- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark at Homemark Review Podcast. I'm Megan,
- 0:13Speaker 1: and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy, a former
- 0:17Speaker 1: Hallmark hater. On today's episode, we're discussing The Way Home
- 0:21Speaker 1: Season four, episode three, titled dust in the Wind, which
- 0:25Speaker 1: originally premiered on the Hallmark Channel on Sunday May third,
- 0:28Speaker 1: and is currently available to stream on Hallmark Plus. We
- 0:31Speaker 1: do have a Facebook group full of people who take
- 0:33Speaker 1: Hallmark just as seriously as we do, which is to say,
- 0:36Speaker 1: very seriously and in most cases more seriously than we do.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You can find a link to that group in the
- 0:43Speaker 1: show notes, or you can just find it on Facebook
- 0:44Speaker 1: by searching Girls Gone Hallmark. Hey, here's your chance to
- 0:48Speaker 1: jump into our the Way Home mail bag. You guys
- 0:53Speaker 1: are delivering with your emails and your voice smells, so
- 0:58Speaker 1: if you want to send something to be included in
- 1:02Speaker 1: next week's mail bag specific to the Way Home, email us,
- 1:06Speaker 1: we are a Hello at Girls Gone Hallmark dot com
- 1:09Speaker 1: and what's our phone number? Nine four nine three two
- 1:12Speaker 1: nine eight zero nine zero. Also, while we're talking about that,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I would like to address on the first listener mail bag,
- 1:20Speaker 1: we played a voicemail of someone who was a little
- 1:24Speaker 1: bit upset with us for calling a moment a coincidence
- 1:28Speaker 1: and suggesting that maybe we weren't giving the writers their due.
- 1:31Speaker 1: That person did call back and say that they were
- 1:34Speaker 1: so sorry that they had offended us. Oh, and I
- 1:37Speaker 1: would just like to say, we're not carrying that with us. No,
- 1:40Speaker 1: we were just having a moment where we felt like
- 1:42Speaker 1: everyone was coming from us on the heels of some
- 1:45Speaker 1: negative reviews. So, yeah, I can't respond because all I
- 1:49Speaker 1: have is a phone number and I'm not going to
- 1:51Speaker 1: call this person and I have an email. I can't respond
- 1:53Speaker 1: and be like, oh my gosh, please don't give it
- 1:54Speaker 1: another thought. So I wanted to address it here. Oh no, yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 1: I no, no, no, no, no, no no. Complete news
- 2:02Speaker 1: and notes about this show are available on Girls Gone
- 2:05Speaker 1: Hallmark dot com in the show notes for each episode,
- 2:07Speaker 1: and of course that is also linked in the show
- 2:10Speaker 1: notes in whatever podcast app you're currently listening on, so
- 2:13Speaker 1: you can check those out. Hey, Wendy hit me with
- 2:15Speaker 1: the synopsis for episode three. Cadon Elliott plan a romantic
- 2:20Speaker 1: getaway while Alice tries to gather more clues. Meanwhile, Dell
- 2:25Speaker 1: and Sam get a surprise visit from Elliott's father, Vick. Hey, Wendy,
- 2:30Speaker 1: what's your first impression of this episode? So Vic's been
- 2:34Speaker 1: terrible for years and now I'm supposed to feel bad
- 2:36Speaker 1: for him because I kind of do. Oh. My first
- 2:40Speaker 1: impression is I did not have a Vic redemption story
- 2:43Speaker 1: on my bingo card. Totally. We're going to get into it.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I think, actually right now, let's talk about Vic's return
- 2:52Speaker 1: to Port Haven. Let's talk about it. So we're going
- 2:54Speaker 1: to break this down into our main plot points, and
- 2:57Speaker 1: that is a big one. Vic hot to Dell and
- 3:02Speaker 1: it's like, what have you done? What did you tell Elliott?
- 3:05Speaker 1: Elliott's asking all these questions, and obviously like Vic is
- 3:09Speaker 1: freaking out about some of this information coming to light,
- 3:13Speaker 1: which is so dumb. Yeah, honestly it does. None of
- 3:16Speaker 1: this is really like the reveal doesn't reflect badly on Vic. No,
- 3:20Speaker 1: so I don't unless he's embarrassed perhaps, And I think
- 3:26Speaker 1: there's some merit in that he eventually gets to a
- 3:31Speaker 1: nice conversation with Elliott and he's basically like he's been
- 3:35Speaker 1: hurt too by her leaving, and I think maybe heads
- 3:39Speaker 1: carried that for a long time, and so maybe he
- 3:42Speaker 1: just didn't want that exposed to Elliott, and now he's
- 3:45Speaker 1: mad at Dell. First of all, I feel like both
- 3:49Speaker 1: Elliott and Vic have misdirected anger at Dell in this episode. Yes,
- 3:57Speaker 1: for just She's like, here it is and neither of
- 4:01Speaker 1: them are happy receiving the truth. Yeah, so we learned
- 4:06Speaker 1: that Elliott is still not speaking to Dell, and so
- 4:12Speaker 1: here's where my head is with the Vic of it all.
- 4:16Speaker 1: He and Elliott have it out towards the end of
- 4:17Speaker 1: this episode and he's like, your mother left and like
- 4:20Speaker 1: I've never forgiven her for that. Basically he's like, but
- 4:23Speaker 1: the worst part of it is like she didn't even
- 4:25Speaker 1: leave you with me. She left you with the Landrys.
- 4:29Speaker 1: And Elliot's well, maybe she didn't mean what you thought
- 4:31Speaker 1: by that. Like Elliott is kind of absolving him of
- 4:33Speaker 1: some of this guilt that he's had, and he's like
- 4:35Speaker 1: he's trying to defend her almost and almost trying to
- 4:38Speaker 1: assuage vixed feelings about and I get that, Like I
- 4:41Speaker 1: can only imagine as a parent if your co parent
- 4:44Speaker 1: were like I'm leaving and I'm not even willing to
- 4:46Speaker 1: leave our kid with you. That's how much I hate you. Yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 1: that's rough. But here's where my brain goes. Vic and
- 4:53Speaker 1: Elliott are so mad at Dell for not telling did
- 4:56Speaker 1: this story exist three seasons ago? When in the writing
- 4:59Speaker 1: process did the writers decide that Tessa was going to
- 5:02Speaker 1: have have left Vic? She's not dead, she left him
- 5:06Speaker 1: for another man. Vic's always been bad? Have we always
- 5:09Speaker 1: known that Vic? Like this was Vic's origin story? Because
- 5:13Speaker 1: in season three, to me, vix villain origin story is
- 5:17Speaker 1: like he was like the younger brother that the kids
- 5:20Speaker 1: were never nice to, and then his brother dies and
- 5:23Speaker 1: he kind of just like grew up in this unhappy household.
- 5:27Speaker 1: So I don't know. Part of some of me is like,
- 5:28Speaker 1: are we retconning some of those I think that story?
- 5:32Speaker 1: I think you're right, Yeah, I would. I would be
- 5:34Speaker 1: interested to hear from viewers who have recently, like watched
- 5:38Speaker 1: the show the whole series again and have them way
- 5:42Speaker 1: in on is this a full one to eighty on
- 5:45Speaker 1: the Vic character?
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 5:46Speaker 1: I agree? And is it believable?
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yes?
- 5:49Speaker 1: Exactly. One of the biggest moments between the Elliott and
- 5:52Speaker 1: Vic conversation, as Elliott says to him, how do you
- 5:55Speaker 1: know she's dead? She left, she never came back, and
- 5:58Speaker 1: Vic shows him a less. Basically, she says, I don't
- 6:01Speaker 1: have much time left, and this seems like a fitting punishment.
- 6:07Speaker 1: This is like classic misdirection, like I don't have much
- 6:09Speaker 1: time left doesn't necessarily mean that she's dying. It might
- 6:14Speaker 1: maybe she is dead. Do you assume she's dead? No,
- 6:18Speaker 1: I don't think she's dead. I think I think. Okay,
- 6:21Speaker 1: I'm like having a realization in real time here, maybe
- 6:24Speaker 1: in a second. This episode was a lot about Alice
- 6:27Speaker 1: aging out of uh huh eras I guess, and so
- 6:32Speaker 1: maybe that had something to do with Tessa too, like
- 6:35Speaker 1: she didn't have I don't know, maybe she was aging
- 6:38Speaker 1: out of that era and that's why she didn't have
- 6:41Speaker 1: much time left and had to I don't know. I
- 6:43Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe yeah, I don't know. My biggest takeaway
- 6:46Speaker 1: from that scene is Elliott is like, this is a
- 6:50Speaker 1: typed letter? How do you even know this is from her?
- 6:53Speaker 1: A typed letter? Who else has received type letters? We've
- 6:59Speaker 1: thought for you know, a full season now that Danny
- 7:02Speaker 1: was responsible for maybe the type of letters that were
- 7:05Speaker 1: being sent to Dell. Maybe it's been Tessa all along
- 7:08Speaker 1: or no, because their ring came with this letter. So
- 7:11Speaker 1: I don't know, right, but maybe it's maybe it's Griffin
- 7:16Speaker 1: who sent that letter with the ring, yeah, or being Sam.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Before Vic comes back, Elliott is so upset with Dell.
- 7:24Speaker 1: He's like, I need to get out of here. I
- 7:25Speaker 1: need a break. So he and Kat are going to
- 7:27Speaker 1: go on a romantic getaway to his friend his colleague's cabin.
- 7:32Speaker 1: The cabin's not all that. It's very fishy, and so
- 7:36Speaker 1: it's not quite the romantic getaway he was hoping to have.
- 7:40Speaker 1: But of course he has a ring with him. Okay,
- 7:42Speaker 1: let me stop you there. I was confused because I
- 7:45Speaker 1: swear in like episode one maybe two from this season,
- 7:50Speaker 1: he's talking to Dell about like he's planning this big
- 7:53Speaker 1: thing like I thought it was. I said he had
- 7:55Speaker 1: something else planned. He says something at the end of summer, right, yeah, yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 1: And I thought he's had, like am I having a
- 8:02Speaker 1: fever dream? Like he had hired somebody or somebody was
- 8:05Speaker 1: available for something special, like they were going to do
- 8:08Speaker 1: something special. I don't know if it was like a
- 8:10Speaker 1: musician or like a something was available. I can't remember
- 8:14Speaker 1: the exact details, but I was a little surprised when
- 8:18Speaker 1: he was like, oh, he had the ring, and I
- 8:20Speaker 1: was like, this is where he's going to do it.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I know, I was surprised too. I didn't remember the
- 8:24Speaker 1: details of what he told Dell, but I just I
- 8:27Speaker 1: remember something about the end of summer. But maybe he
- 8:30Speaker 1: said by the end of summer, or maybe the end
- 8:32Speaker 1: of summer is not the proposal that we thought. Maybe
- 8:34Speaker 1: something else is happening. I don't I don't know what
- 8:37Speaker 1: did you think about it? Kind of was like, oh, no,
- 8:40Speaker 1: these two are not on the same page, Elliott and Kat.
- 8:44Speaker 1: You know, he's talking about expanding their family, having kids,
- 8:48Speaker 1: and she's just like, you know, she's in a transition
- 8:50Speaker 1: of life where her one and only is headed off
- 8:53Speaker 1: to college and can you even imagine like starting all
- 8:56Speaker 1: over again and doing that again? Like I think she
- 8:59Speaker 1: needs a room to breathe. But because Kat's character would
- 9:03Speaker 1: be thirty six, because she was eighteen when she had Alice, right, Okay, Yeahan,
- 9:08Speaker 1: so she's certainly like they could have children. But I
- 9:12Speaker 1: also understood Kat's point of view, like you're launching your
- 9:15Speaker 1: baby and now you want me to start all over
- 9:19Speaker 1: from the beginning. And I understand Elliott too, like, well,
- 9:23Speaker 1: I've never had that experience, so I was glad when
- 9:26Speaker 1: she comes back and she's like, look, you just threw
- 9:28Speaker 1: me off. I just need a moment to see where
- 9:30Speaker 1: I'm landing with this. Yeah, I'm glad. They circled back
- 9:32Speaker 1: to the conversation and she's like, it's I'm not It
- 9:35Speaker 1: doesn't end here, it's just to be continued. Yeah, let's
- 9:39Speaker 1: talk about the book she finds. Of course, Kat finds
- 9:42Speaker 1: a book that has to do specifically with Grace and Goodwin.
- 9:46Speaker 1: The colleague's cabin is full of historical tidbits that she
- 9:51Speaker 1: of course, she's drawn to and opens the book right away.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It's like a picture of Grace and Goodwin, which she
- 9:57Speaker 1: takes a picture of with her phone. M you know,
- 10:01Speaker 1: I guess like her suspicions are really up about Grace
- 10:04Speaker 1: and Goodwin, that he's a bad guy, and she's kind
- 10:08Speaker 1: of perturbed that the narrative is that the Goodwins have
- 10:13Speaker 1: been like these heroes for poor Haven. Yeah, and she
- 10:17Speaker 1: knows there's more to the story, right, how do you
- 10:20Speaker 1: think this is going to play out? I wish I
- 10:23Speaker 1: had a guess. When I saw her take that picture,
- 10:25Speaker 1: I paused for a minute and I was thinking, obviously,
- 10:29Speaker 1: this picture is going to play a role. There's no
- 10:31Speaker 1: reason for her to take a picture of the picture
- 10:33Speaker 1: if it's not going to be something she references later.
- 10:36Speaker 1: But I couldn't get there. Do you have a theory?
- 10:39Speaker 1: Not really.
- 10:39Speaker 2: No.
- 10:40Speaker 1: It makes me a little bit concerned, and like this
- 10:42Speaker 1: is episode three, I'm feeling the same way I am
- 10:45Speaker 1: feeling there. We're still in set up mode. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Do you have anything more to say about Kat and
- 10:51Speaker 1: Elliott here? No other than when we get to cat
- 10:54Speaker 1: to nineteen twenty five, the precursor to her heading back. Yeah, yeah, Dylan, Sam, Yeah,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I gotta tell you the horse is back, baby, Okay,
- 11:04Speaker 1: put my clown makeup on, y'all, Like they come riding
- 11:09Speaker 1: in on their horses and then the horse freaks out,
- 11:12Speaker 1: miarish to the pond. Come on, you cannot tell me
- 11:16Speaker 1: that either the horse has some significance or the riders
- 11:20Speaker 1: know that some people are still talking about the horse
- 11:22Speaker 1: and they're playing with our emotion. I love to think that,
- 11:25Speaker 1: like the riders are like, listen, let's put the freaking
- 11:28Speaker 1: horse in here, and Megan from Girls on Homework whip out.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I don't think I'm the only person still talking about
- 11:34Speaker 1: the horse. But Sam's like, oh, maybe it's the pond.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I'm like, maybe it's the pond. Did the horse fall
- 11:40Speaker 1: through the pond? I don't know. I thought at one
- 11:42Speaker 1: point you were thinking that the horse was like some
- 11:45Speaker 1: sort of travel yes, because Dell was so connected with
- 11:48Speaker 1: the horse and she felt like it was so much
- 11:50Speaker 1: like a horse from her past. I don't know, man,
- 11:53Speaker 1: I did think this was funny though. How Sam's like,
- 11:57Speaker 1: like you said, He's like, what's the pond? And She's like,
- 11:59Speaker 1: how do you know about the pond? I was like,
- 12:00Speaker 1: it's not iniceable. I'm like, don't people like realize that
- 12:04Speaker 1: there's like a body of water out in the woods
- 12:07Speaker 1: like I would. I would think that they would know
- 12:09Speaker 1: if they live adjacent there. It's not that far away
- 12:12Speaker 1: because Alice and Kata run into it all day long. Yeah, exactly.
- 12:15Speaker 1: The only other key thing that I noticed here is
- 12:18Speaker 1: Sam does invite Dell to move in with him, and
- 12:20Speaker 1: he's like, well, I'm to live next door. But we've
- 12:22Speaker 1: never seen Sam's house, have we? Yeah? No, Dell don't
- 12:26Speaker 1: move in with him. Yeah, something's not right about Sam.
- 12:29Speaker 1: But they seem real, real happy. They do seem happy.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Part of me, though, I was like, is this just
- 12:35Speaker 1: a Is Sam a red herring? Maybe? Yes, he's everything
- 12:40Speaker 1: he says seems suspicious, but I bet it turns out
- 12:45Speaker 1: to be nothing. Even though nothing, you think he's just
- 12:48Speaker 1: a present day dude with no connection to any of
- 12:50Speaker 1: these people from the past at all. No, I don't
- 12:53Speaker 1: think that. I think Sam is Griffin. You texted me
- 12:57Speaker 1: while you were watching and I was like, tell me more,
- 12:59Speaker 1: and you're like, I don't have more. No, I don't
- 13:01Speaker 1: have more. I literally it was like I was watching
- 13:03Speaker 1: this horse scene and I was like, oh, I think
- 13:05Speaker 1: Sam is Griffin, and I don't know why other than
- 13:08Speaker 1: like we have Fern saying that Griffin disappears and reappears, right,
- 13:14Speaker 1: do you remember that scene? And it's when Alice is
- 13:17Speaker 1: in seventy eight, But she was like, oh, Griffin like
- 13:20Speaker 1: disappears and he comes and goes through time. And then
- 13:24Speaker 1: we have Kat saying like, oh, yep, mom is right.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Like I can't find any record of Griffin since the
- 13:30Speaker 1: early two thousands. What do we know about Sam's timeline?
- 13:34Speaker 1: We know he travels to Toronto back and forth, but
- 13:37Speaker 1: we don't know anything else about him, so like, did
- 13:40Speaker 1: he become Sam in the early two thousands. I don't know,
- 13:45Speaker 1: the connections are getting are getting confusing, Yes, but yes,
- 13:49Speaker 1: I think Sam as Griffin makes more sense than Sam
- 13:52Speaker 1: as Grayson for sure. I just they look alike as all.
- 13:57Speaker 1: But don't you think, now that we've got eyes on
- 14:00Speaker 1: young Griffin, don't you think he kind of looks like
- 14:02Speaker 1: Sam too? Oh? I didn't have that thought, but I'll
- 14:08Speaker 1: look more carefully. Okay, we didn't. That's not really in
- 14:12Speaker 1: my notes anywhere. The opening scene Griffin returning with Alice
- 14:17Speaker 1: and Colton yea, And really all that does is set
- 14:21Speaker 1: up that Griffin's just like this freewheel and cool dude
- 14:24Speaker 1: who blows with the wind, and Colton is not all
- 14:29Speaker 1: that impressed with him, and Griffin thinks Alice is dell
- 14:33Speaker 1: and just setting up the contention between the brothers. Yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 1: Colton is like super resentful towards Yes, you know, it's
- 14:39Speaker 1: like I've been here taking care of the farm and Fern.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Back to Cat and Elliott the end of their time together.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Before Vic and Elliott speak, Kat notices something in a photo,
- 14:53Speaker 1: the torn photo of Tessa, and she realizes that Fern
- 14:59Speaker 1: is wearing the same bracelet in our audition video that
- 15:01Speaker 1: Tessa is wearing in the photo, and she's like, I
- 15:04Speaker 1: gotta go, and she takes off and she jumped into
- 15:07Speaker 1: the pond hot and she comes out, and of course
- 15:10Speaker 1: Fern is right there, and Fern's like, oh, what good timing.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I was just putting a bag here for you with clothes,
- 15:15Speaker 1: and she's like, show me the bracelet. Yeah, she out
- 15:20Speaker 1: she's getting some stop that bus energy. Fern's like, what
- 15:24Speaker 1: are you talking about? Do you believe Fern? I found
- 15:28Speaker 1: Fern so charming in the last episode, and this episode
- 15:32Speaker 1: has me really concerned about who Kat is getting involved with. Yeah,
- 15:36Speaker 1: especially at the end. Yeah, So, no, Fern knows a
- 15:41Speaker 1: whole lot more than she's letting Kat in on. I
- 15:46Speaker 1: don't know how the bracelet and Tessa all comes together,
- 15:50Speaker 1: no same. I have not even a theory on it,
- 15:55Speaker 1: no idea, But Fern concerns me. Fern concerns me too.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Fern gives me like you and danger girl vibes at
- 16:03Speaker 1: the end here, Yeah, you know, they go to this
- 16:06Speaker 1: speakeasy and I just want to say the casting the
- 16:09Speaker 1: way Bianca Malchi are to me, she's the perfect Fern.
- 16:12Speaker 1: When she starts dancing in that speakeasy. It's perfection to me.
- 16:16Speaker 1: It's also a little manic. Yeah, we have this like
- 16:20Speaker 1: in between they go outside to get a little air
- 16:22Speaker 1: and Cliff comes and gives them a little warning. Kind
- 16:24Speaker 1: of very interesting that Cliff, the temperance in sector is
- 16:27Speaker 1: not all that concerned about their bad behavior. Two times now. Yeah,
- 16:31Speaker 1: Like they toss their drinks and he's like, there's going
- 16:34Speaker 1: to be a raid, so get out of here, and
- 16:36Speaker 1: Fern's like, I walk on the wild side and Kat.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I was like, Kat, you got to get out of here,
- 16:41Speaker 1: Like getting in trouble would be a big problem for you,
- 16:44Speaker 1: not from this century. But it's that tainted love scene.
- 16:47Speaker 1: It's so good. Here's what's funny to me is she
- 16:49Speaker 1: starts singing and I was like, oh, I know that song.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And then I see Kat's face and I'm like in
- 16:54Speaker 1: my notes, I'm like, Kat's face is clocking something and
- 16:56Speaker 1: I was not clocking it. And I was like, oh,
- 17:00Speaker 1: that's not I forgot where we were. We're not in
- 17:02Speaker 1: this time period. Fern should not know that song. Yeah,
- 17:07Speaker 1: And this is when Fern starts to scare me, and
- 17:10Speaker 1: she's like, you know things, you're asking too many questions, Yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 1: it's scary. Now, let's talk about Tainted Love for a second. Yes,
- 17:17Speaker 1: So Tainted Love is the song that plays on the
- 17:21Speaker 1: radio in episode one where Rita's like, oh, you guys
- 17:24Speaker 1: remember this song, and then Della has her auditory memory
- 17:28Speaker 1: of like an argument or a fight or something. Right,
- 17:31Speaker 1: it's a good memory you have there, I googled. Okay,
- 17:35Speaker 1: so Kat confronts again Cat coming in hot here, she
- 17:39Speaker 1: confronts from She's like, how do you know that song?
- 17:41Speaker 1: The song doesn't exist for another sixty years, blah blah
- 17:44Speaker 1: blah whatever. Right, So Tainted Love came out in nineteen
- 17:47Speaker 1: eighty one, So this means someone want someone would have
- 17:53Speaker 1: had to visit Fern after nineteen eighty one to teach
- 17:57Speaker 1: Fern that song or future time travel is possible, and
- 18:02Speaker 1: Fern picked up that song, yes after eighty one, which
- 18:06Speaker 1: what's your guests? There are a lot of people who
- 18:08Speaker 1: are theorizing that there's something out there that's going to
- 18:10Speaker 1: unlock future time travel, the clock or something else. I mean,
- 18:14Speaker 1: we've been dancing around it for a whole season. Last
- 18:19Speaker 1: last season, we thought the clock had something to do
- 18:22Speaker 1: with the future. So and I believe Casey is from
- 18:28Speaker 1: the future too, sure, but Casey is traveling travel Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 18:33Speaker 1: I don't know. I think there's going to be an
- 18:36Speaker 1: element of future travel because if you recall, it was
- 18:39Speaker 1: Elliott who was like, well, here are the rules of
- 18:42Speaker 1: the pond. Yes, future time travel is not possible. What
- 18:46Speaker 1: does Elliott know? True? So I think everybody who's like
- 18:50Speaker 1: who says viewers, I'm talking about viewers who's in and
- 18:53Speaker 1: the people of port Haven who say future time travel
- 18:57Speaker 1: is not possible, we don't know for a fact for sure. Sure,
- 19:01Speaker 1: it's all based off of Elliott's scientific theories. It's a
- 19:04Speaker 1: time traveling pond. I think deciding anything is too much
- 19:07Speaker 1: of a fact is probably a bad idea exactly. So
- 19:12Speaker 1: if somebody came back and taught for in that song,
- 19:14Speaker 1: who would have done that? Who knows? Right? No, I
- 19:17Speaker 1: don't know. So this was very interesting. I liked all
- 19:21Speaker 1: of it. But then you're right, this is where Fern
- 19:24Speaker 1: gets scary. Where Kat's clearly drugged. Yes, this is not
- 19:29Speaker 1: a she's not having like she's not blacking out from
- 19:31Speaker 1: drinking too much. She hasn't drank that much. Like she's
- 19:34Speaker 1: clearly drugged. Something that's happening quickly to her. Yes, and
- 19:38Speaker 1: then we have Cliff and Fern standing over her, and
- 19:41Speaker 1: Fern says like, what are we going to do with you,
- 19:43Speaker 1: Kitty Kat? And I was like, oh no, this feels ominous. Yeah,
- 19:47Speaker 1: she's not defending her at all. Ferne's mask hats draw.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You know, I'm sorry I forgot when Kat confronts her
- 19:54Speaker 1: about the song and Fern's like, asking these kinds of
- 19:57Speaker 1: questions is going to get you killed? Kat, Like, it's
- 19:59Speaker 1: too dangerous. I forgot that part. So do you think
- 20:03Speaker 1: maybe she's worried about Cat. Maybe maybe friend's not bad.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Maybe she's worried about Cat coming around and asking too
- 20:10Speaker 1: many questions and like the Augie brothers like trying to
- 20:13Speaker 1: plot some you know, to hurt somebody or get rid
- 20:17Speaker 1: of somebody, And so maybe she's just trying to get
- 20:19Speaker 1: Kat like out of the picture. Well, the Augi brothers,
- 20:23Speaker 1: they say Cat overhears them say they need to get
- 20:25Speaker 1: rid of him and they need to handle it now.
- 20:28Speaker 1: This makes me think because Kat relais his information to Fern,
- 20:31Speaker 1: who looks concerned, but then she kind of brushes it off.
- 20:34Speaker 1: This makes me think back to the theory that Tessa
- 20:38Speaker 1: is living as a man. Oh yeah, so they say
- 20:41Speaker 1: get rid of him. I don't know. I don't know, God,
- 20:46Speaker 1: I don't know who could they be referring to. We
- 20:48Speaker 1: haven't seen anybody who in the twenty five who is
- 20:52Speaker 1: suspicious other than Kat and Cliff. Who is there? I
- 20:55Speaker 1: mean Cliff is not Tessa, right, so Cliff is not Tessa.
- 20:59Speaker 1: There's Did you notice there's a woman they kind of
- 21:01Speaker 1: focus on in the bar and at one point she
- 21:03Speaker 1: like pushes past Kat to get closer to Fern at
- 21:06Speaker 1: the end of one of Ferne's songs. Yes, but they don't.
- 21:09Speaker 1: There's no Cat doesn't bump on her, nobody else reacts
- 21:13Speaker 1: to her. They don't. I just because that's how I'm
- 21:16Speaker 1: watching this thought. Is there something about that woman? But
- 21:19Speaker 1: I don't know. She certainly doesn't look like teenage Tessah, yeah,
- 21:23Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm gonna have to go back and
- 21:25Speaker 1: look now, Okay, I don't know. But in the end,
- 21:27Speaker 1: we do not get any answers on the bracelet. No, no,
- 21:33Speaker 1: we do not, and Cat wakes up in jail.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Cat, Hello, did I do that exactly? Oh KT, what
- 21:42Speaker 2: have you done?
- 21:52Speaker 1: Alice goes to nineteen seventy eight. This this breaks my
- 21:55Speaker 1: heart because Evie is so alone. Well that there's there's
- 22:00Speaker 1: a lot about this that breaks my heart. Okay, Evie's
- 22:03Speaker 1: alone raising this baby. I felt when Alice shows up
- 22:06Speaker 1: and she's like desperately trying to clean up the house
- 22:09Speaker 1: and trying to be cool. Evie again, I really felt
- 22:12Speaker 1: for her. She's like, I just don't want to be
- 22:14Speaker 1: a mom. She's don't want to be a boring mom.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I just want to be a boring mom. She does
- 22:18Speaker 1: need to love her baby. But the most heartbreaking thing
- 22:21Speaker 1: about this time travel for me was Alice realizing that
- 22:25Speaker 1: their time is traveling too fast. She's missing too much
- 22:28Speaker 1: and she can't explain why she does an age along
- 22:32Speaker 1: with them, and so she thinks she's going to start
- 22:35Speaker 1: losing them. And it would certainly stand to reason that
- 22:38Speaker 1: that's the case, because for one, she can't grow up
- 22:41Speaker 1: with them, other than wise Dell would know who she is, right,
- 22:45Speaker 1: there has to be a you know, a time period
- 22:47Speaker 1: in which Alice stops visitting. But that it breaks my
- 22:49Speaker 1: heart because Alice. When I see Alice a teenage cold
- 22:51Speaker 1: and I said this last week, I always forget that
- 22:53Speaker 1: that's her grandfather, and I feel like she's clinging to
- 22:56Speaker 1: the moments with him that she can get and she
- 22:59Speaker 1: wants to play Muti with him, and he has to
- 23:02Speaker 1: get home to Dell, and I just it's it's sad, yeah,
- 23:08Speaker 1: when she has the conversation with Dell at the end
- 23:11Speaker 1: of the episode and says like, I think it might
- 23:13Speaker 1: be my last time there, you know, because I'm I'm
- 23:17Speaker 1: aging out, And it's what happened with young Cat and
- 23:20Speaker 1: young Elliott too. It's sad because Alice makes these relationships,
- 23:26Speaker 1: these connections of her younger self, and then it ends.
- 23:29Speaker 1: It's you know, and she has to grieve like those
- 23:32Speaker 1: moments ending, and especially harder with Colton because Colton is
- 23:36Speaker 1: now dead. So it's really sad. I think so too.
- 23:39Speaker 1: It's really sad. In Alice's return, we meet young Tessa again.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Tessa comes to the table, she is their waitress. At
- 23:48Speaker 1: the point, Alice Nochell She's just is like locked in
- 23:51Speaker 1: on Tessa, like she's surprised that Tessa is there, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: she's asking Tessa like, oh, we met previously a couple
- 24:00Speaker 1: of years ago. You were a summer folk then, yeah,
- 24:04Speaker 1: but it would have been four years earlier. That she
- 24:06Speaker 1: met her, was it? I did, Yeah, because it was
- 24:09Speaker 1: two years ago that she was in last episode, and
- 24:12Speaker 1: then it was two years before that that she met
- 24:15Speaker 1: Like she's jumped four years at this point like that. Yeah, yeah, well,
- 24:18Speaker 1: I do think like the actor the actress who played
- 24:22Speaker 1: young Tessa in those earlier scenes is not the same gal. Obviously,
- 24:26Speaker 1: I agree, And I also think this answers the question
- 24:28Speaker 1: somebody showed sent in a side by side photo from
- 24:31Speaker 1: the preview saying, how is she so much older? Will
- 24:34Speaker 1: this answers our question? We're talking about a twelve year
- 24:36Speaker 1: old and a sixteen year old, right. Tessa recites a
- 24:40Speaker 1: Alice in Wonderland quote, which Alice picks up and says
- 24:45Speaker 1: something about like, oh, I just thought it was fitting.
- 24:47Speaker 1: But I also like can recognize a wayward which he's
- 24:51Speaker 1: called her a wayward direct traveler, fellow fellow wayward soul
- 24:54Speaker 1: when I see one. Yeah, I mean dropping the hints
- 24:58Speaker 1: hit her over the head, right, But it's probably just
- 25:02Speaker 1: like it's probably just red Herring. It's the seventies, man,
- 25:05Speaker 1: I know exactly. But in a weird twist, Alice sees
- 25:09Speaker 1: Tessa steal money from the register. I didn't see that
- 25:13Speaker 1: coming at all. She gets a sh in return. Yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 1: so is this telling us that Tessa is what desperate?
- 25:23Speaker 1: Is she not a good person? Is she what? I
- 25:27Speaker 1: don't know what it's telling us yet. We also meet
- 25:30Speaker 1: young Vic and we have the Vic and Tessa origin story. Yeah,
- 25:34Speaker 1: this was really funny. I thought this scene was really funny. Actually.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I like how Tessa's like, you're really nice. You should
- 25:40Speaker 1: let people see it more often. M hmm. And Colton
- 25:43Speaker 1: even tries to reach out, but hey, man, come on
- 25:46Speaker 1: over here. Colton being Colton and then Vic being Vic.
- 25:50Speaker 1: But Vic wasn't a jerk. He just was like, yeah,
- 25:52Speaker 1: I gotta go. If he would have been like nah,
- 25:55Speaker 1: bug off and then like walked away, that would have
- 25:57Speaker 1: been Vic being bitch. Sure. Yeah, he probably doesn't think
- 26:01Speaker 1: it's genuine. They haven't maintained a friendship. It doesn't seem
- 26:03Speaker 1: like since Rick's death. I thought that was great casting
- 26:06Speaker 1: of young Vic. I agree, same, same, same, same. And
- 26:09Speaker 1: then we get this one last scene of Alice in
- 26:12Speaker 1: seventy eight where she's hiding in the bushes listening to
- 26:15Speaker 1: Colton and Dell talk out by the fire and Della's
- 26:19Speaker 1: talking about they're basically struggling to get pregnant. It's been
- 26:23Speaker 1: three years and she hasn't been able to get pregnant.
- 26:26Speaker 1: And you know, it's kind of interesting because she's like,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I just want to be a mom, and then Alice
- 26:31Speaker 1: like here's that, and then like bounces, and I was like,
- 26:35Speaker 1: wait a minute, does this have anything to do with
- 26:37Speaker 1: baby Elliott ending up on their porch? Oh, because maybe
- 26:41Speaker 1: she doesn't realize that because she sees Dell hurting and
- 26:44Speaker 1: wanting a baby so bad, and then somehow like, oh,
- 26:46Speaker 1: there's this abandoned baby by the pond, and therefore let's
- 26:50Speaker 1: give it to Dell because Delle wants to be a
- 26:52Speaker 1: mom so bad. If I think back to that scene
- 26:55Speaker 1: where I don't think Dell has had Cat yet, No
- 26:58Speaker 1: she has, because when they come out onto the porch,
- 27:00Speaker 1: the baby, she's holding the baby. You're right, you're right, Okay,
- 27:06Speaker 1: never mind, I don't know. I just thought it was
- 27:08Speaker 1: interesting that why would they have Alice listening in on
- 27:11Speaker 1: this conversation. Well, of course put my clown nose back on.
- 27:15Speaker 1: I wondered if it means that Kat isn't their biological
- 27:18Speaker 1: grand Oh, oh my good, but Catsilandriancan time travel so
- 27:23Speaker 1: that doesn't make sense unless Griffin's her father. Ah what,
- 27:28Speaker 1: that would just be terrible. I don't, I don't. I
- 27:31Speaker 1: don't even want to go there me either. Let's talk
- 27:33Speaker 1: about Alex, Max and Noah. Noah, Noah's going to open
- 27:37Speaker 1: up brick and mortar Wally's Fish and Chips. I didn't
- 27:39Speaker 1: know there was like such a hot movement on fish
- 27:42Speaker 1: and chips right now, like a fish and chips restaurant. Well,
- 27:45Speaker 1: you and I had fish and chips when we were
- 27:46Speaker 1: in Reno, and honestly you slapped You're right, we did.
- 27:49Speaker 1: And I had fish and chips last time when I
- 27:51Speaker 1: was in London last spring, and it was a luscious
- 27:54Speaker 1: I would imagine on you know, these eastern coastal cities,
- 27:57Speaker 1: there's a there's a demand for that sort of you're probable, right,
- 28:00Speaker 1: I mean there's a demand in Orange Counties, sure, But
- 28:04Speaker 1: of course it's just they're getting no out of the way,
- 28:06Speaker 1: like he's got to move next week. Yeah, And Alice
- 28:10Speaker 1: is like, don't worry, we can make it work. And Max.
- 28:13Speaker 1: What's so interesting to me is Max is like, yo, bro,
- 28:15Speaker 1: this is a terrible idea. But what else does no
- 28:17Speaker 1: I have going on? Why wouldn't you want him to
- 28:19Speaker 1: build this business out? If Max is in love with Alice,
- 28:22Speaker 1: why doesn't he want no out of the picture. Yeah,
- 28:24Speaker 1: I don't know, because he doesn't want to see Alice hurt.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I guess maybe that means he genuinely cares about her
- 28:30Speaker 1: and not just about himself. Yeah, perhaps, Yeah, I mean
- 28:34Speaker 1: we are obviously it's very clear where we're heading here,
- 28:39Speaker 1: you know, because Noah's going to be out of the picture,
- 28:43Speaker 1: and now Max is gonna well, I don't want to
- 28:47Speaker 1: say Max is going to make his move. I think
- 28:49Speaker 1: like Alice and Max are going to organically. Do we
- 28:53Speaker 1: even know where Max is going to school in the fall?
- 28:55Speaker 1: He just keeps saying like, oh, big changes for us
- 28:57Speaker 1: in the fall. I don't remember. Did they say in
- 29:00Speaker 1: the first episode? Is he going to New York? Also?
- 29:02Speaker 1: I don't know, I can't remember. I did find it
- 29:05Speaker 1: funny at the beginning. Kat's like, did you guys ever
- 29:07Speaker 1: kissed other than that one time? And Alice's like, Mom, totally,
- 29:10Speaker 1: it's such a teenager reaction. You gotta hear. Mom. Max
- 29:15Speaker 1: finds Alice down at the pond and she's like, oh good.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Can you imagine if Kat had come like bursting out
- 29:20Speaker 1: of the pond with oh my god's down there seriously seriously,
- 29:25Speaker 1: and he's like, you have a swimming hole, let's go swimming. Yeah,
- 29:29Speaker 1: this is the first time Max has seen this pond too.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Give me a break, Max comes from money. You're telling
- 29:35Speaker 1: me there's no swimming pool at Lingermore. There is a
- 29:37Speaker 1: swimming pool at Lingamore because somebody fell in it during
- 29:40Speaker 1: that party in season one. It was like a fountain,
- 29:43Speaker 1: I think, but I think there was a swimming pool
- 29:45Speaker 1: there too. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Nevertheless, Alice's like, I can't.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I just loaded my hair and I was like, the
- 29:50Speaker 1: Vallid girl, that is valid. That's why I don't get
- 29:52Speaker 1: my hair wet in the summer unless it's hairwashed day.
- 29:55Speaker 1: And then, of course it takes Alice a minute to
- 29:57Speaker 1: come up, and I was like, oh no, how she
- 29:59Speaker 1: could explain this one away. It did take her quite
- 30:02Speaker 1: a long time. Do you think she time traveled and
- 30:04Speaker 1: then jumped back in No, okay, you just think that
- 30:07Speaker 1: was a dramatic pause, Yes, okay, yes, And then he's like,
- 30:11Speaker 1: let's go get something to eat. I'm like, in wet clothes. God,
- 30:13Speaker 1: I know what That's that's the thing about the show
- 30:17Speaker 1: that drives me the craziest. Like half the time, Alice
- 30:19Speaker 1: does not change her clothes. It's just says walking around
- 30:23Speaker 1: a wet jeans. I know, I know. I mean one
- 30:26Speaker 1: time I went to Disneyland and we rode the what
- 30:29Speaker 1: was Splash Mountain at the time, and I got so
- 30:31Speaker 1: wet and I was in jeans. I had to buy
- 30:32Speaker 1: a pair of sweats from the I was not going
- 30:35Speaker 1: to walk around in wet jeans for the rest of
- 30:38Speaker 1: the day. No, no, ma'am. But did you catch the
- 30:41Speaker 1: light moment between Max and Alice in the pond? I did? Yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 1: Like this is a second time, right, I think Alice
- 30:51Speaker 1: is do you okay? Do you think Alice is a
- 30:55Speaker 1: little bit worried that Max is her future and maybe
- 30:59Speaker 1: that's why she's like a little bit reluctant to Yeah,
- 31:02Speaker 1: I don't think she's forgotten. Even though Casey said that
- 31:04Speaker 1: they are not their child, that doesn't mean that Alison
- 31:08Speaker 1: Max don'e end up together, right? Yeah? Anyway, do you
- 31:12Speaker 1: have anything to say about the song dustin the Wind?
- 31:15Speaker 1: I don't. I looked it up this week. I don't.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I don't find any connection I'm sure there is one, though.
- 31:20Speaker 1: All I know is it is from nineteen seventy seven
- 31:22Speaker 1: and the album it's on is from the Point of
- 31:25Speaker 1: No Return. No, that's the name of the album. Mm
- 31:28Speaker 1: hmm know return. Okay. Here are some new questions that
- 31:32Speaker 1: were raised by this episode. Tessa's letter, who wrote it?
- 31:36Speaker 1: What's actually happening in that moment? How did that person
- 31:39Speaker 1: come to get the ring? How did Fern and Tessa
- 31:42Speaker 1: come to be wearing the same bracelet? Are these two connected?
- 31:45Speaker 1: Who is the person torn out of the photo with Tessa?
- 31:48Speaker 1: Vic does not know, he's never seen that photo before. Hey,
- 31:51Speaker 1: I'm going to stop you there. This is the first
- 31:52Speaker 1: time that I noticed that both photos are torn. Yes,
- 31:56Speaker 1: he's ripped out of both photos. Yes, yeah, you know
- 31:59Speaker 1: it's Griffin and one. Who are the Augustine boys plotting
- 32:02Speaker 1: to get rid of and is this connected back to
- 32:05Speaker 1: our linger More Tunnel mess? For instance, kat is asking
- 32:09Speaker 1: dangerous questions about the future connection. What does verno? I
- 32:13Speaker 1: mean vern knows that they're related? She says, yeah, we're
- 32:16Speaker 1: family words. What's going on with Tessa? She quotes allis
- 32:19Speaker 1: in Wonderland? She makes that Weyward soul connection is she
- 32:21Speaker 1: just like a super groovy chick. Is she a bad girl?
- 32:24Speaker 1: What is happening here? Who's biked Cat's drink? What's the endgame? There?
- 32:30Speaker 1: Is this truly the last time Alice is gonna see
- 32:32Speaker 1: the seventies gang. I'd be really sad if we're done
- 32:35Speaker 1: with them after episode three. I know what's going on
- 32:38Speaker 1: with the clock. That's not a new question, but it
- 32:40Speaker 1: is reintroduced. Your mom always said make a wish at
- 32:44Speaker 1: eleven eleven mm hmm, yeah, stam casually saying maybe it's
- 32:48Speaker 1: the pawn when Stormy freaks out. And finally, how is
- 32:51Speaker 1: Kat going to get out of nineteen twenty five jail?
- 32:54Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. Also, we didn't we
- 32:59Speaker 1: didn't talk about it, but that is a bullet casecene
- 33:02Speaker 1: that indeed Alice has, Kat confirms it. Why do you
- 33:06Speaker 1: have this? Yeah, the question was that's a good question,
- 33:10Speaker 1: and it also is like, is that what that is?
- 33:11Speaker 1: I didn't know? So still no, Casey, still know Nick. Again,
- 33:16Speaker 1: I don't care about them that much, but I would
- 33:17Speaker 1: like to close I care about Casey, don't care about Nick.
- 33:19Speaker 1: I would like to close those loops. Though, yes, I agree,
- 33:22Speaker 1: I feel like we need the like rocky music before
- 33:25Speaker 1: we get started, like running up the steps to hype
- 33:28Speaker 1: ourselves up to digging into all of this every episode. Hey,
