  SPEAKER_00: I did just over 10 years in the British Army, retired as a sergeant.

  SPEAKER_00: So I emailed to find out what my reserve was, what my status was.

  SPEAKER_00: And the email, which I've actually got here, I'm just going to read it out to you.

  SPEAKER_00: It said, good afternoon, thanks for your email, etc, etc.

  SPEAKER_00: I've checked your record and confirmed when I left the army.

  SPEAKER_00: I was discharged to the regular reserve for the maximum period of six years.

  SPEAKER_00: So that ended back in 2018.

  SPEAKER_00: And then they said I was transferred to the regular reserve liability and then
• 3:54
  SPEAKER_00: the recall reserve for a period of 18 years.
• 3:59
  SPEAKER_00: Combined with another 12 years for something or other.

  SPEAKER_00: So it's supposed to end, anyway, 2030, right?

  SPEAKER_00: So that's what it said.

  SPEAKER_00: I got clarification on it.

  SPEAKER_00: That was that in my mind.

  SPEAKER_00: Well, no, they've now changed the law.

  SPEAKER_00: They've changed the law so that at 55 years old, I'm no longer off the reserve.
