- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:15Speaker 1: Hawkgirl Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:18Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:21Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:23Speaker 1: the Hawkgirl Energy you want to attract. Hello you, guys,
- 0:26Speaker 1: welcome back to another episode. This week has been totally
- 0:30Speaker 1: chaotic for me. I am leaving on a trip this weekend,
- 0:34Speaker 1: and I really wanted to get a podcast episode up,
- 0:38Speaker 1: but obviously all the last minute things are being thrown
- 0:40Speaker 1: in my face when it comes to work, when it
- 0:42Speaker 1: comes to house appointments, and just like all in all appointments,
- 0:46Speaker 1: prepping for the trip, all that. So to be fully transparent,
- 0:50Speaker 1: I did not have the time to write a script
- 0:52Speaker 1: or prepare for a podcast episode this week. But I'm like,
- 0:56Speaker 1: you know what, I haven't done a sit down girl
- 0:59Speaker 1: chat episode in such a long time. I just thought
- 1:01Speaker 1: it'd be fun to kind of share some updates on
- 1:04Speaker 1: where I'm going on this trip, you know, house updates,
- 1:07Speaker 1: my back injury, things that I'm doing to kind of
- 1:10Speaker 1: prepare myself for pregnancy, all that. So this is very
- 1:13Speaker 1: much just kind of like a personal episode but I
- 1:15Speaker 1: always love to do episodes like this the odd time.
- 1:18Speaker 1: That way we can kind of build a personal connection
- 1:20Speaker 1: and you guys can kind of get a bit of
- 1:22Speaker 1: a life update of what's been going on currently in
- 1:25Speaker 1: my life. Okay, firstly, let's talk about this trip, because
- 1:28Speaker 1: I'm leaving this weekend to go to Costa Rica, which
- 1:32Speaker 1: I am so beyond excited for. If you've been to
- 1:34Speaker 1: Costa Rica, please send me your rex. I would love
- 1:37Speaker 1: your recommendations. But I've never been, and I'm very very excited.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I feel like usually around this time of the year,
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'm always itching for a trip.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I'm always wanting to get away.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And January is obviously the longest month of the year,
- 1:52Speaker 1: which we all know, or at least feels like the
- 1:54Speaker 1: longest month of the year in my opinion, and I
- 1:58Speaker 1: just always feel like I'm craving a trip or this
- 2:00Speaker 1: time of the year, especially with you know, February coming
- 2:03Speaker 1: around the corner. I know February is usually a pretty
- 2:06Speaker 1: hard month for me as well, with the winter blues
- 2:08Speaker 1: in the winter season, and I just am always itching
- 2:11Speaker 1: to get a little bit of sunshine, a little bit
- 2:13Speaker 1: of a tan. So I booked a last minute trip,
- 2:16Speaker 1: and I am going to Costa Rica with my sister
- 2:19Speaker 1: and my parents. So unfortunately Zach is not coming with us.
- 2:23Speaker 1: He is stuck here getting some stuff done for work,
- 2:27Speaker 1: which is totally fine. But I just want to talk
- 2:29Speaker 1: about like going on a trip with your parents, because
- 2:32Speaker 1: coming from someone who is almost thirty, still going on
- 2:36Speaker 1: vacations with my parents, I think is honestly cool in
- 2:40Speaker 1: my opinion, because I kind of picture my life, you know,
- 2:43Speaker 1: a few years from now, hoping that Zach and I
- 2:45Speaker 1: have one or two kids by that point, and I
- 2:48Speaker 1: want my parents to come on vacations with us, especially
- 2:52Speaker 1: when the kids are young, at least one trip a year,
- 2:54Speaker 1: and then Zach and I with our future children, all
- 2:58Speaker 1: going to a resort that's kid friendly, you know, having
- 3:01Speaker 1: my parents help out, kind of just going on a
- 3:04Speaker 1: trip with my family, and then including my parents and
- 3:06Speaker 1: my sister and my sister's future husband and my sister's
- 3:09Speaker 1: future kids eventually as well. Like I think, you know,
- 3:12Speaker 1: combining family trips and like doing it with your sibling
- 3:16Speaker 1: and then having your sibling with their husband and their kids,
- 3:19Speaker 1: and just kind of creating a tradition where you can
- 3:21Speaker 1: go on trips, whether it's during the holiday season for Christmas,
- 3:25Speaker 1: or if it's birthdays, or if it's honestly like just
- 3:28Speaker 1: this time of the year, wanting to get to a
- 3:29Speaker 1: tropical location. Like I picture my life doing a trip
- 3:33Speaker 1: with my parents, with my kids and my family in general,
- 3:37Speaker 1: and seeing that as like a yearly tradition thing. I
- 3:40Speaker 1: don't know, that's just my opinion, but I can see
- 3:42Speaker 1: that happening. And then also going on a trip with
- 3:45Speaker 1: just me and my husband, like just me and Zach
- 3:47Speaker 1: getting away, needing a break from the kids, you know,
- 3:50Speaker 1: also prioritizing our relationship, making that a priority. And then
- 3:54Speaker 1: maybe again just going on a trip with just my family,
- 3:57Speaker 1: so me, my husband, and my two kids going somewhere
- 4:00Speaker 1: or maybe more local that's a bit easier to you know,
- 4:03Speaker 1: travel with kids, maybe somewhere in Canada. Again, doing a
- 4:06Speaker 1: little trip with just us four or three or whenever
- 4:10Speaker 1: we have kids kind of situation. So that would be
- 4:12Speaker 1: like my dream world of how I would picture my
- 4:15Speaker 1: life is doing three vacations each year and kind of
- 4:18Speaker 1: spacing out that way. Anyways, I just wanted to talk
- 4:20Speaker 1: about that quickly because I feel like some people might
- 4:23Speaker 1: turn their head saying like you're almost thirty and you're
- 4:25Speaker 1: going on a vacation with your parents. Hey, if my
- 4:27Speaker 1: parents want to take me on a trip and they're
- 4:29Speaker 1: going somewhere warm and I can't go away with my
- 4:31Speaker 1: husband because my husband is stuck here working, I'm gonna say,
- 4:34Speaker 1: hecky yes, and I'm going to enjoy that time with
- 4:37Speaker 1: my family because I think I've really appreciated the time
- 4:41Speaker 1: of you know, just like realizing how much my parents
- 4:45Speaker 1: have done for me. I think as you age, you
- 4:47Speaker 1: kind of realize like, wow, like my parents have done
- 4:49Speaker 1: a lot for me, and I truly do appreciate it.
- 4:51Speaker 1: But also just like once you move out and you
- 4:54Speaker 1: don't go as home as much, I feel like I
- 4:56Speaker 1: definitely see my parents kind of always struggling and always
- 5:00Speaker 1: like seeing me on a weekly basis and just kind
- 5:02Speaker 1: of like missing me not being home all the time.
- 5:05Speaker 1: And I have a very close relationship with my family,
- 5:06Speaker 1: and I know not everyone's like that, but it does
- 5:09Speaker 1: make me a little sad because I think about, you know,
- 5:11Speaker 1: my future, and I think about my kids moving out.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Obviously that's years and years away from that, but the
- 5:17Speaker 1: point is is that like my parents obviously still see
- 5:20Speaker 1: me as their baby girl. Right, So so if I'm
- 5:23Speaker 1: able to do these, you know, week trips with them
- 5:25Speaker 1: or just like going to see them on a weekly
- 5:27Speaker 1: basis and doing a dinner with them, like I know
- 5:29Speaker 1: that means so much to them.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And also like.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Our parents are getting older, right, Like that's also something
- 5:36Speaker 1: I think about, Like it's kind of scary to think
- 5:38Speaker 1: how time is going by so fast. Like I feel
- 5:41Speaker 1: like I'm not almost thirty. I feel like I'm like
- 5:44Speaker 1: nineteen or twenty not really, but you know what I mean,
- 5:47Speaker 1: Like I feel like time hasn't moved this fast. Like mentally,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I feel like I'm like twenty five, but I'm twenty nine.
- 5:53Speaker 1: But the point is is that I just have realized
- 5:56Speaker 1: how fast time is going by and how much I
- 5:59Speaker 1: appreciate my parents and kind of trying to put myself
- 6:02Speaker 1: in their shoes of understanding that you know, their first
- 6:05Speaker 1: daughter is married and moved out and is trying to
- 6:08Speaker 1: have a baby. Like I think that's really wild to
- 6:10Speaker 1: think about and something that makes me realize that like
- 6:13Speaker 1: I should truly appreciate the time that I spend with
- 6:16Speaker 1: my parents, and to also just feel so lucky that
- 6:18Speaker 1: I do have a good relationship with my family, and yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 1: I actually had an influencer message me. She's a mom,
- 6:25Speaker 1: she has a daughter that's three years old, and she
- 6:28Speaker 1: literally completely changed my perspective about, you know, me traveling
- 6:31Speaker 1: with my parents at this age. She said, I pray
- 6:34Speaker 1: that my daughter at twenty nine years old wants to
- 6:37Speaker 1: go on vacation with me, like, and that break there
- 6:40Speaker 1: kind of change my perspective where it's like, you know what,
- 6:42Speaker 1: I am going to see it that way too when
- 6:44Speaker 1: I'm a mom and I have a kid, Like, it
- 6:47Speaker 1: would be a dream of mine to have such a
- 6:49Speaker 1: strong relationship with my daughter or future son and be
- 6:52Speaker 1: able to like travel with them and do fun things
- 6:54Speaker 1: together with them. So anyways, that's what kind of changed
- 6:57Speaker 1: my perspective on that. And now I actually look forward
- 7:00Speaker 1: to doing a trip with my parents every single year.
- 7:02Speaker 1: So anyways, I just kind of change my perspective on that,
- 7:05Speaker 1: and I actually really get excited about spending time with
- 7:08Speaker 1: my family and enjoy the moments that we do have
- 7:10Speaker 1: together and the excitement around just I don't know, being
- 7:13Speaker 1: able to go on a trip with them, and honestly,
- 7:15Speaker 1: we always have the most fun memories and most funny times,
- 7:19Speaker 1: and I want to try and film a lot of
- 7:21Speaker 1: family content, not just like me and my sister, but
- 7:23Speaker 1: try and include my parents, because my parents are actually
- 7:26Speaker 1: so funny.
- 7:27Speaker 2: My dad is literally he could be a comedian. I'm
- 7:30Speaker 2: not even over exaggerating.
- 7:31Speaker 1: My mom, on the other hand, she is so funny,
- 7:34Speaker 1: but she does not always want to be on camera,
- 7:36Speaker 1: so that's why I don't always film stuff when I'm
- 7:38Speaker 1: with my parents, So I try to respect my mom's
- 7:41Speaker 1: privacy when she wants to be private. But my mom
- 7:44Speaker 1: is so freaking funny and she doesn't try to be funny.
- 7:47Speaker 1: She's just like naturally, like the queen of like drama.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I can't even explain how my mom is.
- 7:53Speaker 2: My mom is just like, I don't.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Know, she's just really funny and she just like attracts
- 7:58Speaker 1: drama all the time and it just makes me laugh.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Like she's just a really funny individual naturally. So anyways,
- 8:03Speaker 1: stay tuned for live content. I'm gonna be posting a
- 8:06Speaker 1: lot on TikTok and Instagram, and of course i'm gonna
- 8:08Speaker 1: be blogging the entire trip on YouTube. So if you
- 8:11Speaker 1: want to follow along, make sure to follow my socials.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I'll link everything in my description down below. So obviously
- 8:16Speaker 1: this week it's just been really locking in and getting
- 8:19Speaker 1: everything done. I had a few brand deals that I
- 8:21Speaker 1: had to film that I finished today, which I'm so
- 8:24Speaker 1: happy about. I had one final house meeting that was
- 8:28Speaker 1: in regards to our tile selection. Picking grout colors, guys,
- 8:32Speaker 1: is no freaking joke, and thought, oh, you need to
- 8:34Speaker 1: pick different groat colors for different types of tile, and anyways,
- 8:38Speaker 1: it was just like very overwhelming, and I think there's
- 8:40Speaker 1: so many different groat colors that you could do, and
- 8:42Speaker 1: I don't know, I feel like that's not a detail
- 8:43Speaker 1: that you think about when you're designing a house. You're
- 8:45Speaker 1: just like, Okay, like this tile looks nice with this
- 8:48Speaker 1: wall color and this cabinet color and whatever.
- 8:51Speaker 2: And then they're like, yeah, so now we.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Need to pick a groat and we got to pick
- 8:54Speaker 1: this and I'm like whoa, Like what That's where I
- 8:57Speaker 1: got really thrown off and things started to get really
- 9:00Speaker 1: stressful because I couldn't make my mind up on certain things.
- 9:03Speaker 1: So anyways, that's kind of like a random house update.
- 9:06Speaker 1: But I think we only have one more decision that
- 9:09Speaker 1: we have to make, which is our on suite shower,
- 9:12Speaker 1: and that is it.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Then we can sign off and.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Everything and I can give you guys a whole update
- 9:18Speaker 1: of what the house is going to look like. So
- 9:20Speaker 1: I can actually show you guys, like rendering images of.
- 9:23Speaker 2: How the house visually looks.
- 9:24Speaker 1: We weren't able to provide any images just yet, just
- 9:27Speaker 1: because we've had to change a few things based off
- 9:29Speaker 1: of what the builder can or cannot do. I've talked
- 9:32Speaker 1: about this a lot on my YouTube channel, just kind
- 9:34Speaker 1: of providing house updates anytime I can, So if you
- 9:38Speaker 1: want more house stuff, I definitely talk about it a
- 9:40Speaker 1: lot on YouTube, just because that's the life I'm living
- 9:42Speaker 1: right now, is really just locking in and designing this
- 9:46Speaker 1: entire house from top to bottom. But we're basically done,
- 9:50Speaker 1: like we are so close to the finish line. So
- 9:53Speaker 1: I will be doing a house walkthrough hopefully when I'm
- 9:56Speaker 1: back for my trip, and I can show you guys
- 9:58Speaker 1: kind of like sketches and rendering drawings that our designers
- 10:01Speaker 1: have done of like what each space is going to
- 10:03Speaker 1: look like. And I'm so obsessed, guys, I literally am
- 10:08Speaker 1: freaking out like all the things that we selected. I'm
- 10:10Speaker 1: just so happy. Definitely have made a lot of like
- 10:14Speaker 1: changes since I first started this design process, but in
- 10:17Speaker 1: a good way. It's been like learning opportunities where it's like, Okay,
- 10:21Speaker 1: I almost went this direction, but I'm happy we're ending
- 10:24Speaker 1: on this decision because I think this is better for
- 10:27Speaker 1: the value of the house, or the future for the house,
- 10:29Speaker 1: or the design aspect, because obviously you don't want to
- 10:32Speaker 1: be too trendy when it comes to the designs, like
- 10:35Speaker 1: you want it to be, you know, something that's very minimalistic,
- 10:38Speaker 1: but that will also be something that will still be
- 10:41Speaker 1: in style ten to fifteen years from now, right, So
- 10:43Speaker 1: just trying to really focus on going down that route
- 10:47Speaker 1: when it comes to picking stuff, because of course you
- 10:49Speaker 1: see stuff on Pinterest and you're like, oh my god,
- 10:51Speaker 1: that's beautiful, and then my designer will be like, yeah,
- 10:53Speaker 1: but you might only love that for two years, and
- 10:55Speaker 1: I'm like, ooh, good point. We need to think longevity,
- 10:58Speaker 1: We need to think minimalistic and yeah, just because like
- 11:02Speaker 1: as much as I want to say this is our
- 11:04Speaker 1: forever home, like I could it could be our forever home,
- 11:06Speaker 1: but like I do also see us maybe having one
- 11:09Speaker 1: other house in the future that's a bit more secluded,
- 11:13Speaker 1: like I would love to be in the trees in
- 11:15Speaker 1: the forest and be kind of out of the city.
- 11:17Speaker 1: This house here is still in the city, which I
- 11:20Speaker 1: like only because, like, because we're trying to have kids,
- 11:23Speaker 1: I want to be in close proximity to our families
- 11:26Speaker 1: for the support. So it might be like my kids
- 11:29Speaker 1: will live here throughout their childhood, but then the next
- 11:31Speaker 1: house it might be like the teenage years, you know
- 11:33Speaker 1: what I mean. So I can't see us staying in
- 11:36Speaker 1: this house for a very long time, like between ten
- 11:38Speaker 1: to fifteen years, but I could also see us like
- 11:41Speaker 1: staying there forever if needed. But anyways, that's kind of
- 11:44Speaker 1: like the life planned for the house. But let's talk
- 11:48Speaker 1: about the appointments I'm doing this week, because obviously, when
- 11:50Speaker 1: you're going on a trip, you want to get all
- 11:52Speaker 1: these last minute things done before you leave. So the
- 11:55Speaker 1: first thing I did was I ordered a bunch of clothes.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Obviously I'm actually only I think I only bought three
- 12:01Speaker 1: new outfits. Everything else I'm actually bringing from my trips
- 12:05Speaker 1: from previous years. I told myself that I didn't want
- 12:08Speaker 1: to purchase too many things where I feel like I'm
- 12:10Speaker 1: not gonna wear ever again. Like, I only want to
- 12:13Speaker 1: purchase things that I know I'm gonna wear for future
- 12:16Speaker 1: trips or just like I don't know, just get good
- 12:19Speaker 1: value out of it for future things. So I really
- 12:22Speaker 1: did try my best to pick outfits that weren't things
- 12:25Speaker 1: that I was just gonna, you know, sell or give
- 12:27Speaker 1: away down the road. So I decided not to buy
- 12:30Speaker 1: too much for this trip, but I did invest in
- 12:34Speaker 1: some good quality things, like one brand that I continuously
- 12:38Speaker 1: buy from, and I'm gonna tell you right now it
- 12:39Speaker 1: is a little expensive, but I am always gravitating towards
- 12:43Speaker 1: these bikinis and these outfits, and that's from Monday Swimwear.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I'm obsessed with every Monday Swimwear bathing suit that I've
- 12:50Speaker 1: ever gotten, including the resort wear. So just like beach
- 12:53Speaker 1: cover ups, they had like really good like cover up dresses,
- 12:57Speaker 1: cover up pants, over shirts. They also have like really
- 13:00Speaker 1: cute dresses that you could wear like out to dinner
- 13:04Speaker 1: for like a nighttime outfit. Like if you need anything
- 13:07Speaker 1: for a tropical vacation, Monday Swimwear has everything. It truly
- 13:10Speaker 1: is my favorite brand when it comes to resort wear.
- 13:14Speaker 1: So honestly, I just ordered from there and Revolve that's it.
- 13:19Speaker 1: And I think Revolve I only got like a cowboy hat.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Like I literally didn't get any clothes whatsoever. So anyways,
- 13:24Speaker 1: I purposely decided to just invest in a brand that
- 13:27Speaker 1: I knew I was going to like the stuff, and
- 13:29Speaker 1: all this stuff that I've gotten from them in the
- 13:31Speaker 1: past has been so great, so I just knew for
- 13:34Speaker 1: a fact that it was worth.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Paying the higher price point, knowing.
- 13:38Speaker 1: That I was going to wear it for our future
- 13:40Speaker 1: trip that we're going on this summer. We have another
- 13:42Speaker 1: trip that we're going to. We're going to a wedding
- 13:45Speaker 1: in Portugal in the summer. So anyways, I just thought,
- 13:48Speaker 1: I'm like, I'll wear this again. I love, obviously re
- 13:51Speaker 1: wearing my bikinis. I have bikinis since like high school,
- 13:54Speaker 1: and I'm still wearing some of them. So I bought
- 13:57Speaker 1: one new bikini, and I think I bought two or
- 14:00Speaker 1: three Nu dresses. So I bought one new bikini and
- 14:03Speaker 1: then three outfits for the night time vibes. So that's
- 14:07Speaker 1: what I got for the trip, and then a cowboy
- 14:10Speaker 1: hat and just like random things off Amazon that I
- 14:13Speaker 1: needed before the trip, you know, and like you think
- 14:14Speaker 1: of like the Lost Man of the things that you
- 14:16Speaker 1: need on your flight Zach got me a Kindle for Christmas.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I bored my mom's kindle when I went to Italy
- 14:24Speaker 1: with Zach this past summer, and he surprised me with
- 14:27Speaker 1: the kindle for Christmas, which I was really happy about.
- 14:29Speaker 1: So I think I'm going to download the second Housemaid
- 14:32Speaker 1: book because I love The Housemaid the first book, and
- 14:35Speaker 1: I watched the movie, and I really told you guys
- 14:37Speaker 1: that I went to see the movie obsessed, except I
- 14:40Speaker 1: thought the book was better. I thought the book was
- 14:43Speaker 1: better than the movie only because obviously we knew what
- 14:46Speaker 1: happened beforehand. But the movie was still good. But they're
- 14:49Speaker 1: coming out with a second movie.
- 14:51Speaker 2: It looks like.
- 14:52Speaker 1: They've confirmed that they're going to be doing it for
- 14:54Speaker 1: the second book. So I'm gonna actually download the second book.
- 14:57Speaker 1: But if you have any other book recommendations, comment down
- 15:01Speaker 1: below or send me a message, because I'm pretty sure
- 15:04Speaker 1: I could probably read two full books while I'm away.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Maybe three, we'll see. But I spent a lot of
- 15:11Speaker 1: time reading when we were in Mexico this time last year,
- 15:14Speaker 1: me and Zach. I just think i'll have the time
- 15:16Speaker 1: to read a lot since i'll be tanning most of
- 15:18Speaker 1: the time, and I don't really like to be scrolling
- 15:20Speaker 1: on my phone while I'm at the beach. And also,
- 15:24Speaker 1: if you guys know, like when you're in the sun,
- 15:25Speaker 1: you can't really see anything on your phone, And the
- 15:28Speaker 1: Kindle is really really good because I feel like you
- 15:31Speaker 1: can see everything when you're outside.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Two.
- 15:33Speaker 1: So yeah, let me know your book recommendations. But I'm
- 15:36Speaker 1: very excited to just be chillin by the beach reading
- 15:39Speaker 1: a book. So anyways, ordered stuff for the trip, and
- 15:42Speaker 1: then I booked a nail appointment. I think I'm going
- 15:44Speaker 1: to do an almond shaped nail. Right now, I have
- 15:47Speaker 1: my square nails. I'm going to change it back to almond,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and I'm probably just gonna do like a neutral pink,
- 15:51Speaker 1: like kind of like a bubble bath situation toes, probably
- 15:56Speaker 1: like a baby pink. I don't ever like a neutral toe.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I don't know that's weird, but I'm not like neutral
- 16:02Speaker 1: nails on my toes, Like it's got to be some
- 16:05Speaker 1: type of pop.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So I feel like I'll probably.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Do like a baby pink or something that's like close
- 16:10Speaker 1: to my nail color but not neutral, like I need
- 16:13Speaker 1: to have a solid color. That's just something that I
- 16:15Speaker 1: don't know, doesn't look good on me, and I just
- 16:17Speaker 1: feel like I need to have color on my toes.
- 16:19Speaker 1: So I booked that, and then I also booked an
- 16:22Speaker 1: eyebrow waxing because I haven't got my eyebrows done since
- 16:25Speaker 1: before Christmas, so.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I did that.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I booked a facial because I haven't had a facial
- 16:30Speaker 1: done in so long. Felt so good. I got the
- 16:33Speaker 1: facial last week and it was so needed. My skin
- 16:36Speaker 1: was so dry. She's like, you needed this hydro facial
- 16:39Speaker 1: so badly. But I just know that as soon as
- 16:41Speaker 1: I'm in Costa Rica, my skin is gonna thank me.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Like being in the sunshine. I just feel like my
- 16:45Speaker 1: skin literally heels, and then I'll be good when I'm
- 16:48Speaker 1: back from Costa Rica. And then you know, my skin
- 16:51Speaker 1: will probably suffer again from being in the winter season
- 16:55Speaker 1: and going from obviously a hot climate's a cold climate.
- 16:57Speaker 2: But that's okay.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I'm hoping to do another facial, probably at the end
- 17:00Speaker 1: of February or beginning of March. But I just feel
- 17:03Speaker 1: like facials are so important during this time of the
- 17:05Speaker 1: year because our skin is so dry.
- 17:07Speaker 2: From the colder season.
- 17:10Speaker 1: And yeah, I just feel like it's something that I
- 17:12Speaker 1: try to keep up during the winter season versus the summer.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I feel like my skin thrives during the summer because
- 17:17Speaker 1: of the sun. So that's just like what works for me.
- 17:20Speaker 1: So hopefully booking another facial in February, and that's really it.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Just packing everything obviously is a non negotiable. I need
- 17:27Speaker 1: to still pack to be honest for this trip. So
- 17:30Speaker 1: just like picking up all last minute things that I
- 17:32Speaker 1: might need from like the drug store. I'm just thinking
- 17:35Speaker 1: of like smaller toilet trees or skincare products I might need.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I did go to Sephora yesterday actually and pick up
- 17:42Speaker 1: travel size like curl cream because I plan on doing
- 17:46Speaker 1: like my natural curly routine while I'm down there, just
- 17:48Speaker 1: because whenever I try and blow out my hair in
- 17:51Speaker 1: a very hot location, it never stays straight or it
- 17:55Speaker 1: never stays curly. It just goes really frizzy. So I'm
- 17:58Speaker 1: trying to do my natural hair routine because it stays
- 18:01Speaker 1: way better with a curl cream and a wave spray
- 18:05Speaker 1: in that type of climate versus like wasting all this
- 18:07Speaker 1: time blowing out my hair and it not turning out,
- 18:09Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So definitely going to prioritize. Yeah,
- 18:13Speaker 1: probably doing less heat on my hair in Costa Rica
- 18:15Speaker 1: and just embracing the natural curls. So that's kind of
- 18:18Speaker 1: everything I'm doing before the trip. I'm so excited. I'm
- 18:22Speaker 1: really looking forward to shooting fun content too with my
- 18:25Speaker 1: sister and just kind of being in a different location.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I feel like it always inspires me when I'm traveling
- 18:30Speaker 1: to kind of like shoot video content, take photos, obviously,
- 18:34Speaker 1: also give like outfit inspo all that. It's definitely one
- 18:36Speaker 1: of my favorite types of content to provide. I feel
- 18:39Speaker 1: like I always have such a fun time when I'm
- 18:41Speaker 1: traveling and doing content. I just feel like for me personally,
- 18:45Speaker 1: like I love doing routine videos and filming that. But
- 18:48Speaker 1: obviously for me sometimes I kind of feel like I'm
- 18:52Speaker 1: in a rut when I'm filming the same thing like
- 18:54Speaker 1: what I eat in a day, my morning routine, all that.
- 18:56Speaker 1: So it's kind of nice to go to a different
- 18:58Speaker 1: location and change it up a little bit and do
- 19:01Speaker 1: things that are a bit more out of my comfort zone,
- 19:03Speaker 1: like doing fun content with my sister, outfit videos all that,
- 19:06Speaker 1: And then when I come home from my trip, I
- 19:08Speaker 1: always feel reinspired to get back into my morning routine,
- 19:12Speaker 1: get back into filming my what I eat in a
- 19:14Speaker 1: days or whatever the case may be, you know what
- 19:15Speaker 1: I mean. So it's just a nice little content break
- 19:18Speaker 1: that I look forward to and change it up a
- 19:21Speaker 1: little bit. Okay, next point that I wanted to talk
- 19:23Speaker 1: about was my back injury because I am finally seeing progress, guys.
- 19:28Speaker 1: It has been such a long injury and I don't
- 19:32Speaker 1: even know if I told you guys that this injury
- 19:34Speaker 1: happened like four months ago, three or four months ago,
- 19:37Speaker 1: So it's something that I've been dealing with for a
- 19:38Speaker 1: while and just kind of ignored. But I am on
- 19:41Speaker 1: an anti inflammatory from my doctor, which I want to
- 19:44Speaker 1: talk about my doctor's appointment, just because the last episode
- 19:46Speaker 1: we kind of ended off there and I never really
- 19:48Speaker 1: got to share.
- 19:49Speaker 2: With you guys, like an update of how the appointment went.
- 19:51Speaker 1: But my doctor did prescribe me with an anti inflammatory
- 19:54Speaker 1: and I feel like it's helping a lot with my
- 19:56Speaker 1: back and obviously keeping up with stretches, and I haven't
- 20:00Speaker 1: been working out for two weeks now. I think my
- 20:02Speaker 1: body just really needed the break and just needed to
- 20:05Speaker 1: step aside from pilates and not work out at all.
- 20:09Speaker 1: But I do think this was for the best, and
- 20:11Speaker 1: I am seeing a lot more progress than what I
- 20:14Speaker 1: did this time last week. So I'm really happy that
- 20:17Speaker 1: things are working and I'm just going to keep doing
- 20:19Speaker 1: these things so the next two weeks in hopes that
- 20:22Speaker 1: my back is fully healed and I can again slowly
- 20:26Speaker 1: get back into getting back into my workouts and getting
- 20:30Speaker 1: back into routine, and hopes that my back injury is healed.
- 20:35Speaker 1: So that's a little update on my back injury. I'm
- 20:37Speaker 1: also really trying to focus on this back injury because,
- 20:41Speaker 1: as some of you may or may not know, my
- 20:43Speaker 1: husband and I do want to start trying soon. We're
- 20:45Speaker 1: not trying currently. Some people have made it pretty clear
- 20:48Speaker 1: to me that I shouldn't be taking an approxyin, which
- 20:51Speaker 1: is what I'm taking for my back, because it kind
- 20:54Speaker 1: of like pauses ovulation. It doesn't really happen when you're
- 20:57Speaker 1: on it. But I'm not actively trying in this exact moment,
- 21:00Speaker 1: So no stress on that for anyone that brought that up.
- 21:03Speaker 1: But I'm really trying to focus on my back right now.
- 21:06Speaker 1: That's like my main priority. The one conversation I had
- 21:09Speaker 1: with my doctor was I do not want to have
- 21:11Speaker 1: this back injury and be pregnant at the exact same time,
- 21:13Speaker 1: Like that just sounds like absolute hell in my opinion,
- 21:17Speaker 1: because if you've seen a few, you know, women posting
- 21:20Speaker 1: about pregnancy a lot of the time, the last few
- 21:23Speaker 1: months are like really difficult on your back. So I'm
- 21:26Speaker 1: really just trying to strengthen my back and make that
- 21:29Speaker 1: the main priority right now and then focus on, you know,
- 21:33Speaker 1: trying to conceive later. So that's kind of been on pause.
- 21:36Speaker 1: But I'm still prepping for pregnancy in the sense where
- 21:39Speaker 1: I'm still kind of like mentally preparing myself and getting
- 21:41Speaker 1: my body in a healthy state that I want it
- 21:44Speaker 1: to be in. So let's kind of talk about pregnancy
- 21:47Speaker 1: preper a second, just because I know there was a
- 21:48Speaker 1: few people that wanted me to.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Talk about this on the podcast.
- 21:51Speaker 1: I've talked about it a lot on TikTok and kind
- 21:54Speaker 1: of just shared some things that we're doing, me and
- 21:57Speaker 1: my husband, not just me, to kind of prepare ourselves
- 22:00Speaker 1: for trying to conceive. So one of them being I
- 22:04Speaker 1: had a doctor's appointment last week, as you guys know,
- 22:06Speaker 1: and I got blood work done, So that was my
- 22:09Speaker 1: first time ever getting blood work done, which some people
- 22:12Speaker 1: were like, killie, that's crazy that you've never gotten blood
- 22:14Speaker 1: work done before.
- 22:15Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I've been healthy, I've never like needed to get blood
- 22:19Speaker 1: work done for anything, so I just never needed to
- 22:22Speaker 1: do it, so I never really went. And then I
- 22:25Speaker 1: just had this gut feeling where I was like, you
- 22:26Speaker 1: know what, I feel like my sister needs to come
- 22:28Speaker 1: with me to this appointment because I don't know. I
- 22:31Speaker 1: just felt like I felt weird going into the appointment
- 22:34Speaker 1: not having someone there, just because I was like, Eh,
- 22:36Speaker 1: I don't know, I've never gotten blood work done before.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Can you just come with me for moral support?
- 22:40Speaker 1: Like it really wasn't anything serious, but I'm like, if
- 22:43Speaker 1: you could just come, that would be great. Thank goodness.
- 22:46Speaker 1: She came because I fainted, which was not expecting to
- 22:50Speaker 1: do that in twenty twenty six.
- 22:51Speaker 2: It was wild.
- 22:52Speaker 1: I have never experienced anything like that before. I'm talking
- 22:56Speaker 1: like full on body chills on my I was sweating,
- 23:00Speaker 1: I was very loopy, very dizzy, I was very nauseous.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I thought I was gonna throw up right there and then,
- 23:05Speaker 1: and all these symptoms had me thinking like, oh, I
- 23:08Speaker 1: must be low in something like I thought for sure
- 23:10Speaker 1: my blood work results were gonna come back. When I
- 23:13Speaker 1: saw my doctor about being low iron or being low
- 23:16Speaker 1: something right, And based on the symptoms that I was
- 23:19Speaker 1: experiencing from the blood work appointment, it was really gearing
- 23:23Speaker 1: me towards the low iron thing, which I'm like, okay,
- 23:26Speaker 1: maybe I'm iron deficient, Like I had no idea, right.
- 23:29Speaker 1: My doctor comes back with the results and she's like,
- 23:31Speaker 1: all right, everything looks great. I'm like sorry, what and
- 23:36Speaker 1: she's like, yeah, like no, everything is like in a
- 23:39Speaker 1: very healthy state, like there's nothing that you're low in.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I said, are you sure I'm not low in iron?
- 23:45Speaker 1: And she's like, you're actually like higher than most women.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I was like really, Like I was just like totally shocked.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I was like, okay, well, is there any other vitamins
- 23:53Speaker 1: I need to take, because here I am thinking, okay,
- 23:56Speaker 1: I gotta buy more vitamins to get my body in
- 23:58Speaker 1: a better state before pregnancy whatever. And she's like, no,
- 24:01Speaker 1: everything's perfect. Just keep doing what you're doing. I'm like, wow, okay,
- 24:05Speaker 1: Like I was just in complete shock. I really did
- 24:07Speaker 1: not think that the results would come back as good
- 24:09Speaker 1: as it did, and I'm so grateful that it came
- 24:11Speaker 1: back because I am a hypochondract Okay, I kind of
- 24:15Speaker 1: posted it on my Instagram story last week, just kind
- 24:17Speaker 1: of reminding everybody too, you know, go to the doctor's appointments.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Don't avoid it.
- 24:21Speaker 1: And there were so many people that messaged me after
- 24:23Speaker 1: just saying thank you so much, Like I was actually
- 24:25Speaker 1: going to cancel my appointment, but then you posted this,
- 24:27Speaker 1: and it just kind of like motivated me to push
- 24:30Speaker 1: through it and know that it's worth doing those checkups,
- 24:32Speaker 1: and it really is. It is so important to just
- 24:35Speaker 1: go through those appointments. I was so nervous going into
- 24:39Speaker 1: that appointment a finding out my results about the blood work.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I also had a PAP test booked that day, so
- 24:46Speaker 1: everything like was just like I was very uncomfortable.
- 24:48Speaker 2: About the entire situation.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Like I was vibrating in the room in terms of
- 24:52Speaker 1: like I was shaking constantly because I was so nervous,
- 24:55Speaker 1: and I just didn't want to be there. Like clinics
- 24:58Speaker 1: freak me out, hospitals freak me out. Like I do
- 25:01Speaker 1: not like anything medical. I could never be a doctor
- 25:04Speaker 1: or a nurse. I just freak out when it comes
- 25:06Speaker 1: to that kind of stuff, blood, anything, you name it.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Loved watching Grey's Anatomy, don't love being in the situation
- 25:12Speaker 1: if that makes sense. Like I truly am just not
- 25:15Speaker 1: that kind of person that enjoys those things. And I'm
- 25:19Speaker 1: not saying people do enjoy those things, but I just
- 25:21Speaker 1: I don't like being in that environment. Like I don't
- 25:23Speaker 1: like it at all. It freaks me the fuck out.
- 25:25Speaker 1: So I was really scared going to that appointment. I
- 25:28Speaker 1: did not want to do it whatsoever. But I just
- 25:30Speaker 1: kept thinking to myself and like, you are going to
- 25:32Speaker 1: feel so much better mentally, and I do. Just going
- 25:36Speaker 1: through that appointment getting the results back, feeling so good
- 25:40Speaker 1: knowing that everything came back great.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I am healthy.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I got my PAP test results back, which came back
- 25:46Speaker 1: great as well. Like I'm feeling really good now mentally
- 25:49Speaker 1: going into like trying to conceive with my husband because
- 25:53Speaker 1: I know all the results I came back.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And I don't know.
- 25:56Speaker 1: I just feel like also for yourself, like even if
- 25:58Speaker 1: you aren't trying to conceive, and you just like want
- 25:59Speaker 1: to know if you're healthy or not and just kind
- 26:01Speaker 1: of get that peace of mind of knowing that you
- 26:04Speaker 1: are a healthy individual and that everything you're doing is
- 26:07Speaker 1: right and you don't need to stress about it. I
- 26:09Speaker 1: just really want to encourage you to face your fears
- 26:12Speaker 1: if you're like me, and just push through those appointments,
- 26:15Speaker 1: because I know it's not fun. Trust me, I didn't
- 26:17Speaker 1: want to do it. I didn't want to do the
- 26:18Speaker 1: blood work. I didn't want to do you know, the.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Pop test or anything like that.
- 26:21Speaker 1: But I'm so happy I did it and the results
- 26:24Speaker 1: came back so positively, and I'm so so relieved, and
- 26:28Speaker 1: I feel really really good and proud of myself for just.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Kind of getting through that.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Now, the next step for us is my husband going
- 26:33Speaker 1: to his doctor's appointment. So he has a doctor's appointment,
- 26:36Speaker 1: I think it's next week for him, and then we
- 26:39Speaker 1: both booked dentist appointments that are in February, so we
- 26:43Speaker 1: have a dental cleaning that we're doing. So that kind
- 26:45Speaker 1: of just like gets all the medical appointments over with.
- 26:48Speaker 1: We don't need to stress about it, like get it done,
- 26:51Speaker 1: get it over with, and we can kind of move
- 26:53Speaker 1: on from that. So that's kind of what we're doing
- 26:55Speaker 1: for appointment wise, to prep ourselves for TTC, and then
- 27:00Speaker 1: all the other things we're kind of doing is just
- 27:02Speaker 1: eating better. So we're really trying to follow a healthy diet,
- 27:05Speaker 1: just eating specific foods that are like really really good
- 27:08Speaker 1: for fertility. I've been reading a book which I've talked
- 27:11Speaker 1: about i think here on the podcast before. It's called
- 27:13Speaker 1: Real Food for Fertility.
- 27:15Speaker 2: I'm learning so much.
- 27:16Speaker 1: I'm almost done the book. Actually, I'm more than halfway through.
- 27:20Speaker 1: It's a large book, okay, I'm I'm like on page
- 27:23Speaker 1: three hundred and ten, I think. Anyways, it's taken me
- 27:26Speaker 1: a while to read, just because I'm not reading every
- 27:28Speaker 1: single day. I'm reading like every second day on my
- 27:30Speaker 1: treadmill for forty minutes. But we're very close to finishing
- 27:34Speaker 1: this book. But it's been very educational for someone who
- 27:37Speaker 1: knows nothing about fertility and just seeing how food plays
- 27:42Speaker 1: such a big impact and just certain foods that you
- 27:45Speaker 1: can eat that can really help you out is really beneficial.
- 27:47Speaker 1: So I don't want to tell you guys, like, oh,
- 27:49Speaker 1: you should eat this, you should eat that. Like I
- 27:51Speaker 1: am not a medical expert or a nutritionus at all,
- 27:54Speaker 1: but if you guys want to learn about.
- 27:56Speaker 2: The education around food when it.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Comes to fertility, highly recommend getting that book. It's been
- 28:03Speaker 1: very very informative and I've really really enjoyed reading it
- 28:06Speaker 1: just kind of learning about you know, women's bodies and
- 28:09Speaker 1: fertility and men's sperm and all that jazz. And then
- 28:13Speaker 1: the final thing for prepping for pregnancy is that my
- 28:15Speaker 1: husband and I have decided to cut alcohol out completely.
- 28:19Speaker 1: We are both not drinking. And I had my first
- 28:23Speaker 1: outing last weekend or this past weekend. Sorry, it was
- 28:27Speaker 1: my girlfriend's thirtieth and I.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Did not drink.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I was sober the entire time, and guys, I still
- 28:33Speaker 1: had fun. I still had a good time. You don't
- 28:35Speaker 1: need to have an alcoholic beverage to have a good time.
- 28:38Speaker 1: So I had a mocktail too, mocktails actually, and then
- 28:41Speaker 1: some water and had a really fun time. And it
- 28:44Speaker 1: was funny because my girlfriend was also not drinking as well,
- 28:48Speaker 1: so it was kind of fun that we could just
- 28:49Speaker 1: like drink mocktails together and people didn't care. No one
- 28:52Speaker 1: judged us. If anything, everyone was like super supportive. And
- 28:55Speaker 1: you know, it's good to have friends like that, because
- 28:58Speaker 1: if you have friends that are like making fun of
- 28:59Speaker 1: you for not drinking, like why are they your friends?
- 29:02Speaker 1: Like that's not a true friend. A true friend would
- 29:04Speaker 1: be there to support you and your own decision. Again,
- 29:07Speaker 1: this is something that's pretty extreme, like not everybody does
- 29:10Speaker 1: this before prepping for pregnancy. This is not something you
- 29:12Speaker 1: have to do, and everything that I'm saying you do
- 29:14Speaker 1: not have to do if you're someone like me who's
- 29:16Speaker 1: prepping for pregnancy. But these are just things that I'm
- 29:19Speaker 1: doing that I want to do for my future self
- 29:22Speaker 1: and for my future baby. And this is just something
- 29:24Speaker 1: that I wanted to do for myself and my husband
- 29:27Speaker 1: wanted to do. So we're very much treating this as
- 29:30Speaker 1: a team thing where it's like, in order for this
- 29:33Speaker 1: baby to happen, it's a two man straight, you know
- 29:35Speaker 1: what I mean, Like both of us have to do
- 29:37Speaker 1: our part and you know, do what we can for
- 29:40Speaker 1: our future child. So yeah, that's kind of what we're
- 29:45Speaker 1: doing right now. And I kind of just wanted to
- 29:46Speaker 1: give an update here on the podcast about that, just
- 29:48Speaker 1: because I know there's some girls who are in a
- 29:50Speaker 1: similar situation like me, or you know, you guys might
- 29:53Speaker 1: not be, but I just thought it would be informative
- 29:55Speaker 1: to kind of just share things that I'm doing and
- 29:57Speaker 1: my husband is doing to prepare ourselves for this next journey.
- 30:01Speaker 1: But that's kind of all the updates that I wanted
- 30:03Speaker 1: to share with you guys. I don't really have much
- 30:05Speaker 1: else happening right now. I think those are probably the
- 30:07Speaker 1: three things or four things.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 30:09Speaker 1: I kind of chatted about like my trip to Costa Rica,
