- 0:00um I'm gonna be murdered by my wife in a few weeks time so I'm just starting to
- 0:05say my goodbyes and everything welcome to multiple
- 0:10nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and
- 0:14Dan multible nerdgasm your guide to All
- 0:20Things
- 0:26nerdy what have you done what are you going to do well you already know what
- 0:31I've done and it comes out in a couple of weeks who are you going to do oh
- 0:37Starfield Starfield comes out in a couple of weeks whichit God does it it
- 0:42does I think did she Bann you from playing it or something on pain of death
- 0:46never going to see her again he's Starfield wife now and then she doesn't
- 0:50need to kill him does she she can just move on with her life she could just
- 0:54continue living her life and Luke will just she just has to start putting food
- 0:58outside the door no it's not that it's remember there was
- 1:02an expensive collector's edition that they announced oh you did you buy the
- 1:07the bomber jacket a watch and a jacket and a I didn't know about a jacket I'm
- 1:10getting the watch I think the jacket's a new thing it's like like merch but yeah
- 1:15there's a fancy bomber jacket looks very nice I might look into that though but
- 1:18I've got the watch I would get murdered if I bought that cuz I have more than
- 1:22enough jackets yeah looks like a watch is nice and it I like it because it's
- 1:27not it's a smartwatch but not it's it's just going to be very basic like steps
- 1:31and help a dum Smartwatch yeah I don't even wear a smartwatch anymore I wear
- 1:36this yeah nice come over to the dark side of watches I'm not wearing one
- 1:41right now I'm practically nude I just hate the fact I have to charge my watch every
- 1:47day yeah yeah it's like every day you have to take it off even though there's a
- 1:52sleep function on it that tracks your sleep well that's why I stopped wearing
- 1:56expensive watches so I've got I've got like one Swiss m watch fancy mechanical
- 2:02one that you've got to you got to wind it every few days reset the clock and
- 2:06then wind it right like the cheap watches that cost me $150 to
- 2:10$300 I've got a [ __ ] battery in it that just keeps them going like and my
- 2:16my Rolex I'll say it just is a piece of [ __ ] compared to the you know what I
- 2:20mean like it's medieval my last the last watch I had was probably my favorite an
- 2:25LG watch that was a smart watch but it also had hands so
- 2:30I remember you had that when you were in Europe when we were in France you had
- 2:33that one two separate batteries so there was one that was for the Smartwatch and
- 2:37then there was another one for the actual hands still function as function
- 2:41and that would last for 30 days pretty awesome that's smart but also wouldn't
- 2:46the hands it's a very smart watch when you yes wanted to look at the screen
- 2:50that was very yeah so if I pushed a button when I was looking at the screen
- 2:53the hands would sort of just fold up so they weren't like all over the screen
- 2:57they just all go to like 12 was a great watch but then the hands died and I
- 3:03contacted and I had to send it back to get it fixed and I'm not good at sending
- 3:06stuff in the mail so it's still here and then I should
- 3:11probably watch I have an Apple Watch it's a couple years old now and I use it
- 3:15I was using it but I noticed that cuz I'm you know this I'm not a big social
- 3:20media person I think any of us are particularly and I just don't I don't
- 3:23even my phone's always on silent I don't want to be bothered and I found out I
- 3:26just turned everything off on it and I was like why do I have this like I'm not
- 3:30you're just using it as watch watch YouTube on it or anything like that
- 3:34no the only time literally the only time I was like I wish I had it was was a
- 3:40little while ago we were all out somewhere and if I had had it I could
- 3:44have put my phone and used it to trigger a photo literally literally the only
- 3:50scenario where thought wish I had contactless payments that would be great
- 3:54to just tap that well I'm in America so we don't have those oh really sure I
- 3:59thought they was last time I was there there are a few places I could have done
- 4:02it I don't even have a wallet anymore Luke I'm sure you're the same no it's
- 4:06infrequent enough that I don't bother anymore I just have to have the cards
- 4:10anyway so it's like there's not much point you know because we're in New
- 4:13South Wales our license is on our phones Min like so we just don't have to
- 4:20carry a wallet anymore it's yeah it's EXC wallet there it is
- 4:24got to have it um my daughter iPad watch and um she pick up my wife's and just
- 4:30start saying watch TV watch TV into the
- 4:34watch L tries to say Alex shouldn't have said it tries to say that to things to
- 4:40it to say play fir truck play fire truck and then yeah it gets upset when
- 4:46it doesn't listen Hara hates it when I talk to we've got Google but um she
- 4:51doesn't like it when she she she's ask questions yeah and then I get an answer
- 4:56from the house you know yeah I have to ask
- 5:00it's great do you say thank you yeah
- 5:03sometimes I do and you can tell it to
- 5:07wait for chat GPT but I'm [ __ ] furious at Google because she it's it's
- 5:13like having an inept chimp as a butler like Siri the worst breaking things oh
- 5:20I've never used Siri I was talking to Jen about this the other day like they
- 5:24got to do something about it it was like the first one and it was amazing M like 10 years
- 5:31ago the same [ __ ] no Li the only time I
- 5:35use Siri is in the car carplay when I'm like you know play Henry purel and it'll
- 5:42be like and half the time it just doesn't know what you're talking about I
- 5:45assume yeah yeah mine doesn't yeah yeah yeah it goes oh playing podcast about
- 5:51yeah it goes hang on a minute uh hang hang on yeah it goes
- 5:58something went wrong and you're like yeah no sh [ __ ] obviously and I wonder
- 6:02who yeah I asked you that's what went wrong yeah that's right should have just
- 6:06reached over and [ __ ] tapped on the big screen
- 6:11yeah so what do we got can we go straight to Baldwin followup news
- 6:15because it's been a while since we've spoken about him sure yeah this is
- 6:19interesting and I knew this would come back up because I mean the whole thing
- 6:23about the Balwin trial was if he can prove that he didn't pull
- 6:28the trigger M it completely changes the way he fits into the whole
- 6:34narrative um and then finally somebody admitted you know what maybe the gun was
- 6:38faulty and he didn't pull the trigger and then he pretty much got off and now
- 6:42because Gutierrez and all of these other people who are also being charged uh
- 6:47they're still doing tests on these guns and they're kind of coming back around
- 6:50to the you pull the trigger maybe someone had to have pulled a trigger
- 6:55that even if the gun was faulty a trigger would still have to be pulled for it to
- 7:00fire see it's just I think that should be something but whether he pulled a
- 7:06trigger or not is not I don't think it's the real issue with all of this I do
- 7:11wonder why that's such a big he because he made a big deal out of it yeah but he
- 7:15was also I mean I mean obviously they must know this he was in shock and it
- 7:20was a stupid idea to go in the interview he shouldn't have said anything but like
- 7:24yeah he doesn't remember no he right no the whole if he had knuckled down on the
- 7:29first day and said I was told there were no bullets in that gun and it's not my
- 7:34job to know whether or not the bullets are in that gun and it's not my job to
- 7:37question the armor there shouldn't have been any bullets on set he shouldn't
- 7:40have even had to ask are there bullets in this gun cuz it should have been safe
- 7:43to just assume that they were yeah we're playing the Cowboys and Indians movie
- 7:48right this is not like a real gun that could like kill people I shouldn't have
- 7:51to ask this but clearly remember people trying to say he should have known he
- 7:54should have had training he should have been able to tell by the weight of the
- 7:57gun when it was handed to him and stuff and that's just
- 8:00no I mean there's an argument for that right but then fine that has to be
- 8:03across the board and you have to change the industry like I know people were
- 8:06saying that and it's like okay but that's not how it is that's not
- 8:09Baldwin's fault but there's a big difference between someone who handles a
- 8:13gun professionally every day they could do an actor who comes on even if you
- 8:18send them training for that they're not going to be able to identify that
- 8:21difference day in day out it's not practical there just should be prend guns
- 8:28guys guns that's what he yeah cuz the rock goes I dare you to be able to tell
- 8:34the difference once we put in all the muzzle flashes and stuff like yeah like
- 8:37it's been the only reason they us they use blankets you think this real back in
- 8:42the day it's the only thing that looked real we don't have that problem anymore
- 8:46you do CGI for putting a sign on a door mate Matt made a movie Once where he
- 8:52used a blue [ __ ] what was the PlayStation
- 8:572 what was that
- 9:01it was like a the the the Time Crisis time CR it was it was the Time Crisis
- 9:06gun with the cord up his sleeve so you didn't know that it plugged in we
- 9:10couldn't tell the difference fooled everybody was I was like [ __ ]
- 9:17hell but that was the first I had to go to court and prove that I myself was
- 9:21alive cuz if you recall in that film I shot myself you yeah that's right the baboon
- 9:27um those early like I assume that was after adub
- 9:33after effects that you used for that yeah that was before i' done any
- 9:38experimentation with them and I was like Matt's a magician like this stuff is
- 9:44this stuff is beyond this is Hollywood techniques here the first Ninja Warrior
- 9:48Budan listeners who will not see this don't ask amazing I've got it somewhere
- 9:53to clarify it's not even the first ninja war boy was the third Ninja Warrior Bo
- 9:57first one I did the special effects on yeah we had lightsabers I rotoscoped
- 10:02those in Photoshop frame by frame oh my God damn why didn't we didn't have
- 10:08anything better to do in those days me yeah yeah we had a SP a weekend drawing
- 10:12lightsabers over the pieces of wood that we used did look amazing though yeah it
- 10:17looked it looked better than most lightsaber things I've tried to do since
- 10:21then and after look at the early Star Wars movies cuz that's how they [ __ ]
- 10:25did it exactly yeah pulsing like so so so yeah we're
- 10:30saying mat could do this 10 years ago they can do it today sorry 10 years ago
- 10:3510 years ago we were 32 mate this is when we were 18 it's a long time ago
- 10:40years ago a very long time ago photosh four or
- 10:44five yeah it would have been five about that time yeah I met the guy who created
- 10:49it Photoshop did you really huh when I was went to the filming of um episode 3
- 10:55cuz he talking to this guy and he it sort of came from of ilm and stuff like
- 11:02it was a yeah and I was talking go oh yeah I created that and this Photoshop
- 11:08yeah yeah he's like you ow me some money if you've used Photoshop at all or
- 11:11anything I but at that stage I had been using it and none of us had a license no
- 11:17oh God I certainly would have owed in money for that copy I wouldn't have had
- 11:20any though so I got my copy of Photoshop 5 from the guy at the garage that dick
- 11:27used to work at UH cuz dick got a job straight out of high
- 11:32school at this this like mechanics that he was apprenticing to and he was like
- 11:37the guy here can get you literally any software you just you give me a disc and
- 11:40$10 and tell me what you want so this was real piracy like I paid for for
- 11:44pirate stuff well that's sort of what back then you knew someone who could get
- 11:49it or had it got find I probably don't have told the story in the podcast
- 11:54before but we live downstairs in Eastwood we lived in the downstairs unit
- 11:58and up above us on one side was it was a a scary big guy we didn't mess with and
- 12:04on the other side were these two other people I won't say where they work they
- 12:07worked for a telecommunications company in in Sydney and they had there aren't
- 12:11many so cable they had cable right which was not common back then and it was
- 12:16[ __ ] F no caps no nothing cuz they worked there and so we said well why we
- 12:23just run a network cable out of our bathroom window up into your house and
- 12:26we'll sing you some cash every month and they said all right yeah um it didn't
- 12:30last too long they got a letter saying what the [ __ ] are you using all this
- 12:34bandwidth for and Dave and I like oh um but that's where I got my copy of
- 12:38Photoshop and that's where I copied a great porn collection oh there you
- 12:44go also it did mean that we were literally on the network with their
- 12:48computers which oh sure like these days I don't think you'd even consider doing
- 12:53that just the random people that live downstairs not random if a neighbor of
- 12:57mine said do you mind if I just run a network cable at I'll be like [ __ ] off
- 13:01you just get on the Wi-Fi well yeah yeah I do remember and it probably be faster
- 13:06than this was E I remember when I first moved to camera SO waiting to get
- 13:10internet installed because you have to wait and it was going to be two we wait
- 13:13so got got there so so who's not protecting their Wi-Fi and that's how I
- 13:17got internet for the first two weeks now everyone's got passwords people have
- 13:21learned well I love it when not just passwords but people also try to name
- 13:25their Wi-Fi things you don't want to click on you like like
- 13:29people will name it like Isis terrorist group FBI surveillance
- 13:35van you got to have password I'm going there Matt do you have a mountain Jew in
- 13:40one hand and a scotch in the other hand uh it's tequila I was gonna put
- 13:46tequil I was going to put the M tequila but then I was like no tequila oh man I
- 13:52don't do tequila I I cannot do tequila ever again no yeah yeah ever again ever
- 13:58since the Fox was it the fox remember what don't call me that
- 14:05Melbourne oh the the the yeah yeah yeah I could never drink it after again after that
- 14:11night we were wrecked that entrepreneur we
- 14:16metant brought us a lot of drink the ox the ox Colin Ox laid I think might be in
- 14:23prison now maybe we should maybe we shouldn't be talking about him
- 14:29his name is in prison and the ox is on an island somewhere could be but yeah
- 14:34since that night I've never been able to drink tequila
- 14:38again yeah yeah yeah once you overdo tequila it's hard to go back to it
- 14:43because it actually is disgusting it's not like other drinks where it's like
- 14:46but it's such a nice drink no it isn't and the problem with tequila is you can
- 14:49be drinking it and you're fine and then the next minute you're falling over
- 14:53drunk there's no sort of real in between I find with the
- 14:56Kila you get fall down drunk not enough in this glass for that to happen
- 15:02so got my Mountain Dew yeah so there is some Mountain Dew news I mean it's it's
- 15:08it's not something we have to spend a lot of time for um I just read the Hound
- 15:13that Hound line the headline women douses herself in Mountain Jew to cover
- 15:17up murder and I thought I need to know about this I love Mountain Jew but I
- 15:22don't know if it helps well she got charged with um
- 15:28obstruction of justice covering up evidence by pouring Mountain Dew on
- 15:31herself so I I think it does count a certain bit so um
- 15:36why well okay so police this is in Florida because of course Florida of
- 15:42course yeah yeah Florida where you're not allowed to teach um Shakespeare in
- 15:46schools anymore we haven't talked about that but um too sexy too sexy look I
- 15:51don't have a problem with that not the fact the Bible cuz it was too sexy yeah
- 15:57well you know I think it's probably in the Century there's enough other
- 16:00literature that we don't have to just rely on Shakespeare Star [Laughter]
- 16:06Wars now it's got incest in it no good
- 16:10yeah so this woman um bashed her husband to death and then set fire to a house to
- 16:16You Know cover up the evidence and then down to the local Denny's or something
- 16:22oh so was it just she had Mountain Dew just available there she went out of her
- 16:26way to get it well yeah except that the police apprehended her on the way to the
- 16:31denes right and um and when she saw the police she quickly dropped her knife and
- 16:38Hammer right oh MH um and said oh those aren't mine uh what are they doing there
- 16:44when they said we [ __ ] know what you did she was like all right I'll tell you
- 16:49everything have a quick drink can somebody get me a Mountain Dew yes M yes
- 16:54so the cops went and got her a Mountain Dew so that she could sip it and calm
- 16:58down and confessed to the murder and then she began dousing herself in it and
- 17:02saying you'll never find any evidence on me so hilarious oh remember that hammer
- 17:07and knife you just we just saw you drop that have all your fingerprints over and
- 17:11his blood and the blood of the victim yeah I love the cops were like all you
- 17:15get what do you want Oh man all right sure I think they do that because if
- 17:21she's looking like being compliant that's the easiest way to just get y she
- 17:26committed to it so you do but the thing a little bit you want a sandwich sure
- 17:30mate yeah what do you want yeah tattoos a bad name cuz this is why I can't get a
- 17:35neck tattoo yet yes you think
- 17:40criminal yeah yeah or Maroon Five front man I can't even see your
- 17:46neck you've good point Beard's long enough I mean I don't mean because
- 17:50you've got a double chin so don't look at like that I just don't like the fact how much
- 17:57white there is M yeah your very red your Beard's come in very gray hasn't it it's
- 18:03white thank you well yeah well your wife was the one who explained to me that
- 18:08there's no such thing as a gray hair it's either just your normal color or
- 18:11white next to your noral color which makes everything look gray I think redhe
- 18:15heads tend to go look whiter than gray cuz their hair is sort of fairer so yeah
- 18:22man there's nothing more tedious than trying to grow your hair in after having
- 18:26a shaved head I got called out yesterday cuz had the like the back of the head
- 18:30which just sticking up and they call me out look like right about I can't do
- 18:33anything with it yeah yeah it's just there they could get a haircut and I no
- 18:37my boss literally said to me I just cut it I'm like cutting it is the opposite
- 18:41of what I want to happen I need to get it long enough that I can do something
- 18:45with it yeah if I was going to cut it I just shave it again cuz I either want
- 18:49much much longer hair or it just shaved again none of this in between [ __ ] what do you
- 18:55think in buddy I gave up oh my daugh did
- 18:59uh mine I got I was lazy um while we were up in Vermont and I had you know
- 19:04the ear infection all that kind of stuff I got lazy and it did grow out a little
- 19:07bit and I picked her up from daycare and then she came get Daddy and I picked her
- 19:11up and she was like Daddy you have hair
- 19:14good good and I was like thanks
- 19:18honey thanks yeah she's like good
- 19:22job thanks thanks like you can grow it the Magic's in you you doing it yeah I
- 19:29believe in you oh my daughter loves it when I've got a beard does she play with
- 19:32your beard oh yeah not my daugh your daughter
- 19:37yeah yeah yeah yeah my my nephew um was
- 19:43was playing my beard but I've got piercings and he actually is your nephew
- 19:47like 20 years old now I I nephew on Hannah's
- 19:53side got some Michael Jackson followup I'd like to go into but um he got his
- 19:59his finger stuck in my piercing so he didn't have a very good time for 30
- 20:03seconds while we're trying to sort that out
- 20:07fck he was trying to pull away I'm trying to cut I'm going with him we your
- 20:13honor I swear that's what
- 20:19happened it's my story and I'm sticking with
- 20:23it um I never thought I'd have to say this on our podcast but do we have any
- 20:29URI Gela news I was I'm I'm I hope to Christ we
- 20:34don't okay let me just PR we do so you guys I we haven't talked about
- 20:39this yet I don't know if you guys talked about it when when I was my e was
- 20:43infected but we definitely didn't talk about uriella there's been a quite a bit
- 20:46of UFO news lately I assume Luke's on top of this kind yeah if you've been
- 20:51listening to Eric Weinstein it's all [ __ ] talks about now I haven't sure
- 20:56not over this cuz it's oh no this one in particular no but you
- 21:00know they had the Congressional hearing and all that kind of stuff and you know
- 21:03I talked about the the Congressional hearing never trust the government
- 21:07except when they show you UFOs then it's the government the only ones you can
- 21:11trust but he's a whistleblower who got permission to go and talk but he's a
- 21:15pilot so he knows what's in the sky exactly yeah exactly yeah he was in the
- 21:19military therefore he's more believable the pilots are sky experts even though
- 21:24he's not saying he saw anything he's just saying he got told by somebody else
- 21:27that he [ __ ] off so anyway I hate this you know I talked about the the pyramid
- 21:31stuff that really disheartened me this is this is almost worse cuz I go on
- 21:35Twitter now and I see people talking about this and I'm like guys come on
- 21:41like it's not it's not real like and then they go oh you say he's lying I'm
- 21:46like no he doesn't have to he doesn't have to be lying for it to not be true
- 21:49he's just mistaken especially I love
- 21:52told me this well he was told that yeah
- 21:57but also he just made a mistake like yeah they saw a thing it there's been um
- 22:02Mick West himself presumably he already put forward several potential
- 22:06explanations for Mick West has pretty much done the maths and gone I totally
- 22:12get why you thought it was this because to somebody who doesn't know this level of
- 22:18mathematics wouldn't be able to understand how something can move in the
- 22:22way that you think that can't possibly move in that way but it can yeah or it
- 22:27probably didn't it just looked like it did because of of
- 22:32theam you know exactly yeah so yeah and
- 22:36I mean they hate Mick West UFO believers they think oh yeah and they were talking
- 22:41about oh you know this is this is a dark day for Mick West when the Congressional
- 22:45hearing was on and he was posted going I'm fine what what are you talking about
- 22:49and also Mick West he's like mate I would love to see a UFO like I'm not out
- 22:55to debunk he doesn't even use the word debunk any more I mean but and they say
- 23:00oh my friends so this my friends all that and mix like give here's my email
- 23:02address get him to call me I'll talk to him I want to talk to
- 23:06him yeah I'd love it to I'd love it if he could convince me I've just never had
- 23:11anyone be able to convince me so this week urri gella and I I saw this because
- 23:17MC Quest repli replied to it so I saw it on on X not Twitter on on X still
- 23:22pronounced Twitter Matt it's just spelled X yeah so Ella uh posted
- 23:29a photo on Twitter this week and he says my dear friends I cannot at this stage
- 23:34reveal any information about this photo but please be patient till I'm allowed
- 23:37to say more if at all you did say blah remember I've seen alien bodies in a
- 23:43NASA refrigerator room with Dr W Von Brawn and Captain Ed Mitchell who walked
- 23:48on the moon C I only I can only bend spoons that I bring not one you hand me
- 23:54but then he posted this photo right and then most people immediately responded
- 24:00and said that's the Xbox that's that's Anis of the Xbox that's not a photo you took
- 24:07Ur you found on YouTube yeah so what
- 24:11was his response oh he had a l resp
- 24:16skeps look at response we need to go back to having limits on how much you
- 24:20can say on Twitter I know it's ridiculous he says some of you had a
- 24:24problem with this photo I posted because you claimed it came from the xfile
- 24:26series I don't see any sity to the mor body trollies not of the bodies on them
- 24:30from the XO series it is them URI yeah going into a lot of detail there for
- 24:35something that photo you posted was taken by the prop guy like this is
- 24:39documented it's not not up for debate mate it's not a new photo we've seen
- 24:45it I'll say it again and again over and
- 24:48over Dr wer Von Brawn showed me alien
- 24:52bodies why would they show him yeah when we went inside it smelled like a
- 24:57hospital I can see heavy glass containers with lifeless bodies lying
- 25:02inside them okay so not what's in the photo then yeah there's no glass
- 25:06containers in the photo anyway this guy's full of [ __ ] it just I I it just
- 25:11disheartens me how many people are replying to him going don't worry mate
- 25:14the truth's going to come out I just my thought is this if you're trying to keep
- 25:18something a secret you got all this involved why would you invite this guy
- 25:24to come and have a look yeah yeah yeah like talk show favorite urri Geller come
- 25:30and have a look you should tell Johnny you can't tell
- 25:34anyone yeah also Veron Bron the Nazi
- 25:38scientist yeah I was about to say name
- 25:42going I know right yeah well ex Nazi Matt ex Nazi we' theer him as their own
- 25:49when you when you Google him that's the first thing it mention yeah that's right
- 25:52oh don't Google him yeah no no no no don't look at his war crimes just look
- 25:55at Operation Paperclip stuff yeah
- 26:00and if the photo I posted did come from the xfiles could it be the production
- 26:05team or the special effects people involved base their models and effects
- 26:08on a genuine photo or image that had been provided to them yeah hi um Chris
- 26:14cter yeah it's the government um if you're going to show aliens in your show
- 26:18it's important that you show them correctly well actually my show's about
- 26:21kind of like exposing government lies yeah yeah yeah yeah but just in the
- 26:25spirit of that here's a picture of the actual Ali B to it breaks my immersion
- 26:29when I watch it and it's not accurate so if we could just send you some photos
- 26:32that' be great that's right yeah like it makes no sense like why do people
- 26:38believe this when that's Story look I want aliens to be real I do I also
- 26:43believe that if aliens were real and they were coming here they're here for
- 26:48terrible purposes oh Matt did you finish project Hail Mary oh I did oh my God so
- 26:54amazing and there was a point and and absolutely no spoilers but there was a
- 26:58point 3 qu of the way in where I was like you better not [ __ ] me mate you
- 27:02better give me a happy ending because if if one single [ __ ] thing happens to
- 27:06this charming alien I'm going to [ __ ] come for you there are so many things in
- 27:10this book that I did not expect like it just kept taking turns and turns like
- 27:14even like when I thought I knew okay I figured out where it's going to go from
- 27:17here that's fine I'll write it out and then just like it's a thing that again
- 27:20no spoilers there's a thing about him that gets revealed at the end that I was
- 27:24just like [ __ ] hell that's so good that is so good good and that you would
- 27:29plant that and not reveal that till so close to the end of quite a long book
- 27:36like trusting your reader will just go on this journey with you and then just
- 27:40give them this gold right at the end it's I'm getting close I purchased it
- 27:45last time we spoke about it the audio book is great I did the a download
- 27:50downloading project H hours hmary it's great it's really
- 27:55good if you like the Martian you like it it's the Martian times 100 cuz it's
- 28:00actually like a fullon space adventure seen the Martian yet oh no don't know
- 28:06why Martian okay the Martian's great except [ __ ] Ridley Scott pisses me
- 28:13off these days oh Matt Matt is like changing camps here two weeks in a row
- 28:18going against Ridley so the Martian the book is again is fantastic right really
- 28:24really good in fact you know second only to project hel perhaps in that genre
- 28:29that that very heavy science science fiction like hard Lost in Space genre
- 28:35like modern very near future hard science stuff um and his other book emus
- 28:42is also very good actually I don't know if you've read that oh no there's
- 28:45there's one that was in between them called Artemis it's set in the moon base
- 28:48that's also very good um but in the movie The Martian there's a bit at the
- 28:54end like spoilers for a book in a movie that are quite old now um
- 28:59where in in the book Mark Watney the scientist right he gets up back up into
- 29:04orbit but he's not close enough to the ship that's trying to pick him up right
- 29:07and they're trying to figure out how the [ __ ] are we going to get him SE yeah and
- 29:10in in the book he says well I'll just cut a hole in the arm of my suit and
- 29:14I'll fly over to you like Iron Man and then they all laugh and they go no
- 29:17that's [ __ ] stupid don't do that he's like no obviously I'm not going to do
- 29:20that that's stupid but then Ridley Scott comes along and he goes he's going to do
- 29:25that in the movie yeah and so that movie I was loving it loving it loving it and then
- 29:30that bit happened and I was like the [ __ ] did you guys watch ad
- 29:35asra no I should watch that so Ad Astra
- 29:38is the same it is 99% one of the
- 29:43greatest man alone in space science fiction movies you likely to see and
- 29:48Brad p is amazing as just this [ __ ] depressed guy going to space for all the
- 29:53wrong reasons oh that's right I have seen this when he's going to cuz he's
- 29:56he's going to go see his father yeah so his dad essentially got lost in
- 30:01space 30 years ago oh okay thought missing and then they're like we picked
- 30:05up a transmission from Jupiter and we think it's your dad and he's like my
- 30:10lost dad is why I became an astronaut right so they sent him to get there but
- 30:14then there's just yeah but then there's and it's this really great stuff and
- 30:18it's mostly about how his psychological
- 30:24changes happen over the course of this mission right cuz has to he has to talk
- 30:30to this this computer to give it a psychological update for it to allow him
- 30:35to continue to it gives it m psych evaluation to allow him continue but he
- 30:39of course he spirals into madness sure but then somebody at the
- 30:45studio said what if we took that beautiful existential story and then put
- 30:52a couple of ridiculous action set pieces into it oh yeah and there are two one
- 30:58where he climbs on the outside of a launching shuttle launching shuttle
- 31:03climb into it as it escapes Earth's orbit right right okay yeah that's
- 31:10plausible scenario yeah love it love it yeah and one even less scen plausible scenario
- 31:16later in the movie so it's it's like you have to just switch off your brain when
- 31:20those those two silly sometimes you do to get the story moving you have to
- 31:24allow for something how does he get into the ship I don't know he climbs in yeah I guess
- 31:30so well they're they're they've already bought the rights and are developing
- 31:35project Hail Mary into a movie starring Ryan I have no idea how they're going to
- 31:41pull off I can't wait to see how they [ __ ] this up but if they if they don't
- 31:46this could be the greatest movie ever made yeah give it to somebody who has a
- 31:50track record of not [ __ ] things up like Den I'm being a little like yeah
- 31:54I'm being a little no but you're not though because it would be so easy [ __ ]
- 31:58this up no no no but I'm saying it could be the greatest movie I mean maybe not
- 32:01but it could be really really amazing like it could be a really really good
- 32:05science fiction movie better than anything we've had in years and years
- 32:07and years you haven't had a good science fiction for a while actually remember
- 32:13bad good science fiction movies oh yeah we don't have any of them anymore you
- 32:18mean like what what do you classify as bad good are we talking like Event
- 32:22Horizon being bad good or is that just good that I would say is good I'm
- 32:26talking about just sort of like old just science fiction moves that
- 32:31are just like they're in space and they're going here just for fun just for
- 32:34fun like we don't have them anymore Silent Running or something like
- 32:39that I love Silent Running of course is great yeah but it's not
- 32:44good right yeah yeah yeah sure yeah you don't have that being made anymore yeah
- 32:50that is true that is true so I was trying to see what I'd read of Andy we
- 32:55um and it turns out I'd actually read
- 32:58some of his short stories oh decades ago yeah he used to post stuff on Reddit
- 33:05yeah all right so he wrote so I found on Reddit like when I was like 25 or
- 33:09something this story called The Egg right which I thought was the most
- 33:14profound thing ever when I was like a college student right which is about
- 33:17this guy who dies and goes to heaven and meets God and finds out that he is The
- 33:22Reincarnation of every single human being who ever lived and it's the same
- 33:26Consciousness just being put into everybody to experience every different
- 33:32way that life could possibly occur right and and I thought that was utter genius
- 33:38and this is before the guy was a novelist this was just a guy who had a
- 33:41Blog and used to post short stories believe that's the same guy the Martian
- 33:46was was he he couldn't get it published and so he just would post chapters on
- 33:50Reddit for a long time and and built up a following and eventually people were
- 33:53like oh we'd like to buy a physical copy of it so he self-published it on Amazon
- 33:57and just went [ __ ] nuts and then now you know jokes on the Publishers cuz he
- 34:02made infinitely more money than he would have if they had just given him a shitty
- 34:06cut of in the first place yeah yeah and he was able to sell the film rights by
- 34:12himself by himself and presumably he made Bank off that as wellet cash yeah
- 34:18yeah yeah and then he lety Scott do that at the end of it for some reason it was
- 34:23it was still it's still a good movie Luke don't let oh no no it is it's
- 34:26fantastic just that bit just like I yeah it just if it didn't have that one bit
- 34:32in it it would just be like better so unnecessary there's a couple of bits
- 34:36like that in Project Hail Mary that I worry they could lean too heavily into
- 34:41and yeah cuz well and actually the the again I don't want to spoil anything but
- 34:46the end of it is a little light on action for a film a modern film like
- 34:52it's more character stuff for the back end of it than action stuff I feel like
- 34:57probably want to add some drama to that b yeah that's true that's true I will
- 35:04get around to listening to it I promise may take me a decade but if you like
- 35:09Arthur C Clark and I know you do you will love this well I actually just push
- 35:13the audio book cuz someone want just won the Arthur C Clark
- 35:16award cuz I wanted to see like if he won that this might be good that's some venomous lump
- 35:23sucker that sounds like a penth band that you would have listened to I know
- 35:29but yeah I just saw this I just saw the book of the author I need clarification
- 35:32on that that's the name of the book um
- 35:35It Is by um Ned Bowman okay so he just
- 35:40won that and I've gone well I like AR Clark work that near future very hard
- 35:45size high so this is like in 2030s and
- 35:49not 2030s 2030 that's 2030 isn't it yes it is yeah I don't know what to say the
- 35:5530s is it the 30s we're going to go the 30s yeah yeah The Swinging
- 36:0030s the 20s just going to ignore the different now anyway because we still
- 36:05say 2,000 nobody said 1,900 and you know what I mean we just said we don't maybe
- 36:11they did in the first couple of hundred years of this the oh yeah they did
- 36:16maybe yeah yeah I think the the 80s were fine 90s were fine then we got to the
- 36:212000 and it just got confusing and then we yeah but at a certain point people
- 36:25won't be confused anymore cuz you say back in 80s I did this they're going to
- 36:28go what the 1780s no obviously not but like even though we are like we're
- 36:33approaching the halfway mark of this centuries you know what I mean but if I
- 36:37say turn of the century you still imagine a penny faring yes you know what
- 36:40I mean that's true yeah that's true literally a penny farthing is what
- 36:46I imagine exactly so I'll let you know if I ever
- 36:51listen to this what it's about I'll tell you this yeah please in fact i' I'd love
- 36:55your thoughts I think you'll really like it actually and it's and it's not it's
- 36:59not some like it's very scientific and they put facts in
- 37:05there but oh yeah that's why I used assume everything except for the plot is
- 37:09real that's why I used to love like hardcore science fiction when I used to
- 37:12read a lot like after I used to read that and he actually start putting blurs
- 37:16in like did this and this is like Nas is doing research into this now like and
- 37:22some lities you have to though because it is also still he must have in this
- 37:27there's almost certainly things in this we can't know that but it's fine but you
- 37:32base it off what what we know now and what where we're going but yeah there
- 37:35has to be some Stu you take a leap where we might get to that just yeah just the
- 37:40amount of effort that clearly went into that too is just like when I it's just a
- 37:44joy to to like read SL listen to and just to know man he must to spent so
- 37:50much time on this an idiot he he says it in ways to you cuz like it's narrated by
- 37:56the character who is a scientist but he talks to you as if you were also a
- 38:00scientist so he'd be like well the first thing I thought of was um to use like
- 38:05this technology but as we all know that would only work in zero gravity and I've
- 38:10got the gravity turned on like it makes you feel smart for reading it yeah okay
- 38:17um speaking of smart people versus idiots I got caught up in a conspiracy
- 38:21theory Rabbit Hole the other night so um I've had a cold this week so I'm I'm
- 38:25sleeping in my study uh because now that we have a child if we both get sick it's
- 38:30all over right um so one of us needs to be well at all times so I've just
- 38:35retreated in here um but it just means there there's just no reason to not stay
- 38:39up late going down conspiracy theory rabbit holes on be careful Reddit um but
- 38:45I came out the other morning and I opened up my laptop and I found all of
- 38:48these tabs open of like Amazon and all this stuff where I was like I'm like I'm
- 38:52so glad I didn't pull the Amazon or amazon.com oh no no but just like I was
- 38:57like oh [ __ ] these guys have I'm going to I'm going to read everything they've
- 39:00[ __ ] published on this so you guys are aware of the Out of Africa Theory
- 39:04the Out of Africa hypothesis being that all human beings on the planet right now
- 39:09are the exact same species of human being even though there have been many
- 39:14and we are all of us every single one of us evolved from a single tribe of
- 39:18migratory hominids that moved out of Northeast Africa about 70,000 years ago
- 39:24right yes I'm familiar with that that's that's what I was as that's pretty much
- 39:28what most academics would would assume now there's still questions in that like
- 39:32okay well how did they and what happened when they encountered this the IND
- 39:35theander thals in in Europe and the denans in Asia and all this stuff like
- 39:39this right that we don't know and there is a lot of controversy of people that
- 39:42say well if that's the case how have the Australian Aborigines been here for so
- 39:47long and how has their culture been so continuous when a you wouldn't have had
- 39:52like seafaring technology at at that time to to get to
- 39:56Australia B they came here as if it was their destination a knowing it was there
- 40:02which they couldn't possibly have done and B if they were so technolog
- 40:05technologically advanced they didn't just then start conquering South America
- 40:08and other places as well they seemed to know that this was the destination right
- 40:12now the truth seems to be that sea levels were so low back then yes that
- 40:17they essentially walked here right across what what we now call the islands
- 40:21of Indonesia what they used to call just land right um but there are these Aussie
- 40:27guys who are um they are archaeologists but um essentially from further reading
- 40:34I found out they essentially disgraced and no one will
- 40:36public um they're the most interesting kind though the M yeah yeah so the main
- 40:41guy is called Steven Strong and he has published many many books on what he
- 40:45calls the out of Australia Theory right oh which is so everyone came from he
- 40:50first correct and so his his his hypothesis is based on the fact that
- 40:56that is in fact what the indigenous mythology actually says right so the
- 41:02Aboriginal stories of the dream time say we were the first humans and everyone
- 41:07else evolved separately in different places so he's not necessarily saying
- 41:12that everyone started in Australia and then spread but he's saying that
- 41:15the the people that began in Australia that lived in Australia the original
- 41:20habitas evolved here right and then he backs that up with evidence I'm using
- 41:25evidence in quotes but he find evidence you know what I mean like they found
- 41:29like the oldest cave drawings were in Australia or something andu like they
- 41:33found they found human remains that that that shouldn't because they like if they
- 41:36walked from Indonesia then that means they were at the top of Australia first
- 41:41and then had to migrate down to the bottom so why is there cart in the
- 41:44bottom of Australia dated before they were even supposed to have left Africa
- 41:48and I guess the answer is because it's not as simple as that yeah right yeah I
- 41:52mean that's all very that is very interesting and I maybe there's
- 41:55something too but then I I would think aren't we all too similar like
- 42:00genetically to have grown to evolved completely separately like doesn't I I
- 42:06could be wrong yes no you're I could be wrong but maybe that's yeah I don't know
- 42:10I don't I'm not a scientist I'm not a biologist different races back then with
- 42:14like the anthol and stuff like that it wasn't that they beat them like killed
- 42:18them it was that they bred with them and that's what it is like or they just
- 42:23competed with them for resources and and
- 42:28it wasn't genocide we killed them all it's we sort of unless we did all evolve
- 42:32separately but we were seeded from the same
- 42:37stuff space black stuff they got put
- 42:40into a river sure yeah several Rivers
- 42:45yeah mhm prove me wrong Danny I know it's I'm just asking the question it's
- 42:49one of these things like they can get a pretty good idea but then also hly like
- 42:53stuff that happens like over not like over a couple of years is which is where
- 42:57a lot of people who don't believe in um Evolution Evolution they believe like
- 43:03well why isn't it involved now CU it doesn't take yeah it takes are evolving
- 43:08now thousands of years stuff in between doesn't just stick around likeing well
- 43:14but that's the thing turned into it the other thing it does we all the stuff in
- 43:17between there is no in between it's just what is yeah because is they find a
- 43:23mitochondrial ancestor of of theoretically everybody they
- 43:27theoretically found one but they didn't find it it's not like they found a
- 43:31body that's that's all I'm saying no but that's certainly the theory that that
- 43:36there there would be one female that is the the ancestor to to every mital Eve
- 43:43as it were yeah her name's Eve
- 43:47yeah lovely lady wife yeah made from a
- 43:51rib yeah that's right delicious y oh I
- 43:55love ribs yeah um but but so and I was buying this to a
- 44:02certain point too because it's like like yeah okay okay okay is interesting yeah
- 44:08but and they start saying but then they start saying that there's similarities
- 44:14between the myths of ancient people you know yeah that's I'm also very
- 44:17interested in finding that I mean you know the the whole theory of the
- 44:21monomyth you know that that Joseph Campbell talks about which is just like
- 44:24humans come up with the same story stru no matter where you are um but then you
- 44:31know these guys have got a whole book about how some Aborigines travel to
- 44:34ancient Egypt and and that's and that's why they're similar that like probably
- 44:39not though right probably not they probably didn't maybe but probably not
- 44:45but that's how sort of these things work they start off with stuff that's
- 44:47plausible and then they just go and then there are people who just well this is
- 44:51all true and go down the it reminds me of some of those guys that that
- 44:55emancipated from science ology um there's a there's a guy haggus uh Tom
- 45:02haggus is a screenwriter Hollywood screenwriter and he's very vocal about
- 45:06um leaving Scientology right cuz he was like when it first got described to me
- 45:11it was amazing it was basically just a self-actualization cult a cult but I
- 45:16knew that basically they said if you join us we give you the confidence the
- 45:20skills and the contacts to achieve your dreams and he was like sign me the [ __ ]
- 45:23up and so he was doing it and as he raised through the level they were given
- 45:27him more opportunities opening more doors and then one day he got to a
- 45:31certain level they took him in the room and they're like right we're going to
- 45:34tell you about the squid monsters now he sorry what like yeah yeah you're ruled
- 45:40by squid monsters I'm out yeah that's what he said can we just pretend this
- 45:46meeting didn't happen yeah can we go back to yesterday back to level six yeah
- 45:50please just stay there cuz yeah cuz when I did go into
- 45:57Scientology just to do that one course and buy those books there was nothing
- 46:01about just to join yeah they still send me emails and I I haven't had a phone
- 46:07call for a while but that's good um they don't Focus much
- 46:14on what it's actually about yeah it's no more on that self-building that
- 46:20confidence that like he's this and this will help you with life and that in fact
- 46:25it might be a problem that you know already about that stuff I don't know
- 46:30exactly what they would do about it but I'm sure that would cause that'd be
- 46:33somewhat problematic for them trying to I would say they would just tell you
- 46:36that's flat out not true most most of the information I have about the beliefs
- 46:40and Scientology do come from South
- 46:44Park they are very well researched yes like that the aliens came here on like
- 46:50747s essentially and yeah there's a website back in the day that I got a lot
- 46:54of info from before that uh I think through something awful somebody on
- 46:59something awful link to it cuz uh forget some high-profile person had like bailed
- 47:05on the church and and anyway there's a website that was like um this is what
- 47:09they believe and everyone was like no it's not for a long time people were
- 47:13like no no way yeah and then turns out like I I got to know some Jehovah's
- 47:18Witnesses it je yeah Jehovah's Witnesses once who were telling me that basically
- 47:25if you if you do enough like good stuff
- 47:29on earth right MH in the afterlife you'll get your own Planet yeah that
- 47:35you're the god of and you can move your Mor too right maybe it's Mormons I'm
- 47:40thinking of Mormon that I think what yeah right yeah and I'm like that's some
- 47:45sci-fi [ __ ] mate yeah you do so good that you get to become God and just now
- 47:51I control Planet yeah but also you move your family to that planet so you could
- 47:56like look if you've got a like a [ __ ] Uncle who's like a really excellent one
- 48:01you could suddenly have to be oh you've got to leave Earth because he's actually
- 48:04got a that's where it fall that's where it falls apart for me that's where it
- 48:08falls apart well no no when you think about it if you're on my
- 48:14planet no but if you're really into this and you believe that like I'll get to go
- 48:19and then if I get to take like my family with me then when you start to notice
- 48:24that no one you've ever known has ever just entire blood have just disappeared
- 48:31overnight well maybe it's like Spiderman you just don't remember that
- 48:37they ever existed oh and that's why there's abandoned
- 48:41houses you don't even no was working the shift tomorrow used to used to be tons
- 48:47of Mormons in Detroit yep and they all used to work at
- 48:51a car factory who's working there now no one nobody yeah I think I think that's
- 48:57yeah that's the problem I have with it that's where it doesn't work for
- 49:00me that's where that's where until that until then
- 49:05yeah before we wrap the main show we got a little while to go I want to talk
- 49:09about some Vig games oh oh I'm good at Vig games I finished the main story for
- 49:15Assassin's Creed Origins okay took took a lot longer than
- 49:19I thought it would at the start only taken about 10 years things that no no
- 49:23no no Origins only started this year but it came out a long long time
- 49:28ago oh yeah but I didn't play it so that doesn't that doesn't
- 49:32count um it was it's it was very good got convoluted like as their plots do I
- 49:38really feel like it lost the thread there a bit like all I cared about was
- 49:42him and his son yeah and it kind of went all over the place a bit but it wrapped
- 49:48up in the end was good I probably won't go back to it I've got tons of stuff
- 49:51left to do don't care I'll finished the main story line I'm good uh I was
- 49:56surprised where it ended actually luk you finished it right okay I don't want
- 49:59to spoil anything I cannot remember though it was a very long time ago you
- 50:02canoil I killed Julius Caesar oh that's right yeah yeah okay
- 50:09yep yep I do think it was bizarre that they they made an ancient Egypt game but
- 50:14set it heavy on Roman times yeah because because by then you'd
- 50:19have Alexander the Great conquer them with the toies and then you'd had the
- 50:22the Romans conquer yeah yeah interesting I I um well it makes sense politically
- 50:28for the Intrigue that they want going on I guess like and to keep it gets into a
- 50:32lot of that c and everything stuff yeah yeah yeah so um anyway yeah it was good
- 50:39good like I said just kind of Meed as they do like those games pad themselves
- 50:45out basically um and then I thought uh I
- 50:49I want to play bers gate three B just before we move on from Assassin's Creed
- 50:54I can actually just announce that well not announced they they announced that that
- 51:00the is coming out this year but they've moved a date for
- 51:05it further or back um here's something they've actually moved it
- 51:10Forward oh so the game's already G compete with do not compete with uh
- 51:16Starfield or something Starfield been gold it it it does compete a little bit
- 51:20more because October is sort of a very busy month for games but so of actually
- 51:25it was been to release on the 12th of oob is now going to release on the
- 51:295th whereas Stargate comes out beginning of September so I think Stargate
- 51:35Starfield got Stargate in my head there was a Stargate you know what because
- 51:39Stargate is a [ __ ] excellent movie and it holds up even to this day I
- 51:43watched it earlier this year before we completely move off Assassin's Creed as
- 51:46well I haven't played any more of Origins although it's very very good I
- 51:51did download Early Access of a game recently called gate zero have you heard
- 51:57of this no so this is developed by um
- 52:01the publisher is called Bible X and yes
- 52:05they are a Christian based um game developer studio um this game
- 52:12essentially is um Assassin's Creed With Jesus and uh I heard about it and I was
- 52:18like I have to [ __ ] play this wait it doesn't look to Jesus no you don't play
- 52:23as Jesus it doesn't look bad does it it looks quite good and like I'm interested
- 52:27histor Jesus I'll play that in like ancient you know the ancient near
- 52:33e but so you're hanging out in Jerusalem and all these places and that you hear I
- 52:39think I don't know what the story what little travel through time to AG Israel
- 52:42in this compelling Rich story Rich Adventure uh gather resources use
- 52:47stealth to avoid danger L it doesn't say whether you're Pro or or con Jesus I
- 52:51don't think the only thing I don't think I'd like about this is I don't think you
- 52:55get to attack people I'm looking at this one screenshot and
- 52:59it's like um you know you know in games like this where you you find an item you
- 53:03hover over it and it the Holy Grail Holy Grail pick up X oh my God yeah pick it
- 53:09up look the only thing yeah this do look good but I think it's going to be full
- 53:12on stealth game I don't think it's going to be you fighting that's how I play
- 53:16these games anyway so yeah but the problem with that is if normally I do
- 53:20try and play stealth but then if someone sees me everyone has to die it's
- 53:25well dying because he saw me but this looks like it might be shut your mouth Jim yes
- 53:32yeah so okay but no it does look it looks good it does look good it looks
- 53:37way too good for for what it is oh and I'm looking at like a future thing so
- 53:43yeah it does look like a very Assassin's Creed like you go back and relieve a
- 53:47memory and yeah yeah it's Assassin's
- 53:50Creed With Jesus yeah H all right what's
- 53:54it called gate Z gate zero all right I mean I'll report back next week and let
- 54:01you know yeah how it is well I I played
- 54:05some Boulders Gate 3 I have one question I'm on my Mac and [ __ ] technically I
- 54:11haven't [ __ ] a bear yet I will but I haven't yet uh the Mac version is not released
- 54:17yet I'm still early access only the PC versions out like console or any
- 54:22PlayStation it's not coming out the Xbox but um it is well is it yes they're
- 54:28still working on it yeah well when when you say they're working on it I don't
- 54:32think they are working on it I think they're waiting theying about it yeah I
- 54:35think they are working on it and they there's nothing to work on right the
- 54:41problem is that they can't release it with co-op on the series s and Microsoft
- 54:47said well you can't release it with with co-op on one and without co-op on the
- 54:51other and so they said well we won't release it then so they kind of an
- 54:54impass so I don't think they're working on anything no no the last thing I did
- 54:57say that they are working on it on the S still but I think they're more so trying
- 55:01to push Xbox to go okay don't yeah just let us release it without Co-op so it
- 55:06[ __ ] works yeah I mean don't understand Microsoft and why they are so
- 55:11I I guess it's because they want to blow the line doesn't matter which one you
- 55:14get get the problem is is that's how they that's how they sold the two
- 55:17consoles the fact that you don't they were both work on both what is that
- 55:22relying on the fact that half the people don't know the difference like the only
- 55:25reason a lot of people brought an S was because there weren't enough stock of
- 55:29the X yeah that's true yeah like
- 55:34so come eventually and I think they and I only got one because you got two I got
- 55:39three actually I still got you didn't give me one when you got
- 55:45a second you give me one when you got a third I need to have a backup Xbox if it
- 55:49breaks what am I meant to do first world problems I played a bunch
- 55:55of BS Gate 3 enjoy it it's [ __ ] excellent but I realized I I should wait
- 56:00until the final release version because first of all I don't even have the full
- 56:03character creator which it's going to annoy me if it gets released because I'm
- 56:06going to be like what if my characters you know I haven't realized the full
- 56:10potential of my character kind of thing so I'm so now I'm waiting so I thought
- 56:15I'll try something else and I checked out atomic heart on the Xbox cuz I
- 56:20hadn't played that yet and I don't like it no
- 56:27struggled with it it's that character is so [ __ ] annoying I was like I don't
- 56:32want to play you anticipated games of the year and I put it on I was like oh I
- 56:37am not enjoying this I don't know it misses the mark somehow I just
- 56:42can't maybe it gets better but the start of it was I was like I don't like this
- 56:47and then I got had to fight robots with an axe and I was like this is yeah not
- 56:52and So Many Robots it's like okay kill you kill robots B I'm bored now yeah I
- 56:58don't know it's missing something and I don't know what it is and I
- 57:03think very unlikable for me I just I was
- 57:07like shut up he was like whining I I try and put it on every now and again to try
- 57:13but I go like it's not quite clear what you meant to be doing and it's pretty
- 57:17yeah yeah it's like very pretty definitely pretty and and like the world
- 57:21looks cool like I just I don't know
- 57:27just I played it a bit and then I was like nah I'm so happy this is a Game
- 57:31Pass game cuz I would have been upset if I paid for it yeah same yeah I might
- 57:36have forced myself to play it more and maybe if I liked it yeah but the fact
- 57:41that it was Game Pass I was like yeah okay I'll just ride this off yeah Alo I
- 57:44play some more Dia 4 instead and then that's great I need to go back to that
- 57:49people are really mad about it because it came the season one you know they did
- 57:53the seasons thing yeah in Diablo that came out first of all I guess a lot of
- 57:57new people didn't realize you have to make a new character for the seasons so
- 58:00they were pissed off about that cuz it didn't I guess it didn't explain that
- 58:03very well in any of the marketing well it's not an RPG it doesn't matter if
- 58:06you're playing it with a new character I but I guess people didn't understand and
- 58:12then um and then they also put a whole bunch of new weapons I think I think
- 58:17what happened is they made there's a new thing where you can upgrade your weapons
- 58:22in a way you couldn't before and they realized oh they're too powerful mhm so they
- 58:27downgraded everything in the game to balance it which [ __ ] over people who
- 58:33were kind of min-maxing their characters and then I mean the the Practical effect
- 58:38for someone like me is nothing yeah because I I don't care the game still
- 58:43plays the same but the people who are really super into it got understand what
- 58:48the stats are and how everything works together and it ruined whatever their
- 58:52spury plan was for their character so anyway game's still for people like us
- 58:59it makes no real difference no I couldn't even tell
- 59:03monsters literally no difference to me yeah yeah I'm not looking at the numbers
- 59:09I'm just holding the button down while my Barbarian spins around and hits
- 59:11things with his two [ __ ] swords he still does that yeah I was about to say
- 59:16aren't you describing Diablo one Matt yeah yep and two this one it's very much
- 59:23like that except this one is got an Eastern Europe feel uh which I like
- 59:28actually yeah like PR just because it's newer they're all a little prettier yeah
- 59:34yeah I two kind of looked like one but three was shinier four is even shinier
- 59:39yeah it's good it's fun it's funny like one and two came out pretty close
- 59:45together and then a long time between three and then four but yeah games B two
- 59:50used to come out very quickly back in the day well it's like the first two
- 59:55fallouts when Fallout 2 came out it was like can we have another Fallout please
- 59:58we want it exactly the same except just bit longer and they're like yeah sure
- 1:00:03here it is got rid of the worst feature that Fallout one had that time limit to
- 1:00:07get that stupid water chip oh the chip yeah yeah cuz that was the worst thing
- 1:00:12about the fall that game CU if you did sort of get distracted doing other stuff
- 1:00:16the game just ends oh yeah yeah it didn't it didn't reward you for
- 1:00:22exploring before you did the main story yeah no which I know wants to unlock
- 1:00:27every every part of the map before he even attempts the story he's got to
- 1:00:31decide what he's going to do he need to know in advance all the
- 1:00:34options last time I played through skym like I went through and then but playing
- 1:00:38through the main story line I was just a monster just slaughtering everything
- 1:00:41because I'd already maxed out every other skill and had dragon armor before
- 1:00:45it ever left white run so I tried to do that my last playthrough of Skyrim I was
- 1:00:49kind of the same I wanted to basically not say no to any opportunity that came
- 1:00:53up if if I passed a cave I had to go into the if someone sent me on a I had
- 1:00:57to go I had to say yes to everything except you can't do that their lives like that
- 1:01:02Dan I've been told supposed to always say yes no I don't now I'm G I'm gonna
- 1:01:07say you're GNA have to make a choice with Starfield with that because there's
- 1:01:14a thousand Planet yeah that's right well the first game that taught me you can't
- 1:01:18do that was The Witcher the very first Witcher cuz when you get to that first
- 1:01:24town the way I used to play games was you choose every dialogue option to
- 1:01:28unlock all the possibilities but when you talk to that dwarf like uh
- 1:01:32blacksmith in the first town one of the options is just to talk to to tell him
- 1:01:38make some offensive joke and you click that option he goes [ __ ] off and he want
- 1:01:43talk to you ever again and then you don't have a blacksmith good luck buying
- 1:01:47any up yeah that's right yeah and I was like oh this is that's how it is okay
- 1:01:52it's the first game that ever had consequences like that yeah yeah cuz the
- 1:01:56second you mean you do want to insult him cuz this will be funny and then I'll
- 1:02:00just go back and oh this will be funny I can say it and in fact a lot of those old games
- 1:02:06like even Skyrim you have to say everything that's available to you to
- 1:02:11get all opportunities and if you insult them and then just talk to me they don't
- 1:02:15oh yeah he literally goes [ __ ] off and he won't talk to you over again I love
- 1:02:21in Skyrim like obviously characters are programmed to just say certain things to
- 1:02:25you no matter where you encounter them but like if sometimes you walk into the
- 1:02:29shop and the guy's like I work at the local shop and you're like I know I'm in
- 1:02:34the shop right talk they do that though Starfield they disappointed though because they've
- 1:02:40taken they've taken the arrow in the knee line out completely as far as I can
- 1:02:44tell because in this entire playthrough no one has told me about the arrow in
- 1:02:47the knee and that's all I remember from the first playthrough was that everyone
- 1:02:51I used to be an adventurer and I took an arrow in the knee I love all the
- 1:02:54screenshots of the guards going have to keep our eyes open there could be
- 1:02:57dragons around and there's like a [ __ ] dragon breeding fire on him
- 1:03:00right one my own bosses call when I was calling him seik I just sent him a
- 1:03:05message that I took an hour to the knee and go okay I'll see you
- 1:03:10tomorrow he's like great well I've just told him again that I was just playing
- 1:03:13video games he's given me the day off but yeah no evidently Starfield have
- 1:03:19said is going to be their least buggiest game
- 1:03:23ever which would want to be since they they they postponed it for a year
- 1:03:29remember was come meant to come out November last year don't don't want any
- 1:03:34more games released before they're ready I'm actually happy that they're doing
- 1:03:37this because we're close to being released now fall out 76 they must have
- 1:03:42learned a lesson from that please have learned a
- 1:03:46lesson don't make online games yeah yeah there's a lot of lessons
- 1:03:52they learned from that no they're still they're still adding content still
- 1:03:56playing it honest I could thinking of going back
- 1:04:00in it got okay after you can essentially play single player game yeah you still
- 1:04:07can but people are playing Starfield already I've seen like like journalists
- 1:04:11playing to get their reviews ready
- 1:04:15so we not obviously time will tell I I I will have a review for you before it was
- 1:04:21released o you yes wait what does that mean
- 1:04:26never you mind oh it's a threat wait a review from somebody else or from
- 1:04:32yourself I I get an early copy of it that's all how early how early
- 1:04:38um I don't know how early not not this
- 1:04:41early but maybe a week early why why don't I get it because because I've done
- 1:04:47something stupid it's fine don't worry about it move on oh cuz you
- 1:04:52thing so I get we can't move on we're going to we move on we move on to the
- 1:04:56after party spit it out get Early Access so a lot of people
- 1:05:01going have Early Access but the official I'll still play it before the official
- 1:05:03release date okay so see now we've bookended this with the actual reason
- 1:05:08that your yes wife will be murdering you is because you've bribed Todd Howard to
- 1:05:13give you the game you paid a lot of extra money she listens to this so I'm going to
- 1:05:18murder lot of money it's a pretty
- 1:05:23watch it's a very pretty watch we should be able to watch it on the video of this
- 1:05:29podcast you should be able to know what time it is that you're getting it early
- 1:05:36yes speaking of the party what is the party yeah the part is um well basically
- 1:05:42uh the fun doesn't stop here man no the the fun continues in the Afterparty um
- 1:05:49just with less pants and um you're wearing pants find out in the afterparty
- 1:05:55patreon.com multiple nasm
- 1:06:00pants minus SL pants I'll say this I've recently
- 1:06:06started wearing drawring drawring pants and I'm I'm never going back I put a
- 1:06:11pair of jeans on the other day and I was like jeans are [ __ ] [ __ ] I told you I
- 1:06:15want those linen pants a little while back I fought more of them they're so
- 1:06:19comfortable I'm wearing what they call joggers which are like slightly posher
- 1:06:24trackon pants sure I wear them every day every day so
- 1:06:30you're not call full Bogan I
- 1:06:35mean he's not wearing a blue
- 1:06:38singlet AKA true we call a wife beater probably don't call them that
- 1:06:44anymore I probably wouldn't even call it that yeah not but yeah that was really a
- 1:06:48terrible thing to call something wasn't it just casually you and your wife beat
- 1:06:53her mate I could beat my wife jumper I want this is where we grew up that's
- 1:06:58literally what everybody called them yes like it wasn't an edgy joke or anything
- 1:07:03no that's what they were called MH yeah and in fact if you wore a different
- 1:07:07color one they just put the color and still say wife be oh you got a a black
- 1:07:12wife beat it yeah yeah that's fun white wife
- 1:07:15beat oh the blue one was the official
- 1:07:20uniform that in a pack of wi so often
- 1:07:26again this is not just us everybody called it that no well everywhere we
- 1:07:31grew up at least and it's because and now like we just said it and Luke
- 1:07:35literally in real time went oh that's a bit off isn't it but at the time it
- 1:07:38didn't come up cuz that's what it was called didn't think about it it's not
- 1:07:41associated with what the name is even no no and in fact what the thing is called
- 1:07:46battered wives would would call them that without going oh that it was it
- 1:07:51wasn't a wife it was just that's what they were called that now it's like when
- 1:07:56you point out to old people now how something something they call something
- 1:07:59is racist and they go why is it racist explain and they go I never really
- 1:08:02thought about it it's like that right yeah yeah well I had that actually yeah
- 1:08:08like um Chinese Whispers oh yeah we just got Whispers at my
- 1:08:13house but no cuz I actually said that it worked the other day and I've G oh hold
- 1:08:17on cuz I cuz that's just a game I played in primary school you know in the whole
- 1:08:22rest of the world they call that game broken telephone it's only in Australia
- 1:08:26we call that China we decided to make that they don't call it that here
- 1:08:29actually yeah it is broken telephone you just said that and I'm like that is what
- 1:08:32they call it here yeah yeah y so yeah I had to talk with someone at work to go
- 1:08:38is this is's gone no it's fine but yeah but yeah I just never thought of it
- 1:08:42because that's just the game I was taught I was taught in Primary School to
- 1:08:47play Chinese Whispers I was taught in year three
- 1:08:53social studies to call the Aboriginal people Wild black Fellers yeah wow I've
- 1:08:58got the workbook to prove it well crocodile
- 1:09:04dande uh encourages some stuff that's not you know so the rest of the world's
- 1:09:09probably aware of all the horrible things but they think it's
- 1:09:14normal like I think that's why the rest of the world thinks Australia's
- 1:09:18intolerant and well I think Australia has always been that's one of the
- 1:09:21reasons casually racist more than yeah
- 1:09:26actively RAC yeah yeah activ racist I'm Mak good I'm making eable I'm
- 1:09:32actively racist when I think of it I always yeah I get off off my ass and be
- 1:09:38racist racist keep on there something else this is
- 1:09:44terrible this is still the main show see you all the after
