Speaker 1: York Yankees. That's right, Thousands lined the concourse of Yankee
• 0:17
Speaker 1: Stadium to run it end to end, including the warning track.

Speaker 1: Thanks to the Yankees, the New York Runners Club, Double
• 0:25
Speaker 1: Play Baseball Sequel, a tampon company, and Securitas, the official
• 0:31
Speaker 1: security provider of the New York Yankees and Yankee Stadium.
• 0:35
Speaker 1: And so thanks to my mom and my stepdad, my dad,
• 0:39
Speaker 1: Vic and my mom, I got to go and be
• 0:43
Speaker 1: part of the Pinstripes five K at Yankee Stadium. It
• 0:48
Speaker 1: was like a homecoming of sorts. It was like a
• 0:53
Speaker 1: feeling of running for my dad, running for mister Steinbrunner,
• 0:58
Speaker 1: with my mom and Vic also there in spirit, and
• 1:04
Speaker 1: it hit home how much of homecoming it was. When
• 1:08
Speaker 1: I'm in the top deck of Yankee Stadium doing my
• 1:10
Speaker 1: run and Hailey Swindle, the granddaughter of George Steinberner, says hey, Alex,
• 1:16
Speaker 1: and I'm like, wait, who's that And it's Haley. She
• 1:20
Speaker 1: stopped me midrun, got a quick picture and then we
• 1:23
Speaker 1: caught up after to talk about what it means to
• 1:25
Speaker 1: the community and the Yankee engagement in the community to
• 1:28
Speaker 1: put on this inaugural Yankee Pinstripe five K. Well, I'm
• 1:35
Speaker 1: here with a very special friend for twenty five plus years,
• 1:38
Speaker 1: Haley Swindle, the granddaughter of George Steinberner. First of all,
• 1:42
Speaker 1: your grandfather wanted the community to be involved with the Yanks.
• 1:44
Speaker 1: Doesn't it epitomize that, Haley.
• 1:47
Speaker 2: Yes, he would have loved this today. It was so
• 1:49
Speaker 2: cool to be with everybody as people were running onto
• 1:51
Speaker 2: the warning track for the first time, and to get
• 1:53
Speaker 2: to explore the stadium. Even me, who's been in here
• 1:56
Speaker 2: so many times my whole life, got to see parts
• 1:58
Speaker 2: of the stadium I hadn't seen before, and it was
• 2:00
Speaker 2: my first time ever running in here.
• 2:01
Speaker 1: I was gonna say, they've had runs here before, but
• 2:03
  Speaker 1: not like this.
• 2:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, pins tried five.
• 2:06
Speaker 1: There's gonna be one in May as well, but I'm.
• 2:07
Speaker 2: Not missaying that's what I'm hearing. The details I'm not
• 2:10
Speaker 2: sure of yet, but I hope we do many more.
• 2:12
Speaker 2: I know that we've been in the stadium forever.
• 2:14
Speaker 1: The terrain of this place.
• 2:15
Speaker 2: You don't realize that. Alex I don't know. It was
• 2:18
Speaker 2: fun though. It was really really fun, and I think,
• 2:21
Speaker 2: as I said, the warning track was my favorite. I
• 2:23
Speaker 2: thought that was really really magical, and then of course
• 2:25
Speaker 2: running up top on the terrace was really really name
• 2:27
Speaker 2: getting the overall and that's where we found each other.
• 2:29
Speaker 2: I saw he was like, Alex, I think I scared you.
• 2:32
Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I think we were missed by.
• 2:34
Speaker 1: Didn't ask about Aaron Judge when he is third m
• 2:36
Speaker 1: VP for the Yankees.
• 2:37
Speaker 2: What does he mean to this organization from your perspective, God,
• 2:39
Speaker 2: she's incredible. He's just incredible on the field and off
• 2:42
Speaker 2: he's he's an amazing person and he's an incredible player
• 2:45
  Speaker 2: and hush contestant.
• 2:48
Speaker 1: Now we all know, how does he ever think about Dad? Like?
• 2:51
Speaker 3: What is his take when he's running his team?
• 2:52
Speaker 1: Do you think of his dad? Oh?
• 2:54
  Speaker 2: Us, I think how's doing a great job. I've never
• 2:56
Speaker 2: talked to him about that stuff, but I am proud
• 2:58
Speaker 2: of him. And you have.
• 2:59
Speaker 1: The whole involved, which is so specially.
• 3:02
Speaker 2: We are we are. I'm primarily involved with my mother
• 3:05
Speaker 2: and my cousin Julia, with the with the foundation. That's
• 3:07
Speaker 2: so we're always trying to do.
• 3:10
Speaker 1: And that was a great gallop this year as well.
• 3:11
Speaker 2: The Foundations, thank you so much. Our homecoming dinner is
• 3:15
Speaker 2: a fun part of what we do. But the kid's
• 3:18
Speaker 2: all to help the.
• 3:18
Speaker 1: Kids in the Bronx community, which we And then I
• 3:20
Speaker 1: know you're involved with the community in general. So what's
• 3:22
Speaker 1: that like for you to sort of embody what your
• 3:24
Speaker 1: granddads you. It's my great honor that we have the
• 3:28
Speaker 1: best community in the world to be able.
• 3:30
Speaker 2: To get back to the community that that gives us
• 3:32
Speaker 2: so much. And now you're on Broadway with damn Yankees.
• 3:35
Speaker 2: How'd that go? No, we're coming to Broadway in the fall. Uh,
• 3:38
Speaker 2: And we just finished up in d C. It's about
• 3:40
Speaker 2: the Orioles and the Yikes, and some of the Orioles
• 3:43
Speaker 2: leadership came and of course the Yanks have been super
• 3:45
Speaker 2: supportive and that's really excited.
• 3:47
Speaker 1: And I know you just went off with your Broadway career,
• 3:49
Speaker 1: which is so cool to watch.
• 3:50
Speaker 2: By the way, Yeah, I always loved My grandpa loved
• 3:52
Speaker 2: Broadway as well, so I did not know that shared. Yeah,
• 3:55
Speaker 2: he produced the Broadway shows before he came.
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: I know.
• 3:59
Speaker 2: That's no, that was his big moment too. Yes, he
• 4:01
Speaker 2: was quite the performer as.
• 4:02
Speaker 1: Well sorry, Haley, Well good luck with everything and continue
• 4:04
Speaker 1: the great work as well.
• 4:05
Speaker 2: Thanks Alexis. Was fun today. I enjoyed ce and did
• 4:08
Speaker 2: run the race with him.
• 4:09
Speaker 1: It was very cool to run into her and it was,
• 4:12
Speaker 1: as I say, like a homecoming of sorts. I mean,
• 4:14
Speaker 1: I remember watching Yankee Baseball World Series Baseball in the
• 4:18
Speaker 1: suites with her and her brother Stephen, and uh, just
• 4:24
Speaker 1: awesome family. A great family that has run really a
• 4:28
Speaker 1: dynasty here in New York since nineteen seventy three, and
• 4:32
Speaker 1: they continue the legacy of George Steinberg. Now. One guy
• 4:36
Speaker 1: who totally dressed the nines wearing number ninety nine was
• 4:42
Speaker 1: Caleb ak NYC Money three oh one, and I got
• 4:47
Speaker 1: a tangent to catch up with him after our race
• 4:50
Speaker 1: at Yankee Stadium over the weekend last time I was
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: wearing je holding.
• 4:55
  Speaker 3: Five.
• 4:55
Speaker 1: Kort, you got to represent your and Judge running this.
• 4:58
Speaker 3: Did you feel his energy to be running the I did?
• 5:00
Speaker 3: I think I brought that energy, you know what I'm saying.
• 5:02
Speaker 3: I mean, uh, you know, it's quite an experience, you
• 5:05
Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, Like, you know, to be back
• 5:07
Speaker 3: in the stadium, but it's it's kind of empty, but
• 5:09
Speaker 3: you know, the people came out here to I've never
• 5:11
Speaker 3: seen it without the field, and that was also my
• 5:15
  Speaker 3: favorite part.
• 5:16
Speaker 2: I'm saying, what was the hardest part.
• 5:18
  Speaker 1: Of the season.
• 5:19
Speaker 3: Oh, definitely the stairs man. Nobody was watching, so I
• 5:22
Speaker 3: walked out. But I mean, yeah, it wasn't as easy
• 5:26
Speaker 3: as I thought it was gonna be. But you know,
• 5:28
Speaker 3: he being on the field because you've been doing a.
• 5:30
Speaker 2: Lot more on this stuff. I'm not exactly what they
• 5:32
  Speaker 2: keep doing this.
• 5:32
Speaker 3: The next one is in May, so uh, you know,
• 5:35
Speaker 3: it's definitely gonna be warmer. It's gonna be during the season.
• 5:39
Speaker 1: So I love the opening the stadium up in general,
• 5:41
Speaker 1: different things, a lot of practice stuff.
• 5:44
Speaker 3: I love, of course, any experience here, I'll beat here,
• 5:47
  Speaker 3: you know, all.
• 5:47
Speaker 1: Right, what does it take to bring us back and
• 5:49
Speaker 1: reading to the stadium?
• 5:50
  Speaker 3: I mean, look, it's uh, it's gonna.
• 5:52
Speaker 2: Take quite a lot.
• 5:54
Speaker 3: I think the pitching is already taken care of, in
• 5:56
Speaker 3: my opinion, but you know, we're gonna have to take
• 6:00
Speaker 3: care of some things. Hopefully Cody comes back almost we'll
• 6:03
Speaker 3: see what's you know, we'll see what we do in
• 6:04
Speaker 3: the midfield. We gotta tightly shake some things up, but
• 6:08
Speaker 3: I think we got a little bit of time to
• 6:09
Speaker 3: think about all of that. It still November, so trick
• 6:12
Speaker 3: with are you a runner?
• 6:13
  Speaker 2: By day?
• 6:13
Speaker 3: Dar a girlfriend, she's the runner, and she kind of
• 6:17
Speaker 3: encouraged me to do this because you know, I kind
• 6:19
Speaker 3: of see what she does on a weekly, monthly basis.
• 6:23
Speaker 3: So I wanted to drive.
• 6:24
Speaker 1: Somethin and the Giants five kale.
• 6:27
Speaker 3: I did the Giant five.
• 6:28
Speaker 2: Ok, this one was hardy, No, this one was.
• 6:30
Speaker 1: Tough, this one was all right, Kale awesome. Yeh know.
• 6:33
Speaker 1: He wore pin stripes all up and down. We're no
• 6:37
Speaker 1: nine Yankee pin stripes. But I accessed twenty twenty four,
• 6:41
Speaker 1: twenty five and then of course here at the Yankee
• 6:44
Speaker 1: pin Tripe five K literally being uh the pin stripes
• 6:50
Speaker 1: of the pin Tripe five K. That being said, other notables.
• 6:56
Speaker 1: I met a guy named Dave. He actually ran the
• 6:58
Speaker 1: marathon and the five K weeks apart. That was pretty cool.
• 7:02
Speaker 1: And of course my friend Elle running the course with
• 7:05
Speaker 1: her was awesome, and just pacing myself taking the sights
• 7:11
Speaker 1: and sounds of Yankee Stadium watching from the top deck
• 7:14
Speaker 1: as runners were literally doing their two laps. It was
• 7:17
Speaker 1: quite a sight to see and if you're interested. They
• 7:20
Speaker 1: do have one in May of twenty twenty six, so
• 7:23
Speaker 1: I'm gonna take a look at that. Steinbernerfield also has
• 7:26
Speaker 1: one in February. Maybe we'll get down there for that.
• 7:28
Speaker 1: But that being said, what a special, special day, and
• 7:34
Speaker 1: thinking to mom and my stepdad and making it impossible
• 7:37
Speaker 1: and to all the runners. And by the way, Caleb
• 7:39
Speaker 1: and Haley were seemingly shouting out my name from the
• 7:44
Speaker 1: Delta lounge outside there, and so I was saying to myself,
• 7:49
Speaker 1: as a kid growing up, wouldn't you want your name
• 7:51
Speaker 1: yellowed out at Yankee Stadium? And it made me feel
• 7:55
Speaker 1: very special heading in those home stretches of the warning
• 7:58
Speaker 1: track portion of that course. We'll see you back there
• 8:02
Speaker 1: again in May twenty twenty sixth I guarantee that as
• 8:05
Speaker 1: today's one Leg Up Award goes to all the runners
• 8:09
Speaker 1: of the Yankees Pinstripes five K
