- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation. Welcome to Just the Cats. My
- 0:15Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett on this Friday, October 16th. A
- 0:20Speaker 2: little bit of an overcast day. It looks like it's
- 0:22Speaker 2: going to rain, but hopefully it doesn't. I don't know
- 0:24Speaker 2: what the weather's going to be like this weekend.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Cold. It is? For you, yeah, cold. Justin Kalen. Oh, sorry.
- 0:30Speaker 1: You didn't introduce me. It's okay. No, no.
- 0:32Speaker 2: You don't need to apologize. You're It's still your birthday. So, no, please,
- 0:37Speaker 2: by all means, interrupt me whenever you need. If I
- 0:39Speaker 2: need to go get you another donut, I'm happy to
- 0:41Speaker 2: go do that right now. I never want a donut again.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Oh, really? Geez, LP. Why? I think I ate four
- 0:47Speaker 1: donuts yesterday.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Well, you know, that was nice of Officer Jamie to
- 0:51Speaker 2: come over here and take care of you and me.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I'm still full. Are you really? Yeah.
- 0:56Speaker 2: And I always like seeing him. I will say, whenever
- 1:00Speaker 2: I see a policeman in uniform... It's intimidating to me.
- 1:06Speaker 2: And I know he likes us and we're friends with him,
- 1:09Speaker 2: but it's still intimidating.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Is that a guilty conscience? I don't know. Is it?
- 1:15Speaker 1: Because I have nothing to be guilty about. Maybe I do.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Why do you get nervous? I don't know why I
- 1:21Speaker 1: get nervous. I just do.
- 1:22Speaker 2: It's like he's got all these, you know, ammunition. He's
- 1:25Speaker 2: got his gun. He's got his taser.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And I don't know.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Part of me wants to say, you know, let's go
- 1:30Speaker 2: ahead and do hangover. Just go ahead and tase me.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Have you ever been tempted to be tased?
- 1:36Speaker 1: No. Not at all? No. Okay. Definitely not like the
- 1:40Speaker 1: hangover even when he gets tased in the face. That's crazy.
- 1:43Speaker 1: In the face. Yeah, that really happened. You think that
- 1:48Speaker 1: really happened?
- 1:48Speaker 2: That was, according to Zach Galifianakis, they really tased him
- 1:54Speaker 2: in the face.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Can we believe him, though? I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I don't think they would make something like that up.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Do you? I can't imagine being tased. He's kind of goofy.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I can see him making that up. I like goofiness, though.
- 2:08Speaker 1: He is goofy. So is the Asian guy in the movie.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Kim Jong. Kim Jong. Yeah.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I can't remember that name. But, yeah, that's a. I
- 2:19Speaker 2: know his part in that movie was real. When he
- 2:23Speaker 2: ran off without any clothes on? Yeah, and his appendage.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yes. That was great. That was real. I didn't need
- 2:31Speaker 1: to see that. As embarrassing as that is for him,
- 2:33Speaker 1: that was real.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I think his guest appearance on game day might be
- 2:38Speaker 2: one of the funniest, if not the funniest.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I don't know that I've ever seen that. Oh, really?
- 2:42Speaker 2: When they're at UCLA and he refers to his wife
- 2:46Speaker 2: as hoe? And then he says, that's her last name, ESPN.
- 2:53Speaker 2: How dare you?
- 2:55Speaker 1: Oh, it's hilarious. I can't believe you've never seen that. Nope. Oh, yeah.
- 2:59Speaker 2: And Kirk Herbstreit is just dying laughing because he said,
- 3:05Speaker 2: you complete me. That's what he says. He goes, you
- 3:07Speaker 2: complete me, hoe. And he goes, that's my wife's last name.
- 3:10Speaker 2: How dare you, ESPN? Yeah, it's awesome. But, yeah, that
- 3:15Speaker 2: guy is genuinely funny, even though he went to Duke.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Did he? Yeah, he went to Duke. You didn't know that?
- 3:21Speaker 2: How do you know that? I don't know how I
- 3:23Speaker 2: know stuff. That's why I'm great at trivial pursuit. I
- 3:27Speaker 2: know random, useless information. And, you know, you get to school,
- 3:31Speaker 2: and it's like I flunked everything. I was just terrible
- 3:34Speaker 2: at school, yet I love– meaningless information and learning about
- 3:39Speaker 2: it so you don't you're not a specialist in any
- 3:41Speaker 2: one category you just know a little bit about everything
- 3:44Speaker 2: i probably so i mean i don't know i might
- 3:46Speaker 2: know a little more about history than anything else and
- 3:49Speaker 2: and maybe a little bit more about english.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Speaking of everything this just reminded me of a quote
- 3:53Speaker 1: that kenny brooks said oh okay when he was on
- 3:56Speaker 1: with us yes how you do anything is how you
- 3:59Speaker 1: do everything What a quote. Yeah. When he said that yesterday,
- 4:05Speaker 1: my brain went spinning. I was like, holy smokes, that
- 4:08Speaker 1: is incredible. Hold on, hold on.
- 4:09Speaker 2: How you do anything is how you do everything?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah. God, now I want to go back and ask him,
- 4:16Speaker 1: where did he get that from? Yeah, that's when he
- 4:18Speaker 1: was talking about his players and just their work ethic
- 4:21Speaker 1: and all that.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I will have to say, that was probably one of
- 4:24Speaker 2: my more favorite interviews yesterday.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I really, every time he comes on.
- 4:30Speaker 2: And when I said at the very end, you know
- 4:32Speaker 2: how much UK, the fan base loves you. And I'm
- 4:36Speaker 2: talking about me mostly, but I think the fan base
- 4:39Speaker 2: and I, no, I don't think it. I believe the
- 4:41Speaker 2: fan base loves him as well, but I just, I
- 4:45Speaker 2: appreciate him.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 2: And if I if I ever did see him and
- 4:50Speaker 2: I meant this, too, if I ever did see him
- 4:52Speaker 2: out to dinner with his family, I am grabbing a
- 4:54Speaker 2: chair and sitting with them. I'll buy dinner, but I'm
- 4:58Speaker 2: interrupting dinner the entire time and I want to hang
- 5:01Speaker 2: out with him. I just I just there is something there.
- 5:04Speaker 2: You know, certain people have. uh auras i think my
- 5:09Speaker 2: uh both my boys do especially my youngest son i
- 5:12Speaker 2: think they have a a completely different type of aura
- 5:15Speaker 2: that people want to hang out with and that's kenny
- 5:17Speaker 2: brooks to me in a nutshell yeah he just has
- 5:20Speaker 2: an aura that you want to hang out with him
- 5:22Speaker 2: he's so cool he is to me and the fact
- 5:25Speaker 2: that he had the power k when he was a
- 5:27Speaker 2: kid living in virginia yeah and he called it kenny.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a lot of fun.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Oh, it was. I mean, he made me laugh. He
- 5:37Speaker 2: didn't make me cry, thank goodness. But I just felt
- 5:40Speaker 2: every joy I could talking to him. And it's just
- 5:43Speaker 2: like a normal guy just sitting there talking to him.
- 5:45Speaker 2: He's a guy you would like to. And I try
- 5:48Speaker 2: and think of, who are the UK coaches that you
- 5:51Speaker 2: would legitimately like to go out and hang out with?
- 5:55Speaker 1: Definitely Will Stein. Oh, I hate to tell Kenny Brooks this.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I think Will Stein is number one. Yeah. I would
- 6:03Speaker 1: probably still go Brooks number one. Well, see, that does
- 6:06Speaker 1: not surprise me. Just because he's had more experience. He's
- 6:09Speaker 1: a little bit more of an old head, so he
- 6:11Speaker 1: could pass some things down that Will Stein couldn't. Plus,
- 6:15Speaker 1: he doesn't quite have the mouth of Will Stein. I
- 6:19Speaker 1: don't know if I could handle Will Stein just dropping
- 6:21Speaker 1: F-bombs everywhere in the bar.
- 6:23Speaker 2: How does he do this, though? You know, in normal life,
- 6:25Speaker 2: he's dropping those like crazy. But then when he gets
- 6:28Speaker 2: on the radio, it's completely out of his mouth.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It's like me. I mean, it's the same thing. Oh,
- 6:32Speaker 1: are you really? Okay, I apologize. I've never heard you
- 6:36Speaker 1: even use that word around me. Oh, yes, you have.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Have I really? Absolutely. Never mind. Although there are, I
- 6:42Speaker 1: don't talk. The same way I do with my friends
- 6:45Speaker 1: around you because I know you're not a big cusser. No,
- 6:48Speaker 1: I'm just not. And you don't, you're not, I don't know.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So out of respect for you, I don't cuss a
- 6:52Speaker 1: lot around you.
- 6:54Speaker 2: It would not bother, listen, my buddies I hang out
- 6:57Speaker 2: with are dropping it all the time. They're saying shoot
- 7:00Speaker 2: with the eye. They're saying damn. They're saying hell. It
- 7:04Speaker 2: doesn't bother me that much. I mean, it's just not
- 7:07Speaker 2: my style to say that.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I don't know why. Honestly, I talk around you. Yeah.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Similar to the way I talk around my grandparents. Oh, great. Oh,
- 7:18Speaker 1: my gosh. Like, I don't want them to hear me
- 7:20Speaker 1: using that language. I feel the same about you for
- 7:23Speaker 1: whatever reason. Thanks a lot. Really, really.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I wasn't calling you old, Michael. It feels like you
- 7:28Speaker 2: just did. It feels like you just called me old.
- 7:31Speaker 1: You're 25 years younger than my grandparents. I understand. Don't worry.
- 7:34Speaker 1: But it did trigger me, I will say. I don't know.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Honestly, I can't answer why I've never. Now, when I
- 7:42Speaker 2: get mad, it'll come out. If I get really mad
- 7:46Speaker 2: and screw something up, boom, it's out. I'll never forget
- 7:50Speaker 2: the time my dad, when I would leave my parents'
- 7:54Speaker 2: home down in Florida, I would unplug certain things just
- 7:58Speaker 2: to make, because, you know, it's Tampa Bay is the
- 8:00Speaker 2: lightning capital of the world. And I thought, well, I
- 8:02Speaker 2: don't want to see the house burn down. So I
- 8:04Speaker 2: would unplug stuff. Well, he went down there. This was
- 8:07Speaker 2: after my mom passed away and was trying to watch TV.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And he called me up, Michael, you got to help me.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I can't get this stuff to work. And he got
- 8:16Speaker 2: so mad. He used the F bomb.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Now my dad would cuss and then, Oh yeah, I
- 8:22Speaker 1: started laughing. It made him madder.
- 8:25Speaker 2: And then he called me back like 10 minutes later
- 8:27Speaker 2: and apologized. And, uh, It was the funniest thing. Cause
- 8:32Speaker 2: I've never heard my dad say that, but yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 2: When I, cause I, you know, I was driving into
- 8:37Speaker 2: the studio this morning and here comes a repairman passing
- 8:40Speaker 2: by me. And I thought, I thought to myself, I
- 8:43Speaker 2: wish I could fix stuff.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Same.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I really, I'm envious. Like Josh, one of our listeners,
- 8:50Speaker 2: he fixes old cars. I am envious of him. If
- 8:54Speaker 2: there was anything you could fix and, that you had confidence.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Would it be around the house? Would it be with
- 9:01Speaker 2: a car? Would it be something completely else?
- 9:04Speaker 1: What do you think? I'm going to hit you with
- 9:07Speaker 1: a weird one. Oh, I'd like that even more. Heating
- 9:12Speaker 1: and air conditioning. That's what I was thinking as well.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Because I hate calling somebody to try to figure it
- 9:18Speaker 1: all out. I wish I just knew how to do
- 9:20Speaker 1: it so I could sort it all out myself. Right.
- 9:24Speaker 2: That would be my answer. I am, just like with Josh,
- 9:27Speaker 2: I'm envious of those guys. I had a mechanic that
- 9:30Speaker 2: had all kinds of old Porsches, not just 911s, but
- 9:37Speaker 2: I mean really old ones. And I thought, man, I'm in,
- 9:40Speaker 2: because he was fixing them up himself. I'm envious of that.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I wish I could go buy an old Porsche and
- 9:47Speaker 2: fix it up myself. To me, that would be so
- 9:50Speaker 2: much fun. And it would be very satisfying, too. Oh, absolutely.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I like the guy that cuts my hair. He'll buy stuff,
- 9:57Speaker 2: and then he'll go... Like, he bought this... sprinter van
- 10:00Speaker 2: you know those big mercedes mercedes vans and he redid
- 10:04Speaker 2: the whole thing and fixed it himself there was stuff
- 10:06Speaker 2: wrong with the air conditioning he fixed it there was
- 10:08Speaker 2: stuff wrong with the engine he fixed it he just
- 10:10Speaker 2: michael i get on youtube and i do it it's
- 10:12Speaker 2: like i don't have that kind of nerve and i'm
- 10:15Speaker 2: envious of those people that can do that no doubt
- 10:17Speaker 2: uh yesterday The uncut was released. UK versus LSU.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Why? You didn't? Didn't watch it. Oh, you didn't watch it? Also,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I'm getting really ticked off. I cannot find the booth
- 10:30Speaker 1: video from LSU. Oh, really? Okay. Is that like the
- 10:33Speaker 1: whole video out anywhere?
- 10:35Speaker 2: I think Corey Price texted it to us the other day.
- 10:38Speaker 1: No, he just texted. What he texted us was just
- 10:41Speaker 1: the two-point play. Oh, oh, I see what you're saying.
- 10:44Speaker 1: And every time I've looked for it, all I can
- 10:46Speaker 1: find is the booth view of the two-point play. I
- 10:48Speaker 1: want the whole game. Yeah. I don't think they do
- 10:52Speaker 1: the whole game. They just do certain big plays. They
- 10:54Speaker 1: used to. Oh, they did the entire game? I mean,
- 10:56Speaker 1: not the whole game, but like the big plays. Yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I don't know what happened. I guess they're working so
- 11:01Speaker 2: much on uncut. And I do how they, I love
- 11:05Speaker 2: how they spell that. U-N capital K-U-T.
- 11:11Speaker 1: It's good. By the way. It's 20 minutes long. Whoa. Yeah.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Good thing I didn't see it. I wouldn't have had
- 11:17Speaker 1: time to watch it.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Well, you know, the other part is because I thought
- 11:21Speaker 2: the first couple is that that's getting a little long.
- 11:23Speaker 2: But then yesterday I watched the entire thing and I
- 11:26Speaker 2: wished it was longer. It was so good. It's like
- 11:31Speaker 2: watching a mini movie. And those guys in the video
- 11:35Speaker 2: room that do all this work for UK in the
- 11:38Speaker 2: football team, they just do an it is so professional.
- 11:43Speaker 2: It's just an unbelievable.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Work of art. I mean, the one I have watched
- 11:47Speaker 1: was awesome. Yeah. Well, I will say, Steven Peake, phenomenal work. Oh,
- 11:52Speaker 1: is he the one doing those? No. Oh, okay. He
- 11:54Speaker 1: does his own stuff. Yeah. But he does incredible stuff.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Do you ever watch their, like, road trip recaps? Those
- 12:01Speaker 1: are a lot of fun. What do you mean, road
- 12:03Speaker 1: trip recap? So he, like, he'll video his whole time. Yeah, no,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I've never seen that. You should go watch one of those.
- 12:09Speaker 1: So he'll, like. He'll do a little bit of in-the-car stuff,
- 12:12Speaker 1: and then he'll have a little bit of stuff from
- 12:14Speaker 1: the game, and then he'll have them coming home, and
- 12:17Speaker 1: they're very entertaining.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Okay, well, shout out to Steven Peake, because I love
- 12:20Speaker 2: his stuff. But no offense, the uncut stuff is the
- 12:24Speaker 2: next level. He could do that, too. I think he could,
- 12:28Speaker 2: but this is next level. I'm just going to say
- 12:31Speaker 2: it right now, and it's not a cut on Steven Peake, okay?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Don't take it that way, please. I love your stuff.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I'm complimenting you like crazy, and I want people to
- 12:40Speaker 2: go see your stuff, but the uncut stuff is just
- 12:43Speaker 2: next level.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Well, they probably have a bigger team working.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I realize that, and that's probably why it's next level.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Because Steven's doing all this on his own, isn't he?
- 12:53Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 12:53Speaker 2: And it's just amazing stuff, amazing work that he does.
- 12:58Speaker 2: But the 20 minutes that I watched of Uncut, that's
- 13:01Speaker 2: the entire thing. UK versus LSU was so much fun.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I mean, you've got Will Stein out there dropping all
- 13:10Speaker 2: the F-bombs in the world. You've got Sloan out there
- 13:13Speaker 2: dropping all the F-bombs. Every assistant coach out there is
- 13:16Speaker 2: dropping all of it.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And I'm like, you know what?
- 13:19Speaker 2: I'm fired up. It was just, it was, it's okay
- 13:23Speaker 2: that they're using it. I just, only part I wish
- 13:26Speaker 2: they could bleep it a little because, you know, little
- 13:28Speaker 2: kids want to watch this too.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Oh, they don't bleep it out? No. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Not that I remember they did or not. You figure
- 13:36Speaker 1: they would. Maybe they did. Surely they did. But you
- 13:38Speaker 1: know they're saying it.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I don't know. I have to go back and watch
- 13:41Speaker 1: and see if it was. I would imagine it's bleeped
- 13:43Speaker 1: because you're right. I mean, parents are going to be
- 13:45Speaker 1: watching that with their kids around. Heck, there's kids out
- 13:48Speaker 1: there that probably want to watch it. Yes.
- 13:50Speaker 2: But I'm telling you, I'm going to go watch it again.
- 13:53Speaker 2: They have to be put up for some kind of
- 13:55Speaker 2: award because these guys deserve an award.
- 13:58Speaker 1: For what they do for UK and UK football. It's just,
- 14:02Speaker 1: it's made it so.
- 14:03Speaker 2: And I'm sure a lot of it has to do
- 14:05Speaker 2: with the fact that UK is playing so well and
- 14:08Speaker 2: they're winning. And it's all new as far as the players,
- 14:13Speaker 2: coaching staff, everything across the board.
- 14:15Speaker 1: And it's so new. You want that shiny little toy
- 14:17Speaker 1: to just be that shiny little toy. Yeah. And I mean,
- 14:21Speaker 1: I'm hopefully you can you continue to feel this way
- 14:24Speaker 1: for the next two and a half years like I have,
- 14:26Speaker 1: because I know I'm still at the point with Indiana
- 14:30Speaker 1: where I try to seek out everything I can. Like
- 14:33Speaker 1: I watch every video that comes out after the game,
- 14:36Speaker 1: before the game, middle of the week. Like I just
- 14:38Speaker 1: want all the Indiana stuff I can consume. Yes. And
- 14:42Speaker 1: that's how you all are getting with having a good product. Oh, yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I mean, I can't imagine if UK wins this weekend.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Of course, we're going to talk a lot about this
- 14:52Speaker 2: game the next two hours. And we're going to talk
- 14:54Speaker 2: about basketball as well. But I can't imagine if UK
- 14:57Speaker 2: goes tomorrow and wins at Oklahoma, what? The fandom, how
- 15:03Speaker 2: it's going to increase with UK football. And I'm telling you,
- 15:07Speaker 2: there are a lot of people outside of UK that
- 15:10Speaker 2: are rooting for UK. Just because you always like the
- 15:12Speaker 2: little guy.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Yeah. And I'm sure Indiana has experienced that too. For sure.
- 15:16Speaker 1: And how long does that last? One year? I'd say
- 15:21Speaker 1: Indiana's just now getting to the point where people are
- 15:24Speaker 1: tired of us. So I'd say about two and a half. Yeah. Oh,
- 15:29Speaker 1: two and a half years? Okay. All right.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Well, people are so excited. not just within the fan base,
- 15:34Speaker 2: but outside the fan base. I was talking to a
- 15:37Speaker 2: guy the other day. I think I told you he
- 15:40Speaker 2: was a big social media guy, influencer. He wants to
- 15:45Speaker 2: get involved with UK, so he reached out to me
- 15:48Speaker 2: and asked if I could help him.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Griffin Johnson, do you remember that name? Nope. You don't? Okay.
- 15:53Speaker 2: He's got like 15 million followers between TikTok and Instagram.
- 15:59Speaker 2: So he called me Wednesday and And asked because he's
- 16:04Speaker 2: also very involved in horse racing. And Dale Romans told
- 16:08Speaker 2: him that, hey, you need to talk to Michael Bennett.
- 16:10Speaker 2: He'll help you out. And I reached out to UK.
- 16:13Speaker 2: UK's very interested in talking to him and see about
- 16:16Speaker 2: getting content with this guy to help make UK even
- 16:20Speaker 2: more well-known. Can you imagine having 15 million followers?
- 16:25Speaker 1: No. Look him up. We're going to take a break,
- 16:27Speaker 1: but look him up. Yeah, Griffin, G-R-I-F-F-E-N Johnson. Got a
- 16:33Speaker 1: picture with Sandman.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Oh, exactly, because he was part owner of Sandman with
- 16:38Speaker 2: West Point Thoroughbreds. So, yeah, really nice young man.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Wasn't that Jason Wertz horse? No. Who was Jason Wertz?
- 16:46Speaker 1: I forgot. I thought Sandman. Doorknock. Doorknock, that's right. Yeah, Doorknock.
- 16:49Speaker 1: But anyway, yeah, look him up.
- 16:51Speaker 2: We'll talk about him in a couple of minutes, but
- 16:52Speaker 2: he wants to get involved with UK and he's already
- 16:55Speaker 2: met Mark Pope and his daughters and his daughters knew
- 16:57Speaker 2: exactly who he was. And I said, I told Griffin,
- 17:01Speaker 2: I said, Griffin, I'm so sorry. I don't know who
- 17:04Speaker 2: you are. How many followers do you have? He goes, Michael,
- 17:08Speaker 2: if you'd have known who I was, I'd be scared.
- 17:10Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, fair enough.
- 17:12Speaker 2: It must be like college age and high school age
- 17:15Speaker 2: and younger that follow him like crazy.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:18Speaker 2: So he's from Illinois, southern Illinois. I think an hour,
- 17:21Speaker 2: what he said, an hour outside of Evansville. So not
- 17:23Speaker 2: too terribly far from here. But he lives in Miami now.
- 17:26Speaker 2: But he's becoming a huge U.K.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Fan. Because, partly because of the football. And he wants
- 17:31Speaker 1: to be, he loves the history of U.K. basketball. So, anyway.
- 17:34Speaker 1: All right, we got... a lot more segments to go.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So tune in. Five to be exact. Okay, five. Okay, good.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Well, if you want to watch us on YouTube channel,
- 17:44Speaker 2: you can do that. Go to YouTube and look up
- 17:46Speaker 2: Big X Sports Radio Louisville. You can text me on

- 17:55Speaker 2: if you want and talk about the games we got going.

- 18:02Speaker 1: Stay right there.
- 18:03Speaker 2: We got a lot more. As Justin just said, Five
- 18:06Speaker 2: more segments of Just the Cats on this Friday. Come
- 18:09Speaker 2: have fun with us. Stay right there. This is Just

- 18:15Speaker 5: Just the Cats. Easy come, easy go.
- 18:30Speaker 1: That's just how you live. Oh, take, take, take it all,
- 18:34Speaker 1: but you never give.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Should have known you was trouble from the first kiss.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Had your eyes wide open. Why were they open? Gave
- 18:45Speaker 1: you all I had and you tossed it in the trash.
- 18:49Speaker 1: You tossed it in the trash.
- 18:50Speaker 2: 5 0 2 3 4 14 50. You want to
- 18:52Speaker 2: call in 5 0 2 4 1.
- 18:53Speaker 1: 4 14 50.
- 18:53Speaker 2: You want to text in on the whiskey thief sex
- 18:56Speaker 2: line or you tweet me at just the cat radio.
- 18:58Speaker 1: So let's get into it.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Kentucky football has a chance to do something special this weekend.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Justin.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:04Speaker 2: The cats are five and one they're ranked 15th in
- 19:06Speaker 2: the country and they've just knocked off LSU in another
- 19:10Speaker 2: heart stopping finish. Now comes Oklahoma. A program with a
- 19:18Speaker 2: tremendous football tradition. I mean, I think we can all
- 19:21Speaker 2: admit that. That's just beat number one Texas. But here's
- 19:25Speaker 2: the question. Is Oklahoma really the better team, or are
- 19:29Speaker 2: we giving the Sooners too much credit because of the
- 19:32Speaker 2: name on the jersey?
- 19:34Speaker 1: We're giving Oklahoma too much credit because of that win
- 19:36Speaker 1: over Texas. Yes. Is what we're doing. See, I think so, too.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Oklahoma's defense is legitimate. Its offense, though, has been inconsistent.
- 19:48Speaker 1: To say the least. Yes.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Kentucky has a running game that can control the clock,
- 19:53Speaker 2: and the Wildcats are playing with confidence, without a doubt.
- 19:57Speaker 2: The challenge is doing... And on the road, Norman. Of course,
- 20:00Speaker 2: here we go again. All the way back to another
- 20:03Speaker 2: away game. But can Kentucky make it three straight statement wins?
- 20:07Speaker 2: Or does Oklahoma remind everybody that winning in the SEC
- 20:10Speaker 2: is a different animal? That's what we're going to find
- 20:13Speaker 2: out tomorrow night.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I just, I don't know. Nothing about this Oklahoma team
- 20:17Speaker 1: scares me.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Really?
- 20:19Speaker 1: They put up 51 points against UTEP in the opening week.
- 20:24Speaker 1: So that's a good result, but it's UTEP. Then your
- 20:27Speaker 1: next four games, you score 10, 14, 13, and 27.
- 20:33Speaker 1: That doesn't feel like a high-powered offense that's going to
- 20:38Speaker 1: come into that game and have a lot of success tomorrow. Well,
- 20:41Speaker 1: here's the difference, too, because, you know, their defense, Oklahoma
- 20:46Speaker 1: is the one that scored two touchdowns for them last
- 20:48Speaker 1: weekend over the win. The offense only scored one.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 2: That's a, that's a big deal. And in fact, Brent
- 20:56Speaker 2: Venables has, has even considered benching their quarterback.
- 21:01Speaker 1: What's his name? John Mateer. Mateer. Thank you.
- 21:05Speaker 2: He's even considered doing that. So, I mean, I don't
- 21:09Speaker 2: think that'll happen. I don't think it'll happen either, but if, well,
- 21:13Speaker 2: I don't know if he doesn't play well this weekend,
- 21:15Speaker 2: you wouldn't bench him.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I know. No, I wouldn't. Okay. I mean, maybe they
- 21:22Speaker 1: have a better option behind him, but I don't know.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I wouldn't think they do. I don't know what their
- 21:28Speaker 1: options are. Okay. They've got a 6'6 sophomore. Whit Neubauer.
- 21:36Speaker 1: That's the backup quarterback? I don't know who the backup is.
- 21:38Speaker 1: They've got four quarterbacks. But 6'6 sophomore? That's who I'd
- 21:42Speaker 1: probably throw in there. Wow.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Yeah, the other two are freshmen. Probably would be the backup.
- 21:48Speaker 2: They have Oklahoma. Their fan base has championship expectations. So,
- 21:54Speaker 2: you know, you just come off that number one win.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Here's what I'm hoping for. It's going to be a
- 22:00Speaker 2: letdown for them. Now, you know, both teams are coming
- 22:04Speaker 2: off a huge win. I mean, we can't sit here
- 22:07Speaker 2: and think UK's not coming off a big win.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Yeah, they are. You know their last national championship? Is
- 22:18Speaker 1: it back in the eighties? No, I mean, it's in
- 22:20Speaker 1: this century. I don't, I really don't know.
- 22:23Speaker 5: 2000.
- 22:23Speaker 1: So it's been 26 years. Wow. So I think that
- 22:28Speaker 1: statement about national championship expectations, that's like saying Indiana basketball
- 22:33Speaker 1: has national championship expectations. Yeah.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I get what you're saying. Cause most kids don't remember
- 22:38Speaker 2: Oklahoma being that big of a powerhouse.
- 22:40Speaker 1: No, but I do. You do. So I don't know,
- 22:45Speaker 1: but I mean, it's, Yeah.
- 22:48Speaker 2: They had a block punt last weekend and an INT
- 22:51Speaker 2: that was returned for a 42-yard touchdown. So that's how
- 22:55Speaker 2: they scored their points. So what does that tell you?
- 22:58Speaker 1: That the game plan this week is going to be
- 23:01Speaker 1: the exact same as it was last week. It'll probably
- 23:04Speaker 1: be the exact same as it is in weeks moving forward.
- 23:06Speaker 1: You've got to take care of the football. Yeah. You've
- 23:09Speaker 1: got to take care of the football, and you've got
- 23:11Speaker 1: to force a couple turnovers. It really is. For this
- 23:15Speaker 1: Kentucky team and what I've seen out of them so
- 23:17Speaker 1: far this season, really is that simple.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Well, I'd totally forgotten this. You know, they were 2-2
- 23:21Speaker 2: going into that game with Texas. So I'm kind of
- 23:25Speaker 2: glad they won that game because now they're 3-2. You
- 23:28Speaker 2: wouldn't want them coming off a loss. No, exactly. Now
- 23:31Speaker 2: you look at it. Remember, they lost to Michigan. I
- 23:34Speaker 2: had completely forgotten that. So they've lost to Michigan, and
- 23:38Speaker 2: they've lost to Georgia. And so, yeah, and Venable has
- 23:43Speaker 2: discussed– Finching John Mateer, which really surprised me. But when
- 23:49Speaker 2: you're not scoring, first person to go is always the quarterback.
- 23:55Speaker 1: So who in their right mind would have thought coming
- 23:58Speaker 1: into this season that you would look at this Oklahoma
- 24:01Speaker 1: schedule and think, man, they play at Georgia versus Texas
- 24:05Speaker 1: versus Kentucky and at Mississippi State? That's a brutal four-game stretch. Yeah, exactly.
- 24:11Speaker 1: But here we are. Here we are.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I'm laughing because it is crazy talk to me to
- 24:18Speaker 2: hear you even say that. I just want you to know,
- 24:21Speaker 2: here's the other thing Brent Venables has said this week.
- 24:24Speaker 2: He said, UK is the best offensive line the Sooners
- 24:27Speaker 2: has faced.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Yep. Is that coach talk.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Or is that the truth? I think he knows that's
- 24:32Speaker 2: the truth. That's another thing I never dreamed that would
- 24:35Speaker 2: be coming out. Forget it being Brent Venables of any
- 24:40Speaker 2: coach this year. I didn't know what to expect. And truly,
- 24:45Speaker 2: I'm giddy. Before this game, because it's hitting hard today.
- 24:50Speaker 2: It hit hard last night, and it's hitting hard today.
- 24:54Speaker 2: The fact that national media is talking about UK. National
- 24:59Speaker 2: media is talking about UK in the college football playoffs.
- 25:02Speaker 2: And national media is talking about UK and the success
- 25:05Speaker 2: they're having.
- 25:06Speaker 1: And now they're betting on UK. Mm-hmm. So, I don't know.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Is the roller coaster going to be over because of
- 25:13Speaker 2: the fact that, well, we're going to come back down
- 25:15Speaker 2: to earth if we lose this game? UK, they win
- 25:18Speaker 2: this game. They are, I wouldn't say, top 10.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Yet.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I think they would come down probably 11, 12. Depends
- 25:31Speaker 2: on what everyone else does.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I get that. There are, did you know there's six
- 25:35Speaker 1: ranked matchups this weekend? Is there really?
- 25:37Speaker 5: Six.
- 25:39Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I didn't realize it was six. Okay, let's go through.
- 25:46Speaker 2: So I know Texas is playing Florida.
- 25:50Speaker 1: That's not one of them. No. You've got LSU and
- 25:53Speaker 1: Mississippi State. There's one. Yeah. Who are you picking for
- 25:57Speaker 1: that game? LSU. Are you really? Yeah.
- 26:00Speaker 2: LSU in a big way. Yeah, poor Mississippi State. I
- 26:02Speaker 2: think they're going to get thumped. Texas A & M
- 26:05Speaker 2: is playing nobody. They're playing Citadel. You got, oh, I
- 26:08Speaker 2: think this is a really good matchup. Missouri, number 13,
- 26:12Speaker 2: playing number nine, Ole Miss. So, I brought this one
- 26:17Speaker 2: up on my show.
- 26:18Speaker 1: All right. It says, see if you can figure this
- 26:21Speaker 1: out with me. And I can go to my DraftKings
- 26:23Speaker 1: and figure it out. But on the ESPN website, it
- 26:26Speaker 1: says where it gives the spread, MISS minus five and
- 26:31Speaker 1: a half. That could be either team. Oh, it really
- 26:35Speaker 1: could be. Whoa. So I'm assuming it's Ole Miss, but
- 26:42Speaker 1: M-I-S-S applies to both. No, I think there is. It
- 26:48Speaker 1: would be M-I-Z if it was Missouri, I think. Well,
- 26:51Speaker 1: I mean, so they're picking who to win? Ole Miss.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Okay, okay, that should be the way it is, yeah.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I think with Missouri, I think you're right, it would
- 27:00Speaker 2: be M-I-Z-Z, or they would put it. Because the abbreviation
- 27:04Speaker 2: for Missouri is M-O, isn't it? The state abbreviation. Yeah,
- 27:08Speaker 2: the state abbreviation. So, yeah, that's, oh, boy, that would
- 27:12Speaker 2: be really confusing.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Hey, I looked at that this morning, and I was like, well,
- 27:16Speaker 1: who's the favorite? I can't figure it out.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Yeah. Georgia, they're playing Auburn, and that's in Athens. That's
- 27:22Speaker 2: going to be a thumping.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yep.
- 27:24Speaker 2: You got Tennessee, number 14, playing number six, Alabama in Knoxville.
- 27:29Speaker 2: That's going to be an interesting game, but I think
- 27:31Speaker 2: Alabama handles it with ease. I don't think that game
- 27:34Speaker 2: will be close. That's the ABC 330 game.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I didn't think the Tennessee-Texas game would be close, and
- 27:40Speaker 1: Tennessee almost won it. But then again... How good's Texas?
- 27:45Speaker 1: That's the thing with the SEC is you all just
- 27:47Speaker 1: keep beating the hell out of each other, and you
- 27:49Speaker 1: don't know who's actually good.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Well, that's the part that a lot of the SEC
- 27:54Speaker 2: coaches are criticizing, and fan bases, and you name it.
- 27:58Speaker 2: They're criticizing Greg Sankey for forcing this nine-game in-conference schedule.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Because all we do is beat each other up. And
- 28:07Speaker 2: then when it's time to go outside the conference, you know, well,
- 28:10Speaker 2: we got to survive the rankings because we keep losing
- 28:13Speaker 2: to each other.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I mean, the only one that's been able to avoid
- 28:17Speaker 1: that for the last handful of years has been Georgia. Yeah, exactly.
- 28:20Speaker 1: It is Georgia.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Texas to a degree with the last couple of years
- 28:25Speaker 2: they've been in. But Georgia has survived without a doubt.
- 28:30Speaker 2: And because Alabama's looking at this, it's like, okay, I
- 28:34Speaker 2: need to catch my breath. If you want us to
- 28:36Speaker 2: stay at the top towards and make the college football playoffs,
- 28:40Speaker 2: we can't continue to play against each other because nobody
- 28:43Speaker 2: predicted Kentucky. Nobody predicted Mississippi State to be as good
- 28:47Speaker 2: as they are. And it's just somehow you think that
- 28:52Speaker 2: Greg Sankey will take it back and say, okay, let's
- 28:54Speaker 2: only play eight games. Or you think nine games is
- 28:58Speaker 2: here to stay.
- 28:58Speaker 1: It's here to stay. Is it really? He can't go backwards.
- 29:03Speaker 2: All right, then maybe the fact that they're leaning towards
- 29:06Speaker 2: the 24-team playoff, that will benefit the SEC.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I'm sure it will.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Because at that point in time, do you get a
- 29:16Speaker 2: team in there with three losses? Oh, with 24?
- 29:20Speaker 1: Absolutely. Yeah, I think so too. Absolutely. By the way,
- 29:23Speaker 1: if Alabama wins this game tomorrow, they're not losing another game.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't know who the rest of the players are.
- 29:30Speaker 1: They host Texas A & M. They're at LSU. That
- 29:33Speaker 1: could maybe provide a few issues, but I don't see
- 29:36Speaker 1: Alabama losing that game. Then they're at Vanderbilt versus Chattanooga.
- 29:40Speaker 1: versus Auburn. So they don't lose another game if they
- 29:43Speaker 1: beat Tennessee. Yeah, I'm right there with you. But I'm
- 29:45Speaker 1: going to tell you right now, who did you say
- 29:47Speaker 1: you don't have a problem with? LSU. Where is that game,
- 29:51Speaker 1: by the way? At LSU. And that might be a
- 29:54Speaker 1: night game.
- 29:55Speaker 2: It probably will be. Which makes it tougher. I would
- 29:58Speaker 2: not count out LSU from that game. In fact, I'll
- 30:01Speaker 2: be rooting for LSU for that game. I just never
- 30:04Speaker 2: liked Alabama. I guess maybe a little jealousy just because
- 30:07Speaker 2: they win all the time. Anyway, yeah, I was never
- 30:10Speaker 2: a Saban fan. I was never even a Bear Bryant fan.
- 30:14Speaker 1: By the way, I read a story yesterday about Nick
- 30:18Speaker 1: Saban when he first got to Alabama. Yeah. And he
- 30:20Speaker 1: walked into this gas station, and he was wearing one
- 30:23Speaker 1: of his LSU championship rings. And the gas station attendant,
- 30:27Speaker 1: I guess he didn't realize it was Saban. And so
- 30:29Speaker 1: he asked about the ring, and Saban said, this is
- 30:33Speaker 1: my championship ring from LSU. And the guy goes... Yeah,
- 30:39Speaker 1: we're not going to win one of those at Alabama
- 30:41Speaker 1: as long as Saban's here. Whoa. To his face. And
- 30:45Speaker 1: then he went on to win six championships. Wow.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Well, I mean, isn't it interesting, though, that Saban left LSU,
- 30:55Speaker 2: goes to the Dolphins, and doesn't do well there. And
- 30:59Speaker 2: yet he goes to Alabama and just kills it. What
- 31:01Speaker 2: is the difference between college coaching and NFL coaching? I mean,
- 31:05Speaker 2: some guys just can't make that transition.
- 31:07Speaker 1: For whatever reason. I don't get it.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I really don't get it, because I'm not going to
- 31:11Speaker 2: sit here and say he's a bad coach. He was
- 31:14Speaker 2: clearly a very good coach.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I mean, it's like Cal. I would say the same
- 31:18Speaker 1: about him. Cal's a good coach, but... Didn't do well
- 31:21Speaker 1: in the NBA. Same thing.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Rick Pitino, same thing. I guess Rick had a little success.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Turn off the YouTube while you say that about Cal.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I don't want to make any kind of facial expression
- 31:31Speaker 2: and people watch. Listen, I will always— If you're not
- 31:36Speaker 2: man enough to say Cal's a good coach, that's.
- 31:37Speaker 1: A you problem. I don't think he's a good coach. Well, okay,
- 31:41Speaker 1: he's an okay coach.
- 31:43Speaker 2: I just think he's the greatest recruiter out there today.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. I just don't think he's a very good coach.
- 31:52Speaker 2: You know, every time he gets up on stage like
- 31:55Speaker 2: he did the SEC media days yesterday down in Birmingham
- 31:58Speaker 2: and says, I look in this audience and most of
- 32:01Speaker 2: you don't know basketball. And I'm thinking, well, neither do you, buddy.
- 32:04Speaker 2: That's what I think. It's not a knock. It's my
- 32:09Speaker 2: reality coming out. I don't think you know basketball that
- 32:12Speaker 2: well either. It comes across as mean.
- 32:16Speaker 1: I don't mean it to be. But, yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 2: So, all right, we got to take another break. Well,
- 32:21Speaker 2: when we come back, we'll get to your text messages.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Kind of slow today. I want to hear some text messages.
- 32:25Speaker 2: This is a big weekend. We got basketball happening tonight.
- 32:28Speaker 2: We got football happening tomorrow. I'm looking forward to both.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Believe it or not, I am looking forward to both.
- 32:32Speaker 2: We're going to talk more football, though, right now. We'll
- 32:35Speaker 2: get to the basketball in a little bit. So stay
- 32:37Speaker 2: right there. If you want to join us, 502-414-1450 on
- 32:38Speaker 2: the Whiskey Thief text line. Give me all your love,
- 32:40Speaker 2: it's all I ever need.
- 32:47Speaker 5: Understand as i catch a grenade.
- 33:07Speaker 3: You don't know how you met me you don't know
- 33:10Speaker 3: why you can't turn around and say goodbye all you
- 33:16Speaker 3: know is when i'm with you i make you free
- 33:20Speaker 3: and swim through your veins like a fish in the
- 33:24Speaker 3: sea i'm singing follow me everything is.
- 33:28Speaker 1: All right i'll be the one to tuck you in
- 33:32Speaker 1: at night and.
- 33:34Speaker 3: If you want to leave i can guarantee you won't
- 33:39Speaker 3: find nobody else like me 502-384-1450 you want to call.
- 33:42Speaker 2: 502-414-1450 you want to text in on the whiskey thief
- 33:44Speaker 2: text line uh so 48 handley said the oldest woman
- 33:46Speaker 2: in history to have a baby was sarah Wife of Abraham,
- 33:55Speaker 2: don't bother checking Google. It's not even close. Love that
- 34:01Speaker 2: you brought Griffin Johnson up. I watched on Facebook last
- 34:05Speaker 2: year as the girls were oohing and aahing over Sandman.
- 34:10Speaker 2: He was so beautiful when, in fact, Sandman was a
- 34:14Speaker 2: B-lister who needed a class drop.
- 34:18Speaker 1: The beautiful one.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Of course, was Johnson, of course, was Johnson, who's near
- 34:24Speaker 2: movie star, handsome, hilarious. I'm sure Johnson's going to make
- 34:28Speaker 2: a lot of money. Wished I'd bought him at the
- 34:31Speaker 2: yearling sale. Couldn't afford him now. So now that somebody
- 34:34Speaker 2: else said it, I'll join in as well.
- 34:36Speaker 1: He is handsome. Griffin Johnson. Yeah.
- 34:39Speaker 2: And you know, the part I like, he's really a
- 34:42Speaker 2: nice guy. So, and the fact that when I said,
- 34:46Speaker 2: I'm so sorry that I don't know who you are,
- 34:48Speaker 2: he just laughed. He said, no, I would be scared
- 34:52Speaker 2: if you knew who I was.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Is that calling you old or what? Why would that
- 34:56Speaker 1: scare him? I mean, if the dude's got 15 million followers,
- 34:59Speaker 1: why would he be scared if you knew who he was?
- 35:01Speaker 1: I don't know. I think he's calling you old. Well,
- 35:03Speaker 1: maybe he is calling me old. Maybe I won't help
- 35:05Speaker 1: him then. You shouldn't be on TikTok, old man. Oh, really?
- 35:08Speaker 1: I shouldn't be on TikTok. Really? I know what you're saying.
- 35:12Speaker 1: With his response, that's what I felt like he was saying. Yeah.
- 35:15Speaker 1: I might need to correct him a little bit. So
- 35:18Speaker 1: tell him I'm probably younger in my mind than he
- 35:21Speaker 1: is at all. But yeah. Yeah. We'll see. I mean,
- 35:26Speaker 1: John here.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Michael, you were right when you said the excitement for
- 35:30Speaker 2: our basketball cats is to see how they come together,
- 35:35Speaker 2: you are exactly right. We know when we are comfortable,
- 35:39Speaker 2: but what does that comfort look like? Tonight, we start
- 35:45Speaker 2: the process to learn that. Also, our football cats kept
- 35:48Speaker 2: the winning going by 12 big ones. Man, that's 12.
- 35:58Speaker 1: He likes cats by 12. So the... The spread, is
- 36:02Speaker 1: it still six and a half? It is. And I
- 36:05Speaker 1: still don't understand why. I feel like there's got to
- 36:08Speaker 1: be something that we're missing. Yeah, because Las Vegas has
- 36:13Speaker 1: lost to UK this year. They've lost to them with
- 36:16Speaker 1: Texas A & M. Now, they won with Alabama, but
- 36:19Speaker 1: they lost with Texas A & M. They lost with LSU.
- 36:22Speaker 1: And South Carolina. And South.
- 36:23Speaker 2: That's right. So three games in a row, Las Vegas
- 36:27Speaker 2: has lost to UK. I'm just kind of surprised by that.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Um, I I'm telling you right now, I'm going to
- 36:34Speaker 1: be on the cat. I don't know what to feel.
- 36:38Speaker 2: We'll talk about more towards the end of the show,
- 36:40Speaker 2: but I, I, if I'm completely honest, I don't know
- 36:44Speaker 2: what to feel. Um, cause I feel like, cause part
- 36:48Speaker 2: of me says UK is more talented than Oklahoma, but
- 36:52Speaker 2: I haven't really watched Oklahoma. When I hear and read
- 36:55Speaker 2: that their offense is really not that good, and here
- 36:58Speaker 2: we go again, because this is the one thing. The
- 37:02Speaker 2: Sooners rank as one of the best defenses in the country.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Didn't we just hear that with Texas A & M?
- 37:09Speaker 2: And we had no problem. The Sooners have only allowed
- 37:12Speaker 2: about 150 passing yards per game.
- 37:16Speaker 1: That's right up Kenny Menchie's alley. I mean, that's all
- 37:19Speaker 1: he's really throwing for anyway. And have only allowed four
- 37:22Speaker 1: passing TDs through five games. But you don't need pass.
- 37:25Speaker 1: When you got the running attack that you do, you
- 37:27Speaker 1: don't need pass. Well, that's if we have the running attack.
- 37:30Speaker 1: You'll have some of it.
- 37:32Speaker 2: What do you think? Do you think CJ is going
- 37:34Speaker 2: to play? CJ Baxter is questionable. Do you think he's
- 37:38Speaker 2: playing or do you think, uh, cause don't you believe
- 37:41Speaker 2: that a lot of coaches, I would have to guess
- 37:44Speaker 2: that like Eli Drinkwood's and or Lane Kiffin would put
- 37:48Speaker 2: some questionable players up there just to put some up
- 37:51Speaker 2: there when they're actually fine.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, it's a mind game. Yeah. That's what
- 37:55Speaker 1: I think. CJ Baxter's playing. Yeah. As someone who played
- 37:59Speaker 1: for Texas, uh, And that disdain he's likely got for Oklahoma,
- 38:03Speaker 1: he's playing. I hope so.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Because that's the one player I want in the worst way.
- 38:08Speaker 2: I'm sure Jason Patterson will be there. I mean, who's
- 38:11Speaker 2: the other one? Javante Barnes? He'll probably play some, too.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Just keep it fresh. I mean, keep those players coming
- 38:18Speaker 2: in and out. Just like John Schlarman used to do.
- 38:22Speaker 2: The offensive line, that's how he built the big blue wall.
- 38:25Speaker 2: They didn't care if they started or not. They knew
- 38:27Speaker 2: they were going to get their minutes out there on
- 38:28Speaker 2: the field. He just kept flipping them back and forth,
- 38:30Speaker 2: flipping them back and forth. And I'm hoping they get
- 38:32Speaker 2: to the point with UK as well. But this offensive
- 38:35Speaker 2: line is spectacular.
- 38:37Speaker 1: So....
- 38:39Speaker 2: Now, can Oklahoma's offense keep up? That's the question right there.
- 38:44Speaker 2: The Sooners' offense has been really inconsistent this entire year. Now, granted,
- 38:50Speaker 2: they're averaging 23 points per game, but last week versus Texas,
- 38:54Speaker 2: like I mentioned earlier, they needed the defense because the
- 38:58Speaker 2: offense only scored one touchdown.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but if you take out that week one win
- 39:03Speaker 1: against UTEP, they're averaging less than 20 a game. Yeah,
- 39:08Speaker 1: that's very true. I mean, when you're playing competent teams,
- 39:12Speaker 1: they're not scoring.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Can UK, their run game, establish a run game against
- 39:21Speaker 2: Oklahoma's defense?
- 39:23Speaker 1: If not, that's the one area where maybe I could
- 39:26Speaker 1: see this game being problematic because then you'd have to
- 39:29Speaker 1: rely on Minchie more, which I believe in Minchie, and
- 39:32Speaker 1: I believe he's been a great game manager up to
- 39:35Speaker 1: this point. He takes care of the ball, doesn't throw
- 39:37Speaker 1: it around all loosey-goosey. But if you force him into
- 39:40Speaker 1: a position where he's got to throw it 40 times
- 39:43Speaker 1: a game, I don't know that I particularly like that.
- 39:46Speaker 2: If UK wins, can this put Venables on the hot
- 39:50Speaker 2: seat at Oklahoma?
- 39:53Speaker 1: I would say. I don't know. How long has he
- 39:54Speaker 1: been there? Is this his, like, third or fourth season?
- 39:59Speaker 1: I don't know how long he's been there. I don't know.
- 40:02Speaker 1: I mean, at some point, you've got to have loyalty
- 40:07Speaker 1: with these coaches, and I don't know. I wouldn't see him.
- 40:10Speaker 1: But this will put, if UK wins, this definitely puts
- 40:15Speaker 1: UK as a SEC contender. That's fair to say, isn't it? Oh, yeah.
- 40:19Speaker 1: And a college football contender for that fact. Yep.
- 40:23Speaker 2: And now it doesn't get easier because, you know, what
- 40:27Speaker 2: bothers me is that we continue to have these really
- 40:30Speaker 2: tough games on the road. And I consider Oklahoma a
- 40:33Speaker 2: tough game.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 40:34Speaker 2: They're not ranked, but they just beat the number one
- 40:37Speaker 2: team in the nation. But my confidence is getting to
- 40:41Speaker 2: the point where I believe in UK and I believe
- 40:44Speaker 2: in their.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Players.
- 40:48Speaker 2: You have no reason not to. Their athleticism. The fact
- 40:52Speaker 2: that they can be a team to reckon with whomever
- 40:55Speaker 2: they play with. Now, a team I would be worried
- 40:58Speaker 2: about playing. Yeah, I'd be worried about playing Alabama again.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Of course I would be. Georgia, the other team that
- 41:04Speaker 2: we're not even playing this year. I would be worried
- 41:06Speaker 2: about that game. You should be. They're amazing.
- 41:10Speaker 1: What would the state of Kentucky and Big Blue Nation
- 41:13Speaker 1: do to host a college football playoff game, though? I mean,
- 41:18Speaker 1: what that would do to this entire fan base. It
- 41:22Speaker 1: would be the toughest ticket in the world. I'm just
- 41:24Speaker 1: telling you. It would be one of the toughest tickets
- 41:26Speaker 1: out there. Could host a playoff game before Indiana does. Yeah.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Does UK have to win this game to prove the
- 41:34Speaker 2: Cats belong where they are right now? Or do you
- 41:38Speaker 2: think the media and everybody outside of Kentucky is starting
- 41:41Speaker 2: to buy in on Kentucky?
- 41:44Speaker 1: It feels like everybody's starting to buy in, but if
- 41:46Speaker 1: you lose this game, say by 7, 10 points, you're
- 41:51Speaker 1: probably going to drop down into the low 20s. I
- 41:55Speaker 1: don't imagine it'll drop out of the top 25, but
- 41:57Speaker 1: you'll drop down to the low 20s if you win.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Like we talked about, you'll only move up to probably 12,
- 42:03Speaker 1: if I had to guess. Right. So it does feel
- 42:07Speaker 1: like everybody's buying in. But I don't think this is
- 42:11Speaker 1: a game that you have to win from a standpoint
- 42:13Speaker 1: of telling the media that, hey, we're going to win.
- 42:16Speaker 1: But to stay in the college football playoff, they have
- 42:18Speaker 1: to win this game. Feels like it. Yeah.
- 42:20Speaker 2: No, I'm pretty confident of that because now then you've
- 42:23Speaker 2: got Vanderbilt, which should be a win. But, again, you
- 42:27Speaker 2: go to Missouri, you go to Knoxville, and wouldn't that
- 42:32Speaker 2: be something if you had two losses? Because out of
- 42:37Speaker 2: those games, I just have a hard time believing. I
- 42:40Speaker 2: think we should beat Oklahoma. It's going to be tough.
- 42:44Speaker 2: I think we should beat Vanderbilt, but it's going to
- 42:46Speaker 2: be tough to win at Tennessee or at Missouri. You've
- 42:52Speaker 2: got to come away with one of those wins. All right,
- 42:56Speaker 2: so here's what I think. You've got to win at Oklahoma.
- 42:58Speaker 2: You've got to win Vanderbilt. And then you have to
- 43:00Speaker 2: come away from the Missouri and Tennessee.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Game with one win.
- 43:06Speaker 2: And obviously a win over Florida. Well, I think we
- 43:10Speaker 2: should win in Lexington versus Florida. But then you got UofL.
- 43:16Speaker 2: So if you go in with two losses, now UofL
- 43:19Speaker 2: is motivated.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. And that makes that.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Game completely different at this point. By the way, did
- 43:26Speaker 2: you see where another big player has decommitted?
- 43:30Speaker 1: Are you serious? Yeah. Is that Trinity player? Yeah, we
- 43:33Speaker 1: talked about it. Oh, did we talk? Okay. Yeah. That's
- 43:37Speaker 1: still amazing to me. Yeah. All right.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Let me get to a couple more texts before we
- 43:41Speaker 2: have to take a break. McScoot playing that UK music.
- 43:48Speaker 2: By that, I mean Uncle Cracker.
- 43:50Speaker 1: That's right. What's wrong with Uncle Cracker? No, it's UK. Yeah.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Uncle Cracker. Uncle Cracker is UK music. Oh, I get it.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Uncle Cracker. Okay. That's pretty good, McScoot. Why is he
- 44:04Speaker 1: calling you McScoot? I have no idea, but I'm here
- 44:06Speaker 1: for it.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Okay.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 44:07Speaker 2: One person said, believe me, I know the fallacy of
- 44:09Speaker 2: comparative scores, but Oklahoma beat Texas who beat Ohio State.
- 44:14Speaker 1: That is a great point. Who lost to Indiana tomorrow.
- 44:19Speaker 1: That's going to be a fun game for you. It is.
- 44:21Speaker 1: And the game is the games in Bloomington. It is. Yeah.
- 44:24Speaker 1: That's going to be tough. It's going to be awesome. Yeah.
- 44:27Speaker 1: But it'll be tough, but it'll be a lot of fun. Yeah.
- 44:29Speaker 1: And you walk into this game with confidence, don't you? Absolutely.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Why wouldn't I? Last time we played them, we beat them.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I'm right there with you, and you should. But why
- 44:38Speaker 2: wouldn't you?
- 44:39Speaker 1: If it's at Ohio State, I'm a little bit more
- 44:42Speaker 1: worried than I am right now. But with it being
- 44:45Speaker 1: in Bloomington, that should be it. What does Bloomington seat,
- 44:48Speaker 1: by the way, their football stadium? Great question. It's okay.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. Is it bigger than UK now?
- 44:54Speaker 2: I just wonder if they're going to regret making– I
- 44:58Speaker 2: talked about this earlier this week. If they regret– Making
- 45:03Speaker 2: Commonwealth Stadium smaller.
- 45:04Speaker 1: It's only 53.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Okay, I was going to say, I thought Commonwealth was bigger.
- 45:08Speaker 2: But I just wonder if Indiana continues to have success,
- 45:12Speaker 2: UK continues to have success, will they look at possibly
- 45:16Speaker 2: making it bigger again?
- 45:17Speaker 1: I don't know. It'd be one of those things to
- 45:20Speaker 1: find out. So kickoff, as we all know, is going
- 45:23Speaker 1: to be at 7.30 tomorrow night. on the SEC Network.
- 45:26Speaker 1: So we'll talk.
- 45:27Speaker 2: More about it. If you want to talk about it,
- 45:29Speaker 2: we're going to talk about it. But when we come back,
- 45:30Speaker 2: we're going to switch gears a little bit. We're going
- 45:32Speaker 2: to talk about some basketball because we got a basketball
- 45:35Speaker 2: game tonight. I know it's an exhibition, but I'm looking
- 45:38Speaker 2: forward to it.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Stay right there. Hour 2 of Just Cats coming right up.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 46:12Speaker 2: All right, we're on hour number two on this Friday,
- 46:14Speaker 2: and I would like to bring up a story that
- 46:17Speaker 2: I read. I think it was yesterday or the day before.
- 46:20Speaker 2: I forget what day it was. But you know the
- 46:22Speaker 2: celebrity Hilary.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Swank, correct? Yeah. And, oh, you already knew this. Yeah.
- 46:29Speaker 1: And you know she's 52 years old. Mm-hmm. All right.
- 46:33Speaker 2: If you don't know this, I found this story crazy,
- 46:36Speaker 2: but she's pregnant again at the age of 52.
- 46:40Speaker 1: With her third child. And I thought, wow.
- 46:45Speaker 2: So I started doing a lot of math when I
- 46:48Speaker 2: saw that. You realize she will be 72 when her
- 46:53Speaker 2: child is one year out of being a teenager. I
- 47:00Speaker 2: just think that's wild.
- 47:02Speaker 1: 72. Oh, when her kid's 20. Yes. You worded that
- 47:06Speaker 1: really weirdly. Well, when the kid is one year out
- 47:09Speaker 1: of being a teenager. How is that weird? That's a
- 47:11Speaker 1: weird way to say it. Okay.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Teenagers are typically young, and they have somewhat young parents.
- 47:17Speaker 2: And I saw this. It's like, that's wild. That is wild.
- 47:22Speaker 2: First of all, getting pregnant at that age is unusual,
- 47:25Speaker 2: I think. Very much so. But to think that let's
- 47:29Speaker 2: have another baby at 52 years old, and you're going
- 47:33Speaker 2: to have a toddler in your mid-50s. and you're going
- 47:37Speaker 2: to have a teenager in your 60s, it's like, oh,
- 47:42Speaker 2: my gosh, man. I'm just exhausted thinking about it. Most
- 47:46Speaker 2: people in their 60s are having grandkids. I've got buddies
- 47:50Speaker 2: in high school that were having grandkids when they were
- 47:52Speaker 2: in their 50s.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I have people that I graduated with that are grandparents. Whoa,
- 47:57Speaker 1: wait a minute. Yeah. You heard that right. I'm blown
- 48:03Speaker 1: away by that. There's at least one, maybe two girls
- 48:08Speaker 1: that I graduated with that are grandmas. At 37? At 37. Okay,
- 48:15Speaker 1: you're killing me now. There's one girl I graduated with.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Her daughter literally this week turned 23. Whoa, okay. I
- 48:24Speaker 1: could not imagine being 37 having a 23-year-old. Wait, okay.
- 48:29Speaker 2: You've messed me up right now, and I can't even
- 48:31Speaker 2: do the math in my head. She was 14 when
- 48:35Speaker 2: she had a kid. Was it intentional or an accident?
- 48:40Speaker 2: I mean, I would assume it was an accident.
- 48:41Speaker 1: I don't know. But, yeah, you never know. Holy cow. Yeah.
- 48:47Speaker 1: And then 14. I mean, you've lost. Isn't that crazy?
- 48:50Speaker 1: I shouldn't say you lost your life, but. you've missed
- 48:54Speaker 1: some formidable years. Yeah, but now she's 37 and she's
- 48:58Speaker 1: out of the woods. Like, she's not having to take
- 49:00Speaker 1: care of her kid anymore. That's pretty awesome. Oh, no, you,
- 49:03Speaker 1: trust me, you're always taking care of your kids. Oh,
- 49:06Speaker 1: my gosh, man. You know what I mean. You're not
- 49:08Speaker 1: having to feed them on a night-to-night and do their laundry.
- 49:11Speaker 1: But don't get me wrong.
- 49:12Speaker 2: If my son Max is listening right now, don't get
- 49:14Speaker 2: me wrong. I love still take. I was in my
- 49:18Speaker 2: when I was 30. I'm trying to think 34 when
- 49:21Speaker 2: my mom passed away and she always treated me like
- 49:24Speaker 2: she I was still her child. And same with my dad.
- 49:28Speaker 2: I mean, my dad was in his eighties and he would, Michael,
- 49:31Speaker 2: you got enough money.
- 49:32Speaker 1: You need anything.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Can I do anything for you? I mean, my dad
- 49:35Speaker 2: was always treating me like I was still a teenager
- 49:38Speaker 2: and I love, I loved that. And I will do
- 49:41Speaker 2: my boys. My youngest said, dad, you know, I'm making
- 49:45Speaker 2: money now. I said, Mason, I will always treat you
- 49:49Speaker 2: as if you're still living at home. That's the way
- 49:51Speaker 2: I was brought up. And I'm going to treat you
- 49:52Speaker 2: this exact same way. And I don't have a problem
- 49:55Speaker 2: with that. So, you know, I just, if they need
- 50:00Speaker 2: a little help, I'm happy to do it. It has
- 50:03Speaker 2: never bothered me. That's how it should be.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Yeah, well. But they're not living under your roof anymore.
- 50:09Speaker 1: That was just the point that I was making. Yeah,
- 50:11Speaker 1: you're right. A little bit easier. You're right.
- 50:13Speaker 2: Okay, I see what you're saying. Yeah, you're absolutely correct
- 50:15Speaker 2: about that. One person texted in, MC scoots like MC Hammer, not.
- 50:20Speaker 1: McScoots like McDonald's. Oh, I get it. Yeah. Okay. Well,
- 50:28Speaker 1: it said McScoots.
- 50:29Speaker 2: I read it as McScoots. Listen, let me get out
- 50:33Speaker 2: there and write you a ticket right now, Mr. Jamie,
- 50:35Speaker 2: because you know what? It's spelled McScoots. You want it
- 50:38Speaker 2: to be MC, then you got to do the M
- 50:40Speaker 2: and then space and C.
- 50:43Speaker 1: And it should be both capital M and capital. Yeah.
- 50:46Speaker 1: I mean, it looks like McScoots. Come on, Jamie. Next time,
- 50:50Speaker 1: I'm bringing you all Texas Roadhouse rolls and butter. Hell yeah. Oh, wow. Good.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Michael won't eat it. You know what? It's a lot
- 50:57Speaker 1: for me. No, no, no.
- 50:59Speaker 2: He didn't say he's bringing that crappy cinnamon butter. Well,
- 51:01Speaker 2: he's not going to bring normal butter.
- 51:02Speaker 1: He's going to bring normal butter. He put it in there.
- 51:04Speaker 1: He's bringing butter. I want normal butter. No, it's cinnamon butter. No,
- 51:08Speaker 1: it's not. No. Scoots, those women should have been told
- 51:11Speaker 1: loose lips sink ships. Oh. What are we talking about?
- 51:16Speaker 1: The girls are graduating. Oh, yeah. That to me blows
- 51:23Speaker 1: my mind right there. 14 years old. It is crazy. Yeah.
- 51:28Speaker 2: One person said, not unusual for men, especially famous ones,
- 51:32Speaker 2: Carrie grandfathered a child with Diane Cannon at a late age,
- 51:39Speaker 2: as did Robert De Niro.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Yeah, didn't Robert De Niro just have a kid? Did
- 51:43Speaker 1: he really? I think within the last year or two.
- 51:46Speaker 2: Okay, well, but it's unusual for women because they're actually
- 51:49Speaker 2: having the baby.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 51:51Speaker 2: It's not unusual for men. They're having the fun. I mean,
- 51:54Speaker 2: that's why I'm so thankful I'm a guy because I
- 51:56Speaker 2: get to have all the fun.
- 51:58Speaker 1: But don't you ever, have you ever wondered, though, what
- 52:00Speaker 1: it would be like to have a baby and how
- 52:02Speaker 1: cool of a moment that must be?
- 52:03Speaker 4: No.
- 52:05Speaker 1: No. I never thought about that. I dreamed it one night.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Like how special that would be. I told you growing
- 52:10Speaker 1: something inside of you. I know I would be so
- 52:13Speaker 1: grossed out saying I would be grossed out. No, I
- 52:16Speaker 1: told you I dreamed that one time, right? That you
- 52:18Speaker 1: had a baby that I had a baby. that my
- 52:20Speaker 1: wife and I, this was before I believe Max was born. No,
- 52:25Speaker 1: it was before Mason was born. And I dream that
- 52:28Speaker 1: Patricia and I, my wife and I were in the
- 52:31Speaker 1: delivery room and we were debating who was going to
- 52:33Speaker 1: have the baby this time. Did I not tell you
- 52:36Speaker 1: this story?
- 52:37Speaker 2: So we're sitting there debating us and I reluctantly said, okay,
- 52:40Speaker 2: I'll have the baby this time. All of a sudden
- 52:42Speaker 2: my stomach started expanding and, And I had a baby
- 52:46Speaker 2: inside my stomach. And I turned to Patricia and said,
- 52:49Speaker 2: is this going to hurt?
- 52:50Speaker 1: She said, yes. And I started yelling, no. Oh, it
- 52:54Speaker 1: was the weirdest dream in the world. You didn't wake
- 52:56Speaker 1: up with poop in the bed, did you? Oh, my gosh.
- 52:59Speaker 4: No.
- 52:59Speaker 1: I did not have a Mr. Illinois. We did not
- 53:02Speaker 1: have the cold brew Chronicles. I'm really disappointed. I can
- 53:05Speaker 1: just see you dreaming and actually trying to push. Oh,
- 53:09Speaker 1: my gosh. No, no.
- 53:12Speaker 2: What a comment out of you. I mean, between you
- 53:14Speaker 2: and Mr. Illinois and the cold brew Chronicles, I'm never
- 53:18Speaker 2: going to forget the cold brew Chronicles. I need an
- 53:20Speaker 2: update and I'm disappointed. I haven't gotten one today. Jamie
- 53:25Speaker 2: said there's only one kind of butter from Texas cinnamon.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Oh boy. Okay. Jamie, you and I are going to
- 53:33Speaker 1: have fights. Okay. I'm just going to tell you right now.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I'm taking Jamie in that one. No, I think I
- 53:38Speaker 1: can take Jamie. Okay. But no, there's no other butter
- 53:42Speaker 1: out there. It's just butter. That's all it is.
- 53:45Speaker 2: We don't need to add crap to it like cinnamon.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Nobody likes cinnamon. I love cinnamon.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Do you really? My favorite drink is Fireball. Is it? Oh,
- 53:54Speaker 1: that's right.
- 53:55Speaker 2: And you know the crazy part is, do you remember
- 53:57Speaker 2: the candy Red Hots? I love Red Hots.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Do you? Or the Hot Tamales. I never cared much
- 54:03Speaker 1: for those. Oh, you don't?
- 54:04Speaker 2: No, I love Hot Tamales. That's one of my favorite things.
- 54:08Speaker 2: All right, let's talk about UK basketball. Their first exhibition
- 54:11Speaker 2: is tonight versus Little Rock. Now we're going to see
- 54:14Speaker 2: a familiar face on the sidelines at Little Rock. You
- 54:17Speaker 2: know that, don't you?
- 54:18Speaker 1: Who's that? Travis Ford. Oh, yeah, that's right. He's the
- 54:20Speaker 1: head basketball coach. I did know that. Yeah, yeah.
- 54:23Speaker 2: Uh, here, here are the things. First of all, I'm
- 54:26Speaker 2: looking forward to that. Cause I'd like to, I think
- 54:28Speaker 2: Travis Ford will get a, uh, a healthy applause.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Don't you? Oh, absolutely. Yeah.
- 54:33Speaker 2: Nobody dislikes Travis Ford. Plus the fact that now Mark
- 54:37Speaker 2: Pope is going to be coaching against one of his
- 54:39Speaker 2: former teammates, which I think is really cool. So that'll
- 54:42Speaker 2: be fun. Here's what I want to see. I, and
- 54:47Speaker 2: this is the number one thing out there. I want
- 54:50Speaker 2: to see how much Malachi Moreno has improved. Because what
- 54:55Speaker 2: part of his game do you think needed improving from
- 54:58Speaker 2: last year? And I don't know if it's necessarily his game.
- 55:02Speaker 2: It might be his physical appearance too. Is he going
- 55:05Speaker 2: to be a force to reckon with under the board?
- 55:08Speaker 2: Is he going to be a physical player? What do
- 55:10Speaker 2: you think, Justin?
- 55:11Speaker 1: I mean, he's probably in all likelihood definitely picked up
- 55:15Speaker 1: the physicality. But for me, what I want to see
- 55:18Speaker 1: out of him is something that will help him moving
- 55:20Speaker 1: forward into the NBA. I want to see more range. Oh,
- 55:23Speaker 1: that's right. I want to see that mid-range being used.
- 55:26Speaker 1: I want to see him firing up three balls. And
- 55:29Speaker 1: now I'm not asking him to shoot five, six threes
- 55:31Speaker 1: a game. No, don't shoot relentless. That's far too many.
- 55:34Speaker 1: But if he's hoisting up one or two a game
- 55:36Speaker 1: and you're knocking him down, then that's going to be
- 55:40Speaker 1: big for him moving forward into his professional.
- 55:42Speaker 2: So you think he needs to average two or three
- 55:45Speaker 2: points made?
- 55:47Speaker 1: I would say if he can average one three made
- 55:50Speaker 1: a game. Oh, just one? Yeah. Oh, that's not much.
- 55:54Speaker 1: That would be huge for us. Well, you don't need
- 55:55Speaker 1: that much because you've got shooting. You've got Cam Williams.
- 55:58Speaker 1: You've got Mom Chilovich. You've got Wilkins and Zoom, which
- 56:01Speaker 1: I don't expect Zoom to take a bunch of them.
- 56:03Speaker 1: But you've got guys that can knock them down.
- 56:05Speaker 2: But in order for him to look good for NBA scouts,
- 56:09Speaker 2: to me, he would have to make more than one.
- 56:11Speaker 1: No, because he's going to do a bunch of other stuff.
- 56:12Speaker 1: I mean, he will use post moves down low. I
- 56:16Speaker 1: anticipate he'll be a lot better rebounder this year. Defensively,
- 56:19Speaker 1: he was solid last year, but I think he'll take
- 56:21Speaker 1: a step forward defensively this year as well. So I
- 56:25Speaker 1: think his entire game, I'm expecting, will be better than
- 56:28Speaker 1: what you saw last year. And last year was pretty solid.
- 56:32Speaker 2: The other part is I want to see if UK
- 56:33Speaker 2: can become an elite shooting team. That's the one thing.
- 56:38Speaker 2: You know, we heard a lot about that last year,
- 56:40Speaker 2: how great this team was shooting from the outside. Haven't
- 56:43Speaker 2: heard much about it this year other than we hear
- 56:46Speaker 2: about Momchilovich.
- 56:48Speaker 1: But I want to see other players out there shooting
- 56:51Speaker 1: it and succeeding at it. That's a dangerous way to play.
- 56:56Speaker 1: That's the only thing about it. You're right. I like that.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I like shooting. You want to balance. I love when
- 57:02Speaker 1: teams are just hoisting up three-pointer after three-pointer. It makes
- 57:04Speaker 1: it a lot of fun. But on a night where
- 57:07Speaker 1: you're not hitting, do you have another way you can
- 57:10Speaker 1: play where you can get around that? And I think
- 57:14Speaker 1: that with as balanced as this Kentucky team is, I
- 57:17Speaker 1: would imagine that would be the case. What would you
- 57:18Speaker 1: like to see out of this U.K. game tonight? Not
- 57:23Speaker 1: just great shooting, but maybe improved defense. I'll be completely
- 57:27Speaker 1: honest with you, and I don't mean this in a
- 57:30Speaker 1: jerky type way. All right. I don't really care to
- 57:34Speaker 1: see anything in this game tonight because, quite frankly, it's
- 57:36Speaker 1: Little Rock. This game does nothing for me. It doesn't
- 57:40Speaker 1: show you how you're going to stack up with the
- 57:42Speaker 1: rest of college basketball because, again, it's Little Rock. You're
- 57:45Speaker 1: exactly right. So when it comes to future games, like
- 57:49Speaker 1: the next game, who's the next? i can't hear i
- 57:51Speaker 1: don't even know but it's a it's a much better
- 57:53Speaker 1: opponent one that you you should be comparable with in
- 57:56Speaker 1: the regular season so i'm much more interested in their
- 57:59Speaker 1: future exhibition games because i think it's going to be
- 58:01Speaker 1: more telling of what you're going to get night in
- 58:03Speaker 1: and night out yeah uh is it manhattan no i
- 58:08Speaker 1: think that's the last one no that's the first regular
- 58:10Speaker 1: season game oh that's right that is the first okay
- 58:12Speaker 1: it's not showing me um I know UCF is the
- 58:17Speaker 1: last game of the regular– or of the exhibition schedule.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Texas Tech. Texas Tech. Is it Texas Tech? Yeah. Yeah,
- 58:23Speaker 1: it's Texas Tech. So that game will be awesome. And
- 58:25Speaker 1: that's going to be much more telling to what this
- 58:27Speaker 1: Kentucky team is. You're right. And then you've got UCF
- 58:29Speaker 1: after that. And then it is Manhattan. Yeah.
- 58:32Speaker 2: So, yeah, October 16th tonight, October 23rd next week, and
- 58:35Speaker 2: then the 28th five days later. And then November 3rd
- 58:38Speaker 2: is the first game.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Did you know we get underway with the college basketball
- 58:42Speaker 1: season in the morning? Not tomorrow morning, but on November 1st,
- 58:49Speaker 1: you get Notre Dame. They are playing against Villanova in
- 58:54Speaker 1: Italy at 930 in the morning. Whoa. On a Sunday. Really?
- 58:59Speaker 1: That's the first game of the college basketball season. Why
- 59:01Speaker 1: are they playing?
- 59:02Speaker 2: Okay, is Notre Dame playing like at the Vatican or
- 59:04Speaker 2: something around Rome or something like that?
- 59:06Speaker 1: They're playing in Rome at the Palazzo dell'Oss. There, that's why.
- 59:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Notre Dame went to Italy because that's the home
- 59:13Speaker 2: of Catholicism, I guess.
- 59:15Speaker 1: I don't know. But that's cool. 930 game to start
- 59:17Speaker 1: the regular season. You think the Pope will be there? Absolutely.
- 59:20Speaker 1: Because he's got the lung cancer, doesn't he? The Pope
- 59:24Speaker 1: has lung cancer? Oh, you didn't know this? Are you
- 59:26Speaker 1: breaking news? No, this has been out the last few days. Really? Yeah.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Do you not read the news? No, you know that.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Because I read. Much as I hate reading, I read.
- 59:39Speaker 1: He had surgery to remove it, because he's good now. Okay, good. Okay, good.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I did not read that yet, so I'm glad to
- 59:47Speaker 1: hear it. Do you not read anything? Oh, come on now.
- 59:49Speaker 1: How do you not know that? It's been out for
- 59:51Speaker 1: a few hours now. Oh, a few hours.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Excuse me for not seeing that the last few hours.
- 59:57Speaker 2: I'm glad to hear that, because I.
- 59:59Speaker 1: It's fun.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: I'm not Catholic, but it's fun having, because you have
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: to admit, though, I don't care what religion you are,
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: he is a world leader. And he leads a lot
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: of people around the world. And I think it's cool
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: that he's from the United States because all my life,
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: the Pope has always been somebody that speaks with a
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: broken accent. And it's wild to me to hear him speak.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: It's like, oh, my gosh, he speaks fluent English. Well,
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: of course he does. He's from Chicago. I just think
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: it's cool.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: He's from Chicago, so I think it's a stretch to
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: say he speaks fluent English. Well, that's a fair point
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: right there. You're exactly right. You know, it's funny.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: When I was in New York last week, I had
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: more people give me a hard time because my accent.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: And I'm like, I don't have an accent. Y'all have
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: an accent. And, of course, they would look at each
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: other and say, y'all. And just laugh. It's like, I
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: love it when people make fun of my accent. Because
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: I like to go back to them and say, I
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: don't talk funny.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Y'all do. Anyway. But, yeah.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: It's funny to see him out there and talking. Of course,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: he's a big White Sox fan. And is he a
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: Bears fan, too, or not?
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I don't know. Hopefully he's not. But I just, I
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: love that. So, all right.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: Um.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: I think you can get some things out of this
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: game tonight, though. I get what you're saying. It's just
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Little Rock. You're really not that interested. But I want
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: to see that they've improved defense. I want to see
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: that they're improving on rebounding. I'd like to see the
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: point guard play. Is there going to be chemistry? I mean,
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: there's a number of things I think you can get
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: out of this game, even though it's just Little Rock.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: Because Little Rock, let's talk about them for a minute.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: I mean, do you think Travis Ford has a chance
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: to make this an uncomfortable game for UK?
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: No.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: I hope not. Not at all. Yeah.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: All right, let's talk about this. How much are fans
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: worried about injury before the season even begins? I think
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: that is a big time worry.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Yeah. So you don't want to see anybody get injured? No.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Because we can't afford to lose another player right now.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: Especially not in any of these exhibitions.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Yeah. No, this is a Little Rock team. They were
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: 12 and 20 last year. I mean, I get it.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: It's a new head coach, but new team, new head coach.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: It's a completely new team. I don't think they'll cause
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: an issue. Would you rather see UK win by 30
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: or the team to show clear improvement in defense and
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: point guard play? Win by 30. Would you really? Yeah.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: You don't care about... improvement by the team or point
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: guard play. I think point guard is a big deal.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: I mean, it is. And I'm going to be interested
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: to see how that all works out. But when you're
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: playing a team like this, you've got to stomp them. Yeah.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: And that is ultimately what's going to make the fan
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: base more excited than seeing just improvement here, improvement there.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: It's all about how big you win. Yeah. Yeah. One
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: person said, let me see here.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Sex at that age for men isn't all that much fun, Michael.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: Are you kidding me?
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Really? Who sent that? 48 Handley. He's probably speaking from
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: experience then. It's not all that fun? That's hilarious. Really? Okay.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: I'm like, what? That's a great text. Jamie texted, what?
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Challenge accepted, Mr. Bennett. Come on down to the Louisville.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Wait a minute.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: Louisville Gardens, and I'm going to feed you all the
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: cinnamon butter you can handle until the battleship sinks.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: All in fun, of course. No. No, sorry. I'm not
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: taking that challenge. I will not eat cinnamon butter. I refuse.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: It's disgusting, and it needs to be dissolved. Sounds like
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: the battleship's already got a hole in it, Jamie. Really? No.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: It's already sinking. No, it's not sinking.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: All right. I'd like to take a poll. Who likes
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: cinnamon butter and who likes regular butter? Because it's just
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: the worst stuff.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: In the world. Well, you got to add the option
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: of who likes both.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: No, you can't add who likes both. It's either cinnamon
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: or no cinnamon in your butter. If I'm getting rolls
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: from Texas Roadhouse, I want the cinnamon butter.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: I know you do. I don't. But I love regular butter.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: But just not from there. Hmm. Okay, whatever. So if
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: you go to another place and they offer you a
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: choice of cinnamon butter or regular butter, what are you choosing? Regular. Really?
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: So it's only that one restaurant you're going to, you
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: want the cinnamon butter. But if you go to other restaurants, see,
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: you're only supporting them just to spite me.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: No. That's all you're doing. Absolutely not. Nobody else does
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: it as well as them. I don't know that I've
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: ever even seen cinnamon butter anywhere else. Really? Yeah. Okay.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: I'm not spiteful today. All right. Yeah, one texter said
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Texas Tech. Thank you. That's like five minutes late. I know.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Justin as well sent that. I don't think that's his.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Give our name a bad rap. Well, I mean, is
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: it because he's on YouTube and there's that big of
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: a delay or he's on? I don't know. We figured
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: that out like eight minutes ago. Okay.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: Well, the guy just texted us to let us know,
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: and I appreciate that. And you're criticizing him because he's
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: probably watching on YouTube. It's got like a 10-minute delay.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I'm just saying we share a name, so I was
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: expecting better. That's it? Wow, that's cruel. I'm not hating
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: on them. Okay. All right.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Well, we got to take another break. Yeah, you are
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: hating on them, by the way. Just like I'm hating
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: on cinnamon butter.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: It sucks. And they just need to do away with it, okay?
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Give me regular. I do like, because you know what
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: I do like? I love it.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: I love that creamy type butter where it's not the
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: hard stick kind that you have a hard time spreading.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: The creamy kind is so much better because you can
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: spread it out on your bread.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Margarine? No, no, no. It's not margarine.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: They bring out a, it's like an ice cream scoop
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: of regular butter. And I love that kind.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Like the fluffed butter. Is that what it is? Fluffed butter?
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I've never heard it considered fluffed butter. I don't think
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: I have either. I think I just maybe made that up. Yeah. Okay.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Well, I like that you did. I kind of like that.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Fluffed butter. That's what I want. I want fluffed butter
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: on my bread.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: All right. Let's take another break. 502-384-1450.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: You want to text in, or if you want to
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: call in, 502-414-1450. Can you continue to text me? Because
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: I'm enjoying that. But we'll talk about Little Rock's brand
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: new team as soon as we get back. Because guess what, Justin?
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: They got size. They're not a little dinky team, but
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: we'll talk about that.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Stay right there. More Just Cats.
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: Coming right up.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Just Cats.
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: I got a message to send that doesn't feel right
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: I ain't answering your story today They gave me a
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: sign that didn't feel right, no.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: I gotta say, this is my favorite song by Kings
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: of the Leon. I love this song. I know you
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: played it for me before. Don't make fun of me,
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: but I know you will anyway. But I love that song.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: It's one of my favorites. By the way, speaking of
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: one of my favorites, sad news yesterday. Oscar Combs broke
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: it yesterday. If you had not seen it, former UK
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: player and former athletic director Cliff Hagen passed away yesterday
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: at the ripe old age of 94. Good for him.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: Had a good run. He absolutely did. Because think about this.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: He was the athletic director at UK from 1974 to 1989.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: He's in the National Basketball Hall of Fame. He played
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: in the NBA and ABA for 13 years.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: A five-time NBA All-Star with St. Louis Hawks, who I
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: assume is now Atlanta Hawks. A one-time ABA All-Star with
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: the Dallas Chaparrals. I've never heard of Dallas Chaparrals. But
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: that's pretty cool. While serving as player coach on that team, too.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: He won the 1958 NBA championship with Dallas. So, well,
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: life lived right there by Cliff Harris. I mean, he
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: was my athletic director at UK in my formidable years
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: when I was growing up as a UK fan.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: So it's just, it's really cool. I mean, he was
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: there when I was at UK as a student as well.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: So you were correct. They did relocate from St. Louis
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: down to Atlanta. So the same team. Can you tell
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: me where they were before they were in St. Louis? Ooh, St.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Louis Hawks. Huh. Is it close by? Close-ish, yeah. I
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: would probably say Kansas City. Milwaukee. Milwaukee? No, I would
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: have never guessed that. Wow. So they went from Milwaukee
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: to St. Louis to Nowlin. Wow, really? Okay. And Clint
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Hagen is mentioned as one of their, or Cliff Hagen
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: is mentioned as one of their key franchise figures. Oh, really?
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: That's pretty cool. Yeah, I was a big fan of
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Cliff Hagen. He used to have a restaurant in Lexington, too,
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: called Cliff Hagen's.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: How original. Well, it was, but you know what worked?
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: It's been gone for a long time, but it was
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: a steakhouse. Yeah, but yeah, I think it was on
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: New Circle or... I forget where it was. But, yeah,
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: I went to her a few times. And it was–
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: especially after games. That's where a lot of people went
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: after games. Football games, basketball games. Oh, you looked it up?
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: Really? Yeah.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: A little on the dark side. But it was a
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: good steakhouse. So, no criticism out of Michael Bennett for that.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: But sorry to hear that. But on the other hand,
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: when– When you look at somebody that's lived 94 years,
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: kind of hard to feel bad that they're gone.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: Because they lived a long time. When my dad passed away, yeah,
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: I was sad, but he lived a long, he was
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: 89 years old. He lived a long life. I was
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: happy for him.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: But dementia took the best of him, and I think
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: he's in a better place without having to deal with dementia. So, yeah,
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: I was sad, but not to the point where, like
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: I was sad when my mom passed away.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: That was different. Oh, yeah, you were so young. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: She was young. Yeah, she was. Oh, yeah, very young.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: One person, 48 Handlers, said, Moreno's got to show me
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: he can score in the low post. I think he
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: did that last year, though, didn't he? He just needed
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: some more muscle. He needed to be more physical at
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: the post.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. All right, I'm ready. Do
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: you think this team will be more outside in or
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: inside out? Do you have a preference on that? Oh, my.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: My preference is to be inside out. Because I do
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: want to finally see the elite shooting team from three-point land.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: What would you say?
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: I would prefer inside out as well. Especially with all
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: the shooting on this team. Just feed it down low.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: Let Moreno... gather or get some attention from the defenders.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: Maybe you get a double team and there's going to
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: be someone open. So as long as he can find
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: that guy and with his length and athleticism and just
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: long arms, he should be able to find anybody outside
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: the perimeter.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: Well, listen to this team that Little Rock has and
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: Travis Ford has gotten. He got 6'7, 6'5, 6'10, 6'2,
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: and 6'10. That's a big team right there. So they
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: got six, seven Ford. Uh, I am not going to
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: begin to try and pronounce his name.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: I was getting ready. I hope you would. Okay. Cause
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: I looked at the roster earlier. There's some tricky names.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: Here we go. Uh, Yama D bomb missile nailed it. Yeah, sure.
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: I did six, seven Ford transferred from Utah and Louisiana Monroe. Uh,
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: they say he's very athletic and is a player that
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: attacks the basket. I like that. So I'm glad. I'm
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: hoping this is a competitive game. Uh, then you got,
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: you are, I very much. So I want to see Kentucky, uh,
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: in the first half, have a competitive game with little rock.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: Yes. Do I want to be a blah?
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: Of course I do, but I want to see Kentucky
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: really have to fight for their baskets. I want them
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: to prove to me that this is going to be
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: a fighting team, but.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Isn't if this team is going to be what you
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: think it's going to be, we talked about UK UK. Yes.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: You don't want to see it. A competitive game in
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: the first half. You want them to have a 25-point
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: halftime lead. What are you talking about? Because I want
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: to see this team fight. Well, you're probably not going
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: to get that in this game. Hopefully not. Well, that's
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: what you want. I know. Now you're talking out both
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: sides of your mouth.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: No, I want to have a competitive game. Doesn't mean
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: it's close. I want to see this team fight. Well,
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: they're going to fight. And they might be up by 25,
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: but I still want to see fight.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Out of them. They'll be fighting. Okay.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: I got a 6'5 guard, Aaron Clark, transferred from Pepperdine.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: So I like that because, you know, my son graduated
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: from Pepperdine. Also played at Wake Forest. They got a
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: 6'10 Ford center named, how do you like this? Papa
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: Amidon Conte. His first name is Papa.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: I love that. Amidon? Amidon. Papa Amidon Conte. It's a U. Yeah,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: I couldn't even read my own writing. Papa Amidon. I
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: love that name. Papa. How else would you say it? P-A-P-A. No,
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: that's how I would say it. Okay.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: Transferred from Pitt. They say he's a big force in
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: the middle. You got 6'2 guard Ja LaKai King.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: They're making you work for it. I don't know who
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: that is. I think you nailed it, though. Okay.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: Ja LaKai King played at– at University of Maryland, Baltimore County,
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: and then who brings experience is what they say. Anyway,
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: and then you got 6'10, Ford Center.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Oh, boy. Roy... I think it's probably just row. It
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: is row. Well, why are there two E's at the end?
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: It is confusing. I think it's probably just row. R-O-E-E.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: I think I got the Oselka right. Yeah. So you
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: think it's just row. That's how I would say it. Yeah.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: Transferred from Howard College by way of Green Bay. And
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: who's another big physical player is what they're saying. So
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: I don't know what to expect out of this game
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: other than, yeah, I hope it's a blowout. But I
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: want to see an improved team. Even though, yeah, you're right.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: I'm not talking out of both sides because maybe I
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: didn't clarify myself good enough. Because even if they're up
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: by 20, 25, 30 points, I still want to see
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: this team fighting. I just want to see a lot
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: of fight. I want to see energy. I want to
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: see them rebounding like crazy. I want to see them
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: physical down the middle. That makes more sense.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: Okay. No, that's what I meant. So, I don't want
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: it to be close. I just want to see competition
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: by UK. Them being competitive. A competitive fight. There. Am
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: I making sense now? Okay, good. So, there you go.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: That's what I'm hoping to see out of this game.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: We'll talk about it Monday. But, I mean, if you
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: want to talk more about the basketball, I don't know
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: what else to say. I mean, it shouldn't be a
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: good game. But I want it to be a good
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: game from UK from all cylinders.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: At least it is a Division I game. It's not some...
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: That's what I've really enjoyed about the way we're doing
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: the exhibition games now. Because back in the day, it
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: would be... You all would be playing like Midway. Or
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: Berea College. Berea! Whatever. In a scrimmage. I'm just glad
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: we've gone away from that. Yeah. But I don't know.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: I asked the question earlier, does Travis Ford have a
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: chance to make it uncomfortable?
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Yeah, he does. But will they? Okay, you really think
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: no way. No way. No way. Okay.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: It's kind of nice to see Travis Ford coming back
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: to reparate. That's the part I'm really excited about. I'm
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: glad he's coming back because he deserves the appreciation as
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: a player. I always thought he would be the first
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: UK player. to come in as a coach at UK.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Oh, did you? I really did.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: I thought he was on his way up, doing really well,
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, you never heard of
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Travis Ford anymore.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: Where has he been? I knew you were going to
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: ask that. Where was he at last year? I don't
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: remember where he was. I'll do my own research. I know. Well,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: that would help. He was at St. Louis. St. Louis, yeah.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: He was with the Billikens. Well, a couple years ago.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: He got fired there in 2024. But, yeah. That doesn't
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: seem like he was anywhere last year. Weird. Because he wasn't.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: But, yeah, I really thought because he started at Campbellsville,
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: went to EKU, was at UMass, Oklahoma State, St.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: Louis, and Little Rock.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: I really thought he was on his way up at
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: UMass and then Oklahoma State. But then it just didn't
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: turn out that well, and then he found himself at St. Louis,
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: didn't really do anything there, and then now he's.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: At Little Rock.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: Looks like he did do some commentary. Yeah, oh, is
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: that what he did? Okay, I don't even remember that,
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: but good for him. I'm glad to see he's still
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: coaching out there. But, again, I really thought he would
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: be that player that would come back to UK. I
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: thought he'd do well. I thought he'd be kind of
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: like a Rick Pitino-type player, our coach.
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: I mean, still could be, right? Nah, I don't know.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: He's still young enough, right? Yeah, what is he? He's
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: in his early 50s, isn't he? He is 56. All right, so, oh, mid-50s.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: All right. So, I don't know. You think at mid-50
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: you can make it back to maybe at Division I?
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, he's at Division I now. Well,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: I mean, a big-name team. Yeah, who knows? I just,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: I can't think of any other players out there that
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: would make a really good coach. Can you think of
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: any past players right now?
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: Mm-mm.
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: I know Rajon Rondo is trying to make it. Oh,
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: that was John hood.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: Yeah. John hood. I think he can be good. He
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: did a nice job with them. I mean, he really did.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: I thought he did a really nice job to the
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: point where it's gotta be somebody out there is going
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: to offer him an assistant job, but does he really
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: want to do that?
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: I can't answer that question. So I don't know right now.
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: I just can't think of any players out there that
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: would make potentially a really good basketball coach.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: So, All right, we got to take our last break. 502-414-1450.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: You want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: I'll get back to your text as soon as we
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: get back. But a couple of things I want to
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: talk about. Number one, we got to talk about some baseball.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: And a Dodger player is not happy with something. We'll
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: talk about that as well.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Stay right there. One last segment coming right up.
- 1:20:00Speaker 5: So don't knock and don't knock if you've never fought.
- 1:20:04Speaker 5: So don't knock and don't knock if you've never fought.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: 502-414-1450.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: If you want to text in this last segment, you
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: still got a chance.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: We'll get to those in just a second.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: But did you see where Dodgers outfielder Alex Call?
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: Who?
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: Dodgers outfielder Alex Call. Who the hell is that? He's
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: the Dodgers outfielder. I've never heard of this. Really? Okay.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: He's calling out Major League Baseball. I see what he
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: did there. He's calling out. Yeah. How do you like that? Yeah.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: But he is.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: He's calling out Major League Baseball for the soft porn
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: ads that are being played on TBS, Fox, and NBC broadcast.
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: He said, my son wants to watch baseball with Dada.
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: But how do I justify that when a half-naked woman
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: could come on the screen any time? This is America's pastimes.
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: Parents shouldn't have to worry about this. And then he
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: totally calls out Sidney Sweeney in zero clothes and Megan
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: Fox selling ED pills in a red bodysuit.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: What do you think of this? Get over it, dude.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Your son is going to get to a point where
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: that's his thing. He's going to love that. That's his thing.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: What are you talking about? How are you going to
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: be mad about Sidney Sweeney being naked on your TV screen? Yeah, well.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: Holy moly. It is an unusual ad. You know, we
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: talked about it when it first came out. It's an
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: unusual ad, and it certainly has gotten a lot of attention.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: But every time I turn on social media, there's Megan Fox.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: I mean, if you're a dad, aren't you supposed to
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: be like, hey, this is the beauty of the female body, son?
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: Take it in. One of these days, you're going to
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: love this.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: I hope to goodness one day it happens for you
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: and you have a child. I really do, because I
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: don't know if you would be having the same kind
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: of conversation.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: If I have a child, Michael, he'll be five years
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: old and I'll play the Sidney Sweeney commercial for him. Oh,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: my God. Check this out. Yeah, I know.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: Well, you know, I'm guilty. I took the boys to
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: see The Hangover before they were ever 70. I think
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: they were teenagers and they went to see The Hangover. Oh,
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: there's no nudity in Hangover.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Yeah, there is. Female nudity?
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, there is. The very first one, absolutely there is.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: And there's all kinds of sexual innuendo. In The Hangover,
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: there's female nudity?
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sorry. I'm thinking I got my two movies
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: mixed up. American Pie.
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: So, Hangover. You got male nudity. I don't remember any
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: female nudity. Yeah, you're right. I don't think there is any.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: I took him to see American Pie. Well, I did
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: take him to see The Hangover, too. God, you're a
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: bad dad. What's that? Man, you're a bad dad. Clearly,
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: I am. But I don't know. I was never.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: I know my youngest son does not get embarrassed. My
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: oldest son does get embarrassed. But I was never embarrassed
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: to talk about that kind of stuff with my boys.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: I don't know. Shouldn't be. I mean, they're going to
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: get to an age eventually where you all have that
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: in common.
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: We didn't talk about it yesterday. But, you know, former
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: UK player Mo Diabate and LSU. He was only one
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: of six players that played for LSU against University of
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: Central Florida the other night.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: What did he have to say at media days the
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: other day? Oh, wait, never mind. They weren't there. They
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: were dealing with weather. Oh, boy.
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: But, you know, they barely beat. And Mo Diabate scored
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: the last four points to beat in the final eight
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: seconds to beat UCF.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: Yeah. That's pretty bad. They're going to have a long season. Yeah,
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: they are. You're exactly correct. I can't wait to laugh
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: from afar. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: Let's get to a couple of these. John said, Coach
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: Chubby Smith was a better X's and O's coach than
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: Coach Cal. Could not agree more with you. I also
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: believe early on from what we have seen from adjustments
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: in game and for drawing up plays, so was Coach Pope.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: I hope you're right. I think you're right. I just
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: there's been other questions for me with Mark Pope from
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: last year.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: First year was fun. Last year was a struggle. And
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: so that makes me think I don't know what to
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: think of Mark Pope as a coach. So I think
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: this is a year to make that deciding factor. Justin
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: as well said there was a delay in the text.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: I sent it when you guys were trying to figure
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: out laugh out loud.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: Oh, my bad. Yeah. I'll blame your phone service. It
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: might not be the phone service. It might be the YouTube. No,
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: it's not delayed that much. Is it not? It's his
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: phone service. Okay. Not you, Joe. Zach said, okay, Kenny Payne.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: What's that all about? I don't know, but it still
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: made me laugh.
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: Alex Call is being softer than the guys needing the
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: ED pills.
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. What are we doing here? But, yeah.
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: I mean, there's enough things to gripe about. I just
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: don't think this is one of them. Does every franchise
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: eventually realize St. Louis sucks and leaves? Shows just how
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: messed up the St. Louis Cardinals must be, but then
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: they are the Cardinals.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Shots fired. Yeah.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: If UK is fighting to win against Little Rock, I
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: don't think we are going to enjoy the season much.
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: His cousin is the more popular Papa. Don't preach.
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: Jeez, that's a bad joke. Still funny.
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: Then for the handle, he said the last text was
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: a misfire. Michael, I'm not on the sauce. I have
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: him watch one of those bald headed women on ESPN
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: wearing poodle skirts and lumberjack boots. That'll slow his libido down. Oh,
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: we didn't even talk about Pat Kelsey.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: No, he didn't. Yeah. That was very entertaining. Yeah. Yeah. No.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: All right. This is me. This PK. Yeah. Yeah. He
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: came across as goofy. I mean, he is.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: I know he was trying to say a lot of
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: people credit him. That's what every coach out there wants
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: to say. But is it really? I mean, every coach
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: that's following the rules is not saying that. It's the
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: coaches that are. trying to squeeze by the rules. And
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: I think that's what Pat Kelsey's trying to do, is
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: squeeze by the rules.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: They don't want rules.
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: They want to go out there and let it be
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: and continue to be what it is right now, which
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: is the wild, wild west.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: NCAA or Pat Kelsey? Pat Kelsey. No, because that's not
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: what he was saying yesterday. I know it's not. He
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: said multiple times that we need rules, we need guardrails.
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: Can I play that clip from him, by the way?
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: Go ahead and play it. Let's talk about this is me,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: because it's so funny. Yeah. What is it? Are you
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: referring to a class injunction that was granted in a
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: federal court in Colorado?
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: No.
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: We hear, because that's our job, to have our ear
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: to the ground, find out what's going on.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: We start hearing these professional guys are having an opportunity
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: to become eligible, so we start.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: Exploring that option. Nobody thought that was a rule. That's
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: a rule? You can take a guy that was a
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: professional and go to basketball? When they brought the London
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: Johnson thing to me, I'm like, no way. That's freaking nuts.
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: There ain't no way that that's a rule now.
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: Can't happen.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden they go, Coach, look,
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: it's this guy, it's this guy, it's this guy for Baylor.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: I'm like, this is freaking nuts. We're here, boys. That's
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: where we're at. All right, fine. Tell me about this kid. Coach,
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: I know there's a camera, but I'm asking you about
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: the age-based rule. Why did you say you know it's
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: a camera? Because that's a little bit of a performance.
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: So this is who I am. Have you ever done
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: any homework with me? This is PK. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: That's enough right there. That's a great quote. That comes
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: across as just goofy. This is me. It's PK. This
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: is me. This is MTB. If you ever see my license,
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: MTB for UK.
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: That's who I am. I admit it. That was just dumb.
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: I mean, it was a performance for the camera. I
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: thoroughly enjoyed it. I did, too, because it was just
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: goofy pet Kelsey, whatever his name is. Anyway, yeah, and
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: he's got to do something about the glasses, okay? Maybe
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: give him a booster seat so he sits up a
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: little higher.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: And just, no. He's just goofy to me. And it's
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: not because I'm a UK fan. He's just goofy. I
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: find him very entertaining. Do you? Okay, good.
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: Justin as well said it's very likely my phone. T-Mobile sucks.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: So it probably is his phone name.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: There you go. Absolutely.
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: UK football, again, was one of the most watched teams
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: last weekend. I don't think that's a surprise anymore, beating LSU.
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: According to Nielsen, UK versus LSU was the eighth most
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: watched game with an average of 2.2 million viewers. No
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: surprise here. Alabama, Georgia drew the most with 12 million viewers.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: Good Lord. I don't think y'all will be up there
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: this week. You don't think so? Nope. Yeah. Not top ten.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: I just don't think anybody cares about this game outside
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: of Kentucky. I mean, everybody will be– I think everybody
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: will be locked into Notre Dame-BYU, at least for a
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: little bit. Really? Maybe that game kind of sucks. I
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: won't check into that game one second. But you got
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: Oklahoma State and Houston also playing at 730. That's a
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: ranked game there. Yeah, but is that really a game
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: that anybody wants to watch? I mean, it's two teams
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: that should not be ranked. And on top of that,
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: Wisconsin's playing at UCLA, who's undefeated. UCLA's going to be
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: on upset watch. So there's some good games in that slate. Yeah.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: So you're picking Wisconsin? No, you're picking UCLA. I don't
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: know which way I'm going to lean there. UCLA is
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: without their quarterback for the rest.
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: Of the year.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: Oh, really? I believe. That might be the end there.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: How about the Brewers sweeping the Dodgers? Love it. I
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: wanted that series to go to seven, but I love
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: that they got swept. Yeah.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: That's the first time since 1982 the Brewers have won
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: a pennant. Good for them, but they said the Dodgers
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: were emotional after the game before the media got in there.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: Maybe try not sucking. They did. They were terrible. Last night,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: they had no reason. They should not have lost that
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: last night. The Dodgers? When Shohei hit that homer to
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: make it 4-0, I thought that was good enough. One
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: person texted in, Goofy PK whipped your ass last season. Yeah,
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: he did. He sure did. No criticism right here. But
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: he comes across as goofy. I mean, you got to
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: admit that. I'll admit Mark Pope comes across as really
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: goofy sometimes.
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: For sure.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: So, I mean, I'll say it every time. But, yeah, PK,
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: this is PK. This is who I am. Oh, my gosh, man.
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: That's who I am, sir. I know. What do you mean, camera?
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: Of course I know.
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: And in his mind, he's like, I know I'm on
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: the camera, and this is a performance. That was a performance.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: Can't tell me it wasn't a performance. Anytime anybody's on
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: the camera, they do a little bit of a performance.
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: Except for me on the YouTube.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: Really? You don't? What you see is what you get. Okay.
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: I don't know. Do you think I perform, or do
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: you think this is me? I don't think we're any
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: different because the YouTube's on. Yeah.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: I don't think so either. I forget that it's on
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: the majority of the time. I totally forget it's on.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: So I can't go back and watch it, I can
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: tell you that. I think the camera's positioned in the
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: wrong place because I've got to turn around here and
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: look up at it.
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about the game tomorrow. Your prediction
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: for UK-Oklahoma? I'm taking the Cats to win. I think
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: they're the better team. I think they've got more momentum
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: right now, despite that win against Texas last week for Oklahoma.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: I mean, Will Stein has proved going on the road
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: in the SEC, he's liable to have success. I mean,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: 2-0 so far in his young career. I think Kentucky
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: finds a way to win this thing, and I don't
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: even expect it to be all that close. Really? I'll
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: go 31-23. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: I'm hoping this game ends in regular time frame. I
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: don't want to go in overtime. It's going to give
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: me a heart attack one of these days.
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: I mean, Stein's already proven that he's got a million
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: two-point plays. Yeah, you're right. He certainly does. I don't know.
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: I don't feel good about this. I think this is
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: going to be a letdown. As much as I want,
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: of course, I want UK to win, but I just
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: don't feel like the honeymoon's going to continue. I think
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: it's going to be a loss, so. I think it's
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: going to be probably a seven or eight point loss
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: for UK. So we'll talk about it Monday. I'm hoping
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: I'm wrong.
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: I still, I want to buy in, but I just
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: haven't yet.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: So anyway, everybody have a great weekend. We'll see you
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: Monday on just the cat.
