- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm Chris Hansen right now on Crime Watching Daily from
- 0:02Speaker 1: here in New York City. The perfect California Cup happy,
- 0:14Speaker 1: Yes can be on the outside.
- 0:16Speaker 2: She wanted to keep this image of a perfect family.
- 0:19Speaker 1: But behind closed doors.
- 0:21Speaker 3: There was definitely a lot of partying, a lot of sex.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And then I got.
- 0:26Speaker 4: To call it.
- 0:26Speaker 5: There's been a terrible accident.
- 0:28Speaker 1: This was no accident. His father of two was targeted
- 0:32Speaker 1: for murder.
- 0:33Speaker 6: I was shocked. I was shocked.
- 0:35Speaker 1: The handsome firefighter, the shadowy figure caught on surveillance video,
- 0:39Speaker 1: and a deadly loved triangle exposed.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I've never seen a case where there's more reasonable doubt
- 0:49Speaker 2: than this.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Long Plus the guy in this car thinks she's meeting
- 0:54Speaker 1: up with a fourteen year old, but he's wraw inside.
- 0:59Speaker 1: The all new sheriff sting taking aim at alleged predators
- 1:02Speaker 1: praying on underage children. I'm Christians right now.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Let's go Jason Motower with Prime Watch Daily.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I'm miss also going up from Crimewatch Dailey.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Yes, let's be smart from Crimewatch Daily.
- 1:16Speaker 6: It's Ana Garcia.
- 1:17Speaker 7: From Crime Watch Daily.
- 1:18Speaker 8: You got anything to.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Say, Crime Watch Dally.
- 1:21Speaker 4: What do you mean you don't know if she's thirteen.
- 1:23Speaker 1: You're running away now. Welcome to Crime Watch Daily, everyone,
- 1:28Speaker 1: I'm Chris Hansen, first up today. They were the picture
- 1:31Speaker 1: of an all American family, the loving husband, the doting wife,
- 1:35Speaker 1: raising two kids in a charming southern California town. But
- 1:39Speaker 1: when you looked closer, things weren't what they appeared. Our
- 1:42Speaker 1: Patla Lama has the story filled with love, jealousy, swingers,
- 1:46Speaker 1: and a fatal gunshot.
- 1:49Speaker 4: They were, as the saying goos, meant.
- 1:52Speaker 2: To be, really just in love with each other, in
- 1:55Speaker 2: love with their kids, and seemed like a stable, normal family.
- 2:00Speaker 4: But peel back the layers of Robert and Sabrina Lamone's
- 2:04Speaker 4: perceived stable normal facade and you'll find deep cracks in
- 2:09Speaker 4: the marital armor. Starting with some risky sex on the
- 2:13Speaker 4: side with neighbors.
- 2:15Speaker 9: It was usually Sabrina and I, and then we would
- 2:18Speaker 9: go have sex with our husbands in the same room.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Add a young, impassioned evangelical firefighter to fan the flames.
- 2:27Speaker 3: He was a bit sheltered, and you just.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Might get the sense that this is not going to
- 2:35Speaker 4: end well.
- 2:36Speaker 7: Car accident and fire were two of things that were discussed,
- 2:39Speaker 7: but they ultimately decided on poison.
- 2:42Speaker 10: This is the coldest, most calculating killer I've dealt with
- 2:46Speaker 10: in my entire career, and I've done a lot of them.
- 2:49Speaker 11: I seeah, that looks really really good.
- 2:53Speaker 4: It sounds like a dating site cliche, but everyone in
- 2:56Speaker 4: the Mojave Desert town of Helendale, California, admired and envied
- 3:01Speaker 4: the Lamone's seemingly special bond.
- 3:04Speaker 10: They were best friends, they were partners.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Robert was the spark that got the party started.
- 3:11Speaker 5: Robert's very outgoing, very friendly.
- 3:14Speaker 4: A spirited, outdoor people person who worked as a first
- 3:18Speaker 4: responder for the railroad, led the water. Sabrina, a vivacious
- 3:24Speaker 4: blonde who could disarm with her charm.
- 3:27Speaker 7: Everywhere we go.
- 3:28Speaker 12: She she puts a smile on everyone's face Lydia.
- 3:31Speaker 4: When Robert first brought Sabrina into the family, how did
- 3:34Speaker 4: everybody feel about her?
- 3:35Speaker 5: She seemed to have a lot of eleven compassions. She was
- 3:39Speaker 5: very friendly.
- 3:42Speaker 4: One vow exchange and two children later, the Lamone family
- 3:46Speaker 4: appeared solid and intact, But in time, Robert and Sabrina's
- 3:51Speaker 4: lifestyle began to exceed the boundaries of traditional marriage.
- 3:55Speaker 12: They decided to open up the relationship, and at that
- 3:58Speaker 12: point she went along with it to make him happy.
- 4:01Speaker 4: She was a caretaker, that's for sure. Sabrina's family told
- 4:05Speaker 4: Crime Watch Daily the swinger lifestyle took its toll on Sabrina.
- 4:09Speaker 12: She did not want to have an open relationship anymore
- 4:12Speaker 12: and he wanted to, and it was about on their marriage.
- 4:17Speaker 4: The free loving crowd included Sabrina's best friend Kelly Bernatine
- 4:21Speaker 4: and her husband Jason, but there were some suspicions that
- 4:25Speaker 4: Kelly and Robert were allegedly having a private one on
- 4:29Speaker 4: one affair behind the scenes.
- 4:32Speaker 10: He'd come home and actually start telling Sabrina what Kelly
- 4:36Speaker 10: had just done that was so awesome sexually, and she go,
- 4:40Speaker 10: I don't want to hear this.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Sabrina, her family tells me, was feeling tormented, lonely, and desperate.
- 4:48Speaker 10: He wasn't there for her in the emotional way that
- 4:50Speaker 10: she needed.
- 4:52Speaker 4: With the kids in school, Sabrina got a part time
- 4:55Speaker 4: job at the local costco. At least it was a
- 4:58Speaker 4: distraction and she could earn a little money on her own.
- 5:02Speaker 4: One day, a fresh faced twenty two year old firefighter
- 5:05Speaker 4: named Jonathan Hearn walked into the store while Sabrina was
- 5:09Speaker 4: on the job, there were sparks, and even though their
- 5:13Speaker 4: lives were worlds apart, the attraction could not be denied.
- 5:18Speaker 3: She was eleven years older than him. He was a
- 5:22Speaker 3: bit sheltered. He was homeschooled but very educated, grew up
- 5:27Speaker 3: in a religious home, had a good family.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Jonathan was intrigued.
- 5:33Speaker 3: She lived that other lifestyle that he was never exposed.
- 5:37Speaker 4: To, but Sabrina needed an emotional connection. Jonathan turned out
- 5:43Speaker 4: to be just that guy. Sabrina lured him in with
- 5:46Speaker 4: sexy snapshots in lingerie and love notes, this one reading
- 5:51Speaker 4: you are so special to me and I'm truly grateful
- 5:54Speaker 4: to have found you, signed by Sabrina with hearts.
- 5:58Speaker 12: She was getting attention from somebody who told her, you know,
- 6:00Speaker 12: you'd be the only person in my life. You know
- 6:02Speaker 12: I'd only want you. I would never do those things
- 6:05Speaker 12: to you, and you know it makes someone feel good
- 6:07Speaker 12: after not getting attention for how you know, many years.
- 6:10Speaker 4: And Jonathan appeared head over heels in this phone message
- 6:14Speaker 4: to Sabrina, I want you.
- 6:16Speaker 7: So much when you have changed my life and changed.
- 6:19Speaker 4: My Sabrina wanted no one to know of the affair.
- 6:24Speaker 4: She was admired in the community as a good wife
- 6:27Speaker 4: and devoted mother.
- 6:28Speaker 2: She wanted to keep this image of a perfect family
- 6:32Speaker 2: coming up.
- 6:33Speaker 4: The love triangle is broken for good.
- 6:36Speaker 5: It was ten thirty at night and I got the
- 6:39Speaker 5: call from Sabrina's sister saying that there'd been a terrible
- 6:42Speaker 5: accident at the railroad and my brother was gone.
- 6:45Speaker 4: But this is no accident. Robert Lamone is ambushed, gunned
- 6:49Speaker 4: down in cold blood. Could this shadowy image be the
- 6:53Speaker 4: phantom killer?
- 6:58Speaker 1: We return now with more of today's story, The Imperfect
- 7:02Speaker 1: Couple once again, here's Pat Lallana.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Robert Lamone is ambushed, gunned down in the dark of
- 7:09Speaker 4: night at the remote railroad facility where he was working
- 7:12Speaker 4: the graveyard shift. Robert was there all alone and now
- 7:16Speaker 4: lays dying in Tahatchapee, California, about eighty five miles from
- 7:21Speaker 4: his home in Helendale. Shot twice, it was a shoot
- 7:25Speaker 4: to kill attack.
- 7:27Speaker 3: He was struck in the face and traveled through and
- 7:31Speaker 3: exited the neck. The other one was a shot in
- 7:34Speaker 3: the chest. It went up into the jaw area and
- 7:37Speaker 3: lodge the brain.
- 7:40Speaker 4: A grief stricken Sabrina posted a loving tribute to her
- 7:43Speaker 4: husband while struggling to stay strong for their two young children.
- 7:48Speaker 12: No one wants to see their children in that much pain.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Given Robert's unconventional lifestyle, it's hard to tell just who
- 7:56Speaker 4: had it out for him, A jealous husband, a jilted.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Law I don't know where we're going next. We were
- 8:02Speaker 3: still looking for leads.
- 8:04Speaker 4: There was no relevant forensic evidence of the crime scene.
- 8:08Speaker 4: All current county detectives had was this surveillance tape of
- 8:12Speaker 4: a shadowy figure roaming the crime scene.
- 8:15Speaker 3: The subject was wearing some heavy clothing and also walked
- 8:18Speaker 3: with the limp.
- 8:19Speaker 4: And footage of someone with a similar build on a
- 8:22Speaker 4: motorcycle at a nearby gas station and convenience store right
- 8:26Speaker 4: around the time of the murder. Crime scene photo show
- 8:29Speaker 4: Robert's office looked as if it had been ransacked. Was
- 8:33Speaker 4: this a random attack?
- 8:35Speaker 5: They thought maybe it was a robbery or something to
- 8:39Speaker 5: that effect. So there's a lot of stories going on.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Sheriffs offered a one hundred thousand dollars reward. Even that
- 8:47Speaker 4: wasn't tempting enough for anyone with good intel to come forward.
- 8:50Speaker 6: And they all pretty much led us to a dead in.
- 8:54Speaker 5: This is a picture taken last night before remember there
- 8:57Speaker 5: was murdered.
- 8:58Speaker 4: The unknown is almost as painful as the grief for
- 9:02Speaker 4: loved ones.
- 9:03Speaker 5: It left a lot of awkward questions, and nobody seemed
- 9:08Speaker 5: to answer or give us the answers to those questions
- 9:12Speaker 5: so that we could yield.
- 9:15Speaker 4: A few weeks later, Detective Robert Meyer gets an interesting
- 9:18Speaker 4: call from Jason Bernatine. Remember Jason and his wife Kelly
- 9:23Speaker 4: were best friends with the Lamones, friends with benefits.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Jason wanted to you provide me with a couple of
- 9:32Speaker 3: text messages that he received from a subject by the
- 9:35Speaker 3: name of Jonathan Hearn.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Yes, the saying Jonathan Hearn involved in an affair with
- 9:40Speaker 4: Sabrina Lamone. But why on earth would the young fireman
- 9:45Speaker 4: be texting his married lover's best friends.
- 9:48Speaker 3: He basically was wanting to ask for forgiveness for how
- 9:52Speaker 3: shameful he had been.
- 9:54Speaker 4: No, it's not a murder confession. Jonathan was actually texting
- 9:59Speaker 4: a either curious apology for having an affair with Sabrina.
- 10:04Speaker 4: But why.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I obviously thought it was very strange that he'd be
- 10:07Speaker 3: apologizing for that, but I had some work to do,
- 10:10Speaker 3: so I started looking into Jonathan Herne.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Detective Meyer's next move a visit not with Jonathan, but
- 10:17Speaker 4: with the adulteress herself Sabrina Lamone.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I asked her if there were any issues in the marriage,
- 10:23Speaker 3: such as infidelity or a boyfriend or girlfriend, anything like that,
- 10:26Speaker 3: and she denied that, and she said there was.
- 10:28Speaker 6: Great Her and Rob had a great marriage.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Nothing like a bold faced lie to energize the lagging
- 10:34Speaker 4: criminal investigation. But the ever image conscious Sabrina may have
- 10:40Speaker 4: been deceptive for a reason that doesn't involve killing her husband.
- 10:44Speaker 2: And I don't think she wanted to paint Rob in
- 10:46Speaker 2: a negative light or herself in a native light for
- 10:48Speaker 2: the children in this terrible time. She didn't want her
- 10:51Speaker 2: kids to know about the open relationship and how they
- 10:55Speaker 2: were both having affairs.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Detective Meyer keeps digging for clue and hits on some.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Gold Sabrini had purchased what is commonly referred to as
- 11:05Speaker 3: a Bernard phone.
- 11:06Speaker 6: They started communicating with that.
- 11:08Speaker 4: In fact, in the five months leading up to Robert's death,
- 11:11Speaker 4: the illicit lovers exchanged seven thousand voice calls and text
- 11:16Speaker 4: messages on their throwaway phones.
- 11:19Speaker 6: That was very suspicious.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Adding to the suspicion, Sabrina suddenly goes underground, cutting off
- 11:26Speaker 4: Robert's entire family, even refusing to let them see the children,
- 11:30Speaker 4: and for no apparent reason, it broke the heart of
- 11:33Speaker 4: Robert's sister, Lydia, But it also raised suspicion.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Why are you hiding, Sabrina? You know, if you didn't
- 11:41Speaker 5: do anything wrong, why are you not communicating or talking
- 11:44Speaker 5: to us.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Sabrina may have signed stepped her family, but she can't
- 11:48Speaker 4: beat the badge. Cops are listening to calls between Sabrina
- 11:52Speaker 4: and her young lover. A judge approved twenty four hour
- 12:03Speaker 4: surveillance and telephone wire tabs of conversations with Jonathan. The
- 12:07Speaker 4: subject matter Jonathan's paranoia.
- 12:13Speaker 6: Definitely definitely.
- 12:19Speaker 8: Keep an eye on you.
- 12:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:23Speaker 6: They both looked like typical cops, trying to pretend not to.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Be job and stunningly a prayer for salvation, not the
- 12:31Speaker 4: kind in the afterlife, but the one in the courtroom.
- 12:35Speaker 4: The couple prayed that God would steer the criminal investigation
- 12:43Speaker 4: away from them as suspects. While the calls don't reveal
- 12:51Speaker 4: any direct evidence, one might detect a certain consciousness of
- 12:55Speaker 4: guilt in their conversations.
- 13:01Speaker 7: You really want me to be with.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Him, but cops needed more, and it so happens they've
- 13:06Speaker 4: been able to gather the incriminating goods. When they search
- 13:10Speaker 4: Jonathan's house, they find a motorcycle, helmet, and gloves like
- 13:14Speaker 4: the one spotted in that surveillance video close to the
- 13:17Speaker 4: crime scene the night Robert was killed.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Based on Jonathan Hernet owning a motorcycle that was similar
- 13:23Speaker 3: to the motorcycle that was around the scene around the
- 13:26Speaker 3: time of the murder, based on his relationship with Sabrina Lamone,
- 13:31Speaker 3: also him owning firearms that were similar to the caliber
- 13:35Speaker 3: that killed Robert Lamone.
- 13:37Speaker 4: And there's more. Sabrina stood to gain a sweet payout
- 13:40Speaker 4: from Robert's railroad pension. Cops are convinced Sabrina and Jonathan
- 13:46Speaker 4: had the means, motive, and opportunity to get Robert out
- 13:50Speaker 4: of the picture. Three months after the cold blooded murder
- 13:53Speaker 4: of Robert Lamone, current County homicide detectives are convinced they've
- 13:57Speaker 4: got enough evidence to make cases against Jonathan Hearn and
- 14:01Speaker 4: Sabrina Lamone. Hearn is arrested at his firehouse where he's
- 14:05Speaker 4: on duty, and Sabrina Lamone is on her way to
- 14:08Speaker 4: her children's school where she's scheduled for a parent teacher conference.
- 14:12Speaker 12: The whole thing's ridiculous if you know Sabrina at all.
- 14:15Speaker 12: I mean, she's I love her to death. She's amazing,
- 14:18Speaker 12: She's got the biggest heart, But she's no mastermind.
- 14:21Speaker 10: She said, why would I, you know, want him dead?
- 14:24Speaker 10: Or why would I want to have the best of
- 14:25Speaker 10: both worlds.
- 14:26Speaker 7: We are confident that the two people we arrested yesterday
- 14:30Speaker 7: are responsible for his murder?
- 14:33Speaker 4: Or are they? When prosecutors looked at the case, they
- 14:38Speaker 4: thought they had the goods on Jonathan, but not enough
- 14:41Speaker 4: to convict Sabrina. It was a blow to homicide detectives
- 14:45Speaker 4: who were forced to send Sabrina home to the comfort
- 14:48Speaker 4: of her children and family.
- 14:49Speaker 13: Sabrina Lamone has not been charged.
- 14:53Speaker 6: She is a citizen.
- 14:54Speaker 4: She's free to do what she wants when she wants.
- 14:57Speaker 4: Coming up talking into the lover's turn on each other
- 15:02Speaker 4: in a he said.
- 15:03Speaker 13: Divorce was not something very appealing to her as an option.
- 15:07Speaker 14: She said, I never wanted to believe that Jonathan was
- 15:12Speaker 14: the one that did this.
- 15:13Speaker 4: In a knockdown, drag out court room battle.
- 15:16Speaker 12: I believe she told Jonathan to shoot room.
- 15:18Speaker 4: And the verdict is in with the Jerry find the defendant.
- 15:21Speaker 13: Sabrina Lemonna.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Robert Lemhone has been executed by his wife's secret boyfriend,
- 15:28Speaker 1: a local firefighter, but police believed the murder plot was
- 15:31Speaker 1: not just his idea. They also believed Lemon's wife was
- 15:35Speaker 1: in on it, but they needed more evidence to prove it.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Patlo Lama has the conclusion of today's story.
- 15:40Speaker 4: The imperfect couple cougar and her god bearing young firefighter
- 15:46Speaker 4: bonded in love, partnered in crime, or so thought the
- 15:51Speaker 4: current County Sheriff's Department detectives were forced to kick Sabrina loose,
- 15:56Speaker 4: but put the screws to her forbidden lover, Jonathan.
- 15:58Speaker 3: We've spoke on several different occasions for several hours.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Jonathan hern fully expected to spend his last dying days
- 16:06Speaker 4: behind bars, and he knew there was only one thing
- 16:09Speaker 4: he could do to change that. He had to turn
- 16:12Speaker 4: on his beloved Sabrina Lamone. And for Jonathan, nothing says
- 16:17Speaker 4: I love you like throwing your girlfriend under the bus.
- 16:20Speaker 3: He provided the details of their planning and preparing, He
- 16:25Speaker 3: allowed us access to his cell phone.
- 16:27Speaker 4: And then a move that would afford the young evangelical
- 16:30Speaker 4: some mercy.
- 16:31Speaker 13: I offered him my broken hearted and genuine apology.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Jonathan struck a plea deal.
- 16:37Speaker 7: What he pled for is twenty five years and four
- 16:40Speaker 7: months in prison in exchange for that testimony against Sabrina.
- 16:44Speaker 6: I was shocked.
- 16:45Speaker 8: I was shocked.
- 16:46Speaker 12: They were intent on making sure that she took the
- 16:49Speaker 12: link for this, he is calculating.
- 16:51Speaker 6: He's not naive.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Interrogating Sabrina was like trying to crack ice with a feather.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Unbelievable.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Seriously talking to it.
- 17:10Speaker 13: Probably sad because of you, no mistakes about that.
- 17:14Speaker 1: That is something that you were going to have.
- 17:15Speaker 15: To live with for the rest of your life, if
- 17:19Speaker 15: you don't need to get you to jail.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Three years after the fatal shooting of her husband, Sabrina's
- 17:30Speaker 4: case goes before a mostly female jury warrior the star
- 17:35Speaker 4: witness you have understand, and once the flood gates opened
- 17:40Speaker 4: and astonishing, calculating, cold blooded made for TV plot would emerge.
- 17:46Speaker 13: He asked me how how I thought would be best,
- 17:49Speaker 13: and we discussed car accident and fire and quickly skipped
- 17:55Speaker 13: over those and arrived at poisoning.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Their choice of poison pudding laced with arsenic. Crime scene
- 18:02Speaker 4: photo showed bottles of arsenic found in Jonathan's trash.
- 18:05Speaker 13: I experimented with that on a neighbor dog who had
- 18:09Speaker 13: caused me considerable issues in the past, and put it
- 18:13Speaker 13: on some meat.
- 18:15Speaker 4: The dog never bothered Jonathan again. Sabrina then put some
- 18:20Speaker 4: of the tainted pudding in Robert's lunch and sent them
- 18:22Speaker 4: off to work, but the lover's chickened out at the
- 18:25Speaker 4: last minute.
- 18:26Speaker 13: She called Robert she had told him to not eat
- 18:29Speaker 13: the pudding because I think she said that she told
- 18:33Speaker 13: him the bananas had gone bad in it.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Sabrina still insisted Robert dye on the job at the
- 18:39Speaker 4: railroad because the medical care in the area was substandard.
- 18:44Speaker 4: But perhaps there was something else.
- 18:46Speaker 3: If Robert Lamon was killed in the line of duty,
- 18:49Speaker 3: that she would be also getting money from being an asset.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Not to mention the three hundred thousand dollars life insurance payout,
- 18:58Speaker 4: Sabrina stood.
- 19:00Speaker 16: Searched for how long for a life insurance policy to
- 19:03Speaker 16: pay off?
- 19:04Speaker 1: Is that correct?
- 19:04Speaker 13: It appears to be yes, the.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Question that comes up in every spousal murder. Wouldn't divorce
- 19:11Speaker 4: be so much more simple?
- 19:13Speaker 13: The divorce was not something very appealing to her as
- 19:16Speaker 13: an option. She expressed that he would honestly rather be
- 19:20Speaker 13: than divorced, losing her would essentially kill him. I had
- 19:24Speaker 13: a frank disgust for him that was developing and contributing
- 19:30Speaker 13: to me being very dismissive of his life.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Ultimately, Jonathan proved his disdain for Robert the night he
- 19:38Speaker 4: disguised himself God on his motorcycle, drove eighty five miles,
- 19:42Speaker 4: then ambushed an unwitting Robert Lamone.
- 19:45Speaker 13: After he fired the first shot.
- 19:46Speaker 1: What happened to Robert?
- 19:47Speaker 13: He felt seemingly mortally wounded, then headed up into the
- 19:53Speaker 13: office to follow through with the previously discussed plan of
- 19:58Speaker 13: overturning the interior of the office and making it look
- 20:02Speaker 13: like a robbery. I really didn't want to leave him
- 20:05Speaker 13: if he wasn't entirely dead, so I went back around
- 20:09Speaker 13: the backside of the truck and quickly fired one more
- 20:17Speaker 13: shot at him.
- 20:18Speaker 4: The public servant turned public enemy had killed a man,
- 20:22Speaker 4: and in a call to Sabrina after the fact, appears
- 20:25Speaker 4: convinced he was guided by a higher power.
- 20:29Speaker 15: He's working.
- 20:32Speaker 1: All the way to work.
- 20:41Speaker 4: When it came time for Sabrina to take the stand, well,
- 20:44Speaker 4: I was.
- 20:46Speaker 14: Protecting my image.
- 20:50Speaker 4: She tried to explain why she lied to cops.
- 20:53Speaker 14: They didn't want to put my affair into a murder investigation.
- 21:00Speaker 14: I never wanted to believe that Jonathan was the one
- 21:04Speaker 14: that did this.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Prosecutors reminded Sabrina of a certain significant prayer she and
- 21:09Speaker 4: Jonathan shared after Robert's murder.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed.
- 21:14Speaker 13: O God, you who are my God, my savior?
- 21:17Speaker 1: When you read that verse? What did you think?
- 21:19Speaker 14: What my memory recalls. I remember Jonathan reading that Psalm's
- 21:25Speaker 14: fifty one to me, and I don't think I was
- 21:31Speaker 14: following along.
- 21:33Speaker 6: I was distracted.
- 21:37Speaker 4: And when cops asked Sabrina if she knew of a
- 21:39Speaker 4: man with a motorcycle, possibly named John, she gave them
- 21:43Speaker 4: the names of two other Johns who were acquaintances of
- 21:46Speaker 4: her husband.
- 21:47Speaker 10: Sabrina suffers from add She's not been on medication for it.
- 21:52Speaker 10: She's not extremely articulate. In fact, she has difficulty in
- 21:55Speaker 10: communicating her thoughts. She's a high school dropout.
- 22:00Speaker 4: Why let her testify because, in sister Attorney, she's innocent.
- 22:04Speaker 10: Considering that Jonathan hern is a psychopathic killer, I would
- 22:08Speaker 10: tend to believe Sabrina more than him.
- 22:10Speaker 4: But it only got worse for Sabrina's image when her
- 22:13Speaker 4: formerly best friend Kelly Bernatine, the friend with benefits, took
- 22:18Speaker 4: the stand.
- 22:18Speaker 13: Are these wild sex orgies that you're going to the
- 22:21Speaker 13: river to have?
- 22:22Speaker 8: No?
- 22:22Speaker 9: It was usually Sabrina and I, and then we would
- 22:25Speaker 9: go have sex with our husbands in the same room,
- 22:28Speaker 9: but not together.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Kelly denied having a private affair with Rob, but blamed
- 22:34Speaker 4: his murder on Sabrina.
- 22:36Speaker 1: But she killed Rob. She didn't kill anyone, did she?
- 22:41Speaker 3: I believe she did.
- 22:42Speaker 10: You believe she actually went and shot Rob?
- 22:44Speaker 5: No?
- 22:44Speaker 9: I believe she told Jonathan to shoot Rob.
- 22:47Speaker 4: If Sabrina is convicted, she'll get more prison time than
- 22:50Speaker 4: the man who pulled the trigger. Twenty five to life.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Whatever the jury decides, everyone present is to sit quietly
- 22:57Speaker 2: and calmly.
- 22:59Speaker 4: It's judgment day in Kerrn County.
- 23:01Speaker 12: We the jerry find the defendant Sabrina Lemont, guilty of
- 23:04Speaker 12: a felony to wit murder of Robert Lemont as murder
- 23:08Speaker 12: in the first degree.
- 23:08Speaker 3: The crime was done with premeditation and deliberation.
- 23:11Speaker 4: There was no mercy for Sabrina lamone as.
- 23:14Speaker 14: To count one murder in the first degree.
- 23:17Speaker 8: The term by prescribed by laws twenty five years to life.
- 23:22Speaker 9: There's your management department impressions were adjourned.
- 23:25Speaker 2: The court is supposed to find somebody guilty beyond a
- 23:28Speaker 2: reasonable doubt, and I've never seen a case in where
- 23:31Speaker 2: there's more reasonable doubt than this one.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Do you get any sense that she has any remorse
- 23:37Speaker 4: for what transpired?
- 23:39Speaker 14: Not?
- 23:39Speaker 3: At this time?
- 23:40Speaker 4: Do you forgive him?
- 23:41Speaker 15: Not?
- 23:41Speaker 5: At this time I can't yet.
- 23:43Speaker 4: A husband and father dead and gone, a wife and
- 23:47Speaker 4: mother facing life in prison, a religious firefighter who sold
- 23:51Speaker 4: his soul to the devil, and all for what.
- 23:55Speaker 5: You don't invite evil into your home like Sabrina and
- 24:00Speaker 5: Jonathan by bringing him in this relationship to destroy that family.
- 24:06Speaker 1: At Sabrina's sentencing, the Lemons children both wrote letters to
- 24:10Speaker 1: the judge urging their mother be released with just probation,
- 24:13Speaker 1: her teenage son saying, in part, my mom is one
- 24:16Speaker 1: of the best people I know. She's loving and loves God.
- 24:19Speaker 1: She loved my dad, and we do everything together. I
- 24:22Speaker 1: need my mom and my life. I would do anything
- 24:24Speaker 1: to get her home. For now, the two will continue
- 24:27Speaker 1: living with Sabrina's sister up next to die in this car.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Thinks he's meeting up with a fourteen year old, but
- 24:35Speaker 1: instead he's been talking to this sheriff's deputy.
- 24:38Speaker 6: He likes me to call him daddy, And so.
- 24:41Speaker 1: All new video as we take you inside the undercover
- 24:45Speaker 1: sting from what they found in his trunk to his
- 24:48Speaker 1: answer to this.
- 24:49Speaker 8: What do you think would have happened tonight?
- 24:52Speaker 1: That's next. It's a sad reality I know all too well.
- 24:58Speaker 1: There are hundreds of men in whi and searching the web,
- 25:01Speaker 1: not looking for the latest news, but rather looking for
- 25:04Speaker 1: a young child that they can pray upon. Well, today,
- 25:06Speaker 1: a Georgia sheriff's department is doing something about it, and
- 25:09Speaker 1: our cameras are there to capture it. It's late in
- 25:14Speaker 1: the afternoon in Georgia and clouds are floating over Granny's house.
- 25:18Speaker 1: In the yard, a young girl's clothes are hanging out
- 25:21Speaker 1: to dry, and after the sun sets, a thirty nine
- 25:25Speaker 1: year old man in a luxury car pulls into the driveway.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Sheriff's deputies say he's about to meet his date, but
- 25:32Speaker 1: it's not Granny. It's someone who he apparently thinks is
- 25:38Speaker 1: a fourteen year old girl. Jasper County, Georgia's Sheriff Donnie Pope,
- 25:53Speaker 1: allowed Crime March Daily to go along as he cracks
- 25:56Speaker 1: down on alleged sex predators in his jurisdiction. Night, one
- 26:00Speaker 1: sick text after another comes from men looking to hook
- 26:04Speaker 1: up with a fourteen year old girl. A slow caravan
- 26:07Speaker 1: of cars creeps through the Georgia Woods.
- 26:10Speaker 8: Sheriff, why is this such a priority for your department.
- 26:13Speaker 3: There are a lot of people who just simply do
- 26:15Speaker 3: not realize.
- 26:17Speaker 8: What is on the internet.
- 26:19Speaker 1: If you have a predator issue here in Jasper County, Georgia,
- 26:23Speaker 1: what's going on in the rest of the world.
- 26:24Speaker 8: I think it's exponential.
- 26:26Speaker 16: The sheer numbers of people who are willing to participate
- 26:30Speaker 16: in the activity with children is what is astonishing.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Over the years, I've seen more than three hundred suspected
- 26:38Speaker 1: predators arrested by law enforcement, but I've never seen an
- 26:41Speaker 1: operation quite like this. The sheriff planted out, almost like
- 26:45Speaker 1: a Hollywood move. They set up multiple cameras throughout the
- 26:51Speaker 1: abandoned house, in the doorbell, in the flower pots, on
- 26:56Speaker 1: the front porch, and even in the brain gutters disguise
- 27:00Speaker 1: with fallen branches. Deputies then spread out a spike strip
- 27:04Speaker 1: on the long dirt driveway, carefully covering it with dead leaves.
- 27:10Speaker 15: Captain, you had to dress this yard to make it
- 27:13Speaker 15: look like a realistic scenario.
- 27:14Speaker 16: When we got here, the house had been occupied for
- 27:17Speaker 16: just about two thousand and five. We took one of
- 27:19Speaker 16: our trucks that we had at the Sheriff's office, got
- 27:22Speaker 16: it dirty, made it look as if it was abandoned.
- 27:25Speaker 16: We built a clothesline, but then it looked too fresh,
- 27:27Speaker 16: so we actually stained in the wood to make it
- 27:30Speaker 16: look older.
- 27:31Speaker 1: They even put special touches on the front porch to
- 27:34Speaker 1: make it look all down home to the porch. Here
- 27:38Speaker 1: you've set out, so it looks like the grambler really lopsick,
- 27:42Speaker 1: absolutely putting the fighting sal to the chairs, even the ashtray.
- 27:46Speaker 8: With lips, so you have lipstick on the cegarette bus.
- 27:50Speaker 16: Lipstick on the cigarette. But it's just to make it
- 27:51Speaker 16: look realistic.
- 27:53Speaker 1: On the edge of the woods, as swat team, deputies
- 27:56Speaker 1: sets up a hunting blne pine branches camouflage him can
- 28:00Speaker 1: secretly watch in case the alleged purpse try to make
- 28:03Speaker 1: a run for it. What happens if the guy holds
- 28:05Speaker 1: into the woods.
- 28:06Speaker 16: One of the deputies had the brilliant idea to install
- 28:09Speaker 16: a game call down a game call game call, which
- 28:13Speaker 16: is what it is a remote activated soundbox that puts
- 28:18Speaker 16: off different sounds of different outlets show all right, So
- 28:22Speaker 16: if he does run that way, he now believes that
- 28:27Speaker 16: he may be run into a.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Banker Coaders Patty, I would stop Genius. Before the operation
- 28:35Speaker 1: gets underway, the deputies and the SWAN team rehearse the
- 28:41Speaker 1: takedown perfect. The sheriff puts pictures of this decoy on
- 28:50Speaker 1: social media, saying she's looking for a date. She's actually
- 28:53Speaker 1: a twenty year old employee of the Sheriff's department. We're
- 28:57Speaker 1: keeping her identity secret for her own protection.
- 29:00Speaker 8: What's your goal when you take a photo? I just
- 29:02Speaker 8: try to look as young as possible.
- 29:04Speaker 12: I don't wear any makeup or anything like that, and
- 29:06Speaker 12: I'll wear like older clothes that I have, so that way,
- 29:08Speaker 12: I'll appear to be fourteen.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Once the man makes contact, Investigator Heather Murray takes on
- 29:14Speaker 1: the role of the fourteen year old they've named CALLI
- 29:18Speaker 1: what made you.
- 29:18Speaker 8: Get into this?
- 29:19Speaker 1: You, Chris Hansen, You were like so awesome.
- 29:23Speaker 7: Really, I, you know, I kind of always wanted to
- 29:25Speaker 7: go on law enforcement, and I actually started watching your
- 29:28Speaker 7: shows and what you did, and I thought.
- 29:30Speaker 4: How cool will that be?
- 29:32Speaker 8: You've been chatting with a number of guys in preparation
- 29:34Speaker 8: for this investigation. What's the most disturbing thing someone has
- 29:38Speaker 8: said to you. I'll be honest, I think it's the
- 29:41Speaker 8: man that wants to paddle me.
- 29:43Speaker 1: You heard right, She says, the guy wants to paddle her.
- 29:48Speaker 12: I'm going to call this person who goes by male disciplinarian.
- 29:53Speaker 1: His name is Derek Brett Decent, but he goes by Brett.
- 29:56Speaker 1: He's thirty nine years old from Centreville, Alabama. He claims
- 30:00Speaker 1: he's a full time caretaker for his mom. He likes fish,
- 30:03Speaker 1: and he says he likes to paddle young girls.
- 30:07Speaker 6: He likes me to call him Daddy and serve.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Heather dials Daddy Deson's number, Listen closely. Decent mumbles a lot, Hey, Hey, Like,
- 30:23Speaker 1: I'm in my.
- 30:24Speaker 8: Room right now.
- 30:25Speaker 12: I can't go outside because, like you know, my granny's
- 30:27Speaker 12: like in the living room, so I don't want her
- 30:30Speaker 12: to like hear what I'm talking about.
- 30:34Speaker 1: The sheriff says, Decent sent the decoy a picture of
- 30:37Speaker 1: paddles that he says he'll use to inflict pain and bruising,
- 30:41Speaker 1: like those, yeah, the paddle things.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, here's here's a question.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I don't let up.
- 30:59Speaker 14: Question of it.
- 31:03Speaker 5: How bad is that?
- 31:03Speaker 4: It's just me and my grainy and like I don't
- 31:06Speaker 4: walk around naked.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Or anything, so like yeah, yeah, Decent tells Heather it
- 31:12Speaker 1: will take a while to get there, and he lives
- 31:15Speaker 1: two hundred and fifty miles away in a different time
- 31:18Speaker 1: zone and his car is on the fritz.
- 31:21Speaker 7: It would be four hours.
- 31:22Speaker 1: But on the first an I don't know.
- 31:25Speaker 6: Over years, she's.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Like like super dark or just like a little dark.
- 31:38Speaker 1: That's because Heather is trained to use phrases like super
- 31:41Speaker 1: so she sounds like a teenager.
- 31:44Speaker 8: And how do you do that?
- 31:45Speaker 13: I don't know, No, I mean really, I kind of
- 31:49Speaker 13: go back to when I was fourteen.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Heather invites me to listen in as she reels in
- 31:55Speaker 1: her fish loving admirer.
- 31:57Speaker 15: I wanted something when I get there, Oh, I don't know.
- 32:00Speaker 4: I'll make you a sandwich, you know. Oh I like
- 32:08Speaker 4: chicken nuggets.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I got your doctor.
- 32:13Speaker 8: Fah uh uh.
- 32:18Speaker 2: They're at.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Home for their first meeting. Deson asks her to wear jiggings,
- 32:28Speaker 1: tight denim leggings.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Jiggings.
- 32:30Speaker 13: Yes, I will, I will puts on.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Dson is on the way, but he's about to take
- 32:37Speaker 1: a big detour next.
- 32:40Speaker 7: I don't know where I have.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Deson is lost. He says he's bringing presents, but he's
- 32:45Speaker 1: the one who is going to get them. To take
- 32:47Speaker 1: some time. You got the right roommains out. An Alabama
- 32:53Speaker 1: man pulls up to a Georgia home believing he was
- 32:55Speaker 1: about to meet up with a fourteen year old, but
- 32:57Speaker 1: she's not inside that home. Instead, the place is filled
- 33:00Speaker 1: with hidden cameras undercover sheriff's deputies and me. The swat
- 33:06Speaker 1: team is on. The cameras are aimed, and the sheriff
- 33:10Speaker 1: and his deputies are waiting for Brett Deeson to iran.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Only one problem.
- 33:15Speaker 2: I don't know where I am.
- 33:16Speaker 1: He's lost deep in the pitch blank midnight of the
- 33:19Speaker 1: Georgia forest.
- 33:21Speaker 8: Are you on the right or left? Where I am
- 33:24Speaker 8: on the right?
- 33:25Speaker 7: You figure on the.
- 33:31Speaker 8: Lost him.
- 33:32Speaker 1: That's really closest, within two minutes away, but right as
- 33:34Speaker 1: he was about to get here, he lost his cell
- 33:37Speaker 1: phone signal.
- 33:37Speaker 8: He's got to be very close.
- 33:39Speaker 1: You can feel the tension build and the command center
- 33:42Speaker 1: that is literally.
- 33:43Speaker 15: A minute to two minutes away or whispering because the
- 33:46Speaker 15: decoy is trying to get him back out.
- 33:48Speaker 8: It sounds like I'm just.
- 33:51Speaker 12: Just park where the there's railroad ties and you can
- 33:55Speaker 12: just park right there.
- 33:56Speaker 8: I'm putting on my jaggings.
- 33:58Speaker 11: Hold on, yeah, that's a McGraney calls him railroad tithe.
- 34:05Speaker 8: Yeah, just give him in the front door. I'm putting
- 34:06Speaker 8: on my jeggings.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Hold on, no jeggings for him tonight. That rope just handcuffs.
- 34:16Speaker 1: The deputy's body cam shows this upclose angle of the arrest,
- 34:20Speaker 1: but before Deson is taken to the county jail, he's
- 34:23Speaker 1: taken inside the house and he's about to take a seat.
- 34:27Speaker 15: I'm Chris Hansen, whoa really yes.
- 34:30Speaker 1: With the deputies watching, Deson agrees to talk to me
- 34:33Speaker 1: and give his side of the story. Well, I do
- 34:35Speaker 1: not work for the Sheriff's department or the government, and
- 34:38Speaker 1: there's no rule that says you have to talk to me.
- 34:41Speaker 15: But I have some important questions for you that i'd
- 34:43Speaker 15: like you to answer.
- 34:44Speaker 8: Why did you come here tonight?
- 34:47Speaker 1: You don't know?
- 34:48Speaker 15: Oh who are you going to meet? It was a
- 34:55Speaker 15: fourteen year old roll name Cali right. What was your
- 34:59Speaker 15: plan here tonight?
- 35:02Speaker 8: Ah? Well, I have the transcripts, Yeah, so maybe I
- 35:07Speaker 8: can help you out? How young are you? Fourteen? Where
- 35:11Speaker 8: do you live? What state? Okay? Mm?
- 35:13Speaker 11: Are you gonna be paddled for using your phone? Have
- 35:16Speaker 11: you ever been paddled in school? What's thats right here?
- 35:20Speaker 8: One of those right there?
- 35:21Speaker 12: Uh?
- 35:21Speaker 1: That those paddles?
- 35:23Speaker 8: And what do you do with these paddles? A bunt roplay?
- 35:26Speaker 8: You buy rokelay role play? Yea? And what does this
- 35:29Speaker 8: role play entail?
- 35:30Speaker 15: Exactly right? I don't ask you some money.
- 35:33Speaker 8: I love grabbing, pinching, spanking. I love to give girls
- 35:36Speaker 8: what they need. What do girls need? In your opinion?
- 35:39Speaker 15: But oh, this is your chance practice to what to
- 35:45Speaker 15: help me understand what you're up to? And what do
- 35:48Speaker 15: you do for a living?
- 35:49Speaker 6: But i'm your take take car of own mother?
- 35:52Speaker 15: Does your mother know you're here to have sex with
- 35:54Speaker 15: a fourteen year old girl?
- 35:55Speaker 5: No?
- 35:56Speaker 8: And here you say, I'm not going to go easy
- 35:59Speaker 8: on you cause you're a girl.
- 36:00Speaker 11: I'm not going to hold back. I'm gonna bang you
- 36:03Speaker 11: so hard. What do you think would have happened tonight
- 36:06Speaker 11: if we weren't here and fourtune year old Kelly was here?
- 36:10Speaker 8: What would you done? Just hung out? Gave it hung out?
- 36:15Speaker 8: So you brought doctor Pepper. What else did you bring?
- 36:17Speaker 8: Did you bring condoms? Yeah? You were gonna have steps
- 36:21Speaker 8: of this girl?
- 36:21Speaker 15: Weren't you?
- 36:26Speaker 5: I die?
- 36:27Speaker 6: Doubt it?
- 36:27Speaker 5: Is it?
- 36:28Speaker 8: You doubt it? How long did you spend in the
- 36:31Speaker 8: car driving here?
- 36:32Speaker 6: But too long?
- 36:34Speaker 8: Too long? Was it worth it?
- 36:36Speaker 4: Brennew?
- 36:36Speaker 5: It was not.
- 36:37Speaker 15: What do you think should happen to you this time?
- 36:40Speaker 15: To me?
- 36:41Speaker 8: It's not up to you. Oh wait a minute, here's
- 36:43Speaker 8: some paddles? What's this right here?
- 36:46Speaker 15: Some fire says that here?
- 36:50Speaker 8: This was found in the car, in your car, an
- 36:54Speaker 8: evidence bag with hair in it.
- 36:57Speaker 15: Explain that long, i'm'a have it in baking in my car?
- 37:01Speaker 8: Whose hair is my veers? Doesn't look like yours? You
- 37:05Speaker 8: look like you have a crew cut?
- 37:07Speaker 1: Wow, I just cut it.
- 37:09Speaker 8: Explain this right over? We here? What do we have here?
- 37:13Speaker 11: There's a stick, big paddle, big paddle with holds a
- 37:17Speaker 11: little paddle.
- 37:18Speaker 8: Into the short. Explain this please?
- 37:23Speaker 6: That's uh, thankish.
- 37:26Speaker 15: Feta, And you were gonna practice that fetish on a
- 37:29Speaker 15: fourteen year old girl?
- 37:31Speaker 8: Wow?
- 37:32Speaker 4: How was it?
- 37:33Speaker 15: Why would you bring this stuff if you were working
- 37:34Speaker 15: to use her? It's gonna broady it alright.
- 37:41Speaker 8: These gentlemen are gonna talk to you some more.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Decent's next up the county gym. Heather showed me what
- 37:50Speaker 1: she found in his car.
- 37:51Speaker 8: The movies.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Here, secretary, a receipt from Walmart. Would you take a
- 37:57Speaker 1: look in the back sheet right here, there's plenty of
- 37:59Speaker 1: Geetory aids.
- 38:02Speaker 8: Coca Cola, doctor pepper. As asked by the decoy, what
- 38:05Speaker 8: does this look like to you, Well, it definitely looks
- 38:08Speaker 8: like he was coming down to stay.
- 38:11Speaker 1: And look what else they found in Decon's wallet.
- 38:13Speaker 8: Pictures of young women that came out of his wallet.
- 38:17Speaker 8: We don't know who they are. And what's in this
