- 0:34Speaker 2: Working hard as usual? Yeah? Jacing it?
- 0:39Speaker 3: Yeah? That podcast, your latest, Will Do It Live. Gene
- 0:43Speaker 3: Simmons is a guest. He's a brilliant guy, isn't he.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:47Speaker 1: It was very interesting to talk to him, particularly about
- 0:50Speaker 1: his mother, who survived a concentration camp in Germany, and
- 0:55Speaker 1: how he was shaped by her upbringing. And in my
- 1:00Speaker 1: new book, Confronting America, what has to change, parental authority
- 1:08Speaker 1: take center stage. We have so many bad parents in
- 1:12Speaker 1: this country. Parents who abandon their children, neglect their children,
- 1:18Speaker 1: have crazy points of view, take drugs in front of
- 1:22Speaker 1: their children, and get drunk.
- 1:25Speaker 2: That I thought.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Simmons really hit it. He said, I never took drugs
- 1:31Speaker 1: or drank to excess because I didn't want to break
- 1:34Speaker 1: my mother's heart. I thought that was one of the
- 1:37Speaker 1: most profound statements I've ever heard from an interview subject
- 1:41Speaker 1: of mine. And he was clean the whole time that
- 1:46Speaker 1: he was a big rock star for Kiss.
- 1:49Speaker 2: So it's insights like.
- 1:50Speaker 1: That we try to give everybody.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Every week.
- 1:53Speaker 1: We got Glenn Beck coming up on Thursday, and Beck,
- 1:56Speaker 1: as you know, is a very interesting to me because
- 2:01Speaker 1: you never know where he's gonna come down. And we
- 2:05Speaker 1: talk about the communism thing, which I believe is a
- 2:07Speaker 1: big threat. Some people dissent from that, but I think
- 2:14Speaker 1: that this thing could catch fire, this communist thing.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Really yeah.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I mean when you have a population, and again it
- 2:25Speaker 1: goes back to parenting, where you expect to be given
- 2:30Speaker 1: the keys to the kingdom of life, and then you
- 2:33Speaker 1: don't get anybody given it to you. Then you want
- 2:38Speaker 1: that where's mine? I mean, how come the government is
- 2:41Speaker 1: not give me a house? How come that have babysitting
- 2:45Speaker 1: my kids?
- 2:46Speaker 2: You know?
- 2:46Speaker 1: How come I don't have free health care? And that
- 2:50Speaker 1: thing I think can grow and it always turns into
- 2:56Speaker 1: detalitarianism always, and I'm keeping my eye on it. I
- 3:03Speaker 1: just think that this came very quickly into New York
- 3:06Speaker 1: City and other places, and it will wreck the social
- 3:11Speaker 1: order that we have.
- 3:13Speaker 3: So all these voters doing this is the result of
- 3:15Speaker 3: bad parenting, bad teachers, bad professors for a couple of generations.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, if you were a kid and your
- 3:23Speaker 1: parents give you everything and you don't have to work
- 3:28Speaker 1: for anything, I'm sure that you work when you were
- 3:30Speaker 1: a kid. I started working on I was ten years old.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Ten years old, I was cutting lawns, shoveling snow, doing
- 3:38Speaker 1: whoever I could make a book. Okay, And now kids,
- 3:44Speaker 1: you never see them. There's snows, nobody's out there with
- 3:47Speaker 1: a shovel. All the migrants are doing the gardening work.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Nobody's cutting any lawns. And so when the kids in
- 3:56Speaker 1: my town, they.
- 3:57Speaker 2: All have debacarts.
- 3:58Speaker 1: They're just running in get whatever they want.
- 4:01Speaker 2: They don't care how much it costs.
- 4:03Speaker 1: And then they get out of a real world where
- 4:06Speaker 1: daddy and mommy aren't there anymore, and they go, wait, wait, wait,
- 4:11Speaker 1: what do you mean I have to work hard? I
- 4:12Speaker 1: have to get up at seven in the morning. I
- 4:14Speaker 1: don't want to do that. So give me, ma'am dommy,
- 4:18Speaker 1: give me, give me what I want. Give me a house,
- 4:22Speaker 1: all right, give me food. Food is next to New York.
- 4:25Speaker 1: By the way, He'll slap so many regulations on grocery stores.
- 4:32Speaker 2: The City Council of New York.
- 4:34Speaker 1: He tried to make it impossible for them to operate,
- 4:37Speaker 1: so that the city control the flood of food that
- 4:42Speaker 1: comes into you and they have me and people. This
- 4:44Speaker 1: is called cooperating. The essentials of life, you know, housing, food, everything. Okay,
- 4:54Speaker 1: they want to take it over, and that's what commune is.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Now. You're the best selling a historian. Have we ever
- 5:03Speaker 3: gone through any period like this ever in American history?
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yeah, a couple of times. And it's interesting you asked
- 5:10Speaker 1: that question because in the Revolutionary War, when we were
- 5:13Speaker 1: fighting the King of England, George, half the College didn't.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Want to didn't want to fight.
- 5:21Speaker 1: They didn't want to do it. Really, they want to
- 5:23Speaker 1: stay under this tutalitarian king told them what to do
- 5:28Speaker 1: and how to do it, and that was it. Half
- 5:31Speaker 1: of half of the people that lived in North America
- 5:35Speaker 1: did not want to fight the British. And then in
- 5:39Speaker 1: the Civil War you had the state seceding. You know,
- 5:43Speaker 1: we're not giving up slavery. You look at what you do.
- 5:46Speaker 1: We don't want to be Americans anymore, will be you know,
- 5:51Speaker 1: South Americans or whatever. There will be plantation Americans. And
- 5:55Speaker 1: so it's happened before, not to the extent it's happening
- 6:00Speaker 1: now because you have the media drivingness enabling this. I mean,
- 6:06Speaker 1: Caitlin Collins on Seeing any Other Night said there's a
- 6:10Speaker 1: difference between communism and socialism. Hey lady, no, that's not okay,
- 6:17Speaker 1: And you want to debate me all day long and
- 6:19Speaker 1: be happy to sit down on the Mark Simone Show
- 6:22Speaker 1: and debate you about that. There is no difference. If
- 6:26Speaker 1: you are going to limit people's potential, if you are
- 6:28Speaker 1: going to tell them what they are going to do,
- 6:31Speaker 1: how they are going to live, you can slap a
- 6:34Speaker 1: socialist word on it or a communist word. Trump addressed yesterday.
- 6:39Speaker 1: He said, ah, they go himself democratic socialist because it
- 6:42Speaker 1: sounds good. That's exactly right. These are communists. They want
- 6:47Speaker 1: to control the means of production. That's what Mandami wants,
- 6:53Speaker 1: and he will try everything to make New York City
- 6:58Speaker 1: into that kind of a place.
- 7:00Speaker 3: So, if the media had not gone totally corrupt ten
- 7:03Speaker 3: years ago when Trump showed up, if they were honestly
- 7:05Speaker 3: covering all these crazy democrats. We wouldn't be going through
- 7:09Speaker 3: this now, would we.
- 7:11Speaker 2: No.
- 7:12Speaker 1: And social media's to blame as well, but the corporate
- 7:18Speaker 1: media because they hated Trump so much because of his
- 7:22Speaker 1: demeanor primarily, but he is a conservative guy in the
- 7:27Speaker 1: sense that he puts forth, I don't want anybody's sneaking
- 7:30Speaker 1: across the border in our country. That's a conservative position.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Now the liberals say, let everybody in, everybody should come in. Okay,
- 7:40Speaker 1: So because the media hates Trump so much, they let
- 7:44Speaker 1: his opposition have a free ride, and to this day
- 7:50Speaker 1: that happens. And then they figured out they can make
- 7:53Speaker 1: money making and that happen, although CNN has failed in
- 7:56Speaker 1: that regard.
- 7:58Speaker 2: But you know, the liber.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Networks and the liberal news presentations, they make some money.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Sixty minutes makes money, not what it used to be,
- 8:08Speaker 1: but it makes money. And then on the other side,
- 8:11Speaker 1: Fox makes a lot of money by talking to conservative
- 8:15Speaker 1: Americans exclusively. Okay, that's what they do. And so the media,
- 8:23Speaker 1: which was once mandetty to find out the truth and
- 8:27Speaker 1: to tell the American people this is really what's happening,
- 8:32Speaker 1: does not do that anymore.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's been about ten years now, that's kind
- 8:38Speaker 3: of baked in now is the media is never gonna.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Be Yeah, And the only saving grace to use the
- 8:45Speaker 1: cleiche is that operations like mine, which are totally independent
- 8:52Speaker 1: I have prospered. So I'm just looking this morning at
- 8:57Speaker 1: our balance sheet about our revenue on YouTube. But it's
- 9:02Speaker 1: amazing so that people who understand that they're being conned
- 9:08Speaker 1: on television in particular newspapers are gone, but they understand,
- 9:16Speaker 1: you know, David Muir is not telling me the truth.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I'm not getting the truth from Newsmax or whatever it is.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I'm just getting their point of view.
- 9:25Speaker 2: They come over to me.
- 9:28Speaker 1: And they bring advertising dollars and they bring a whole
- 9:32Speaker 1: bunch of other.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Things that make me successful.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I've been doing this almost ten years now as an
- 9:37Speaker 1: independent broker of the news, and that's the first time
- 9:41Speaker 1: in history that has ever happened.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Well, Bill O'Reilly great stuff. Now, make sure you follow

- 10:43Speaker 1: And it's a totally different book than but all my
- 10:47Speaker 1: books are kind of different, but this one is basically
- 10:50Speaker 1: on my experience covering the news for more than fifty years.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I can't believe it.
