Philosopher Bry Willis discusses metaphysics and his position of Mediated Encounter Realism (or Mediated Encounter Ontology). Relations are not secondary connexions between already completed entities. The entities are abstractions drawn from relatively stable patterns within relational events.

An encounter-event includes:

a form of mediation;

an organised presentation;

constraints that prevent the event from varying arbitrarily.
