  Zechariah 13, which says, "And the whole

  land, declares the Lord. Twothirds will

  be struck down and perish, yet onethird

  will be left in it. This third I will

  put into the fire. I will refine them

  like silver and test them like gold.

  They will call on my name and I will

  answer them. I will say they are my

  people and they will say the Lord is our

  God. Men, scriptures never promise that
• 0:41
  most people will choose God. In fact, it
• 0:44
  tells us just the opposite. Through the
• 0:46
  prophet Zachchariah, the Lord says

  twothirds will be struck down and
• 0:51
  perish. Yet onethird will be left in it.

  This third I will put into the fire. I
• 0:57
  will refine them like silver and test
• 0:59
  them like gold. God's describing a
• 1:02
  separation not between nations but
• 1:04
  between people between those who belong
• 1:06
  to him and those who do not. Jesus later
• 1:10
  explains the same truth using a
• 1:12
  different image. Two roads. One road's
• 1:15
  broad, easy, crowded, comfortable. Most
• 1:18
  people are on it. The other road's
• 1:20
  narrow, difficult, costly and lonely.

  and few choose it. The broad road's
• 1:26
  attractive because it promises comfort
• 1:28
  now, health, wealth, pleasure, control.
• 1:32
  Men on this road believe they are living
• 1:34
  their best life now. But scripture
• 1:36
  exposes the lie. The road leads to
• 1:39
  eternal separation from God. For those
• 1:42
  who reject the son, Jesus the savior,
• 1:44
  and refuse to humble themselves before
• 1:46
  him. The narrow road tells a different
• 1:49
  story. It's the road of disciplehip, the
• 1:52
  road of perseverance, the road of
• 1:55
  refinement. God says he puts his people
• 1:57
  into the fire, not to destroy them, but
• 2:00
  to purify them. Following Jesus means
• 2:03
  overcoming the flesh, resisting the
• 2:06
  devil, and enduring the hostility of a
• 2:08
  world that hates the light. It means
• 2:11
  suffering now, but being rewarded
• 2:13
  forever. Health and wealth religion
• 2:16
  belongs on the broad road. It's the tool
• 2:18
  of the deceiver. training men to worship
• 2:21
  comfort instead of Christ. The narrow
• 2:24
  road is marked by giving, serving, and
• 2:26
  losing one's life so that others might
• 2:29
  find salvation in Jesus. The world calls
• 2:32
  these men fools. God calls them his
• 2:35
  people. Make no mistake, both roads end
• 2:39
  at the same place. Jesus Christ stands
• 2:42
  at the very end of every path as King of
• 2:45
  Kings, Lord of Lords, and Judge of all
• 2:48
  humanity. Those from the broad road will
• 2:51
  face judgment for rejecting his mercy.

  Those from the narrow road will be
• 2:55
  welcomed into everlasting joy, life
• 2:58
  without end, peace without threat, and
• 3:00
  provision without lack in the presence
• 3:03
  of God forever. Run today's play, men.

  Choose the narrow road. Endure the
• 3:08
  refining fire. Call on the name of the
• 3:11
  Lord because refinement proves
• 3:14
  ownership. And those refined by God will
• 3:17
