- 0:50enjoy this upcoming Table Talk discussion. As the college football bowl season is here,
- 0:56it is finally here. We've got some really great games that we're gonna
- 1:00be seeing in the near future around you know, after the Christmas holiday,
- 1:03right around the New Year's time. But we're gonna be seeing some fascinating college
- 1:07football I think, and we've got a great guest to get into it this
- 1:11week. Let's get right to it, and it is great to have back
- 1:15on the podcast, coming to us from Fan Sided. He does a lot
- 1:19of writing for college football as well as some NFL, but specifically we're gonna
- 1:25be getting into some college football today. We've got the one and only John
- 1:27Bueller. John Man, how you doing, Buddy, Doing well? Good
- 1:30to be back. Definitely happy to talk about some college football. Definitely not
- 1:34the NFL. After SG you're Atlanta Falcons. Wow. You know what an
- 1:40interesting division? Though. I know we're not here to talk about the NFL.
- 1:42We're gonna be talking college football. But man, that that NFC South
- 1:46a very very interesting division, my friend. I know, it's all over
- 1:49the place. It's really exciting, and it's like, I can't believe one
- 1:52of them is gonna have to host, hopefully the Cowboys and probably hopefully not
- 1:57your guys. And there you go. We'll see how that happens with this
- 2:00Philadelphia Eagles team after this game tonight. Again, we're recording this on Monday,
- 2:06December eighteenth. But John, I know you've got some great stuff that
- 2:08you've been doing over at fan Sided. I wanted to get that out for
- 2:12our listeners so they know where to find you. I know you've been doing
- 2:14some podcasting as well. Tell everybody where they can find you on the interwebs.
- 2:17Yeah, you can follow me on Twitter at bueler one. Eighteen b
- 2:22U h l e R one one eight. There's a link to my author
- 2:25profile on fansida dot com. I write for the flagship site. I mostly
- 2:30covered college football the NFL, and I'm also you know, I write a
- 2:35lot about the Braves, kind of have some ties there with the division and
- 2:38stuff. Writing a little bit about Otani but that's kind of my honey hoole
- 2:40here, but that's that's kind of what I write there, So all right,
- 2:44very there. Yeah. Also, also I forgot about the podcast.
- 2:46Yeah, I gotta forget that too. Yes, we've been doing a college
- 2:51football centric podcast on fansida dot com with my colleague Cody Williams. It's called
- 2:55False Start. You can find it on Apples, Spotify, I Google podcast,
- 3:00anywhere there's podcasts. It's just two dudes with long hair who liked to
- 3:07shoot the breeze about college football. It's really dumb, but it's been a
- 3:09lot of fun. And yeah, you can follow us on Twitter there at
- 3:14CFB fall Start too. We do dumb stuff constantly on this podcast, and
- 3:19we've been doing this for over ten and a half years. John, So
- 3:23everybody go listen to the dumb stuff. I'm kidding of course, let's you
- 3:28know, let's get into some college football talk here with you, John,
- 3:30because, like I you know, I reflect back on what this two thousand
- 3:35and twenty three college football season was, and it was just a unique year
- 3:38I think for college football in general. You know, we saw Ohio State,
- 3:43you know, faltering from time to time, not as maybe the the
- 3:46dominant football program that they that they have been in recent memory. Missouri,
- 3:53I mean, they were a team to be reckoned with at times. As
- 3:55well. Florida they were certainly a disappointment I think this year. When we
- 4:00reflect back on this season, West Virginia was certainly a surprise I think for
- 4:04many as well. So I'm wondering what was one of the biggest under the
- 4:08radar college football storylines during this season that you particularly followed, and how did
- 4:14that impact college football overall. Definitely the really bad offense there in Iowa City
- 4:20with the Hawkeyes. That was that tapped into the sickos for all of us
- 4:26there, Like we can't believe just how poor the Iowa offense was under Brian
- 4:30Farrence. The defense was spectacular. I mean, Males Parker won the Frank
- 4:34Broyles and this team went ten and two one, like the big tenues and
- 4:39I don't think they scored a point versus Michigan and Indy, but just the
- 4:44fact that there was a clause in there, like you need to average twenty
- 4:46five points a game, and that's kind of how everybody came up with the
- 4:50drive to three twenty five and I don't even think he got to two hundred
- 4:55before interim eighty. Beth Gatz is like, nah, dude, you're out
- 4:59right. It was the craziest thing ever. I feel so bad for their
- 5:04players, Like, really, once Kad McNamara got hurt and they had to
- 5:08put Deacon Hill in there. They couldn't move the ball, couldn't do anything
- 5:11but their points. They could kick field goals and block punts. That's about
- 5:15it. Yeah, I thought, like, in terms of just an underrated
- 5:17story, that was just weird. That was the one that immediately came to
- 5:20mind to me. I've never seen such a dichotomy in college football in terms
- 5:25of one particular program where you have absolute dominance on one side of the ball
- 5:30and defense and or offense, and then on the other side of the ball
- 5:33they could not do anything at all. It was, like you said,
- 5:36I think it was really an under the radar storyline. I mean, those
- 5:40those of us that really followed college football closely, we kind of know what
- 5:44was happening with Iowa throughout the course of the year. But my gosh,
- 5:46I mean in terms of them being a quote, you know, bigger type
- 5:50of team within the Big Ten, My gosh, how how how two polar
- 5:55opposites of offense and defense ended up working out this year for them? It
- 6:00was really really quite spectacular, John, Oh, Definitely. The thing about
- 6:05them is like they were in and around the top twenty five the whole year.
- 6:10Yeah, And I mean they didn't do so hot against Penn State and
- 6:14Michigan and other things like that. The lost in Minnesota for Floyd was really
- 6:17weird, but then they won like a ten to seven game that I actually
- 6:21predicted over Northwestern at Wigley, which was crazy. It's so interesting to look
- 6:30back on some of these storylines here. So as we're moving along, though,
- 6:32John, you know, the bowl season actually starts today with the famous
- 6:38Toastery Bowl, which is Western Kentucky versus Old Dominion. I think it's happening
- 6:44at like two thirty or something, and nobody's going to be watching this game,
- 6:47really, but I do wonder, you know, and we've talked about
- 6:50it on this podcast over the years again over the past decade number of times.
- 6:56I'm wondering, do you think the college bowl season has gotten a little
- 7:00bit ridiculous with the sheer number of bowl games that they actually are that there
- 7:03actually are, or do you think it actually kind of helps the college football
- 7:09product? What are your thoughts here? I mean, what an interesting one
- 7:13to have here on a Monday over there, not in Bank of America Stadium
- 7:16over there at where the forty nine ers play for ULC Charlotte. Hopefully it's
- 7:23not a soupy mess because that was a hailstorm, just a monsoon there in
- 7:26Charlotte yesterday. But I think with Division One expanding with so many teams,
- 7:33I think an opportunity for everybody that finishes at five hundred or better to play
- 7:38with their friends is kind of cool. Yes, the games are going to
- 7:42be like on ESPN for the most part, and you can watch them if
- 7:45you want to. But I think it's an opportunity for these guys to play
- 7:48with their their friends, their college teammates against somebody they're never really going to
- 7:54go up against. Yes, I mean came Western Kentucky play Old Dominion.
- 7:57Sure we're not that far apart, different conference and stuff. But the one
- 8:01thing that really intrigues me about what's going on with these bowl games is like
- 8:09there's opportunities for the players to get better, for everybody to kind of like
- 8:13level up there yep, and it's just it's just even more. It's just
- 8:18bad if you don't make it like I too, Like Florida that went five
- 8:20and seven, their season's done. They're not going to do anything until spring
- 8:24practice. Yep. These practices are so crucial, So anybody who follows the
- 8:28sport knows how big it is. Like maybe maybe this is like the first
- 8:33start for the quarterback taking over to the guy who's opting out and whatnot.
- 8:37Yes, it's like, I mean, I'll watch every one of them,
- 8:39but if it's on, I'll do it. Obviously the big bulls will watch
- 8:43too. But I don't hit it. But it is kind of ridiculous though,
- 8:46like some years they've had like five and seven teams playing with like come
- 8:50on, But other than that, I don't hate it. Maybe maybe I'm
- 8:52kind of in the minority there. Yeah, I think I think it has
- 8:56gotten ridiculous. Like you said, I think it's gotten ridiculous over the years,
- 8:58but I think there's the opportunity to see some good football, some genuine
- 9:01good football against teams that do have a certain amount of talent. It might
- 9:05not be the greatest talent that you're seeing again today with the famous Toastery Bowl,
- 9:09Western Kentucky and Old Dominion. They're not the greatest teams out there,
- 9:13but it's just in terms of, you know, the type of football product
- 9:16that they can produce. You know, it may be entertaining here and there.
- 9:20So I don't know, I'm coming around to it a little bit more.
- 9:24I've always been on the mindset of no, this is not good for
- 9:28college football, but you know, I'm kind of coming around to it that,
- 9:31you know what, the more football we have in our lives the better.
- 9:33So anyways, we're moving along here, John, I'm hoping we can
- 9:37get into some of the bowl games, some of the more prominent bowl games
- 9:41here that we are going to be seeing over the next couple of weeks.
- 9:43Wanted to get your thoughts on specific bowl games and what we may actually see
- 9:48and what your thoughts are going into these games. First and foremost love to
- 9:54get your thoughts on the Cotton Bowl Ohio State versus Missouri. What do you
- 9:58think is going to happen here? Because, as I mention, and you
- 10:00know at the top, Ohio State the kind of saw them falter from time
- 10:03to time. In Missouri, you know, they were a force at times
- 10:07during this season as well. How do you think the Cotton Bowl is gonna
- 10:09play out? This is the one I'm the most confident about. I'm not
- 10:15the gambling type, but Missoo is gonna slaughter Ohio State because Ohio State just
- 10:18they don't like Tom McCord's and the transfer portal who's their quarterback. Yeah,
- 10:22they're dealing with a lot of stuff with the whole fall out of Michigan Ryan
- 10:26Days falling out of favor, which I think is kind of odd because he's
- 10:28a really good coach. And Miszoo definitely maybe might be good. They've played
- 10:33my alma mater, the University of Georgia, very well. They're probably the
- 10:37third best team in the SEC behind Georgia and Bama right now right there with
- 10:41Ole miss They're gonna play really hard. This is another opportunity for Code Schrader,
- 10:46the SEC running back first Team or like he's gonna be try go pro.
- 10:52Came up from like a very small level of college. I think Miszoo
- 10:54they've been played in the New Year six Bowl since it's been the year six.
- 10:58I think the last one was like thirteen. They played Oklahoma and the
- 11:01Cotton Bowl or something like that, and then maybe the Chase Daniel team in
- 11:05O seven. But I really, I really like Missoo in this game.
- 11:09Maybe it'll be close, but I think that the urgency is more on Missouri's
- 11:13side in this game. All right, very good. Let's move on to
- 11:16the Peach Bowl. We've got Penn State against Ole Miss. And yes,
- 11:20I'm a Penn State guys, you know, but I think this is going
- 11:22to be a very interesting matchup. You know, I'm not gonna be home
- 11:26or all, like, oh yeah, Penn State's going to be taking this.
- 11:28No, not at all. What do you think in terms of this
- 11:30Peach Bowl matchup between Penn State and Old Miss. Well, this game's going
- 11:35on four miles from my apartment here, all right, yeah? Nice?
- 11:37Yes, so I saw like the signage up there on the north side yesterday
- 11:43or over the weekend and stuff. It's crazy. These two teams have never
- 11:46played right ever, which is odd because you think SEC big TAN affiliation,
- 11:52you'd have something. I think this has the chance to be the most competitive
- 11:56and interesting game and also very important for next year. The playoff expans Penn
- 12:01State is the best program that hasn't made it in yet, and he would
- 12:05probably argue in the SEC old Miss has been that in the last ten years.
- 12:11Lane Kiffin's doing a phenomenal job in the transfer portal. I think with
- 12:15Penn State having to change the coridators, it may not be in the Nittney
- 12:18Lions favor so much. But this is all about seeing what Drew Aller can
- 12:22do, see if he can kind of be what JJ McCarthy did this year
- 12:26at Michigan, And depending on how you know, you see Andy Coltenecki and
- 12:30then now with Tom Allen coming in from IU, you can be bullish on
- 12:35the Nidney Lions here next year. I think ole Miss, if ole Miss
- 12:37wins, Honestly, with the way the SEC schedule looks, ole Miss can
- 12:41win the SEC next year. They have a very they have a very easy
- 12:45schedule. It's like if they beat LSU, because I don't think they played
- 12:48Bama. I mean they got Georgia, but not having SEC West or East.
- 12:52That's good. This is going to be a fantastic game. So it
- 12:56may not draw the fanfare of some of the other bigger bowls, but like
- 12:58I think has the chance to be the best one. I got to tell
- 13:01you one of my favorites to probably end up watching is the one I want
- 13:05to talk about next, which is the Orange Bowl Florida State in Georgia.
- 13:09My gosh, John, I mean, you're a Georgia Bulldogs guy, and
- 13:15you know, you know, putting the bias aside here, what do you
- 13:18think is going to happen with this particular bowl? Because these are two powerhouse
- 13:20teams and teams that one of these teams I think should actually be in the
- 13:26in the college football playoff quite frankly, that's just my opinion. However,
- 13:31you know, Georgia a force to be reckoned with as well as you know,
- 13:33what do you think about the Orange Bowl? Here? There's there's a
- 13:39couple of outcomes that could happen. I think Florida State could be really up
- 13:43for this. You know, they may try to throw like a championship parade
- 13:45and like you see, I have to did a couple of years. So
- 13:46if they were to be Georgia, that would be really awkward and given from
- 13:50their standards. But you know, if Tay Rodimaker can play and these guys
- 13:54are charged up and fired up, they can be Georgia. There's a chance
- 13:58for Georgia can just be like a we're really not interested, kind of like
- 14:01when they played Texas in the Orange Bowl back in in eighteen. But Carson
- 14:05Back's gonna play in the game for Georgia. He hasn't decided if he's gonna
- 14:09turn Pray or not. I think he's leaning towards staying because there's like upwards
- 14:15of six first round quarterbacks. I don't think he's one of them. Yeah,
- 14:18he'd be down there with like Bo Nix and Michael Pennox junior towards like
- 14:22the back end of the first round. There's a chance Georgia could blow out
- 14:26Florida State. There's a chance Georgia could lose to Florida State, but Florida
- 14:28State's not blowing out Georgia. I think this game is gonna be very interesting.
- 14:33Probably of the New Year six, it's not the playoff, it may
- 14:35have the most entrigue because it's the two time defending national champions who aren't defending
- 14:41it, and the team they got absolutely robbed by the selection committee going at
- 14:43it. Yeah, a lot of hype. I don't know if it'll live
- 14:46up to it, but I'm gonna watch by a society because I think it'll
- 14:48be interesting. I think it's gonna be a great, great, interesting game.
- 14:52And finally, I wanted to get your opinions on the Fiesta Bowl Oregon
- 14:56versus Liberty. Man, I think this is gonna be a great, great
- 15:00game too, I really do. I'm really intrigued by it. What do
- 15:03you think is gonna be happening with this matchup? First off, I'm really
- 15:07excited that Liberty got to make the New Year six because, like CUSA hadn't
- 15:11had a team in yet. Uh. This is Jamie Chadwell's first year in
- 15:15Lynchburg, taking over for Hugh Freeze. The Flames have been outstanding. Yes,
- 15:20they may have like playing with you know, SEC caliber players in some
- 15:24positions at Conference USA, but that doesn't matter right right This is gonna be
- 15:30Bonicks's final college game, and this is very important for him because I think
- 15:35he's gonna ace the interview process in the draft. But he's got to show
- 15:39that like he could win like big games, a game that people matter,
- 15:43Like this is the biggest game in like Liberty Flames football history. It is,
- 15:48without a question, it is yep. And you know, I really
- 15:52like Dan Lanning what he's doing up there in Eugene. Obviously they're gonna get
- 15:56Dylan Gabriel coming in from Oklahoma to a place but Nicks next year. But
- 16:02like, I think Oregon's gonna win. But I don't want to know what's
- 16:06gonna happen if Liberty wins. If Liberty wins, there's definitely gonna be Wait,
- 16:11there's gonna be some shakeups. There's gonna be some shakeups for sure.
- 16:17Yeah, I'm not ruling that a hell like it's possible. Yeah, I'm
- 16:19not saying that's definitely not gonna happen. But exactly the fact I like Liberty
- 16:23boar in this game, that I like Ohio State versus Missoo says everything.
- 16:26There you go, the new year six are grade absolutely absolutely all right.
- 16:30Well, I wanted to move on to the college football Playoff with you end
- 16:36our discussion there. Frankly, I mean I cannot wait until the college football
- 16:41Playoff is going to have the expanded bracket next year. I cannot wait for
- 16:45that. I think that it's going to make for more interesting college football,
- 16:51in a more interesting college football postseason. Quite frankly, you know, I've
- 16:55really kind of just despised this four team thing for years and years at this
- 17:00point, John, and I'm not sure how you feel about it, but
- 17:03I'm wondering are you looking forward to it as well, the expanded bracket and
- 17:07why or why not? Yeah, if it was expanded now both of our
- 17:11teams are in, and that would be all there you go, Yeah,
- 17:14and it would be the way it breaks down. I think if you would
- 17:18have done the seating as it would have been, it would have been a
- 17:19rematch from the regular season. Georgia would have hosted Ole Miss and Athens,
- 17:25and I believe Penn State would be going to the Horseshoe to play Ohio State,
- 17:29which I think that's how that would have gone first round. Initially,
- 17:33I wasn't in favor of expansion just because, like I don't think in a
- 17:37season more than three teams can win a national title. But once I started
- 17:41to realize that you want to have this be a national product, you want
- 17:45the West Coast to be interested in the Midwest, the South, the southwest,
- 17:48Northeast a little bit too. You know what, the whole country engage
- 17:52in this. You got to have somebody in there. And it's not necessarily
- 17:56like is the twelve seat ever gonna win? No, right, but like
- 18:00you want to have the opportunity to have them a chance to compete, you
- 18:04know, kind of like why we like March Madness so much in college basketball.
- 18:10I was kind of apprehensive about the automatic qualifier, but with the death
- 18:14of the Pac twelve, it doesn't bother me too much. You're still going
- 18:17to get enough quality at large teams like this year that would have been you
- 18:21know at Georgia, you know at Penn State, Ohio State, and MISSOI
- 18:22like, they all would have been in there, and they all would have,
- 18:25you know, probably had the ability to win multiple games here. But
- 18:30what I'm really looking forward to is like the on campus games. Yeah,
- 18:37the five to twelve, six' eleven, all those games, because it's
- 18:41a lot of these ads don't have the stones to like schedule somebody significantly in
- 18:45the non conference. Some do, some don't, but like, oh,
- 18:48congratulations, yeah you you made the playoff. As like the ten seed you
- 18:53got to go to let's check. Oh you got to go to Annaber Michigan
- 18:57this year, congratulations, Or if it's too cold, I guess you're going
- 19:00to Detroit and you're playing with the Lions. Play right. So I think
- 19:06it took a season like this where it just had it had to be like
- 19:10this for it to become very parent if the fourteen model doesn't work, because
- 19:14we've been banking on the fact that you know, four spots five Power five
- 19:18leagues, but all every league had had at least a team that was absolutely
- 19:22deserving of getting in, and there's too much money to be had for you
- 19:26to be missing out on that. I hope they get to multiple TV partners
- 19:30besides ESPN Truth so they can like kind of advertise this on CBS, NBC,
- 19:34Fox, whatever. Yeah, kind of like the NFL does, like
- 19:37they can do it right. But there's still a few pieces left to be
- 19:41decided. But I'm in favor of it. I think it wants Ari Wasson,
- 19:45if the athletic was in favor of it, I think we all were
- 19:48there you go, there, you go. Yeah. Once he was like,
- 19:51yeah it's a go, then it's a go. So yes, yes
- 19:53again folks, we're talking to John Buehler from Fan Side It. Also check
- 19:57out he and his co hosts a podcast called False Start Great College Football Talk
- 20:03over there. Follow him on Twitter at Bueller one one eight. He is
- 20:07a great grade follow And uh, I guess to close us up here,
- 20:11you know, talking about this college football playoff and specifically talking about these four
- 20:15teams that are gonna be playing here in the semi finals, Michigan, Alabama,
- 20:21Washington, and Texas. A few questions for you here, Which team
- 20:25first and foremost? Which team do you think is gonna absolutely get blown out?
- 20:30Florida State? But I think that's why the committee went this direction,
- 20:37yecause it's really hard to answer this. Yeah, if you hadn't tell me
- 20:41one, it's probably Washington. That's what I was thinking too. Yeah,
- 20:45if Panis gets hurt, I don't know. Yeah, but I don't think
- 20:48that they're gonna get blown out, because like I can't say the same for
- 20:51like Texas, although if quinn Ewers got hurt and they put Arch out there,
- 20:55good luck, because Malik Murphy's in the portal, that's true. Alabama
- 21:00would be fine. I just I don't know, probably any Washington, although
- 21:03I don't think we're gonna get We're gonna see it blow out. Okay,
- 21:06all right, sounds good. Next one we have four here, so number
- 21:10two here, what matchup do you think is going to be the most competitive
- 21:15to start us out? What do you think that's gonna be? Oh,
- 21:18Michigan Alabama, that's gonna be must watch, that's gonna be fantastic. Yeah.
- 21:22Yeah, I think either team can win. This is this is a
- 21:26very big one from Michigan, Like they have to win because they've lost their
- 21:30last two national semifinals Boston Georgia tears Ago and the Orange Bowl then just laid
- 21:37an Egg versus TCU and the Fiesta Bowl. I'm not saying they were gonna
- 21:40beat Georgia tiears Ago, but you should have beaten TCU last year, as
- 21:44illustrated by how lobside of the National Championship was. Yeah. As for Alabama,
- 21:48like they're in and once they're in, they're dangerous and Jayla Jayala Neuro
- 21:55is a fantastic player. Uh they Alabama versus anybody. I mean it's hard.
- 22:02It's hard to beat the ol Empire that will not die. Absolutely absolutely
- 22:04well. This is an interesting question one that I didn't have for you.
- 22:07And this is something that's always kind of perplexed me a little bit, And
- 22:10maybe it's because of my love for Penn State and my disdain for certain other
- 22:12programs within the Big Ten. Is that, like, do you, because
- 22:17you know you being a Georgia Bulldog and the fact that you know it's an
- 22:22SEC team, do you root for Alabama to win? Or is it?
- 22:26Do you know, are you rooting for Michigan in a way, because like
- 22:29for me, I completely and people listen to this podcast know that I cannot
- 22:34stand Horball. I cannot stand Harriball. Therefore I cannot stand the Michigan football
- 22:40program. I'm not rooting for Michigan. I'm not necessarily rooting for Alabama,
- 22:44but it is not gonna I'm not gonna be sad if Alabama wins, do
- 22:48you know what I mean? Like, I just cannot root for Michigan.
- 22:49And people will say, yeah, but you're a Big Ten guy, I
- 22:52don't care. I hate Michigan with every fiber of my body because of Harrball
- 22:57at this point, Are you kind of like that in a way or do
- 23:00you see where I'm coming from there? It really depends on the teams obviously
- 23:07having Penn State ties, or maybe there may be different feelings versus like you
- 23:10know, Ohio State and Michigan, whereas like somebody out of the West just
- 23:14get like okay, whatever. Cool. That's kind of how it is with
- 23:17George and Alabama, although they've owned us pretty much forever, particularly in Atlanta.
- 23:22Yeah, like I don't I don't dislike Alabama as much as I dislike
- 23:26Florida or Auburn. Basically that's just kind of and then Georgia Tech whatever they're
- 23:30doing over there in the A c C. But I like Alabama because it's
- 23:36saving and it's a it's excellence, it's a national brand. They know how
- 23:40to do it well. Harbaugh is just such as such a goof ball I
- 23:45can't really I can't really do with it. Like he's just he's easy to
- 23:48make fun of, you know, he's the he's the kind of guy that
- 23:52like if he's playing like the neighborhood pick up, he's always Team Skins,
- 23:56doesn't matter what exactly, the fact that he suspended for half the season,
- 24:00it's just like, did somebody beat this same please exactly exactly? All right,
- 24:07John, as we're moving along here, just a couple more questions for
- 24:10you in terms of these semi finals here again Michigan, Alabama, Washington,
- 24:15and Texas. Which team do you think may actually surprise us? Is there
- 24:18one? The most surprising team to me is Texas. I think they have
- 24:23the highest variance of anybody. I think all four of these teams can win
- 24:27the national title. Yeah. I was apprehensive about that with Washington, but
- 24:32I saw them got it out versus Oregon State in the rain. I'm like,
- 24:34Oh, this team is mentally tough, and then they went out and
- 24:37then beat Oregon pretty good. So I'm not saying that like there's no team
- 24:41in here who can't win it. Yep, But we haven't seen the start
- 24:44game yet. I don't know if that's gonna happen yet, but it could
- 24:48happen versus Washington, you know, overlooking like, oh, let's try to
- 24:52be Bama twice in the same season and like we get all the recruits,
- 24:55or you know, overlooking them thinking oh, we gotta play Michigan and stuff.
- 25:00I mean, if Quinny Rivers is healthy, they're fantastic. They've got
- 25:02a really good defensive line, really complete football team, really dominant in the
- 25:06trenches and stuff there, but it's Texas. They might be back, but
- 25:11they're also Texas, so you never really know when Lew's he's gonna pull football
- 25:15back and Charlie Brown Sky laying on his back there you go. Absolutely all
- 25:18right, final question before I let you go, Buddy, which team you
- 25:23think comes home with the national championship? Right now? It's Alabama over Texas.
- 25:30That's how I'm feeling, right That's how I'm feeling right now, just
- 25:32because like what I because I was at the I was at the SEC Championship
- 25:36and I was walking it very closely from the end zone. There's something about
- 25:40Milroe in person that's very impressive. He didn't even like complete half of his
- 25:44balls, but he was in command of the offense against a really good,
- 25:47really style defense. We've also seen like lighted up there too. I think
- 25:52he's probably my favorite next year to win the Heisman Trophy right now, Like
- 25:56that guy is special. Tommy Reese has all the weapons he's ever wanted.
- 26:00The Nick Saban and Kevin Steele will get that defense going, yep. I
- 26:03just think it and the ability to win two games in a road that's the
- 26:06team I trust the most to do it all right, Very good again,
- 26:08folks. John Bueller from Fan Sided also the False Start podcast where they're talking

- 26:27the college football bowl season is just gonna be so interesting. I love the
- 26:32conversation with John just now because there's so much excitement and there's a lot of
- 26:37I would like to say, you know, diversity when it comes to specific
- 26:41teams being in certain positions, certain bowl games that they are in. That's
- 26:45gonna make this bull season really fascinating. Like we were talking about like Florida
- 26:49State and Georgia, My gosh, it's gonna be a fantastic bowl game,
- 26:52Penn State, Ole Miss. I think that is going to be extremely intriguing.
- 26:56And then of course the National Championship game, what that is going to
- 27:02end up being. Man, it's gonna be fascinating. It's gonna be interesting,
