- 0:00The Mets lose their star player. They lose their star closer.
- 0:04The Mets are in a bad spot right now.
- 0:12I've never seen a Ranger team quick before the Olympics.
- 0:15We're going to be looking at Aaron Judge and saying that he
- 0:17can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:20I played 82 games. You don't see the fun doing
- 0:23that, but Jack Hughes did after getting his team knocked out to
- 0:26play every single shift he got back in the game.
- 0:30I'm going to find him home. A7 aggression.
- 0:34I'll be going to hold me back. They're going to RIP me off.
- 0:42Take it back. This kid, go on the black.

- 2:34The weather is changing here in Long Island, New York.
- 2:36I do not like the pollen. I don't like the green all over
- 2:40your cars. The the docks are out, the the
- 2:43geese are crossing the street and the birds, you see Hawks and
- 2:48actually saw an eagle about a day ago.
- 2:51So you don't really get a chance to see eagles because they're
- 2:53American eagle. Yeah, American eagle.
- 2:55It's going eagle. They're actually going extinct.
- 2:58So when you get a chance to see something like that, it's pretty
- 3:01cool. It's pretty crazy.
- 3:02So I got a chance to see that the other day and yeah, it's
- 3:06it's always great to see the weather change.
- 3:09I don't like the heat out here. I don't like the summers here.
- 3:11I don't like the humidity. I hate it.
- 3:14But you know what that means? It means when it gets warmer
- 3:17out, it means ballparks, it means baseball.
- 3:20It means Mets, Yankees. And hopefully the Mets will get
- 3:23out of this hole because them playing Colorado and watching
- 3:26them play the last two games against Colorado, it's
- 3:28embarrassing. It is really embarrassing
- 3:31watching the New York Mets. The Mets should be ashamed of
- 3:33themselves. It doesn't even look like they
- 3:35want to go and play baseball. And what it tells me right now,
- 3:40and we will get into that also a little bit later to show is
- 3:43Mendoza could be on his way out. This this organization might be
- 3:47looking for a new manager at the end of the season.
- 3:49I, I just, and we, we're going to get into the whole Boston Red
- 3:52Sox debacle because that is an absolute embarrassment what the
- 3:56Boston Red Sox did early in the season.
- 4:00I, I'm so shocked that the the Red Sox did that.
- 4:03But again, a lot to get into tonight.
- 4:06Red Sox fire Alex Cora, ESP NS Jeff Passan reports that the
- 4:10Boston Red Sox have fired their manager, Alex Cora after seven
- 4:14seasons with the team. They fired him twice, actually.
- 4:17But no, that's a whole nother story.
- 4:18Suspended the first. Well, yeah, well, he was fired.
- 4:20Five other coaches were also fired, including three different
- 4:24hitting coaches, third base coach Kyle Hudson and bench
- 4:27coach Ramon Vasquez. Red Sox President Sam Kennedy
- 4:32said that the decision to fire Cora was entirely made by the
- 4:37chief of Chief Officer of Baseball Craig Breslow, and the
- 4:42decision was made Saturday morning after their fourth
- 4:45straight loss, including being swept by the Yankees.
- 4:48Breslow and Kennedy along with owner John Henry, yeah that
- 4:53idiot, flew to Baltimore to announce the firing to firing to
- 4:58the team after the Red Sox 17 one blowout win over the Orioles
- 5:03on Saturday. Trevor Story took shots at Craig
- 5:06Breslow and the organization, saying he questions the
- 5:09direction the team is going in and that he believed Breslow's
- 5:14answer to why he fired 5 different coaches was
- 5:18unsatisfactory. Relief pitcher Garrett Whitlock
- 5:22said that Breslow, Kennedy and Henry only talked amongst each
- 5:26other for about 10 minutes before making the decision and
- 5:31didn't even consult any of the other players.
- 5:35The Red Sox were 10 and 17 when they made the move to fire Cora
- 5:40and decided to promote their AAA manager and former MLB third
- 5:44baseman Chad Tracy to to take over as an intern manager.
- 5:51I'm sorry. This is what they're selling to
- 5:53their fans. For all you Red Sox fans, I feel
- 5:58bad for you guys, Chad Tracy. That's that's what they're going
- 6:02to buy into all season long. You are 27 games in, I'm sorry,
- 6:0828 games or 29 games into the season, 30 games.
- 6:12Let's let's just throw a number, a round Number here. 30 games
- 6:15into the season. You fire your coach, Alex Korra
- 6:20before the season even took off. The season doesn't start until
- 6:2440 games into the season. And your excuse is, well, we
- 6:31wanted to make a move. We we had to make this move.
- 6:34You didn't give any reasons and what direction you're going, But
- 6:38your direction is, hey, we're going to give you a former third
- 6:42baseman who nobody knows anything about.
- 6:45And his last name, you know what they should call Chad Tracy?
- 6:48Dick Tracy, because he's nothing but a Dick.
- 6:52He's a Dick hanging from a long strapping.
- 6:55You know what I'm not going to say because I have kids
- 6:58listening to the show, but you know where I'm going at.
- 7:01I think this is absolutely ridiculous.
- 7:05And to me, it's not. The manager Alex Kerr won a
- 7:08World Series, did he not? Not only as a an assistant
- 7:12manager with the cheating Astro team, but as a head coach, as a
- 7:18head manager for the Boston Red Sox.
- 7:21And this is what they're selling.
- 7:23This is what this organization is selling to the players as
- 7:26your shortstop, your lead guy, one of your captains of your
- 7:32team, Trevor Story comes out and says Craig Breslow and the
- 7:36organization don't know what they're doing.
- 7:38They have no clue. It's unsatisfactory.
- 7:42I, I, I, I, I know there's a lot of Red Sox fans listening to
- 7:46this show right now and probably are going to listen to my take
- 7:49care. So here's my take.
- 7:52And it it this is this is coming from a Yankee fan, but I'm not
- 7:55I'm not going to take shots at Alex Kor because I can't blame
- 7:59Alex Kor for this. I look at the organization, I
- 8:03look at the players, I look at everything that there you had a
- 8:07guy your your outfielder was in Minnesota giving the fans the
- 8:11finger. OK, Duran was giving the finger.
- 8:16What was it a week and a half ago?
- 8:18It was the story was a lead story all over sports that this
- 8:22man, because obviously he has mental issues.
- 8:26You're you're a professional athlete, you're a professional
- 8:30baseball player. And I'll give, I'll give Alex
- 8:33Gore a little credit because after the game, Alex Gore took
- 8:36responsibility for that. I'm the manager, I'm the leader
- 8:41of this team. My team should be following
- 8:43through and, and, and understand that this is this is a team
- 8:47sport. This is a fan sport.
- 8:49There's kids coming to the ball game.
- 8:52That was unsatisfactory. Alex Korra was a man about
- 8:56things. Alex Korra has been a man about
- 8:59what this team has done over the last couple of weeks.
- 9:02They don't show up to games. What the Yankees did to them is
- 9:06wipe them on the damn concrete. It was they might as well play
- 9:10on concrete because the turf for the the grass that they're
- 9:14playing on, they can't hit on. At least if they're playing on
- 9:17cement, they'll bounce in different places.
- 9:18They'll hit a rock is something because it seems like the Red
- 9:21Sox don't know what they're doing on the baseball field.
- 9:23There's more errors, there's more mistakes going on.
- 9:26They can't hit. Anthony comes out and calls his
- 9:28teammates out. Their young superstar, their
- 9:31young stud who's on Team USA come out in early in the season.
- 9:35It took shots at the team that they're not playing hard.
- 9:37They're not seeing the ball they should be playing, playing the
- 9:41numbers, playing the pitch clock, playing the pitch
- 9:43pitches, seeing the pitches, right?
- 9:46Stop forcing and swinging at the first pitch.
- 9:50This is embarrassing. And then the fans threatening
- 9:56Cam Schlidler coming out and saying all these derogatory
- 10:02things about a guy that was born in Massachusetts, grew up as a
- 10:06Boston Red Sox fan and because of what he did to the Red Sox in
- 10:10the playoffs to eliminate the play, pretty much the Red Sox
- 10:13last year and put up 11 strikeouts and completely
- 10:16dominated them. You're going to threaten this
- 10:19kid because he's a Yankee and because he's coming home to
- 10:23Boston? I'm sorry, I'm not taking shots
- 10:28at the fans. I'm not going to do it because
- 10:30everybody knows what I feel about the Boston Red Sox fans
- 10:33just as much as I I would say about the Yankee fans.
- 10:37That is disgraceful. And if you're a Boston Red Sox
- 10:41fan, you want to punish John Henry, who really doesn't give a
- 10:45crap about this team. He hasn't give a crap about this
- 10:49team for years. He bought a soccer team.
- 10:53He's invested all his money in the soccer team more than his
- 10:57baseball team. You had a star for star third
- 11:01baseman that you paid $300 million that you forced out for
- 11:07Bregman, and then Bregman didn't even resign with you last year
- 11:11in the offseason. He goes to the Cubs.
- 11:13What kind of crap is that? What excuse do you have on that?
- 11:18You bought into Bregman. You gave up on the player that
- 11:23you paid $300 million who you wouldn't let go to the Mets.
- 11:28He goes to the Giants. You get nothing, absolutely
- 11:32nothing for the from the. They already traded the top
- 11:35prospect in that deal to Milwaukee.
- 11:38It's embarrassing. This organization is falling
- 11:42apart right in front of every fans, feet and eyes from up and
- 11:47down. There's no excuse for this team,
- 11:49this organization, and the fact that you fire the manager, the
- 11:52guy that has LED this team to the promised land, has won a
- 11:57championship with this team, and you're going to just give up on
- 12:00him in 30 games? It's despicable.
- 12:04Yeah, and John Henry is definitely changed his tune of
- 12:08what he was in previous years when he was the owner.
- 12:10I always said that the Red Sox were one of those teams that
- 12:13were the one of the best strangely operating good teams
- 12:17I've seen in sports for a while when they were winning World
- 12:19Series in the most unconventional ways.
- 12:21I compared it a lot with the way that the Eagles, they do a lot
- 12:24of things now. They're more stable, but I'd say
- 12:26they usually do a lot of bold moves all at once.
- 12:28You think about it, when they got rid of Andy Reed and they
- 12:31hired Chip Kelly and they actually started doing well
- 12:33right away, and then they won a Super Bowl five years later.
- 12:34The Red Sox did the same thing. They fired Terry Francon after
- 12:372012. They win a World Series with
- 12:38John Farrell in 2013, which was the strangest one seed ever I've
- 12:42ever seen win a World Series. And then they tear it all down
- 12:46and they signed Pablo Sandoval and all those bad contractors
- 12:48and they go back down. They go back up again with Cora
- 12:51Grant said. I thought they were cheating at
- 12:52the time too. When Cora went over there.
- 12:54I thought they were going to get pushed worse than the Astros.
- 12:55I was wrong on that. I argued with Jeff at the time.
- 12:58Jeff, you won that one. But it's a strangely operating
- 13:01good team. But again, who's behind all
- 13:02that? John Henry and what?
- 13:04The last year when you were on your cruise, the Devers trade
- 13:07came out and I did the weekend crunch with Josh and he was
- 13:09mentioning because. I got a text from Josh.
- 13:12I remember the cruise we were on.
- 13:14I got it. I remember I that was the time.
- 13:17If I'm not mistaken, that was the cruise with the Chiefs.
- 13:19Right. No, no, that was last.
- 13:20That was the last. That was in 2023.
- 13:22I remember that one too. No, that was you wanted to
- 13:24throw, throw something at the TV.
- 13:26Well, I, I was about to, I had a drink in my hands, a drink of
- 13:29water, and I almost threw it. I was seriously standing there
- 13:32because I'll never forget Sauce Gunner got called for a penalty
- 13:35when he didn't have a penalty and the and The Jets were going
- 13:38to win that game and they called the penalty on him and which
- 13:41gave the Kansas City Chiefs a chance to take the ball right
- 13:44down the field and win the game. Right.
- 13:45And it was like Zach Wilson's best game of career played
- 13:48Patrick Mahogan. 297 yard please.
- 13:50Stop, stop, stop, stop. I don't hear anything.
- 13:52But yeah, this crew, this was your cruise last year and the
- 13:55Devers trade came out later that week.
- 13:57And I, I did the weekend crunch with Josh.
- 13:59And Josh is a big Premier League fan.
- 14:00He's an Arsenal fan. He was saying he was going
- 14:02through how much he real John Henry really cares about
- 14:04Liverpool more than he cares about the Red Sox.
- 14:06He's right. And it was a really distinct
- 14:08difference that you could tell now with the way this new
- 14:10ownership is going and the way this team has really changed
- 14:14from what they were. Now, let me ask you a question.
- 14:16You bring in Theo Epstein, He leaves baseball.
- 14:19He was the VP of player personnel.
- 14:21Whatever he was doing over there for baseball, he comes in, he's
- 14:24a partial owner now of this organization.
- 14:26Why isn't he involved with this this three man conversation?
- 14:32Because to me, if I'm Theo Epstein, who I think is one of
- 14:34the smartest baseball minds baseball has seen in about 40
- 14:39years, this guy is one of the most intelligent people in
- 14:42baseball. You brought this guy.
- 14:44He's a partner in this organization.
- 14:46Why isn't he making these decisions?
- 14:48Why isn't he out there figuring out what works and what doesn't?
- 14:51Because to me, all I see what Theo Epstein is doing is
- 14:55collecting a paycheck. That's all I'm seeing.
- 14:59And if I were the Boston Red Sox today, tomorrow or the next day,
- 15:04I'm reaching out to Theo FC and asking him to take over this
- 15:07team, become the GM of this team, and rebuild this debacle.
- 15:10Because this organization has been an absolute debacle since
- 15:14he's walked away from it. He went to Chicago.
- 15:16He wins another World Series with a team that hasn't won a
- 15:18World Series in 100 years. Yeah.
- 15:22And I was going to say too, like Heim Bloom was over there for a
- 15:24while and that's when they trade all way a lot of those core
- 15:27pieces from 2018 and a lot of people thought he was the
- 15:29problem at the time. But again, you're when Henry has
- 15:32that much control, we've talked about in other sports too, and
- 15:34the ownership gets in the way so much and it deters a lot of
- 15:36these players. I'm not saying Craig Branslow is
- 15:38off the hook either, because he hasn't done very good things
- 15:40either. But they have a lot of good
- 15:42young players. They have a good player
- 15:43development system that I think has worked.
- 15:45Now the pitchers have to stay healthy.
- 15:46That's a big key. And obviously Crochets had a bad
- 15:48start to. The year, If I was the Guardians
- 15:50right now, I would I would bring Theo Epstein in because he's
- 15:54been doing it with every other organization.
- 15:56I would reach out to Theo Epstein, sell the whatever you
- 15:59own, whatever piece you own, 5% or Tom Brady's 10%, leave the
- 16:03organization. Go over there to the Guardians,
- 16:06win them a championship. They'll give you 25% of that
- 16:08organization. Why not spin the wheel?
- 16:11Make. The deal?
- 16:12It might be the second best team in the American League after the
- 16:14Yankees right now. Yeah, maybe worth a flyer.
- 16:16The Guardians are remarkable. They're a remarkable
- 16:19organization because it seems like and right now they're
- 16:22playing great baseball, but they usually are horrible in the
- 16:25first half and for some reason in the second-half, they're the
- 16:28hottest team in baseball. They win like 50 out of the next
- 16:3070 games. It's, it's ridiculous how good
- 16:33the Guardian. And now the Guardians are
- 16:34playing great baseball. Now they go into the second-half
- 16:36and they just take, you know, take off.
- 16:39Yeah. And and they, they could be a
- 16:40World Series contending team. They have a great bullpen right
- 16:42now. They always do.
- 16:43Yeah. And.
- 16:44That's what I was going to get at 2 with the Red Sox.
- 16:45I think the American League, probably outside of Cleveland
- 16:48and the Yankees, and I would say the Rays that have played well.
- 16:50There's a lot of mediocrity in it.
- 16:52Which is another team that's very surprising right now, the
- 16:55Rays. Right.
- 16:56And that's why I think there's still an OP opening to make it
- 16:58work for the Red Sox. And that's why you can't have
- 17:00these players like Trevor Story get frustrated like Duran, like
- 17:03you were saying, get frustrated in certain instances.
- 17:06And they might need this kind of culture change.
- 17:08They're they're not like the Mets.
- 17:09They're. Not OK.
- 17:09So, so I'm sorry to cut you off. Trevor Story is right now
- 17:13hitting 198. Duran is hitting 189.
- 17:17The two players that are opening their big mouths are the two
- 17:21players that are not even hitting over 200.
- 17:24And these are two players that are All Stars.
- 17:26These are two players that, well, Trevor Stories, who got
- 17:29paid a lot of money to come here.
- 17:31And he is not wrong about Alex Gore.
- 17:34He's not. But I don't want to hear it from
- 17:37him. I want to hear it from Abreu.
- 17:40I want to hear it from the guy that's actually hitting the
- 17:41ball. That's what I want to hear.
- 17:43I want to hear it from my best player right right now.
- 17:46And by the way, it seems like Roman Anthony's got a lot to
- 17:48say, but he's hitting 217. The guy hasn't hit.
- 17:51He wasn't hitting in the the Baseball Classic and he the WBC
- 17:55and he's not hitting now. Yeah, William Brady was hitting.
- 17:57I think he was on that Venezuela team.
- 17:59It, it seems like it's Venezuela all the way.
- 18:02I mean, it's like Chip and Dale rescue Rangers here, man.
- 18:05I mean, seriously, I am lost, man.
- 18:07I, I, I, I feel like everybody said that the Yankees, they're,
- 18:12they're looking like a team that's going to eventually fall
- 18:15apart. They have old management still
- 18:18there, Brian Cashman, get rid of him, walk away from him.
- 18:22But the Yankees seem to find a way to win games.
- 18:25They seem to find a way to make the playoffs every single year.
- 18:28They they slow, slow, slowly and quietly make very small moves in
- 18:33the offseason that everybody was shaking their head saying, Oh,
- 18:37well, these aren't good enough to win a championship.
- 18:40But the Yankees were on A8 game-winning streak.
- 18:43They finally lose a game. Aaron Judge is actually not
- 18:46having the season that he he was having last year.
- 18:49But he's it looks like he's still going to hit home runs.
- 18:51He's still going to get his RBIs.
- 18:53He's still going to everybody else is hitting.
- 18:55I mean, Rice right now is looking like he's looking like
- 18:58Babe Ruth right now. I mean, it's unbelievable what
- 19:02the Yankees are doing right now. And it's not even their stars
- 19:05showing up to these games. It is pathetic.
- 19:08This, this garbage is pathetic. And this organization should be
- 19:13bringing Theo Epstein in these conversation.
- 19:15John Harry should be away. Keep that man away from this
- 19:19team in this organization. That man has done nothing good
- 19:23to this organization in 10 years.
- 19:26He has brought GM after GM. How many GMs have they had in
- 19:29the last 10 years? Seriously, it's got to be about
- 19:323 or 4. Yeah, I think 3.
- 19:33Since I got rid of it, I can't. I remember the first guy's name,
- 19:35but it was Bloom. And Theo Epstein was there.
- 19:38Theo Epstein was there for almost 8 years and he won 3
- 19:42championships. I I mean, that's winning.
- 19:47That is a smart man. That's the guy you brought in as
- 19:51a partner. Why isn't he making these
- 19:54decisions? Why isn't he at that little
- 19:57crowded management table making decisions?
- 20:00The smart man that actually knows how to build a baseball
- 20:03team and win. It's.
- 20:06Pathetic. Yeah.
- 20:07And you mentioned a lot of these things, like they have to stay
- 20:09away with Henry and Breslow, especially for making these
- 20:12irrational comments we saw last year, obviously during that
- 20:15whole Dever saga, which was ugly.
- 20:16I didn't even get to Breslow. Yeah, which was ugly for about 5
- 20:19months and Breslow I think really made it worse.
- 20:22Rob Manfred, bitch, let me tell you.
- 20:24And I know, I know Jabba and Goody last year on our show was
- 20:27mentioning a lot that having players in the front office can
- 20:30be a good thing, which I do agree to an extent.
- 20:32But I think it's different when you go to this level of extreme
- 20:35and you have a lot of players like Devers that got disturbed
- 20:37in the most extreme level. And I give the young players a
- 20:39lot of credit for them still being able to be a good team
- 20:41amidst all that, all that drama that they didn't need to bring
- 20:44on. And in previous years, you saw
- 20:46the Red Sox overcome that drama with their veteran guys, and now
- 20:48they're trying to deal with their young guys.
- 20:49But it's just harder when you have a lot of these veteran guys
- 20:51are going against the green now and you create a team now that's
- 20:5411:00 and 7:00 17 still trying to battle in a lot of ways.
- 20:58But you also have young guys like you said, William Brady
- 21:00that's hitting. Look at the rookie you top
- 21:02prospect Connelly early pitch yesterday pitched very well.
- 21:05And it's still this drama that's now happened to them and they
- 21:07have these young players striving.
- 21:09These veteran players are deterred by the fact that
- 21:11Breslow just went behind their back and did nothing.
- 21:14And John Henry is continuing to be just the only caring about is
- 21:18Liverpool team that wins some Premier League championships.
- 21:20But the Red Sox haven't won since that 2018 title.
- 21:23Exactly. So that's the that's what I was
- 21:25going to say. I was like, they're not winning.
- 21:27It's inconsistent with the bullpens.
- 21:29It's consistent managing the team talent everywhere.
- 21:32So I don't see, you know what everybody knows once you play a
- 21:36robbery, which quote UN quote, New York Knicks.
- 21:38I mean New York Yankees here I am talking like you tonight.
- 21:42New York Yankees is the robbery talking about them?
- 21:46Talking about me. Called the Knicks Yankees
- 21:48earlier. Oh, so cuz I messed up with the
- 21:52Knicks. I mean it was completely
- 21:53different. It was New York is different
- 21:56from Boston, buddy. New York is different from
- 21:58Boston. Don't throw the Boston and and
- 22:01New York in in terms of questioning.
- 22:03I'm sorry but I'm just I have to add that.
- 22:07Yeah. So without inconsistent and them
- 22:09losing and then on top of that getting swept by the Yankees.
- 22:12And then, you know, we talked about this on a previous episode
- 22:15about how baseball is going analytic.
- 22:18There's a there's a lot of people in front office that, you
- 22:21know, keep tracks of these things.
- 22:22And when they see that, yeah, you know, the manager is
- 22:25inconsistent. He doesn't really have control
- 22:27over the team. You got to believe that they're
- 22:29going to make an adjustment in very soon, just like they do
- 22:32with any team that basically promotes analytics over talent
- 22:37and. Every team promotes analytics in
- 22:38baseball. It's the biggest thing.
- 22:41Even the ones that are small market, even the ones that are
- 22:43not considered the home run teams.
- 22:44We talked about it last year with a lot of guests that were
- 22:46with the Milwaukee Brewers. Like the Milwaukee Brewers are
- 22:49not known as this flashy power hitting team type thing, but
- 22:51they still really use analytics to their best advantage in other
- 22:54parts of their player development system and they go
- 22:56into this year as the number one farm system in baseball.
- 22:59I got a question for all you fans.
- 23:00Craig Breslow, All right, I, I mean, anybody who knows who he
- 23:06is, He was a pitcher in the major leagues.
- 23:08He was a left-handed pitcher. I remember him more with the
- 23:11Blue Jays. But I I know he's a Connecticut
- 23:13born guy. He grew up a Red Sox fan.
- 23:16Why are they taking advice from this man?
- 23:21This guy career career is absolutely putrid.
- 23:24I mean, Jabba has better numbers than this guy, all right, 23 and
- 23:2933.45 ERA. The guy is played in 576 games.
- 23:34This is the guy they're taking advice from.
- 23:36I understand if it's Rodger Clemens, I understand if it's
- 23:39Andy Pettitte or I understand if it's anybody.
- 23:42How about Pedro Martinez? How about bringing a real
- 23:44baseball mine in that actually knows what he's doing, is
- 23:47actually a smart man and actually knows what Boston Red
- 23:51Sox organization knows how to win and knows how to run and and
- 23:55and be a consider. How about this bring Kurt
- 23:57Schilling in. He's more controversial than
- 24:00anybody. He knows baseball.
- 24:02I listen to I've listened to some of the things that he's
- 24:05been on podcasts. You have this man Craig Breslow
- 24:11making decisions like this. This is embarrassing and you
- 24:16have your own players throwing you under the bus now.
- 24:19I mean, how long does it go? How long is this going to take
- 24:23until the organization, John Henry and management, Sam
- 24:27Kennedy decides that this guy is an absolute ridiculous?
- 24:32I want to say I don't want to use the word because I know
- 24:34Speedy doesn't like it. I wanted to do it, but I'm going
- 24:37to be very nice on it. The guy's an idiot.
- 24:40Isn't it great? Isn't this just great I've been
- 24:43waiting for since I guess, 2004 for them to stink again.
- 24:49This is wonderful. Even when they had a down season
- 24:52before, you knew they were still good.
- 24:53They had that core. It was Dombrowski was the GM
- 24:56back in the day. You said it best, Dombrowski.
- 24:59But he was the best one they had.
- 25:01He he left after the championship in 2018.
- 25:05So they had one more year he was gone and then they replaced him
- 25:07with High in Bloom. I'll give him the hub from for
- 25:09For the People and I'll tell you what.
- 25:11I'll tell you what. He was horrible, that guy, one
- 25:15of the worst GMs, and he was succeeded by the worst one in
- 25:18Craig Bip Breslow. This guy's got an ego problem,
- 25:20Errol. This is what happened.
- 25:22He did not want to deal with Cora having more managerial
- 25:26power than the average manager does today.
- 25:28That has to take all their stuff from the front office from him,
- 25:32and that's what happened. You could see the fighting all
- 25:35season. Guess what?
- 25:36Trevor Story, he's on the market tonight.
- 25:39He can be traded within a couple of days.
- 25:41It's going to be the Breslow vision and it's going to be
- 25:44terrible. I'm here for it.
- 25:46I love the fact that they're going to stink that their
- 25:47prospects were all overrated like they always said about the
- 25:50Yankees prospect. I can't wait to you Boston fans
- 25:55have to deal with this. I've got this place disaster.
- 25:57I've got something for you. If I met Craig Breslow, I would
- 26:00say Craig Breslow. Ego problem.
- 26:03This is Quinton Coppols. Quinton Coppols, Craig Breslow.
- 26:06Nice to meet you. Let's.
- 26:07Do it, let's do it. You'll be the perfect candidate.
- 26:12And you squeeze his head like a melon.
- 26:14OK, cuz I honestly, this is really funny.
- 26:20This is this is something that you would not expect from the
- 26:23Boston Red Sox organization. They've been a very smart
- 26:26organization over the years. I think they're they were very
- 26:31well run when Theo Epstein was there.
- 26:33Dombrowski is an idiot. I don't care if they won.
- 26:35They they bought players to win that championship That that's
- 26:39that's why they won And and things had to fall, right.
- 26:41And Alex Cora has been a really good manager.
- 26:45If you look at his numbers, how many, how many guys, how many
- 26:49managers in the league have better numbers than Alex Cora
- 26:52does in his career as a head manager?
- 26:55I mean, seriously, you, you, you look at him, he's a top five
- 26:58guy. He is going to be on the market
- 27:00next year. He's going to get a job.
- 27:03Somebody's going to hire him, so maybe the Astros, just probably.
- 27:09Maybe the Mets. No, that's a good idea.
- 27:12They're not going to do that. I'm telling, I was telling it to
- 27:14Nathan in the private chat. They're not going to do that
- 27:16because they're going to look bad for passing on Carlos
- 27:18Beltran because of the cheating scandal in Houston that came out
- 27:21right at that time when they were all ready to hire him.
- 27:23And then they got rid of him and the Red Sox did the same thing.
- 27:25They suspended Cora and then they brought him back in 2020 to
- 27:282021. So they're not going to do it.
- 27:30Yeah. That's that in the Stearns is an
- 27:32egomaniac like Breslow as well, and would never allow the core
- 27:36to have the type of control that he would want to have as a
- 27:38manager. It's a shame because those are
- 27:41the types of managers that the players love to play for.
- 27:43It's obvious every single time. It's not these MIT nerds from,
- 27:47you know, Lenny from NIT that invented the torpedo bat in a
- 27:51lab a couple of years ago that's telling you how to play
- 27:54baseball. Job with an.
- 27:55Advocates, you know, and, and a ChatGPT math program, like, I
- 28:00mean, come on, like that. This is what it's become.
- 28:02And some teams are embracing it. And it seems like John Henry,
- 28:06who just cares about the dollars and cents right now, has
- 28:09embraced a guy who's just going to treat it like a business, not
- 28:12a sport. Not a I'm going to help them
- 28:13out. I'm going to help them out.
- 28:15I'm going to buy a year's worth the supply of Yankee, you know,
- 28:19Kleenex, you know, nice, nice napkins.
- 28:22And I'll send it over there to the Red Sox fans and and maybe
- 28:26we'll have a box for every one of those fans for 55,000 people.
- 28:30Because honestly, as an organization and I, I feel bad
- 28:34for the Boston fans because the Boston Red Sox fans are to me so
- 28:38dedicated to their team. They show up every game.
- 28:41They sell out almost every single game.
- 28:44Fenway Park is one of the nicest stadiums to go to.
- 28:47I'm not a, I'm not a fan of the fans, but at least they're
- 28:50they're, they, they're the backbone of that.
- 28:52Organization. Yeah, they're the backbone of
- 28:54that organization. And to see this organization
- 28:57completely fall apart 202829 games into the season and just
- 29:03give up on the season because that's what they did.
- 29:05And they added Chad Tracy, Dick Tracy to to run that
- 29:10organization. I mean, it's I.
- 29:14But I mean, I would, I would, I'm, I'm celebrating just like
- 29:17everybody else. I'm not celebrating anything.
- 29:19Listen when the Red Sox. Listen, as a Yankee fan, you got
- 29:22to. Celebrate.
- 29:22No, because when the Red Sox are bad, it's not fun.
- 29:26It's not fun. That's what I said.
- 29:27That's the only part that we missed.
- 29:28But who won't take an easier road to the World Series like.
- 29:33Dude, the Yankees don't have to worry about the Red Sox.
- 29:36That's not the team to worry about.
- 29:37Right. No, I know one less team don't
- 29:40have to worry about. And I told everybody, this is
- 29:42the year that the Blue Jays are going to fall off.
- 29:44They spend money. They spend money and then they
- 29:47fall off. They're not the same team as
- 29:49they were last year. They wanted this ultimate No,
- 29:52it's true. He did me.
- 29:54Earl agrees with you speaking, you jinx.
- 29:55No, my playoff picks, My playoff picks were.
- 29:58Wait a second. When I make picks, my friend,
- 30:01I'm actually on. So I have Colorado win the NHL
- 30:04Stanley Cup before the season started.
- 30:07I had it. So you're going to tell me I
- 30:08made picks and all that other stuff.
- 30:10I also going into the playoffs, I had seat Seattle going all the
- 30:13way to to the the Super Bowl can.
- 30:15We verify that fish. You can verify whatever you
- 30:17want, it's not a lie. He definitely had the Avalanche
- 30:21one, I remember that vividly. The Seattle one?
- 30:23Speedy, probably. I thought you had the Eagles
- 30:25going back. I thank you.
- 30:26No, I didn't. Thank you.
- 30:27No, I didn't. No idea.
- 30:29No. You had Buffalo in the AFC.
- 30:30I had Buffalo. I had Buffalo.
- 30:33I had Buffalo going in, going into the playoffs.
- 30:36Going into the playoffs, I had Seattle and Buffalo.
- 30:40That's what I had. Oh my God, I did.
- 30:42And you want to know something? Buffalo should have been in the
- 30:44Super Bowl. No, they should.
- 30:46Yes, they should have. They got robbed.
- 30:47They absolutely got robbed. They got robbed.
- 30:50They got robbed. That was not an interception.
- 30:53That was catch by coach. We should be billionaires.
- 30:57We're going to be after I smack you around, you know?
- 31:03I love that you could be a billionaire and just waste money
- 31:05on Sonny Gray in the offseason. Look at these moves they made.
- 31:09Look at these moves. Sonny Gray.
- 31:10I'm pretty sure he's already hurt.
- 31:11They had. They get it.
- 31:13Johann Oviedo to be in the rotation.
- 31:17I'm pretty sure he's terrible. What a name he's.
- 31:19Only a big back end guy. They're they have the younger
- 31:21guys that are when they're healthy.
- 31:22But still not good. Ranger Suarez is a good pitcher.
- 31:27He's having a good. He's pitching really well
- 31:29tonight, but he's been up and down.
- 31:31He's someone who doesn't rely on velocity, so.
- 31:33Great playoff pitcher. Great playoff.
- 31:35There he's he's really, really good, but he throws 91 right and
- 31:40guys like that only have another year or two left that they can
- 31:42stay over 90 and then it's not what they do, but doesn't work
- 31:45as well anymore. He'll go and so.
- 31:46That's a five year deal, but five years, 130 million for your
- 31:52long reliever that look at these deals Breslow was making this
- 31:55offseason. It's just terrible.
- 31:56They added Wilson Contreras, who doesn't play the field really
- 32:00anymore. Really good bats still, but he's
- 32:02ADH, he's ADH now officially basically right.
- 32:05He'll play if he play any first, he might play a little first.
- 32:07He's terrible and they got Caleb Durbin, who I'm mad that they
- 32:10they got, but he hasn't been good yet either.
- 32:13So and IKF and they signed IKEA, IKF.
- 32:18That was their offseason. Two future Yankee killers.
- 32:22Come on, IKF. Raise.
- 32:23It poor IKF that actually went to the World Series with the
- 32:26Blue Jays last year, actually played well and now sucks for
- 32:30the Red Sox. Wonderful.
- 32:32Absolute home runs. Thank you.
- 32:34Breslow. If I was a Breslow fan, but I'm
- 32:36not, so I'd smack him around and put my foot in his ass because
- 32:40this is absolutely ridiculous. And if I'm Theo Epstein right
- 32:44now, I'd sell my piece of the team and get the hell out of
- 32:47there because I there's nothing that's and everybody, everything
- 32:50that I've read is he's been working more.
- 32:53Theo Epstein's been working more with the soccer team than he has
- 32:56with the baseball team, which is a problem right now.
- 32:59Soccer's big money, man. It's not the point.
- 33:01That's not the. That's not the point.
- 33:03It is you. Own both of them.
- 33:05You got it. That's similar you.
- 33:07Own a piece of the Red Sox, the organization that you helped
- 33:11beat the Bambito Curse. That's what you did, and you
- 33:15didn't do it once. You did it three times.
- 33:18That's what you did. The Red Sox didn't win a
- 33:20championship for almost 100 years, 100 years, and this man
- 33:26found a way to put a team together.
- 33:29He brought Curt Schilling in there.
- 33:30He had Pedro Martinez, he had all these guys.
- 33:33He built this roster. Ramirez, you had.
- 33:37You had Big Poppy. You built your teeth.
- 33:40You had, to me, one of the more dominant forces.
- 33:45And then you decide to leave baseball because honestly, I'll
- 33:48tell you this straight out. If Theo Epstein was still there
- 33:52working for baseball in 2028, when Rob Manfred or man ass his
- 34:00contract's up, Theo Epstein takes that job.
- 34:03He's running baseball. He is 100% running baseball.
- 34:08Tony Larussa was too old. That's why he stepped down.
- 34:11As we all know how many people got into the Hall of Fame
- 34:13because of Tony. Joe Torre is getting up there in
- 34:16age. He's obviously not doing so well
- 34:20as as what, a baseball fight, VP of baseball operations right
- 34:24now. I think, I think that's his
- 34:25position right now. There's nothing that tells me as
- 34:31a if you're a Red Sox fan that this isn't going to tip and it's
- 34:35going to tip bad. And they have a good young core
- 34:39of players. They do.
- 34:40They have a bunch of guys. But what's it going to take
- 34:42when, when eventually Anthony decides I don't want to be here,
- 34:46I don't want to play for this organization, Trade me.
- 34:49And for, for what he's worth, he just signed a long term deal,
- 34:53$100 million in. It's a very affordable contract
- 34:57where he can go and, and you can get a lot back for him because
- 35:01if he goes in there and he tells ownership that I listen, I don't
- 35:04want to be here anymore. I, I, I don't want to be working
- 35:07and playing for this organization.
- 35:09That's been an absolute debacle. You don't keep them out.
- 35:11You don't go to the players, you don't talk to the players before
- 35:13you decide to fire our manager before the season even started.
- 35:17You've given up on a season before the season even starting.
- 35:20You hired Dick Tracy to run this organization.
- 35:26Man, man. Tired Tracy.
- 35:28Man. Yeah, I'm lost.
- 35:30He's going to hear this and he's going to find.
- 35:33You I don't You think I care? This is This is.
- 35:37I don't. I don't.
- 35:38I don't. I don't, I don't.
- 35:39This is pathetic. I, I don't care.
- 35:41This is pathetic. I feel bad.
- 35:44I feel bad for the Red Sox fans. I actually feel bad for you
- 35:48guys, for all the Red Sox fans listening to the show or going
- 35:51to listen to the show when the show is over.
- 35:55My heart goes out to you guys. It really does.
- 35:58No, it doesn't. I don't care.
- 35:59I don't care. Screw the Red Sox.
- 36:02Screw the Red Sox fan. There you go.
- 36:04I'm sorry. I'm here for it.
- 36:07Let's go. I'm not going to beat around the
- 36:10Bush. The Bush is already burned.
- 36:12Cute, cute. Don't worry about that.
- 36:14Our two most common claiming Red Sox fan listeners are now Mets
- 36:18fans. No doubt about it.
- 36:21Welcome. Welcome to the dungeon.
- 36:24It's a dungeon, all right. It is a dungeon.
- 36:27Speaking of dungeons, you know, we're we're waiting for a guest.
- 36:30Our guest is going to be coming in in just a few moments.
- 36:33But I do have a very special segment as we call this ladies,
- 36:38man, ladies and gentlemen. I don't know, should I, should I
- 36:41say it nice, speedy, or should I say it a little bit better?
- 36:43How about just give it a golf clap?
- 36:45That's what I'm going to do. Give it a golf clap.
- 36:48His deserves a golf clap, no doubt.
- 36:51Golf clap. Golf clap.
- 36:54Well, my golf clap goes to one guy.
- 36:58A guy that I have interested, I've been so interested in
- 37:03meeting over the last couple of weeks.
- 37:05A guy that is controversial, but a guy that I thought is going to
- 37:10have a great season with the Long Island Ducks.
- 37:13A guy that I believe is one of the best pitchers in all of
- 37:17baseball, not in the major leagues right now and should
- 37:20have a chance. And that goes to Trevor Bauer
- 37:24and I'll say this. Trevor Bauer, I saw his first
- 37:28game, I was there in the first game and I got a chance to see
- 37:31him pitch. He had eight strikeouts, 2
- 37:33earned runs, 93 pitches, 53 strikes that he pitched great.
- 37:38It was cold. It was 42°, but I knew, I knew
- 37:42that once it got warm that this guy is going to dominate for the
- 37:46Long Island Ducks. And this isn't the first no
- 37:48hitter. He's going to pitch guys.
- 37:50He's going to pitch multiple no hitters this year in this
- 37:54league. This guy's got 10 pitches.
- 37:57This guy is as dominant when he is on.
- 38:01He is unhittable. Unhittable and everybody.
- 38:05You could say you don't like him.
- 38:07You can say that he is controversial, he's mean, he's
- 38:10disrespectful, he doesn't know how to treat women.
- 38:12That's your decision to and that's your prerogative.
- 38:15My prerogative here is it's very strong.
- 38:17The guy is at right now pitching a 1.64 ERA in two games right
- 38:23now. He is pitching at such a high
- 38:27level and he hasn't even started guys.
- 38:29He has not even started the season, hasn't even started for
- 38:31this man, and he's already pitched a no hitter 7 innings, 7
- 38:37innings of dominant pitching and everybody, it's only coming.
- 38:43We might see a perfect game this year.
- 38:46That's how good Trevor Bauer is. And baseball should be ashamed
- 38:50of themselves, shamed of them themselves.
- 38:53Think about it. Trevor Bauer won the Cy Young in
- 38:56Japan, won the Cy Young in Mexico, and this man still
- 39:05doesn't have a job in the major leagues.
- 39:07Doesn't make any sense. He knows he's being blackballed.
- 39:11I've interviewed him twice, not once, but twice already this
- 39:14season, and I'm going to interview him more.
- 39:17I'm try. I'm going to try to get him on
- 39:18the show. You know why?
- 39:20Because I love this man. I think this man personally is
- 39:24one of the more unique personalities that baseball
- 39:30should want back in the league. There is nothing wrong with this
- 39:35man. He speaks from his heart.
- 39:38He goes out there, plays hard, plays at a high level.
- 39:41He has such emotion. Who doesn't like an emotional
- 39:45personality that goes out there? The teammates call him uncle.
- 39:50He's 35 years old. He's taking a leadership role
- 39:53over there with the Ducks. He wants to come to America and
- 39:56play a front in front of all the American fans, sign autographs,
- 39:59go out there and play hard every single game.
- 40:04And Rob Manfred. And every single team in
- 40:08baseball are has given up on this man, has given up on a
- 40:13person that deserves to be there, deserves to be at a high
- 40:16level. How many pitchers do you know in
- 40:19the major leagues today have 10 pitches?
- 40:21Sweetie, we were talking about this.
- 40:24He's one of very few I would trust to believe that claim. 10
- 40:27pitches and this guy is playing at such a high level right now
- 40:33and it's not even warm. It's not even hot.
- 40:35It's 62°. He pitched a no hitter in seven
- 40:39innings. I'm going to tell you this guys,
- 40:42this guy is probably going to pitch closer to 1 by the end of
- 40:46the season. He is going to have right now,
- 40:48he has, if I'm not mistaken, 17 or 18 strikeouts in two games.
- 40:53If he pitches between 25 and 30 games this year, the guy is
- 40:58going to absolutely have the strikeout record in in that
- 41:01division in the Long Island Ducks division.
- 41:04He is going to be probably have the best CRA any pitchers had in
- 41:08a 25 game or more season run. This guy is the best pitcher
- 41:15right now and I will tell you, I'll tell you this right now, if
- 41:18you want to throw this, throw this and let it stick.
- 41:21This guy would be a top ten pitcher right now in baseball if
- 41:24he was playing in the major leagues right now.
- 41:26It's a shame that he's never going to get a chance and he's
- 41:29he's taking that. He understands that.
- 41:32But I, I love it. I love what is going on right
- 41:35now. Seeing a kid, seeing a guy
- 41:37actually show up to Long Island telling me he's loving his time
- 41:41here, getting a chance to eat the food and enjoy the people
- 41:44and the fans and the excitement of baseball here in New York.
- 41:49And I'm just happy he's here. So my Golf Club goes to Trevor
- 41:53Bauer, 7 innings, no hitter, one walk.
- 41:58This guy is the best pitcher right now in my eyes, not only
- 42:03in long, not not only for the Long Island Ducks in in in that
- 42:08Baseball League. I can tell you right now he's
- 42:10one of the top ten top 15 pitches in baseball in the
- 42:14country. And you can sell that and you
- 42:18can throw that and hope that sticks because it's true.
- 42:20Sell that, baby. Congratulations to Trevor Bauer,
- 42:24I expect more from you. I expect to see maybe a perfect
- 42:27game. Maybe another three or four no
- 42:30hitters this year. I wouldn't even doubt it.
- 42:32I think the guy is that dominant.
- 42:34So congratulations to Trevor Bauer.
- 42:35I expect more from him and I expect him to be as elite as
- 42:40we've seen so far in two games. So that's my Golf Club.

- 43:49Thank you to Nathan. And you know, it's been great.
- 43:52I'm going to be working on a Trevor Bauer story tonight with
- 43:55his no hit. I am not going to make it to his
- 43:59pitching on Saturday. So somebody's going to go on my
- 44:02stay. But I will say this.
- 44:04I I love interviewing him. I think he's a great he's a
- 44:08great personality. And I think people when you get
- 44:10to know him and, and get to see what type of person that he is
- 44:12on and off the field, you, you kind of you kind of fall in love
- 44:16with him as as a player and, and I think that's what he is.
- 44:19I think the media really loves him.
- 44:20He's a media darling and and you can see it and the fans love him
- 44:24over there too. So anyways, that's it.
- 44:26We'll see you on Thursday, is the.
- 44:33Worldwide sports radio network. Found me.
