- 1:09asked her to come on my podcast and I am.
- 1:12So just grateful, she said yes to this because this

- 1:26about her own moment where her life came to an abrupt.
- 1:30Till and how she got through. This is such a powerful
- 1:35conversation and I can't wait. So let's dive in.
- 1:38Here's my guest Crystal Ward. Hi Crystal, welcome to, she
- 1:43speaks life. I am so happy, you're here.
- 1:46Thank you so much for having me Jamie, and I'm super excited
- 1:49that we actually get to meet after having a few conversations
- 1:52over socials and different things.
- 1:54So, I'm excited to hang out with you today.
- 1:56I know this is so exciting, well, I gotta first start out.
- 2:00With how I met you. I get these devotionals sent to
- 2:05my inbox from the passion translation and you wrote a
- 2:11beautiful devotional or article blog about when you're calling
- 2:17feels canceled. And that just like caught my eye
- 2:21right away. And as I was reading your whole
- 2:25blog, I was just taken in by how How your dreams and your
- 2:33Ambitions just felt like locked doors and that, yeah, your
- 2:38frustration and your Wounded Heart just was distracting.
- 2:44You, and you almost got to the point where you're just going to
- 2:47throw in the towel and then you went into like this night at a
- 2:51conference and how God began to just wrestle with you.
- 2:56And I had to write down some of these words because I mean,
- 3:01everyone just needs to read this whole article is so good, but
- 3:05you had said and I quote the desire to follow God, finally
- 3:11outweighed my hurt. And I Rose from the chair leery
- 3:14of trusting my grief to the father, I knelt and prayed,
- 3:18you're going to have to do it. I can't make things happen on my
- 3:22own and I just love that part of surrender, and then you go on
- 3:29with what What that look like afterwards and you're a founder
- 3:34of Grace to grow. And we're going to be talking
- 3:38about your book Grace to grow 42 votes, his release anxiety, and
- 3:43dive into your purpose. I know you have been in
- 3:46Ministry, pastoral Ministry for a long time.
- 3:50So just share with us more about who you are.
- 3:52But also what else you can share about that wonderful devotional.
- 3:58Oh my goodness, you don't even Know how much of a blessing it
- 4:02is to hear that that people are resonating with with look.
- 4:09The thing is is that we go through struggles in life but
- 4:13with the Lord nothing is ever wasted.
- 4:15Romans 8:28 says that he uses all things to our good and so we
- 4:21don't know how God will take that pain and repurpose it to
- 4:27bless someone else and it's really like an Stretched hand,
- 4:31the pain that we went through with the Holy Spirit on it and
- 4:35the healing power of God on it, how it becomes an outstretched
- 4:39hand to someone else. So I just I just feeling like in
- 4:43this moment, let's encourage someone that is listening that
- 4:47you've been walking through these seasons of pain.
- 4:50Walk With Jesus, let the Holy Spirit.
- 4:54He is right there with you, and let him take some of that pain
- 4:59and turn it into. Purpose for his glory.
- 5:02And so I get, I get these testimonies a lot from the book
- 5:07or the devotional that I just released, which the article that
- 5:11you read with the passion translation was adapted from the
- 5:14book that I just released in December, just a few weeks ago.
- 5:18Oh my goodness. I guess I just, I just past four
- 5:21weeks. I'm still alive from and went
- 5:27the, the the article that Jamie's talking about release.
- 5:30Ston the passion translation blog and you can go find it
- 5:34there, super wonderful blog and it is adapted from the book that
- 5:40I just released called Grace to grow.
- 5:42Jamie already read the title, 40 devotions to release anxiety,
- 5:46and dive into purpose. And the goal of the devotionals
- 5:4940 devotions, each one can be read for 5 in 5 minutes or less
- 5:55and it's just to help us draw close to Jesus every day and and
- 6:00to Us tools to really walk out the rest of the day with him.
- 6:05Yeah. And so we can unpack that a
- 6:07little bit more, but maybe I should say who I am.
- 6:10Who are you? My name is Chris toward.
- 6:13I am an author, I am a minister, a mom, a wife, my husband b.j.
- 6:20And I am so thankful for him that we get to do the life that
- 6:26we do together. He's my number one supporter all
- 6:29the time. And we have three kids together.
- 6:34Abby, who is currently 14 Emma? Who is currently 11 and Evan,
- 6:40who is currently seven, and I'm always really proud when I get
- 6:43those ages, right? It is, I have a Ministry by the
- 6:49same name as my book, it's called Grace to grow, and we
- 6:53help busy people to grow in their relationship with the
- 6:57Lord. And that's what we do.
- 6:58So that's a little bit about me. I love it.
- 7:01Yeah, I know. I got three kids.
- 7:03And it's hard to remember all their ages and time.
- 7:07Just speeds by. Like, you're right.
- 7:09Oh my gosh. There this age already and all
- 7:12that. Well, I just love that you are
- 7:14here and we're just going to talk about all things with your
- 7:19devotional and about Grace and purpose and, and calling and I
- 7:26really love that. It's something that we can all
- 7:30Late. We have all struggled from time
- 7:33to time, have gone through anxiety and you know, how do we
- 7:38was that look like, how do we get rid of it?
- 7:41How do we make God's voice louder than our worries and
- 7:46fears and all that. So tell me your story though and
- 7:51your book you talk about a time where your life came to abrupt
- 7:54standstill and you didn't really know if you're going to recover
- 7:59Share with us that that season that may be led you to write
- 8:05this devotional on or this book on anxiety.
- 8:10Yeah. Absolutely.
- 8:11That's it's, it's honestly a little bit difficult for me to
- 8:15talk about it. Something that I didn't talk
- 8:17about four years. I've been a Pulpit Minister for
- 8:21I don't even know how long since probably more than 20 years and
- 8:27this event it took me Years before, I really discussed it
- 8:31publicly. And one day the Lord said that
- 8:35it was time to redeem it and I said, no it's not.
- 8:40It's so the end of that is it became No.1 of this one of the
- 8:44stories in my book, but the story is that our youngest son,
- 8:49who is now seven. His name is Evan, Evan is 7 and
- 8:54he when he was only four months old had a reaction.
- 8:59To some medication that caused him to have over 70 seizures in
- 9:0330 days. And and I know that so many
- 9:07people that are listening to this podcast today probably have
- 9:12experience with that. And for me it was probably and
- 9:19still is one of the most difficult things I had ever
- 9:22walked through at that time and really, what happened?
- 9:27I mean if you imagine I was only four months old, it's not a lot
- 9:30different than a newborn. And even, even after the the
- 9:37seizures lasted approximately 30 days in even after it, they
- 9:41ended the amount of anxiety that I battled after that event.
- 9:49It was, it was astronomical. It really was.
- 9:52I felt like every time I went to get him out of his crib or every
- 9:56time I looked in the mirror or in the middle of the night, or
- 9:59Or that he was going to be having a seizure.
- 10:01I was concerned for the quality of life that our son was going
- 10:06to live as we move forward. And I know that so many people
- 10:10can relate to that feeling as well.
- 10:13And what I found is this is this is what I think for me that that
- 10:19event really uncovered a lifelong battle with fear that I
- 10:24didn't know existed. It really, I'm Sure how much
- 10:30fear it caused? Probably some for sure, but I
- 10:34think it more uncovered. What was already there?
- 10:38Now, I do not believe that it was, the Lord's will for this to
- 10:40happen to my son. Absolutely not.
- 10:42But God has used it to help heal and Deliver Me from anxiety.
- 10:49That I have experienced so much in my life, but also hopefully
- 10:54to help share that with others as well.
- 10:56Yeah. And, you know, there's just Like
- 11:00the enemy when they when he attacks our kids.
- 11:02It's like we that is like one of the worst thing, the worst
- 11:06things you can do to us, Mom's right righteous.
- 11:10And you know, it's easy to just get into that fear, especially
- 11:14the unknown with with that with seizures, you know, and any
- 11:20illness and sickness that your kids are battling and you're
- 11:25you're not in control your, you know, and In the unknown.
- 11:30And that creates fear when we, when we can't see.
- 11:35And we don't know what the result is going to be.
- 11:38And so, oh, man, I can't imagine.
- 11:41So, going through the anxiety and hardship and all that.
- 11:46I'm sure you had some PTSD, right?
- 11:49Like always thinking, maybe that your child is going to go into
- 11:55seizures again because I think sometimes when we see something,
- 11:59It's so tragic like that you just instantly start getting
- 12:02these flashbacks and that's flooded memory, right?
- 12:06And then that triggers that fear.
- 12:09So, okay, so this ledged you. Now, you walk through anxiety,
- 12:13you know what, it's like to what you were saying to grow and
- 12:18Grace. So what ways did writing this
- 12:22book affect your thoughts about growing in your relationship
- 12:27with God? What did it do for you?
- 12:29You're writing these devotionals.
- 12:31Yeah. I you know I think that so it
- 12:34was so much in this book is just from my life.
- 12:38It's not all about me but it's really came together just doing
- 12:44life with Jesus. And one of the things that I say
- 12:49in this book is that you have Grace for your place and I
- 12:55really discovered that with those issues with my son.
- 12:59But also so many other issues that we all go through
- 13:02challenging things and degrees of difficulty, some things being
- 13:07trials, something's being tragedies.
- 13:09And here's the thing, is that God's grace is always there.
- 13:15And, you know, if we were to try to define grace volumes of
- 13:20books, good it really describe adequately, right?
- 13:24What God's grace really is it, you know, there's a definition
- 13:28that we hear a lot that, As that Grace is God's undeserved
- 13:31kindness and it's true. It is.
- 13:34But that just scratches the surface of what Grace really is
- 13:39and here's what I found that Grace.
- 13:42Yes, it is God's undeserved kindness, but it is also God's
- 13:46empowerment on our lives to walk through whatever we are walking
- 13:52through with him. And so we see that in these, you
- 13:57know, I mean, What I went through with Evan was more of a
- 14:02tragedy than it was a trial or tribulation, but, you know, even
- 14:07in just the ordinary everyday challenges of life.
- 14:12God's grace is on you, my friend on Jamie, but also on the
- 14:16listeners, every person listening, please hear me.
- 14:20If you know Jesus, the grace of God is on you right now to walk
- 14:27through whatever it is you're facing.
- 14:29With him and his grace is more than sufficient for you.
- 14:34And again, I like to say, you have Grace for your place, every
- 14:39single season of life, and if you don't mind, I'd love to give
- 14:43an illustration from scripture that has helped me so much in my
- 14:48own life, you know, in the Old Testament, in the book of
- 14:52Exodus, we see the children of Israel, they God delivers them
- 14:58from Egypt. And they are wandering in the
- 15:01desert and I have been down in that area close to it in Israel
- 15:07and it is, h.o.t. hot. I mean, oh my gracious.
- 15:14It is actual desert near scripture calls it Wilderness.
- 15:19There's different names that scripture uses but it was hot.
- 15:25It's so here we have these armies and these people that
- 15:29were Livered Forum their servitude, their slavery in
- 15:32Egypt and feeling like things are all going to be going
- 15:36amazing. And then they land in this
- 15:39Wilderness or this desert. And maybe I can pause for a
- 15:42second. And say if you're listening you
- 15:45may be feeling like you're taking the long way around know
- 15:48that God's grace is sufficient and his timing is perfect and
- 15:53he's provided everything you need in him.
- 15:57And so just just Follow him because it me and Jamie were
- 16:02talking about this before the show that God is the author of
- 16:06time. God is outside of time.
- 16:09He's not bound by it and then God's grace comes on time and he
- 16:15redeems it on our behalf. So you're not lost.
- 16:18He knows, right. Exactly where you are.
- 16:20He's leading. You just follow him and it
- 16:23shouldn't be. It shouldn't be hard or
- 16:25striving. It should be gracious and
- 16:28loving. Gentle.
- 16:30And so back to this story. Yeah.
- 16:32So now they're in the wilderness and it is hot, but scripture
- 16:36says that God LED them with a pillar of cloud by the day and a
- 16:42pillar of Fire by night. Now, if you've been in Sunday
- 16:46school and they had those felt boards, you know, and they would
- 16:50have all these little felt things, right?
- 16:52And they would, so some of our listeners made have no idea what
- 16:55we're talking about. That's cool.
- 16:57It's like a nap but It was like cardboard and fabric.
- 17:01Okay, so so but but we were often shown these pictures of a
- 17:08cylindrical, pillar of cloud and cylindrical Pillar of Fire.
- 17:14But I learned that in Hebrew that word pillar can also mean a
- 17:19flat surface and we actually can see this over in Isaiah as well.
- 17:25Isaiah talks about it being flat, and so this is what I
- 17:28picture. After being down in that area in
- 17:31close to that region. Yeah.
- 17:33Is that that cloud was flat? And it covered the children of
- 17:38Israel by day protecting them from that blazing.
- 17:43Almost evil son. Yeah.
- 17:46And then at night the desert is cold, right?
- 17:49Right. And so I picture a flat covering
- 17:55of fire that provided light, it provided War, With right.
- 18:00And and that's a picture of gray, skies, that is a picture
- 18:04of Grace, the grace of God coming on you in every season.
- 18:08Now, the key is relationship with him.
- 18:12It's we always have his grace but we learn how to tap into it.
- 18:16A lot more through intimacy with Jesus.
- 18:20I could keep preaching all day, but I could have let you talk
- 18:23while I take some walk. I mean, I can listen all day.
- 18:26I mean, I'm just soaking this in Crystal, I have Never seen that.
- 18:31What a great picture of just God's comfort, you know, with
- 18:37both like shade cloud from the Sun, from the heat, right?
- 18:42Flat surface. Because I think for most of us
- 18:45were thinking a pillar like, you know, some column or something
- 18:50and then or torch and how the fire was flat to provide them.
- 18:57Like you said, the warmth, With and just a blanket of his of his
- 19:02light and and and comfort. I just that was just so
- 19:07beautiful. No one has ever described that
- 19:10like that before I love it it's helped me so much to remember
- 19:14that. It's just a beautiful picture of
- 19:16Grace. It really is and how God guides
- 19:20and protects and provides. I mean it's just yeah that's
- 19:24beautiful. Okay.
- 19:26So you were talking about what is the intersection?
- 19:29Go growth and Grace. Like expand on that because I
- 19:33know you talked about that in your book.
- 19:35Yeah. They seem like they're like,
- 19:37like maybe they're not connected, there's Grace and
- 19:39then there's growth. And when I say growth, I mean
- 19:43growing closer in your relationship with God.
- 19:45You can also call it spiritual growth.
- 19:47You can call it discipleship, but really growth equals
- 19:52intimacy with Jesus. And what does grace have to do
- 19:56with intimacy, with Jesus? And so, We live in a self-care
- 20:01generation, right? We're taught like take care of
- 20:03yourself and, and, and then we have seasons in our life where
- 20:08self care is like an anomaly. What even is that?
- 20:12Like, I haven't even had a shower in some seasons in my
- 20:16have today just so you know, all the listeners I have showered.
- 20:20However, there are seasons in my life when the kids were little
- 20:23when I felt like I was conquering a mountain if I got
- 20:27to take a five-minute shower, right?
- 20:29Or even going to the bathroom. I know that might be TMI too
- 20:33much and voice. Oh my gosh, I'm like, is this
- 20:36ever gonna end it? Can I ever just go to the
- 20:38bathroom by myself and piece, right?
- 20:41And exactly like with little fingers under the door, right?
- 20:45And it's Mommy and Daddy. What are you doing?
- 20:48Mommy, tried to take a minute away from you.
- 20:52So I know you know, it was so we live in this self-care
- 20:56generation, you know, generation or culture.
- 20:59And listen for a whole lot of us that feels impossible and
- 21:04relationship with God like like an intimate close relationship
- 21:09with God feels impossible to it's like that's just another
- 21:15thing on my to-do list, you know.
- 21:17Like I just like God understands and that's for another time.
- 21:24No, no. Today they have salvation
- 21:27scripture says call them the Lord while he is near.
- 21:29And so we actually can combine these ideas of Grace and
- 21:34intimacy with Jesus or growth because it is the grace of God.
- 21:39That always is drawing. You closer always saying come to
- 21:44me, come to me. And one of the things that I
- 21:47teach in the book and in other formats is that actually, we
- 21:55feel like we exist for all these things.
- 21:59But scripture says we exist for one thing and that's
- 22:04relationship with Jesus. We find that in Luke chapter 10
- 22:07or we can find it in many places in scripture, but in Luke
- 22:11chapter 10, we see the story of Mary and Martha, you remember
- 22:14them? And in Jesus was coming to
- 22:17Martha's house. And so we have these two sisters
- 22:21and they respond very differently to Jesus showing up
- 22:26and they're spaced and Three is sitting at the feet of Jesus,
- 22:32and Martha is busy rushing all around the place.
- 22:35Trying to get all these things done and she's busy with all the
- 22:40details and I like to say she's pulled in every direction
- 22:44because that's how we feel a lot of the times, right?
- 22:46I'm like, pulled in every direction.
- 22:49So Martha gets mad and I can just imagine her like stomping
- 22:53your foot like at her sisters, slamming the dishes, right?
- 22:56All these, you know, passive-aggressive reactions.
- 22:59And as she walks into the room and she almost just short of
- 23:04Demands that Jesus make her sister get to work.
- 23:08She says Lord like tell her to get to work and help which we
- 23:13can totally relate to right. And I love Jesus responds.
- 23:18He doesn't scold Martha. He doesn't shame her, which is
- 23:22the way we feel. A lot of the times when were in
- 23:24that busy brained, you know, type of thinking We feel like
- 23:29God shaming us or he's going to scold us.
- 23:33Jesus responds and he says, my dear Martha.
- 23:36He calls her dear uses a term of endearment.
- 23:39He responded gently to her. So if you're in that season of
- 23:43life, where you're like, I'm going, I'm just doing good to
- 23:47eat. I eat on the run.
- 23:49I'm doing good to shower. I get it.
- 23:52We've many of us have been there.
- 23:54Understand that. God's not shaming.
- 23:56You, he's not mad at you. He's not trying.
- 23:59I'd to guilt trip you. He says my dear come to me, but
- 24:04then Jesus says another thing and he says he says Martha you
- 24:09are ain't in the Greek, it means this anxious and troubled about
- 24:14all these details. But Mary she has found the one
- 24:20thing worth being concerned about and I'm not going to take
- 24:23it away from her. And so what Jesus is saying,
- 24:26Mary has found the one And I like to say that Mariah really
- 24:32found the purpose of life at Jesus feet.
- 24:36And so, we get this image of, oh, my relationship with the
- 24:40Lord is another thing. No, it's the thing.
- 24:45But in every season of life, God's grace comes on our time,
- 24:50our effort, whatever, we give to God the grace of the Lord comes
- 24:56upon that and he multiplies it. It.
- 24:59So there have been some seasons in my life.
- 25:02I don't know if all of our listeners are female but I'm
- 25:05sorry to any guys that are listening, right?
- 25:06Well, they are because she speaks life women.
- 25:09There we go. That's right.
- 25:11It's sheets. It's like, yeah.
- 25:13So menu walked into a woman's part.
- 25:15Yeah, okay, okay. There have been seasons in my
- 25:19life. Where the best I could do was
- 25:22listening to my Bible while I was feeding the baby, there was
- 25:26seasons in my life where the best I could Do is five minutes
- 25:30before it before I started hearing screaming kids or or
- 25:34there were times where I would take my son outside in the yard
- 25:38and I would paste the yard and pray while he played.
- 25:42But the grace of the Lord Came Upon that and I want to
- 25:45encourage you. If you're listening, I just
- 25:49encourage you. Don't treat your relationship
- 25:51with the Lord. Like it's another thing.
- 25:53No, it's the thing. He's Grace will Empower you to
- 25:56be close to him but then he He also wants to walk with you
- 26:01through the rest of your day and do your day with him.
- 26:06Yeah. And and you will find that life
- 26:09is so much more fulfilling so much more rewarding so much more
- 26:12peaceful. We Begin.
- 26:14We get access to all the fruits of the spirit in that way and
- 26:18but it's Grace that enables us to do that.
- 26:21Hmm, I love that. And that just shows, like, don't
- 26:25compartmentalize God. He doesn't want to be.
- 26:29Lies dead, and he wants to be all in every detail.
- 26:33Every area of our life, every room of our heart everywhere.
- 26:37And, yeah, I, it's just, that's beautiful everything.
- 26:41You just said that intimacy with the Lord, that not looking at it
- 26:46as adding that to our list. But having not be the most
- 26:50important thing. The one thing that you've just
- 26:54shared, yeah. Right.
- 26:55And it may I add, can I add a quick before you were you No one
- 26:59is, is I think that the Lord is so much more gentle than we
- 27:06often realize. Oh, I know.
- 27:08And, and we think so many times that I didn't do this, I didn't
- 27:15do that. And like the Lord is going to
- 27:16strike us with a lightning bolt friend.
- 27:19That's Greek mythology. That's Roots, that's not the
- 27:22Lord that we serve. Yeah the Lord that we serve.
- 27:25He is gentle. He's compassionate, he's slow to
- 27:28get angry and that's the Old Testament that says that he is,
- 27:31he is full of unfailing, love, and so, the Lord is always
- 27:36saying, it's his goodness that leads us to repentance and he is
- 27:39always saying, come, come now, just come to me.
- 27:43I am gentle and lowly at heart. You'll find rest for your souls.
- 27:47So I just wanted to add that because I think that we get that
- 27:50image skewed, we really do that. Brings me back to a memory.
- 27:56I a time where I was poor In coffee.
- 28:00And I was going through that struggle of not having my time
- 28:04with God that intimate Quiet Moments.
- 28:08And I started feeling guilty, like shameful for for not giving
- 28:14that time that I know is beneficial and good.
- 28:18And I just felt like we're talking about God, holy spirit,
- 28:23being gentle, and how. He's a gentleman at just so
- 28:28tenderly. I heard him speak to my heart
- 28:33that I want to spend time with you.
- 28:36Have you ever thought about me wanting to Delight in you and
- 28:41spend time with you, instead of the other way around of I should
- 28:44be spending time with God. I uh I right and God was like
- 28:49no, like think of it this way. This is the perspective.
- 28:54Is that I want to spend time with you.
- 28:58I'm Sitting here on the couch, waiting for you to just come
- 29:02over and sit next to me and let's chat it out and and talk
- 29:06and it just completely just impacted my heart.
- 29:10So like deeply that I was just from here on out.
- 29:15I never struggled with that guilt and that, you know, shame
- 29:19of I'm not spending time because he showed me what he sees.
- 29:25You know, right. This is, this is how I see it.
- 29:29This is the truth that I want to spend time with you.
- 29:33And so we are talking about fear and anxiety.
- 29:36I mean, we're talking about shame in your book.
- 29:40You share about how it impacts our personal growth.
- 29:44So now we're kind of on the subject of Shame.
- 29:49Expand on that. Share what you have on shame.
- 29:54Yeah, yeah, I touch on a couple of different things.
- 29:56I know that anxiety is on the cover and it is heavily.
- 29:59Covered in the book. But really what I was trying to
- 30:02get people to do, is to move from one point into this active
- 30:07growing thriving, intimate relationship with the Lord.
- 30:10And so I'm like, okay, we're going to have to tackle a few
- 30:12things. One of those is anxiety because
- 30:14it's so big in our culture and it was really big for me.
- 30:17But we also touch on a few other things as well.
- 30:19And so shame came up and we're even discussing that just now in
- 30:24a certain way, I like to even lump like Mom guilt In with
- 30:29shape, you know, where I didn't do this.
- 30:32I didn't do that. I'm totally messing up my kids
- 30:36probably not it. And, and, you know, we really
- 30:40have and maybe even maybe even a little bit and maybe I'm, you
- 30:46might think I'm reaching, I don't know.
- 30:47But social media comparison, I don't know, even maybe adds a
- 30:52little bit to shame. It's all this feeling of.
- 30:55I'm not good enough and I'm not worthy and maybe can I tell you
- 30:59this today? That that feeling of I'm not
- 31:04worthy is not biblical at all. It's not scriptural because are
- 31:11worth isn't established on Art our own character our own bases.
- 31:19Yeah. Actually Jesus exchanged his
- 31:23perfect life for our life so are worth.
- 31:29Is only defined by the one who paid for it.
- 31:34So we don't even get to dictate our worth because we didn't pay
- 31:38for our own life, we couldn't it's based on the life of Jesus.
- 31:44And that's why Hebrews 4 says. Now we can boldly come to the
- 31:50throne of grace. And so, when we look at that
- 31:52idea of Shame, Shame pushes got away and says, I can't come.
- 31:59Come to you because and and really the answer is always,
- 32:06always come to me. The answer is always come
- 32:10closer. I like to say that prayer is the
- 32:15first answer to every problem. Yeah, but I defined prayer just
- 32:20a little differently than some most people Define prayer.
- 32:23I think as a conversation with god which it definitely is that
- 32:29That, but the Apostle Paul told us to pray without ceasing.
- 32:32So if prayer is only a conversation with god, then how
- 32:36can we pray without ceasing? I like to call prayer as
- 32:40connection with God. To me prayer is a state of being
- 32:46connected with the Holy Spirit, which we can go in and out of,
- 32:49depending on how aware we are of his presence with us all day and
- 32:56so, but shame. Shame actually pushes against
- 33:01that and says I I can't because in fills in the blank and some
- 33:06arbitrary and it may feel like it's real.
- 33:10It may feel like it's a valid I can't because, but it's not
- 33:15scriptural. Yeah, our relationship with God.
- 33:19Our value in our worth is is actually defined by the life of
- 33:25Jesus. And so I just want to encourage
- 33:27you today that No matter what's going on, the answer is, is come
- 33:32close to the Lord. And and through Jesus you have
- 33:38every right to access to him and access has access to all of the
- 33:44promises of his word. Every right so, good.
- 33:48Amen, to that. Whoo, go girl.
- 33:51Alright, alright, something you shared in grace to grows that,
- 33:56you can be fruitful and Seizing our life.
- 33:59Yeah. You expand on that and then,
- 34:02we'll finish up with a takeaway. Awesome, awesome.
- 34:05Well, that's actually from Psalm chapter one which I was just
- 34:09reading today. Psalm chapter 1 is the key verse
- 34:13behind my Ministry Grace to grow, which a lot of that is
- 34:19really the key idea Direction but behind the book, Grace to
- 34:25grow and I love psalm. Chapter one, actually have this
- 34:29big piece of art that I did. That is not that amazing, but I
- 34:35did it and it's a tree and it says Psalm chapter 1 and it
- 34:40became the basis for my logo for Grace to grow.
- 34:44And it says this, it says that those that Delight in the law of
- 34:48the Lord meditating on it day and night will be like a tree
- 34:53planted by the riverbank. And it says that their leaves
- 34:58Nether never wither, they bear fruit in each season.
- 35:03I think I flipped those lines they bear fruit in each season,
- 35:06their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all that they
- 35:10do. And so, actually through
- 35:13connection with the Lord, through what scriptures tells us
- 35:18meditating on his word. Now, you remember, you might
- 35:22remember that King David said Lord let the meditation of my
- 35:26heart be pleasing to you. Oh, women, we can meditate on a
- 35:30lot, our brains get to going. And they follow these tracks and
- 35:34a lot of the times. Those tracks, don't align with
- 35:38the word of God. They're not scriptural and they
- 35:42are not helpful. They're harmful and I get it.
- 35:46I battle with with my thought patterns, you know, just
- 35:51spiraling off into, we can in five minutes.
- 35:54Be off in Never Land somewhere and the world ending.
- 35:58Borrow and it just it having a whole conversation in our minds
- 36:02that never happened. But scripture promises us that
- 36:06when we mul over meditate over the word of the Lord that we can
- 36:12actually be fruitful in every season in some translations that
- 36:18says in his season. So it leads me to to think about
- 36:23God's timing like we discussed already.
- 36:26And so I just want to encourage Yeah.
- 36:28Yeah, every listener be with the Lord, prioritize your
- 36:33relationship with God. I know it feels like you don't
- 36:38have time, A lot of the times, but remember the god that we
- 36:42serve, he actually multiplied, the five loaves of bread and two
- 36:46fish and stretched it to feed the multitudes, right?
- 36:50The god that we serve actually spoke in calm the storm and in
- 36:54that same story whenever they were hit, Jesus and the
- 36:58disciples were in the boat in the storm.
- 37:01If you read it, it says that afterwards.
- 37:03They looked up and they had arrived at their destination.
- 37:07So he's the author of time. He's the Redeemer of time, it in
- 37:12all of these things. Don't I just encourage you to
- 37:14remember that when we prioritize the Lord I really feel like we
- 37:19are more empowered to walk in his grace, the rest of the day
- 37:23and you will be surprised at how he multiplies and Ben's time I'm
- 37:28in your favor and how he stretches and multiplies your
- 37:34efforts. And when we do that, and we're
- 37:37meditating on his word were thinking about what his word
- 37:40says we bring our thoughts back to the Lord and back to his
- 37:45word, scripture gives us a promise that our leaves will
- 37:49never wither. Picture.
- 37:52What a what? A withering tree looks like,
- 37:54right? It gives us promise.
- 37:56They were always receiving the refreshing that we need.
- 38:00That gentle flowing river. It gives us the promise that
- 38:03will bear fruit in every single season.
- 38:05Even those really really, really hard ones.
- 38:09And that we will prosper in all that we do.
- 38:12And so, hopefully, that is a good reminder for us today.
- 38:19Yes. I mean, Amen.
- 38:21To all Is so rich Crystal. Thank you so much for sharing,
- 38:26your wisdom and encouragement and your message with us.
