- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans welcome in to do Vol.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: Daily presented by Gen Jack.com.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's Friday October 2nd.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm your host Jordan Delugio right now.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: We are talking Jaguars and Bengals.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: What else would we be talking about?
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: We've got a matchup between two AFC teams that have playoff aspirations.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Two teams that are two in one through three weeks.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Two teams that have very potent offenses.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars in the Bengals.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are visiting the Bengals.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: Two and a half point road.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Underdogs right now, the Jaguars are visiting the Bengals and Cincinnati before the Jaguars go take a trip across the pond to take on the Eagles and the Texans, but this is a big one here.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars can get to 3 and 1 heading over to London.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: That is a huge deal and if they fall to 2 and 2, obviously it makes things a little bit more dicey.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: But we're going to get into matchups to watch here between the Jaguars and Bengals.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: there's a lot of exciting matchups to talk about here.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to start off with one that's not like a traditional player versus player matchup.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: But first, do one of our mind, y'all, if you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe, you can also hit that high button.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: So, Jag war's offensive communication versus the crowd noise.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: We've been talking about this a lot this year because quite frankly, the Jag war's offense has not been the same on the road.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: as they have been at home, I think a lot of that has to do with the ability or inability to effectively communicate and get to the right play consistently, pre-snap.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe I'm wrong about that.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: There's no official confirmation, but it feels like
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars run the play clock down further.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like at the last second they're having a hike the ball more when they're on the road.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: Then when they're at home, it just is so much more difficult to play on the road and the NFL from a communication standpoint.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars are an offense that is trying to get to the right play.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: Pre-snap after the play is actually called as much as any team in the league, right?
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's going to be a huge deal.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars can get to the right play call and not have pre-snap blunders, we're like in the better word, I think that their offense is going to be a very good shape.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Now the vingles besides the crowd noise, which it will be there, they have some problems.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have to solve.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about that.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, Jamar Chase, right?
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Literally Jamar Chase is just one of one type of player.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: incredible wide receiver who really can do it all.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: I mean there's no weakness there.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's not the tallest receiver but he plays big, he's strong, he's physical.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: He can catch everything, he can make, you know, tiptoe, sideline, toe drag, swag,
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: You can go up and get it at an extremely high level, great body control and strengthen the air, explosiveness.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: He can run through you, he can run past you, tomorrow Chase is absolutely a problem.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: But it's only two Higgins and there's good other Ancillary receivers as well, you talk about just sicky and Chase Brown out of the backfield and some of their other guys.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's the, it's the Jermor Chase and T. Higgins show right now.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: And these two guys went healthy together, have just been incredibly dynamic and incredibly difficult to deal with T. Higgins, obviously Trevor Lawrence's former teammate at Clemson, but Higgins for his big and strong as he is, he can run well and he has incredible hands and and he's beat him a true pros pro.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a,
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: like Diabolical, one, two, I wide receiver for the Jaguars and the Jaguars are a team that since Anthony Campenele got here, Liam Cohen, they've struggled with opposing wide receiver ones now, you know, a lot of the league, struggles with these types of players, right?
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: How do you not allow them to take over the game?
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: I believe last year, Jamar Chase had something like 140, 150 yards against the Jaguars, and I was with Jake Browning thrown the ball, not Joe Burrow, but this is the type of matchup where the Jaguars defense, the Jaguars corners, Anthony Campanile and his game plan.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: How does he have these guys aligned?
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: What type of coverages are they utilizing?
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: His Travis Hunter matched up one on one.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: What's your Marchace?
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: Is it Buster Brown?
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: Is it Jarian Jones?
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: Is it a combination of all these guys?
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Are you running a lot more zone coverage, or are you running more man coverage?
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: How do you figure out?
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: what to do with specifically Jamar Chase, but also tea higgins, because he's, again, also a very, very good player.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: You talk about the Jaguars in their matchup with, you know, the Bengals last year.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: It was in week two of the regular season.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: They did not have Travis Hunter playing a lot of defense in that game.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't have Buster Brown in that game.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: He was still battling back from a knee injury, I believe, that he had in training camp.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: So, you didn't have Buster Brown.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's been one of your most consistent corners.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: You paid him this offseason.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter got called for what most people included myself consider, kind of bogus call.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: He actually did play 43 defensive snaps last year against the Bengals, so that's actually in line with what he did last week, against Travis Hunter, against the Patriots and Jacksonville.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: So they did have that, but I thought he had a good game last year, he didn't get matched up one on one a lot with Jamar Chase, he didn't have the opportunity to
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: to make a huge, I mean he had the opportunity to make a huge play down the stretch, but they call it a phantom path interference on him.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: So there's having not only Travis Hunter focused more on corner this year, but also having him, but having Buster Brown out there, does that allow you to have a better more cohesive plan for this past coverage against?
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, T. Higgins, that is a unbelievable trio when it comes to the Bengals passing in.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: And speaking of unbelievable, I'm areas men's over at Wright Tackle for the Bengals.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: Hemfer's is Trayvon Walker.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: And Trayvon Walker, he's going to move around, right?
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: But Trayvon Walker is going to move around, right?
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: But Trayvon Walker,
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: plays primarily on the defense of left side against the offensive right tackle, and these are just two of the biggest freak shows that you will ever see enter the NFL Emerius, Mems is an unbelievable athlete.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: Emerius Mems is an unbelievable athlete.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: Traywell Walker is an unbelievable athlete.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: They both have great size.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think as big of a freak as Traywell and his Emerius Mems and his size and athleticism and strength and the length and all that stuff might be even more rare.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: But those two guys go and add it on one on one is gonna be like get your popcorn ready.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: Traybaum Walker has been playing really good football for the Jaguars.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: His impact doesn't always show up in the stat sheet.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Marius Mems, has been excellent for the Bengals as well.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: So that's gonna be one I'm keeping an eye on.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: On the defensive left side, offensive right side.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: can drive on walker.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think he's going to do a good job against the run no matter who he's going up against.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: But can he make an impact because of past Russia and one-on-one situations against the marriage's men's?
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: And then on the other side, Josh Heinz Allen has got to win one-on-one's against Orlando Brown.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think he showed some more pop in week three than a lot of people have given him credit for.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: He did win on some cross-chops.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: He did beat.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: Wil Campbell several times, but yeah, I think Josh Heinz Allen versus Orlando Brown.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: This is the juiciest matchup he's had since week one, easily, for Josh Heinz Allen.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Orlando Brown is a veteran in this league he's played a long time, but he's just simply not a super efficient and effective.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: Pass Protector 1 on 1 as compared to the player like Josh Heinz Allen Josh Heinz Allen should be able to get after an Effect Joe Burrow in this game, and I think he's going to need to be able to do that in some key moments for the Jaguars to get this victory Talk about the Bingo's defense of line Boy, I'm off a versus Cole Van Lannon
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: My face turned into a really good player.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: He was kind of a little bit projecty coming into the NFL, developed a big time under the Seahawks, got paid this off season by the Bengals, and he's a player that has a lot of explosiveness and poppin' his game.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: Colvin Laneon's gonna have to be ready.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: And a big way for this challenge, because
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: He has had some ups and downs so far returning from the knee injury and playing right tackle, which, you know, he ended the season playing left tackle last year when he got paid.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be a huge matchup.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm off a will move around some last week he played mostly on the defensive left side offensive right side.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: But he's moved around some, don't know how much you're going to get that match up.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: But when Cole VanLane does get that match up, he simply has to not allow quick pressures.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: He has to fight and grind and not allow boy, I'm offered to just be in Trevor Lawrence's face immediately.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be something I'm definitely keeping an eye on there.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: And another thing with the...
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: Bingo's defensive line.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Dexter Lawrence is literally a huge problem.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: He's one of the biggest defensive linemen in football and he's explosive.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's getting off the ball.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's really helping their defense out of ton.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Now, against Steelers last week.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: The Bingo's defense was Swiss cheese.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: They were not great against the Buccaneers, who kind of gave that game away.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: They did a good job against the Texans.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: Their offense looks about as suspect as anyone and the league right now.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: So...
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not really saying like the Jaguar thing to be scared of the Bingo's defense, right?
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: But I am saying, Dexter Lawrence is a player who can wreck the game, boy, I'm off as a player who can wreck a drive, right?
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: So you've got to be aware of these guys, and obviously they will be, and you've got to have a good plan for how you are, I mean, for Dexter Lawrence, I mean, I think you're double teaming a lot.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: You're not leaving this guy one-on-one in a lot of past rushing situations, and then when it comes to the run,
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: You're probably trying to hit the B-gap and the C-gap more than the A-gap, but that's kind of the jag wars in my anyways.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they're really a team that they'll do it.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I've got to keep the defense honest.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Running up the A-gap, running some power concepts and things like that.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: But I think you want to get your offensive linemen on the move.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: You want to get bashedal tuton on the move, running outside the guards, outside the tackles.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: and using his speed and explosiveness and that leads me to betel Tutan versus Bengals tacklers.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: The Bengals have not been a great tackling team this year.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: They've not been a good run.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they've been a horrible run defense team.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: There are a lot of 4.7 yards for carry.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think Bishal Tutan is averaging 4.7 yards for carry.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: He has an extremely high success rate right now.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: He has an incredibly high mis tackle rate right now.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's running his butt off, and the Jaguars, I think, on the road, would be wise to have a game plan that heavily features bashed Tutan, coming out early in the game.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: And after the hat, like when you have some of your opportunities to kind of make a big moment, make a big statement, I should say, first quarter, first drive.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: third quarter, first drive, I think Tutan is going to be a big answer for you and not just run on the ball, but also catching the ball out of the back field.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that can be a really, really big thing for the Jaguars in this game.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think the bingles really have the guys to defend a facial Tutan right now.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: You know, speaking of making big statements, first drive of the first quarter, first drive of the third quarter.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen, Trevor Lawrence, versus the Bangle's defense, versus the Bangle's defensive coverage plan.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that a lot of team will say a lot.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: Over the last couple weeks, the Jaguar's face two teams that traditionally run about as much man coverage as anyone in the NFL.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: The vingles are not that high when it comes to the man cover drakes, but they want to do some amount of man covered under a algalden.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: Does algalden try to borrow some of what the Broncos did?
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: Does he feel like he has the guys that can mentally handle that task and what the Broncos did is they were showing man pre-snap and then dropping into different zone coverages.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: And that did make it very difficult for the Jaguars, especially on the road with the communication stuff we mentioned.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: to adjust to that offensively.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: So the chess match between Liam Cohen and Al Golden and then Lawrence being the player who has to figure this out in real time in between the whistles is going to be really interesting.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: There's Al Golden try to change the picture on the Jaguar's offense post snap as he make it difficult for them from a mental standpoint in that way.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's definitely something I'm going to be watching in a big way.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: and then the final one here and maybe the most exciting.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington vs. Dax Hill Parker Washington vs. the entire Bengals secondary.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think you are going to have a big big Parker Washington day in this one.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's due for absolutely going off and I think that the Bengals just lost their starting nickel, so they're having to do some shuffling around, Dax Hill is apparently going to be playing a lot more nickel, he was playing outside corner, he's done a lot of different positions throughout his career, he's going to be ready to compete with a Parker Washington at that situation, I'm not so sure, I haven't seen anybody really compete with Parker Washington at a high level over the last one.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: It gave something like that, so Parker Washington, I just cannot wait to watch that guy play football this week and very excited for it.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think anybody trying to cover Parker Washington, especially from the slot, is going to have a tough deal in 2026.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: But really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe y'all.
