- 0:05Speaker 1: Approache Production.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Welcome to a bonus round of the Shared.
- 0:23Speaker 3: This is straight after the opening round of the NRL
- 0:27Speaker 3: in Vegas.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just started low on the ramp.
- 0:33Speaker 4: I'm building Sammy.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Wow, now I've got and I've got no excuse you had.
- 0:40Speaker 4: You had the biggest workday of all of us yesterday.
- 0:42Speaker 4: So what time did you go to start.
- 0:44Speaker 2: For Channel Night?
- 0:45Speaker 1: I think I started at one o'clock local time and
- 0:48Speaker 1: we went through to eleven thirty pm.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, that's a big day.
- 0:52Speaker 1: It's a long day.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yeah, what are you doing that whole time?
- 0:55Speaker 1: A few different things, mate, So like there's a whole
- 0:58Speaker 1: heap of fan build up and then you know, back
- 1:01Speaker 1: home on the TV, we've got wild little Sports, We've
- 1:04Speaker 1: got the Sunday Footy Show, which then led the game.
- 1:08Speaker 1: So yeah, a long day of covering the footy. And
- 1:13Speaker 1: to be honest, I love rugby league fans, but yesterday
- 1:15Speaker 1: I could have had enough by the end.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Well if you road personal space. So many sweaty arm
- 1:24Speaker 1: pits on me, like drunken people.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Yeah, and some of them drunk, some of them drunk early.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Did you notice like it was almost like when on
- 1:34Speaker 4: a race day.
- 1:35Speaker 3: When you see people arriving blind, you're you're never going
- 1:38Speaker 3: to make it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It's like you see the eighteen nineteen year olds that
- 1:41Speaker 1: can't afford to beers that going, Yeah, the ones that
- 1:44Speaker 1: are preloading.
- 1:45Speaker 2: But Bruce Bruce was yeah apprelated giving.
- 1:50Speaker 1: You understood how expected at the stadium. Yeah, it was
- 1:54Speaker 1: a long day, but what a fantastic way to kick
- 1:57Speaker 1: off the season. Yeah, two great games of footy Newcastle
- 2:02Speaker 1: Knights and the Cowboys. Actually was kind of disappointed with
- 2:06Speaker 1: the Cowboys to be honest. Yeah, all at half time
- 2:10Speaker 1: I thought they gave themselves a chance, but then they
- 2:12Speaker 1: just started the second half as slow as they started
- 2:14Speaker 1: the first half and couldn't come back from from that.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Weird There was a weird sin binning at the end
- 2:21Speaker 1: of that game as well. There were so Brandon Burns
- 2:24Speaker 1: came in and hit Calum Pong a high But if
- 2:29Speaker 1: you're sending someone off for a high tackle, Now, if
- 2:32Speaker 1: you're sending someone off for a high tackle, how come
- 2:35Speaker 1: Klumpong doesn't come off for a h He was a
- 2:40Speaker 1: part of their victory in the end. He kicks it,
- 2:43Speaker 1: He kicks a goal for him and he had his
- 2:45Speaker 1: fingerprints all over the end of the game to make
- 2:47Speaker 1: sure they won by ten points? Was that direct?
- 2:50Speaker 5: But because I couldn't see it from the from where
- 2:53Speaker 5: we will sit like the TV screen, I couldn't see
- 2:55Speaker 5: it clear.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Was that was it? Was it shoulder neck? Yeah? Trap?
- 3:02Speaker 1: I'm just asking, but true. But that's I think how
- 3:08Speaker 1: it looked on the replay. I think it deserved the sin.
- 3:12Speaker 1: But where I'm confused is why Calmonger still stays on
- 3:16Speaker 1: the field, someone who's had a history of knocks in
- 3:19Speaker 1: the past.
- 3:19Speaker 4: And if you got hit in the head, and you got
- 3:21Speaker 4: hit in the head.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah you've you've deemed it high high contact with someone
- 3:26Speaker 1: in But he still stays on the field. I think
- 3:28Speaker 1: there was nine minutes left in the game. Yeah, he wouldn't.
- 3:31Speaker 1: He wouldn't have finished the game.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Can we also address the elephant in the room, which
- 3:35Speaker 4: is Coreots's voice. What's happening with you?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Mate?
- 3:37Speaker 3: This is from old Red from still from two or
- 3:41Speaker 3: three nights ago?
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah, worse?
- 3:46Speaker 4: Have you given yourself a chance to recover?
- 3:48Speaker 2: No?
- 3:49Speaker 4: No, okay, just checking. What do you reckon about the
- 3:52Speaker 4: opening game? The Super League game? Holdand Leeds?
- 3:56Speaker 3: Does that? Is that a bad sign for the Broncos
- 3:58Speaker 3: that the team that beat US last week just got
- 4:01Speaker 3: absolutely pumped.
- 4:02Speaker 1: No, not at all. Okay, definitely, they definitely would have
- 4:05Speaker 1: been up to play the Broncos again at the end
- 4:07Speaker 1: of the day. That's they're playing to be what is
- 4:11Speaker 1: class as the world world champions.
- 4:14Speaker 5: They always get up for that game and put a
- 4:16Speaker 5: lot of effort in like that that game last week
- 4:18Speaker 5: in the Bronx, it's like one of the It's like
- 4:20Speaker 5: the biggest game of the year for them except for
- 4:22Speaker 5: the gf pretty right, Okay. Yeah, And it's funny because
- 4:26Speaker 5: and they traveled like again, they've traveled straight over here.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Ye straight after the game, they traveled over to the US.
- 4:33Speaker 1: So but yeah, to have fifty point on them, I
- 4:37Speaker 1: didn't think. I thought Lead Rhinos were a chance. But yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 1: to have fifty points put on the Okay, their fans
- 4:45Speaker 1: went quiet pretty quick, didn't they were. They were the
- 4:49Speaker 1: loudest fans in there. Yeah, And what I was most
- 4:52Speaker 1: worried about was the two end sections of the field
- 4:56Speaker 1: where the UK fans were. I was worried that they
- 4:59Speaker 1: want to end up being empty and leave at the
- 5:02Speaker 1: end of the day. So I'm glad was a fair
- 5:05Speaker 1: few of them stuck around to watch the next two games.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But you know it's always the hard thing. Where do
- 5:10Speaker 1: you schedule their games so their fans stay and hang around?
- 5:14Speaker 4: What do you only got to do something with the ticketing?
- 5:16Speaker 3: Like just because the stadium it's a huge stadium and
- 5:19Speaker 3: can take sixty five thousand and it looked I think
- 5:21Speaker 3: that was apparently according to the big screen, they said
- 5:25Speaker 3: forty five thousand people turned up, but it.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Looked empty a lot of the time.
- 5:28Speaker 4: And it's not it doesn't look good on TV.
- 5:30Speaker 1: No. Well, there's a few little bars and places where
- 5:34Speaker 1: you can go and get a drink. Yeah, So like
- 5:36Speaker 1: not everyone sits in their seat the whole time. You know,
- 5:39Speaker 1: people are up and about and having fun and enjoy
- 5:42Speaker 1: themselves at some of the bars and stuff. I know,
- 5:46Speaker 1: right up the top where there's a flame, yeah, and
- 5:51Speaker 1: I think that's maybe even where the DJ booth was.
- 5:53Speaker 1: There's a cool bar up there.
- 5:54Speaker 5: So people just going there and just what you can
- 5:57Speaker 5: go and just sit down inside, yeah, just go and sitting.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Out watch on TV.
- 6:02Speaker 4: What was your what do you reckon?
- 6:04Speaker 3: The percentage in the crowd was of Australians and then
- 6:07Speaker 3: Englishmen and then Americans.
- 6:08Speaker 1: So they reckon there was about eleven thousand that come
- 6:11Speaker 1: over from the UK. Yeah, wow, and roughly thirty thousand
- 6:15Speaker 1: that came from Australia. So I think, yeah, maybe when
- 6:19Speaker 1: they say forty seven thousand was the attendance, so.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Maybe five thousand locals.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, okay, Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 1: So you know that's where we probably need to pick
- 6:28Speaker 1: the numbers up a little bit.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know, we want to try.
- 6:32Speaker 1: To convert as many Americans as we can and over
- 6:35Speaker 1: to watch our game. It's a great sport for them
- 6:38Speaker 1: to follow because it's in their off season for the
- 6:40Speaker 1: NFL's Yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Finished, I don't think that being in Vegas is the
- 6:44Speaker 5: best option for the game, Like, yeah, they're going to
- 6:46Speaker 5: watch on TV. You know, I don't know where I
- 6:49Speaker 5: should take you because Vegas is a party town. Like
- 6:51Speaker 5: everyone's coming here to other events from from around you know,
- 6:56Speaker 5: the world, Like they're not all just company because if
- 6:59Speaker 5: it is on, Like that's what I think we kind
- 7:02Speaker 5: of maybe thought about it wrong. Was everyone kind of
- 7:05Speaker 5: I guess is here because there's it's like there's like
- 7:07Speaker 5: twenty shows on every week. Yeah, and they're big artists
- 7:10Speaker 5: and big performers, So I think that was probably that's
- 7:15Speaker 5: the part that's probably hurt us a bit, is that
- 7:17Speaker 5: this place isn't just that there's not just one or
- 7:20Speaker 5: two things on.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Yeah, if we're gone to Oklahoma and taken over the city,
- 7:25Speaker 3: then everyone, all the locals who you'd think would be
- 7:28Speaker 3: turning up because they'd be excited about if we.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Went somewhere somewhere else that hasn't got so many events
- 7:32Speaker 5: on every week for the whole year, like it's just
- 7:36Speaker 5: what this place is known for us. Yeah, I think
- 7:38Speaker 5: it would have been different. I think they might go
- 7:40Speaker 5: to Miami then.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Well I could do Miami. Can we do a dream sequence?
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yeah, in Miami. I that'd be awesome.
- 7:57Speaker 3: You mentioned the the Cowboys were pretty slow in their game,
- 8:01Speaker 3: but Newcastle look pretty good. What do you think?
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yeah, they did. They look great. The young half back
- 8:07Speaker 1: I feel for him, Fletcher Fletcher, Yeah, I feel for him.
- 8:12Speaker 1: He went down pretty early and likely they had send
- 8:16Speaker 1: Smith on the bench to is right? I reckon he
- 8:20Speaker 1: might dad, Yeah, what is that?
- 8:23Speaker 2: So what does that mean? That's me?
- 8:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's there's a little little kind of ligament in
- 8:27Speaker 1: the back of you. Well, he doesn't have anyone, any
- 8:31Speaker 1: of them I don't. I don't have that one thought.
- 8:34Speaker 1: It's option from going back and forwardard backwards. Yeah, so
- 8:38Speaker 1: now his needs moves back.
- 8:39Speaker 5: If he's tore the whole thing off, Yeah, you're just
- 8:42Speaker 5: but it's not as bad.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't need operation for it, that's okay.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Part of it's just it's an eight week just takes
- 8:48Speaker 1: time recovery and then come back.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I mean, what what could become of his mullet in
- 8:53Speaker 3: those eight weeks, because it's already it's a great mullet.
- 8:56Speaker 1: It is really good.
- 8:57Speaker 4: I think it's the best of the league.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I haven't seen them all yet obviously, but what I
- 9:01Speaker 3: mean what a start.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's a great start. There's a few actually
- 9:04Speaker 1: lads Newcastle with some good moments. But yeah, I think
- 9:08Speaker 1: at the end of the day, Newcastle will be very
- 9:10Speaker 1: very happy, new coach, new halves combination, and then a
- 9:15Speaker 1: new new halves combination after the injury. Cowboys being very
- 9:20Speaker 1: very disappointed. They I think they've got a great squad
- 9:23Speaker 1: there and they just the their start to the game
- 9:26Speaker 1: was so so slowly. I think we saw a lot
- 9:28Speaker 1: of that from them last year as well.
- 9:32Speaker 5: As quick as I thought that smooth, I saw that.
- 9:35Speaker 5: They looked good when they you know, played them. Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 5: and when game of footy, like you know, there was
- 9:42Speaker 5: no errors and the game was fine, but as soon
- 9:44Speaker 5: as it got a bit clunky, it just really struggled
- 9:47Speaker 5: to get it back.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Knights actually they surprised me with how
- 9:54Speaker 5: well they played like that was actually going to win.
- 9:55Speaker 1: They wouldn't spoon. I never said.
- 10:01Speaker 2: To roll the tape on that roll the tape actually said.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Anybody if your goof saw you're just sitting on the fence, mate.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yeah, probably probably, Yeah, it's just safe.
- 10:21Speaker 1: It's just a choice, make a choice.
- 10:24Speaker 3: You're going to go Dragons after that, because that was
- 10:26Speaker 3: probably the game of the round of the day.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the Dragons. That was the biggest downfall
- 10:33Speaker 1: last year. They lost so many close games, games by
- 10:36Speaker 1: one point, two points, four points, where they just kind
- 10:39Speaker 1: of couldn't get there in the end. And again that's
- 10:43Speaker 1: the way they start their season. Hopefully, you know, it's
- 10:45Speaker 1: not a bit of groundhole day for him and kind
- 10:48Speaker 1: of get over it and move forward. But we'll see
- 10:51Speaker 1: how they go. But yeah, I think the Dogs will
- 10:54Speaker 1: be disappointed. A few of their passes kind of didn't
- 10:58Speaker 1: hit the mark yesterday. They weren't as silky and as
- 11:02Speaker 1: smooth as we've seen him in the past, but a
- 11:05Speaker 1: competitive team and yeah, don't likely grow and get better.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I think they've got to buying around two so great
- 11:12Speaker 1: starts of the season us all those teams and guess
- 11:16Speaker 1: guess what, guys.
- 11:17Speaker 3: It's back and so yeah, Broncos Friday night. It's probably
- 11:21Speaker 3: too early for us to have a proper discussion about it,
- 11:23Speaker 3: so let's do that early in the next party.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Okay, sweet,
