"There is an eternal inheritance..." - Readings for Sunday, 8/9/26

Food for the Journey Classics · Aug 7, 2026 · 14m

At every Mass, we “dare” to pray the Our Father. What a privilege it is to call God our father! Do you ever struggle to understand this? Ask the Lord to help you see what it means to be His child, and to live that reality. There really is an eternal inheritance. You really will see the face of God in the final judgment. How will you respond?

Sr. Ann reflects on the Sunday readings:

1 Kings 19:9a, 11-13a

Psalm 85:9, 10, 11-12, 13-14

Romans 9:1-5

Matthew 14:22-33
