- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are our last break of
- 0:03Speaker 1: the day. It's been a great day, a fun day.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Thank you everybody always for listening to us. Thank you
- 0:08Speaker 1: to you. We appreciate you, We appreciate your business. Thank
- 0:11Speaker 1: you so much. Junior, you have a question for.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Steve, Yeah, I do, uncle, and I want you to
- 0:16Speaker 2: expound on this because you know, we were talking about
- 0:18Speaker 2: Shaquille O'Neil earlier when he said he was chasing greatness
- 0:20Speaker 2: and the sacrifice he made. And you know, talk to
- 0:24Speaker 2: us about at twenty seven, how you made decision, how
- 0:26Speaker 2: you lost a family doing it. That's a that's a
- 0:30Speaker 2: real deep thought about all the things you sacrificed to
- 0:32Speaker 2: be mister Harvey today.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Well, you know, look in your life, whenever you make
- 0:38Speaker 3: a decision to improve, to become better, to do more,
- 0:44Speaker 3: to have more, to be more, all of that comes
- 0:49Speaker 3: with the price, because look, it takes sacrifice and it
- 0:54Speaker 3: takes above average effort to turn yourself into success. And
- 1:02Speaker 3: all the decisions you make along the way to become
- 1:05Speaker 3: successful are not going to be good decisions. Just because
- 1:10Speaker 3: you made the decision to do better, be better, get better,
- 1:15Speaker 3: make better, look better, it don't mean that that decision
- 1:22Speaker 3: is final. That's that's it. That's the last decision I
- 1:24Speaker 3: have to make. No, even when you make the decision,
- 1:28Speaker 3: there's repercussions. You know, when I walked in there and
- 1:33Speaker 3: I quit my job on October ninth, there were some
- 1:37Speaker 3: repercussions with that decision. It was a great decision to make,
- 1:40Speaker 3: but that came with repercussions. That check that I was
- 1:43Speaker 3: getting every other friday, that check stopped coming. That was
- 1:48Speaker 3: some repercussions. There were some people who were going to
- 1:51Speaker 3: suffer because of that. While I went out there and
- 1:53Speaker 3: made twenty five dollars a night telling jokes, fifty dollars
- 2:00Speaker 3: performing in restaurants that only had booths in it, standing
- 2:04Speaker 3: up on the stage behind I was on it. Man.
- 2:06Speaker 3: I'm stood on stage behind the bar above the cash
- 2:10Speaker 3: register in Sandesky, Ohio. You went behind the bar, walked
- 2:15Speaker 3: up some steps, and the stage was like on top
- 2:19Speaker 3: of the cash register. You know how the bar tend
- 2:21Speaker 3: to take your order and turn around to ring it
- 2:22Speaker 3: up on the cash register. On top of the cash
- 2:24Speaker 3: register was the stage and no bigger than a card table.
- 2:28Speaker 3: And that's why I stood to tell jokes. But all
- 2:32Speaker 3: of this seeking greatness came with a decision, and every
- 2:36Speaker 3: decision comes with consequences and ramifications. There are no free decisions.
- 2:43Speaker 3: All of your decisions that you make on your way
- 2:45Speaker 3: to success are not going to be happy decisions. It's
- 2:49Speaker 3: going to cost you something. But even when you make
- 2:54Speaker 3: the decisions, even though you think it's the best thing
- 2:57Speaker 3: to do right now, if it caught cause's some consequences
- 3:01Speaker 3: to other people. Probably need to find another way to
- 3:06Speaker 3: make the decision. But oftentimes you won't see it, and
- 3:12Speaker 3: oftentimes they're not there. And oftentimes if you do it
- 3:14Speaker 3: another way, it'll cause a delay. So when I made
- 3:19Speaker 3: the decision that Shaq was talking man, and I felt
- 3:21Speaker 3: so touched by his story. He lost the family family
- 3:26Speaker 3: trying to be great. I know what that feels like.
- 3:30Speaker 3: And I but and a young man came to me
- 3:33Speaker 3: recently about leaving his family to pursue his dream. And
- 3:36Speaker 3: I told him, I said, look, man, you can do that.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I said, you can go on and do that. I said,
- 3:40Speaker 3: I did it. I said, well, I want you to
- 3:42Speaker 3: understand something. If your decision affects other people, and you
- 3:47Speaker 3: don't put the other people into consideration in making that decision,
- 3:51Speaker 3: you're gonna pay for that. You're gonna pay for that,
- 3:55Speaker 3: but you don't know that at the time because at
- 3:58Speaker 3: the time it seems like the right thing to do.
- 4:03Speaker 3: So when you make the decision to move on, to
- 4:06Speaker 3: move up, to move forward, you got to consider all
- 4:10Speaker 3: of the stuff. Now, here's the problem. Oftentimes when you
- 4:15Speaker 3: consider other people and you listen to them, they're gonna
- 4:17Speaker 3: discourage you, and it may even persuade you not to
- 4:21Speaker 3: even pursue it. Well, see, now we're at that crossroad,
- 4:25Speaker 3: we at that problem. Well, you got to make a
- 4:28Speaker 3: decision to go anyway. And I just felt like that's
- 4:31Speaker 3: where I was at And oftentimes it is. But it's
- 4:35Speaker 3: a cost factor. You're not going to be successful without
- 4:39Speaker 3: paying the cost. You remember, I did a thing man
- 4:42Speaker 3: where I said, if you really really want to be really,
- 4:46Speaker 3: really financially successful, you can forget to sleep in eight
- 4:49Speaker 3: hours a day. You can forget that all. But then
- 4:54Speaker 3: all of the scientists and the doctors say you need
- 4:57Speaker 3: eight hours sleep. True, your body would love to get
- 5:02Speaker 3: eight hours of sleep, But if what you're trying to
- 5:05Speaker 3: accomplish or causes you to stay up late at night,
- 5:09Speaker 3: you got a decision to make. So then I had
- 5:12Speaker 3: people attacking me. Steve Harvey prefers wealth over health. No,
- 5:16Speaker 3: I'd love to be healthy, but I wanted to have
- 5:20Speaker 3: more also. So you gotta make a decision, and the
- 5:26Speaker 3: decision gonna cost. I'm paying for the way I've lived
- 5:31Speaker 3: now with some health issues, from some late nights, some
- 5:36Speaker 3: long hours, some grinding. I'm paying now for that. I
- 5:42Speaker 3: grind it so long, so hard. As I approached seventy,
- 5:46Speaker 3: my body went, hey, man, I'm tired. I had enough
- 5:49Speaker 3: of that. Now it comes with the cost. There is
- 5:53Speaker 3: no free You don't get to be this without giving
- 5:57Speaker 3: up that. You don't get to have that without giving
- 6:00Speaker 3: up this. It does not work that way. Show me
- 6:02Speaker 3: who can be successful and keeping half everything. You can
- 6:06Speaker 3: do that after you get it. But on the way,
- 6:10Speaker 3: Oh no, sir, Oh no, sir. Now, women out there
- 6:13Speaker 3: who have had children who had to leave them with
- 6:15Speaker 3: somebody else so they could pursue the dreams and give
- 6:17Speaker 3: them a life that they never had. The kids don't
- 6:19Speaker 3: even appreciate that. I'd suffer through all of that. Y'all.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Hang in there. You gotta make the decision to do
- 6:24Speaker 3: the best thing, and it might be the best thing
- 6:26Speaker 3: for everybody. Right now. But if it's gonna be the
- 6:28Speaker 3: best thing in the long run, then you gotta make
- 6:30Speaker 3: the decision for the long run, because you're gonna be
- 6:32Speaker 3: the long run. It's coming, it's here now, it's about now.
- 6:36Speaker 3: I have a great day to day. Talk to God today.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Would absolutely love to hear from them.
