- 1:46You go. And now, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:48we call this. Jabba rules, rules, rules.
- 1:57I had to take a shit. As we all know Jabba, you ready
- 2:00to go? Let's do it all.
- 2:02Right, here we go. Jabba, all you.
- 2:06Yeah, we. In this segment of Jabba Rules
- 2:08where it's going to start out a little bit kind of mundane.
- 2:13I don't know if you guys as another social media person B
- 2:17from Barstool, Cody Frank passed away and they were doing the
- 2:22Internet invitation on what what is so cool about sports and and
- 2:27kind of what we get to do. We get to touch lives in in a
- 2:30lot of different ways that maybe we wouldn't and get to know
- 2:33people on a on a certain kind of media, social media level.
- 2:38And with his passing, they have the Internet Invitational and he
- 2:41was actually ended up winning the tournament.
- 2:43But from what it came, they named the tournament after him
- 2:47and they started a scholarship fund at Ferris State University
- 2:52to support students that want to go into the PGA management
- 2:55program that he did. So, you know, we, we lost him at
- 2:5831 years old, But you know, what comes out of it, what rules is,
- 3:02is the fact that his legacy is going to live on and, and the
- 3:05type of person that he was and the, and the love that he had
- 3:07for golf. And, you know, kids are going to
- 3:08get an opportunity and a scholarship named after maybe
- 3:11after him and his college. So just thought that was really
- 3:14cool for somebody deserving and, you know, didn't have enough
- 3:17time on this earth, but really, really cool to see how that
- 3:20does. So that definitely rules.
- 3:22There you go, ladies and gentlemen, the one and only
- 3:25Jabba rules. Ah, all right.
- 3:29Well, we're we got to get to some UFC conversation.
- 3:33Jerk, why'd you take your pants? Off.
- 3:42This is. Cajun MMA.
- 3:46Made my nipples hard. Oh, there he is.
- 3:48There's Jake. I always forget the drop.
- 3:51You know what it is? I'm so used to not having a
- 3:53drop, and now we have a drop. So anyways, UFC 322 recap in UFC
- 3:58322 main event Islam, Yes, Mahachev defeated Jack Della
- 4:06Hold on Magdalena to win the welterweight championship.
- 4:10Islam moves to 28 and one in his career and ties Anderson
- 4:14Silver's UFC record with his 16th consecutive win.
- 4:19Islam also became just the 11th UFC fighter to win a
- 4:24championship belt in two different weight classes, doing
- 4:27it in both the lightweight and welterweight divisions.
- 4:31The win moved Islam to 17 and one in the UFC, 28 and one
- 4:36overall. He also said after the match he
- 4:40would like to fight Uzman next. Why?
- 4:44I don't know why, but that's a whole nother story.
- 4:46Uzman's not the same fighter he once was, but hey, Uzman's been,
- 4:50you know, kicking some butt over the last couple of fights.
- 4:53After Jake Paul's fight with Tank Davis was cancelled due to
- 4:58Davis's arrest on domestic violence charges, Paul's camp
- 5:04pivoted and boy did he pivot and he will now face and fight
- 5:10Anthony Joshua in Miami December 19th.
- 5:14Joshua 6 foot 6 and fought at the 252 LB weight.
- 5:21Paul is 6 foot one and at his heaviest he fought at 227 versus
- 5:26Mike Tyson last year. Joshua will by far be the most
- 5:31dangerous opponent Paul has ever faced and it will not be an
- 5:37exhibition fight but a traditional heavyweight fight.
- 5:41The fight will have 8 rounds, yes, three minute rounds and
- 5:47both fighters, I'm sorry, fighters will wear 10 oz gloves.
- 5:53Not as standard for heavyweight fights.
- 5:55We'll get into the Jake Paul fight first.
- 5:57I want to get into the Co main event and the main event.
- 6:01We could talk about the other fight too, but.
- 6:05Can we talk about the fight in the crowd first?
- 6:07Well, I will say this. I know three guys from Long
- 6:12Island that were a part of that fight, so a boy, oh boy, that
- 6:16was just embarrassing. Were they on Team McGregor or
- 6:19Team Khabib? Like what team were they on?
- 6:21I, I don't know, I think it was just an all out brawl.
- 6:25And, and, and to me, I don't, I don't think it had anything to
- 6:27do with Khabib or McGregor after it.
- 6:30I think it just started like that and then it ended like, oh,
- 6:33I hate you. I'm going to kick the hell out
- 6:35of you. And, and, and by the way,
- 6:37security was horrible over there and that I will say about
- 6:40Madison Square Garden. Say whatever you want with the
- 6:43certain times and I've seen with the rain Rangers and and things
- 6:46happen after the Ranger playoff games, security has a problem
- 6:50protecting the fans and they've had this problem for a very,
- 6:54very long time. And I would say James Dolan
- 6:56should understand that there should be more security, not
- 7:00just at UFC fights throughout these big events that they have
- 7:03a playoff advance. There has to be more protection
- 7:06for the fans and some of the people that are there paying big
- 7:10money to go and see the fights or big money to go watch Ranger
- 7:13games or basketball games for the Knicks.
- 7:15That's something that Madison Square Garden needs to figure
- 7:18out. I think there is not enough
- 7:19security there. And you have all these
- 7:21self-proclaimed MMA fighters or guys that they think are the
- 7:25toughest SOB's in the world. And you saw what happened on
- 7:30national, you know, pay-per-view television.
- 7:33You see a brawl happen on, you know, right in front of the fans
- 7:38and it's it's just embarrassing. And Dana White after the fights
- 7:41came out and apologized. I don't think you can apologize
- 7:45for what happened and, and in the breakout of fight and it
- 7:48took forever to stop. And you you would think, and
- 7:52I've seen this before and I've, I've been to UFC fights, but
- 7:55I've also been to Bellador fights.
- 7:57You see fights in the kind of the skirmish usually ends very
- 8:00quickly. This did not end very quickly.
- 8:03It looked like a Mike Tyson fight.
- 8:05That's what it looked like. I don't know if remember the
- 8:07Mike Tyson brawl that happened in, you know, all out in the
- 8:11audience, but it wasn't as bad as that because there were
- 8:14chairs being thrown and everybody was fighting on all
- 8:17different directions. It was 1 area of the ring.
- 8:21But I, I mean, I, I, there's no excuse for that embarrassment.
- 8:26There really isn't. I don't care if you're a
- 8:28McGregor fan. I don't care if you're I, I
- 8:31don't care who you, who you're rooting for.
- 8:33This is an event you go to an event to enjoy the fight, not be
- 8:38the fight. And that's what broke out.
- 8:40It was just an absolute skirmish of just stupidity.
- 8:45The UFC needs to find and and keep these guys outside of these
- 8:50fights. This is an embarrassment, really
- 8:53a big embarrassment. But let's get away from that.
- 8:56Let's get to the fights. And Mahachev is a sensational
- 9:01fighter, a boring fighter. Islam is a boring fighter.
- 9:04And Jack Della, I call him Jack Della, I'll call him Jack.
- 9:09But Jack was going into a fight where he's just walking into a
- 9:14guy that's going to take you down and dominate the fight.
- 9:16There were a lot of kicks being thrown.
- 9:18And I think Magdalena was just getting kicked all over his
- 9:24legs, being dominated. And then when he wanted it, and
- 9:27I'll say this, Islam, when he wanted to take him down at will,
- 9:29he took him down at will and he just dominated him on the
- 9:32ground. And it was expected.
- 9:33Islam is one of the best grounded # fighters in mixed
- 9:36martial arts. These Russian fighters know how
- 9:40to dominate and and completely control you on the ground.
- 9:43And you you saw it. If there was nothing more to say
- 9:46about that fight, but it comparing them to Anderson
- 9:48Silver, I don't know about that. Anderson Silver as one of the
- 9:53best Brazilian fight, Brazil, Brazilian judicial fighters
- 9:55we've ever seen, one of the best stand up fighters we've ever
- 9:58seen in UFC history. Islam is not one of those guys.
- 10:01Mahachov is is not a guy. And by the way, when any when
- 10:06anybody tries to compare fighters in the past and and
- 10:09compare fighters to the future of what the mixed martial arts
- 10:12world is going to be, I'm not going to compare a guy that is
- 10:16going to take you down at will. And there are three guys right
- 10:19now in the UFC that don't just do that.
- 10:21And Islam is one of them. He is a great wrestler all
- 10:25around fighter. I wouldn't consider him if he
- 10:28fights Uzman I I think this is going to be an out complete
- 10:32domination. Uzman can't fight wrestlers.
- 10:36He's not very good at fighting wrestlers.
- 10:38Now he's going to get into an Octagon with one of the greatest
- 10:40wrestlers we've seen. I, I just, I, it doesn't make
- 10:43any sense why he wants to fight Uzman.
- 10:46Uzman is not the same fighter he was as a dominant fighter four
- 10:49years ago, three years ago. He's a good fighter.
- 10:52He's not a fighter that I'm, I'm looking forward to fight Islam
- 10:56in the in the next fight. So that, that I would say about
- 11:00that. So Jake, I'll let you guys go
- 11:02into this fight first and your thoughts to the Islam fight in
- 11:05Mandalina. I, I just, it wasn't one of
- 11:08those fights that I could say, wow, this was a great one.
- 11:11This was a fight that honestly was as boring as we expected it
- 11:15to be. Yeah, I mean it.
- 11:17You know, we saw, like you said, Errol, I mean, JDM, he he tried,
- 11:21but he just couldn't break the grip of Islam the whole time.
- 11:24He did do a great job again, defending the submission
- 11:28attempts. I don't think Islam had a single
- 11:29one because Jack was constantly fighting them and it seemed like
- 11:32Craig Jones had him well prepared for that.
- 11:35But again, he just, whenever he tried to stand up, he was always
- 11:38like too late into the round. And by then the round was over.
- 11:41I think they said that at the end of the fight, Islam had 19
- 11:45minutes of control time on the ground, which is it's, it's
- 11:48unbelievable. I mean, he only had about 6
- 11:50minutes of time on the feet where he wasn't getting
- 11:52controlled and Islam just put it on on JDM.
- 11:56And I was kind of a little bit disappointed in JDMI thought he
- 11:58was going to do better than that.
- 11:59It seemed like he almost similar to the DDP Shamaya fight where
- 12:04it was kind of like he was just hoping to fight the submissions
- 12:07and, you know, just try to buck up and get out of those
- 12:10takedowns. Like he did a lot of good jobs
- 12:11and scramble and trying to scramble and getting in a
- 12:14different holds and avoiding submissions.
- 12:16But he couldn't, you know, break Islam's grip and he couldn't get
- 12:19away from him. So, yeah, again, we kind of as
- 12:22what's to be expected and it just shows how dominant Islam
- 12:25Makatchev is going right up to Walter Way and pretty much just
- 12:28walking through JDM. And now he's the new Walter Way
- 12:31champion. So, you know, you got to give a
- 12:33big congratulations to Islam Makatchev, even though again,
- 12:35yeah, not not the most interesting fight, but a
- 12:38dominant performance, fantastic. And really with this undercard,
- 12:42so many great Walter Way fights. And even though I know you said
- 12:45that Kamara Usman is not quite what he was, he was the one guy
- 12:48who was able to stick it with arms out Shamayev and get up
- 12:52from those takedowns and he wouldn't let him take him down.
- 12:54So I would be intrigued for that fight.
- 12:55Even though his knees are a little bit shot and he's older
- 12:58in age, he's looking for a title shot.
- 13:00He had a great win over Joaquin Buckley.
- 13:02So I'm excited for that fight. I'd really love to see Shavkot,
- 13:06Rachmanov, That's who I'd love to see.
- 13:07Fight is on Makachev, but he's been away for so long at this
- 13:10point, so who knows now? And I don't really know what his
- 13:13injury history is and what's going on with him.
- 13:15And of course, next week we have Allah Muhammad versus Ian Gary.
- 13:18And if Gary is to have a dominant win, I think he will be
- 13:22in line next. Of course, there is always that
- 13:24Iliad Taporia fight, but I think that's probably more down the
- 13:27road towards the White House card.
- 13:29So there's a lot of interesting things.
- 13:30Carlos protest. Obviously Michael Morales had a
- 13:32huge knockout. So there's there's plenty of
- 13:35things to come. But again, dominant win for
- 13:37Islam and it seems like we just got all we can hope for is that
- 13:41he gets a competitive fight in the future.
- 13:42That's all we can really hope for.
- 13:44But congratulations to Islam, huge win.
- 13:46It's a boring fight, but a great fight.
- 13:49Like in the way you want to look at it like boring as a casual
- 13:51fan, but like as somebody that knows what he's going to do,
- 13:54just not only how good he is, how technical and how he can.
- 13:58As soon as he get, you can't really do anything.
- 14:00And you kind of knew what that is going to be when he kind of
- 14:03came into the fight, what it was going to see if JDM could
- 14:07counter and get out and see if he could try and land something
- 14:10and do something with it. I the Usman is, is kind of
- 14:13interesting and I've got to know him because he wrestled here in
- 14:16Nebraska at Carney and under travel who's at Nebraska and was
- 14:21an Olympian. So but he's shit.
- 14:24He's almost 40 now. Had some injuries, had a couple
- 14:28rough patches, had a good win last.
- 14:30But it'll be interesting to see. I think he gets one more shot at
- 14:35it. That's probably his last one, if
- 14:38I'm being honest. He's kind of ran his course and
- 14:40I think, you know, he's towards the tail end of it, but it was a
- 14:44fight we expected, but you'd like to see a little bit more
- 14:47fireworks. But we've we've come to kind of
- 14:49been like, all right, this camp, you know what you're going to
- 14:51get from these guys and it's just it's so like good and
- 14:55technical when you like break it down to like XS and OS of what
- 14:58it is, you're just like, they're just so good.
- 15:00Like they don't like they don't have to press.
- 15:02They don't. They just are really good at
- 15:04what they do and it's boring to the casual fan that wants to see
- 15:07a bone nickel fucking KO and and all that stuff, which is
- 15:11obviously exciting that that dudes might still not know where
- 15:14he's at by the way, so. He's still, he's still growing
- 15:18into the sport. So like that was a good finish
- 15:20by bone nickel. But yeah, like Java, like you
- 15:22said, I mean, it seems kind of like JD, like obviously is that
- 15:25big wide boxer stance. And Islam took advantage of
- 15:28that. He hit him with those those calf
- 15:29kicks early. And it seemed like Jack, as you
- 15:32got to like round three and four, he was grimacing a lot.
- 15:35He was kind of compromised as coaches were yelling at him like
- 15:37you got to open up, you got to go for it.
- 15:39And it just kind of seemed like. He couldn't though, because what
- 15:42do you do? You chop down a tree.
- 15:43Where do you go? Yeah, no, I mean he, he was
- 15:45compromised pretty much after round three, I'd say.
- 15:48Like he, it just seemed like he, not that he quit, but like he
- 15:51just like he didn't have anything to push off of anymore.
- 15:54His legs were so destroyed so. That's what wrestlers do.
- 15:57That's what wrestlers do. They chop at you until they can
- 15:59take you down. And once they take you down and
- 16:01they know they can control you on the ground.
- 16:03And that's what Islam did. He, he, Jack Deller is a guy
- 16:06that is going to stand up with you.
- 16:08He's going to try to knock you out.
- 16:09And as soon as you control the one thing that he's strong AT
- 16:12and you can do the things that he can't, can't do on the
- 16:15ground, which everybody expected.
- 16:17I don't think anybody was doubting Islam's talent.
- 16:20He can, he can go and dominate you on the ground.
- 16:23He could dominate anybody. If Islam wants a fight in the
- 16:26the middle weight division, if he wants a fight in the light
- 16:29heavyweight division, he could because of his tactical
- 16:32wrestling and what he could do on the ground.
- 16:34He's one of the best tactical wrestlers we've ever seen.
- 16:37So I, I'm not surprised that he dominated the fight.
- 16:41And I mean, he dominated. When you look at the points, I
- 16:44mean, and I'm looking at the the scores right now, 50 to 45,
- 16:47that's domination. I mean, five points.
- 16:51I mean, that's his domination. Possibly every judge had the
- 16:54same scorecard. 5045 unanimous decision all the same.
- 16:58Islam. I'm looking at it right now, it
- 17:00wasn't even close. And again.
- 17:02The only thing that I thought that why this would be a little
- 17:04bit more competitive a fight is Islam was coming up as a
- 17:07lightweight and look, obviously it was it showed.
- 17:10Now he was killing himself to cut down that weight.
- 17:12So he looked big. He looked strong in this fight.
- 17:15So it really didn't. It looks like 170 is his his
- 17:18weight class is his natural weight class because he looked a
- 17:20lot happier. He looked a lot faster.
- 17:22He looked a lot, you know, better honestly, because he
- 17:25wasn't draining himself to go down to 55.
- 17:27So it seems like that's his weight.
- 17:29I, I think, and I think he'll stay at that way because he
- 17:32knows he can dominate at that weight class and, and there's a
- 17:34lot of good fighters in that weight class.
- 17:36He's dominating at the 155 And he, he will eventually, like you
- 17:40said, there's a good chance that that White House fight could be
- 17:44something that everybody's looking forward to.
- 17:46And, and maybe he cuts down to 155 to, to, to get, to get that
- 17:50opportunity to fight a guy that is been as dominated as he's
- 17:54been since he's came into, he's coming to the UFC.
- 17:56But Islam is the best tactical, I believe, wrestler in mixed
- 18:01martial arts. And that's crazy to say because
- 18:03there's quite a few of them that are really, really good.
- 18:05But he is the best and you can see why everybody talks about
- 18:10this kid being as dominant as he's been.
- 18:12I mean, he look at his record, he's 17 and one as AUFC fighter.
- 18:17I mean, the last time we've seen a record of this magnitude was
- 18:21I, and I'll say this, Jon Jones. Jon Jones has lost one fight and
- 18:25was a disqualification. When we go back and we look at
- 18:29what Islam has done. In that fight, I was at that
- 18:32fight. And I remember, I remember.
- 18:34The fighter on an elbow to the top of the head.
- 18:36I remember that fight. I could say this about Islam.
- 18:38Islam the when, When you watch him, it's not just about his
- 18:43tactical ability and what he can do on the ground.
- 18:46It's the way he dominates you on the ground and he doesn't give
- 18:51you any chance to breathe. And when you watch Dak and he
- 18:56was trying to squirm and he's trying to get out of certain
- 18:59things. He got him in half guard.
- 19:01He was trying to pull out and and trying to get control his
- 19:04hands or trying to get out of the grip.
- 19:07There is it's almost physically impossible when you watch a
- 19:10dominant wrestler of this magnitude Islam, the way he he
- 19:14could defend and and put pressure on you when he gets on
- 19:17top of you to get his grip off of off of you.
- 19:21It's his grip is so strong and so powerful.
- 19:25It it that it's like putting bricks on your hands and all
- 19:29these bricks on your hands and trying to trying to get your
- 19:31hands free from it. It it's it's almost impossible.
- 19:34And you saw the dominating ability that this guy has now to
- 19:40to the the undercard. I'm not the undercard.
- 19:43The second main event Valentina and Zhang Zhang has not been the
- 19:46same fighter. She really hasn't been the same
- 19:49fighter in in a, in a very, very long time.
- 19:52And now she she wins fights and but she you could see and I
- 19:57Valentina could be on the tail end of her career And, and we
- 20:01all know how good Valentina is and a lot of people believe
- 20:04eventually she's going to retire.
- 20:05She has to retire eventually. I think there's a couple of
- 20:09fights that people want to see and it could happen.
- 20:13Somebody coming back from retirement that's been.
- 20:17The conversation after her next fight, So we'll see.
- 20:20I'm not going to mention any names because we got to see if
- 20:23that'll ever happen, but Valentina dominated Zhang.
- 20:26I don't think there's anything about Valentina could go down as
- 20:29the greatest woman fighter of all time and a lot of people.
- 20:34Technically, she is the greatest technical fighter we've ever
- 20:37seen. Muay Thai wrestler, Brazilian
- 20:40Jiu Jitsu artist, I mean, stand up kickboxer.
- 20:44I mean, I don't know about boxer because there's somebody that
- 20:46just came back from retirement that couldn't, you know, beg to
- 20:49differ on that. But I just, and I'm, I'm talking
- 20:52about Nunez. I want to see Amanda Nunez and,
- 20:54and Valentina fight again. I, I, I'm interested to see if
- 20:57that'll ever happened. Amanda Nunez has a fight coming
- 21:01up. I want to see and, and people
- 21:02want to see if she comes out the winner, we might see the
- 21:05Valentina fight because I think Valentina would oblige her in
- 21:08and actually fight her. But I, I think what Valentina
- 21:11has done for mixed martial arts and women mixed martial arts has
- 21:16really taking mixed martial arts to another level.
- 21:19And I think what she brings to the table is not just technical
- 21:25type of fighting, it's just what she can do as a fan favorite and
- 21:29what she brings she she went overseas for four years to train
- 21:34in Muay Thai. I mean, for somebody to, to
- 21:38really give her life to mixed martial arts and what she has
- 21:41done for mixed martial arts is incredible.
- 21:44And Dana White said said it best after the fight against Zhang.
- 21:48He said that it it's not the the person, it's the fighter within
- 21:54and she's a fighter there. There's nothing more to say
- 21:58anything about Valentina is that she is what you want in fighting
- 22:04and women fighting in the future.
- 22:06And you you want to see that for all the next championships
- 22:09champion fighters coming up in all the different weight
- 22:12classes. If you have Valentina's heart,
- 22:15you'll have a chance to be a champion in in multiple
- 22:19different weight classes. And congratulations to
- 22:21Valentina. I don't know how many fights she
- 22:23has left. I want to see that Amanda Nunez.
- 22:25They fought a long time ago. I'd love to see Valentina Amanda
- 22:29Nunez too. That would be fun to watch.
- 22:32Yeah, I think she's obviously proved that she's arguably, if
- 22:35she's not #1 she's definitely #2 right behind Amanda.
- 22:38And that's an interesting point, Harold.
- 22:39I didn't I didn't think about that because I remember back, I
- 22:42think it was 319 UFC, it was Kayla when she'd beat Juliana
- 22:45Pena. She was talking about she wanted
- 22:47to fight Amanda and they even did the square off at for
- 22:50bantamweight. But you know, going back to
- 22:52maybe flyweight. That'd be interesting to see how
- 22:54the rematch of Valentina, the potential number one versus the
- 22:57number 2 because I know I've been coming into this fight, a
- 23:01lot of people were hopping up that this could be the
- 23:03potentially the best ever women's fight of all time
- 23:06because you had Zhang Wei Lee who is dominant champion at 1:15
- 23:10and moving up deciding I'm going to go try to pursue and be at
- 23:13this only ever second ever woman to win 2 divisions 2 two titles
- 23:18and two divisions. But as much as we were just
- 23:20talking about Islam where he looked great at 170 way Lee, she
- 23:25just looked like way too tiny. And you could just see the size
- 23:29discrepancy between Valentina and Zhang because as much as we
- 23:33talked about how Islam just put his hands on JDM and he just
- 23:37held him there, it was almost like 10 times worse that for
- 23:41Valentina against Whaley. Whaley, she just she couldn't
- 23:45get off of Valentina. I thought that Whaley was going
- 23:47to try to use her speed advantage and just stay away
- 23:50from Valentina Pick and pop pick her moments wasn't.
- 23:53Wasn't Whaley the one that lost against Rose twice?
- 23:56Wasn't she the one? That yeah, yeah, she did.
- 23:58But she other than that, she'd have she had gotten her title
- 24:01back. I know, but I don't think she's
- 24:04ever been the same fighter since then.
- 24:06I, I really don't. I think she was so dominant.
- 24:09She was so dominant going into those fights.
- 24:11Nobody thought that anybody had a chance against her.
- 24:14And when Rose beat her not once but twice, I know she's been
- 24:17dominating and dominating the weight class ever since that the
- 24:21the second fight that she lost against Rose, but I don't think
- 24:24there's anybody in that weight class that really could have
- 24:26challenged her. And that's why she moved up in
- 24:29that weight class to fight. Valentine it was.
- 24:32It was interesting because the thing that I thought was strange
- 24:34was she just pretty much destroyed Tatiana Suarez and
- 24:37they were hyping her up as this big time wrestler.
- 24:39Taurus is one of the most overrated fighters.
- 24:42Oh, I just say. But into coming into the fight,
- 24:44they were saying that she had a good chance against Whaley.
- 24:46Yeah, Whaley did whatever wanted to her.
- 24:48And then, yeah, like you said, like it seemed like other than
- 24:52Mackenzie Durham, but even then in her fight, she said if she
- 24:55she didn't think she could beat Whaley at this point yet.
- 24:57So she got a a easier opponent and now she's the champion.
- 25:01But I think the opening odds, I mean, you don't know what
- 25:03Whaley's going to do yet. She's already like a -, 400
- 25:06favorite if she wants to go back to 115 because it seemed like
- 25:09she was the kingpin of that division and she wanted a
- 25:12challenge to move up to fight someone like Valentina
- 25:15Shimchenko. So it kind of puts her in a
- 25:17weird spot because it's like, yeah, maybe, you know, she
- 25:19doesn't really need to go back because she's already proved she
- 25:21can run roughshoded over that division.
- 25:23But it's I don't know if she should stay at 125 because it
- 25:26seemed like, I mean, Valentina again, she's one of the greatest
- 25:28women's fighters of all time, but she pretty much just
- 25:30outclassed her the whole fight. So I don't really know if it's
- 25:33what what the move for her is. It's kind of a weird spot to be
- 25:35in. If you go down, what do you,
- 25:37what do you do? And I mean, I'm the exception
- 25:39because she just basically dictated what she's going to do
- 25:42the whole match. But yeah, it'll be really
- 25:44interesting to see because once you've accomplished that, you
- 25:47did challenge yourself, like go back down.
- 25:49I mean, I don't really, I don't foresee it happening.
- 25:52So it's like, do I stay here and see what happens?
- 25:54Or I mean, it's just an amazing, just that difference in weight,
- 25:58how much it can affect you and and how, you know, crazy that it
- 26:04changes so quick in in the game of of the fight game.
- 26:07So she, like you said, she's just been kind of in a weird
- 26:10predicament. Yeah, Job, what was what was
- 26:12weird about that was because obviously they're not letting
- 26:14people do dual double champions really anymore because at least
- 26:18when Volkanovsky fought Islam Makachev, he was still the
- 26:21featherweight champion, so he was allowed to go back down,
- 26:23defend his title. But now for Whaley, she
- 26:26relinquished her title. So it's like, OK, do you just
- 26:28put her right back up against Mackenzie Dern or does she stay
- 26:31at 1:25 and try to work back up to Valentina?
- 26:34It's it's a weird case. Like, same with Islam.
- 26:36If he had lost his fight to JDM, does he just go right back down
- 26:39to challenge Eliot Zaporius? But like, you know, he doesn't
- 26:42have that problem. So, you know, Whaley, it's it's
- 26:44going to be weird to see. But yeah, who knows?
- 26:47And then there was the Michael Morales, you said it and Sean
- 26:49Brady. I, I will say this.
- 26:51That was the best fight on the card as far as I'm because I
- 26:54know, because it was a knockout and and a lot of people watching
- 26:57these fights, even though they were technically sound and you
- 26:59would like to watch wrestling and ground and pound and that's
- 27:02something you know, but Morales knocking off Brady.
- 27:04Brady was to me the favorite to winning the fight.
- 27:07I mean Brady was an up and coming contender and everybody
- 27:10was saying, oh, this guy is going to be the next big
- 27:12superstar for the UFC. And then morale.
- 27:15He walks into Morales and Morales knocks him out and it's
- 27:19to me, that's what makes mixed martial arts so fun to watch is,
- 27:22is something that you don't expect to happen.
- 27:25And I, it was surprising you, you saw it, you know, from the
- 27:30guys the ring announces on the sidelines when the, when the
- 27:33knockout came. I, I think, I think, I, I think
- 27:35the fact is, is when, when you think about matchups and
- 27:38technically sound matchups and you try to match these guys,
- 27:42it's it. The UFC for years have had
- 27:45problems putting good matchups against one another because I
- 27:48just think there's not enough good fighters right now in mixed
- 27:51martial arts and in the UFC and when Morales everybody.
- 27:56I think if you were a betting man, you had Brady winning this
- 27:58fight either by knockout or decision.
- 28:01And the way Morales, you know, just and honestly, I got to give
- 28:05Morales a little bit more credit.
- 28:07I think Morales has an opportunity now to maybe if he
- 28:12wins another fight to be a title contender.
- 28:14And it's pretty incredible how Brady was right there to be the
- 28:20next the next big thing. And now he drops and Morales
- 28:24moves up and if he wins another big fight, he's the contender
- 28:28just because of a knockout. It's incredible.
- 28:30And that's, that's the thing about mixed martial arts that
- 28:32you love and is, is it's so crazy how one guy can drop from
- 28:38from from behind the the contender and jump right all the
- 28:41way up from one fight and be a contender for that, that weight
- 28:46class. So it congratulations to
- 28:47Morales. I thought that was the fight of
- 28:50of the card. And I think that was fight of
- 28:52the night. I I might just slightly
- 28:54disagree. I think it is a great arrow, but
- 28:56I mean Carlos protest on Leon Edwards for me that I think that
- 28:59has to go for. I mean it was just unbelievably,
- 29:01if you looked at protest when he when he had Leon on his back, he
- 29:05stood up there. He's getting hit in the face and
- 29:08he's just looking straight at the camera like he he is
- 29:11unbothered, didn't give it, give it you know what?
- 29:13And then he just straight jab knocks Leon on his ass.
- 29:19So honestly, like you said, like maybe it's one more fight for
- 29:22each of them. I think that would be a hell of
- 29:23a match there maybe. Leon Edwards, he's hasn't been,
- 29:27he hasn't been the same fighter since he's been the champion and
- 29:31and. Now, after he lost his title,
- 29:32lose to Bilal and he got submitted by Sean Brady and this
- 29:36was the first time he's ever been TKOD.
- 29:38I even just knocked that or, you know, finished by a knockout by
- 29:41Carlos Prata. So, yeah, it's not a great skid
- 29:44for Leon, but, you know, maybe he can, you know, he's still
- 29:48somewhat kind of young. Maybe he can try to pull it
- 29:50together, but it's not a great sign.
- 29:52But there's a lot of young, hungry contenders in that
- 29:54welterweight division. So I'm excited to see what they
- 29:56do in the coming coming months. All right, I want to finish up
- 29:59with this Jake Paul fight and I left the best for last because I
- 30:03I think Jake Paul is absolutely out of his effing mind.
- 30:08All right, you have to be the dumbest marketer and I'll say
- 30:14this, he is a marketing sensation.
- 30:16The guy knows how to make money. You do not, I repeat, you do
- 30:20not. And, and I understand Anthony
- 30:22Joshua is not the same fighter. That's fine.
- 30:25This is a 6 foot six £250 monster who has knocked out some
- 30:33of the best heavyweights in the world and you're going to go in
- 30:39a month's time in the ring and I don't think Anthony Joshua
- 30:44cares. Anthony Joshua can eat his eat
- 30:46himself out of a house and home and and Jake Paul could be in
- 30:50the best shape of his life and doesn't stand a chance against
- 30:53this guy. You're going to first of all,
- 30:55you're going to fight with 10 oz gloves in a heavyweight that
- 30:59you're fighting. It's not an exhibition fight.
- 31:02This is a real fight and unless Anthony Joshua is going to get
- 31:05paid off to lose this fight, and I don't think Anthony Joshua
- 31:09will be laughed at if he loses his fight against Jake Paul.
- 31:13I expect this to be a first or second round knockout easily.
- 31:17Jake Paul does not know how to fight.
- 31:20He's never fought a big heavyweight boxer like this.
- 31:23This is a guy that throws heavy jabs and throws an absolute
- 31:27monster left hook. I, I mean, I don't think he
- 31:30stands a chance. And, and, and if Jake Paul is
- 31:34around in this fight, I give him credit.
- 31:37I, I mean, this is ridiculous. This is to me, this is a mockery
- 31:42of boxing. When, when you see and, and
- 31:44Joshua should be ashamed of himself because I would have
- 31:47rather seen Nagano fight against him because this is an ex UFC
- 31:52fighter trying to box and that would have been more
- 31:55interesting. But it's to see this I, I mean,
- 32:01this hurts boxing. I, I, I really do.
- 32:04And, and I, I think this is a mockery.
- 32:06I Anthony Joshua, you better knock him out in the first
- 32:09round. You better knock him out and
- 32:10teach Jake Paul a little bit of a lesson that you don't
- 32:14challenge a heavyweight fighter. You don't challenge a real
- 32:17professional boxer at your own game.
- 32:19This is this is by far the best fighter he's ever fought
- 32:22against. It's not even close.
- 32:24And to fight Tank Davis, I think that made more sense because
- 32:27he's like 70 lbs or 60 lbs heavier than him.
- 32:31This guy is 30 lbs heavier than him at his best day.
- 32:35And this guy throws heavy, heavy punches.
- 32:39So I Jake Paul doesn't stand a chance in this fight.
- 32:43I think he's out of his mind. I think he's out of his mind.
- 32:45That's all I'm going to say about that out of don't look at
- 32:48that. Come on, guys.
- 32:49Watch Anthony Joshua, dude. He's throwing jabs that can
- 32:54knock you out. Yeah, I know that originally
- 32:57Jake Paul was going to fight Gravante Davis.
- 32:59I believe it's like at the end of this year, but he got some
- 33:02legal problems. So that's off now.
- 33:04I think Nate Diaz said he was going to take his spot.
- 33:06They're going to have a rematch when they already fought.
- 33:08So is that fight still on? And now he this is later down
- 33:10the road, he wants to fight Anthony Joshua.
- 33:12They're saying December 19th, Anthony Joshua and.
- 33:16He's still going to fight Nate Diaz?
- 33:17Or is this in? Place what I'm reading there is
- 33:21he's fighting Anthony Joshua December.
- 33:23Ninth. Yeah, Anthony Joshua was the
- 33:24only one. OK, alright, I was gonna say
- 33:26this. Unbelievable.
- 33:28How do you say, yeah, he goes from one of the greatest, you
- 33:31know, I guess younger or lighter weight boxers to a former
- 33:35heavyweight boxer. I I did see that there was, I
- 33:38think a clause for Anthony Joshua that he can't go above
- 33:41200 and like 65 lbs. Who?
- 33:43Cares, I believe. Yeah, no, but I mean, you know,
- 33:45I don't know how I know Jake Paul is like a bigger guy.
- 33:48And I actually do give him credit for this, for not having
- 33:50this be an exhibition fight and it's actually going to be a
- 33:52sanctioned. Real.
- 33:53You know why he's doing that, right?
- 33:55Because if if. Ability and.
- 33:58If he beats Anthony Joshua, knocks him out, he's going to
- 34:03say, I just knocked out at one point the heavyweight champion
- 34:07of the world, and he's going to say, OK, where's Canelo?
- 34:11Where's this? This would be huge for him and
- 34:15his marketing scheme. I couldn't.
- 34:17I'm going to tell you, if Anthony Joshua gets paid off to
- 34:20lose this fight, this is an embarrassment.
- 34:22If he does, if he if he does just let's hypothetically, what
- 34:26do you think that number would be for him to like make sense?
- 34:30I'm going to tell you this, I would, I would put a lot, a
- 34:33little bit of shekels on Jake Paul in this fight just for the
- 34:36sake of doing it because. Don't be.
- 34:38I'll be saying that Errol, he's going to he's going to come sue
- 34:40you. I'm.
- 34:42Just saying, put a couple of shekels on Jake Paul in this
- 34:46fight because I wouldn't be surprised if Anthony Joshua
- 34:51loses this fight because of a couple of, you know, 40 or 50
- 34:55million that says, hey, you know what, I'm 40 or $50 million
- 34:59richer and I'm going to make the most money I've ever made off a
- 35:02fight, a heavyweight fight in my career.
- 35:07I I wouldn't be surprised. I wouldn't be surprised.
- 35:10I'm telling you guys, you don't think that Anthony Joshua would
- 35:13throw throw this fight. I think he would.
- 35:16I think there's a lot of money is a lot of shekels to say that
- 35:18he would. If you're a betting man, bet on
- 35:20Jake Paul in this fight because I think the number is ridiculous
- 35:25when it comes to Joshua winning this fight.
- 35:27I think it's not like a minus 2000, OK, that he knocks out
- 35:33Jake Paul in the first 3 rounds. So I, I don't know what the
- 35:36number is. What is the number right now in
- 35:38Vegas? I, I think people, somebody
- 35:41better look that up because I think the numbers are ridiculous
- 35:44right now. Ridiculous.
- 35:45A couple zeros to his fight burst, he might take a dive.
- 35:48I, I wouldn't be surprised. I wouldn't be surprised.
- 35:51I'm talking, I don't think Anthony Joshua has ever made $50
- 35:54million on a fight. I don't think he's ever made $50
- 35:57million. So what is the number right now
- 36:01when it comes to this fight on Vegas?
- 36:04It's very simple. You can Google it, guys.
- 36:06It'll pop right up on your face. What what it is right now, It
- 36:10is. What is it a minus?
- 36:12I'm saying that. I'm saying that, Jake.
- 36:13Tells that he's curvy -1450 seventy.
- 36:17Yeah, he's currently a + 770 underdog.
- 36:20I'm buy, I'm, I'm buying into that.
- 36:22I'm buying into that. I'm putting 50 on it.
- 36:25I'm putting 50 on Jake Ball in this fight 100%.
- 36:29This is an absolute slam dunk, guys.
- 36:32I I and here's it. And if you're if you're a prop
- 36:35editor, I would say that Jake Paul when he gets out of he gets
- 36:39out of the first two rounds of this fight, because I could see
- 36:43Anthony Joshua absolutely throwing this fight.
- 36:46I can see it. I can absolutely see it.
- 36:48If you're a betting man, bet it. I'm I'm going to do it. 50
- 36:52bucks. Why not?
- 36:53It's 50 bucks and I, I and I could be 50.
- 36:56What is if I, if I win this fight 50 on -1450 what is that?
- 37:03What do I win on that? Does anybody have the math on
- 37:06that? What do I get here?
- 37:08Are you taking Joshua? No, I'm taking, I'm no, I'm
- 37:10taking $385 so. Yeah, it's, it's just half.
- 37:14So like plus is like so it was plus 7, whatever it was.
- 37:18You just cut that in half because it's all bet upon me.
- 37:20It's 100. All right, so I I'll bet on Paul
- 37:23and I'll win myself. For 50, what is it 775?
- 37:26$775 is that what you're saying, Speedy?
- 37:29So I I get seven 770. $5 You get half of that if you bet 50.
- 37:33Yeah, I'm sort of do it. So it's I get half of it.
- 37:36So I get 385. Thank you, Jarrett.
- 37:40I, I, I so I put 100 on it. I get I get double that amount.
- 37:44So I get 700 and something dollars.
- 37:45I'm going to do it, ladies and gentlemen.
- 37:47Why not I? You could use.
- 37:50That no, I think it sounds, I think it smells kind of fishy
- 37:52like you say. I'm staying away from that.
- 37:54I'm staying away from those bets.
- 37:56I'm a little part of that. Jake, I, I thank you for joining
- 37:59us. I, I think it's great that
- 38:01you're, you join us every single time.
- 38:03You're one of our interns, you're our UFC extraordinaire.
- 38:06And I, I like your takes. And I'm, I'm going to tell you
- 38:09this right now, Mahachev or Mahachev is one of those guys
- 38:14that you love to watch technically, but just can't
- 38:19stand watching him win every single time.
- 38:21Because this guy, I, I, I just don't know who's going to beat
- 38:25him. And even if he goes down to 155
- 38:28for the White House, I, I think that's a good fight.
- 38:31But I mean, his wrestling skills are just so much better than
- 38:36everybody else's. It's just ridiculous.
- 38:38So it's going to be fun. It'll be fun.
- 38:41And I'm I'm interested to see that line up because they're
- 38:44saying this is the greatest card we're ever going to see.
- 38:47Well, you know, Jon Jones coming out of retirement, is that great
- 38:51to watch? And do I want to see him fight
- 38:53Pereira or do I want to see him fight the guy that he's been
- 38:56ducking and weaving? OK.
- 38:58Because to me, that's what I want to see.
- 39:00I want to see the ducking and weaving.
- 39:01I don't want to see Pereira because I think he matches up
- 39:05very well against Pereira. I think it would be best to
- 39:08fight against the guys that have said that he's been ducking and
- 39:12weaving him for the last three or four years.
- 39:14So anyways, Jake, we appreciate you man.
- 39:17Yep. Thanks fellas.
- 39:18Good seeing you. Jake, ladies and gentlemen,
- 39:21great UFC personality, I mean, great UFC extraordinaire, great
- 39:26personality. He knows his mixed martial arts
- 39:28and Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua Shekels, ladies and gentlemen,
- 39:33put it all on Paul because I had this.
- 39:36Something smells a little fishy on this fight.
- 39:39I it smells very, very fishy. If somebody's going to throw the
- 39:42fight, that's just me. All right, ladies in and
- 39:46gentlemen, our final segment of the night, we call this Dial It
- 39:49Up. We interrupted this regularly
- 39:50scheduled hot mix to bring your important news.
- 39:53We got a. Big broadcast to do here.
- 39:55We're about to dial it up. You just made my nipples.
- 39:57Sorry. It makes my pecker.
- 40:00Hard right guys. Welcome back.
- 40:03Another tow job. Everyone's favorite Lightning
- 40:07round Sports News segment, and we're going to start it off
- 40:10today. Errol hasn't seen the story yet,
- 40:13but I bet you can guess what we're about to talk about.
- 40:16Oh, the great former All Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown
- 40:19facing 30 years in jail. Get this, they had to extradite
- 40:25Antonio Brown from Dubai, where he apparently fled to after the
- 40:31shooting back in May. He left her sometime in June.
- 40:35He posted bond to get out. Basically what happened?
- 40:39According to the report, he got into a fistfight with the victim
- 40:42at some point earlier in the night, then later in the night
- 40:47grabbed a security guard's gun and fired two shots at the guy,
- 40:52grazing his neck. Brown, on the other hand, claims
- 40:56that he used his own gun and was trying to defend himself from
- 41:00people trying to rob him of jewelry.
- 41:03Brown has been vocal about his incident and innocence in the
- 41:06months since, but now needs to convince a Florida court system
- 41:11whose standards are quite different than that of Twitter
- 41:14and Instagram. Errol Dumpling up.
- 41:19Throw him in behind bars and throw away the keys.
- 41:22I mean, this guy is out of his freaking mind.
- 41:25I every single story that I've heard behind the scenes about
- 41:29this particular shooting him, taking shots at it and then
- 41:33pulling the the gun from the security guard.
- 41:35I mean, it's just absolutely pathetic.
- 41:37Antonio Brown has mental issues. He's got anger issues.
- 41:41Remember when he a couple of years ago when he locked himself
- 41:43in a house and the police were trying to get him out of there?
- 41:46And I just, he doesn't. The only thing that I've heard
- 41:50about him over the years is that he's somewhat of a good dad, but
- 41:54he doesn't treat women right. He doesn't treat teammates
- 41:56right. He's out of his friggin mind.
- 41:59As much money as he's made as a football player is, is as much
- 42:03money as he's lost outside of the football field.
- 42:06The guy is out of his friggin mind.
- 42:08Get rid of him. Like I said, first thing I said
- 42:11during this take, take the key and throw it away.
- 42:15This guy is nuts. 30 years, throw him for life.
- 42:18He almost killed somebody. I don't care what he did trying
- 42:21to steal. You don't you're you're the face
- 42:24of it when you're when you're one of the faces of the NFL over
- 42:28the years as a wide receiver, you have to understand that you
- 42:30don't do things on and off the field that would get you into
- 42:33trouble. This guy every single time gets
- 42:36himself into trouble and he's been the face of just humility.
- 42:39I think he's an idiot. Throw away the key.
- 42:42Yeah, it's all added up over a span of really, since he got
- 42:45traded from the Steelers, just all the issues that he had with
- 42:48the Raiders, all the issues that he had with the Buccaneers,
- 42:50obviously storming off the field.
- 42:51We knew there was a case of him being crazy.
- 42:53And now he's taking it to really just homicidal levels.
- 42:56And it's really sad to to think that these innocent victims are
- 42:59being are being harmed because of his incompetence and his just
- 43:03him being messed up in so many ways.
- 43:04You talked about it like he literally broke into a locked
- 43:07house, a big house with not just like little God, like a hunting
- 43:11rifle or something like that. And that's all of a sudden, not
- 43:15even the last thing there. There's more things here.
- 43:17He's getting arrested in these foreign countries.
- 43:19It's all just added up over time.
- 43:20I agree with you. I don't want to hear this guy
- 43:22ever being released on any terms ever again.
- 43:26All right, let's move on to the next story.
- 43:29There he is. LeBron, Bronney, Errol, I don't
- 43:34know if you've been paying attention.
- 43:35I have. But my God, they've started
- 43:39Brownie James couple of Times Now.
- 43:41I'm sure you're not surprised. He was terrible, scored zero
- 43:44points in 10 minutes, missed both his shots.
- 43:47I think he had one assist. They only let him play 10
- 43:51minutes even though he started. At the same time as this was
- 43:55happening, LeBron was playing in the G League rehabbing from his
- 44:00injury. Despite Bronies stats, the
- 44:04Lakers and Luca have been excellent, racing out to a 10
- 44:07and four start early in the season.
- 44:11But it feels like it's the world is upside down with Bronie
- 44:15playing these minutes. Lebron's going to come back
- 44:17soon. They don't play the same
- 44:18position. I think the big question as we
- 44:21get into the season, Errol, how many minutes is Bronie going to
- 44:25take from real NBA players? Is this going to hurt them in
- 44:29the long run? Hold it off.
- 44:32Embarrassment. The Lakers should be ashamed of
- 44:34himself. I I don't know why he's still on
- 44:37his roster. He should be playing in the G
- 44:38League with his father. It's an embarrassment.
- 44:41It really is an embarrassment to basketball.
- 44:43He is the worst player that's starting right now in the NBA.
- 44:47He could be the worst player I've ever seen get drafted and
- 44:51make the money that he's made over the years.
- 44:53Coming from the second round I can name we we talk about
- 44:58obviously Yokich being a second round draft Picket Mitchell
- 45:02Robinson being a second round draft pick.
- 45:04These guys are actually dominating players at their
- 45:07position. This guy is the worst at his
- 45:10position. When he was starting at his
- 45:12first starting game as an NBA player, 0 assists, 0 points, 0
- 45:16rebounds and he had like I don't even know how many shots.
- 45:19I think he had like 7 or 8 shots.
- 45:21He's horrible, he's inconsistent and he shouldn't be in the NBA.
- 45:25Shame on the NBA. Shame on the LJA for letting
- 45:29this guy breakthrough as a starter in the NBA.
- 45:32An embarrassment. Yeah, I mean, he's not an NBA
- 45:36player. He should still be in college
- 45:38right now. He should be going into his
- 45:39junior year at USC right now. He has he has some.
- 45:43He had some potential like he was getting better as a player.
- 45:46He has good instincts on the court.
- 45:47He's a smart player like his dad, but he's not a great
- 45:50athlete. He's not a good shooter Right
- 45:52now, there's nothing, there's no NBA skill that he really
- 45:55possesses right now. There's a decent IQ on the
- 45:59court. He's a six two on athletic
- 46:01guard. Like those guys don't make it in
- 46:03the NBA. He's there because they're
- 46:05worried. Lebron's have not happy that
- 46:08they're moving on to Luka Doncic right now and they're trying to
- 46:10appease him. It's as simple as that.
- 46:13It's just pure nepotism. It's pure trying to appease your
- 46:15star players, which is what the NBA oftentimes is all about.
- 46:21I love it. All right, let's move on.
- 46:23Next story, we're going to go to college football.
- 46:25Arrow, and I don't know if you caught this one, but this was
- 46:28the one of the most wild comebacks.
- 46:31But in the middle of the game after a South Carolina
- 46:34touchdown, the guy runs into the end zone and through the tunnel.
- 46:39His name was Nick Harbour. 80 yard, 80 plus yard.
- 46:43I saw this. He gets into the end zone, he's
- 46:46pulling out the hamstring, trying to ease up as he's going
- 46:48back. A police officer with like a
- 46:51cowboy on comes at him and literally throws a shoulder at
- 46:56him and does the old turn around and what you do, you know, I
- 47:00assume that's what they sound like in Texas.
- 47:05So my question guys, they relieved him of his duties
- 47:10immediately mid game because everyone saw it.
- 47:14It was it was ugly and it was stupid.
- 47:17But the incident became something that was talked about
- 47:19by LeBron James on social media, by Stephen A Smith on his show,
- 47:25which is now on Fox Sports or Fox News rather, and whatever
- 47:30other station he's on. It's becoming a story because of
- 47:33the perceived racial nature of the incident.
- 47:36Regardless of the story, this one is one of the weirdest ones
- 47:41I've seen in a long time. And then immediately after that,
- 47:44Texas A&M went on this crazy comeback to win.
- 47:49I don't even know where to begin with this one.
- 47:50Errol, dial it up. OK, now I I don't know the
- 47:57background of the political end of this and I don't want to get
- 48:00into the politic end of it. Like Stephen A Smith and LeBron
- 48:03James, everybody seems to go into the politic views of this.
- 48:08What I do know is that security guard, that cop should never be
- 48:13allowed to be to go to a college football game again.
- 48:17You don't walk into a player. You don't as far as I'm
- 48:20concerned, you apologize for what you did.
- 48:23Instead, he's yelling at the player and the player really
- 48:26didn't say anything to him. I I didn't see him say really
- 48:28one thing. He turned back around and
- 48:30started walking. I to me, college football and
- 48:35in, in professional sports should be protecting their
- 48:37players. I said this about the UFC and
- 48:39I'll say it again about what goes on on the football field.
- 48:43There's got to be more security. There's got to be more
- 48:45protection. And the security guards hitting
- 48:48players or pushing players or saying things derogatory to
- 48:52players is, is a disgrace. And the NCAA should be going
- 48:57through these guys backgrounds before they let them on the
- 49:00football field and, and check it and, and do a background check
- 49:03on these guys guys. Because obviously this wasn't
- 49:06innocent. This was to me intentional.
- 49:09You could see it in the guy's face.
- 49:11You could see it in security guards face or whatever the cops
- 49:13face when he was speaking to the player.
- 49:15It's an embarrassment. It's a mockery.
- 49:17The NCAA needs to do a little bit more research on who they
- 49:20put on the field that are protecting the players and and
- 49:23protecting the fans out there. Regardless of what that cop was
- 49:28trying to do, the optics are horrendous.
- 49:32Like it was so bad that once it was replayed, they had to fire
- 49:36him within minutes. It was that thing.
- 49:39So, you know, was it a racial thing?
- 49:41Maybe I would say a more likely thing was just the guy trying to
- 49:45be tough and trying to show who's boss because he can use
- 49:48power. But that's that's what I'm
- 49:49saying. Got a gun?
- 49:50That's what I'm saying. It's too many politics and and
- 49:53it's too many, too many things. There's too much stuff going on
- 49:57outside, all the arguing and Jabba, you know this, you're an
- 50:00ex athlete. If somebody did that to you on a
- 50:03baseball field. And and obviously we've seen
- 50:07things happen on a baseball field.
- 50:09We've seen Bryce Harper. Remember that whole skirmish
- 50:11over there with the Nationals and that story how it broke in
- 50:14the dugout? The problem right now in
- 50:16professional sports and college sports is there has to be some
- 50:19kind of background checks on these guys before they they
- 50:23protect, you know, these players and and future stars in
- 50:27professional leagues. I think there's got to be more
- 50:30in depth look before they get a chance to protect these guys.
- 50:33I don't know Texas, but I know there's background checks to be
- 50:36on any type of law enforcement, whether it's local, if it's city
- 50:40state that like there there is here in Nebraska.
- 50:43I know that. So I wanted to do this one
- 50:46because I, I have to tell you a story.
- 50:47They reminded me of something that happened.
- 50:50I'm 23 years old, first thing I do out of college.
- 50:53I'm just coaching 567 year old tackle football.
- 50:56And I take this team on the road, which is hard enough as it
- 51:00is, right? And I go to play some other some
- 51:03other school or other town rather.
- 51:06And. Their officials aren't letting
- 51:08like, plays happen. They're like 13 year old kids.
- 51:10So I just start blowing the whistle and like they're not
- 51:12said, restart the play. I have this guy who looked just
- 51:16like this police officer run onto the field and try to tough
- 51:20talk me. And I'll never forget it.
- 51:22He was like an inch taller than me.
- 51:24He goes. My name's Conrad Fitzpatrick,
- 51:26and I'm going. You.
- 51:27You. You said, hell, I'm going to
- 51:28have you thrown out of this league 'cause I was like, what
- 51:31the hell are you guys doing? Like we got to blow the whistle,
- 51:33You know, like I said it like that, you're like, oh, I'm going
- 51:35to have you thrown out of the league.
- 51:36I'm like, well, you know, you're breaking the rules.
- 51:39Like I'm the head of the board and like it doesn't matter if
- 51:41you do background checks, several the guys that are the
- 51:44worst are at the top. And I found that out in five 6-7
- 51:48year old football. Just imagine what it's like when
- 51:52there's real stakes going on, man.
- 51:54And I'm telling you, people get ugly.
- 51:57I'm assuming this guy's one of the ugliest.
- 52:00I got a really fun story for you.
- 52:02Next up. You're going to love this.
- 52:05This is a couple of our favorites Draymond Green and
- 52:09Angel Reese because of fan starts getting into it with
- 52:15LeBron. I'm sorry with Draymond calling
- 52:18him Angel Reese from the sidelines and in fact it was so
- 52:24aggravating to look to. I keep want to call him LeBron.
- 52:26So Draymond that he goes over in the middle of foul shots and
- 52:32tries to chest chest bump this guy and tough talk him cursing
- 52:36him out during a foul on Herb Jones.
- 52:39Now, apparently he kept calling him Angel Reese because he kept
- 52:43missing shots and getting his own rebounds.
- 52:48But the funny part is even better.
- 52:51He says that I can't allow that to happen.
- 52:55He called me a woman. It was a good joke at first, but
- 52:58you can't keep calling me a woman, OK?
- 53:03The fan said he called him Angel Reese because he's missing easy
- 53:05shots, getting his own rebounds. As you know, she gets criticized
- 53:09for what she then coined into her own shirt.
- 53:11Me bounds. Errol.
- 53:14How we doing with old Draymond these days?
- 53:17Dial it up. It seems like every time
- 53:20Draymond Green has something to say, it's usually on his
- 53:24podcast. But when he's on a basketball
- 53:27court, his game doesn't do the talking anymore.
- 53:30It's his mouth that continues to shed a lot of Gray hairs.
- 53:34And I will say this, I could care less what the fans are
- 53:38saying. You're making millions and
- 53:40millions of dollars. I could call you Angel Reese.
- 53:42I could call you Suge McKnight. I could call you Nugget Killer.
- 53:46I could call you Dirty Nugget or Billy Willy Whopper.
- 53:51I could care less what I call you.
- 53:53You're playing in the NBA or the LJA.
- 53:56You shouldn't care what anybody is calling you.
- 53:59What type of person you are, a girl, a female, a male, whatever
- 54:03the hell you think that you are. Sometimes I wonder if you're a
- 54:06crybaby, a little girl or whatever.
- 54:08The fact here is you're a professional athlete, you're
- 54:11making millions and millions of dollars, and you're playing for
- 54:13a Golden State Warrior team that is expected to make the playoffs
- 54:16and contend for a championship. Stop crying, stop worrying about
- 54:20what the fans are saying to you and just play the goddamn game.
- 54:24That's all I'm going to say about somebody like Draymond
- 54:26Green. Draymond Green, don't worry so
- 54:29much. What people are saying about
- 54:31you, you're all about the media work, you're all about
- 54:34television and what you're saying on your podcast, and I'm
- 54:39sure you have a lot to say on your podcast about this story.
- 54:42I could care less. Stop being a baby.
- 54:45It makes you look like an A. They're fans.
- 54:47That's what they're supposed to do.
- 54:48Like if somebody said something to me like that was good, like I
- 54:52would turn around and give them credit.
- 54:53Be like, that was really good. Like that was awesome.
- 54:55Like I I would interact. That's the best.
- 54:58That's the best part about it is because like you interact and
- 55:01then it's like you catch them off guard, right?
- 55:03Because they're like, Oh no, I was just kidding, man.
- 55:06I'm a huge fan. No, you're not Jackass.
- 55:08Like you just didn't expect me to like talk to you and be like,
- 55:12really you're making fun of me. Like you're an old man making
- 55:15fun. Like I'm a 25 year old kid.
- 55:17Like what are we doing here? But like that's a banter back
- 55:20and forth, like you should love that.
- 55:22Like they're getting so soft where it's it's it's
- 55:27embarrassing really, because you're an athlete.
- 55:31Like you said, you're getting paid millions of dollars.
- 55:32But is it like they always say they don't Boo anybody's that
- 55:36the the 8th dude on the bench. They ain't calling him a pussy.
- 55:40Like no, like take it for a grain of salt.
- 55:42Like go up to him. Like I love him.
- 55:44Like when Westbrook like he he did the same thing.
- 55:48He ran out to a dude in the in like the, the corridor.
- 55:53There's usually like avip section like sometimes when they
- 55:56walk in like the, the locker room that people are standing at
- 56:00and he like walked towards him like he takes it over the top
- 56:02sometimes. But then I saw another one,
- 56:04somebody was giving another dude name was like barking out of me.
- 56:07He was like, dude, that was awesome.
- 56:09Like you get in trouble. He's like they, they, they told
- 56:11me to knock it off or I'm going to kick you out.
- 56:12And he's like, no, that was great.
- 56:13Like I just, I don't get why people get so buttered that if
- 56:18it's talking about your family or whatever, that's one thing.
- 56:20But if you're just getting called names or like calling you
- 56:24Angel, like dude, who cares? Like make fun of him.
- 56:28But like sweet hair, like nice shirt, it's too tight.
- 56:31Wear. Wear an extra.
- 56:32Medium. That's why I like, that's why I
- 56:34have a lot of respect for Metta World Peace, because he had
- 56:38things thrown at him and that's why he went after the fans.
- 56:41I mean, could you imagine if, if somebody was telling Mehta all
- 56:44these things, he'd just laugh at you.
- 56:45He would just stare at you and laugh.
- 56:47You laugh at everything that you say about it.
- 56:49I seen him do it. I was there.
- 56:52Thrown at me. I've had, I've had drinks thrown
- 56:54on me, I've had popcorn, like I had stuff thrown.
- 56:57I mean, you just turn around and laugh like the battery kind of
- 57:01sucked. It didn't give me the dump.
- 57:02It got me like in the back. It didn't feel great.
- 57:05But I'm like whatever. Like you didn't kill me.
- 57:08Like whatever. Like I don't, I don't.
- 57:11Care like play around with them like have fun with it like throw
- 57:16up like they're. There to watch you to make fun
- 57:18of. You like, take that as a
- 57:20compliment that went over like a fart in church.
- 57:24All right. Last one of the night, guys, and
- 57:27this is one of my favorites. Yeah, I don't think you know
- 57:29where I'm going with this NCAA hoops announcer gaffe.
- 57:34Not a Cafe Speedy, which I've heard you pronounce a number of
- 57:37times in the first half of the Xavier, Iowa early season
- 57:41matchup. On I heard about this.
- 57:43It was one of the best Freudian slips in sports ever took place,
- 57:49color commentator Nick Bah. He was trying to be clever
- 57:52playing up on Iowa junior Alvaro Bulgarius nickname El Pulpo,
- 57:57which means octopus in Spanish, and he said testicles were all
- 58:03over the place on that one. El Popo may have had his
- 58:08tentacles everywhere. And because he was the Horizon
- 58:12Player of the Year last year for Robert Morris before
- 58:14transferring to Iowa this season, he did have eight
- 58:18points, eight points and three assists in the block shot in the
- 58:20win. And he seems to be a pretty good
- 58:21player. But Errol, I mean, I don't have
- 58:29the audio. I should try to get the audio.
- 58:31But it's one of the funniest things I've ever heard in my
- 58:33entire life. What are you at least that is in
- 58:37a college basketball game. Are there any classics that you
- 58:40could think of when you? What I will say about this is if
- 58:47you don't know how to pronounce something or you don't know the
- 58:50background of the word in French or even Italian or Spanish,
- 58:56Spanish, don't say it. I honestly think that there's a
- 59:01lot of people over the years that have said stupid things on
- 59:04live radio or even television that you make you make you
- 59:07wonder if they're actually educated.
- 59:10I'm not Gaff. I don't know him personally and
- 59:12I I'm not going to take shots at what he thought the word meant
- 59:16or the the word was going to mean in the argument of whatever
- 59:20he was trying to get and whatever an octopus or tentacles
- 59:24or whatever the hell he wants to call it.
- 59:27I'm not using words that I don't understand.
- 59:30I'm not trying to put myself out there where I could really make
- 59:35myself look like a Jackass and, well, you look like a check,
- 59:40yes. Guys, I mean, we, we, we can all
- 59:42like, talk about times we put our foot in her mouth, you know,
- 59:44saying things that we didn't mean to say.
- 59:46Or Speedy putting something else in his mouth.
- 59:48Right, Speedy. You know, Jared, I'll let you do
- 59:51this one since you rewrote it down first.
- 59:54What's the most famous one that you can?
- 59:55Think to me it's it's the I believe it was the Reds.
- 1:00:00Yeah. They're play by play answer,
- 1:00:03yeah. Drops drops a slur accidentally
- 1:00:06on the air, gift starts giving his long winded apology and
- 1:00:10going on and on. Then just a drive in the deep
- 1:00:14left field by Castellanos Phillies go up 3.
- 1:00:17Nothing in the middle of myself, a man of fate and goes right
- 1:00:21back to the apology, that one. Is hilarious.
- 1:00:26That one was one of the funniest things and that I don't think
- 1:00:28it's worth since. No, No chance.
- 1:00:32No, he was suspended I think at 2022.
- 1:00:34I don't think he's they, they've replaced the the TV guy over the
- 1:00:38radio guy over there. I think it was after.
- 1:00:40That you guys are too young to remember this, but Brent
- 1:00:43Musburger, not you. Their own job of it.
- 1:00:46Brent Musburger. Thank you, love.
- 1:00:48With I think it was AJ. AJ Mccarran's model girlfriend,
- 1:00:52yes. His girlfriend, yeah.
- 1:00:54And every time they showed her on camera, he would just go, oh,
- 1:00:58that is a. Beautiful.
- 1:00:59His wife now. It was just like a right friend.
- 1:01:03We know she is very beautiful. You guys have any?
- 1:01:07Anyone. I have one right now that ended
- 1:01:09somebody's career. It was Imus.
- 1:01:12Imus was on live radio and he was talking about Connecticut
- 1:01:17basketball and he spit out racial things that he shouldn't.
- 1:01:23Was it you sure wasn't Connecticut, whatever it was?
- 1:01:26Rutgers. Women's team.
- 1:01:27It was one of the girl women's basketball teams.
- 1:01:30He said something and he went on this just absolute.
- 1:01:36Nappy headed nose, wasn't it? Yeah, yeah, he said.
- 1:01:39He said some interesting stuff. And this guy I miss is one of
- 1:01:45the greatest broadcasters of our time.
- 1:01:47He's been. He would rest in peace, but that
- 1:01:50ruined his career completely. It completely took away all the
- 1:01:54respect that people had for him. And even Mike Francesco comes
- 1:01:58out to this day says that Imus set his career on that
- 1:02:02trajectory as one of the godfathers of sports radio.
- 1:02:06If it wasn't for him, he wouldn't have his career.
- 1:02:09You always go back on the time that that specific thing was
- 1:02:14said on national radio and you wonder.
- 1:02:17All it takes is one thing. You say that a great career
- 1:02:22turns to nothing and everybody's going to remember that one
- 1:02:25thing, he said. From all the great things he's
- 1:02:27done in his career that changed the sports industry so I miss
- 1:02:31was the one that stuck out to me the most.
- 1:02:33I don't mention one more too though.
- 1:02:35The sexual ones like the ones you were bringing up Fisher,
- 1:02:37those are the ones that always annoyed me the most.
- 1:02:39I think there was a Braves reporter that did it this year
- 1:02:42that was checking out a was it a fan or was it another sideline
- 1:02:46reporter? I don't.
- 1:02:47Yeah, one of them that did that this year.
- 1:02:49And that as far as the pronunciation itself, like it's
- 1:02:51also something like as your basketball broadcaster, you're
- 1:02:53like trying to, why would you want to squeeze in the word
- 1:02:55tentacle when you could just say ink or 8 legs or something like.
- 1:02:58That I just well. You know Errol, I try to make
- 1:03:04the sports minutes very creative and I get myself tongue tied
- 1:03:07sometimes as well. And Tentacles was a good
- 1:03:11reference, however maybe not the best choice in that situation.
- 1:03:16I just, I if I don't know what I'm speaking about, I'm just not
- 1:03:19going to say it's. Also hard to say it that fast
- 1:03:21and not like say it perfectly. That's the problem with sports
- 1:03:24radio is there's a lot of guys in this industry not mentioning
- 1:03:28any names that say things and really don't know what they're
- 1:03:32saying. And then they go on these
- 1:03:34tangents to try to clean up what they say.
- 1:03:36And you're like, I, I don't understand what you're saying.
- 1:03:40So they just dig the hole deeper and deeper and deeper.
- 1:03:44Craig Carton's done it many, many times over the years.
- 1:03:47That makes you wonder why he still has a job.
- 1:03:50But hey, I'm not saying anything.
- 1:03:53I'm not hurting anybody's feelings here because it seems
- 1:03:56like every time I do, I get myself into a little bit of
- 1:03:59trouble. Thank you to all the fans that
- 1:04:01TuneIn to us on Apple and Spotify on the video end on the
- 1:04:05audio end on the YouTube end drop in the mouth on the X on

- 1:04:29And my favorite one was the the New York sports owners.
- 1:04:32Check that one out there. I did this weekend.
- 1:04:35I was trying to figure out how could I attack what's going on
- 1:04:38in New York sports, and I say, you know what, I'm going to put
- 1:04:40an article together on the ownership of sports.
- 1:04:44Yep. And one more to top it off, the
- 1:04:46great Nico Harrison as well. And Nico Harrison that I think
- 1:04:50everybody will enjoy. Definitely enjoy that one for us
- 1:04:52so you can. Also check out my venting yes
- 1:04:55Brian Dabel and Joe Shane which I.
- 1:04:58I'm going to write an article about bold ex pitchers and don't
- 1:05:04be surprised if Jabba's name is being thrown out there and the
- 1:05:09the future of this article. So be aware of my complications
- 1:05:14of bold pitchers that walk away from the sport of baseball.
- 1:05:17So yeah, so Java might be the lead guy on this story.
- 1:05:21So, you know, I might attack my fellow cohost on this show.
- 1:05:26Anyways, yeah, that's it for the show.
- 1:05:29Who do we have on Wednesdays? Mary, thanks to Nathan for
- 1:05:31getting this guy. Former Rockies, Yankees, Pirates
- 1:05:33and Astros pitcher and now the head coach of the Trenton
- 1:05:35Thunder, Sean Chacon, will be joining us.
- 1:05:38Oh, Jabba's favorite. That's a good one.
- 1:05:40That's a that's a slam dunk. Hands free.
- 1:05:43You know, Jabba, you're, you're ready to go.
- 1:05:45You're ready to go and eat some food.
- 1:05:46I know you're probably ready to do something.
- 1:05:49He looks like he's about to meditate.
- 1:05:51He looks like he's about to RIP my head off my body.
- 1:05:55It looks frozen. I don't know.
- 1:05:56No, he's. Not frozen.
- 1:05:58You sure? Yeah.
- 1:05:59It looks a little frozen to me. He's sitting.
- 1:06:01I see him breathing, so I guess he's not.
- 1:06:04Anyways, that's it for a show. Ladies and gentlemen, We'll see
- 1:06:08you on Wednesday. Good night, it.
