This entire military is 1 cohesive dedicated force and the
• 0:06
threats to our nations, they don't sleep.

They're watching our every move. Iran, Russia, China, North

Korea, ISIS, Al Qaeda, they may be watching this right now.
• 0:22
Our military should not be mistaken for our cable news
• 0:25
gadfest show. We don't care what you look
• 0:28
like. You don't care who you voted
• 0:30
for, who you worship, what you worship, who you love.
• 0:34
It doesn't matter if your dad left you millions when he died
• 0:37
or if you knew who your father was.
• 0:41
We have been honed into a machine of.
• 0:44
Lethal moving parts that you would be.
• 0:46
Wise to avoid if you know what's good for you.
• 0:49
We will not be intimidated. We will not back down.
• 0:56
We don't want war, but if you want war in the United States of
• 1:00
America, there's one thing I can promise you.
• 1:02
So help me God, someone else will raise your sons and
• 1:06
  daughters. Opinions expressed in this

You are now. All right, good afternoon or
• 2:33
good evening, depending where you're located at.
• 2:35
Welcome to Trench Talk US, the Ferran Dossier show edition of
• 2:39
the military talk show. Thank you for tuning, listening
• 2:42
today as always, we have a very spectacular important show for
• 2:48
you right here on Trench Talk Edition.
• 2:51
US here on Military broadcast Radio network giving veterans a
• 2:56
voice. So we appreciate them for
• 2:58
allowing veterans, first responders and their families to
• 3:01
come here and have a platform to share our life experience.
• 3:05
You know, I, I found this microphone here, you see, 14
• 3:12
years ago during my transition out of the military, for me, it
• 3:16
was very difficult. I got out not by choice.
• 3:20
I got it from a medical retirement, which most people
• 3:24
think would think like, hey, yeah, that's that's good.
• 3:26
  You got medically retired. Yeah.
• 3:27
But it wasn't on my terms. And so the how I can articulate
• 3:33
it to you today is the identity crisis and the depression and
• 3:37
the anxiety and all the stuff that came with that identity of
• 3:40
being in that uniform for 24 years.
• 3:44
  That's all I knew. That's all I knew for those 24
• 3:47
years. And before that identity was a
• 3:49
basketball player identity. So you can see how if you are
• 3:53
into sports or are athletes, police officers, a lot of us
• 3:58
deal with these transitions and these identity crisis.
• 4:01
But it's not just us, it's a human being flaw, right?
• 4:04
Most people, if we tell the truth, are dealing with some
• 4:07
kind of experience that we are trying to figure out how to
• 4:11
manage in our life. And so for me, it was that
• 4:14
soldier mentality, that mindset of being a soldier and, and it
• 4:18
was, like I said, difficult, but God has brought me through that.
• 4:21
14 years later, I'm still here. And this Trench Talk episode is
• 4:26
pretty much my personal therapy. Like I found a way to stay
• 4:29
connected to my veteran community as a service member.
• 4:34
And so I started interviewing soldiers from all different
• 4:36
walks of life, all different branches, all different ages.
• 4:41
As soon as you say you're a veteran and you served, it's
• 4:43
like, you know, it's like a brotherhood.
• 4:46
Well, not like, but it is a brotherhood, a brother's
• 4:48
sisterhood. So that connection is most is,
• 4:52
is as we're going to talk about today, the mindset, the vets
• 4:55
mindset. We're going to get into some of
• 4:57
this because I know I could speak from it.
• 5:00
I don't care. I'm not just talking about it,
• 5:01
but I can actually speak from it and my guest today as well.
• 5:05
So again, we thank you for tuning, listening in.
• 5:08
You can catch me here on MBR Wednesdays at 4:00 PM Pacific
• 5:13
Time. And you can catch me on the
• 5:15
Ferrand Dosier show, the Life Tour Sports Edition on KCA Radio
• 5:20
One O 6.5 FM, 1050 AM and the Inland Empire, also at
• 5:24
  kcaradio.com. That's Sunday nights at 8:00 PM.
• 5:28
Also, I have a show on used to be Dash radio, now it's called
• 5:32
Lit Live. You can catch me over there.
• 5:34
I have a Christian hip hop talk show called the Reference Radio
• 5:37
  Show. It's on channel GH3, God's House
• 5:40
of Hip Hop that airs Saturdays at 7:00 and Sundays at 5:00 PM.
• 5:47
But if you want more information about what I'm up to, easy, just
• 5:49
go to farand.com and you'll find all the stuff that I'm up to in
• 5:54
life. My spiritual journey as a youth
• 5:58
ministering, training, youth speaker in training.
• 6:00
I also speak at my church. So I speak at 2 churches twice a
• 6:05
month. That's ultimately one of my most
• 6:08
important conversations. And then of course, my sickle
• 6:11
cell trait. What you hear about that later,
• 6:13
if you want information about that, WDCO and sct.org.
• 6:17
All right, so with that, we are going to play our public service
• 6:21
  announcement and come right back.
• 6:23
I'm very excited today to have this guy as a guest today.
• 6:29
We go, we don't go way back, but we go back far enough, like not
• 6:33
4 flats on the Cadillac, but maybe 2 flats with a spare on
• 6:36
the right. So we go back a little bit of
• 6:38
ways in this broadcasting world as well.
• 6:41
So I'm I'm very excited to have him today to talk about these
• 6:46
these veterans conversations, but more so to to introduce him
• 6:50
to the listeners and and and see what he's up to in his journey
• 6:53
today. So again, thank you for tune
• 6:55
listening in. This is trench talk US.
• 6:58
I'm going to play these PSA and we'll come right back and get
• 7:00
right into the episode today. Thanks for tune listening in.
• 7:06
Some of us still carry the burden of battle.
• 7:09
It threatens to drown us in our everyday lives.
• 7:12
In battle, we had our weapons and combat gear to keep us safe,
• 7:16
to keep us confident, but when we returned home, we were not
• 7:20
armed with weapons and gear to cope with our own minds.
• 7:24
I was lucky to find my combat gear, my mental weapon and it's
• 7:28
called Kamago. Kamago is a drug free device
• 7:31
that allows you to achieve calm in less than 3 minutes and
• 7:35
moments of anxiety, stress, anger, panic or insomnia.
• 7:40
Not with medication, but rather by activating the
• 7:43
parasympathetic nervous system through breathing regulation and
• 7:46
multi sensory stimulation. A recent study has shown that
• 7:50
Comago decreases PTSD and anxiety levels in Veterans,
• 7:53
helping those who are suffering and having a long lasting
• 7:56
effect. Visit comago.com to learn how
• 7:59
you can get Comago through the VA or with a special Veterans
• 8:03
discount code. Hey, what's up man?
• 8:22
  How you doing? I'm.
• 8:23
Blessed my brother. I'm good, man, I'm good.
• 8:24
Hey, did you see the game last night?
• 8:26
I was your game. But did you see the shot?
• 8:28
I lost money from that. Oh man, that shot was.
• 8:31
Old man, but it was good. Yeah.
• 8:36
What's the name? You really want to know.
• 8:42
  I do. Exhaustion, muscle spasm,
• 8:49
Asthmatic issues, unexpected sickle cell tray Triton.
• 8:53
Are you serious? When I was young, I found out I
• 8:56
had sickle cell tray. My mom's told me, but I didn't
• 8:59
have no knowledge of it. But when I got older, I had a
• 9:01
child. The doctor told me my daughter
• 9:03
has sickle cell trait. You know, the fact that both
• 9:06
parents have sickle cell trait, there's a 50% chance the child
• 9:09
may have the trait and 25% chance the child may have the
• 9:12
disease. And that's what's the count.
• 9:14
Do you know that 2.5 million people in the United States have
• 9:16
sickle cell trait? 300 million people globally.
• 9:19
I didn't find out I had sickle cell trait until I was in the
• 9:21
Army 10 years. Next thing you know I had a
• 9:23
sickle cell trait exertion site. April SO.
• 9:26
I thought that was a black gene or something.
• 9:28
Nah man, the black community is number 21 out of 36,000 babies
• 9:32
are being born with sickle cell disease.
• 9:34
You could be Caucasian, Mediterranean, European.
• 9:36
You got really a bloodline man. There is an inherited gene in
• 9:42
our community that has been forgotten.
• 9:44
The name is sickle cell trait. WDCONSCT, also known as What's
• 9:49
the Count, is out to bring awareness, education and
• 9:52
prevention to people all over the globe.
• 9:55
Want more information? Call us now at 323-215-5384 or
• 10:01
visit www.wdconsct.org. All right, welcome back to the
• 10:15
Rondo's show, Trench Talk US edition again, again, thank you
• 10:20
for tuning, listening in again. So my guest today, like I said,
• 10:25
we I've been in the broadcasting world self probably mostly
• 10:29
self-taught since 2009 to 2010. I became an advocate out of my
• 10:34
depression and anxiety and my transition out of the military.
• 10:38
A friend of mine told me like, why don't you need to go do
• 10:40
something with yourself? And so he's like, you should do
• 10:42
like a sports show or something because back then I was a huge
• 10:46
sports fan. But for me during that
• 10:48
depression and suicide ideation, I lost interest in a lot of
• 10:51
  things. And sports was 1.
• 10:54
And so I found blog talk radio and jumped on that and and have
• 10:57
a sports show and that kind of kept me living to the future of
• 11:00
that show versus in the future of uncertainty.
• 11:03
And by maintaining that sanity with that talk show and
• 11:08
discovering that my sickle cell trade was with the cause of my
• 11:12
military career coming to an end and do my research, I found that
• 11:15
not just military personnel, but sickle cell trade had
• 11:18
complications. But athletes have died and
• 11:21
collapsed from sickle cell trade exertion with rotomyolysis.
• 11:24
So that connected me back to the sports world, but not from AI.
• 11:27
Want to check the highlights and watch the games per SE.
• 11:30
But it came to more of the mental toughness of sports,
• 11:33
right? Because I could relate to the
• 11:35
identity of an athlete, right? That's dealing with their whole
• 11:40
sports career, maybe never really dealing with the emotions
• 11:44
the when we talk about emotional intelligence these days, right?
• 11:47
So never really have an opportunity to deal with, you
• 11:50
know, grandma passing away or the divorce of their parents or
• 11:54
a parent passing away or whatever that is a loved one.
• 11:57
And you mostly never get a chance to deal with that because
• 12:00
you're so focused on, you know, playing this game or, or getting
• 12:03
to college or get into professional sports.
• 12:06
And so we see professional athletes when their career comes
• 12:09
to an end, sometimes they're lost.
• 12:11
We hear about all of that stuff, right?
• 12:13
And so as veterans, we know that one, every 65 minutes of
• 12:17
veteran, our brother and sister completes their life.
• 12:21
And So what is that right? And so I, I, I was there.
• 12:25
I know what that feels like. I know what it tastes like.
• 12:27
I know what it is to want to, to do that.
• 12:30
But then what interrupted that for me was the willingness to
• 12:34
try to figure out like, I know, like I know I have mental
• 12:38
toughness. I know I play basketball.
• 12:40
But that feeling of, of, of emotional distress I had never
• 12:44
felt before like that. And so if you look in life, as I
• 12:49
mentioned, veterans, you know, take their life, complete their
• 12:52
life, police officers. So what is it about the human
• 12:55
being that we're trying to figure out?
• 12:57
Why am I born? Why am I here?
• 13:00
Right? And God showed me that after
• 13:01
through all of that madness, that sickle cell trait gene was
• 13:06
what I was born to my mother's womb to deliver a message.
• 13:11
And I needed that military career, right?
• 13:13
That was part of the plan, but it wasn't my purpose of my life.
• 13:17
It got me to where I need to be today.
• 13:19
And I still use that mentality in my work.
• 13:22
And so when we talk about the veteran mindset and we talk
• 13:25
about what it is, you know, what's going on, it's not just
• 13:28
  veterans. That's that's we're still people
• 13:31
first, right? And so when we talk about these
• 13:34
conversations here on these platforms, it's really to help
• 13:37
share our stories, our testimonies, so that maybe
• 13:40
somebody out there who's listening, your heart can be
• 13:43
softened and to figure out why were you born?
• 13:46
What is your purpose, your passions, what do you care
• 13:48
about? And, and I share that with my
• 13:51
veteran community today. Don't lose yourself.
• 13:53
I lost myself in that rank, in that camouflage.
• 13:56
I didn't know who Ferron was until I had to go through those
• 14:00
those episodes. And some, unfortunately, some
• 14:04
people don't make it through that.
• 14:05
Some people never discover why they're here.
• 14:07
But we can have those conversations.
• 14:09
So my guest today, my, my, my, my context for this conversation
• 14:14
is life before, during and after military service, Right.
• 14:18
And so my guy here is going to share what he's up to in life
• 14:22
  before, during and after service.
• 14:25
  You ready, Sir? Oh.
• 14:27
Man, well, that well, that's somebody that I'm ready.
• 14:30
I was born ready. I was born October 21st.
• 14:35
  I'm ready. I'm ready.
• 14:36
How you doing? Man, you know Farooq man, let me
• 14:39
tell you people out there who will know me and his buddy met
• 14:42
at La Live, I think it was 2000 about like 12 man.
• 14:47
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Doing doing Cinco de Mayo
• 14:51
because we were doing Cinco de Mayo, our first show ever.
• 14:53
Me and oh boy, you know Van Eric Marshall and and yeah, it was
• 14:59
Cinco de Mayo and we had we had the vets today live and we out
• 15:03
there helping the vets. Yes, I was a a vet for a stench.
• 15:06
I was 13B. I mean, you know, injury kind of
• 15:11
prone the flat feet, right knee and yeah, it it does the boot
• 15:17
camp for Leonard Wood it it. For living in the.
• 15:20
Woods living in the woods exactly I'm a country boy by
• 15:23
heart by raising raising you know in in California, you know
• 15:27
raising the country. I thought I was born here and a
• 15:30
phenomenal story. Have a book out, and for those
• 15:33
who don't know who I am, my name is DeAndre Adams AKA Big Dre.
• 15:38
Future City, California Crossman District 8, Los Angeles.
• 15:41
I'm going to win. It working that out.
• 15:44
Working that out and when when Farooq called me and said, man,
• 15:47
I got these these concepts, these shows, that's all you have
• 15:50
to say. One time, you know, I was in
• 15:52
right away. I wasn't question no time.
• 15:55
I hear, I hear all my idols, Joe Rogan, you know, you know, Dan
• 16:00
Patrick, even Stephen F man, I love Stephen because he's just
• 16:03
straight to the point, you know, right, right, right.
• 16:04
And and you know, of course, Shannon Sharpe and all the all
• 16:07
the good ones and my main man, shack and shack don't let it
• 16:10
happen. And I'm not here to to throw no,
• 16:12
no flag on on nobody's on coffins and not not there yet,
• 16:16
But it's a lot of lame ones out there too.
• 16:17
I'm not going to say your. Name but Big Dre.
• 16:20
Big Dre, we was doing this when it wasn't even done like this,
• 16:26
  man. All day.
• 16:27
They talk live. We had cameras, it was
• 16:31
  streaming. Yes stream.
• 16:33
Yes, it. Was Apple Play we had.
• 16:35
Live 365 We was. Playing music, music, everything
• 16:38
before all of this, before the storm, everything you know, and
• 16:43
to see what, what you have been through.
• 16:45
Like you said, wearing that camouflage takes it out of you,
• 16:49
you know, and it, it brings you they, they, they, they destroy
• 16:52
your, your soul and bring it back out of the ashes as a
• 16:55
phoenix. But then sometimes people don't
• 16:57
come out to them ashes. They stay stuck in the ass.
• 17:00
And unfortunately I got lucky and got injured got out, you
• 17:04
know, with the guy said you guys, I got something different
• 17:06
for you. He healed the right, the right
• 17:08
leg, the left leg went bad with the play ball.
• 17:12
Baseball have a baseball player. I, I left California as an all
• 17:16
American in my going to a sophomore year baseball.
• 17:19
But then I was a heavy basketball player.
• 17:22
But. Hold on, let's just save it.
• 17:24
We go, we go. I'm a guide this I'm a guide you
• 17:26
I'm a guide. We going, we going guide the
• 17:27
conversation, man. Again, thank you for those who
• 17:30
are listening and we appreciate you.
• 17:34
We got a couple of comments over here.
• 17:35
We got Nelson little TV. You know who that is?
• 17:39
Grand Rising. Grand rides, you know, it may be
• 17:42
somebody I know by the way, I said grand rides, you know,
• 17:45
grand rides is always good because, you know, I just say a
• 17:47
God's day. Me and the mistress say God's
• 17:49
day. We don't try to put it on on
• 17:52
that good morning. Good morning has a different
• 17:53
meanings, but we said God's day without God's day is no day.
• 17:58
So that's how I look at things. Let's go.
• 18:00
We're going to go back in time. Life before service.
• 18:02
So who is Little Dre growing up? Let's go to Little Dre first.
• 18:08
Well, see, little Dre is a kid that was the youngest 13 people
• 18:13
in the household. We was a we was a black pretty
• 18:16
buzz twice. Y'all had all the squares.
• 18:20
Yeah, all the squares. We had those squares a little
• 18:22
bit. And the housekeeper, yeah, the
• 18:23
housekeeper name was Thelma Adams, restless old my mom and,
• 18:27
and, and, and Curtis Adams, my restless old, my dad.
• 18:31
That was that was a housekeeper that was back and forth.
• 18:33
You know, we we did our part being my sisters in my brothers
• 18:36
place. I was story about me.
• 18:39
I was born stillborn, I died at birth.
• 18:42
My mother died giving birth to me and I, we both came back 22
• 18:47
  minutes after one another. What?
• 18:50
This is the most emotional story that whoever listeners right now
• 18:54
may have a healing heart behind this.
• 18:56
My mother gave birth to me. I was like a miracle child #13
• 19:01
after her body's been to so much like 12 kids #13 comes like,
• 19:05
oops, we have one more. And she knew I was going to be
• 19:10
that special kid. She just knew.
• 19:12
She said she knew it because when I died, I was stillborn,
• 19:15
stopped breathing. I was that the blue black baby.
• 19:18
I caught her and and I, I sat my mom bosom for for 27 total
• 19:23
minutes. The first four, she sat there,
• 19:26
looked at me and said, I don't think he's breathing.
• 19:27
They can say, oh, he's breathing, He's fine.
• 19:29
And the nurse said he's not breathing.
• 19:30
And then there it was, I left this this world for 22 minutes
• 19:36
and God took me and said, OK, I'm going to look down.
• 19:40
I'm going to look down. We going to look down together.
• 19:43
As a young child going up into a man, he took my whole life from
• 19:48
a baby to where I was going to be at, where I'm at now.
• 19:50
All the trials, tribulations, the things I've been through,
• 19:53
the hurt, the pain, asthma, found out sickle cell trait, my
• 19:58
family, my one, my middle boy. And shout out to all three of my
• 20:02
sons. You know, you know Michael, you
• 20:05
know Roderick and and Trevor and and the fourth son I, I found
• 20:09
out I had while I was on the show live on LA Talk.
• 20:12
Yeah, yeah. We're on the show and someone
• 20:14
caller calls in and say it was about Debbie Daddies and
• 20:17
military. And here comes this call.
• 20:20
My, my, my, my manager. Excuse me.
• 20:22
My manager said this woman said she know you.
• 20:24
I'm like, what? So at the commercial break, I go
• 20:27
into office. I said, how old is my son?
• 20:30
I knew. By the way, you know what?
• 20:33
I had a son I never knew about. She grew up.
• 20:36
  Oh. My goodness.
• 20:38
I'm a wall player so this is all in this dream as a kid that guy
• 20:43
was sitting to me telling me what I was going to go through
• 20:45
all my never showed the tribulation but he knew I was
• 20:47
going to hit these humps in my life.
• 20:48
  Yes, yes. And everything.
• 20:49
So then, then as God said, Are you ready to go back and start
• 20:56
  your journey? And boom.
• 20:59
So they never touched me. My father said don't touch it,
• 21:01
don't touch it. Don't touch her, touch her.
• 21:03
All of a sudden, yeah, we're in the garden.
• 21:06
I start tell that. We can tell that we can hear in
• 21:07
the background tell that we can hear.
• 21:11
And I, I got kept saying, who in the heck let the dog out?
• 21:16
And I said to myself, who did that and what happened?
• 21:20
I'm sorry folks, he was on a goodness call.
• 21:22
It's OK. And because we had an office of
• 21:24
Regency in LA, we have a couple of office of Regencies, but we
• 21:27
said, hey, let's do something different and I'm going to let
• 21:32
you come back. And I figured I was your Mama.
• 21:35
So as I come back, my mom stopped breathing.
• 21:38
Wow. So while I'm coming out her
• 21:41
heartbeat ready to slow him down, she goes and her testimony
• 21:45
in church before she God took her as a grown woman back into
• 21:50
childhood the opposite way. And she says this is the element
• 21:55
of life and my clothing line. I'm talking to my boy Derek 2
• 21:58
Tones, who does all my clothing line stuff.
• 22:00
Derek, I know you're watching who does all my clothing for me.
• 22:03
A hell of a printer. IT tech guy by trade.
• 22:08
All my all my sweats I have It's a lion's den.
• 22:11
It's big Drake 45 collection and that 45 stands for elements of
• 22:15
  life. It's the four.
• 22:16
It's the four quarter from the earth 4.
• 22:19
The five is the 5th element of the thing you deal with life.
• 22:22
Number one is birth number 2-3 and four, what you make a life
• 22:26
and #5IS death what your judge. So that's, that's how I came
• 22:31
with that type. That's how I came with that.
• 22:33
So people kept saying that me and Vin Egg was laughed about
• 22:36
this man. You're going to be 45 victims,
• 22:37
45 victims. And what happened when President
• 22:42
Trump came? He was a 45th president.
• 22:44
Yeah, he was. I said to myself, the elements
• 22:48
of life, so you can say what you want to say about the man.
• 22:51
I'm in between that he he, he said he right now it's it's up
• 22:55
to God. What's God control his country
• 22:57
and let me do it, that man. Thank you.
• 22:59
Thank you for saying that. Thank you for saying.
• 23:01
I'm not. I don't say he good or he's bad
• 23:03
or he ugly. It's up to us as individual
• 23:06
people understand what's really going on.
• 23:08
So that's what little Dre was raised on in the church, in the
• 23:11
church, in the. Church so we can we go spiritual
• 23:13
later on, We go to the spiritual later on.
• 23:16
So that's what happened. So as I grew older, I knew the
• 23:19
testimony. I watched my mother, I put me in
• 23:21
church on the spot. This is my testimony baby right
• 23:23
here called me testimony baby, not the testimony baby.
• 23:29
So it was crazy. So I went through all elements
• 23:32
and dealing with asthma Austin still playing swimming running.
• 23:36
She said how could a boy had admin run like this?
• 23:38
I'm running the speed and I had lightning speed and and and
• 23:41
baseball just came natural and I started to my boy Fred Berry
• 23:44
Berry the the late Fred Berry court we run.
• 23:46
We all know of his brother Matthew Berry discovered me
• 23:49
playing baseball and no you discovered me.
• 23:52
I'm going to back up my fins in my on my yard and Pomona
• 23:55
throwing walnuts and cars going by.
• 23:57
Oh. You used to do that too, yes.
• 24:00
We threw rocks though walnut. Water and hit his wife through
• 24:08
the window in the van and he banged up.
• 24:11
I ran I had all the green smut wallet on my my white T-shirt.
• 24:15
My father said the man say, hey, he's kids throwing around hit my
• 24:18
wife on the side of faith and my I'm in, I'm sleeping Bob.
• 24:22
It's like during the afternoon. My father, yeah, sleeping in the
• 24:24
three in the afternoon. Bring a little narrow butt out
• 24:26
here. I go out there and I said, Oh my
• 24:28
God, I see the making bacon on the side of his van, 2 little
• 24:31
pigs having sex. And I said, Oh my God, this is
• 24:33
crazy. And come to find out, he I never
• 24:37
knew he was Matthew Berry, the older brother of Fred Berry from
• 24:39
What's Happening. And yeah, and the lockers and
• 24:43
stuff. So it was like, I have a
• 24:45
baseball team. He throw that because he must be
• 24:46
on the throat. How's your how's your wife
• 24:49
  doing? Yeah, she's all right.
• 24:50
She had a mark. So I had to work for them for
• 24:52
  six months. Are you serious?
• 24:55
All they trashed out and they had kids.
• 24:57
His son was Steven Williams, my friend and their daughter, it
• 25:00
was Kerry. And she said you're hit by a
• 25:02
Mama, we're going to beat you up.
• 25:03
And they they, they beat you. I can beat up first and not do
• 25:06
the do the chores. I got to be referred to the
• 25:10
insurance. Let me, let me let.
• 25:12
Me ask you this my my first one of my first main segments is
• 25:17
life of a 5 year old, right? And this is dedicated to my dad.
• 25:21
My dad passed in 2019. But what I discovered at 40
• 25:25
years old in my transition of coming out of that mental,
• 25:27
mental health and stuff, is that I had made a story that my dad
• 25:31
  didn't love me, right? OK.
• 25:34
And so for not, not everyone, but for some of us, you know,
• 25:38
the world says you, you got daddy issues, you got Mama
• 25:40
issues, right? How, how was, how would you say
• 25:43
your relationship with what was with your dad?
• 25:45
How was that growing up for you? My father, my father was really
• 25:51
not my hero. He's always working.
• 25:53
He's a truck driver, always in a row.
• 25:55
My, my hero was my godfather, you know, resting.
• 25:58
So Pat, no, Pat Patterson, he told me, he showed me how to cut
• 26:02
grass, heads grass, do the garden stuff.
• 26:05
He showed me how to do all that stuff.
• 26:07
But it was one exercise he made me do.
• 26:09
He made me change my whole life. He said close your eyes and
• 26:12
you're going to cut this whole front yard with your eyes
• 26:14
closed. Now you know, UK see these,
• 26:18
these people who can, who are blind can see better than Ray
• 26:20
Charles and Stevie Wonder people, Julio Fusciano, all the
• 26:23
people that could do that stuff blind and walking without people
• 26:26
holding them. I said that'd be a PC cake man.
• 26:29
I got to do cut neck. It was a big giant maze circle
• 26:33
all the place, I said. He said, see, now what's this
• 26:38
whole exercise? What was the exercise all about?
• 26:41
No, Godfather, he said, to show you that mental health, it is
• 26:46
very important in this world. He he is World War One vet and a
• 26:49
part of children. So he said mental health is very
• 26:54
important. If you don't guide the right guy
• 26:55
except for your life's understanding and things around
• 26:58
  you will kill you. Wow.
• 27:01
And he, yeah, it was deep. And he told me, I said, I said,
• 27:04
So when the grass grew back, he cut the grass.
• 27:07
Let me see your old butt. Cut the grass down blindfolded.
• 27:10
He cut that grass so sharp. For real, I have never seen
• 27:14
anybody cutting grass that didn't miss an inch.
• 27:17
Blindfolded. Blindfolded, the whole line, the
• 27:20
huge line. I said I was being, I was being
• 27:23
punked before asking Christian born, you know, you know, I'm
• 27:27
looking around like who in the Bush is going to jump out a big
• 27:29
old giant 400 LB camera back in their age 70s.
• 27:33
So I said to myself, but my dad would be on the road.
• 27:36
He would call me and say I'm bringing something back from
• 27:39
Texas and he'll be like this. He'll bring this big old giant
• 27:43
bag of prunes back. Little sour prunes.
• 27:46
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Make sure you go to the
• 27:48
bathroom. Oh, Oh yeah, big time.
• 27:49
So I get pruned and he say I was sucking up by 20-30 minutes and
• 27:53
then you're all sour and I was getting my sister to something.
• 27:55
And that was my my, my time with him.
• 27:57
He had a sick and sick GTO mint edition until he died in 2020.
• 28:02
That same brand, same red color, the Chrome, everything original,
• 28:06
never long. And of course my mom passed 2014
• 28:09
and he never remarried. And the, the, the witch, the
• 28:12
little witch from you know, who came and got everything and
• 28:15
didn't never give us our our family and stuff back, but
• 28:18
crazy. But yeah, you got I I, I felt my
• 28:21
father loved me for years after that.
• 28:24
I see it now. Let me ask you, looking back as
• 28:27
an adult and, and him being the truck driver and driving, you
• 28:32
know, to make a living to provide for his family, did did
• 28:35
you, did you see that differently?
• 28:36
Like man, like he was driven to be a provider or what?
• 28:39
How did you, how did you find peace with that?
• 28:41
Because you know, doing. That for a reason, right?
• 28:43
  Yeah, he was. He was.
• 28:44
My father was a great provider. He he never, never cursed.
• 28:47
I mean, if he did on him of God, no, My father would slam his
• 28:51
hand. He says people tend to biscuits.
• 28:52
I mean, he would say if he slam his head with a nail, he would
• 28:56
never. I said come on, or you could do
• 28:57
  it. Taste so bad ass.
• 29:00
He would not never do it. He would do it.
• 29:02
He went mother bean of biscuits. I said that was a bean of
• 29:05
biscuit, Dad. I said you can do it and he just
• 29:08
never did it. So one day I said I'm going to
• 29:10
never cuss from my dad. That's great.
• 29:11
Until I had a log and I was logging in Mississippi, hit my
• 29:15
thumb right here and lost his nail.
• 29:17
I said some words. I don't know if if Prince would
• 29:21
understand he would say that's the nastiest song ever written.
• 29:24
My mother up. You said him a bit.
• 29:26
I was using words. I didn't even cuss word you.
• 29:28
We haven't infinite yet in America.
• 29:30
It was so much pain in my thumb. So I knew my dad was something
• 29:34
special with just a quiet Sagittarius man October,
• 29:37
October, October 9th, I'm going to talk December 9th and sister,
• 29:41
he's real quiet but humble. My Mama vocal.
• 29:44
Yeah, we're going to get to moms in a second.
• 29:47
Oh, yeah. But that's what it was, just my
• 29:49
father. I didn't love him as much as I
• 29:51
thought I did until I lost him. See.
• 29:54
You know. And that's what we, that's why
• 29:55
we have these talks, because we don't want people to.
• 29:58
I mean, our stories are going to be what they are.
• 30:01
You've got one, Mama. You got 11, Daddy.
• 30:03
We can recognize that before that person passes, so you don't
• 30:07
have to for those who get stuck with that resentment and regret
• 30:10
sometimes I was so grateful that I here with my dad and I had
• 30:14
eight years with him before he passed exactly right and so.
• 30:18
My, my my father hit his Elm. Excuse me.
• 30:20
He hit the helmet. A peg.
• 30:21
  Grant. He had cash.
• 30:23
He died of cash. Answer picked that he hit it for
• 30:26
some reason, I said. And a new wife came into town.
• 30:29
  Well, your father's perfectly fine.
• 30:30
  I said. You sure?
• 30:31
And I was on the road still bodyguarding.
• 30:34
And my father was very always, you know, a dangerous son.
• 30:37
You won't get killed. Take a bull of this, right.
• 30:39
You know, my mother's always my hero.
• 30:41
She's always my biggest fan. My dad, No.
• 30:44
So I think he never came to my baseball games, never came to
• 30:48
the basketball game. And the both times he came
• 30:50
through, I got injured. Both of us don't come up, don't
• 30:54
come every don't come. Yeah, so but but but I loved
• 31:00
  them. I went back home.
• 31:02
Of course, dad, I said one thing you did teach me safety is a is
• 31:07
a is a virtue for me being safe. So I teach that my and my
• 31:10
grandkids, sons and daughters, and I teach that my son for sure
• 31:14
my girl too. I'm I'm a safety holic.
• 31:16
  I. Think I'm with you on that one.
• 31:18
My my dad told us how to drive. Taught me how to drive where
• 31:21
like you're saying, he taught me how to to see the bumper, front
• 31:26
bumper while I'm in the driver's seat.
• 31:27
You got to be able to know what that for the front bumper is the
• 31:30
rear bumper, the side so and that mental health that's.
• 31:35
That's yeah, yeah. Visualize that bumper.
• 31:38
Mental is deep. That's why the military is.
• 31:40
So it's so critical to that because if you're going to be
• 31:43
handling $40 million equipment like no, you know, you got
• 31:47
those, you got those, you know you got those Prowlers, you got
• 31:50
those, you got the Cobras, you got the Apaches, many probably
• 31:54
you get on trust you with a $50 million plane air.
• 31:57
You can't use the mental capacity of it, of fighting on a
• 31:59
  person. My.
• 32:00
Property book was $6 million, so I was a surprise, Sergeant, so
• 32:03
you know, yeah. You know and you know, and at
• 32:06
1.2 million that missing they come looking for.
• 32:09
They're looking for me. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 32:11
  Staff first, first class Astoria.
• 32:13
Where's he at? He went to the He went to the
• 32:15
bathroom. He'd been going 11 days now he.
• 32:18
Last last piece about your dad. If you had to think of a song,
• 32:22
what's the first song that comes to mind about your father?
• 32:24
It's a gospel song. My father, my father great
• 32:27
singer. It was called I'm working on the
• 32:30
building. I'm working on to build a true
• 32:32
foundation. My father, my father favorite
• 32:35
song every time a sudden they go, I pass that we hear
• 32:37
international Curtis Adam. He had to sing that favorite
• 32:41
song, work on the building, and we had a list.
• 32:43
So we get home and spend in a in a station where we had a Brady
• 32:45
  Bunch station wagon. Same color.
• 32:47
  Brady Oh my goodness. Nothing.
• 32:48
We roll. We rolled down the street.
• 32:49
We started saying we work, you know.
• 32:51
But he said you work or you go work on the shores, you know?
• 32:53
So we had to come to chores and do it.
• 32:57
So that's what it was, man. But that's what I remember
• 33:00
  mostly. I've seen that song.
• 33:01
That's all the time at church. Thank you.
• 33:03
Thank you for sharing that about your dad.
• 33:05

• 35:40
Again, thank you for tuning, listening in.
• 35:42
I hope you are enjoying the conversation so far.
• 35:44
That first part of that episode is very important to me.
• 35:47
We teach or I teach, especially around reconciliation and
• 35:51
forgiveness. When my dad, you know, passed
• 35:55
away, I was so grateful that we had reconciled our relationship
• 35:58
because I know that if I had not today, I probably would be in
• 36:03
some little hole in the corner somewhere because of all the
• 36:06
stuff that I thought that he didn't care or love me or, or
• 36:09
was there for me. But it wasn't until I was 40
• 36:11
years old that I realized for 35 years that I thought, I thought
• 36:15
my dad didn't love me, but he did.
• 36:17
And when I went to him, see, I didn't wait for my dad to come
• 36:20
to me. Some people wait for people to
• 36:22
come to them for forgiveness. No, I went to my dad and said,
• 36:25
hey, thank you for just teaching me how to color and to walk and
• 36:29
to take me to these places. And then I told my medical story
• 36:32
about him that I discovered that wasn't the truth.
• 36:34
It was my truth, but it wasn't the truth.
• 36:37
And all my dad say was, I just want to spend time with you.
• 36:40
You're my son. So it never even affected him.
• 36:43
I was the one carrying that weight.
• 36:45
I was the one carrying that, that lack of or what I thought
• 36:48
he didn't. And so we teach that because
• 36:50
it's biblical, you know, we talk about honoring your father and
• 36:53
mother. Yes, you're not going to love or
• 36:55
like your mom or dad everyday. That's not realistic.
• 36:59
But the honor is how you think about them in your heart.
• 37:02
And that's why it's so important to honor your father and mother
• 37:05
because it's how we think about them is most important.
• 37:08
And no one walks around and says, oh, I don't love my mom, I
• 37:11
don't love my dad. Well, I would say I love them,
• 37:13
but they get on my nerve. And so I actually went to work
• 37:16
around why that I felt that they got on my nerve.
• 37:19
So that part of that segment is so important because as we look
• 37:23
and today's society, our children, our children are
• 37:26
that's not next generation. And, and how do we keep those
• 37:29
children attached to us, connected to us because the
• 37:33
sense of belonging is so important.
• 37:35
That's what we look for as human beings.
• 37:37
We want to belong. That is the most important
• 37:39
thing. But sometimes with our parents,
• 37:42
who are the two most important people of our life, that there's
• 37:45
a fracture or a wound or disappointment or whatever that
• 37:48
is. And sometimes we don't have, we
• 37:51
don't know what it is to be in a daughter as a child.
• 37:52
So we make up these stories. The brain makes up these stories
• 37:55
to fill in. And then now we walk around
• 37:58
with, they don't care about me or I was abandoned and it might
• 38:01
not be the truth. So that is very important for
• 38:04
me. One of my main conversations
• 38:06
outside of my sickle cell trade talks.
• 38:08
So thank you for listening to me for that piece.
• 38:10
Let's bring them back, man. Man, oh man, I, I hear it man,
• 38:16
and and and it's so wonderful you talk about that because I
• 38:19
was AI was a mama's boy being a young man got away with a lot of
• 38:23
stuff, man, throwing rocks, breaking windows out of cars,
• 38:26
but but never never really sold no drugs.
• 38:30
But I I practiced an an occasional practicing occasional
• 38:35
fraction of of being around the neighborhood.
• 38:38
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. No one can cast that first stone
• 38:41
that, you bad guy. Nobody can cast that stone that.
• 38:43
You that's why I had my my boy make the necklace for me from
• 38:46
  Goodwood. It's a peace sign.
• 38:48
It's had a peace out there. You know what I mean?
• 38:49
The boy Goodwood So a boy dare the Goodwood maybe a peace sign
• 38:53
hand necklace. But yeah, and and like you said
• 38:56
about sickle cell is a, is a, is a just so I call it the the
• 39:04
misunderstandable disease that I consider a situation that people
• 39:10
  think it's a black disease. It's not it's not something it's
• 39:12
a black disease, whatever it is that you deal with and sickle
• 39:16
cell trait and people, it's a good chance for people who who
• 39:19
are born can get the whole entire disease.
• 39:22
T Bods is a prime example from TLC.
• 39:25
And I have a grandson autistic. So I know autism is very, very
• 39:29
painful. My, my good friend Tony Braxton
• 39:34
have a son and the son of my boy Riley Pete and his wife, you
• 39:37
know, have a son autistic and I kind of think a couple of celebs
• 39:43
I know had sons who had, you know, had sickle cell and they
• 39:46
deal with that. My sister Darlene had sickle
• 39:48
cell and she had lupus and she. Passed.
• 39:50
That's what I was about to say. You and I was.
• 39:52
When we first met, we were talking about sickle cell lupus.
• 39:54
Back then, yeah. So lupus advocate.
• 39:57
Yeah, as you know, and it's to see people who died of lupus,
• 40:00
you ask yourself, juice, it's what we it's what we trained to
• 40:02
put in our mouths. Now, a doctor told me you want
• 40:05
to lose 6070 lbs or you're going to die.
• 40:07
  And I'm 64. I'm three.
• 40:08
I'm three. I'm not saying my weight.
• 40:10
  I'm 64357 and I lost. 8 lbs because I've been doing a a
• 40:15
cleanse called it's with turmeric, lemon juice, pepper
• 40:19
the last 14 days. Now me and the message said we
• 40:22
got to live. We're going to love each other
• 40:23
and marry each other. We got to live together as one
• 40:25
with the healthiness of putting things out mouth to me each
• 40:27
other for sure. And we as black people.
• 40:30
I have some of my my my wonderful black white friends I
• 40:33
love so much. One named Kevin Indigo Copeland
• 40:37
is a good friend of mine. He's the blackest white guy,
• 40:41
like he's my brother. And a movie coming out called
• 40:44
Black Creek, He's the first, the first movie that has Indian
• 40:49
slash martial arts. The legendary grandmaster
• 40:53
Cynthia Rock. Rock is the star.
• 40:55
Yeah. And he's in the movie.
• 40:56
He plays Indian on black foot like myself.
• 40:59
And he has, I know he has some. He's a former vet army, too.
• 41:02
You know, you deal with stuff, You know, you deal with a lot of
• 41:05
He's on the show back in the day.
• 41:06
You do a lot of things that that we try to figure out why and if
• 41:10
my mother my mother played a big part and I I went in in military
• 41:15
invested because I dared my cousin.
• 41:17
My cousin was just getting in trouble all the time from in
• 41:19
Mississippi. So I said I'm going to National
• 41:21
Guard. My uncle said no, I'll be a real
• 41:23
  man. We'll go service country.
• 41:25
I said, you know, I didn't want to, I didn't want to hear.
• 41:27
I didn't want to hear that one because him being a Vietnam vet,
• 41:31
he's the first Rain Ranger. No, no wonder he said that.
• 41:34
Yeah, I said come on man. And I have uncle now who I deal
• 41:37
with all the times a lot. He ever let me get his benefits.
• 41:41
He had to be applied for him. He said, you know what, he's
• 41:43
back in the Agent Orange era. He refused to go.
• 41:46
He's 73 years old. I said all the back pay you get
• 41:48
right now man, right? Now, yes.
• 41:50
I said he said he didn't want to do.
• 41:52
He said I just want to. I said it's just too much.
• 41:54
I said I'm going to live with you to help you get started.
• 41:56
No, tell him we have people that will help.
• 41:58
Him, yeah. And get all that money and you
• 42:01
got, you got the son and daughter.
• 42:03
One of his, one of his sons is murdered and my cousin murdered.
• 42:05
And this is my first. My father, he was brothers.
• 42:08
It's it was I had three aunties. I had two twins, Maisie and
• 42:12
Daisy. My aunt Daisy's gone Maisie,
• 42:14
Juanita and Brendan sell alive and they was all American
• 42:17
basketball players. My my twin, my twin aunties was
• 42:20
Maisie and my oldest was oldest sister.
• 42:23
Auntie Juanita was a automatic basketball at Alcorn State.
• 42:28
So and the the traits in our family come from heart disease,
• 42:33
liver, yeah, diabetes, but and then in the country Mississippi
• 42:39
  hardcore hog, shitless everything but.
• 42:41
You know, you know, it's funny you talk about that because
• 42:43
after I got back in church about five years ago, man, and, and
• 42:47
you look at, you know, you the, the work is in the soul.
• 42:51
The work is in the mind, the will and emotions, right?
• 42:54
And I started thinking about that.
• 42:56
They say, Oh, we, we had soul food back in the day, right.
• 43:00
But when I, when I, when I filter that soul food through
• 43:03
the biblical context, it's like that ain't that ain't good then.
• 43:07
Well, no wonder we got cholesterol and diabetes because
• 43:09
you talk about if you feed the soul, the soul is not that's not
• 43:13
good for the soul. No wonder.
• 43:15
It's like it just, it just kind of made sense to me that way.
• 43:18
It was like, wow. Yeah, it makes no sense at all.
• 43:21
It makes no sense at all because I call it I think soul food was
• 43:25
was was with death food back in. The in the.
• 43:29
  Day exactly. A pig's butt.
• 43:33
You try that soul food. No, man.
• 43:35
We call it gutter. That's that's trench.
• 43:37
That's trench food. But but here we are today trying
• 43:42
to break that, that habit, you know, break those habits because
• 43:46
that's what's been passed down to us for holiday meals and
• 43:49
Thanksgiving and all these. That's true.
• 43:51
That's true. Now you say the way the quality
• 43:53
of food is, but before we go, right before your military
• 43:57
  experience, you was just athlete.
• 44:00
Yes. So where do you equate your
• 44:04
mental toughness from? Was it from the environment or
• 44:07
from the sports or? Well, the environment where I
• 44:10
grew up at and also the, the, the military after that, after
• 44:15
that, the small stitch I had for the injury made me realize that
• 44:18
you can be whatever you want to be when you want to be.
• 44:21
So, you know, I think a lot of times these people who complain
• 44:25
about this complain about that, you know, and I just say bring
• 44:29
back the draft. You get to the young people who
• 44:31
want to fight so much. Put your little butt, put a put
• 44:34
a put a AR15 or something of your hand at your F16 that you
• 44:37
do what you want to do and see how you have yourself when
• 44:40
you're shooting a gun like this running.
• 44:44
In the movies, in the movie style.
• 44:46
Movie style, it's not real. It's not real I said guys all
• 44:49
you're getting shot by a real enemy who wants to kill you.
• 44:52
You make you make your whole soul changes.
• 44:55
And that's why I tell people my because my my fiance over here,
• 45:00
she's over there because I love you.
• 45:02
  She's a a Barber bought short trade 18 years, but a truck
• 45:07
driver almost well, Barber 20 years and then a truck driver
• 45:10
  1855 foot nothing but thinks he's 6/1.
• 45:14
And she's my mental toughness because what she went through
• 45:18
her her chain of command got her hosted early because she just
• 45:22
said she couldn't take the military commander authority.
• 45:25
And sometimes people just tell you you can't be barking at me
• 45:27
like you lost your mind. And that's how I felt.
• 45:30
You know, I'm like, man, who do you think you're talking?
• 45:32
Boy? I don't have me that thought
• 45:34
about her, my uncle said. Boy, if you give up, we're not
• 45:36
going to ever talk to you again. Oh my goodness.
• 45:39
In the back of my mind and I ended up injured and hurt and
• 45:42
got discharged and I was hurt. Just couldn't do it at the flat
• 45:45
  feet. She said it.
• 45:46
I snuck by him because my grandmother rested so made me
• 45:50
walk on rocks all the time. I walked through these rocks,
• 45:54
which it was making my Archie do everything.
• 45:56
So doctor, he said, you think you run these?
• 45:58
I was I was doing it. You know the boot camp, and it's
• 46:01
like, do you? And that's that Blackfoot
• 46:03
Indian, that tough one. You gave up.
• 46:06
But but now I'm the biggest wussy in the world.
• 46:08
I I get it, my nail hang. Now I'm about to pass out.
• 46:13
You know what I'm like? I couldn't do it no more.
• 46:15
But my mother was my was my Roadrunner.
• 46:18
Yeah, no doubt. A a beast my mom was like she
• 46:21
will fight anybody anytime. Well I found out my great great
• 46:25
great granddad was a sole partner of Nat Turner that bears
• 46:31
against slavery. Her, her grandfather, her
• 46:34
grandfather and my great, great, great grandfather was Nat Turner
• 46:37
sidekick pretty much. He said if you die, we all going
• 46:41
to die. He, he, he didn't take it.
• 46:43
Nothing from the nothing from the, nothing from the, from the,
• 46:46
the white man. And they, they just felt if you
• 46:48
going to hang me, I'm going to hang you.
• 46:50
All that good stuff. So everything is good and it was
• 46:53
great. So God's been good when it comes
• 46:55
to that, that, that stuff I was dealing with going through that.
• 46:59
So the mindset of being military and making me say, OK, like
• 47:03
injured, I had to leave. I said I have to do something
• 47:05
now. It was so hard transition back.
• 47:08
  Let's, let's, let's talk about that because it's, it's one of
• 47:12
the things that that I've learned in, in, in this journey
• 47:15
of healing in my own. Like I said, I don't talk about
• 47:18
nothing that I haven't experienced is one of the most
• 47:21
important things you ask any veteran.
• 47:24
It's the camaraderie. That's, that's what we miss the
• 47:28
  most. We don't, I don't miss the B yet
• 47:29
I still miss it today. I don't miss the BS that came
• 47:32
with it. You miss the, the friendship
• 47:35
that that guy would or that girl would die for you or we would
• 47:38
die for you. Like so in that military
• 47:41
conversation that for some, that brain clicks over from a
• 47:46
civilian to the military. And then what I learned is, is
• 47:52
even in social issues today, it applies that we, we were trained
• 47:56
to objectify another human being as an object and then kill that
• 48:01
object. As you mentioned, your family
• 48:03
were part of these World War One and World War twos in Vietnam,
• 48:06
that we were trained to objectify another human being.
• 48:09
But it happens today with black and white issues.
• 48:13
It happens with police officers. I'm a suspect before I'm a
• 48:16
  person. You a Clippers fan?
• 48:19
I'm a Laker fan or whatever. Then I'll.
• 48:21
Give you you because you got on the jersey of another team that
• 48:23
I don't even own the team, but I'm like, yeah, you don't.
• 48:27
  Realize how how I'm a I'm Yeah, I'm a Laker fan.
• 48:30
You're a Clippers fan. You swinging at each other.
• 48:33
I'm going to shoot you in territory that you don't own the
• 48:34
street corner. I said you don't own that land.
• 48:37
Why? You say blood and go.
• 48:38
What are you people? My step?
• 48:41
And that's what it was in the military.
• 48:42
You start having gangs in the military, who's having gangs in
• 48:46
  the police force? Yeah, everything.
• 48:49
So I got out. I said what I'm going to do.
• 48:51
I I got myself ready to go. I said I'm going to get back
• 48:54
into playing baseball. And I've been young and got back
• 48:56
out. I said we'll try to play
• 48:57
baseball again. And I, I met up with Darrell
• 49:00
Strawberry with Mississippi on the Jackson Mets farm team for
• 49:06
the New York Mets in Mississippi.
• 49:08
And I go to the game in the center field.
• 49:10
I said Dee straw. So I said I said Dee straw.
• 49:13
He says who about Dee straw? All people knew I Dee straw
• 49:16
people in the hood. He knew he came from here.
• 49:18
I saw LA were born and raised in LA, but I mean Mississippi boy,
• 49:21
you know, we're out here. But my mom and dad made me come
• 49:24
out here. He said, man, and he pissed to
• 49:26
give me my freshman year. He's a senior in high school.
• 49:30
  What see he's I think Gerald 61 now I'm 58.
• 49:34
He's a senior and I was only person got hit off of him.
• 49:37
He pitched over 2 hitter and one person went on another run and I
• 49:40
got the only hit off him, no hitter, 2 hitter.
• 49:43
So he just said, man, if you want to become the best to what
• 49:47
you have to do, he said your mental toughness and he said
• 49:51
pitch yourself in the military and you're in a trench hole and
• 49:55
gun gunfire. All you got is your gun left and
• 49:57
you got a clip, maybe 3 bullets left on the clip.
• 50:00
You got one clip left, but you got you got 40 soldiers and you
• 50:07
got to figure out either get help or a tie ticket man, you
• 50:11
cannot afford your for your before your demise.
• 50:14
No dying, no dying. So, so you have to think about
• 50:18
choices and like, like my boys say, there's two things we have
• 50:21
in life, a chance and a choice. And every time we're in the
• 50:25
morning, you have a chance to do something different.
• 50:28
And the choice is what you make of when you're out in the
• 50:30
streets. When I tell my son, hop in that
• 50:32
car to got the ignition wire hanging out and that's your
• 50:35
choice you're going to make and then the chance we'll get.
• 50:40
  You know. That's what.
• 50:41
It is We're not different in this.
• 50:42
I'm 50, I'm about to be 55 S Our age range is about the same
• 50:46
mindset of if you know your license is suspended and you're
• 50:50
going to try to make a run to the store, you taking the chance
• 50:54
you know your tags is expired. Look.
• 50:58
Look, and not by three or four months, we're talking 2-3 years,
• 51:01
probably having tags be expired, 3-4 years to try to run to
• 51:04
Mexico with it trying to run to Mexico, and then you get mad or
• 51:10
you get pulled over. You want to challenge the police
• 51:13
officer, which is not your color.
• 51:15
Come on, man. All he all he on his job.
• 51:17
And then when you get in this gunfight, boom.
• 51:20
You know how many times I've been hassled?
• 51:22
I'm going to tell you why I'm running for City Council in the
• 51:23
next segment while I'm running. But the reason why I'm running
• 51:26
because of what the sheriff did to me.
• 51:28
But it took me a while to understand what I really wanted
• 51:31
  to do. Yeah.
• 51:32
Hold on, hold on with the with the baseball segment on my
• 51:35
sports show. Oh yeah, the sports show that.
• 51:37
That baseball segment is is is is gloves for days is my.
• 51:41
Segment for baseball. So what was your gloves for
• 51:44
  days? What?
• 51:44
Happened. Oh, oh, oh, I had AI, had AI,
• 51:46
had AI, had a cannon man, I had a cannon.
• 51:49
LSU can't call him my my senior year in high school without all
• 51:53
white team one brother, the chocolate chip man was me.
• 51:56
Yeah. White folks didn't like that
• 51:58
when I made the team. Yeah they they burned across my
• 52:01
yard at age of 17 my senior year in high school.
• 52:04
My mother who led the fight all was apron a a frying pan and a
• 52:09
rolling pan. She would carry that every she
• 52:12
got said well what are you going to do with the rolling pan The
• 52:15
skillet out is dead. You go to high grease and then
• 52:17
walk around just put on people. But when she felt like they
• 52:19
burned across next to my butane tank in the South for me, making
• 52:23
a tank and go home *** on the side of my, my, my house because
• 52:28
  I was giving it. I was 17.
• 52:29
I had to pay it off when I was 18.
• 52:31
I was 19. I paid the house all the 10,000
• 52:33
they gave me and they burned and I said, now you burned it.
• 52:36
So what I'm going to do So I get my sixfold Chevrolet pickup
• 52:39
truck, grab my 12 gauge Mossberg shotgun.
• 52:42
I go to the Playhouse, shot their tires up their cars and
• 52:44
  windows on the back. Oh.
• 52:45
  My. Goodness.
• 52:46
So I come back home and of course you're you're a good old
• 52:48
  boy. Sheriff department.
• 52:50
They get there and my dad's there.
• 52:52
He do what I did. He can give me a gun and he
• 52:55
takes it and put it in a towel and Sheriff Newman pulls up.
• 52:58
This is Sheriff Newman Junior. His dad was a good old boy sheet
• 53:03
man sheriff before he passed and his son took over.
• 53:06
So him him, him and my dad went to school together.
• 53:09
Now at this time, my grandfather was still alive and very
• 53:12
powerful. He's amazing and very powerful.
• 53:14
Mississippi. And when my grandfather come by
• 53:17
to visit, he got a car. He walked real slow over there,
• 53:19
this little cane. He said, boy Newman, how you
• 53:22
doing? He said, doing good, Lee Adam.
• 53:23
He said, what you want to do with my grandson?
• 53:26
He said your grandson went down and just dropped a cover.
• 53:28
He shot up some car. He said, I'm sure he had a good
• 53:31
reason. And he turned and looked at me
• 53:33
with his hand under the cane and I'm waiting for your reason,
• 53:35
grandson. I said, look, they get to my
• 53:37
house, Grandpa. He said, oh, so now my son's a
• 53:41
*** and you want to come and arrest him?
• 53:43
He said won't be don't won't would not be arrested this day
• 53:47
in my in my grandson's friend and that sheriff said I I
• 53:52
understand Lee, Mr. Adams, I'm going to leave y'all alone.
• 53:55
Let y'all talk about talk about what won't I be the rest in this
• 53:58
family? None this week or next week and
• 54:00
  week after that. Oh wow.
• 54:02
And that went to jail for never got a record for it.
• 54:04
  Nothing. Mississippi, huh?
• 54:06
That's how I do my graph. I was a powerful man Mason.
• 54:08
He killed a man in 19 and got off the all white jury by seeing
• 54:12
the ring and the judge been to Macy.
• 54:14
He saw this man give me no crying.
• 54:15
Y'all didn't see nothing. People have got what people he
• 54:19
said. The look on their face and they
• 54:20
said you got to see nothing. And my grandfather walked and
• 54:24
then what he did, it went in hard logs.
• 54:26
They had mules back in the day. He pulls a log up to a tree to
• 54:29
turn to a petrified rock and he sold it to the museum for 100
• 54:33
grand back in 1920. And then he really invests all
• 54:36
the money in the business museum.
• 54:38
Come. On yeah, we have a, we have a
• 54:40
street near, that's Mississippi, a street near our bank too.
• 54:43
So I, I appreciate you saying that because for, for many of us
• 54:50
don't have the opportunity to sit with our grandparents or our
• 54:55
great grandparents to find out what was life going on.
• 54:58
Back in a. Day back in a day, right And and
• 55:02
again, it's so important because now that we have this whole this
• 55:05
whole racial conversation in black and white, but people
• 55:08
forget that the white the white skin people who came to this
• 55:12
country as second class citizens fleeing from their country for
• 55:16
an opportunity in the United States.
• 55:18
They didn't get along with each other either.
• 55:20
And today they still don't really, even though they're UN
• 55:23
hyphenated and they can check the white box, but they still
• 55:27
don't get along. And So what you point to for me
• 55:30
is, is this next piece of this whole inclusion and exclusion
• 55:34
and this whole diversity and inclusion stuff.
• 55:36
And it's like for me, it's, it's not just what you do for me as
• 55:41
an inclusion or exclusion, it's I also have to experience that
• 55:45
for myself to be included. Yeah, so you can.
• 55:48
Open up all these doors for me and do this all this affirmative
• 55:50
  action and give me opportunities.
• 55:52
But if I don't have the mindset or the mental toughness to walk
• 55:56
through that door to see if I even want to do it or my
• 55:59
environment has taught me you can't do that.
• 56:01
We got you got to get a job at McDonald's, man, because we got
• 56:03
to pay these bills. You got to get a job at the
• 56:04
store. Like you can't be no, you can't
• 56:07
be no scientists. You can't do that.
• 56:09
You can't. No, you got to go get.
• 56:10
This can't become a hidden pioneer like my boy, right?
• 56:14
Exactly. You know, Rodney is my campaign
• 56:19
manager shot my boy Rodney, He might be watching.
• 56:22
And you know Rodney, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 56:27
So you know what's really going to happen in this world?
• 56:30
I know what my initiative is running for City Council.
• 56:33
What the what the biggest, Tucker?
• 56:34
We're going to be running 2028, running all this Olympic stuff
• 56:37
coming up. It's going to be a war zone.
• 56:40
So people say, are you prepared for that?
• 56:42
Let me tell you how I'm prepared for that.
• 56:43
I'm like, I'm like 10 speeding brown shoes TV show.
• 56:47
I'm like, I'm a man called Hawk Spencer Fire.
• 56:49
Not remember the man called Hawk.
• 56:53
I'm a ball hit about a big guy. Anybody gonna try to try to
• 56:56
attack me and my team on my mother podium, I would say would
• 56:58
try. I'm going to be the first you do
• 57:00
a city company going to come that can shoot back.
• 57:03
So don't don't get it twisted. You'll see me on TV saying
• 57:05
Dionne, you can the 1st man in history, the night of the
• 57:08
brother on the owner, on a podium, on the podium you don't.
• 57:11
  Want that? Yeah.
• 57:13
You don't get mad at you. Don't have bodyguards?
• 57:15
Around you, you're not going to have people get mad at me
• 57:17
because I'm telling you the truth of how your cities ran.
• 57:20
In my district, District 8 is a war zone.
• 57:23
You have mental health. Where now?
• 57:25
Where are people who don't know where is District 8?
• 57:27
Located it's it's in Crenshaw Square or Merck Park.
• 57:31
  Oh my. Goodness.
• 57:33
Yeah, all with the all with the Coliseum met all the way down
• 57:36
there of the Broadway war zone areas and Broadway and 36 all
• 57:41
the way down there. So people say, well, how do you
• 57:43
  stop the crime? You can't.
• 57:44
You could never promise somebody you'll stop no crime.
• 57:46
Not about, yeah. I don't know why people be
• 57:48
saying that you know not about this.
• 57:50
The mental mentality, the people on the street, they have mental
• 57:53
problems and you keep building these 400 unit apartments with
• 57:56
no mental health facilities, nowhere inside.
• 57:58
  Nothing. No support.
• 57:59
No, those support no support. That's that's what another
• 58:02
segment. It'll be fun right there you
• 58:05
know, and I got some accolades and and the misses the wife, the
• 58:08
future wife of the be got a program that we going to end up
• 58:11
collabing with my whole team and and looking for the $55 million
• 58:16
measurement to do this this whole sacrifice, you know, and
• 58:20
despair and poverty all kinds of stuff.
• 58:24
So we're going to do something that's going to be so Immaculate
• 58:26
that have the housing teaching them to bring back all auto
• 58:29
shops banking tech for AII teach you how to do all this because
• 58:34
without tech, these kids can't survive.
• 58:36
I say what you going to school for to be a veterinarian for you
• 58:39
want to go ahead. They're going to have robots.
• 58:41
You're going. To have to be able to work on
• 58:44
  the robot dogs. Exactly.
• 58:46
So get a tech, you know, go to school with tech and get a get a
• 58:49
real certification trade and don't worry about college due to
• 58:52
the hardcore stuff. You need nurses no matter what.
• 58:56
But yes, I tell the young girls, don't run the streets and be
• 58:59
your big your big boyfriend is a PlayStation two or your or your
• 59:03
  iPhone 16. What's called 1122 to $100.
• 59:07
But you but you can't afford to get get your teeth done exactly,
• 59:11
you know. It's it's why would you say
• 59:13
that? Because when I look at the
• 59:15
Inland Empire where I'm located at and again, this goes back to
• 59:19
I point to the inclusion and exclusion not we're not far from
• 59:23
the same age. Imagine in the 70s when Compton
• 59:28
was the way it was right. And this hood and the areas
• 59:32
where you were talking about those families say, OK, well, we
• 59:36
got to get out of here because it's I don't want my children to
• 59:39
go through what this. Compton is almost 78% white
• 59:44
people in Compton in the 60s. Now, my, my, my, my transition
• 59:48
is you move from from Compton to San Bernardino, right where it's
• 59:55
lower income and it's cheaper and affordable, but and then
• 1:00:00
that gets full and infiltrated and they push them to Colton and
• 1:00:04
Rialto, Moreno Valley, Clantana, Clantana, Fontana, you got
• 1:00:11
  Lancaster, Palmdale. My point is.
• 1:00:14
The. We moved around these different
• 1:00:17
locations to to create a better life for our families, but we
• 1:00:20
never renew our mindset. We wonder why San Bernardino is
• 1:00:24
such a detrimental place. Well, if you look at where we
• 1:00:28
came from, we moved from Compton to San Bernardino.
• 1:00:31
That changed location. But never renew your hearts.
• 1:00:34
You know, Samuel got broke. The whole the whole city was
• 1:00:36
broke for almost half a decade. Yeah, that needs the
• 1:00:43
  conversation that you're talking about.
• 1:00:44
How do we how do we restore our hearts and.
• 1:00:47
It's by listening to one another and bringing that our
• 1:00:50
conceptual. And it ain't, it ain't.
• 1:00:52
Even that hard, it ain't hard to do.
• 1:00:53
And that's why I'm I'm happy for my my queen.
• 1:00:56
Well, I call her my goddess now and she's all the all the man.
• 1:00:59
I need the kiss because she's taught me how to understand the
• 1:01:04
other reach of, of being a black woman in America and how black
• 1:01:09
women are refuted as being a weak minded link when you got
• 1:01:12
all the other ones trying to go out there and do things that
• 1:01:14
they shouldn't do. But when it comes to us, we
• 1:01:17
don't get enough credit as black Americans, which we, we are.
• 1:01:21
We're not African American, we're black.
• 1:01:23
  Right. Exactly.
• 1:01:24
So I try to teach our young kids, don't get it twisted,
• 1:01:28
$25.00 an hour is better than no hour an hour.
• 1:01:32
So I don't know which y'all complained about when you're
• 1:01:33
1890 years old, if you get home with Mama, stay your butt hole
• 1:01:37
with mom and dad and raise it and, and and save your money.
• 1:01:39
Exactly. Don't go buy a $2200 phone and
• 1:01:43
you walk into work. I said that makes a lot of
• 1:01:46
sense, don't it people? And I have nieces and, and, and,
• 1:01:49
and like that nephews still they have to say and cousins, that
• 1:01:51
same mindset. Yeah, instead of saving their
• 1:01:54
money, we'll go, oh, I'm going to buy this $11100 jacket.
• 1:01:58
  But see, I, I, I'm 54, I got three daughters and three
• 1:02:01
grandchildren, right? So I'm looking back now like
• 1:02:05
man, I should have stayed home till at least I was 2526.
• 1:02:09
Because the only thing is home freedom is.
• 1:02:12
Independence is not freedom. And so but we think again, our
• 1:02:16
minds are still developing as children, as young adults, and
• 1:02:19
we think it knows what it is to be an adult.
• 1:02:21
And I'm ready to go. And bro, I'm I'm 50.
• 1:02:23
Like I should have stayed at least my 2530 year old.
• 1:02:28
Better have talk about all time she 56 with two years apart.
• 1:02:31
She said all time stay at home and you know 18 but I say that
• 1:02:35
but she have a program for that to save that money and need kids
• 1:02:38
be like are such at home because you can't afford a one bedroom.
• 1:02:42
  Yeah, yeah. Not today.
• 1:02:43
It's not LA man. Today a boy called LA.
• 1:02:47
He called it one. No, no, remember 1A day
• 1:02:49
  vitamins. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:02:51
He called LA now. He said, oh, he said one a day,
• 1:02:54
one I said, she called one a headache.
• 1:02:57
He said, make a pill for one a headache.
• 1:02:59
You take that pill, your headache and make all your
• 1:03:01
dreams come true. I mean, you're back home with
• 1:03:02
your mom and dad and save the money.
• 1:03:05
Now, now on the other part of that conversation that I have
• 1:03:08
with our with our young men and men is if you not, if you can't
• 1:03:13
afford that woman, leave her where she at too.
• 1:03:17
You can't afford that woman. Because we are supposed to be
• 1:03:20
the provider. See the the world mixes the
• 1:03:23
biblical conversations together and they get it all jacked up.
• 1:03:26
We are as men. We are supposed to be the 100%
• 1:03:28
provider and take care of her. She ain't.
• 1:03:30
She ain't got to work unless she want to.
• 1:03:32
Yeah, not the world today. But it's like I'm I got these
• 1:03:38
nails are 6 inches long. I can't I can barely even comb
• 1:03:42
my own head nails a lot. I watch this, I'm breaking the
• 1:03:44
world coming to an end. And then you got the young boy.
• 1:03:47
I got to get a Dodge Challenger or a Challenger of 18.
• 1:03:52
And so but I'm going to take it and go and go do a street
• 1:03:54
takeover and just burn my tires there because $1800 a tire I'm
• 1:03:58
going to burn the middle St., the big circle who paid for that
• 1:04:01
your. Mommy, we had, we had our
• 1:04:03
version of that. It's just, it's just with
• 1:04:05
technology and, and, and, and all this with the what the world
• 1:04:08
offers now, It's just a higher level scale of what we did.
• 1:04:11
We didn't have that much, but we did what we did still.
• 1:04:14
And you understand why I'm looking at why President I call
• 1:04:18
President Crump, President Crump is is is doing.
• 1:04:21
He's doing now because he's trying to catch the the crooks
• 1:04:25
by shutting down the feds right now.
• 1:04:26
So I see what's really going on because that federal female
• 1:04:29
ain't number the joke and they should be they taking money and
• 1:04:32
doing they want to deal with it. And he just said I think I may
• 1:04:35
have to close this thing down for a minute to see if he can
• 1:04:38
catch the culprits to see why does money get to people.
• 1:04:40
He promising you want to fix things.
• 1:04:42
If I hire my own company to clean my yard up, I spend FEMA
• 1:04:47
bill for 35,000 and I I don't get that money back.
• 1:04:51
I just paid people to clean my yard up and I'm out $35,000 but
• 1:04:56
I was promised 100%. I get that money back.
• 1:04:59
So I can't make promises to people in the district 8.
• 1:05:02
If y'all hear me out there in my district, I'm not making y'all
• 1:05:04
problems I can't keep right. I'm I'm going to do my do my
• 1:05:08
best to my ability to make change in that district.
• 1:05:12
And, and sometimes, you know, we, we teach from changes and
• 1:05:18
  sometimes challenging for people.
• 1:05:19
Maybe we could just alter the conversation just a little bit,
• 1:05:24
change the perspective just a little bit.
• 1:05:26
Yep, you know, and, and so I appreciate you.
• 1:05:29
I'm, I'm going to ask you this because I, I, I thought about
• 1:05:33
like, do I have the courage to run for office?
• 1:05:36
Because you know, they, they'll pull up your past.
• 1:05:39
I'm just saying they'll, they, they'll, they'll put up an old
• 1:05:41
tweet, they'll put up old Facebook posts on you and be
• 1:05:43
  like, hey. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:05:45
You, you good with? You good with.
• 1:05:47
I'm. I'm going to pull up.
• 1:05:48
I'm going to pull up all the wonderful things about me, if
• 1:05:52
  you want to know. Yes.
• 1:05:53
I've been accused of molesting people.
• 1:05:55
I've been accused of sexual assaulting people.
• 1:05:57
But you can't prove nothing. I don't want you.
• 1:06:00
But people throw them stones. Watch out people, throw them
• 1:06:02
stones. Right, that's what I'm saying.
• 1:06:05
They throw on the phone they. Have a level of confidence to be
• 1:06:08
you got to be OK to have to be and not have that stuff trigger
• 1:06:11
  you. Yeah, you'll bother me.
• 1:06:13
I said whatever I know. I know how people who get
• 1:06:15
jealous of me, I have a more family member jealous of me.
• 1:06:17
I got a friend jealous of me. I have a close friend jealous of
• 1:06:20
me and I never done to them. I said OK, it's OK to be jealous
• 1:06:24
of me, but I still love you. By the way, I got you.
• 1:06:27
If something happened to my my nieces and nephew, I still got
• 1:06:30
that. But either they do weird stuff I
• 1:06:33
laugh about, still got it no matter what.
• 1:06:35
Yeah, I think about that because as, as you see in history,
• 1:06:39
they've they've they kill off our leaders, our black leaders,
• 1:06:42
right, every time. And I sit here and I'm like, are
• 1:06:46
we even ready for another black leader like that?
• 1:06:48
Because we we talk about ourselves like a.
• 1:06:52
The third party? The third party, right?
• 1:06:55
And so who, who, who has the confidence and courage to step
• 1:06:57
and be like, OK, I'm ready to take on this social justice
• 1:07:00
  issue. The dream is there.
• 1:07:02
Now what's what's the next phase of this?
• 1:07:04
What? What, what, what, what DIDAD
• 1:07:07
what D i.e. that, that all the stuff, that equal thing and OK,
• 1:07:13
whatever you want to call it, some, I call it dirt dummy or
• 1:07:15
whatever. But affirmative action to me,
• 1:07:19
I've never been through affirmative action because you
• 1:07:21
know what? Every job I got, I got it
• 1:07:23
because of my skill set. Everything I've ever got because
• 1:07:27
  I'm I'm a hell of a security expert.
• 1:07:29
I'm a hell of a four and half years on federal agent for
• 1:07:34
Homeland 1/3 assessment analyst and people don't realize no one
• 1:07:39
of my family even knew where I was at.
• 1:07:40
I didn't I I was just wanted to tell anybody my job was to
• 1:07:44
threat assessment and to assess any threat that school shooting,
• 1:07:47
any active shooter and they have a higher team to go and
• 1:07:49
investigate. You know, now one person, LALA
• 1:07:52
Unified wanted to talk to me about how to subside the threat
• 1:07:56
assessment of school shootings. They don't want to talk to the
• 1:07:59
school Lieutenant Alberto Dodo, I'll call him Alberto Dodo.
• 1:08:01
They don't want to speak to me. I had a two other page inquiry
• 1:08:05
back in 20/22. He didn't want to talk to me.
• 1:08:11
  He's an immigrant. Yes.
• 1:08:13
  So you ever get me 433? 1000 a year, that's what I'm.
• 1:08:18
Saying, but you're laying off principals, teachers.
• 1:08:21
Thank you. I think the England school
• 1:08:24
district been suffering for 1314 years.
• 1:08:28
And I think vets should have paid more.
• 1:08:29
No more taxes or teachers. Man, we, we want to, we want to
• 1:08:33
go to, we want the education that we have.
• 1:08:35
We're ready to demonstrate that we can transform that
• 1:08:38

Some of us still carry the burden of battle.
• 1:09:13
It threatens to drown us in our everyday lives.
• 1:09:16
In battle, we had our weapons and combat gear to keep us safe,
• 1:09:20
to keep us confident. But when we returned home, we
• 1:09:24
were not armed with weapons and gear to cope with our own minds.
• 1:09:28
I was lucky to find my combat gear, my mental weapon and it's
• 1:09:32
called come ago. Komago is a drug free device

• 1:10:31
Did you see the shot? I lost money from that shot.
• 1:10:34
Oh man, that shot was. Old man, but it was good.
• 1:10:35
  Yeah. What's the note?
• 1:10:45
You really want to know. I do.
• 1:10:51
Exhaustion, muscle spasm, asthmatic issues are.
• 1:10:58
You serious? When I was young, I found out I
• 1:11:00
had sickle cell trait. My mom's told me but I didn't
• 1:11:03
have no knowledge of it. But when I got older, I had a
• 1:11:05
child and the doctor told me my daughter had sickle cell trait.
• 1:11:08
You know, the fact that both parents have sickle cell trait,
• 1:11:11
there's a 50% chance the child may have the trait and 25%
• 1:11:15
chance the child may have the disease.
• 1:11:17
Man, that's what's the count. Do you know that 2.5 million
• 1:11:19
people in the United States have sickle cell trait?
• 1:11:21
300 million people globally. I didn't find out I had sickle
• 1:11:24
cell trait until I was in the Army 10 years.
• 1:11:26
Make sure you know I had a sickle cell trait exertion site.
• 1:11:30
I thought that was a black gene or something.
• 1:11:32
Nah man, the black community is number 21 out of 36,000 babies
• 1:11:36
are being born with sickle cell disease.
• 1:11:38
You could be a Caucasian, Mediterranean, European.
• 1:11:40
You got to read a bloodline, man.
• 1:11:45
There is an inherited gene in our community that has been
• 1:11:47
forgotten. The name is sickle cell trade.

• 1:14:45
That is the revolution radio show.
• 1:14:47
Shouts out to one way TK He's hanging out with me on that clip
• 1:14:50
you saw. That was my previous Co host, J
• 1:14:53
Love and Lillian. They're on break right now.
• 1:14:56
So I'm holding it down with one way TK.
• 1:14:58
We've had some great interviews with some Christian hip hop
• 1:15:00
artists sharing their journeys, sharing their experiences before
• 1:15:04
they came to Christ, what was going on in life as well.
• 1:15:06
So and we play some of the hottest chapter eights now.
• 1:15:10
It took me a while because back in my growing up days, Christian
• 1:15:13
hip hop was corny. Today is not corny.
• 1:15:16
I'm telling you today you heard that track in the background.
• 1:15:19
It is not corny today. And, and by being the host on
• 1:15:22
that and pulling the music for our talk show, you know, my
• 1:15:27
heart got softened and I started listening to some of that music
• 1:15:30
and I'm like, this is actually pretty good.
• 1:15:31
And it's got the word in it. So Christian hip hop, you know,
• 1:15:36
and, and, and plus now having to heal my heart from a lot of
• 1:15:40
these, you know, listen to a song, It'll take you back.
• 1:15:43
Your childhood takes you back to all those moments, good, bad or
• 1:15:46
indifferent. But now to be able to fill my
• 1:15:48
heart with some spirituality, with some Christian, with some,
• 1:15:52
some word, it's balancing out. And sometimes you got to, you
• 1:15:56
don't change. You just got to fill it up with
• 1:15:58
a new program. And so for me, that Holy Spirit
• 1:16:00
and that biblical context is a whole nother program that I had
• 1:16:03
to learn for myself. You know, my parents, my
• 1:16:06
grandparents, being in church all those years, they did what
• 1:16:10
they could do. They planted those seeds, but at
• 1:16:12
some point it was up to me to find God for myself.
• 1:16:15
And so when I had to do that and and not really had to, but I
• 1:16:19
desired to, I've had a great time in my walk, very great time
• 1:16:24
in my walk. And it's not about talking about
• 1:16:26
the word. Those scriptures are for you
• 1:16:28
first. You got to get that word for you
• 1:16:31
first and then your life will be an example of that.
• 1:16:34
And then there's a get if there's a moment that you can
• 1:16:36
share a word with somebody, then you can meet that person with
• 1:16:39
that word. But for for me, what I'm
• 1:16:41
learning is that word is for me first and then I got to apply it
• 1:16:45
to my life. You need they say it's
• 1:16:47
comprehensive, It's knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
• 1:16:50
That's like what you hear growing up.
• 1:16:53
I learned at 54. It is knowledge, understanding,
• 1:16:58
comprehension, revelation, wisdom, and then you apply all
• 1:17:03
that to your life, right? And so if you're interested in
• 1:17:06
that, it is on lit Live GH3 Gods like a positive channel, and you
• 1:17:11
can catch me over there on Saturdays and Sundays.
• 1:17:16
All right, you ready? Yes, Sir.
• 1:17:19
All right, so I'm, I'm, I'm just amazed that after knowing you
• 1:17:28
these years and like I said, for me, the confidence or the
• 1:17:32
courage to go in that political system like I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm
• 1:17:41
glad to hear that you are actually taking that on,
• 1:17:43
especially in that area. I know that I used to be on
• 1:17:45
  Morris Media Studios. Right there.
• 1:17:47
Right off the right, across from McDonald's.
• 1:17:49
Yes, yes, I used to be. For a couple of years after LA
• 1:17:54
Live shut down. Yeah, over the station right
• 1:17:56
  there. So I'm familiar.
• 1:17:58
Grew up off of of of Adams and Jefferson between.
• 1:18:02
OK, I. Know that area real well so.
• 1:18:04
  It's it's a what's a war zone? Yeah.
• 1:18:07
So today, what do you want to say about that?
• 1:18:09
Before we get out of there, well, you know what, first of
• 1:18:11
all, I want to give the biggest shout outs.
• 1:18:13
I was about to my God Lord savior.
• 1:18:15
That's the reason why I'm still here and and and and God give me
• 1:18:18
the opportunity to run and quick story how I started St. takeover
• 1:18:23
one night coming home from the missus took over off Imperial
• 1:18:29
and western by the southwest college and I get I bag my car
• 1:18:34
up and they they follow me to 6 units.
• 1:18:37
They put 6 shotguns on me. The sheriff did they surround my
• 1:18:41
car. They thought I was involved in a
• 1:18:44
street takeover. Two kids went ahead in
• 1:18:46
trafficking in a challenger and ran down the hill at the
• 1:18:49
college. The high I'm backing up the car.
• 1:18:52
They figure, well, what am I doing in Prius?
• 1:18:55
  I'm I'm I'm going to do the 360 turn.
• 1:18:58
So it's when they got I have a gun in the car and the license
• 1:19:03
and they, they. Lost their mind.
• 1:19:05
The black dude. The black dude of all people,
• 1:19:08
their brother. He acted more way out than the
• 1:19:12
  white cops did. Sure did.
• 1:19:14
He called me Crenshaw Mafia. *** you want a Nipsey Hussle mom?
• 1:19:17
  Oh. No, he didn't.
• 1:19:18
I said, did you just call me in front of the clear people?
• 1:19:21
No, I got to help with calling people with a good old boy
• 1:19:23
clear. I called people who were racist
• 1:19:26
to me and clear people. And I mean white, white, black,
• 1:19:29
Asian. So I see you going to call me,
• 1:19:32
you know, And a white dude, like he thought it was funny.
• 1:19:34
  He started laughing. Clear people.
• 1:19:36
Yeah, clear people. And the brother is showing out.
• 1:19:39
I said, I guess you want to show out, you know, And I said go
• 1:19:41
ahead and show out for the people.
• 1:19:44
And he did. And I said, OK, I guess I'm a
• 1:19:49
this guy gets you kind of embarrassed.
• 1:19:51
I couldn't catch him on one car. I call it one car.
• 1:19:54
All these sheriffs is right down the street next door to the
• 1:19:57
southwest the the sheriff department is and y'all couldn't
• 1:20:00
catch none of these cars during the circles in in in imperial.
• 1:20:03
So I'm trying to put rules in place if they catch your kids.
• 1:20:07
St. Tech with a mother and father
• 1:20:08
responsible to kids at home for any damage to our our public
• 1:20:12
properties in the schools, on the streets.
• 1:20:14
They got to get that bill from the city of his 10 racks.
• 1:20:16
Your parents will have to pay for the restitution or somebody
• 1:20:19
going to jail. That's the law I want to put in
• 1:20:21
place. If I come and run for no
• 1:20:24
Councilman in that district, you're not going to do that on
• 1:20:26
on my diet. You're not going to do that on
• 1:20:28
my diet and whoever. I think it's Holly Mitchell's
• 1:20:31
  Harry over there. Her.
• 1:20:32
  I think it her. Yeah.
• 1:20:33
  So good luck. Yeah.
• 1:20:34
She was about. You want to let your people do
• 1:20:36
that stuff, make the parents pay for it.
• 1:20:39
Make the parents say OK, my son Johnny's in the bed.
• 1:20:41
  No, Johnny's at 711, Raid 711. So that's why I say I need to
• 1:20:47
run and and and shout out to my boy.
• 1:20:49
I'm going to give me a shout out.
• 1:20:50
Marquis Harris Dawson, who's the the current District 8.
• 1:20:57
I'm not going to say leave bad brother, brother, but I don't
• 1:20:59
think you do a left foot 8. This is last three-year of a
• 1:21:03
four year term. This is last third term.
• 1:21:06
He's terming out in 28. That's it for him.
• 1:21:08
And for some reason I I think he's all if he's scared to come
• 1:21:11
to hood, but he probably was my sister's stuff when she had her
• 1:21:15
nonprofit for foster care never showed up.
• 1:21:17
None of the photos, no kind of clean up for the for the alley
• 1:21:21
clean up. She was trying to do never.
• 1:21:24
So I actually, so one day I went to a a a a she got a city thing
• 1:21:28
in front of the front of the for the city.
• 1:21:30
She got her her recommendation from the city.
• 1:21:33
He didn't show up for that to give it to her.
• 1:21:36
  So I'm wondering why I know for a fact I can't be a City
• 1:21:40
Councilman like that. And now you're the president of
• 1:21:42
the City Council. You're running that too.
• 1:21:44
So how can you call yourself a City Councilman?
• 1:21:48
And you're not even trying to show the people you're not?
• 1:21:50
He wasn't even from the hood. He wasn't even born Ellen.
• 1:21:51
He was born at the San Gabriel. Son of a preacher.
• 1:21:54
I don't like to be the son of a preacher.
• 1:21:56
  Yeah. Yeah.
• 1:21:56
  No, no, no, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's for me again.
• 1:22:02
How you want to clean that up, right?
• 1:22:03
Yeah, How you going to clean it up?
• 1:22:06
Is is is the people got to get them something back, got to show
• 1:22:11
them we have initiatives in District 8.
• 1:22:13
So the ideal, this big idea was with my fiance getting with was
• 1:22:18
sacrifice, poverty and despair Academy when the academy's going
• 1:22:22
to be maintained, the kids will have to maintain a three-point
• 1:22:26
grade point average or to get this Academy and we'll have
• 1:22:29
  funding like scholarships, grant scholarships.
• 1:22:32
Hopefully the president understands some of these
• 1:22:34
scholarships are needed for some of these schools are private
• 1:22:37
Academy. Everybody won't be able to go to
• 1:22:38
this Academy. It's the kids who who never had
• 1:22:40
a chance to go to UCLAUSC can come to this Academy and learn
• 1:22:44
auto mechanics, home tech, you know, you know, auto mechanics,
• 1:22:49
  home tech, cooking, AI technology.
• 1:22:55
But we also have living there maybe 100 units on the property
• 1:23:00
that people will be able to go to mental health facilities to
• 1:23:03
learn how who they are or how they lost along the way to her
• 1:23:06
being a veteran. And this is about 55,000,000.
• 1:23:10
But guess what, Some people who love me so much but wouldn't
• 1:23:13
give me the money. For it. 55,000,000 Because I'm
• 1:23:16
going to put it right, we're going to find land and and I
• 1:23:19
could collaborate with another. No Councilman, a certain
• 1:23:21
district. I can do that and make something
• 1:23:24
  happen because why? Why not?
• 1:23:25
Why, Why? Why didn't you work together?
• 1:23:28
Yeah, work together so that we can make sure these people
• 1:23:30
understand they, they own the streets.
• 1:23:32
That's what I found out. People's homeless on the
• 1:23:34
streets. They mindset it's like no one
• 1:23:37
cared we can tuned out no one cares about me.
• 1:23:40
Yes, and what 41% of my think on the street you have consensus
• 1:23:44
again are veterans on the street and a large population.
• 1:23:49
So you ask them, well, why are vets on the street?
• 1:23:51
We get all this housing for no, you don't have it all the
• 1:23:53
housing for them. You do not have a lot of housing
• 1:23:56
for what you have is Section 8 capability.
• 1:24:00
That's the one Section 8 capability you get.
• 1:24:02
They're getting their funds for you guys are people.
• 1:24:05
But then you guys want to cut all the defense spending Donald
• 1:24:08
Trump want he wanted to boost the the the defense.
• 1:24:11
Donald Trump said get them soldiers that money.
• 1:24:13
We can keep our borders clear. And when when the Democrat side
• 1:24:16
and say we're not going to get that money to them, get what
• 1:24:18
happened, open it wide open, Everybody comes in.
• 1:24:21
Everybody coming in his SO. His words are are deadly, he
• 1:24:25
said. God has blessed him, but now
• 1:24:26
they talk about, well, he didn't put his hand in the Bible when
• 1:24:28
he got sworn in. You know what it's.
• 1:24:30
  Just. It's just.
• 1:24:31
So funny you say that because every president back in the day,
• 1:24:35
we didn't have a camera angle that we have now.
• 1:24:37
Camera angles, right? You know, how do we know Kenny
• 1:24:39
put his hand in the Bible? How do you know how do?
• 1:24:41
You put his hand about Obama. Exactly.
• 1:24:44
  You don't. You don't.
• 1:24:45
You don't know so y'all? Y'all actually put a camera
• 1:24:49
underneath that man clothing with private parts here to see
• 1:24:52
if he was putting his hand in the Bible?
• 1:24:53
What sick person would think when they get that?
• 1:24:56
So you'd ask yourself, That's crazy to me.
• 1:24:58
When when you said that when one of the ways to fix it is to is
• 1:25:02
to have the parents. Yeah, part of that.
• 1:25:07
Consequences because here's here's that parent.
• 1:25:09
We had a couple of parents growing up.
• 1:25:11
Oh, my kids never do that, but we had to.
• 1:25:13
They was the worst drug dealers in the whole entire St.
• 1:25:16
These three boys was am I going to say their name because we
• 1:25:19
real good friends. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
• 1:25:21
Yeah. And they Mama was always like,
• 1:25:24
my boys never do that. But your boys had a drug house.
• 1:25:27
But my house, Pomona, you're saying if you ever see this
• 1:25:32
show, he knows exactly what we're talking about.
• 1:25:35
I came back from Mississippi just to fight him because we
• 1:25:37
lost our home, only owing four more mortgage payments to the to
• 1:25:42
  the raid. I got a.
• 1:25:44
RAID. From a raid they have taken our
• 1:25:47
home. My mother only owned six my.
• 1:25:50
Dad. Owned the house and so he took
• 1:25:54
the house. He said well I'll pay it off for
• 1:25:56
it without I I want to have my cousin move in.
• 1:25:58
He turned me to a drug lab house.
• 1:26:01
That's not. Cool, so when I found out I go
• 1:26:04
back, I come back to California to fight him.
• 1:26:06
We going to fight knife fight. We going to have totaled up.
• 1:26:09
I I got cut right here. He got diced up pretty bad.
• 1:26:13
I mean he sort of marks now. I I let him live that I wanted
• 1:26:17
you to live with pain. You, you thought you lived
• 1:26:20
because I didn't want you to live.
• 1:26:21
I was highly trained. I want you to live.
• 1:26:23
I cut a Achilles. I put a artery in his.
• 1:26:27
All right, all right, all right. Well, you know all all the
• 1:26:30
  small, right? Right.
• 1:26:32
I let him know I'm here to stay, you know, that's what it was.
• 1:26:36
I, I want to point out, you know, this, this philosophy and
• 1:26:40
theology and ideology that, that I, that I live from is why what
• 1:26:44
you said is important to me. Because again, it goes back to
• 1:26:48
the biblical principle, the, the, the command with a promise
• 1:26:53
right on your father more than for the, to have those long days
• 1:26:57
to live longer, to live longer, right?
• 1:27:00
So, so when you look at that and, and as I shared earlier in
• 1:27:03
the beginning of the show, honor your father and mother is not
• 1:27:06
that you love or like them, but how you think about them.
• 1:27:10
And if we can teach our children to honor their father and mother
• 1:27:14
to think, what am I, if I go and do this crime or, or, or or rob
• 1:27:19
steal this candy? Think about what is my, what is
• 1:27:22
the reputation I'm going to do to my family?
• 1:27:24
What is, what am I, what am my mom going to say about this?
• 1:27:26
What's my dad going to say about that?
• 1:27:29
Yes, that's long. And that's a quick conversation
• 1:27:32
to yourself to make you say, no, I'm not.
• 1:27:34
You know what? I can't do that.
• 1:27:36
My, my parents are not going to they're not going to prove that
• 1:27:38
behavior, but we don't have that because maybe sometimes that
• 1:27:41
child if, if it's like a bully, I'm going to take my frustration
• 1:27:45
out on you so I can redirect it. But I'm really hurting at the
• 1:27:48
house because I can't get attention from my parents.
• 1:27:51
So I'm going to get that to me one way.
• 1:27:53
One way the other, you know, paying to each other for the
• 1:27:56
good thing pay. Attention to them doing the bad
• 1:27:58
thing, and I believe that that's that disconnection between that
• 1:28:02
child and parent and we can restore that.
• 1:28:05
We sure can. Great, we can restore that
• 1:28:07
  relationship. Yeah, we sure can.
• 1:28:09
And, and that's what it comes with mental health.
• 1:28:11
This is why, This is why this mental, this facility and this
• 1:28:14
Academy needs to be built, be built because we want to have
• 1:28:17
100 units there plus a mental health facility on the property.
• 1:28:21
Then you can go there and you, you have a, a 24 hour daycare
• 1:28:26
for people who can't have the kids go to work at night.
• 1:28:30
The mother's stressed out when you can't go to work.
• 1:28:33
Now, now imagine that again, we now we go back to the school
• 1:28:36
district and the child is worried about what's going on at
• 1:28:38
home. But you want me to pay attention
• 1:28:40
in class. I'm worried about how I'm going
• 1:28:42
to get home. I'm worried about what's going
• 1:28:43
on at home. I'm worried about what I'm going
• 1:28:45
  to eat at night. Exactly.
• 1:28:47
But I've got to pay attention. You want me to be able to pay
• 1:28:49
  attention in the classroom? Exactly.
• 1:28:51
So at 11 years old, I don't know what's going on.
• 1:28:53
Your next meal coming from that Mama going to be at home and
• 1:28:56
she'll be knocked out. Anita and her and her vein, all
• 1:28:59
the stuff. How do you spend the little 11
• 1:29:01
year old kid to deal with that school?
• 1:29:02
  How much? Man, come on.
• 1:29:04
I was, I was, I was what we call, they call a latchkey kid
• 1:29:08
in 1978 and I had to walk home 2nd grade by myself with the key
• 1:29:13
around my neck, right? And go in the house and don't
• 1:29:16
turn the oven on. Don't, don't go outside.
• 1:29:18
Don't answer the phone. Don't do nothing.
• 1:29:20
But you know what I heard? I heard my mom say when she gave
• 1:29:23
me that key, Here's the key to the front door front.
• 1:29:25
I'm leaving you when you come home.
• 1:29:27
  Don't, don't, don't. All I heard was I'm leaving you
• 1:29:30
and the pain that I felt made me say that my mom abandoned me and
• 1:29:35
that I can't trust. Yup, at 12 years old, you heard.
• 1:29:39
All you heard was that was it. You know what I'm saying?
• 1:29:41
  Don't, don't, don't you say I'm leaving you.
• 1:29:43
And and the concept of an 8 year old for some have no concept of
• 1:29:47
time. It felt like 20 hours being at
• 1:29:50
home by myself. So for five or six hours you got
• 1:29:52
to work 8. Years and you know, and that,
• 1:29:54
you know, when I hear that that was eight years old, you know,
• 1:29:56
when I healed that at 51, just three years ago, because I in
• 1:30:01
the CBT common behavior course at the VA and I put that story
• 1:30:05
in that curriculum and I realized it was only 90 minutes.
• 1:30:09
It wasn't even it wasn't it felt like 20 hours, but it was 90
• 1:30:14
minutes. So then I could no longer say
• 1:30:15
that my mom abandoned me because I had to tell the truth to
• 1:30:18
myself. Is 90 minutes being abandoned
• 1:30:21
for Ron? No, no, but that's how I felt as
• 1:30:26
a child. So you're talking about 32 years
• 1:30:31
big drain that I lived like my mom abandoned me and talked and
• 1:30:34
treated her as such and talked to her as such.
• 1:30:37
Disconnected. You see, I'm going to talk about
• 1:30:39
in the educational part of it when it comes to this Academy,
• 1:30:42
and I'm going to give the biggest shout out to my my boy
• 1:30:45
Tyair. Tyair is a map genius.
• 1:30:48
We created a map called character math.
• 1:30:51
When I tell you got to do it, when you meet this brother, the
• 1:30:55
kids who are who are having problems, they're learning.
• 1:30:57
He can teach you character math in less than 20 minutes to teach
• 1:31:01
you your math multiplications do using 0 before everything comes
• 1:31:06
  back to do. He's a he's a mathematic genius.
• 1:31:09
So we're going to take that character math in this whole
• 1:31:12
emulation, this whole Academy and put it into our biggest
• 1:31:15
curriculum for all the money going to come.
• 1:31:17
We're talking rich, rich white folks saying, look, man, joy,
• 1:31:19
how much are you going to need this couple?
• 1:31:21
Because one couple told me with $25 million be enough, come on.
• 1:31:26
And he said because she heard the word education and character
• 1:31:28
math, she was so blown away. Come on man.
• 1:31:31
I tried my boy Tom Johnson, my, my, my financial guy, Tom said.
• 1:31:37
That's right. That's how we go to get this
• 1:31:39
money. But you're going to need to
• 1:31:40
character math when people see what they're seeing, educate
• 1:31:44
itself. And you know, we we know what
• 1:31:46
25th in the world when it come to math.
• 1:31:48
  Yeah, we last. We last.
• 1:31:51
My kids walk around there. We teach stuff out of order too.
• 1:31:54
  Oh my God, so 2 + 2 + 2 is a PlayStation 3 + 3 is is a a
• 1:32:02
roadblocks. 4 + 4 is just Japanese anime when the women
• 1:32:07
got boobs and butter and cartoon.
• 1:32:10
I got grown men in my house watching that game when showing
• 1:32:13
boobs and women's these Japanese they show natural.
• 1:32:16
Curves. Yes, in cartoons, in the cartoon
• 1:32:20
fashion. That's what I'm saying to
• 1:32:21
  myself. And.
• 1:32:23
You ask yourself, why am I beating us in in space and
• 1:32:26
  everything else? Exactly.
• 1:32:27
They can't be the astronauts. They're not trying to be
• 1:32:29
astronauts. I don't even know that Debbie
• 1:32:32
Allen's mom and Fleece Rosada's mother was one of the hidden
• 1:32:36
  figures. Yeah.
• 1:32:38
Yeah, She was one of the hidden figures there.
• 1:32:40
Yeah, I was one of the hidden figures.
• 1:32:41
  I didn't know that. Yeah.
• 1:32:43
  And they'll Bill Montgomery's I his president.
• 1:32:46
  Yeah. Catherine Johnson.
• 1:32:48
They named it Johnson Space Center after.
• 1:32:50
It wasn't the president. And then it was because of her.
• 1:32:53
What did the president do besides we forced him in the
• 1:32:56
Sign of Civil Rights bill with God's King.
• 1:32:58
That's a whole nother story we got to.
• 1:32:59
Come back a whole nother story. So you got to come back at the
• 1:33:02
end of the day. I appreciate the time on here I
• 1:33:04
  want. To get shot.
• 1:33:05
Thank you. A list of all my people go ahead
• 1:33:08
let us know start now first we know of course, the kiss of Pew
• 1:33:12
and her her vision from sacrifice and power and despair
• 1:33:15
Academy where she going to put and make it come to premonition
• 1:33:18
in 202526 We're going to be breaking ground and Lawrence say
• 1:33:21
the same I I speak to the assistance and my boy Chris
• 1:33:25
Corrales from the president CEO of lend lend and and loans out
• 1:33:31
of Costa Mesa. I know he wasn't listening to my
• 1:33:33
boy Derek D2 crazy tunes that do all of my my stuff for me, my
• 1:33:38
shirts, all our logo stuff for us.
• 1:33:41
Of course, my boy Kevin Indio Copeland, who was listening, my
• 1:33:45
boy, of course, Tyair. And you know, of course made me
• 1:33:48
Rodney out of Ripley. All right, Rodney.
• 1:33:50
You know for sure. And you know, and the hosting
• 1:33:53
group, all my friends and I didn't get Kevin, who's the one
• 1:33:57
that made me a part of, you know, the Hall of Fame
• 1:34:00
bodyguards. And our our next show is Detroit
• 1:34:03
this year. So I'll be going to Detroit for
• 1:34:05
the next show and bare knuckle the bodyguard.
• 1:34:07
And he's the reason why I was the first ever deducted in 2018
• 1:34:11
and and I appreciate that. Where's the show?
• 1:34:12
That show that you got the is that award in front of you?
• 1:34:14
  Where's? It yeah, right here.
• 1:34:16
It, it was just the very first award I got was this, you know,
• 1:34:20
I got that. Then I decided, you know, we got
• 1:34:23
a we got a show before that. Of course, it was the very first
• 1:34:25
  American flag. We got flagged.
• 1:34:28

• 1:34:30
We we made sure everybody got one of these.
• 1:34:32

Me, I'm the vest. That's behind the vest and geez,
• 1:34:56

• 1:35:03
tell all book. You're getting a real cheat who
• 1:35:06
I really was. It was the things I did.
• 1:35:08
I'm not a ashamed of, but it was some man cherry grid, it was a
• 1:35:11
mathematic and it was some some some John Gotti stuff.

• 1:37:08
Y'all better, y'all better catch him.
• 1:37:09
But you got to be with Christ though.
• 1:37:12
It's the. Order now I figured it.

• 1:37:27
look out now and look if y'all need to find a drive truck,
• 1:37:30
she's not going to do any more. She retired, but we are building
• 1:37:32
our own trucking company coming soon.
• 1:37:34
What was the name? We had paper chasers name
• 1:37:37

• 1:37:44
So look out of our trucks, man. We come in, we believe we're
• 1:37:46

• 1:37:49

• 1:37:51
We have a security company. I have a big mission.
• 1:37:55
Oh, I want to say a shout out there before we leave to my boy
• 1:37:58
Dennis. We just I just sent you a link
• 1:38:01
to your phone. We just signed A10 year lease
• 1:38:03

• 1:38:07
It's called flying. It's called flying arenas.
• 1:38:10
I'm part of that right now and I just sent it to your phone.
• 1:38:13
Take a look at that. When I tell you that arena all
• 1:38:17
sporting thing, he want to talk to you because you're in your
• 1:38:21

• 1:38:24
So I talked to my boy Dennis, and he's one of the guy that
• 1:38:27
just closed the deal for 10 years.
• 1:38:29
We got that whole facility and got over 4000 parking spots.
• 1:38:33
  Holds 10,000. Arena we're.
• 1:38:35
Going to be doing our first boxing event, going to be there

• 1:38:40
So let's, let's get it, man, you're such a blessing for those
• 1:38:44

• 1:38:45
I want you to, before you log off, I want you to hear this is
• 1:38:48
my mentor. I've been working with Caldwell
• 1:38:50
for the last eight years almost. He's the one that's leaving me.
• 1:38:55
The mental health education one of those.
• 1:38:57
That you have. So I want y'all to listen to
• 1:38:59
this. This is his documentary that's
• 1:39:02
going to be coming out. It's about four minutes.
• 1:39:04
  I want y'all. To hear.
• 1:39:05
This is the Frondose Show Trench Talk US edition.
• 1:39:11
Just check out. This is Caldwell Williams.
• 1:39:16
The most compelling social need of humans is to belong.
• 1:39:25
All four of my grandparents were born slaves.
• 1:39:28
My father's father. He was seven years old and sold
• 1:39:33
away from everything and everybody he knew.
• 1:39:38
He never again saw any member of his family.
• 1:39:43
My father, he's born in 1884. His mother had died in
• 1:39:49
childbirth, and he raised himself from age 8.
• 1:39:56
The sheriff came with his posse, took my father and my oldest
• 1:40:00
brother and beat them. My father died with scars on his
• 1:40:04
back from that beating. If the sheriff puts you in jail
• 1:40:09
in a Jim Crow S, where do you turn to seek justice?
• 1:40:17
I love school. I I it became a source of me
• 1:40:22
finding myself when I'd graduated from UCLA 1957 and was
• 1:40:27
never even able to get an interview.
• 1:40:29
No Jews, no Negroes, no Hispanics, no Orientals.
• 1:40:35
Need apply now. What do I do?
• 1:40:43
Boy, you add color to our faculty.
• 1:40:45
  That's, that's all we're interested in.
• 1:40:48
All the other counselors were instructed to give me their
• 1:40:51
failing seniors, dopers, rebels, suicidals, listening to 12th
• 1:40:58
graders who were not going to graduate.
• 1:41:01
They told me what was going on in their lives.
• 1:41:03
I discovered that I had something to offer people that I
• 1:41:07
thought had everything. Wood was already out on the
• 1:41:11
campus. That the skinny black did was
• 1:41:13
cool. I've got all these kids who want
• 1:41:15
to talk to me and I don't have the time to see them.
• 1:41:17
I think I might be able to see everybody if I saw them in
• 1:41:20
  groups. Individual psychotherapy on a
• 1:41:23
couch was the only method. Skinny black dude want to do
• 1:41:26
groups? You can't do that because it
• 1:41:30
doesn't exist. To hell with them.
• 1:41:33
Let's do it anyway. Parents want to know, what are
• 1:41:37
you doing to bring about this reaction to my kid?
• 1:41:40
I've been sending my kids to the best psychiatrist in Southern
• 1:41:42
  California and this hasn't happened.
• 1:41:45
This shit works. Developing adolescence without
• 1:41:51
narcotics is a radical new national idea.
• 1:41:56
Oh, you know you can't do that. I'll turn to school.
• 1:42:00
That includes sensitivity, the mental health needs of our
• 1:42:04
students. This is too big for you.
• 1:42:08
Would you be willing to train my managers?
• 1:42:12
  Yeah. Who's Caldwell Williams?
• 1:42:13
He hasn't published anything. 22 Iraq Afghan veterans committing
• 1:42:20
suicide every day. I think I know who these young
• 1:42:24
people are. Mr. Williams, you don't want to
• 1:42:28
touch this. You don't know who we are, Mr.
• 1:42:34
Williams. And I said yes, I know who you
• 1:42:38
are. Maybe you don't know who you
• 1:42:39
  are. Did your parents encounter
• 1:42:42
  racism? Oh, my gosh, yes.
• 1:42:45
How about your grandparents? Oh, my.
• 1:42:48
Even worse. Then how did we get here?
• 1:42:53
Someone persisted and prevailed in spite of.
• 1:42:57
I would assert that no less is required of us.
• 1:43:22
So when you hear me talk about emotional intelligence and
• 1:43:25
veteran suicide and youth suicide, I was already on that
• 1:43:29
journey with my personal development courses and the
• 1:43:31
stuff that God had put me on that path.
• 1:43:32
And then I met Caldwell in 2018 and he and I have been going
• 1:43:38
through his education. I'm the only one who is, he's
• 1:43:42
been trained and developed. People have fallen off.
• 1:43:44
Most people don't think that children can do this kind of
• 1:43:46
  work. I've taught emotional
• 1:43:48
intelligence in LA Unified School District this past year
• 1:43:51
to 4th and 5th graders and middle school students.
• 1:43:55
It works for veterans suicide, as you saw.
• 1:43:59
He's, he's 90 years old, about to be 91 this coming year.
• 1:44:02
He has been doing this work for over six decades, man, man.
• 1:44:06
So that's the guy. That man his, his education is
• 1:44:10
phenomenal, man, man. It's a simple conversation and
• 1:44:14
he said well, well, my well, my my better have been said ever
• 1:44:18
come to when it come to childhood trauma what you did
• 1:44:20
yes, you can be healed and this man something everything he
• 1:44:23
talked about this dude is unbelievable.
• 1:44:25
  That's. The work that's.
• 1:44:26
The work deal with white people like.
• 1:44:28
That that's what I'm saying, Jim Crow.
• 1:44:30
Era and he that's the work that dude do you do we got a book
• 1:44:33
out. Got a book, but like I said,
• 1:44:35
we're we're we I've been working for since 2000, 2018 and no one
• 1:44:39
listened because they don't they don't believe that anybody can
• 1:44:41
  do that work. Who?
• 1:44:43
Who shot a Who shot a documentary?
• 1:44:45
He does what he. It's almost finished.
• 1:44:48
  Yeah, it's almost. Finished.
• 1:44:49
I got the I got the, I got the that 5 or 10 minutes.
• 1:44:54
Yeah, I got the, you know, my boy Dennis W, that's the.
• 1:44:57
Work I've been preaching, man, That's the work I've been
• 1:44:59
sharing from his education, the stuff that I learned with my own
• 1:45:02
personal life. Like we got the work.
• 1:45:04
It's just we've been to the school district, we've been to
• 1:45:07
the Superintendent, like you said, all people you pointed
• 1:45:09
out, we've been trying to get to them.
• 1:45:11
Mayor Butts in Inglewood, like we want to demonstrate.
• 1:45:14
But, you know, maybe see Mayor Butts like the rest of them, the
• 1:45:17
former cop that has that mentality.
• 1:45:20
  I'm no judge. Exactly.
• 1:45:23
  I don't judge. I'm a judge, the jury.
• 1:45:24
But I tell you what, I'm the I'm the court reporter.
• 1:45:28
I ain't no judge and jury, but I'm the person.
• 1:45:30
What you saying every day I'm typing it and.
• 1:45:32
I'm putting. His brain and said you want to
• 1:45:34
tell us you can't and you know you can.
• 1:45:37
Let us show you man, don't talk about about it.
• 1:45:41
So that's just $55 million measure we want to have for the
• 1:45:45
  school. We do.
• 1:45:46
We do a good number because I think 55 men, it's going to be
• 1:45:50
more than enough to what we have to do and we have money to do
• 1:45:52
what we want to do because education is part of it.
• 1:45:55
Because people know America is wasn't wasn't built on.
• 1:45:59
Oops. America was built on the
• 1:46:00
shoulders of all immigrants on this earth.
• 1:46:03
And then we look at all the patents we have and then we look
• 1:46:06
at the the biggest fault I have with our people is all this
• 1:46:10
reparations. I'm changing people break it
• 1:46:13
down, reparations and I'm going to say quicksand.
• 1:46:15
Now we're done, $100 million off to you and 100 acres of land.
• 1:46:22
Can you take it or leave it? You signed a contract, now
• 1:46:24
  you're happy. I got 100 million and I got 100
• 1:46:28
acres of land. They come to me and say, well,
• 1:46:31
your great grandfather invented the ironing board signal light
• 1:46:34
and we just got to find out that you're the sole heir of the
• 1:46:37
empire. How much is it, $11 trillion?
• 1:46:41
Now you just messed around and you said 100 million is good
• 1:46:44
enough for me. I got I got life wealth now for
• 1:46:47
all my grandbabies, all my great grand to a big different when
• 1:46:50
you have all that patent money. Different life.
• 1:46:53
Different life just here hit by little reparations.
• 1:46:56
You can't put a number on reparations.
• 1:46:57
  No, you can't. You can't.
• 1:46:59
You don't put one on there, but everybody know for a fact when
• 1:47:02
you and me probably kidding that person invented something in
• 1:47:04
America. We probably sold that a lot.
• 1:47:07
We second to their cousins and guess what they found Thunder
• 1:47:10
Bruce Femme had all them people and then Bruce Femme got their
• 1:47:13
  beats back. I.
• 1:47:13
Remember. Yeah, then Manhattan and yeah.
• 1:47:16
I, I, I went, I went to the ceremony, then me and my me and
• 1:47:19
my other half went to the beach and we read what they went
• 1:47:22
through. And that's what it is we go
• 1:47:24
through. And then they still still
• 1:47:25
  didn't. They still sell it.
• 1:47:28
People can say they sold it, that's it.
• 1:47:30
But I heard they got a they get a check every.
• 1:47:34
  Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
• 1:47:36
All the white people on that land, I don't know, It's owned
• 1:47:38
by black people. You got to move out.
• 1:47:43
But see, yeah, that's it. So why would you not do that?
• 1:47:48
You know, Why would you understand?
• 1:47:49
So God is good. That's why I tell everybody
• 1:47:52
