- 0:00Speaker 1: Andrews.
- 0:00Speaker 2: Thank you back now with the Crank ANDEAE coach Lane
- 0:02Speaker 2: Lambert in Winnipeg and Lane first off with seven games
- 0:04Speaker 2: left in the regular season. Sometimes it's said that confidence
- 0:07Speaker 2: feeds execution and vice versus. So as a coach, how
- 0:10Speaker 2: does perspective of this time of year help this team
- 0:13Speaker 2: navigate high stakes?
- 0:14Speaker 1: For Well, there's no question that confidence, you know, leads
- 0:17Speaker 1: to execution and vice versa. And right now, you know,
- 0:22Speaker 1: we're we're having a little bit of trouble, you know,
- 0:26Speaker 1: certainly with our confidence level and you know, which is
- 0:32Speaker 1: leading to at times some for execution at the end
- 0:35Speaker 1: of the day, you know, and I've talked about it
- 0:38Speaker 1: all throughout this stretch. You know, we have to reset, reset,
- 0:42Speaker 1: and look forward, don't look past in the past, you know.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And that's the focus for tonight against the Winnipig Jets.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Members have been very good for Coppocaco since the Olympic
- 0:50Speaker 2: break in over the last nine road games, he's got
- 0:53Speaker 2: nine points in that stretch. We've talked a lot about
- 0:55Speaker 2: Bobby McMahon as far as his contributions, but what has
- 0:58Speaker 2: coppocco up applied to his game most on a consistent
- 1:02Speaker 2: basis recently.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Well, I think it's just a matter of him being
- 1:05Speaker 1: in and around the net. He's doing a good job
- 1:07Speaker 1: from that standpoint. He's protecting pucks down low, you know,
- 1:11Speaker 1: and so we're seeing the fruits of that. You know,
- 1:15Speaker 1: from that standpoint, that's his strength is down below the
- 1:18Speaker 1: tops of the circles. So you know, he's had some
- 1:20Speaker 1: success that way.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Talking to the concept here of face offs and how
- 1:24Speaker 2: the play begins in the face off circle, we've seen
- 1:26Speaker 2: a guy like, for instance, Matty Benier's and he had
- 1:28Speaker 2: a ten of eighteen night in just the last couple
- 1:30Speaker 2: of nights ago, and the numbers have gone up for
- 1:32Speaker 2: him every year in this category. So as far as
- 1:35Speaker 2: you as a coach through a one year lens with him,
- 1:38Speaker 2: you know what's gone into the part of his craft
- 1:40Speaker 2: that's helped make him better at that area.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Chris Taylor. You know, that's one of the reasons we
- 1:45Speaker 1: hired Chris Taylor is because we don't feel like our
- 1:47Speaker 1: team is good enough in the face off circle, or
- 1:49Speaker 1: was good enough in the face off circle. I think
- 1:52Speaker 1: we've had some improvements in the face off circle throughout
- 1:54Speaker 1: the year, you know, And I mean obviously Chandler Stevenson takes.
- 1:59Speaker 1: You know, I don't have the exact stat but I'll
- 2:01Speaker 1: guarantee you he's in the top one, two or three
- 2:03Speaker 1: in face offs in the defensive zone and starts. So
- 2:07Speaker 1: you know, we need to have more guys that can
- 2:11Speaker 1: be trusted in the defensive zone in the face off circle,
- 2:14Speaker 1: so that you know, Chandler isn't starting all the time
- 2:16Speaker 1: in the defensive zone. That way would lead to a
- 2:19Speaker 1: little bit more offensive production from him. But certainly, Chris
- 2:23Speaker 1: Taylor has worked with all our guys and I think
- 2:25Speaker 1: our face offs are.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Approving emotionally and technically. What's meant to get Ryan Winterton
- 2:29Speaker 2: back in this mix now?
- 2:31Speaker 1: It means a lot, you know, clearly, you know, he
- 2:34Speaker 1: hadn't skated for a while. He didn't seem to lose
- 2:37Speaker 1: his conditioning too badly. We'll see tonight when he gets
- 2:40Speaker 1: caught out there on an extended shift, but you know,
- 2:44Speaker 1: it's it's important to have him come back in at
- 2:46Speaker 1: this point in time, certainly give our team a little
- 2:48Speaker 1: bit of a boost. Our team needs a boost, you know,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and I'm looking for our leadership tonight to you know,
- 2:54Speaker 1: to bring that and we're gonna find out a lot
- 2:56Speaker 1: about our hockey team. Over the next seven games.
- 2:58Speaker 2: It seems as if of Winnipeg we talked a lot
- 3:00Speaker 2: about Kyle O Connor Mark Stifley as well. Whenever they're
- 3:02Speaker 2: on the ice, they can be dangerous. What's the biggest
- 3:04Speaker 2: key to handling them this.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Evening, Well, you can't give them too much time in space.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And you know the Connor, he just he's a goalscorer.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Shifley is too, and they look for each other. They
- 3:14Speaker 1: play an amazing two man game. They're They're a lot
- 3:17Speaker 1: like dry sidelymnic David, you know, and there's certain guys
- 3:21Speaker 1: point future off kind of thing. You get these two
- 3:23Speaker 1: man games that get played, you know, against a bunch
- 3:25Speaker 1: of teams in the league. They're two world class players,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you know. So we've got to make sure that we're understanding,
- 3:32Speaker 1: that we know where they are, and we've got to
- 3:34Speaker 1: take away their time in space, play them hard.
