S6E1 - #100: The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)
Episode Notes
It’s a whole new world this week as we embark on our sixth season: watching the AFI 100 Thrills List. First up, one of the oldest movies Amity has ever watched – Robin Hood. Errol Flynn! Olivia de Havilland! Shadow swordplay! Glitter! This film has it all. We talk about what makes a “thrilling” movie, how horses should have won awards, the magic of color shifting fabric, and how we know this story in our bones without a clear memory of learning it in the first place. We’re off and running!
Recommendations: Ron Gone Wrong (HBO Max); Don’t Look Up (Netflix)
Next up: Speed (1994)…
