little smoke and maybe uh maybe
- 39:07Speaker 4: some more drink and kind of reflect and realize what
- 39:12Speaker 4: I did wrong, maybe beat myself up a little bit,
- 39:15Speaker 4: maybe not, and uh, you know, just again, breathe. Remember
- 39:22Speaker 4: you're here to have fun. Remember you're here and this
- 39:26Speaker 4: is a top level of competition, and everybody is going
- 39:29Speaker 4: to make mistakes under pressure and use it as a
- 39:32Speaker 4: learning experience for a next round. That's what I do.
- 39:39Speaker 1: About rewind, rewind to the very start. What do you
- 39:44Speaker 1: what do you do to prepare yourself for entering the
- 39:49Speaker 1: no tilt zone before an event?
- 39:52Speaker 4: So I've I don't know about you, Felix. Do you
- 39:54Speaker 4: have a ritual before you go into large tournaments?
- 39:59Speaker 2: I talked to my opponent and I just chat. I
- 40:03Speaker 2: just chit chat, Just talk about the day, talk about
- 40:06Speaker 2: how they've been, where are they from. Like, if you
- 40:09Speaker 2: can start a good relationship based conversation with your opponent,
- 40:13Speaker 2: the game is going to be fun. If you just
- 40:16Speaker 2: go in playing the tournament, you just sit down and
- 40:18Speaker 2: start playing, you're gonna you're going to tilt. So for me,
- 40:24Speaker 2: it always happens. If I don't talk to my opponent,
- 40:26Speaker 2: I don't know them. I get the feeling that they're
- 40:31Speaker 2: super competitive, that they're playing to pretty much destroy me.
- 40:35Speaker 2: That's different is if I were to talk to somebody
- 40:38Speaker 2: and then we're like, yeah, we're here, we're having fun
- 40:41Speaker 2: while you guys are up to what are you guys
- 40:42Speaker 2: are gonna do you. I guess I'm gonta pay any
- 40:44Speaker 2: side events. Opening that type of conversation, it just creates
- 40:47Speaker 2: a more positive atmosphere. So to me, that's what I
- 40:50Speaker 2: always start doing. I always talk to my opponent and
- 40:53Speaker 2: just chit chat.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Do you have do you have like a pre tournament ritual?
- 40:58Speaker 4: I guess that's where I was more going.
- 40:59Speaker 2: With it for a pre tournament before I even start. Yeah,
- 41:03Speaker 2: I gotta use the restroom.
- 41:07Speaker 4: I'm going to.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Go use the restroom. Make sure to drink a good
- 41:12Speaker 2: amounts of water because you will dehydrate, because nothing you
- 41:16Speaker 2: will get dehydrated at big events.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Nothing is worse than having to pay mid round. Yeah,
- 41:24Speaker 4: you're on a tia, you gotta hold.
- 41:27Speaker 2: It just gets the people too, So you're gonna get gassie,
- 41:31Speaker 2: you're gonna wanting to You're gonna have that poop feeling.
- 41:34Speaker 2: It's like, no, use the restroom like, that's something you
- 41:37Speaker 2: definitely need to do, and the audit like just pretty
- 41:43Speaker 2: much put the ot in on. You don't want to
- 41:45Speaker 2: be smelling bad. It's just gonna make things worse.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Well not Yeah, we're getting in a little bit of
- 41:49Speaker 4: tournament prep here, right, So before you even start your day.
- 41:55Speaker 4: For the love of Jesus of everything good in the world.
- 42:01Speaker 4: You're at your hotel, you're at your house, wherever you are,
- 42:04Speaker 4: please take a shower and put the order in on.
- 42:07Speaker 2: It does a difference, huh.
- 42:11Speaker 5: It probably makes it a lot easier for you to
- 42:14Speaker 5: focus too.
- 42:16Speaker 4: I guess, Yeah, I guess I'm.
- 42:22Speaker 5: Going to have a harder time to focus.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I'm I'm a big guy, right, I'm
- 42:27Speaker 4: I'm already super focused on not smelling bad to begin with. Right,
- 42:33Speaker 4: So I mean I I my morning ritual. I'm starting
- 42:38Speaker 4: with the best shower of my life. Right. Not only
- 42:41Speaker 4: that you're in a hotel, use their hot water. It's
- 42:44Speaker 4: free there. Just saying if you're if you're a home
- 42:49Speaker 4: if you're a homeowner, you understand this. So I'm taking
- 42:52Speaker 4: a good, nice, long, hot shower, and then I'm off
- 42:57Speaker 4: to breakfast. Make sure you do eat something before you start,
- 43:01Speaker 4: because you are going to get hungry. And not only
- 43:04Speaker 4: on top of that, make sure you have I guess
- 43:08Speaker 4: fuel of some sort. Right. I typically will carry like
- 43:14Speaker 4: I guess, power bars, like normally like granola bars or
- 43:20Speaker 4: protein bars, something in my backpack that you know, you
- 43:25Speaker 4: get a little peckish. And this was my mistake at
- 43:29Speaker 4: gen Con. I got a little peckish and I didn't
- 43:32Speaker 4: have jack And that was the worst, right, because you're
- 43:36Speaker 4: that's gonna yeah, you're still compact.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Even if you know you're gonna have a lunch. Being
- 43:45Speaker 2: hungry will make you angry. Yep, it will definitely distract you.
- 43:51Speaker 4: So make sure in your in your pack you got
- 43:54Speaker 4: like you know, I mean, you can get you can
- 43:57Speaker 4: even on a budget, you can get you know, some
- 44:01Speaker 4: granola bars from Walmart on the super cheep hop Tarts
- 44:06Speaker 4: granola bars. You know, something prepackaged that you can kind
- 44:10Speaker 4: of just take along with you, right, Aget a baget? Yeah,
- 44:14Speaker 4: that'll if that fits in your backpack.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Absolutely be eating so many bagets a week from now,
- 44:22Speaker 1: you don't even know.
- 44:23Speaker 4: I mean. And for me too, especially, I not only
- 44:26Speaker 4: that I carry extra deodorant on me. It is it
- 44:29Speaker 4: is in my backpack at all times during a large
- 44:33Speaker 4: event because it is going to be hot no matter
- 44:37Speaker 4: where it is, no matter what the ac is set to.
- 44:39Speaker 4: There are hundreds of people here and you are all
- 44:42Speaker 4: crammed into a tiny area. It's gonna get hot. So
- 44:46Speaker 4: I carry deodorant and I typically carry either. I used
- 44:52Speaker 4: to carry cologne on me until it broke, and then
- 44:57Speaker 4: my whole backpack just reeked of cologne, which wasn't the
- 45:00Speaker 4: worst thing in the world, but it also wasn't the
- 45:02Speaker 4: best thing. But I now carry like an axe spray
- 45:07Speaker 4: or something, you know, axe or I'm an old spice
- 45:10Speaker 4: fan because I'm an old man, right, so I use
- 45:13Speaker 4: I have a lot of old spice, usually swagger if
- 45:17Speaker 4: you need to know my preferences, but just something you know,
- 45:22Speaker 4: and if you're feeling a little underfresh, you can always
- 45:25Speaker 4: go to the bathroom splash a little water on your face.
- 45:28Speaker 4: This also helps with tilt and kind of again refocus yourself,
- 45:35Speaker 4: freshen up a little bit. I do like to also
- 45:39Speaker 4: carry I don't know if I don't, I don't really
- 45:41Speaker 4: know what to call them. Those toothbrush things, right, they're
- 45:44Speaker 4: like the toothbrush all in one. They're little, they're tiny
- 45:48Speaker 4: little guys, and they got like the toothpaste in the bristles.
- 45:55Speaker 2: I just don't know the name.
- 45:56Speaker 4: I don't know what they're called either, but I like
- 45:58Speaker 4: to have those on me, along with some and some gum. Again,
- 46:03Speaker 4: just something to keep yourself in mind. Busy out of
- 46:06Speaker 4: not what you know anything about what you're doing. You know,
- 46:10Speaker 4: in case you get a little over over stimulated at
- 46:14Speaker 4: any point, you can have some gum or some mints
- 46:17Speaker 4: to kind of focus yourself, help yourself out. These are
- 46:20Speaker 4: all my tips and tricks. You what are your, guys?
- 46:23Speaker 4: I mean my because that's this is my ritual right now.
- 46:25Speaker 4: Because I'm gonna go get a breakfast. I'm gonna pack
- 46:27Speaker 4: my bag right. Typically breakfast is in the hotel, but
- 46:31Speaker 4: get a breakfast, pack my bag off off to the show, right,
- 46:38Speaker 4: and then before I start, I typically I'm I'm gonna
- 46:42Speaker 4: have a playlist. I usually have a playlist with me
- 46:46Speaker 4: for every event I'm going to, right, and I might
- 46:49Speaker 4: be in different moods at different times, but I'm gonna
- 46:52Speaker 4: pop my my AirPods in and I might I might
- 46:55Speaker 4: jam out for five to fifteen minutes before before where
- 47:00Speaker 4: the event starts, and just kind of get myself in
- 47:02Speaker 4: the right mindset to make some good decisions and uh,
- 47:06Speaker 4: hopefully everything goes well.
- 47:10Speaker 5: I do actually have like a whole ritual, absolutely, I
- 47:13Speaker 5: do you do? I just wing it.
- 47:16Speaker 3: I mean I'll normally come in with like some snacks
- 47:19Speaker 3: and prepare a little bit, but most of it I
- 47:22Speaker 3: don't do that much. I just hope everything goes well.
- 47:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I half percent have a ritual. I mean you gotta.
- 47:30Speaker 4: I'm old man too write when you're young like Dexter.
- 47:34Speaker 4: How old are you, Dexter nineteen? Yeah, I mean you
- 47:39Speaker 4: you can wing it, but like I need some sort
- 47:42Speaker 4: of ritual. I need some sort of structure, right, especially
- 47:46Speaker 4: I It's like, I'm if I want to do well
- 47:48Speaker 4: or if I look at look at the worst outing
- 47:51Speaker 4: I've had this far in a tournament setting. I didn't
- 47:53Speaker 4: follow any of my ritual or any of my structure, right,
- 47:58Speaker 4: and I had a bad showing. And you want to
- 47:59Speaker 4: know what I was cool with that? I scrubbed out.
- 48:02Speaker 4: It happens. It happens to everybody. It's going to happen
- 48:05Speaker 4: to you. The faster you come to the realization it's
- 48:08Speaker 4: going to happen to you one day and guess what
- 48:12Speaker 4: tomorrow is going to come and nothing really too big
- 48:15Speaker 4: is going to come of it, the better off you are.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Yep, you don't want to You want to know something
- 48:24Speaker 1: very very sad but probably important. Most of us here,
- 48:30Speaker 1: besides Dexter, are in our thirties plus, right, yep.
- 48:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I need to start stretching every day, especially leading absolutely.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Like an event or a lot of travel or anything,
- 48:49Speaker 1: because my body now likes to just get stiff and
- 48:53Speaker 1: sore just from sleeping. It's wonderful.
- 48:56Speaker 4: So yep, ye, welcome to your thirties where shit starts
- 49:00Speaker 4: to break down and you go to the doctor and
- 49:03Speaker 4: they go, yeah, this is just kind of how it
- 49:05Speaker 4: is now. Yeah.
- 49:12Speaker 2: I'm not there yet, but I do.
- 49:15Speaker 4: A lot.
- 49:16Speaker 1: I was gonna say, Felix is very active already.
- 49:21Speaker 2: I'm doing backflots and stuff like that, so yeah, pretty active.
- 49:27Speaker 1: I am a tall person, right, which is actually kind
- 49:33Speaker 1: of a curse that I don't wait on anyone.
- 49:37Speaker 3: Being much taller than six foot is not very good
- 49:39Speaker 3: for your health.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Yeah, so I have. I actually have stretch marks on
- 49:45Speaker 1: my knees, and it's not because my knees are fat.
- 49:51Speaker 1: It's because it's because I grew too tall too fast.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Fun fact, when that happens, you wake up as a
- 49:59Speaker 1: kid screaming in pain because of growing pains. So that
- 50:03Speaker 1: was also fun. I promise looking up stretches and doing
- 50:11Speaker 1: very specific stretches goes a long way, because like my
- 50:15Speaker 1: left knee gets really bad sometimes and if I just
- 50:20Speaker 1: do those, like actual targeted stretches for my knee, it
- 50:24Speaker 1: feels a lot better.
- 50:26Speaker 4: Well, I guess I kind of did leave out a
- 50:28Speaker 4: portion there. Typically, I typically, if the hotel I am
- 50:33Speaker 4: at has a gym of some sort, I will go
- 50:38Speaker 4: do a few free weights. Yep, I will. I'll go
- 50:43Speaker 4: hit up. I'll go hit up the free weights, and
- 50:45Speaker 4: I'll go hit up the treadmill. Nothing too crazy. I'm
- 50:48Speaker 4: not running a mile. I know some people do. I
- 50:51Speaker 4: know my my doctor sheep like runs a mile and
- 50:55Speaker 4: I'm like, that's too much for me, It's all. But
- 50:57Speaker 4: you know, I'll go I'll go on the treadmill and
- 51:00Speaker 4: do a little walk, do a little free weight, you know,
- 51:03Speaker 4: kind of get the get the blood flowing right. Stretching
- 51:07Speaker 4: is definitely important, though, you know that the best stretches
- 51:11Speaker 4: are those stupid stretches that they make you do in
- 51:14Speaker 4: in uh, you know, like your team safety meeting. You know, yeah,
- 51:19Speaker 4: those are the weird story. Those are the best ones
- 51:22Speaker 4: to do.
- 51:23Speaker 5: Yeah, what's a team safety meeting.
- 51:26Speaker 4: Yeah. Once you go into the workforce, dexter, you'll learn
- 51:31Speaker 4: time from marning stretches and like when your younger years
- 51:34Speaker 4: you're like, oh my god, I gotta do you Now
- 51:38Speaker 4: you're like, man, these are great. Yeah, one day you'll
- 51:43Speaker 4: learn dexter.
- 51:43Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:45Speaker 1: We're kind of repeating partially an episode we did a
- 51:53Speaker 1: while ago, so people we we did the tournament prep
- 51:59Speaker 1: or convince Chin prep or something before. One of the
- 52:05Speaker 1: things that we didn't really touch on that is very
- 52:10Speaker 1: specific to the event we're referencing is how you prepare
- 52:17Speaker 1: for different ormats of events. So in the show notes,
- 52:25Speaker 1: I do have the link to the World Championship information.
- 52:32Speaker 1: And what is really interesting about gorgeous? Oh my gosh, yeah,
- 52:38Speaker 1: people are people are.
- 52:40Speaker 4: Are absolutely gorgeous. Is this the participation Matt? The second one?
- 52:47Speaker 4: Because you've got three gold matts. I'm assuming these are
- 52:49Speaker 4: for because I see world I don't know. They don't
- 52:51Speaker 4: have anything on them other than World Championship. There's an
- 52:55Speaker 4: eventa one that I might spend money on. If anybody
- 52:59Speaker 4: gets that one, just maybe shoot me a DM. Yes.
- 53:02Speaker 1: So for participation you get the Chibi Uh World playmat, which.
- 53:11Speaker 4: Is all Ofkemon.
- 53:17Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's all of the Leviathans, but in like
- 53:21Speaker 1: Chibi form uh.
- 53:22Speaker 4: The are adorable. If you haven't checked it out on
- 53:26Speaker 4: the website, well look at adorable.
- 53:30Speaker 1: The hero ones will be able to be purchased from
- 53:33Speaker 1: the Pluck Prize wall, and then the winners. I believe
- 53:39Speaker 1: I can win versions of the playmat and like specific cards,
- 53:44Speaker 1: but the stamp will be different. It'll say, you know,
- 53:48Speaker 1: like top eight or whatever. I'm not sure if they
- 53:51Speaker 1: have images of those anywhere. But the the trophy is
- 53:57Speaker 1: also super awesome, and then.
- 54:01Speaker 4: They just know what it looks like because you're Cole Robbie.
- 54:04Speaker 1: No, it's down, it's down below the format.
- 54:08Speaker 4: But oh I generated.
- 54:13Speaker 1: So the first day will be the last chance qualifiers,
- 54:18Speaker 1: which will just be normal you know, best of three,
- 54:23Speaker 1: single elimination constructed event, but the World Championship event is
- 54:31Speaker 1: actually a best of three conquest tournament.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Ye.
- 54:38Speaker 1: So each person has to bring three different decks, and
- 54:43Speaker 1: I believe each deck has to be a different faction,
- 54:48Speaker 1: so you can't have like Siggy Zen and Goring because
- 54:54Speaker 1: those are all ortists. Yeah. And then from what I understand,
- 55:00Speaker 1: and each time you are matched against an opponent, they
- 55:03Speaker 1: can ban one of your decks and then you have
- 55:06Speaker 1: to win two matches with the other two, and then
- 55:13Speaker 1: they have a bunch of you know, more information down
- 55:16Speaker 1: here about what changes when it goes from top thirty
- 55:20Speaker 1: two to top sixteen. But if you're going into a
- 55:25Speaker 1: conquest format, what considerations would you guys have or are
- 55:32Speaker 1: you just freaking out that you have to make three
- 55:35Speaker 1: different decks.
- 55:37Speaker 4: I'm panicking that I have to make three different decks.
- 55:41Speaker 2: You have to invest more for sure?
- 55:43Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, okay, so Lyra Yizmir, Now what.
- 55:52Speaker 5: You got to pick another faction? No, I don't want
- 55:54Speaker 5: to place and Muna.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Yeah. I talked about the I think an episode or
- 56:01Speaker 1: two ago when I was talking about how people were
- 56:04Speaker 1: kind of upset about this format. But me coming from
- 56:09Speaker 1: a more esports background, you know, like League of Legends
- 56:14Speaker 1: or Rainbow six Siege I played for a bit, bands
- 56:19Speaker 1: are are like very very normal in that kind of setup.
- 56:24Speaker 1: And it's not always that you're banning, you know, your
- 56:30Speaker 1: opponent's best you know, hero or deck. Sometimes it is,
- 56:35Speaker 1: but sometimes you know, like, hey, my strongest deck is
- 56:41Speaker 1: actually a counter to their strongest deck, So I'm going
- 56:44Speaker 1: to ban the one that is, you know, my weakest matchup.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Like I've been playing, Yeah, I've been playing a lot
- 56:53Speaker 1: of Moyo. If I am sitting down at the table
- 56:57Speaker 1: and I am matched up against someone and they present
- 57:00Speaker 1: a Singasmar deck, I'm banning Sigasmar because that's by far
- 57:04Speaker 1: the absolute worst matchup for Moyo, even if the person's
- 57:09Speaker 1: not a good Sigasmar player. So I think really preparing
- 57:13Speaker 1: for conquest outside of actually building the decks and getting
- 57:18Speaker 1: all the cards, and you know, people are worried about
- 57:22Speaker 1: what is it's nine different uniques. Yeah, you could do
- 57:27Speaker 1: some you know research, whether it be playing games with
- 57:31Speaker 1: all your decks, seeing what your worst matchups are, looking
- 57:37Speaker 1: into you know the players in the tournament, and thirty
- 57:43Speaker 1: nine Cards has basically tournament results for probably ninety nine
- 57:49Speaker 1: percent of the people that are going to be at
- 57:51Speaker 1: this event, so you can kind of see what they've played.
- 57:55Speaker 1: If you don't track your games already and like how
- 57:59Speaker 1: they are into certain matchups, you can definitely start. And
- 58:04Speaker 1: we actually do have a free template on our Patreon
- 58:09Speaker 1: for anyone. I realized the other day that I need
- 58:13Speaker 1: to update it to include the new heroes.
- 58:16Speaker 4: So when I do that, versions stuff going to be
- 58:21Speaker 4: at World. I'm sorry, I'm just checking this out. Yeah, ship, Yeah,
- 58:27Speaker 4: I think giving me the fomo. It really really really
- 58:33Speaker 4: is like number one. I see this sealed three v
- 58:36Speaker 4: three sealed team events are always fun no matter what
- 58:41Speaker 4: game you're in. I don't know exactly how Altered does it,
- 58:50Speaker 4: but like they're always fun to do. Two v two
- 58:54Speaker 4: not so not as much fun as a three v three.
- 58:56Speaker 4: There's nothing, buddy, There's nothing better than sitting down with
- 58:59Speaker 4: two of your friends to just other people you know,
- 59:02Speaker 4: and and if you're being able to ask for help
- 59:05Speaker 4: and well, how would you play this? How would you
- 59:07Speaker 4: play that? Key for used to do team events and
- 59:12Speaker 4: always always a great time, uh to kind of poke around.
- 59:16Speaker 4: I'm looking at I don't know are these stickers. I
- 59:18Speaker 4: don't know what these are if they're stickers or pins,
- 59:21Speaker 4: but they're kind of cool. The pins very very cool.
- 59:24Speaker 4: Sleep they are pushing these sleeves. I think the sleeves
- 59:28Speaker 4: are probably like the weakest thing I've seen on here.
- 59:31Speaker 4: I mean cool, look at sleeves, but like out of
- 59:35Speaker 4: the week like them. The mats are all awesome.
- 59:40Speaker 1: People people go crazy for those ORBS sleeves though, to
- 59:44Speaker 1: be honest, yeah, I think it's because every set has them,
- 59:50Speaker 1: so people are like different too. I want the ORB sleeve.
- 59:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think.
- 59:58Speaker 1: They're slightly different too, they Yeah, yeah, every set has
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: a different ORB back. Yeah, so I think honestly as well,
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: this set of ORB sleeves will be even.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: More three boosters. Yeah, I hope, I hope. I hope
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: they're sliding of you. Those are pretty dope. I don't know,
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: I don't ask me why. I'm all about the chib Yeah.
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Those are just the ope boosters that you can get
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: from playing anywhere with OP.
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: So oh there in cheap.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Yep yep.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: So every yeah, every set they do a different theme
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: for the OP boosters. Last set was everyone at an
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: alternate convention, so you had like pascife selling minotar flushes, which,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: if you don't know, Pascifey is the mother of the minotaur.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: So it's pretty cool. Yeah, this set is Chibi Leviathan's.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: Ah.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: But yeah, very very cool stuff they've They've done very
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: well with prizing. There will be artists there, there will
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: be lower events. There's also events for younger kids, which
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: is super cool.
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: Yeah. I saw that there is a dojo, what do
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: they call it, Kodama's.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Dojo, Podama Academy.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: Yeah, Kodama Academy. Yeah, that's that's cool getting having that tier.
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: I've always thought that more more games should have that
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: kind of that bracketed tier. Pokemon does it. They do
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: a good job of it, where like there's like each
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: age group has like kind of their own events. I
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: don't know if Altered could pull that off. Just I
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: don't know if there's a big enough player base to
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: do that.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Not quite yet. Yeah, there's no. It was actually kind
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: of interesting. Someone came into the discord and they were like, Hey,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: is it okay if my daughter plays in the LCQ
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: she's ten? And they were like, yeah, there's no like
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: age restrictions or anything, you know, just make sure she's
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: prepared and whatnot. But yeah, his daughter does not want
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: to play in the Kodama Academy. She wants to play
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: in the big leagues.
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: Nice.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: I was like, hell yeah. And I responded and I
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: was like, honestly, like I usually have more problems with
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: the adults than the kids, Like sometimes kids can get
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: you know, a little tilted. The theme of this episode.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: But there was a kid at the Dallas PQ for
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Star Wars that was just bad mouthing everyone, but nine
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: out of ten people thought it was hilarious, and I
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: tried to tell him. I was like, look, this kid
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: is your friend, he knows who you are. You can
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: say whatever you want to him. You got to realize
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: not everyone here is your friend. You can't just be
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: bad mouthing everyone.
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: That's bad mouth everyone. As long as you say as
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: long as you say I'm kidding at the end, it
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: doesn't count. Yeah, none of that.
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: To say it.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Yeah, some grown ass man complained about him, of course,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: so but yeah.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: The the other events, though, which you three should be
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: good at saying how you go into it, is uh
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: like draft or sealed. I I don't prepare like for
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: that at all. I know that there are all right,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: so Felix is out too. Do you guys prepare for
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: draft us at all? Is there anything you do ahead
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: of those?
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: I well, I mean not, yes and no. It's no
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: different from my normal like kind of routine, but just
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: kind of I guess more along that line. You gotta
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: prepare for the worst, especially in because I guess that's
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: more of a sealed format than anything. Huh yeah, because
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: like it's such a format of you know, I guess
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: the best way is to put, it is sometimes a
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: good sometimes a shit right, Like it's.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Just yes, sometimes you might just good, right, and you
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: have to prepare for that.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: Sometimes it's great sometimes you know, like it just it
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: is what it is, man, And you just kind of
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: got to realize that going into those formats where there
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: is a little bit of luck involved, it just is
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: what it is. Like you gotta roll with the punches there,
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: and the better you can roll with them again, the
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: best or off you'll be. You know, I I do
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: practice like our sealed format, and really, honestly, like practice
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: really just involves of playing a lot of the sealed format, right,
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: so you kind of know you know what you're looking for.
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: Like when I crack open what I'm looking at, I
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: kind of already have an idea of what I'm looking for, right,
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: so I can use that as a base and kind
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: of run from there. Does that make sense?
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: The best way to practice for limited is just to
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: play a bunch of Limited beforehand so you know how
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: it goes and the good combos and what to look
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: out for.
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: Stuff like that.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: You don't do anything specifically before each game or before
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: the tournament and specific but just getting lots of reps
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: in with those formats is great, definitely gives you an
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: upper hand over people that don't have that same experience.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: You can also if you wanted to review, you know,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: cards and come up yeah, yeah, for sure strategies ahead
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: of time and in altered I would say one of
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: the best ways to do that would be to like
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: go to a guy trying, you know, reveal spreadsheet or
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: something like that, and just you know, read through every card.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: I cannot tell you how often, going into a new set,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: I undervalued a card until I was more actively looking
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: at it or.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, when.
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: You get destroyed by it, yeah.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh damn, that's what that card means.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Like a very good example for the new Skybound Odyssey
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: set is I'm pretty sure none of us put Counting
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Sheep on our list, or at least we didn't, you know,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: focus on it that much.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: I looked at it and I don't remember if it
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: put it.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't like it.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: If okay, this is this is a perfect example. You
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: look at the card and you're like, okay, you know whatever.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: You can create po wooly backs and then you put
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: things to sleep. The thing is, if you look at
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: that card longer. It puts every sea card, no matter
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: what expedition it is to sleep that costs one or less.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: You know what, also costs less than one to all tokens.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: It is a very strong card.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: It's one that I would consider running as a one
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: of when I looked at it.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I played no Characters tournament today and yeah the
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: field had counting sheep and bait and it was insane.
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: That's so good.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it was ridiculous. So reading the cards, really ingesting them,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: thinking through them, I would say it's very a very
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: good way to prepare for sealed and draft events.
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: You alrighty, well, is there anything else we want to
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: go over? Let me check our little note skis here. Yeah,
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: if you want to read ape not we'll Recapella another time. Mark,
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: make sure you go over to the Patreon where I
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: might read you a Capello one day. Who knows, maybe
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: we'll maybe we'll do that as a fun thing over there.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: Make sure you do uh, make sure you sign up
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: for the Paige san you do get the shows a
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: little bit. Early events are as kind of normal, I guess,
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: except you're going to have worlds. Uh. Actually, if you're
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: hearing this, you're you might be there. Nobody really knows.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: And as we said already, probably no episode next week
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: because I will be in Paris and Felix will be
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: doing Felix things.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: No, I'll be in Saint Louis. I'll be at a
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: Pokemon conference.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: Pokemon conference. Pokemon has conferences.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: We're going to be at the American Library Association and
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: we're going to talk with teachers and librarians about bringing
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Pokemon to libraries.
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: Oh, it's an.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Official program that they're pushing that got postponed due to
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: COVID and they're trying to bring it back.
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: Get those kids off the streets, get them plans Pokemon.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: I mean the library league that I run has like
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: forty kids.
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: Okay, I mean that for a lot.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: And there children, so they're like age seven to thirteen,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: got it. So that's that's a demographic that you're pushing for.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: So that's what we're going to talk about.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: Make sure you go over to w dot GG, use
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: code draw better, get yourself a tub of energy. Maybe
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: they can get it to you before you go to
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: power and compete over there. Make sure that you have
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: all your hydrated and you're strong and you're heavily caffeinated
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: because that's what I need. And I like coffee, big
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: fan of coffee. I don't know how y'all feel about it,
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: but I like coffee.
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I drink And.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: Would that be good luck to everybody competing in Worlds
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: as you are competing right now, safe travels to mister
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: Cole Robbie on his way to and from Paris, or
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: I should just say, France? Is it in Paris proper?
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: It's in Peris proper, though I think that I am.
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: Not because you know, like a lot of us say,
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: like it's close to Chicago, so it's just in Chicago,
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: but really, isn't like Schomberg, you know.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's in technically uh nui morn France.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: Yes, I will.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: I will be in Paris at some point, so.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: You would almost have to. It's like a once in
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: a lifetime maybe once in a lifetime experience, right yep,
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: at least for me. But but we want to thank
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: everyone for listening, and hey, we got a shout out
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: to send. Mister West will shout out to you. And
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: with that being said, we will see you all Afterworlds later, you.
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: Do a greci, sohy aren't you you feel like a
- 1:12:29Speaker 7: same time in somebody on a sidney. You're like a creature.
- 1:12:34Speaker 7: Penny of me till the soil. You'll live to say,
- 1:12:46Speaker 7: since you're like a creature.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: And you tell the
