Speaker 1: All right, mr Mars, driving destination sir.
• 0:08
Speaker 2: So I got to thinking Labor Day is coming up and we've started watching the Gulf, looking for the hurricanes, because of the weather, because of where we're located at.
• 0:14
Speaker 2: And I got to thinking well, you know, everybody can go off to San Antonio or Dallas or Waco, any place north.
• 0:19
Speaker 2: Just go find some place.
• 0:21
Speaker 2: And I've done that a couple of times with the wife and the kids and the dogs and the cats loaded up into a Motel 6 because that's the only place that would take the pets, and it was not a lot of fun.
• 0:30
Speaker 2: So I was thinking about what else you could do and then so I thought some of the other places you could go that you might make a little bit of a road trip in a hurricane out of it, somehow the hurricane blew in, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 0:48
Speaker 2: So go up into the Lukenbach and the Fredericksburg area.
• 0:49
Speaker 2: You know you can go find you some hill country bed and breakfasts or you can get some cabins.
• 0:52
Speaker 2: Lukenbach actually has cabins on a little creek across from the post office thing.
• 0:57
Speaker 2: You can go to the Lukenbach Dance Hall Been there, yeah, been there.
• 1:03
Speaker 2: And you can also go up to Fredericksburg Dance Hall.
• 1:05
Speaker 2: Been there, yeah, been there.
• 1:06
Speaker 2: And you can also go up to Fredericksburg.
• 1:07
Speaker 2: It's right next door, with the wineries, beer gardens, the National Museum of the Pacific War and lots of boutiques.
• 1:11
Speaker 2: Then, if you're looking for something a little bit more to the north, go to Wimberley, which is another artsy small town, and you can stay in the river cabins that they have there or the Wimberley Inn.
• 1:26
Speaker 2: They've got the Wimberley Glassworks Studio.
• 1:28
Speaker 2: You've got places to go swimming like the Blue Hole or Jacob's Well, and then you could also go through the Wimberley Valley Winery to get wound up at the end of the day.
• 1:36
Speaker 2: The other place a little bit more to the east is Jefferson.
• 1:39
Speaker 2: Now you can stay at the Jefferson Hotel here, and this is famous for being haunted.
• 1:43
Speaker 2: Jefferson's considered one of the most haunted towns in Texas.
• 1:47
Speaker 2: I did not know that Did not Got plenty of antique shopping.
• 1:49
Speaker 2: You've got a train, the Jefferson Railway.
• 1:51
Speaker 2: They'll take you out through the Piney Woods.
• 1:53
Speaker 2: Got a bayou riverboat tour, lightning off in the distance.
• 1:57
Speaker 2: They even have a Gone with the Wind museum there.
• 2:00
Speaker 2: That I did not know.
• 2:01
  Speaker 2: Wow.
• 2:01
Speaker 2: Then you can also go a little bit more centralized.
• 2:06
  Speaker 2: Go to Tyler.
• 2:07
Speaker 2: It's in East Texas but it's known as the Rose Capital, got a lot of stuff for evacuees.
• 2:14
Speaker 2: You can go to the Tyler Rose Garden.
• 2:16
Speaker 2: They got a zoo.
• 2:17
Speaker 2: They got lakes to go and play with and plenty of hotels medical facilities and restaurants.
• 2:24
  Speaker 2: I don't believe I've ever played with a lake.
• 2:26
Speaker 2: Have you well play in shall we do it that way.
• 2:27
Speaker 2: I've played a lot of other things.
• 2:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, a town I really like and my wife loves it is nacogdoches.
• 2:33
  Speaker 2: Now it's more.
• 2:34
Speaker 2: It's not really that far north, but it is farther north, got its historic and charming.
• 2:40
Speaker 2: It's actually the oldest town in texas and nacogdoches, nacogdoches I, nacogdoches I knew that Got brick paved downtown, got plenty of museums Stephen F Austin is there.
• 2:49
Speaker 2: They got trails to go hiking in if you want to get out and about.
• 2:52
Speaker 2: They don't have that many hotels there because it's not that big of a town.
• 2:56
Speaker 2: It is a college town, so you got to make your reservations here.
• 2:58
Speaker 2: But it's a real nice place to go visit If you want to do something more with the kids.
• 3:10
Speaker 2: Glen Rose is another small town.
• 3:11
Speaker 2: Now this is home of the Dinosaur Valley State Park.
• 3:12
Speaker 2: There's actually fossilized dinosaur tracks that you can go down through the riverbeds and check out.
• 3:15
Speaker 2: But here, if you're an evacuee, you don't have to necessarily stay in a hotel.
• 3:16
Speaker 2: You can camp, you can hike, you can go, do all kinds of things in that area.
• 3:21
Speaker 2: And the last one I wanted to bring up was Bandera.
• 3:24
Speaker 2: Now this is a little more west.
• 3:25
Speaker 2: If you're going out towards San Antonio, you want to go a little more west.
• 3:27
Speaker 2: Now this is the cowboy capital of the world.
• 3:30
Speaker 2: Now this is a place for rodeo fans, western culture lovers One of the things that I liked whenever we'd been there before along with their museums and the cowboy look to it and everything.
• 3:41
Speaker 2: It's very hilly there, so, like on these, the entrance to the stores and stuff and the bar right behind where these cowboys are riding down Main Street.
• 3:49
Speaker 2: You actually have to go downstairs down the side of the hill and the bar and everything's down below and it's kind of like going to a speakeasy.
• 3:56
Speaker 2: Yeah Right, so there's just be a few places that you could go if you're going to evacuate and maybe have Time now for Jeff's Car Culture what your car's color says about you, you betcha, and here we go.
• 4:20
Speaker 3: So this first one, even though it's just a hold shot there, mike copper, if you've got a copper vehicle, you're not afraid of getting your hands dirty.
• 4:28
Speaker 3: Hard work and character.
• 4:30
  Speaker 3: Leave that alone.
• 4:31
  Speaker 3: Here we go.
• 4:31
Speaker 3: Next one is red.
• 4:33
Speaker 3: Passionate adventure Drivers who are drawn to red cars have fiery passion and won't hesitate to fight for what they believe in.
• 4:40
Speaker 3: They get personally invested in things, but they crave most is adventure.
• 4:44
Speaker 3: Fast rides, pulse-pounding experiences and exciting encounters are what makes life worth living when you have a red car.
• 4:53
Speaker 3: Next one is black, don, mysterious and sophisticated.
• 4:57
  Speaker 3: That's me, baby.
• 4:58
Speaker 3: Black car drivers like to keep to themselves and don't reveal too much.
• 5:04
Speaker 3: They like to retain some mystique.
• 5:06
Speaker 3: These drivers are perfectionists and won't leave a job unfinished, unless it's a margarita glass, if they leave it at all.
• 5:13
Speaker 3: Their elegance is sophisticated and can capture a room.
• 5:18
Speaker 3: Next one we have a practical planner would be the white vehicle.
• 5:22
Speaker 3: Just like their favorite color, white car lovers keep things neat and tidy.
• 5:26
  Speaker 3: Maybe, kathy?
• 5:27
Speaker 3: Yep, maybe to extremes.
• 5:29
Speaker 3: You're happy when things are simple and your practicality means that when it comes to group outings, everyone looks to you for the best plan.
• 5:38
  Speaker 3: Absolutely Okay.
• 5:39
Speaker 3: Then we got a blue one.
• 5:40
Speaker 3: Blue is calm and collected.
• 5:42
Speaker 3: Mike, like the blue ocean, you're too serene and cool on the surface.
• 5:47
Speaker 3: You generally like to take life as it comes, but underneath that surface are unexpected currents.
• 5:52
Speaker 3: You generally like to take life as it comes, but underneath that surface are unexpected currents.
• 5:55
Speaker 3: You're probably a far deep thinker and you let it on to let on, and you can't resist the challenge of a good competition.
• 6:02
Speaker 3: And then we got green.
• 6:03
Speaker 3: Green is the environmental protector.
• 6:07
Speaker 3: That's a good shot of that little car.
• 6:08
  Speaker 3: I'd drive that.
• 6:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, you would, I would.
• 6:11
Speaker 3: What else would a green car driver be but more passionate about the environment?
• 6:16
Speaker 3: Yep, everybody knows that You're always doing your best to make sure that you're being sustainable, and you probably love the great outdoors too.
• 6:23
Speaker 3: And the next one we have, if you get one of these, you're a yellow beam of sunshine.
• 6:28
  Speaker 3: How about that?
• 6:32
Speaker 3: Yellow car drivers are as bright as their vehicles.
• 6:35
  Speaker 3: Happy, optimistic.
• 6:36
Speaker 3: When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.
• 6:39
Speaker 3: You're socially active and the life of every party, michael, just like you.
• 6:42
Speaker 3: Bobby Sparkman, there you go.
• 6:47
Speaker 3: That's to be expected, though, because you love to make people laugh and you share in their sunshine.
• 6:50
Speaker 3: And then we've got one purple for those that are purple people the artistic expression.
• 6:55
Speaker 3: Purple lovers have a real bearing on what they draw attention to, and having to seek it out, they're just so good at expressing themselves.
• 7:04
Speaker 3: They have impeccable taste, whether it's in friendship, music or art, so you'll never have a hard time finding subjects to discuss.
• 7:12
Speaker 1: I painted the front door of my old house with a purple door.
• 7:16
Speaker 3: Brown salt to the earth.
• 7:17
Speaker 3: I like this car.
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: Look at that.
• 7:20
Speaker 3: Brown's your favorite color.
• 7:21
Speaker 3: You're down to earth.
• 7:22
Speaker 3: You treat everyone the same way regardless of social and professional standings and it works for you.
• 7:27
  Speaker 3: I like it.
• 7:28
Speaker 3: People love your honesty, thank you.
• 7:30
Speaker 1: Would you buy and drive that?
• 7:33
Speaker 3: I'd drive the car.
• 7:34
Speaker 3: Kathy had a brown car, she did.
• 7:36
Speaker 3: You're a dependable person who enjoys the quiet evenings instead of loud parties.
• 7:42
Speaker 1: You're the last one to take off from the stop sign.
• 7:45
Speaker 3: I'd drive that car, I would, I would there you go yeah you would.
• 7:51
  Speaker 1: Perfect.
• 7:51
  Speaker 1: No, I'm sorry.
• 7:52
  Speaker 1: No.
• 7:53
Speaker 1: Brown and green no.
• 7:54
Speaker 2: You know Chevrolet made a lot of trucks and Tahos and Suburbans that color and it was like that brown.
• 7:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, like why my Cutlass was brown?
• 8:02
Speaker 3: It was chestnut brown, it was a Cadillac color.
• 8:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, GM was real big into that brown for a while Ugly brown, dirt brown.
• 8:11
Speaker 2: It was like a root beer.
• 8:12
  Speaker 2: What?
• 8:12
Speaker 2: Did you call it Dirt brown, oh dirt brown.
• 8:14
Speaker 1: I thought you said duck brown.
• 8:15
Speaker 2: No, no, no, that was the duck yellow.
• 8:17
Speaker 3: That was the yellow, depending on what end of the duck you're looking at.
• 8:19
  Speaker 3: It's jerky.
• 8:23
Speaker 3: There you go, your car color tells a lot about you.
• 8:25
  Speaker 1: Yeah it does.
• 8:26
Speaker 1: There you go, yeah, Time now for this hour's car review.

• 8:54
Speaker 1: Reviewed trim level is the five door premium plus.
• 8:58
Speaker 1: This is a compact little sedan, all new in 2023.
• 9:04
Speaker 1: Exterior exterior features include oversized front grill gives it a menacing face, in my opinion.
• 9:11
Speaker 1: Bulging fenders can barely hold the big 18 inch wheels.
• 9:17
Speaker 1: Air vents at the rear of each front fender.
• 9:21
  Speaker 1: Severely raked windshield.
• 9:25
Speaker 1: This is not some sort of a do-over of your standard corolla.
• 9:29
  Speaker 1: No, it's not.
• 9:30
Speaker 1: It's its own car.
• 9:31
Speaker 1: They just use the Corolla name.
• 9:33
Speaker 1: It has a black roof panel on the top of it.
• 9:38
Speaker 1: The car just looks fast.
• 9:42
Speaker 1: Several 30-year-old dads that I ran into in different parking lots around town stopped me.
• 9:47
Speaker 1: Oh man, I love that car.
• 9:51
  Speaker 1: I'm going.
• 9:51
  Speaker 1: You do.
• 9:52
Speaker 1: I had no clue.
• 9:54
  Speaker 1: It's got a cult following.
• 9:55
Speaker 1: It does, and I'll give you the actual competitors to it here in just a second.
• 9:59

• 10:39
Speaker 1: You can toss it around like your old little eighth grade girlfriend.
• 10:42
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 10:44
Speaker 1: No leg room in the back seat.
• 10:46

• 11:28
Speaker 1: I don't know More power, I'm sure the aftermarket's got it.
• 11:31
Speaker 1: Toyota needs to rethink calling it a corolla, though I kind of compare it to the ford mustang.
• 11:42
Speaker 1: Mach-e has no relationship to the mustang whatsoever.
• 11:45
Speaker 1: That's the same thing for this.
• 11:47
Speaker 1: This is a corolla.
• 11:48
Speaker 1: No, it's not, it's its own thing.
• 11:50
Speaker 1: They're just using the corolla name.
• 11:52
Speaker 1: I don't like the way they do that anyway.
• 11:54
Speaker 1: Uh, what I liked about the ride and handling all-wheel drive, stiffened structure with a different floor pan underneath it.
• 12:01
Speaker 1: Extra welds are included.
• 12:03
Speaker 1: Plus, this one had a $720 option called the chassis brace in the cargo area.
• 12:10

Speaker 1: Last week I had a guy stop me.
• 13:03
Speaker 1: He had his wife and his two kids with him small children, man, I sure do like that car, so you want to look into it?
