Lucas: Great instinct! Today we're covering classic classroom commands. Perfect if you're studying in France or just want to follow along with a French video lesson. Luna: Oh, I love that. So what's the first one? Lucas: The most basic: Écoutez. It means 'listen'. Say it with me slowly: Écoutez. Luna: Écoutez. Lucas: Exactly. Écoutez. Now a little faster: Écoutez. Luna: Écoutez. Lucas: Perfect! Imagine your teacher says that when they want everyone's attention. Next, when you need to repeat something: Répétez. 'Repeat'. Luna: Répétez. Lucas: Yes! Répétez. Now let's put them together. I'll say a phrase, then you repeat. Écoutez et répétez. Ready? Luna: Ready! Lucas: Écoutez.... Écoutez. Luna: Écoutez. Lucas: Répétez.... Répétez. Luna: Répétez. Lucas: Now two commands for standing and sitting. Levez-vous means 'stand up'. Luna: Levez-vous. Lucas: And Asseyez-vous means 'sit down'. Luna: Asseyez-vous. That one is a tongue twister! Lucas: It is. Let's break it down: a seyez vous. Asseyez-vous. Luna: Asseyez-vous. Lucas: Awesome. Now imagine a teacher saying: Levez-vous! Then later: Asseyez-vous! Let's practice: Levez-vous! Luna: Levez-vous! Lucas: Asseyez-vous! Luna: Asseyez-vous! Lucas: You got it! Last one: Ouvrez votre livre. 'Open your book'. Luna: Ouvrez votre livre. Lucas: Yes. Ouvrez votre livre. Now let's do a mini-scene. I'm the teacher, you're the student. I say: Écoutez. Lucas: Répétez: Levez-vous. Luna: Levez-vous. Lucas: Ouvrez votre livre. Luna: Ouvrez votre livre. Lucas: Asseyez-vous.
