- 0:00Matthew chapter 13. Let us pray.
- 0:05Lord our God, we thank you. Father, we thank you for another
- 0:10day. We thank you that you have given
- 0:12us great gifts this morning. Lord, you've given us breath.
- 0:16You've given us family. Lord, you have given us purpose.
- 0:20And so, God, we tap into that. Lord, we tap into the power
- 0:25source. And Lord, we are asking for a
- 0:27divine touch today. Father, we are asking that you
- 0:30will come and reveal eternal truths to us today.
- 0:34Father, I pray in the name of Jesus that you will continue to
- 0:39push us into greatness. Father, bring about the storms
- 0:45of perfection. God and I pray that as we are
- 0:48placed in the refiners fire, God, that we come out looking
- 0:52more like Christ each and every day.
- 0:54God, sanctify us. Lord, I pray for a consecration.
- 0:59God, I pray that we flip over the tables.
- 1:02God, drive out the money changers.
- 1:05God, upon our hearts and our minds.
- 1:07Lord, I pray that we will elevate Jesus truth above our
- 1:12emotions. We will elevate the gospel of
- 1:16Jesus Christ over our own feelings.
- 1:19Lord, I pray that we will put every circumstance under they
- 1:24heal. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 1:28against any distractions. I pray in the name of Jesus
- 1:32against any demonic attacks. God, I pray in the name of
- 1:36Jesus, that you, Father, will completely circle us and hedge
- 1:42us about. Father, I pray that you will
- 1:44protect us. Lord, I pray that you will give
- 1:47us strength for the battle, Father, as we put on the full
- 1:51armor. God, I pray that you will help
- 1:54us to tell the truth and to live the right way.
- 1:57I pray that we'll run the race, Lord, and have peace.
- 2:02God, I pray that we will be pushers of the gospel of Jesus
- 2:05Christ to every person that we meet.
- 2:09Lord, I pray that you will remind us of our salvation
- 2:12story. I pray that you will remind us,
- 2:15God, of all the things that you have done.
- 2:18And Lord, I pray for a renewing of the mind today.
- 2:23Lord, I pray that we will tell our testimony to everyone that
- 2:28we meet. Lord, I pray in the name of
- 2:31Jesus, you help us to lift up the shield of faith today.
- 2:36I pray that we raise our level of faith up over our
- 2:41circumstances. I pray that you will help us to
- 2:43raise our level of faith up over all of our emotions.
- 2:49I pray that you will help us to raise our level of faith up over
- 2:53the reality all around us, God, the physical reality that we
- 2:59believe is higher than your word, Lord.
- 3:02And so I just pray right now that you give us supernatural
- 3:06faith to look into, peek into, peer into the reality of the
- 3:11spiritual realm. Lord, I pray that you give us
- 3:13the faith to believe God that you can do anything.
- 3:17And so, Lord, I'm praying right now that you help us to do war
- 3:21against the enemy, Lord, with the words that we hold in our
- 3:25hands. Lord, I pray in the name of
- 3:27Jesus, that your word, Father, that became flesh, Your word,
- 3:33Father, that was there at the beginning, Your word, Father,
- 3:37that is you, Father, You are the word Jesus Christ.
- 3:43And so, Lord, I just pray that as we do battle with the enemy,
- 3:47Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, help us.
- 3:50Lord, make him flee at that name, the name that is above all
- 3:55names, Jesus Christ, we bring upon our lips.
- 3:58Lord, we confess. Lord, we repent.
- 4:01Lord, we are asking for a cleansing.
- 4:04God, cleanse the temple. Father, drive out anything that
- 4:08is not pure, that is not holy, that is not righteous.
- 4:13Father, I pray that you will help us to identify.
- 4:17Holy Spirit, help us to identify anything within our own lives
- 4:22that does not belong. God, you are so good.
- 4:25You are so worthy, and you're so holy.
- 4:27Thank you Jesus, for another day to come and worship you.
- 4:31Thank you Jesus, for another day to come and sit at your feet and
- 4:35to learn your ways. And God, there's so much
- 4:38tapestry here. Lord, there's so much of your
- 4:40story here. God, we can live 10 lifetimes
- 4:43and never know it all. And God, we just rest in the
- 4:47finished work of Jesus Christ today.
- 4:49Thank you for that. Thank you for salvation.
- 4:52Thank you for saving us to the utmost.
- 4:55Father, thank you for rescuing us from ourselves.
- 4:58Thank you for rescuing us from bondage and slavery.
- 5:01Thank you, Father, that you have rescued us from our sinful
- 5:06desires and God, you have given us the mind of Christ.
- 5:10Lord, you have forgiven us from everything that we've ever done
- 5:13or our doing or will ever do. God, you make us appear.
- 5:18We are holy because you are holy.
- 5:20And it's in the mighty name of Jesus Christ that I pray.
- 5:24Amen. Well, let's start in verse one.
- 5:30The same day went Jesus out of the house and sat by the
- 5:36seaside. So you have to go back to
- 5:40chapter 12 to figure out which same day is he talking about.
- 5:45This was whenever his brothers and his mother were trying to
- 5:49push in on him, trying to get him to come back to his senses.
- 5:53They had not accurately put their faith in the Lord Jesus
- 5:58Christ. They were still brother, they
- 6:00were still son. They hadn't made the
- 6:04identification of Him as the Son of God, the Incarnate.
- 6:09And so Jesus that same day went out of the house and sat by the
- 6:14seaside. Verse 2.
- 6:19And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so
- 6:23that he went into a ship and sat, and the whole multitude
- 6:27stood on the shore. So think of the acoustics as he
- 6:32entered into the boat. Think of Him with the backdrop
- 6:36of the sea behind him. Think of him sitting to teach.
- 6:44What power? What meekness did Jesus display
- 6:48here as the crowds in the multitude stood to receive from
- 6:54the greatest teacher of all time, the one who slung the
- 6:59stars in the universe, the One who made the depths of the sea,
- 7:04sat to teach. What meekness is this verse 3
- 7:12And he spoke many things unto them in parables saying, behold,
- 7:17A sower went forth to sow. So here comes a very famous if
- 7:22you've been walking with the Lord for any amount of time, you
- 7:25will understand some of these things that we're about to talk
- 7:28about, but let's not miss it in the newness in the reality of
- 7:33what Jesus was trying to portray to everyone.
- 7:37Let's not just become calloused. Let's not just gloss over, let's
- 7:42lock in. Let's let his words wash over us
- 7:46a fresh and a new today, friends. 4 And when he sowed,
- 7:53some seeds fell by the wayside, and the birds came and devoured
- 7:59them up. So he's going to expound upon
- 8:02this parable and you know, this parable was orchestrated.
- 8:09This isn't a an allegory. OK, there is.
- 8:12We can't just read into it. What Jesus was doing is the same
- 8:17thing he does with you today, friend.
- 8:20He gives us very simple truths wrapped up in a mystery.
- 8:26And what we are to do is to go in and think about what Jesus is
- 8:32saying. And it's hidden from those who
- 8:35have hardened their hearts. It's hidden from those who have
- 8:38made a love decision for the world.
- 8:40It's hidden from those who only think of money, who only think
- 8:45of power and greed. And what is happening here is
- 8:49the same thing that is happening in our day, in our age.
- 8:53Jesus is still speaking. He's speaking through His word.
- 8:57If you will accept it, if you will clear out all of your
- 9:01presuppositions, if you will clear out all of your
- 9:04prejudiceness, if you will clear out your hardened hearts, then
- 9:09it will fall upon the soft soil and you will be able to receive
- 9:13it. And that is what He is talking
- 9:15about here. Let's keep going. 5 Some fell
- 9:19upon Stony places where they had not much earth, and forthwith
- 9:24they sprung up because they had no deepness of earth.
- 9:29So again, Jesus is going to expound upon these things for
- 9:33the disciples. They're going to come in,
- 9:34they're going to ask him. Please tell us what this means.
- 9:38Because they had not yet received the Holy Spirit, They
- 9:41had not yet received the Helper, and they were trying to figure
- 9:44out exactly who this man was. What kind of man is this, that
- 9:49the wind and waves obey him? And they're going to find out
- 9:53very soon. Friends, let's keep going. 6 And
- 9:58when the sun was up, they were scorched, and because they had
- 10:02no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and
- 10:07the thorns sprung up and choked them, but other eight but other
- 10:14fell into good ground and brought forth fruit, some a
- 10:18hundredfold, some 60 fold, some 30 fold.
- 10:23Nine. Who has ears to hear?
- 10:26Let him hear. So here, 56789 here Jesus is
- 10:33telling us not just the people there, the multitudes there of
- 10:37that time, but Jesus is telling us to open our spiritual ears
- 10:42up. He's saying, listen, this is how
- 10:46the world works. This is how the gospel works.
- 10:49This is how the Word of God works.
- 10:53And if we were to just do some very simple mathematical
- 10:58equations, you're going to see the broad Rd. here.
- 11:01You're going to see the straight and narrow way.
- 11:05You're going to see that only 25% would receive and produce
- 11:13fruit. And then there was the 100 and
- 11:16the 60 and the 30. So here you can see that only a
- 11:22few find that narrow gate, only a few find this straight way.
- 11:28And most people, even those who are quick to receive the word of
- 11:33God, even those who sit and listen to the word of God, the
- 11:37devil snatches it out. The devil takes God's word and
- 11:42makes them believe that God's not good and he doesn't have
- 11:45their best in mind. You can see them, those that
- 11:49make the quick decision to follow after him, and because
- 11:53there is no substance, as soon as trials and persecution comes,
- 11:58they leave the way. They leave the straight and
- 12:02narrow way. And then you can see those who
- 12:06they are following after him. But the cares of this world come
- 12:10in and choke them out. Friends, you can see it all
- 12:14unfolding here and He's going to expound upon it because the
- 12:18disciples were dull at this time.
- 12:21They had not yet been refined. And He's telling us, listen up
- 12:25in verse 910, the disciples came and said unto him, Why do you
- 12:31speak unto them in parables? So it seems as if the disciples
- 12:37were saying, make it plain, Lord, why are you trying to trip
- 12:41people up with using all of this farming technology, all of this
- 12:47farming terminology? And so you can see the disciples
- 12:52are hungry and they want others to understand what it is that
- 12:55he's saying. And even they themselves were
- 12:58only catching glimpses and pieces of the Lord's parables.
- 13:0311 And he, he answered and said unto them, Because it is given
- 13:08unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven, but to
- 13:13them it is not given. So it's no different in our day
- 13:18and our hour, if you are truly tapped into the power source, if
- 13:22you truly are following after the Lord God Almighty, it's all
- 13:25clear, it all makes sense. But there are so many people and
- 13:30it's outlined in the other seed that has fallen on shallow soil
- 13:36and it's falling on the ground and the birds come and pick it
- 13:40up and it's falling amongst the tares.
- 13:43You can see so many people that have the same word of God that
- 13:47you do. Fruitful friend.
- 13:50And they are not producing fruit because they're still steeped
- 13:54and wrapped up in the world and they only like to tip their hat
- 13:57at God. They only like to have the
- 14:00attendance chart marked. They only like to be seen giving
- 14:04the envelope passing through the plate.
- 14:07They only like to be in their suit and ties in the restaurants
- 14:11to show everybody that they're holier than thou.
- 14:14And it's no different today than it was in his day.
- 14:18And He's telling the true disciples of him, those that
- 14:21will say, where else will we go? For you have the words of
- 14:24eternal life. He's telling them that it is
- 14:28revealed to them. And it's no different for you
- 14:30today, friend. If you truly know God Almighty,
- 14:34these words within Genesis all the way to Revelation, they jump
- 14:39off the page, they jump in your heart, they make perfect sense
- 14:42to you. And it all spells Jesus,
- 14:45friends. From Genesis all the way to
- 14:49Malachi points to Jesus. And then from Acts all the way
- 14:55to Revelation they point back to Jesus.
- 14:58It's Jesus on every page, every jot and every title.
- 15:03It all makes sense. It's him, friends, and all of
- 15:06it, from the sacrifices and the festivals, from all of it,
- 15:12friends, from what we do here in the New Covenant, from the bread
- 15:17and the wine, it all points to Jesus Christ.
- 15:22And he's saying that we will know the mysteries of the
- 15:28Kingdom of heaven. Praise God 12 For whosoever has
- 15:32to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance, but
- 15:37whosoever has not from him shall be taken away even that he has.
- 15:44So here is a principle. It's a biblical principle in
- 15:48verse 12 that you can see that whenever you are hungry for the
- 15:53Word of God, when you are striving after the Word of God,
- 15:56when you're a student of the Word of God, God gives you more
- 16:00and more and more to munch on friends and He can satisfy you
- 16:06and leave you longing for more. But for those who do not care
- 16:10and they just want to do their little devotional at the
- 16:13beginning of the day, they just want to do their church
- 16:16attendance at one time a week, then they what they do have will
- 16:21be taken from them. And you can see that when they
- 16:24get tripped up in their theology and they start believing all the
- 16:27lies of the enemy because they're not truly striving after
- 16:31God Almighty. They only like to look the part
- 16:3613 therefore speak I to them in parables, because they sing not,
- 16:43and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
- 16:49They were there to see a miracle worker.
- 16:51They were there for the healings.
- 16:53They were there to be fed the physical food.
- 16:58They were not there for the bread of life in the living
- 17:02water. They were only there because
- 17:05they were on the hype train. And there's still a lot of
- 17:07people like that today. The people crying out Hosanna
- 17:12didn't even know why they were crying out Hosanna. 14 And in
- 17:18them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which said, By
- 17:24hearing you shall hear and shall not understand, and seeing you
- 17:31shall see and shall not perceive.
- 17:35So Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would come and the people would
- 17:42hear his voice, but they wouldn't actually hear his
- 17:44heart. People would see him, but they
- 17:47wouldn't actually see the Son of God. 15 For this people's heart
- 17:54has wax gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their
- 18:00eyes they have closed, lest at any time they should see with
- 18:04their eyes and hear with their ears, should understand with
- 18:07their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal
- 18:11them. 14 And 15 Really this whole chapter, friends, is
- 18:17profound. Jesus is showing us, He's
- 18:22showing the disciples, then he's showing the history of 2000
- 18:28years of scholars who have gone in and studied these words.
- 18:33He's showing us, he's showing the world that he has the power
- 18:39to convert the entire world at a moment's notice.
- 18:45And we must keep it in mind that every knee will bow and every
- 18:50tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.
- 18:54And that is every single person who has ever been born is here
- 18:59today and or will ever be born. It's every man and woman and
- 19:06child will bow and confess Jesus as Lord, and he's showing them
- 19:14here that it is an intentional mystery and he does not want
- 19:21false allegiance. Friends, he does not want false
- 19:27worship. Friends, he does not want us to
- 19:31choose him because we have to. He does not want us to just
- 19:36follow blindly after him. He wants us to make a love
- 19:39decision for him, Friends. And I remember the time when I
- 19:45made that love decision. It was after reading this very
- 19:49book that we're in, in Matthew. And we got to the crucifixion
- 19:53scene. And I'm sitting there and I'm
- 19:56thinking through why Jesus gave up the ghost.
- 20:01Why did he lay down his life? And it was for me and it was for
- 20:07you. And when I realized this.
- 20:11I made the love decision that no matter what came my way, I would
- 20:15finish this race well. And I pray that you have made
- 20:18that love decision, that this word that you hold in your hand
- 20:22is infallible and inerrant. I pray that you've made the love
- 20:26decision that Jesus is Lord. I pray that you have made the
- 20:30love decision that you could never save yourself.
- 20:33I pray that you have made the love decision that you could
- 20:36never behave your way into heaven.
- 20:38I pray that you've made the love decision that there's only two
- 20:43destinations, there's heaven and hell.
- 20:46And I pray that you've made the love decision for Jesus Christ
- 20:51as your Lord and Messiah and King and Friend because he loves
- 20:59you and he is good. And He shows us here in these
- 21:07verses that it is a intentional mystery because He does not want
- 21:15us to just choose Him because we see Him as the Son of God, but
- 21:20we choose Him because we see Him as our Savior.
- 21:24We choose Him because we see Him as our Lord, and that He loves
- 21:32us. 16 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for
- 21:41they hear. For you cannot even come unto
- 21:43the Father unless the Spirit of God draws you unto Himself.
- 21:49And then we have to have enough strength to acknowledge that He
- 21:58is God, and He gives us that strength.
- 22:00But so many people will continuously stiff arm, and they
- 22:05are blaspheming the Holy Spirit, because they will not accept
- 22:09Jesus Christ and the goodness and the love that he has for
- 22:13them. 17 For truly I say unto you, that many prophets and
- 22:20righteous men have desired to see those things which you see
- 22:24and have not seen them, and to hear those things which you hear
- 22:29and have not heard them. So all the prophets of old long
- 22:33to see this day. They long to see the new
- 22:36Covenant. They caught glimpses of it, they
- 22:39caught visions of it, they saw it and they longed to see it and
- 22:44they wanted to see it in their lifetime.
- 22:46And they died hide and Jesus had not come.
- 22:51And you can see Anna, and you can see how she was so excited
- 22:58to see the little baby. And you can see how so many
- 23:03people were excited because they knew that all the prophecies
- 23:08were being fulfilled. And here the disciples were
- 23:11still kicking the tires. They were still trying to figure
- 23:14out if Jesus was who He said He was, if Jesus was the Messiah.
- 23:20And even the Pharisees and the Sadducees, they were trying to
- 23:26figure out when the Messiah would come.
- 23:29And you can see it here. You can see how Jesus is
- 23:32announcing that He is here. Someone greater than the temple
- 23:37is there in their midst. And many people missed it
- 23:40because they were just after the gifts of Him.
- 23:43They were not after Him and Him alone.
- 23:46And I pray that He is enough for you, that it is not about the
- 23:51rewards, that it is not about heaven.
- 23:53It is not about seeing your loved ones again.
- 23:57It's all about Him and him alone.
- 23:59Friends 18 hear you, therefore the parable of the sower.
- 24:08When anyone hears the word of the Kingdom and understands it
- 24:13not, then comes the wicked 1 And catches away that which was sown
- 24:19in his heart. This is he which receives seed
- 24:22by the wayside. So here he's telling them that
- 24:26the seed that was thrown on the ground, the birds came and ate
- 24:31it up. And he's telling us that the
- 24:32birds are the devil, the birds are Satan, and he's snatching
- 24:39the word that would go down into the soil to produce fruit.
- 24:44The Satan, our enemy, the deceiver, the accuser of the
- 24:49brethren, comes in and sows lies into our mind and hearts, and
- 24:55tells us that God is not who he says he is, that God can't do
- 24:59the things that he said he will, that God is not real.
- 25:02And he steals all of the word out of the unbeliever's heart
- 25:08when it enters in. 20 But he that receives the seed into
- 25:13Stony places, the same as he that hears the word and receives
- 25:18it with joy, 21 Yet has he no root in himself?
- 25:26But he enduresed for a while. But when tribulation or
- 25:30persecution arises because of the Word, by and by he is
- 25:35offended. How many people are offended by
- 25:37God's Word? And I want you to know that the
- 25:39Word of God is an offense. We do not need to worry about
- 25:45offending people. And here you can see it,
- 25:49friends, that whenever the pressures of this world come,
- 25:53when persecution and tribulation come, people who have no
- 25:57substance, they have no grounding, they have no deepness
- 26:02with God, they fall away because they cannot handle all the
- 26:08pressures that come. And you can see what Jesus is
- 26:12talking about here. Make it plain. 30 or 22.
- 26:17He also that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the
- 26:22word and the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches.
- 26:27Choke the word and He becomes unfruitful.
- 26:31I would say by and large, the vast majority of people are the
- 26:36ones caught up in this third seed.
- 26:39Friends, you can see so many people start out the right way
- 26:43and then they mix a little bit of the world in with their faith
- 26:48and then eventually they are trying to masquerade as people
- 26:53of light. But in reality, deep down they
- 26:56don't actually believe in God anymore.
- 26:58They're just using God to get their way.
- 27:01They're just using God to get people to win people over.
- 27:07And then they actually are more in love with this world and the
- 27:14worldliness than they are with following after God.
- 27:17And if God was to say, lay it all down, they could not and
- 27:21they would not. They would turn their backs on
- 27:23God because they love the world and the lust of the eyes and the
- 27:28pride of life more than they love following after the King of
- 27:33kings. And it is despicable, friends,
- 27:37and it is unfruitful, friends. 23 But he that receives seed
- 27:43into the good ground is he that hears the word and understands
- 27:48it, which also bears fruit, and brings forth a hundredfold. 60
- 27:57And some 30 This is a tree that has fruit on it.
- 28:05This is the harvest and this is the Grove full of fruit.
- 28:14You can see ministries where they were started and it wasn't
- 28:21long that there was so much deceitfulness that was found out
- 28:26and it shut down. This right here, this fourth
- 28:30seed are the ministries that get started and they end well.
- 28:36They run the race well. They counted the cost and they
- 28:42had the blessings from God to be able to continue running the
- 28:51race. They did not compromise in the
- 28:56little things. They did not do things to be
- 29:00seen. They did not do things for the
- 29:02tax exempt write off status. They did not do things because
- 29:08it financially benefited themselves.
- 29:13They did it because they truly believed in God.
- 29:17They truly believed that there was something more to this life
- 29:22than just getting rich and living in pleasure.
- 29:29They truly believed the words that they read and they did not
- 29:34seek to be known. They did not seek to have books
- 29:39written about them. They did it because they truly
- 29:43believed in God, and God rewards and has rewarded those men and
- 29:49women of faith that were not self seeking, but they truly
- 29:55loved him and believed every word.
- 30:00That is the seed that produces much fruit. 24 Another parable
- 30:07he put forth unto unto them, saying, the Kingdom of heaven is
- 30:11likened unto a man which sows good seed in his field. 25 But
- 30:18while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat,
- 30:23and went his way. We could keep reading, but let's
- 30:26camp out here for just a second. What is Jesus saying the Kingdom
- 30:32of heaven is like? He's saying here that it is like
- 30:37a man that sows good seed in his field.
- 30:40So God sowed the church into the world, but then the devil while
- 30:48the the people of God were sleeping, which is a wake up
- 30:52call to us. Wake up, O sleeper, let's make
- 30:57sure we put our hand to the plow and not look back.
- 31:00Do not fall asleep, friends. Do not let the enemy have any
- 31:05foothold, and do not compromise even in the little things.
- 31:09O sleeper, do not be like the unwise virgins.
- 31:15Keep your Wicks trim, keep your lamps full.
- 31:18Fill it with the oil of the Holy Spirit.
- 31:21That is the difference here. And these men were asleep
- 31:25because they were so worried about the world.
- 31:28They were so caught up in the world.
- 31:30And you're going to see what happens.
- 31:32While they were sleeping, Satan came and he sowed tares among
- 31:37the wheat and went his way. So you can see that the tares
- 31:41were the false believers. These were the ones that crept
- 31:44in unawares. These were the ones who
- 31:47intermingled themselves within the church.
- 31:50They were not actually true believers and they were not
- 31:53actually found out until it was too late.
- 31:56But when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then
- 32:01appeared the tares also. So here you can see how the
- 32:04church is growing, and within the church you see all these
- 32:09different sects come up. You can see the Jehovah's
- 32:14Witnesses, you can see the Mormons, you can see the
- 32:18Catholicism, the Roman Catholicism.
- 32:20You can see all of it starting to creep up within the true
- 32:25believers of Jesus Christ. You can see the legalists and
- 32:32the liberals coming in to the church and saying that evil is
- 32:39good and that good is evil. You can see it right here,
- 32:43friends. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said
- 32:50unto him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field?
- 32:54From whence then has it tears? So the tears in the wheat, when
- 32:59they were springing up, they look the same.
- 33:02But as they started to produce the head on there, then you
- 33:08could see that it was not wheat, that it was the tears.
- 33:11And here the angels are asking God, didn't you sow good seed
- 33:17into the field, which is the earth?
- 33:20And God says, Yes, I did. 28 And he said unto them, An enemy has
- 33:25done this. The servant said unto him, Will
- 33:31you then that we go and gather them up?
- 33:34So the angels are asking God and saying, Do you want us to go and
- 33:38take all the tares out? What does God say?
- 33:42But he said no, unless while you gather up the tares, you root up
- 33:46also the wheat with them. So you can see that God is
- 33:50allowing all of this to happen all around us because He knows
- 33:54that there is this end of the age that is coming.
- 33:58And God is not worried, friends. He's not worried how it's all
- 34:04going to go. God's not pacing about in heaven
- 34:07trying to figure out his next move.
- 34:10God is omnipotent and God is omniscient, and he knows that
- 34:14it's going to bring much more fruit.
- 34:16It's going to bring much more of a harvest for him to leave it.
- 34:22He does not want to root up the good that is in this world,
- 34:26friends. He lets us tarry.
- 34:30There was a time whenever my family had all professed to be
- 34:36believers and they were all baptized and I prayed to the
- 34:40Lord. Lord come.
- 34:42And then he did not, and I was disappointed.
- 34:46And then someone that was close to us, they'd given their life
- 34:52to him. And the Lord whispered to me and
- 34:53he said, what if I would have came whenever you asked me to?
- 34:58What about them? And I wept, and I said, Lord,
- 35:05you take as long as you want. And that is this picture here.
- 35:0830 Let both grow together until the harvest, and then the time
- 35:12of harvest. I will say to the reapers,
- 35:14gather you together first the tares and bind them in bundles
- 35:19to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.
- 35:22These are the true believers coming into heaven.
- 35:25These are the true believers coming into the Lord's presence,
- 35:29and this is all of the Deadwood and those that produce no fruit
- 35:34being bound up and thrown into the fire.
- 35:40There are only two places that when you die, there are only two
- 35:46places you will either go to heaven or hell.
- 35:49There is no third option. It's either eternal damnation,
- 35:55which is separation from God. It is the torment, it is where
- 36:00the worm never dies. And we need to make sure that we
- 36:04live in light of eternity. We need to view every woman and
- 36:08every man and every child in light of eternity, that they are
- 36:12going to spend eternity forever and ever and ever and ever
- 36:17somewhere. And there are only two options
- 36:19here. Friends 31 Another parable he
- 36:23put forth unto them, saying the Kingdom of heaven is like to a
- 36:29grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.
- 36:34So here there's so much study and so much that has been said
- 36:43about these next parables. There's so many things that
- 36:50people have written about when it comes to these parables, but
- 36:55we must keep an open mind. 32 Which indeed is the least of all
- 37:02the seeds, but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs
- 37:07and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come to lodge
- 37:10in the branches thereof. So the basic understanding of
- 37:15this, it's the faith of a mustard seed.
- 37:18It is the starting of the church which grows very large and
- 37:23provides rest. That is the basic understanding
- 37:30of this parable. But you can also see in this
- 37:34parable that this seed that has grown up so large has the birds.
- 37:45And if we liken it back to the parable of the four seeds that
- 37:50are being sown on different soil, you can see how the birds
- 37:55represent the enemy. And you can see how the enemy
- 37:58has crept into the church unawares here.
- 38:02And he's telling us to beware of that fact, and he's liking it.
- 38:07Back to the previous parable there where he tells us what the
- 38:13Kingdom of God is like with the tares that come up amongst the
- 38:17wheat. And it is also likened here
- 38:19again with the birds coming in and resting in the branches.
- 38:23And we need to be on guard of how the enemy has crept into the
- 38:29church and he is systematically shutting it down.
- 38:34He's systematically deluding it and He's systematically
- 38:39polluting it, friends, and we need to be aware of that fact.
- 38:44And Jesus is telling us to here. 33 another parable.
- 38:48He spoke unto them. And the Kingdom of heaven is
- 38:51like unto leaven, which a woman took and hid, and three measures
- 38:57of meal until the whole was leavened.
- 39:01So here's another mystery of the leaven.
- 39:06And leaven is always likened unto sin.
- 39:09And you can see here how Jesus is telling us to beware of the
- 39:14leaven of the Pharisees, to beware of the leaven of the
- 39:18false doctrine, to beware of the leaven of those who creep in
- 39:24unawares. And they sow this leaven into
- 39:27the whole batch. And the whole batch is corrupt,
- 39:31friends, and we need to be aware of that fact. 34 And all these
- 39:36things spoke Jesus unto the multitude in parables, and
- 39:40without a parable spoke he not unto them. 35 that it might be
- 39:44fulfilled which the prophet spoke, saying, I will open my
- 39:49mouth in parables, and I will utter things which have been
- 39:53kept secret from the foundation of the world.
- 39:58So we can see that in Psalms it was prophesied that when Jesus
- 40:04came he would speak in parables, and the disciples would soon
- 40:11find out what all of these things mean. 36.
- 40:15Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house,
- 40:19and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the
- 40:25parable of the tares of the field.
- 40:28So they're just saying, Lord, make it plain our brains hurt
- 40:32from having to play mental gymnastics with all the
- 40:36parables. Just tell us what you mean by
- 40:39these things, so that we can know them and teach them. 36 Is
- 40:45whenever the disciples are asking him. 37 He answered and
- 40:49said unto them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38
- 40:55The field is the world. The good seed are the children
- 40:59of the Kingdom, but the tares are the children of the wicked.
- 41:02139 The enemy that sowed them is the devil.
- 41:06The harvest is the end of the world.
- 41:08The reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are
- 41:13gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be at the end of
- 41:17this world. 41 The Son of Man shall send forth his angels, and
- 41:21they shall gather out of his Kingdom all things that offend,
- 41:27and them which do iniquity, 42 and shall cast them into the
- 41:32furnace of fire. There shall be wailing and
- 41:35gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the
- 41:41Son in the Kingdom of the Father.
- 41:43Who has ears. Let him hear.
- 41:47Wow. Jesus makes it as plain as he
- 41:50possibly can. He tells them who all of the
- 41:53pictures that he was trying to paint.
- 41:55He tells them who all those characters are in the reality of
- 41:59what will come. Friends 44 Again the Kingdom of
- 42:05heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field.
- 42:09The witch when a man has found, he hides, and for joy he goes
- 42:15and sells all that he has, and buys that field.
- 42:20So here in 44, The plain understanding of this is
- 42:26whenever we see Jesus and we go and lay everything down to
- 42:32follow after him, that is the plain understanding of this.
- 42:36But there is a deeper meaning. And he tells us that Jesus
- 42:45bought the entire world because he saw the treasure of the
- 42:51Israelites. Jesus came and shed his blood
- 42:57for the whole world because in a very peculiar fashion, friends,
- 43:04He is desirous of the Jews to place their faith in Him during
- 43:10the Tribulation. And that is what is going to
- 43:13happen. It is the jealousy that is
- 43:15provoked when they see us, the Gentiles, coming in, that the
- 43:20Jews will be provoked to put their faith in Jesus Christ. 45
- 43:26Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like unto A merchant man seeking
- 43:29goodly pearls. 46 who when he has found one Pearl of great
- 43:36price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
- 43:40So here we we have always understood this Pearl of great
- 43:44price as being Jesus, but it is actually the church.
- 43:49This is the persecution, this is the irritant that produces the
- 43:55polished Pearl. And the Pearl, when it is found,
- 44:01it does not get, it does not get cut like a precious stonewood.
- 44:06It is perfect. And that is what Jesus is after.
- 44:11And this is Jesus. He is the one who seeks, and He
- 44:16is seeking after the pure and heart friends, and they shall
- 44:20see God. And he bought it with his blood.
- 44:2547 Again the Kingdom of heaven is like unto a net that was cast
- 44:30into the sea, and it gathered every kind. 48 Which when it was
- 44:36full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good
- 44:42into vessels, but castaway the bad.
- 44:46Very simple. You can see that when the net
- 44:50was full there is a fullness. And Peter, Peter tells us in his
- 44:58epistles, he tells us that there is the fullness of those that
- 45:03will come in to the Kingdom of God and he is waiting for that
- 45:08time whenever the fullness happens.
- 45:11God is not slack, God's not dragging his feet.
- 45:17There are many who say that things just keep going as they
- 45:20have been since the beginning of time, but do not forget that
- 45:241000 years is like a day unto the Lord.
- 45:30He is not slack and there is a fullness and that is what is
- 45:33mentioned here. And He's dragging the net today.
- 45:36And you might say, come Lord, come there and not the the
- 45:39Spirit and the bride cry outcome and yes and Amen.
- 45:43We say come Lord, but he's dragging the net and He knows
- 45:48who truly belongs to Him. This is the separating of the
- 45:51sheep and the goats. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world
- 45:57that angels shall come forth and sever the wicked from among the
- 46:01just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire.
- 46:09There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
- 46:11He's mentioned that twice here. back-to-back.
- 46:14Bam bam. Hell is a literal real place
- 46:17that people are going to be banished to forever and ever and
- 46:21ever and ever. And there is no second chances
- 46:26once you take your last breath, there is no purgatory.
- 46:33There's no praying people out of hell.
- 46:35They have to make the decision now.
- 46:37If you have breath in your lungs, it's not too late.
- 46:40It should burden our hearts. It should break our hearts for
- 46:43those who are choosing hell. It is a real place, and there
- 46:51will be wailing and gnashing of teeth, and they will die a
- 46:55billion deaths over and never be able to die. 51 Jesus said unto
- 47:00them, How do you understand all these things?
- 47:03And they said unto him, Yes Lord, they are admitting
- 47:14something that they will be held responsible for.
- 47:17And you and I will be held responsible for having this word
- 47:21hidden in our hearts. We will be held responsible that
- 47:25we had access to the word of God.
- 47:27We had access to the testimony of Jesus Christ.
- 47:33We will be held responsible. Friends, 52 And then he said
- 47:38unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto
- 47:42the Kingdom of heaven, is like unto a man that is a
- 47:44householder, which brings forth out of his treasure things new
- 47:49and old. We cannot throw out the old,
- 47:52because we are desirous of the new.
- 47:56We cannot think that just because God is doing the new
- 48:01things that there is no value in the old.
- 48:05We need to know that we know that we know that we know that
- 48:09God reigns supreme from the Garden all the way to New
- 48:15Jerusalem. We need to know that the new
- 48:21only adds and supplements on to the old.
- 48:26The new does not get rid of the old.
- 48:29And Jesus said that. He said, I have not come to
- 48:32abolish the law, but to fulfill it.
- 48:35And that is what Jesus is telling the disciples here.
- 48:38He's saying that us who are called students of the word of
- 48:41God, we cannot just push down all the things of old.
- 48:48We must bring them about, and we must make them relevant to our
- 48:53day friends, and for the people that we are responsible for,
- 49:00that we have been entrusted to share the gospel with.
- 49:04Praise God. Hallelujah. 53 And it came to
- 49:08pass that when Jesus had finished these parables, he
- 49:12departed from there. 54 And when he was come into his own
- 49:19country, he taught them in their synagogue in so much that they
- 49:23were astonished, and said, Whence has this man and his
- 49:30wisdom and these mighty works? So they are astonished by Jesus.
- 49:36They're wanting to know how has this man so much authority?
- 49:41He speaks with so much authority.
- 49:44He doesn't ascribe all of his sayings to his teachers.
- 49:50He teaches as if he is the teacher of teachers.
- 49:54And if you remember Jesus as a 12 year old boy, and he went in
- 49:59to the temple and he was teaching them the things of
- 50:05eternity, He was teaching them things of antiquity.
- 50:09Jesus is the teacher of teachers. 55 Is not this the
- 50:18carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary?
- 50:21His brothers are James and Joseph's and Simon and Jews.
- 50:26You can see here that Mary was not perpetually a virgin.
- 50:31You can see here that Mary had natural children.
- 50:34You can see here we can completely break down the idea
- 50:40that we're supposed to pray through Mary.
- 50:42This is one of the verses that is plain that God makes sure we
- 50:46understand that. We also see in verse 55 how the
- 50:51people who were just astonished, they do the same.
- 50:55They we do the same things that they do.
- 50:58So as soon as the truth of God gets taught, we are taken aback
- 51:04by it. But then those that are falling
- 51:07in on where the bird came in and snatched the word, it's this
- 51:12idea right here. We receive it and then
- 51:16immediately we go and break it down.
- 51:19We go and discount it. We go and completely remove it
- 51:24because we have prejudiceness in our hearts. 56 And his sisters,
- 51:31are they not all with us? Whence then has this man all
- 51:37these things? So they're asking how does he
- 51:40have such authority whenever he's just a carpenter's son?
- 51:4757 And they were offended in him, but Jesus said unto them
- 51:52that a prophet is not without honor except in his own country
- 51:56and in his own house. So this they were offended in
- 51:59him. You remember a couple chapters
- 52:02back he said, blessed are those that are not offended by him,
- 52:07they're not offended by his humanity.
- 52:09They weren't offended unless that are the ones that aren't
- 52:12offended by the fact that he didn't do the miracles that they
- 52:16wanted him to do whenever they wanted him to do them.
- 52:20And they walked away because they weren't, that he was not
- 52:23the God that they had formed in their own minds, friends.
- 52:27And that is what it looks like when we're offended by Him.
- 52:31When we pray and we pray and we pray and the miracle doesn't
- 52:34come. When we pray and we pray and we
- 52:36pray and the Spouse doesn't come back.
- 52:38When we pray and we pray and we pray and the disease is still
- 52:41there. When we pray and we pray and we
- 52:43pray and you're still paralyzed. When we pray and we pray and we
- 52:48pray and we believe with all our hearts and the healing doesn't
- 52:51come and the breakthrough hasn't come and we're offended by them
- 52:55and we walk away. And here you can see how his own
- 53:02hometown, they rejected him because he was just a
- 53:05carpenter's son. They were offended that this boy
- 53:10that they had seen grow up into a young adult, into a teenager,
- 53:16how he claimed to be the son of God and they were offended by
- 53:19him. And let's not think, oh I would
- 53:22never because we have the final authority which brings much more
- 53:27responsibility upon you friend, because you can see Jesus as the
- 53:33true Son of God and they were on the ground.
- 53:38They were boots on the ground. They couldn't see over the trees
- 53:41yet like we can. We'll end on 58 and he did not
- 53:47many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
- 53:50Many times it's our unbelief, friends, that causes him not to
- 53:56do the miracle. In your life.
- 53:58There's unbelief. If you just have the faith of a
- 54:02mustard seed, friends, you can say to this mountain move and
- 54:05it'll move, you could say to the water part and it will part.
- 54:09In the name of Jesus, pray and watch the healing come.
- 54:13In the name of Jesus, pray and watch the breakthrough come,
- 54:16friends. It is the name above all names.
- 54:20That is the only name that has the ability to save.
- 54:26Bring that name upon your lips today.
- 54:28He is the Son of God. I hope you've been blessed by
- 54:32this chapter. I know I sure have.
- 54:34I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 54:40I love you, so does God. We'll see you back here
- 54:47tomorrow. God bless you.
