- 0:16So we're going to start with First Corinthians chapter 2.
- 0:20When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or
- 0:24superior wisdom, as I proclaim to you the testimony about God.
- 0:29For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except
- 0:33Jesus Christ and Him crucified. If I came to you in weakness and
- 0:39fear and with much trembling, my message and my preaching were
- 0:43not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration
- 0:47of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on
- 0:52men's wisdom, but on God's power.
- 0:56We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but
- 1:01not the wisdom of this age or the rulers of this age who are
- 1:04coming to nothing. No, we speak the God's secret
- 1:08wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for
- 1:13our glory before time began. Nothing of the rulers of this
- 1:19age understood it, for if they had, they would have not
- 1:22crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written, no
- 1:32eye has seen, no ear has hurt, no mind has conceived what God
- 1:38has prepared for those who love Him.
- 1:43But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.
- 1:47For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of
- 1:50God. For what man knows the things of
- 1:53a man, except the spirit of the man, which is in him?
- 1:57Even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
- 2:02Now we have received not the Spirit of this world, but the
- 2:06Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have
- 2:10been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not
- 2:19in words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy
- 2:22Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
- 2:27But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit
- 2:30of God, for they are foolishness to him, nor can he know them,
- 2:35because they are spiritually discerned.
- 2:38But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is
- 2:44rightly judged by no one. For who has known the mind of
- 2:48the Lord, that we may instruct him?
- 2:51But we have the mind of Christ.
