- 0:03SPEAKER_03: You wanna stick around like glitter after a crash?
- 0:09SPEAKER_03: Come on, bro.
- 0:12SPEAKER_03: Like if you're gonna be gone, be gone.
- 0:15SPEAKER_03: Don't stick around and try to implement politics and posting stuff online about people and current situations.
- 0:23SPEAKER_03: Like, I'm gonna listen.
- 0:25SPEAKER_03: And I sh no one else should listen to me.
- 0:28SPEAKER_03: Because what you did was wrong.
- 0:33SPEAKER_03: And this is a podcast about calling out wrong.
- 0:37SPEAKER_03: I'll say the quiet things out loud.
- 0:39SPEAKER_03: Let's roll.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Man, here we are.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: It's finally reality.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: It's happening.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: We've been talking about this for way too long.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: Over a year.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Over a year now.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Here we are.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: What are we doing, man?
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Continuing the watch.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: That's been the theme ever since I met you, ever since that we've had the chance to get to know each other.
- 1:07SPEAKER_03: Well, we started off with the next watch.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: The next watch.
- 1:11SPEAKER_03: I used that as my theme when I was running for city council.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: Never thought I would be sitting here, a councilman, but I am.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: And it's been over a year since I've been, just over a year since I've been elected.
- 1:26SPEAKER_03: Uh we're shortly approaching the next election season.
- 1:31SPEAKER_03: Things I have learned.
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: Things I have seen.
- 1:38SPEAKER_03: Things I have witnessed that have surprised the crap out of me.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: And why are we here together?
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: Well, I appeared on your podcast, Finding Your Spine, and after the podcast, several people said, You you need to do your own podcast.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: What do I know about a podcast?
- 2:04SPEAKER_03: Computer.
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: Camera.
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: Nothing.
- 2:10SPEAKER_03: Chase, you know a little bit about a podcast.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Not as much as I'd like to, but a little bit.
- 2:15SPEAKER_03: A little bit.
- 2:17SPEAKER_03: So I thought, let's team up.
- 2:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: Let's team up and do say the quiet things out loud.
- 2:29SPEAKER_03: The things that people, the conversations that people have in barbershops, beauty salons, kitchen tables.
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: That we I'll say it here, but I won't say it outside because I don't want to be looked down upon, or I don't want to be that person.
- 2:49SPEAKER_03: I have no problem being that person.
- 2:53SPEAKER_03: And am I am I all that in a bag of chips above everyone else?
- 2:58SPEAKER_03: Absolutely not.
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: Nope.
- 3:02SPEAKER_03: But we're in a society now where you don't call out things, people go.
- 3:09SPEAKER_03: Let's see how much more we can get away with.
- 3:13SPEAKER_03: So this is a podcast about speaking the truth.
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: If you don't have anything to hide, you're good.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: There are things that burn me up.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: And I've got my background, I came from Nevada to Missouri in 2020.
- 3:44SPEAKER_03: And the whole reason that I left Nevada was because I was being messed with.
- 4:00SPEAKER_03: No, man.
- 4:01SPEAKER_03: I spent$30,000 of my own money fighting an EO suit that went absolutely nowhere because they protect the establishment.
- 4:10SPEAKER_03: That's how it was then.
- 4:13SPEAKER_03: And then the more you begin to pay attention, now people had told me prior to oh, I filed an EO and it went nowhere.
- 4:21SPEAKER_03: And I think I mentioned this on your podcast.
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: You did.
- 4:24SPEAKER_03: I don't know the whole story.
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: That system is there, it's got to protect you.
- 4:29SPEAKER_03: Something has to, you know, something is there to protect you.
- 4:34SPEAKER_03: And obviously, it didn't protect you, so there's something that you're not telling me.
- 4:38SPEAKER_03: And then I went through it myself.
- 4:40SPEAKER_03: And when I went through it myself, I went, How many others?
- 4:45SPEAKER_03: So when they couldn't get to me any other way, they went after my PTSD, which I went through counseling and was released for.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: I went, you gotta be kidding me.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: This is open-shut case.
- 4:57SPEAKER_03: When it didn't happen, I said it will leave.
- 5:00SPEAKER_03: And we left.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: Left a great job.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: And at the time I was mad at the world.
- 5:07SPEAKER_03: Went to Missouri, right outside of Fort Lydenwood, thinking, I'd get another job.
- 5:16SPEAKER_03: That didn't happen.
- 5:17SPEAKER_03: Job opened up here in Kansas, and here we are.
- 5:25SPEAKER_03: Two years I was in Missouri.
- 5:26SPEAKER_03: I worked at Lowe's.
- 5:28SPEAKER_03: I didn't know why.
- 5:29SPEAKER_03: I'd learned when we bought this house why.
- 5:34SPEAKER_03: The studio that we're sitting in right now, I think I flipped in in a weekend.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: You did.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: That's when I knew you were really dedicated to getting this done.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Man, we we drove down to Lowe's and picked up some shiplap, and you're sending me pictures that night, I think, of you working on this room.
- 5:49SPEAKER_03: You know, God has been very great to me, very good, and very has blessed my family, my everyone.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: You know, and here we are.
- 6:03SPEAKER_03: Like I said, I never thought I'd be a city city councilman.
- 6:09SPEAKER_03: And when I ran, I had people, if you ever need anything, I'll be here for you.
- 6:17SPEAKER_03: Oh, you got that smile on your face because you know you know it's going through my head.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: We've had we've talked about this.
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: I'll be there for you.
- 6:25SPEAKER_03: How can I help?
- 6:27SPEAKER_03: That hasn't been the case, you know, and I see such hatred, and that's exactly what it is.
- 6:39SPEAKER_03: Hatred from one side to the other.
- 6:42SPEAKER_03: If you are conservative, how dare you like?
- 6:46SPEAKER_03: How dare you like a Democrat?
- 6:50SPEAKER_03: And if you're a Democrat, how dare you like conservative or a Republican?
- 6:55SPEAKER_03: Is that where we are in the world now?
- 6:58SPEAKER_03: It seems like it.
- 7:02SPEAKER_03: I'm doing a lot of talking.
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: I you know that bothers me, man.
- 7:12SPEAKER_03: And at first, when I first started out, I was learning.
- 7:21SPEAKER_03: And I like to keep my mouth shut and listen and watch.
- 7:28SPEAKER_03: The more I learned, the more it disappointed me.
- 7:34SPEAKER_03: You know, same election, there was a school board election.
- 7:43SPEAKER_03: And there were three conservative women that were running.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: What did they call themselves?
- 7:50SPEAKER_03: The the lionesses.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Lansing Lionesses.
- 7:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:54SPEAKER_03: What a I mean, they were locomotive full of steam.
- 7:59SPEAKER_03: Just it was like nothing could stop them.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: They were doing great things.
- 8:03SPEAKER_03: They were out doing what they were supposed to.
- 8:05SPEAKER_03: I was I was so impressed.
- 8:08SPEAKER_03: And then there was a debate where should I mention, should I mention the name?
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: Your call?
- 8:17SPEAKER_03: There was a debate in which, you know, April Cromer was at the debate.
- 8:29SPEAKER_03: Let me back up.
- 8:31SPEAKER_03: Prior to the debate, this is a person, April Cromer, that I met with and said, we want you to run for city council.
- 8:42SPEAKER_03: We don't like what Dan Clemens is doing.
- 8:48SPEAKER_03: Now, Dan Clemens lived right down the road from me.
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: I knew of him.
- 8:54SPEAKER_03: Hey, how you doing, Dan?
- 8:55SPEAKER_03: I'd wave to him as he passed by, you know, speaking while passing.
- 9:00SPEAKER_03: But never really had a conversation with him.
- 9:04SPEAKER_03: And I thought at the time, no, I'm not.
- 9:07SPEAKER_03: No, I just want to enjoy my family time.
- 9:10SPEAKER_03: I don't want to run for city council, but the more I thought about it, the more I prayed about it.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: I thought, I've got kids growing up in this community.
- 9:19SPEAKER_03: What better way to make sure I'm involved with the positive change that needs to happen in this community than run for city council?
- 9:26SPEAKER_03: So I ran.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: Before I ran.
- 9:32SPEAKER_03: Put my name in.
- 9:33SPEAKER_03: Let me put that.
- 9:34SPEAKER_03: I put my name in to run.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: And we were about to go on vacation.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: And before I went on vacation, I had, I told Steph, I said I have to knock on Dan's door and talk to him.
- 9:42SPEAKER_03: We're about to go on vacation.
- 9:43SPEAKER_03: It was the day we were leaving to go on vacation, and I knocked on his door.
- 9:48SPEAKER_03: And I said, Dan, I'm the guy that put his name in to run against you.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: Said, I think we have the same beliefs.
- 10:00SPEAKER_03: Said the day after the Trump assassination in Pennsylvania.
- 10:11SPEAKER_03: Shortly after there, you flew your flag, I flew mine.
- 10:15SPEAKER_03: Said, I think we believe in the same things.
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: I think it's time for a change.
- 10:28SPEAKER_03: What he said next floored me.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: He said, My wife is sick.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: I'm sick.
- 10:37SPEAKER_03: And if you're willing to sit down and have a conversation with me when you come back, I will step down.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: Now, Chase, I think we've talked about this.
- 10:47SPEAKER_03: You know I've got trust issues, right?
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: We have talked about that.
- 10:53SPEAKER_03: I didn't believe Dan.
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: I'm like, there's no way.
- 10:56SPEAKER_03: This man's a sitting city councilman.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: There's no way he's gonna do that.
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: I will tell you, Dan is a man of his word.
- 11:08SPEAKER_03: And he did exactly what he came back, we sat down, we talked.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: Not only did he back out, he backed me.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: I'll never forget that night that he came out publicly, stood up, and told the local Republican town hall, hey, I just want everyone to know.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Chris Pierce is running for my seat, and he has my full endorsement.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: Like I'll probably, probably not like a loose paraphrase there, but I was there, and I remember thinking, what an honorable moment of the baton passing.
- 11:45SPEAKER_03: I have boosted for.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: Let's explain what that is to people who haven't heard it before.
- 12:10SPEAKER_03: It used to be reinvestment housing incentive district.
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: Um basically it was a program designed to build homes in rural areas in Kansas.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: This is not rural.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: This is city, this is you know, we're to build homes by redirecting property tax dollars to developers.
- 12:41SPEAKER_03: Correct.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: Now back to April, as I began to attend city council meetings because I wanted to make sure I was up on current events, they would her and her husband would show up, they would voice their opinions about their negative opinions about RHID, and always in with a scripture.
- 13:10SPEAKER_03: Now, I'm not against scripture, but I also believe there's a time and a place.
- 13:16SPEAKER_03: And if I come to a city council meeting or I come to a county commission meeting, and I go, you are so bad, you suck so bad, God bless you.
- 13:30SPEAKER_03: That's just that's not the time or place, man.
- 13:33SPEAKER_03: I'm you know, I it and it it rubbed me the wrong way.
- 13:37SPEAKER_03: And you know I'm a man of faith.
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: But I was like, what are we doing here?
- 13:43SPEAKER_03: So the more I went along, and the more I saw, I'm like, I'm not like I wow.
- 14:00SPEAKER_03: So shortly after, and before the election, there was a town hall meeting where they had a debate, a discussion, and the person on the opposite side of her basically handed her her book.
- 14:20SPEAKER_03: And when I say that, I'm trying to be nice.
- 14:26SPEAKER_03: Pat Proctor said, Hey, if you don't want it in your town, just say you don't want it in your town.
- 14:34SPEAKER_03: And her husband from the audience, I don't want it in my town.
- 14:37SPEAKER_03: He went, there you have it.
- 14:39SPEAKER_03: And I went, I can't believe that just happened.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: You don't want it in your backyard.
- 14:47SPEAKER_03: They the where they wanted to build the houses were close to them, they didn't want it in their backyard, and I went, that was a brilliant move.
- 14:59SPEAKER_03: He got them to say the quiet part out loud.
- 15:05SPEAKER_03: I think it was the next week in the Left and Worth Crimes Leaving Worth Times, she dropped out of the race.
- 15:19SPEAKER_03: And I called it Left and Worth Crimes because they very rarely they're very one-sided.
- 15:30SPEAKER_03: If you say they're not, you're wrong.
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they they tend to it's your right, it's your paper, I get it.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: But anyway, there's a reason I've never subscribed.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: I need I I did at first, and now I don't.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: You know, I don't I don't like pay paying people to come into my house and insult me.
- 15:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, there you go.
- 15:51SPEAKER_03: That's a great way of putting that.
- 15:56SPEAKER_03: You dropped out of the race for the school board.
- 16:03SPEAKER_03: What are they gonna do now?
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: Ask the question.
- 16:08SPEAKER_03: What are you gonna do now?
- 16:11SPEAKER_03: We're just gonna continue to run as if she's still on the ticket.
- 16:15SPEAKER_03: And I said to myself, that is the worst plan ever.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: Politicians are supposed to be transparent, up front.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: No lies.
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: That's a lie.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: We're gonna just like she's on shame.
- 16:35SPEAKER_03: Shame on you guys.
- 16:37SPEAKER_03: And I've never said that, I said it to my wife, I think I said it to you, but I've never said that like out loud.
- 16:45SPEAKER_03: That pissed people off.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: People talked to me, and people were like, that's no, I I can't vote for any of them if that's the route they're going to go.
- 16:54SPEAKER_03: And I said, we will get together, we will put duct tape over, we will let nope.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: I can tell you there's some duct tape used to my yard sign.
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: That's what should have happened, and it didn't.
- 17:10SPEAKER_03: And it's passed an opening.
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: Or the results have been disastrous.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: It was horrible.
- 17:21SPEAKER_03: Now I can't tell you how many times I've heard the community has spoken.
- 17:31SPEAKER_03: Shut up.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: No, there were people that could not vote in good conscience, rightfully so, because of what happened.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: One of the school board members at the time that did not get re-elected is now running for state school board.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: I walked into a council meeting after she announced her candidacy.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: Oh, somebody that bankrupted the school.
- 18:10SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna run for state school board and looked at me.
- 18:15SPEAKER_03: The city councilman.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, of course.
- 18:18SPEAKER_03: Are you trying to get a rise out of me?
- 18:20SPEAKER_03: It's not gonna work.
- 18:23SPEAKER_03: I've heard other people say, how did somebody that got voted off?
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: The city has spoken, the community has spoken.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: We don't want you on the school board.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: The reason they lost was April Cromer.
- 18:37SPEAKER_03: Are we clear?
- 18:38SPEAKER_03: Now look in the camera.
- 18:40SPEAKER_03: The reason they lost was April Cromer.
- 18:45SPEAKER_03: And then after someone did something like that, you want to stick around like glitter after a craft show.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: Come on, bro.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: Like if you're gonna be gone, be gone.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: Don't stick around and try to influence politics and posting stuff online about people and current situations.
- 19:10SPEAKER_03: Like, I'm not listening to you.
- 19:12SPEAKER_03: And I sh no one else should listen to you.
- 19:16SPEAKER_03: Because what you did was wrong.
- 19:20SPEAKER_03: And this is a podcast about calling out wrong.
- 19:24SPEAKER_03: I'll say the quiet things out loud as I look right into the camera.
- 19:32SPEAKER_03: Man.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: And that's what I love about you, Chris.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: You know, we we got a lot of things that we share in a lot of areas that we're different.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: We're both military veterans, both served over 20 years, career military men, enlisted, commissioned, NCO, officer, navy, army, black, white.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: We are a spread on the demographic chart.
- 19:59SPEAKER_03: No, you say that, and my wife goes.
- 20:02SPEAKER_03: I had a friend tell me, I didn't know you were black until you told me.
- 20:06SPEAKER_03: Well, I am, you know, and that's how I that's how I grew up.
- 20:10SPEAKER_03: You know, I might be light-skinned, American, Indian, black, mixed.
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: I, you know, it doesn't matter.
- 20:18SPEAKER_03: The fact, what does matter is I come from a different background than you.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: You come from a different background than me.
- 20:29SPEAKER_03: I did jail time before I joined the military.
- 20:32SPEAKER_03: I went to jail after I was in the military.
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: Las Vegas.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:40SPEAKER_03: Um it was a it was for 24 hours.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: And it was not one of my, yeah.
- 20:48SPEAKER_03: But still, you know, at that point, you you think you'd learn.
- 20:51SPEAKER_03: I didn't.
- 20:53SPEAKER_03: I almost got kicked out of the military, but I had some great mentors.
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: And the last the podcast that I was on, I was on with you.
- 21:05SPEAKER_03: I talked about John Wayne Baldwin.
- 21:07SPEAKER_03: Real name, by the way.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: That's an awesome name, by the way.
- 21:10SPEAKER_03: John Wayne Baldwin.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: He should write his parents a thank you note for that.
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: I should write his parents a thank you note.
- 21:16SPEAKER_03: But he sat me down and said, you don't get to choose when to be a role model.
- 21:19SPEAKER_03: You're one 24 hours a day.
- 21:21SPEAKER_03: You're the leader of the boarding team.
- 21:22SPEAKER_03: You are, you know, and this was a night after hard drinking and partying with my team guys.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: And speaking of, you know, team and team stuff, this flag behind me.
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: There's a reason that I I chose this flag and the Jolly Roger.
- 21:40SPEAKER_03: Somebody told me, oh, you might be ready to stand by to defend that flag.
- 21:45SPEAKER_03: Why?
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: You wouldn't need to defend that flag if it uh had a few more colors in it.
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: Oh, you mean the rainbow flag?
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that one.
- 21:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that one.
- 21:54SPEAKER_03: Now, oh man, you accepted with open arms.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: Or or if you had three big letters in it.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Hmm.
- 22:02SPEAKER_03: The reason that this flag is flying is because it's earned.
- 22:06SPEAKER_03: Whether I agree with it or not, now during the time I was we were, you know, we boarded ships when they didn't want to be boarded.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: A lot of times, most of the times, it was in the dark, darkness of night.
- 22:21SPEAKER_03: 12, 1, 2, 3, 4 o'clock in the morning, cutting holes in the sides of ships.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: Basically, we were pirates.
- 22:32SPEAKER_03: And, you know, we seized ships most of the time carrying oars.
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: These were huge tankers that we seized.
- 22:44SPEAKER_03: And the Jolly Roger goes all the way back to the 1800s.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: When they would fly the Jolly Roger, the black flag, and say, here's your chance.
- 22:59SPEAKER_03: Here's your chance.
- 23:01SPEAKER_03: Do the right thing.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Be good.
- 23:06SPEAKER_03: Be good at it.
- 23:09SPEAKER_03: Because when the red flag is flown, there's no mercy.
- 23:15SPEAKER_03: We're coming for you.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: We're gonna talk about it.
- 23:18SPEAKER_03: We're gonna say the quiet things out loud.
- 23:23SPEAKER_03: So I chose that flag behind me because I earned it a long time ago.
- 23:27SPEAKER_03: Every time we would take down a vessel, boom, another Jolly Roger.
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: So anybody who wants to question me, what I did in the military, why I fly that flag, bring it.
- 23:47SPEAKER_03: And when I mess up, correct me.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: That first time that we recorded, ever in Smithville, uh, the Herzog Foundation for the Finding Your Spine podcast, which I am just so grateful to get to do and still do and partner with them.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: And seeing the passion in your eyes.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: And that's something that I knew would connect us automatically because we we had this titled continuing the watch.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: That means something.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: We both left the military.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: We didn't leave wanting to serve the nation.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: We didn't leave wanting to fight to pass the baton of liberty.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Like that's why I talk about on my other show all the time is you've got to man up, Christian men.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: You've got to man up.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: You've got to you gotta start wringing your hands, and you gotta stop with the woe is me, and you gotta stop with all this silly, weak, petulant woe is us.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: It's so bad.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: We don't know how to do anything about it.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: You have agency, you have divine mandate.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: Samson stood when he was called, Abraham stood when he was called, George Washington stood when he was called.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Great men passed the baton.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: We history would never forgive us, and I and God would hold us severely accountable if we didn't stand.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: And that's that's why we label this continuing the watch.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: Because someone still has to walk the wall.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: Someone still has to walk the watch, someone still has to be watching out for those who want to take the nation down, who want to undo ordered liberty, who who want to take away the American dream.
- 26:10SPEAKER_03: It's funny you it's funny you mentioned that.
- 26:12SPEAKER_03: I'm still getting used to this mic, by the way.
- 26:15SPEAKER_03: Me too.
- 26:16SPEAKER_03: It's funny you mentioned the nation.
- 26:18SPEAKER_03: And I'll go back to 2013.
- 26:24SPEAKER_03: 2013, I had a guy in my office.
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: Just told this story today, so it's like very fresh in my mind.
- 26:34SPEAKER_03: The way he ended up in my office, he was changing tires.
- 26:39SPEAKER_03: Like he came to Nevada on a general billet, and they put him in the auto hobby shop, changing tires.
- 26:48SPEAKER_03: So, Army, your command sergeant major, it's equal to like our command master chief.
- 26:55SPEAKER_03: Man, Master Chief shows up and he's got like a couple people with him.
- 26:59SPEAKER_03: Hey, Sailor, how are you doing today?
- 27:04SPEAKER_03: Master Chief, you want me to tell you the truth or you want me to blow smoke up your ass?
- 27:08SPEAKER_03: I can't say, yeah, I can say this is my podcast.
- 27:10SPEAKER_03: Not your podcast.
- 27:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:13SPEAKER_03: He said, I'm sorry, what'd you say?
- 27:16SPEAKER_03: You want me to tell you the truth, or you want me to blow smoke up your ass?
- 27:20SPEAKER_03: Tell me the truth, Sailor.
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: He goes, I'm an E6 changing tires at an Auto Hobby Shop.
- 27:28SPEAKER_03: My career's done.
- 27:30SPEAKER_03: So he ended up in my office.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: One of the smartest guys, he's now retired.
- 27:37SPEAKER_03: He just retired recently.
- 27:39SPEAKER_03: One of the smartest guys I've been around, man.
- 27:41SPEAKER_03: And he goes, Do you know what's going on in England right now?
- 27:49SPEAKER_03: What are you talking about, bro?
- 27:51SPEAKER_03: England.
- 27:52SPEAKER_03: There are places in England where the police won't go.
- 27:56SPEAKER_03: Why?
- 27:59SPEAKER_03: Muslims have taken over.
- 28:03SPEAKER_03: Shut up, man.
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: Oh boy.
- 28:09SPEAKER_03: This is the stuff that they're not talking about.
- 28:14SPEAKER_03: This is the stuff they don't want to talk about right now, today in 2026.
- 28:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, man, we need to wake up.
- 28:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, you're Islamophobe.
- 28:28SPEAKER_03: Nope.
- 28:29SPEAKER_03: I'm an American.
- 28:32SPEAKER_03: And I fought to make sure that this country would remain the country that I want my kids to grow up in.
- 28:42SPEAKER_03: And it is time for other people to wake up and start standing that damn watch that we stood.
- 28:51SPEAKER_03: And I'm calling you out right now.
- 28:54SPEAKER_03: Just like you're calling people out, you can't sit by and not pay attention to this.
- 29:02SPEAKER_03: And this is one of these podcasts where, like, you know, you have some other people that have podcasts in this in this area.
- 29:10SPEAKER_03: I'm here for everyone.
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: I want to please, I want to reach out.
- 29:14SPEAKER_03: I don't I don't care.
- 29:16SPEAKER_03: If I piss you off, I'm gonna piss you off.
- 29:18SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna say what needs to be said, and I will tell you there was something that happened recently that came that came to us.
- 29:35SPEAKER_03: And like, I'm like, why don't people want to pronounce his name?
- 29:41SPEAKER_03: Because it was not a it wasn't Chase.
- 29:45SPEAKER_03: Chase wasn't hi Chase, hi Chris.
- 29:49SPEAKER_03: It wasn't that type of name.
- 29:51SPEAKER_03: You following me?
- 29:52SPEAKER_03: Yep, I'm there.
- 29:54SPEAKER_03: Why didn't you why didn't we want to mention the guy's first and last name?
- 29:57SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, come on now, we can do better than that.
- 30:01SPEAKER_03: And when we start not wanting to say the quiet things out loud, man, that's gonna be great.
- 30:08SPEAKER_03: So we've lost.
- 30:14SPEAKER_03: And now you have places here in the United States that police officers don't want to enforce the laws.
- 30:29SPEAKER_03: You have places in Texas Texas As it turns out apparently you can mess with Texas.
- 30:44SPEAKER_03: Texas, man.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:51SPEAKER_03: And someone asked me, why do you need guns?
- 30:59SPEAKER_03: Why do you need an assault rifle?
- 31:02SPEAKER_03: And my reply was simple.
- 31:06SPEAKER_03: If it ever gets to that point, you'll be glad I'm on your side.
- 31:12SPEAKER_03: And I hope that we wake up prior to it getting to that point.
- 31:19SPEAKER_03: But man, I've seen stuff, I've seen country you've seen stuff overseas.
- 31:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:26SPEAKER_03: Where people like rise up, and we're not far from it.
- 31:34SPEAKER_03: And I don't think a lot of people realize that.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: We do not want to see the things that were routine occurrence in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: The list could go on and on and on and on.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: We don't want that stuff here.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: And what people fail to understand the the history of the world, the natural condition of the world in the post-genesis 3 construct in which Adam and Eve sinned, and sin entered the world, and the world was placed under the curse.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: In that realm, in that reality, in that paradigm, which is not the paradigm God originally created.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: God created perfection and he's going to restore it one day.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: But right now, we're in that Genesis 3 paradigm.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: And in that paradigm, the world is chaotic.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: In that paradigm, the strongest rule.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: In that paradigm, might makes right.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: In that paradigm, there is no equality of humanity.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: People are not all created in the image of God, endowed with certain inalienable rights.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: In that paradigm, it's chaos, it's evil, it's bloodshed.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: And we, when you if you can imagine like just me stretching out my arms as wide as possible, the whole width of the of the frame here, it's the course of human history.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: And the tip of this pin is that little piece of time that the West has existed.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: And smaller than that, that the United States of America has existed.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: And we had have this thing called ordered liberty.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: Not outright liberty, not because that's chaos.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: Ordered liberty, lawfully governed liberty.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: To keep men in check.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: And it's been a blessing, and it has provided stability, and it has been the bedrock on which this nation was built.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: It is the bedrock on which we even had the freedom to do this because most nations around the world, you can't do this.
- 33:41SPEAKER_03: True.
- 33:42SPEAKER_03: Very true.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: And we have allowed weak men to create hard times.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: There's a saying weak men create hard times.
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: Hard times create strong men.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: Strong men create good times.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: It's a cycle.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: And we're in we're we're kind of at the bottom of that cycle right now.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: We've had weak men who have enjoyed good times, the the post-World War II consensus.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: And we've had a society that has become lazy, that has become decadent, that has not just forgotten God, but has spat in his face.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: It's history repeating itself.
- 34:24SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: And we've seen this before, over and over and over again.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: And for some strange reason, because human beings are human beings, and when you read history, you see this repeating over and over and over again.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, read the book of Judges.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: I mean that that you can get through that very quickly.
- 34:41SPEAKER_01: 22 chapters, uh, very fast read, and it is it's literally the same story as what we're going through right now.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: And we've accepted this culture of inevitability.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: And it, I'm done with it, Chris.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: I'm done with it.
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: Stick a fork in me.
- 34:56SPEAKER_01: I'm done with it.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: This culture of inevitable decline, this culture of inevitable bad times, this culture of, well, inevitably we won't be able to say things like two and two equals four.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: Inevitably, Orwell must be the prophet of what will come.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: We must just accept it.
- 35:13SPEAKER_01: It's inevitable because it's just the way it is.
- 35:16SPEAKER_01: Why is it that way?
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: Because good men have been lazy.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: I had I had a guy come up to me at church the other day, and uh he's frustrated at the political process, and he knows that I follow these things and I write on them and I think on them and I speak on them.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: And and he said, he was just complimenting to me, and he was frustrated about things.
- 35:41SPEAKER_01: And he made a comment of uh I'm debating whether it's even worth voting anymore.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: That's a bad place to be.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: It's a bad place to be.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: And his son was standing just a couple feet off.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: And uh, and I looked at him, I said, You don't get that right.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: You you have no right to do that.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: You have no right to abandon your stewardship responsibility.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: You have no right.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: That torch was handed to you, and you must hand it to him.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: You're a man, you're a husband, you're a father, you're a man, you're a man in church, you're a Christian.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: You have no right to be like, I'll just throw my hands up and give up.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: No, we don't get that option, we don't get that luxury.
- 36:28SPEAKER_03: I'll take it one step further.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: My mom was one of the first to go to college in our family.
- 36:36SPEAKER_03: She went to college on a United Negro College Fund scholarship.
- 36:42SPEAKER_03: Also, shortly, you know, before the right to vote, you know, came along that time frame.
- 36:52SPEAKER_03: And now you have people, you have blacks, you have whites, you have people in general that are like my vote doesn't matter.
- 37:02SPEAKER_03: I'm not going to vote.
- 37:04SPEAKER_03: That is a bad place to be in society.
- 37:08SPEAKER_03: These were things that were fought for, these were things that people died for to make sure that we have that right, and those rights I will fight for to make sure that we keep them.
- 37:28SPEAKER_03: And this is fighting right here.
- 37:32SPEAKER_03: This is fighting the idea space.
- 37:35SPEAKER_03: This is fighting to make sure that people understand that we won't be quiet, we can't be quiet, and we need to influence others not to remain silent.
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, great point.
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: It all comes down to what do you love?
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: And and and for me, it's in this order.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm a child of God.
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: And I am I'm tasked by him to love and protect and provide for my family and to be involved where he has planted me.
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: And every Christian has a calling.
- 38:17unknown: Right.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: If you're if you're gifted in mechanics, turn that wrench to the glory of God.
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: If you're gifted in software design, design that software to the glory of God.
- 38:25SPEAKER_01: If you're gifted as a rhetor, use communicative talents to the glory of God.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: Preserve what is true, preserve what is right, preserve what is beautiful, fight against the orcs.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: This is why I love the writings of J.R.R.
- 38:39SPEAKER_01: Tolkien, Lord of the Rings.
- 38:42SPEAKER_01: And he so got that.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: And he was himself a World War I veteran.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: And uh a lot of what he saw and observed in the war, you can you can see reflections in his writings, the orcs, the hobbits, who they are on the battlefield.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: And he got that, and he just in the realm of fiction, with near perfection, captured what this is all about.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: He recognized the truth that evil will always try, and it is held at bay by the grace of God and the willingness of godly men and women to stand and to push back and to say, you may have rolled this far, but you will roll no farther.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: The 82nd Airborne Division used to have this wonderful poster on it.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: Uh some paraphrasing here to the best of my ability.
- 39:44SPEAKER_01: It was, you know, a paratrooper standing there uh with the woods in the background, and and he says, I'm the 82nd airborne, and this is as far as the bastards are going.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: And I think how applicable that is to real life.
- 40:00SPEAKER_01: That should be the attitude of every Christian, every, even if you're not a Christian, but you're constitutionally minded and you love ordered liberty, there are there are a lot of people out there who would never darken the door of a church, but they sure do enjoy them some cultural Christianity.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: They sure do enjoy the freedoms they've had in the West that came from Christendom.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: And every one of them need and us need to have that attitude of you you may roll up to my street, to my driveway, but you will roll no further.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: And we will push you back, we will push you back.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: And that's that's the beauty of uh the story, the way Tolkien wrote it.
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, it looks completely inevitable.
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: You know, Sauron is going to take over the whole world, and evil is on the march, but for two hobbits.
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: But for two hobbits that refuse to give up and and and climb through literal hellscape to throw the ring in the volcano.
- 40:59SPEAKER_03: You know, I've never seen the Lord of Rings.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: All right, so that's something we're gonna have to watch on a soon coming weekend.
- 41:05SPEAKER_03: I'm just saying.
- 41:06SPEAKER_03: Never seen it, ever read the books.
- 41:08SPEAKER_03: Well, I I I do read, I just never did.
- 41:13SPEAKER_03: So I'll take your word for it.
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I've never I'm gonna make you an addict.
- 41:18SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh, here we go.
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: You're gonna be coming to the Tolkien Society with me before it's ever with.
- 41:23SPEAKER_03: Like I said before, you have a certain following.
- 41:27SPEAKER_03: I will have a certain following.
- 41:29SPEAKER_03: We bridge that gap between the two.
- 41:34SPEAKER_03: You know, you know, that's a funky bridge right there.
- 41:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was what did you say on the podcast?
- 41:41SPEAKER_03: Or no, was it a podcast?
- 41:43SPEAKER_03: You said something.
- 41:45SPEAKER_03: Oh man, I can't remember it.
- 41:48SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Chase, I'm telling you, man, people are not gonna know what you're talking about.
- 41:53SPEAKER_03: I can't remember what it was, but I was like, oh gosh, I wish I could remember it now.
- 41:58SPEAKER_03: But that's you know, that's why we click, man.
- 42:02SPEAKER_03: You know, and we're very honest with each other, you know, it goes both ways.
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: Um, you know, you talked about the 82nd Airborne, you know, you're prior army, I'm prior navy.
- 42:18SPEAKER_03: Kind of scares me, you know, where we are right now with recruitment retention.
- 42:27SPEAKER_03: You know, I've heard that we are, you know, we're meeting all of our goals.
- 42:34SPEAKER_03: Are we are we meeting all of our goals?
- 42:38SPEAKER_03: Are we recruiting the best and the brightest?
- 42:44SPEAKER_03: If we had to go to war, would we be ready?
- 42:49SPEAKER_03: Because I will tell you when I got out, and I'm still affiliated with some of the things I see scare me.
- 42:58SPEAKER_03: And I'll just leave it at that.
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: I have a lot of people come up to me um at certain events and and I'm a veteran, and I'll say things like, Oh man, isn't it great?
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: Pete Heggseth took charge of Pen Gon and fixed everything, and recruiting's fixed, and all the wokes out of the Department of War, and and and it's it's all great.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: And uh and I'm a I'm I'm a fan of Secretary Hegeseth, so I I try not to lay too much criticism at his feet, but but no one is above uh some criticism.
- 43:35SPEAKER_01: And I tell him, I said, um, yeah, things are way better than they were.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: But if you think it's fixed, this is the largest organization in the world, the Department of War.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: It it masters in delaying commands.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: I mean, even from presidents.
- 43:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, pres multi generations of presidents, including President Obama, expressed president.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: frustration.
- 44:01SPEAKER_01: Every man, I'm getting getting played by the military, or I'm getting delayed by the military, or giving them orders, but they're finding they're finding ways to drag their feet.
- 44:09SPEAKER_01: You know, the the the military excels in bureaucracy.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: It almost functions almost like a quasi-independent nation state in some ways.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: And a lot of people don't understand that because they they just see the movies and and orders passed down and it's a it's a very top-down organization.
- 44:26SPEAKER_01: And they don't understand the reality of it.
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: And I and that's one of the reasons I try to continue ringing ringing the bell in my other work is people need to be involved in their military policy.
- 44:37SPEAKER_01: They need to know what's going on.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: They need to pay some attention to it because the presumption is inaccurate.
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: And our our founders a lot of people don't know this.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: Our founders did not want a large standing military.
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: They were wary of it, called it a threat to liberty.
- 44:57SPEAKER_01: That's why throughout most of American history like after they built an army for war and then they collapsed the thing down to bare bones at the end of the war.
- 45:04SPEAKER_03: And that was they didn't want it to take over the people.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 45:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah exactly that's a lesson we forgot.
- 45:12SPEAKER_03: You know and yes enlisted yes officer but I feel like if you're going to run for office if you're going to be in office if you're going to be affiliated with people like I know you do your homework.
- 45:30SPEAKER_03: You know I do my homework I have a constitution that sits on my desk it is it is it is beaten you know and I wonder how many people know and I'm not going to say it here but I wonder how many people know how many people signed both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution like that's the thing you know um that's stuff that people children should be learning in school and recently someone wanted to hand out pocket constitutions at the school and was denied to hand out constitutions at the school because you're conservative you're Republican you have different views than we have and I would tell you the school board now is completely not completely we have one we have one one person on the school board that isn't liberal progressive correct better yeah so I don't know how she does it completely outnumbered but I even spoke at the school board I'm like listen like you're bigger than this should be I thought these are the same pocket constitutions that are handed out at the Capitol same ones these constitutions have been handed out in millions of copies throughout Kansas at schools but because a certain individual wanted to hand them out here it was denied after it was initially accepted after it was initially accepted because it was a bad look in the eyes of one side and I spoke and I said I'm not here as a city council but I will tell you something I will tell you this thing that happened I had people come to me what are you going to do about those books in the library and knew exactly what they were talking about.
- 48:05SPEAKER_03: They were talking about the pride section they were talking about you know the you even said something to me about I did what are you going to do about them books Chris yeah and I went said he funds it I said you know and I had another person that was like why do we elect you I said watch your mouth I said it was a public I mean you know tax dollars whether I agree with it or not some people want them and I'm a voice for the people I know that's a crappy place to be but it's a crappy place to be and there were other people that brought this up to me on the council and I said the same thing I was like oh I'm so glad you're thinking like I am I'm like yeah that's because I have to put people over sides and that's you know I can't believe that they did that I can't believe that it get it didn't get more traction that it should have let you know what it did gave them more fuel what else can we get away with oh if you want to make comments at a school board it has to be approved by the board president or the board or and you have to have those in 24 hours prior to or something like that.
- 49:45SPEAKER_03: I'm paraphrasing I'm not I'm not 100% sure now they were going to talk about that Monday at the school board but it got table to a work session or something next Tuesday I'll be there I'll be there because you know you're one step away and I don't care if they somebody told me well they do it at other schools in the in districts and can't I don't care you're one step away from hey comrade you're one step away from communism that's the kind of stuff that's practiced in communist countries.
- 50:22SPEAKER_01: I I was thinking about that because I was watching that as closely as were you and uh I'm I'm glad it got tabled it should have been killed.
- 50:30SPEAKER_01: Should have been right that shouldn't even be up for a negotiation and I thought to myself on the 250th anniversary after after that just weeks ago they said well you can't bring pocket constitutions in the schools so of of course it makes sense that they would consider oh well let's put up policy that that restricts the right of the public to come before a taxing authority and speak.
- 50:56SPEAKER_01: And that's that's why I don't use the term liberal anymore.
- 50:59SPEAKER_01: Like Bill Maher is like the last standing class of a liberal it's progressivism now.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: There's a difference since we're on the school board topic I if I hear I'm about to blow my gasket if I hear well if the bond would have passed well bond failed so it did fail the community did speak and I hope I'm nice and loud and clear when I say this the community spoke enough was enough and instead of the whoo instead of the board going we might need to look at ourselves we might need to look where we can cut one of the first things they cut was the emergency preparedness office that's a guy I I don't I I don't know what was it something that I feel like we can do the job better ourselves can you I I don't know but I will tell you there's some other things I feel that you could look at I was one of the people that voted no like for our our budget yes I gave compliments great job on but great great presentation but we're two thousand I'm sorry two hundred thousand dollars away from revenue neutral until we could we can trim some fat sometimes and don't you don't understand the way budgets you don't understand the way brother I've been debt free since 2016 don't tell me I don't know a thing or two about budgets and living within my means I know exactly how to live within my means and I owe a lot of that to Stephanie I'm I'm glad she's not in here oh you know about no no she she's the one that's like no we need no no no I want that money no no she's the one that's like no we need to live within our means and we have sometimes you have to do the hard things and what kills me is I don't care how many public comments in the Lance and connection I don't care how many comments I put in the paper I don't care how many public comments I say like on from the diet say I am so proud of this department or this department for the first time you say we might need to look at cutting here or yes I went after the golf course zoning department for not talking about the busted out windows on the golf course well you upset some people in the city and you got some you got some repair relationships to repair no I don't no I don't that's not how this works you do what you're supposed to do or you get called out there's another story you told me recently about another person trying to tell you oh we don't we don't do that here man this is this is the CP this is CP1's podcast we don't go another bird's talk who I'll let you name what what person you have to refresh my memory where were we talking you had a phone call telling you about who you need goodness gracious let's go there oh yeah so I mentioned to someone I I you know you said some things I didn't like and I heard somebody else on another commission say the same thing and it bothered me well we get this person in can we run them and I said is that what you thought you were going to do with me oh you got the wrong guy no one runs Chris I can't be bought I can't no no what are you gonna do bring up my past I think I already did that with you I mean skeletons good luck I told someone else that's the best you could do that's the person you chose to replace you so I contacted someone in Topeka you know woo and I just said we don't do that here we don't let's go you know I don't do race I content of my character not the color of my skin and if anyone was like oh man come on you got I there was one time in Nevada you have got to let them know we have arrived you are senior man you better get out of my face with that I don't do that my kids will never do that I don't do that I was an E5 in the military that stood in front of a commanding officer and he said with this decision I'm about to make you can be on the streets of Honolulu tonight as a civilian and I went and I teared up and he went that's what I wanted to see you still care I'll keep you in the Navy that's how I stayed in the Navy and then I met John Wayne Baldwin I made he six and then I put on chief and I don't know if you know but like chief making chief in the Navy is huge.
- 56:58SPEAKER_03: It's amazing yeah it's huge it's huge that's one of the things I love about the Navy is like they still get senior NCO culture listen man here I am a chief I'm at my last command and this guy goes and I'll get back I'll get back to the whole like the trust me what did what did Trump say I'm weaving right now all right best we've ever I won't do the imitation stuff hates me but yeah so do you do a Trump imitation I'm not doing it right now you're not getting me to do it come on no oh gosh so here I am a chief and this guy goes so and so in sale of the quarter and I went we talking about the same guy because the guy you're talking about needs a haircut he needs a shave his uniform looks like shit and his shoes aren't shiny well you don't worry about that you I mean let me take care of it I go no I'm not doing that and like we're in cubicles man I go if you want to put him for if you want to put him in a for sale in a quarter you write that shit and people beginning to come up like a little cubicle and like it's a master is this really happening and like this is a master chief I'm talking to like you just don't do that you sure you want to do that oh I know what you oh you think like if I go against you I'm not gonna make senior chief man I'm not supposed to be here I was never supposed to be here I was an E5 that almost got kicked out and now I'm a chief you know what that means I take care of my people the person that deserves the sale of the quarter I will put that person in all day that same person that I wanted to put in for sale of the quarter ended up putting an LDO package and went you all call it T D U I we call it TAD in the Navy he went TAD to Kuwait on an IA individual augmentation to Kuwait he was in Kuwait and he calls me up I'm coming back I'm gonna kill everybody I'm okay first of all you can't say that like we're on a line you like what is going on they lost my LDO package sorry what now you know I know who did it tell me man tell me what to do I redid his LDO package myself he retired as a lieutenant commander I'm never I want I'm not supposed to be here chase and here I am I could care less about going any higher I'm not gonna kiss anybody's ass I am I'm who I am I'm the person that's sitting next to you the person that you decided to partner up with to be on a podcast I have been teased not teased it came after me and my family and my PTSD and I'm still standing what what you got bro I am not apologizing to a county commissioner I'm not apologizing to a House of Representative person I because I told you what you needed to hear get out of here whom shall I fear God that's it God that's it and if you ain't God well Stephanie I don't want to gear cross size of her no like I I fear Stephanie she's not even five foot tall man but yeah like yeah but for real God and I told I talked about Tim on the first podcast and I he doesn't mind me telling the story.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_01: Gosh he's told a story more than I have Tim recently got stabbed in the chest and by his wife alcohol July 4th and like he he he was in the hospital like I see you he was in the hospital until almost the end of August and he came out and I'm like of course I'm like you're not drinking that right I'm like and like no well I'm like oh my gosh how how are you drinking like come on man like at some point you have to stop and I had a conversation with him today and he was like yeah you know I want to get a divorce I still love her and I want to be with her but I want a divorce and I'm like it wasn't me Chase it wasn't me when I say it wasn't me this came out of my mouth and I was like oh how were you with God man how were you with God I said because I don't think like you're looking at the root cause I will tell you I'm here because of God my wife is my best friend and I have a wonderful relationship with my kids everything else is a freaking bonus I got once again I got goosebumps I bring it man bring it and that's what we're gonna be doing on this podcast is is bringing truth bringing the hard conversations bringing the things that people don't want to say out loud but they know they need to be said why not not because it's bravado not because it drives clicks not because it's fun for a couple guys to do behind a microphone but because it heals because it gets people to discuss it gets people to be willing to take on some of these harder problems our our ancestors our founders they knew how to have hard conversations and and we we had this the this kind of silly far removed notion of these guys you know with uh you know pasty faces and wigs who dressed funny compared to what we do now and and we assume everyone just got along man they they those dudes fought it was like House of Commons in Britain but they but they had the hard conversations and that's how they shaped this nation like we have an obligation to carry in that tradition we'll get there one way or another by the grace of God we've been gone for a while we should probably wrap this one up next topic will be interesting just like this one.
