- 1:44SPEAKER_11: Like you're brand new, not old.
- 1:45SPEAKER_11: Not old.

- 1:48SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:50SPEAKER_11: And I I know that this is a bass player over here.
- 1:53SPEAKER_11: I it's been a long time since I've seen an acoustical bass.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, thank you.
- 1:57SPEAKER_11: Yeah, very pretty.
- 1:58SPEAKER_11: No, it's borrowed for this.
- 2:00SPEAKER_11: Borrowed just for this, yeah.
- 2:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 2:02SPEAKER_11: And what's your name?
- 2:03SPEAKER_11: My name's Jason Roberts.
- 2:04SPEAKER_11: Jason Roberts.
- 2:06SPEAKER_11: And then we have uh a guitar player.
- 2:08SPEAKER_11: Are you the lead guitar player or the rhythm?
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: Uh do you have that guy?
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: I'm just the guitar player.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: Just a guitar player.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: I'm the one guy who doesn't sing at all, so I just have a guitar.
- 2:19SPEAKER_11: Alright, so they stick you in the corner with the guitar, right?
- 2:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's my job in the band, too.
- 2:25SPEAKER_11: We used to lock the, we get people in the door to charge a mission to get in, right?
- 2:29SPEAKER_11: And then we'd lock the doors, I'd start singing and charge a mission, admission to get out.
- 2:33SPEAKER_11: On the way out.
- 2:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 2:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that was how we made our money.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: And my name is uh Rick Gilbraith.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: Rick Rick Gilbraith?
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: Gilbraath.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: Not Gilbert, Gilbra.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: Gilbraith.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: Well, it's like a change on Galbraith.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: It's an Americanized version from the 1700s, I guess.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: Well, we're gonna have some history with it.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: I was like, that's a weird change to Galbraith, but they said it's from the 1700s, so I'll believe them.
- 2:57SPEAKER_11: No wonder they don't let you sing.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 3:00SPEAKER_11: Never give them a money.
- 3:03SPEAKER_11: And this uh fine young gentleman next to me that has I have a shirt just like that.
- 3:08SPEAKER_11: I don't remember where I got it, actually, but I yeah, I'm just identical to that.
- 3:12SPEAKER_06: My name's Paul New, and I'm a rhythm guitar player and lead singer.
- 3:18SPEAKER_11: So are you guys related?
- 3:21SPEAKER_11: Yes, sir.
- 3:21SPEAKER_11: He's my son.
- 3:22SPEAKER_11: Yeah?
- 3:23SPEAKER_11: So are you uh brothers or he's my son.
- 3:26SPEAKER_11: Son?
- 3:26SPEAKER_11: Oh you don't look that old.
- 3:28SPEAKER_11: Family business.
- 3:29SPEAKER_11: Family business.
- 3:31SPEAKER_11: He doesn't look that old, does he, Rick?
- 3:33SPEAKER_11: This is the father over here.
- 3:37SPEAKER_03: I I'm just afraid of offending anybody with whatever answer I give.
- 3:42SPEAKER_11: You didn't offend anybody.
- 3:44SPEAKER_11: No.
- 3:45SPEAKER_11: You okay?
- 3:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was just looking at the levels.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: I wasn't paying too close attention.
- 3:49SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 3:50SPEAKER_11: All right, so Desert Thunder, and I I want to know, real quick, we'll get this out of the way.
- 3:54SPEAKER_11: We're gonna answer an email.
- 3:55SPEAKER_11: I have you guys help us with that.
- 3:56SPEAKER_11: We're gonna do Debonisa, that's coming up as well.
- 3:59SPEAKER_11: Um, but I want to know, uh Laura.
- 4:02SPEAKER_11: Laura D.
- 4:03SPEAKER_11: Was she with you guys or played with you guys or sang with you guys?
- 4:07SPEAKER_06: Well, back in 1995, she was one of the founding members of the group.
- 4:12SPEAKER_06: Oh my god, you gotta be kidding me.
- 4:14SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:15SPEAKER_06: And she stayed with us a year or so and then got married and then moved on.
- 4:20SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 4:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I I Laura and I go way back.
- 4:24SPEAKER_11: We were uh at K T R A together.
- 4:27SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay.
- 4:28SPEAKER_11: I did uh she did middays and I did night overnights, or not overnights, but six to midnight.
- 4:33SPEAKER_11: So and in between was Don Kirk, Captain Kirk.
- 4:37SPEAKER_11: Um so yeah, Laura and I go way back.
- 4:39SPEAKER_11: We dated on and off for a while too.
- 4:41SPEAKER_11: Yeah, she's just she's a sweetheart.
- 4:42SPEAKER_11: I love Laura.
- 4:43SPEAKER_11: And a voice.
- 4:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:48SPEAKER_04: She's come and sat in with us a few times whenever she's been out and it's on ray or something, and and just uh sing a couple songs, and and it's amazing what she can do with her voice.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I don't know.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: It's been a few years.
- 5:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's been a long time.
- 5:03SPEAKER_11: Well, she's gone off into the nursing profession, which is a notable profession as well.
- 5:06SPEAKER_11: Alright, well, listen, I'm uh uh we're gonna get you guys to play one and then we'll probably uh we'll probably do debonese and then we'll uh talk a little bit more, but let's play one first, we'll find out where you're from, what you do, and well we know what you do.
- 5:18SPEAKER_11: I want to find out, I want to find out what you do to put money or food on the table because I know this doesn't do that.
- 5:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:29SPEAKER_11: So um whatever you want's fine with me.
- 5:31SPEAKER_11: Just jump off in there.
- 5:32SPEAKER_06: Start with uh a song by Gary Stewart called uh Empty Glass.
- 5:38SPEAKER_06: Ready?
- 5:40SPEAKER_06: One, two, three, four, get cigarette, but somehow make it home trying myself to sleep to stay every night every night I've been so funny for getting to the city glass cigarette moles, but somehow we'll make it home for myself to see that's a way to date, every nice way to day, every night for me.
- 7:57SPEAKER_11: I was already on, wasn't it?
- 7:58SPEAKER_11: I was already on.
- 8:00SPEAKER_11: Hey, um so let's talk about a little bit about the more about the band.
- 8:05SPEAKER_11: Uh how has COVID affected you guys as far as being able to play in different venues?
- 8:09SPEAKER_04: I don't care who answered this.
- 8:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: Well we took the whole year off.
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: Basically March 2020 was so when did we start again, really?
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: Um our first gig back was in July, yeah.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: Um 2021.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: 2021, yeah.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: And then most of the places that would have us over for a full weekend just had us out for one night.
- 8:31unknown: Yeah.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: So we set up, we play, we tear down.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: Got a couple of t-shirts.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: So back in the day it was nice to set up and play.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: Then you come back the next day not have to worry about setting up.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: You know, it's just it's just a lot more wear and tear for that.
- 8:51SPEAKER_11: Oh, absolutely.
- 8:52SPEAKER_11: And and the sad part about it is most venues don't understand it's a good, especially with a a full four-piece band, right?
- 8:59SPEAKER_11: And all the equipment and the speakers and the drums and everything.
- 9:03SPEAKER_11: Most venues don't understand the time that it takes because you know you got a you got a couple hours set up, and then you got a couple hours teardown.
- 9:10SPEAKER_11: The gig may only be three hours, and that's all they pay you for, is that three hours?
- 9:14SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 9:14SPEAKER_11: I know.
- 9:14SPEAKER_11: I've been there, done that.
- 9:15SPEAKER_11: I ran sound, been there, done that five or six times.
- 9:18SPEAKER_11: You know, so yeah, I get props to your roadie over here.
- 9:22SPEAKER_11: She's the only roadie.
- 9:23SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 9:25SPEAKER_11: So your better half, and I'm gonna my better half.
- 9:28SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I'm gonna emphasize the better part, especially if she's roadie for you.
- 9:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she she does everything for me, so uh yeah, I don't know.
- 9:36SPEAKER_04: I get lost when she's not there because the guys kind of laugh at me because I'm trying to put my drums away and they're like, Well, how long is it gonna take for him to put a walk?
- 9:46SPEAKER_04: He doesn't have he doesn't have uh his better half there, so it's one hour with her, two hours without.
- 9:53SPEAKER_10: Wow, that's pretty bad.
- 9:56SPEAKER_11: I don't you you were pretty fast with me, so I don't know.
- 10:00SPEAKER_11: You can back to me pretty quick.
- 10:02SPEAKER_11: All right, well listen, let's do another one and then we're gonna do Debonese.
- 10:05SPEAKER_04: How's that?
- 10:06SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 10:08SPEAKER_04: Here's a little Jamie Johnson song here.
- 10:11SPEAKER_04: Little is it Jamie Johnson song?
- 10:12SPEAKER_04: Jamie, Jamie, yeah, he's a pretty big guy.
- 10:17SPEAKER_04: Go ahead, Dad.
- 10:30SPEAKER_04: I said, Grandpa, what's this picture here?
- 10:34SPEAKER_04: It's all black and white.

- 10:56SPEAKER_09: If it looks like we were scared to death, like a couple of kids just trying to save each other.
- 11:04SPEAKER_09: You should have seen it in colour.
- 11:09SPEAKER_04: This one here's taking overseas in the middle of the hill of 1943, in the winter time, he'd almost see my breath.
- 11:21SPEAKER_04: Can't but tell that was John McGee was a high school teacher from New Orleans, and he had my back right through the day we left.
- 11:34SPEAKER_09: If it looks like we were scared to death, like a couple of kids just trying to save each other.

- 12:37SPEAKER_09: That's the story of my life.
- 12:43SPEAKER_09: Right there in Black and White If it looks like we were scared to death back and kill kids just trying to save each other.

- 14:27SPEAKER_05: A word of the week.
- 14:28SPEAKER_05: Something like that.
- 14:31SPEAKER_11: Well, I I personally think I look charming today.
- 14:34SPEAKER_11: I don't think I'm uh uh a charmer, but I do my word for the day is a charm.
- 14:40SPEAKER_11: A charm.
- 14:41SPEAKER_11: If you have it, you don't need to have anything else.
- 14:44SPEAKER_11: If you don't have it, it doesn't matter what else you do.
- 14:53SPEAKER_05: See?
- 14:54SPEAKER_05: I told you to use that word in a sentence this week.
- 14:57SPEAKER_05: I dare you.
- 14:58SPEAKER_05: This has been David Mees.
- 15:01SPEAKER_11: Okay, we're talking to the Desert Thunder band.
- 15:04SPEAKER_11: Paul.

- 15:28SPEAKER_11: The most seasoned.
- 15:31SPEAKER_11: Seasoned.
- 15:31SPEAKER_11: Seasoned.
- 15:34SPEAKER_11: And you have a little bit salt and pepper look, so you're good.
- 15:37SPEAKER_11: So yeah.
- 15:39SPEAKER_06: So uh where are you from originally?
- 15:42SPEAKER_06: Born in Farmington.
- 15:43SPEAKER_06: Where are you really?
- 15:44SPEAKER_06: Lived other places, but I was born here.

- 15:56SPEAKER_06: I was like 80.
- 16:02SPEAKER_11: No.
- 16:03SPEAKER_11: Um, so uh and I understand that Laura started the band, but how did she recruit all did did she know, did you know her?
- 16:10SPEAKER_06: Did uh she didn't start the band, she was just one of the members that worked together, which is kind of a mutual deal.
- 16:17SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 16:19SPEAKER_06: Roy was one of the uh founding members also.
- 16:22SPEAKER_06: Roy.
- 16:23SPEAKER_06: Roy value also.

- 17:27SPEAKER_06: And then uh we lived in Arkansas for a while.
- 17:31SPEAKER_06: A couple of different times.
- 17:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 17:34SPEAKER_11: Um, all right, so and then you're gonna have to remind me your name, young man.
- 17:38SPEAKER_11: Rick.
- 17:38SPEAKER_11: I don't know why I didn't remember that.
- 17:40SPEAKER_11: Where are you from, Rick?
- 17:41SPEAKER_11: Farmington.
- 17:42SPEAKER_11: All you guys do I mentioned, just just let's get it down there.

- 17:51SPEAKER_11: You guys know where Scranton is?
- 17:51SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah.
- 17:53SPEAKER_11: Pennsylvania.
- 17:57SPEAKER_03: It's common for the city.
- 17:58SPEAKER_03: It's Scranton, the electric city.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: It's called that because of the electricity.
- 18:03SPEAKER_03: So it's an office quote for you.
- 18:06SPEAKER_11: So that is that what makes you so electrical?
- 18:08SPEAKER_11: Shocking behavior.
- 18:11SPEAKER_11: All right, so and um Jason.
- 18:14SPEAKER_11: Jason, and and and you're from here too?
- 18:16SPEAKER_11: I was born and raised, and I really haven't ever escaped, been here ever since.

- 18:29SPEAKER_01: Well, I picked up an ex-wife there.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: He tries to forget about it.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: I've heard about those Bloomfield women.
- 18:36SPEAKER_11: Listen, when I was in high school, we used to ditch school and go over and hang out in Aztec.
- 18:41SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 18:42SPEAKER_11: We catch them coming out of the school for lunch in Aztec.
- 18:45SPEAKER_11: I for some reason I and I did end up with a tiger paw later in life.
- 18:49SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 18:50SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:51SPEAKER_11: She probably doesn't want me to tell that story.
- 18:56SPEAKER_11: More than likely.
- 18:56SPEAKER_11: But we do have a child together, so she's yeah, yeah.
- 19:01SPEAKER_11: He's an ex-tierette.
- 19:02SPEAKER_04: So did you go to school in Farmington too?

- 19:10SPEAKER_11: Uh 2003.
- 19:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that hadn't been that long ago.
- 19:13SPEAKER_11: Yeah, you're a little old.
- 19:14SPEAKER_11: Surprisingly I'm the youngest one in the band.
- 19:16SPEAKER_04: Are you?
- 19:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:18SPEAKER_11: How old are you?
- 19:19SPEAKER_11: Can we ask?
- 19:19SPEAKER_11: Uh 36.
- 19:21SPEAKER_11: 36?
- 19:21SPEAKER_11: You say that with like you don't know.
- 19:23SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I know.
- 19:23SPEAKER_11: I always have to.
- 19:24SPEAKER_04: I'm getting close to 37.
- 19:25SPEAKER_04: Did you have to look at your spouse?
- 19:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:29SPEAKER_04: Confirmation.
- 19:31SPEAKER_11: I don't want to remember it right now.
- 19:33SPEAKER_11: Well, when you get to be my age, man, every year, and and you probably can attest to this too, Paul.
- 19:38SPEAKER_11: Every year is like, I I know exactly what year it is.
- 19:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:41SPEAKER_11: 66 for me.
- 19:42SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:43SPEAKER_11: Long time.
- 19:44SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 19:45SPEAKER_11: Well, listen, um, how are we doing on time?
- 19:47SPEAKER_11: Oh, we're swimming in time.
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we got about eight minutes.
- 19:50SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 19:50SPEAKER_11: All right, so let's do another song, I think.
- 19:52SPEAKER_11: I think that'll be the best.
- 19:53SPEAKER_11: And then when we get done with this song, I want to talk about how they can book the band.
- 19:57SPEAKER_11: Because that's that the whole idea behind this is to get you as much exposure as possible.
- 20:01SPEAKER_11: And then next segment, I might have a proposition for you.
- 20:04SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 20:05SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 20:05SPEAKER_11: Uh yeah, just get ready.
- 20:08SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 20:13SPEAKER_11: He's assembling a team.
- 20:15SPEAKER_11: A team of the very best.
- 20:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we are.
- 20:17SPEAKER_11: That's exactly what we're doing.
- 20:19SPEAKER_11: Nice way to put that a positive spin on that.
- 20:23SPEAKER_03: This sounds so ominous.
- 20:25SPEAKER_06: Let's do an audible.
- 20:26SPEAKER_06: Let's just do test for auto.
- 20:28SPEAKER_06: Alright.
- 20:28SPEAKER_06: Oh, that's one of my favorites.
- 20:30SPEAKER_06: Good choice.
- 20:30SPEAKER_06: Oh, this one we kind of rearranged a little bit.
- 20:33SPEAKER_06: I love that.
- 20:33SPEAKER_06: Hope it's not sacrilegious, but try to make it into a little better dance song.
- 20:39SPEAKER_06: Ready?
- 20:41SPEAKER_06: One, two, three, two, two, three.
- 21:03SPEAKER_06: Why don't you come to your sins?
- 21:07SPEAKER_06: And have prices so long.
- 21:13SPEAKER_06: Oh, you're a more war.
- 21:21SPEAKER_06: Sings and pleasing.
- 21:29SPEAKER_06: Don't draw the queen down.
- 21:32SPEAKER_06: Or she'll be chilled if she's able.
- 21:36SPEAKER_06: The queen of points is always the best day.
- 21:43SPEAKER_06: Seems to me some bad things have been laid upon your table.
- 21:49SPEAKER_06: But you only want more kidney.
- 22:06SPEAKER_06: The craft given the freedom.
- 22:11SPEAKER_06: Oh freedom.
- 22:13SPEAKER_06: Just a little tone.
- 22:24SPEAKER_06: Don't you think it cold in winter time?
- 22:28SPEAKER_06: Skywall snow, the sun won't shine.
- 22:31SPEAKER_06: It's home.
- 22:40SPEAKER_06: Your highs and low Ain't it funny how the people took away Yes Brown?
- 22:54SPEAKER_06: Why don't you come split your senses?
- 22:58SPEAKER_06: Down from your fences, open the gate.
- 23:07SPEAKER_06: I know the rainbow above you.
- 23:11SPEAKER_06: Better let somebody love you.
- 23:15SPEAKER_06: Let somebody love you.
- 23:18SPEAKER_06: Better let somebody love you before it's too late.
- 23:40SPEAKER_11: You know, so let's do that.
- 23:44SPEAKER_11: I want to, how can they book the band?
- 23:46SPEAKER_11: I mean, are you guys busy for uh because this will air sometime in November.
- 23:50SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 23:50SPEAKER_11: Um for December.
- 23:51SPEAKER_11: Let's talk about New Year's Eve parties.
- 23:54SPEAKER_11: You guys don't do those, do you?
- 23:55SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 23:57SPEAKER_11: But there's no alcohol involved, right?
- 23:59SPEAKER_11: Yes, of course.
- 24:04SPEAKER_04: Where are you playing?
- 24:05SPEAKER_04: Uh well, uh, so next weekend, which is November 13th, we're playing at the Wild Horse Saloon.
- 24:10SPEAKER_04: Um, our you know.
- 24:13SPEAKER_04: Oh yes.
- 24:14SPEAKER_11: I absolutely love that venue.
- 24:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, it's uh it's one of the our favorite places to play.
- 24:19SPEAKER_04: Um they always treat us real well there.
- 24:21SPEAKER_04: We auditioned to be in there in 2012 with a different different uh lineup of guys, and we've been playing there ever since, and it's been it's been awesome.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: So um then our new year's gig is gonna be at the Elks Lodge, but uh here in Farmington.
- 24:37SPEAKER_04: Um and we are playing at the Wild Horse again in December and at the Elks Lodge earlier in December.
- 24:43SPEAKER_04: So December 11th at the Elks Lodge, December 18th at the Wild Horse.
- 24:48SPEAKER_04: So yeah, we we uh try to get as much in as we can um without overbooking and then getting burnt out.
- 24:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, we all have to work regular jobs, so gotta pay the bills.
- 25:01SPEAKER_04: You gotta pay the bills.
- 25:02SPEAKER_04: You gotta buy more equipment.
- 25:06SPEAKER_11: Is that kind of like uh like a like a like a hobby is buying more equipment to play?
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: More of a syndrome.
- 25:14SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 25:14SPEAKER_10: Syndrome.
- 25:15SPEAKER_04: But it's a tax write off.
- 25:16SPEAKER_04: It's a tax write-off, yeah.
- 25:18SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's yeah, solid point.
- 25:19SPEAKER_04: That's the thing I tell my wife.
- 25:25SPEAKER_11: What did you say?
- 25:26SPEAKER_03: I was just wondering if you guys have ever planned for a Christmas party.
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, we we have.
- 25:31SPEAKER_04: Uh we uh uh played for uh what it's been two different companies now, Western.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, actually I was working for them, so I got to play at and get paid at my Christians.
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: Oh nice.
- 25:41SPEAKER_11: Let me just give Paul a bit of advice.
- 25:44SPEAKER_11: Don't wear red.
- 25:48SPEAKER_11: Listen, I dressed up with a chef a couple of weeks ago for Halloween.
- 25:51SPEAKER_11: It was a chef.
- 25:52SPEAKER_03: It was a red chef's app.
- 25:53SPEAKER_11: It was a red chef jacket, long sleeve, a white chef hat, the big one.
- 25:59SPEAKER_03: We kept calling him Santa because of the beard and the hair.
- 26:03SPEAKER_04: Oh wow.
- 26:04SPEAKER_03: I'm so sorry, Dave.
- 26:07SPEAKER_04: That's alright.
- 26:08SPEAKER_03: But um, if somebody wanted to book you, who would how would they get in contact with you?
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so um, we have a website, uh thedesertthunderband.com, um, where you can subscribe to a newsletter to see when we're playing.
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: Um they can also contact us on that on that site as well.
- 26:23SPEAKER_04: Um we have an Instagram at the Desert Thunderband, um, a Facebook at the Desert Thunderband as well, and then a YouTube page where they can watch some of the videos that we've had uh at various locations, mostly at the Wild Horse.
- 26:36SPEAKER_04: We did a professional video with a uh a local guy out of Aztec who did all the videography for us.
- 26:41SPEAKER_04: I know that guy, I can't remember his name, but yeah, he does a great job.
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he does it, he did a great job.
- 26:45SPEAKER_04: He was very professional.
- 26:46SPEAKER_04: He can't he showed up at our gig at Sunray, and he's like, hey, I'd love to videotape you guys.
- 26:51SPEAKER_04: And I was like, okay, let's try to make something make that happen, you know.
- 26:54SPEAKER_04: And we've been approached several times by different other people, and then they just it just falls through the cracks and they never get back in contact with us.
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: And then this guy he stayed with us and he his last name was Nash, wasn't it?
- 27:04SPEAKER_04: Nash, Steven Nash, yeah.
- 27:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's done stuff for us.
- 27:07SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 27:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, he's awesome.
- 27:09SPEAKER_04: Uh he's really really professional.
- 27:11SPEAKER_04: Um but yeah, uh, that's what we that's how you can get in touch with us.
- 27:15SPEAKER_04: Uh I have my thanks, Red.
- 27:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:18SPEAKER_03: You're welcome.
- 27:22SPEAKER_04: Sing less.
- 27:23SPEAKER_04: Sing less.
- 27:24SPEAKER_04: Not not less, but just down more because he usually our our our levels on our are uh he projects?
- 27:29SPEAKER_04: He projects pretty well.
- 27:31SPEAKER_04: But he's got singing harmony on that last one because it just I couldn't hear anybody else.
- 27:37SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but I was just gonna say hello, we're back.
- 27:47SPEAKER_11: Hello?
- 27:48SPEAKER_11: Hello, we're back.
- 27:49SPEAKER_11: All right, I gotta dig I gotta go over this real quick because we have something going on.
- 27:52SPEAKER_11: Uh I want to know how creative are you?
- 27:54SPEAKER_11: What are your outlets for creativity?
- 27:56SPEAKER_11: Do you think your creativity had uh was inherited or learned?
- 28:01SPEAKER_11: Uh who are you most, who is the most creative person that you know?
- 28:05SPEAKER_11: I'm calling all you creative people to help us design our new logo for 2022.
- 28:10SPEAKER_11: Real simple.
- 28:12SPEAKER_11: Uh we're gonna design it, we'll put it on a t-shirt, uh, and if you send that design to the generalswakeup call at gmail.com, that's the generals, it's all one word, D-A-G-E-N-E-R-A-L-S wake-up call at gmail.com.
- 28:27SPEAKER_11: If Brandon or our team picks your design, I'm gonna give you a hundred bucks and and I'm gonna give you a dollar royalty on every t-shirt sold uh going forward.
- 28:38SPEAKER_11: Those of you that are familiar with Shark Tank, that's a good deal.
- 28:41SPEAKER_11: Mr.
- 28:41SPEAKER_11: Wonderful would even take that deal.
- 28:43SPEAKER_03: It's all about the royalties.
- 28:44SPEAKER_11: It's all about the royalties.
- 28:45SPEAKER_03: That's where the real money is made.
- 28:47SPEAKER_11: So go to our webpage, innerwestconcepts.com.
- 28:50SPEAKER_11: That's all one word as well, innerwestconcepts.com.
- 28:53SPEAKER_11: Click on the wake-up call, and that'll give you some ideas on what we have and what we're looking for.
- 28:59SPEAKER_11: Our last one that we're using now is a nice, beautiful watercolor that Michael Bullock did for us that I just absolutely adore.
- 29:06SPEAKER_11: So we're gonna have to find keep it in there somehow or another.
- 29:08SPEAKER_11: But I think we need to get us a new logo.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: I I still have that watercolor.
- 29:14SPEAKER_03: I know, you're supposed to bring it up.
- 29:15SPEAKER_03: I want to post it up down here.
- 29:16SPEAKER_03: I've been supposed to bring it like many weeks now.
- 29:19SPEAKER_11: I know, but I know where you live, so if I need it, I'll then get it.
- 29:22SPEAKER_11: It's safe.
- 29:23SPEAKER_03: I know in between all of the precarious situations I keep it in.
- 29:27SPEAKER_03: Like I keep it right over a boiling pot of water, or you know, in another situation.
- 29:32SPEAKER_11: That would be good for a watercolor.
- 29:33SPEAKER_03: Way too close to a candle.
- 29:35SPEAKER_03: It's fine, I swear.
- 29:37SPEAKER_11: I believe you.
- 29:38SPEAKER_11: Otherwise, I'd have been knocking on your door to get it back.
- 29:40SPEAKER_11: Of course.
- 29:41SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 29:43SPEAKER_11: Alright, so let's uh let I think let's do another song and then we'll come back and talk a little bit more.
- 29:47SPEAKER_11: I don't know how we're doing on time, but I don't really care.
- 29:49SPEAKER_11: We went way over the last time.
- 29:52SPEAKER_11: You got it?
- 29:53SPEAKER_03: No, no, sorry, I was just snapping in general because I'm feeling snappy, I guess.
- 29:58SPEAKER_11: You got any Tom to go with that?
- 30:00SPEAKER_03: Tom and Snappy?
- 30:02SPEAKER_11: Snappy Tom.
- 30:03SPEAKER_03: What's Snappy Tom?
- 30:04SPEAKER_11: Oh, you've never had a snappy tom?
- 30:06SPEAKER_03: No, what?
- 30:07SPEAKER_11: Obviously, she doesn't drink a lot.
- 30:10SPEAKER_11: It's a hot tomato juice.
- 30:12SPEAKER_11: Snappy Tom.
- 30:13SPEAKER_11: Well, it's a I guess it's more like a V8 vegetable juice, but is there any alcohol in it?
- 30:18SPEAKER_11: No, no, but you mix alcohol with it.
- 30:20SPEAKER_03: Okay, I was gonna say I'm pretty sure that hot tomato juice is just tomato soup.
- 30:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was like, don't try to mix me.
- 30:29SPEAKER_11: Spicy.
- 30:29SPEAKER_11: Spicy.
- 30:30SPEAKER_03: Spicy.
- 30:31SPEAKER_03: Okay, that sounds yummy though.
- 30:32SPEAKER_11: Snappy Tom, look for it.
- 30:34SPEAKER_03: In stores now.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: Who is singing?
- 30:36SPEAKER_11: Jason.
- 30:37SPEAKER_06: Jason, okay, man.
- 30:38SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 30:38SPEAKER_03: Feel free to move that if you need to.
- 30:40SPEAKER_06: We just started doing, so there may be a few hiccups.
- 30:44SPEAKER_06: We'll try not to.
- 30:45SPEAKER_11: You haven't listened to my show, have you?
- 30:47SPEAKER_11: That's all my show is, is hiccups.
- 30:49SPEAKER_03: We thrive on the hiccups.
- 30:51SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 30:55SPEAKER_04: Take the gum out.
- 30:58SPEAKER_06: How do we start here?
- 31:01SPEAKER_11: What are you starting up over there?
- 31:02SPEAKER_06: Just the word.
- 31:09SPEAKER_11: Well, that would be nice.
- 31:10SPEAKER_11: I'd appreciate it too.
- 31:11SPEAKER_11: I think our listeners would probably appreciate it as well.
- 31:13SPEAKER_11: Probably.
- 31:15SPEAKER_11: Ready?
- 31:15SPEAKER_06: Yep.
- 31:16SPEAKER_11: Do you need to come down to Hannah One and Hannah Two?
- 31:18SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 31:20SPEAKER_09: One, two, three, four.
- 31:31SPEAKER_08: Going up in the middle of the night.
- 31:35SPEAKER_08: Like fire, fire without a light.
- 31:39SPEAKER_08: You were there, like burning.
- 31:43SPEAKER_08: I was a key that could use a little turn.
- 31:47SPEAKER_08: So tired that I couldn't even sleep.
- 31:51SPEAKER_08: So many secrets I couldn't keep.
- 32:08SPEAKER_08: There's no way out.
- 32:10SPEAKER_08: This time I ever really let myself a strain.
- 32:19SPEAKER_08: Run away, train never.
- 32:27SPEAKER_08: Seems like a stream can't seem somewhere.
- 32:31SPEAKER_08: Somehow I'm either here.
- 32:59SPEAKER_08: Make it all so worthwhile.
- 33:02SPEAKER_08: However, did I get so chicken?
- 33:06SPEAKER_08: Life's mystery seems so fake.
- 33:10SPEAKER_08: I can go and no one else can go.
- 33:14SPEAKER_08: I know no one else knows.
- 33:18SPEAKER_08: Here I am, still traveling in the rain.
- 33:22SPEAKER_08: With a ticket for the runway train.
- 33:26SPEAKER_08: Everything seems good and cry and night.
- 33:33SPEAKER_08: Somehow I just don't believe it.
- 33:42SPEAKER_08: Runaway train never going there.
- 33:46SPEAKER_08: One way on a one way tread.
- 33:50SPEAKER_08: Seems like I should be getting somewhere.
- 33:54SPEAKER_08: Somehow I'll never get over there.
- 34:33SPEAKER_07: Like a madman laughing at the rain.
- 34:37SPEAKER_07: Little out of touch, little in the same.
- 34:41SPEAKER_08: Just easier than dealing with the day.
- 34:45SPEAKER_08: Run away, train on that.
- 34:49SPEAKER_08: Run away on a one-way trail.
- 34:53SPEAKER_08: Seems like I should be getting somewhere.
- 34:57SPEAKER_08: Somehow neither here.
- 35:01SPEAKER_08: Run away to never come back.
- 35:09SPEAKER_08: Run away to burning in my face.
- 35:13SPEAKER_08: Run away, but it always stays the same.
- 35:36SPEAKER_05: You've got questions?
- 35:38SPEAKER_05: You got an email.
- 35:40SPEAKER_05: We got answers.
- 35:41SPEAKER_05: An email?
- 35:42SPEAKER_05: You may not like the answers, but we got 'em.
- 35:45SPEAKER_05: We just got an email.
- 35:49SPEAKER_05: I wonder who it's from.
- 35:51SPEAKER_05: Ask Ren and David.
- 35:52SPEAKER_08: Who are you?
- 35:53SPEAKER_08: Who are so wise in the ways of society?
- 35:57SPEAKER_03: All right, Dave.
- 35:58SPEAKER_11: Do we have an email?
- 35:59SPEAKER_11: I do have an email.
- 36:00SPEAKER_11: We'll get these guys to help us answer.
- 36:02SPEAKER_11: This comes from uh Bernadette, and Bernadette says, help! Give me that help.
- 36:10SPEAKER_03: Help!
- 36:12SPEAKER_11: Is that help or help?
- 36:14SPEAKER_03: I need somebody help.
- 36:16SPEAKER_11: Oh, yes.
- 36:17SPEAKER_11: I only like watching horror movies with someone.
- 36:20SPEAKER_11: Has to have somebody with them to watch horror.
- 36:23SPEAKER_11: Well, okay.
- 36:24SPEAKER_11: It's the one I put accidentally put the X through there.
- 36:26SPEAKER_03: I'm the horror queen, so we'll be able to do that.
- 36:28SPEAKER_11: I know, that's why I'm giving it to you.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: I do love spooky movies during the Halloween season.
- 36:32SPEAKER_03: However, under one condition, someone is watching it with me.
- 36:36SPEAKER_03: If I watch horror alone, I can't sleep and I become wired.
- 36:40SPEAKER_03: But I really do enjoy it if I have someone to watch it with.
- 36:43SPEAKER_03: Anyone else this way?
- 36:45SPEAKER_03: From just call me chicken burnadette.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: I think that's fair.
- 36:50SPEAKER_03: My whole my thinking is probably uh the horror movie gets your adrenaline going, and if you're all alone, you you feel like you have to look behind your back.
- 37:00SPEAKER_03: But if you have somebody with you, then you remember that it's all just fake and silly.
- 37:04SPEAKER_11: You know, I guess I understand that better because I thought what difference does it make?
- 37:07SPEAKER_11: It doesn't matter to me.
- 37:08SPEAKER_11: I don't watch a lot of horror movies, so I don't know about you guys, right?
- 37:11SPEAKER_11: Only in the daylight.
- 37:15SPEAKER_11: Chicken, right?
- 37:18SPEAKER_03: I watched so many horror movies that Dave was like, no, Ren, we've talked about too many.
- 37:23SPEAKER_03: You're gonna have to talk about something else.
- 37:28SPEAKER_11: But in some of them, I've seen like poltergeists and the Halloween ones, though, I don't I I I don't know.
- 37:33SPEAKER_11: But I don't I don't typically watch them.
- 37:37SPEAKER_11: I don't know whether because I'm chicken, might be.
- 37:40SPEAKER_11: You know, the bigger they are, the easier they fall of your heart.
- 37:44SPEAKER_11: But um I I don't understand, I guess, what makes a difference if you're with somebody or not with somebody.
- 37:49SPEAKER_11: It would still, it would haunt me whether I watch it with somebody or without somebody.
- 37:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 37:53SPEAKER_11: But it doesn't bother you?
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: No, um, I like it with somebody or without somebody.
- 37:58SPEAKER_03: But just talking about Bernadette's situation, to me, it makes sense.
- 38:01SPEAKER_03: It seems like a psychological thing.
- 38:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think so too.
- 38:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 38:04SPEAKER_04: What do you guys think?
- 38:05SPEAKER_04: Yes, no?
- 38:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I can I I I I interrupt the movie because I'm telling why are you doing that?
- 38:11SPEAKER_04: Why are you going to the shed with all the things?
- 38:15SPEAKER_04: It's like the converter.
- 38:18SPEAKER_11: No, let's not go in there.
- 38:19SPEAKER_11: There's cars there that are running where they go.
- 38:25SPEAKER_11: Come running, Ren.
- 38:26SPEAKER_11: Take us out of here.
- 38:33SPEAKER_05: You have been listening to ask Ren and David articulated, well-thought-out answers to your well-articulated thought-out questions.
- 38:42SPEAKER_06: Wake it up, wake it up, wake it up.
- 38:44SPEAKER_05: If you would like your questions answered, email the generalswakeupcall at gmail.com.
- 38:54SPEAKER_11: We've already had this.
- 38:57SPEAKER_11: You make me so jealous when my whistle I used to be I used to whistle for a band, uh, music, right?
- 39:03SPEAKER_11: Songs.
- 39:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 39:05SPEAKER_11: Stop.
- 39:06SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 39:07SPEAKER_11: I've stolen it.
- 39:08SPEAKER_03: I've stolen all of his power.
- 39:09SPEAKER_11: Um something about getting older, my puckerer doesn't.
- 39:12SPEAKER_11: And and Rand thinks that's why I can't get a girlfriend.
- 39:15SPEAKER_11: Because my puckerer.
- 39:18SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 39:21SPEAKER_02: I can see how that would happen.
- 39:25SPEAKER_03: You kept threatening to kiss everybody, and everyone was like, no.
- 39:28SPEAKER_03: And you're like, what's wrong with my kisses?
- 39:31SPEAKER_03: And then I realized, oh, it's because you can't poker anymore.
- 39:33SPEAKER_03: There's something wrong with the way you kiss.
- 39:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah, well, you know, I've had Julian's boys in here, and we had um uh twisted rebel in here, and I threatened to kiss Sarah.
- 39:42SPEAKER_11: And I was like, you know, I would if your husband wasn't sitting right there next to you.
- 39:46SPEAKER_11: Uh and then, but I thought I kiss all of them.
- 39:48SPEAKER_11: I mean, it didn't matter to me.
- 39:49SPEAKER_11: I don't care.
- 39:50SPEAKER_11: You know, after a couple of times, you know, I'll kiss Wrangler butts drive me nuts, too.
- 39:56SPEAKER_03: I mean, the problem isn't that you threaten to kiss people, it's just all I'm saying is maybe you gotta work on your technique.
- 40:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah, she's right.
- 40:05SPEAKER_11: Do I I need to find somebody to help me with that?
- 40:08SPEAKER_11: I'll call that woman in Durango that I've been saying and say, look.
- 40:10SPEAKER_03: We'll get you hooked up with Tinder.
- 40:12SPEAKER_03: We'll be good.
- 40:13SPEAKER_03: I'll be right back.
- 40:14SPEAKER_03: Tinder, swipe and light right and left, you'll figure it out.
- 40:20SPEAKER_11: Okay, then.
- 40:21SPEAKER_11: All right, well, listen, I um we'd like to give you guys an opportunity.
- 40:24SPEAKER_11: We got I I think we're gonna be able to crank out at least another song, but we also like to give each one of you an opportunity to say whatever, you know, hello to mom.
- 40:32SPEAKER_11: I mean, Ren kind of explains it pretty good.
- 40:35SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, if you just want to say hi to somebody, or if you want to, you know, describe your plans for taking over the world or anything in between.
- 40:43SPEAKER_11: If we could get your lovely wife to just come by and say hello in the microphone, that would be alright too.
- 40:48SPEAKER_11: She's she's a behind-the-scenes kind of girl.
- 40:51SPEAKER_11: Yeah, she's yeah.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: You know what roadies do when they're not on stage.
- 40:55SPEAKER_11: Uh well, when I was just a roadie, I was in the van smoking pot.
- 41:00SPEAKER_10: That's not right.
- 41:05SPEAKER_04: She actually has a pretty decent voice.
- 41:06SPEAKER_04: She uh sang with us a couple times with my dad in some duets, uh, Hear the Reason God made Oklahoma and stuff.
- 41:14SPEAKER_04: And uh Someday Soon, you know.
- 41:18SPEAKER_04: And then she actually won uh it's an ASPAR championship week right now.
- 41:21SPEAKER_04: So um she won uh race tickets to go to Florida by singing uh what song was it?
- 41:28SPEAKER_04: By uh Mariah Carey.
- 41:29SPEAKER_04: Mariah Carey.
- 41:34SPEAKER_11: So I know what the deal is.
- 41:36SPEAKER_11: Let me tell you what the deal is, because I have had a lot of people on, and I even you guys were saying it when you first sat down.
- 41:42SPEAKER_11: For some reason about radio, you can get up on stage and the first couple of songs everything, but something bees it about radio, and you put a microphone in somebody, they're like.
- 41:51SPEAKER_04: So I understand.
- 41:53SPEAKER_04: I I like doing it with a group, you know.
- 41:56SPEAKER_04: Um, the uh the I don't think I could do it uh uh by myself up on stage, but uh I if my dad tells me, oh, we should do duets sometime, and I'm like, I don't know.
- 42:06SPEAKER_04: I like having the drum set in front of me, and then I can kind of hide in there.
- 42:10SPEAKER_04: It's like your security blanket.
- 42:12SPEAKER_11: I get it.
- 42:13SPEAKER_11: I get it.
- 42:14SPEAKER_11: Alright, let's do another song and we'll come back and we'll talk about uh whatever you guys uh each one of them.
- 42:19SPEAKER_11: Yeah, whatever you guys want to.
- 42:21SPEAKER_11: What kind of message you'd like to put out there?
- 42:23SPEAKER_11: Alrighty.
- 42:24SPEAKER_03: Into the stratosphere.
- 42:25SPEAKER_11: Did I catch you off guard?
- 42:26SPEAKER_11: Are you ready to play?
- 42:27SPEAKER_11: Are you with me?
- 42:28SPEAKER_11: We're ready.
- 42:30SPEAKER_06: Um let's do don't close your eyes.
- 43:18SPEAKER_06: Don't close your eyes, don't close your eyes, make it be scared with some fancy are they just one letter you find more love you never know So hold me time You love me now and don't for your Just hold me time You love me now and don't for your man nice very nice I I I love that song too.
- 44:15SPEAKER_11: I that is a great intimate song to dance with somebody.
- 44:22SPEAKER_06: It's definitely one of the favorites.
- 44:23SPEAKER_06: That's what we generally do.
- 44:24SPEAKER_06: We're a dance band.
- 44:25SPEAKER_06: Oh, absolutely.
- 44:26SPEAKER_06: A little showy where we just try to get people out on the dance floor and give them some time to snuggle.
- 44:35SPEAKER_03: Get on out there with a sweetie.
- 44:37SPEAKER_11: I I I that was one of the reasons.
- 44:40SPEAKER_11: And I, that's what we did was dance all the time.
- 44:42SPEAKER_11: Oh, yes.
- 44:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 44:43SPEAKER_11: Of course, she was 10 times better than me at it, but I still promenaded her butt all around that for sure.
- 44:50SPEAKER_11: Um right now I couldn't promenade to the door, but hopefully that'll change coming soon.
- 44:56SPEAKER_11: All right, so let's take a couple of minutes.
- 44:57SPEAKER_11: I'm I I think we got a few here.
- 44:59SPEAKER_11: Um any anybody that just wants to jump in, anything that you want to say, any message you want to get out, say hi, mom.
- 45:06SPEAKER_11: I you know, I don't care.
- 45:07SPEAKER_11: We are in what did I tell you, 83 countries.
- 45:10SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 45:11SPEAKER_11: No.
- 45:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah, 83 countries.
- 45:14SPEAKER_11: That's awesome.
- 45:15SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 45:15SPEAKER_11: Thanks, Ren.
- 45:16SPEAKER_03: You're welcome.
- 45:18SPEAKER_03: I've got the I've got the facts written down, right?
- 45:22SPEAKER_11: Um 83 countries in 800 and something cities are worldwide.
- 45:28SPEAKER_11: Majority of that, let's say probably 75% of that is in the Four Corners area.
- 45:33SPEAKER_11: But we're very proud of what we've done.
- 45:35SPEAKER_11: It's taken us three years to get to that point.
- 45:37SPEAKER_11: Um so anything that, you know, you want to give a message to somebody overseas, we're very likable in England.
- 45:43SPEAKER_11: I think that we have the most downloads out of England than we have in any other country.
- 45:47SPEAKER_06: So I was just saying, yeah, since it is almost Veterans Day, we'd like to thank our armed forces for the sacrifices that they make and what they do to help keep us free.
- 46:00SPEAKER_11: I think a lot of us take that for granted a lot of times too.
- 46:03SPEAKER_04: And and and and you you you really find an appreciation getting back to it and back to playing music.
- 46:09SPEAKER_04: Our first time coming back, we had a full dance floor, and well not the very first time, the first time they had restrictions on dancing, but the second time we came back, we had a full dance floor and people clapped all the songs.
- 46:22SPEAKER_04: I felt like you felt like you couldn't do nothing wrong, you know, and uh and uh oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, we yeah, it was rough because we wanted to make sure to keep everyone safe during during COVID and stuff, and we didn't want to do any intimate practices like we do.
- 46:37SPEAKER_04: I mean, I wish we were could have had the capabilities of doing, you know, other ways of practicing, which I've seen other bands do that as well.
- 46:43SPEAKER_04: But uh yeah, it's uh you appreciate what you can do and all the freedoms that you have whenever you get back to it after it getting taken away for a full year and not being able to play your instrument the way you want to play it in front of people and uh see the joy on their faces when they're dancing.
- 46:59SPEAKER_04: And I mean there's so many connections that we have with those people that uh we appreciate every single one of them.
- 47:06SPEAKER_04: We have our ones that we have named, you know, that that come to see us everywhere.
- 47:11SPEAKER_04: Peggy, uh, you know, you got all these Ricky, Rick, and uh yeah, we just have so many people that just come up and smile at us as they as they dance around the floor and just come up and we appreciate that, so it means a lot to us.
- 47:26SPEAKER_04: Sometimes you find out that your fly is open, and that's what it as you get older, it gets worse.
- 47:34SPEAKER_11: I was at work the other day and somebody said a nice native guy, I stopped out, stepped outside, held the door for him, and he goes, Um, hey, um, your barn door's open.
- 47:47SPEAKER_11: I haven't heard that in years.
- 47:49SPEAKER_11: And I've been there half the day.
- 47:50SPEAKER_11: None of my other salespeople told me that.
- 47:52SPEAKER_11: The guys I work with, they were told me what let's see how long it takes for him to find out.
- 47:58SPEAKER_11: Maybe fucking new sales tech.
- 48:02SPEAKER_11: Listen, it doesn't work picking up women, it ain't gonna work selling cars.
- 48:08SPEAKER_11: All right, well, listen, um I I I had something I was gonna say and I forgot.
- 48:12SPEAKER_11: Am I not?
- 48:13SPEAKER_11: Am I not getting everything out?
- 48:15SPEAKER_03: You got everything out.
- 48:16SPEAKER_03: I'm sure you probably just wanted to respond to something.
- 48:18SPEAKER_03: Like I was gonna say, it's really good to know that the live music experience is just as meaningful for the musicians as it is for, you know, a music goer.
- 48:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 48:26SPEAKER_03: It's kind of a dying thing though.
- 48:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's really is yeah, you especially before.
- 48:31SPEAKER_04: I'm trying to resume before COVID, you know?
- 48:33SPEAKER_04: Like you would see it, and you're like people were taking it for granted.
- 48:37SPEAKER_04: Like they there's just so many different avenues for them to have fun online, you know, doing different things.
- 48:43SPEAKER_04: It's not every day they want to go out.
- 48:45SPEAKER_04: You have to really make them want to go out and do it, and we try our best to change up our show, try and change songs that we're doing.
- 48:51SPEAKER_04: I mean, we got a humongous repertoire of songs that we got, and uh it's just trying to hit on the right, you know, but you don't want to play the same thing every time because then everyone, you know, the people that do come out they want to hear something a little bit different, you know.
- 49:03SPEAKER_11: All right, so um speaking of that, I'm gonna ask this as a personal favor because I gotta go see you guys.
- 49:07SPEAKER_11: I have not.
- 49:07SPEAKER_11: I'm sorry that I've not been to a menu.
- 49:09SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna go see them.
- 49:10SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 49:10SPEAKER_11: But here's the deal, okay?
- 49:13SPEAKER_11: Do you guys do play uh do you do uh any Z Z top stuff?
- 49:19SPEAKER_11: Not acoustically done.
- 49:21SPEAKER_11: Not acoustically.
- 49:21SPEAKER_11: No, no, no.
- 49:23SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 49:24SPEAKER_11: I don't know if they do.
- 49:25SPEAKER_11: You know where this is going?
- 49:28SPEAKER_11: So I I want to I want to come up and sing Lagrange, okay?
- 49:33SPEAKER_10: Love that.
- 49:35SPEAKER_04: He would love that because he that's that's his signature song, right?
- 49:39SPEAKER_04: Well, I don't want to take that away from it.
- 49:41SPEAKER_04: No, no, no.
- 49:41SPEAKER_02: He's actually that was his intro.
- 49:43SPEAKER_02: Now he does several other.
- 49:45SPEAKER_03: I would personally love to hear a duet because that's kind of Dave's signature song.
- 49:51SPEAKER_11: Hold on.
- 49:52SPEAKER_11: Rin and I, and we have, I don't know, do you guys know Eric Campbell?
- 49:56SPEAKER_11: He's our music director.
- 49:57SPEAKER_11: Yeah, he is writing us a song.
- 49:59SPEAKER_11: So Rin and I are gonna have our own song that we're gonna sing together, right?
- 50:03SPEAKER_11: Six foot apart.
- 50:05SPEAKER_11: Six foot apart.
- 50:07SPEAKER_11: But that's the name of the song.
- 50:09SPEAKER_11: I don't know, it might be a good title.
- 50:13SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna run that by Eric.
- 50:15SPEAKER_03: You've broken my heart at six feet apart.
- 50:23SPEAKER_03: Get into the writing studio.
- 50:26SPEAKER_11: Oh my god.
- 50:27SPEAKER_11: I'm sending that to Eric.
- 50:30SPEAKER_03: I've already got the email up.
- 50:33SPEAKER_06: But anyway, please don't unless we're six feet apart.
- 50:40SPEAKER_11: I love it.
- 50:41SPEAKER_11: But anyway, um we want to make sure that we get you guys supported.
- 50:45SPEAKER_11: So let's give out your website again and tell we're gonna be playing again uh because we want to make sure that we get you all the support we can get you.
- 50:53SPEAKER_11: That's the whole idea.
- 50:54SPEAKER_11: You took time out of your Sunday to come here, it's the least we can do.
- 50:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we appreciate you guys having us on uh and and having that platform to be able to talk, especially as big as your guys is here locally.
- 51:03SPEAKER_04: So um our website is thedesertthunderband.com.
- 51:06SPEAKER_04: Um it's gotta have V in front of it.
- 51:08SPEAKER_04: I know yeah, yeah, there's uh there's another band in Arizona that's called The Desert Thunder.
- 51:13SPEAKER_04: And uh yeah, the uh you can subscribe to the newsletter, like I said before, and then our Instagram is at the Desert Thunderband, Facebook is also at the Desert Thunder Band, and then YouTube is the Desert Thunderband NM.
- 51:26SPEAKER_04: So there's another one that has the Desert Thunder Band, and so I have to put the NM there to New Mexico.
- 51:32SPEAKER_04: You represent New Mexico, so um yeah, that's that's how you can find us.
- 51:37SPEAKER_04: And uh we're playing at the Wild Horse next weekend, uh November 13th.

- 51:52SPEAKER_04: We're very, very happy to play that because uh um they've been really good to us.
- 51:57SPEAKER_04: Uh Elks Lodge has always been supportive.
- 51:59SPEAKER_11: I mean, I I I ran sound there in the 90s.
- 52:02SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay.
- 52:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 52:03SPEAKER_11: I I also got kicked out of there, but so my my name, my my my picture may be on the wall.
- 52:10SPEAKER_11: You have to listen to the other podcast that way.
- 52:15SPEAKER_11: Is it in the urinal?
