  Speaker 1: at Philip almost looks like the same person. It's the

  Speaker 1: same Holy Spirit power working into these two brothers. And

  Speaker 1: that lets me know that this power is available for

  Speaker 1: you and for me, and this is how we should

  Speaker 1: look as brothers and sisters in the Lord. So I

  Speaker 1: hope that you're getting blessed out of this the same

  Speaker 1: way I'm getting blessed. And I'm learning more about myself

  Speaker 1: up in verse thirteen. Today I'm gonna hit you with

  Speaker 1: the new King James version. In like I said, we
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: were talking about the life of Philip, and now Simon
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: the Sorcerer steps on the scene verse thirteen. And then
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: Simon himself also believed, and when he was baptized, he
• 4:55
  Speaker 1: continued with Philip and was amazed seeing the miracles and
• 5:01
  Speaker 1: signs which were done. Now, do you have to back
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: up a little bit. Simon was proclaimed to be a
• 5:08
  Speaker 1: great power of God. He bewitched the people, and so
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: Simon obviously got his power from the dark side. He
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: has some influence over the people. And there are people
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: like that today in the world, especially when you go
• 5:28
  Speaker 1: to places like Africa or other countries. They got witch doctors,
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: they got people that are just straight up serving Satan.
• 5:36
  Speaker 1: May get that power from the dark side. There is
• 5:40
  Speaker 1: a power that is available, and sad to say, our
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: youth here in America are dabbling in it and they're
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: getting caught up for his God that some are making
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: it out. But I wouldn't play Russian with lot with that,
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: because there's a lot who are not making it out.
• 5:58
  Speaker 1: The enemy is a liar and there's always a price
• 6:02
  Speaker 1: to pay when you want to dance with him. But
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: Simon comes and he encounters the power of God through
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: Philip by the Holy Spirit. And so let's see his reaction,
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: and it says that he was amazed seeing miracles and
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: science done. Now, Simon's belief was intellectual, right. He was
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: a musician, he was a sorcerer. He was not transformed.
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: He followed Philip, but not because he surrendered to Christ.
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: There was no surrender involved, because he was fascinated by power.
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: Miracles impressed Simon. He was impressed by these miracles, but
• 6:50
  Speaker 1: his heart had not been humbled before the Lord. Now
• 6:56
  Speaker 1: this verse right here is a straight up warning. You
• 6:59
  Speaker 1: can believe facts about Jesus and get baptized, hang around ministry,

  Speaker 1: and still not be surrendered. Simon followed the signs, but
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: he did not follow the Savior. Check this out. True

  Speaker 1: faith doesn't just admire power, it submits to authority. Let
• 7:25
  Speaker 1: me say that again, True and living faith does not
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: admire power. It is a submission to authority. And this
• 7:36
  Speaker 1: includes godly leaders. Hey, man, if you are submitted to
• 7:43
  Speaker 1: your pastor at church, or maybe you're involved in a ministry.

  Speaker 1: Let's say if you are a part of the His
• 7:50
  Speaker 1: Hot Nation ministry, I wouldn't even get involved or join
• 7:55
  Speaker 1: if you're not willing to submit to the authority that
• 7:59
  Speaker 1: God has played over the ministry. Amen, And it'll be

  Speaker 1: difficult trying to start your own ministry when you don't
• 8:08
  Speaker 1: know how to submit to authority. Because if you can't
• 8:12
  Speaker 1: submit to a leader that God hasn't anointed and ordained now,
• 8:20
  Speaker 1: how are you going to submit and listen to God?
• 8:23
  Speaker 1: It's a training process, and then when people join your ministry,
• 8:28
  Speaker 1: they're going to have that same spirit to where they're
• 8:31
  Speaker 1: not gonna want to submit to you. So it's like
• 8:36
  Speaker 1: a it's like a domino effect. But it shows that
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: his heart was not transformed at all. Verse fourteen. Now,
• 8:49
  Speaker 1: when the Apostles who were at Jusum heard that Samaria
• 8:53
  Speaker 1: had received the word of God, they sent Peter and
• 8:57
  Speaker 1: John to them. Now checked this out. The Apostles weren't
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: coming to control some Aria at all, but to confirm
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: the work of God and assure doctoral unity that they're
• 9:16
  Speaker 1: teaching biblically and teaching correctly. The Apostles doctrine, which is

  Speaker 1: Christ crucified. Now, God values accountability and revival, and of course,

  Speaker 1: There's no such thing as going out there and just

  Speaker 1: being solo. Right now, when God starts locally, he confirms corporately.

  Speaker 1: There should be some agreements, some confirmation in what you're

  Speaker 1: doing for God. Amen. Verse fifteen, who when they had

  Speaker 1: come down prayed for them and they that they might
• 10:10
  Speaker 1: receive the Holy Spirit. Now this is good. Now, this
• 10:17
  Speaker 1: was not salvation being withheld. The Holy Spirit had not
• 10:22
  Speaker 1: yet come upon them in the way to empower them.

  Speaker 1: And it hasn't come in its fullness yet, the empowering
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: work of the Holy Spirit. And we need to pray
• 10:37
  Speaker 1: and ask God for the fullness of the power the
• 10:41
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit to come on us. Amen. Because there's a
• 10:45
  Speaker 1: difference between being saved and being empowered. When you say
• 10:49
  Speaker 1: that again, there's a difference between being saved, being regenerated
• 10:56
  Speaker 1: in the baptism, or the power of the Holy Spirit
• 11:00
  Speaker 1: feeling us up. Salvation changes your destination. The spirit feeling
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: changes your boldness. When your spirit spirit, let me talk
• 11:15
  Speaker 1: right here, hallelujah. Father, When you are filled with the
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit, one of the signs is that you are
• 11:23
  Speaker 1: now emboldened to witness for Christ and to preach the Gospel. Amen.

  Speaker 1: Verse sixteen. For as yet he had fallen upon none
• 11:37
  Speaker 1: of them. They had only been baptized in the name
• 11:41
  Speaker 1: of the Lord Jesus. So it says it right here
• 11:45
  Speaker 1: in scripture that the Holy Spirit has not fallen yet. Amen.

  Speaker 1: Now God delayed the outpouring so the Church would remain united.

  Speaker 1: It was a factor of union. Jews and Samaritans receiving
• 12:04
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit together. That's beautiful. Even though they were
• 12:09
  Speaker 1: divided beforehand. Now they're partaking together in the Holy Spirit.

  Speaker 1: Now that's the heart of God. Now, God sometimes delays
• 12:22
  Speaker 1: power to protect unity. Timing is very important in the Kingdom.

  Speaker 1: God truly values unity to the point where he if
• 12:43
  Speaker 1: a brother is causing division, the scripture tells us to
• 12:47
  Speaker 1: kick him out the church. That's how serious God is
• 12:51
  Speaker 1: about unity. Verse seventeen. Then they laid hands on them
• 12:58
  Speaker 1: and they receive the Holy Spirit. Now, the land on
• 13:04
  Speaker 1: of hands was a point of contact. It was not
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: a formula, but it was a point of contact to
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: release our faith. There's no magic method, only obedient faith.
• 13:21
  Speaker 1: God responds to hunger, not our hype. How hungry are
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: you for the power of the Holy Spirit to fall amen?
• 13:36
  Speaker 1: Verse eighteen. And when Simon saw that through the lying
• 13:41
  Speaker 1: on of hands of the apostles, the lying un of
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: the apostles hands, the Holy Spirit was given, he offered
• 13:51
  Speaker 1: them money. Now Simon wanted the ability with out the relationship.
• 14:03
  Speaker 1: How many of us want blessings from God? And ability
• 14:08
  Speaker 1: to do things, but are really not interested in a
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: relationship with God. This is where Simon's heart was exposed,
• 14:22
  Speaker 1: just a mere gesture of this. He wanted position without repentance,
• 14:29
  Speaker 1: and he wanted power without purity. We have to pay
• 14:34
  Speaker 1: the price for anointing. Amen, We have to pay the price.
• 14:46
  Speaker 1: God gives us salvation freelye, but we have to work
• 14:52
  Speaker 1: for the anointing, the power, and to say intimate in
• 14:58
  Speaker 1: our relationship with Him nineteen saying, give me this power,
• 15:07
  Speaker 1: also that anyone who on whom I lay hands may
• 15:13
  Speaker 1: receive the Holy Spirit. Now, Simon viewed spiritual power as
• 15:23
  Speaker 1: a commodity. You can't purchase what only comes through death
• 15:30
  Speaker 1: to self. Let me say that again. You cannot purchase
• 15:36
  Speaker 1: only what comes through death to self. The annointing flows
• 15:40
  Speaker 1: from obedience, not ambition. When you said this again, God
• 15:50
  Speaker 1: is good. Thank you. Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit flow through
• 15:55
  Speaker 1: this podcast. Open up our hearts and our minds. Help

  Speaker 1: us to really get the message today. Amen. The anointing

  Speaker 1: flows from obedience, not our ambition. Amen. It starts with

  Speaker 1: death to self. It starts with First of all, we

  Speaker 1: got to realize that we're not living for ourselves anymore.

  Speaker 1: We have been bought with the price. So that means
• 16:27
  Speaker 1: turning off Netflix for a while. That means not scrolling

  Speaker 1: on social media for a while. That means getting alone
• 16:36
  Speaker 1: in a quiet place and just spend time with our
• 16:40
  Speaker 1: heavenly Father, not allowing ourselves to go the easy way
• 16:48
  Speaker 1: all the time. Sometimes we have to pay the price
• 16:54
  Speaker 1: to be disciplined. Amen, and I pray that the Holy
• 16:58
  Speaker 1: Spirit will give us a break through in this Hallelujah,
• 17:01
  Speaker 1: because I want to be more disciplined. I believe this
• 17:06
  Speaker 1: is something that we all struggle with our consistency. We
• 17:10
  Speaker 1: have to pay that price for our relationship, power and
• 17:17
  Speaker 1: annointing if we truly want it. We have to fast.
• 17:21
  Speaker 1: We have to put these things in place. That's one
• 17:24
  Speaker 1: of the reasons why when I'm discipling or working with people,
• 17:28
  Speaker 1: I tell them, Hey, meet me every day at eleven o'clock,
• 17:32
  Speaker 1: because you're developing a spiritual discipline and hopefully it spills
• 17:38
  Speaker 1: over and helps us in the other areas where we
• 17:41
  Speaker 1: need to be disciplined. Hey, man verse twenty. But Peter
• 17:52
  Speaker 1: said to him, your money perished with you because you
• 17:57
  Speaker 1: thought the gift of God could be purchased with money. Wow.
• 18:03
  Speaker 1: Now This is one of the strongest rebukes in scripture.
• 18:09
  Speaker 1: The Gospel is free, but it's not cheap. You cannot
• 18:16
  Speaker 1: manipulate God. You cannot buy God. Peter said, straight up,
• 18:25
  Speaker 1: your money, let it perish with you. Put in one.
• 18:37
  Speaker 1: You have neither part nor portion in this matter, or
• 18:42
  Speaker 1: your heart is not right in the sight of God. Now,
• 18:47
  Speaker 1: Simon's problem was in ignorance. It was a heart condition.
• 18:53
  Speaker 1: God looks past activity and checks motives. Ministry doesn't equal maturity.

  Speaker 1: People can be in ministry for the wrong motives and
• 19:07
  Speaker 1: the wrong reasons. And that's why I pray. That's why
• 19:11
  Speaker 1: we need to pray. God show us our hearts, show
• 19:15
  Speaker 1: me my motive, show me where I'm at. And that's
• 19:22
  Speaker 1: why we got to stake in the Word of God.
• 19:23
  Speaker 1: The Word of God will help us if we stay
• 19:27
  Speaker 1: in the Word will help our hearts. It's like a cleansing,
• 19:32
  Speaker 1: a constant maintenance, because we can have nasty stuff grow
• 19:36
  Speaker 1: in our hearts and we could be blind to it,
• 19:39
  Speaker 1: but the Holy Spirit will expose it and reveal it
• 19:43
  Speaker 1: to us. Amen. Ministry doesn't necessarily equal maturity. And I
• 19:51
  Speaker 1: believe that God is an amazing thing that God gave
• 19:55
  Speaker 1: Peter discernment and showed him his heart condition. Amen. Verse
• 20:05
  Speaker 1: twenty two. Repent therefore of this your wickedness and pray
• 20:12
  Speaker 1: God it perhaps the thought of your heart may be
• 20:17
  Speaker 1: forgiving you. Now there is still mercy that is offered here.

  Speaker 1: Paul gives him instruction. Correction is the grace of God.
• 20:33
  Speaker 1: God rebukes people so that he can restore us. Amen.

  Speaker 1: He doesn't rebuke us to reject us. His heart is
• 20:42
  Speaker 1: to restore, to give us grace. And I love it
• 20:46
  Speaker 1: when God exposes a problem, he gives a solution behind it. Amen.

  Speaker 1: The world just wanted to leave you condemned, and when
• 20:55
  Speaker 1: to expose you and leave you high and dry. But

  Speaker 1: God gives us away, back, away, out, and hallelujah, praise

  Speaker 1: God for that. I'm thankful that he doesn't reject us.

  Speaker 1: But we are accepted in the beloved. And this is

  Speaker 1: interesting here that it says, perhaps the thought of your
• 21:20
  Speaker 1: heart may be forgiving you. Don't pass over that too quickly, Beloved.

  Speaker 1: We can get in trouble just by thinking the wrong thing.

  Speaker 1: That's why I say cast down imagination and bring every
• 21:40
  Speaker 1: thought captive. We gotta think about what we think about.

  Speaker 1: You can't just allow any random thought to float around
• 21:48
  Speaker 1: in your head. This man is about to get judged
• 21:55
  Speaker 1: because he had a wicked thought in his heart. He
• 22:00
  Speaker 1: ain't even do nothing yet. Amen. Well, I mean he
• 22:06
  Speaker 1: did try to buy the gift of God. But I'm
• 22:08
  Speaker 1: just saying, like, wow, God looks at the thought twenty
• 22:13
  Speaker 1: three before I see that you are poisoned by bitterness
• 22:20
  Speaker 1: and bound by iniquity. Paul saul right into his heart. Amen.

  Speaker 1: Bitterness blinds spiritual perception. Let me say that again. Bitterness,
• 22:37
  Speaker 1: not only bitterness, but sin itself blinds us spiritually. We
• 22:45
  Speaker 1: could be blinded to our true condition. That's why I
• 22:48
  Speaker 1: was saying. The Word of God will reveal our own motives.
• 22:55
  Speaker 1: Unrepentant bitterness can coexist with real religious activity, but it
• 23:03
  Speaker 1: will eventually choke out truth. Bitterness will grow if we
• 23:12
  Speaker 1: don't repent of it, and bitterness will choke out life.

  Speaker 1: Remember the word. A guy says, if you don't forgive
• 23:20
  Speaker 1: your brothers, then our heavenly Father will not forgive us.
• 23:27
  Speaker 1: And trust me, it is not worth it. Amen. Then
• 23:34
  Speaker 1: Simon answered and said, pray to the Lord for me
• 23:38
  Speaker 1: that none of these things which you have spoken may
• 23:42
  Speaker 1: come aubund me. Now that's a great response by Simon.
• 23:49
  Speaker 1: I believe. Now Simon though feared the consequences more than
• 23:56
  Speaker 1: the sin that he was committing. Now, true repentance hates sin,
• 24:05
  Speaker 1: not just the results of it. I believe it was
• 24:11
  Speaker 1: a good response from the surface. But he should have
• 24:16
  Speaker 1: been more like, helped me change my heart, the attitude
• 24:22
  Speaker 1: of my heart, so that he will not suffer those consequences. Amen.

  Speaker 1: And we need to add that to our prayer list. Lord,
• 24:32
  Speaker 1: change our heart, deal with our heart, cleanse our heart
• 24:36
  Speaker 1: and our motives, like even for us, even for his
• 24:41
  Speaker 1: high nation. What is the reason? What is the motive
• 24:45
  Speaker 1: behind passing now toys and doing events and concerts in
• 24:51
  Speaker 1: the community. We need to pray and ask God, why
• 24:57
  Speaker 1: do we do what we do? Hey man, and then
• 25:03
  Speaker 1: allow God to expose the motives behind it Verse twenty five.
• 25:16
  Speaker 1: So when they had testified and preached the word of
• 25:20
  Speaker 1: the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in
• 25:25
  Speaker 1: many villages of the Samaritans. Amen, Hallelujah. The gospel continued
• 25:34
  Speaker 1: to spread. That's a good thing, Hallelujah. And even in
• 25:40
  Speaker 1: our day today, the gospel is spreading, Thank you, Lord. Now,

  Speaker 1: even failure moments don't stop God's mission, even though there's

  Speaker 1: moments where we had filled. Just remember God will always

  Speaker 1: pick us back up. Thank God for the grace that

  Speaker 1: He gives to pick us back up so that the
• 26:17
