- 2:12Speaker 4: Yeah, we we died some shots of coffee before we came.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Thank you for saying shots of coffee. I appreciate that
- 2:17Speaker 2: because whenever the fun girls get here, we never know
- 2:19Speaker 2: what's going to happen. So it's a Monday, it's a Monday.
- 2:22Speaker 4: It's Wednesday morning.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Night switch.
- 2:26Speaker 2: A happy President's Day, by the way, So favorite president?
- 2:33Speaker 2: Oh we have what's that? Okay? Not the one we have? Okay,
- 2:38Speaker 2: that's fine, that's fine. See, choose somebody random that nobody
- 2:42Speaker 2: can argue with. You know, you could say Benjamin Harrison
- 2:45Speaker 2: or somebody you know, Ulysses Grant.
- 2:47Speaker 4: You always as a kid, I always liked Garfield just
- 2:51Speaker 4: because there was a cat named Garfield, and I would
- 2:53Speaker 4: pretend that they were the same. Right, we were led
- 2:56Speaker 4: by a cat.
- 2:57Speaker 2: All right, nothing wrong with that.
- 3:00Speaker 6: I have to go with Lincoln.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Okay, can we get have you come in that microphone
- 3:03Speaker 2: a little bit?
- 3:03Speaker 7: Oh?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yeah, you have.
- 3:04Speaker 6: You have to go with Lincoln Lincoln.
- 3:05Speaker 2: All right, all right, will you okay, there's no right
- 3:07Speaker 2: or wrong answer. Appreciate it. Appreciate text says Calvin Coolidge
- 3:11Speaker 2: was their favorite president. So there you go. We'll just
- 3:14Speaker 2: continue that text throughout the show. Tell us who your
- 3:16Speaker 2: favorite president is or was? All right, Before we get
- 3:20Speaker 2: to the I know you want to talk about the
- 3:22Speaker 2: dad jokes competition we've got, well, but I also want
- 3:24Speaker 2: to talk about some other things going on with your group.
- 3:26Speaker 2: For those who may not know, haven't heard you on
- 3:28Speaker 2: the show in the past, explain the west Side Neighborhood
- 3:30Speaker 2: Association to us.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Well, the west Side Neighborhood Association is and organization has
- 3:35Speaker 4: been around for thirty years. Whose neighbors coming together to
- 3:38Speaker 4: organize cleanups and celebrate the west Side, And so we've
- 3:41Speaker 4: kind of continued that model. We do organized cleanups. Sometimes
- 3:45Speaker 4: they're fun and they're free and we get the community together.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Other times we try to make them a little bit
- 3:49Speaker 4: more fun and have a magician on hand and charcooterie
- 3:53Speaker 4: and things like that. So we just try to organize
- 3:55Speaker 4: all these fun events bring people together. Swamp Meets, I mean,
- 3:59Speaker 4: we have a monthly social where people can come out
- 4:02Speaker 4: and find about resources that are on the west Side,
- 4:04Speaker 4: but also meet their neighbors and just take care of
- 4:07Speaker 4: some problems they might have in their community.
- 4:09Speaker 6: And it's it's a good time.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And it's open to anybody that lives on the west Side.
- 4:12Speaker 4: When I lives on the west Side, Listen, if you
- 4:15Speaker 4: live on the East End and you want to help
- 4:16Speaker 4: us clean up, like, we're not going to turn.
- 4:18Speaker 5: You, okay, all right?
- 4:19Speaker 2: Or business owners, I mean, ye, all of it.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Everybody.
- 4:22Speaker 6: We are.
- 4:23Speaker 4: We are into building a big community because Charleston's not
- 4:26Speaker 4: that big of a place, so we all need a
- 4:28Speaker 4: rally together.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Have you been involved in the organization?
- 4:31Speaker 4: I feel like it's been two and a half years
- 4:33Speaker 4: at this year in April, it will be two years,
- 4:36Speaker 4: all right, two years?
- 4:38Speaker 2: What was it they got you involved in this?
- 4:40Speaker 8: Samantha Well, I live on the west Side. I love
- 4:43Speaker 8: I chose my house specifically because I wanted to live
- 4:46Speaker 8: on the west Side. And I do a lot of
- 4:48Speaker 8: work on the national and state level, but I really
- 4:52Speaker 8: wanted to feel connected to my local community. So what
- 4:55Speaker 8: better way than working for my neighborhood association?
- 4:57Speaker 2: What is it that makes the west Side the best side?
- 4:59Speaker 8: Is the same there are so many things that make
- 5:01Speaker 8: the West Side the best side, including honestly, it's the people.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Though.
- 5:05Speaker 8: One of my first experiences, like even just touring the
- 5:07Speaker 8: neighborhood was how friendly everyone was, from the folks walking
- 5:10Speaker 8: on the street to people noticing that I was looking
- 5:14Speaker 8: for houses. They're like, this is a great place to live,
- 5:17Speaker 8: and they took the time to talk talk to me
- 5:19Speaker 8: about the neighborhood. And I'm just like, if people cared this.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So you're not originally from Charleston, No.
- 5:23Speaker 8: No, okay, I've lived here eight years though, Okay, so
- 5:25Speaker 8: all right, there's that.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Well my point is is because a lot of people
- 5:28Speaker 2: that live in certain areas wherever it is, you know,
- 5:31Speaker 2: they said, well I grew up here whatever, But you
- 5:33Speaker 2: don't have that story. You know, you're not from here,
- 5:35Speaker 2: but but you chose the West So what about you, Naomi,
- 5:37Speaker 2: would you.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Grow up I grew up in a place called Nuanbag, Germany, Okay,
- 5:42Speaker 4: and then move here as a teenager, moved southern part
- 5:45Speaker 4: of the state.
- 5:46Speaker 2: And then what part of the southern because I'm a
- 5:48Speaker 2: southern Lincoln County, Oh yeah, Logan County. Practically neighbors or
- 5:51Speaker 2: cousins or both that.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Could be true, that could be Dating in high school
- 5:56Speaker 4: was difficult, lay enough fiery unions to.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Not related and suddenly goes off the rails in time
- 6:06Speaker 2: of the fun girls were here, all right, So you
- 6:08Speaker 2: got another dad jokes competition? Come up right now? Talk
- 6:11Speaker 2: about this this second year. You've done this, all right,
- 6:13Speaker 2: here's sure talk about it.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Well, we moved it. Originally we had last year around June,
- 6:18Speaker 4: around Father's So we moved it because there's a lot
- 6:21Speaker 4: going on in this city in June and we didn't
- 6:23Speaker 4: want to put an additional strain on everybody. So, you know,
- 6:26Speaker 4: March is kind of aut like you're trying to get out.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Sun's coming out a little bit, there's some flowers, so
- 6:32Speaker 4: we got to do some things.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Sorry, and so and what is the date again?
- 6:35Speaker 6: Saturday?
- 6:36Speaker 2: I think you charged your microphone off over there?
- 6:38Speaker 8: Yes, secrets Okay, Saturday, March twenty first, okay, And where's
- 6:42Speaker 8: it going to be.
- 6:43Speaker 4: It's going to be at the Capitol Theater. So it'll
- 6:45Speaker 4: be one two three Summer Streets also known as Resurrection Church.
- 6:48Speaker 2: All right, So what is it about this that I mean?
- 6:51Speaker 2: Obviously you did it last year and you had success
- 6:53Speaker 2: with what actually goes on there in the dad jokes competition.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Well, we have local folks, regular people off the tell
- 7:00Speaker 4: dad jokes. They come and they compete, and like, you
- 7:03Speaker 4: don't have to be a dad, because a dad is
- 7:05Speaker 4: a vibe. So like men and women, however you identify,
- 7:08Speaker 4: you're welcome as long so you can tell a corny joke,
- 7:12Speaker 4: we are here for it.
- 7:13Speaker 2: We've kind of, I think, adopted that term dad jokes,
- 7:16Speaker 2: and basically it's just corny normally clean jokes. I mean
- 7:19Speaker 2: I don't think that they have to be, but normally
- 7:21Speaker 2: that's what they are. Yeah, that's a good dad joke,
- 7:23Speaker 2: good puns and things of that nature. How many people
- 7:25Speaker 2: did you participate? Last year?
- 7:27Speaker 4: We sold out and then we had some folks that
- 7:31Speaker 4: got a little strange fright, so they didn't show up.
- 7:33Speaker 8: Yeah, we had some scaredy cats that I had booked
- 7:36Speaker 8: ten ten dad joke tellers and then suddenly five had
- 7:41Speaker 8: excuses the day of cold feet, so to speak. But
- 7:45Speaker 8: we did have five contestants and they made it a
- 7:47Speaker 8: really good show.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Okay, all right, so what do you look for in
- 7:50Speaker 2: somebody to participate on?
- 7:52Speaker 8: Okay, well, so one thing to say, you mentioned clean
- 7:55Speaker 8: dad jokes that we do look for folks that are
- 7:57Speaker 8: willing to tell clean dad jokes, but innuendo is fine
- 8:02Speaker 8: because this is a family friendly audience.
- 8:03Speaker 2: PG. Thirteen.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Yeah. PG thirteen is fine.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Okay, kind of like think of The Muppet Show, right, like,
- 8:09Speaker 4: so the Muppets are for adults, but like the kids
- 8:12Speaker 4: are totally watching it because they're not understanding the inny
- 8:14Speaker 4: windows exactly.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I mean, and I and I grew up, you know,
- 8:17Speaker 2: in that era when the Muppet Show was first on TV.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And uh, and you're right about that, because there were
- 8:23Speaker 2: a lot of jokes that you know, eight year old
- 8:26Speaker 2: Dave didn't necessarily understand. But I would watch it with
- 8:29Speaker 2: my grandfather and he he thought it was hilarious. And
- 8:32Speaker 2: then as I got a little bit older, it's like, okay, well,
- 8:34Speaker 2: you know that doesn't mean what I thought. It didn't
- 8:35Speaker 2: mean it's dirty or anything. It was just that where
- 8:37Speaker 2: there was just some you know, different different level.
- 8:39Speaker 8: Yeah, there's a meaning tongue in cheek, weink and nod.
- 8:43Speaker 2: We're talking to Nail, me and Samantha here from the
- 8:45Speaker 2: West Side Neighborhood Association with Dave Island Show on five
- 8:48Speaker 2: any Live is broad Toe am part by Bridge Valley
- 8:50Speaker 2: Community Technical College. This is Bridge Valley dot eedu Bridge
- 8:53Speaker 2: Valley Community Technical College. Your career starts here, all right?
- 8:56Speaker 2: So how do people sign up?
- 8:57Speaker 8: So they can find on the event on Facebook and
- 9:00Speaker 8: link to our Google forum to sign up. It's very easy,
- 9:03Speaker 8: and then I review their application.
- 9:05Speaker 2: All right, So what is on the Applicationcation's very simple.
- 9:08Speaker 8: One of the things I am asking this year is
- 9:10Speaker 8: are you are you available? And are you willing to
- 9:14Speaker 8: perform in front of a live audience, because again some
- 9:19Speaker 8: people didn't realize, like the Capitol Theater is pretty grant
- 9:22Speaker 8: when you're on stage, so making sure you're willing for that.
- 9:25Speaker 8: But basically, they just need to tell me a joke,
- 9:27Speaker 8: give me their social media. Is that way I can
- 9:28Speaker 8: vet them and then I will give them a call
- 9:31Speaker 8: because they also need to see if they can handle
- 9:33Speaker 8: it okay.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Well, And I think that's very because we all know
- 9:36Speaker 2: those people that are funny. You know, you had that uncle,
- 9:38Speaker 2: you had that teacher, you know, coworker or whatever, but
- 9:41Speaker 2: doing it in front of people is a totally different thing.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I've always I mean I was always like the class
- 9:45Speaker 2: clown and surprise and all this and all this stuff.
- 9:49Speaker 2: But the first time I ever and I'm not a
- 9:51Speaker 2: professional stand up comic by any stretch of the imagination.
- 9:53Speaker 2: But I have done a few shows with other people
- 9:55Speaker 2: just because I wanted to, and I did it very
- 9:57Speaker 2: later in life. I just wanted to try it. It is,
- 10:00Speaker 2: I've only done four or five because I was like, okay,
- 10:02Speaker 2: I'm good. You know, that was a totally different world.
- 10:07Speaker 2: And plus having done this for thirty eight years, I'm
- 10:10Speaker 2: normally only looking at the people in the studio or
- 10:13Speaker 2: the people on the other side of the glass. I'm
- 10:15Speaker 2: not I get texts and I get phone calls and
- 10:18Speaker 2: so on and so forth, but there's no immediate feedback.
- 10:21Speaker 2: It's it's a little bit different, you know, when you're
- 10:24Speaker 2: when you're on stage. But the good thing about the
- 10:27Speaker 2: dad jokes thing is you don't necessarily have to bring
- 10:30Speaker 2: your own jokes. I mean, you can use other people's
- 10:33Speaker 2: if you want exactly, you.
- 10:34Speaker 8: Can borrow, you can do your research. Notebooks are fine.
- 10:37Speaker 8: We're allowed notes on stage.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Again.
- 10:39Speaker 8: Yeah, people aren't professional comedians and that's okay, that's the
- 10:42Speaker 8: that's the beauty of it. But they just need to
- 10:44Speaker 8: be willing to perform.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Yeah, and you don't have to like write all your
- 10:47Speaker 4: notes on your arm, you know, like you yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Totally laptop or whatever, you know, whatever works for you.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just more about your delivery and just the
- 10:56Speaker 4: spirit of the whole thing.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Okay. And uh so last year, was there any certain
- 11:02Speaker 2: joke that you had never heard before that you remember
- 11:06Speaker 2: that what really stuck out? Was there one in particular?
- 11:10Speaker 2: If not, it's fine, it's kind of a kind of
- 11:12Speaker 2: a sudden question. But I just thought there might be
- 11:14Speaker 2: one that may have stuck out.
- 11:17Speaker 8: I think there was a fart fart joke that killed Okay.
- 11:21Speaker 2: So I guess we can say that on the air. Ryan,
- 11:24Speaker 2: can we say that? Ryan said it was okay, we
- 11:26Speaker 2: can say that on the air.
- 11:28Speaker 6: If you can say it on air, you can say
- 11:29Speaker 6: it a joke, okay.
- 11:30Speaker 2: All right, right, all right, So so that was a joke.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Do you remember what the joke was?
- 11:34Speaker 8: It was just more I remember, like, like I said,
- 11:37Speaker 8: we had so many children in the audience, and they
- 11:39Speaker 8: just were we have rubber chickens that they can punk
- 11:44Speaker 8: instead of plopping.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Okay, And so you make it like Internet, it's like
- 11:47Speaker 2: the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Here, it's very tongs that you can purchase and like
- 11:51Speaker 4: you can bring clap along.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Now, what does it does it cost to enter the competition?
- 11:56Speaker 9: Oh?
- 11:56Speaker 6: It's free to enter.
- 11:57Speaker 2: That Well, I didn't know, because you're you're trying to
- 11:59Speaker 2: raise funds, I didn't know whether you charged to enter.
- 12:01Speaker 4: To be a contestant is free? But you know you
- 12:03Speaker 4: should bring along your family and everybody.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Right, yeah, and how much how much does it cost
- 12:07Speaker 2: to gain.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Those will be dollars pre sale and then thirty closer
- 12:12Speaker 4: at the.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Door of the night is show? Okay, all right? So
- 12:16Speaker 2: I grew up around a lot of dad jokes because
- 12:19Speaker 2: my dad, well he was a dad number one, but
- 12:21Speaker 2: he was also a very religious guy, and so all
- 12:24Speaker 2: of his jokes had to be clean. And he was
- 12:28Speaker 2: a Sunday school superintendent, and his job was to get
- 12:31Speaker 2: up and welcome everybody before the minister or in the choir.
- 12:34Speaker 2: He just welcomed everybody, and he thought it was his
- 12:36Speaker 2: job to come out and tell a few jokes. And
- 12:39Speaker 2: at some point, I mean there were a couple of
- 12:41Speaker 2: jokes that he told that the people were like, okay,
- 12:43Speaker 2: let's bring the preacher on. Now, we're ready for the preacher. Now,
- 12:47Speaker 2: one of my dad's jokes that he used to tell,
- 12:49Speaker 2: and it really he would talk about somebody that was
- 12:52Speaker 2: a bad singer and he would say, and this is
- 12:54Speaker 2: all in the delivery. He would say, well, she's sang
- 12:57Speaker 2: in the key of L. Well it sounds like hell.
- 13:00Speaker 2: You just got to say that, like, you know, quickly.
- 13:02Speaker 2: So that was that was one of my dad jokes.
- 13:04Speaker 6: But the good one.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that was one of his. It's not mine.
- 13:10Speaker 2: You have a nail me? Do you have a favorite
- 13:11Speaker 2: dad joke?
- 13:14Speaker 4: You know, my life is surrounded by dad jokes every time.
- 13:17Speaker 4: I know social media and everybody around me is telling
- 13:19Speaker 4: me dad jokes that when I'm asked to be on
- 13:22Speaker 4: to man, I don't really have one. Okay, that's fine,
- 13:24Speaker 4: but no way, I have a joke about time travel.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Okay, you didn't like it. Let's see what you did there?
- 13:33Speaker 2: All right? So what do you need from the listeners?
- 13:36Speaker 2: Do you i mean other than to show up? Do
- 13:37Speaker 2: you need uh? And contestants? Do you need judges? Do
- 13:40Speaker 2: you need are you good on jokeing?
- 13:42Speaker 4: Do we have good? We're moving on the judges. We're
- 13:45Speaker 4: nailing down our final like people see who they're available,
- 13:48Speaker 4: and so we'll have some what are to the.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Judges by the way, I mean, how does that.
- 13:52Speaker 6: Judging work for them?
- 13:54Speaker 2: Okay, of course you did.
- 13:57Speaker 8: They are judging on style of the joke delivery and
- 14:01Speaker 8: then audience feedback, because that's really good that they have
- 14:04Speaker 8: that rapport with the audience. And we have three rounds
- 14:08Speaker 8: of the contest, so they're judging at each round.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Okay, all right, so that means they have to and
- 14:13Speaker 2: how long do are the performances?
- 14:15Speaker 8: The first round is a speed round, I believe. I
- 14:18Speaker 8: think I have it as one minute of straight dad jokes. Okay,
- 14:20Speaker 8: you just keep them on coming.
- 14:22Speaker 2: And then so that could be any number though, because
- 14:24Speaker 2: some of them could be like just quick quick riddles
- 14:26Speaker 2: and some could be so that could be one joke
- 14:28Speaker 2: or ten exactly, okay.
- 14:30Speaker 8: And then round two is extended dad jokes so they
- 14:32Speaker 8: can tell a little story. And then the final round
- 14:36Speaker 8: is to determine, like it's like elimination.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, and so there's a grand champion, and okay,
- 14:43Speaker 2: do the second or third place or I just would
- 14:44Speaker 2: have one joe.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Well, last year we tied for first place, really, so
- 14:47Speaker 4: we had we didn't see that one coming.
- 14:49Speaker 6: I know they were professionals.
- 14:51Speaker 2: So they didn't you didn't make them like have a
- 14:54Speaker 2: have a joke off or anything.
- 14:55Speaker 6: They did have a joke off and they were It
- 14:58Speaker 6: went on a little too.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Long because they were really good. That's so good not laughing.
- 15:05Speaker 4: So yeah, we just decided to do a tie and
- 15:07Speaker 4: split up the prizes. So, okay, you get you get
- 15:09Speaker 4: a crown, you get a sash, you get a hilariously
- 15:12Speaker 4: cheesy trophy that Sam and I will probably make again
- 15:15Speaker 4: because we enjoy trying to incorporate crafts whenever we Okay,
- 15:18Speaker 4: so so you made the trophy, Well we kind of
- 15:21Speaker 4: repurposed a trophy.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Okay, do they get to keep it? I mean okay, yeah.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Yeah, they get to keep this one of the kind
- 15:27Speaker 4: piece of art from Samini.
- 15:28Speaker 8: Yes, dad, things like it was bowling trophy. Maybe this
- 15:32Speaker 8: year will be wrestling belts.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Okay, that's good, that's a good idea. I like the sash.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I think that's a that's a cool thing to have
- 15:39Speaker 2: the sash.
- 15:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's just kind of fun. We're just trying
- 15:42Speaker 4: to make it silly and let people, you know, be
- 15:44Speaker 4: able to walk around and barbecue with a crown and
- 15:47Speaker 4: a sash on and it really.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Is a good night. I mean it's a good night.
- 15:50Speaker 2: It's a good night. It's a good night.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 6: But we just really need contestants, right, Okay.
- 15:53Speaker 2: So we need contestants, all right, So here's your final
- 15:56Speaker 2: plug for contestants. Goad go ahead.
- 15:58Speaker 8: So if you know people who are funny we're telling
- 16:02Speaker 8: constantly telling you corny jokes, sign you sign them up
- 16:04Speaker 8: or tell you know, ask them to sign up, because
- 16:07Speaker 8: we want to see them perform on stage.
- 16:10Speaker 6: We are looking.
- 16:10Speaker 8: Probably we need ten contestants, so this is the time
- 16:13Speaker 8: to shine. So if people are always talking, oh a
- 16:16Speaker 8: big game about their dad jokes, Okay, let's put it
- 16:19Speaker 8: to the test.
- 16:20Speaker 6: Let's see if you can be the grand champion.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Just bring it. Yeah yeah, So how many do you
- 16:25Speaker 2: have signed up so far?
- 16:26Speaker 6: I think we have like a good handful.
- 16:27Speaker 2: So okay, all right, but you're not at ten yet. Yeah,
- 16:29Speaker 2: and ten's going to be your cutofft because I mean,
- 16:32Speaker 2: you don't want to have too many because at night
- 16:33Speaker 2: will go on. How long does the entire thing last?
- 16:35Speaker 2: I mean I think it's like just a two hour
- 16:36Speaker 2: of just a couple of hours.
- 16:38Speaker 8: It's a fun time that we can go explore downtown,
- 16:40Speaker 8: have a good night out.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Yeah, there's an intermission too, so we'll have a stand
- 16:44Speaker 4: up comedian on stage too, So.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Like an actual comedian, you go bring in okay, all right,
- 16:49Speaker 2: and do you do concessions and things like that.
- 16:51Speaker 4: Okay, they'll be popcorn and the little snacks and things
- 16:54Speaker 4: like that, and they'll be raffle baskets or prizes and
- 16:56Speaker 4: giveaways that there will be avail.
- 16:59Speaker 2: And again, all the proceeds benefit the West Side Neighborhood Association.
- 17:02Speaker 2: What are some of the projects that you've used the
- 17:04Speaker 2: money for or your other fundraitions.
- 17:06Speaker 4: So we use them to purchase more you know, litter pickers,
- 17:11Speaker 4: trash bags, safety vests for folks. We use it to
- 17:16Speaker 4: buy more seeds and flowers and things like that and
- 17:19Speaker 4: just kind of goes into our general you know, I'm
- 17:21Speaker 4: getting a pizza party together. This year's a special year
- 17:24Speaker 4: because we've been around for thirty years. So we will
- 17:26Speaker 4: probably use that money towards some of the bigger campaigns
- 17:29Speaker 4: that we're doing and doing some oral history and things
- 17:31Speaker 4: like that.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Okay, all right, give us all the details again, give
- 17:34Speaker 2: us the time, the date and where people learn more,
- 17:36Speaker 2: all right.

- 21:57Speaker 2: doctor Casey Sachs of Bridge Valley Community Tactical College. Mayor
- 22:01Speaker 2: Danny Jones is here. Good morning, sir, welcome back, Good morning.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I had to tell a real quick story to the
- 22:06Speaker 2: folks here. I hit Charleston around seven this morning, taking
- 22:10Speaker 2: my time getting off the Virginia Street exit by WSAZ
- 22:13Speaker 2: and the Hampton End, you know, pulling into town. And
- 22:17Speaker 2: if you picture this, I am in the far right
- 22:20Speaker 2: lane because I'm coming off the exit. There's a car
- 22:23Speaker 2: on the far left side, so basically there's a couple
- 22:26Speaker 2: of lanes in between us. Me and this other car.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Look straight ahead and there is a tesla coming the
- 22:33Speaker 2: wrong way up Virginia Street. I mean, if you can
- 22:38Speaker 2: picture that, I mean people do it all the time.
- 22:40Speaker 2: He or she is coming the wrong way up Virginia Street. Basically,
- 22:45Speaker 2: they split my neighbor and I not really my neighbor,
- 22:49Speaker 2: but they were in the other lane and so the
- 22:50Speaker 2: car we basically had to go to the sides so
- 22:53Speaker 2: the car could go between us. The only thing I
- 22:55Speaker 2: will say to that driver is I hope you got
- 22:57Speaker 2: where you're going safely because you dang near cast an
- 23:00Speaker 2: an accident with two people right there, And I was
- 23:02Speaker 2: thinking about this, Danny, you're a Charleston guy. I see
- 23:05Speaker 2: an awful lot of wrongway drivers on Virginia Street. Have
- 23:09Speaker 2: you noticed that?
- 23:11Speaker 5: I see them all over town?
- 23:12Speaker 2: Well, and I guess maybe it's because there's so much
- 23:14Speaker 2: on Virginia Street, and you think about it, it goes,
- 23:17Speaker 2: you know, all the way down to the Capitol. But
- 23:18Speaker 2: I can't. I mean, We've stood out here at eleven
- 23:21Speaker 2: eleven and just seeing people turn out of one of
- 23:23Speaker 2: the doctor's offices and they just go right back up
- 23:25Speaker 2: the street. And you would think that the blowing horns
- 23:28Speaker 2: and the people flashing their lights would be an indication
- 23:31Speaker 2: that maybe I've screwed up and I should pull to
- 23:33Speaker 2: the side and go in the opposite direction. But that
- 23:36Speaker 2: wasn't the case this morning. The tesla just kept right
- 23:38Speaker 2: on going.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Wonder what happened, maybe could or if it ever? I
- 23:43Speaker 5: hope it. I hope it caught the drift.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I hope it turned out okay, is what
- 23:49Speaker 2: I hope. I wouldn't. Nobody was hurt, all right, So
- 23:51Speaker 2: uh house California.
- 23:53Speaker 5: My friend, it was nice. Okay, I'm going.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Back Thursday, Thursday.
- 23:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll be back Sunday.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, that's a long trip to make for just
- 24:03Speaker 2: a few days.
- 24:05Speaker 5: I got business.
- 24:06Speaker 12: You got business, yeah, okay, I got business out there. Okay, Well,
- 24:10Speaker 12: I tell you you, I don't know how the weather
- 24:13Speaker 12: was when you were there, but it's pretty bad now
- 24:16Speaker 12: or it's going to be heavy rain in southern California.
- 24:19Speaker 12: I heard that then, like in the up in the mountains,
- 24:21Speaker 12: which you're nowhere near there. But if the mountains, they
- 24:23Speaker 12: were expected in some areas seven feet of snow. You
- 24:25Speaker 12: ever visited that part of California up in the mountains?
- 24:29Speaker 2: Stay? So it was nice when you were there. Is
- 24:30Speaker 2: that what you're saying.
- 24:32Speaker 5: I'm looking back here in your five degrees.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Yeah, last week.
- 24:36Speaker 5: And I have won my Facebook. I did some Facebook
- 24:40Speaker 5: videos and I'd hold my phone and let people watch
- 24:46Speaker 5: a surfer. You know, it was beautiful.
- 24:51Speaker 2: So today is President's Day. I have a feeling you've
- 24:56Speaker 2: talked about before who your favorite president was. But give
- 24:59Speaker 2: me a couple of others, me a couple of your
- 25:01Speaker 2: favorite president because you're a historian too, so it doesn't
- 25:03Speaker 2: have to necessarily be those during your lifetime. Who are
- 25:06Speaker 2: the most impactful presidents to you?
- 25:08Speaker 5: The most impact impactful?
- 25:10Speaker 2: Were your favorite? Either one answered how.
- 25:11Speaker 5: Let's to impact? Okay, go ahead, George Washington, Yeah, Abraham
- 25:15Speaker 5: Leca and Franklin delm or Roosevelt.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Okay, but who are your favorites? Though? Hmm, I didn't
- 25:24Speaker 2: think it would be that difficult. I thought you just
- 25:26Speaker 2: said Nixon and then going.
- 25:27Speaker 5: Away, that's Richard Nixon? Okay, Yeah, he was my favorite?
- 25:32Speaker 2: What was it about Nixon? Now we all know how
- 25:34Speaker 2: the Nixon presidency ended the second term with Watergate and
- 25:37Speaker 2: so on and so forth. But most people historians that
- 25:41Speaker 2: I have read, have said that, you know, Nixon wasn't perfect,
- 25:46Speaker 2: and obviously he's going to be remembered for Watergate, but
- 25:50Speaker 2: he did some really really good things as president.
- 25:53Speaker 5: I remember when in nineteen seventy seventy one he did
- 26:01Speaker 5: some stuff that the left really liked. You know, he
- 26:07Speaker 5: did waging price controls. I think he did it just
- 26:10Speaker 5: to prove they wouldn't work. He let the dollar float,
- 26:14Speaker 5: unlike now he had his The head of the FED
- 26:20Speaker 5: was a guy named Arthur Burns, and Nixon influenced him
- 26:25Speaker 5: and was able to do some stuff to him that
- 26:30Speaker 5: in Time magazine maybe Man of the Year. And you'd
- 26:35Speaker 5: never known in nineteen seventy one that he would have
- 26:44Speaker 5: three years later he would have had to leave somebody.
- 26:48Speaker 2: He told me this the other day, and I hope
- 26:50Speaker 2: I had the date on this right about Nixon's visit
- 26:53Speaker 2: to China? That when what year was that was that
- 26:59Speaker 2: seventy year sive.
- 27:01Speaker 5: Seventy two?
- 27:04Speaker 2: It was? It was definitely May of seventy two. Okay, Well,
- 27:06Speaker 2: that shoots my story out a heck. Then I was
- 27:08Speaker 2: gonna tell what were you going to say? Well, somebody
- 27:10Speaker 2: told me the other day that in May, that in
- 27:13Speaker 2: nineteen seventy two, that the Buffalo Creek flood, which killed
- 27:17Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty six people in my home county
- 27:19Speaker 2: of Logan, wasn't the lead story on the nationwide news.
- 27:22Speaker 2: That the lead story was the President being in China.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Buffalo That was in February of seventy two.
- 27:30Speaker 5: Buffalo Creek was earlier.
- 27:32Speaker 2: February seventy two. Yeah, it was, okay, yeah, and.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Maybe I just totally got that stretch went in the spring. Okay,
- 27:39Speaker 5: tell you a little story about it that Chawing Lie
- 27:44Speaker 5: greeted him off the plane. He was standing down at
- 27:50Speaker 5: the bottom. In nineteen fifty four, Chawing and Lie had
- 27:55Speaker 5: been an agreed, had been at a meeting in one
- 28:00Speaker 5: of those places in Switzerland where they gathered to make peace,
- 28:06Speaker 5: and John Foster Dallas wouldn't shake hands with Chung Wah,
- 28:13Speaker 5: and he wouldn't shake hands with him. So Nixon, when
- 28:17Speaker 5: he was four steps from the bottom, stuck his hand out.
- 28:24Speaker 5: He has his hands stuck out four step from the
- 28:27Speaker 5: bottom when he got off the plane. So to those
- 28:33Speaker 5: that had gotten in the minutia of history and knew that,
- 28:38Speaker 5: they knew, why.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Can you imagine what that moment would have been like
- 28:41Speaker 2: now with social media, how it would have been played
- 28:43Speaker 2: over and over again.
- 28:44Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, all right, So it was a big
- 28:48Speaker 5: deal when he did that.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Who do you think were the worst presidents? Well, and
- 28:55Speaker 2: here's the thing that's kind of an unfair question when
- 28:57Speaker 2: you're talking about your favorite or the best or the worst,
- 29:00Speaker 2: because they've all had good and bad, you know, moments.
- 29:03Speaker 2: A lot of people considered, although he was a great man,
- 29:06Speaker 2: a lot of people consider that Jimmy Carter was not
- 29:09Speaker 2: a good president. Nobody's going to question what an incredible
- 29:12Speaker 2: human being he was. He wasn't uh but that he
- 29:15Speaker 2: wasn't a great president. And I think Joe Biden's gonna
- 29:17Speaker 2: be remembered that way as well. Politics a side party aside.
- 29:20Speaker 2: I think Joe Biden will be remembered that way as well.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Harding, Okay, Wilson was racist. You go back. The guy
- 29:38Speaker 5: get the bad rap is uh Ulysses s Grant a
- 29:42Speaker 5: lot of corruption in his administration, and then Andrew Johnson,
- 29:48Speaker 5: of course he got impeached and kept from being convicted
- 29:53Speaker 5: by one vote, one vote, one vote, one vote. In
- 30:01Speaker 5: the middle there you had some guys like Miller Fillmore
- 30:05Speaker 5: that were just kind of nonexistent.
- 30:09Speaker 2: So we haven't mentioned the word. The two names that
- 30:12Speaker 2: haven't come up in either either name neither one of
- 30:16Speaker 2: these names to come up in our conversations so far
- 30:18Speaker 2: Reagan and Trump.
- 30:20Speaker 5: Well Reagan, I mean I liked Ronald Reagan. I voted
- 30:24Speaker 5: for him twice, and I liked him.
- 30:28Speaker 2: My first president I would have I was thinking the
- 30:30Speaker 2: first president I would have voted for would have been Bush.
- 30:32Speaker 2: The first because that's when when I was I turned
- 30:35Speaker 2: eighteen in eighteen eighty eight, so they would have been
- 30:37Speaker 2: the first president.
- 30:38Speaker 5: He was the most qualified.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Yeah, what about Trump? How's history going to look back
- 30:43Speaker 2: on Donald?
- 30:43Speaker 5: Not? Well? Not well, not in my humble opinion. And
- 30:51Speaker 5: you know the Kennedy Center, what he's done there. They're
- 30:56Speaker 5: taking all the Kennedy stuff out of the Kennedy Center.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I didn't know that. I knew that they were he
- 31:01Speaker 2: was wanting to change the name. I didn't know he
- 31:03Speaker 2: was taking this stuff.
- 31:04Speaker 5: And Maria Shriver is removing all the candis she's doing it. Okay,
- 31:09Speaker 5: all right, she's removing all of it. And maybe if
- 31:14Speaker 5: if we have a different president next time, maybe they'll
- 31:18Speaker 5: move it back in and call the Kennedy Center again.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Well and perform a lot of performers are canceling too.
- 31:23Speaker 2: They're not They're not going.
- 31:25Speaker 5: There'll be no performers if it's not If if President
- 31:30Speaker 5: Trump's going to put his name on it like he has,
- 31:34Speaker 5: people won't perform. I mean, Kid Rock, maybe.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Did you get get in on all of the super
- 31:40Speaker 2: Bowl halftime controversy?
- 31:42Speaker 5: I was out west.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Well that's interesting, So what was the I'm sure you
- 31:46Speaker 2: were with your friends watching the super Bowl. I mean
- 31:49Speaker 2: I would think that you were what was the what's
- 31:51Speaker 2: the vibe out west about the Bad Bunny versus the
- 31:54Speaker 2: Turning Point.
- 31:55Speaker 5: Well, they had a huge television and in the the
- 31:59Speaker 5: house I was, and they were watching Bad Bunny. It
- 32:03Speaker 5: wasn't a controversial. I couldn't understand what he was saying.
- 32:11Speaker 5: So I don't. I don't know how good a job
- 32:13Speaker 5: he did. Well, I mean, I'd rather watch the Bohemian.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Well there was you know again, we talked about this
- 32:21Speaker 2: last week, Danny and the super Bowl halftime show is
- 32:25Speaker 2: not designed for your people, your age, or even people
- 32:28Speaker 2: my age. It's not. It's not who it's designed for.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Bad Bunny has won a bunch of Grammys. He's one
- 32:33Speaker 2: of the top selling artists in America right now. So
- 32:36Speaker 2: be it. I just don't. I mean, we're out of it.
- 32:39Speaker 2: I mean we're out of the culture. It's not it's
- 32:41Speaker 2: not relevant. We're not relevant anymore. And certain in certain ways.
- 32:45Speaker 5: I got nothing against him.
- 32:46Speaker 2: No, I don't either, I have nothing against him.
- 32:49Speaker 5: I don't. I mean, the Patriots weren't gonna win, and
- 32:54Speaker 5: that's to who you're pulling forth And I had a
- 32:56Speaker 5: chance to get a ride. I went back to the hotel.

- 33:10Speaker 2: There are a lot of people, and I'll say this
- 33:11Speaker 2: will take the break. There are a lot of people
- 33:13Speaker 2: that say that in the last year of the presidency
- 33:15Speaker 2: that Reagan wasn't there either.
- 33:17Speaker 5: I don't buy that. You don't buy him.

- 35:47Speaker 2: Washington I, followed by Ronald Reagan, Thomas Jefferson, Calvin Coole,
- 35:52Speaker 2: each and Dwight Eisenhower, with honorable mentioned James Garfield.
- 35:55Speaker 5: According to a Texter Okay, all right.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Worst Presidents according to the same text number one, James Buchanan,
- 36:02Speaker 2: number two Andrew Johnson, three, Jimmy Carter, four Warren Harding,
- 36:07Speaker 2: and five Joe Biden with honorable mention as worse Franklin Pierce.
- 36:13Speaker 5: I don't, well there you can and I forgot about Okay, Yeah,
- 36:20Speaker 5: that's He's got a good list there.
- 36:23Speaker 2: All right. Uh, Texas. Trump could be considered one of
- 36:26Speaker 2: the worst, but also the most transformational in the history
- 36:29Speaker 2: of the Union.
- 36:31Speaker 5: In the Middle East with the Abraham Accords, and uh,
- 36:39Speaker 5: what's hard to hard to bad mouth what he's done there.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he's really even even some liberals have come out
- 36:46Speaker 2: who wouldn't give Trump credit if he if he cured cancer, Uh,
- 36:51Speaker 2: have come out and said that the things he's done
- 36:53Speaker 2: on the worldwide stage as far as the Middle East, whatever,
- 36:56Speaker 2: we're pretty good. Well, Donna Brazil of all.
- 36:59Speaker 5: People I'm critical of he told those protesters in Iran
- 37:06Speaker 5: that health was help was on the way, and it
- 37:09Speaker 5: wasn't and uh twenty thousand.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Bill Maher talked about that this past week in
- 37:14Speaker 2: his thirty thousand.
- 37:15Speaker 5: I mean, they couldn't find enough body bags for all
- 37:18Speaker 5: the people and you had, I mean those people over
- 37:21Speaker 5: in Iran, they need the Second Amendment.
- 37:24Speaker 2: They tex says, a liberal professor of mine told me
- 37:29Speaker 2: that judge that. Okay, let me back up. A liberal
- 37:33Speaker 2: professor of mine told me that judging presidents twenty years
- 37:37Speaker 2: after leaving office, so personal feelings are toned down in
- 37:40Speaker 2: time to see how the policy's fared. So, in other words,
- 37:43Speaker 2: what they're saying is is that you shouldn't judge somebody
- 37:46Speaker 2: until maybe twenty years later. And the text was on
- 37:49Speaker 2: to say Bush forty one is up for judgment at
- 37:51Speaker 2: this time.
- 37:54Speaker 5: Bush, you mean older Bush?
- 38:00Speaker 2: Well, well, if it was twenty years, I mean it
- 38:04Speaker 2: will be two thousand and six. That would be the
- 38:06Speaker 2: year we're looking at it.
- 38:07Speaker 5: Well, the Iraq War got him, Yeah, I mean it
- 38:10Speaker 5: was just, uh, I don't know, politely, it was a mistake, Texas.
- 38:15Speaker 2: President Trump has done more to strengthen this country than
- 38:18Speaker 2: any other president in my lifetime.
- 38:23Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
- 38:26Speaker 2: So that's your editorial comments.
- 38:29Speaker 5: I don't was that when he did the the cartoons
- 38:36Speaker 5: with the Obamas looking like primates?
- 38:38Speaker 4: Is that?
- 38:39Speaker 2: But they'll they'll defend that. Well, they say that it
- 38:42Speaker 2: wasn't that that there were others involved in that. Yeah,
- 38:47Speaker 2: that's my kind of my point there's just some lines.
- 38:49Speaker 2: And look, I'm a First Amendment absolutist. He has every
- 38:53Speaker 2: right in the world to do that, but doesn't make
- 38:55Speaker 2: it the right thing to do. You got it? The
- 38:56Speaker 2: president right exactly. He shouldn't be on social media to
- 38:59Speaker 2: begin with, and no president should be on social media
- 39:02Speaker 2: to begin with. In my opinion, tex says. The reason
- 39:05Speaker 2: there was so much hate towards Trump, look at what
- 39:07Speaker 2: these people are comfortable and permitted in saying and doing,
- 39:09Speaker 2: then have the gall to attempt to take some kind
- 39:12Speaker 2: of moral high ground. It's despicable. Because you don't like
- 39:15Speaker 2: him personally, you're going to turn a blind eye as
- 39:17Speaker 2: the nutcases of Minneapolis attack Ice and students across the
- 39:20Speaker 2: country take part in these walkouts to protest. Ice ended
- 39:23Speaker 2: up assaulting a parent, and they also hit a man
- 39:25Speaker 2: with rocks.
- 39:27Speaker 5: And I shot two people up there in Minneapolis, and
- 39:34Speaker 5: that that young man that was murder. That's that's my.
- 39:43Speaker 2: So I want to switch gears. I want to talk
- 39:45Speaker 2: about this whole thing with the Nancy Guthrine. You've been
- 39:47Speaker 2: following that. You said you're out in California. I know
- 39:49Speaker 2: it's on everywhere. It's one twenty five of the countries
- 39:53Speaker 2: is kind of it's if this is kind of a
- 39:56Speaker 2: bad equation, but it's kind of like the modern OJ triud.
- 39:59Speaker 2: You remember how everybody was about OJ but the but the
- 40:02Speaker 2: only difference was there wasn't social.
- 40:03Speaker 5: Media News says twenty four to seven. Okay, I mean
- 40:07Speaker 5: it's ah and you don't know if they you keep
- 40:14Speaker 5: thinking you're gonna have progress. But I mean it's been
- 40:18Speaker 5: what two weeks now.
- 40:19Speaker 2: The longer it goes, the more dismal, you know, it looks.
- 40:25Speaker 2: And something that I heard on ABC News, Danny this morning,
- 40:27Speaker 2: I was driving in this morning. You know, a lot
- 40:29Speaker 2: has been made about the glove that they found discarded,
- 40:33Speaker 2: you know, doing DNA testing on it and whatnot. The glove.
- 40:37Speaker 2: I heard this in the Morning news this morning. The
- 40:39Speaker 2: glove was one of something like sixteen gloves that they
- 40:43Speaker 2: found along the roadways. Now they say that many of
- 40:47Speaker 2: them were discarded by investigators. Now I'm not a crime
- 40:52Speaker 2: scene CSI kind of guy, Danny, But doesn't that seem weird.
- 40:57Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's nefarious anyway. I'm just saying that
- 40:59Speaker 2: the investigators are just tossing gloves right and left. I mean,
- 41:02Speaker 2: and then it's reckless. I mean it's reckless. It makes
- 41:07Speaker 2: no sense. And now all the conspiracy theory people have
- 41:10Speaker 2: gone in because I've read something yesterday and I almost
- 41:13Speaker 2: don't even want to repeat it because it's like it
- 41:17Speaker 2: lends more to it. But also that they're trying to
- 41:20Speaker 2: tie in that that Savannah Guthrie had done an interview
- 41:25Speaker 2: like one of the last interviews that she did was
- 41:27Speaker 2: with not Juleene Maxwell, but the other Virginia lady that
- 41:31Speaker 2: was that was involved in the in the whole Epstein file,
- 41:34Speaker 2: and and that this was somehow tied to the Epstein file.
- 41:36Speaker 2: I think this country is so it's got such a
- 41:40Speaker 2: penchant and such a obsession obsession that's the right word.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Obsession with the Epstein No matter what happens, it's going
- 41:48Speaker 2: to be tied into that. But this it is a
- 41:50Speaker 2: tragic story. But there are people that Danny are just
- 41:54Speaker 2: bought and they are obsessed with this Nancy Guthrie story.
- 41:57Speaker 5: And some people are obsessed with the Epstein files.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Oh no, I mean yeah a lot. And there are
- 42:03Speaker 2: people that are saying the conspiracy theory of people are saying, well,
- 42:06Speaker 2: we had to have something to draw attention away from
- 42:08Speaker 2: the mtbops, I got news for you. The Fsteam files
- 42:10Speaker 2: ain't going away. It's not going away, and the obsession
- 42:14Speaker 2: with it is not good anywhere.
- 42:16Speaker 5: It's okay with me. Bad news doesn't get better with
- 42:20Speaker 5: the age. Yeah, okay, So Attorney General Bondi and all those.
- 42:25Speaker 2: I was going to ask you what she thought about
- 42:26Speaker 2: the Jerry Springer episode last week with me with the
- 42:29Speaker 2: trees geral bonding.
- 42:30Speaker 5: She didn't look good. But they need to get all
- 42:34Speaker 5: the news out, just all of.
- 42:37Speaker 2: It, did you? A lot was made over the weekend,
- 42:41Speaker 2: some of the weekend shows, Danny will do this and
- 42:43Speaker 2: we'll go to break that during that hearing that she
- 42:46Speaker 2: was more interested in yelling back and the other side.
- 42:49Speaker 2: I mean, to be honest with you, the people on
- 42:51Speaker 2: the that were set behind the desk could have probably
- 42:53Speaker 2: done a little bit jaw a better job of keeping
- 42:55Speaker 2: their emotions in check. Okay, but it's a very emotional topic.
- 42:59Speaker 2: But that she would not look at the victims that
- 43:01Speaker 2: were standing there.
- 43:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I saw that. Yeah, she should have. And the
- 43:08Speaker 5: people questioning her right or wrong, they have five minutes
- 43:13Speaker 5: and what they're looking for yes or no answers, and
- 43:17Speaker 5: what she's trying to do filibuster, so that that just
- 43:22Speaker 5: doesn't go on with her, goes on for sure, anybody.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Anybody that's there. Tex says, with rating presidents, it will
- 43:29Speaker 2: also depend on what standards are you. Some may be
- 43:31Speaker 2: better domestic and horrible foreign and vice versa. Then that's
- 43:34Speaker 2: a very good point, okay, Texas. Trump has kept his
- 43:39Speaker 2: promises that he made during his campaign. Will go down
- 43:41Speaker 2: as the greatest president of my lifetime. One of those
- 43:44Speaker 2: promises was fully releasing the Epstein files. Well they haven't
- 43:48Speaker 2: done it, and that prices were going to go down
- 43:51Speaker 2: lower on day one, which did not happen. And look,
- 43:54Speaker 2: you should have never should have never made that promise
- 43:56Speaker 2: to begin with.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Well but let me let me let me defend him.
- 44:00Speaker 2: All right, go ahead.
- 44:02Speaker 5: You have a lower rate of inflation than you than
- 44:07Speaker 5: you had before. What if you want prices to go down,
- 44:11Speaker 5: you need to either have a recession or a depression.
- 44:15Speaker 5: Prices aren't going to go down. But he said he
- 44:19Speaker 5: made he said on day one, prices go down. No
- 44:21Speaker 5: president can do that. He should have never said it.
- 44:23Speaker 5: It was a stupid thing to say. He said that
- 44:26Speaker 5: he was going to end the.
- 44:27Speaker 2: War in Ukraine and he would release the Epstein file.
- 44:31Speaker 5: Well, that's their fault. They ought to release them and
- 44:36Speaker 5: ought to do it on day one. You know, he's
- 44:39Speaker 5: gotten mad at uh Tim Scott and that Uh Brett,
- 44:46Speaker 5: Senator Brett from Alabama because they called those pictures of
- 44:52Speaker 5: the Obamas race.
- 44:53Speaker 2: I know Tim Scott did.
- 44:54Speaker 5: I heard no, she did too, Okay, he said he
- 44:58Speaker 5: might primary, you.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Know, Texas Florida guy Dave. Today is seventeen days of
- 45:05Speaker 2: the media NonStop hype on missing person Nancy Guthrie, only
- 45:09Speaker 2: because she's related to a big news personality. Any other
- 45:11Speaker 2: missing person won't be mentioned at all. China could be
- 45:14Speaker 2: dropping nukes on us and it would never be mentioned. Well,
- 45:16Speaker 2: that's just that's their that's our culture here, and it's
- 45:20Speaker 2: you can't blame the media for there it is. The
- 45:22Speaker 2: media is only answering what people are talking about now.
- 45:26Speaker 5: And I'm curious about it. She's an older lady and
- 45:33Speaker 5: we can relate to it because what if it happened
- 45:36Speaker 5: to us, What if our mother, our senior mother, eighty
- 45:42Speaker 5: four year old mother had been kidnapped? You know, can
- 45:46Speaker 5: Savannah Guthri? I guess she's probably in her fifties, you know.

- 48:52Speaker 2: says a Texter. Text says, uh yeah. The US has
- 48:56Speaker 2: an obsession with conspiracy theories. Look at the Epstein Trump files,
- 48:59Speaker 2: the president, the wealthiest people on the planet, people at
- 49:01Speaker 2: the top of their industries. A lot of them are
- 49:03Speaker 2: in there and had relationships with Epstein. Of course there's
- 49:06Speaker 2: conspiracies going on when there's an active denial campaign for
- 49:09Speaker 2: the DOJ about a global child sex trafficking ring. Texas,
- 49:16Speaker 2: you guys need to look at total forest, not a
- 49:18Speaker 2: single tree, when evaluating President Trump's effectiveness. To say that again,
- 49:22Speaker 2: you guys need to look at the total forest and
