- 0:00Alright, guys, ready. Yes, Sir.
- 0:03About About Bound Bangor management fantasy hockey
- 0:05podcast. Woo woo woo.
- 0:10How are y'all doing today? Fantastic.
- 0:15Pump it up. You gotta pump it.
- 0:18No, I'm just, I'm just happy because my guys are starting to
- 0:20get healthy, but other guys are getting hurt.
- 0:22So it's just kind of like a little cycle, but it keeps you
- 0:25on my toes, you know? Do you ever think that maybe
- 0:28you're the problem? I think he's the problem for me.
- 0:32I rather too many good players on my team that they all want to
- 0:35get hurt like it's not fair. Yeah, honestly, you, you drafted
- 0:39such a wagon and and now the wagon.
- 0:42Has and then the guys that pick up to replace my wagon become
- 0:45wagons and then they also die. Yeah, not not real dive, but
- 0:51like like fantasy, die and dream.
- 0:54Just this last week I lost Ricard Raquel and Zach Benson,
- 0:58who had picked up to replace Josh Norris and Brady Kuchuk and
- 1:02Trocheck. So anyways.
- 1:03Yeah, so if you don't know already, welcome into Bangor
- 1:07Management Fantasy Hockey Podcast with Jake, Josh and very
- 1:12sad yet keeping it together admirably, Kevin.
- 1:15Admirably is a good word. Admirably.
- 1:17I've been I've been taking up all the room in the discord,
- 1:20Discord channel that's like about depression for her fantasy
- 1:24team or just go to. The channel just so he could
- 1:26vent. Literally.
- 1:28I was so wrong. I thought Josh was gonna be
- 1:30there the most, but it's it's Kevin.
- 1:32Kevin is like. Totally the one Matthew only
- 1:36gonna 4.9 against me, 4 points. He had one point this season I
- 1:40played against him. He gets a goal and three
- 1:42assists. Matthew Olivier, the enforcer.
- 1:46Matthew Olivier. Anyways, that's it.
- 1:48That's it. So he could be a sell high, but
- 1:51spoiler alert, he's not on today's episode, which is the
- 1:55week 5 buy low sell high trade targets episode.
- 1:58One of our favorites, probably my actual favorite.
- 2:01So stay tuned for some great content.

- 2:13link tree, which is in the podcast description.
- 2:15OK, so today we're adding a new segment to this episode, which I
- 2:19think is really helpful. It's basically reviewing our buy
- 2:23low, sell high recommendations from two weeks prior to see how
- 2:26we did. Yep.
- 2:29And we'll give context to these guys as well and be like, are
- 2:31they still buy low? Are they still sell high or are?
- 2:33They Yeah. We reevaluate.
- 2:36So let's dive into our two weeks ago update.
- 2:39So first by low from 2 weeks ago was Darcy Kemper.
- 2:42Since then he's played five games, won three of them, has a
- 2:462.49 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
- 2:50Let's just say that the buy low window has probably closed at
- 2:54this point. But at the time he had it was
- 2:56off to an awful start. He was injured and just nothing
- 3:00was going right for him. So this was, you know, one of
- 3:03those classic just pat ourselves on the back and hope that our
- 3:05viewers took advantage, right? If you needed a goalie, I think
- 3:08he's gonna be hovering around the top 10 goalie for the rest
- 3:11of the season. Obviously he's, it was amazing
- 3:15last year and I think we're already seeing that he's, you
- 3:17know, coming back to form as the Kings start to be good again.
- 3:20And for a stretch of that, Kopitar was out.
- 3:22And you know, we don't love Peter fantasy necessarily, but
- 3:26IRL he's a huge part of their team's success.
- 3:28So I'm just expecting more good things from Kemper moving.
- 3:31Forward and they got Corey Perry back, who's like this second.
- 3:35Coming stop scoring. Exactly.
- 3:37Yeah. So yeah, no.
- 3:39Scory, Perry. Exactly.
- 3:41All right. Next we had OK, I remember this
- 3:43now. This was the the all of us
- 3:45choosing guys on our own team as Billows in the first in the
- 3:48first segment. Now we've got our Tammy Panarin
- 3:51of Kevin's team. And since that episode, he's
- 3:54played eight games, two goals, 3 assists, 5 points.
- 3:57I say this is one of those kind of like Simmer and, you know,
- 4:01maybe you can buy them even lower than earlier.
- 4:03Of those five points, four of them came in one game.
- 4:06So my feelings there like it shows you he can do it.
- 4:09The window still open for Panera and I think people are starting
- 4:11to get worried because it's been like 4 weeks into the season at
- 4:15this point. We saw, you know, in two games
- 4:18you got those five points were like alright, he's back and on
- 4:20the icy looks good. Like he's getting all the time
- 4:22on it. He's getting shots.
- 4:24So it's just the Rangers as a team or are not really playing
- 4:27well right now. I think the Trocheck like injury
- 4:30really hurts him coming back in the in the near future, I think
- 4:32will help overall stabilize his top 6.
- 4:34And I think the window is still open for Panera.
- 4:36Like I'm not I'm not scared off just yet.
- 4:38I still think that way better days are ahead.
- 4:41So if you can still try to buy on the low, I'm looking to do
- 4:44that. Yeah, and recently the coach
- 4:46shuffled up the top 6 and is playing Panarion with JT and
- 4:50Zibanejad on the line. Three best players on the team.
- 4:53Yeah, who would have thought? If you're struggling to create
- 4:56any sort of offence, maybe put your top three players together
- 4:58and see what happens. So.
- 5:00And it's crazy because that line didn't score, but the second
- 5:02line of Cooley Laba. And is it like Sherri?
- 5:05No, it's laugh, laugh. Sorry.
- 5:07Yeah. And they scored as soon as she
- 5:08starts the top line. So yeah, so maybe that's the
- 5:11real top line. Yeah.
- 5:15No, paranoid say is still a buy low.
- 5:17And if you waited, you might be able to buy him even lower than
- 5:19two weeks ago. Yeah.
- 5:20Next we've got Brandon Hagel of Jake's team.
- 5:23Since then, he's played eight games, three goals, 4 assists, 7
- 5:25points. But if you look at the game log,
- 5:27it's really the last four games where he got most of those
- 5:29points. So I think for a week into that,
- 5:32it looked like he was still a buy low.
- 5:33Now he's kind of popping off. So you might have lost your
- 5:36window, but it just shows that we were right about, you know,
- 5:40not being worried about Hagel and he's coming back to where he
- 5:42should be. The windows lost.
- 5:44You cannot buy low on him anymore.
- 5:46He's got. The only way that you can still
- 5:49buy him is if, like, the manager was really affected by the dip
- 5:54in performance for the first three weeks and he's finally
- 5:56some good games, I can get him off my roster.
- 5:58But that's not the case for most teams that have Hagel on the
- 6:00roster. 7 points in his last four games.
- 6:03It's insane and he's over. He's averaging over 20 minutes a
- 6:06night. It's crazy, I know.
- 6:09It was the second unit, but. Still good numbers for a
- 6:11defenseman, like really good defenseman numbers more than
- 6:15probably most in the league. So they just play them all the
- 6:18time and I don't understand how he gets those minutes being on
- 6:20power play too. Which is still ridiculous but.
- 6:23That's he plays on the PC which definitely adds to his.
- 6:26Many definitely adds this time, but.
- 6:27Yeah, so I'm very happy I held. And for those who bought low,
- 6:31good job. Yeah, and for those who didn't
- 6:33sell low, good job as well. For you, Logan Cooley, for Hagel
- 6:37and you turn me down. That was like 2 weeks ago.
- 6:40How you feeling about that? I'm feeling OK.
- 6:43OK, I would feel pretty bad. They're both great.
- 6:46I mean I feel like since then they've had equal performance
- 6:49regardless. I would say they haven't, but.
- 6:53Alright, moving on to our cells from 2 weeks ago, we had Afghani
- 6:57Malkin. Since then he actually somehow
- 6:59got even better with 9 games played, three goals -12 points.
- 7:02I will say this is not a miss though.
- 7:03This is just a if you haven't sold high yet, maybe you can
- 7:06sell them even higher now, But currently Pittsburgh is the
- 7:10number one team in the league. And you know who Malcolm is
- 7:12playing with at even strength? He's playing with Anthony Mantha
- 7:15and Justin Brazo, both also killing it and it's just so
- 7:19unsustainable. Malcolm did the same thing last
- 7:21year, like the exact same thing. So if we need like, you know, a
- 7:24track record of when he's popped off to start the season and then
- 7:27became nearly unrestorable, literally looked to last year.
- 7:30This is such an incredible sell high opportunity.
- 7:33Honestly, it would, you know, if people weren't able to do it in
- 7:36the last two weeks. The opportunity is getting
- 7:38better and better. Like you just start aiming
- 7:39higher and higher. So do it.
- 7:41Get rid of Falcon off your team. This is not going to be the
- 7:44entire season. I'm sure there's some leagues
- 7:46where you can sell Malkin for Panarin.
- 7:48Yes. Yes I absolutely agree.
- 7:51The one difference is that Pittsburgh is good this year,
- 7:53whereas they still sucked last year with Mulkins production.
- 7:56But this is such a good opportunity because this
- 7:59production has been sustained for so many weeks in a row now
- 8:02that people are going to start buying into it.
- 8:04Like if it wasn't time buying into it emotionally but not with
- 8:08actual fantasy, I'm not buying. It standings and Mulkins playing
- 8:12at above a point per game pace. Yeah, guys, please.
- 8:15This guy will end up being a drop later in the season.
- 8:17He's not going to be doing this forever.
- 8:20Yeah, please sell him right now. Yeah, yeah, you get a lot of
- 8:23value. But like, just a quick tangent.
- 8:26Do you actually think Pittsburgh gonna make the playoffs?
- 8:27No. I still sure there no.
- 8:30OK, there's a lot of pundits who say that they are.
- 8:33I will say, though, that personally, as a Crosby owner, I
- 8:37kind of hope they do. First of all, they keep being
- 8:38good. He's gonna keep being sick,
- 8:40although he doesn't need them to.
- 8:41But also they have such a good playoff schedule.
- 8:42And if he doesn't get, if doing well, they're gonna trade him.
- 8:44So I would love. That yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:47But yeah, so high on Malkin still for.
- 8:49Sure. OK.
- 8:50Next we had Pavel Dorfe, VI. Don't know if you remember when
- 8:53we recorded two weeks ago, he was the talk of the town.
- 8:57Literally the best goal scorer of our generation or any
- 9:00generation. Since then, he's put up eight
- 9:02games, played four goals unassisted, 5 points.
- 9:05I mean, this is kind of exactly the type of thing I expect him
- 9:07to do, right? Like 5 points and eight games is
- 9:09not like bad, four of them being goals.
- 9:11It's just classic for this type of guy who's just a pure goal
- 9:13scorer, not really getting many assists.
- 9:15But it's not the pace that he was on two weeks ago.
- 9:18So he's definitely slowed down a bit.
- 9:20He's going to be a season long hold.
- 9:21This wasn't one of those. It's not like a Malkin 1 where
- 9:23like he might literally become droppable at some point but you
- 9:27may have lost your chance to sell them at his highest if you
- 9:29haven't done it yet. Yeah, some people flip their
- 9:31affair for Panera and Back in the Day.
- 9:33So my back in the day 2 weeks. Ago, yes.
- 9:37But listen, Dora Fair and keep her sure.
- 9:39What are the two Tide goal scorers in the league right now?
- 9:41So listen. Who would have thought?
- 9:43Yeah, exactly. Both of them have I'd like to
- 9:45combine the two top goal scorers in the league combined have one
- 9:48assist and eighteen goals, so. There you go.
- 9:52Yeah, throw in Morgan Geekie on there too, who's like second,
- 9:55and he also is just a pure goal scorer, so it's very
- 9:58interesting. To see we love those guys, but
- 9:59it's always hard to sustain. Yeah, exactly.
- 10:02And lastly, we have Elias Lindholm who played since we
- 10:06recommended him. He's played nine games, two
- 10:08goals, 3 assists, 5 points and he is now injured for a few
- 10:11weeks. So this is very much one where
- 10:13the cell high window is gone. So if you didn't sell high on
- 10:17him, you're stuck with him now on your IR for the next few
- 10:19weeks. Obviously we can't pat ourselves
- 10:20on the back for an injury, right Like.
- 10:22But he had already started to slow down a little bit.
- 10:23Before, even without the injury, not only was it the points like
- 10:265 and 9 is not bad, but it's not the crazy start yet, but also
- 10:29the shots slowed down as we all expected.
- 10:30He wasn't gonna be getting 3-4 shots a game.
- 10:32That's not the type of player he is.
- 10:34So again, this is one that we hope you sold when you had the
- 10:36chance, but the chance is now gone.
- 10:39This, this just makes me think that we're so good at buy low,
- 10:42sell high, guys. I'm just saying.
- 10:43Yes. Can you pronounce their their
- 10:45new top line centres name? My rat Kusnet to Dinov.
- 10:50OK, we got it on our hands, I mean.
- 10:53I don't know if that's correct, but that's how I've been
- 10:55pronouncing it. That's remarkable attention to
- 10:57detail. Thank you.
- 10:58I'm very impressed. But you won't get that anywhere
- 11:00else. Let me tell.
- 11:01You. What is gone?
- 11:04Yeah, and I will say I not not to you know, tell on myself, but
- 11:08if we were doing spelling bee, I do not know how to spell Marats
- 11:11name just yet because he is such a new player to the league and
- 11:14has had not had fantasy relevance before possibly now.
- 11:16So that would be a stumper, but you know, I might be able to.
- 11:19Try to get into deserve this treatment real reserves our
- 11:23respect honestly. Kevin, do you remember when we
- 11:26watched that game when he was on Minnesota?
- 11:27And we really remember this guy? He's a monster.
- 11:29He looks sick. Wait, I feel, I feel like I
- 11:33remember this. We were at the Bell Centre for
- 11:36flurries last like retirement game at the Bell Centre where
- 11:39you gotta shut out. And we were all like sad to see
- 11:42the Habs lose, but like, it was just such a good moment to see
- 11:44Flurry and like that performance and.
- 11:47Yeah. The guy we're not like we didn't
- 11:50notice he was that we look at we look size number looked up,
- 11:53looked him up and we're like, wait, this guy looks sick.
- 11:55What the? Hell yeah.
- 11:57That's why Jake just spent two fab on him last night.
- 11:59Yeah, yeah. Line 1C for Boston 2 fab.
- 12:03I think that's worth it. Yeah, for sure.
- 12:04Worth the shot. Alright Roy, let's start with
- 12:07our Bilos. So my Bilo for this week is
- 12:10Brayden Point of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
- 12:13Since the first game of the season where he had a
- 12:15three-point night, Point has only 5 points and his last 10
- 12:18games he's averaging under two shots on goal in under 5 face
- 12:21off wins per game. Last year he was at 2.5 shots
- 12:24and 5.6 face off wins. Tampa is currently 5 four and
- 12:27two and 4th in the Atlantic, but they should easily be a top
- 12:29three team in the division. The whole team has started off
- 12:32really slow, even their top guys like Kucherov, but they should
- 12:34turn it around and Point will be a huge part of that.
- 12:36He'll easily finish the season point per game, so now it's a
- 12:39great chance to buy and some targets that I'd look to flip
- 12:42for Point. Bo Horvat, Afghani Malkin, Nick
- 12:45Schmaltz. This, this is great.
- 12:49Many great points. Yeah.
- 12:53The crowd goes wild. Yeah.
- 12:54And I really like your targets too, because as we discussed,
- 12:57Malkin has just been an on an absolute terror and it's keeps
- 13:00going. And then the other two guys,
- 13:01Horvat and Schmaltz easily. I'd rather Brayden point over
- 13:04there. This underperformance is a
- 13:06simple function of the team not being what they're going to be
- 13:11moving forward. You know, they're their goals
- 13:13for is actually, you know, second bottom in the Atlantic
- 13:17Division right now. And he's going to be a huge part
- 13:19of this bounce back. Even if it doesn't happen like
- 13:22right away, it may start experts, but then it's gonna be
- 13:25consistent. This guy has a 90 point ceiling.
- 13:27I think he's even hit close to 100 in his career.
- 13:29So I really love this by Low. Yeah, I mean, I just bought low
- 13:32on Brayden Point in one of my other leagues, not our league of
- 13:36record. I traded the Ryan Nugent Hopkins
- 13:38for Britain point. It's a little bit of a more
- 13:40shallow league as well where you're only starting like two of
- 13:42every position. So waivers are waves are pretty
- 13:44stacked. But I was happy to do a trade
- 13:46like that. It wasn't even a bangers league
- 13:47either. I sent Dylan Cousins and Ryan
- 13:49and Hopkins in a non bangers league for Britain point and I'm
- 13:53pretty happy with that. I had just picked up Dylan
- 13:54Cousins off waivers. So I yeah, exactly shallower
- 13:59league. So it just goes to show that,
- 14:00like, he is very attainable, you know?
- 14:02And he's just like, he's an elite goal scorer, first of all.
- 14:05He's always one of the centres that gets the most goals in the
- 14:07league. Yeah.
- 14:08And he's playing with Kucherov. Like we know how high the
- 14:11ceilings are to start to the season has been far from what he
- 14:15is going to produce. This is an amazing buy low
- 14:18opportunity on Brayden Point. Yeah.
- 14:21Last, last point I have on this is that because of the short
- 14:24discrepancy, that's like another reason to sell him.
- 14:27You know, it's like it really does not look good compared.
- 14:29To last year, especially around. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 14:34There's like no redeeming qualities.
- 14:35His face off suck too. If you're in a face off win
- 14:37league and that's that's going to stay.
- 14:38Yeah, but yeah, great, great. Buy low.
- 14:41Opportunity and I just want to if you're just your first buy
- 14:44low sell high episode, you're listening to a of us.
- 14:47I just want to reinforce the idea that we're recommending
- 14:50these players. That doesn't mean tomorrow you
- 14:53trade for them and they're gonna come up right away.
- 14:55You know what I mean? Like there is usually a little
- 14:57bit of a Gray area where it's like, OK, like the turn around
- 15:00doesn't happen right after you make the trade.
- 15:03You might have the growing pains for like a week or two, but
- 15:06we're looking at this from like a season long opportunity.
- 15:08Like getting market is not gonna average 12 points over 9 games
- 15:11for the next three weeks and then drop off a Cliff.
- 15:14Like it's gonna slowly go down and point, it's gonna slowly
- 15:17come up. So you make a trade like that
- 15:19and at the end of the season you're flying.
- 15:21Yeah. Yeah, absolutely.
- 15:23Right, Kevin, you're up. All right, my buy low
- 15:28opportunity is a player that everybody is worried about.
- 15:32So I feel like this will be a surprising to hear come out of
- 15:34my mouth. But I will give context.
- 15:38My Bilo is currently Mackenzie Weeger of the Calgary Flames.
- 15:43You can be like Kevin. This guy has been dog water.
- 15:47He just got bumped off PP1. Why do I want to acquire him on
- 15:51my team? And the logic behind this
- 15:53decision is that if you're a manager, you're kind of worried
- 15:57right now, like you got bumped off P1.
- 15:59And that's one of the reasons why he was drafted as a top five
- 16:01defensemen in bangers leagues. His bangers also have been kind
- 16:05of inconsistent. We're seeing a lot of zeros in
- 16:06the heads in the blogs and the Shaws, like every other game is
- 16:09kind of getting zeros, which is completely normal for for guys
- 16:12like this. Like we saw with Cider as well.
- 16:14We see with other guys that are like really good at hits or
- 16:16blocks like they'll have the odd gamer to get zeros.
- 16:19I just think that right now the price for weaker is
- 16:21significantly lower than what is upside still remains for the
- 16:24rest of the season. I do not see correct keeping
- 16:26this P1 spot for long term. I think even by the time you
- 16:31listen to this maybe your gets gets the spot back.
- 16:34But I think the price to acquire him right now is significantly
- 16:37lower and honestly way worth the risk.
- 16:40I feel like it's a low risk, high reward opportunity where if
- 16:44he comes back to form or even close to it, you're getting your
- 16:47money's worth. And even just with the banger
- 16:49category coverage, I think it'll be worth it to acquire Mackenzie
- 16:51Weeger because I'm looking at trading guys like Jackson
- 16:55Lacombe, who is a super hot name right now.
- 16:57Everybody kind of wants a piece of Jackson Lacombe.
- 17:00I, I said this in our discourse, so shout out if you're not
- 17:03there, join because we're having conversations like this on a
- 17:05daily basis. But I said hot take.
- 17:07I think Jackson the comma is one of the most overrated fantasy
- 17:09players right now. It feels like after the
- 17:12contract, everybody is seeing him as like this next like
- 17:14superstar that everybody's just waiting to get their hands on or
- 17:17like the ceiling is incredibly high.
- 17:19I just don't see it. I think he's the same guy as
- 17:22like Miro Heiskanen, who is also a one for one target that I said
- 17:25that you can trade mirror Hassan for Mackenzie Weegar.
- 17:27I would do that in a heartbeat. Yeah, if you're lucky and with
- 17:31this recent surge of Jacob Trouba, if you're able to
- 17:35somehow flip that for Mackenzie, we could be like, look how Trump
- 17:37is getting points and look, look at coverage.
- 17:39That's so sick, Mackenzie. We're just got bumped off people
- 17:42and he sucks now. Like, I would try to make that
- 17:44flip. Like if you're able to sell it,
- 17:45if you're a good salesman, that would be insane.
- 17:48I think Morgan Riley, he's completely slowed down to my
- 17:51demise. But you could have seen that one
- 17:53coming. I drafted him in the 15th round.
- 17:58I'll take what I can get. The production will still be
- 18:03there eventually, but I just think that you can capitalize on
- 18:05like, oh, these people one on Toronto and Toronto has been
- 18:08struggling. And maybe if you're able to flip
- 18:10that in a package for for we grew.
- 18:13I would do that. Even Darnell Nurse, like we
- 18:15talked about Darnell Nurse recently on Would you rather
- 18:17episode. But yeah, I think if you're able
- 18:20to flip Darnell Nurse, who's a pure category guy, trading him
- 18:23for a guy that's equally as good in Bangor categories but has
- 18:25that P1 upside, like I would do that.
- 18:27Yeah. These are great names for sure,
- 18:30and I would rather weaker over all of them.
- 18:32My question though, is what's like the upper echelon?
- 18:35Like the guy that one or two maybe that you would like to
- 18:40trade for And it's like you're like really don't want to give
- 18:42it up because like poem, for instance, is performing exactly
- 18:45the same as weaker. I way rather weaker, no doubt
- 18:48about it, but they're performing similarly, you know what I mean?
- 18:51So would you give someone like what's like an upper echelon
- 18:54like? The best guy I would give to get
- 18:58weaker on my roster kind of thing.
- 18:59Is that what you're asking? Yeah, exactly.
- 19:01Yeah. What about like a Dougie
- 19:03Hamilton? I would do that.
- 19:06I think so too. Oh my God, Actually, I don't
- 19:08even know. That's probably that's that's
- 19:09exactly what I'm like. Looking if you can flip Nikishin
- 19:13for weaker, I think that's incredible.
- 19:16There's no way no ones gonna do that.
- 19:19Yeah, I don't think he's performed that well yet, even
- 19:21though I think I'm OK to roster indication.
- 19:24I yeah, yeah, not, not a hit on him.
- 19:26I'm just trying to think of reasonable ones.
- 19:27I think my favorite name, like Kevin mentioned, was Darnell
- 19:29Nurse because Nurse has just been absolutely out of his mind
- 19:32and backwards. And like if you convince, if the
- 19:34weaker owners convinced he's not getting power play 1 back, then
- 19:37he kind of becomes just a bangers defenseman and and
- 19:40nurses bangers cats have been better than wiggers and nurses
- 19:43putting up random numbers at points, which is obviously not
- 19:46going to last. So I think that could possibly
- 19:48get done. Yeah, you feel bad doing that,
- 19:51which is good because it's like, it's like, that's where.
- 19:54We so these Bilo cell highs, it's the immediate feeling, the
- 19:57first initial feeling and maybe a week after is like, damn, I
- 20:00just made my team worse. But over the long term, kind of
- 20:03like you guys mentioned earlier, it gets better.
- 20:05But yeah, so. Would you trade Charlie McAvoy
- 20:07for weigher? That's a good one too.
- 20:11Yeah. I I, I think it's almost a no
- 20:14for me, but it's like right there.
- 20:16What about Roman Yosi? Yeah, I'll take her real see.
- 20:20Yeah, I don't know. If he's zero trust in in the OC
- 20:23being healthy this year. Thomas Harley.
- 20:25Yeah, no, I think I'd rather hardly.
- 20:29Yeah, that's tough. Harley's been blocking like a
- 20:31champ and I really feel like he takes power play one at some
- 20:34point and then. Just got so much.
- 20:35Money, yeah. He's so rich.
- 20:37Yeah, he's gonna be like, quote, after signing his contract, he's
- 20:41like, yeah, just a regular day for me.
- 20:43I'm gonna go home and have like Adorno's frozen pizza or
- 20:45something like that. Would you, John Carlson?
- 20:51Yeah. Yes.
- 20:54I like those ones, like where the guy currently has power play
- 20:58one, but he's kind of in a battle for it.
- 21:00So you look at like Carlson with chicken, you look at maybe
- 21:03Dougie with Luke Hughes, you talk, you know, like maybe he's
- 21:05going in with Harley. Whereas Weaker currently is not
- 21:09on power play one, but can get it back and weaker has that huge
- 21:12back hats upside. So yeah.
- 21:14You have like a wide spectrum of guys that you can definitely
- 21:17offer for. Weaker, I just think that's what
- 21:19I'm saying, but I wanna make sure you're buying a little
- 21:21because I'm not saying your has no risk rest of season.
- 21:23Like his value is not going to be what his draft day cost was
- 21:27like. We drafted him as a top five
- 21:28defenseman before the bangers and the power play.
- 21:30It looks like the points are just not going to be as there as
- 21:33they were in the past. Power play 1 back.
- 21:35Calgary is so bad at offence this year and I don't see any
- 21:38reason like they're not gonna be this bad, but I don't see any
- 21:40reason why they're going to be suddenly become a really good
- 21:42team or they're probably gonna be really good.
- 21:44So I don't think that play on spot is as enticing as some
- 21:47other ones. So yeah, it's like Kevin said,
- 21:49the point ceiling is not nearly where we where he might have
- 21:52been drafted as, but the bankers are going to be there and he
- 21:54should still chip in what, like 4.5 points per game?
- 21:57Yeah, because I I think if you drafted him as a top five
- 22:00defenseman, I think his ceiling this year is probably like top
- 22:03ten now because of the points inconsistencies.
- 22:06But if you're trading a top 15, top 20, like the risk there is
- 22:10low. So even if he doesn't bounce
- 22:12back to the height that we initially expected of him,
- 22:15you're still making good value there.
- 22:17And that's the point I want to emphasize that like, this is not
- 22:20me saying that mechanism weather is going to be a top five
- 22:22defenseman again, like I don't want everybody to have that
- 22:24idea. I just think the price is so low
- 22:26right now that you can make a deal where you're still
- 22:28improving even though he's not hitting a ceiling for rest of
- 22:30season. Yeah, that's a, that's a good
- 22:32way of putting it. All right, Jake, Yeah.
- 22:34Who do you got is your bio? OK, my bi lo I had a little
- 22:40interesting story as to how I got to it, so I'm gonna give you
- 22:43that. I'm going to give you that
- 22:44little background story. So basically this was like a
- 22:47simple yet unintentional methodology for picking the
- 22:50Bilo. I went zero G this year so I
- 22:53wanted to see how my goalies were doing compared to the top
- 22:56guys this year. So what I did was I filtered
- 22:58last 14 days average and I wanted to see which goalie had
- 23:01the most saves. Turns out it's Philip Gustafson.
- 23:04I then looked at his rank which is super low because his goals
- 23:07against average and his percentages for save percentage
- 23:10are awful abysmal. It's crazy.
- 23:13So this is obviously extremely disappointing for a goalie who
- 23:16you drafted in the 5th and 6th round over really valuable
- 23:19players. And yeah, I mean, to me, like
- 23:24the good news is that there's a lot of reasons that I expect the
- 23:26turn around to happen fast. Firstly, there's no real
- 23:29competition there. Walstad, who I was highest on
- 23:31out of the three of us is not gonna be a thing.
- 23:33There's no way he's also performing horribly.
- 23:36Secondly, Minnesota has a decently easy schedule over the
- 23:39next two weeks, which is Nashville, Carolina, which is
- 23:42hard, then Islanders, Flames, Sharks, Ducks and Vegas.
- 23:46So this is great because it's just in time for our two week
- 23:49evaluation segment to look upon my buy low favorably.
- 23:53Alright, so and yeah, lastly, Minnesota gives up a lot of
- 23:56shots. And although that doesn't really
- 23:58bode well for his percentages, even if he ends up with a 910
- 24:01and he was at a 914 last year, that's not elite.
- 24:04But because of all the shots and the wins, which I expect to tick
- 24:08up dramatically, he's going to be a reliable #1 goalie for your
- 24:12fantasy team. And yeah, All in all, I just
- 24:15like it can't be this bad moving forward.
- 24:17And I definitely expect them the Wild to surpass both the
- 24:20Blackhawks and the Predators in the standings over the next few
- 24:22weeks for a goalie who had a lead production last year.
- 24:26I just expect them the the while to still be in playoff
- 24:29contention and it's gonna start looking way brighter for ghosts
- 24:33and very soon. So I have some good one for one
- 24:36targets. I think you'll.
- 24:37Tell me. One of Jerry or she loves.
- 24:41I think you could. I think that's like doable
- 24:43because they're both performing amazingly well.
- 24:45Spencer Knight, Lukas Dostal and to add in some cross positional
- 24:51flexibility kind of interesting ideas, Brad Marshawn, Eric
- 24:56Carlson because these are two veteran guys with huge name
- 24:59value that are performing very well right now and I would
- 25:03rather Gustafsen over them. Yeah, I I like it a lot.
- 25:07I'm will say when we did our rankings divisional rankings
- 25:12episode, I got ripped a new one for saying Minnesota was going
- 25:15to finish 6th. And I don't know if you have
- 25:17checked the standings. Currently in 7th so.
- 25:20I just think we didn't. We didn't.
- 25:22We underestimated the impact losing Mazzarello was going to
- 25:26have on. This team, OK, we'll see what
- 25:27happens. He should be back in the next
- 25:29week, so we'll see if that helps things enough to get them back.
- 25:32But another reason I'm feeling pretty good about my ranking.
- 25:36I just feel like I was right about their their defence and
- 25:38all that. Anyways, as we said, Gustafson
- 25:40definitely is a a great buy low there.
- 25:42Even if they don't win a lot of games, you should put up good
- 25:45numbers. I like the shots of games.
- 25:46Like he said, it's it's great for saves, just in general.
- 25:49It's also great for save percentage because you get more
- 25:52of a you get more of a leash to let in more goals.
- 25:55If the volume of shots is higher, then you'll end up with
- 25:58a solid save percentage. So for those reasons, I like it.
- 26:01Jerry slash she loves. I would definitely rather Gus
- 26:03into either of them. And I guess Penguins are first
- 26:06in the league right now, so maybe there's a chance it gets
- 26:08done. I don't know.
- 26:09I feel like it's tough. Trading toy for school.
- 26:12We still have a little bit of a stink on them that they're not.
- 26:14Like that's it. Like I feel like I feel like
- 26:16that's hard to pull off. Obviously, if you can, it would
- 26:18be great. Spencer night to great one.
- 26:19I think you could definitely pull that off and I would prefer
- 26:21Gustafson Dostall as well. I'd prefer Gustafson and then
- 26:25you're cross position ones. I would take Gustafson over
- 26:27either of those guys, so. I'm an Eric Carlson owner.
- 26:30I don't know if the Gustafson owner would accept that unless
- 26:32they're like desperate at defensemen.
- 26:34Yeah, yeah. But it's it's.
- 26:37Horrible like Gustafson. For his need a goalie.
- 26:40So listen, I might actually look into that.
- 26:42Yeah. Yeah, yeah, honestly, like add a
- 26:45small sweetener, whoever you're. The only issue in a lot of
- 26:49leagues, I know our league for sure, and in a lot of leagues no
- 26:52one's trading away a goalie unless they receive a golden
- 26:54return. So it would have to be like
- 26:56Carlson Plus. Without Freddie Anderson or I
- 27:00got Elvis Presley and those are my 2 goalies.
- 27:03Ready and Carlson would be great.
- 27:05Dirty and Carlson Watson. Yeah, why not?
- 27:07I think it could easily get done.
- 27:09I'm about to send that offer right now.
- 27:10Yeah, I don't think it gets done because our league hates
- 27:13trading, but I think it's a really good could get done in
- 27:16more normal leagues. Let me find Gustafson.
- 27:20Anyways, I think it's great. Let's move on to the cell highs.
- 27:23Good. I'm glad you brought up Freddie.
- 27:24That's that's another really good one, by the way.
- 27:26Yeah, go for it, Josh. My cell high is a guy who is
- 27:30actually playing just out of his GD mind right now, and I know
- 27:34because he's playing against me, obviously, which is what we have
- 27:38here because it makes no sense, OK?
- 27:40And that person is Brandon Montour of the Seattle Crack and
- 27:43Key Mantras. Only played six games this
- 27:45season, but he's been unreal in all of them.
- 27:46He's averaging 1.2 points, .3 power play points, three shots
- 27:51on goal, 1.7 hits and 2.3 blocks.
- 27:55Guys, I don't know if you've looked at Brandon Montour's game
- 27:57log before I'm before this episode.
- 28:00Look at it and just laugh at me for playing him when he's having
- 28:03the best, you know? I feel kind of bad because I
- 28:06tried to buy him like last week before he came back from the the
- 28:10thing and the manager was just like, oh, I just kind of want to
- 28:12be patient. Like I'm not trying to make too
- 28:13many moves this early in the season.
- 28:15I was like, alright, we can like reevaluate in a week or two and
- 28:17then he blows up. Yeah, well, you know, that's how
- 28:19it works. We have that curse on us.
- 28:21We try and trade for someone and they immediately blow up before
- 28:23the person accepts it. Pretty much.
- 28:25That's why I never send offers to people on playing games.
- 28:27I want to help them out against me.
- 28:29I also do that. Yeah, anyway, so yeah, he's
- 28:33playing just unreal in every single sense of that term, in
- 28:35every metric. It's easy for stats to be skewed
- 28:37in such a small sample size, especially when two out of six
- 28:40of the games he's played against Montreal and he's known as a
- 28:42Montreal killer. I don't know if you guys
- 28:44remember last season and putting up a six point game against us.
- 28:47It's just he does super well against the haves and that's a
- 28:50third of the games he's played this season.
- 28:51Last year his stats were .5 points per game, .1 probably
- 28:54points, 2.9 shots hit, and 1.2 blocks.
- 28:57That's fine. That's nowhere near what he's
- 28:59doing right now, and that's closer to what he's gonna end
- 29:01the season on. I'd say the one thing he's doing
- 29:03elite now that you can count on is the shots.
- 29:05That just seems to be in line with the type of player he is.
- 29:08But the hits are gonna go down, the blocks are gonna go down,
- 29:10the points are gonna go down, and the points are going to go
- 29:12down. And his deployment is not even
- 29:14exciting. He's aligned to power play 2
- 29:16penalty kill 2 on Seattle. Obviously power play 2 on
- 29:18Seattle is more like power play 1B, but still, that's like he's
- 29:22not even the top defenseman on the team in terms of deployment.
- 29:25He's still a solid guy to have on your team if you can flip him
- 29:27for I'd take most solid power play on defenseman over him at
- 29:30this point. I think you can get you can aim
- 29:32really high with how insane he's been, but I would take most guys
- 29:35who have that power play one spot on lock.
- 29:37So some targets I've got are Adam Fox, Victor Hedman and Evan
- 29:40Bouchard. Again, it's the only reason why
- 29:42it might be tough to sell it is because of the small sample
- 29:44size. People might be like, OK, he had
- 29:46six good games, but just with how unreal he's been, I think
- 29:49you can really pull off something special here.
- 29:52And yeah, I was gonna say like, I actually like Montour, like I
- 29:55would want Montour on my fantasy team.
- 29:57But if anybody is producing like this, you have to try and sell
- 30:00them for a A tier up. Like you have to do your due
- 30:03diligence when you have guys performing at this level if you
- 30:05want to make your fantasy team better.
- 30:07That's just how it is. If you want to win a
- 30:08championship, you gotta upgrade. But I really like the targets
- 30:11you said. I think they're all attainable.
- 30:13I think the most attainable is probably Victor Hedman.
- 30:15I think Bouchard is ramping up a little bit and he was highly
- 30:17drafted. Adam Fox has kind of been like
- 30:20the only Rangers got. Still kind of solid.
- 30:23I I think I would love to have Victor Hedman on my roster
- 30:25instead of instead of Montour. And I think you could pull that
- 30:28off. Yeah, absolutely.
- 30:29I think even a one for one it's it's somewhat feasible like
- 30:32Victor Hedman is not. I feel he does have the same
- 30:34poll that he used to have a few years back.
- 30:36I feel like ever since he kind of got demoted by Circuit Chev
- 30:38for like a stretch that one year, it put into question his
- 30:41lock on power play 1. And even though they shipped
- 30:43officer searched, if you like that kind of like stink around
- 30:46his name, you know, hasn't fully disappeared.
- 30:48So yeah. People just view him less elite
- 30:50as like he used to be in the past.
- 30:51Which is fair exactly. It's also older and.
- 30:53Has been producing less, but yeah.
- 30:55Yeah, and like if you look at monitors career log, he had one
- 30:59monster year, 73 points in 80 games 2223 season.
- 31:04Needless to say this Seattle Kraken's of new are not the
- 31:08Stanley Cup winning Florida Panthers that he was power play
- 31:121 as a lock all year. He is actually a very solid
- 31:16player as Kevin said, like having him on your fantasy team
- 31:19is great. And when we say sell high, it
- 31:22doesn't mean like going out of business like 50% off on it's
- 31:26like you gotta sell high because he's performing at that level.
- 31:30And look at it. I mean, you can just say, look,
- 31:32his minutes are good. His his peripherals are amazing.
- 31:34Look at this year in Florida, like monitor is back baby, but
- 31:38he's not, it's not going to stay this way.
- 31:40And if you can get an elite point producer like the targets
- 31:43you mentioned, it's an easy choice to go for that.
- 31:46Yeah, I was even gonna toss Warenski on there, but then he
- 31:48started heating up as well, like 2 points in his last two games
- 31:51each. So that's, I think might be a
- 31:53stretch, but like one of those, like top Quinn Hughes maybe with
- 31:56the injury and his slow start, yeah, I don't wanna show too
- 31:59high, but like, yeah, exactly as I say, like for one, for one,
- 32:01it's not gonna happen. But this can It can be like a
- 32:03starting point to a conversation that you didn't think was
- 32:05possible before the season started.
- 32:07Yeah, 100% agree. Alright, it's my cell high is a
- 32:14player that I spoke about earlier in this earlier in this
- 32:16podcast that I traded for Brayden Point.
- 32:18It is Ryan Nugent Hopkins of the Edmonton Oilers.
- 32:22Now listen, I feel like Ryan Nugent Hopkins is one of those
- 32:25guys that is in a great area for fantasy because he has value.
- 32:31People think he has like a super high ceiling, but he's not that
- 32:36good in terms of like what people view him as.
- 32:39So it's kind of like he's good, but he's not that good.
- 32:42Anyways, all that jumble mumbo jumbo to say that he's averaging
- 32:45point for a game this season. He's at .6 power play points per
- 32:48game. He's averaging 1.8 shots and no
- 32:51category coverage, like about half a hit, no blocks, barely
- 32:55any faceoff wins. He's playing with McDavid most
- 32:57of the time. Zach Hyman is around the corner
- 33:01in terms of his return. And listen, like last year he
- 33:04was at .6 points. This is a point per game.
- 33:08Now the the the Edmonton Oilers power play last year was
- 33:11significantly worse than it was this year.
- 33:13Like it did not hit the highest it should have last year.
- 33:15But all that to say, he's performing at a level that would
- 33:18the name value that he comes with and the production that
- 33:20he's having on the eyes. When you open his game log,
- 33:22you're seeing a lot of power play points.
- 33:23You're seeing a lot of points even though the category
- 33:25coverage is not there. I still think that you can sell
- 33:28him for a guide that will be filling up the statute for you.
- 33:31Maybe has a slightly lower point ceiling, but I'm not expecting
- 33:34render Hopkins to be a point bringing rest of season either.
- 33:37So if you can trade him for a guy that has a lot of potential
- 33:41that is not performing at their highest level yet either, I'm
- 33:44talking about like Quentin Byfield, Dylan Holloway, Robert
- 33:48Thomas, Vincent Trocheck, even McKenzie Weigher.
- 33:51I would do that in a one for one swap.
- 33:53And I think all these names are honestly very attainable.
- 33:56Holloway recently has started getting a little hotter.
- 33:59He's still banging, but a little bit of a point streak going.
- 34:02The Blues are maybe on the come up in the near future, like
- 34:06maybe it's a few weeks away, but Robert Thomas is hurt and he was
- 34:09not doing anything special beforehand.
- 34:10Vincent Trocheck is still currently hurt.
- 34:12He's also around the corner. We're looking at maybe the first
- 34:14week of November as his return. I would much rather these guys
- 34:17because you're getting not only the foundation with the category
- 34:20coverage for the bangers, but also they might even get more
- 34:23points in New Hope the rest of the season.
- 34:25And I don't know what his five production is going to be when
- 34:28Hyman comes back. All that to say, there's a lot
- 34:30of questions here. I think you need to capitalize
- 34:31on the name to get an upgrade. Yeah, this is, this is a great
- 34:36choice, especially because similar to Montour, who had a
- 34:39crazy 2223 season, yeah, 104 points that year nude.
- 34:43That's crazy when you can say that you're selling a 100.100
- 34:50point player playing with Connor McDavid performing at an elite
- 34:55level. Yeah.
- 34:56Like it? It's almost like too good to be
- 34:59true, except for all the caveats you mentioned.
- 35:02Yeah, there's a certain magic to playing with McDavid and
- 35:06Draisaitl in terms of trade name value and just like fantasy,
- 35:10perceived value, cuz it doesn't always translate.
- 35:13You know, there's always a guy who gets plugged in with McDavid
- 35:16online ones with McDavid said alright, Tomasek, you've got
- 35:19Trent Frederick, you've got, you know, whatever.
- 35:22Like over the years also, and they're just never fantasy of
- 35:25it, but does that stop thousands of people from running to pick
- 35:27them up and hoping, you know, like it's, there's such a
- 35:30incredible name value there on McDavid and Draisaitl that
- 35:35anyone playing near them gets a boost in name value.
- 35:38And then R and himself has that value because like you said,
- 35:41Jake, he put up that 100 points in like 2 years ago.
- 35:44He was obviously like, you know, good much better in his, in his
- 35:47heyday also and all that. So now this is a great name to
- 35:50trade. I like all the names you
- 35:51mentioned. I think they're one attainable
- 35:54and two would be a great trade. So I like that lot.
- 35:57Yeah, it's it's definitely a a good time to sell them to,
- 36:02especially as you mentioned, the hymen coming back like that is
- 36:05humongous. Yeah, because he's gonna play
- 36:07with McDavid, and there's a real chance that RNH goes from today
- 36:12playing with Connor McDavid, Andrew, Andrew Pani, to playing
- 36:14on the third line with Massive 1.
- 36:16That's exactly it, like if he's not playing on that first line,
- 36:19he often is the third line centre on that team.
- 36:21He's not even talk. He's getting bumped down to line
- 36:222 with dry side which is obviously not that bad to be
- 36:24either. But like no, he can get bumped
- 36:26down to line 3. He's got power play one on lock.
- 36:27Seriously. Like this could be the type of
- 36:29player who ends the season with like .7 points per game, .3
- 36:32power play points, 1.5 shots, and no other back ads.
- 36:37Which is essentially other than the power play points is pretty
- 36:40much somewhere to stream but waiver wire.
- 36:43Exactly. So yeah, this is a great time to
- 36:45sell. And when you're mentioning him,
- 36:47like when you're talking to the person you're trading with and
- 36:49saying like, oh, look how great of a player he is, whatever, do
- 36:52not forget to mention his past two playoff performances, which
- 36:55have been nearly a point per game, 20 and 22 last year and 22
- 37:00and 25 the year before. So like, yeah, keep performance
- 37:03when it counts. He's reliable, He's clutch.
- 37:05All those lies. I mean the numbers back up make
- 37:10it. Work.
- 37:11No, no, yeah, no, he's obviously actually clutching.
- 37:14He's a really good IRL player. It's just you want, it's about
- 37:17winning fantasy, and that's about stats.
- 37:19He's absolutely one of the best three seasons in the league if
- 37:21he's playing 3C, but it's just for fantasy.
- 37:24That just doesn't translate to value.
- 37:27Exactly OK to my cell high. It is someone I've been seeing
- 37:34all over hockey, anything social media, you know, like pundits,
- 37:40whatever, who are saying that this guy is back and it's his
- 37:44time to shine. It is Trevor Zegers of the not
- 37:48Anaheim Ducks, the Philadelphia Flyers.
- 37:51He's obviously an integral part of Philly's early success this
- 37:55year, which I'm feeling decent about because I was kind of high
- 37:57on Philly. And it's hard for me to kind of
- 37:59go with this cell high because I really do believe that there are
- 38:02a decent team this year still. Like the Metropolitan is stacked
- 38:08and I don't think they're going to necessarily make the
- 38:10playoffs, but they can make a push.
- 38:11But right now he's at 1.2 points per game this season and that is
- 38:16obviously not sustainable. This, as we mentioned with
- 38:20Montour, it's not a going out of business.
- 38:22Sell everything and he's a sick late round dart throw.
- 38:26The guy in our league got up 1.2 points per game player in zeros
- 38:30and the 19th round, which is unbelievable.
- 38:33But at this point in the year, he's playing like next year's
- 38:374th, 5th round pick because his, you know, category coverage is
- 38:41negligible. More on that later, but I
- 38:43anticipate is going to be more like a tenth round pick moving
- 38:46forward for the rest of the season.
- 38:48He had two amazing years with the Ducks that start his career,
- 38:51but then he fell off considerably and this new change
- 38:53of scenery seems like it's going to revitalize his career.
- 38:56So that's good, but it's really the pace and the lack of Bangor
- 39:00categories that make me want to sell them.
- 39:03The peripherals, banger categories, whatever you want to
- 39:05call it, aren't going to change at all.
- 39:07He has negligible hits, face offs, and a massive Max Max two
- 39:12shots on goal per game which is honestly even a stretch.
- 39:15He's also not power play one, which doesn't really mean much
- 39:17because playing with no case on power play too and he's the
- 39:19GOAT. That's a joke, but yeah.
- 39:23Thank you for specifying. Listen, no case has been good,
- 39:26but not relevant right now. But yeah, all getting inside.
- 39:30It's a split power play. But that also doesn't bode well
- 39:33for a player success, which is entirely contingent on points.
- 39:36It's really about selling what the right price.
- 39:39And I think with the name value, because of his success in
- 39:41Anaheim and the amazing pace so far, you can get something
- 39:44really good. So Kevin plagiarized my Bi Lo by
- 39:49Target and Quentin Byfield, but you know, but if you have RNH or
- 39:53Trevor Zagreus, you could sell them frequent and buy fields
- 39:57because he's been .4 less points per game than cigars, but really
- 40:00good for Bangor caddies categories already.
- 40:02So that's great. Then I'm looking at Nichushkin,
- 40:07who's quite good, Nikishin, which I don't know if you guys
- 40:11are necessarily going to agree with me, but we'll talk about
- 40:14that soon. And then Monahan and if somehow
- 40:18this is possible to get Gustafson my aforementioned.
- 40:22Though then I don't hate that either, but you'd probably have
- 40:26to package them with like Jerry or Merligen.
- 40:28So first let's tell me why the Nikishin offer sucks, and then
- 40:31the other less controversial ones.
- 40:34Shaking his head when you were talking, so I'll let him.
- 40:36Yeah, I felt it. I didn't even see you, but I
- 40:39felt. Well, first of all, I agree with
- 40:42the whole cell high. He's performing like crazy and
- 40:45it's not gonna keep up. I don't trust anyone on Philly
- 40:48to necessarily get this many points.
- 40:50The only guy going in this season I thought might have a
- 40:51shot would be Michkov and he showed up and been awful.
- 40:55So no, I do not expect Trevor Siegrist to be over a point per
- 40:57game and he doesn't offer anything in terms of back cats.
- 40:59So fully on the sell high in terms of your targets by field.
- 41:03I love I love that. You know, sometimes it's great
- 41:06with the way we structure our episode.
- 41:08Even if a guy is not specifically one of our bylaws,
- 41:10he gets mentioned as a target a couple times and you're like,
- 41:12oh, that guy is a buy low. Even though we didn't go into
- 41:14details about you. I love that one.
- 41:16I love chicken. Also.
- 41:17I think that'd be a great Bilo Monahan I think is amazing.
- 41:19And I just I don't think that you're gonna get Gustafson for
- 41:23Zachris. It would have to like, I mean,
- 41:25you mentioned it would have to be with a goalie like a Jerry
- 41:28Ormers Lykins. I still don't see the guy doing
- 41:30it. But you know what, each league
- 41:32is different. So I think it's it would be a
- 41:34great trade if you could pull it off Nikisha and I'm just don't
- 41:36have much interest in. I think at this point I'm
- 41:38comfortable saying he is not going to smell a touch of power
- 41:41play time this entire year. When 3 or four of your top
- 41:44defensemen go out and you're still not getting power play
- 41:47time, not even on the second power play, then you're just not
- 41:49gonna be that guy. So he's not getting the power
- 41:51play and he's putting up good banger cats, but he's putting up
- 41:55good points to start the season, but that's not gonna last.
- 41:56He's a rookie and it's just even strength and he's not
- 41:59necessarily getting the craziest ice time.
- 42:01Once all the guys come back. All I just say I like him as a
- 42:04bangers defenseman, but I've no real interest in in trading for
- 42:08him. I'd rather just take zebras and
- 42:09see what he can do than taking action.
- 42:13Yeah, cause Dominic, don't get me wrong, I think on an earlier
- 42:16podcast right at the very start of the season, or maybe it was
- 42:19just me and Josh talking off the pod, but we talked about, you
- 42:22know, where certain guys are, where are you willing to take
- 42:25them in the draft and if you have any interest in them at
- 42:28all, like guys like Stamkos, we're like no matter how far
- 42:30they fall, not drafting stamp goes this year.
- 42:33I mentioned stamp cost because we've had a couple of people
- 42:36talk about him and the. Discount and stop asking.
- 42:39Me. Even in the deepest leagues like
- 42:41let's say there's nobody on waivers, only like one or two
- 42:43when guys then maybe I'd rather stem cost, but.
- 42:45Like you should have drafted him but it's not worth holding a
- 42:48dead roster spot all year. If you see him, if you see him
- 42:50drop, like I'm not looking to pick him.
- 42:52Up. No, but pick him up if.
- 42:53He's serious was one of those guys that we talked about like
- 42:56in the 18th, 19th, 20th round. It's just like these guys that
- 42:59it's low risk. Like those guys you end up
- 43:00dropping after a few weeks in the season anyway.
- 43:02So might as well take a guy that has the upside and look at what
- 43:05you can do for your team. If you drafted in the 19th round
- 43:08of your fantasy league and he's producing an over a point per
- 43:10game, you're able to flip him for maybe a guy that was drafted
- 43:13in the 7th, 8th, 9th round. It's gonna stay on your
- 43:15authority entire year with like a good foundation.
- 43:17Like that's the type of move that you have to make.
- 43:19If you can get within by field, I think that's amazing.
- 43:21If you get this amazing Monahan amazing.
- 43:24Like I really want those guys on my team.
- 43:26Nikisha, I agree with Josh. I feel like he's a little bit
- 43:28too 1 dimensional in terms of the bangers where if I have
- 43:31zero, I'm trying to flip him for a guy give me points.
- 43:33Like I want to capitalize on like his point performance and
- 43:36get a good, it's going to be able to produce that
- 43:38consistently from my roster. So if you have them, I'm happy
- 43:42with this production. I think he'll have a higher
- 43:44floor than I expected, but it's not gonna be near a point per
- 43:48game. And try to capitalize on that
- 43:50value and get something really good.
- 43:53Yeah, then it question one was a bit of a stretch.
- 43:55Let let me, let me, let me take. Application on his team so I was
- 43:58just trying to self fulfilling. Prophecy this into you.
- 44:00Like if someone offered me seekers for him, would I accept
- 44:03it? Yes.
- 44:04Yeah, you should absolutely accept that.
- 44:06And then you just pick up like a Mario Ferraro or.
- 44:08Literally, yeah. Listen, I think it was.
- 44:11Super Mario. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 44:15But honestly, it's just really about people getting very
- 44:20impatient to start the season. That's why I think Gustafson is
- 44:23an actual realistic target for zeros because egress does have
- 44:27the name value. It's not like the Mulkin who's
- 44:29had a years of amazing production.
- 44:31And notice that I would call it a name value.
- 44:33It's like pedigree value because the name I think recently has
- 44:37stink. Yeah, but also the trade.
- 44:39I love when you can sell that to someone you're clearly look at
- 44:42the change in scenery made him into that knew he could be you
- 44:45know it's a great. Exactly what I'm saying yeah

- 45:16The Depressed Channel, Yeah. Yeah, you guys should enjoy just
- 45:19to go look at what the press channel is and just see me like
- 45:22talking to myself in there, being like my guys keep getting
- 45:25hurt, my opponents, guys keep getting picked up off waivers
- 45:27are dropping 4 points on me. The the formal nomenclature is
- 45:32fantasy sucks venting channel there you go the past like how
- 45:37messages are just Kevin being like this sucks.
- 45:41I hate everything Why is Matthew Olivier thing, but but it's it's
- 45:46a good place to to, you know, vent about your.
- 45:49Fantasy Matthew Olivia was actually funny because earlier
- 45:51that day I picked him up in a different league to stream just
- 45:54four hits, and I ended up getting the four points against
- 45:57my opponent. So I was like, what?
- 45:59I'd rather just know four points across the board, but at least I
- 46:03got some some, some share of it. Exactly, exactly.
- 46:07You've lost. But what caused vibes?
