Casino. Welcome to 70x80, the section of 7080
• 1:13
.it dedicated to the deepening of the topics
• 1:16
discussed in the articles of the portal. We are
• 1:18
with the director Massimo Lualdi who introduces
• 1:20
the today's topic. What are we talking about
• 1:23
today? Fiction. It went viral in the United States
• 1:26
on CBS for 122 episodes for five seasons, from
• 1:29
1971 to 1976. Canon is an American television
• 1:34
series of the police genre, nominated for an
• 1:37
Emmy in 1973 and for a Golden Globe for Best
• 1:40
Dramatic Fiction in 1974. In its turn, the actor
• 2:03
and protagonist William Conrad was nominated
• 2:05
for two Golden Globes as Best Actor in a Dramatic
• 2:09
Series in 1973 and 1974. The series, produced
• 2:12
by Quinn Martin, drew some inspiration from the
• 2:15
1968 fiction Tenente Columbo and anticipated,
• 2:19
in a way, the 74's Inspector Derrick, also giving
• 2:23
inspiration to Benny Hill to make a parody of
• 2:25
him in his show Benny Hill Show. From the series
• 2:28
was also taken the film Return of Frank Cannon
• 2:49
It's all over my shoes, my pants. Sorry. Gun
• 2:54
shoes are clumsy again. Just the first episode
• 2:58
of Barnaby Jones, Requiem for a Son, had been
• 3:00
planned as a canon episode of the second season,
• 3:04
but when Barnaby Jones was sold as a separate
• 3:06
fiction, the script was reworked in the first
• 3:10
of that series, which with 178 episodes over
• 3:12
8 seasons from 1973 to 1980, surpassed the original
• 3:18
one. After serving the state first as a military
• 3:20
in the Korean War and then as a detective in
• 3:23
the Los Angeles Police Department, Frank Shannon
• 3:26
retired after the tragic death of his wife and
• 3:29
son in a car accident to undertake his career
• 3:33
as a private investigator. The television series
• 3:41
begins precisely at the moment when Cannon begins
• 3:43
this new phase of his life. The pilot resumes
• 3:46
after a period of two and a half months spent
• 3:48
abroad for an investigation into the disappearance
• 3:51
of a friend. The circumstances of the death of
• 3:54
the son's wife remain dark in the first four
• 3:56
seasons of the fiction. However, the first episode
• 3:59
of the last season focuses on the investigation
• 4:01
of Cannon on the incident, finally revealing
• 4:03
the reason why they were killed. Crazy! No, I'm
• 4:11
not crazy. But your boys seem to have so much
• 4:14
fun tearing up Sally's kitchen, I thought I'd
• 4:16
tried myself. It's great! Search the page and
• 4:19
the group of 7080 .it on Facebook and relive
• 4:22
with us your most beautiful years. even if in
• 4:48
the course of the series it occasionally used
• 4:51
both a 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III and
• 4:55
a 1976 model. His investigations are mainly carried
• 5:13
out in the Southern California area, but sometimes
• 5:16
he is also called to investigate in further places,
• 5:18
such as New Mexico. During his operations, Cannon
• 5:20
occasionally suffers injuries or is hit, sometimes
• 5:23
even faint, while in his clashes with criminals
• 5:26
he proves to be an expert in karate and judo.
• 5:30
In the first two seasons, Cannon was a passionate
• 5:32
pipe smoker, but this trait was abandoned in
• 5:36
the third season. In an era preceding the use
• 5:38
of the cell phone, Cannon is often shown while
• 5:41
using an MTS mobile phone from Motorola on its
• 5:45
Lincoln Continental, something very rare at the
• 5:47
time. A certain resemblance of William Coran
• 5:50
with the journalist Maurizio Costanzo has made
• 5:52
the Italian public, the series arrived in Italy
• 5:56
in 1975 and was replicated several times in the
• 5:59
80s, exchange the latter, coming to hypothesize
• 6:03
a development of the career of the popular TV
• 6:05
presenter in the direction of a police fiction
• 6:09
actor. Grazie al direttore di 7080 .it Massimo
