- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Today's topic is going to be very touchy for many of the people who always feel stuck in one direction.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: I'm going to mention that.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: What is that direction?
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: You know this feeling you start something new, a plan, a habit, a routine, a whole new direction for your life.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: And for the first few days, you are on fire.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: You are super motivated.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: You are excited.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: You are sure this is it.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: This time it will be different.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: And then somewhere around day 6 or day 7, something quietly shifts inside you.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: The energy starts raining, the excitement fails, and within a few weeks or two, you drifted back to exactly where you were before.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Almost everyone I speak to describe some version of this.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Especially to the clients I talk to.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: That they are pretty excited initially, but then they drift away very easily.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: They start strong and lose it very fast.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: And they conclude the same thing that the lack is coming from the lack of their own personal discipline.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: And that something is wrong with them in totality.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Today I want to explain what actually is happening because it's not what you think and it's not your fault.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: There might be other people telling you many things, but understand what is happening first.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: The excitement you feel at start of something new is not commitment, it's novelty.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: When you begin something fresh, your mind fills it with vision of it.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: A good idea, good feel, who you will become, how different life will be.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: That vision generates real energy.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: It feels like motivation.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: But it's borrowed against a future that hasn't happened yet.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: That in short is manifestation itself.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: But it feels like motivation also at that borrowed time.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: It is borrowed against a future.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Correct.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: And novelty has a short self-life.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: If you think about it, it is designed to fade.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: So around day 5, day 6, day 7, the newness will wear off.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: The vision stops being exciting because now just the thing you do and the energy that was carrying you disappears because it was never real fuel.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: It was excitement about the idea, not the commitment of the work.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: And there's nothing to be blamed about here.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: The idea is how do we maneuver it perfectly?
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: But now here's the part that matters the most.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Day 7 is not random.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: It's roughly the point where two things happen at once.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: The novelty runs out, like I mentioned, and the discomfort shows up as well.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Because by day seven, you will hit the boring part.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: The part where it stops feeling exciting and starts feeling like an effort.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Now the part where results haven't come yet, but the work is still required.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: This is where the real pattern lives.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: For a lot of people, the moment something stops, giving them a quick emotional payoff, a quiet story kicks in.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: This isn't working, maybe this isn't for me.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: I'll find something better.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: And they drop it.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Not because they failed, but because their system is wired to chase the next hit of novelty rather than sit through the discomfort of the middle.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Now, this is why some people start a hundred things and finish none.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Every new thing gives them the day one high, like a proper high they get motivation surge, everything.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: And every time it reaches day 7 and it gets uncomfortable.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: You know what is the most ironical part here?
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: People who do this always have the greatest ideas, also.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't deny that.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: That is why they are always so motivated to do it.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: They jump to the next thing that gives them the next high again.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: They have the most excellent ideas you will ever find for sure if you think about it.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: The switching feels like seeing or seeking, to be honest, and it's actually escaping, escaping the exact discomfort where the growth was about to happen or about to start.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Now we all know it's not an easy job to actually develop something, it takes years and years.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: At times it happens really quickly, thanks to our social media nonsense.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: That we are used to seeing a 20-year-old made a billion dollars and we are stuck here as a 40-year-old doing nothing.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Coming back to what keeps you going after the novelty runs out is not more motivation.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Motivation is the day one energy.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: You have to understand, you cannot rely on it for sure because it's designed to fail.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Three things carry you instead.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: First, knowing your why.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: Why are you doing it deeply, not vaguely?
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Why do you want to do this?
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: In the calls I do, I have noticed something.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: People can't sustain anything they don't understand the reason for.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Generally, most of the time, they love the idea.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: They like, oh wow, we can do this, this, this, everything great.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Why they are doing it, they have no idea.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: Second, the moment someone knows exactly why they are doing something and what it actually gives them, they can push through the boring middle part.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Now, without that why, which I mentioned the first, day 7 wins every fucking time.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: So before you start anything, get painfully clear on why it matters.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Or else don't start it.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Because that's why is the only thing that survives after the excitement dies.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: And you know what is the best part?
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: That why is the connecting factor between you and you whom you're trying to reach as a customer, as a business, whoever your why is the most important factor.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Simple as that.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Second, expecting the dip, just knowing that day 7 is coming changes everything.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: When the energy drains and the story, this isn't working, shows up, you can recognize it for what it is.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Not truth, just the novelty wearing off.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: You stop believing the story.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Simple.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Now, when you stop believing the story part, you automatically derail from that vision which you just created seven days ago.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: But you know what is the irony here?
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: If you are sure on your part one, which is the why, irrespective if your motivation drops off, which is the novelty drops off in the seven days, you will automatically proceed further.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Because your why will be always greater than you, greater than yourself.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: It doesn't come from total egoness, rather, it comes from a greater vision than you and yourself also.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: So that builds up an internal motivation that pushes you forward.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: Third, shrinking the action so small that it survives low motivation.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: One day, one you don't need discipline, one day, seven you do.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: So make the daily action small enough that you can do it even on the day you feel nothing, because consistency on small things beats intensity on a big thing that you then you quit.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: And from the biggest of the people to the ones who are starting, whoever it has been, however difficult the journey has been, they always make sure to do something in that direction, anyhow, and that again comes from part number one, which was the why, because their why is so clear in their head that anything which stops them number two, number three, all of that, they know that they will go back to it.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: So if you keep starting strong and fading by day 7, you are not lazy, definitely.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: You don't lack discipline totally, you have just been running on novelty and mistaken for commitment.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: The excitement was always going to fade, that was never the sign to quit.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: It was the sign that the real work was about to begin, and that is when you actually start the game.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Now, in this, everything will be tested on you.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: You will try to procrastinate, you will feel backlash, you will feel hurdles, you will feel everything because I'll shoot you now, the universe is going to trust you on every stage of it.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: The bigger the goal, the difficult the goal is, the more struggles will be there.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: Because if you are taking a such big role in your life, of course, it is going to be checked on your behalf whether you'll be able to execute it at a longer run at a greater level.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Just think of it as simple as give yourself an example.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Whatever you're starting from 10 years from now, what that person would be like, what that person would feel, what that person would be driving factor for whatever this thing they are doing.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: So imagine if you start to get involved in an education business to change the education system for a greater good.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Just imagine yourself from 10 years from now on what that person's vision and idea and driving factor would be.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Why does he want to do this?
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: What kind of step in disciplinary action that person would be taking?
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: And we just have to become that, we just have to operate from that, as simple as that.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: Manifestation, gratitude, discipline, procrastination, call it whatever hurdles, stupulous factors, will automatically be tested in this, will automatically get streamlined in this, and the reality shift which everyone talks about happens like this.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Also, it's never only the game of spiritual plane, it's also the game of your own mind.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Remember that.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: So it's always going to be science plus spirituality, and that is how you manifest your reality, your desired reality.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: You do that quantum jump and leap.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: That was the whole signature of why you start and then you stop.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: And then you start new things.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: The people who actually change aren't more motivated, remember that than you.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: They just learn to keep going after the motivation left because they knew their why.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: They expected the depth.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: If they didn't also, their why made them keep going.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: They made the work small enough to survive it.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: If you want to understand the pattern underneath why you keep stopping, there's a free video at the link.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Break the loop, research reality.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: I'll see you on the next podcast.
