Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity, no topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:20Hello again friends, brothers and sisters, thank you so much for tuning in.
- 0:23We're going all the way to Australia for today's guest and it's such a blessing to reconnect
- 0:27with Pastor Dean Dwyer.
- 0:30He is again, the pastor of Isaac Street Baptist Church, the website,
- 0:35Isaac Street Baptist Church dot com in Toowoomba, Australia.
- 0:40So we're going to spend a lot of time in Harbinger's Daily Today because he is a great contributor
- 0:46there.
- 0:47And I also want to mention, for those of you that have missed maybe a handful of podcasts
- 0:51in the last week or so, we have now added two new speakers to the conference lineup that's
- 0:57Alex Newman with Liberty Sentinel and Brianna Clausen with Harbinger's Daily.
- 1:03She's the chief editor there and she is from Canada, but she'll become in a Green Bay
- 1:07Wisconsin for the conference May 1st and 2nd and we've got the website up and running.
- 1:13There it is, worldviewmattersconference.com, worldviewmattersconference.com, Dean Dwyer,
- 1:20it's a blessing to see your brother, thanks for your time today.
- 1:23Why is it privileged?
- 1:24Get out to everybody from the land down under.
- 1:28Yes, and before we were on getting on the podcast here, we had a conversation about just
- 1:34the leadership there which we will touch on and I'm sure it's very disappointing to you
- 1:38as an evangelical Christian who believes in the Bible and religious freedom to see what's
- 1:44happening with basically a communist and charge there as the prime minister, Anthony
- 1:50Albanese.
- 1:54There's two different articles we're going to get to.
- 1:56This is one that you wrote a couple of weeks ago.
- 1:59It didn't take long for Australia's pro-Palestine mob to reemerge with violent rhetoric.
- 2:06Let's get to this second.
- 2:08The first one we want to go to because there are some very interesting stats in this one
- 2:14over at also over at Harbinger's Daily.
- 2:17As Australia pushes Christian voices out of public debate, the nation is reaching a
- 2:23moral flashpoint.
- 2:25This is by Decision Magazine and it's at Harbinger's Daily.
- 2:29So Dean, let's just touch on this before we dive into yours, please.
- 2:32What?
- 2:33Just go ahead.
- 2:34Absolutely.
- 2:35Well, as you touched on, David, unfortunately Australia has been in a great spiritual and
- 2:40moral slide for the last number of decades.
- 2:43I mean, you go back to the Australia of 100 years ago.
- 2:48Australians and particularly Australian soldiers were very well respected around the world.
- 2:52Tough, uncompromising people who stood up for what is right, stood up for moral values
- 2:57and of course Christian values as well.
- 3:00Now in Israel in particular, Australians were very well respected.
- 3:04There's a memorial, a war memorial at Besheba because Australian soldiers were instrumental
- 3:10in pushing the Ottomans out of Israel, which then opened up obviously God's plan to reestablish
- 3:17Israel in its ancient homeland.
- 3:19So Australians, particularly amongst Israelis, have been really well respected from that
- 3:23point of view.
- 3:24And we see, if we apply the Genesis 12, 3 principle, that God had really blessed Australia
- 3:30because we were so instrumental in helping the rebirth of Israel in that plan.
- 3:37Now, subsequent to that, we see over the decades, like many Western nations, unfortunately
- 3:42and as the title says, as Christian voices are pushed out of the public square and you
- 3:47could argue in some cases and you've talked about this on the show before, in some cases
- 3:52we've retreated from the public square, in other cases we've been pushed out.
- 3:57So it's incumbent upon us to be able to identify which has happened because in a retreat
- 4:03scenario, obviously we bear the blame for not being as actively engaged in the cultural
- 4:10wars as we should be, but no doubt politicians have taken advantage of that very fact.
- 4:16And unfortunately, as we know in a spiritual vacuum, something else is going to fill it
- 4:21if Christianity withdraws.
- 4:24And so what we see now obviously is secular humanism.
- 4:27And as we touched on, some of the communistic principles that have come through because
- 4:32as Trevor Loudon has written about, Anthony Albanese has a very, very long history going
- 4:37back to his university days with communist activism.
- 4:42So he's carried this through obviously into his political career and very friendly with
- 4:47China.
- 4:48And so unfortunately, we see not only in some states in Australia, but also federally,
- 4:53we have Christianity pushed out and obviously secular humanism and some elements of communism
- 5:00coming to the fore.
- 5:02So as a Christian, obviously we hold some concern over the direction of the nation and
- 5:09above all else concern over the spiritual landscape of Australia and what this means
- 5:16in terms of going forward as Christian leaders, because we just don't feel that our voices
- 5:22are valued within the public square anymore and like many Western nations, that's been
- 5:27absolutely deliberate.
- 5:29But it's no less painful because we're pushing out the things that are life giving.
- 5:35We're pushing out the word of God.
- 5:37We're pushing out the words of life in favour of words really that bring no value, no substance
- 5:43to the human life and certainly no eternal value as well.
- 5:46So this is where we sit at the moment.
- 5:48It's really a finally balanced state in Australia.
- 5:54And so it's going to tip by the way and unfortunately, we see the scales tipping in favour of a
- 6:00radical kind of communist future.
- 6:03Yeah, and as you say, very interesting, the things happening at the same time, it's
- 6:08not just the church or people of faith withdrawing from culture and not standing up for the truth
- 6:15of God's word and biblical principles and values, religious freedom, things like that
- 6:18anymore.
- 6:19But the left, the enemies of God pushing Christians out of the public square.
- 6:25So these things are going hand in hand.
- 6:27They're happening at the same time.
- 6:29And that's what's really disappointing.
- 6:31Like you said, it's not just the left.
- 6:33Enemies of God have been at it, you know, for thousands of years, right?
- 6:39But also what I'm seeing, Dean, is what's happening in Australia.
- 6:45You had a communist leader or have, but he was reelected a couple years ago.
- 6:52And I'm thinking, boy, isn't there an interesting parallel with what just happened in New
- 6:55York City?
- 6:57Because America is very, we're in a dangerous place right now because we've got too many
- 7:03Christians over the decades have withdrawn from making the voices of truth, sanity, common
- 7:10sense, God's word in the gospel, known in culture, in their sphere of influence.
- 7:15Well, at the same time, enemies of God have pushed God out of every major institution,
- 7:21government, corporations, the university system, the education system, a Hollywood media.
- 7:27So we remove God and Christian influence.
- 7:31And the church has backed out.
- 7:32So we're not far behind.
- 7:34I hate to say it.
- 7:36Australia, your thoughts on that?
- 7:38Yeah, absolutely.
- 7:39And I mean, in Australia, Anthony Albanese, he was elected in 2022, reelected in 2025
- 7:46to the great surprise of many people because he didn't prove himself as a leader.
- 7:50He's not a leader.
- 7:52He is historically an activist, and that's where he's most comfortable.
- 7:56And what's been proven, particularly since the Bondi terrorist attack, he doesn't have
- 8:00leadership qualities.
- 8:01He shouldn't be anywhere near the Prime Ministerial Office.
- 8:03But what's most surprising, unlike America, where voting isn't mandatory in Australia,
- 8:08it is.
- 8:09So we really get a good snapshot of where the public mindset is when people go to the
- 8:16polls, because everybody is required to vote.
- 8:19And so I guess it just reinforces the fact that like in America, you know, you've got younger
- 8:24people who have this socialist mindset, who are thinking in their mind that, well, capitalism
- 8:30isn't working.
- 8:31So let's try something else.
- 8:33And I really think this is where the public are driving this conversation differently,
- 8:38because in their mind, and certainly within the education system here and no doubt in America,
- 8:43they've been led to believe that a capitalist society cannot succeed.
- 8:48That capitalism has failed the world, and we must there will go in another direction.
- 8:53And there you have it.
- 8:54Quite conveniently, here is socialism, communism, Marxism, which is now held up.
- 9:00It's almost as if it's been pre-planned that, OK, we'll let capitalism go so far, we'll
- 9:06allow it to fail, or we'll deliberately make it fail.
- 9:08So then we can come in with socialism, Marxism, communism.
- 9:13I mean, the cynic in all of us, David, would say that this has been planned, and there
- 9:18will be a collapse at some stage, and then obviously what will come in behind that is a Marxist
- 9:24society that nobody really wants, because I think people romanticize what socialism looks
- 9:29like, but as Margaret Thatcher used to say, the problem with socialism is eventually you
- 9:34run out of other people's money.
- 9:36True.
- 9:38Fact check true, throughout world history, fact check true.
- 9:43So Dean, I want to just quote you in an email, and then we'll talk about your article.
- 9:49You were talking about recently the pro-Palestinian movement, people that were protesting and chanting,
- 9:55and apparently they were saying things, maybe I'm just hearing this on the news reports
- 10:00in America, but in Australia, you said they were chanting all Zionists are terrorists.
- 10:08And you say how ironic that people aligned with an actual terrorist organization would
- 10:15accuse us of being terrorists, yet this is the Isaiah 520 world that we live in, where evil
- 10:21is called good, good is called evil.
- 10:24Just a little bit about that, because we know Satan is the father of lies, and the accuser
- 10:30of the brethren, and they're accusing us of being terrorists, it's kind of truth is
- 10:35flipped on its head.
- 10:36Go ahead and share whatever you like.
- 10:38Absolutely, it's the inversion, it's the moral inversion that we see and frustratingly
- 10:43we see throughout the world, but as you say, Isaiah 520 is in effect, and so sadly most
- 10:49of your listeners and viewers would be aware of the Bondi terrorist attack, which happened
- 10:53on the 14th of December.
- 10:55So things went quite, obviously we had the intervening Christmas period, and it seemed that the people
- 11:00who were so radical in leading these protests and attending these protests and being very
- 11:05vocal around their globalising the interferer, they seemed to go back retreat for a few weeks,
- 11:13and we thought that there might be some change, we thought that this event might have shocked
- 11:17the moral compass of some people into action, and that they would reflect on what they were
- 11:23doing and how this perpetuated violence, but very sadly, after the New Year, the pro-Palestinian
- 11:31protests have started up again, so just this at the time of recording, just our last Saturday,
- 11:36the 11th of January, there were more protests, and this was in Melbourne, and unfortunately
- 11:42we caught a new snippet where some guy was using a megaphone to shout all Zionists are terrorists.
- 11:49So as you said, David, it's deeply ironic, and that someone aligned with Hamas would
- 11:57a terrorist organisation, a declared terrorist organisation, would claim that Zionists,
- 12:02and let's not forget that we are Zionists, because Zionists is someone who believes that Israel
- 12:08has a right to be in their ancient homeland, and so unfortunately this is now the mindset,
- 12:15they seem to come up with these clever little slogans, and now they've come up with a new one,
- 12:20all Zionists are terrorists, and look, this again is just the evil of the satanically driven
- 12:27pro-Palestinian movement, it does not seem to rationalise what rhetoric it's spewing forward,
- 12:35and unfortunately they're not just offending Jews, but Remnant believers as well,
- 12:42who firmly put themselves in the Zionist camp. So according to them, we are now terrorists, David.
- 12:50Well, yeah, and when you remove truth, and when you don't really know all the facts,
- 12:56it's easy to fall for the propaganda, and that's what these, you know, enemies of God are
- 13:01putting out, now I'll just call it, it is a demonic movement. I want to quote from your articles,
- 13:06the students of Palestine, there was a visit from, I guess, someone from Israel, who was coming
- 13:16to visit. He's come, yeah, Isaac Herzog is scheduled to visit. He hasn't come yet, but he has
- 13:22really what whipped them into a frenzy. It seemed that they said awaken them from their slumber
- 13:28after Bondi, and so the moment they heard that Isaac Herzog had been invited by Anthony
- 13:35Albanese to come to Australia, which is more than fair enough. He's a Jewish leader, a head of
- 13:40state, who is being invited to Australia to visit the site of the worst terrorist attack on
- 13:47Australian soil, and it's against the Jewish community. The rational mind would say,
- 13:52that's more than fair, that's more than okay. He wants to pay his respects, he wants to
- 13:56encourage the Jewish community. But again, in the pro-Palestinian mindset, you see, what's happening
- 14:02is that they feel that they're fighting for the justice of the Palestinians. This is the warped
- 14:07mindset. They are equating the term globalised the Indifada as being equivalent to seeking justice
- 14:15for the Palestinians. The reality is that as we know, and as people have been warning about for
- 14:22a number of years now, the term globalised the Indifada is not a call to justice, it's a call to
- 14:29violence. And so this has been the frustration that Jewish community and a lot of Christian
- 14:34leaders have been warning governments, the world over, that this phrase will lead to violence.
- 14:40They didn't listen. And so unfortunately, on the 14th of December 2025 in Australia,
- 14:46it led to violence when two men picked up high-powered rifles and shotguns and sought an elevated
- 14:53position and fired upon peaceful Jewish families who were simply there at the beach side,
- 14:59beautiful Sunday night to light the first Hanukkah candle. Now this is evil. And anyone associated
- 15:06with the pro-Palestinian movement, this is a reckoning. You have to reflect on what's happened
- 15:12and your entire movement, and particularly the phrase globalised the Indifada, and see what
- 15:17this has led to. Now I know some police forces around the world, the UK in particular, have now
- 15:24recognised and some areas, some states have sought to ban the phrase, which is fantastic. But again,
- 15:31it took the blood of Jewish lives for people to get to this point. And this is what's most
- 15:38disappointing because we could see this happening. Nobody would take action. And now we see, and in some
- 15:47ways, we're pleased to see Anthony Albanese and some state leaders in Australia beginning to take
- 15:53action. But unfortunately, for the families that are grieving, it's too late.
- 15:58Yeah, and I just want to mention and have you respond a little bit further to the propaganda.
- 16:04What they put out there is really amazing. I'm referring to the students of Palestine.
- 16:08They said this amid these atrocities, the Australian political establishment
- 16:15is weaponising the Bondi massacre to crush Palestine's solidarity. How dare they?
- 16:25On its face, it's so ridiculous. But I guess they wouldn't say that if they didn't think
- 16:31enough people would maybe buy into it. Go ahead, Dean. Share your thoughts on that.
- 16:36Yeah, absolutely. I mean, and as you touched on before, David, this is the whole intention of
- 16:40propaganda. It takes people who are otherwise uneducated in a certain area. It fills them with
- 16:46something that seems genuine and seems true. And unfortunately, they just get swept up in the masses.
- 16:53And I mean, we had very large protests in Sydney and Melbourne with the bulk of the protests,
- 16:58because that is where the most of the Muslim presence is in Australia. And unfortunately,
- 17:04you've got Australians who, as I said, I'm not being nasty, but they're uneducated in this area.
- 17:12They don't know the history of Israel. I mean, the pro-Palestinian movement is a case of
- 17:18identity theft. How would you like it if someone came into your home, took all of your possessions,
- 17:24took your identity, recognised that you'd been living there for all of your life,
- 17:29but they come along in the last few years and say, look, you get out, I'm going to take over
- 17:34your life now. I'm the true occupants and owner of this place. And the police are there just saying,
- 17:39well, we support this guy who's come along at the last minute and not the homeowner. This is,
- 17:45if you put that in very simplistic terms, this is the lunacy of the argument, particularly when
- 17:51you look at some of the archaeology of Israel, that they're discovering on a daily basis.
- 17:56The historical connection is there. It's not up for debate. And yet again, because we've got
- 18:03so much deception, which is satanically driven in this age, the enemy has blinded the minds
- 18:09of people. And unfortunately, people just get swept up in it. And again, as I finished in one of
- 18:16the articles, I said, unfortunately, until the world recognises the true source of anti-Semitism,
- 18:23which is satan, then they're going to be blind to the true answer to anti-Semitism, which is
- 18:29Jesus Christ. And I made the point in one of the articles that any Christian who truly loves
- 18:36and obeys Jesus, it's unthinkable for them to kindle hate against Jews. So I know that we've got
- 18:45some Christians supposedly, and there's a couple of well-known names on the supposed Christian
- 18:49right in America. But to kindle hatred against Jewish people and say that you're a Christian,
- 18:55it doesn't make sense. So I think we need to understand and align these people with King Herod
- 19:04in the Bible. And we forget this. We skim over this every Christmas where
- 19:10King Herod went out and killed every Jewish baby two years old and under. This wicked king did
- 19:21why? Because he didn't kill every Gentile or Palestinian baby note because Jesus was known as
- 19:30the King of the Jews. And that was a threat to King Herod. We forget about this. So if you are on
- 19:37the side, now I know we have maybe even some that are listening or watching that might disagree
- 19:43with you or me. And that's okay friends. We can agree to disagree. But biblically speaking,
- 19:48we have to understand Jesus, Jesus is our Messiah. That was his background. Then biblically
- 19:55speaking, let's understand the land and what God promised and the covenants in the Old Testament.
- 20:00Now Dean, what you said was very interesting. You said, and I'll say this aside from what the
- 20:06Bible teaches, archaeology and world history, there is a record of what is found there who lived
- 20:15where Israel had this land and they lived there. Which it's really is amazing to me that people
- 20:23can fall for some of these lies. Go ahead, share your thoughts. Absolutely. And I mean the archaeological
- 20:30evidence isn't just centered in Israel either. I mean you've got evidence in Egypt where you've
- 20:36got ancient steels where Israel is mentioned. You've got the tombs of Esther in Mordekai in Iran
- 20:44which still exists to this day. So you've got evidence throughout the Middle East. But again,
- 20:50it comes back down to the fact that it doesn't work for the propaganda. And we know that there have
- 20:57been Muslim groups who have destroyed evidence from the temple mount, connecting the Jewish presence
- 21:02back to the temple mount and to Israel as well. So you're not only going through a process of
- 21:07identity theft, you're going through a process of property destruction as well. And so this whole
- 21:13movement is built on deceit. And again, I think there needs to be a reckoning. And it started
- 21:21in some ways with the political class. They've finally been woken up to the fact that something
- 21:25needs to be done about antisemitism in this nation. But it also needs to filter down culturally as
- 21:31well and socially. And this is where we need more voices to be bringing the facts, the indisputable
- 21:37facts, particularly pointing back to some of the archaeological evidence because you can't dispute
- 21:42that. But again, it becomes convenient to either overlook it or destroy it all for the sake of
- 21:49continuing this line of thought. Again, it all comes back to Satan. This is his agenda.
- 21:55And let's not forget that in the future, once the prophetic program unfolds and then we get to
- 22:02the millennial kingdom, the millennial kingdom is Israel centered. Jesus comes back to rule and
- 22:07reign from Jerusalem. So Israel is still highly important in God's program. And unfortunately,
- 22:15there are many churches in Australia who've been infected with replacement theology,
- 22:20an millennial doctrine. And so if you wipe out the kingdom program and any future for God's people,
- 22:25will you going to distort the meaning of the scriptures and obviously a future plan for Israel?
- 22:31So Dean, before we run out of time, you mentioned in your article something I don't understand
- 22:36here as far as how we work our government in the states here. But you mentioned something about
- 22:41a Royal Commission and some sort of investigation or how would that work and what can you tell us
- 22:47about what that is all about? Yeah, sure. By the time I wrote the article, there was still some
- 22:54debate around whether the Royal Commission would be implemented. And so it has now been. And so what
- 23:02the Royal Commission will do is that it will look to identify what went wrong, what happened in
- 23:09the lead up to this event. Now Royal Commission's, they don't happen often. They are an extensive
- 23:15investigation and they're an expensive investigation as well. So this is why they don't, they aren't often
- 23:22called in Australia. But essentially the purpose is going to be threefold for the Royal Commission.
- 23:27It's going to look to find out why specific events happened and obviously we're talking about
- 23:32the Bondi terrorist attack. It aims to identify who was accountable, which is going to be extremely
- 23:38important in this scenario. And then it will make certain recommendations about changes to policy
- 23:45procedures, laws, etc. So the Royal Commission, Anthony Albanese, he did bow to pressure because he
- 23:52was very resistant for a while. But there was really a grassroots movement amongst Christians,
- 23:58amongst other leaders, Jewish leaders, business leaders, to really push for this because again,
- 24:04this was the worst terrorist attack on Australian soil. It was against the Jewish community. We've
- 24:09been, you know, allowing in this country since October 7, these constant protests again, which not
- 24:16only have chance of globalised the interferer, we had the Opera House scenario where people were
- 24:23saying gas the Jews. And you know, some of these protests, you saw Islamic state flags. Now that's
- 24:30a real problem. And as I said, anyone could see where this was leading. But again, you've got this
- 24:38fine balance around the right to protest. But you know, when the right to protest is really calling
- 24:43for genocide, then that's a problem. And so we'll see what comes out of the Royal Commission. But at
- 24:50this stage, it's been called, its findings are going to take a year or two because it'll go through
- 24:55an extensive process. So we will see. But in the meantime, Anthony Albanese is looking to introduce
- 25:01some hate speech laws, which again is problematic. And I think he probably feels that this is the
- 25:10right thing to do because it's specifically to deal with anti-Semitism. But there's some provisions
- 25:16in the bill which have us concerned as believers. And so it remains to be seen where this will all
- 25:27go. But unfortunately, I think it might restrict some freedom of speech in certain areas.
- 25:33So Pastor Dean Dwyer, we've got just two minutes left. And we've got viewers mainly from North
- 25:39America. But we do have some in Australia and a couple other countries. But what would you
- 25:44encourage the body of Christ to do? Or what can we keep an eye on? Or how can we respond with
- 25:53all that's happening? And obviously watching for Jesus and being discerning. But just share your
- 26:00thoughts on just some encouragement. Absolutely. I mean, I referenced Esther before. And Esther is
- 26:07one of those books that we've seen to skip over as Christians. But there's great lessons in Esther.
- 26:13And one of them, as we will know David, is the phrase, you were born for such a time as this.
- 26:19And for all of us to recognize that it's no accident that we're in this age. God has equipped us
- 26:24with a mind that works. He's given us the scriptures, which he's preserved down through the centuries.
- 26:29And he's put us in trusted remnant churches where we can serve and worship him. And he's connected
- 26:36us with great ministries like yours and like Harbinger's daily and so many others around the world.
- 26:41So, utilize them. Lean on each other. Utilise those ministries. Utilise their content. Continue
- 26:47to stay in the word and to stay engaged with trusted ministries because the deception is only going
- 26:55to grow worse. And it's incumbent upon us to be able to know the information, know the facts so
- 27:00that we're able to not only encourage the body of Christ, but also to lovingly correct those who
- 27:05might be wrong in certain areas as well. Because as I said, not only does this have temporal value,
- 27:12but it has eternal value as well. So, you're born for such a time as this. Hang in there. I know it's
- 27:18tough and it's getting tougher, but hang in there. God is sovereign and he'll work it out.
- 27:24Amen, friends. We strengthen your faith. Make sure you're in the word. We are doing our best to
